Hands down the best/authentic Indian food I’ve had in the States. Both me and my friends have been to India, so trust us! You have to try the curries. Service was above and beyond. They also take credit card (instead of cash only), very convenient. We will definitely come back to try more dishes.

Really good food with excellent service! The spices were well balanced and flavorful. Probably the best Indian restaurant food we've had in a real long time. Highly recommended.
Perry Tiu
Amazing food it was spicy for me (in a good way). Our service was excellent. Sameer our waiter was so kind and friendly. He made sure we had a great experience and kept checking up on us if we needed anything. The restaurant was a cute little Indian spot. Would recommend to going to this spot.
Katie Rochford
The food did not disappoint! Must order the lamb chops to start and the veggie briyana. The service was so great and our waiter had the best recommendations. This is a must visit spot - worth the trip to Jackson Heights! Definitely coming back soon.

Any time I land at Laguardia Airport now (which is often because of my job), I come straight here for dinner-- only 25 minute bus ride. The food, exquisite. The staff, so kind! I'm a vegetarian, and this place will have you happily ordering 4 different things on the menu. The quality is there, and you have so much to take home with you. I love this place so much. <3

First time eating here and I have to say that the food was very tasty. I just didn’t like that there were a ground of staff just standing around the corner and staring. Since it is a tiny restaurant, the environment became awkward at that time. The place was a bit cold and that was due to the door being open a lot. Other than that the food was great and I would recommend anyone in the area to Check this place out.

Very delicious and authentic Indian food. You can tell these people cook from the soul and use fresh ingredients. I highly recommend this place to anyone whether you like or aren’t as passionate about Indian food, you will have a good experience.

Wow! We were blown away by the amazing food and service here! We ordered the pani puri, samosa chat, garlic naan, the chicken dum biryani and goat dum biryani. Everything was delicious and came out pretty fast too. All of the servers were so friendly and helpful and actually seemed happy, which I find is rare lol. It’s BYOB as well, which was nice - we brought a bottle of wine with us. We’re so excited to come back and bring our friends and family in the near future! This place is a gem. Very happy with our first visit here and we would highly recommend anyone who loves Indian food to try it out.

We came to this restaurant seeing great reviews and we were not disappointed at all!! My husband has been craving for authentic Indian food and he got his fix at Angel!! He was very pleased and so was I :). We will come back everytime we visit NYC! Thank you for amazing food and service.

This is my new favorite restaurant. The dum biryani was the best I’ve ever had, and I loved trying the cauliflower appetizer as well. They make their paneer in house and it’s spot on perfect. Special thanks to Sam and Tim for the warm welcome! Can’t wait to be back.

My friends and I dined in here. I had Indian food in many places in NYC and I can truly say that this place has the best Indian food I’ve had. The service was amazing, everything was well priced, and great portion size. All the food we tried were tasty. We had Kale pakora, paneer tikka, Dum goat biryani, and Lal maas (spicy but delicious). I highly recommend this place!
Amit Patankar
The most authentic and delicious Indian food I’ve had outside of India! Took my friends who all enjoyed it! Definitely order the chicken dum biryani and lotus root kofta! For appetizers the dahi wada was excellent too! The first bite of the chole bhatura made me miss my mom’s cooking! Highly recommend this place and I’ll be back!

We wanted to find the best Indian food in the area, and we decided to give this place a try based on the online reviews and word of mouth. This place did not disappoint!
First off, the service is top tier- excellent. We wanted to eat outside because we were eating with my immunocompromised mother-in-law and they were wonderful and allowed us to move the table outside on the sidewalk! They have an outdoor seating but it is somewhat enclosed, so this was safer for her to eat. They were so gracious for the accommodations. We spoke with the manager who was Punjabi, and he was so nice!
Second off, the food was out of this world 11/10. If you take your family (Indian or non-Indian) to one authentic Indian place in Jackson Heights, take them here! It won’t disappoint.
We started with the Paneer Tikka dish pictured below and it was by far the best paneer I have ever had (besides mother-in-law’s of course). It was fresh, tender, and cooked to perfection with perfect flavors. Our next dishes were the channa masala, saag paneer, veggie biryani (with paneer and gobi aka cauliflower), and a side of dahi. There was nothing wrong with these dishes. If I were the judge on Top Chef, I would award this chef the top reward. Just take a look at all the pictures. Seasoned and cooked to perfection. You can recommend spice level by the way in case you have a group with differing spice tolerance. The best was maybe the biryani which is made in a clay pot covered by naan. They then present it in front of you and cut the naan open to reveal the beautiful biryani inside.
If you had to order highlight dishes, I recommend - paneer tikka appetizer, and the veggie biryani. However, I would say all these dishes are so good! I don’t even normally order biryani at restaurants, but this was one 10/10.
I would say overall, this was an excellent experience at this restaurant. It is named after the chef’s daughter and he puts all his energy into this restaurant. I thought that was an incredible story. I highly recommend for all the reasons above! Please go here and support an excellent local restaurant and staple of Jackson Heights!

Mamun our server had great energy, highly attentive and helpful. The food came out quickly. We ordered the chicken Tikka, lamb vindaloo, spicy black lentils, garlic naan and the chef special goat biriyani. The chicken came out in a sizzling platter and I definitely ate one before I even took a picture. Everything was very flavorful and spiced well. Highly Recommend if you're in the mood for tasty north Indian food.
Steve Meyer
Absolutely delicious and fresh food. Had the chicken briyani and it was the best I've ever had. Can't wait to go back to show others!
Julia Lorenz-Olson
This place is hands down the most incredible Indian food I have ever had. Can’t wait to come back on another trip to NYC. The prices are amazing to boot. Mamun was an incredible server!!
Brandon Nadeau
Actually spicy for a change. This place is the real deal, one of the best Indian meals I’ve ever had. Can’t wait to come back and try something else
I had Samosa and Murgh Makhani (a delicious chicken dish).
Returned to try more of their delicious food. On my second visit I had Chicken Madras which contains Chicken, Onion, Clores, Tumeric, and Tomatoes, Dahi Batata Puri which contains Potatoes, Tamarind, mint chutney, and yogurt, and garlic naan. Everything was delicious, will definitely be returning to try other new items.
Javier Kohen
Fast and friendly service, they really take care of you. The food is quite good, and the portions and price are very reasonable. It has a hole in the wall atmosphere and the music can get loud.
VICTORIA DEEZ
Overall, PHENOMENAL!! By far the best Indian food I have ever had . 100% recommend ! The Lamb Rogan Josh was cooked to perfection ! Was not disappointed with a single thing we ordered ! Adnan was our server ! He was super attentive and very nice ! Will definitely be returning !!

*They put bottled water on your table as soon as you are seated, however, that water is NOT FREE! Ask for tap water if you do not want to be tricked and charged extra!
My friend and I decided to check out Angel around 4pm on a Sunday per a friend's high recommendation and the phenomenal reviews. The restaurant is on the smaller side. Inside, they can seat 5-7 small parties and they have an outdoor dining area as well. There is a lot of people going in and out so the ambiance is a bit chaotic and cramped (it's no frills), and the heat in the restaurant was rough for a summer afternoon.
My friend ordered the keema pav ($9.99) and the goat dum biryani ($19.99). I ordered the chicken saag ($14.99). My friend said that the keema pav was quite spicy but had nice flavors and delicious bread. The presentation of the biryani was unique, and the goat was tender and spicy. This dish did need to accompanying yogurt sauce to balance out the spice and heat! The rice in the biryani was also aromatic. Regarding the saag, it was surprisingly interesting. The only way I can describe it is it was like spinach floating around in tomato sauce, which I had never had before. However, I actually thought the flavors worked, and the chicken was juicy and moist. While I do prefer the straight-up spinach type saag, I cannot deny that this did taste good. Like the other dishes, there was a bit of heat. The restaurant did not allow me to substitute rice for naan, but I was not too sad about it because the garlic naan we ordered ($3) was flat, tough, and charred.
I'm not going to lie that the bottled water trick really put me off to Angel. Service was okay in terms of politeness, but we had to ask for everything, especially water refills. If it wasn't so hot in the restaurant, maybe this would not have been so big a deal, but the heat from the food but the actual heat in the restaurant makes me want water! Despite this, I assume they have been around for a while because they do deliver on flavor, and the prices are competitive with the area. I would say that I would come back for takeout or dining in in the cooler months.

Amazing service and great food. Everything we got was delicious. My favorites are the chicken biryani, butter chicken and the tandoor chicken. Finish it off with a mango lassi and nibble on some garlic naan!
Seo Kim
Amazing food. The garlic naan was super garlicky. The masala chicken was tender and juicy. I love the heavy spices on the chicken. The service was great too.
Kati Lee
I found this place on YouTube. I can’t believe I haven’t visited this place until today! The service was amazing and the food is exquisite.
You can taste all of the ingredients and herbs — every flavor is ALIVE. The chefs and owner certainly have a passion for introducing Indian cuisines to so many different palates.
I am a rice person — I eat it almost every day. Even their plain basmati rice was delicious, and had a very faint and pleasant aftertaste of herbs. It was soooo good.
I got their goat biryani and my partner got a delicious chicken dish (forgot the name). Their garlic naan is so soft and fluffy.
I definitely recommend this place!

Angel Indian is one of our favorite restaurants! We go often with our family and friends, and the food and service blows us away each time. There are so many delicious dishes to select from: the Kale Pakoda and Samosa Chat make for an excellent beginning appetizer, one that is a harmony of different flavors and textures like crunchy, salty, tangy, and sweet. Other appetizers we recommend include any of the sizzling meats like Lamb Chops, Seekh Kebab, and Chooza Tikka. For the entrees, you can’t go wrong with any of the dishes. The Chicken Bhuna has the most delicious gravy of tomatoes, onions, and spices. The Fish Moilee is delicately spiced and luscious from the coconut milk for a creamier touch. If you’re looking for a truly unique experience, the biryanis are a great choice because the presentation is rare to find in the city. The dish comes in a steamy pot that has naan bread baked over it. The server pops open the bread, allowing the steam from the rice to escape. The biryani is incredibly seasoned, each grain of rice is delicately separated, and every bite is perfection. We want to shout out to Samir, a very attentive and kind server. We hope you make your way to Angel Indian. Extra points for having vegetarian and vegan-friendly options. The food is also halal! Truly one of the best restaurants in both the city and vibrant neighborhood of Jackson Heights.
Na Ta
Authentic Indian food in a casual place. The restaurant is small and limited in number of tables, hence reservations are necessary.
Samosas and naan were the best part of the meal.

Today we discovered a new gem for foodies. Angel is a small restaurant, but the food here is absolutely amazing. We started with Lasuni Gobi (Garlicky Cauliflower) and Dahi batata puri as appetizers. For our entrees we ordered Fry Bheja, Chicken Makhani, Laal Maas, Chole Bature, Goat Dum Biryani accompanied by Garlic Naan and Tandoori roti. Every dish was meticulously prepared and had the taste of home cooked meal. The Biryani was off the charts good. Service was friendly and efficient. Masala chai was an appropriate ending to this decadent meal.

Wow! This North Indian restaurant is probably the best in the city. I waited an hr because of reservations and was glad I did surprisingly. Our server Sam was very on top of serving us and quite hospitable. My wife and I had garlic nan, lassuni gobi, paneer khurchan, and goat dum biryani. All were the best I’ve had and I grew up eating Jackson heights at friends houses and restaurants. Will be returning regularly.

I was skeptical at first because of the name, but went here for the first time with a friend and we absolutely LOVED the food and the service. My friend is from India and we had other guests sitting next to us saying that the food was truly authentic, so really happy we've been there and will highly recommend others to go.

A must try! I have been to Indian and this place took me right back there! Food is absolutely amazing and staff are so kind and wonderful, will definitely be back!

We are so happy that we ate at Angel. Appropriate name because the food was heavenly. The place is small but they have outdoor seating as well. Reservation is recommended as it can easily get packed but the wait is worth it.
Servers [Sanju] was very helpful with the questions about the food and drinks that we had, he was friendly and professional.
We will be coming back to try their other dishes.
We loved the adraki lamp chops for appetizer, goat biryani and lamb Rogan. Dessert we had kheer.
Hui Shan Yin
Great indian food in a casual setting. Got seating immediately on a Sunday afternoon. The food came out fast. Food was delicious.

The best Indian food we’ve ever had. Worth the train ride from upper Manhattan. Very attentive, kind service. We ordered Saag Paneer,
Pani puri, Murgh Makhani, and a side of garlic naan (a must order). Everything was superb. The paneer was miles above paneers served in Manhattan restaurants. Finished with a warm bowl of Gulab Jamun and Kheer. So good!
Bhagirath Bhardwaj
I’m pleased to have had a wonderful experience at Angel’s. Not only was the food reminiscent of home, it felt even better with the service and attention paid to a single diner in a busy restaurant. Highly recommend for authentic Indian dishes. They deserve all the praises they receive.
Murgh Makhni was flavorful and appropriately spiced. Would recommend to ask for chef’s suggestions when visiting.
John Gonzalez
Best Indian Food in Queens! 10/10, Chicken vindaloo and The Cheese Nan it’s my recommendation, the mango lassy, the rice is included with the mains, and the attention of Azan was amazing!
Beth Bucher
I am actually delaying eating our leftovers to write this review because it is THAT important that you go eat there immediately. It was, without hyperbole, the best Indian food we've ever eaten. The pani puri is more than just cute and fun; it is a complex taste and texture party in your mouth. Delicious. The vegetable dum biryani is as dramatic an unveiling as the photos make it out to be, and it's incredibly well done. The cheese is the lightest and fluffiest I've ever tasted. (Why can't they all be like this???) And everything else you see on the Tetris-like tabletop pictured here was equally as fantastic. Bon appetite!
PS- To our server: I tried to post the video and they won't let me here. Boo! :( Thank you, again, for a wonderful experience.

Ok 30 minutes of waiting was worth it. I went with my parents. I have never tried Indian food before, and I fell in love with it :) Get a Biryani you won’t regret it. The waiter was very nice also. Overall, more than love!
Abhinav Modugula
By far the best Indian restaurant I’ve been to. On par with famous Hyderabad biryani.
Shout out to sameer for great service. Do not sit outside when it’s hot however it’s actually a greenhouse.

Authentic Indian food that I ate. The food was excellent. The people also was so nice and friendly. For sure, i will coming back again because i want try another food menu that looks so temptation too. Highly recommended for this place.

If you are in the mood for Indian food in NYC, I strongly recommend this place. Good authentic Indian food with nice spice and a varied menu.
The price was good considering the restaurant is featured in The Michelin Guide. We got one appetizer (paneer), garlic Naan, one of the specials which was rice, chicken and spice, covered in a Naan, as well as the Mango Lassi and The Punjabi Lassi. All of this was 44 dollars (without tip) so great value for NYC.
All the food was amazing but I do recommend that you share a dish since it is a lot of food. Even though we only had an appetizer and a main course we couldn’t finish it all and we weren’t hungry for the rest of the day. So definitely consider sharing a plate.
Our servers Tim and Sam were very nice. Sam was more serious and professional and Tim was the entertainer who provided us with song and dance during our meal. It was a great experience and we highly recommend this restaurant.
dbanda23
Extremely pleasant and authentic Indian food! Even better than the food is the lovely people who work here!
I’ve been here a few times and they always hit the mark! Will continue to come back in the future!
Katlyn Chan
An overall 9/10 for helpful and attentive service. It is very busy here as in 3-4 waiters walking back and forth in a small room so not the most private.
•Chooza Tikka 9/10 (I loved the flavor especially with the seared onions and veggies but it was slightly on the drier side)
• Murgh Makhani 8.5/10 (basically the butter chicken; the chicken was dark meat so it was super tender; the sauce had a little bit more of a tomato flavor than I usually like it)
• Chicken dum biryani 8/10 (loved the idea with naan wrapped on top; flavor is standard; lots of toppings that added a good texture)
•Gulab jamun 9/10 ( not shown in video; to my surprise, served hot; could not go wrong with fried dough and syrup)
Mysore Creative Writings
This restaurant is in Jackson heights and one of the best Indian restaurant in city.
Though, the seating area is sooo small and tight, the food is amazing….
Especially Gulub jamun, oh my gawddd, thats out of the world…
Biryani is good, north indian style but its blended well with all spices….
Try this restaurant and most recommended…
1 star less because of the ambience and tight seating….
Seemzehra Zaidi
My favorite was the goat bhuna the meat was so tender and delicious esp when paired with the butter naan.
Rudra and Praneet went above and beyond to make sure we had great service.
The only downside here is the wait but when the food is this good the wait is a secondary issue that is the only reason I’m giving this place 4 stars otherwise 5 stars all the way!
Amazing food and good people will deff be coming back here to try other things on the menu :)
Jessica Schnell
Small cozy atmosphere. Best dish was the chicken entree. Loved my masala chai. Good homemade paneer.

Angel is an indian restaurant in the Queens - New York. We have tryed its cousine ordering one dish of Dal Makhni, onother of Murgh Makhani together with a portion of Butter Naan. The food in the complex was ok. We received a nice surprise with an additional small apetizer with crunchy bread and waiters were nice. Unfortunately we didn't enjoy our fresh lime soda since it was too sweet and missed of natural taste. In the complex we enjoy the dinner
Grace Dai
the food here was very good, we ordered the lamb vindaloo and a chicken dish too. we really liked the garlic naan (must have) and the mango lassi too. service was pretty good too and attentive.
Victoria M
Delicious food! I highly recommend visiting, the service is great. I ordered the dahi batata puri and goat madras. The puri was one of the best that I’ve tasted, even better than some places in Chicago. The goat was tasty and spicy. I couldn’t finish all the food since I was eating alone but look forward to finishing the goat later today!

When I think of Indian food, the first thing I look for is: does the flavor shine?
Angel looks simple and unassuming from the outside - but one bite of the food makes you realize you’re having the real deal.
+ chicken dum biryani - delicious. Flavorful rice with tender pieces of chicken.
+ garlic naan - simple, to the point, garlicky and not too oily.
+ Kale pakora - what was once kale, is delightfully crispy and carrying all the flavor from the chutneys. Delightful.
+ Fish fry - flakey perfection
+ paneer - carried the flavors of the spices well.

Literally the best Indian food I’ve had! A hidden gem totally worth every penny. It’s flavorful and not bland at all. Overall service is good and super nice!

Decided to check out Angel Indian based on excellent reviews on Yelp and Maps and were seated right away at 12:15 on Thursday. The place wasn't busy at all and we were seated in the outdoor booth that they have installed.
Very very friendly and welcoming staff is how I'd describe their team. We stuck to appetizers as our lunch and ordered Lassuni Gobi ($8.99), Paneer Tikka ($11.99), and Keema Pav ($9.99). The Lassuni Gobi was okay and was on the sweeter side. Paneer Tikka on the other hand was well flavored and the Paneer was fresh and soft! 3 good portions of paneer are served with the dish. Keema pav was thoroughly enjoyed by my wife, but found the keema to be really oily, but flavorful.
We also got a Vegetable Dum Biryani ($15.99) to go. Appropriately listed under Chef's special, the biryani is absolutely delicious and will probably be my go to dish when we visit again. I think the same has been spoken about the Chicken and Goat Dum Biryani - so definitely a must order dish!
We overall had a positive experience and will return again.
bobwho1995
Ordered the chicken dum biryani, paneer saag, and garlic naan. Definitely was enough for 2 people. Staff was attentive and friendly. Food was great, good spice and tasty. I'd say garlic naan 7/10, chicken dum biryani 8.5/10, and the saag paneer 9/10. Total came to around $50. Would come again.
Ariana Perez-Castells
The staff is incredibly friendly and attentive, and the food is absolutely delicious. We ordered the goat biryani, which comes out steaming hot and is packed with flavor, the saag paneer made with fresh greens and luscious cheese, and the garlic naan which is delicious. I love everything about Angel Indian Restaurant and am looking forward to my next visit. This is the first time I've ever left a review on Google, but I was compelled to because the place is simply great. If you have the opportunity to check it out, you won't regret it.

The staff is really nice and the food is also good. I didn’t like that they put a lot of mint into the biryani that I got but it was still very good and comparable to other Indian restaurants we’ve dined that.
I liked the way they baked the naan over the biryani pot, like a pot pie! My husband quite enjoyed his food and the spice level was just right!
Dan Nimmer
Truly delicious, first class and authentic Indian food paired with the nicest people! I highly recommend it and can’t wait to return here.

Ate with my son here in the afternoon and sat in doors (they also had an outdoor seating area). The general ambience of the resturant was pretty nice. Was slighlty cold as the AC was blowing right at us. All the employees were also very nice and especially our waiter, Sam.
We received the chips with mint yogurt on the house. The chip was crunchy and the mint yogurt was slightly sour with some spiciness.
Butter Naan... was chewy and tasted good with the curry from the murgh makhni
Murgh Makhni... Sam reccomended this as part of the Indian experience and it had a bit of sweetness to it. It says tomato sauce, but can also be seen like a form of curry and it had the Indian spice taste. Came with Briyani rice.
Goat dum briyani... quite spicy but was very tasty as well. The bread in top was the same flour as the Naan, but it feels more like flour.
Although most of the dishes were more spicy than what we were use to, it was understandable as the goal of the chefs were to make traditional Indian food.
Tejasvi Subramanian
If you’re craving home cooked, authentic and amazing Indian food this is the place to go. Worth the trek to Queens from Manhattan. The chole was unbeatable

So great, we came from Manhattan and really enjoyed our meal. The samosa chat, paneer b.35 were excellent as were our entrees. Will be back!!

After 20 years of being a Queens, NY resident I had settled down for what I thought was the real Indian food. No way, no. This is the REAL Indian food. OMG, the flavors, the A+ quality ingredients, the portion sizes, the service. The service!. I don't know what struck of luck made me found this place, but whatever it was I'm thankful to the gods that brought me here. I promise not eating Indian food at any other place any more. I think everything look brighter when I arrived and I met my Meditation Center leader eating here too :). If a person that's so knowledgeable about Indian culture and cuisine comes to this place, this is the right place to be <3
pushkala jayaraman
Great food!! Super accommodating staff. The spice level is between mild to medium but scores closest to the taste of home!
Hyun Joo Seong
WOW! Just ordered the lotus Root Khofta. This might be the best food I have had in my life. Sanju recommended it! Sam was an excellent server. The melange of spices, creaminess of texture, and the balanacing of flavors was masterful. Thank you so much and please go here!
Churu Churu
Amazing food and amazing staff also! We had the Aloo Golbi, Garlic Nan and the Chicken Dum Biriyani and everything was really good! Waiters are all very kind and attentive! The perfect combo of a good place which I will be glad to return!
Rohana R
We got the lasuni gobi, chicken dum biriyani, and chicken madras. The food was wonderfully spiced and incredibly tasty! The service was great too, and the staff were kind and attentive. Highly recommend, and can't wait to eat here again!
Keisha Demi
Amazing food, traditional indian that has out of this world flavors. I've tired so many places and nothing beats here. Every dish is made with passion and love and it makes you happy when you eat it. I read a review of someone complaining about the spices and it being too spicy, first of all it's indian food, not sure what they were expecting and No it was NOT too spicy it was Perfect and the chef is so kind, I'm sure if you ask to customize something he won't mind. The people are so friendly, they make you feel like family. Honestly they deserve a Michelin star. I can't wait to come back again. Angel Indian restaurant is a hidden treasure in NYC and it's a must have.
Darshitha
Been here for tasting their famous biryani, I tried the vegetable dum biryani, it was good. The lahsuni gobi is amazing, do give it a try.
The service was amazing and friendly.

One of the best Indian food I have ever had. Hands down. Dam Biryani was superb. Service was excellent. Definitely worth a visit.

Gotta hand it to them, the food was fantastic. My wife and I ordered takeout from here a week ago, and we just had to try it again. I seriously couldn’t decide which I loved more, the murgh makhani or the lamb rogan josh…. So let’s just say that i ate waaay too much, and enjoy every single bite. The lassuni gobi was also dangerously good, and highly recommend getting the garlic Naan, it was fantastic with both curry. The staff was very gracious and very friendly. Overall, we really love this restaurant. Definitely in our list of favorites. Would highly recommend.
Elisa Lou
It was excellent. We enjoyed the pani puri, samosa, and dum biryani. Very well priced and easily accessible from subway. Hole in the wall restaurant. We were able to get seated right away around noon on a Saturday, but they started turning people away soon after since there were no tables available.
There is outdoor seating, so during colder days, the door will open and close a lot which makes it chilly even when seated indoors.

Cleanliness: main area and bathroom was very clean
My Indian-American family wanted quality Indian food. I am an Irish-Italian-German mutt with my favorite dish usually being cabbage and potatoes, and yet I venture to try authentic international cuisine. This place succeeded to please my palette and meet my expectations for service and atmosphere.
Warning, in the winter, dress warm because when the front door opens, the room heater unit can't compete.
The work attire of the attendants were very casual, but their disposition and attentiveness to ours needs were exceptional. Also, I was able to see the staff smile several times which, in my experience, is not common.
I can't eat really spicy foods, so I ordered the vegan Vegetable moillet. It comes with basmati rice. It is mildly hot and creamy. I enjoyed it, and it kept my Indian family happy because they worry that I won't like Indian food.

Found this place on the Michelin guide and I can see why it was on there! Simply put, some of the best Indian food I have ever had! Flavors were amazing, great portions, and all I wanted to do was keep on eating!

Awesome atmosphere, authentic Indian meals and amazing customer service. I enjoyed my meal and loved the Indian movies. Will definitely come back here!!!

This Indian restaurant was exceptional. Staff was friendly and welcoming, every dish was amazing. One of the best Indian Indian I have ever had! I will definitely be back -

AMAZING AMAZING AMAZING !!! Came here to celebrate my 18th birthday with 5 other friends and not only was service, atmosphere, and timing excellent, but the best and most important part, the food was amazing. The Chicken Dum Bryanni is the BEST in ALL of Jackson Heights, hands down, some of the best food I’ve ever had, and I’m a native Bengali/Desi. Staff are so friendly, I want to personally thank the waiters and other staff that helped us out. BEST IN ALL OF NEW YORK CITY!!!!
Angie Chiraz
I wish I could eat here EVERY DAY! Amazing food, amazing service. I was stuffed but continued to eat because the goat biryani and samosa chaat were just that good. Can’t recommend this place enough.
Zee Jusuf
Excellent Indian food. Its menu is different from most Indian places I have been to. The best is their Vegetable Dum Briyani served cooked in a claypot covered with a dough like prata. Their Fish and Veg Moilee was 4star . I love their Murgh Makha i Chicken similar to Butter Chicken was 4 Star too.
Service is excellent and owner is very nice and attentive. I will be anytime I am back in NYC.
Highly recommended.

I learned of this restaurant from looking up recommended restaurants in Jackson Heights off of reddit (so you know it’s real people and not paid advertising). The food was amazing and so fragrant you can smell everything from blocks away. The biryani came in a giant mound of naan inside of which the dish was cooked. Really great service!
Sydney Stewart
I meant to add a review when I went to Angel a couple of weeks ago and forgot, but WOW! This place is amazing. I had the paneer makhani with naan, veggie samosa, and mango lassi. The paneer is made fresh daily and you really can taste the love put into the dish. The naan was well flavored and matched well with the food. Samosas were yummy and the mango lassi was refreshing on a hot summer day. I’ll definitely be returning and have raved to friends about this place multiple times since going.
Deep Vadaliya
We ordered madras chicken & butter naan & garlic naan, it wasn’t very good. curry was mostly bland, i had to ask for salt & lemon to spice it up a bit. But it was alright. Naan wasn’t great either. Papad & chutney was complimentary

Swung by after a long day of sightseeing. Had the Chole Bhatura was amazing, could have filled the two of us with just that, but we added the Chicken Madras as well. It was excellent with just the right amount of heat on the spices. Again one dish could have filled us both. Sorry no pictures of the Bhatura as we were hungry.
Be sure to get a Malasa Chai to top it off.

Came to Angel Restaurant for lunch and was absolutely pleased with the service and food ! The server was incredibly kind and gave us great recommendations for it was our first time trying Indian food! 10/10 experience, you should come here!
Natalie Huang (Nrosehuang)
Soooo delicious!! Angel make such amazing Indian food. I absolutely recommend the pani puri! The waiter was super welcoming and friendly and even showed us how to properly eat the pani puri and it was DELICIOUS!
Vidya Jayakumar
With a 4.9 overall rating, we wanted to try this place. We dropped by for a quick lunch and ordered Pani puri, Paneer Khurchan, Dhal fry and Garlic naan. The food was excellent, and as many have pointed out, the Paneer Khurchan was absolutely delicious. We sampled the Kheer and it had the right amount of sweetness & richness. It was good to see the chef / owner takes the time to come by and talk to the customers.

Great stop for lunch before heading to La Guardia Airport. Was recommended the Diwani Handi as a vegan. The spice and flavor were amazing! Staff was extremely friendly and kind. I'll be back next time I'm in NYC. Good prices for the amount of food in these times.

Amazing is the word that comes to mind when you talk about this humble restaurant in Jackson heights queen. I felt like I was taken back to the streets of india. The food tasted simply delicious. The staff was super friendly and caring. Always smiling and giving you the best experience. A special mention for our server - Sanjeev who made our dinner super special with his vibrant presence. Last but not the least it was a pleasure to meet the owner and head chef Amrit Pal who cooks this super delicious food with his own hands, only to put a smile on the faces of his customers. We heard a lot about this place in the recent past and now this is going to be our regular spot until we are here in New York. Thank you Angel restaurant, for taking me home, to India through your food. We shall be back soon..

Having gone to Adda before and really enjoying my experience, I was excited to hear about Angel. I thought Adda was excellent, and well Angel is even more so.
You can tell everything is homemade here and their emphasis on vegetarian dishes is truly unique compared to most of the other Indian restaurants I’ve eaten at.
While Adda may have a better vibe, Angel reigns supreme on taste and value. I recommend getting anything, but you must have the picturesque Biryani and I highly recommend the Lotus Root Kofta.
Martine Langatta
What a gem of a place! Definitely a great food experience. Best tandoori chicken I have ever had and I have had a lot! Will be making this a place I visit often!

food is amazing, you can feel the love and care put into these dishes. also the service is wonderful, felt very welcoming and authentic! looking forward to coming back :)

This is the first time I have actually enjoyed Indian food! I had so many different flavors in a single bite. So many seasonings balanced just right, not just a mouth full of curry taste, as experienced in the past.
The service was excellent! The waiters were so friendly and helpful with educating us on dishes and how to eat them.
Atmosphere got 3 stars simply because it is very small but perhaps that is how they maintain quality food and service!
Karn Seth
As a Mumbaikar I'm kinda picky about pani-puri, but this is some of the best I've ever had. The folks make the puris themselves (critical to freshness and the perfect crunch). They are beautifully crispy while holding their contents perfectly without dripping or falling apart. Each one is basically a small engineering miracle. Dahi batata puris are also pretty great.
And of course, the staff are angels
Eliza Loehr
Sooo good!! The biryani has the crispy breaded top (so good!) and the samosa chat was amazing too. The servers were great and very sweet to our baby!
BR
Quality of the food is good, even if it’s a little expensive (in New York, the prices are always too high for Indian food). We got Chole Bhatura, and Chicken Madras, with garlic naan. Highlight was the bhatura, which was fantastic and one of the best bhaturas ever. Madras was great. The bathroom wasn’t the cleanest but our server Sanjit was very helpful. Fast at serving, food came hot. I’d recommend this place!
Chelsea D
Amazing food and service! The samosa is a must try!!! Had the Murgh Makhani and was super yummy! The waiter was very nice and gave a great recommendations.
A Abel-Bey
Food is spiced to perfection. Came here to break the Yom Kippur fast, there was no better place to be! Started with the pani puri, paneer tikka and then goat dum briyani and garlic naan (sorry for spelling errors!) Now I'm STUFFED! Outdoor dining option still available!
Remidemic
Had to come here because there must be a reason why the have 2500 5 star reviews on here. This place is tiny. They got like 6 tables inside and another 4 outside.
The menu is short & sweet.
GET THE LAMB CHOPS 🔥🔥🔥
Totally the best thing we had. Check the video.
I’ve never seen garlic nam so glazed nan before. It looked ready for the hot lights.
Mango lassi was Poppin.
Tbh, staff could be more organized. They were all working but still took effort to get their attention. But I digress. Giving 4 stars cuz they have enough 5 stars. It was good but didn’t blow my socks off.
Every couple leaving had leftovers. Totally a surplus of food goin on in here.
I’ll prob be back. Thanks Angel.
madhuri Cabrera
We ordered paneer Tikka, chicken madras , garlic naan and chicken dum biryani. Everything was having perfect balance of spice and flavour. I loved it .
Servers were very friendly and nice.
Israel Milgrom
Great food, very nice and personal service.
We got the lotus root dish and chicken briyani in a pot. Everything was delicious!

Angel serves up big, hearty Indian meals whether you're going vegetarian or going for meat. Their paneer dishes are so good, it'll never be too much paneer. The paneer P.B35 is an S-tier dish listed under the appetizers, where you get 3 blocks of paneer pan-fried with onions and bell peppers, creating an amazing aroma. The paneer makhani features tomato gravy that is both refreshing and rich at the same time, going very well with their fluffy basmati rice (comes with the dish) and butter naan. The vegetable dum biryani I had on a different occasion was an impressive sight to behold, but more importantly, it was wholesome and comforting. Fron the complimentary papadum to the gently sweet kheer, Angel provides a great and authentic Indian culinary experience, supported by their friendly and helpful staff.
Andre Rivera
Home cooking with beautiful presentation and a warm staff. You’re in for a treat if you order the biryani. It’s cooked with naan over it and opened at your table. There are plenty of authentic restaurants in the area, but this one stands out as a place to make the trip for.
Mandy Kaur
Honestly this is the best indian restuarant I have come across in jackson heights. The pani puri is amazing (definitely worth trying) and also the biryani was great (do not skip out on this) . Highly recommend checking this place out if you're in the neighborhood.

An absolute 5* experience at Angel from start to finish. The service here is impeccable and really thoughtful. My friend and I came with his dog and the service team went over and above to make sure we were taken care of, and that his dog also enjoyed this dining experience.
We ordered the samosa chaat and this was a burst of so many flavors!!! Cooled by the yogurt, and spiced by a coriander chutney and tamarind sauce, this samosa chaat will send you on a trip to food heaven. It set the bar really high for an amazing dining experience.
We also got the Aloo Gobi (cauliflower and potatoes curry), Goat Dum Biryani and 2 naans. Note that all main curries here come with rice and an order of naan is pretty huge (4 pieces). Even though we couldn’t finish the food, I was so glad we had food to take home.
The aloo gobi was a bit more tomatoe-y than what I was anticipating, but didn’t detract from the flavor. The smell on the biryani, and the chilli powder on top of the naan for the biryani wrap were A++.
Come here for food of angels

We were craving for lassuni gobi, which is fried cauliflower with honey & garlic sauce so much and were attracted by Yelp photos of this dish from Angel Indian Restaurant.
The decor is humble, simple and clean with limited indoor & outdoor seating available. It's really popular but the wait wasn't too bad. The options on the menu are various, especially for vegetarians and we had their Lassuni Gobi, Kale Pakoda, Amul Cheese Naan and Fish Moille to share with 2 of us.
The food was overall delicious and our favorites were Kale Pakoda which was crispy & appetizing with sauce and Cheese Naan which was soft & fluffy.
The only thing we would suggest them to improve was the table arrangement. I was in my 6th month pregnancy and would like to have more space but they refused us to have a table for 4.
Mark Dimont
Service was nice but not sure the hype here. Maybe they had an off day? Pani puri was just okay. Samosa was okay but not super fresh. Chicken vindaloo was rubbery chicken in a loose red sauce without much spice. Goat biryani was good but didn't have much meat, lots of bone, and none of the mix of spices you'd expect in biryani.
The environment was tightly packed and ambiance was lacking. Sadly there are much better options out there.
Sydney McDonald
This is my favorite Indian restaurant in all of New York City, maybe in the world? This place has DIVINE food, so many vegan options and the loveliest staff! I would come back here every night if my stomach was big enough. whew! Cant recommend this place enough especially the Samosa Chaat (!!!), Pani Puri and Bhindi Masala. The chef is generous with their portions but sometimes you just gotta eat it all! Love this place more than my own kitchen! Be back soon! Sorry for the blurry pic!
Juliette Miller
Amazing authentic Indian food! We ordered appetizers and entrees enough for three people and it was affordable. We completely devoured our plates because it was THAT good! Sam was an amazing waiter and was so kind with quick service. Definitely going to come back again!

I Highly recommend this place. This is my first time here trying indian food, We ordered Chicken Biryani, Pani puri and Paneer B35. Good experience, good service. I'm coming back !
Saloni Chawala
We ordered panner PB 35,paneer khurchan,Lotus root kofta, butter roti, garlic naan, cheese Naan, veg Dum Biryani. It was our first experience and went out perfect. It made our daughter's one year birthday special. Perfect quantity, taste, quality and the person guides very well when we ordered. I would like to come for Indian food everytime here and would like to recommend others too. Thank you.
Shriram Jawahar
this was literally one of the best restaurant experiences of my life, hands down. What seems to be a very casual and low-key dining spot happens to be bursting with flavors from every dish that we ordered. We started out with the Pani Puri and gobi manchurian and then had the vegetable dum biryani.. all of them exquisite especially the biryani. My only comment would be the raita which was a bit sweeter than I would have liked. They are in line to get a Michelin star and it shows! Sameer, Sanjeev and Sabhir had some of the best customer service that I have seen in the city. They took time to even explain the origins of biryani to us and make us feel right at home..it shows that it's a well-run restaurant from top to bottom. 5 star.
Anindya Sen
One of the best Indian food places in New York in a no frills setting. The wait staff is friendly and helpful. Make a reservation in advance.
Highly recommend this place.
Padmashri Gurav
This restaurant it great! This is by far the best Indian restaurant there is. The panner tasted homade. The food is not very spicy, but you can ask them to make it. This was a very pleasant experience. The goat dum biryani is great too! Make sure you check out this restaurant if you live nearby.
Yiqiong Xiao
we came to this place on a friday night for dinner. i really enjoyed their peshwari naan. if you have a slight sweet tooth and like coconut, get it!! the rest of the food was great, pretty spicy too! here is a bad pic of the biryani we had heehee
Alex Sramek
Absolutely stellar. The Biryani is the star of the show, it comes with a layer of Naan baked on top. Pani puri appetizer is also exquisite, and Samosas are solid. Reasonably priced, my group of 5 had an amazing time. The spice is legit, not for the faint hearted.

This is a gem in Jackson Heights, Queens. Not only is the staff the best; we had Sanju and Sam as our servers and they went above and beyond. The food, yummy!!! 🤩 Words cannot describe the food party in my mouth, it was like heaven in your mouth with every bite. Make sure to try Adraki Lamb Chops for appetizer if you are a meat eater, or the Paneer Tikka for vegetarians. All entrees on our the table were amazing. Can’t wait to go back soon.
Sajith Ranasinghe
Tried the lotus root main dish (our favorite), chicken biryani and prawn chettinad (ok). Mango lassis (amazing), salty lassi (not for me). Naans were perfectly crisp but soft. Those and lotus root dish made it a place we want to come back to. A lot more stuff on menu we need to try out. Cauliflower pakora app hit the spot.
Isabel Garfinkel
food? amazing. service? impeccable. don’t have enough good things to say about this place— we drove 30 mins to get here and it was worth every second. Would highly recommend the pani puri, chicken biryani, lamb chops, and naan (any type), it’s the PERFECT texture.
Maram A
Finally a place that does not microwave their food but actually cooks it and heats it up in pots and pans. I ordered the vegetable briyani and it had Paneer, cauliflower and peas. It was very delicious especially the paneer pieces which is a type of cheese. To accompany the briyani I ordered a chicken curry that was medium spicy. I really enjoyed the food it was good authentic and clean. I also ordered the butter naan for my chicken curry and together they were both perfect. I had a cup of masala chai which was okay but chai is a particular thing. I'm just glad the food was amazing and I can't wait to return. The yoghurt sauce that came with the meal was not runny and accompaniedthe briyani well.
Mable Tun
We had a goat biryani to share and lamb skewers with garlic nann as a starter. It was the best meal we've had during our NYC trip.
P W
It’s a tiny restaurant recently got Michelin recommended. A lot of waiters. Chicken samosa is ok but not worth $3 compared it $1.5 in the neighborhood.
Ashley Choi
This was my second time coming here, and let me tell you, you will not be disappointed. I ordered the Mergh Makhni and it was delishhhh. It’s pretty spicy even though the menu doesn’t indicate it, but if you’re okay with that, then you’re in for a treat. Nan bread was perfectly crispy yet soft and the mango lassi (not in the pictures) was oh so creamy and sweet (it’s a drink btw). Overall experience was great too, I think the boss maybe? was very funny and friendly. There is also a vegetarian option for those who don’t eat meat. 5 outta 5 for me!
pranati jain
The best paneer tikka EVER. It came on a tandoor, was juicy, crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, and perfectly charred. I would drive an hour to Queens just to have this again. Also, we had the privilege of meeting the owner and he was one of the kindest chefs with the most inspiring story.
Judy Wong
First time trying Indian food and a friend recommended this place. The wait time was supposedly 45 minutes but we got a table after 10 minutes and the workers were super nice and helpful and explained the food and recommended food based on my spicy tolerance. The food was kinda spicy for me but I don’t eat spicy food that often. The food was delicious and reasonably priced. It was kinda busy when I went but I went on the weekend at night. The worker said the best time to go when it’s not busy is lunch time on week days. Workers were super friendly 10/10 would recommend

The best Indian food in the city! The Murgh Makani is my favorite dish and their Garlic Naan is out of this world. So so good!
Alex W.
I think, l ordered wrong food for me. That meat was goat with bone. Unfortunately very greasy, nerve and chewy. They don't marinade the meat either. The only good thing is servers and jasmine rice. You can go there but don't try to goat meat.
Stefan McCall
Best Indian food I've had in NYC by far.
Benny Radjasa
Probably the best Indian restaurant in Jackson Heights. No no frills restaurant, dining area can get very hot in the summer. You may want to dine outside in the evening or during cool days. The food is very casual, but tasty. The chef once worked at Adda (LIC restaurant), which is known for thier take on Briyani, which he co create, so the Briyani here is very similar with Adda's. I would say it's close, about 10% different, Adda's food is a little more refine, they do cater to different audiences. I'll try to come back when the weather gets colder and when the restaurant just opened for the day, perhaps the food will taste better when the chef and not inundated with the heat.
Hunter Newman
I think this is the best indian food ive ever eaten? Possibly best meal period? Easily in the top 10 things I've ever eaten. Like I want to move to Jackson Heights just to be able to eat everything on the menu. Or just keep getting the Vegetable Dum Biryani because its incredible. SO GOOD.

Wish I had found place this earlier. The food here is mind-blowing. The service is impeccable. Ours favorite definitely was the Pav baji and chicken biryani. Highly recommended 👌. …
Mayumi Verse
Delicious saag paneer and murgh makhani! Love love love the butter naan <3 Also, good priced and delicious mango lassi :) The biryani is not the kind I am used to but still good, and the staff was very nice 😊
Yani Fong
The food is phenomenal here with excellent service. Super well priced and good serving sizes. Everything is super authentic. The mango lassi was perfect not too sweet. The Biryani was spicy but if you can handle it 10/10 recommend. Would come back again!
Haley Holcman
Excellent meal. Very flavorful and not too spicy. We 3 ordered appetizers and Garlic naan between 2 people and it was plenty of food. My only complaint is that we were seated by the door and there was a cold draft every time the door opened. Definitely recommend this spot for the food though.
Elena Levin
Excellent place to have lunch!
My friend and I walked in and were greeted kindly, seated right away and offered drinks.
A waiter brought a menu, recommended specials and asked what level of spiciness we preferred. Complimentary bread was on te table shortly and lunch was served in 5-10 minutes.
Portion size was generous, food delicious and service was excellent!
Also, the price for all the above was very reasonable!
I can not wait to go back again!
Tung Phan
Got the goat dum briyani and lamb rogan josh. Everything was spectacular, service was also impeccable. The high praises are all well deserved.
Hamza Chirkli
We came here after landing in New York and having a stop at Jackson Heights on the way to Manhattan. Weren't in the mood for a big meal so ordered two Dahi Batata Puri plates. Absolutely out of this world. So delicious. I've tried this item at many restaurants, and this is easily in the top two. If we weren't running late to the airport on the way back, would've had it again.
Lee Silverman
Delicious Indian food. Every table we saw got the Biryani, and our was amazing. Definitely worth the trip! (The music inside was way too loud for us, but outside was fine if a bit spartan. Come for the food, not the decor - but the food is worth it.)
Ekta Kesaria
Amazing food and service. Liked everything we ordered. Samosa chat and lotus root kofta is definitely worth ordering. If you have a time crunch and you are planning to visit during weekends, it's recommended to make a reservation. They are super busy and it's a comparatively small place than usual restaurants.
chit suu
It's very tasty and great. Especially the Goat curry delicious with some kick in it. They don't compromise in flavor and this is as authentic as you get. The grilled chicken is amazing and flavorful as well.

I've lived in New York for almost 20 years and Angel's food is the best Indian I have ever encountered. Every dish was delicious (particularly the goat biryani and the tandoori chicken) and the service was great. Sam, our server, was attentive and welcoming. (Thanks Sam!) Will definitely be returning every time I'm anywhere near Jackson Heights.

Came here because of the already glowing reviews, and it did not disappoint! Some of the most delicious Indian cuisine I’ve ever had, and the service was impeccable.
Sanchit Kamath
The restaurant is reportedly one of the top 5 Indian restaurants in the city. Located in South Asian bustling neighborhood of Queen's, this restaurant was initially bit tricky to find as the lane where the place is located isn't brightly lit.
Atmosphere- Restaurant gives you a typical Indian feel with not much emphasis on the interiors but rather kept it basic and simple. This feature is overcome by the quality of food they serve.
Service- The waiters were quick enough to attend the table and note down the order. Also they served me well and were happy to provide onion and lemon as accompaniment after requesting them. The food quantity served was good too!
Food- Things I ordered:
1) Chicken P.B- 35: Staff mentioned that this is close to chilli chicken, and something which I gave a try, must say.. it was awesome! Certainly the star of the night. The chicken was nicely cooked and the soy sauce was in the right amount. Staff were happy to provide us with an extra green chutney on request.
2) Garlic naan: The naan I can say was good, it had the right amount of crisp and also the garlic taste which is required, cooked to perfection!
3) Chicken Makhani: In other words, call it butter chicken! The gravy was really good. Tbh the best butter chicken I had in the US and the main reason being the gravy which wasn't sweet as compared to the other places. Could have been better had they added a bit more masala to up the spiciness of the gravy which would have enhanced the flavor of the dish.
4) Chicken Dum Biryani: I did have a bit of high hopes but this did let me down a bit. The chicken though was cooked well but little more cooking while on dum would do better I think and also they can try to make it a bit more flavorful.
Conclusion: Overall a good place to visit and have a good Indian food. I would really love to try out more delicacies from this place.

First time visiting this restaurant but it will not be the last. Everything I ordered was vegan… The food was delicious, we ordered Lasunni Gobi (Crispy cauliflower), Dal Tadka (Yellow lentils), Baingan Bharta (eggplant) and of course garlic naan. 😋💞💕👌. Also the service was excellent 👏👏👏👏 …

This place is hands down mind-blowing! We decided to give it a try as it had a high rating and we were glad we did. Quick service, friendly owners, reasonable prices and delicious food! We had dahi puri to begin with, absolutely delicious and filling, perfect blend of dahi, chutneys and spices. For the main course we had paneer khurchan ( must try!!) and chicken biryani. Both the dishes were lip smacking with sufficient portion sizes. Had mango lassi for dessert which was fresh, creamy and delectable. The owner gave us a bit of their rice kheer to taste and that was great as well. We were so impressed that we ordered chicken vindaloo takeout and that was amazing as well. We had asked every dish to be made very spicy and they made sure it was.. superb experience, will surely be back to try other dishes!
Quintin Kreth
Angel is a great Indian restaurant and definitely worth the hype. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The food is excellent and the breads are the best I've ever had. This is definitely the place to eat in Jackson Heights.
Emmanuel Boumakis
Probably the best indian cuisine experience I’ve had! Definitely a must try!
Sam and Azaar were Phenomenal!

Hands-down the best authentic Indian food in all of Queens. Love the chicken tikka appetizer. Boneless chicken thighs come out sizzling with veggies on an iron skillet, and seasoned to perfection. My whole experience was just amazing. Went there with a friend and we received excellent, polite, courteous service. The servers were wearing masks even though there’s no more mandate. I just think that’s so courteous when staff continue to wear masks since they Have to be very close to you. I wear a mask at my job, I think it’s only right that people wear a mask at their job. So I loved that. The lamb Rogan Josh was succulent and soft as it should be. Some places don’t make it as tender but this dish was excellent! I highly recommend coming here as it was also clean too. Don’t be spooked by the tiny space and not so fancy looking outside.
Estefany Daza
Food and service are amazing. The food is delicious! The place is quite small but you can always reserve a table or order to go. I’ve eaten there and also ordered online and the food has arrived perfect. I am so happy to have found this restaurant. 12/10!!!
Gabriella
Everything was absolutely amazing and the staff went above and beyond to make us feel welcome! Will definitely be back!

Wow I was sceptical of this place but man was I wrong. Sameer you magnificent man - you serve some good food.
This place is 5 stars.

Fantastic food! We moved to Jackson Heights 3 years ago but just found Angel. Definitely the best South Asian food we’ve had so far. Goat biryani was wonderful.
Sebastian Kirsch
Had the goat biryani which comes covered in bread, as well as the aloo gobi and paneer makhani. Recommend the Peshwari naan, more of a dessert naan with coconut and sugar.
Andrew Hyatt
Dum Biryani was great, spicy and flavorful. Loved the crust on the top as well.
Ainoa Siegel
When my friends and I arrived at Angel to try their food, we were seated immediately as a larger party. The menu is plentiful but not too overwhelming and we made sure to try a variety of appetizers, main courses and drinks. We were not disappointed! The service was incredible and fast, and the food was delicious! There wasn’t a single dish I didn’t like. It’s a family-owned business and the chefs are very passionate about their work, which shows through in the food. It was a wholesome and fun experience with very kind and talented people, 10/10 recommend!

I went here tonight for the first time. I woke up wanting to have Indian food, and that taste was very much fulfilled by Angel Restaurant.
The food was amazing. The staff was really friendly and courteous. If you dont mind sitting in a bit of a cramped, no-nonsense, space, then you'll be in for a treat.
Maxwell Lee
Food here is pretty good and reasonably priced. Service could be improved - the waiters check on you a decent amount but it took a few tries to ask for simple things like water and more napkins. The mango lassi here is good, but the

Even looking through the bad reviews, people can’t deny that the food is great. Every item of food we received was fresh off the stove and delicious. Also, shout out to the entire staff!! They were so polite and sweet! My parents were having a whole conversation with them every time they stopped by. It was an authentic NYC experience!
We definitely recommend Samosa Chat to share with the table. Will be stopping by next time we get to Jackson Heights ❤️
Araf Ahmed
Their food is so nice. I went there with my friend and really enjoyed their foods. Everyone’s behavior is so nice and the environment is quite. You must try their paneer khurchan. I highly recommend this restaurant. Kale pakoda and Dahi puri was so nice and you cant get this taste from any other Indian restaurant.
Shelby Fox
food was so delish, and not a long wait. staff was friendly. 10/10

Spicy! Flavor bomb!!! Such great service!!
“Sam is so sweet and nice” -our table
“This bread is bomb” -our table
Highly recommend. I come all the way from Hell’s Kitchen to eat here.

We came in on a busy Saturday night, and one of the staff forgot that we had already put our names down. We ended up waiting an hour and a half. After we told Sam (another staff member) about this, he let us sit down ahead of one of the reservation tables to fix the mistake. The wait was worth it though, because the food was great!
Marilyn Molina
Food is delicious but tooo spicy for me i wish they can go by customer tolerance as we wish cause I can tolerate to much spicy cause of health issues. I ask to do less spicy and they waitress said they can sad pretty sad .go for the mango lazy 😋 delicious and the weather inside the restaurant need to fix that matter because in winter is to cold 🥶 and in summer as to cold weather the ambient need to be constable and Cozy is difficult when you eat uncomfortable 🤔 something to think about..
Sam Rogers (Sammy Sound)
Too spicy even for the things that are not labeled spicy on the menu. The garlic naan was really hard like it had been microwaved and tasted like it was canned garlic and not fresh garlic. The flavor profile of the main dishes were good just too spicy. Rice was good.
dc dru
If I could give this place 10 stars I would! Food is fresh, authentic spice blends, simply the best Indian food in NYC. Servers are efficient and pleasant. The chef should get Michelin stars.

Thank you for the wonderful food. Amrit (chef) did an amazing job. I was genuinely surprised how good the food came out. I haven’t had paani puri since I lived in Nepal. So this restaurant will let you relive your memories. Thank you Geet for being a great and kind server!! I highly recommend
Susan Jorge
Amazing food!! Everything was perfect. Must try the chicken biyrani and goat madras. Everything is well seasoned and made to perfection. Great service as well. Karthik was our waiter and was so kind and helpful. Thank you ❤️❤️❤️
Janice Lopez
I went for dinner with my family and the food was delicious. Excellent and speedy service too. I was really happy with the experience and so were my parents. It was their first time trying Indian food. The samosas were really tasty. The aloo gobi was the best I ever had. The butter chicken / makhani was also a favorite. And the goat madras was delish. Must get the garlic naan. After we finished we also got mango lassi and it was also the best I’ve had so far. This is a must try for anyone.
Oceane LR (oceanecdote)
Incredible food, very little waiting. One of the server was super nice and attentive. Will definitely go back at some point.
For the entrées, I highly recommend the samosa chat with the fish amritsari, the combination was 🤤.

Well worth the easy trip from NYC on the 7 train. Everything we ordered was amazing, especially the Biryani which came in a bowl with a breaded top. A treat!

I have been a loyal Jackson Diner patron for 35 years and never deviated. I had been seeing great reviews for Angel restaurant over the last 4 years. Covid restrictions shut us all down and I could not get there, til January 7th this year. We ordered some classic appetizers and the flavor was superior. The Dum Biryani with Chicken was outstanding but do not let go of the opportunity to eat the layer of bread it is baked in. We ordered the Traditional chicken tikka masala and it did not disappoint. Lamb vindaloo was delicious and the meat was cooked well and tender. Diwani Haandi was tasty but not what I expected. Typically I know this dish to be a mix of green vegetables and Angel makes it as a mixed vegetable. It was tasty though. Naan was exceptional. I am certain I have praised the food and it's quality to its deserved praise.
We walked to the restaurant after parking our car and I did not know what the restaurant looked like. It was very basic but we had a reservation and we sat at the street level in the pod. That worked out well and BYOB worked out for us.
I am giving the restaurant a 5 for food only. I hope that the owner gets a larger space and takes his restaurant to the next level.
Jonathan Bost
ummm incredible. chill vibes, great food. just tell ppl “i know a spot” then take them here

Got stranded in NYC during hurricane Ian on the way home. Found this restaurant on Google and figured it was worth trying. Had the Dahi Batata Puri and Chicken Madras. Both were outstanding!! Better than the food was the service. The guys taught me how to eat the appetizer properly as they saw me pick up a fork 😂. Great portions. Can’t say enough about the service. Will definitely be back when back in Queens.
Uyuy R
DELISH! Excellent customer service! Good energy=Good food! 😋
Sam Thomas
Best indian food in queens! Today we got butter chicken and channa masala, and last time qe got the chicken biryani which is amazing. The food can be a little on the spicy side, (how i like it) so be aware when ordering. Our server Sam was very helpful and friendly. Third time eating here and will be back again.
Jonathan Koe
Incredible Indian food and great service. Totally worth the trek to Jackson Heights. We stumbled upon this restaurant by chance after our flight landed on LaGuardia. We ordered the Lotus Root Kofta and the Chicken Dum Biryani. The first time we had it, it took us by surprise because the spice level was definitely a notch above the usual level we encounter in the city (we eat Indian quite frequently in Manhattan and Brooklyn). It was still incredibly delicious, though. We couldn’t wait to come back. Our second time, here, we were psychologically prepared for the spice level and it was a very pleasant experience.
Extra points for whoever made the playlist - the music here is always extra groovy and fun. Also, did I mention they were included by Michelin Guide?
jean gorman
We came all the way from California to eat here! Of course, the biryani was delicious as so many reviews have noted. The lotus root kofta was absolutely amazing - never had anything like this! Even more amazing is the very kind staff who made this meal even more memorable!
Zoë Beery
The reviews are all true — some of the best Indian food I've had in a while. Got some friends to try pani puri and choley bhatura for the first time here and like everything else we ordered both dishes were incredible (lamb chop appetizer was another highlight). Service was really attentive and when it came time to split up the check we were amazed at how reasonable the price was for such a fantastic meal. Will be back many more times!
Valeria Salami
I can’t recommend this place enough!!! Get the Lasuni Gobi. The cauliflower appetizer!! It’s incredible and this place feels like home. They remember my boyfriend and I from the first time we came. What a beautiful and genuine place!!! The food really is 10/10!!!!
Khandaker Ibtisam
I've to say this restaurant seems more like a restaurant too me. I went there with my friends today for the very first time and truly I'm very very impressed by their service. The whole restaurant is a vibe for me. The very best thing of this place is they do have live kitchen. So whatever you gonna eat, you'll get as fresh as hot at the same time. Their dishes are amazing, specially their goat dum biriyani and murgh makhani. Apart from this, the employees were really nice to me. They're gonna welcome you with a warm smile that's all what we want right. Amazing. A must try restaurant for everyone. GG
Brian Leveratto
One of the best authentic meals I’ve ever had. The staff is friendly especially our waiter Azar who was a great host. I would definitely go again
Akash
The food was slightly disappointing sadly especially the dum biryani
Jamie Garde
Went with a large group on a cold night. We sat in the outdoor shed, which I wouldn't return to, but the food was delicious and the service was attentive and responsive. We shared a few appetizers, rice, garlic nan, cheese nan, lamb madras, fish moille, lotus root kofta, paneer khurchan, and vegetable dum biryani. We left stuffed and very satisfied.
Savannah Kopel
WOW. Just WOW. The best Indian food I’ve ever had, on par with being in India. I wish I took photos of the food first because it was equally as appetizing as it was delicious, but we were so hungry we couldn’t help ourselves. We had the aloo gobi, chicken madras, mango lassi, and garlic naan. Every single dish was fantastic. We will be back again and again. Thank you!
Dr. Hill Krishnan
As a vegan I was immensely satisfied with the options and quality.
Rohan Kumar
Great food and ambiance. They serve papad to start off your meal. My friend and I ordered samosas and dahi batata puri for appetizers, chicken dum biryani with tandoori roti for the main course, and gulab jamun and suji halwa for dessert. Its definitely worth trying and you will want to come back.
Amanda Grossman
Chicken biryani, you have our hearts. The spices dusted on the naan crust really hit… spicy, tangy, revealing the most savory steaming bowl of rice + chicken. Happy to have the yogurt sauce it cool it out in a good way. Chai was great. This place is supreme
Neel Patel-Shah
Probably the best Indian food I've had in the city. Best paneer, tandoori roti, and garlic naan I've had in the country. Paneer reminds me of traveling in Rajasthan.
Fantastic service, always helpful and friendly even if they joke around with you a bit. They will come double and triple check your orders and specific asks to make sure you get exactly what you want.
I would much rather sit on the F or 7 for a half hour to come here than go to one of the shiny "upscale" places in Manhattan. This is good enough to be its own event, you'll want to eat so much you'll clear out the rest of your night to go home in a food coma.
Dinkar Ahuja
The food was excellent, one of the best Indian restaurants I’ve ever been to and on par with home cooked food. The service was also excellent, they checked on us very frequently and really made sure we had everything we wanted.
S C
Drove from CT based on the positive reviews. Amritpal Singh, one of the managers stopped by our table to greet us. OMG, what a dining experience. Great value but the food is out of this world and arguably much better than all the manhattan restaurants at double the price. BYOB as well which is an added bonus. You must try their Biryani which is unique and nothing like I've seen anywhere else where they cut out the rice on the table. This is by far one of the best Indian Restaurants you will ever dine at with a North Indian Punjabi flair. I wish I lived in Queens where I could do take out from this place
Thomas Devaney
A meal at Angel is a fine dining experience. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable and each plate was consistently sublime. The Biryani was especially delicious. BYO adds to the charm. This is an Indian gem. If you enjoy Indian cuisine, a meal here will be a treat. All they are missing is more space, which makes planning ahead important.
jaswinder singh
After reading the positive reviews online, ordered the food to for pick up.
When i went there the food was ready, manager was very nice and welcoming. Food was very delicious , we ordered the dum briyani and punjabi karri pakora with tandoori rotee. all the dishes were made in order with balanced spices . definitely go their for dinner.
Update 08feb2020.. Last night went in for diner and we are not disappointed, in appetizer we ordered lasoonee gobi , pani puri and batata poori with punjabi lassi, all are very very good, fresh and full of flavor. In main course we ordered rajmah masala and paneer khurcian with garlic bread and tandoori rotee and their iconic dish dum bryani, wow all comes very good, tasty and spices are well balanced. definitely recommend and will go back soon.
UPDATE: 14MAY 2021: Now non-veg addition is great. Lamb Rogan Josh,Pb35 chicken, chicken naan, chicken biryani is very delicious, must try.

So good place to have food. Lovely service and good staff. If you wanna try a special food in special place so heres the answer “ANGEL INDIAN RESTAURANT”. #goodfood #lovelymusic #greatservice
Ilya Milstein
Excellent food, stellar service! I was especially drawn to the lotus root kofta and the laal maas. Having dined at many Indian restaurants in NYC, I was struck by how exceptional the quality of Angel's food was: whether through their cooking processes, the evidently high quality/freshness of their ingredients, or just a little bit of magic, their meals are certainly a cut above the rest. I will be returning to Angel soon, hungry for more.
milan kapadia
good service, good food, fair prices, smaller menu than most indian restaurant, but still a lot of try and higher quality. I would come back to try other dishes and have some again.
Hannah Wood
Great food and friendly service! It’s a small restaurant but the tables turn quickly and we didn’t wait long. They were able to accommodate my partner’s vegan palate easily. Food was well spiced, I would have taken my chicken spicier but I’ll know to ask next time. Naan and Roti were perfect. We will be back!
Bettina Mock
My date and I ate lunch at Angel Saturday afternoon. It was absolutely delicious! We had samosas, garlic naan, matar paneer and chana masala. Every dish from fresh, well seasoned and scrumptious. Our waiter, Sam, was excellent, very sweet and attentive.
Greg
Stunning biryani. We spent the day on a food tour in Jackson and Angel was the highlight. Friendly helpful service, authentically spiced food and fair prices. A must try if you're in the area, you won't be disappointed.
Nikhil Muzumdar
Excellent fresh tasty food, generous portions. Great service! I really liked the chicken dum biryani, laal maas and fry bheja. Their paneer makhani is great too as the paneer is homemade and not the store bought variety.
Update: Forgot to say, this is some of the best Indian food I have had in the NYC area. Haven't yet found a single dish on their menu that I didn't like. We make it a point to head out here when in the Queen's area.
Michael Bomze
Just a perfect spot. Gobi appetizer is a must-get. Lamb and okra and all sauces and service.. outstanding. I will be back for sure.
Athena Rajnai
Angel is the bestest Indian food in all of New York City and quite possibly the United States. The Butter Chicken is 5 stars. This place deserves a Michelin Star. Me and my friends had the Garlic Naan (with the perfect mix of crunch, garlic, and oily steamy perfection), Pani Puri (to die for), and the Mango Lassi (sweet, creamy deliciousness). The staff is so nice and they put care and attention into every dish. If u only have one day in NYC, have this for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
kosta saragias
Food was bangin, left full and satisfied and for a great price. service was phenomenal, I accidentally goofy my bag there and when i went back to get it the servers had already put it aside waiting to be picked up. this was my second time there and i’m coming a again.
Migueluigi11
Fantastic restaurant worth the trip to Jackson heights for.
Esmeralda Huerta
Had a great experience at this restaurant. The food was SOOO good. We ordered garlic naan, lamb madras, the mumbai bhel puri, and chai tea. Great date here. :)
Stuart Kim
Excellent experience all around. The food was delicious and the service with a smile was fantastic. Samosas, Mango Lasi, Puri, everything. I missed out on the bell briani, but the other tables were enjoying it and it looked delicious too!
Lauren
Super tasty vegetarian-friendly and vegan-friendly Indian food. Loved the vegan versions of diwani handi (mixed vegetable curry with tofu instead of paneer and dal tadka. The kale pakoda was also outstanding.
Parshi Varush
After so many days had a good food today. Thank you guys for such lovely food. It’s been 3 hours I had my dinner but still I remember the first bite I had. It’s not only the food for Indians but also everyone can try this. The service is also so impressive. #goodfood #greatservice #India #Jaihind 😍😍

Absolutely amazing food and service tucked away in a cozy Jackson Heights spot. I give it a bajillion stars!
I had the lamb vindaloo which was fantasticly spicy, and the garlic naan was on point.

1. I tried Roti & saag paneer . Fresh & tasty .
2. I tried Goat biryani . But not happy . Nan on the top was over burned & black . Goat was hard & not well cook .
Kindly , attention needed.

Tasty North Indian and chat dishes. Wait staff are extremely hard working, and knowledgeable with menu. Special thanks to Azhar for recommending the Seekh Kabab. Loved the chefs special chhole bhature.

The best Indian appetisers I’ve had in the entire United States ! Definitely try this restaurant. The staff is super courteous and friendly, Truly a great dining experience !
Latha Ayyalapu
The saag paneer, chicken sizzler appetizer, chicken biriyani were all awesome. The service was great. Our waiter Karthik was very friendly and answered all of our questions about the food.
Connor Higgins
Easily the best Indian restaurant I’ve been to in the US, and I’ve been to a fair number! The quality of the ingredients is immediately obvious— staff are super friendly as well
Kayleigh Lavender
Best Indian spot we’ve been to in nyc. Highly recommend samosa chat. The saag paneer, goat biryani, vindaloo were all very good! Great service as well.
Cindy Wu
Cannot recommend Angel enough! We ordered a bunch of things to share and enjoyed every dish. Don’t miss the kale pakora, garlic naan, and the baingan bartha! Service was fast, attentive, and friendly.
If you’re dining in the winter, dress warmly - it’s quite cold inside the restaurant.
Alexis Karl
Angel is absolutely marvelous- traditional Panjab Vegetable Moilee with its silky coconut milk , mustard seed sauce is not to be missed! The Aloo Gobi is perfect: tomatoes and spices are in brilliant balance. The Naan is so good I’ll be dreaming about it . Topped off with the Chai Masal, this was a perfect meal ! As an added bonus, the staff couldn’t be more lovey and accommodating!
T C
My 2nd time going to Angel. Really good service. The Goat Biryani,Samosa,Garlic Naan and Mango Lassi was really tasty. One of the best places I go to enjoy Indian Cuisine.
Ned Kellenberger
Wonderful. Garlic Naan was beautiful. Laal Maas very nice! Well balanced. Generous with the goat portion. Well seasoned. Azar and Sam gave great service.
A. Nafis Arafat
For those who put food above everything else
Highly recommend :
Bhel - crisp, was beautifully filled and seasoned
Dum Biryani - spiced to perfection. We were fighting over the bread on top
Paneer makhani - no nonsense, simply good
Also get the Punjabi Lassi and save some space for the Halwa!
Michael Roess
The best paneer I’ve had outside of India. Soft and buttery.
For my fellow Americans, try the pani puri—such a fun dish.
Good flavors, and great service - Sam was the best!
Justin Rice
Had the chicken biryani and it was great, as was the service
Jess Devi
Great food and mouth watering scents that motivates a rumbling appetite. Small seating area, so prepare for that and head on over on non-rush times like evening dinners on weekends.
mihir702
We had the murgh makhani, saag paneer, laasuni gobi and chicken biryani. Everything was outstanding and amazingly spiced, can’t wait to bring more people here since this place is perfect for big groups
Jill Cornell
What could be better than authentic, fresh Vegetarian Indian food recommended by a Jackson Heights native. If Bourdain was still with us he would be all Over this place. Definitely a casual vibe, but incredibly tasty.
Kabir Khan
Best Indian food not just in Jackson Heights, but I would say in entire New York City. Food is freshly cooked and the service is always top-notch.
Richard Hatchard
The food and service were impeccable, it was easily one of the best Indian meals I've tried. Great value and highly recommended (especially the lamb chops!)
Ajay Shroff
Definitely in the top 10% of Indian restaurants in NYC. Would definitely recommend stopping by for lunch or a quick casual dinner if in Jackson Heights, but also making the trip to Queens from other boroughs (we came from Manhattan).
A couple highlights:
-Pani Puri - maybe the best pani I’ve had outside of a street stall in India (sound off in the comments)
-Dum Biriyani - absolute must-try
-Our guy Azar with the friendly service
Did they ask us to review them on our way out? Yes. But do they fully deserve 5 stars? Also yes.
We’ll definitely be back with our friends!
Swaroop B

The food was amazing! Especially the goat biriyani, it was full of flavors with the right amount of spices. The food portion along with the price range was reasonable. Their staff were super nice, especially Samir. I’d definitely come back to this place ASAP.
Laila M
The. Food. Is. Amazing. I would have included my before dish, but it was so delicious I inhaled it before I knew what happened. So, and after photo is all you get. Ask you waiter for recommendations, everything is amazing.
Irene L
My friend and I have been hearing about this place for a while so we set up a lunch date. Her family is from India, so if there's anyone who knows good Indian food, it's her, and, boy, was she having the time of her life here haha. She loved the music, the smells, and said the food tasted very authentic and felt like home.
They have a vegan menu and a vegetarian menu. I ordered the vegetable dum biryani, whereas my friend was looking for something lighter, and less carby, so she ordered the paneer khurchan.
The biryani comes in a pot and is covered by a layer of fluffy naan. It does have paneer cheese in it, but you can also get a vegan version. It smelled amazing and the naan was beautifully cooked.
The paneer khurchan felt very light and healthy. It's a dish of paneer, tomatoes, and peppers. They use butter, not oil in this, but my friend thought the sauce was too oily. The chef was very receptive to feedback, though, and removed some of the butter at the bottom of the bowl, for her.
The staff are very friendly. One of the waiters was getting ready to go on his lunch break and we asked what he was eating, so he came over with his bowl and offered for us to try some. It was a chickpea based dish, which I don't remember the name of but it was very good. I should add that he poured some of it onto one of our clean plates and this was before he had started eating it.
Be forewarned, even the mild spice level is still very spicy. The portions are great. I had enough leftovers for 3 more meals after that.
Andre
Amazing restaurant that allows BYOB and has really kind and welcoming servers. Overall great time
Sanjana Basker
Adnan at Angel provided the best customer experience for us today. The food (Chicken Vindaloo, Paneer Makhani, and Amul Cheese Naan, and Masala Chai) was incredibly delicious, well priced, and brought out very quickly. I enjoyed every second of it.
Fahema Nadira
Without doubt the best place in NYC for authentic South Asian food. Reminds of the East London curry houses ... I've tried everything on the menu and there's not a single option I wouldn't recommend ...
Taeyoung Choi
Hands down the best Indian food I’ve ever had! Staffs are nice and helpful. The food is just mind blowing good. Greatness!!!

Angel is the BEST PLACE - won the Michelin bib gourmand award and has never let us down.
My friends said that this place has food that tastes better than their home cooked meals by their mothers - which is saying something!
We ordered a spread of lovely food - butter chicken, biryani, aloo ghobi, and paneer and everything was fantastic!
The food is incredible, service is unbelievably fast, and the music is always on point. 100% would recommend to any and everyone!
Denil S.
Absolutely great place to eat. The dishes are flavorful and authentic. Will definitely go back again!
Jamie Mathew
The food and service here is amazing! We sat outside in their outdoor dining setup but they also have seats inside. Food came out quickly and was sooooo good. Very friendly staff and owner.
Jake Radell
Incredible food and very nice people. The paneer was unlike any I have ever had before, much fresher and with a great texture, because it is made fresh in house. Chooza tikka was also really amazing
J D
We ordered a variety of food. The goat bhuna was really good. I like the way they did with the chicken biryani over the bread. will def come here again.
Mingmar Lama
First time trying this restaurant! Wanted to see what the hype was all about! We ordered pani puri for appetizer, vegetable dum biryani and Lamb Rogan Josh, and side of Garlic Naan.
Pani puri could have been lot better given the fact that they are overly charged. Veg Dum biryani is alright. I felt like the masala was too over powering if the masala wasn’t heavy I am sure it would have tasted better. Last but not the least Lamb Rogan Josh was the besssssssssst it had great flavors a little on the spicer side which we love that! The lamb was cooked perfectly so we thoroughly enjoyed this dish, not to forget one of the best garlic naans I ever ate so light and perfectly seasoned with right a pint of garlic. Will definitely go back to try other dishes again.
Udayan Mittal
Absolutely yummy vegetarian food! We had pain Puri, dal, paneer tikka and palak tofu and every single item was delicious and well made. Highly highly recommend coming here.

This place filled our hearts with joy! We’ve been searching for our go to Indian restaurant for years and have finally found it. Quality, service and love are 3 of the great ingredients. The flavors were balanced with the spices. And there was so much love in the food you could taste it! First time since I moved from England 10 years ago that I found such high quality Indian food. Our mew favorite place!! We will be back with more friends!!!
Polly NYC
Delicious! So fresh and flavorful! Portions are generous, and service was attentive. They are such nice people there. We will be back soon. 😋☺️🤩

I have been wanting pani poori for a while. What better place to come for Indian food than Jackson Heights lol. This place really delivered. Prompt and friendly service. Pani poori and lamb that I got were both delicious. I am just sad that I couldn’t eat everything in front of me. I am so stuffed. Had to stop haha. Definitely recommend this place.
Raksha vashishta
Exceptionally tasty Indian food. I loved every dish I ordered but Dahi batata Puri and chicken Dum Biryani was chef's kiss. Definitely Recommend

Some friends and I were visiting New York from out of town, and were craving Indian food. Coming from three Indian people… this place has got to be one of the best Indian restaurants we’ve been to, hands down. The service was great, staff was incredibly warm and inviting, and the food was unbelievable. We got the paneer makhani, saag paneer, panipuri, dahi puri, daal makhani, and garlic/cheesy naan. Perfect for a rainy day. Would 100% come back next time we’re in Queens!
Hannah Fink
The food here was AMAZING!!! Sam was so awesome, he made sure to take care of us and recommend the best dishes. Service overall makes this place 5 stars, but the food itself makes it 10 stars. A must visit!!!!!!

Hemant Achrekar
I was visiting US and happen to be shopping at Patel Bros at Jackson heights. As it was lunch time I googled best place for Indian food and came across Angel who had 4.9 stars.
I decided to have my lunch there as I was craving for some Indian food and let me tell you I wasn't disappointed at all. For food and service I give 5 stars as that's the maximum I can give.
I had ordered Garlic butter nan and butter chicken. The nan was fluffy, buttery and was served hot. The butter chicken was the most delicious I had ever eaten (including in India) I was totally amazed with the quality and quantity of the food.
The food left me licking my fingers. I strongly recommend this little Gem to Indian food lovers. I was told that their Biryani is best but didn't get a chance to taste it. May be in my next visit. Thank you Angel and keep up the good work.
Astrid Sofia
A must go when visiting NYC! The food was among the best indian food I've ever had and the prices were not just reasonable, they were good for the value of the food and quantity. Everything just tasted fresh and well seasoned. The restaurant looks quite simple at first but the food makes up for it. During our lunch we were also serenaded and had a very nice conversation with our waiter Tim and his attentive colleague Sam. If you take 1-2 starters I would recommend sharing a main course since they were quite generous.

Food was excellent! Chai is okay. The only thing is that I hope the servers will not hang around basically 6 inch behind your back...
Jasmine
Amazing service, the place was packed on a random Tuesday night which is always a good sign. Sam was such a sweet and attentive server and all the food was so good! I especially appreciated the specifically labeled vegan options, where they actually made a note on the receipt about it. Thank you to Sam and everyone at Angel!
Katherine Chan
#1 one on the non veg appetizer menu is delicious. This place is great for deliciousness, music and service.
Rafaella Litvin
We came here on a Friday night, almost at closing time, straight from La Guardia airport hoping they'd still be willing to sit us. Not only did they do that happily, but the service was great and the food was just amazing! We got the pani puri, veg biryani, lotus root kofta and garlic naan - would get all of it again but the kofta was the highlight for me (I already miss it!). Portions are generous too, we were two and had to take a good amount home. Will be coming back!
[just fyi the pani puri were half gone before I took the picture]

Ordered the tandoori chicken, murgh makhani and lamb rogan josh. Easily the most authentic Indian in NYC! Fantastic flavor and excellent service.
vivek kovivalla
Very nice place, you will get a high end taste and hospitality for a cheap price. Ambience is very normal, but food is excellent. Hospitality is great. Very nice and accommodating folks. Went with high expectations and came out satisfied. Food felt authentic, not Americanized. You can feel the heat and the flavor. Highly recommend it.

This place was amazing!! The food was excellent and the best Indian in NYC! I recommend the chicken dum biryani!! So delicious!! The staff was also very nice and helpful!! Definitely coming back!!
Casey Werner
Got the Chicken Dum Biryani, it was delicious, you get a large serving, and the service was great 👍 Will definitely be coming back

LET ME TELL YOU the food is beyond amazing! The owner is so friendly and family oriented and took the time to even speak to us although he was very busy in the kitchen. He does all the cooking himself and make sure his food is made with the finest quality and ingredients. He has vegan and vegetarian options as well as meat (those are the lamb chops in the picture below). The food is not only AMAZING but it’s authentic Indian food which is hard to find in NYC. I NEVER right reviews in all the history of me going to restaurants (and I am a major foodie) but this man and his family deserve all the love they put out into their business and food.
Amit Kinger
Great restaurant. One of the best Indian restaurant in the whole NYC. If you go, don't be surprised from the outside, or the ambiance, just order and eat the food. Chef is the owner of the restaurant and was friendly and came to talk to us. Food for was very tasty. I am crazy about biryanis and have never tried better biryani before (look at the picture)....yup, all their biryanis are cooked this way with naan on top of the container.
R O
The food is so tasty! The staff is very accommodating and welcoming! Fresh food !
Vinamrata Singal
BEST BIRYANI IN NYC! I’m brown and have had a lot of biryani in my life, and this place has dope food. Their dahi batata is also incredible. Highly recommend in Jackson Heights!!!
Andy Andersen
Great food! Even in a neighborhood with steep competition for food, this place was excellent. The food was high quality, service was prompt and presentation was nice. I'd recommend!
Allison L.
In a neighborhood saturated with South Asian cuisine options, Angel truly stands out as a gem. The food comes out fresh, spicy, flavorful and is consistent in quality. The portions are generous and a great bang for your buck! For a no-frills, local establishment there is a decadent shock value to each entree’s presentation that has been thoughtfully curated by the chefs. It is apparent that the dishes are prepared with detail and the staff is always attentive to customers. They have a small space, but are accommodating to large parties if you call ahead. Some must-trys are the dum biriyani, batata puri appetizer, saag and tandoori chicken. Highly recommend this place for unforgettable Indian food!
Adam Poplawski
Best Indian restaurant in New York. Delicious food, great service, and my go-to for great Butter Chicken, Garlic Naan, and Biryani.
Thomas ONeill
Delicious food. Flavor country. Heat & mouth watering experience. True
This is the spot for people new to the Jackson Heights Indian cuisine experience. You won’t regret eating here
avyone clinton
I really enjoyed the food here.
It is made very quickly to order, and the inside is beautiful!
Azhar was a great server to me, and he made my night with his explanations and positivity.
I will be back here again when I visit New York next time. ❤️
Shrujay Rompicherla
Best Indian food I have had in NYC! The service is impeccable and polite. I really enjoyed the goat madras and chicken vindaloo, and I definitely recommend it if you’re in the area!
Shiful Kamal
Best Indian food Restaurant Ever.
Keema Pav is Spicy and yummy too.
ADNAN is a Best Food Server there.
He knows people taste.
Food was serving so quickly.
Gesualdo Ortega
My new favorite Indian restaurant in the city! The food was amazing - if you like spicy dishes, definitely try the vindaloo. Our waiter Sam was so kind and attentive
Camilo Fuentealba
Do yourself a favor and come eat at Angel’s with couple of friends. Great service, excellent food and the servings are generous so make sure you order to share.
Rudhar aka Moon, who also served me, named the place after his 8 year old niece, the chef’s daughter and husband to his sister.
They opened a few months before the pandemic so it pleases me to see them open because I’ll be coming back!
daniel feld
Really delicious food. Had the pani puri, chicken dum biryani with raita, and saag tofu.
Sophie Harding
Took my husband and my family here for a wedding celebration dinner and it could not have been better. They kindly prepared the table for 8 for our reservation and provided wonderful service. On top of that, this is easily the best indian food ive had in the city. The garlic naan alone is the best ive had--you actually taste the flavor. The food was all 10/10, not soupy or oily, instead thick and flavorful. Will be recommending this to anyone who asks for an indian food rec in NYC. Get outta manhattan folks, jackson heights has the flavor!!
Melissa Lanspery
Angel is the best Indian food in the city! BYOB. Great service, amazing, fresh, vegetarian options. Clay oven naan. Will be going back again!
MacArthur Antigua
Phenomenal flavors, attentive waitstaff. Ya gotta go, yo'.

I had a great experience here with my boyfriend. The food was delicious! For dinner we had the samosa chaat (best I’ve ever had), aloo gobi, and dal tadka. I thoroughly enjoyed the mango lassi & chai! Our server was incredibly sweet. Easily my best experience at an Indian restaurant.
Nicole Surani
Best biryani I’ve ever had!
Onyx Shahryar Ahmad
Just came from California and found this wonderful restaurant for lunch. Very delicious food and quite environment. Music system is very good. I had lamb Bhuba which was so nice. I highly recommend everyone to try their food.
Brian Lee
Excellent lamb chops and lamb dum Biryani! Very friendly service and warm atmosphere.
Tyler Shore
Best Indian food! Large portions too. The Samosa Chaat was absolutely unforgettable, and the service was excellent. Worth the trip from Manhattan!
Wendy Kwan
We stopped by here on our way home from the airport because we were craving Indian food. The free Q70 brought us right to the restaurant in one stop and allowed us to avoid the expensive Uber fares from LGA. Both the food and service are were phenomenal. We got the lamb biriyani and the chicken vindaloo. We also got the pani puri for appetizer - which is a refreshing flavor bomb / awesome amuse bouche. Having dined at Dhamaka and Adda, this place delivers the same quality with a lower price tag with less fancy dishware. We also saw a sign outside as we were leaving that the place is BYOB. We will definitely return… next time with some drinks! Please give this place a try!
Maggie Macgregor
Angel restaurant is the real deal. The paneer was so tender and fresh, and the murgh makhani was just the right amount of spice. The vindaloo could have been spicier. Overall great experience, will be back.
Marie Alth
The food was good but not outstanding. I'm surprised they have a 4.9, to be honest. Service was good but the environment was very much that of a fast food restaurant. It was also a little pricey.
Mor Yona
The best Indian food I’ve had in nyc! Must go. My favorite appetizer was the samosa chat, I literally will have dreams about it! Will be back asap!
Hardik Patel
The taste is great, my brother in law came for India and I took him there. He also loved the food there. He was impressed by the taste he got from there.
Kamil Ratajczak
We stayed in the area and our visit to this place was based my big love for Indian food on high rating of the place. Absolutely no disappointment. Delicious food and very friendly service. Probably the tastiest chicken biryiani I've ever had.Goat bhuna was also very tasty.Top class naan and delish papadams that we were given complementary while waiting for our dishes. If you're fan of fancy dining rooms and posh experience... It's not the place for you.If you go to restaurant mainly for whats on the plate and you appreciate good authentic food...this is the place you should try. Thanks Angel
Sheerene Mohamed
We had the goat dum biriyani and the chicken tikka. Both were absolutely amazing. The biriyani had the softest pieces of goat, cooked to perfection. Will DEFINITELY be back. The service was also pleasant and helpful.
Satinder Sandhu
We came here because of the high feedback scores. We eat with our eyes and yes the food looks great. Steaming Biryani looks delicious, Murgh makhani looks vibrant and tasty, unfortunately the food lacks flavors, lacks spices. It’s chilli and hot, breads are ok but again, nothing special. Service is attentive but as there is limited space, waiters tend to be standing around if not over you.
Overall very disappointing. I’m an Indian from London who knows a good curry, this sadly was nowhere up to standards. The high score is mid-leading, and I’m sure there were more authentic and less expensive places around. I don’t like to give negative feedback but I have to be honest.
Alexandra Puiu
What a nice place!! Delicious food and service was amazing. The chicken was so tender really recommend it! Also Sam is a great waiter :))
erika mitchell
Angel is a small restaurant that I had not noticed until recently and am I glad I decided to give it a try! The restaurant is unassuming but the food is just fantastic and that's what I care about. I tried the chicken dum biryani and the goat bhuna and both were deliciously spiced, and the meats were so tender. Just so good! The portions were plentiful too. I definitely recommend giving Angel a try...I'll be back for sure!
Allen Yancy
This is hands down, no doubt the best Indian food I have ever had. It is probably among the best food period. My compliments to Adnan.
Ying
one of the best indian restaurants i have been to! we ordered the samosas, murgh makhani, lamb vindaloo, and goat dum biryani! everything came out really fast and definitely high quality. the portions were also huge so we had a lot of leftovers. would 10/10 recommend and come again :-)

pabba kavya
Had an peaceful experience with friends . The food is enjoyable. The restaurant is beside of metro so it can be easily accessible.
Sofie Scott
Incredibly delicious food, for a very affordable price! Went with my partner and ordered two mains and some Naan, went home with more than enough leftovers for a second meal! We especially loved the Chole Bhatura.
Fair warning: if you are like me and have gotten used to very American Indian restaurants the food is definitely spicier here!
Melissa Leveratto
Amazing time here and the employees are phenomenal! Our waiter Azar was the best and gave my family and I the best recommendations. Definitely worth making the trip here and the food spontaneous!!!
Puja Parekh
Great dining experience! Everything came out quickly and and the dum biryani is so fresh and delicious. A truly unique dish. I order it every time I visit. Our waiter, Sam, was also super friendly!
MS Shuhan
I went to Angel Indian Restaurant, last Sunday. I must say the service was so good. Murgh Makhani was so delicious and the meat in the curry was so tender. Coming to the ambience, it is pretty cool with Bollywood music in the air to enhance your experience. I also ordered Goat Madras and Garlic naan to go. The servers were also very kind. I will come back soon. 😋😋😋😋😋🎖
lyla h
Amazing and fulfilling meal. Authentic Indian for a good price. We ordered the Paneer Makhani and Chicken Dum Biryani as well as a Roti. The flavors hit perfectly.
We have tried many Indian restaurants, and this is currently our favorite in the city and the country.
Nick Ellenoff
Order: tandoori chicken, gobi, shrimp curry
Verdict: all very solid across the board but nothing crazy. Tandoori chicken was quite good though.
Jenna Cardinale
No frills dining with incredible service and stellar food (the paneer — wowza!). Also got to try a Thums Up for the first time.
Jay Mehta
It was real spicy and eclectic experience amazing delicacies and lost importantly the waiter came to personally handle our takeout order when we left and was managed to give it to us thanks a lot for you're amazing hospitality at you’re Angel restaurant !!!!!
John Mader
In the middle of Jackson (Delhi) Heights, you will find this jewel. Be sure to try their uniquely delicious Vegetable Dum Biryani, Dahl Batata Puri, Lotus Root Kofta, and simply wonderful Garlic Naan. Next time we'll get the Pakoda Kale! We'll be back.
Yuzhou Wang
Worth every visit.

In the Punjabi language 'Pari' refers to a Charitable Prince or an Angel, and this spirit pervades everything at this spectacular restaurant specializing in northwest Indian cuisine. You can begin a great meal with the salted lassi, which is yogurt at the consistency of milk, flavored with the characteristic spices of the region: cumin, black cardamom, kashmiri chili, and salt.
We were greeted by a first-class and high-humored waiter who, when prompted, knows the menu in intimate detail. The cauliflower appetizer is crispy on the outside, and al dente on the inside, served hot from the fat, degreased and sauced such that all four of your taste sensors: sweet, sour, salty and bitter, will fire at once. This is sublime street food. Also appearing at our table was a kale dish--really an excuse to eat fried chickpeas--that is forgettable, but was compensated for by a magnificent homemade paneer, served in fresh hot slices with a mild tomato-based gravy. They are missing an appetizer in heaven.
Our entrees were Chicken Madras, which we chose for its mildness, to act as a place of refuge, because we also ordered Laal Mas, a fiery goat curry dish, made with kashmiri chili, yogurt and an exquisite blend of aromatics. Having eaten this dish in Jaisalmer, India, and having cooked it myself, I can say this is better than what I had overseas, with bonus points awarded for air conditioning. Rogan Josh, the Amer-Indian staple, is a lamb dish with a vinegar-based sauce, is better at Angel Restaurant than most other versions we have tried. Alas, we did not order the biryani, though the table next to ours did, and it is clearly the house specialty, coming, as it does, wearing a turban made of pastry, that is decapitated and served in a display of swordsmanship by the waitstaff revelling in the drama and the spectacle that is part of the dish's enjoyment. There is a curious mixture of love and pride going on in this restaurant and it is a marvel. The biryani won hearty approval from the table.
Our trip to Angel was, I am ashamed to admit, our first venture into Jackson Heights, and the kitchen and the service overwhelmingly impressed us. Angel restaurant is small (ten tables), and its decor is closer to that of a luncheonette than a dining room. Nevertheless, in terms of flavor, this is one of New York City's gems, and it is moderately priced to boot. No alcohol. Highly recommended.
Lisa Ganz
Believe the hype! This was our fourth stop (and last stop) on a self guided food tour of Jackson Heights, so my only regret is not being able to try more dishes. The Dum Biryani was absolutely incredible. The staff was lovely, the aromas delightful, and the dish, as well as the accompanying Raita, were some of the best Indian food we've had. Will make the trek from Manhattan to Jackson Heights try more Angel dishes soon!
Maria Arpa
Without doubt the best Indian food I have eaten in a long time.
Every dish perfect. Third visit.
John Zavocki
Angel is phenomenal ... simply a staple. Puts every other Indian restaurant in Jackson Heights to shame!
Teddy Fitz
The food was amazing. Our server Sam was especially polite and helpful. 5 stars!
Tom Fogle
There's a reason why the dahi puri is the first picture you see – it's so friggin good. The raita type sauce with the papadum was also surprisingly good. I reckon the whole menu is good, also prices don't break the wallet. Outdoor seating was very nice. Tim is dope. If you see Tim, say hi for me.
Martin Bruce Viet
Amazing food! I got the chicken Biryani with my gf and it was smacking! Special tha ks to the chef Sanju who has named the place after a family member
R. C. Fletcher
Some of THE best Indian food I have ever had. 20/10 Definitely recommend
Sarah Elisabeth Russell
we got lasuni gobi, dal tadka, baingan bharta, and roti. all delicious, especially the gobi. only complaint is that it was rather cold because of delivery people coming in and out. no one’s fault but 🥶 brrr. the warm cozy food helped!
Ronak Agrawal
One of the best Indian foods in Jackson heights.
You can customise it as per your demand and the chef executes it very well.
Highly recommended.
Robert Albero
A very authentic experience: India in NYC. Sam and Tim were amazing waiterz explaining all the dishes with enthusiasm and patience. Cheap, high quality fine Indian food. Appetizers were delicious ( and the best lamb I had in NYC)
VerNia Garvin
Food was amazing! Workers were so polite and helpful! Get the tamrind sauce and put it on EVERY THANG!!! DELICIOUS 🤤

Varunram Ganesh
Amazing food, great service and people. Can't go wrong with pretty much any menu item here - vegetarian or otherwise.
Tati Hana
I loved the pani puri. And the paneer kurchan was very flavorful.
Great service and amazing food!
Dimitri Roussos
There is indeed a reason why Angel has close to 2,000 reviews and has a 4.9 rating. First the service cross the board is welcoming and super efficient. Second the food is incredibly on point whether you order vegan, vegetarian OR with meat, everything is perfectly seasoned and delicious. Lastly the price point is beyond fair, incredible value especially considering both the portion size and value.
I purposefully ordered 3 times the amount of food I needed just to sample all that I wanted and still only had a $56 check....
I am a 35 year NYC restaurant professional and Angel is easily the best money I have ever spent at ANY place that serves food in NY, ket alone a full service restaurant.....The nice bonus IS...AND I did NOT realize this Angel does not have a liquor license BUT welcomes BYOB.....Next time which will be very soon I will take advantage...
Thank you to the staff at Angel........................
Kathia Jerónimo
It’s a great experience. The ambiance is very welcoming. Amazing food and service. Staff are extremely knowledgeable and I make great recommendation.

Some of the best Indian food I’ve had in NY. Friendly Staff!
Stephanie Frigault
The guys are so nice and attentive. We brought our baby and they were so sweet with her. She loved it! The food is our favorite in the area and thats saying something if you know the area! I particularly like the dal. I encourage you to check it out.

Simply awesome. The chicken vindaloo is fire, literally. So spicy but so darn good! I love the big portions too. If you love spicy bold flavors, then congratulations to a lifelong love affair!
Jakir Hossen
We ordered the Biryani here and It was really the best I have in new York. This place serves a good variety of Indian dishes.
Xhovani M
The butter chicken and garlic nan were to die for. The mango lassi was also fantastic. The services thanks to Azhar and Sam was always amazing. If you want some amazing Indian food come here.
Arkin Khosla
Amazing food, best Indian food in NYC. Azhar took great care of us — solid customer service.
Marco Chiappetta
Delicious Indian meal. Best samosa ever. The chicken biryani was amazing and the spicy lamb as appetizer is unforgettable. People here is very kind and friendly, especially Sam, who made us feel at home and was impeccable.
Brian Tom O'Connor
As far as the food and the service goes, this is one of the very best Indian restaurants in the city. It's small, but it's a unique gem. Not your standard fare. Every dish is unique and delicious.
But if you want to have a conservation with your dinner companions, you'll have to sit outside because you'll have to yell to be heard over the music inside.
Yuan Lim
Great food and good service all around! Great portion as well! Highly recommend
Ian Jane
This place was great. You could easily walk past it and not know you're missing something amazing, as it isn't the most exciting looking place around, but you'd be doing a disservice to yourself if you did. The food was excellent, cooked fresh and prepared quickly. LOTS of flavor in each of the dishes our group ordered, and it looked as good as it tasted.
Additionally, our waiter, whose name I didn't catch, was great. He had an excellent sense of humor and happily answered all of our many questions about the menu (and life in general). He was also very prompt and polite.
The only draw back to the place is you can't get a beer or a cocktail as they don't have a license for that, but otherwise, two thumbs up and I'll definitely go back.
Brian Kempf
Phenomenal vegetarian options and attentive service
Jessica Rodriguez
Amazing place … food was delicious. Highly recommend to come and enjoy this cozy Indian place.
vamshi krishna ch
Very good place and the food was so delicious and I will be waiting eagerly to have food again, thanks for the great Indian food 🤗
andrew RADZIK
Have eaten at this tiny restaurant several times, the food has been wonderful each time. Some of the best biryani we ever tasted, but the rest of the menu has so far exceeded all expectations. In an area full of Indian restaurants, many of which we have experienced, Angel is the best!
Ailen Fee
OMG! Everything was so saucy and yummy! Highly recommend the kale pakora, amul naan, garlic cauliflower, paneer pb35 and mango lassi!
Parina Kay
I love going to Angels. Everytime I eat at this restaurant it's like I'm giving myself a treat. Regardless of whether I eat in or order takeout, the food is consistently seasoned and cooked to perfection. I know what flavors I am expecting in each dish everytime I go, and everytime they deliver. They are hands down, one of my favorite restaurants in Jackson Heights.
I usually add photos to my food reviews, but I can never get photos of the food here because I eat it all before I even think of taking a picture.
Personally my favorite things to order are:
- Garlic Naan: Delicious garlic and herbs on fresh naan. You can't go wrong.
- Paneer Makhni: The paneer they use is fresh, which is to be expected given the area, but the sauce itself is thick, creamy, and full of flavor. Cleaning the bowl with the garlic naan is a must.
- Dal Makhni - Again, nice, spicy, and creamy with the nuttiness of the lentils. I don't get this all the time, but I order this if I really want dal.
- Chicken Dum Biryani: The chicken is always so soft and tender, and if you are dining in, it comes hidden under a tent of spiced naan. The biryani itself is seasoned well - there is depth to the flavor, and it is always unapologetically spiced.
- Mango Lassi: Sweet and cooling
Andreas Rotenberg
I am designating both the goat Biryani and the Halwa as Top Treats. I issue proclamations and make orders to that effect. Please recognize this.

Amazing food 👏🏽 every 👏🏽 damn 👏🏽 time!
Chicken biryani and lamb madras never fails to impress! 2 mains are always big enough to feed a couple and have a little leftover. We love bringing friends here who want an authentic Indian food experience. …

I had such a delicious meal at Angel. We ordered all vegetarian options to accommodate my boyfriend’s diet and despite eating meat myself, I was totally impressed. A true joy to visit this establishment in Jackson Heights! Thank you to the entire team at Angel.
Elisabeth Narine
The service and food and Angel are great. We ordered the pani puri, murgh makhni, and garlic naan. Everything was delicious and presented well. We’ll definitely be back again.
Mitesh Bohra
Among the top 5 Indian restaurants for me in all of US. The food is totally amazing and flavorful. The service is better than even the personalized upscale restaurants. Sanju took the time to talk to us, recommend and customize according to our preferences. Everyone was super nice and friendly and that’s not something that you find in many Indian restaurants. Highly recommended. Jackson heights is almost like a tourist visit now for folks who live anywhere in the US and need to see the good old India of the 90’s. They have still preserved all of that here. If you visit Jackson Heights, lunch or dinner at Angel is a must! A++
Matthew Dintenfass
Honestly the best pani puri I’ve had outside of India. Everything was fantastic, especially samosa chaat. Very nice staff.
Michael Herrick
Quick service and great food. I really enjoyed the garlic naan (crisp, buttery and loaded with garlic)
Ujjwal Dahuja
Best Indian restaurant I've been to in all of America. Food is delicious, portions are good, prices are highly reasonable.
Michael Cordone
The chicken vindaloo is out control. The chicken is so tender and juicy. All of the food is amazing, samosa chat, also incredible.
Anna S.
My friends and I dined in, ordering a few things to share family style. Everything was delicious and sufficiently spicy... we were informed everything is "standard spicy" and there are no adjustments. If you're not good with spicy food, probably not the place for you. But we all were fine with it and enjoyed. I think for me, it was the max spice I can take and still enjoy the food. The portions are very generous. We had enough to divide up between us to take home after.
For vegetarians, be aware that although this used to be a fully vegetarian restaurant, we were surprised to find that it is no longer. There's still a good vegetarian selection, just quite a bit with meat now. It's too bad - it was nice to have a fully vegetarian Indian restaurant with excellent food.
We also experienced a strange service experience - we sat for a while not being able to even order, because we were informed the kitchen had too many delivery orders in queue. I've never heard of this before anywhere. We just found it strange that we couldn't even get in the queue with our dine-in order... not even an appetizer to start. But once we ordered, the food came out fairly quickly, fresh and piping hot. The service was otherwise attentive and with some nice humor.
Rupayan Basu
I’m from Calcutta, India, and I had the best goat biryani in the US at this place. All the other dishes were great too.
Nikos M
New find in Jackson Heights. Great restaurant, authentic food. Made in house paneer beats any I have ever tasted. Perfectly seasoned and cheap lamb chops. Overall great experience with a really friendly owner and staff. Don’t forget to bring your wine if you like your BYOB locations
Lauren Blackwell
My brother and I were starving after a long bike ride and Angel's did not disappoint! Steaming bowls of rice, creamy smooth curries and bursts of flavor came to our rescue to leave our mouths dancing and tummies full. Staff is exceptional and gave helpful recommendations. Highly recommend!
