Reviews of The Galley Seafood

Second time here, I HAD to come back. First time was years ago, my first time in New Orleans. This place is great! Food was soo good. Staff was super friendly and our server, Jacob, was on point. We were greeted upon entering and seated right away, on a Friday too (usually much busier). I highly recommend coming to check this place out!

Summary:
Great place to stop for a bite if your near. Seemed like an old neighborhood restaurant where you get a bunch of regulars, with some new comers.
Good to experience the southern cuisine in its fullest flavors.
More detailed review -
Location:
Located in the heart of Metairie, surrounded by residential homes and some business buildings. Great looking neighbor.
Restaurant:
Very straight forward building design, and easy entrance access. They have patio seating for the warmer months of the year. Clean place, well kept up. And my favorite was the atmosphere, it gives off an old traditional seafood restaurant.
Staff & service:
Friendly and attentive. I was greeted right as I walked in. They seemed very genuine with everyone they interacted with. Definitely not lacking any customer service values. They also held small conversations with the local customers. Truly makes you feel welcomed.
Food:
I enjoyed everything I ordered. Menu was straight forward and fairly priced. Didn’t wait too long in between my dishes.
It was also my first time having craw fish, and it was absolute delicious. They sell it by then lbs separate from the menu.
I recommend, and will come again.

Great services, the guy was very attentive. Beers where on point. The only reason that I gave it a 4 star was because the food was cold. Didn’t feel fresh, the bread was also cold. Overall it was okay.

Always Always delicious!! A wonderful neighborhood seafood place .... that the locals love! You must stop there during crawfish season...and everyday in between! We enjoyed the gumbo, the Red Beans and Rice and eggplant strips! We've never been disappointed in any dish that we've ordered from there. The guys who work there, have been there for years! A good sign of a good family restaurant! They are all so fun and friendly! The service is also fast and on point! This Denver visitor has been there several times with local friends...and it's always the best!

Always great food and service. Best fried catfish in LA hands down. Yes, I've had that famous one with thin cuts many times. This is the best. Recommend the sauteed crab claws as well.

Based in Old Metaire this restaurant provides a cozy atmosphere for family and friends. Service was wonderful and the seafood was second to none. I enjoyed the red beans and rice with a piece of fried catfish that instantly melts in your mouth. Will definitely be back.

This is my go-to place for crawfish. Hands down the BEST quality product every time. Size, flavor, and heat are always on point. They have a 30 year boil recipe... need I say more?
You will pay more here than other places - be prepared, but also know that you will be happy to do so and you will come back again and again.
They offer many other awesome dishes, snow crab legs are boiled in the same water and are also amazing.
Fried food is great! Pro-tip: try the white beans and corn bread

Quaint seafood restaurant with gourmet meals. Yes, they are on the more expensive side, but the food was delicious and filling. Service was very good. Waitress came by several times to make sure we had everything we needed. Overall, a great experience.

I really don't leave that many reviews for places but I had to leave one here- this is some of the best food I have ever had, truly. I got the fried catfish with red beans and rice and it is AMAZING! It was perfectly seasoned and even on the second day after I heated up for my lunch, it still tastes almost just as good. My friends got the dish with crawfish monica sauce (amazing), the gumbo (perfectly seasoned) and a crab leg po boy (perfect portion and delicious) and we also got 4 appetizers- the fried duck strips, crawfish pies, fried stuffed peppers, and 1 other I forgot. The crawfish pies left a bit to be desired but were still good (the crema was so good), and our favorite was the duck strips. Everything was just so great, and the staff was amazing as well. Our server (forgot her name but she has dark hair and wore a black printed long sleeve shirt with moon and stars on it) was so kind and helpful and we just loved the atmosphere. Please make sure you make this a stop when you're out!
