Very good time!! Customer service was excellent and made us feel so welcome. Food was very nice. Mixed grill was very tasty and meat was cooked perfectly. Cheesy samosa was good as well as free dessert! Definitely recommend this excellent halal option to anyone

This was my Husband & I first time at this Restaurant. We heard so much about it that we had to see for ourselves. Being an Halah restaurant made it even more of a reason for us to try their food. We weren't disappointed 😊. Food was DELICIOUS 😋. Customer Service was EXCELLENT as well. Husband also stated that it was GREAT atmosphere. The Grilled Fish that we got was our FIRST time ever trying, everything blended in so well... Waiter offered us a cup of Egyptian Tea for our great Hospitality 😁, Another first try for us. Good it was. We will DEFINITELY revisit.

The falafel pita was okay, but with a little garlic sauce helped. my partner had the chicken pita and it was much better tastier. The meat had lots of flavor, but it lacked in veggies. We had to request more, but they were more than willing to provide. The inside has interesting and appealing decor, and I enjoyed looking around at the details. The food took quite a long time to get to us. Maybe this was out of the ordinary for them, but they didn’t seem to have fountain drinks, just water bottles and soda cans. The server was very friendly and we enjoyed our conversations with him.

Took my family out for a dinner and we stopped by Cilantro and had a great Mediterranean cuisine. We had ordered baked fish, salad, lame, fries many more. The was so delicious and very friendly staff. Highly recommended!!

Great food, atmosphere and service. As part of my International challenge, I opted for only Egyptian dishes. They were delicious. My favorite was the Maussakah - outstanding. Will definitely return once the year challenge is over. Highly recommend.

Great family run spot for authentic middle eastern food in Philly. We tried the kofta platter, cilantro sampler and Beef shawerma . Food was tasty and fresh and the service was attentive and friendly. The owners are very nice. I hope to come back many times.

One of the best Mediterranean restaurants in town. We tried falafel wraps and falafel platter and they were amazing. Perfect taste and wrap to filling ratio was good too. And if you have a sweet tooth must try the pistachio baklava here. The custard one is famous but we went for pistachio. So maybe try next time. The food is absolutely delicious! Everything we ordered was out of this world amazing and I would highly recommend and eat there again in a heartbeat! The portion sizes were big and enough to split between the two of us. And the service is very good too. The waiters are very friendly and welcoming. Highly recommend!

We stopped by here for a lunch in Philly, and the food was excellent. We ordered the eggplant moussaka, chicken shawarma, branzino whole grilled fish, hawawshi sandwich, and baklava for dessert. Everything we ordered was so flavorful, and the baklava was the best we’ve ever had. We will definitely return to explore other dishes on the menu!

We came here due to the reviews and the food was as good as it sounds/and looks. Best Mediterranean food ever, Philly has some FANTASTIC restaurants and this is definitely a top 10! I had the Chicken Kabob platter and it came with the kabob, that had peppers, onion, and mushrooms, the kabob was seasoned perfectly and paired well with the white sauce. The platter had rice, salad, hummus, fries and a pita bread/with cheese? Not sure what was in it but it was a 10/10. The salad dressing was delicious as was everything on the plate, service was amazing. Don’t pass this restaurant up!

The food was really good- we ordered the two person platter and it was more than enough for 3 people The meat was super flavorful, the rice was really good too, as was the baklava. They also gave us tea afterwards- it was freshly made and super minty and good. Everyone was also very kind to us and went out of their way to get us a table outside and make us comfortable.

The Branzino is absolutely delicious!! It’s actually the best I’ve ever had. The fish was seasoned perfectly and was very flavorful. It is a whole fish but I had them cut the head off of mine. The rice was great as well and had caramelized onions on top. So glad I randomly discovered this place today. I spent $30 but the platter is huge and is enough for more than one serving in my opinion. I highly recommend

I went to this place with my friends for a dinner. It has one of the best Mediterranean dishes. We order chicken platter, falafel platter, chicken shawarma platter, falafel wrap. Everything was really tasty and quantity of food was worth the money. We got extra baklawa for free ( thankyou ). Overall great place and highly recommended for every food lover.

Cilantro Mediterranean is a comfortable and welcoming environment, in all my time in Philadelphia I have never had food that tasted so authentic to the middle east. The waiters were fast, the cooks were fast, and the atmosphere is amazing.

Great service. The moussaka was amazing. No one does eggplant like Cilantro. The chicken shwarma is Mt favorite. Falafel and humus is perfect. Soft pita. Delicious baklava. Everything is delicious. It's in a great location off south street. Prices are good. The serving sizes of the platters are so big they can easily be shared. We always have leftovers.

Lively environment, I would of took a picture of the food beforehand but it was too good to not devour it the first 3 seconds it was in front of me! Have been here several times & their dishes are always cooked fresh & you get great portions for the price! Definitely stop by if you’re in the mood for Middle Eastern food. In terms of sandwiches their hawawshi in particular is excellent

We went there twice in a row and if I wasn’t going back to Jersey tomorrow, I’d go back again. Very good portions and the white sauce is absolutely amazing. The pita chips in the chicken shwarma platter is amazing. Great service. Very very fun and friendly people.

Great food and location. Their platters are a good value for this who like to try many different varieties. The only thing I didn’t enjoy was that the music was very loud. It was hard to talk. Otherwise great customer service

Came from out of town, saw the high ratings on Google when I was tryna pick a spot for dinner. Walked 25 mins over here, insanely good, like actually probably the best Mediterranean food I've ever had. Got the chicken shawarma + fries + baklava with pistachios on top. The shawarma had juicy chicken, cooked perfect, and blended with the right amount of sauce and cheese. Fries also super fresh and tasty. Then the baklava was served with whipped cream and was super delicious as well. Not too sweet like some places that makes it taste cheap, but the right amount of flavor.

My first time as an egyptian to find an egyptian restaurant in the US! Everything was excellent: we got the moussaka (comes sizzling to the table), hawawshi, mixed platter, and kunafa. They bring mint tea to your table too!

The food was outstandingly delicious and authentic! My husband was frantic about trying this restaurant as he’s heard the flavor of the dishes is undeniably Mediterranean and it was a solid 10/10!! I recommend their signature dish Hawawshi and the mixed grill dish that includes chicken, steak, kofta kabob, and lamb chops! Would definitely come again!

This place has the best chicken shawarma in philly with no doubt in my opinion. I like portion of the sandwich because I was full by only finishing the first half. The french fries is also fabulous along with the overall vibe of the restaurant.

Ciliantro is one of my favorite restaurants in Philly. From the moment my friends and I walked in we were greeted by their friendly staff. The food was PHENOMENAL! I highly recommend the chicken shawarma platter, the stuffed grape leaves, and Cilantro’s signature hawawshi. My mouth watered as I ate my food, no joke. Afterwards they gave us a platter of their house made desserts along with hot Egyptian tea. The food AND the atmosphere is a 10/10! If you eat anywhere in Philly eat here

Was looking for halal options that close a bit late and came across Cilantro mediterranean because of good reviews. It was totally worth it, the guy at the counter was extremely hospitable and greeted us well. The ambiance is very relaxing with colorful dim lights. We had their chicken shawarma and kabob shawarma. Both of them were high quality and delicious. Their salad (which came as a side) was also fresh & juicy! The owner was generous to offer us tea in the end too. Very nice staff and quality food at a reasonable price!

Fantastically fresh and savory food! I walked in to place a take out order but after entering cilantros I fell in love with the decor. It took back to my time in Dubai. I decided to dine in and I was not disappointed. Staff went above and beyond made me feel like I was the only one in the restaurant the food was so fresh and the stake was cooked to perfection. The house dressing on the salad was a perfect blend of vinegar and sweetness. Amazing experience, 10/10 would recommend. I wish I don’t live 30 minutes outside of the city or I’d be here several times throughout the week.

My brother and I stopped in for dinner, I had the grape leaves and chicken kabobs, he had the chicken shawarma. The portions were very generous, the food was outstanding, the service was excellent and everyone there was so friendly. It’s a very cozy, comfortable atmosphere. Very highly recommend!

They’re happy to explain different items on the menu as well as recommend which item is best. You have to try the grilled branzino, the flavors on the fish are delicious!! This is my new go-to place for Mediterranean! I was at dinner with a friend this past week and it was my first time there. The staff were so nice and helpful! The presentation of the dishes were incredible! The waiter suggested a really good dish where it came on a hot iron skillet. I’ve never liked baklava until I tried theirs. THE BEST BAKLAVA I’VE EVER HAD! I’ll definitely be back with more of my friends for sure :)

Had a very nice experience in this Egyptian restaurant with a great visual and musical vibe. The service was hospitable, with good quality ample food portions - I’d suggest getting fewer dishes to avoid stuffing yourself. Cilantro is if not the best then one of the best on the East Coast and the Greater Philadelphia. The Hawawshi is delicious and has the best authentic taste similar to what is offered in Egypt. For those that love Egyptian and Middle Eastern food try the following at Cilantro: the Mosakkah, lamb chops, grilled chicken, and kabob. I am originally Egyptian and can tell you the food and deserts at Cilantro have given the foodie in me to revive for going out to restaurants after the pandemic. I highly recommend it especially for the food but more importantly the amazing service by the staff, host, owner and restaurant anesthetics.

This place is expensive, BUT the portions are huge, the food is divine and the kind of place that after taking one bite you happily say take all my money. There is so much variety and interesting options like a cheese samosa. Love how vegetarian friendly Cilantro is. Normally grape leaves always have meat in them, so what a treat that theirs are only vegan. Also their vegetable shawarma has such a huge flavor profile and will make you do a happy food dance. Also make sure you get desert to go ;) Baklava is so tasty, but I doubt you'll have room to eat it there because really the portions are that huge. Wear your eating pants and have fun!

The first visit was honestly a 2 for service and a 5 for food but the other two visits for sure Five Starts. My heritage is Egyptian. After a long day of meetings, I went back to my hotel and start the research of where to go to dinner. It was such a pleasant surprise to find an Egyptian restaurant within walking distance of my hotel. The minute you walk through the doors of the restaurant, you feel an authentic Egyptian ambiance. Looking at the menu, I wanted to order everything on the menu, but decided to go with the mix grill and the lentil soup, the portions were so big that I was sure that I will never be able to finish, you should see the plate after I was done, empty!! The taste, the presentation, the temperature. Everything about the food sop authentic and so good that o could not stop eating. To top it off, the friendliness of Mr Aziz the owner of the place was over the top. I felt that I am sitting have dinner in my cousin’s house, true Egyptian hospitality. If you are in Philly and want to experience a true Egyptian restaurant, you have to visit Cilantro and ask for Aziz. By the way his wife does all of the cooking and that is the secret behind how good the food is.

Best Mediterranean food in Philly, and the only place in the city with authentic Egyptian food! Koshari and Molokhia were outstanding, as was the mixed grill. I have tried Beef Shawarma Wrap, Chicken Shawarma Wrap, Kefta Kabob, Homemade Grape Leaves. All of them were awesome. The Chicken Shawarma Wrap and Homemade Grape Leaves are the best. Cilantro provided an absolutely *phenomenal* dinner adventure for me and my friends. First off, the staff is so charming and conversational - we left with full bellies and new friends!! Combine the staff with the welcoming vibe, wonderful music choice, and EXQUISITE food and you're left with an unforgettable experience. The food was brought out quickly, but as soon as the first few dishes arrived to the table, I kid you not, I started *salivating* (it just all looked so unbelievably delectable). I ordered the falafel platter and the eggplant side (which was some of the best eggplant we've ever had even if it burned some of our tongues off) and I frantically gobbled up that bad boy without a single regret. Once we all started eating - not. one. word. was. said. - until our plates were empty. I unbuttoned my pants and just sat there in utter bliss after the meal. Even though we were satisfactorily full, we got some tea and dessert which really tied it all up nicely. I am 20000% coming back here at least twice a month and will bring all my friends - everyone in Philly should have the Cilantro experience at least once.

The portions are generous I always end up with an extra meal and the food is consistently delicious. Perfectly grilled veggies, soft buttery rice, and well made hummus. I usually get the vegan shawarma, but the moussekeh is good and the chicken is perfectly seasoned and tender. I ordered the lamb chops and falafel to go, and they were delicious! The tahini sauce was different than what I was used to, but it was good! It's not on the cheap side though... Worth the money? This place is dope as hell my g! I came all the way from Maryland for this delicious food. The kefta kabob is large enough for 2; the grape leaves, as always, are the best I've had in America; they have these cheese samosas that are SO good! Definitely worth the trip and insha'Allah I intend to come back. Service is also AMAZING! Very friendly and always smiling, alhamdulillah! Oh! And the rice!!!! Don't get me started on how good the rice is! The rice alone is good enough to be a dish in itself!

Amaazingggg fooood and service. I got the beef shewarma- which was super flavorful and clean. My friends got the mixed pkatter and chicken platters which also looked really good. We accidentally stayed past the tIme they closed and didn’t even realize because the restaurant let us take our time and didn’t rush us at all! We even forgot to place an order to go and they graciously said it was no problem and made the order! The owner even gave us complimentary dessert while we waited!! Definitely will come back!!

Finally got to try this place out and was blown away. Best Middle Eastern food in the city. Everything was fresh and cooked to perfection. The moussaka (eggplant dish) is a must have! Chicken shawarma platter comes on a bed of rice with salad and chips as well. The meat, all halal, is seasoned just right and juicy not dry. Be sure to try the kunafa for desert as well. Will be coming back again soon!

Really lovely place. I grew up abroad and it reminds me of restaurants back home. Definitely transports you somewhere else. Server was really nice. I really appreciated that an authentic place like this accommodates vegans. The vegan moussaka and shawarma were great - especially the moussaka. Amazing flavor. Food also came out really fast. (And the fries were yummy!) And they even gave us complimentary tea. We will be back!

The flavors are bursting and the meat is cooked to perfection! Not burned but not undercooked, just perfect! Their tahini sauce is probably the best I've ever had at any Mediterranean place. Everything was perfect!!! The service from all the staff was amazing. I was in a party of six and the gentleman brought two tables together and arranged the chairs for us to sit. Everyone had a welcoming and friendly demeanor. There is seating inside and outside. The music and decor were lovely. The establishment was clean. The food was amazing!!!!! 10 out of 10!!!!! The portion sizes were huge, definitely worth the price. There are options for everybody. Whether you're a meat eater, pescatarian, vegetarian, or vegan, there's a section on the menu for every diet. No pork products and everything is Halal. I'll definitely eat here again. If you're ever on South Street, I highly suggest this place.

I ate at Cilantro a couple weeks ago and I am still craving everything I ate here! The food was better than any other middle eastern food I have ever had before and the owner was so kind and humble. I am definitely making the trip to south Philly again just for this restaurant, it's that good. Great food! Ordered a fat boy (lamb chops and beef schwarma.) I was expecting a sandwich but the actual thing was a whole platter with all the ingredients of a deconstructed beef schwarma. It was unexpected but still delicous! The lamb and beef was tender and cooked well. There was carmelized onions that added a slight sweetness to the savory dish. The fresh greens were crisp and a good contrast in texture with the soft saffron rice pilaf. There was also seasoned fries on the side. The eggplant moussaka was also delicious. The eggplant soaked up the spices it was cooked with and it paired well with the accompanying warm pita bread. The service was S-grade. The food came out promptly after we ordered. My room mate and I walked 30 min to get to here. And it was well worth it. If you’re in the area and want a delicious meal, consider this establishment. Even if you’re not in the immediate area and you’re craving Middle Eastern, head over here! You won’t be disappointed.
