Food
If you ever want to find a good lobster roll, look no further. My friend recommended this place and said it is better than eventide. I absolutely agreed. The high roller lobster roll is way more flavourful, which is what we want for a lobster roll, otherwise it is boiled lobster with bread.
Everything else
The decor is like every other fast food chain with a spin. Service was great.

Best lobster I have ever had in my life! I was not sure about the place but I asked the 3 customers that came out. They told us it's the best ever and they drove 5 hours for this place we were convinced. We had a wait to get seated but once we sat down, the ordering process is easy. Scan the qr code, pay and the food comes out. This is the most delicious lobster I have ever had. I would recommend the larger 4oz and cooked warm instead of cold.

Love the restaurant vibes, food and service. We got a lobster roll and one of their burgers with fries- both items were DELICIOUS. The lobster roll was cooked perfectly and meshed well with the bread, 10/10. The burger was also cooked well and tasted great. They also allowed a lot of customization on menu items and had a variety of sauces (another pro)
I would give it a 4.7 if I were able to- overall GREAT experience and also great food! My only con is that a lobster roll was close to $40, which is quite pricey in my opinion. The food is worth it, more so if it's your first time trying a lobster roll!

Solid place to go when in Portland, Maine. There’s plenty of seating both in and outside with hardly any wait time. The style of the menu is straightforward so you know what you’re ordering, with pictures accompanying the mobile menu ordering site. The two ways of ordering makes for a fairly efficient system (either order and pay through phone or traditional order). The food comes out at a reasonable time and was hot (what’s more to love?). Service is great just keep in mind that it isn’t your typical sit and dine restaurant with an assigned waiter. I had no complaints and will be thinking about their lobby pop until I return.

If you are downtown and want an excellent little spot I would highly recommend the Highroller. I won't pretend to be a lobster roll expert but I absolutely loved their rolls. They have multiple sauce options which really added to the flavor. Ask for a couple on the side to find which one you like best. You won't be disappointed. They also have a large outdoor area which is well shaded and good for enjoying the fresh coastal air.

The wait is worth it! The lobster rolls were delicious and they offer a flight so you can try more than one. They also have a great beer menu! Delicious food, fun environment and quick service as you place your order via the toast app, which they provide a bar code for your table.

We made it just in time for happy hour. (4pm-6pm). Took advantage of the $2 oysters and the house margaritas. Also threw in some jello shots. Very tasty! The surf and turf high roller burger was beyond amazing. Definitely get the 8oz patty as it will balance out the amount of lobster it's topped with. I got lemon mayo, garlic mayo and lobster ghee. Definitely will hit this spot if I'm ever in Maine again.

If you’re looking for delicious lobster, this is it.
Our first time in Maine and trying various rolls and lobster in itself, this was definitely a top choice. The meat was fresh and the sauces were great, especially the one with a hint of pineapple. In comparison to other places, the roll was my favorite. There is an option to order two different sizes. The lobster lobbypop is a light snack as it is a small amount of lobster meat for about $20. The prices aren’t definite as it’s sold for market value. The prices of crab meat may vary, depending on the market value.
The vibe was good, and the food was great. The data made it harder out there to order via phone in the restaurant but it was a quick fix by going over to bar and ordering. Also, be ready to wait a bit before entering the restaurant as they take your number and text you when a seat is available.
Will definitely be returning to this establishment when we visit again for their delicious lobster rolls and sauces!

Excellent location to enjoy as much lobster as you can handle! Very cool vibe inside with wonderful service from all staff members! I recommend the lobster taco for a new and delicious way to eat lobster. Various sizes of the traditional lobster roll on the menu too. The oysters are also great and the Lucky 7 is worth every penny. Solid drink selection and some unique cocktails. My wife and I will definitely be adding this to our list of must do's any time we're in Portland!

Got here right at 11 when they opened because we had a 1pm flight. We were in and out in 30 minutes. Easy ordering and paying right on your phone. I ordered the lobster roll and it was delicious. Not as amazing as the one I had at Red's Eats with all that lobster meat years ago but extremely satisfying. Fries were excellent and the jalapeño mayo was fabulous. Super happy with my last meal in the area and I like the low key casual vibe. Highly recommend!
Ashley Shelnutt
Yep, the reviews here are true - best lobster roll I’ve ever had. The lobster was buttery, tender, and just absolute perfection. I added the jalapeño and lime mayo together and it just sets it off. Order some fries with garlic Mayo and you won’t be sorry! It’s also like a lobster disco inside, so fun! Only downside is the long wait time but honestly I would wait 2 hours for that lobster roll again.

We went there relying on the popular comments on this place, and was totally the right decision!
The restaurant has a chain-like atmosphere but it is very well designed and has a cool vibe.
We weren’t starving so shared the whole lobster roll for two. Both the lobsterroll and the fries were so good.
Everybody should eat here when visiting Portland. And they should open a place in Boston, please!!!!

First time trying a lobster roll and it was DELICIOUS! Great place to visit around Thanksgiving. They even had a crunch wrap supreme with Turkey, cranberry sauce, stuffing, etc. which was phenomenal. I had the painkiller slushie to drink. Service was wonderful and check out their gift shop if you need to wait a little for a table 😊

This place is incredible! We stopped by on a whim during our recent trip to Portland, and I’m so glad we did. I had the lobster grilled cheese (for the first time!) and sweet potato fries – it was a religious experience. My sister said her burger was “just ok,” but she loved the sweet potato fries too.
The self-ordering process was cool (order food straight from your phone using a QR code), and the staff was super friendly.
It’s a bit pricey, but I highly recommend it!

Heard some great things about Highrollers, so we traveled out of our way to give it a try. To say our expectations were met is the understatement of the year, and this was close to New Year's Eve 2021. The food was fantastic, and the staff were especially kind and super helpful. Sure, expect to pay a bit more than your typical night out at Taco Bell, but it is so worth it. The lobster rolls were filled with meaty lobster deliciousness. I highly recommend going for the simple lobster ghee or drawn butter for the sauce. You can even try it without the sauce (have it on the side) and it is still amazing. The fries were perfectly crisp and tasty, and the Cesar salad did not disappoint at all. We also had the Christmas bomb, which was served in a porron. I have to say, the Christmas bomb was nothing I've ever had before, kinda tasted like a cross between a really rich ice coffee and pumpkin pie in liquid form, it was amazing and paired well with our meal. Parking was on the street, but being after 6pm we didn't have to pay. For sure a definite winner in my book, if we are in Portland again we're definitely stopping by to hang out and chow.
Cara S
Obsessed. We make it a point to come here every time we’re in Portland. We’ve tried several lobster roll spots but Highroller is always the best (and most fun)! Cool diner feel, fun and funny decor. The lobster roll is obv amazing. Corn dog, fries and fried chicken sandwich are yummy! The lobby pops and crab roll are amazing. They also have some really unique sauces to play around with too…Just all around great spot.
Chris H
One of the best lobsters I ever had. The sauces are great and add to the taste of the lobster rolls. The surf 'n turf burger, which is essentially a burger with lobster on top is a must try. A bit pricey and there is usually a bit of a wait, but definitely a go to in Portland, ME.
Emerald Leon
This was the first place my boyfriend and I went to after checking into our AB&B. We got both versions of the lobby pops. He got the fried version, which was a little bit disappointing - it didn't have a lot of lobster in it but if you wanted a corndog essentially, it would be a good choice.
The "naked" one was great and served perfectly. The oyster was tasty and the drinks were solid. Their jello shots aren't the best and honestly would be the only thing I wouldn't recommend.
The overall atmosphere was good. The service was great and would love to visit again next time we're in Portland!

What a fun place for a bite of seafood or Lobster rolls. Great drink selection, a lively and fun place. Service was quick and the food delicious, has a funky vibe that tourists and locals enjoy. Reasonable prices as well. A must do in Portland.

The vibes in this place are IMMACULATE. Super cool, super fun, and THE BEST lobster roll I had through three stops in Maine! The staff was very kind and helpful and definitely made our trip worth it. :) If you want to try a lobster roll, but also have it served with style in a memorable setting, then PLEASE check out Highroller Lobster Co!
Tia Pirkl
This is a pretty cool spot. The servers were pleasant and helpful. You can place your order at the counter or use your phone. It took a few minutes to set up an account and enter credit card but it was pretty slick after that. This was the first lobster roll I've ever eaten and it did not disappoint. We had it Maine-style with both jalapeño and lime mayo per the servers advice. It was probably a little more mayo than I would normally go for but dang! It was tasty! The brioche was the perfect bun for the sweet, rich and abundantly satisfying lobster. Yum!!!
Alex Yang
So happy we have it a try! We were shopping nearby and I remembers seeing the name on yelp so we got the lobster roll flight: we went with the drawn butter (duh), garlic Mayo ( the creaminess goes very well with lobster) and pineapple Mayo (a nice twist on the Mayo) and we loved everything! The lobster was fresh and generous in portion, and the roll was perfectly buttered! One of the best lobster rolls!
Brooke Mulford
Great experience! Friendly and inviting staff. Favorite things we had: lobster rolls, fries, lobster bisque, coleslaw. Prob best to avoid: Corny lobby- lobster was done well, but IMO, overpowered the lobster. The jalapeño Mayo and garlic Mayo were also divine.
Josh C
I finally made it here after years of seeing the lobster rolls plastered on the socials and it was THE absolute best lobster roll I’ve personally had! The service and staff were top notch and the draft beer list was insane as well if you’re into that sort of thing. Go here when in Portland, I promise you won’t regret it.
kramille
A wonderful dining experience featuring delicious Maine oysters that are perfectly shucked and well presented. Their lobster roll flight is highly recommended with tender chunks of savory lobster. The Highroller is a dog friendly establishment with multiple seating areas, an attentive and most helpful staff. The monstrous Bony's Big Old Bloody is a meal unto itself.

We visited from out of state for a wedding and this place was suggested from the locals. We were able to catch the happy hour, $2-3 beers were an instant yes! Tried my very first lobster roll and it was so fresh and the bread was nicely toasted = SO GOOD. Also tried their HH oysters which were really delicious and fresh.
I really enjoyed this place! The staff were great and friendly. I would recommend to everyone and we will be coming back so I can get some HighRoller merch!!
Kieran Fahey
Starting from the tastefully designed logo, everything about this place is different and unique. It has a very upbeat atmosphere and the lobster rolls are incredible. Their take on a menu is also much different, instead of text Highroller uses imagery. Compared to other places to get a lobster roll in Portland, this one is extremely good for the money.
The store is also great, very unique merchandise and designs. Will definitely be going back!
Jacky Wong
Fantastic restaurant with a 70s appeal. I walked in and it feels just like johnny rockets. Everything is electronic. Order on the app and pay on the app. The staff was super friendly and very welcoming. The lobster rolls were delicious. You must try it here! I say one of the best in town to be honest. Wish I got more food while I was there. Will definitely go back.
Jaclyn Hunter
The oysters may be the best I’ve ever had! So tender and delicious. Lobster roll was amazing, the 4oz was a great price for a lot of lobster. We accidentally made it for happy hour and it was the best. We had 2 Jell-O shots- rumbo and margarita and they were delicious (rumbo is like a rum punch). The Bloody Mary and margarita were also great. The lobster Crunchwrap was an interesting concept and unique experience!

Another stop on our northeastern tour of the United States was on Portland, Maine - the lobster capital of the US.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
As expected one of the first stops in Portland was for a lobster roll at @highrollerlobsterco a low key diner feeling restaurant.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Pictured below is the classic lobster roll which was delicious - let's discuss why:⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
1. The Bread: a fresh and toasted brioche bun that's nicely buttered up. The roll here was tasty by itself and slightly crisp on the outside and super soft on the inside - I'd eat this bread by itself 😅⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
2. The lobster: 4oz. of fresh lobster from the claws.. it's about as fresh as you can get in Maine⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
3. The sauces: topped with a lime and jalapeno Mayo and a bit of lobster infused butter... this just takes the whole thing over the top⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Bonus: this place has a great vibe and in fact has a working disco ball 😂⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

First time here and WOW! First off, the lobster roll is by far the best thing I’ve ever had! A must have if when visiting Maine!
The bread was warm and toasted, the lobster was chilled to perfection and the garlic mayo really hit the spot! The bay fries & coleslaw was also delicious! I will absolutely be back!
Service was great! Greeted and seated immediately upon arrival, easy ordering system and reasonable prices! A MUST TRY!
Leonardo Hernandez
If this is your time visiting Maine, you can’t skip this place! The food is amazing. Their side sauces all taste homemade and their oyster are fresh. The lobster was fresh and delicious.
Mike Chaplin
Amazing. Stellar casual fare. Oysters at happy hour are $2. The fries and burgers were top notch. Atmosphere and staff were so inviting and friendly. Had a 5 star experience at a 3 star price (though avoided actual lobster 🦞). Can't wait to come back. …
Shawna McCartney
Delicious lobster rolls! If you’re in Maine, it’s a must visit! Budget for it though as it’s a little pricey (hello Lobster) but totally worth the cost I think! They don’t do wait staff - you have to either order online or at the counter but such lovely vibes and great seating options- you don’t miss having a waiter.
Arman Shoraka
Was it decent? Yes. Was it worth it? No. I heard about this place from my Airbnb host, and when I texted her that a 4ounce roll was nearly 30 bucks, she flipped. I ended up getting the corn dog and lobster lolly, and it was fine. The lobster despite its size was just not tender. The beer and Jell-O shots were very well priced during happy hour. But I will not go again. I hope those prices are only reflective of supply chain issues and nothing else.
Matthew Crowner
This place was excellent. The service is fantastic and so is the food. Best lobster roll we've ever had, and the burger with lobster on it was the best burger we've ever had. French fries were also amazing. Will definitely come back here any time I'm in Portland.
Rebecca B
We spent a week in Maine and the Highroller had one of the best lobster rolls that we had! My favorite part was that you can order the sampler set of sauces and order the plain lobster roll (with old bay of course) and then you can try every sauce they have! The spicy Mayo was by far the best. I would go back to Portland just to get another lobster roll here again. Also, you can’t go wrong with their Swirley Boy drink either!
VeeBee Queenie
Oh my God! This place quickly became my favorite during a four-day birthday trip to eat Maine lobster in Maine. The lobster, drinks, service and ambiance are AH-MAZE-ING! They also have a lobster pop, which is a lobster tail on a stick. Who would've thunk it!??!!
And you MUST try the jello shots. The flavors are perfectly balanced. I cannot wait to go back.
Sam Leitermann
Delicious food!
Easy ordering right from your table and a great beer selection makes for a great lunch time.
For those with kids, be aware that it’s a little loud, so you might want to bring headphones for them. However, the staff is very accommodating!
Darian H.
The food here is so good. The lobster bisque is amazing, the lobby pops are killer. The buffalo lobster grilled cheese? Delicious! Great food and great vibes. Bob’s Burgers on the TV and hair metal on the playlist 😍 We were in Portland for a week and came here twice. Do not skip this place!
Margo Williams
Good food. Busy atmosphere. I liked the ability to order from my phone. After trying the small rolls with the sauce sampler; I would recommend a 4oz Lobster Roll with Drawn Butter, Sweet Red Pepper Mayo, and Garlic Mayo Connecticut Style.
Robert Cardoni
There’s a reason people say this place has the best lobster rolls in town - cause they do. The fries are top notch too . Dine in only. No take out. Can be busy at peak times - be ready to wait
Meg M
I was only in Portland for a few hours on the way to Acadia so I wanted to have the best lobster roll in town and Highroller did not disappoint! We got two lobster roll flights with a different sauce on each one and they were all amazing, fries were good too, they had options for kids, cool merch and good atmosphere. Highly recommend!!
Jade A.
Absolutely loved this place!!!
Went solely based on online recommendations and was glad we did.
We tried the Lobster Grill Cheese, Fried Lobster roll along with a single oyster and the Rumbo cocktail.
Everything was *chef's kiss*
carrie kittel
Really amazing lobster roll and super crispy fries! Lobster was perfect size and cooked just right. Staff was really friendly and helpful. Highly recommend!
Jacob Milam
I really want to give this place 5 stars as the service was amazing here and the food was pretty great for the most part but we had 2 problems. 1st the wait to get a table and then the wait for our food were both incredibly long the whole process took us like 2 and a half hours before food got to our table which that just seems crazy. 2nd the fry oil really needed to be changed sooner and so our items that were fried came out with that old fry oil taste. That aside the location is super fun the staff is great and the food that wasn't fried was great! I wish the experience was just a little better for our group.
Jana Roberts
Amazing. The vibe is awesome, the service was friendly and helpful and food and drinks were top notch.
You order via your phone or the bar yet you constantly feel helped by everyone. The lobster rolls were so tasty and full of delicate lobster meat and tasty sauces to try. We also tried the lobster on a stick which was fun and tasty. Drinks were equally as excellent. A must try in Portland!
T Nova
Chose this place to be me and my wife's first Maine Lobster experience. We were greeted with a warm smile upon our arrival, and we're given a 30 minute wait time, which gave us time to walk down to the Marina and go in a few stores. Once we were called for our table, I ordered the Lobster Roll, with the Lobster Ghee sauce 10/10 ($28). My wife had the Surf/Turf Burger 7/10 ($29) (she said she wished there had been more Lobster & less Beef). We ordered french fries with the house made Curried Ketchup, 10/10! Overall great experience. We wished prices were slightly lower, and also wish there were servers that visit the table to answer questions.
Conclusion: we will definitely return when/if given the opportunity.
Morgan Baciu
Had the lobster roll and lobster grilled cheese. Great lobster options. Really enjoyed the staff at the bar. They were very friendly and personable. I would highly recommend for a unique bar experience.
Susan Holland
Hands down the best lobster rolls in all of New England! We went during busy lunch hour and was still seated within 25 minutes. Ordering and payment done via QR. The fries are phenomenal and you must try their local oysters! This is my second trip there and I foresee a third trip in my future.
James
I'm not exactly sure what the theme is but it seems like a classic diner style joint. Everything about the aesthetic repelled me but it had good reviews so I went for it! The bartender who waited on me was very friendly and helpful and I enjoyed the lobster grilled cheese and french fries but it seemed very overpriced ($33 for what seemed 2-3oz max of lobster). Also, the fried food is done in a separate area, which I appreciated, but my fries came out well after I had finished my grilled cheese
Justin
Great presentation on the Lobster roll and Surf and Turf Burger. Both tasted good. Fries, a little too well done. Lobster roll slightly over priced.
Kayla Bush
Delicious food, highly recommend the lobster bisque. Staff was super nice. Great beer selection. Come here, you won't regret it.
Brian Vickery
Had a trio of mini lobster rolls. The lobster ghee and butter topped rolls were excellent. Didn't too much care for the garlic mayo on top of the other one though. Whoopie pies were really good. Brought 4 more home.
Helen Ferridge
Had the lobster flight, bakers dozen oysters and the high burger. Everything was delicious. Our favorite sauce was the pineapple mayo 😋 the rolls were plump full of lobster and the oysters were so fresh. Must stop if you are in Portland.
Ken Crites
The best lobster roll I’ve ever had. Our Lobbi Pops were undercooked (some batter still liquid) and they replaced with more rolls. Expect a wait. Good beer options. Fun decor
Casey Sharp
Absolutely 100% best lobster roll I’ve ever had! It was everything I wanted except a $28 price. It was good but not $28 bucks good. The oysters were also beyond good! 3 dollars each but they were amazing. The look and feel of this place is fun and exciting specially if you sit outside in the back of the restaurant.
Kathryn K
I have been to HR a few times for both take out and dine in. Their lobster rolls are always done to perfection and their sauce options elevate the roll beyond the standard lemon or butter. Fries are done to PERFECTION! Separate lines for dine in and take out along with ample indoor and outdoor seating make dining in or taking out easy. Despite this, during peak times expect a slight wait - and it’s worth it!
Of course, you will spend a bit to have a delicious quality food. Given prices in Maine, while expensive it is what I would expect for a quality roll in the old port area.
Emily Oberton
The food is amazing!! This was BY FAR our favorite restaurant in Maine. We had the lobby Pop, lobster roll, Bloody Mary (so good!) and my husband had the oysters, which he said were the best ever. Our kids also loved their hamburger and chicken poppers. For dessert we had the whoopie pies and they were incredible. The servers were fun and friendly and we couldn’t have enjoyed our experience more.
M
Very very good, you order on your phone and the food and drinks come right out. Enjoyed the drinks and the food was amazing. Freshest and best oysters of all the Portland restaurants that we tried, lobster was great. Don’t forget to pick your mayo sauce for the lobster roll - the online system was a bit confusing for that. Would return & recommended.
Faylinda Kodis
We inhaled our lobster rolls so quickly that I don’t have a photo of them. Delicious & surprisingly authentic . I grew up in Maine eating lobster & I like rolls that have whole lobster meat pieces & no garnish. Toasted buttery roll & chilled lobster with a smattering of mayonnaise. This restaurant looks like a hip, retro diner but the lobster rolls are lobster shack delicious. Yum! & the staff is wonderful!
Kinley Ellis
I didn’t have to wait long to get in, we got seated in less than 20 minutes. You can order online or walk up, so you can take your time! I absolutely love this place and %100 recommended going here. This was one of the best lunch experiences I think I’ve ever had!!
Frank Hong
Disappointing that the grab and go menu is not the full menu. We wanted to try the dish they were known for but they said bc of our party it would be a 2 hour wait. To be blunt the price of lobster is $$. The 4oz is $$ (see images). But the kids liked the hotdog and the bread. The taco was ok. The grab and go menu did not fill me up :( it was more or less a snack.
Eric
It’s pretty good. I didn’t really like having to order on my phone all at once. I like getting drinks, then food, then maybe another drink. I didn’t see an option to leave the tab open so I had to place three orders. The service was good, when I ordered drinks they came quick. The lobster rolls are kind of overhyped though. I found them to be very small and at a comparable price of much larger rolls elsewhere. The music selection is good, but it’s very loud, especially in the waiting area. The waiting area/gift shop honestly threw me off the most. I did get a good laugh in the bathroom however..very noice.
Matt S
Visited their Tap Room location at BBB. Fries were good and crispy and enjoyed the old bay seasoning. Burgers were cooked well with a delicious toasted bun. Would visit again.
David McBee
Best lobster roll I’ve ever had. Stuffed with lobster and the roll was crispy and soft. The lobster grilled cheese was also amazing and we loved the atmosphere of the back courtyard. Oh and the oatmeal cream pie! Little Debbie eat your heart out.
Matt Hauben
Amazing food, workers, and atmosphere. The back patio was a really nice surprise. Everything we ordered was great (kids grilled cheese had crazy cheese pulls) and would definitely recommend the surf and turf burger with bacon added.
Carey S
I'm poor so I got the smallest lobster roll they had. I wasn't sure of how I wanted it, so the waiter brought me three sauces to try. Super friendly staff. Bright/ fun atmosphere. Yummy lobster roll! Overall a success.
Elizabeth Maldonado
This was my first time coming to this place. I heard a lot about it and thought maybe I should come here because I'm on a road trip to New Hampshire and even though I'm 2hrs away from where I'm supposed to be I still wanted to come. So I waited to be seated about 45 minutes or so & the wait was definitely worth it because the food was so delicious 😋 I definitely want to come back again 😋
Kristy Langellier
Absolutely amazing food. I got the lobster cheese taco with lobster ghee and caramelized onions. I also got one of their frozen drinks. There is no way they make much money on their drinks because it was very boozy and only $10. About 5 sips in and I could start to feel it. I split a basket of fries with my friend; the fries were really good and it came with 3 shipping sauces. My favorite was the garlic Mayo but the curried ketchup was a close second. The atmosphere was really nice too.
C F Davis
The lobster roll was good, the French fries. Omg. Get the garlic mayo with ot and you will thank me later! The oysters was phenomenal
J B Palmer
Yum! We love it here. It’s pricy but sooooo delicious. This time we all got a fancy drink. Definitely recommend the oysters, the raspberry pina colada, and the lime mayo lobster roll.
HoneyBelle
Delicious and Oh So Fresh! Just a lil loud in the place, but it didn't really matter. Great Service! Reasonably priced. A Must Try.
Shirley
Got the standard lobster roll with a side of fries. The lobster roll was great, really nice and fresh and I enjoyed the lime mayo. I wasn't the biggest fan of the fries, i think I'm better off sticking with salted fries. The person who served me was very lovely and happy to answer my questions.
Marek Michalak
This is a famous lobster place (one of many) in Portland, ME. The lobster roll was ok, but you can do better in Portland. The surf&turf burger was really good and the sides and sauces we ordered were really nice. The only grip we had was is was way more on the pricey side than we expected.
Michelle R
So easy to sit outside or inside, you pay at the bar, best lobster I've had in Maine yet. Get the 4 oz lobster roll, 2 oz is too small. The lobster will melt in your mouth.
Davis R
After having lobster rolls at multiple places in Portland, I can say that the lobster rolls here are the best! The ghee butter, jalapeno mayo, and other customizable options, makes all the difference. Why eat plain lobster rolls when you can have jazzed up and flavorful ones? On a side note, their fried chicken sandwich is also delicious and worth trying.
Solomon
Great Lobstaaa with fast service. You can order from the bar or through your phone at your table. Staff very friendly and helpful with menu selections. Atmosphere is great too with good music, nice seasonal decor, and plenty of indoor seating.
Sarah Russo
Two places recommended by locals for lobster roll. Hit Highroller and was so happy that I almost cried. The amount of perfectly cooked lobster on the buttery just right grilled/toasted bun. Had it with the lobster ghee and lime mayo. Perfect combo rich with the lime adding just the right amount of tartness. Noticed they had a happier hour and went back the next day for a beer and coconut lobster skewers. Again perfect. Hard to get a great crunch on the outside with perfectly cooked lobster on the inside. They managed both..
Steve Skojec
Cool place with a fun menu and nice vibe. Came for the Lobster Cheese Crisp taco, which was good, but not as amazing as I expected. At $28 for a single taco, I was hoping for a bit more. I was pressed for time and didn't get to try other menu items. Would give it another try when I have the chance.
Nagato35
Best lobster I have ever had in my life was recommended by one the staff in the hotel i was staying and he was right staff was very friendly and even tough it was busy we got out food pretty quick highly ps try the whoopies pies as well delicious
Luis Miguel Calle Mendez
Food was great, happened to pop in during happy hour and a 20oz lager is $2 which can’t be beat. It’s definitely on the pricier side, but I’d say it’s worth it. Staff was very friendly and the place has a great vibe. Will be back.

Great looking store front, great location across from the hotels, but Highroller Lobster Co. is very costly. The restaurant also has that tourist trap feel, with the gift shop right next door. The staff was polite, but I can't really talk about the service, because everything was online. I ordered my meal, I paid and left a tip, all online. A food runner dropped off the food and once I was finished, I just left the restaurant. So in that case, the online service was awesome. I can truly say everyone who works here, really seems to love their job. The atmosphere was very lively, especially with those sitting at the bar.
Jasna Acharya
Delicious lobster roll. You can choose from a variety of sauces. We picked out the butter and jalapeño mayo to pair with it. It was delicious and we highly recommend it.
Their Frankfuter is bomb diggity
We also got the coleslaw and fries on the side. They were nicely seasoned.
It gets packed for lunch so be prepared to wait 30mins for a table. There is no outside seating.
Leslie Vanderheyden
Amazing food. Ordered the lobster grilled cheese and fish sandwich. Both were outstanding as were the various dipping sauces. Bonus that the patios are dog friendly!
Brian Martucci
This is nothing less than a 5 star.
The lobster rolls, and choices of how to have it served, are AMAZING!
Best I have ever had.
I loved my fries as well.
Yes, there may be a line, but it goes quickly. They have built a machine and know how to love it along.
It is not cheap, but lobster is not cheap anywhere.
I appreciate their attention to detail from the operations, to the service, to the quality of the food.
If I visit Portland again this is a MUST on my list of places to eat.
Mikki M
Excellent Lobster rolls, friendly staff and great drinks! Cool atmosphere and vibes throughout.
Will be back!
Joey Rindosh
Fantastic food, and a sick aesthetic. Extremely pet friendly with outdoor dinning in the back. Little pricey, but great service. They bring water out for your dog and let you order from your table via a QR code. Would definitely eat here again.
Loni Burks
Delicious fresh lobster options. The lobster roll and lobster grilled cheese are the items we ordered for lunch. My husband got fresh oysters and loved them. We got the oatmeal Whoopi pies and they were absolutely amazing. The service style is pretty strange here as you use a kiosk at the table to order and get your drinks refilled at the bar. No one waits on you other than to delivery your plate of food. Overall we’d go back if we’d live there but probably watch lobster prices better since they fluctuate.
Riss Lattimore
Yes! Yes! Yes! Lobster roll was delish! Highly recommended the jalapeño sauce if you like a little bite, and the lime Mayo on your roll. The surf and turf burger was amazing! Staff was welcoming and VERY helpful. MUST TRY!
Terrence Wu
The lobster bisque was alright. The pop was decent. But my god, you need to go try the lobster roll. Definitely one of the best lobster rolls I ever had, and a place that I will be looking forwards to returning to if I ever need a quick bite.
DJ
A must try! I was in Portland for just a few days and kept food hopping and walking through out the downtown area and if I can only go back to one place it would be here. It was so good in fact I tried to see if they deliver to the hotel and they didn't. The lobster roll here was what I imagine for a lobster roll from Maine, it was so so good. So much variety and how it can be customized to someones liking. Loved the ambience and the outdoor seating was nice. For the non seafood enthusiast the burgers are really good. The rum bucket could have had a bit more rum but overall a fantastic place to come too. I like ordering through the phone but that is not mandatory, they do have paper menus and you go back and pay for your food with the cashier and go back to your table.
Claire Herritz
Better than I even could’ve hoped. The lobster roll was phenomenal. I had the cold version w garlic Mayo. The Bloody Mary was really good too.
Debbie Peters
This place had a very 50s vibe and the random skeletons were very interesting. The lobster dogs are very small so be warned. Otherwise very tasty!
Davin Lockhart
Ordered a frankfurter, lobster roll with lime mayo and a lobster grilled cheese. All of the food was amazing! The staff were very friendly and the atmosphere was great. Price was a little steep but well worth what you get. Would highly recommend to anyone choosing to visit Portland.
Daniel Ochoa
Lobster roll was on point. Chicken burger was on point. And drinks were pretty good. Definitely more on the costly side for a meal. I really liked that you scan a qr code at your table and order + pay from your phone. Easy to reorder drinks without waiting on waitress.
breafkast
Always incredible. We got the 2oz lobster roll, fries, and two dogs. It was delicious. The lime mayo is good on the fries.
Jenn S
Very friendly staff and helpful. First timers so they took time to explain the ordering system but also just rang up our orders because he said he didnt mind at all. Had a dozen ousters great variety and so tasty. Very knowledgeable about the taste of each which is nice. Had the lobster roll and fries. So glad we got the small fries they were enough to feed a family lol. The lobster was packed full of lobster and was so good but didnt realize they are served cold here but still a great place great atmosphere great food and an even better staff.
C
A humble menu! Tried the oysters, lobster rolls and lobster grilled cheese! Cute interior design and has beachy vibes in the indoor/outdoor seating where we sat. The food was very good and I can understand why this is a popular spot! I recommend to check out while in Portland, Maine!
John Frank
Best oysters we had in Portland. Everything was outstanding. Order and pay via phone was painless, service super speedy.
Reem S.
This place has great, fresh food. I had the lobster grill cheese, lobster rolls, oysters, and lobster lollipops. Each dish was absolutely perfect and delicious. This place is a must if you are in Portland, Maine.
Nathaniel Davis
Probably my favorite restaurant in Portland. Andy, Brett Jr. and all the other amazing staff really makes this a place to keep me returning along with their amazing menu, dog-friendly patio and delicious food & drinks. Arguably, the best oyster shuckers in town as well. If you are visiting or looking to try something new, this is the place to be!
Cindy Flanagan
This was out first food stop in Maine and man was it worth the 500 miles from NJ! The vibe was super, the food was decadent, cannot say enough great things about the attentive and super friendly staff!!! What a great time! Do yourself a favor: get the lobster grilled cheese!
Genesis Pirela
Best lobster roll ever! We got a bunch of sauces on the side to try them out and they’re all delicious!!!
My boyfriend said the lobster grilled cheese is “life changing” 😂💖 everything was amazing.
riddhi gangolli
This is the works ! Lobster ghee on a Connecticut style lobster roll was amazing.
The burger was outstanding as well. Will definitely come back when in Portland.
David Gallegos
Overall it was good but the buns were too buttery for my taste. The environment was pretty cool and they have great tshirts for sale. I'd recommend it...at leat once. It's an experience.
Todd Knight
Food was ok. Fries were really good. Canned beer was flat. Lobster roll was saturated/soaked in butter (the roll could've been 'wringed' out like a towel) to the point it was almost inedible. Between that and the extra fees (warming a roll, ketchup, etc) i probably wouldn't return.
Maruf Rahman
One of the best in the town!
Just be careful if you choose "Ghee" as one of the topping; they already put a lot of butter so extra "ghee" may make you overwhelm.
About $28 for one; competitive market price as I found the other places were also charging between $25 - $30...
Their bread is certainly different and better than other places. The line is exceptionally long.. Take it to go unless of course you have 30-40 mins to wait for a seat.
Ashley Tseng
Out of all the lobster rolls we had on our trip, Highroller definitely had the best one all around. You can expect a warm, toasted bun with fresh lettuce and tons of lobster. We got ours with both the lime mayonnaise and jalapeño mayonnaise as suggested by prior reviews. Got some old bay on the side which topped it off well. Cool place too.
Marwan
Definitely worth the wait. Seamless ordering process and the food didn’t take long to come out. Lobster rolls didn’t disappoint. Fries are good too especially with the sauce options. Highly recommend
Trevor Brixey
Of all the restaurants I visited while I was visiting Portland, this one got the deepest memory. From the burger to the lobster roll and finally that Whoopi pie! You have to eat here if you are around and looking for something to heat.
Hawaiiantrixie
Loved the disco ball and music! Food was excellent. We got the surf and turf burger with fixings, lobby pop (lobster on 2 sticks)with assorted dips, and red skin potato salad. We decided to come after watching Man vs. Food. We were not disappointed! Oatmeal whoopee pie was the best I've had. Hands down. It's worth the try! Excellent staff. Very friendly. Thanks! We had a great time!
Timothea Pham
Lobster was excellent! Absolutely loved the crispy cheese taco and lobster roll trio. Would definitely come back!
Melissa Dentch
The best lobster roll we had in Maine! The staff was super friendly and personable as well. And the drinks were on point. Some of the places on the water seem to be more popular, but this is well worth the short walk up the hill.
Kay-Kay M.
Good food, but very expensive. I feel like the sandwiches, burgers, etc should come with fries or some kind of side. I feel that the fried lobby pop was a bit overcooked. (See picture) I ended up just taking the batter off and eating the lobster inside. Good drinks. Very good whoopie pie. Friendly staff.
Kaity Zelinske
Service was friendly and they have a fun atmosphere! The lobster rolls are good, with great sauce options but I wasn’t a huge fan of the cold lobster meat. Being from Minnesota, we don’t eat cold lobster so that was something new for me! But it’s still worth a try and if you like cold lobster, you will love their lobster roll! Fries and the drinks were great!
Ews
We waited 30 mins for our food to come after ordering.. i just looked at the time I was charged and then waited till the food came out.. we got 2 lobster rolls.. not sure if the taco lobster is what took so long.. it was a pretty good lobster roll.. but you might have to wait awhile if you go
Fei Huang
The surf and turf burger is a must try,
I had lobster roll with their famous sauce, forget the name(I think it’s Jalapeño with mayor), its real good!
After a lobster roll, I was still hungry, so I order a surf and turf burger, it was amazing! I am glad that I got to try it.
To be fair, lobster rolls is not much difference than other place in main, but again, Surf and Turf burger is must try.
Jamarcus Fanning
Got a Bloody Mary, shrimp cocktail and lobster 🦞 on a stick!
Polite service and was able to get a seat right away at the bar!
I will most likely go back tomorrow because the lobster is delicious!
Matthew Strickland
Great and creative variety of lobster dishes! We had the lobster roll flight, lobster grilled cheese, lobster bisque, popcorn lobster, and the fries. The lobster rolls had a good amount of lobster on them, and the sauces added another great element of flavor! The lobster bisque was thick and creamy, with big chunks of lobster in it (which we loved)! The lobster grilled cheese I was skeptical of at first, but it was delicious! Buttery and rich. The sauces were extremely flavorful and added an extra kick to each bite! Highly recommend if you want to try some unique takes on lobster in a cool, diner inspired aesthetic!
Liam Fraser
Highroller lives up to the hype! As a transplant now living in Portland, I have been on the hunt for the best lobster roll in town. Not only does Highroller provide delicious, high quality lobster rolls, they also add in the fun feature of customizing your roll to be perfectly catered for your taste! Our group got in after a brief wait, and the ordering at your table QR code worked perfectly. Whether you're visiting Portland or just looking for a good night out in Old Port, I recommend stopping at Highroller for a great experience.
Nina Pham
This place is is hands down the best lobster roll in Portland Maine. The bun is toasted well, lobster is extra fresh, and the sauces are the best part. If you love butter you have to try their lobster ghee.
I’ve been here multiple times and the staff has always been extremely nice and friendly. Every time I have visitors come visit bringing them to high roller is a must! Try it if your here, you won’t be disappointed.
Sean Liddle
Came recommended, mate had the lobster cheese toastie which I should have ordered. Service was a little slow, decent amount of lobster on the lobster roll
Nancy Radecki
Not sure why this place gets such great reviews. It does have tasty food and a techie hipster vibe that's different and fun, which makes it unique. You order from a QR link at your table, which is easy and really awesome if you like to take your time in ordering. However, one of my disappointments in the place is the lack of menu choices and the high prices for small portions. We almost walked out because of the lack of menu choices, but ultimately stayed and found some food that we wanted to eat. It is an Ala carte menu - no extras unless you pay for it. Meaning that they tack on fees for things like extra sauces and sides. The meal cost us just under $100 bucks for a lobster cocktail, lobster tacos, and a basket of fries plus two beers. Yup, you read that correctly - $100 bucks! The food was truly delicious, but there were not even crumbs leftover and we both felt it was not worth the money. They even gave us these tiny cups of ketchup for a basket of fries (they were yummy actually), and added on fees for extra sauces! We were both hungry again an hour later because the portion sizes were that small. Unless you are rolling in cash or just want a snack, this place is not for you.
Robert Biggs
I had the lobster crunchrwrap and it was Amazing. If you are in Portland eat this. Dont think about it, just go and order the lobster crunchrwrap. Drinks: Okay so hear me out, the $5 happy hour Margaritas are actually good.
Ashley Parker
We love it here. It’s fun with great food. Love ordering from a QR code, freaking genius. Jams are bumping. Love.

Wow! How did I miss this on my last few visits to Old Port? We went on 12/3/22 and sat at the counter. What a cool place, from the decor to the employees, they nailed everything. We each had a Bloody Mary and my husband had the Lobster Grilled Cheese and I had the traditional Lobster Roll and we shared some High Fries. The food was absolutely perfect, portions are great and the suggestions and friendly employees just made the whole visit wonderful. Can't wait to return and try something different.
Tara Tara
I came here at the beginning of the pandemic so things were pretty hectic. However, the food was amazing! If you love lobster, this is the place to come. It's pretty quick service and anything you order will taste yummy. If you're trying to eat healthy, this is not the place for you. Everything is buttery and/or fried. We ordered the crab roll, lobster roll, lobster grilled cheese (my favorite) and a fried battered lobster. I'd absolutely go back, there's several menu items that I wanted to try. I gave it 4 stars because I felt like I needed a little more flavor, other than butter on my rolls. A little salt, peppers and garlic would have made the rolls perfect!
Lauren Links
This cafe was amazing! Such good food. Fast and friendly service. If you’re near happy hour, wait until that menu because it is definitely worth the wait for the cheaper drinks! We got the popcorn lobster bites (first time trying) and it was delicious.
Nate King
Beyond the incredible dining and merchandise experience, they also have incredible lobster. The Bloody Mary is worth the price. Promise you.
Kete Gaming
Family and I have a great dinnner. Friendly staff delicious food. We got surf and turf (lobster and burger) which is so damn yummy. I reccomended this one. We got frunkporter which so good also too. I would love to come back to this place. The sauces too is very very good and it is a condiment on everything. You should try the pineapple mustard and jalapeno mayo. This place wont disappoint you.
gurdiksh malhotra
Service and atmosphere were on point! Food was good but the 2oz lobster roll was a wee little thing, and a little pricey for what you get. Don't think you could get a cheaper draught of modello around at $3, so worth it just for that.
Amanda Hu
The lobster here is really fresh but probably not worth the wait. Their 2oz was very small and pricey. I’d go elsewhere for better
Riley Smith
Pretty busy joint and a bit pricey (like lobster usually can be). We ate outside because we could get seated immediately even though it was quite chilly.
We aren't huge fans of lobster, but figured we had to get at least one lobster roll while visiting the east coast. My wife got the lobster roll and enjoyed it. I got the lobster grilled cheese and it's the first time I've truly loved something with lobster.
Fries were okay, sauces were great, especially the Jalapeno Mayo. The Whoopie Pie was also very good.
Anthony GM
The Highroller Lobster Co. started off as a hotdog cart in 2015 and as their popularity grew, they opened this brick and mortar location in 2018 and is a hole-in-the-wall location in Portland, Maine. They're know for their create-your-own lobster rolls as well as serving corn dogs, burgers, fries, chicken sandwiches, "lobby pops", hot dogs, salads and more! They have an oyster bar and an alcohol bar and offer indoor seating.
The atmosphere is vibrant and playful with white and red all around. They play upbeat pop music and even have a disco ball to add to the ambiance.
The service is different than most other restaurants because when you get sat down you are asked to scan a QR code to look at the menu and also order and pay through your phone. If you only have cash you can pay with the cashier at the bar. Servers bring your food and drinks from the kitchen and if you want anything you do it through the app.
The food was good and was our first lobster roll ever and first of many in Maine. We're on the hunt for the best lobster roll in Portland so follow me if you want to see what I find! Overall I think this is a fun place that offers food for everyone and you should definitely check them out!
My wife and I shared a classic lobster roll with fries and coleslaw. We got jalapeno mayo, garlic mayo, ketchup and melted butter as sides for the fries and to top the lobster roll. The bun was buttery and perfectly toasted on both sides and filled with 4 ounces of lobster meat. The meat was delicious and tender and was fine by itself but was even better with some melted butter on it! It was also really good with the garlic mayo as well. Had just the right amount of garlic flavor to it. The fries were also fried to perfection and we're seasoned well. I was dipping them in the jalapeno mayo sauce and it was probably my favorite dipping sauce for fries haha it was spicy with good jalapeno flavor and had me going back for more. The coleslaw was also a pleasant and fresh surprise. It's a mayo and vinegar based slaw but also had a decent amount of lemon juice in it which came through in the flavor and was delightful.
A couple things I didn't like was there was no way to order water on the app and nobody came by to ask if we wanted any and I actually ended up getting up myself and grabbing a couple near the bar where they had over 20 premade water cups ready to serve. Also I was asked to pay for tip before we were even served anything. I didn't feel inclined to tip 20% for doing all the work myself. I would have been okay with ordering at the counter and paying with no tip and just walking up when my food was ready. Nobody asked if the food was okay and when the food was delivered to us the server didn't say anything and just set the food down and left. There should be a way to page a server through the app when something is needed instead of having to go up to the bar to ask. And also payment should be done after the meal and not before we get our food. Makes sense for counter service but not for a sit down restaurant.
Overall it's a cool spot with good, unique food but don't expect stellar service.

Came for one dish and one dish only.... Lobster taco.
Worth every moment of travel, anticipation and completion
Perfect is not a strong enough word.
Desiree Holton
Great downtown location, next to a parking garage. The staff were very friendly and recommend a bunch of attractions and other restaurants to a traveler like myself. Lobster is expensive, but it’s pretty delicious!
Arun Chopra
Very good lobster rolls. Try the lime mayo sauce with it. That is a great combination.
And don't you dare sit inside if there is space in the sun dappled patio with the maple trees overhead. Feed the cute squirrels!
Sarah OMalley
Definitely one of the more expensive rolls in the area, but absolutely worth the hype. I tried Portland Lobster Co., Becky’s, and Highroller and the latter blew them all out of the water. If you want to keep things simple but SO flavorful, I recommend getting your roll with the garlic mayo and old bay.
Jared Hoffmaster
Amazing food and great atmosphere. I had ordered the lobster burger with fries it was truly delicious and definitely worth another stop in.
Lianna Kosch Photography
Nice atmosphere, helpful and attentive team but most importantly the stand out lobster rolls! Experienced the Lobster Roll flight with a variety of sauces. Incredibly fresh, delicious and well presented. Will totally be back my next time in Old Port! Solid beer menu-- went with bartender's recommendation to try something new and I wasn't disappointed.
M C
Low/high key still one of the best meals I’ve had in Portland. The rolls were so good I didn’t have time to take a pic before they were gobbled up.
Amogh Thali
The food took so long to come, by the time it got to us, it was over an hour. The lobster roll is Ok. the fries we're good. Potato salad didn't stand out in anyway. Overall I feel this is a very average restaurant. Also, you have to complete the order with tips before even getting the food and service. what the heck?
Peralta Gary
Amazing food, atmosphere, and music. The hostess and waiters and waitresses are so caring and friendly and really make sure you’re doing good. I got the LOBSTER ROLL

Got the smaller lobster roll with the Italian half sandwich and fries. Food was good, seated fast and food came out fast as well

The outside of the bread is crispy and the lobster meat is very fresh and juicy! Highly recommend!!!
Dena Delaviz
Last meal my fam and i had on vacation. We got every seafood they offered. They were friendly and accommodating and every staff person was sooo lovely. I had to say it twice because as good as the food was, the staff was even Better! Also the charred pineapple mayo was addictive.
Mike Stone
There is not a better place in Maine to get a lobster roll, if you're interested in unique or interesting flavor combinations. You can't go wrong. Everything they do is very high-quality, and it shows because the place is always very busy. I recommend trying as many of their sauces as you can, even if it's just on fries, and noting which ones are the best for next time. It's expensive, but average priced for lobster. Parking can be difficult, I recommend going north and east by a block or two to find the easiest spots.
Robert Panco
Ordered two surf and turf burgers, was able to choose between brown and pink color - chose pink, of course. Food took a while to come out, and both burgers were thoroughly brown and well-done. They were still delicious, though, and the order of fries was very tasty.
Jennifer Dishman
I don't think I can add anything new to the great reviews, but visiting here in the Winter is the bomb!!! Great happy hour choices on top of the best food. Always a great stop no matter the season
Pam Ricci
Absolutely delicious!! What an excellent resturaunt... everything we got was great. I wish we lived closer because I am going to dream about that lobster taco!!! I will be looking forward to my next trip to Maine for sure.
Matthew Girard
Went here with my boyfriend to get our lobster and oyster fix. I got oysters and a Lobster Pop, and he got the Surf and Turf burger. Food was good, but service could have been faster and the music was a bit loud.
Jessica Handler
We booked Highroller Lobster Co. for our wedding and they absolutely KILLED it. People will not stop talking about how incredible (and generous) the lobster rolls were. Everything was delicious! Additionally, they were incredibly accommodating and flexible when it came to adjusting our menu-I highly recommend hiring this crew for any event!
David Cowen
Got the trio of rolls , it was pretty good! Fries were very good and a basket is way more than you think !
Alisha Tinkham
Expensive yet worth every penny! Best lobster rolls we've had! I love the option to not have mayonnaise! Butter all the way!
Carson Walker
Great experience at the Highroller! They have various sauces you can add to put on your lobster roll or dip your fries. I had the lime Mayo and it was DELISH! The service was great and the atmosphere was super nice. I would highly recommend.
Michele Handzel
Highly recommended by the locals. Customizable lobster rolls and sandwiches that are better quality than the more touristy spots. Fun atmosphere.
Steve Mensen
Came in town for work. I was lucky that my BIL is from the area and recommended this place. It was outstanding! Innovative food ideas, and I loved the service from the QR code feature to pay for food and drinks. Staff was super team oriented and you could tell they take pride in their service. I had the lobster corndog, hotdog, and fries. The sauces are amazing. I got several to try them out. It was so delicious and just the coolest idea. Definitely recommend this place.
ssozi amjad
Best lobster roll I have ever had...Perfect in every bite. Great service too.
Nithya Thomas
I loved the system of ordering online. Lobster sandwich was nice. I felt the place is a little expensive.
Dylan Davis
Talk about delicious. Best lobster rolls I had in 4 days visiting Portland. And the lobster grilled cheese .."chef's kiss" A+ food and A++ beer selection! Pretty busy spot but plenty of bar seats open.
Claire Larkins
Super good lobster rolls. Had to wait about 30 minutes. Sat outside at one of the picnic tables. You order and pay entirely on your food which was honestly a better experience since we didn’t have to handle our credit cards and could maintain social distancing. Food was brought out quickly. We ordered a couple rounds of food and it was all great. I recommend you check this place out!
Vickie Zaatar
Loved the 4 ounce Lobster roll so much, I decided to order another one (2 ounce). I don't live in Maine so figured I wouldn't have another for a while. I should have gotten the Lobster Roll Flight (6 ounces). The Jalepeno mayo and lime mayo were delicious. I loved the 80s club music too. Wait time was only 25 minutes.
amarpf13
First time in Portland Maine and was really in the mood for a lobster roll. Well, as everyone knows you can get lobster almost anywhere so I checked around the internet and locals and came up with Highroller Lobster. I'm sure many places have good rolls but did I make the right decision. All the staff was super polite, fresh lobster and locally made buns made this the best ever roll. They have a variety of special sauces that enhance the buttered grilled bun and lobster if you wish. Not only did I enjoy Highroller but just loved the city of Portland. Sorry no pictures, it was so good I forgot to take them but everyone knows what a roll looks like anyway. Highly recommend, don't think you'll be disappointed...
Daniela Novoa
Delicious 🤤😋 but for the price we can't say we got full . But great outdoor seating. …
Pat Eayrs
Lobster roll was by far the best out of 6 lobster rolls sampled during recent vacation to Maine. Jalapeno sauce for the lobster & potato salad added to the meal. Sat at the bar & staff serving us the meal and drinks were attentive & friendly.

Lived in Maine for over 30 years and this was the best lobster rolls I’ve ever had! Thank you!
Keith A.
Food is good, but not life changing. You're in Maine. You've obviously decided to have lobster. This isn't the most affordable place to get it, but it is an iconic Portland establishment. It might be the only time in my life ai've spent over $100 buying lunch for two. Without alcohol. But, that all said, they do provide decent quality grub. Except......the curry ketchup. Just wrong, IMO.
ornella mulenda
in short one of the BEST LOBSTER ROLL AND LOBBY POP I’ve ever had !!! The servers are nice. You should definitely check it out when you’re in the area. The oysters were FRESH & DELICIOUS!!!!!!
I definitely recommend this place.
They also have a kids menu.
Ana B C
Solid lobster rolls and red snapper (hot dog). Lobster roll with lobster ghee is probably better than the lobster roll with any other sauce (my opinion). Staff and service great too! Probably one of the best lobster rolls in Portland and good bang for your buck too.
Lauren Smith-Williams
Worth. Every. Penny!!!! Get the Lobster 🦞 Roll flight and the sauce sampler pack! The high roller burger was bomb 💣 and the fries in all the sauces! Shut your mouth!! Sooooo good!!! The bisque was tasty too (a little different than what we have in the south, but still delicious!) Do yourself a favor and don't miss this as a must stop on your food list!!
Tim Kayser
Super friendly staff. They will text you while you walk around. Lobster roll was perfection.
Brian Watson
Absolutely incredible. The best lobster roll in Portland. Traditional roll, with tons of customization options. The lobster corndogs were unique and delicious. Highly recommend.
Ana Luiza Queiroz
Picture of the small lobster roll- it is really small, but good.
It was full so we had to eat at the street
Tyson
All I can say is wow. The lobster roll was delicious! Toasted roll, lots of lobster meat, and the garlic mayo all combined for a great roll. The Surf & Turf burger was excellent as well. The biggest surprise - the charred pineapple mayo we dipped the fries in. OMG, so good!
We got a couple whopper pies to go - one of the staff told us his mom made them. First time having one, I wish we had ordered ten!! When we return to Portland this will be a definite stop!
Great atmosphere, with some skinnier folks taking up tables for social distancing. They need some lobster rolls :)
Horacio Garcia
Yup, this place is legit! Lobster is 10 times better than Boston!
Daniel Mendoza
Only was able to take it to go but man did the reviews not lie. place was nice and clean and the roll was legit. The 4oz is what's pictured here
Angela Williams
Best lobster roll I have EVER had in my life. Fries are well seasoned, one kid enjoyed the corn dog,the other had the Surf & Turf Burger. Would have given 5 stars if we could have eaten inside. Girl came out and said they were closed inside today for construction. Only slightly disappointed being that it was Friday and parking was a nightmare and had to pay just to walk up there to be turned around, but staff was super friendly and food was amazing
Paul S
Among the number one reasons you’re in Maine in the first place. Ordered deliciously tasty lobster rolls with sturdy fries in a pleasant outdoor summer environment. Great service. Yum Yum Yum
Jeff Li
Among the famous lobsters roll in Portland Maine, I will say this place makes the best tasting lobster roll, I like it hot, but they charge $1 extra to make it hot, that's my preference, most are usually cold like Bite into Maine, so the flavor is not as strong imo. You can definitely skip the $4 each oyster, because there are other places that serve raw oyster are around $2each. And be prepared for typical 1 to 2 hour wait.
shaun mclaughlin
My first meal in Portland was at high roller. They didn't disappoint. The big bloody mary is a meal on its own. Highly recommend if you love seafood. Also ordered lobster cocktail. Perfect. Lobster grilled cheese was so ridiculously good and cheesy. Finished with a wonderful lobster roll. Was so satisfying. Go here.
D L
Lobster roll was ok didnt expect it to be cold. The lobster grill cheese was good.
Melanie Tam
TL;DR - lobster grilled cheese. Just get it.
In our five days in Portland, we ate at the Highroller twice. The first time, our party of four came by at around 8:30 on Sunday. We didn't have to wait, and there was plenty of seating outside in the front (there's also seating in the back patio). I really liked their ordering system. You scan the QR code, add the menu items on the site, pay/tip with your credit card, and then they just bring the food out to you. Fewer touch points and less human interaction. I think all restaurants should do this, pandemic or not. My friend had been here a few days before and highly recommended the lobster rolls. Her and her husband got lobster rolls but my fiance and I decided to do one lobster roll and one lobster grilled cheese. I thought the lobster roll was pretty good, but my fiance said he thought it was too heavy/oily. But the star here was the lobster grilled cheese. This is definitely oily too but the lobster and the ooey gooey cheese make such a great combo, that you don't even care. I also liked the fact that you can choose up to two sauces for your sandwich. We went with the garlic mayo and jalapeno mayo. For drinks, I believe I had the painkiller. It was your typical fruity frozen drink. I wasn't a fan because it was too sweet for my taste.
The second time, my fiance wanted to come back for another lobster grilled cheese. We came right when they opened since we were leaving Portland that day and had a long drive back. We shared one but this time did the lime mayo and jalapeno mayo. It was then that I realized that the sauces don't really make that much of a difference since the main flavors are the lobster and cheese anyway. We just shared one, which I think was enough - especially at 10:30 in the morning. I don't think I could have stomached anything else that early.
Highroller is defiinitely one of those places you indulge in. The food is very rich and heavy so don't come here if you're counting calories. If I'm ever back in Portland, I'll be trying the lobster cheese crisp taco and surf & turf burger.

Unique, no-nonsense type experience that I appreciate greatly. I would urge the more "uptight" dinner to loosen their rigid expectations as to what they may expect to be "normal" and just go with the flow. Of the dozens of oysters we enjoyed throughout the week, these were by far the best, and at the best price!!! Bravo! And the beer selection - oh my God. I'd like to shake the hand of whoever's responsible for that lineup because it is Non-Stop top notch. They also have an amazing patio out back. They get all the stars! I can't wait to go back.
Anna
What an amazing Lobster taco! The “cheese” taco was such an awesome twist to a traditional taco. The amount of lobster you receive is very generous. At first I didn’t want any of the sauces they offered, but I went ahead and ordered the lime sauce, SO GOOD!! I could have easily eaten a second. I look forward to my next lobster taco!

The good: the people I spoke with when I called in my order and picked it up were friendly and kind. My lobster roll was tasty.
The not-so-good: I waited in their "to-go" area to place an order for about 10 minutes during lunch and no one came to the register to take orders (there were several people waiting to place orders). I had to get back to my hotel for a meeting, so I left. I planned to order online and go back to pick it up, but the online ordering system was down. I called in my order and picked it up. Be aware- you can't order online and be prepared to wait a while for takeout.

High Roller is a must in Portland, the bartenders, servers, everyone was so nice, helpful and fun! The food was delicious, may be the best oysters I have ever had, to include living on New Orleans! I have already told others and will be back every chance I get! Thank you!
May A.
The lobster roll is so good! Fresh and packed with lobster meat. Sauces are great too. Note- do not skip the high fries!
ArnDawg
Incredible. Food is fantastic and staff are even better. Try the Lobster grilled cheese. OMG.

Lobster Roll Flight. Go with that and experience these beautiful, juicy rolls with different sauces 👌🔥 …

This lobster roll is worth the wait! Delicious!! With outdoor seating, great stop while in Maine. Only downside was a long wait once seated to get our food, but it was worth it!
Jonathan Bencosme
This place comes along and proves that a lobster roll can be more than just a lobster roll. Oh sure you could have it in the traditional style with mayo or butter, or you could order some of their more exotic sauces on the side which I highly recommend, none of which overwhelm the lobster and each compliment it and turn every bite into a different lobster roll. Even if your a traditionalist you have to at least try the lobster ghee, that is lobster infused butter. The oysters are incredibly fresh tasting as if they were just pulled from the water 10 minutes ago, and the selection of these changes. Just as much attention was paid to the sides with a coleslaw and potato salad that are fresh and rich and beat the traditional potato chips you get. The lobster bisque was a unique take using a butternut squash as the base which mutes the sometimes too rich decadence of a lobster bisque. The rolls are great if they had a weakness id say they were about 10% smaller than the ones you get elsewhere but thats a compromise im willing to make for rolls this good. The whoopie pie I tried was great and though I was about as full as can be, I still managed to finish the whole thing. Decor is interesting, its like what if a 1957 Chevy Bel Air was a restaurant instead of a car, or if Johnny Rocket grew up to be a B-Boy and was into pop art and decided to re-open a diner. When I was there the music was all old school hip hop like Tribe Called Quest, not sure if thats always the case but damned if it didnt add a nice touch.

Quality top knotch lobster rolls. Be prepared for a crazy wait time to be seated. Only reason I am rating low on service is because you order and pay on the QR code- some people like this, I prefer to look at my phone less at the table.
Bryan Doyon
Excellent lobster rolls with some flavorful sauces and options. The fries are well seasoned and tasty with additional dipping sauces. Everything was fresh and delicious, but can get a bit pricey. Takeout was easy to order on line and was ready when they said it would be. A great place to grab lunch or dinner.
Laura Messner
I actually don’t love lobster, my husband does. This is his favorite place to get a lobster roll, which is saying something because he gets them everywhere. However, as a non lobster person, I had zero expectation of enjoying my meal, BUT I ordered the falafel sando and it was glorious. It was so, so good. I love this place.
Joves Luo
One of the best places to visit in Portland. Delicious, fresh lobster rolls that come in a variety of sauces. The new surf and turf (burger with lobster) is amazing. Fries with the old bay seasoning is the perfect side. I don't know about the other dishes because if you're not eating lobster here, you're doing it wrong. The different sauces they have are all worth a try. My personal favorites are the garlic mayo, the jalapeno mayo, and the curry mayo.
Simon Pan
Wow, the lobster roll is amazing. Lobster loli pops are awesome. Food is great. Service is great. Love their concept of scan menu and pay and delivery. So easy.
Susie
Everything we had was delicious. My favorite was the Lobby Pop. Service was great and everyone was welcoming and helpful. Too bad I live all the way in California, otherwise we'd be here very often.
Beth Bonner
Very good. The lobster roll was great. The hot dog was great. The basket of fries and all of the different flavors of mayo were amazing.
S. T.
Fun laid back atmosphere. Good beers on tap and of course great Lobster any way you want it (casual) and more. Let them suggest one of their ways to enjoy Lobster and find a new favorite
Phil vaughn
Delicious! 4oz lobster roll with bacon and diet coke with tip 45$.
Shelly Streett
So my husband's lobster roll didn't disappoint. I am not a lobster fan so I went for a burger. The meat was overworked so the texture was tough. It also didn't help that it was cooked beyond dead.
So go for the lobster but skip the burgers.
David Hassoun
Fun place with friendly service and good drinks. Decent lobster roll but nothing mind blowing. Good selection of sauces but the lobster ghee was the clear winner. Good fries too.
kristiano
Must try Portland attraction Dunning! The lobster roll was really amazing. Fresh lobster tail and the bun was brioche with good amount of butter. The mayos they offer are great addition especially the pineapple and the jalapeño Mayo. The grilled lobster cheese sandwich is also very tasty the bread was simple wonder bread like but the lobster supper fresh and the cheese plenty. The avocado was a nice addition. The fries are seasoned and crispy really go well with the jalapeño Mayo. The cocktails are also very amazing has some that come with an oyster Maine point. The Decor is special red and white with interesting skeleton dolls playing poker.
Madeline McCune
Amazing food & beer. Great service & reasonably priced. We enjoyed the lobster roll and lobster grilled cheese, also would recommend the garlic Mayo as a side sauce!
Joe Chiarella
So in one word. Poor. Poor service. Poor food. Undercooked burger with the surf and turf meal. Untasty (and small) lobster roll. U have to order for yourself and leave a tip BEFORE you even know the quality of the food and the waiter won't come back to fill your water. Never again. Don't know what triple d saw in the place.
Mike Ortiz
Best Lobster Roll I have ever had! They give you these super yummy sauce options I got the garlic butter and a sweet sauce and it was sooo good. There is a lot of seating in the front and back of the restaurant. There is a cool mural in the back, the colors and ambiance are fun and welcoming. The staff was super friendly we had a great time!
David Recendez Jr
Came here right after I landed and checked in to my hotel at the Canopy. It was a quick walk and I am glad I stopped here because I don't regret it at all. Everything g I got was delicious. I had the burger with lobster and meat can't remember the name but omg it was good and highly reccomend. Before I left I had to try the oysters and they were also good and delicious. Again if you hungry come here for a quick bite.
Adam Bush
This has got to be some of the best lobster we've had since visiting Maine. HR has a great beer selection and a killer food menu. 100% would come back/recommend!
Frank Saccone
I'm am tourist. This place has been recommended by several locals. Very different. 90's RnB Playlist. Raw Bar. Discoball. Several unique lobster options. All ordering done via app.
It's not cheap, but you get what you pay for with seafood. Our oysters were fresh and the various lobster dishes were fantastic. I loved the crispy cheese taco, and my girlfriend loved anything dipped in their jalapeno mayo. Definitely worth checking out if you love good food and unique atmospheres.
Chris Taggart
No wait to get a seat but a long wait for very simple average food. I wasted a lot of time trying to order from the app they encourage you to use but it's very clunky and difficult if you are ordering more than one item. I just ordered from the bar :) the haddock sandwich was heavy and greasy the lobster taco was very good.
Kim
Funky atmosphere but you basically order your own food on a website and a food runner drops it off (so much for service). The lobster corn dog sounded intersting but is not really good (greasy, udercooked). The lobster roll was very greasy and not much lobster. The sauces were odd, didn't really go with anything. Fries were great. Overpriced and overly touristy.
Richard Levine
A Lobster lovers dream and a must visit. The lobster rolls are outstanding with big chunks of lobster. They have the classic roll or multiple different butters and toppings to try on your roll. The lobster grill cheese was great, lots of lobster and melty cheese, can't go wrong there.
Wish I lived in Maine so I could visit here every week. We will be back as fast as we can.
Tess Massey
So good!! I love all of the options for the lobster rolls. We were able to get right in on a Friday night. They definitely have done it right in response to covid! All of the booths and tables are separated. You order off of your phone, so less contact with menu/servers/etc. Also, it was such a cool atmosphere. I would highly recommend!
Becca
Favorite lobster spot in Portland! Returned on our second trip to Portland and was not disappointed. All of the lobster dishes are incredible as is the vibe of the patio. I did miss the frozen rose though!! Got margaritas instead! Outdoor area is dog friendly.
Khyrul Khan
Touristy looking place at first glance, but the food is great and the staff are friendly. I tried the surf and turf burger with lime mayo and other dressings as well as their seasoned fries. Absolutely worth it! Will visit again next time I'm in Portland.
John Kelly
My favorite place in Portland to get lobster. I appreciate all the options they have available, but I can't help but get a hot buttered lobster roll every time. Great service and beer selection as well.
Lewis Williams (Lewtiefroops)
Don’t bother looking for a better lobster roll in Maine. This place is amazing.
Kathy Lima
Got there just before closing (9:25 orders stop at 9:30) and was able to order Togo online and I'm glad I did. They have out water bowls for the dogs. Although some of the staff were a little annoyed (probably because they were closing) other staff member were very pleasant and accomodatiomng and let me use the outdoor seating even after hours. Frozen drink was pretty strong so it make it worth the $10 price tag for such a small cup. But be ready to pay $40 for a good sandwich and a drink.
Jen Taylor Scheetz
Fun, relaxed and pleasantly surprising. Yes of course you'd expect lobster and this place does not disappoint. Enjoy great food options, especially the lobster taco (cheese shell lobster roll style), lobster pops...yes lobster tail on a stick. They have tons of sauces, and don't miss out on the seasoned fries and desserts mad by the owner's mom. Can you say...whoopie pies! Not sure what to order, you can't go wrong with a traditional lobster roll. This is definately a go again place for me.
cindy tomblin
Don't leave Portland without trying the Lobster Grilled Cheese🦑 Of course I HAD to have fresh oysters too! Absolute Briny Heaven.... just look at the opacity of these beauties!!! HighRoller is a HIT🎲🎲 …

One of the best restaurants in the town for Lobster rolls & other seafood. Always busy. You will need around an hour to get the table. But their backyard is better than inside to have dinner or lunch and you need not to wait to get table there.
Price is OK there. You may have question on their serving size, but for us these foods stayed longer time in stomach.
We went there for a late lunch, the receiver told us that the wait time is one hour. we did not have time to wait, so we went backyard, needed to stand on a queue to order food for few minutes got a nice table there.
Heather Valentine
I’m only rating this establishment at a four because of my own possible mistake.
When I arrived at this location the staff could tell I was confused on how to go about ordering via the new situation with Covid. This kind lady came over and asked if I needed help and walked me through the online order system. She let me know the general wait time and let me know I could walk around and return for my order. She even let me peak inside at the merchandise.
I rated the food at a 4 because of how expensive it was and the flavor of the items I received. My fries were a little cold, but again that could have been due to my five minute delay in eating them. The aesthetics of the establishment and the customer service were phenomenal, but I was a bit let down by my lobster roll. I ordered it with the sweet red pepper mayo and I think this is where I went wrong. I was let down by the underwhelming flavor of the sauce. I don’t feel it accentuated the flavor of the lobster. I got the curried ketchup for my fries and was also let down by the lack of flavor. Maybe even curious if I received plain ketchup instead. The honey dijonnaise was on point for fry dipping (I got this one too).
I want to try it again with the butter addition instead of the sweet pepper to see how it compares. Even though I’m one that generally says good crab/lobster doesn’t need butter.
Overall it was a wonderful experience, but was overpowered by the flavor of the bread compared to that of the actual lobster. Will try again though. But maybe only once more given the price!
The slaw was delicious!!!!
The whoopie pie (my first one) also a bit underwhelming. A little dry, but maybe that’s the way they are suppose to be?
Gina Atkins
Cool atmosphere and chill staff members. I’m not a seafood lover but my husband said this was his favorite meal while we were in Portland. My grilled cheese and wine slushy were also superb.
Julia P.
Very cool lobster combos! I would say if you want to try something new and funky , this is your place! Definetly has a cool vibe and is a good time. That said, there are better lobster rolls in portland, but enjoy this place for what it is, a unique culinary experience!
Kuen Roberts
This place is legit. When I went on a Lobster excision, this was one of the places that they recommended and a good recommendation it was! Delicious lobster roll with a large amount of fries. Super nice workers and they made it super easy to order from your phone so you can customize it how you'd like. This is the place to go if you're looking for some DELICIOUS lobster in Maine!
Zach Mullins
We sat at the bar and had some great lobster rolls, local craft beer and their famous Whoopie pie. Was recommended by a local and did not disappoint!! Add to your list!
Landon Cheben
I’m from out of town (Savannah, GA) and thought this place was great. I ordered the lobster roll (naturally) and it came with a gratuitous amount of lobster. I was still hungry so I also ordered the chicken sandwich. Service was great. Prices adequately reflect the quality of food (which was excellent). I’d recommend for sure.
Denise Nickerson
First stop on the road trip as we entered Maine. Was super excited to see what this place was all about given how many reviews on Google their are on this place. Man oh man! The lobster was hella good. Lobster pops were super delicious, the lobster meat with the freshest lobster I've ever tasted, and the cool mayonnaise concoctions to dip the lobster in was like mmm mmm!! The prices are a bit up there, but totally worth the money in my opinion.
Grace Yeh
Lobster lovers should try the lobby pops (lobster lollipops). The lobster roll had nice big chunks but a bit too much sauce for my taste. (Though, their large selection of sauce options should clue you into how much they like their sauce. I just wanted to try it.)
Crab roll was better than the other one we tried in Portland, but it was only my second crab roll ever. Super tasty though.
smith c
This is to best place to get lobster rolls in Portland. The beer is cold, the food is good, and the atmosphere is unparalleled.
I first had high roller out of a hotdog cart when I visited Bissell Bros. Their success story is amazing going from hotdogs cart to large restaurant. It's my favorite place to visit when I go to Portland.
Nahu Dimitri
Solid meal! Food comes out quick and the drinks are solid. The prices here are fairly similar to what one would pay in Washington DC
Customer service is A1, social distancing is being adhered too!
Alexandra Iuga
Food: Great local oysters, delicious lobster roll, perfectly seasoned fries.
Staff: very dog and COVID friendly, super accommodating and attentive to our needs. We also had very fast service on a busy night.
Ying L
Came here last week with a rather big party but was able to have a decent meal during covid times! Tables are limited to 5 people max due to covid restrictions, they keep diners separated by keeping a distance of one booth in between. Menu is now via a QR code (scan it with your phone camera and place your order online via credit card). The wait wasn't too bad. Food was great, the oysters are fresh and burgers are not small at all!
Carolina Tonus
The food was really good… I had some confusion ordering by phone… but it was ok
Bob Meyers
Maine lobstermen are under attack from environmentalists and federal regulators threatening their way of life and and Maine's heritage industry. The fix is to eat all the lobster you can, and this is the place to do it!
This is a funky joint with counter service and seating is booths and hightops. The staff is friendly and helpful and best of all speedy.
They offer burgers, some sandwiches and hot dogs, but it's all about the lobster.
Delicious fresh lobster rolls with a choice of some unique sauces to go on them, They are excellent and reasonbly priced for what you get. Also items like a lobster tail on a stick. Sides include fries and their own housemade chips.
There's really no such thing as bad lobster and there's plenty of places to get it in Maine. If you're in Portland, this is the place to go.
Catherine Vasquez
Delicious! The surf and turf burger is great and rye grilled cheese too. The decoration is pretty cool too and they have some tables outside with heaters.
Lindsey Ross
This place is super busy but they do a great job of keeping the bal rolling. The wait time and system is clear, given with friendly attitude.
I found our hostess and the girl serving us both super friendly and professional. It is go-go-go but they don't come off exhausted or like they've just had the same convo one hundred times. Patient people giving genuine service.
We had the lobster taco, BLT and fries. All tasty. The food came quite quickly too.
Nice atmosphere. Loud, busy, but not overbearing. Overall worth the wait. We came between 3-6 because it's meant to the a slower time.
Jerrell Atkins
Ridiculously good. You must stop to try this place! Plenty of indoor and outdoor seating while respecting covid guidelines. Fries were A+, grilled cheese was perfect, lobster roll with original bun and cheese shell were both something to behold 🤤. Loved every bite …
rodney alejandro
In the old town part of Portland you’ll this place. Atmosphere is a bit like a 50’s diner, but the menu is anything but. The ordering process via the app was smooth. The staff courteous and helpful. We ordered the lobster grilled cheese with bacon and high roller burger. The grilled cheese was rich and the bacon helped give it flavor balance. The bread felt stale as it crumbled quite quickly. Glad we split and tried another item.
The burger on the other hand was a disappointment. All the flavor came from the toppings. The meat itself had the ‘thawed’ taste and not seasoned. The bun was like twice the size of everything else together. Bite and taste caramelized onions and cheese. Between a teenager and me, it was not finish due to lack of flavor. To be fair this is not a burger.
We hoped for a flavor fest but not to be this time. We’ll try again in the future.
Heidi Morales-Hake
So far it’s been the best lobster roll I’ve had in Portland. Really enjoyed the fun atmosphere, the ease of ordering/paying and the friendly staff. Might have to come back for another lobster roll before I leave!
Mimi F
I had been craving a good lobster roll for about a year. This place was WELL worth the wait. I got the traditional lobster roll with 3 sauces on the side (butter, pineapple aioli, and jalapeño aioli).
The bun was perfectly grilled, there was a good amount of lobster in it and because I chose the sauces myself I was able to put the perfect amount of sauce on.
The fries were the skinny shoestring type, which are my favorite, and we’re coated in a delicious spice and I paired them with the curried ketchup. Delicious
I wish I had time to go back and get the Lobby Pops.. they looked so good.
The atmosphere of this place deserves 6 stars.
Amanda OConnor
The lobster roll was delicious and there was an incredible amount of lobster in it. The brioche roll was out of this world, perfectly toasted and great flavor. The French fries were fried nicely, a little too much seasoning for my taste. The set up was casual and the staff were friendly and accommodating. Great spot in a nice, walkable part of the city.
Neal Schaffran
We only had the lobster grilled cheese but it was amazing. The wife’s favorite on our trip. Definitely try the garlic mayo with it. The lime mayo was pretty good also. Decent selection of draft beer as well. Will definitely be back next time we’re in Portland.
Gloria Hall
Food & service was great! But $60 later and we were still hungry. Definitely a tourist spot & go here just to say they’ve been.
Maranda Nielson
Great place for lots of lobster options! Lobster roll was delicious. I also tried their bisque, which was good, but a very small portion. It is a bit expensive. We were seated right away and got our food quickly. Really good option if you are in the mood for lobster!
Corey Melker
Worth it. Oysters, lobsters, and all the things! The late afternoons (from 2-4) seem to be less busy.
Katie Hatch
Lobster tails on sticks - what’s not to love? Amazing fun and delicious menu items. Awesome vibe - great outdoor area out back. Beer selection is local and tops.
Mo Mehio
Undisputedly the best lobster I have had in my life. The freshness of coast-to-table food really shines in the taste of their lobster rolls, and is offered at a fairly low price against their competition. The atmosphere is charmingly vintage and the servers are all very nice.
crawford lloyd
Great atmosphere really good food definitely worth trying out!
MadDad Productions
I can't say enough about how delicious the surf and turf burger is! It's beautiful! The shoestring cut fries are lackluster, but have good seasoning. Choice of sauces make it interesting ! The atmosphere is much different than we expected! From the name alone, I thought it was a high end, fancy restaurant...its anything but! Place the order up front and they bring it to your table/booth/bar (similar to Salvage BBQ). More of a fun, easy going atmosphere. GREAT Beer selections! Definitely worth trying out.
katie parks
Loved the lobster roll and fries, but the surf and turf burger was the highlight of my Portland trip. I added avocado, grilled onions and the pineapple sauce and it was amazing
Get Real
I tried all the top Lobster roll spots, this is 100% #1... But it’s not just the food that makes this place great, it’s the service. I was with a group of 7 guys and they could not have done better service. Highly recommend this place, no need to explore on my next trip.
Vitaly Tomilin
Truly authentic experience, served fast, and beyond yummy. The place could b e a bit noisy and busy, but if you are a couple you will zoom right ahead! Untimaye Lobster roll and lobster burger (meat putty with lobster meat on top) are particularly good.
Chris Venturini
One of my favorite restaurant stops in Portland! If you're thinking about stopping in just do it! Lobster roll and oysters were great!
Tara C.
Good, good, good!
Guys, really just need to get them one more try before giving them the full 5 - they were good... something slightly lacking in the flavor of the lobster roll, both lobster & bun. SLIGHTLY. Plentiful portion of lobster on the lobster roll... got it with the additional ghee butter.
But everything was great about this place; awesome outdoor seating out back, also some red picnic tables & lights strung out front where the street is blocked off. Great customer service, cool vibe inside, etc.
C’mon guys, it’s literally that little bit of flavor lacking from the overall lobster roll - that’s what I came for, and that’s why I’ve got to return to up this that one extra star. ‘Cause they do deserve it. Absolutely would recommend Highroller!
Daniel Hashimoto
Absolutely delicious lobster fare. Tried the lobster grilled cheese, tacos, and of course the lobster roll. All came with generous portions of lobster. Can add avocado, bacon, extra lobster meat if you wish. Great beer selection and super friendly service. Highly recommended!
Christiana Wong
Wow, just wow! Loved the atmosphere, especially their music selection! It was on point. We ordered the lobby-pops and they were just amazing. They're so simple. They're lightly buttered with a lemon on the side. You honestly don't even need a lemon at all, but it brings out all the flavor in the lobster. My boyfriend ordered the hotdog and added lobster on it. It was also amazing! We had a choice to add sauce to it and decided to add the jalapeno mayo, and man, oh man, it was a great choice. They had a great selection of sauces. I would've loved to have all just to try them out! Lastly, we ordered the crab dip with chips. It was good, but filling! The chips were perfectly crisp with a good amount of Old Bay seasoning. The dip was very flavorful. We happened to meet a new friend, Bony R. Tony, didn't talk much but wow, so much swagger! Overall, I was really pleased with the service, how quick the food came out, and the flavor of the food. I would highly recommend coming here. I could eat those lobby-pops all day!
Brandon “Mr Brando” Hicks
Soon as I stepped off the plane I headed here. Had to come and get a lobster and crab roll to start my Maine tour and Highroller did not disappoint! The food and staff are awesome!
**update**
Well, I’m back in Maine and I am back at Highroller. Do not sleep on this place the food is banging! Still the same quality and taste.

First time having a lobster roll, $70 later my wife and I realized that cold unseasoned lobster is not our deal. The red chilli mayo with jalepeno mayo were really good. The fries. And the toasted bun were great too, but just don't share the love for cold lobster meat.
Rachel Rinkesmith
visited during C19 and let me tell ya this place has their stuff together. online ordering was easy and the people working the doors were patient (even with a ton of ppl bombarding them) and happy to explain it to you. we got a lobster roll with butter only which is how i prefer to get it if im trying a new place. i saved all the dope sauces for the fries and the lobster lollipop. its about as pricey as you expect lobster to be but they do a great job and dont skimp on flavor like some other places. no basic bun from a bag here.
Christina Coons
Really fun joint! Friendly staff and fast service. Lobster is SUCCULENT in all dishes! Easy parking with parking garage on same block. Best fries and CURRY KETCHUP... mind is blown 🤯 …
Anthony Wong
Terrific place for year round Maine lobster. Just as good is the huge selection of locally brewed beers and ales, there are some aged beers you must try. Lobsters were cooked perfect and the service was very friendly. Fries were not too memorable, but who goes for fries?! Great food
Garrett Romines
The fries are delicious and fresh. My friend did get food poisoning after finishing her lobster roll. The burgers are good. Love the 50’s decor
Jay Ritter
Went last week while in Portland and loved it. I had the burger with lobster and my wife has the lobster grilled cheese. Both were phenomenal. Great tap list as well! Staff is super friendly and the space is amazingly done.
Sara Choi
I came here for the novel cheese shell tacos and the she'll tasted like Cheez It's, which isn't necessarily a bad thing. I love Cheez its but the taste of it overpowered the lobster. there was also a sauce that I chose but I couldn't taste that either. The crab roll was delicious though, and it was even better with the melted butter.
Savannah Carlson
This place is so good I ate here twice on my visit. They stuff so much lobster into their rolls it’s impressive. Large claw meat. The cheese taco shell was really great, and the lobster pop was a whole tail cooked perfectly. I wish I could eat here everyday.
Zachary Jones
Pretty much the best lobster roll I’ve ever had. I grew up spending most of my summers in New England, and have had tons of lobster rolls. The lobster was delicate and was over flowing from the roll. I also really loved the Fried Lobby Pop (basically a lobster corn dog), will definitely be coming back again.
Vivi crosby
The lobster rolls were to die for, Ive been having constant cravings for it ever since I tried it! I wasn't expecting to have to pay upwards $30 for just one, but I would still recommend at least trying it once!
J Pro
Yummy lobster roll and lobster hamburger. The lobster is not killed on site, but still the quality and taste were pretty good for the price you pay. The fries were damn good. Don’t forget to check the beer menu, as they offer a treasure trove of local beers.
Kevin Ratliff
This was my 3rd lobster roll on my recent trip to Maine, and by far the best! When we entered the employee behind the counter was great at helping us navigate the menu and make a choice. I got the lobster roll, my wife got the burger, and we shared a basket of fries. The lobster roll was was large and well presented with fresh lobster. There were multiple different options for sauces; I selected the jalapeno mayo which was very good. The burger was fantastic! For a "lobster place" this was one of the best burgers I've ever tasted. It was charred and served topped with grilled onions (and added avocado). I think it was the seasoning they added that made the burger so good. The fries also had a unique seasoning that was delicious. Food was delivered right to the table as well as the soda that I ordered. Atmosphere was great and they had a big selection of craft beers (although I didn't get to enjoy one on this stop). Highly recommended!
David Seng
very nice beer selection, love the curried-ketchup and charred pineapple mayo. lobster and crab roll are both very good. Simple menu is nice as I prefer a place that can make a few items really well than one that offers many pages of meh.
G Alan Williams
The 4oz Lobster Roll was fabulous, I added the jalapeno sauce.
Rachel Shafer
I like their lobster pops are really neat and different. They call them Lobby pops. Not the best lobster rolls though, definitely more places you could go for way better lobster rolls. Great for a quick bite and a beer, my margarita was terrible.
M Maruf
Great food, decent price except the fries and chowder, which I think was overpriced. The lobster roll is oozing with lobster, more lobsters than I have ever seen in a roll, the bread is nicely toasted. We had a 15 minutes wait, while waiting, I checked out the are, nice neighborhood with a lot of stores around.
If you just want lobster roll I think this is the place to go.
Curtis Carpenter
Road tripped to Maine to try my first lobster and started at the Highroller Lobster Co. in Portland, Maine. My boys and I enjoyed the decor and design of the restaurant. We went at 1pm on and Friday and had no trouble getting a booth to sit in. My boys really enjoyed the Fried Lobby Pop which is a lobster tail that is treated like a corn dog. The had the Lobby Pop chilled which is a lobster tail on a stick. Fries rounded out our meal. It was all delicious and a great start to our lobster road trip.
Joseph Shinaberry
The lobster pop was pretty good. No work involved in devouring it, it was a bit smaller then imagined but is average size for a lobster tail. The beer selection was on point. This restaurant is like hybrid table service where you place the Order at the front or bar and they bring out the food to your table.
CN N
Come for the lobster rolls, stay for the attitude. This is such a quintessentially Portland, Maine eatery - combining the staple New England lobster roll with some 80s-inspired diner decor. The craft beer selection is equally on point. All in all, a must visit if you're in Portland.

REALLY good lobster rolls, although a bit pricey especially in the land of lobster. Love that I could customize with whatever dressing I wanted on the lobster. The lobby pop which is literally the meat of the lobster tail on a stick was tender and sweet, but still on the pricey side at $10. I'd still suggest stopping by to experience it, but look other places for lunch if your stay in Portland is longer than a day or two.

Fast, and easy - great contactless ordering during pandemic. There are a ton of different mayo flavorings that are super unique.
Jaja Aylaj
Good, not great. Extremely overpriced for the amount you get. Burger with Lobster tastes better than Lobster Roll. Lobster roll was padded with a bunch of lettuce at the base of roll. French Fries were overcooked. Dipping sauces were good but they gave you such a small amount. Nice staff. For food, Go to get your lobster rolls at Bite into Maine instead, taste better and gives you a heck of a lot more for your hard earned money!
Dennis Patterson
The food is great. The staff is great. The atmosphere is fun. About half of the booths are occupied by the skeletal remains of other customers. It's their way of maintaining social distancing. Its funny.
We enjoyed our visit and our meals.

An inventive place to share a unique Maine dining experience. Example?: How about a Maine lobster taco where the taco shell is entirely fabricated out of flat-grilled cheese? Yes... that is on the menu, along with some other pretty amazing things. Great food, nice people, and a one-of-a-kind experience. My advice: bring your wallet; the only thing you'll find for free here is the water. Average price from my experience; 2 people can properly enjoy the experience for around $45.

With tons of lobster places in Portland, ME, the highroller stands out with their great approach to social distancing in COVID times, and very tasty food.
They offer great oysters and lobster rolls/grilled cheeses, with a wide selection of sauces one normally doesn’t see in the US (curry ketchup, honey dijonnaise). Ordering is done online through scanning a QR code, and service is very prompt. Plenty of outdoor seating at the front and in the back, with heat lamps for the fall weather.
Definitely a place to check out in town!

In Portland for less than 24 hours and came here twice! Lobster rolls are plentiful and worth the money! Also tried a lobby pop and pineapple mayo which I highly recommend!
Nelisa Peralta
Best grill cheese in the world. In my opinion, the grilled cheese is a must. Next time I visit, I will stick with the grilled cheese and will not order lobster roll. Lobster roll is okay, I have eaten better but, their lobster grilled cheese is something out of this world.
haley yuen
Firstly I loved the aesthetic of the place. From the simple menu to the seating, just a enjoyable place to eat a meal. The prices are fair considering the quality of the food. I tried the crab roll and was genuinely pleased with the amount of crab that I was given. I also really enjoy the sauces they serve. Defintiely get the fries because they come with a side of sauce. The only negative is the size of the sauces. Loved the curried ketchup and the pineapple mayo sauce. My friend got the surf and turf burger which tasted amazing.

We waited about 20 minutes for a table around 2 in the afternoon on a weekday. I ordered two lobster rolls, one with lettuce the other without, butter on the side. Lobster was fresh and flavorful, but the roll without lettuce seemed to have more lobster meat. Washed my sandwich down with a local IPA which was delicious. They have a great beer selection with local beers on draft and others in bottles or cans. We would visit again.
Jared M
Had the absolute best lobster roll in my life before heading to the airport. When I am back in Portland I will definitely be going here again.
Mary Penny
Reasonable prices compared to other joints in Portland, but love the vibes at this place. We sat at the bar and the bartender/server was attentive, engaging, and offered us great suggestions. I love the variety of sauces with the lobster roll, and the fries are OLD BAY SEASONED. Delicious. Reasonably priced beer at the bar as well with a great selection of both draft, cans, including cider! Will be my go to in Portland now.
Cesar DeSouza
My wife and i stopped here after all the good reviews. To be honest we both had same opinion about the lack of taste. I got the lobster taco and she asked for a grilled cheese. Very small taco with a little lobster meat and nothing else . I`m giving 3 stars because the service are great here, but the food deserves only 1 star.
Kaley K
Highroller serves a quintessential Maine lobster roll. Their fries are fantastic with a variety of dipping sauces. Nice low key ambiance with good local beers and solid wine selection. The staff is super friendly.
Swit
Food: disappointed on the lobster roll; the amount of lobster was not worth the $19 price tag and it was smothered in sauce.
Service: order and pay at the counter, they will bring the food out to you. Anything else is self service
Rachel Satoh
So delicious. Tried the lime butter with my lobster roll along with avocado topping and caramelized onions. You can build your sides and toppings for the menu items here. What's not to love? This out of town girl is a happy camper after visiting this restaurant!
Fox and Sparrow Films
Absolutely delicious lobster rolls and frozen cocktails. Their fries are 10/10 amaze balls. Enjoyed it all outside on their picnic tables with our dog :) Making Covid summer safe and still fun! (MASKS REQUIRED! duh)
Hansong Kim
How such a nice. Super delicious plce. Lobster rolls and burger were great. Highly recommend.
Country Peach
This place was fine for what it was, a fast food seafood joint. We were visiting Maine for the weekend and it seemed appropriate to go somewhere and get lobster. We had heard about the famous lobster taco with cheese shell so I tried it. It was weird to me that the lobster was cold, not warm, but it tasted fine.
Austin Floyd
Awesome portions, the lobby pop is amazing and the best price you'll find on a good size chunk of lobster tail anywhere! Very friendly staff and good drink selection, cool atmosphere
Meena Y
If you're visiting Portland for the first time and looking for a delightful quick bite, Highrollers is the place to go! They serve lobster in some unique ways and the sauces are amazing! I tried the lobster roll with garlic mayo and the lobster ghee and it was delicious.
Due to Covid, everything is as touchless as possible. You have to order and pay online so have a card handy when visiting!
Maggie Lafratta
This place not only has the best lobster roll I've ever had, but it also has a really great vibe. The red buzzing neon lights, music with fire beats, and cool staff make it a perfect stop for any local or tourist coming by. Good drink selections as well!
Ashley Shivers
So. Let me start by saying my tastebuds are so happy right now. This good is so flavorful and amazing. The staff was very helpful in me putting together my meal. I could eat here every day it’s to fresh the place is clean there’s a bar as well. I would give it more than five stars.
Justin Kyle Tanner
Don't even play. From Mississippi to Maine this is the best I've ever had. Lenny and Joe's in CT comes in second but HR is in a league all its own. Plump lobster, zesty sauces, THOSE FRIES. Be hip and grab a seat. Love so much I went back twice in a day to try the Bisque. Would highly recommend their cold brew coffee. It’s so good.
Andrew Maddox
Superb lobster roll, great range of beer on tap (albeit I had the modelo which was outstandingly reasonable!), the lad behind the bar was well sound, friendly and attentive. Oh and they had Celebrity Skin by Hole playing when I walked in. Banger!
Kamal King
The staff is crazy cool, friendly and helpful. This is the spot y’all. Fresh lobster rolls, I had the one with avocado cause that’s how I flex. Did the lucky seven oysters and then Went for another seven. Kid friendly, don’t know about pets y’all but the food is fresh off the chain not to mention delicious.
Jennifer
A very friendly local bar & restaurant. Great food and they pride themselves on unique, variety of beers. Had cran roll full of meat and bisque (very sweet).
Con, super loud and restroom faces the dining room...no way to be discreet.
Chip Carlson
Had the lobster roll and lobster grilled cheese! Both were very tasty! Service was great also. Highly recommend!
Solana Ré
Cute, bright, cozy and delicious!
Don’t be fouled by its first impression, tho creative and playful, the decor could make you believe they are not that serious about gastronomy... but its food is high level stuff.
Come for the lobster sandwiches! They are to die for! Any salse will make you go to even and back.
You won’t regret this!!
Sara Butts
Sooo good! Was excited after reading all of the reviews and it did not disappoint! We got the mini rolls, Lobby Pop, and fries. For the mini rolls we did the lime mayo, jalapeño mayo, and lobster ghee! The lobster ghee was my favorite and the jalapeño was my boyfriends fav.
The lobby pop was great, but I’d choose the rolls over it personally:) the guy at the counter gave us a sampling of sauces for it (garlic mayo, honey dijonaise, pineapple mayo). So hard to choose a favorite between those three!! Each was soo good and I loved dipping g our fries in them!
Chris Slesarchik
Great food at reasonable prices for what you get, both in quality and quantity. The lobster rolls are excellent and pretty big compared to most other places. Ordering can get a little hectic when crowded but well worth the wait!
Samuel Watson
Very good lobster roll, bisque, and seasoned fries. Food comes out in under 10 minutes which we greatly appreciated. There is also a full service bar area. Prices seem to be average compared with other lobster spots. Lobster is not the only item on the menu, as hamburgers, hot dogs, and corn dogs are also served
LionHeart
This was my first time here. The food was great and the service was friendly. I really liked how I could just order directly from a QR code at my table. The food came so quickly!
The music they played and the disco ball were fantastic touches. I'd recommend!
Pina Lopez
We asked here in Portland, where can we go for a lobster roll for lunch? Out of 5, 3 of them recommended HR. Not disappointed at all, a little bit pricey but we're also here off-season. The rolls were delicious, huge chunks of lobster. The curry ketchup was great with the fries, and the bisque was also a great side!
Melissa H.
The lolly tail pop with warm butter melts in your mouth. The lobster roll is abundant but was cold and we requested butter. I wish it had been warm too. Overall, a good experience. Younger crowd and casual dining.
Liz Dent
Tasty but overpriced fast food with small sizes. We waited 30 minutes for a table so we could try lobster rolls. We ordered lobster rolls so we could try some lobster from Maine. They were tasty but $19 for a roll the size of my 10 year old's fist and $38 for a full sized roll was a shock, coming from Rhode Island where you can get 2 lobster rolls for the same price and they have more lobster and taste better. The staff was friendly enough but there was very little service as it's all ordered through your phone. If your short of options, this wasn't a bad place to eat, but there were much better places for the same prices in Portland.
Ashley Talon
Got a 2oz lobster roll w/ drawn butter to try it out, pretty pricey but good atmosphere, lobster roll was delicious. Can get cheaper elsewhere but this one definitely tastes better than what I've experienced in other places, and they have a variety of sauces for those looking to experiment. Friend got a burger which was good and great portion for the price!
Edward Steelman
So at first I thought the name was a play on the lobster rolls but then I got my bill and I realized what the name really meant 😅.
It was worth it and we did go back twice. Once for just some homemade craft whoopie pies and another time for more fresh delicious oysters and lobster grilled cheese!
My wife and I went classic on everything our first time and it was great. We got a lobster roll and a lobster grilled cheese and split everything.
On our second sit down meal we both got the grilled cheese and I added bacon and tomato and it was worth it. I highly recommend!
Erin Griffin
The dipping sauces! Such a highlight, lime mayo was a fave. Great lobster roll and fun options like the corn dog. Frosé is great too.
Alex
A few people recommended this restaurant so we got dinner here. We waited maybe 5 mins to get seated which was very quick. Everyone working there was very friendly. Ordering was a breeze - you pick food and pay right on your phone so there isn’t any delay placing your order or paying in the end. Our lobster roll and BLT sandwich were both excellent and decent size. Highly recommend.
Logan Seebach
10/10 recommend the Lobby Pop 👌🏼 Fun vibe, nice staff! …
Oby Sumampouw
Pretty good lobster roll, but there are better options out there I think. This taste quite similar to lobster roll you can get in new york or california. They're open till late so its good for late night dining.
Debra Noe
Opened promptly at 11AM and started doing a good business immediately! In addition to tables outdoors in front they have a patio out back. Best feature is that you can get a 2oz. lobster roll for $17 if you don't want to pay over $30 for a full one. QR code ordering from outside if you want or pay cash at counter. Great quality for a tourist spot!
Edwin Acevedo
3 lobster rolls, a lobster grilled cheese and a basket of fries led to another basket of fries, not so much for the fries but for the jalapeno and lime mayos, then 3 whoopie pies. Pretty much a successful dinner.
TheLeakingGenius
Had a good fish battered sandwich. Soft with a nice flakey batter. Not super flavorful but no complaints! Pretty good spot.
Chris Tucker
Best lobster I have ever had in my life! Tried the lobster pop, lobster taco, Caesar salad, and fries. Everything was great. Staff was super nice and friendly. This place is a must visit!!!
Sammy
Top notch food, service, set up. Amazing staff. Love love love this place!!!! The lobster grilled cheese is to die for. I will be forever scared from this place. Great job highroller staff.
Marbel U
One of the best lobster rolls I had in Portland! They make an amazing Bloody Mary too!
Shannon Cherry
Had a small wait on a Saturday afternoon to get in, but well worth it! Lobster roll with garlic mayo was scrumptious!!
Cassandra Fishback
My husband ordered the lobster roll and I had the cheese crisp taco. It was super good. They have choices of different mayos like like and garlic to choose from and you can choose 2 different sauces and elect to put them on the side. Good beer selection and good French fries. Clean and fast. You order at the front or at the bar which is convenient. We had our food so quickly.
arielys luyo
The aesthetic of this place is so classic skater and I love it. We tried the lobster roll flight & chose the butter, lime sauce and garlic sauce and they were all so good! Everything tasted fresh and the staff was super nice. Took a few minutes to stop by the store and grabbed some very cute merch. Would definitely stop back in.
Bryan Wright
Good food but severely overvalued. Not sure exactly what I was expecting. It's very hipster, which I'm totally here for so that's okay. They encourage you to order by phone, which is also okay. We each got a small lobster roll. They were small small. I knew it was only 2 oz but when that's half a hot dog bun. The lobster was great. They brought us some green sauce that was to die for but I don't even know what it was. I know lobster is expensive so I expected to pay but the cost for 4 bites of food ... hmmmm.. We got the fried lobster pop also. The breading was the star. I thought the lobster meat itself was overcooked.
All in all, I'm happy I came all the way from PA to try it, but I'm not sure I got anywhere near $70 worth of food.
Lauren Keen Aumond
We ended up at the High Roller for a fairly late dinner. We also got a couple of drinks. This was my first losbter roll in Maine and it was amazing. The meat was cold, which I wasn't expecting but it worked well with the butter sauce. My husband got a corn dog because Idk why.
Make sure you try this place at some point!
Douglas Rigby
Plenty of different ways to eat your lobster , good beers and funky drinks . Plus the best is the people working here , through these crazy busy times keep up the great work . Thank you for making this stop on are vacation a must stop
Marissa Whitworth
Lobster grilled cheese?! I think yes. Add avocado or tomato or whatever you think it might need to fit your fancy but ultimately, it’s a bomb dot com sammie all on its own. I had a hard time choosing from their menu but was very, very happy with what I got. Will be back, for sure.
Brandon Thomas
Fantastic food, fantastic drink menu and customer service. The service is quick and the decor also is nice. This is a must go if you are looking for a lobster roll
F. Valle
I don’t eat lobster but still come here for their crab roll. But everyone that goes with me, loves the lobster. The bread is done just right. I am picky about my French fries and these ones are amazing. Great selection of sauces and beers.
Can get extremely busy at times. But a must go place here in Portland.
Celmari B.
Great lobster roll and the surf and turf burger is surprisingly good. Service is also very good.
Stephanie Moya
Amazing spot! Lobster rolls were best we've had. This place was recommended by 3 different locals we ran into on our visit here and it did not disappoint! Must-see in Portland!
Lori Sevald
Great for a quick sit down lunch. Love all the choices of sauces for the lobster rolls - favorite at the table was the charred pineapple mayo! Fresh oysters were delicious, falafel sandwich best I've ever had, and the oatmeal cream pie a great sweet treat for sharing!
AC
Absolutely local experience. Fresh and specialized takes on the lobster roll. The meaty portions are sure to satisfy. Heavy and filling, you will leave feeling satiated and ready for an afternoon nap.
Wesley Dz
Great lobster rolls and good service. However they have the worst ordering system I've ever seen. While simplistic, the proposed gratuity options behind it do not match the service received.
Pay your employees better and don't rely on your patrons to make up wages.
Cory Jones
Just came from Philly to high roller me and my fiance the food was great we both enjoy it very much if you ever in Portland and you want a lobster roll or a lobster Burger or a corn dog lobster the high roller lobster company is the best you would not be disappointed and that pina colada was good too
Alissa Delorey
One of our favorite "treat yoself" lunch spots in Portland. As it should be, the lobster quality is top notch, no fishy taste at all, how fresh lobster should be. We get the cheese shell lobster tacos and they are incredible. The cheese pairs so well with the lobster. Drinks are always great too. This is an expensive stop, but a must stop in my book. We especially enjoy dining outside.
Jessica Crescimano
Delicious lobster rolls and oysters. Great staff and cocktails.
James B
Spent a whole week in NH, Maine, and Mass, and the best l lobster roll I had. They provide a lot of options/add ons for customization, along with a great beer list and service
Chanel Lewis
Everything here is so delicious! The lobster roll, the smash burger, the old bay fries. Worth the wait.
Andrew
Always a gem. I've been here many times now and it's always a treat. The lobster roll flight allows you to test out a few different sauces, but I'd suggest just trying different items instead: Lobster Roll, Oysters, and maybe a Lobster Pop.
Jacqueline Scarlett
Food was good. Fresh oysters, one of the best oyster i ever had. Service was excellent 👍 …
Santhosh Jose
Quite a popular spot. Parking right in the street might not be easy. Great lobster roll. The junior size lobster is quite small. The haddock burger is a miss. Their sauces are amazing! Probably the highlight.
Jason Noel
Excellent staff and vibe. I can't stress enough how much you need that lobster ghee on your roll. Top notch lobster roll with some fun options.
C Brown
I had the flight of lobster sandwiches (lobster ghee, jalapeño mayo, and garlic mayo) I decided I'm a purist, if I'm eating lobster I want to taste lobster above all else. So from now on I'll get butter or ghee. Lobster meat was good fries were good too (ate wayyy too many) I enjoyed curry ketchup, lime mayo, and charred pineapple mayo on my fries. Recommend. Next time I'd just do 4oz of lobster, and maybe get some oysters.
Jeremy Petersen
One of the best lobster rolls I had during a 10 day coastal Maine trip.
Daniel Antoniazzi
Middle of the road lobster rolls from my point of view. A little pricey for the portion size and somewhat outdated atmosphere. Not bad, but not anything special.
Valerie Rebmann
Delicious food, good beer selection, lovely view from the outside patio on downtown Portland! Their fries are aaaaaawesome.
Jon Noeldner
Talk about a wonderful place that always keeps their word about pricing. Had a small lobster roll bite that was fantastic. Each morsel was as good as the next with friendly conversation at the bar from locals. Highroller Lobster Co. does not change their pricing during peak season to reflect “market price” on the lobster rolls. Instead, they offer a high quality product, great atmosphere and steady pricing.
Tania Trbojevich
The lobster grilled cheese and the oysters were super good!! Would come here again!
Katrina Shaffer
Great space out back to eat outside. Scan a QR code at your table and ordering is super easy. Great for large groups that is going to want to split checks.
The food was amazing also!
Jessie Deardorff
One of the servers said “Mainers can’t wait for the tourists to leave”. I feel that’s authentic and fair
lizzie ashby
Best lobster roll we have ever eaten
Andrew Litwin
I loved The Highroller! The lobster grilled cheese was amazing, as were the fries and dipping sauces. Staff was super friendly and helpful with recommending selections. Good selection of beers too!
Kimberlee Abt
I wasn't super impressed with the food (I had lobster bisque and got the house chips). Some of my friends had fries and I tried them and it tasted like they sprinkled chicken ramen seasoning on them. The house chips were pretty tasty though. And they had water refill stations, which were nice. It wasn't terrible, I liked the food I got, I just didn't love it.
Bryce Bensema
Great place for Lobster rolls AND the unique Lobby Pop, a lobster corn dog! Choices for landlubbers as well. Fun, inviting atmosphere and the staff is friendly, helpful and accommodating!
Derek McLain
This place was recommended by the front desk at the hotel I was staying at. Really glad I took their advice! The lobster roll was great, and beer selection on point. The service was quick, too. I really liked the curry ketchup I got with my fries.
Wesley Price
Unique indoor and outdoor space with a neat aesthetic and delicious lobster rolls! The wait to get a table can be a bit long, but the food is great and the little merchandise shop off to the side is fun. Staff is kind, too!
Amit Prayaga
Went here for lunch and got a lobster roll (with lobster ghee) and a basket of fries (charred pineapple mayo on the side). The lobster roll was fantastic and the charred pineapple mayo is great if you're looking for a pineapple flavor with your fries.
Crystal Lefoy
Decent, but overprice lobster rolls. I LOATHE how your food is served as its made instead of all at once. SO if you order a lobster roll + fries + lobster lollipop + corn you will get of them at random times. This is NOT the experience we were looking forward to - we are not toddlers who eat one thing at a time so please refrain from serving customers as such. Also the $17 lobster pop was about 3.5 inches in length and 1.5 inches in width - the largest rip off ever.
Lainey Tate
Hands down the best seafood I’ve ever had. We plan whole trips to Portland around this place. I wish I could give it more stars. Amazing atmosphere, great people, and awesome apparel.
Katie Gauthier
Whaaaat! So so good! Everyone loved it.
What a great Maine Lobster experience.
They had variety of dipping sauces and the lobster roll was stuffed and beautiful haha. We would definitely come here again!!
Rahul Sharma
Good food, but wait was very long I guess I might have picked a wrong day.
Paul Orlik
Every time I visit Highroller gets better and better. The menu always has exceptional small changes, the beer menu is always incredible and this time I tried a frozen cocktail and it was just amazing to pair with my lunch. Love this place, will always recommend to friends visiting Portland and will always gladly give them a visit each time I come to the city!
Chris Miller
Delicious all around, lobster roll surf n turf burger, fries and we got some Love Point Freeport Maine oysters 😋
Charles Bernardo
I was not impressed with the food or service. When you have to order everything on a app yet they have only two choice for a tip, 18% or 20% what actual service did they provide? My Lobster pop was a great food idea but puny. My girlfriends oysters were good according to her but she did not like placing additional spp orders for more drinks or food. Overrated on reviews, great mural. HIRE WSITERS THAT DO SOMETHING, we saw both servers that delivered sitting at the bar drinking with their unearned tip.
Helen Zhang
The taste is quite common and not special. The lobster rolls were cold and not very fresh, not as we expected. And the lobster grilled cheese sandwiches were too oily. Will not come again:(
Akwasi Asabere
I came here with high expectations and I wasn’t disappointed at all. I was eyeing the lobster grilled cheese before I even stepped foot in the place and it was everything I hoped it would be. Absolutely no skimping on the lobster. Literally every bite had lobster in it. I know it’s just a grilled cheese but I could tell that it was just made extremely well. My whole experience there was great, though I did coke at a time where it wasn’t that busy. But even it if were knowing what I know now that wouldn’t have deterred me from enjoying my time and the food there.
Rhiannon Beyerle
Such an awesome place! The food is fantastic and unique. The staff are upbeat and friendly even when they’re having a dinner rush. Entire atmosphere is great and it’s a must stop in Portland.
Justin Kiena
Will def be stopping by here again next time I'm in Portland. Amazing in quality and quantity. The lobster "roll" served in the crispy tortilla made of burnt cheese was out of this world, and overstuffed with lobster. Bloody Mary was on point as well. Expect a wait, and a worthwhile wait, when you arrive. LOBSTAAAHHHHHH!!!!!!
3275362
More of a bar spot than a restaurant. 4 page menu, 3 are for adult beverages and one page is for food. They have their famous cheese shell lobster tacos, stuffed crabmeat roll, a burger and a few more things. Interesting sauces and interesting tasting french fries. Not a bad place to try out, just different.
Shay Prunty
Best lobster rolls I had on this vacation. Also, the home made whoopee pies are the best I had anywhere. This is a definite must vist on any trip to Portland.
Yuru
Not the best roll i have had. But the place has outdoor and inside seating. They have okay drinks. This place is just okay in terms of food but to come out and have fun I can see it gets pretty fun
Christopher Jacobs
This place had the best lobster roll ever. I am amazed that it was better than some of the big names in New England seafood.
Doug West
Best Bloody Mary and Lobster roll I've ever had! Also, the Bakers Dozen rocks. : )
Brian Doughty
Awesome food, great beer, worth the wait. Make sure you try the lobster taco!
Update 2021! Their new outdoor space is awesome and the food remains incredible.
Dilaksan Gnani
By far the best place to have lobster rolls, been trying many places but this hits the spot right on. Would recommend many people especially someone like me travelling.
Linas Zajankauskas
It’s like a diner: deliberately understated, order before you sit to wait, but all that goes well with scrumptious lobster rolls. Grilled cheese sandwich with lobster was actually better than regular lobster roll
Jake Crow
Been there twice now while on vacation and both times it was incredible. Highly recommend the lobster roll and the lobster grilled cheese.
