Reviews of Dutch Eating Place

Extremely good service, and food. It will be very difficult to make your mind out the great choices, I went for the Grilled Reuben Special, my son for the Philly Cheesesteak, we weren't disappointed, you won't be either. The place has a dinner-style bar, fast service too, be careful the food is freshly cooked, aka hot. Resist the temptation to bite, I bet you won't…!

Breakfast is meant to be simple (in my opinion). I love a savory/sweet combination that’s because I can never choose just one. This classic bacon, egg and cheese with jam sammy had the perfect balance of just that. 10 out of 10 and if your not from around the area this breakfast spot if located in Reading Terminal Market, a Philly favorite for local small business bites

Fabulous breakfast eatery. We stopped by two days in a row for breakfast. The pancakes are the best we have had and we have tried many different pancake places. :)
The staff are very pleasant, service is very quick and efficient. The food arrives quickly and is made well. Everything is very clean. It is diner style seating and so there may be a wait or alternatively you could take a to go order and eat in the larger common area in the market.
The pancakes are large and topped with a generous dollop of butter. The eggs are light and fluffy. The bacon is the real deal: thick cut and well cooked. Fresh homemade strawberry jam at the table. The Apple dumpling is huge and perfect for sharing. We enjoyed the food and experience very much. Definitely check them out. :)

Great breakfast food.
The dine-in area is usually packed, a good indication of the quality of the restaurant. We had to wait a few minutes, but it was well worth it.
We only paid ~$24 for breakfast sandwich, egg platter and French toast!

Unquestionably the best place to grab a bite in Philadelphia, best food at the lowest prices. You’ve never seen pancakes as big as the ones they serve here, fresh mashed potatoes, literally everything on the menu is unbelievable. I fed my entire family of seven people for $37 and the service was so amazing my tip was actually higher than the bill. You must eat here.

You must try the “Apple Dumplings” if you are visiting the Dutch Eating Place inside the Reading Terminal Market! This was our first dish (dessert) to try from this place and it was warm and comforting to eat with coffee as a afternoon snack! Another great thing about here is their hospitality/service! I love how the lady treated us entire time when we were there! She was really nice & kind, and also asked first to take pictures for us!
The Apple dumpling: It seems like they put the whole entire apple inside the dough and the cinnamon was not too overpowering, it was right amount of spice & sweetness to make this dish so delicious!
Their pancakes also look really good so we will definitely come back this place to try their other breakfast/brunch dishes! I’m pretty sure all their dishes made with flour will be great since the apple dumpling we had was really soft & creamy!
Their homemade lemonade was really refreshing, not too sweet, and didn’t taste like artificial flavored drink like you normally get from other places!

AMAZING!!!!! I could eat here EVERYDAY. The breakfast was amazing, very generous portions, fresh butter, homemade strawberry preserves, and a very friendly staff. The food was DELICIOUS!!!! When I come back next month I will be here every day for breakfast. YOU HAVE TO EAT HERE!!!!!

As everyone says very fast service, I don't know how the 2 women at the griddle do it the entire counter plus to go. Our food came out in under 3 minutes
The egg bacon jam sandwich was great
The French toast very good and had to get scrapple. Not my taste but my gf enjoyed it.
We went at 830 on a Saturday and got seat right away. Good stuff

This is a delicious breakfast place! The pancakes and French toast were amazing 👏 😋. The fresh squeezed orange juice is a must!
I highly recommend it 👌 👍 …

Best breakfast on the east coast. I forgot to take pictures but I had two eggs over medium, scrapple, cream chipped beef. My friend and I shared this loaded home fries and a grilled sticky bun.
The best service too, thank you Emily!!
😋 😋 😋
Karla Gia
Very great food and service! The pancakes are very big! I recommend getting there when they open at 8 am because it can get crowded later on in the day.

I always enjoy and have a hearty breakfast here. Everything is delicious, The Pancakes, The Eggs, The fresh Orange juice. Please come early to avoid the long line. Kiss, Olan

This place came up in so many searches on where to eat in Philly that we had to try it. We actually ate here twice. The first time was breakfast because that's what they're known for. We had eggs Sunnyside up and scrambled with sausage and a side of scrapple and the special of the day apple cinnamon french toast. Oh, I almost got the fresh squeezed oj. The scrambled eggs were so fluffy and perfectly cooked. I can't stand when eggs are overcooked and dry. The scrapple was the best I've had. The second time around we got lunch. A chicken salad sandwich on rye and an apple dumpling. Everything was great here and super inexpensive. We will definitely be going back to the Dutch eating place to try the other menu items next time in Philly. They close fairly early between 3-4pm and get busy quickly so get there early if you want to sit at the counter.

Not super impressed by this place, and I'm dutch lol. It feels like this is just very old fashioned, with the diner setting and costumes the staff wear. Their menu is super dated and the food is just extra buttery and nothing good beyond that. No vegetarian or vegan options. The workers wear their masks under their nose which is really irritating.
Francois Cournil
An absolute delight! We had the Reuben and the Philly steak, both excellent, with a generous serving of fries. The waitress was awesome.
Just go!
Ginny Love (nanciGWP)
Such a good experience. Even waiting for a seat, people are patient. Food, wow! I had pancakes & French toast the days I was there, fresh made. Go!
Jerlyn Yeo
very affordable with huge portions. wish the apple dumpling crust was flakier as it was a little thick. i think whip cream goes better than with heavy cream (what i picked). scrapple tastes like luncheon meat basically
Quateria Mckenzie
Woke up late the morning I ate here and came to see that they were still serving breakfast at 11 which was a plus for me. Was happy to be able to get a late breakfast. It was tasty.
Sam
Delicious breakfast and amazing service. A great diner vibe and very attentive staff.
The scrapple was to die for. The first time I tried it and fell in love with it.
The apple dumpling at this place is highly rated. Very glad that I tried it.
Annie
Great diner. Just sit at an open bar seat and order. Service was quick and food was delicious.

I was visiting from CA & it was my childhood girlfriend's birthday. We have known each other since kindergarten! We both love The Reading Terminal in Philly and The Dutch Eating Place is our go to spot!
Alexandra M.
We loved this place. Breakfast was so good it was our go to each morning visiting Philadelphia. Costumer service was excellent. Definitely one of my favorite places for breakfast. Now I dream of their pancakes. ♥️
Joe Boyle
To be honest we stopped there for the Apple Dumplings, but they were awesome. they were perfectly seasoned and not too sweet and came with whipped cream on top since we were eating at the counter. I did see other people getting some of the lunch special of turkey platter and it was huge and looked great as well.
Missy
The food and service is great. I had the best Sloppy Joe ever here. One of my favorites. The fries are so delicious. My husband had a scrumptious Rueben. Can't wait to go back.
The girls working here are so pleasant and friendly with lovely smiles. Thank you!!
Kristen Allison
So delicious for brunch. I've never had turkey bacon like they make, it was so good and filling.
Graciela Conklin
Another great place to eat while visiting Philadelphia! Wanted to try this place because we saw it recommended by one of the food network shows. We had a Philly steak sandwich. Service was great! Limited seats.
Laila S
Came across Dutch eating place in town for a few days - that initial breakfast sold us. We ate here for the next few days. The staff were always extremely welcoming & the food was fresh and always well prepared. Big fan of the loaded home fries & the apple turnover is phenomenal! Best eatery in the reading terminal!
Paul Milo
A well-oiled machine. One waitress is able to take care of the entire restaurant while being super attentive and they get your food out routinely in under 5 minutes. Prices are really cheap for what you're getting and portions are large. I've been for breakfast and lunch before and enjoyed both. Hot turkey sandwich and Reuben were very good last I tried.
Erik Hrin
The Reading Terminal Market is an adventure within itself, but the Dutch Eating Place has some of the best breakfast food I've had in many years! Everything was so delicious and well done. Just be prepared of the setting, if you're not used to the Terminal Market, it's a little hard to understand. But this is a must stop for us when we're in town!
Jan Klincewicz
I LOVE this place for breakfast. One of these days, I'm going to try a grilled sticky gun, but the chipped beef on home fries fills me up so much I can barely eat lunch. A nice black coffee and a cold milk, and I am ready to go back to sleep for an hour. Service is always sweet and you'll find yourself elbow-to-elbow with REAL Philadelphians who know where to eat breakfast.
alainart
It was just phenomenal. I got the cinnamon apple French toast thing and it was sooo good
Wayne Wilkinson
Holy smokes - the pancakes are good and BIG - the proportions of the rest of the food is just as big, and delicious.
It's a unique place where you get to sit beside a complete stranger and eat a meal, share a laugh and leave as acquaintance.
The prices were, surprisingly, low. The rest of Reading Station (whatever it's called) is something to be experienced as well.
Howard Dai
Heard lots of great things so came by on a Tuesday morning for breakfast. Was on my own so was able to find a seat right away. Ordered the apple cinnamon toast off their daily special. Quick service! Wished I had tried the scrapple as that seems to be a Pennsylvania classic. Guess I'll have to visit Philly again!
Tina Remington
Service was great. Food was ok. Yes the oh was fresh but very warm. The oatmeal was weird. Overcooked. Left it on the counter. Turkey sausage is a big roll type. The bacon was presented very soft. Blueberry pancake was gritty.
Fresh ingredients but not up to par.
Isabelle Winstead
Fantastic prices with equally fantastic customer service! I am taking the greyhound and didn’t have a lot of time, so I called in, explained my situation, and they started making my order before I even arrived! Super quick turnaround for those in a rush, but also seems like the type of place one could take their time in. The apple cinnamon French toast was DIVINE. And only $5??? Crazy. LOVED IT!!
Fred Yen
Our go to place when in the Market. Their staff is always friendly, attentive, and accommodating. Foods are quick, plentiful, and hit the spot. Always go for the daily special when the time is of concern. Can't go wrong with this corner gem.
Foodlover Girl
One of the spots we really wanted to visit while our trip to Philadelphia was Reading Terminal Market. It is kind of like Chelsea Market in NYC, but bigger and wider. We decided to get a breakfast at Dutch Eating Place. They offer Pennsylvania Dutch fare, all made from scratch.
When we got there, there was a line formed in front of the cashier counter already. But then, we realized we were in line for a take out spot. Their seating area is located to the left side of the main cashier counter. Good thing we spotted before too long!
They only have counter seats, and it can get a bit tight when it is full. The staffs here are dressed in the traditional Pennsylvania Dutch attire, which was fun.
We were there before their lunch menu starts at 11am, so we were limited to their breakfast menu. We ordered Apple Cinnamon French Toast Special and Breakfast B.L.T.. The Apple cinnamon French Toast was really nice and fluffy, but didn’t have much apple flavor. Very filling, comforting and satisfying. The Breakfast B.L.T. was nice and big, enough to share unless you are super hungry. Crazy amount of ingredients packed between the toasts, eggs and bacon were coming out everywhere, awesome! They were both very tasty.
This spot takes cash AND credit card, which was helpful. The one thing is that they run the credit card once you give them the card, so if you want to pay for the tip with credit card, you need to tell the server how much tips to add onto it before you hand them the card. The service was friendly and efficient. We really enjoyed our experience here.
J Lee
Apple Dumplings were for sure the super star and the staff took the service to the moon. My loaded home fries were hot warm and tasty. I loved every bit of it.
Stephen Bryant
Ate breakfast here twice and it was great both times. The bacon sandwich with jam was delicious! Super friendly staff as well.
Nia Daye
Since we were in that part of the city, decided to grab food from one of the places in Reading Terminal and landed on this place. The service is pretty fast considering it was a Saturday and they had a lot of people coming through. The food was pretty good. My omelette was a little runny so was a little disappointed by that but it was still good. So was everything else we ordered (loved the French toast!). And I will say the price point is amazing! So affordable and inexpensive, which is wasn't expecting. We had 2 omelette platters, a French Toast platter and 2 orange juices and it all came up to just under $30!
Would definitely grab breakfast here again if I'm in the neighborhood.
Tyler
I’ve been wanting to come back and try since the first time I got it and this time I got lunch. Still a great portion, friendly, and quick service. This time I went for lunch and got the turkey sandwich platter.
Wanyu Huang
I just love the big portion (as a girl) - the price is also good!
Chris Brewer
Nice people, great food (big portions) - and the scrapple!
Hannah K
Dutch Eating place is an experience. Get there early if you actually want to get a seat. They have huge pancakes with basically a 1:1 butte to pancake ratio. Eggs are done well here and the scrapple is quality - though not the best in Philly. I have heard great things about the apple dumplings as well. Overall worth a stop by if it's not too crowded.
Farid Rahme
Came to try their famous hot apple dumplings, wasn’t as good as expected.
Donald Hower
If you are looking for fast, convenient, affordable Pennsylvania Dutch (fashioned food then this place will have your manna from heaven! There is a counter available for dining and to-go services available as well! The food is assembled in an efficient, orderly, and clean manner that you will enjoy watching!
Debra Caires: She Her Hers
Never a bad plate of food—no matter the time of day! The mashed potatoes and gravy are fabulous! BBQ beef superb.
Angela C
Awesome little diner inside reading terminal market. The Turkey platter and roast beef platter are amazing. Great price, friendly service. Quick service, ample seats to sit down. Seating area is counter service.
Aaron Rogers
Pretty great brunch inside Reading. We had an egg and bacon sandwich on a Kaiser roll, apple cinnamon French toast, and a country omelette (not pictured). The sandwich was fantastic - bread was buttery delicious with a ton of eggs and bacon. The French toast was heavy on cinnamon and needed more apple flavor.
That butter though! Delish! Service was quality. Would definitely try the Hot Turkey dinner if we went back.
Mark
As seen on t.v great food great service 👍 best breakfast ever I also went back for lunch 😋 I recommend the turkey Swiss tomato bacon melt mmmmmm mmmmm delicious .
Rabina Mainali
The cheesesteak sandwich I had was delicious. The ladies were great at handling the crowd.
Would go again.
Arman Mazumdar
Absolutely fantastic. Food was delicious and hot and fresh. Service was very friendly. I would recommend 10/10

This Amish owned eatery always satisfies my food yearnings. The hamburgers are OUTSTANDING...nothing beats the freshly ground meat grown on an Amish farm. The portion size of their selections completely fills a large plate with great home cooking. I can personally recommend just about everything on the menu (I hate scrapple no matter who makes it), but my friends say it is wonderful. The apple dumplings are beyond description, and people line up just for them. So next time you are at the Reading Market, do your belly a favor and come here.
Storm
There is so much to say about this place but to sum it up...WONDERFUL doesn't begin to describe it. The food is superb and every single staff member is hardworking and hospitable. This place can be very busy at times so prepare for a short wait. Can't wait to visit again!
William “Bill” Bergmann
Held more promise than it produced, at least for us. Massive blueberry pancakes with few blueberries. Apple french toast with similar lackluster flavor. Fast service, everyone raves about this place, could have been an off day.
Mayor Mike
Absolutely delicious food with a friendly staff. The pancke was perfect and exactly what we both wanted. Cheese steak was fantastic, very tasty. So much so, it needed nothing else (burger sauce, ketchup, hot sauce,...) Quite an experience and would definitely go back!

I was visiting Philadelphia for a conference and was staying at a nearby hotel. They day we were leaving, we decided to come here for breakfast, as on a previous day we could not find a place (it was very busy). I love places like these where you get to talk to other customer while enjoying delicious food! Both my boss and I were extremely satisfied with the food quality as well as the service. The quantity was so huge that we did not feel hungry until late afternoon.
The ambiance of the place is just amazing! I would highly recommend this place to anyone!
Denise Fennell
Great food - a must place to visit if you're have never ate there.
William Archer
Wow! This place is just really fantastic in every way. You sit at a classic lunch counter where you get great service (servers and others made sure to check in on us with a smile just the right amount). The food is classic diner fair but just better: I asked for lettuce tomatoes and onions on my breakfast sandwich and got dark leafy greens instead of iceberg, the butter on the toast is clearly homemade, and it all just tasted wonderful. Finally, the price is insanely good - especially for being in the middle of a city. Can't say enough good things about this place.
Jason C
Been coming here for almost 10 years. Best place for blueberry pancakes, turkey melt sandwich, rueben, sloppy Joe's, and a cheeseburger. The homemade lemonade is the best.
Caleb Stoltzfus
The best breakfast in Philly. Large portions and prompt service!
Megan Sellinger
Delicious for breakfast. Very quick and friendly service, not a big wait but if you have a party bigger than 2 either split up or expect a wait. I had apple cinnamon french toast with a side of scrapple. Amazing. We also got an apple dumpling and shoo fly pie to take home. DO NOT MISS the apple dumpling. It was by far the most delicious dessert I had in Philly.
Joe Davis (Chilly)
bring your appetite and get ready for the best blueberry pancakes and scrapple in the world. everything here is delicious. try their dumplings too.
Regina B
Always happy for an opportunity to eat here. The bacon jam sandwich was great!
Martin P
Did not open when the market is open. But have been there previously many times. Quiteb an experience and super delicious
SUO Family
Love the taste of their homemade strawberry jam. My daughter had pancakes and they were great. Great taste and great people. Friendly and professional service, place is very busy.
Alysia Malmstrom
On a crowded market Saturday during winter holiday we were fortunate to walk right up to two seats at their counter. The service was very friendly and quick. My husband and I both had a delicious, warm, and gooey reuben sandwich, served with giant shares of homestyle, fresh cut fries. We also split a warm, cozy, and decadent apple dumpling served with a container of heavy cream for dessert. The food was worth braving the crowds of Reading Market. Yum!
LaLa Dolce
The Blueberry pancakes are no joke. You can get 1, 2, or 3. Our server had to warn me that the 3 stack were huge so fyi. The eggs with cheese and turkey bacon were good. I've also been here during lunch and had the grilled Reuben and that was just Delish. The lemonade is freshly made and is a must try.
Melissa Cardin
Fast and friendly counter service. Food was delicious and pretty much exactly what you'd expect from a place like this. Loved it!
Sruthi Vaylay
As always, amazing food and customer service. Prices are very cheap and quality of the food is never disappointing. My favorites are the apple french toast and open faced turkey or roast beef sandwiches. The line moves quickly, so the wait is really not bad
Jaime Luse
Excellent blueberry pancake and scrabble breakfast in the Reading Terminal Market. Friendly and fast service.
Brian Austin
Massive pancakes. Even on the menu is amazing. One of my favorite places in Reading Terminal.
Family Hendrickson
The apple dumpling is every bit as amazing as the other reviewers say it is. I am going to try to make this dessert at home. The fresh squeezed orange juice was wonderful! The only comment I might add is that the cinnamon was too intense in some bites of the french toast and not in others so a more even distribution would have made it perfect.
Hell Ena
Best breakfast place in the Market!!! The apple dumpling is my new favorite dessert. I love it when staff are very friendly and accommodating. They are all smiles and love to chat with customers. You can clearly see that they love what they’re doing and almost everyone who sat down to eat are all happy and satisfied with the food and great customer service they provided. This is how you gain loyal customers! I would definitely come back when I’m in town.
Allison Ramsey
Oh my I ordered the stack pancakes. When the waitress bought it and sat the plate on the counter those where so big I felt like I was in an eating contest. Huge pancakes the size of the oblong plate. My mom and I ate that day.
Amy Brown
This is an essential place to eat when visiting Philadelphia - the best pancakes and crispy bacon that I have ever had!
Thomas Schlosser
The blueberry pancakes were huge and amazing! The orange juice tasted super fresh. The line moved fast and the staff was friendly.
John Lee
You will eat very well and your belly will be very full but your wallet won't take a hit. Had 6 meals one week, everything was awesome and my kids really loved the hot turkey sandwich
Gina Reagan
I 💕😘 love the Dutch Eating Place, I always order their Hot Turkey Platter it's delicious and it's a BIG Platter the mashed potatoes are real potatoes. They have a great breakfast 🥞🍳 too.
Mel J
This is a great spot in the Reading Terminal Market. Always busy but high turnover so we didn't have to wait long. The food was tasty and huge servings we couldn't finish. Great service too.
Melanie Fortin
Friendly service, great food (bring your appetite quantities are surprising) and best homemade strawberry jam I had since my grandma's
Oliver Karam
One of the best cheesesteaks we’ve ever eaten. The meat was so tasty!
Trevor Adams
Best breakfast in all of Philly. Don't forget to take an Apple Dump to go! It will make you believe in God.
Tim Forbes
I Love the READING TERMINAL MARKET
My favorite is Dutch Eating Place
Went for Lunch with my friend Jimmi
Arthur Jurao
Stopped by Reading Terminal Market on the way to the train station, and when I saw the sign that said to "try our apple dumpling," I figured, why not?
I've never had one before, so I thought it would be like a pork dumpling but with apple instead of pork, but it's legit an entire apple that's been baked and my body wasn't ready.
It was so delicious I thought I was going to die after. I might just visit Philly just to eat another sometime. Shout out to Rosanna!
Leslie Nnadi
Great food! The meat and cheese omelet was delicious!
Veronica Rendon
Apple cinnamon french toast. Served with a glass of orange juice and turkey bacon. I added on one scrambled egg. Delicious & hearty!
phillip royds
I love the breakfast special blueberry pancakes 2@ and turkey bacon 🥓 with coffee ☕ $ 10.99. This place is spotless clean and the staff is very friendly and professional and the food comes so quickly. It is an amazing adventure that makes an ordinary day feel like vacation. …
Donna Gority
I was in Philly so I had the cheese steak (without the peppers) it was juicy and tasty.
D K
Fast friendly service, good food, and a fun place to start your day in Philadelphia
Tony M
I had to see why this place was getting a lot of good ratings, and why its counters were always full when I went by. The breakfast is really, really good! Probably the best bacon I've tried anywhere! The portions are BIG! And the service is pretty fast and very friendly! I don't know if everyone is as friendly as Katie, but she was the epitome of a server!
LaToya Kimble-Cooper
I enjoy eating here. Sometimes I go for breakfast and other times for lunch. The food is great. I usually take an apple dumpling home.
Yuying Rong
Amazing staff and great value! I ordered the famous apple dumpling and the lady next to me was lured to do the same.
Sarah soeb

Layla Bouzoubaa
Excellent, quick and friendly service! The apple dumpling did not disappoint. Portion sizes are considerable, OJ is fresh :)
Andrew Platte
If you're in Philadelphia, get over here and eat some delicious food. Ate a hot roast beef sandwich and an apple dumpling. Both were some of the most delicious foods ever. The apple dumpling was so good, I ordered a 3 pack to take back to my hotel 😅

Reading Terminal Is Always Experience It Brings Out The Philadelphia Tradtions
@snapshotanderson
Asaad F.
Great experience mostly. Large portion sizes and good service.
Gracian Hardy
I love breakfast food, i.e Eggs, Bacon, Sausage, hashbrown the works. And so far to-date The Dutch Eating Place serves the best tasting breakfast food I'd ever eaten. There Chilli Dogs are delicious as well.......I will definitely be back.
Vicky Tran
Yummy
I’d say fair brunch prices
Quick and delicious
Helen V
On that day I was craving for blueberry pancakes. They were okay, but nothing special. I didn't try anything else.
Jolee Stubbe
The food was amazing! The homemade mashed potatoes were amazing! The best I’ve ever had. Great service and nice people!!
Matthew Arthur-Gray
Best. Apple dumpling. Ever. Had.
Seriously, the service was impeccable and the food was even better. Definitely take a detour and check out the market and stop by.
Mildred Hernandez
They were very polite, the service was great! The food was delicious!❤️ Will definitely revisit!
bethany f
Best “plain” pancakes I’ve ever had, no question about it. How they get them so large and so fluffy baffles me. Need to get back to my kitchen to experiment. Fast and friendly service. We took away and ate in our hotel nearby.
Bryen R.
I love this place. The portions are decent, the pricing is good, the quality of the food seems old-school wholesome, & I love the fact that they're flexible with your special request: if they have it, they generally seem willing to accommodate you. The customer service always seems pleasant. I hope they are able maintain the quality of the food & customer care.
Michael Woodall
Showed up here a little late to meet my friends so I was a little worried about buying any food. They had already stated eating and we had places to be.
They raved over the food and so I went for it and got grits, two eggs over easy, a scrapple and a soda. To my surprise my food came out finished in less than 5 minutes.
My grits were amazing. Heavy butter and filling and a great serving. Wish I could make them like this at home. The over way eggs were done perfect and weren't greasy. It was all around perfect and I was able to finish with my friends.
Obviously it's in the Redding Terminal Market and it's busy, but the way they have maximized their space means that they can get a lot of people at barstools comfortably. Totally impressed.
The price was phenomenal as I paid around 10 dollars and was able to use my card.
Staff was friendly and charming and customer oriented and I would absolutely come here often.
Sonya Richards
Great food and very kind workers. Huge portion size. Highly recommend the hot turkey sandwich.
lolive lolive
Food was really good and we paid half the price we pay in DC for less (quantity and quality). Beware of the pancakes size! Service was nice too.
Crystal Kinard
I had a sloppy joe and mashed potatoes with gravy....it was sooooo delicious, reminded me of my Grammys food, the ladies waiting on you were so pleasant and kind even though they were extremely busy. If you love good food, make this a stop. Great job!!
Tim Myers
Awesome food. Fast and delicious and great service too! Counter dining.
O. Campbell
This is me and my husband's go to when we need something tasty and fast. Service is always great, and staff friendly. Corn and chicken chowder, bacon cheeseburger, and Ruben are phenomenal also the Apple dumplings with heavy cream, delicious beyond words.
Jillian O'Bryant
I had one of the apple dumplings! Oh my god was it delicious!! I recommend getting it with heavy cream. It takes like warm apple pie with ice cream! I was pleasantly surprised that there’s a WHOLE APPLE in the middle! It was an absolutely scrumptious, affordable, large portion of heaven! I also tried the scrapple. It was my first time, and it reminded me of a blueberry muffin/meatloaf but w/o meat flavor.
Potato Head
Hot turkey sandwich and chicken corn soup were so good and hearty!!!
Amanda Dobbs
This is my favorite place in the city to grab a tasty bite to eat. Their pancakes are heavenly and I am rarely able to finish more than one and a half. The soups are delightful and remind of the soups my mother used to make. Everything is made fresh from scratch. I promise you won't be disappointed.
Tidalus
Apple dumpling is a must every time I visit Philly, and I'm not even a apple fan.
shayla
I cannot say enough good things about this place. Have been coming for a little over a year. Delicious food, generous portions, and amazing prices. Staff is always so nice and attentive. Breakfast, lunch, or dinner, there's always something great. I recommend the turkey burger special ;), fav place in Redding Terminal, love it <3
Marybeth Griffin
The blueberry pancakes were the best I have ever eaten! Large serving and reasonable price
Cchaddie Riddock
Recommended by a local; my second breakfast visit. This is a REAL diner with REAL people sitting shoulder-to-shoulder. There was a line waiting when the place opened at 8 am. The food is great; I’m a big man and couldn’t finish one pancake! And that big dollop of butter...definitely not for the cholesterol challenged! Hell, even the coffee was great and I’m a Starbucks diehard!
Zelda Bond
Food was good, server was very pleasant..will be going again!

The best breakfast and lunch place. The food is excellent and so is the service. The prices are reasonable. I go every Friday before I do my terminal shopping. It is a great experience.
GF Myers
Love the food here- the blueberry pancakes, loaded oatmeal and omelette were delicious! Now that I have relocated-I was able to take my kid before going back home. Had an issue but Javan, the owner is amazing and made our dining experience a 5-star! Food is delicious and they serve nice portions- comes out fast! Friendly and welcoming service. May have short wait for seating on Saturday mornings, but it is well worth it. Will definitely be back!
Freddie S
Excellent lunch sitting at the counter last week - great service, reasonable price.
Ally Orbeck
Very good breakfast, best pancakes I've had in a long time! Plus they were huge and very affordable.
The pecan sticky bun was also amazing. Service was really quick and extremely kind! Would definitely recommend
Frazontra Pitts
We ate breakfast here. It was amazing. Fair pricing, pleasant service.

My first time at the Dutch Eating Place or the Reading Terminal Market for that matter. I'd heard about this place from a few people and decided to give it a try with my son. If you go be prepared to wait. It is counter seating only. The line moved quickly enough. I had the blueberry pancakes and an apple dumpling. The pancakes are HUGE! another review suggested to eat some before using syrup, they were correct! A short stack would have been enough food. The apple dumpling was fantastic. The service was also great! Very friendly waitress. Prices are also more than reasonable for the amount of food you get. The only downside is parking. I had to park in a lot and that cost $13.00. I would definitely go back although it would probably be during the week when it isn't as crowded.
Mike Salters
Excellent service and Great food. The breakfast sandwich on a kaiser bun was silly good and the omelettes loaded with meat and veggies. My wife had the blueberry pancakes they were massive and tasty. Worth the wait to set at the counter. Fast friendly service.................
Juan Pichardo
Blueberry Pancakes!!! 😍 Phenomenal is an understatement!!! Must try if you're ever @ the Reading Terminal! …
Emma Robson
Biggest portion of pancakes I have ever had, and the apple dumpling is incredible. I went there whilst in Philly at a conference. I ended up going twice- once just for the apple dumpling as it looked so good. It was totally worth it. The pancakes lasted me 3 days, they were gigantic! Service is fast, and polite. Prices are very low too. Go early though. I went bang on opening, and it was already full.
S L Boyle
We each had an apple dumpling, with whipped cream. So, so good!!!!
Ran Jaco
Beware! They woud've gotten a 5 star since the food is great, but our waitress "accidently" more than doubled the price on the bill. When asked if she can explain it she did'nt even hesitate, said oops and changed the price from 33.98 to 16.99

Dutch Eating Place is a great place to have a wholesome, quick breakfast in the magnificent Reading Terminal market. After a very brief wait to be seated, our made to order food came out of the kitchen amazingly fast. Very affordable, very helpful and friendly service. I recommend their pancake special of the day.
rj bal
Came here on a Saturday at noon, but the staff worked very hard to get the line moving. We were seated within 15 minutes. The service was impeccable and the food was top quality. The turkey bacon tasted better than any other pork bacon I've ever eaten. We also got the apple dumpling which was a great ending to a perfect meal. Hats off to the staff, can't wait to be back.
Daniel Grabowski
The prices have gone up but that doesn't change the value. This is just great fresh breakfast and lunch food. If you think you're ordering too much you're probably ordering too much 🤣🤣

Every Philadelphian knows Dutch Eating Place is a must-visit when visiting Reading Terminal Market. If it wasn't already apparent by the multitude of reviews, this place is the bees knees. As someone who has been eating here for coming up on 5 years, here's my guide to Dutch Eating Place:
When to go -- THEY ARE CLOSED ON SUNDAYS! But when they're open, lines get long and there aren't great places to stand, not to mention sit. Go early (like 8-9 am) or later in the afternoon 12-2 pm to avoid the breakfast rush. Do note that breakfast ends around 2 pm. I suggest someone in your party scout out seating (it's quite difficult at RTM, especially for more than 2-3 people) while the other orders.
What to order -- They have great breakfast specials listed out that are huge portions. I suggest everyone in your group orders something different and you share. My personal favorites are:
1) the apple dumpling which feeds about 2 people (no heavy cream for me, they really drench it in that stuff)
2) the bacon, egg, and cheese sandwich (also very heavy and can feed two)
3) the apple cinnamon french toast special, which includes OJ (MUST TRY THE OJ!)
Everything in their menu that I've tried thus far pretty great! It's a great deal and also a lot of food, cooked right with friendly service. Enjoy! 5/5

Delicious spot for breakfast! Come early for seats. Great food, huge portions, great prices. Highly recommended—but only for those not on a diet!
Cara Norris
Fast friendly service, great pricing and Fantastic food! Scrapple and bacon were crisp and tasty, and the dutch apple is a Must!
Jorge Lopez
What a terrific find. We stumbled across this place at Reading Terminal Market and were extremely happy to have found it. Very good food (lots of it too), great service and just a happy place. We will definitely come on every visit to Philly.
Emily Scharf
Delicious food and great customer service! I got the apple cinnamon french toast. They gave me like, half a stick of butter to put on them too! Great flavor and fast service!
Junior Prapawiwat
I cannot express how much I love this place!
Fantastic food, friendly and fast service, reasonably priced, and HUGE portion!
Their blueberry pancakes were out of this world!
I highly recommend this to everyone who is looking for nice, cheap, comfort, and delicious food!
Your visit to the Reading Terminal Market is not complete without eating here!
I will definitely return!

This breakfast spot (Dutch Eating Place) is definitely a happening and very busy. The prices are extremely reasonable and you get a lot of food for your buck. Note the specials before ordering. We could have had bacon and coffee but noticed it after we ordered. The pancakes are huge and can easily feed four kids or two adults. There is a place to eat 60's diner style but there is a wait. You can take your food to go because there are nearby tables by Amy's Place but there aren't a lot.

What a great breakfast find in the Reading Terminal!
The motif is old school diner vibe with a Dutch flair. We went around breakfast/brunch time and unexpectedly found seating as soon as we walked up (rare!) I liked that the seatings were already lined with menus, condiments, and silverware ready to use as we sat down. The seating is in a circular fashion and the waiters are all inside - allows for best use of space in the crowded terminal.
We ordered their pancakes (a must) and bagels. The options are pretty standard breakfast fare, but they do serve it up well. The pancakes were large and well done - fluffy and flavorful. The bagels were served with butter spread - hot and and crispy! There is also jam on the counter, so I spread that on top to make for delicious savory/sweet accompaniment.
The service was great, with the waitress tended to us often, refilling our endless coffee mugs as necessary. Everything was also served really quickly and hot - the way I like it!
Would recommend to try it out as a breakfast bite if you plan on spending decent time in the terminal - you may need to wait in line since typically there is a crowd (especially weekends) but it'll be worth it!

Absolutely THE best place you can eat breakfast in philly. Cheap, huge portions and food is AMAZING. Staff are really friendly. You have to go to this place!
Abena A
Always great food and service. I don't mind the wait because it's worth it!
jinesh n
Loved this place. Really good food. Fast service. Taste was amazing.
Jorge Tello
The counter here is among the best breakfast experiences in Philly. The ingredients are notably fresh, sourced from their own farm in Lancaster, PA, and the service is consistently excellent.
Clifford Blanc
Ordered for delivery, food was good but our and pancakes came with no syrup or utensils. Also the butter and apple dumpling sauce was spilling out from the container into the bag when we got it. Visiting from out of town, this was very inconvenient
Tristan Winneker
Huge portions and high energy! The wait for 4 stools together took a little while but was well worth the wait. Pancakes were enormous! The cheesesteak was huge and delicious too. I would definitely eat here again the next time I visit Philly!
Victoria Faith
One of my new favorite places in philly! Open face turkey sandwich and turkey club sandwich is delicious! The lemonade is by far the best I’ve had, and the mashed potatoes are excellent!!! Waitress was friendly and pleasant. Definitely will be coming back.

I understand Javan to be the owner. He was engaging with all the customers. Whenever I’m in Philly I plan to make this experience a part of my visit.
C James
The blueberry pancakes are awesome. They are also large and filling. Customer service was excellent. I would definitely be back next time I am in the city.
Quiana Perry
Excellent customer service and food. The food is freshly prepared and cooked. I haven’t had a bad meal since I’ve been eating here. Keep up the great work
marybeth griffin
Fabulous place! Great food Great service!
Mark Heater
This place is awesome. When ever we're in Philly for the weekend we always make it a point to stop and get breakfast. The potions are huge, delicious and service is fast. If you like breakfast food this is a must stop. You wouldn't be disappointed.
Kyle Adrien
One of the best restaurants at reading terminal. I highly recommend going there for breakfast. Good price and though it's crowded the service is quick.
Clayton Sumpter
Some of the best food that I have had in a long while.
Doug Davis
Once you are seated, the service is lightning quick! My family and i got your orders served within about 4-5 minutes of placing the order, during a busy morning. Hearty breakfasts. Massive pancakes, which are also very light and fluffy in texture- just excellent food. I had the Western omelet, which was tasty and filling. Good coffee. I'll make it a point to return when in Philly.
Mette Karlsen
This is the greatest restaurant in the world, as far as I'm concerned. The food is the very most delicious I've ever tasted in the three countries and two continents I've lived in. It is always super-fresh, everything is made from scratch, and the quality of the food is always the highest there can be. The portions are HUGE--I really come away from The Dutch Eating Place feeling very well-fed. The prices are consistently lower than any other restaurant in the entire Reading Terminal Market, even though this place serves larger portions and higher quality than any of the other merchants. The service and hospitality are the very best I've ever experienced anywhere in my life--the wait staff are always super-friendly, and no one is rushed at this restaurant. The food from here is also REALLY nutritious--the perfect place if you're on the high-protein diet, and very easy to accommodate the low-carbohydrate diet here, too. The only thing missing from The Dutch Eating Place is that they're not open for dinner! If you're anywhere near Philadelphia, go here!!
Ernst Cadet
Great place for breakfast spot and you'll get your money's worth.
Joseph Ghee
This place is amazing, the food was good, the prices were good but the only reason it did not get 5 stars is because they messed up 2 of my orders. The cashier repeated my order back lso the receipt showed how I wanted it but they still messed it up so I was disappointed at that also because I walked to the place so I was not going to walk back due to the restaurant not ensuring the correct order was provided.
B Sln
What a great great place! Food was amazing, hamburger was out of this world, definitely tell it was fresh! French fries which I found out we're handcut there- amazing! Service was fast and super friendly! I'm going back again, hope to see you there!
Fernando Beltran
I found this place via google maps and discovered it was in the hug food market. It has about 30 people at a diner style counter. I sat down and immediately had a nice server in Dutch Amish costume greet me. I got the ham and cheese omelet with bacon and it came out super quick. It was huuuuggggeeee and yummy . Bacon was a bit greasy but it comfort food right?! Anyways it was quick friendly and tasty. I recommend it. You know if you see cops eating there it’s a true Philly experience!!!!
Hannah Erica
Tough to find sitting, and tight quarters, but fast and efficient. My food was room temp, but they asked how was everything and I opted not to exchange food. It was delicious though. I had 2 eggs, with cheese, home fries with onions and peppers, toast and coffee, cost $7.83.
Justin Cirelli
Best breakfast place in the Philadelphia area. Their pancakes are heavenly. Huge, fluffy, great taste..superb. Their specials are often really great too. I'm also a big fan of the blueberry pancakes, the flavor is really good. Again, these things are huge. You have to eat some of the pancakes before you add syrup as if you dont, the syrup will run down off the sides of the plate and onto the counter.
Be prepared to wait if you have more than a couple people as its counter space only. Well worth any kind of wait however. The wait staff has always been nothing but awesome to me and my kids. No service on Sundays, got burned on that a couple years ago..lesson learned :-)
Heidi Maxie
Amazing French toast on raisin bread. Along with turkey bacon, fresh squeezed orange juice, and strawberry preserves. Quick service, nice employees, a wonderful way to start the day. Thank you so much!
derosenm
I could cry the food was so good. the pancakes and apple dumpling... *sobs* ALSO had the Reuben and a classic breakfast of eggs toast bacon and potatoes which were also phenomenal. super friendly and quick service too, you’ll be missing out if you skip this one!
Sayali Phatak
Had ordered Hamburger deluxe! It was worth every penny. The food was fresh and delicious. The burger special price includes extra stuffing and freshly made lemonade! The meat was tender, juicy and tasty.
Dave Golden
Good food and service.
Vanessa Mora
Came back twice for the amazing food!
Paulette Parham
Price is good. I went for the scrapple, only to find that it was ok. The hit was the home fries. Our waitress Hannah was very personable.
Aileen Gallagher
Yum. This apple dumpling had been on my list for a while and it didn’t disappoint. The dumpling was filling and my friend’s short stack was pretty sizable. Went shortly after it opened to avoid any crowds and felt comfortable (nearest other customers were several stools away). Service was quick and super friendly.
April Levine
Amazing homemade food and a great value. Best fresh squeezed lemonade to
Madison Hayes
Staff is so nice and the food is soooo good. I loved the omelette and my wife had the cinnamon apple french toast. Both were delightful.
Jon Moore
Delicious bacon, egg and cheese sandwich. Great customer service.

You know they might as well just roll me into Reading Terminal, lock the doors, and leave me to my own culinary demise. This place snuck up on me out of nowhere. I've traversed the corridors of this institution since 2001. I've eaten and reeaten and eaten again at dozens of RT establishments. I've never had a meal below 3.5 stars.m here. My meal at the DEP was a straight 5.0. Perfect in every aspect. From initial point of contact with my server to final bill, everything was perfect. The menu has the standard breakfast items: French toast, pancakes, eggs anyways you want then. And then lunch. Burgers and melts and sandwiches. I had the Reuben with a side of fresh cut fries. Also I got the pink lemonade. Sooo sweet and bursting with lemon flavor. The cup wasn't overfilled with ice. I like when I can get more than three sips out of a cup. I'll just let my pictures do the talking. Best sandwich, best fries, and best lemonade I have ever had. I do not think I will ever pass through Philadelphia again without eating here. The bread on my reuben was perfectly grilled to a golden brown. The corned beef was not salty or rubbery and possessed incredible moisture and flavor with every bite. But the star of this meal was the HCFs. These were hands down the most addictive thing I have ever eaten. Thin, a tad oily, not dry. These fries were divine. Potatoe flavor everywhere. I'm thinking about them now!! I cannot tell you how many fries I have eaten in my 50 plus years so to say these are the best ever speaks volumes about these spuds. There is so many places to eat in RT. Trust me, just eat here and check it off your bucket list.

A (kind of) hidden gem tucked in the back of Reading Terminal Market, and a breakfast haven before heading to work. I grabbed a stool before heading to the office and was delighted by the entire experience (eating in the sleepy market on a weekday morning, the friendly service, the homestyle food/atmosphere.)
I had to go with one of my favorites - Scrapple, egg, and cheese on a bagel. It came out quickly, and was piping hot. The bagel must have been brushed with butter, because it was a delightfully buttery, greasy, and scrapple-y experience. I also ordered a half order of the home fries, which intrigued me, but kind of left me underwhelmed.
Service gets a special shout out, as the two women behind the counter were managing a nearly full counter and lots of tourists walking by with ease and a smile. Great value, great service, and a enjoyable atmosphere.

Def recommend this spot!! It's in a busy market so it was a little hard to find at first, but once we did - we knew we had made the right choice! Breakfast was on point - sausage, grits, hash browns with onions and peppers... even the Apple dumpling was fire!! But whatever you do - do NOT order the sloppy Joe. No additional comment there, lol... It was just the wrong choice at the right restaurant, but hey - lesson learned. We'll be back for sure ;))
Lee Roberts
Blueberry pancakes as always were FANTASTIC
Michael Park
Fun small diner in reading terminal Market. The pancakes and seasonal specials are delicious and I always have leftovers.
Katherine Meng
Huge portions. Eat surrounded by regulars and visitors. Friendly service.
Bill Babiash
OMG... this is absolutely the BEST of the best at the Reading Terminal Market and honestly the whole of the City of Philly [talk about comfort food].... breakfast favorite spot almost every weekend and just had lunch devoured an amazing Turkey Melt sandwich (all homemade with such care). Javin and his family make you feel like part of their family... look forward to next amazing meal & to dine with our friends!!!
Jolet Larracas
You get QUALITY food and not very expensive. The pancakes and omelette my wife and I ordered were fantastic!
P.S. The apple dumplings were great....our only regret was we didn't buy more before leaving Philadelphia.
Daniel Stieg
Best breakfest , i had the scrapple and egg sandwich huge and taste like home made Dutch cooking. Delicious
Ruth Prillaman
Everything seems to be homemade here! I had the bacon, egg and cheese bagel. It was the best bagel I've ever eaten and the bacon, eggs and cheese were from local farms. The best item on the menu, and in the whole terminal, is the apple dumpling!!! It is heaven in a bowl!!
worldstar blogger
I've eating a lot of places in the States, and by far Dutch Eating Place is my favorite. The food is so clean. You can eat good to your stomach, yet clean for your body!!!!! If you are ever in Philly you have to stop, grab a seat, and get a bite to eat⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Lena P
Been here twice and never disappoints. Popular among travelers. Busy area. Seating can be tight so be considerate. Very inexpensive breakfast with good portions!
James Scharnott
Amazing food, ridiculously low prices for the servings you get, friendly staff, and the best coleslaw I've ever had (that touch of creamy horseradish...genius!). I recommend this place to all my friends visiting Reading Terminal as the best combination Philly/Lancaster County experience there is.
Alison
The food was incredible and I’d go everyday if i wouldn’t end up 600lbs in a few months.
Maggie Geathers
love this place im there 3 to 4 times weekly
Juanita Garcia
My favorite spot for a fast breakfast in Reading Terminal Market. The service is efficient to get you in and on your way. They have some great solid breakfast options. Nothing fancy but great for eggs and bacon.

With the countless options at Reading Terminal, it’s hard to select just one thing to eat—which is just encouragement to visit this phenomenal market countless times! This particular Saturday, I decided to try the Dutch Eating Place. Since the place is known for their breakfast/brunch fare, I selected their blueberry pancakes. Each pancake is huge—the size of a dinner plate—and generously packed with sweet blueberries. The pancakes are cooked to order and come off the griddle with a delicious golden-brown crust and fluffy texture. Slathered with a mountain of farm-fresh butter and accompanied by rich maple syrup, it is quality comfort food at its best. Even better is the refreshingly low price: a stack of two costs a mere $4.27 (including tax).
The quality of food is only matched by the quality of service; the staff is friendly and efficient, taking care to give you the best experience whether you’re eating at the counter or taking food to go. Whenever I walk past this stall, there are always huge lines for both the sit-down area and the take-out section. Needless to say, the Dutch Eating Place deserves such popularity. Make sure to stop by the Pennsylvania Dutch stalls towards the end of the week, as the merchants only open their stalls from Wednesday to Saturday. I definitely plan to return in the future (I want to try their cinnamon apple French toast!) –Nicole Woon
I’d heard about the Dutch Eating Place’s apple dumpling from a friend. She claimed they were so rich that no one could finish them by themselves. One, I love apple desserts. Two, I was determined to prove her wrong. The Dutch Eating Place’s
homemade food looked delicious, but I cut straight to dessert and ordered the ‘hot apple dumpling with heavy cream’. Shortly after ordering from the friendly teenage boy working the cash register, I was handed a warm box with a little container of cream on the side. Inside was an apple that had been sautéed with butter, sugar and cinnamon and then baked in a delicious flaky crust. The most delicious part of the sweet was that it was obviously freshly made and from all natural ingredients. –Shannon Ridge

Amazing! I had a simple breakfast of eggs, bacon, toast and homefries. The homemade jam was so good, I could have eaten it by the spoonful. I look forward to eating there for the rest of my stay.
Jimi Williams
The food was Ah-Mazing!!! The service was great. Food came out very quickly. I recommend this place as a must if you are downtown.

Blueberry pancakes, bacon jam sandwich and strawberry spread for the win.
Simple, good food. Can't beat that!!

Cheap and fast breakfast! This was my first time at Dutch Eating Place, and I got the western omelet which was really good. I think next time I'm going to try the pancakes - they're enormous!

Good breakfast. Fast friendly service. Had blueberry pancake. Vary large but tasty

OMG this place is the ish! There's a reason for the long line to be seated at this place. Everything made here tastes absolutely fresh and they give you a bang for your buck, just get the hot cakes and you'll see what I'm talking about. Worth the money, would recommend!
Pam Adams
The chicken pot pie was chicken soup. I don't eat soup, but my husband said it was good. What I did LIKE was when I called they said come back in with your receipt and we will give you a refund. They explained this was their chicken pie, but it was not what I expected, so I am getting a refund.
Kevin Swinson
I had a breakfast there turkey bacon scramble eggs and home fries. The food is always good
Abdul Qadir
Had breakfast herewith my wife. The service was great and I enjoyed the food and so did my wife. This is a nice place to go to with your family or if you are dining alone.
diane williams
Great place to eat. And shop for products.

I visited the Reading Terminal Market and stopped here for a Reuben. Since then, I’ve been trying to find a better Reuben, but I don’t think it exists. Friendly staff, rock bottom prices, great location. Check it out!
Jameel B Miles
I've been eating at the Dutch Eating Place since I was a kid. The service is always and the food is phenomenal.
Ankush Thakur
Food was awesome! Everything tasted fresh and was cooked to perfection. The home fries are bomb!
SHARAD G.
Very large portions of food, very busy location for the entire market so it can be overwhelming but the food is prepared quickly and is good quality. They also serve breakfast until 12 for those late travelers
Jillian Burgess
Apple pie dumplings put regular apple pie to shame. Definitely try one of these. I recommend sharing because it's very sweet and filling. However, I probably could have eaten the entire thing by myself.
Donna Eastman (Valazen)
Apple dumpling with cream. Just love it. I'm glad I was there until Monday so I had time to stop in.They are closed on Sunday.
mary mills
The service good only had tea and toast but took a quart of chicken corn soup to go.
Stephen Carboni
The Dutch Eating place was so much better than I could have ever imagined. Not only is the price super affordable but the food was fantastic and the employees were very friendly and accommodating.
Claudia Aliff
Incredible breakfast sandwiches! Get them on a Kaiser and you won’t be disappointed. Always friendly.
Cameron Mills
Grabbed a breakfast sandwich and was overall not impressed. It was on the cheaper side being less than $5, but had very little taste. Not a lot of options to choose from either.
sheila jackson
The food was fresh and service was very good. I ordered a cheese steak and fries.
Steve Blubaugh
Had the turckey sandwich for lunch - not bad. A bit too much gravy for my taste - they LOADED it on there. The Lemonade was very good and I'd like to have more
Sincerely, Licia
Delicious food. I can vouch for the pancakes and apple dumplings. Homestyle delight. Friendly service. One of my go to stops at Reading Terminal Market
Nathan Pham
We love the apple cinnamon French toast and fluffy blueberry pancakes. The serving size of the blueberry pancakes is huge. Cheap prices as well

The scrapple cooked on the grill is excellent.
Gee BeeMee

Phillydriver
Best food in the area.
Good portions, good prices, good service.
The only reason I don't eat there everyday is the traffic getting into town.
Justin Kyle Tanner
Quick and very affordable. Had the Rueben one day and the breakfast sandwich the next. Go early or in between rush hours to get good serve and seated right away.
chris2004x
As close to homestyle cooking as you'll find away from home. I prefer the breakfast dishes but the savory stiff works well too. :)
Matthias Clark
Food was delicious!
Wish I could try everything on the menu.
Lisa Reihl
Fantastic Amish food. Orange juice was like eating the orange. Price was good, especially for downtown. Portions are decent sized, was too much for me.
eugene gourley
Terrific home style cookng with generous portions. Counter service only.

"There's no place like the Dutch Eating Place." There was a short line on Saturday morning, but it was well worth it. Good food, good portions, good service.

Nothing else like it. Apple Dumplings that will take your tastebuds for a ride. Warning: no other apple dessert will compare after having one.
Caitlyn
It has become a tradition to stop here each time my sister comes. Recommend getting the apple cinnamon french toast and blueberry pancakes with the strawberry jam.
Ба́ба Яга́
No word I know can describe how perfectly imperfect the breakfast is. Every time I go to Philly i have to spend a full morning and afternoon here.
Jeffery Williams
Best ham and cheese omelette I ever had, my waiter was very nice and in great spirits. I will definitely return again.
Rolen Le
I got the much talked about apple dumpling. It was fine, but not noteworthy.
Matt Bush
I had the creamed beef on homefries for breakfast and would not recommend. Other dinners were enjoying pancakes and oatmeal, which did look better.
Ghassan AL-Balushi
Nice place, Friendly people and really good prices.
Ashley Hassan
I was excited to visit this place because of all the food ratings. The food was okay but I did not like the grits. I told the waitress this and she look at me like I was crazy.
Brian Gunn
The breakfast was marginal. The eggs were overcooked, the sausage was fresh, and the grits was delicious. It may be a little overrated.
Chris Buich
Awesome market with great options for food. Loved the apple cinnamon French toast!
j_ bubblez
Forgot my orange juice and didn't have syrup for the food. Unfortunately, without the syrup, the food was pretty much flavorless. I might try again.
Robert Bennett
Excellent n affordable n always pleasant

The Apple Dumpling was beyond amazing. A surprising snack that has left me to no longer find any other Apple Pie desert appealing.
