Reviews of Cheever's Cafe
I met a Friend here for a Birthday Lunch. The atmosphere is cool & the service was amazing! Our waitress was super sweet & friendly.
For me, the food was just okay. I had the Shrimp & Grits. My Friend loved her food (Turkey Club) & we shared an appetizer. Again, it was just okay for me but she loved it. The Ice Cream Ball was soooo GOOD!!! So glad we tried it.
Overall it was nice. I would go back to try another dish.
Giving this a 4/5.
This place was fantastic! Our waiter “Drew" gave us excellent service, was friendly and really made it a great experience. The fried chicken sandwich (which we split) was literally the best fried chicken that I have ever had and I grew up in the South. It was so moist on the inside and cooked to perfection, the batter was not thick and flowery (very light) and yet super crunchy without a spot of grease anywhere. The Carrot Cake was to die for (hands down the best carrot cake that I have eaten). We will be back to try the Chicken Fried Steak and other things on the menu. This place is a must if you are a foodie.
Cheever’s was recommended to us and we’re so glad! What a fantastic meal we enjoyed! They have a diverse menu with something for everyone. I had their renowned Chicken Fried Steak with the jalapeño gravy and it lived up to the hype! The chocolate cake was delicious and huge! Three people could easily share it! The wine, cocktail and beer menus offer a great variety of drink options for the perfect pairing with your meal. The atmosphere is warm and comfortable…. perfect for date night, or meeting a group of good friends. We’ll be back!
Cheever’s is such a cute and dainty cafe in OKC. I went for the first time with some of my sorority sisters this past weekend and we had such a good time.
They have a solid brunch menus and EXCELLENT mimosas (I got a pineapple & orange juice blend with a double dose of champagne — it was delightful). For brunch we had complimentary rolls, which I believe have poppy seeds in them (they were so soft 😩). Additionally, I order the chicken and waffles (I substituted my chicken breast for chicken tenders). I was crazy about the chicken, it was overly breaded. I wish I had the option of actually chicken wings. The waffles were great, but I didn’t enjoy the syrup. Then, I added a side of eggs which were great. My sister ordered the chicken fried steak and she ended up sending it back.
I loved the atmosphere, our waiter, and drinks. The food just wasn’t overwhelming.
It’s was still a great experience though.
Food was just Soo good. We loved the look and feel of this place and the bartender was awesome. He made the experience much better with good small talk. Drinks came out perfectly delicious. Food was so delicious as well. Perfect brunch spot. Will make this a usual place to eat and even take friends and family out to enjoy.
I have been wanting to go here for a while because I keep hearing how good it is. We were all pretty disappointed. The chicken fried steak had absolutely no flavor or seasoning, very bland. The burger was fine, not amazing. My salad was pretty boring as well. The one thing that I would recommend is there cocktail called the bandit. That was delicious!
Been craving a chicken fried steak for a while now, they’re so hard to find in OKC, what’s up with that?? Anyway, super easy to make a weeknight reservation via Open Table. Service and food was excellent! Delightful and beautiful seasonal cocktail as well. We took home food for another whole meal or two, can’t wait!
Called Cheever’s to place an over the phone order prior to arriving in OKC. The phone service was wonderful with every question patiently answered. The food….it did not disappoint, large portions loaded with flavour both of us throughly enjoyed each bite; from the brisket sandwich to the chicken fried steak, slender fries, gravy-all were enjoyable. And then the finale, dessert! The chocolate cake is rich, large and decadent, I’m told the carrot cake was worth every calorie loaded forkful. Cheever’s Cafe is worth the visit. And if you have a smaller appetite as I do, this is a meal that you can enjoy for multiple servings.
My daughters made reservations here for us for Mother's Day and I couldn't be happier! The inside seating is small but cozy, outside seating is also available. The food was fantastic! I didn't get a picture of the cinnamon roll we shared so I'll just say if you have the opportunity, get one. I had shrimp and grits and they were the best grits I've had outside of South Carolina. I can't wait to go back for more!
Such a nice place to come with friends and family or a romantic night. Get reservations. I go a bit early due to parking being tight but it is worth it.
Got the chicken fried steak with Jalapeno gravy (a must try here). Also got the halibut with spicy shrimp risotto (soooo creamy and satisfying).
Can't wait to devour the left over chicken fried steak and potatoes - it is alot of food.
Was there to celebrate Wifey’s birthday! We got there at 2, not knowing that brunch wasn’t over til 3. That kinda sucked because we were looking forward to the lunch/dinner menu. No worries, we got the chicken fried steak which was amazing!! Rachel was very cool. Cheever’s never disappoints
Service was amazing, and the food was EXCELLENT. We had Will as our waiter, he was an excellent waiter, probably THE BEST waiter I have ever had. Place is clean and modern, I left really satisfied.
Loved Cheever's. Expensive but worth it. I ordered black crusted tuna and it was amazing. My plus one had chicken fried steak and mashed potatoes and that too was delicious. We ordered 7 layer chocolate cake for dessert and the portion size is huge! The server we had (Jeff) was awesome and couldn't have asked for better service. They also give out rolls with butter.
We've wanted to come to Cheever's for awhile and they did not disappoint. The first impression of the restaurant is one of class and tradition, and the hedge outside the front provides a great sense of intimacy for the whole building. Karessa our server was fantastic. I asked her to plan out our meal and she chose the strudel as an app (creamy, crispy, and hearty it was superb) and the halibut for the main course. In addition to the meal their "Capulet" cocktail with cucumber infused gin is amazing haha. We loved our experience! Thanks Karessa!
A respectable institution for regional cuisine. They also incorporate agreeable twists with each classic dish, which I thoroughly enjoyed.
The chicken tortilla soup was textbook perfection. The richness and complexity in flavor are delectable. The whole soup felt more like a stew, with a lot of chicken and tomato chunks in a fairly viscous consistency.
The chicken fried steak was good. It was very well breaded, providing maximal surface area for crunch, while the steak was chewy for contrast. The jalapeño gravy was a great twist, but I would’ve liked the flavor to be even stronger personally. The leek at the top augmented each bite too. Potatoes were nice and crispy.
The carrot cake was decadent. It had an ungodly amount of cream cheese in it. It was interspersed with the cake at every layer, such that the taste of cake via the carrot and cinnamon wasn’t that noticeable. It was also drizzled with caramel and condensed milk to top it off. It could’ve easily been a dessert for three.
Sooo the shrimp and grits were awesome. They actually wrapped each shrimp in bacon. Yummy! The fried chicken steak was just as good!! Don't get me started onnthe queso
I must say I had heard amazing things about Cheever's. Let me say they were definitely correct!! Drew was our server and helped us decided on what to get. Drew is one of the best servers I ever had. I got the Cowgirl Benedict. It was cooked perfectly. My husband got the spicy ceaser salad and I shared my chicken fried steak with him. Best in the state if you ask me! Drew let me try the jalapeño cream gravy they serve with the chicken fried steak at dinner time. Also fantastic. I'm definitely going back to try something different for dinner. You won't be disappointed. Also you must try the coffee. It's from a local company that is right next door. Yummy
I had the molasses roasted chicken and it was delicious. I am just passing through this city but I would argue that this place is a hidden gem. The service was excellent and the food was just as great.
Lunch was fantastic. Driving through from Chicago. It was a great spot. Luckily we came when it was not busy because they prefer reservations. They were kind enough to still seat us. Worth the bite for sure
First time visiting (trying to visit all the OKC staples) and this will most definitely be added to the regular rotation. Really unique seating style as it’s built into an old house, be sure to call to get a reservation because there isn’t a ton of seating. Service was fine, food had very good flavor and solid portion sizes. The homemade cinnamon roll for an appetizer was wonderful.
Dinner was delicious. The queso was very good. We all liked the halibut the best but those who got shrimp and grits liked that as well. I was surprised as to how great the pecan ball was.
I always like to start out and say my reviews are unbiased and are solely based on my experience. With that being said…I LOVE Cheevers. It’s one of my absolute favorites for brunch.
Now, let’s get to the good stuff. The food!
ROLLS!! The butter is so dang good.
Shared Plates-Bleu Cheese Potato Chips
We’ve had the cinnamon roll as well & it’s delicious!
Brunch Plates-Cowgirl Benedict with a side of Jalapeño Gravy.
All 4 of us got different plates this morning and they were all amazing.
Day Drinking-I LOVE coffee, so our server encouraged me to try the All-Nighter and it did not disappoint.
My husband and brother in law both got the Bloody Mary and it was amazing.
My sister in law got the Mimosa and it’s always a hit.
Also, their black coffee is so good and flavorful.
Check out the pics to see our brunch win 🏆
Great service, Eva was professional and kind while being extremely efficient and informative. The food and drinks were simply perfect in taste , portion, and temperature. The atmosphere is tastefully decorated and kept pristinely clean. We will definitely return to this wonderful establishment.
Delicious lunch. Everything was just delicious! I think my server was having a hard day so my 4star rating is very gracious. Will definitely return.
This was a friends recommendation... pulled up and the outside wasnt impressive and didnt have high expectations. We ordered the rib eye and halibut. Let me tell ya the food was off the chain! The halibut was absolutely delicious and full of flavor! A must try for sure. The ribeye had a nice smoky flavor to it. The service was top notch as well. We went there was a Birthday celebration and as soon as they found out they gave the dessert on the house! All round a perfect way to end the special day!
Great dinner and service. Staff is great and so is the food. The over easy egg on the carbonara is a nice touch. Friends had the ribeye that they said was very good. Photo is and update for the menu as it shows the price increases for what's online right now
We had our company Christmas party this year at Cheever's. The food was amazing, the service was beyond, portions were huge (we all went home with leftovers) The desserts feeds at least 3-4 people. Cheever's never disappoints
You will always get a delicious meal with a novel twist here. The food tastes amazing. They'll take a classic like chicken fried steak and top it with Jalapeño cream gravy. The ice cream ball is heavenly.
My favorite dish there is the roasted quail stack , think over the top chicken enchilada casserole.
I've eaten nearly everything in the place, and have zero complaints. Dress pretty, dress bohemian, dress how you want, but you'll be swept into a comforting environment very fast. They always leave flowers on the table. Once I had a sad, crying day, and they gave them to me. It was touching. The drinks are equally good, interesting, and strong. Birthdays get a dessert. Celebrate anything here, just make reservations for evenings and weekends because they feel up. Parking is on the side alley of the building. It looks unassuming, hidden by trees.. go. Treat yourself.
Great food and drinks. Unfortunately they couldn’t accommodate us with outdoor seating so we picked up our food.
Everyone enjoyed a pricy but delicious meal and beautiful cocktails!
I've always loved Cheevers. Can be tricky to get a reservation on the weekend but it's worth trying. Upscale romantic dining.
Had a family dinner here and tried the queso, chicken fried steak with mashed potatoes and jalapeno gravy, carrot cake, chocolate cake, and pecan ice cream ball, and old fashioned. Everything was great! They did accidentally bring me the wrong dish, but they were very quick to return with the right one. Really, so good from the dinner rolls, to the desserts, it was all great! The jalapeno gravy could have had more jalapeno spice, but it was delicious. The whole party was very happy with their food. I ate so much and was so happy that I did.
The environment is very unlike anything I've experienced and we thoroughly enjoyed it. We got salmon and the Molasses Roast chicken, both were delicious. We ended the evening with the giant carrot cake which was THE best carrot cake I've ever had and large enough for 2 people to eat and have leftovers! We had a reservation and were seated immediately which was very nice. Service was great and our food arrived in a timely manner.
I got the chicken fried steak with mashed potatoes. The taters were a little cold but still very good. The breading on the chicken fried steak was phenomenal. The steak itself was a little tough but still good. For drinks, I got the Stonecloud Neon Sunshine. My server suggested it and I’m glad she did. For my wife, the server suggested the One More Thyme. I tried it when it came. I normally don’t like cocktails but this is a cocktail I may order for myself next time. It was sweet but not overly sugary. Kudos to their bartenders. It was overall a great experience and I hope to go back soon.
I enjoyed the best brunch this morning at Cheevers with my beautiful daughter-in-law and my grand daughter. Everything we ordered tasted amazing and the place was absolutely perfect. My hats off to the Chef and the servers. Thank you Good Egg for having such a wonderful place to spend a beautiful Sunday morning!
Loved the food here. Our waiter was great and very helpful.
The food was phenomenal. The only thing I will say is make sure you call ahead. Definitely gives off a elegant, fancy vibe.
We highly recommend the Shrimp and Grits or the Carbonara.
There food is okay....not the best at its cost. The atmosphere is really dark and a bit gloomy. I wonder why they would change the way they've been cooking the food when before there was absolutely nothing wrong with it. The dessert was the highlight of the meal. This dessert took me 4days to somewhat complete it
My husband and I stumbled upon this restaurant yesterday while looking for food in OKC and wow, the food was totally rewarding!
They have a little bit of everything for everybody’s taste buds. I got myself the Cowgirl Benedict and it was fantastic. I loved the way everything blended very well with each other and it tasted super good!
My husband got the Cowboy Rubbed Salmon Salad and it tasted as great as it looked!
We also got the cinnamon roll and it was wonderful. It wasn’t super sweet. It was also sized pretty decently.
We will totally come here again given the chance.
My first impression of the food was not very good. I ordered the molasses chicken and I hated the taste. It was intensely sweet, I didn’t like the consistency of the chicken.
Went back and tried their seasonal dish. Seared Ahi tuna with cilantro rice and it was really tasty. Plus their pecan ice cream ball is to die for 🤤
Will go back to try other menu items for sure.
Packed on a Tuesday night!! (Before Christmas, albeit). We sat at the bar and were very happy with the food, the service, and the decor. The history of the location adds a lot of flavor to the experience, so read the back of the menu and ask the staff to tell you a little more too! The cocktails were really excellent, and the free bread rolls kept coming. Soups, grits, chicken, shrimp, carrotcake-- everything was delicious.
My hubby and I went on a date for the first time here tonight & IT WAS ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!!! Nice, romantic, little spot. The staff was great. My drink, salad, food and dessert was the BEST I’ve ever had.(tons of leftovers)Such a wonderful, fun experience! We will be back. Thank you!!
Excellent value for a nice dinner. I got the filet, my wife got the molasses roast chicken, both were excellent. We had great service and really enjoyed ourselves, would definitely come back! With drinks and meals, we were out for around $100 not including tip
This place is very small with no parking. It's awkward walking in waiting to get seated. The service is pretty slow. The drinks were good. The Caesar salad was on the bland side made with the more romaine style little gem lettuce rather than the tender leaf cups. The short rib was fatty and should have come with tortillas. We asked for them but never got them. The cinnamon roll is huge and good but should have been freshly made and hot. It seems it had been sitting a while. I would go back at opening and sit at the bar.
Our experience at Cheever's was nothing short of perfect. We were OKC overnight and found this to be a wonderful treat. My friend had their chicken and found it quite flavorful. I had their cauliflower bread pudding and it was excellent. We loved the history of the quaint flower shop turned Cafe. Staff was excellent as well as the food and drinks.
I enjoyed the atmosphere of this place. Went for brunch and it was a little upscale but still casual and comfy. We had the short rib chilaquiles and the shrimp and grits. Both dishes were good. Lots of flavor going on for both. The mimosas were really good. Everything was fine but I wasn’t super impressed.
The quail starter is a great mix of southwest spice without being too strong. Braised ribs were amazing and melt in your mouth. The potatoes and jalapeño gravy of the chicken fried steak were super flavorful, though breading could have been crunchier.
Our server Joseph was exceptional!
I love this restaurant. They have my favorite desserts, and I never mind or regret consuming the calories (completely worth it). I love the chocolate cake and the ice cream ball. The ice cream is rolled in toasted nuts and covered with chocolate chili sauce and a drizzle of some sort. Our table of four ordered both desserts, and we ate our fill and had leftovers of both. I had a Brunch Punch and didn't really enjoy it. I think Neighborhood Jam has my favorite. I gave them three stars for service because our server was not very attentive. My water glass was almost empty most of the time. I felt a little neglected, and I wondered if it was because we only ordered dessert. I would have liked another cocktail, but they never asked. That being stated, the dessert is 100% worth it.
Make sure you call ahead and make a reservation, especially if it's on the weekend.
This cafe is a legend in OKC and we finally got there after many years. We made a reservation for a Sunday afternoon at 1 o'clock and when we arrived, naturally the place was full with a small crowd hanging around the front door (note to staff, set up a place for people waiting for their table to sit).
Once seated we were promptly greeted by our server, armed with fresh hot rolls and butter.
The waitstaff at Cheever's are phenomenal. They know the menu inside and out and can, if prodded, recite the ingredients of the food by heart. Friendly and efficient, the entire experience was outstanding.
The food was superb. I had the roasted chicken enchiladas with cilantro rice. A wonderful choice, everything seasoned just right, the cilantro rice is very addictive.
If you have friends come in from out of town this is a definite gotta-go-to place. It's kind of crowded, but very nostalgic and a very genteel eatery.
Took the fam, to a nice meal on vacation in Oklahoma City. The food was amazing! The wait staff was incredible, my glass never went dry. The halibut was so delicious and the beef short rib melted in your mouth. Even the kids chicken tenders were great, fries and fruit were fantastic. Highly recommend this place for a nice meal.
We recently dined at Cheever’s with a group of five friends and it was great! The food is always quality here but our server, Jeff, made the experience seamless from start to finish and did so with ease and a smile on his face. It really elevated the evening and we are grateful to have high quality service in OKC!
Came for a late lunch on. Friday and really had a good experience. Our waitress was super helpful when we asked about cocktails and certain menu items. She recommended a brunch style coffee cocktail with bourbon and vanilla and it was great. We started with the quinoa and avocado salad and it was delicious. Such a great combo of flavors. For mains I opted for the short rib melt and it was really good. Good sauce and bread. My friend got the Chile relleno and it was amazing, a different take on a great classic, the flavors were exploding and so good. I will get that next time for sure. It was a great meal and experience and we will be back!
Went to cheevers for brunch. Our party ordered the salmon salad and the chicken fried steak.
Service: 2/5 - I came in to the restaurant and was seated in a non ideal location and politely requested a seat change since the place was empty. Our host seemed a bit irritated by the request. Service was slow for ordering and checking out.
Food 3/5- salad had excessive blue cheese. Chicken fried steak was good. Portion is small so order an appetizer.
Place was tidy but cramp with the layout.
We had a reservation for 8:15 and were seated by 8:30, not too bad. It's a beautiful restaurant inside and out. Super cool place to visit! We had the Juan's Queso layer dip, (it looks kind of gross and was kind of greasy, but it tastes SO GOOD). It's a starter but we ordered it with our meal and shared it. Our entrée was the AMAZING Chicken Fried Steak. It comes over a bed of red mashed potatoes and topped with the most delicious Jalapeño Cream Gravy. Seriously, I dream about this gravy... for dessert, I recommend the pecan ball. It's the 8th Wonder of the World, just saying. Our server was Joey and he was great. It was busy but we got our food pretty quickly. Thank you for giving us a delicious dinner! Perfect place for a romantic date night!
The atmosphere and history of this place is neat. Our waitress was helpful and polite. The food was really good except there isn't a lot of vegitarian/ pescatarian options which was a bummer for us. Prices are a little high but would definitely recommend for a date night.
I will say this, this is a cool place to eat. Service was amazing and the food was very good. The chicken fry was really good. You get two mind you and it w fill you up. The steak was great as the veggies and pico were awesome. You must save room for the chocolates cake as that will finish you lunch or dinner off with a smile. The decor was very cool too. An old flower shop that was owned by a local family. The details are on the menu so take time to read the history. Will be back.
Outstanding find in uptown OKC! Atmosphere is relaxing and inviting, service is spot on and food out of this world flavor! If you're a blue cheese fan, try the Blue Cheese chip appetizer, it's YUMMMMY! Chicken fried steak is DELISH and perfectly paired with bunch potatoes! Special of the day, Pecan waffle sandwich is loaded with flavor and huge! What you ABSOLUTELY must not leave without tasting/taking with, if you have no tummy room is the CARROT CAKE!! Hands down the best in the history of ever!
ABSOLUTELY find time to experience Cheever's, you WON'T regret it!
Celebrated our wedding anniversary here and had a great time. Food was delicious, must try the chicken fried steak, best I've ever had. The portions were large, my wife and I shared one serving. The waiter Will was awesome and made the night very enjoyable.
We reserved the private room that seats 10 for a family graduation dinner. The food and service were both superb. I had called ahead and asked for sparkling wine glasses to be ready and two bottles of Gruet. Those items were ready and the toast was made before the guests got too settled in. Our server, Corbin, was a real pro and kept up with our group smoothly. The appetizers were really good and we ended up being too full for dessert. A very nice evening.
While being on a road trip across multiple states, we did a quick google search and got lucky to find Cheever’s among the top rated restaurants in Oklahoma city. What a great customer service! Super welcoming and very yummy food. We ordered the cowgirl benedict, Cheevers chicken fried stake, and a delicious homemade cinnamon roll. Excellent place and highly recommended :)
We had lunch at Cheever's as we were passing through town on an extended road trip with our dog. The food was excellent and the staff was VERY pet friendly. Would recommend Cheever's highly to anyone, with or without a pup.
Cheevers is a classy atmosphere with friendly staff and great food! Though the atmosphere is upscale, you don't have to dress the part. The food tastes as good as it looks.
Our family breakfast was seated and waited on quickly. Polite service, and there were so many menu choices I wanted to try. Every plate was eye pleasing and tasteful. Our group of 7 had a exquisite brunch.
My server was wonderful and had great recommendations. When I complimented the green rice that accompanied the seafood tamale he brought me back a handwritten recipe from the kitchen! The entire meal was delicious, but get the quarter ice cream ball instead of the half if you don’t have at least one other person to help eat it.
Very beautiful and clean place to eat. All the food is fresh to order. The atmosphere is just amazing. The wait staff and bartenders and always super nice. You are welcomed like family here. The dishes we have tried are bar none. The chicken fried steak is one of the I have had. I love beef and trust me if you like chicken fried steak you must try this one. We had the molasses chicken, quail short stack appetizer, and shrimp risotto. You must try this place. Every road trip thru okc I will eat here for sure.
Jesse was phenomenal! Make sure you request him as your server when visiting. You will not be disappointed! He stayed on top of everything. Best dine in experience I’ve had during my visit in OKC!
Cheevers did not disappoint! The food, drinks, and service were all great! We will definitely be back to try some of the other things on the menu.
I did want to specifically point out that we absolutely loved our server! She really knew her stuff and we appreciated her input.
Love this place! On the pricey side but I love the quaint and intimate atmosphere. All three of us loved our meals but I can't remember the name of my mom's dish so the picture will have to suffice. My daughter had french toast bread pudding and I had the chicken fried steak. Everything was excellent!
Pricy, but I don’t say that as a negative. The food was worth every penny. The service was fantastic, and the ambience was very cozy. Parking kind of sucks, but it’s not the worst.
Great as always. Will was a wonderful server! The Bloody Mary delish. The special..crab cake eggs Benedict was superb. The fruit side dish had the best fresh fruit. Perfect!
Paul was our our great server! Food was delicious and everything was amazing! Totally recommend. The carrot cake/chocolate cake are sharable size fyi! They are giant!
Still the best chicken fried steak and mashed potatoes in the state, if not the entire midwest! If you've never had it, go for lunch. You'll need an afternoon nap, however!
Celebrated a birthday there for lunch. Most times it helps to have a reservation, but on that day the lunch crowd wasn't bad.
Our server "A" was awesome as she was able to help answer any questions about items on the menu.
I had the Smoked Turkey Melt and my wife had the Grilled Shrimp Casarecce. We also ordered the Shaved Brussels Sprout and Kale Salad which was refreshing.
We wanted something new to try while visiting OKC. The service was outstanding and food was fabulous. The desert was the quarter-sized fried icecream and it was more than enough for two! Chicken enchiladas and Atlantic Salmon with rolls on the side.
The mockingbird cocktail is delicious! We got the chicken fried steak and the molasses chicken, both were amazing. Super pricey but every bite was so good.
Great portions, delicious food
I recommend the blue cheese chips & shrimp grit. 😊😊
Their dinner rolls were good too. …
Cheevers food is always delicious. I have been disappointed with the service at so many restaurants lately; especially when dining with a large group. I was with a group of 10 last night. The service was absolutely perfect.
Growing up in the OKC metro, I heard how great the food and atmosphere were here. Making it one of my last meals before moving away, I got to enjoy the amazing food and wonderful staff! I can’t recall the waitresses name, but her great recommendations and knowledge of the whole menu, including wines :), made the experience that much better! When visiting, I definitely won’t hesitate to get another reservation! The history of the building and name are on the back of the menu, which I thought was a cool way to pay homage.
THIS PLACE IS SO CUTE AND SO GREAT! The history behind the restaurant is amazing. We sat at the bar and had the best service from Ben during Brunch. It was the first time we had sat at a bar where we didn't feel pressured to order alcohol or leave quickly. Ben was super knowledgable about the menu and helped us with our decisions as it was our first time there. The complimentary bread was amazing, our coffees and waters were always full, and the food is just AMAZING. We ordered an appetizer and everything came out well timed so that we didn't have too much food at the same time. Definitely a good place for a brunch date, fancy and intimate but busy so there's not a lot of pressure to talk constantly. Cannot wait to come back and try more things! Get the chips and dip to start off for sure, or just keep that bread coming.. delicious!
First time visiting. Larger inside than I expected with nice seating (except across from door opening). Nice menu, friendly & efficient waitstaff. Will go back again.
tasty hidden gem. gr8 atmosphere excellent service and good options. everyone from the bus boy to the manager checked on us making sure our experience was one to remember.
We ate on the patio at Cheever's this evening for dinner. I felt comfortable because all of the waitstaff were properly wearing masks, and we were seated far from other tables. They turned on an outside heater for us and it was the perfect atmosphere for a really wonderful dinner. Our server was extremely professional and quick. We had the queso for an appetizer, which was an unexpected treat. Absolutely delicious and unique. We had chicken fried steak and the filet for our entrees and finished off with the chocolate cake. It was truly a magical dinner, especially after eating at home almost every meal this month. We will definitely be back for patio seating and hopefully when the pandemic is over, indoor dining too. The food and the service easily rivaled some of our favorite restaurants in NYC and San Francisco.
It was our first time to eat at Cheever's Cafe and we found it to be a good experience. The restaurant itself is upscale type restaurant with a surprisingly not pretentious atmosphere. The food was fantastic and the wait staff even better. We had a caesar and a kale salad. The kale salad had apples and grapes which was a nice touch. A good selection of entrees, from steak to fish. We ordered the short ribs, and the cheesy grits and shrimp. The short ribs were the better of the two, but both were delicious. 2 glasses of chianti and a slice of carrot carrot (enormous) and the total was 145 dollars. So a special occasion kind of place for us typically, but would highly recommend the restaurant. Go check ot out.
Absolutely love the cowgirl Benedict. Everything about that dish is perfect and delicious! We only wishbone was available other than brunch on the weekends. My son enjoyed the French toast.
Look at this fish.... just look at it. This was my fish, you don't get to have it. But I'm pretty sure they'll make you one if you ask nicely. Try it, you won't be disappointed. This fish was insane; it was flaky and fresh and flavorful and I could alliterate all day... try the fish. Side note: drinks are also incredibly good.
Everything was delicious! We had a big group and had a private room. The food was all wonderful, and the service exceptional. Wish we had room for dessert!
My first ever restaurant experience in OKC And i really liked it
Their whole menu is awesome
Highly recommended
Cheever’s was a really nice experience! I went here with my fiancé and a good friend of ours and we got the two specials and the blue potato chips and split them between the three of us. The blue cheese potato chips were really good! Loaded up and had great flavour! The two entrees were a filet and a collared green wrapped ahi tuna. The steak was really solid, and I’m pretty picky about my steaks at restaurants! It was crispy and salty ok the outside but medium/medium rare on the inside (we like rare but don’t often order it that way out). I honestly wasn’t a huge fan of the ahi, it ended up being pretty dry in my opinion, but it was topped with this great spicy tuna tartare.
They had a nice beer selection and I tried the sour they had which was really great. I think my only complaint (which is more of an observation) but every table got served a basket of bread before their entree came out and we got ours about five minutes before our entree came out. I think it just made us feel unimportant and like we weren’t valued customers since we were walk-ins and didn’t have reservations. Other than that, I would come back and try it out again!
Amazing dinner! 😊 Their ribeye was one of the best I’ve had, and I’m quite particular when it comes to steak. Cooked perfectly with so many wonderful flavors. The carbonara was also quite tasty. Great drinks and great service! Highly recommend. Take note these are both half servings in the photo as they were shared
Food was absolutely amazing!!! My picky eater loved their "Fancy Mac and Cheese"
Great food, service, and atmosphere. Waitress Brandi was outstanding. The Seafood Sweet Potato Tamale and Shrimp with Grits were excellent; the 7-layer Chocolate Cake with Gooey Butter Cream Icing was to die for.
The food was very good but the service a bit off tonight. I'm not sure what was going on. If you have never been there, the parking lot is a mess. You are better off parking in the street. The spots are so small that when a deully truck parks there (which they do since it's their nice truck ) the inside tires are on the lines. I've never been pinned in by a vehicle that parked next to me before! Of course the truck was not any fault of Cheevers (but their parking lot is). BTW, the 'small' is an understatement. 5 leaves of lettuce with cheese crumbles and a glaze is what was served. At first I thought it was a joke! Lol They bring bread rolls and butter which is good. The food was professionally presented as you would expect with deserts that are outstanding. I was told they make a very nice French 75. I promised myself that I would only eat half my meal and take the rest home no matter how hungry I was. As it turns out, I am miserably stuffed and was still able to bring half my meal home. I was a bit worried after the salad... No fear of leaving hungry!
Great brunch spot, wonderful food and atmosphere, I had the stuffed french toast and was stuffed in return. This place has good art, a nice dinning room, and a covered and shaded patio. The restaurant was busy but the server was prompt and attentive and didn't miss a beat or a refill.
Best filet, chicken fried steak and carrot cake in OKC. Excellent service and pleasant atmosphere.
The only reason it's not 5 stars is that they didn't update their online menu, and I really wanted shrimp pasta, but food was super tasty, and OMG, you need to order carrot cake!
First - the greeting on a Saturday mid day was done with a smile from the hostess and promptly we were seated! It was anniversary weekend for us and time to celebrate!
Brunch menu items were in effect as the server explained (Andi) ... I was eyeballing the chicken and waffles and she gave us all the time we needed. She did get my mimosa lightning quick and sipping away into bliss I was.
We decided on the queso for an appetizer and oh my goodness....best decision ever!!!! It was probably the best queso I have ever tasted...(I am a queso connoisseur!)
Andi took our order and brought out some bread that was piping hot and fresh....I ate 3 of the 4 pieces...it WAS decadent.
The order of chicken and waffles did not disappoint. It was huge and delicious. The chicken fried steak my wife ordered had great flavor and was quite large!!!
I had a rum punch drink for dessert and Togo box was needed for the food.
I can't wait to the next visit at Cheever's as the service in addition to the food was VIP like!
All members of the team should be commended!!!!
Thanks for being awesome...til next time-
Respectfully,
Bryan

Great for a date or a special night out!
Yes, it's a little pricey but it's seriously phenomenal food.
We are new to Oklahoma City and haven't been terribly impressed with the food. (Sorry OKC) This time I did some serious research to find a good date night spot & we were so pleased!!
I wrongly assumed that we wouldn't need a reservation for a Thursday night, but they were able to seat us at the bar which was fine. Ben is knowledgeable about the food menu AND a great mixologist!! The Black Swan (seasonal cocktail) was omg delicious. I had the lamb prime rib and my hubby had the chicken fried steak. Both were excellent. Lamb was cooked perfectly. My mouth is watering as I write this review!! Lol
Cheever's is our new favorite spot & I can't wait to try brunch!
Food was very good! Service was great. This place is busy, so you might want a reservation.
We came in in between lunch and dinner so the restaurant was practically empty. We ordered: Juan's Quezo Chihuahua, mixed seafood tamales, spicy caesar salad, and chicken fried steak. Everything is great and filling. The serving size is huge. We did not have room for dessert.
Definitely recommend.
Highly recommend! Amazing flavors and very fresh ingredients. Classy and intimate ambiance. I ordered the cauliflower bread pudding after it was recommended by the waitress and I’m so happy I did. It was delicious!! The queso appetizer, quinoa avocado salad, and the chicken strudel were also extremely good. As for drinks, the cocktails were well made and not too expensive. Overall great experience!
The food was the best I've had in a while. I had the Cowgirl Benedict, the breading on the chicken fried steak was heavenly. The service and atmosphere were also fantastic, highly recommend.
Awesome staff and flavors. One small issue with the food, bacon was a little bit overcooked. Everything else was great.
Great food! Hostess could be friendlier. Server Miguel was good though.
Great tasting food at a great value. Huge portions so if you don't eat a lot it's better to share a main plate. Friendly staff and great atmosphere.
The food was good but they charged us a fee for sharing... It's a bit too fancy for the casual dining we were looking for at the time.
Great food with friendly staff. They all made sure I was properly taken care of. The interior is so cozy and inviting.
This is the place for Saturday brunch! ( I was told Sunday Brunch is so popular they made a Saturday brunch) Excellent attentive service from our server Drew. There to fill up water and check on our food and if we need anything else. He even offered hot water to sterilize the pacifier. The chicken fried Steak was flavorful, tender and perfect crispy texture with potatoes and an egg. And the first drink on the menu. Sooooo well balanced and tasty 😋 oh and the rolls with a side of butter with pink sea salt sprinkled on top
Absolutely delicious!!! They take classic comfort food and elevate it. Including plating and favor. The venue is a cool old flower shop from the first days of OK City. The historical building is very cool, they use the old flower fridge as a beer and wine cooler. They also had delicious blue cheese chips, and chicken fried steak. This is a great place for buisness meetings and dates!
Small, cozy, nice and tasty, it is a little but expensive, but it doesn't matter, the overall experience is good.
If you go on weekends, bear in mind there's no lunch menu, only brunch and dinner and this one starts until 4 pm.
Always a five star experience when I go to Cheever’s. The food is amazing, the restaurant is beautiful, service is great. Definitely an Oklahoma City staple.
I am a raving fan of Cheevers! I love this place because the food is incredible, fresh, interesting combinations of ingredients, and consistently smashing. The wait staff is over-the-top friendly and gracious. I've been multiple times and item ordered has been perfection. My latest treat was the shredded brussel sprout and kale salad and filet. Amazing!
Atmosphere was good. The Atlantic Salmon was great. Service was great. We had reservations and were seated quickly. Our waiter was attentive and pleasant.
Excellent! They have a small room for business or private events! It sits maybe 15 or so.
Yes! we are up scaling with cheevers. Im usually alone when i choose to dine at cheevers so, I end up getting it to go. The atmosphere is calming🐩 O my the go to meal for me is always chicken fried steak. Im just a country girl. No matter for lunch or dinner. Dinner you receive bigger portions of course. Mashed potatoes with the jalopino pepper gravy👍👍 There whole Desert line up 👍👍👍👍⭐ first choice for me the Huge chocolate cake. Carrots cake and than ice cream ball. The employees are extremely polite. The story of cheevers is fascinating. Revised the photos show a year in a half later. This is the second time I've ordered delivery from Cheever's and I'm making it the last time I'm eating from Cheever's
Our experience was wonderful...the atmosphere was mysteriously amazing.
The food was amazingly creative, and the taste was astonishing. Love it!
What a delicious delightful experience! Cheevers still is # 1 for lunch dates in the metro! The shrimp and grits, chicken salad and pimento sandwich were delectable! Don't forget to save room for dessert! The Ice cream chocolate bomb is shareable and oh so good! Our wait staff was so friendly and helpful!
The food was so delicious. I had the eggs Benedict over chicken fried steak. The quality was awesome. The service is great. It's very elegant inside.I will go back again.
Awesome food presentation, food quality, food taste, and quality service!
Went for lunch and had calamari for app, chicken steak for main course, and carrot cake for dessert. Everything was good. The establishment is small and always crowded. Make reservations!!
First time back in a spell. Ben makes a tasty club special. Check out these blue cheese nachos, those are potato chips. Great comfort food.
Awesome food and awesome service! Great recommendation from our server Curtis!!
Picture is the quail short stack with bacon, avocado. Small tortilla strips to add that perfect crunch.
Nice place, the food was really good! I had chicken and waffles. Call before hand because it was crowded and there were only two spots in the bar.
This place is the bomb! On the pricier side for my taste but really worth every penny. I try to make a stop here at least once a month. The only downside is it can be busy.
What an amazing place, i had the quail and it was soooo good, well season and perfectly cook l. My my have the short rib an also was amazing, a great time, great ambience
My favorite place to come for dinner. Filet is amazing, the pasta is definitely my favorite. Do not pass up the queso dip.!!!
Really amazing food and service. The French toast pudding is crazy good. The chicken fried steak was the most tender and crispy delicious I have ever had. Don’t be scared of by the jalapeño gravy. I gotta learn to make that!
The service and food were too notch. This place has possibly the best foor in OKC. This is a foodies paradise with ingenious and delicious plates. The drinks there are superb and delectable. I cannot rave about this place enough. Definitely go there. I went for brunch and will definitely be back. Being an Atlanta native that is down here while for work, I'm big on brunch as we have some of the best in the world there but this place exceeds alot of those spots in Atlanta. Can wait to go there again.
This is one of the best restaurants in Oklahoma City. Combine the quality of the food, how well it's prepared, great service, and incredible consistency and you have a winning formula. All of their dishes are well seasoned and properly cooked every time. In my dozen or so visits I have never had a dish disappoint me. Have I liked some more than others? Yes, but they were all good. Highly recommended.
Food was delicious, the cafe was very cozy, and waitress incredibly friendly and helpful. Had the Cowgirl Benedict & All Nighter drink. Both very good! Highly recommend!
I don't agree with anyone saying its overpriced. I had brunch (no alcohol though) for $16.00 plus tip. And it was fantastic-shaved brussel sprouts and bread pudding. Food was well prepared-not overseasoned. Vegetables were crisp-tender and the bread pudding was slightly chewy with a distinct tart berry maceration. The service was quick, attentive and competent. Portions are generous, too. My only suggestion would be perhaps one more vegetarian option in the main plates menu- I had to sub the salad for the normal side that accompanies the pudding. Overall though, it was really really good. For a sit down meal service I'm not sure what kind of prices people are looking for. I'm sure there are cheaper alternatives but you get what you pay for.
Went here for the first time for an anniversary dinner. Really great food. Service was average for us that night. When you order a bottle of wine, typically the server is supposed to come back and keep your glass filled when empty. I don’t think she knew what to do. Building temp was also super cold, but drinking the wine helped 🤣. Will definitely go back. Love the cozy atmosphere.
Go to Cheever's and experience a lovely atmosphere, amazing food, and superior service. ...be warned! The rolls are addictive!
First time i visted it was excellent this time food was cold and the chicken had no taste and chicken fried steak was nothing but breading
The bread here was quite delightful, it had the PERFECT insides, however the crust/outside of the bread could be a bit less crunchy. Overall 5 stars, and my PFP.
A cute place in downtown OKC. This original craftsmen style house has been renovated into a cozy restaurant. The service was excellent and the food was brought to us in a timely manner. However, for the food you will have to make your own conclusions. The menu items seem to be hit and miss. For the price I was expecting to be wowed. Unfortunately, I left underwhelmed.
I must say the hype is real. Food quality and presentation is top notch. The staple fried chicken steak is very very good. Trying to cut back on carbs, if not I wouldda ate 20 of those dinner rolls 👍🏽👍🏽 …
I absolutely love this place! The food is delicious and so are the drinks :) all staff are awesome and friendly. This place is good for all occasions. Great atmosphere.
Passing through town, stopped in here on a whim for dinner at the bar. Are you JOKING?? This place is beautiful, delicious, clean, and provided an overall perfect dining experience. Miguel in the bar was our server and absolutely nailed recommendations for us - ancho salmon, chicken fried steak, broccolini. Incredible value for relaxed fine dining. We are from Dallas and will be sure to recommend this place to others. A MUST-DINE spot, worth the drive! Thanks Miguel and Cheever's!
Chicken Fried Steak &
Stuffed French Toast
Ohhhh sooo Delicious
Pork was flavorless (hard to do!) aside from burnt flavor which they're calling charred. Sweet potato flautas were interesting. Loads of atmosphere, not enough flavor.
The atmosphere is very inviting. We found it traveling Route 66 and they were able to squeeze us in without a reservation. The Bleu Cheese Chips were a meal for the kiddos all by themselves but our 16 year old loved the Boneless Spare Ribs and that is saying something because he likes nothing.
The cauliflower bread pudding is one of the top 10 best meals I've had. It sounds so simple, but every piece of the dish had its own unique flavor that all paired so well together.
This was our first time st Cheever's. The food was excellent, the staff was out of this world, parking it not so great, but the crying kids I can absolutely do without.
Great food and service! We had Roasted chicken & Pepper Jack strudel and dessert carrot cake 🎂
"The Burger" is delicious and the bacon jam makes it even that much better. The one thing that you have to get is the towering piece of carrot cake. This beast is big enough to easily satisfy a party of 3 or 4.
The only reason I’m giving 3 stars is because our server was super knowledgeable and accommodating. He explained the history of the building to us and answered all of our questions about the food, drink, and dessert menus. (I give him 5 stars). If not for him, I’d give Cheevers a 1 star. The menu is incredibly small and extremely overpriced. The tables are crammed together and it’s very hard to walk through the restaurant. We had a reservation in a private room for 5:45 pm for a surprise birthday dinner and the restaurant knew about this weeks in advance. We told the birthday girl’s daughter to be there at 6. At 6:02 an assistant manager or manager came into the room and made it awkwardly clear that there was a reservation for the room at 7:45 pm. That felt rude and uncalled for. It definitely gave us all a bad first impression. I ordered the panko Parmesan crusted grouper with kale risotto and crispy Brussel sprouts. The piece of grouper was way too think and there was hardly any Panko Parmesan breading on the fish. The risotto under the fish was very very good! The brussel sprouts desperately needed seasoning. The rolls were the best part of the entire meal. I won’t go back and won’t recommend.
William took my phone order and delivered it curbside. Everything was awesome and correct. He knew that I was looking forward to my meal and it was totally correct. First time of many.
Thanks William.
The food was amazing! Staff was wonderful. It was a very enjoyable experience. Highly recommend 👌
One of best bites in town. Go on Monday for half-price on their wine bottles.
The food and the atmosphere was great. Pictured is the queso dip, which is delicious. The chicken fried steak is also incredible.
We have not been in to dine as of yet. But, we have had their cinnamon rolls. They are great. Available weekend brunch. Curb side was great.
An Oklahoma staple. Excellent food and service. A great place to have a business lunch or get together with family.
Instantly seated and met by waiter. All tables are covered with fresh white tablecloths. The special was so good I had to stop ordering it at my regular spot (it spoiled all others).
Amazing chicken fried steak! Super friendly and accommodating service, had a lovely first time!
A wonderful dining experience in uptown okc. We were passing through okc and were looking for a varied menu and chuken fried steak. Cheevers was only 4 miles from the RV park we were staying. Food was excellent as was the service. Thanks Cheevers for a great evening.
Delicious every time - I keep coming back for nice dinner or casual lunch.
A great place to meet with friends. Varied menu love the chicken fried steak with jalapeño gravy.
I had a good experience here and the atmosphere is really nice. The menu has some things I never tried before like the seafood tamale. I must say it was good. Service is good
Love this place! Eating here can even cure a broken heart. Get the chicken fried steak if you're really needing help... :-)
This place is truly great.
People serving are great, food was really amazing, and ambiance both casual and fun but eclectic and somewhere you can celebrate an event.
I cannot say enough good about this place.
Anyone who puts pudding on franchise toast gets a 5 out of me. That's been my rule since day one. It's like they followed me around in a black out and wrote down what I did, but served it at a nice restaurant instead of me waddling around my kitchen at 3am
Took my sister for her birthday and absolutely loved the place. The food was delightful and staff amazing! I recommend the quail and chicken fried steak, yummy
Carbonara was delicious! Seated quickly without reservations. Staff was very courteous and attentive.
My husband and I have been here a few times and it’s always a wonderful experience. Chicken fried steak is great. Spicy shrimp risotto but hold some of the spice is very unique and flavorful! Chocolate cake is huge and rich in flavor. Joey was an excellent waiter and was a joy to talk with throughout the evening. We will definitely be back and hopefully we will be seated with Joey again!
Husband enjoyed the skirt steak special (which was basically deconstructed fajitas) and I thought the vegetarian main - Califlower Bread Pudding - was lovely. Almost felt a bit English..
Very quaint, great atmosphere, wonderful food with great presentation, friendly staff.
Nice quaint place. Server was very friendly. Food was very good.
Cocktails were amazing, went down too easy. I had the chicken fried steak, was definitely two meals' worth, and the jalapeno gravy was incredible. Our server Ryan was extremely knowledgeable, and he hooked me up with extra gravy to take home with leftovers. He recommended the cauliflower bread pudding for my fiancé, something we probably wouldn't have normally ordered but were glad we did! Absolutely going back sometime.
Great food. Took my wife here for anniversary lunch. Can't wait to go back!
A classic Americana fine dining experience in Oklahoma. Cheever’s has been a staple in OKC literally forever. For brunch, I highly recommend their chicken and waffles, chicken fried steak, mimosas, etc. Lunch and Dinner menus rotate seasonally with a few staple menu items. (Bring back the lobster Mac and cheese, please.)
Reservations used to be required but sometimes you’re able to find a couple of seats at the bar. Calling ahead is recommended.
Shrimp and grits were delicious! Highly recommended!
Lovely restaurant just outside of downtown with a varied and interesting menu. If you like carrot cake, theirs is amazing. Service was amazing as well.
The quinoa salad, and the chocolate cake made my week. Everything on this menu is so good. Excellent service and atmosphere...one of my OKC favs.
A great restaurant with good atmosphere, excellent staff, and interesting food combinations that work really well. My wife and I had Devin as our server. Fantastic guy with a good sense of humor and a good 6th sense about the timing to engage with customers. Would definitely recommend.
Everything about this restaurant is just right. The food is terrific and the service is great. You'll probably want to make reservations, as the establishment is on the smaller side.
A lovely experience once again. It had been quite awhile since I'd been here, and it was top-notch.
It was our first time eating at Cheever's Cafe and we will definitely be back!! The short ribs were to die for🤗
Cheevers is one of my favorite restaurants in OKC. They are consistently amazing and their brunch is to die for. Just went for an anniversary today and Eddie was the best server we could’ve had! Always great service.
Went here for a business lunch. Delicious food and food service. Staff was friendly. A tad pricey, but you should expect that at a place like this. Worth going for special occasions. Will definitely go back.
Great atmosphere - pretty but laid back. Huge portions. Excellent cocktails.
It's not too often that I award a 5 Star rating, and for Cheever's Cafe, I had to get my review in before I left the building. Fantastic hospitality met me at the door and got me seated at the bar within 5 minutes. Luckily I was traveling solo or a wait for a table would have been 3 HOURS! Very popular spot and after having my first meal from this popular establishment, I can totally agree the wait is worth it. On a recommendation from my boss, I went with Cheever's Chicken Fried Steak which was crispy to perfection. Had to ask for a side of the jalapeno cream gravy for the extra mmmm goodness. I will be back.
I loved the food here, the strawberry biscuits were phenomenal. I'll eat here again any day.
Cheever’s is always amazing! Visited many times and enjoy each and every experience. Friendly helpful staff, delicious food and great location. I recommend all good egg dining hospitality concepts to all my friends and family. Best carrot cake and chicken fried state in Oklahoma.
Great food, beautiful atmosphere, high prices, terrible parking availability
I was looking for a place while passing through town to give me a feel for food typical of OKC. Google showed chicken fried steak, and fried okra as 2 of the local foods. I don't think I've ordered chicken fried steak anywhere, so I looked for a nice place online. Cheevers came up and looked pretty good.
It's a nice place outside and people coming out seemed dressy (it was about 1pm). Inside, it's really nice, kinda upscale, and the hostess was very friendly and got me a table. My server was Jeff and he advised me of specials and took my drink order. They make a nice Stoli and tonic here!
THE FOOD: I ordered their Chicken Tortilla Soup and Cheevers Chicken Fried Steak. My first taste of the soup I had a large hit of salt. After the next spoonful I got some spice (heat) with some nice flavor. Overall it was pretty good.
The chicken fried steak looked great, but they made the mistake of placing the steak ON TOP of the garlic masked potatoes. The steak also has jalapeno cream gravy on top. So.... what happens with a fried (crisp) protein on top of something wet, with wet gravy on it, the crisp coating gets soggy and mushy and is unappetizing. I wish restaurants would stop sacrificing taste for presentation.
The mashed potatoes were great, the jalapeno gravy was bland and kinda tasteless. The chicken fried steak was... a disaster. As stated, the breading on bottom was mushy and thick. I was looking for the steak but apparently it was pounded so thin it kinda disappeared. I would be surprised if it was 4 oz of meat! As I peeled breading away, it made a pile on my plate with just a bit of steak. It was also tremendously salty (which I commented to the server). I would not recommend it as it is. More steak, less salt, less breading.
The service and atmosphere were great. The molasses chicken breast was very dry and hard to get through. My wife got the carbonara and found it bland. She did not end up eating much of it. The amaretto sours we got were very good! I’m sure there are good dishes here, but these weren’t them.
One of my all time, top 3 restaurants ever. We have been going here over 20 years. The food is incredible. Staff is great.
Nice atmosphere, classy but still somewhat casual cafe. Very pretty inside. Its ina very interesting neighborhood. We had reservations so we had no wait. Staff was veey friendly. We ordered blue cheese potato chips as the appetizer. The chips had so much blue cheese drizzled and crumbled, it was hard to handle it. The flavor was so overwhelming. Would have been better with less sauce. My husband got the Valentines Day special waygu steak and I got the short ribs. The steak was definitely not worth the money. It had a funky texture. The steak had too much gristle. The short rib was tender. Very delicious. It had a good flavor but the potatoes and brussel sprouts had way too much salt. Hard to finish them due to the saltiness. I had literally been bugging my husband for years to try this place. I was very disappointed in our food. Maybe it was just an off day.
Grown up dining experience with an elegant atmosphere, respectful and well-informed servers, and delicious food. It can be romantic or fun or ... One of our favorite places for Sunday brunch.
My wife and I were in a bit of a hurry and came across this restaurant while searching online. The reviews were all very good and seamed appealing. It was Saturday and they were serving brunch. It lived up to our expectations…primarily because of our waiter Edward! He recommended the Masa Vallo Con Huevos which is shrimp risotto masa cakes with poached eggs and much more. It was phenomenal. My wife decided to try the chicken fried steak! She said that it was great…which is a lot coming from a person that typically avoids steak! Edward provided tips on where to visit while on our trip to OKC as well! I must say that he was one of the most engaged and truly helpful waiters that we have had in some time!! A great restaurant!
Brian
Delightful atmosphere! Very good food! Recommend reservations! I had a bowl of chicken tortilla soup. Excellent! Mashed potatoes. Yummy! Green beans and a tasty sauce. And broccolini which I found is just a fancy name for broccoli with a long stem. Definitely not my favorite. I would highly recommend the restaurant or takeout. My wife had a seafood dish with very good scallops and her sister had a very tasty chicken. I conclude that all the food here is excellent quality and pleasing to the taste. . .(Except maybe the broccolini.)
First time here and wow! I’m a massive foodie, yea I like a nice atmosphere and clean restaurant but it’s all about the food for me! I got the Cobb Salad, chicken fried steak and the carrot cake and they were all absolutely top notch! Cobb salad had a few little extras in it which I loved and thought they completes a basic Cobb well! The chicken fried steak was not like anything you’ve ever had before, it was a “posh” fried steak but so so good, and yes it’s big enough to share! And then the carrot cake, let me tell you I’m not a carrot cake person, I’d usually go with something a lot different but because it was so highly rated I thought why not! Honestly, best carrot cake I’ve ever ever had! Trust me, from a foodie, this place is beautiful and 5/5
This restaurant came very highly recommended. Let me tell you they did not disappoint. I tried the blue cheese chips and the chicken strudel for starters, the flavors absolutely popped. I, of course, ordered the chicken fried steak, wow. You must try it. I also sampled my friend's food, the vegetarian got the quinoa avocado salad, again the flavors were amazing, last but not least I sampled the shrimp and grits, again, wow. All I can say is I planned my next trip (next weekend) before leaving because I must try everything on the menu. I can't say that very often. The staff were just right. They made sure you were happy (and everything was full) without being overbearing or rushing you.
It was our first time here and we are so pleased with the food especially the cinnamon bun! Our server Eddie was attentive and great! We'd love to come back again during dinner time.
just a total amazing experience staff was very polite and hands on I love it I will be going back
Yo...this place has it all. We tried the chicken strudel, the steak, some layered cheese dip (I forgot the name) and finally...the best thing I ate...the dang chicken fried steak!!
All the food was amazing. Definitely recommend the strudel and the chicken fried steak. They're so good. And the portion sizes are insanely huge. My wife and I got two sides and we could only finish one of them fully and we were already stuffed.
One point of feedback is the steak in the chicken fried steak seemed pretty salty...and that's my only constructive criticism. Keep doing what y'all do!
The best part of our experience was the history of the restaurant. Other then that it took forever to get our order and even longer for the food to arrive. This was a poor visit. But eveyone we talked to said give them another try... Not a fan of season all salt in the butter.
I held a business lunch in their private room. It was amazing. The service was excellent and food was delicious! Our waiter went above and beyond with great service. Thank you!
I would have rated this restaurant way lower if they didn’t have a really great wait staff. My waiter Max was so wonderful, and I got a really positive vibe from everyone else at work.
That being said, I was *really* not impressed with the food. The bread was fantastic, but that’s where it ended for me. Spent $100 on a dinner neither one of us liked. The steaks were slightly over cooked, and the potato au gratin was so burnt it was black on the bottom, and dry all the way through. They legit sold me a $38 plate of food knowing it was totally burnt. At the end of the meal my waiter Max asked me how everything was, and I wasn’t going to mention it until he followed up a few more times with me specifically. I told him the truth, and the restaurant did nothing to fix it.
If this is a treat yourself dinner because you can’t usually afford many nice things, *do not* come here. If you’re okay with maybe wasting $100, I guess come at your own peril 🤷♀️
Not much more to say about Cheevers! It's a great place to eat, the service is outstanding, thank you Joseph for the great service you provided, the prices are fair for what they are providing and they are well aware of actions they have to take because of Covid. This is not my first meal at Cheever's Cafe, I've been eating there since basically the day they opened! And like a fine wine, it's just gotten better with age! Thank you Good Egg Dining for providing such a great place to have a quiet and peaceful lunch! Oh yeah, by the way the alcoholic drinks are absolutely the best and don't forget about their chocolate cake!
First time my daughter & I went to this place. The food was great. We sat at the bar because we didn't know you had to make a reservation. Our server was very attentive, friendly & professional. If we ever come back to OK City, I would definitely go eat at Cheever' Cafe again.
The Burger here is hands down the best I've had in Okc. Delicious!
The bread + butter they serve here is delicious! We loved the friendly, familiar service and look forward to coming back soon.
I wish I could remember the guy who served us because he was great! The Mac & Cheese and Carrot Cake alone are worth visiting this place! I also have to mention the bread and butter because it was SO delicious. We all tried different items on the menu that were great but I just had to mention my favorite. We stopped back the next day on our way home to Texas to pick up two slices (HUGE SLICES) of Carrot Cake. This place is dangerous.
Saw this place on TripAdvisor as #3 in OKC. I tried it and was not disappointed. Victoria was my server and was perfect making suggestions. I would highly recommend this place.
Great food, and a great atmosphere. Staff are always friendly, doing their best to get whatever you need. My wife accidentally thought she had scheduled us for the night of our anniversary, but it was actually the following night. We were already there and they were able to get is in to a packed house. Everyone raves about the chicken fried steak, and it is good, but try some of their other stuff, the shrimp and cheddar cheese grits is great, and so is the molasses chicken breast. Unfortunately I've never been for their brunch, but I do hope to try it sometime.
First time to visit. Did not have reservations, but was seated quickly at the bar. I had the wonderful Sharolynn's salad. The pure maple vinaigretta really added so much flavor to the salad. Ben, was our server at the bar. He did an outstanding job making sure we were taking care of. Side note, the person who was sitting beside me ordered the homemade cinnamon roll. It was the size of my hand with oh so good looking tasty frosting.
Wonderful food, we were definitely not disappointed. We hope to go back again.
The food was awesome staff was GREAT!
Short Ribs!!
Great food and service, I will recomend Cheever's to anyone who wants a tastefull meal
Seafood tamales- the best I've ever had and deliciously decadent dessert. Can't wait to visit again.
Had the grilled chicken enchiladas. Excellent quality and flavor profile. Our waitress, Jennifer, was great, very friendly and helpful. Highly recommend.
Went today during brunch. Shrimp and grits, cowboy Benedict were really good! Only thing about the Benedict is next time I will ask for the egg more firm/well done.
There is this honey butter and sriracha sauce for the grits and it was very good, made the dish.
We plan to go back and try more of the menu.
We ordered it to go over the phone and they have curbside service/pick up. Very convenient and quick.
The whole experience was awesome. The chicken fried steak with mashed potatoes and jalapeno gravy is my new favorite place to have chicken fried steak. Our server Joseph was very informative and very helpful with our drink selection will definitely come back every time I'm in OKC
Cheever's is always an excellent experience. I went for brunch today and loved the strata and the brunch punch. The warm bread and salted butter is always so good, and I've always had great service. Don't sleep on the desserts!
Cheevers has consistently grown in the quality of its menu and staff. The Good Egg has a good thing going. Thank you for preserving the original family home and flower shop. You have continued a food offering every bit as good as the amazing flowers Cheevers always had! Went for Saturday Brunch this time. So so fabulous! I suggest reservations during busy times.
Great dining experience and food was great!
The host & lady who prepared the table were great. I ordered the BLT with smoked turkey- This belongs on the front cover of a food magazine. Absolutely 💯 delicious!!! This was yesterday, so compliments to chef on April 19th lunch. Presentation and Taste A+. The sauce delicious. Everything about this sandwich is noteworthy. I definitely recommend.
I had eaten very little all day and was in town for the week and decided to try them out since I was hungry. I arrived ahead of the dinner crowd so the place was quiet! I ordered the chicken fried steak with jalapeno gravy and garlic mashed red potatoes. The food was good but prices high. The waitress did a great job checking on me but not bugging me while I ate. Great place for a date.
We had such a fantastic experience with our server Matt today for a birthday lunch! He was attentive, suggested wonderful dishes, and made several people’s first time very memorable! As always the chicken fried steak was incredible and the shrimp pasta was out of this world! Can’t wait to come back soon!
Excellent food! Miguel provided fabulous service!
They have really good food here, our waitress & others were amazing....But the real story is there Chicken Fried Chicken/Steak Platter is too fire, I eat this every time I come here....See ya soon....
Chicken fried steak with jalapeño cream gravy. So much food, two can easily share.
We went here for our anniversary and loved every bit of it. Our appetizers were top notch. My steak and my wife’s pork chops were excellent. The service was wonderful. A great dining experience!
Despite the lack of seafood in the “mixed seafood tamales”, the flavors were outstanding, according to my wife, and for me- the “cauliflower bread pudding” was marvelous.
Highly recommend this place if you’re in the area.
The best carrot cake I've ever had!!
We've been coming here for years and never had a bad experience. We always come here for brunch. Food is flat out some of the best I've ever had. Period. Staff is always incredibly nice. The ambiance is a refurbished flower shop and it's fine incredibly well. Fresh flowers on the table.
The cinnamon roll appetizer is basically a must, no matter what you get. The cinnamon roll alone is worth the trip. They have great coffee and great mimosas. I usually get French toast and it's probably the best French toast I've ever had.
It's also very LGBT+ friendly! I mentioned earlier, the staff is very friendly and they really are. They really make you feel welcome. That, combined with the good food, is really a nice experience and it's why we always celebrate our anniversary here!
Great brunch menu! Ordered the cowgirl benedict and chicken fried steak. They were similar and both versions were great! Also had the 5 layer dip...good add. Didnt have reservations, but no issue. Staff was very friendly and service was great on a busy Sunday morning.
I ordered the layer dip chicken enchiladas and seafood tamale. Everything was terrific.
Excellent experience from the time we got there until the time we left. Very prompt attention and Service from the minute we walked through the door. The hostess was very pleasant and greeted us immediately. The waitress was very attentive and accurate. The food was amazing from the first bite until the last. My wife and I both tried the chicken fried steak and I cannot even express in words how amazing it was. 5 stars +. Cannot wait to go back!
Excellent service with overall excellent food. A couple of dishes had some overwhelming flavors (mushroom on one and then really hot raw peppers on another). Even though the balance was off on a couple of things, I was still really happy with our date. Price is reasonable and the dining room is nice but a little loud due to the amount of people in there. Also, the little wine garden thingy they have in there was fascinating. Parking was a little bit of a pain but not terrible. Great date place.
Not much here got those trying to avoid dairy, but other than that it was a very cute brunch spot, friendly staff, and a yummy menu!
The chicken salad plate was delicious as well as a lovely presentation. Generous chunks of chicken combined with grapes, celery and creamy mayo served over a bed of fresh spinach. Sliced apples, strawberries, pineapple, grapes and blueberries were served on the side. The servers were pleasant and timely. Reservations are a good idea even at lunch.
Really enjoyed having lunch here! The service was great and the food was fantastic!
Best Carrot Cake & Chocolate Cake I have Ever Had... In my whole 65 years of life despite ot is $12.00 a slice. Every bit worth it❤❤❤❤❤❤
Excellent food and neat atmosphere !
Staff is great!
Amazing wine selection. Very relaxed atmosphere. Should make reservations. Ribeye was extremely good and melted in your mouth. Rolls are to die for. Desert is out of this world. Nothing not to like here!
Every bite of food we tried here was delightful! Service was good and it was so unique and cozy. Went there for our anniversary and we were impressed with the presentation and pairing on all their dishes. Best trout preparation I've ever had. Cocktails were perfect. It isn't cheap, but the portions are very generous and it was cheaper and better than many other "steakhouse/date night" places I've tried.
Food and service here was excellent! The blue cheese chips appetizer was delicious.
While a little pricey I can attest it was worth it. Great service, and the food was varied and well prepared.
We really want the salt and pepper shakers, but with the friendly service by Abbie, and the AMAZING food, we felt too guilty to pocket them and sneak off. Guess we have to go to the At Home store, now!
Still the best restaurant in OKC. The weekly specials (one surf, one turf) are almost always amazing and even though the menu items are great, I probably order one of these 3/4 of the time. No matter what your main meal is, you have to get the chicken strudel. I’ve brought a lot of business associates here over the years and they’ve never been disappointed (and neither have I).
Never a disappointing meal and the service is always outstanding. I have eaten chicken fried steaks all over the southwest at restaurants who claim they are famous for it. They all pale in comparison. This is the BESTI have EVER eaten!
My wife and I came for our anniversary, and everything was perfect. The food was to die for, and service may have been the best we ever experienced - shoutout to Paul, our server.
We started out with drinks that were expertly made, and moved on to the blue cheese chips. Imagine nachos, but much richer. Our main course was the chicken fried steak, which is good and a MASSIVE portion, and the carbonara pasta with added chicken - which is my recommendation. We were so full that we had to get dessert to go. Let me tell you, the chocolate cake is insatiably decadent and rich.
The prices were surprisingly affordable, considering the quality of food. Service was impeccable. We never found ourselves waiting on our server, instead he was one step ahead.
Do yourself, and your date, a favor, and eat at cheevers!
It was amazing! Of waiter Jeff was super sweet and friendly. The restaurant was is a must go to! Also we ordered the chicken fried steak and yes it was super yummy! We're from Texas so we're picky with our chicken fried steak.
fantastic service and really good sandwich. Fries lacked some, and it was a little crowded but this will be on my list to return to
My wife requested for her birthday, and it was amazing. The Chicken Fried Steak is the best in the state. Wine selection was really good, but nothing Italian. Dessert was a HUGE piece of carrot cake and took both of us to eat. Exquisite food and atmosphere.
This place is quaint and delicious! We ordered the cinnamon roll to start for brunch. It's homeade and fluffy. Then we split with french toast bread pudding(this is like dessert). And also the Cowgirl Benedict. Great combination of flavors and the chicken fried steak was one of the better ones I have had. Service was great! Atmosphere is intimate and great! Must try.
This restaurant is a gem! My husband and I went here for a Saturday brunch while visiting from Houston. We were seated quickly and received accommodation (a sling) for our infant right away. The staff was friendly and professional. On recommendation from our waitress we started our feast with the roasted chicken and pepper jack strudel - a must-try item! We then ordered short rib breakfast tacos and french toast bread pudding- again, delicious. Finally, because the waitstaff kept dancing them before our eyes to other tables, we ordered their giant cinnamon roll. Fluffy, just-right sweet, and perfectly spiced. We thoroughly enjoyed our time here and would highly recommend this spot to anyone visiting from out of town!
What a place! Hip, classy and boy oh boy, the food! Top that all off with the tremendous service, and this place becomes an instant go-to.
The Blue Cheese chips were amazing to start. The Quinoa salad was a pile of moosh. It needed to be atop a bed of lettuce or served with a salad. It was good but could be so much more elevated. It needs a kick more of flavor just as the Chopped salad did as well. Decent presentation on the quinoa salad but the Chopped Salad was just ok and the dressing used was pretty bland. Service was just ok. Our waitress was a bit standoff-ish and not overly friendly. If the Blue Cheese Chips were not so amazing my star rating would be a 2 to be honest.
theevers Cheevers I am a bleevers for my Cheevers with a bunch of dam building beavers, dream weavers aka Cheevers
Best chicken fried steak in town. The carrots cake and fried ice cream the bomb. Staff very professional friendly and accommodating. The Sterling salad is out of this world. Can't say enough nice things about Cheevers. A+++××
Staff spent a lot of time and attention to ensure the customer's order was correct. Beautiful, clean establishment. Professional staff. Thank you cheevers for delivering such wonderful service.
I come here at least twice a month and split the chicken fried steak with my lady friend. We absolutely love this place and the service is exceptional. A true OKC icon in my most humble opinion.
A must visit at Oklahoma City! Came here last year and loved the ambiance, the staff and the food. Visited again this year and I am still amazed by the food and the story behind this place. portions are huge so make sure you are hungry. Blue cheese nachos is a must try the chicken with mashed potatoes, quinoa salad with cowboy rub salmon and the burger is to die for. The chocolate cake and the carrot cake are divine
They gave fabulous Muscato wine & terrific orange beer! But, the biggie everyone has to try is Cheever's Roasted Ice Cream. Oh my gosh! It is worth the trip alone!
Enjoy the great waiters, nostalgic atmosphere, and awesome food!
Mary J. from Sapulpa, OK
This is a great place for dinner. We usually go for special occasions i.e. when family comes to visit from out of state or something. The food tastes great and is presented really well. I would describe it as southern comfort food. We got the chicken fry steak, blackened redfish, and mixed seafood tamales. It's always a great experience!
The chicken salad with fruit was very good. Excellent service every time. The ice cream ball is beyond wonderful, and it's complementary if it's your birthday! It can get noisy when it's really busy, so go at slower times if that's a concern for you.
Such attention to detail! Even the soup of the day + side salad are phenomenal. Amazing cocktails. Lovely ambiance. Excellent service. Altogether great experience.
Absolutely the best experience for brunch! From the moment we walked in, the host greeted us and seated us immediately! Our server, Ross, was friendly, efficient and most accommodating to my special requests. The chef, the bartender and all the others who checked in on us made this brunch the best! Wish we knew all their names to personally say thank you! Can't wait until we're back in town in a few months to enjoy this amazing restaurant again!
I give Cheever's 4 of 5 stars for their "shrimp and grits." If you like "shrimp and grits" cooked southern style Cheever's is the place to go.
Loved it! We will be returning. We got to-go and there was a slight mistake but Whitney the manager made the entire experience amazing.
She could teach a course in customer service. Loved the experience and care. Best place in okc.
Our service was amazing, everything came out very fast and the food was delicious! The chicken fried steak was dang good and the shrimp and grits were great as always. We love how small this is, just feels so much more intimate. Thank you for an amazing dinner yet again, Cheevers!
This place is incredible. My favorite restaurant in the city by far. Literally every single item on their menu is amazing. You have to try the chicken fried steak! It's fancy and the jalepeno gravy is delicious. The atmosphere of the place is quaint and cozy, and all the staff are so friendly and helpful. I ordered take-out one time, and when I got home I realized they had forgotten the jalepeno gravy on my chicken-fried steak, so I called and they not only apologized, but THE OWNER IMMEDIATELY DELIVERED IT TO MY HOUSE AND GAVE ME A FREE CHOCOLATE CAKE!!! The crazy thing is that level of customer service is standard at Cheever's. My wife and I come here for every birthday and anniversary - we love it. If you haven't already, do yourself a favor and treat yourself to a perfect evening at Cheever's. I cannot overstate how great this place is.
Incredible service with incredible food. They offer little unique twists on regular favorites. For example, my favorite dish there -- the chicken fried steak, has jalapeno gravy and it just works. It's so good. These twists they do make the food contemporary and simply better. I've always experienced good service and I feel that the price is fair for the creativity and execution of their dishes. I highly recommend!
This was my first time here and it did not disappoint! Our server was funny and great. The food was delicious!! I ordered the "CHEEVER’S CHICKEN FRIED STEAK,
jalapeno cream gravy and garlic red skinned mashed potatoes." I ate every single drop of food on my plate. If no one was looking I would have picked my plate. SERIOUSLY. If you have not tried this place, call them, make a reservation and enjoy a good atmosphere and great food.
Great atmosphere, amazing food, stocked bar...what more could you ask for? Went for Sunday brunch. Started out with a generous mismosa which was delicious. Had the Bleu Cheese Chips at a small plate appetizer for the table, which was delicious. I had the green chili pork stack at the recommendation of the waitress, which was an excellent choice, if I do say so myself. Great service, considering it was prime Sunday Brunch time. No wait for a table of four. Very pleased, will be back!
Delicious salads and rolls! Good shrimp and grits. Chicken fried steak had good taste, but too much batter. Good ice cream ball dessert.
We came here on Saturday afternoon and it was packed! We got the breakfast burrito and it was good. I would probably get something else next time but overall a good dining experience.
The Cowgirl chicken fried steak is delicious. (That's not the exact name, but you can find it using that info). The ice cream ball is also delicious. If I had a complaint, it's the lack of personal space. Nowhere to wait without someone within reach, I hate that.
I was not impressed. The food was just okay. Definitely not worth the hype.
There were six of us and we had a variety of foods. The fish was overdone and basically just had almonds laying on top, it was not almond encrusted. It was a special of the day and so you would have thought that it would be special but it was overdone mahi-mahi with almonds lying on top. Save your money if you want an expensive wonderful meal and go to Vast.
Cheevers has delicious food but the wait service can be inconsistent. When the place is jammed, water refills and wait staff revisits get rare. The person with your food doesn't know who had what, etc.
Amazing rood, amazing story behind restaurant, service was top notch.
The food and service was amazing, and I don't say that about many places. I always saw this place for YEARS, but it never crossed my mind to try it; now it's one of my favorite places
My first time in OKC since moving to OK and this place was recommended for a nice cafe to have lunch. Did not disappoint! One of the best chicken fried steaks (amazing jalapeno taste) and service to match. There wasn't a rush at the time, so it was a fairly quiet atmosphere. I will most definitely be back when in the area again.
Great service, large wine list...short beer list. Great cocktails. Food was a bit pricey for the serving size.
Love chicken fried steak and the grits! perfect atmosphere for date night or casual dinner with friends!
We had brunch here on Sunday and were so pleased! The meal was amazing! I got the shrimp and grits with a mimosa and my husband got the Cowgirl Benedict with the all nighter for his drink and the food was amazing! My shrimp and grits were so good and I LOVED the fact that they took the tails off. I have been to so many high end restaurants where they don't do that! I loved it and the flavor was so good. My husband's Benedict was just as good with the red chili hollandaise sauce and skillet potatoes, he loved it! The quality was really there and so worth the money that you pay. We treated ourselves to the smaller order of Roasted Pecan Ice cream ball and oh my that was so very good! I think we got the 1/4 size which was perfect for us to share since we were stuffed from the meal. The only thing that beat the quality of the meal was the service! Our server (Chelsea) was so helpful, fun, and great! On a busy Sunday afternoon she was on top of it. The prices were very fair for what you get and while a little more than many places it was on par for the quality of food that you get. The entire experience was so great and we are looking forward to coming back for dinner or brunch again. Would highly recommend!
Brandy was absolutely amazing! It was a beautiful day so my cousin and I enjoyed the patio tables. They were accommodating with us bringing a dog. Everyone who worked there was very pleasant. I was happy to eat there and will be telling my friends.
This place was great
The outside is beautiful you can tell they are thinking of ways to make it pleasing to the eye.
Food was great really really tasty! The waiter was top notch. Food was a tad slow but well worth the wait.
I’ll be back and heavily recommend this spot in okc.
Oh my God so good. The atmosphere is so eclectic and fun! And honestly the brunch was delightful. Polite, fast staff and delicious food. 10/10 would do again
Best dining experience I’ve had in a long time. Great service at the bar and at our table, above and beyond from both the bartender and our waiter. Also, the food was delicious. Thank you!
My boyfriend brought me here for the first time and I absolutely loved it! The food was DELICIOUS down to the dessert. The staff was EXCELLENT. They were very accommodating and knowledgeable about the menu items. I can't wait to return.
EXCEPTIONAL establishment! Cheever’s is a true OKC gem. The food, service, drinks, and hospitality are all top-notch. I always enjoy visiting Cheever’s, whether for a celebration or evening out. Our family’s last meal with my grandfather before he passed away was at Cheever’s. We had a wonderful time, and I am happy to say that my grandpa really enjoyed his meal and evening at Cheever’s. One of the servers even took a photograph of our family, none of us knowing it would be our last time together. Thank you, Cheever’s. You are truly the best!
This place is fantastic. It has a very cozy atmosphere and everything I have tried has been delicious. The shrimp and grits are to die for. I didn't even think I liked grits until I tried these. The filet is phenomenal and they have great seasonal cocktails. The waitstaff is also always really pleasant and efficient. Don't rush yourself here. Take your time and enjoy the dining experience.
Cozy and elegant. Amazing wait staff. Most importantly, the food is always excellent. The cauliflower bread pudding was one of the best things I've eaten in a long time. Parking can be a bit of a hassle here, but it's manageable.
Yesss on every level! Cinnamon roll is definitely not an appetizer; don’t let them fool you. It’s BIG, fresh, hot, and delicious. Tried the Chicken strudel - good choice! THANK YOU Rebecca for your superb service and Danny C. (GM) for recreating my experience! 😉 …
I went with a friend for my first experience here and was not disappointed.the environment is an old flower shop where the cooler is now where they keep the wind chilled. The service began as soon as we walked in the door and was top-notch.single votive candle it was white tablecloths with roses and a votive candle on every table. The menu was eclectic with appetizers like fried spinach, highly recommend, and chopped salads and other salads of all kinds. we saw the blue cheese potato chips served at another table and are determined to order it at our nextvisit. It was an extremely large portion and I asked the people who ordered it and they said it was a must-try. There was something on the menu for everybody and it was cooked to perfection.the environment was musical but low-key and voices were quiet at the tables with mostly couples or foursomes.if you can come before 5:30 in the evening you will have the best chance of getting a good table with a reservation. Highly recommend. Be careful of where you park, it is highly restricted by other businesses.
We drove an hour and a half to OKC to come to this restaurant, specifically for my birthday. The decision was made based off the reviews. The service was really good (loved our waitress), the drinks were amazing, the appetizers were okay, however the 3-star rating unfortunately goes to the main meal. I got the most expensive dish, at almost $30, and was so let down. I am not a food connoisseur, however all four of the party members I was with agreed that the dishes we ordered were NOT worth the price we were paying for. I tried making myself like the dish, then I embarrassingly told our waitress that I just couldn't keep eating it. She offered to bring a second dish (the one I originally wanted and she mentioned wasn't one of her favorites), and sadly I ended up seeing why she didn't recommend this dish. She did come by to check to see how I liked it, and I lied to not have her send back a second dish. Luckily because of the complementary bread and appetizers, I was able to be full.
Overall rating by all of us- this is a good place for drinks and appetizers, NOT dinner.
Everything was excellent but then prices was High! I will definitely go again.
Very nice! Had the Cowgirl Benedict. Breakfest Burritos are huge and walked out with two huge cinnamon rolls. Yummy!
Always great service, fresh food and good music. Their menu is different than what you typically find in the metro area, chicken fried steak with jalapeno gravy for example. They have amazing dessert options if you're in the mood for something sweet. The bar is well rounded with great specialty drinks and a good selection of craft/local beers available. Brunch is served on the weekends and well worth the trip. Overall an excellent experience and would definitely recommend for date night.
Stopped in with our Leadership group and had lunch. Parking is tight so be prepared to park a distance away from the restaurant and walk...but the food is worth it! I had the bacon wrapped shrimp with grits and it was a gastro-delight. Check out their menu online before you go, there's many traditional items served in a non-traditional ways that will intrigue the adventurous diner. Service was spot on and timely. I will return over and over to try the many things on the menu. Thanks for the great experience!
We are traveling through on our annual trip to AZ from the Midwest. We love stopping at Cheever’s. They have a wonderful menu and the food is changing all the time. I had the ribeye and my friend had the yellow tail. Steak was tender and delicious. Our waiter was Craig and he was understanding of our Dietary needs and has a wonderful personality. Love this place!!
Brought my family in to celebrate our son’s graduation. First time at Cheevers, but it came highly recommended by a number of coworkers. The wait staff was very friendly and efficient. The food did not disappoint, and everyone really enjoyed their meal. The atmosphere was conducive to conversation, and was relaxing. Enjoyed the total experience and the price point was very reasonable.
Loved it! Waiter was the BEST. Hate im horrible with names as he deserves a mention. Food was excellent.
This was our annual birthday dinner for my sister's 47th Year of Wisdom....Their food is soooo good, we ordered 3 Chicken Fried Steak/Chicken dinners, like every year....Best food & dinner dishes ever, then the ice cream ball is the best dessert in the city....Great job Jennifer on your service & helpfulness....See ya next time!!!!
I got the chicken enchiladas and i was not disappointed! Great service and the bread is sooooo yummy.
Service, food and alfresco dining all wonderful. Waiter was very nice but not intrusive. I had the breakfast burrito which is new to the menu and it was really good. Overall a great experience. Prices are very reasonable and food is always great which is why it's always been on my short list of favorites.
Great for a dinner date or for a group get-together. It's busy and there are always a lot of people, but it's still comfy and enjoyable. Staff is excellent.
Food is delish...Try an appetizer... we did the strudel and shrimp and grits as appetizers. Everyone was pleased.
The steaks and chicken fried steak are great choices.
Of course you cant leave without dessert. I usually prefer chocolate cake, but their carrot cake is my favorite.
Food was excellent. Chicken Fried Steak was delicious. Potato chips (not sure that is what they were called) were really good. Our server Brandy was attentive and handled a 7 guest table efficiently. Had not been there in years.....overall great. Wednesday evening and it was full. Only complaint was ac had trouble keeping up.
An amazing place to grab dinner! The chicken fried steak is the best in town and it's that jalapeno gravy that makes it stand out. If you order it, it's a huge portion, so come hungry! Other favorite is the casarecce dish. They've also got a great private room for events.
I cannot wait to go back. I was not feeling well when I was in town for the night and just wanted a cup of soup so I googled it and found Cheever's. The menu looks outstanding. Bartenders were super nice and the soup of the day...a smoky chicken soup was amazing! I can't wait to go back and try the cauliflower bread pudding....sounds super amazing!
Cheevers offers upscale American food and a great place to go for date night. The service is friendly and the food is great. Make reservations, though, because we barely got in on a Thursday night.
I have visited several times and every time the food has been consistently amazing. Their salads are great as well as old favorites like chicken fried steak. My husband had the Campanelle and really enjoyed it, as well.
Dress business casual or nice casual clothes. They don't have a dress code, but most guests dress nicely and those that don't look out of place. The waitstaff won't notice or make a thing out of it, though.
Food and service was great. Thank you to our server, Joseph!
Great service, (table of 9) we had very attentive servers. Every person enjoyed their meal and even had some to purchase meals to go! The all-nighter is now my favorite cocktail and my bananas foster waffles were delicious! I left full and 😊. …
One of our favorite places to eat in Oklahoma City. Lovely atmosphere, wonderful, diverse menu. This is one of the Good Egg restaurants and that group has done a great job reopening their restaurants safely. We love the quinoa avocado salad, they have great burgers, and we can rarely resist getting the blue cheese potato chips. For dessert the spiced pecan ice cream ball with chocolate is to die for.
Split the chicken strudel & then had shrimp & grits while my Husband had chicken fried steak. Everything was wonderful. Great staff & awesome food. I have leftovers as we saved room for the chocolate pecan ice cream ball for desert. The dinner was fabulous.
We enjoyed brunch today. The chicken fried steak with jalapeño gravy is always great and my wife's cowgirl Benedict looked very good. The mimosas weren't bad either. The service was outstanding and atmosphere is very inviting. Traveling from Edmond we arrived 15 minutes before opening but they let us in for coffee.
The food is always expertly prepared and presented and service is impeccable. The roasted chicken and pepper jack strudel appetizer is delightful. My group tried several of the salads including the cowboy rubbed salmon and the shaved Brussels sprouts and kale and “yum, yum, yum” was the chorus. Pass around the roasted pecan ice cream ball to complement the meal.
Cozy comfortable environment for a memorable brunch, lunch and more. Trendy place seemly always busy offering professional service at your table. A no cost birthday dessert is offered you do not want to miss. Food options are good, elegant and delicious. The salmon salad is exquisite and a must to try. As a matter of fact, I have not ordered anything I do not recommend including the chicken fry with jalapeno gravy. Another popular item is chicken and waffles. Unusual and savory.
Great food! Great service! Great time! I went here on my birthday an hour before close and they served us graciously! (We had reservations!) The staff was awesome and really helped us make good decisions on our food choices! Highly recommend this place! Definitely will return!
I didn't get to sit down and eat... but I did do take out, and got a roasted chicken strudel...and it was to die for!!! I can't wait until I can dine in
Atmosphere was casual yet elegant. Service was great. Food was delicious. Pan seared salmon was a good portion. Chicken fried tenders was delicious. Great experience for a couple of folks from out of town.
food with a Southwest flair restaurant, at one time it was a home and then a florist shop. The flower cooler is now the wine cooler and this place is incredible, filled with happy customers great food and drinks and a staff of professionals to help you enjoy a special meal. Yesterday we ate at another restaurant that is also owned by the same couple who own Cheever's, we were referred to Cheever's and we are grateful we were. I had a Cheever's Bloody Mary and my wife had a Cheever's punch and they were both great. They served some warm dinner rolls with rosemary and a compound butter for us to snack on. We both ordered the Cheever's chicken fried steak with jalapeño gravy and potatoes, they were so tasty. I asked for extra gravy and I used it all up, this was not your traditional chicken fried steak it was done so perfectly with a nice breading and cooked to perfection and this gravy just made it. We both had desert and I went for the Cheever's Giant Carrot cake and I took home 2/3 of it and my wife got the caramel pecan ice cream and we finished that for sure. Nicely decorated and spotlessly clean. If you want a nice romantic, classy place with great atmosphere, warm service, superb food and in an quaint building Cheever's is the place.
Love this place. Ordered chicken fried steak, big enough for 2 ppl to share. I ordered a side of their cheesy grits just to see what they taste like..I loved it! We will definitely be back
This place is amazing. The portions are huge and the food is top notch and of the upmost quality. Eddie was our server and was great!
Everytime we come to OKC, we always eat at Cheever's...this trip we ate there 2 times in 5 days..Max and Joey were our servers each time and all I can say is, "WOW!" He is exceptional, as well as the food! Always enjoy eating there...the BEST restaurant in OKC!!!! Can't wait to come back!!!
Easily one of my favorite meals. Growing up in OKC, this hidden gem was never visited. However, on a recent trip back with my wife, we had a wonderful date night with delicious food. This small local spot ranks above some of the higher-end restaurants in DFW!!
Best restaurant in central Oklahoma, by a lot! Amazing comfort food at very reasonable prices. I have literally never had a bad dish, only less good ones when compared others. Chicken Fried Steak with jalapeno gravy is heavenly. Brunch on Sat/Sun is a must!!
The chicken fried steak was phenomenal. The ribeye was perfect ..all sides were super great. Thank you, Max, you were such a great server. Thanks for your recommendations and being a super cool person! Ask for Max. He's awesome .
Jackie was out waitress and was fantastic! We had halibut and redfish... Superb. It happened to be our 1st anniversary and Cheever's treated us to lovely Chocolate Pecan Ice Cream deliciousness. This place is divine, a must try!
Cute place! I liked the converted flower fridge that is now being used as wine storage. Had a bowl of the chicken tortilla soup which was perfect for the fall evening. Corbin was our super friendly and helpful server!
Outstanding food, a great bar and great service. The Special when we went last week was the fried cod sandwich. Delicious! Highly recommend!
The Molasses Roast Chicken Breasts were superb followed by gigantic and delicious carrot cake. Superb dinner place
We walked in and I gave the hostess my name and she sat is immediately this is after she took our temperature's. This is the first restuarant that I have been to that has done that I was shocked but I was not mad I appreciated that a lot thank you for looking out for my health while I feed my face. Patrick was our waiter we were celebrating my dad 64th birthday. I asked him what drink should I get and he offered two but I usually don't drink dark liquor so I decided to go with the bandit and that was an excellent choice. It was so supremely tasty it has bourbon, whiskey I think lemon and honey and a huge ice cube. My dad got a plain drink grand marnier on the rocks.
For dinner he got the special and I was so upset that they only had one because his sounded so mouthwatering that i couldn't wait to hear another one. It was salmon with butter beans with jalapenos mixed with something but it looked appetizing. So i went with the blackfish with garlic red-skinned mashed potatoes(I may have added something) anyway they were great. I also had an arugula salad with cucumbers, tomatoes, cheese with a maple vinaigrette. For dessert of course we had the most delectable chocolate cake this is the reason I go there this cake keeps.calling my name year after year. I wonder how many cakes they go through a week because these pieces are AMAZING. Patrick was great and also the rest of the staff because we had a slew of people because the staff worked together. Also they don't clean their tables like most restaurants they have tablecloths and they change them after every person leaves.
Small restaurant that was packed on a Monday evening and for good reason. The food and service was excellent. Their wine, beer, and cocktail list was small but manageable and a good selection of a variety of good, tasty beverages. I can't sing the praise of their filet enough. My rare steak might have come out a little on the blue side but wow: it was tender and delicious and the perfect size. I will return next time I'm in OKC, and will be certain to call ahead.
I got one of their chicken and waffle specials for brunch. It was amazing, one of my favorite place to go!
Decent place but a bit pricey. Should be more of a $$$ place. The food was good. Me and my friend got the chicken fried steak and for the quality / amount we got, we felt we might have been better off elsewhere. Might be great for some people but wasn't the best for us. (Quick idea, $19 for the Chicken Fried Steak with most items around $30+)
Plus atmosphere felt kind of cramped. A couple getting up from their table will stop all wait staff traffic.
We didn't have a reservation but they set us anyway, we had an awesome waiter named Elliot. Funky twists on southern and southwestern favorites. The chicken pepper jack strudel was fun and different, the chicken fried steak was delicious and the ice cream ball was to die for.
Really good as always.. fish special was not up to par for once however. Still a top spot in OKC.
Food was great, service was... lacking. 6 waitresses standing around loudly gossiping, no one even attempting to seat me or take my order. I finally sat at the bar but it was quite some time before anyone ever came to see me. Also, it was empty so none of the wait staff had anything to do and it felt like they were just watching me eat, which was VERY uncomfortable. Ben the bartender was quite possibly the only saving grace for the service. He was great. Good food, waaaaayy too expensive wine list, probably would not go back.
Good brunch, however, I was not blown away at all.
The food was good, the drinks were good (the mimosa was great!) but there may be some room for improvement in terms of service. The hostess wasn't rude but she wasn't nice either. It took a bit too long to get our drinks (plus they didn't even come at the same time) and way too long to get the food.....we got there at 10 am, right after they opened so it wasn't even busy, yet it took good 35 mins to get the food.
On the bright side, the cinnamon roll is delicious! And there's free parking on the premises.
I can't say it was a bad experience, but I won't go back when in OKC again.
I found this restaurant online in a "best of Oklahoma City restaurants" list. What a gem! Tasty, regional food, fabulous service ... If I get to OKC in the future, I'll return to Cheever's.
I found this place on a travel website. The site said large chicken fried steak...idk what their definition of large is but the portion was not worth the price. The potatoes were fair, chicken fry was salty and tough, gravy was on point with a perfect amount of heat. I would not go here if you are hungry or want a good chicken fried steak. The cost was $15.
Absolutely incredible food! Never had ice cream like this before in my life and I'm ready for more and can't wait to go back. The chicken fried steak was to die for!
Great staff, who really worked with me about my food allergies/sensitivities, & wonderful food! The Giant Carrot Cake was to die for! And they really meant giant! We split one piece between the 4 of us, and that was the perfect size. It was a great night.
Really liked this place. Went here for dinner on a Wednesday evening. I was there early so not very many people in the restaurant but it was busy when I left around 6pm. Had the short ribs and some shrimp and grits. Both dishes were excellent. Only issue was the service. A little slow and the server disappeared for a while.
Corn bread crusted red fish with collard greens and crunchy blackened peas❤
Chicken fried steak was great, recommended and the quill my wife had it and it was wonderful, it was her birthday and they made it special so be sure and tell them if it's your birthday or someone in your party. We'll go back there again for sure. Service was great.
I was at Cheever's on their opening night, and even though I have since moved out of the area, I try to make it back every chance I get. The food is absolutely amazing! I love the atmosphere which can be intimate or social depending on who is around you. I have never had anything there that I did not enjoy. Being a bit of a "foodie" I am constantly amazed and delighted at the new creations the maestros at Cheever's concoct. Lunch can be crowded, so I usually try to make reservations. I can imagine that seating for large parties would be tough during their busy hours unless made days in advance. Great place for business lunches or taking that special someone (if I don't take my wife regularly, she gets cranky!) I'm always recommending Cheever's to those folks visiting from out of town. Highly, highly recommended. A true "don't pass on this place" kind of place.
Our first experience dining with them and it was wonderful. Jeff was great, the food was great and the atmosphere was charming. I highly recommend you give them a try.
Had dinner here with my wife last weekend for the first time. Not knowing what to expect on a Saturday night, I totally dropped the ball and didn't make a reservation. Luckily, the host was kind enough to find us a table within 10 minutes. I really liked the atmosphere and decor of the restaurant. Its a small building, but not too small. I think its cool that they are using the old florist's cooler as the wine cooler now.
We started with the Juan's Queso Chihuahua which was fantastic! I ordered the salmon special which came with risotto, crab meet and a bacon-wrapped shrimp. My wife had the Boneless Beef Short Ribs with jalapeno au gratin potatoes. We both absolutely loved our meals. Both cooked perfectly and served within about 15 minutes. Our waiter was extremely friendly, helpful & definitely made us feel very comfortable and appreciated. He even threw in a free dessert since it was our first time there.
I wish I could give this place 6 stars. The food is always amazing, the servers are prompt and friendly, the atmosphere is modern and cozy, and the manager is perhaps the nicest person I've ever come into contact with (not only to customers, but also to his staff). I would without a doubt say this is the best restaurant in Oklahoma.
Also, they allow you to bring your dogs on the patio!!
Really yummy. Friendly attentive staff and management. Repurposing of a beloved florist's building which served mid and uptown areas of Oklahoma City and the nearby State Capitol. I usually have the chicken fried steak with jalapeño gravy, which is not too hot, just has a bit of a bite.
My husband and I popped in here for an anniversary dessert and were not disappointed! The ambience is relaxing and romantic. I see why people go here for special occasions. The old charm of the original building shines through in a lot of places which adds to the overall pleasant feeling you have when you're in there. Everything is beautiful and upscale; the attention to detail is present everywhere. It is pricey but, the food is NOT something you see coming out of a regular "run of the mill" restaurant. Speaking of, lots of chicken fried steaks coming out of that kitchen!!! They must be something special.
Very good
One of the best restaurants in OKC. Outstanding food and service. I've eaten here several times since 1997 and it has been great every time. Great place to take a date to dinner.
UPDATE: I visited in October of 2019. The food is still incredible, the service was still amazing. One of the best restaurants I've been to ANYWHERE.
My favorite aspect of Cheever's is the atmosphere; dim lit, quaint tables, unique history, fresh flowers, friendly service. The menu is not quite themed: I could identify plates that were inspired by Italian, American, and Mexican cuisine. The cocktail menu is also impressive - they had fresh and new plays ok classic cocktails.
The bartenders made our day..
Awesome people 👏
Cheever's Cafe is an excellent five star restaurant in my book. There entrees are plentiful and savory. Two thumbs up. I would reccommend this place to my friends in Florida if they ever came to visit me here in Oklahoma. Great job staff!
The chicken fried steak with jalapeño gravy might just be the finest flavor profile homage to the chicken fried steak gods. Did I mention it is incredible? It is so unfair to all the other chicken fried steaks out there. Nothing comes close. Great ambiance. Friendly staff. 11/10!
Had heard alot about this place so had to stop in the carrot cake was to die for but the service (being a former server myself) left a bit to be desired. I watched the other servers do an above all job but ours must have been having an off day she was not very friendly and she didn't seem like she wanted to be there. I can't judge because don't know what may have happened in her day or life to make her seem so detached but either way the quinoa salad was bland in my opinion felt like it was missing something. But the CFS was super tasty and the side items were good but the service and salad could have been better which is the reason for only 3 stars
We went for our 2 years anniversary and it was amazing. We definitely enjoyed our time. Shout out to Ricky for a wonderful customer service and the anniversary cake. We will be back!!! highly recommended.
Went here for dinner. Had the "queso" with chips and I've never had a dip with so many flavours all at once. It was not too heavy leaving room for the main course. My wife and I split the ribye, it was beautifully presented and cooked properly. The cut was great, the sauce paired well along with the potato. In hindsight should haved opted for a glass of red wine. Service was attentive and atmosphere allowed for a quiet conversation. One note is that the menu isn't very discript which undersells the dishes.
Cheever's was amazing! Service was outstanding. Thank you Elle. The chicken fried steak did not disappoint. Can't wait to return to try other dishes. Oh, and the carrot cake? Share it with your friends. Delish!
I don't think there are many restaurants left that serve 5/5 star quality food with 5/5 star service. Truly one of a kind. I'll be returning soon! Fast but on your time. They are always refilling drinks without asking them to. Offering to go above and beyond. The staff take their job seriously, but with kindness. It's just one of those places you go and know from then on out it's a gold star on your list of restaurants. No question on if it's good or not. The question is simply "when do you plan on returning?"
The perfect place for everything- date night, girl's night, lunch, family time, etc. Cheever's has a great, warm ambiance and a wonderful menu with many choices for all kinds of moods. I stick to the shrimp and grits myself, it's always amazing. I also love trying new cocktails through the seasons. One of the best places in OKC for a delicious, intimate meal. Make sure to reserve on open table!
Honest opinion, my roasted chicken was good but the skin could have been crisped up a bit, sauce on top was off-putting to me (cannot remember what it was made of), my fiance's pasta dish was just bland and unimpressive, her mother had the chicken fried steak which was the best dish of the three, service was good and ambiance not bad, took two carrot cake to go and it is very tasty. Overall I don't know that I would return.
I went to this place for the first time today with my mother and sister. We all got a different dish and we got salads and dessert also. The food was amazing!! We liked all of it. The staff was very nice as well. Can't wait to go there again! Food is to die for!
I’ve always been a big fan of Cheevers. I’ve eaten there all the time with my family growing up and it is still is one of my favorite restaurants. But tonight they really went above and beyond with their customer service and made me feel safe. I called in a order tonight via curbside. I showed up early but still sent them a text to let them know I was there and decided to enjoy the nice weather and keep my windows rolled down. But with okc being the eccentric city that it is... I had a man come up to my window and lean on the door to where I couldn’t roll the window up. At first I tried taking care of the situation myself but things just got worse and he started to harass me and started touching me. So I took a shot in the dark and texted their curbside number to let them know what was going on. And not only did they send someone out immediately to make him leave, but the guy was incredibly nice and came up to me to make sure I was okay and not hurt, then came right out with my food after and asked me again if I was okay. I am extremely thankful for this business and this employee and definitely will continue to be a regular here!
Was recommended by a customer when I was in town. Went without knowing I needed a reservation, but they still sat us. Food was as good as my friend said. The server ( Corbin ) represented the restaurant very well.
Went there for take out. I am not a huge fan of their parking situation on a Saturday night. I love the chocolate cake. I will order special for my wife and I when we have a no kid night. The staff is always friendly when I get there and help me right away.
I usually eat dinners at Cheevers, but have now had two business lunches there. The staff is always very attentive. I was able to get in and out in a reasonable amount of time. Their food is top notch. Try their ice cream dessert with pecans. It is amazing!
Probably the best food that I've had in OKC! I've had their brunch which was really good, I just wished the portion size was a bit larger for what I got. I also had dinner which I thought was perfect. The service could have been slightly better but for me the food makes up for it.
The chicken fried steak was absolutely delicious! Service is outstanding. Comfortable, and relaxing atmosphere. Why have I waited so long to try this place. I don't know. I highly recommend Cheever's.
This place is fantastic! Old school class and great menu. The service was perfect and food was delicious. I had a Bandit to drink (little sweet for me but good flavor) and shrimp and grits for the entree (delicious). I'll definitely go back.
This place is great. The atmosphere is on point, the service is great, and the food is out of control. Be sure to make reservations, this place is popular for a reason!
I am not quite a fan of food in Oklahoma. But Cheevers has really good dishes. Vegan and vegetarian options are awesome!
A generational cornerstone of high-end comfort food!
Rich and delicious meals in an elegantly designed nook on the corner of 23rd and Walker. The food is always incredible and the service is always top notch. This is a great place to bring friends, family and out-of-towners. Perfect for celebrating something special, or just because!
they have a. small parking lot but it is not that bad to take an Uber here from downtown.
Amazing ambiance, this is one of the most beautifully decorated places I have ever seen, outside had beautiful lights on the trees and then inside the place has a beautiful classy decor as well.
The romantic atmosphere is unbeatable. so sexy and romantic at the same time with some great ambiance music and dimmed lights.
There is parking here as wel so date night is so on!
They have a wine cellar and 2 ambiance sitting rooms. in that cellar they also have their flowers and little plants being home grown.
No reservation? No problem! I love the fact that even with no reservation they made it work.
COMPLEMENTARY BREAD BASQUET- I respect! Specially when the bread is so nice and warm and the butter is on a perfect temperature to just slide the knife in effortlessly. I love that the waitress offered more bread and we didnt have yo ask for it.
TEMPEST- there's a botanic quality to the taste of this cocktail, I was intrigued and excited at every sip. It was a fun drink to experience
JESUS QUESO CHIUAUA- a little sweeter than we hoped, it comes with refried beans, tomatillo sauce, avocados and picco in there. A dude of chips and the stringiness of the cheesy is very impressive. I am though a little mixed about my feelings about it in the end of the day, the consistency of the cheese was a bit annoying as it was hard to land it on the chip and all. But overall it was a good to share appetizer.
SHRIMP AND GRITS- the grits is grainy but at the same time creamy, the sauce is some butter but it has been mixed with the bacon juices of the bacon around the shrimp, there is a hint of sweet but a lot of savory happening, there is also a spicy after taste that comes with every bite, every single past of this plate ties to something present there as the sauce I just described. I was pleasantly surprised, the chef rocks. This is an obra prima!
Our waitress was amazing, Erica was a very carrying and friendly waitress. We were super well taken care of.
definitely recommend this place a billion times over.
My first time to Cheevers but this is one of my daughters favorites. Food was exceptional and service might have been even better than the food. If you're looking for a brunch menu different and out of the ordinary and made with love this is the place!
Nice American South Western fare. Great place for a date night, small quaint old florist store that has been turned into a resteraunt. They have a great Chicken Fried Steak and a great Burger.
My husband and I went to Cheever's for our anniversary. I had the molasses roast chicken and it was very tender and tasty. My husband had the blackened redfish and it also was cooked to perfection. The atmosphere was perfect for a romantic anniversary dinner and the service was excellent.
Long time staple of great dining in OKC. We finally made it here for brunch and left overall impressed. The service was great from the time we arrived until we left. Brunch drink menu is pretty great and the All Nighter with coffee infused bourbon is one I'd highly recommend.
I had the Green Chile Pork Stack and would probably not have this again. The flavors were a bit bland for me as I usually expect more spice if the word chile is in the title. My dining companion had the Cowgirl Benedict and it was amazing. I'll be getting this on my next trip. So many flavors and the presentation was amazing.
Consistently terrific service and absolutely marvelous food.
Reasonable prices -- usually under forty dollars a person (barring lots of libations, anyway).
Brunch here is ALWAYS good.
Great ambience.
Limited parking.
Be sure to reserve a table for most evenings and weekends.
Quaint little spot putting out very flavorful dishes! Best chicken tortilla soup and carbonara Ive ever had! Highly recommend this place.
This place ruined brunch for us. It is so good that we can never eat brunch and expect the same experience again. My boyfriend got the Cowgirl benedict and was taken aback by its quality. I got their special which was a blueberry coffee cake with a side of bacon and eggs. Their mimosas are huge.
If you are looking for good brunch, stop. You found the place.
The food was delicious. The prices were reasonable for the amount of food you receive. The staff was amazing and were always checking on us which was a plus. I really love the atmosphere of the restaurant and made for a romantic evening with my wife.
I have a love hate relationship with cheevers due to it's inconsistency. Sometimes the food is amazing and the service is top notch, other times both the food and service are less than desirable. I feel like the brunch service is hands down the worst meal - worst service and for lack luster food, while lunch tends to be the best for both quality and service. Dinner is hit or miss. But Cheever's is a winner for lunch.
Every time my husband and I go out for a nice dinner we have to TRY to go somewhere other than Cheevers. The waitstaff is always so nice and the food is always amazing. Go on your birthday and you'll get a free dessert!
Yummy food. No doubt about that. Will go back every time because the food is always delicious however, was slightly dissapointed that my request of a frozen strawberry Patron margarita could not be met but the Mockingbird cocktail was scrumptious!!
This was such a great dining experience! It's a quaint little restaurant. Mom and I stopped in for lunch. The service was friendly and fresh food absolutely delicious. Highly recommend.
The positive aspects to cheever's cafe is the elegant room, fine dining experience, lively waitress and a unique experience.
However, the food was severely disappointing and overall underwhelming. The cinnamon roll's icing was smoothe and actually very decadent, but the cinnamon roll itself was very dry throughout. The texture was very stale and could be compared to a store bought cinnamon roll.
The massa vallo con huevos was another unnecessary dish lacking balance and comfort with random spinach and pico on the side. The overall texture was gritty and half the time I had no idea what I was tasting. The sauce may have been good, but overshadowed by the massa flour and rice like bits. It felt like they were trying to be unique and put random ingredients together.
The French toast bread pudding was another dish that failed to shine and we had most of it thrown away. Don't be surprised if you feel like all you can taste is a dry loaf of bread with the only flavor coming from the top of the meal.
Also, please look into getting a nutritional page for your menu. It is very important to know what you're eating especially since a lot of your food is eaten early on in the day.
Overall, the service was great, but the food was lackluster.
