Reviews of Streetcar Cafe

An outstanding "hole in the wall" restaurant with an attention to flair and plating. The breakfast options include some unique / unusual recipes that are outstanding and the atmosphere is cozy. The biscuits and gravy were amazing - I think we finally know what they are supposed to taste like (sorry Cracker Barrel). There was a wait when we visited, but it was well worth it.
Pamela Shaw
This place was absolutely amazing! The food was delicious. It came out in a timely fashion, hot, and seasoned to perfection. There was no wait time and the service was great. If you want to dip off from the crowd and experience a great food, there's more than seafood, It's a must visit!
Olivia Quinn
Great hole in the wall restaurant! I stopped here last minute for a quick dinner on my way to a special event, and I’m glad I did! I got the Seafood Pasta and the King Cake Martini. Both were delicious and it was the perfect amount of food! The wait staff were quiet, but very nice, and it was an enjoyable, quick experience. Would for sure stop here again when I visit NOLA!

Came here on a Monday afternoon for a quick bite since it was close to our hotel. It is a bit pricey. We paid $43 for all that’s pictured. My boyfriend asked if he could get half fish/ half shrimp since he wasn’t going to eat all that food and both plates are $19. Server said no and told us to order platter which was $25 for even more food. Lol doesn’t make sense. Food was quick and it was yummy. They get a 4 because server never checked on us once or offered any refills after dropping our food.

Showed up at 11am for brunch and didn't get in and seated until 1pm, breakfast menu was over and they switched to the lunch menu. Do yourself a favor and avoid any of their pasta dishes, it is the most bland food I had on my entire trip. Service was subpar, expect to ask your server for refills on water. Expect to wait 1+ hours if you don't have a reservation on a Saturday morning. They are not equipped to seat parties larger than 4, so you will be waiting for several parties to leave before you can be seated. Also do yourself a favor and put your name on the waiting list next door... I didn't eat there but it CAN'T be worse than this place and the lines moved faster.

For a small restaurant this place has an outstanding Southern-style menu & their meals never miss the spot. Their bar also offers a great variety of gourmet coffees. Their diverse staff were always friendly & professional. I highly recommend this restaurant when you're in the area.
Ricardo Jenks
Great coffee!
It was close to the Intercontinental hotel so I stopped here for coffee various times of the day.
I also enjoyed some of their breakfast plates like their Traditional Benedict.
Their staff is really friendly and makes this establisment all the more inviting to visit.

Ate supper at The Street Car Cafe in New Orleans. A cozy little cafe with excellent food and excellent service.
I ordered the blackened redfish with potato salad, greens, and cream of mushroom soup. The fish was soft, flavorful, and most importantly fresh. The cream of mushroom soup was possibly the best I have had. As it was heavy on the mushrooms and the cream was thick and full of flavor. Definitely better than anything you can buy in a can. The potato salad was also quite good. Not the best I have ever had, but definitely better than store bought. In the end I was very satisfied with my meal.
My buddy Dave had the Taste Of New Orleans, which was a sampler platter that looked delicious. Someone else in our group ordered deep fried shrimp. I tried one of their deep fried shrimp and it was awesome! You can tell that the shrimp is fresh down here in New Orleans. The shrimp is very soft, and packed full of flavor. The shrimp up north simply cannot compare!
Dan Ramunda
I ate at the bar at the cafe on Friday night and got a New Orleans sampler because I couldn’t decide. It had red beans and rice, gumbo, and jambalaya and an amazing biscuit. All three were delicious! Mayron the bartender (and manager) kept me company and made it a really nice evening. So much so I went back Sunday for breakfast! I had biscuits and gravy and pancakes. Both were amazing! And the Bloody Mary that Paulette made for me was perfect! The Streetcar Cafe has a really nice vibe and everyone there was really friendly. Highly recommend it!
Jennie Zeng
The food is pretty overrated. The shrimp and grit doesn’t have enough flavor. The beignet is very inconsistent, 2 out of the 3 we got is not fluffy enough.
Judy Keller
We went here for a late dinner. Had a creole penne pasta which was amazing and a rather large portion. Cocktails were good. Surprised when we went later in the evening there weren't very many people there however it wasn't because of the food think we just got lucky.

Being in New Orleans it's a amazing places to visit and also great places to eat in the city. Our experience eat well in good restaurants well know from eating well know restaurants and also hole in the wall or hidden gem restaurants what we can find. We enjoy breakfast very much we wake up early in the morning to beat the wait in line. I found this cafe on Yelp on St.Charles called Streetcar Cafe it's next another cafe called Daisey Dukes cafe.
We decided to go to Streetcar Cafe for breakfast when we it was packed and waited for a table. Our table was ready and we went in the restaurant and the host hand us the menu and we look. My wife order the bacon, egg, house potatoes and biscuits plates then I order the hot Cajun sausage omettle with house potatoes and wheat toasts and a order of beignets. The restaurant is small and it get pack and people waiting outside. They brought our meal it looks so good including the beignets. I took a bite of my hot Cajun sausage omettle was amazing good so much flavors and house potatoes were really good crispy my wife love her meal. We enjoy the beignets very crispy
L R
I think this may be one of those places where you have to know what everyone else typically orders.
The French toast wasn't bad but it wasn't memorable.
Someone else had the biscuits and gravy and thought that the pink meat was hotdogs. I'm sure it was like ham or something but definitely not what we're used to seeing.
They had smaller beignets that were great serving size for a group of 4.
Trevar Scott
We stayed at the Hilton across the street and found this little place one morning. Although the cafe may be small, that taste was huge! We went for breakfast and had French toast and bacon and a delicious latte. It was so good that we went back for coffee and beignet the same evening, which were amazing. I'm saving Streetcar on my maps for future visits, and you should too!!
Lauren Ford
Got here around 8:30 on a Sunday morning with a group of four and was sat immediately. Ordered french toast, the southern breakfast, and an order of beignets and everything was incredible. Tea and coffee were good, too. Busy but they were quick with getting people in and out.
Jamey Gorman
Delicious. On my short trip I went back twice. First time I ordered the shrimp and grits, second visit I ordered red beans and rice with fried oysters. Will definitely try to visit next time I’m in town.
Bianca Hannah
Me and my buddies enjoyed their food so much that we visited before our cruise and after. We left satisfied each time
Ry Be
Right now in a recession with crazy inflation (thanks Brandon), there’s nothing we can do about the prices, but hot damn thank goodness they’re pumping out high quality food & coffee at the Streetcar Cafe!!
The Shoyster Po-Boy was amazingly good, it had so many fried oysters & shrimps that I had to eat a good 4 or 5 of each before I could even attempt to pickup that behemoth of a sandwich! The high end/cost coffee mugs are a good sign that they know what they’re doing with their americano’s & other coffee bar drinks! They even had heavy whipping cream when I requested it for my coffee, most places look at you incredulously & ask why you don’t want their oat milk lol
Great spot, breakfast served until 2pm. On my first visit I ordered 2 eggs a la carte w/bacon & it was a good 4 strips of thick cut bacon with eggs perfectly prepared as ordered!
I don’t know when I’ll be back, but I’m glad I found it on my first morning back in NoLa.
Philip Ferrari
We enjoyed a Good breakfast at the Streetcar Cafe. I enjoyed my veggie omelette, potatoes and biscuit, and my wife said her eggs were perfectly cooked. Nothing too fancy, but tasty! Service was quick and friendly.
jd cantrell
Stumbled upon this place and stopped in for a quick bite. Waitress was great, very attentive. Food was delicious but I wish there was more of it. That’s my only complaint. Fried oysters were amaze and I would totally go back.
Leonard Rosenfield
Cozy little spot, busy but still you don't feel rushed. Especially since it took about an hour to get our food! (which worked out fine since a downpour started and ended while we were still inside the place!). The gator bites were good, the beans and rice were OK, the fried platter was plentiful and good and the jambalaya was OK.
Stephen
Lovely Cafe. No tourists. Great service and a very welcoming atmosphere. Get the blackened reddish, it's delicious! Breakfast menu ends at 2pm but I will try it next time!
Björn Barz
The best breakfast I had during my one week long stay in New Orleans!
The staff is also really friendly and the overall atmosphere is very nice.
Drena G (Noir)
I stumbled across this Nola gem and ate here everyday during my trip to New Orleans. They’re usually busy but they move fast… for the most part.
The food great.. (if they don’t ruin your order) the drinks are awesome and it won’t break your pockets. They have a decent menu for everyone to find something to eat..
My only downside is sidewalk seating may or may not be located by the trash.
Makena Madden
10/10 place! The owner is amazing. We came for the final four. It was super busy and the owner was so calm and collected the whole time. The gumbo, beignets, and Cajun pasta was amazing! Will be coming back here next time!
Deonca Jeffers
The food was hot and fresh! Great service and the play list was awesome!! Definitely will recommend 👌🏽
Will Fraser
Very welcoming, tasty, and kind. Portions seemed appropriately sized for us human folk, and the menu was focused and inviting. Ultimately it hit harder in the wallet than I would have liked for the taste, but I wouldn’t steer clear on this account. The potato salad was tasty and the gumbo was appetizing.
Dave McGowan
Fried Shrimp perfect, jambalaya and gumbo very good!!! A little slow and a little expensive, but well worth it! Service friendly, decor okay. Recommended!!!
Jgft Teabout
Pitcher mimosas and happy hour deals, Patio seating and nice cozy dining. Authentic cajun food and excellent service!
Kariss McNeal
Really enjoyed the food here. The standout dish for our table was the Red Beans and Rice. Everything everyone in my dinner party ordered was really good, actually. Service was very fast and portion sizes were a good value for your money. We walked in and were seated immediately. Only thing I’d say to be aware of was there is no splitting of the check (we learned at the end of our meal), so everyone will have to have to send money to one person via a p2p like Cash App, and that person will have to pay, unless y’all have the cash for your portion of the total bill. Otherwise, this place was great.
Stephen “Bigdawg SBL” Lennon
Had brunch chicken gumbo ,red beans and rice and gator bites..was awesome from the service to the food..will be returning..Margie was a awesome and funny.. keep up the good work
Mary Work
We tried some fancy restaurants in New Orleans, but preferred this cozy cafe. Comfortable atmosphere, great breakfasts and friendly staff. We finally figured out that we should split a breakfast by the third day as portions are huge so half is perfect
Hanan Hamad
I overall had a wonderful breakfast. The Beignets were delicious and the Chai Latte was good !!
Jordan Z
i had red beans and rice, my bf had the cajun penne pasta. i enjoyed my meal! would definitely go back for that. price point was also fair. only thing that was a little upsetting was the hot chocolate tasted very watered down.
Gertrude Jean Pierre
Waitress is professional and nice. Beneigh were great, bread was not too sweet and dough was slightly crunchy in the corners
Jurgen Osing
Very low key restaurant but definitely great for the food. Blackened red fish is delish! And finally something with fresh veg and no deep fat frier in sight
Michelle D'Antonio
Fantastic service and food. Our party had alligator, breakfast food, shrimp po boy and a burger. Large servings and decent price.
Julie
We tried this delightful cafe on our second morning. We ordered pancakes and omelets and mimosas. The waitress was super friendly and the owners were just as hard working as the staff. Truly enjoyed this quaint place. We will definitely be back on our next NOLA trip.
Chimaobi Amutah
Great breakfast. Beignets were hot and freshly made and chai latte was perfectly sweet and creamy. Or course, one must dip the beignets in the hot beverage. Do it! Good service too.
Dana Purnia
Conveniently located, a few feet from The Intercontinental hotel. We stopped in around 9 pm after a long day of travel and walking the French Qtr for site seeing. The employees were friendly &prompt. We had a bacon cheese burger & fries & honestly they were so good, perfectly cooked & decently priced. We were also impressed with the cleanliness of the establishment. We made this our last stop for breakfast the morning we left. I had a delicious Southwest breakfast, the two with me had an omelet and the other Eggs Benedict & both were just as satisfied. Definitely worth stopping here!
Diana O.
Food is delicious! Stopped by because every other place had long lines and we were starving. Weren't sure what to expect but the food was amazing. There were only two servers so it was extremely hectic, but the food was brought out quick. The beignets were soft and fluffy and the omelets delicious and filled with so much seafood, we ordered three seafood omelets! The hash browns are more of breakfast potatoes but very yummy. Definitely recommend. However if you are looking for authentic gumbo or the like, this may not be the restaurant. If you want a quaint little place with yummy food then this is a must-try!
Kristin
Good food at a good price. The staff was friendly. They re-made my daughter’s Latte 3 times trying to make it to her liking. They were kind. The Eggs Benedict and French toast were good. It’s not a fancy place.
Brian Nevinger
My first time in New Orleans and my first meal here did not disappoint. We had beignets (my wife loves them, a little sweet for me) which were delicious. I had my first po-boy, fried alligator, man that was really really good. If the rest of the food here is as good as this I’m in for a really really good eat-cation!
Shawn D
Went here for breakfast. Food was good although a little pricey, but we are in a city so I guess that's standard.
Jill Ransome
I searched breakfast places and Streetcar cafe was one of my options. I came here on Thursday, it was clean and lovely dining area and bar with several options of coffee(I tried the Pumpkin pie latte) alcohol and menu items. I tried the brioche French toast and all of it was so good, So good I an here again o. Friday!! The staff is friendly and amazing as well
Atashia Gipson
OMMFG!!!! This place is the best… let me tell you about these biscuits. They’re Great! We set at the bar and Paulette was Awesome.
Dallas Anderson
Service was very friendly at the bar! Iced latte was very good! Breakfast was pretty good, and came out quickly! Nothing too special on the menu but a solid option worth returning to.
jim morrison
I loved my food and this place did not disappoint!!!!! Everything was amazingly good and Paulette was awesome!!!!! I would recommend everyone go here.
Franny Miller
Our favorite breakfast eatery by far near the French Quarter. I was worried due to some of the reviews, but I worried for nothing. The atmosphere and service was great too. My BF had the Cajun sausage omelette and potatoes. I had the French toast. We will be returning tomorrow for breakfast before we leave for back home in Indiana.
Zachariah Fitzwater
Went in to grab a Po Boy because…..well it’s NOLA and you have to eat a Po Boy at least once a visit. Asked for a shrimp poboy and they ended up giving me a fried fish one. I was staying literally across the street and contemplated taking it back but figured I’d give it a shot. And am I glad glad I did. The fish was amazing. The pickles just made the sandwich. Bread was soft. This Po Boy was the best I’ve had in a long time. Please give them a shot.
Alfredo García González
A quiet little restaurant in downtown New Orleans. Away from the bustle of Bourbon Street, but only an 8-minute walk from this street. Friendly waiters and delicious food!! One of the best seafood penne pasta I have ever eaten!!
Philip H
Initial visit here. Dined at the bar. Gumbo was excellent but the Jambalaya was dry and lacking flavor. The bartender that served us was super friendly and great with the drinks.
Bren Cain
The food is delicious! Drinks were so good! Strawberry margaritas! The server was very rude. She was the only rude employee that I encountered at this establishment. The greeter outside was very knowledgeable about the menu. And was able to help us when our server wasn't willing to. Bartender was great as well!
L T
Gumbo is fabulous, biscuits are some of the best I’ve had, and the kale salad is amazing with grilled shrimp.
Great place for takeout! They’re efficient, friendly, thorough with the order!
Sara A.
Amazing veggie omelet and biscuits. The chocolate chip pancake was also perfect. Quick service along with reasonable prices. Great find in the French quarter.
Juan Torres
Amazing food. Huge portions. My wife recommends the crab cake eggs Benedict. Pancakes were huge and fluffy. Cool atomosphere inside.
Haley Grayson
Delicious!! 10/10 would eat here again, this picture is where we sat outside and how cool it was to see the streetcar go by.
N Erickson
Customer service was very good. Order was taken quickly. Atmosphere was unique and inviting. Food was delicious and hot. Will come back again.
Shayna Collins
Food here was great, tried both breakfast and dinner - shrimp/crawfish omelet amazing....Seafood pasta also did not disappoint. Service was good as well, great spot to grab food at anytime of day!
Neil Stevenson
The best food we had in New Orleans! Great service, delicious food, reasonable prices and a comfortable atmosphere. We are so happy that we found Streetcar Cafe!!!
Greg Schlitt
This place was right across the street from our hotel. We ate there for breakfast our 3rd day and the food was very good! The hash browns/potatoes were great! Crispy outside, soft and tender inside... and the Beignets! The best we had all week (from 4 different places including the famed Cafe Du Monde). This would have been a 5 star review if not for the rouge rat that scurried around the dining room. The owner did move quickly to apologize and rid the area of the dying rodent and I understand from locals that it's pretty common but we ate at many restaurants and never saw one so. But we did order take out from there 2 more times afterwards because the food was worth it.
Sherry Huffman
Yummy beignets! I went looking for a cozy Cafe and found this little gem. The manager, Natalia, is making sure all employees and patrons are safe from Covid-19 by sanitizing, wearing masks, and following the CDC recommendations. Enjoy!
Ian Tiele
Nice restaurant located about 5 minutes from the French Quarter. Decent prices for good quality New Orleans style food.
Melissa Maxey
Food was mediocre, service was slow. Only a few other tables in the restaurant but we had empty cups for quite some time waiting on refills and had to wait a while for the check. Husband had the southern breakfast (not pictured) and a side of biscuits and gravy.
Don Wood
Staying next door at the Intercontinental. This joint has good food cheap (er) and quick service. Will try to visit again when I'm back in New Orleans.
Isaque Silva Roque
Great cafe! The food was good and overall I liked the environment. Definitely coming back again!
Lillian Denbo
I’m a visitor from Columbus Ohio and if I could give this place 15 stars I would excellent service, delicious seafood and the best first experience tasting gumbo thank you so much!
Eugene Ignatov
Very delicious. I’ve had an omelette and red beans and next day red beans and rice.
Red beans and rice not even on a pictures cause it was so good and I ate it really quick.
Server Judith is funny! “Thank you for your coming”(c) Judith
Brittani B.
My first time visiting the NO, I usually don’t eat breakfast but this place made me reconsider! I ordered the seafood omelette with grits and it was soooo delicious 🤤 this is definitely my go to place for breakfast when I visit again! Thank you for the awesome omelette …
Derrick Scott
Great restaurant. Not busy and food came out fast. No far from canal or bourbon street. Shrimp Po Boy was amazing!
Emilie Lawrence
Food and staff are phenomenal. They have staff who have recently moved from Ukraine which I think is really awesome given the events in the world right now. Go Streetcar!!
Tom Kixmiller
It was busy suggesting a good place and the hotel suggeated it. It was not so busy for...Almost left after we had to ask for menus after 5 minutes and then waited another 10 minutes before a server even acknowledged us. After another 5 min. for them to return we ordered shrimp and grits which took less time to have on the table than it took to order to begin with. Food was decent...admittedly that was first time I've had shrimp and grits.
Shelbi Middleton
I had cajun pasta, hubby had N.O. trio... beignets for dessert. All delicious and fast service!!
Tersha “NC Foodie”
The food is delicious. I had the shrimp platter. The fries were hot and crispy and seasoned well. The shrimp was cooked to perfection. I don't suggest getting the lemonade. There are plenty other options to drink.
Jeanne Lugli
Great dinner out with a colleague. We could not have picked a better place. Neither of us like chain restaurants and this gave us the NOLA taste we were seeking. The icing on the cake was the owners help in getting us WIFI to call an UBER. Let’s just say he went way above and beyond and he made me laugh harder than I have in a VERY long time. Your friend from Boston would come again in a heartbeat. Thank you
Peggy Scherer
I had an amazing Po'Boy at this place, loved the sauce and liked the very good service. I'm in town, I will come again.
Maida Salkanovic
Everything was absolutely delicious, especially the beignets. The service was also above and beyond.
Mike Caldwell
Another good breakfast place in New Orleans.
Good food and fast service
Paul Neyman
Excellent breakfast spot! Staff was super friendly and both good coffee and adult beverages.
Roy van den Heuvel
Good food, nice service, felt welcome. Would recommend it to everyone who just wants to lunch or dine without a lot of of fuss.
Kara Chalmers
Great food! Little to no wait. Food was out so fast and super hot. Great omlettes and grits. Large portions. I was sad I couldn't finish it all.
Latosha Giles
Food was mediocre. AC was out it seemed and water dripped down on my hubby at the table from the vents overhead. He had to move his seat to stay dry. I enjoyed the mimosas though.
Nancy
Stayed in the hotel next door. Got coffee and breakfast. Cajon omelette was delicious! Jambalaya was delicious. The grits were delicious and coffee too! Great little place. Definitely would return if ever in NOLA!
Courtney Potter
We enjoyed the food here, but there wasn’t anything particularly spectacular about it. Nothing was bad, but nothing was rave worthy either. If you’re in the area I’d check in out, but I wouldn’t go out of my way to eat here
Larry Reviews
The service was friendly and the drinks are good. Lita did a great job keeping up with guests. The food was good and came out relatively fast.
Sandra Balogun
I really appreciate when an establishment treats their patrons like welcomed guests. This place is quaint and the food is well prepared and delicious!
Jon Sattler
Solid place for breakfast or brunch. Everything was great quality, filling, and was pretty fairly priced.
Christopher Miller
They are right by the hotel I was staying in and I needed beignets. I ordered six and ate them all. They were perfect. I'll probably eat more from here since I can't stop myself.
Lisa Donald
A staff person at our hotel directed us to the cafe and we were not disappointed. I had the blackened chicken with a mushroom sauce, husband had the red beans and rice, MIL had the shrimp Po'boy. All excellent.
Dana Kipp
There aren't enough words to describe this experience! We walked in tired, thirsty and hot! We left happy, full and planning our next meal!
Harvey Schonfeld
Good food and service. We shared a fish platter and side salad.
vickie shaw
The food and service were excellent. We had breakfast. It was delivered quickly and was hot and delicious.
Devra Brusso (Lashing)
Massive amount of food! Nice charm to the place. Service was good. Good start to the day breakfast.
Nate Maudsley
Had a wonderful breakfast here 3 years ago. Was a little disappointed they no longer had orange zested butter or cinnamon strawberry jam.
Jimmy Siermine
Delicious! Wow! Fantastic beignets
Jennifer Robinson
The food was more than expected, the jambalaya was simply delicious. It's a small place with huge flavors.
K Kennedy
I had the Crispy Country Omelet (omlette) with some tea & I didn't leave hungry. Casual atmosphere & prompt service.
Michael Jones
Came in and it was not that many people in there. Food came out hot however the waitress never came back to check on us for refills and had to call her over to get the check and togo boxes.
Andrea Black
EXCEPTIONAL SERVICE and GREAT FOOD! We went for bottomless mimosas during Tropical Storm Barry, owners met us outside to help us in. From the moment we entered the door it was a very friendly place. Judith was our server and she went above and beyond for our group. Everyone tried something different and there we NO COMPLAINTS! Please stop by and enjoy the atmosphere and good food!
Kristin Russo
We stopped in this diner on our last morning spent in NOLA. Had the Cajun omelette and French toast. The service was warm and accommodating. They were quick to get us drinks and even offered to refill a coffee to go cup for us after paying our bill. The food was delicious and they also had beignets which was an added bonus since the other cafe had a line down the street! We took ours to go!
Oh Hi
I am in love at first visit with Streetcar Cafe's delicious food and wonderful atmosphere. Staff were some of the kindest I had ever spoken to, the restaurant itself was beautiful, and the meal was great! I ordered the veggie pasta and the butterfly pea latte. It was great! 5 stars.
Dave Bretheim
Started as a saving grace - the only place to go when everyone else stopped serving an hour before closing, or couldn't figure out if they had tables open. I don't know who the owner is, but he smiles - a lot - and is happy to set up a table for you. This will now be a regular visit when in New Orleans. Gumbo was good, cajun pasta fantastic! And trust me - you want the chocolate cake.
Matt Tarwater
The butter pecan late is fantastic, the red beans and rice was wonderful, the fries were amazing, and the fried shrimp platter hit the spot.
We had stopped in here for food during the parades and even though they were packed the entire staff was friendly, accommodating, pleasant, helpful and all around wonderful.
Highly recommend.
Amy Eldridge
Really amazing gumbo and potato salad! Reasonable prices too, I didn't feel like I was being tourist trapped lol
Dray Etienne
BBQ shrim and grits is literally the best dish. The service was amazing and the wait for food was short. Definitely gotta hit this place if you come
lostprairiedog
Delicious food, and we had planned on going to Daisy Dukes but they were "closed" at 3 in the afternoon. Oh well, their loss. Anyway, had a terrific Cajun omelet with bacon on the side. My wife and her friend's food were great as well. Oh and the fountain Coke rivals McDonald's!
Daniel Riley
Excellent food, difficult service that worked our. There were 4 hungry refugees from an all day airport experience seeking lunch/dinner who were turned away from 3 other establishments nearby. We went into Streetcar. Difficult to understand hostess who eventually got us a table. Got our wait person's attention and received drinks. Seafood combo, taste of Nola, crabcakes, and shrimp dinners were ordered. All were overly generous and delicious.
Dawn Hunsberger
Delicious Kale Salad and honey mustard dressing. All fantastic and super take out service!
Ken Ellison
Overpriced. Tries to be fancier than it is. Our food was decent - nothing to write home about.
Maggie York
While on a short visit to NOLA the Streetcar Cafe was on walking distance. Small place but huge food portions.
Inyt Tyni
The food was great and displayed very nicely. There are many great menu options. The food was out within 10 minutes, great service. Would definitely come back to eat again.
Donna Vela
Gumbo was very tasty. Light fluffy beignets and Irish coffee yum. Bartender was great
Lucas Johnson
Very nice small restaurant setting. Prices were reasonable. The grits, pancakes and waffles were fantastic. Coffee was good too. Servers were all very nice! Highly recommend if you're looking for a good breakfast!

We stopped by randomly on a Wednesday morning and were so impressed with the hostess Natalia. She was everywhere, preparing tables and seating guests, and she did it all with a pleasant and professional attitude. The food was decent as well, though we arrived too late to try the beignets. I would definitely try again. Thanks for the hospitality.
Zach Holly
Breakfast was pretty good but not amazing. Had the Cajun omelet and then another time po'boy for lunch. Both were just alright. I've heard I should have had the biscuits and gravy. The Beignets are the reason to go to this place and they are WELL worth it. I would go back for those.
Ann&Dave Greenwood
This was my 1st time here. The Crab Cake Benny was delicious! Friendly staff, great service.
Spencer McMahan
Our first time in New Orleans! And this wonderful cafe has is hooked from the beignets to the shrimp and grits it's all amazing. As flavors from all over hit your mouth your will feel amazing comfort knowing that you chose the Streetcar Cafe.
Renee R
1st time to eat here. Everything was hot & fresh!! Definitely will go back next time we're in town
J A
I stayed at a hotel nearby for 5 days. I can't eat cajun or creole food and have to watch my sodium. I ate several times at the Streetcar Cafe. Staff was always very friendly and the food was great. I loved that I could eat breakfast anytime.
Dan Anthony
This was a nice café not too far from our hotel which we looked up and saw it had pretty decent reviews. Went there and were seated right away which was good. Coffee was good which is a plus for us at it sets our mood. The food was also good and I enjoyed it.
tomlaura222
Perfect seasoning and lightly fried shrimp Po boy and light version of gumbo perfect for lunch
Best food so far in NOLA
Emma Steffenhagen
The food was good but we waited a very long time for it to arrive. Large filling portions and exactly what was described in the menu. It took awhile for us to get a waitresses attention to get a check or water refill but she was nice. Wouldn’t recommend if you’re on a schedule.
Beth Strickland
Great food. Excellent beignets!!! Perfect service. Gave it a 4 because the inside was pretty bleak. Our table had a nasty rag under it soaking up water.
Trevor Van Male
The owner is the hardest working dude in NOLA. And super nice and accomidating.
Good food, great friendly staff, very reasonable prices.open early till late.
Our first experience was ordering beignets at 10:00 pm to take back to our hotel for morning, they were amazing btw.
Clint Middleton
Had the "Taste of New Orleans" fantastic! Red beans and rice such a great smoky flavor.
LaCrisha Harden
This was our first time. The food was good. The food was hot. The staff friendly.
Cecilia Pell Richards
Very nice place. Excellent food and service. I was looking for a place to have breakfast but it's kind of hard to find one. We went to IHOP 2 days ago and everything was terrible there (bad service and disposable utensils and cups) and more expensive than here. We came here 2 days in a row and loved it.
Jim Burke
Food was great, reasonably priced, and next door to the Hilton. Will definitely be back
Monique Jackson
Wait staff and customer service great. Food less to be desired to be a restaurant in New Orleans. Ordered the seafood omelet and it taste like they used previously cooked shrimp. It also had no flavor.
Jennifer Duffey
Cozy place to chat with friends and enjoy a great meal. Great food. Friendly staff. The omelet I ordered was huge and delicious. Plenty of ang for the buck! Highly recommend.
Antretta Price
I forgot to take photos 🥴. However, the food was excellent. We all, my family, enjoyed our meal 😋! My husband and son had the fried seafood platter and I had the seafood pasta. Portion sizes were really nice 👌! When I go back to New Orleans, I will definitely be going back to this spot. Be forewarned, this eatery closes at 3pm
XP Liu
Ordered Seafood omelets. It was just ok. The brit is good though.
Pozitively Dee
I had the crab cake Benedict very very good
Quentin Kimber
Stopped here for breakfast. Food was good. Service was great. Good place for breakfast!!!
Ali Z
Amazing brunch and food, excellent friendly staff.
Janet Smith
My husband and I went for breakfast and were so glad we did. The food was amazing. We had blueberry pancakes, waffles, eggs, hash browns, bacon, mimosas, and coffee. Every. Single. Thing. Was amazing! We will definitely be back. The atmosphere was cool, super convenient location, and the staff were all super friendly. Everything was clean and all the staff wore masks the entire time. Our waitress Meryon was super kind and very knowledgeable. So glad we tried this place out. I can’t wait to bring our super picky kids next time.
Benjamin A. Ochoa
Had the crab cakes, beignets, and shrimp poboy. All delicious. Our server was excellent. All the staff deserves a big raise! Wonderful 👍 …
Tiffany Parrish
Restaurant was warm and uncomfortable.
Food is pretty basic.
Beignets were good. Vietnamese coffee was delicious.
Jackielee Smith
Was walking by and stopped by and tried the jambalaya. The food was excellent and the service fast and friendly.
Marsha Lose
Best poboy in the neighborhood! Friendly, clean, delicious. Thanks.
Collin Heine
Great service, good food. Coffee was a bit bitter, but overall good experience.
Sajjana Atmakuri
Beignets were better than Café Du Monde/Café Beignet ANY DAY. I loved this cozy little café!!
Deepak
Good restaurant located in St.Charles Ave. Has vegan and non-veg options. Chicken wings are good here. Has outdoor seating option as well.
Weekends and long holidays are crowded and would suggest to avoid arriving in car due to limited parking space here.
This can be reached by cab or by walk from the downtown. Closes by 10pm

jenai feurtado
This place is super cute. The breakfast is delicious and the bottomless mimosas were great
Kyrylo Butenko
The best breakfast in town! Friendly and caring stuff. We were very amazed by beignets. They are truly the best!
My husband is very picky with places we eat but Streetcar exceed our expectations! Natalia is the best manager! Cant wait to come back!
rubbie romero
Sooo good! Shrimp and grits are my new obsession. Very welcoming space too. Pancakes were nice and sweet almost like a cake. Definitely recommend
Joe Lucas
I ate at street car and daisy dukes ( they are next to each other. Street Car cafe was sooo mush better
Sierra Callins
Staff is a little rude and breakfast is not all day. Otherwise this place is amazing, beignets are perfect and the crab Alfredo pasta is very good as well. Really you cannot go wrong for breakfast or dinner. Very cute place.
Josephine Marcus
So here you find an interesting breakfast. It’s a mixture of good and bad. The Beignets were excellent and could be a meal in and of themselves. But the biscuits and sausage gravy left a lot to be desired. The biscuits are not all that tasty and the sausage gravy was to watery, through the andouille sausage was a nice touch. This side of crispy bacon was good and cooked correctly.
The service was good and the ambience was pleasant but the table was uneven and kept rocking during eating. The price tag for the quality of the food was too high.
Theresa Bell
Black drip coffee hit the spot.
Crunchy Omelet and Cajun omlets were good. Ingredinets were properly distributed. Got all ingredients on every bite.
Biscuits are Country style.
Biscuits and gravy have a kilbolsa type Cajun sausage white gravy. Very good, just not typical breakfast sausage gravy.
monica Mari
We ate here 3/3 days we were in New Orleans and it was amazing every time. Service, atmosphere, cleanliness and food exceeded all expectations. We will definitely come back on our next visit to NOLA. Every single thing we tried was delicious, fresh and hot. Cannot reccomend this restaurant enough!!!
Karenna B
We had a lovely time in this one of a kind coffee shop! Coffee ☕️ was great and staff were cool af. Cool ambiance!
Yuri Johnson
There services are fast and its never really crowded. I ordered the crispy southern breakfast with a side of apple bacon and it was amazing.
Stephen Mays
Great spot for a quick and easy breakfast. Omelette was PACKED with veggies. Coffee was strong enough to get anybody up and going. Very affordable
Jennifer Poleon
Service was good, food was okay but wanted to try something new.
Daniela Dimas
Little cafe with delicious food with great prices. We ordered gumbo, shrimp and grits, jambalaya, crab Benedicts and omelette. Everything was just perfect. Our waitress was awesome, (I forgot her name but she’s Hungarian) so friendly and nice. Bathroom was clean. Would def come back when in town!
Ericka Catterton
Super nice employees, especially the manager , Mayron. A gem between all the hotels. Hilton and Sheraton, way better then Bourban street!!!!
Darve Smith
Good food. Nice staff. I'd go back.
Doug Shelton
We had a great breakfast at the Streetcar Cafe. There was a line and wait at the place next door, and immediate seating here. Turns out both restaurants are owned by the same people. Be smart, eat here.
Brendie K
Great little breakfast joint. The food is really good and the atmosphere is pleasant. They have nice size portions and everything was cooked well.
Leanna Beasley
Great food. Definitely need a reservation. Always busy.
adejesus97
This place is amazing! It is right next to where we are staying. It’s cute, staff was great. We tried a couple of the more “top ten places to try in NOLA” and was disappointed! This place is a gem!! I wish we had come here first! My hubs and I shared an omelette and Beignets and they were THE BEST! Will definitely come here again!!
Brad Rucker
Sausage gravy is made with kielbasa not breakfast sausage and was not hot
Leroy Robinson
I’ve been in New Orleans since Thursday, street car cafe is my best meal so far I had the Poo- boy fish it was great.
Bonnie Hughes
This place is amazing!!!! We went there on March 6, 2021 for brunch and it was well worth it. Because of Covid-19, we had to wait until they cleared a table ( the place is kinda small) but we were seated within 20 mins. I had the country omelette and I ordered some beignets. The Beignets, in my opinion, taste better than Cafe Dumonde. The Beignets were big and fluffy with a whole bunch of powdered sugar and the Omelette was cooked to perfection. I also tried my husband’s hash brown and they look like little bits of well seasoned potatoes. You have to go there! Will not be disappointed
Wesley Wilson
The food was amazing. No wait yet the quality was exceptional. The owner was the only person working but it was still a great New Orleans experience. Get the Taste of Orleans plate!!
Micah Quigley
Excellent seafood platter. They didn't skimp on shrimp. And the French fries were great too.
Melissa Butler
Delicious!!!!! Grits seasoned just right! Eggs prefect! Definitely a great vacation stop!
Michael Gallagher
Came to the French Quarter for a long weekend. Decided to try this spot for brunch because it was around the corner.
So glad we did!
Got sat right away, our waitress was pleasant and attentive without being over-bearing. Great job Paola!
Food was all made to order, and came out hot and quick. Biscuits were obviously fresh from this morning, and hash browns were crispy without being burnt.
All in all, a fantastic brunch! We will be back!
Pat & Angel OBrien
A great margarita . Much better than Luke's and 1/3rd the cost.
Janie Leach
What can I say that hasn't been said. The food is wonderful!😁 The gator.....OMG, melt in your mouth, and seasoned perfectly.😊 I wish we had found this cafe our first day instead of our last. A definite recommend!!
Demetria Huntsman
I had the delicious seafood omelette - with shrimp and crawfish and it was delicious. They serve bottomless mimosas for $12 ALL DAY! But nothing compares to the service. Friendly, responsive, I didn’t have to ask for anything. After I paid the bill, my server Mallick, brought me an additional mimosa in a to-go cup just because. Felt like I was at a good friend’s house for a meal filled with love and well wishes.
Sarah W
The food was fantastic! They are a few doors down from the hotel we stayed in. Mimosas were big and delicious and the beignets were better than cafe du monde's!!! I know shoot me! Quick, friendly service and pricing was good.
Justin Hill
Omelette and chocolate chip pancakes were awesome. A little overpriced but good food and easy access.
Samid Viveros
The best beignets in the city without the hour long wait from Cafe Du Monde. This is the best kept secret, Du Monde is a tourist trap and not worth your time when you visit NOLA. If you still want freshly made, warm beignets then come here. The perfect balance of size (they are quite big) and carefully sprinkled sugar (not to much just enough). This is a great spot for a cheap and bountiful breakfast.
Jade Edwards
Sweetest and loveliest staff and solid food! The beignets are like biscuit donuts and the country potatoes are amazing!
Ashley Barrett
In my opinion best beignets in NOLA (that I’ve had this far)! My partner stumbled upon this place and got me some beignets to go and they were amazing. Light, crisp, airy, powdered (not clumpy) sugar (it matters lol) .. we were here for a week and I was on a “beignet a day” kick from different places each time & this to me was the absolute best, I’m back home now and still thinking about them!
Jen Heim
Good specialty coffees. Food was super yummy. Easy to get to if you're staying in one of the hotels in the vecinity.
Rasheba Allen
Food taste great! I absolutely hated that we ordered 5 shrimp poboys off the happy hour menu for $9.99 and we 5 only shrimps on our poboy such a waste wasn't much to really enjoy because it was mostly bread! Bartender was great and the long island's and margaritas were wonderfully made!
Abe Thompson
The owner (Gucci) was sociable and very humble!! His servers were great as well!!!...and THE FOOD WAS GREAT!!
Trail Runner Loki's human
Absolutely wonderful staff, the food was good but the service was phenomenal!
Bill Henriques
Nice little quaint Diner down from the international hotel. Serves breakfast and lunch specials, including local favorites like red beans and rice and gumbo. The salad was very good!
Gabby Silva
Great service, food is amazing, environment was super calm and fun!
Cordelia Lee
This place was just ok. I guess my taste buds are completely different from all the reviews I read, which is why I wanted to go. Nothing taste home cooked, which was unfortunate.
Sol
Good place for breakfast good prices n portions.
Maria Krayneva
Lovely place! Great for the breakfast and lunch.
Mark Bonney
Beignets were great and gumbo was very good. Nice balance of flavors and meat to rice.
Liz P (m3rquinn)
Great place for a quick bit. Got the crab crake burger and it was okay. Could use a little spice to the crab cake, but that is just me. But great place to try some seafood on a budget.
Gerson Arroyave
I was in new orleans for 3 days and i ate breakfast here 2 of those days because it was so good. Our waitress Paola was an absolute sweetheart and very attentive with us as well as all of the staff. They have bottomless mimosas throughout the week so you dont have to wait for sunday brunch. We will be back!!
Rocio de Kment
We did not have to wait for long to get a table for 6 people and we were served very quickly. The food was very good and the service as well. Since we went during the month of October the restaurant was decorated in a Halloween theme which made it even more special.
Euricka Alugas
The staff are so nice and the food is delicious I go there especially for the pancakes and Beignets so good 😊 …
Yevette Pearce
I had coffee at the Streetcar Cafe for two mornings in a row, while attending a conference at a hotel on Canal Street. The barista made my cafe latte in just a few minutes and it was delicious! I was also impressed with the locally roasted "Hey" coffee used in my latte. The Streetcar Cafe was just a few minutes from my hotel and was a MUCH quicker and delicious option than one of the other coffee chains on Canal...where I waited 30 minutes for my coffee on the first morning in NOLA. I just wish I had more time to try their breakfast menu...it looked great!
Amanda Burdett
Fast friendly service, food was good.
Andie N
Judit, our amazing Hungarian waitress, recommended the beignets. And we were so delighted that she did! She couldn't have been nicer and the beignets were better than Cafe du Monde. Geeat little hole in the wall place with nice ambiance.
Matt BURY
We visited Sunday afternoon. Shrimp and alligator bites were delicious, server was friendly and the place was not crowded. Will be one of our go to restaurants in New Orleans .
Kai Star
Great server Fabian! Very funny and welcoming. A bit pricey though for a hole in the wall.
Greg Blackall
The prices were a bit high for the quality and portion size. It was a decent breakfast, but nothing to write home about.
Edward Pino
Great spot when visiting New Orleans! We were planning on continuing our road trip but we wanted to have a nice filling authentic breakfast. After trying out the beignets at Cafe du Monde and some gator bites and Po Boys at Mahoneys, those establishments kind of let us down in flavor. The menu items were all right but nothing to be like Wow! Amazing New Orleans cuisine, we saw great reviews to this place and we are glad that we decided to check it out!
We started off with the grilled alligator bites since Mahoneys was a disappointment but they were MUCH better here at Street car cafe, and then we decided to split a New Orleans Sampler Platter that consisted of Red Beans and Rice, Jamabalaya, Cajun Rice, and a biscuit. Everything was great!
We also sat by the window and it was nice to see the street car actually pass by every 10-15 min and have a nice view on why it's called Street Car Cafe. Service was great and we would definitely return if we are back in New Orleans again!
Caryn Sibayan
Perfectly crispy and delicious! Highly recommend!
B V
Stopped in to grab breakfast and a mimosa after my flight. Good size plate of food for the price. Definitely recommend for breakfast
Caitlin Nelson

Great menu, friendly staff. If you are looking for good Louisiana food be sure and give it a shot.
Toi
Loved it!! The potatoes crisp & flavorful & the shrimp & grits creamy & lots of shrimp.
Mitchell Vickers
Pancakes and Shoyster poboy for the win.
Deidra Thomas Richards
Such a fun find! It’s a little hole in the wall, literally, so you have to look for it. But super great food selection with delicious options. We really enjoyed the alligator appetizer and the Po-Boys.
Tony
This is a good place to go for breakfast before visiting the hustle and bustle. Really really good.
Ed S
Great place for breakfast. Gluten free options available. The staff went out of their way to ensure I would not get glutenized.
AL BOOGIE
First time here...very nice a subtle atmosphere, hot cocoa, hot fluffy beignets and great food. Definitely going back!
Dawn Mitchell
The workers were very nice and the atmosphere was just as nice. However I found the burger had odd seasoning and was way over priced. I wish I had gotten breakfast. I think it would have been better.
Val Ricciuti
Visited the Cafe on a recommendation
We experienced EXCELLENT service with Server, Judit who made us feel at home
We then enjoyed the BEST meal made with live by Louis
Please visit. And ask for Judit.
Tell her Val and Nick sent you 💕
Richard Talley
Great service, awesome food!
Birdie Trahan
Took 50 minutes to get our two omelet plates (bland, the hashbrowns were better than the omelet itself), coffee was eh, and our waitress clearly did not want to be there. Maybe just an off day?
Sandi Lester
It was a challenging night to find a restaurant but selected Streetcar Cafe. And the food was absolutely delicious, the staff was amazing!!
Bert Parham
A great stop for breakfast. Can't go wrong with the omelettes. Prepare to wait around the brunch hours.
Megan Durden

Adil Zaben
have been in new orleans for a while and have tried out multiple places that serve beignets. Out of all the places I have tried the beignets are by far the best in. NOLA. Trust me, do not bother going anywhere else they also have excellent main dishes. a must place to come when visiting NOLA.
dawn guidry
Best shrimp poboy I’m the city and great service.
ASparky91 H
Streetcar Cafe is a cute little joint. Not far from the Superdome, downtown. Right smack on St Charles Ave. Hell, take a streetcar there. The brunch is superb. Their mimosas are made with fresh squeezed oranges (but ya gotta request it). The bar tenders are rockstars. The mixed drinks are stellar, different, unique. The place is cozy. The music is typically relaxing. I've only sat at the bar, so those chairs are pleasant to sit in. Theres TVs that are usually showing some sport (who dat, go saints). Back, to the brunch. I've never been disappointed! The food is pretty on point with your liking.
Gema Martinez
Shrimps and grits BBQ are just having BBQ sauce on top. Not really a nice shrimp stew.
