The ambiance was amazing! It is especially great for date night. I loved the decor, lighting, the pizza oven, and open kitchen concept. They have a chandelier made out of cutlery and plates! How cool is that?
In terms of the food, the Kale salad was delicious! The pasta was flavourful but pricey for the portion. The pizza was mediocre. When I saw the oven, I got so excited and may have hyped myself up too much to only get disappointed.
The dessert was nicely plated which added to the appeal. It was however overly sweet and difficult to finish.
I would definitely come back for drinks and apps.

This was a great place for a nice birthday dinner. The concept is supposed to be multiple plates to share, but i found their pasta dishes large enough to be a meal by themselves if you chose. The lamb pasta and truffle risotto were both delicious! Cocktails were nice, and we ordered a dessert that was also amazing. Didn't order pizza, but they looked nice and a good size.
We arrived early (5:45) and it was fairly empty, but it filled quickly and by the time we left every table was full. Definitely recommend a reservation for dinner!

Fantastic cuisine! The Spicy pizza was out of this world with flavor and texture- it had a beautiful sweetness to it from the honey and almost tasted lemony as well! The meatballs were decent but nothing revolutionary. The pasta is everything I want from butter noddles- perfectly Al dente. Chefs kiss!

When I visit New Orleans I always look forward to visiting a few restaurants and Sofia is one of the best. A welcoming staff, great service and wonderful food awaits. Make certain to get a reservation or show up early as it is a hopping spot.
From the craft cocktails to the fine desserts is it consistently a great experience for anyone interested in fine food.
Cheers - a must visit for New Orleans visits!

The food at this restaurant was really delicious-- the focaccia was probably my favorite. It was both rich and light at the same time. We arrived around 5:30pm on a Sunday and were able to get a table for 2 without waiting. By the time we were eating, the restaurant has filled up and wait times likely were near an hour for anyone who was arriving then, so we got lucky with our timing. Our waiter was courteous, helpful, and funny. We would say "we have questions for you" and he would say "and I have answers for you".

A tiktok recommended this spot and after reading the reviews and looking at the pics I made sure to make reservations for a group of friends and I. We all got different dishes (did not get a pic of all): risotto, meatballs, spicy pizza, mushroom pizza, and alla vodka were all so so so good!! I need to come back to try the rest of the dishes. They all look so yummy. The alcoholic drinks were dangerously tasty!
Ronald Keith La Niear
The kale appetizer was fantastic! The pastas was really tasteful, and even the cocktails. Not only did we talk about the food and the drinks, but the atmosphere was energetic and smooth and hip. The music was R&B and hip hop of the 90s and 2000s. Loved it!
PS: I really liked the idea to Sofia Loren
PSS: dessert was on point

Such a cute restaurant in the warehouse district! Heard many great things about them and had to try it for myself. It did not disappoint! Our server Jordan was amazing, very attentive and sweet! For starters we had the House Ricotta with garlic focaccia, and the meatballs. Then we had the allá vodka pasta and the cacio e pepe. Had to try the pizza of course so we got the spicy and the commendatore (meat lovers). Ended the night with the brownie and salted caramel gelato. Definitely recommend this place, will be coming back!!

First time & Exquisite everything…the atmosphere, the decor, the service by Madeline was such a delight-asked for her recommendations and ordered each suggestion from each category. The food is top notch quality and taste. I suggest the kale salad-the cheese and hazelnuts compliment the treat so well. Also the carrot appetizer has a great spice and tang to it. The lamb ragú pasta has a creamy and great texture in fresh noodles…delish. The ‘Spicy’ pizza has honey and cheese that is a great combo. Dessert menu is also divine to try,
The Italian fiesta is a very nice, crisp drink.
The Zeppole (ricotta beignet dusted with cinnamon, resting over espresso mascarpone and splashes of jam)! Great job chef & staff for a phenomenal service and excellence.
Jamie Holmes
We ate at Sofia twice on the same day because the food and service was phenomenal. I highly recommend everything on the menu. Squid Ink Pasta, Mushroom Risotto, Kale Salad, Roasted Carrots, Pasta Alla Vodka, and Margherita Pizza (just to name a few) were all amazing.

I found this place on Tiktok. I did a reservation for brunch for my best friend’s 30th birthday. It’s smaller than I though it would be, so I highly recommend a reservation if you want to avoid waiting, but it is so cute inside with the queen Sofia Loren being the theme. The design feels fancy and the food was amazing. I had pancakes and they were basically like fluffy cinnamon rolls bites of heaven in your mouth. Everyone at the table got something different and we all loved it. They don’t mess around with the bottomless mimosas and their other drinks were great! It was a quick walk from our hotel and a nice location with great food and great drinks.

No exaggeration - Sofia has the best GF pizza crust I've found in all my travels. Fun atmosphere. Excellent food and drinks. Don't miss this place. Also really liked the kale salad.
Ryan Coryell
Sofia is a vibrant Italian restaurant that puts a modern twist on traditional Italian fare. The theme pays tribute to the actress Sophia Loren. There is a bright and lively ambiance. You cannot go wrong with any of the entrees, but for a starter you must try the House Ricotta and the Chocolate Torta is fantastic for dessert if you love chocolate.
Jessica Woodruff
I really enjoyed this restaurant. The Sofia old fashioned was delicious - they utilize apple and it was a really refreshing twist. The meatball appetizer was good, we were just wishing there was more of it. If you have more than a two person party, order multiple. The cacio e pepe was so well balanced and yummy. Also, the manager heard my birthday is this weekend and gave me this cute cannolo!
Bob Morgan
Delicious. I took some pictures a bit late. Got the ricotta (amazing) and meatballs (good) to start. Then alla vodka pasta (very good with a kick) and coce e peppe (very peppery) both delicious as pastas. The chicken was recommended but we couldn't even touch it. We also got a Margherita pizza that was lovely. And some donuts for dessert!
Mike Boze
Must say this place is awesome! The staff is very informative about the menu! The food is stupid amazing. The flavors are layered perfectly and have depth. Hint: add some of the mint when eating the pancakes.
lucibelle schmidt
Amazing food by Chef Talia Diele, who was also very kind as too talk all about her food and what goes into making these delicious dishes. The environment was welcoming and the photos and videos of Sophia Loren were clear and an interesting view to look at while dinning with friends. Sofia has a welcome to everyone and has small but meaningful pieces all around her interior. Billy Blatty was such a good host as to have invited my dad and I to dine at his very much classic but elegant restaurant, Sofia.
Maria Io
We really enjoyed our dinner with friends. Our waiter was funny, friendly and helpful. The pasta was great! All food was good. Thera place inside and outside.
Tegan Jones
Not your average Italian restaurant! Everything was delicious, especially the ricotta dip! The pasta is made in house and the bread is SOAKED in butter. So good!
HotJrod Redd
It was a great experience. If I was in New Orleans again I would probably go back. For the shrimp and grits, they should put in the menu that the head is on the shrimp. The pancakes were great.
Swetha Mandava
Alla vodka pasta was very flavor! We tasted almost every dessert on the menu - the olive oil cake, pannacota and chocolate brownie were especially exceptional and quite original!
Michele Toliver
Our party of 8 ordered a family entree, pizzas, pastas, salad and cocktails. Everything was perfect and delicious. 4th day visiting New Orleans and our best meal.
Mike Fig
Great little Italian spot. Our waiter Beaux was very nice and helped us navigate the menu, which is not terribly clear of you don't have a mastery of culinary jargon. We tried a social cocktail, which was served in an italian glass decanter to shoot or share. While cute and novel, it really lacked a solid foundation as a cocktail. Too sweet, not much alcohol, it wasn't a knockout. The menu choices all looked compelling once decoded, but since we were travelling, and with 2 kids in tow, leftovers are always avoided, so we went pizza. We started with a Ricotta app and it was good. However, we had not realized it was another $2 for "extra toast". It seems a little weird to have a restaurant of this scale adding small secondary charges, I don't even care about $2, by just why?
The pizzas were very flavorful, we have the Salsiccia and the Spicy. The Sal was good but I think it could have done without so much broccoli. The Spicy pizza was better for sure, the banana peppers add just a little kick to the flavor profile. The crust on both pizzas was great and you could tell it was prepped from quality dough. 2 pizzas and the app and we were well fed, more than enough food.
The kitchen appreciation fee was 4%, I still added 20% to our server.
We were in over $100 and it was a busy upscale place, nicer than we were dressed for. Just felt like it could have been better with just a few little adjustments. -CO friends visiting

Our waiter, Zach, was AMAZING!!! We were a group of 12 and he did a GREAT job handling us all. The food here was really good and served family style. We had the crispy potatoes, meatballs, House Ricotta (REEEEALLY GOOD. Made fresh in the restaurant), bacon, alla vodka pasta, Cacio e Pepe pasta (the pastas are also made fresh in the restaurant), and the Ricotta Pancakes. The pancakes were so fluffy and mouth watering. We also had the bottomless mimosas and they DO NOT skimp on the pours. I absolutely recommend this place. Don’t worry, this isn’t the mimosas talking. We enjoyed ourselves here. 😉
Robert Cheng
Found this restaurant online and made an reservation two days ahead. The food are delicious and our waitress is very friendly.

This spot is really cute and cozy! I got the Secret Garden which is a spicy tequila drink and the Alla Vodka pasta, Scallops, and Budino. Everything was delicious and the kitchen staff sent me a cannoli for buying them a round. The staff is really polite, professional, and friendly. Would definitely go again!
Daniel Ordonez
Incredible food! Some of the best Italian food I've ever had the pleasure of having.
The staff is amazing! Incredibly friendly and nice. Our server was outstanding and made us feel truly welcome. Service was speedy despite the place being quite full.
The Spicy pizza was simply divine and had a great combination of flavors. The Risotto was rich and creamy.
And then there's the dessert. It was simply amazing! I can't put it into words how delicious it was.
Absolutely recommend this place for lunch!
Janae Passalaqua
This restaurant is absolutely fantastic. I highly recommend if you want an amazing Italian meal. The waiter was friendly and the chef was so nice and kind. This place is a must stop in New Orleans.
Forsaken747 (Ryan)
I guess I got what I deserved ordering some and not asking questions but for $24 you would expect a bit more substance than this! If you do go here, I would get a pizza. They look pretty good and can actually fill you up for the same price (or cheaper in most cases). I did see a few other dishes around and a salad which all looked good as far as portions go but that's what I get for assuming.
The Pasta was pretty good. The carrots were pickled in some sort of vinegar jalapeño marinade. The pasta was a bit aldente but I think that's how itialians cook it anyway and it was not bad. There was maybe 2 bites of meat in this so I can't really explain it well but it was soft. I was asked how my meal was and was honest and they asked if there was anything they could do to make it better. I refused because it was my fault for not doing my research I suppose. Overall the atmosphere was nice and the staff was friendly. If I ever do go back (doubtful) I will get a pizza.
Danielle Foster
I’d give 3.5 stars if I could. Ordered the kale salad (which was by far the best), spicy pizza and Gulf shrimp polenta dish. The kale salad had a nice presentation, good portion and was delicious. We waited a solid 45 minutes for the pizza to come out. It tasted good but was slightly cold, which was odd because it should have been served directly from the oven. We were seated at the chef’s table right across from the pizza oven. Then they brought the shrimp and polenta dish. The shrimp still had the heads (and eyeballs) on them and the polenta was dripping in a weird cream sauce which made for a lousy presentation. The shrimp tasted chewy and lacked flavor, and also had a fishy smell. Only 3 shrimps for this $22 dish. My bf complained that his Bloody Mary had a weird crab taste. I’d come back for the salad and pizza. Hold the seafood for me.
Mona
Good vibes and food, especially the pizza! The service was not as attentive as we had a switch in our servers mid meal without us being notified, was a bit off.
R M
The food is delicious, but got over charged. Unfortunately, I ordered takeout and ended up with one regular meal and the other meal was missing chicken (was charged for it) and the size of my appetizer. The appetizer was more food than my second meal.
Stephen Bartz
The best Italian food in New Orleans hands down. Their Alla Vodka is the best vodka sauce I’ve had outside of Italy. There hasn’t been anything on the menu that me or my wife has ordered that we didn’t enjoy! The staff is always professional and friendly and the atmosphere is lively but not too over the top! One of our favorites for sure!
Alex
Great food and drinks in a nice environment. Unlimited mimosa's are priced well however expect to pay a good bit for food.
Pizza's are large enough to share as appetizers. Two, three can be split between a table of four as a main meal.
Bourbon iced coffee and bloody mary are delicious and the bloody mary can be made virgin if you'd like a fancy hangover V8.
The pancakes are probably the best bang for your buck, and they're absolutely delicious.
Recently had the avocado toast which in my opinion was a little overpriced. For what it's worth, it tasted excellent. The seed mix with the avocado and chili jam was really good but I'd be hard pressed to recommend it at $18.
Michael Silverman
Best Americanized Italian in the area, and possibly the best restaurant in New Orleans. Have been on multiple occasions and the food is consistently fresh and excellent. Ask the staff (who are all very attentive and knowledgeable) about what to get if you have any questions. BTW: Additional tip is added to the bill to take care of kitchen staff - and it shows!
Emily Bozeman
If you want to shed a tear over Alla Vodka pasta, this is the place for you. We went for brunch and between the four of us, we ordered almost one of everything. Everything hit the mark and beyond….and bottomless mimosas to wash it all down made it perfect. Take time away from busy French quarter to this secluded gem in the warehouse district!
Joseph Roop
Food was ok
Atmosphere was cosmopolitan
The waitress acted like she didn’t like us?!?
Chandelier was cool
Hank Recor
Having past this restaurant many times, it has been on the list to try. When friends from work wanted to go out we went.
What a terrific surprise if an evening. We did not have any recommendations for the food here but now I can be that recommendation. From the starters through dessert, everything was delicious and well done.
Edward lorry
The handmade pasta at Sofia is out of this world and the wood-fired pizzas are some of the best I've ever had. The staff is friendly and the atmosphere is cozy and casual. Highly recommend for anyone looking for great Italian cuisine!
Shelly Rodriguez
Went to Sofia’s with some friends in the business when we were in New Orleans for a work trip. The ambiance is great, decor is nice and the food was AMAZING. The best food I have ever had so far. Everything was melt in your mouth amazing. The portions were smaller than expected but the taste made up for it. We had a great time and enjoyed the entire experience from the drinks, decor, waitress and of course the food. If and when I return to New Orleans, I’ll be returning for sure!
Rebecca Howard
Food was EXCEPTIONAL
Service was EXCEPTIONAL
Atmosphere.......... The inside is very cool, but also very VERY loud. My kryptonite. There are a few tables outside (where we sat) LOVELY.
So my suggestion is that if you have audio sensory issues like me... Call ahead to sit outside. ❤️ But definitely go!
Raghav Mathur
One of the best meals I had in New Orleans!!! Phenomenal pizza and awesome vibe inside the restaurant. HIGHLY recommend!
Sheila Bradley
The atmosphere was so relaxing and inviting. Simply beautiful 😍 not to mention food was GOOD. …
Lavanya Kanoria
Yum italian! Their riccotta and mushroom pizza are a blast and definitely should try. The service and people are really good too!!
Benjamin Bourgeois (Ben)
Great service, food and atmosphere. The short rib pasta, sausage pizza and desserts were terrific.
Mike D Walters
Incredible. The food was amazing and the service was perfect. We only had half an hour and everyone pitched in to make it work. Amazing
Neil Cavendish
This place has really good food and drinks. It's great atmosphere and fun staff. Well worth a visit. Portion size is a little smaller than normal but still so worth it.
Mad H
Fantastic fresh, authentic and delicious food. Great service. Delicious drinks. Trendy, young, relaxed vibe.
Jelissa Cruz
Please do yourself a favor and make a reservation. This gem easily became one my favorite restaurants in the US. Great experience from the host to our server, Jordan. I recommend the " Too Bad She's Bad" cocktail and the risotto for dinner.
Constance Genne
Absolutely amazing! Great food, great vibe, great service! The meatballs are so delicious but the House Ricotta dip with the house bread is spot on! Like others have recommended, the Alla Vodka (we got it with chicken) and the Cacio E Pepe (we got that with Italian sausage) was really nicely done. The Commendatore pizza was incredibly tasty and we used our crusts to get the last of the Ricotta dip. Highly recommend! Overall just a great place that we’ll definitely come back to when we’re back in town!
Javon Jones
Amazing food. Great portions and cocktails. Service was great and friendly. Arrived 30 min early to our reservation and we were still seated promptly on a very busy night.
Corrine T Davis
Sofia is a great spot for a casual dinner. The food is delicious, especially the handmade pasta and the wood-fired pizzas. The staff is friendly and the atmosphere is relaxed and inviting.
Jessica
Really great atmosphere! My husband loved the meatballs! I loved the bottomless mimosas! We both got cacio e Pepe which was really good! Not as good as when we had it in Italy lol but still good! Just needed more cheese!
Jaime Esquivel
Great atmosphere, great setting, and an awesome experience for the most part! I have my gripes, but let's be real here - the Industry has its troubles right now. Sofia has done a wonderful job getting open and operating at a high capacity. Wine selection is good, food selection is great (except the scallops - quality did not match the price point at all in my opinion, BUT THE PIZZA IS EFFING BOMB!). Cocktail list has some great creativity as well!
Only reason we aren't 5 stars is my particular visit service was slow to start and the scallops missed the mark for me. However those smoked tomatoes - yum!
I fully believe this restaurant is a gem and 100% worthy of your time and money. Do yourself a favor and get some pizza and magic 😉
Bobby Jinkins
We were early, but were seated promptly at our reservation time, our servers name was Adam and he was fantastic. The mimosas were wonderful, and the homemade lemon cello was good too. We had the crispy fried potatoes as an appetizer and they were good. Our entrees were Cacio e pepe and pizza. Both were excellent. The pizza was as close to Italian as I've had since Italy. We had gelato and olive oil cake for dessert. Go. Enjoy. Careful, this is a very 'hip' place, and loud, with gender neutral restrooms.
Tutt McCracken
My sisters, mom and I are visiting NOLA for a girls trips. We just ate here for early dinner this evening. We shared the shrimp toast, commandatore pizza and then the flourless chocolate torte and panna cotta for dessert. We had Gabriel as our server and we had a GREAT time. The food was amazing and we scraped each dish clean. Gabriel kept our water glasses full and was extremely friendly and pleasant. We loved our experience here and would definitely recommend it to anyone and hope to eat here again!
Nick Ortego
One of my favorite restaurants. Every dish I’ve ever ordered has been perfectly executed.
Elizabeth Patty
I had a fantastic meal at Sofia and was impressed by the quality of the ingredients used in their dishes. The handmade pasta was delicious and the wood-fired pizzas were cooked to perfection. Highly recommend!
Sadie Thibodeaux
Gabe blinded me on a bottle of red (how I like to drink, been blinding for decades). Gabe’s a rare talent. Knows his wine, brilliant choice, high value, perfect food pairing. Knowledgeable, clever, socially facile. Also did it while managing a massive influx of patrons, impressive. Thank you Gabe, will be back soon.
Jesse Lemons
Great pizza and pasta. It took my sister maybe too long to notice the connection between the name of the restaurant and the Sophia Loren decorations and films playing. Seemed to be a popular spot for bachelorette parties while we were there.
Jennifer J
Food was delicious. However, portion sizes are strange. For example, my pasta dish, which was a fondue cheese stuffed pasta, was extremely small. It would have been better suited to be on the antipasta menu. Tasted delicious but was definitely not a suitable main dish. Then the panna cotta was so big that it ended up being 4 servings for me.
Andy
I usually don't like sour or vegetarian foods. The Margherita pizza was sour, it was absolutely delicious and one of the best pizzas I've ever had.
The flavors in the Squid Ink pasta was incredible, the fennel pollen really made the dish special.
Zeppole dessert was a fantastic end to the meal.
Overall, great food, fair price, wonderful service (especially during covid times). Truly deserving of the 5 stars rating, highly recommend and will most likely be returning.
Aileen Jimenez
Best place we ate at in NOLA, good food, good prices, great service. We worried about having a high table and no high chair, but they had high chairs for us. Really great!
Sam Thompson
Wow! We didn't even get to try the GF pasta because the GF pizza crust was so fantastic! You won't believe you are eating GF.
The drinks were perfection!
The kale salad with dried beets is magnificent.
This is THE best GF place to eat in NOLA. Also Sofia Loren.
Don't miss it.
Celeste
We visited Sofia during lunch on a Tuesday. The environment is really cool. The entrance is semi-accessible, as are the restrooms, which are gender neutral. I was a little put off that it was after the lunch rush and there were many tables, but they put us at a really small one. I asked to move so we'd have room for all of our plates. We got a lunch special which came with a first course. We had the most delicious garlic bread and a meatball. Both were perfection. I had the pork bolognese pasta, which was very delicious and the pasta was cooked to perfection, very al dente. I do feel the portion was extremely small, even during lunch. We also ordered the margarita pizza. It took a very long time to get our entrees, and they reported they had messed up on the first pizza. The second was very unimpressive and soggy. I don't know if this was because they were rushing it, but it was disappointing since they have an amazing pizza oven on display. The service was spotty, as is often the case when you're dining post lunch rush, I feel.
William Zajac
Popped in here on a whim for lunch one day, great food, great drinks, and reasonable prices! They had a DJ for brunch, which was a bit much for me… but if you don’t mind that… the pizza is definitely worth it!
Mike H
This should be your staple local Italian for residents, and primary objective for visitors. The meatballs appetizer, cacio e pepe, rotini ala vodka, and magherita pizza are each better than the last! Based on these items I don’t have any doubt that the rest of their menu is incredible.
Simply put I would be happy to die drowning in this restaurant’s food.
Amanda Backlund
Ate here for my father’s 60th bday. We only chose this place because my niece’s name is Sofia. I’ve recently had a couple meals in San Diego that were award wining Michellin star wait list restaurants and this place was better. My personal favorites were the kale salad (normally not a kale fan), sausage and peppers pasta (normally not a fan of this at all), the shrimp main, and the brownie (normally don’t love brownies) or the passion fruit sorbet in Prosecco for dessert. Stellar all around.
Brittanie McCain
Mushroom pizza & Ricotta dip were great! Pancakes are a must as well. Lily provided excellent service.
Roland maertens
Went with kids, we were lucky to be seated without a reservation on Saturday night, the kids liked it, it is loud enough in the restaurant that they didn't annoy other people, the menu isn't huge and we were worried we wouldn't find anything good but everything we ordered was above par and definitely had a unique interpretation and nice presentation. We had the spicy pizza that was delicate sweet and spicy with a kale crunch, delicious. Ragu was good as well and the risotto was mild yet still quite good. We accompanied the meal with barbera wine that was perfect. Dessert couldn't miss, we tried the torta, Panna cotta, and chocolate gillato all decadent and delicious. Very surprising find, highly recommended.
Paris Zervoudis
For the first time in my life, I sat at a dinner table for three hours and truly enjoyed the experience. Do not misconstrue my first sentence. The service and cuisine was so impeccable, that I found myself ordering dish, after dish, after dish. Almost a dozen dishes later, the verdict is fresh, delicious and leaves you wanting more. After eating at fifty plus restaurants, in one of the best dining cities in the world, I wrote my first review.
Jaime esquenazi
Great Italian restaurant for a nice sit down meal. I personally recommend the Cacio Pepe and the gulf shrimp. It does, however, get a little loud when there are many people.
Chris Eide
Wonderful Italian place. Delicious food (their in-house made ricotta is excellent) and great service. Our waitress, Jolie, was very attentive, helpful, and knowledgeable. Molto bene grazie!
Paige Brunet
My new favorite restaurant in NOLA! Great service, cool atmosphere, & outstanding food from start to finish. You can't go wrong at SofiaNOLA!
sharon benhamo
10/10- Sofia is a one of a kind restaurant. My boyfriend and I were on vacation in New Orleans and we heard that Sofia was the place to be. People were right. This is hands down, one of the best Italian restaurants I have been to. From the impeccable and quick service, to the flavorful and unique cocktails.. Even the music was on point. The entree's were incredible and the pizza was to die for. I hope everyone is blessed with the opportunity to eat at this restaurant. We will most definitely be back for more when we visit New Orleans.
Josh Williams
My second time back. Again a really excellent meal complemented by great service. We ordered the pollo al limon and tagliata which were both great. Our waiter made a good rec on the wine. Love this place.
MF Productions
Great service by our waiter, Gabe! Food was amazing besides the Bolognese being a little over cooked. Shots and craft cocktails were on point. Definitely recommend!!
Robert Wolf
Everything we got was delicious!! The Gulf shrimp was amazing and the flat bread that came with the entree was so soft and delectable! Definitely a great place to go!
K W
The food was very tasty. We got to experience a huge variety of foods in a sit down family style 4 course dinner. I dont think there was on thing I didnt like. The pork belly and the steak was delicious. The bread was amazing.
Karen Squazzo
Great food and service. Busy today so a bit noisy inside. At outside. Enjoyed very much.
Madeline Watkins
We had previously eaten here and had an incredible experience. Beau was attentive, made great recommendations, and just truly made our night. We were thrilled to come back and came back the following evening. Gabriel welcomed us and helped squeeze us in. Initially he seated us at the bar, but then a table opened and we were escorted to a cozy two top. He helped get our drinks and took our order. From there, everything went downhill. Our server, Skylar, made us feel like an imposition for no apparent reason. She expressed that she was weeded, but she mingled around the restaurant with other clientele and seldom came to clear dishes, refill beverages, or ask how we were doing. As a long time server myself, almost all points of service were missed in my opinion. Upon asking for a to go box, she asked if I wanted to pack it or if she should and when I responded that I didn’t mind either way, I was told that it would be easier for her if I just packed my food up myself while she trotted off to schmooze other guests.
All of this to say, Sofia is a fine place to eat, but I would highly recommend Beau to make your experience great.
Michelle Michele
The food is good. There's an extra 4% fee added on to the bill for the kitchen staff. They will take it off the bill. My problem with this is that I don't feel customers should have to pay the employees. We already tip the servers. We are already paying for over priced food. Pay your kitchen staff a decent wage!!!
Michael Campbell
Exceptional service, fantastically fresh ingredients, delightful cocktails. Can’t recommend it enough.
Elizabeth Cole
Visiting my son, he took us here. Great food and service.
Nick Miller
We had a bevy of wonderful dining planned out for our trip in New Orleans but Sofia was a last minute choice based on a desire for pizza and italian. Absolutely one of the best meals we had in one of the best food cities in the world, this is a fantastic spot and highly recommended.
Shawn Smith
The Pizza is fantastic 😋
Must try.... the brownie desert
Carol Hutchison
What a surprising experience! Discover this place by accident and I just love it! Classy ambiance, hip crowd, and exquisite food!
Richard Lewis
Ricotta cheese with honey, Yes. Shishito peppers, blistered and covered in finely shredded cheese, yes yes! Cacio e Pepe, my all-time favorite pasta dish because of its simplicity and deliciousness, unfortunately not pictured because I destroyed that dish within minutes... In ernest, I felt bad for my plate... It looked so lonely without its delicious pasta friend that I sincerely considered ordering another serving...
Please go to Sofia!!! Date night, lunch, brunch, it's your birthday, celebrating a divorce, whatever the occasion, GO TO SOFIA!!
Hassiveth Alonzo
The food was amazing!!! We had the roasted chicken and it was absolutely delicious. The staff there are so nice and it’s so beautiful in there.
Magdalen B
Very delicious food and good service, I love the fun and funky atmosphere! Personally I think the portions are too small to adhere to the "family style" serving they try to advertise, but the pizza is definitely enough for 2 people with a New Orleans appetite and the food itself is full of flavor!
CM Combs
Amazing food and service! The atmosphere is great too.

Pretty good Italian/American restaurant in NOLA. The service was bit off and the servers but hey, they must be having a long day!. Beside that the pizza is very good
Cameron Smith
Wonderful restaurant! We went via recommendation and were overwhelmingly delighted. The service, atmosphere, and cuisine was impeccable. Thank you making my first time in New Orleans memorable!
Flubbering Philistine
This place is carb heaven, most people come to get sloshed but the reality is the food all tastes of TLC, as if the chef made at least 6 iterations of the dish to fine tune tolerable salt levels, sauce levels, and quality control, it all tastes of hard work, skill, and craft, and is frankly in my opinion why Sofia is the finest form of food in new orleans
Susan Connick
Great pizza and kale salad! Kind of loud inside; but, outside was perfect.
Jamie Higdon
Great food and wine and service. Only negative is it was very loud (we were here in a Tuesday) some acoustic treatment would help a lot
Jill Lobacz
Best experience in an Italian restaurant. Most of the menue was in Italian which added to the fun having to look up the words. I am Gluten-free and the waitress was exceptionally helpful and knowledgeable on what I could have, even made recommendations which we followed. Ordered the Vodka pasta and some Gluten-free bread with a side of garlic bitter and it was the most amazing Gluten-free meal I have enjoyed in a long time. I highly recommend this place.
Mary Jo Martino
Stopped by to grab a bite and a cocktail. The food was FANTASTIC. Got the ricotta app and the commendatore pizza and it was INCREDIBLE, but what really made the entire experience was our server Skyler! She was super sweet and helpful and on top of it. Next time we come back, we’re definitely asking for Skyler!
sharniece comeaux
The food was delicious!! Service awesome!!
Josh Fody
Excellent Alla Vodka. Great environment. Professional staff. Honestly, I was pretty hungry and portions are rather small, so I ended up ordering desert in order to fill up. Otherwise would be 5 stars.
Dark Sheep
I would have loved to have given this restaurant 5 stars. However I'm probably being more generous with 4 than they are with their food and hospitality. I had some kind of pasta that was absolutely delicious and the appetizer was also. Unfortunately the menu is as fabricated and immature and arrogant as are the staff. A bunch of idiots serving decent cuisine that is well overpriced. Let's see...how do I turn buccadibeppo into a restaurant that seems fancy so I can rip people off and act like I'm preserving Italian tradition. Ji**a please. Grow up.
A. Best
Sofia is absolutely Amazing! They have carved out Italian in Nola and it's fantastic. Zach our waiter was super attentive to our large group and his recommendations were on point. Service and Food top notch definitely a go for Brunch.

This restaurant was a 2 minute walk from the Sonesta Hotel on Joseph St. It was about 530pm on a Thursday and there was no wait. So it was a logical choice. Love the ambience. They have a beautiful wood burning oven for their pizzas and bread. The staff was great and very responsive until it got a bit busy after 6pm and then it took just a tad bit longer to flag down the waitstaff.
Ordered the warmed olives and the beets for appetizers. Had the pasta alla vodka. The appetizers were delicious! The pasta was a bit salty for me so I had to send it back, but the 2nd time around it, it came out perfect and al dente.
Would definitely come back to this restaurant again. What I regret not trying is the lobster toast. That looked fantastic.
Fine Le Free
Fantastic food, great atmosphere, and great staff. Our server Gabriel was amazing.
Michelle Hurwitz
Love, Love, Love Sofia's. Brunch is the BEST. Get the bottomless Mimosas and the Vodka Pasta. Life is GOOD at Sofia's.
Priya Patel
Absolutely delicious food at Sofia. Everyone was very professional and respectful. Atmosphere was amazingly Royal and great. Zach was amazing and very informative about menu. Great service by Zach. Thank you.
Hector Ávila Hernández
Spectacular experience. Really really outstanding. Food was delicious and service? Aaaamazing. Both Madeleine (our server)! And the manager did a fantastic job. The lady at the bar, while we waited for our table, the same. They are a great team. You just can’t miss this restaurant. I only publish when things are really good or really bad. This one was just perfect
Shreya Chaudhari
I wish I could give this restaurant 5+ starts - the service from the point we entered to left was next level. All of the food was beyond yummy- they were SUPER accommodating for us being vegetarians and even gave us garlic bread which was an off menu item at request. Would highly recommend for a date night , girls night or even just a nice vibes dinner. Thanks for everything and we hope to be back in town to dine here again soon!
Matthew Alfredson
Sofia, amazing! We had Lilly as our- waitress she was AMAZINg!! She gave us a unique, personalized experience that I would expect in every high level type restaurant. Definitely would suggest to anyone and everyone and will definitely be revisiting next time I’m in New Orleans!
Bill Greene
Came in from Denver to see if I could say "Hi" to my old pen pal and owner Billy Blatty, but got to meet Gabriel, his son. Very hospitable and he got us in during a rush. Had the pork sears and risotto, which were perfect. Nice place to take a break from the Quarter and relax.
Sarah Smallman
Wow! I give this place 12 stars out of five. Not only was the food DELICIOUS, but the service was fantastic!
We got to meet just about every team member there as they all came by to say hi and see how we were doing. Our waitress, Madalynn, was always on top of taking empty plates off our table and refilling our water. She made great conversation with us and we even got to buy her a shot to take with us. SO COOL!
Another waitress, Gail, was so nice and so funny. She kept coming by our table to check on us and then even brought us glow sticks for Mardi Gras.
We also met this server, Zach, who wasn’t even on the clock but told us so much information about the food and drinks and helped us navigate the menu.
I would love to come back just to see the team again. We even got to meet the chef!
I swear I am not lying when I say I think this is the closest to homemade Italian food you can get in the states. It is so flavorful. The chef uses recipes from her grandmother and they prepare the noodles fresh every morning. The cocktails were also delicious and I highly recommend asking to get the shareable glass that you pour the drink like a tea pot into your mouth.
You do not want to miss this spot in downtown NOLA.
If you go there, tell all the servers I say hi.
Jakeb Riley
Fantastic service. Every staff member was friendly, helpful and handled my large party (with kids) very well. The food was simply steller, every item we tried was better than the last. The atmosphere was fairly high energy for such a high quality place, which might not be perfect for someone looking for a calm evening.
Helena Mouskouri
Food was really good but didn’t like how the water tastes
Yoni Padan
This restaurant was really good and the atmosphere is fun as well. I sat at the bar and had the seafood risotto which was great!
Keith Rappold
Excellent pizza and the pancakes that my wife had were outstanding.
Sophia Abraham
Such an AHMAZING experience!! Every bite was absolutely delightful and the staff was so lovely!! Especially Gale, who greets you at the bathroom entrance, ready with smiles and a burst of beautiful energy! You will LOVE every bite and moment here :)
Cassidy Self
Ricotta & focaccia was so perfect to start, and the vodka sauce pasta and sausage and peppers pasta were absolutely delicious.
Nirvana
Amazing service!! Their staff is the best! The host even help us find a live music place to go after. Food was good and good portions as well.
Adam Simon
Walking in through the busy entrance to get a table I wasn’t sure what to expect from the loud and packed dinning room. The decor certainly has personality with Sophia Loren decorations throughout. It didn’t take us long to get the Meatballs and House Ricotta. They were both well prepared. The House Ricotta was a great starter in my view for the size, presentation, and the taste were all a prefect. The Commendatore pizza was very rich in flavor with the garlic olive oil sauce, spices, and meat. The Spicy pizza was bursting with flavor also with the kale being a nice touch. Some of the best pizzas of recent memory. The Cacio E Pepe made with homemade pasta was rich and pepper. All the food was delicious. I cannot wait to go back when I’m in NOLA!
Brittany Noon
One of the best pastas I’ve ever had the pleasure of indulging in- the bolognese and pasta alla vodka are what dreams are made of.
Wayne Boyko
Small gathering of folks at Sofia last night. We had reservations and were seated right away and were able to have a cocktail before the rest of our party showed up. My wife had a Lavanda, while being partial to rum drinks, I had a NSFW. Both cocktails were excellent. Our dinner companions enjoyed their Old Fashions and Blanton's Single Barrel as well.
We had small plates of kale salad, pork belly, and sardines, all of which was delicious. Although described as small plates, along with the fresh baked bread, they were a considerable amount of good food in their own right.
Entrees we enjoyed included lamb ragu, Gulf shrimp, and Gulf fish (snapper). Enough food that we couldn't possibly finish, although it was so good we tried very hard. Dessert consisted of torta, pistachio cake, and gelato.
All in all, a great dining experience with an attentive wait staff and bartender good at his/her job.
Michelle Todd
Came here for my birthday last year and had a fantastic time with great food!
George Mammarella
Ordered to go right near close - usually not a good start but we had just gotten into town. Wow - wonderful! The chicken was so moist and flavorful and the alla vodka was truly out of this world. If it can taste that good in our hotel room I imagine a full dining experience would be stellar.
Jack Meyer
Food was great and the ambiance was even better. Was also very interesting to learn about the wild life of Sophia Loren.
Also, A+ for the music played during dinner. Lots of underground rap (Tribe Called Quest, Mos Def, MF DOOM, etc.)
D.L. Chandler (D.L.)
It was good. Solid Negroni. Decent cacio e pepe. Swift and pleasant service. Smaller portion than I'm used BUT it was well done.
Daniel Rabetti
Delicious spicy pizza! I little bit pricey but worth every bite.
Jennifer Eiland
The food is phenomenal and the service is even better! Thank you Zach for being the best server!
Rich Smith
Walked in right when the restaurant opened, staff was very welcoming and friendly. Our server was Kayln was FANTASTIC! Ordered the carrots to start, was blown away by the dish! Presto that came on the carrots was one of the best prestos I have had in my 42 years of pesto eating! For a drink we ordered the Gin and tonic for two, the drink was equally delicious!
When it came to our meals my wife ordered the Campenelle and I had the Alla Vodka, both meals were so well balanced and blew us away!
For dessert we order the ricotta doughnuts and was told that if I ate the last one my Wife would kill me and hide the body! “I don’t think I’ve ever had a better dessert” copyright the Wife 2021
Highly recommend Sofia and Kayln!!!!!
Hansen Rogers
We stopped by just for desserts and a nightcap. They were absolutely amazing! I can't wait to go back and try all the delicious food I saw being delivered to the tables. The staff was so friendly and helpful. Nothing but good things to say about this place.
Christoper Gaines
My wife and I ate Sofias for dinner on June 15th. Much like other lower reviews our only real complaint was the portion sizes. We both thought our Cacio E Pepe and Alla Vodka tasted great, but they were finished with what seemed like 3 to 4 bites and for the pricetag of $14, we were a bit disappointed. We did like to point out that while the drinks we ordered at the bar weren't terrible, they were a little bit too heavy handed on the alcohol which really took away from what could have been something tasty.
Carlos Rodriguez
This place is one of the best brunch experiences i had in NOLA great service, interesting patrons and superb staff.
Reginald Marcotte
Great service and delicious appetizers and entrees! The drinks were unique and made perfect
Nicole Carrell
Love this place!! LGBTQ friendly - non gendered bathrooms. Amaaaazing food. Vegetarian options. Portions are a manageable size and the price is on point. Chill-classy atmosphere. I wish I wasn’t from out of state. I would make this a regular dining spot!
Pascalli Kitchen
Meatballs were perfect!! The sauce, I could drink it. Amazing!! Ray was our server. Solid!! Very helpful.
Best pizza ever!! Wonderful flavor! (The spicy)
Ricotta app was so so good!!
The maître d’, Peter was so welcoming!!
Garlic bread was chewy and crunchy, so great!
Chef Talia brought over some super tasty bread and sardines. I destroyed it!! So so good!!
Dessert was great!! Had the badoni? Don’t know if I am saying that correctly. (Choc pudding/s’mores bowl with hazelnuts and chocolate toast points) YUM!!!
All drinks were top notch!!!
Everything about the restaurant is so Fun! The food, the art, the furniture, the staff, the music! (Love the music!!) business was jamming!! Very busy and well deserved to be. Can’t wait to go back!!
Isabella Marinaro
Ordered take out and the host was super nice. Ordered pasta alla vodka and even though it was really really good, the portion was EXTREMELY small & paid $15 for it. I was expecting a bigger portion.
Angelo R
I actually discovered this place thru Yelp and Google while I was walking around. I looked at the menu and I thought it's something different so I why not. Plus 2 days of oysters and shrimp poboys were enough for me..LOL :)
I started with the House Ricotta and it was simply superb. Made fresh and texture was perfect. I also got the San Bartolomeo made with bourbon and brand. It was good. Similar to an Old Fashioned. For the main course, I got the Squid Ink. Outstanding. The zucchini noodles were al dente mixed with lumps of crab, fresnos, breadcrumbs and lemon butter. And of course, I couldn't pass up dessert especially when the 2 first courses were superb. I got the flourless Chocolate Torta with pistachio crumble and raspberries. Gorgeous and super flavorful. A perfect ending.
So if you're looking for something other than oysters or poboys in NoLa, this place is worth the detour. Very reasonably priced and also the service is good.
Catheryn Major
This restaurant is absolutely AMAZING. Everything we ate was splendid and tasted like heaven. Do yourself a favor and ORDER the MEATBALLS. The pizza is also great, it’s so light and tasty and soooo satisfying! OMG and the pasta!?! TA DIE FOR!!! This is definitely a place where splurging should be encouraged! And the wine & drinks were amazing too!! Can’t wait to go back!
Edris Stone
Atmosphere was nice. Service was attentive. The course came out on time except the protein which took a bit. Drinks were excellent. Appetizer(Meatballs) and Pasta were on point. That Risotto was excellent. The protein is where the ball was dropped a little. Scallops were fishy and a little over salted but still edible. Steak was ok but nothing special. Overall good experience.
C Jefcoat
Could not have enjoyed Sofia any more! The service and environment had our vote from the beginning, but then the food was incredible! Also very great for gluten intolerant! Everything without gluten was AMAZING!!!! Will mark as a staple during every visit!
Ron Ben Yosef
Wow! What an amazing experience at this Italian gem in the middle of New Orleans
Ria Turnbull
Incredible place in so many ways.
Food & service are top notch. Upbeat , lively ambiance. Definitely check it out, if you have not yet.
Natalie Richardson
Given the recognition Sofia has received as a top restaurant in New Orleans, I would have expected to give it 5 stars, but it just wasn't that for me. We ordered the pork bolognese and a spicy pizza. We actually had to order the pizza after getting the bolognese because it was such a small portion. It was $18 for a small bowl of pasta and meat. I didn't think it had much flavor, but my colleague liked it. The pizza was much more impressive. Great flavor with some zing. Very thin crust but a reasonable size. We didn't order dessert but a table next to us did. The cake looked delicious and the ice cream servings were generous.
We had gin giblets which were very good and fairly priced.
Our server was fantastic! Friendly, helpful and efficient. Service was prompt.
The decor and ambiance are fun. Lots of Sophia Loren art. Most of the seating is high top tables. Many seats are around the food prep area which looked like a neat place to sit. It was a bit loud and it isn't a huge place.

Everything leading up to the Protein was excellent. Took one star as the Protein(Scallops & Steak) we had wasnt up to the standard as the rest of the meal. It wasn't bad but had some minor issues. Also, The bread is excellent. Overall i would return.
Kate Kardel
DELICIOUS! Thank you so much for having gluten-free options :). For first-timers, the insalata can easily feed 2-3 as a side, and the pizzas are about an American-sized medium.
Mahdi Marsousi
Perfect quality. 5 days in New Orleans, 3 times to this restaurant. Make reservation before coming. Highly recommended 👌 …
Caitlin Moore
Lovely Italian food & friendly staff. The portions are quite small though so bare this in mind.
Justin Fauth
Very impressed! Went for a business dinner and we were able to share several menu items that were all exquisitely presented, super fresh and absolutely delicious. The atmosphere is modern and very unique with excellent styling. The bar serves some awesome specialty cocktails. The vibe is family-style and gives the feel of being among friends. Top of the line service (not over the top, very friendly and helpful). Just an overall great experience. Can't wait to go back with my wife!
Frank Ditore
Had a good experience but not great. Atmosphere is hip but very loud. Be prepared to yell at each other. Food was very good but our server was a bit overwhelmed. The server did not know the difference between grilled and pan fried when asked how the snapper was prepared. The dish itself was very good. The Bistec Florentine was also cooked well but served with all the fat. Maybe this is preferred by some but was a turnoff for me. The server took a long time bringing my wine order. Was half way through the steak when it arrived. I did not want to rate a 3 as this is really a 3.5 star experience.
Abby Lukov
Finally made it here for the first time tonight after meaning to try it since they opened. Great food, delicious wine, excellent service! Only regret is that we didn’t come sooner. Definitely will be back!
Niche BMore (Niche)
My party and I dined here during this years Essence festival. Unlike most places we were able to make reservations and I'm happy that we did. Even with the event that was going on, we were greeted by the manager who was super nice and seated us right away. Our server was friendly and even suggested some great dishes. The ambience was nice, to include really good music. The bottomless mimosas were on point along with the food that was AMAZING. I would definitely go back during my next visit to N.O.L.A.
Rikke Neerup
You have to go there - they make the best pizza 🍕 great service …
Burl Mahl
I like the ambiance and the pretty girls. Sofia’s staff values their customers and it shows. The menu is inviting - I settled on a custom-made pizza made in a huge pizza oven in plain-view of any customer wherever they sit. Also, the gin and tonics were tasty. The GM, Mr. Peter, and the AGM, Ms. Hope, pride themselves on providing great customer service. I recommend anyone who enjoys Italian food to not miss-out on this experience.
Gail Fishberg
Tonight I was lucky enough to eat at Sofia with my husband & friends. The experience was spectacular...the chef was excellent...each dish was prepared to perfection, our waiter was also fabulous and Hope (the manager) was personable, kind and made us feel special. We all felt like we had an exceptional experience. We cannot wait to go back!
Trent Cantrelle
My new favorite restaurant in the city. The atmosphere is the most hip and modern vibe around. Food is absolutely incredible! The attention to detail and preparation are on another level. It was hard not to keep ordering from the menu and try everything. Cant speak highly enough about this New Orleans gem.
Holly Lyn Walrath
Very good service and great gluten free pasta!
Joann Veuthey
Visited for the first time last night for a meal with my family . The shared meal concept was introduced to us therefore I personally got to try several dishes. Our choices ranged from pizza to shrimp scampi and several inbetween . The pasta is melt in your mouth delicious with a smooth consistent texture and flavor . The meat balls and garlic bread were delightful ( one taste of the fresh garlic bread would leave one wishing that the sharing was over!) The risotto was magnificent, my new comfort food! I can’t say enough about the food, after sampling many dishes I can honestly say that not one disappointed !
The bar was thoughtfully stocked and outstanding . The wine selection and suggestions were on point . We found local favorites and also several specialty drinks that are unique to the restaurant that were delicious. Just as much care, attention and talent went into creating and stocking the bar as was put into the food ! I was pleasantly surprised when I ask for a non-alcoholic beverage and the bar manager Hope personally made me a drink that was wonderful !
The atmosphere was warm and inviting . The wait staff attentive and friendly. My family will be back - yours should also !
Candis Copeland
The best pasta of my life! No lie! If you love lamb travel from another state to get this lamb ragu! My drink and service were also top notch!
Tamara G. Prosper
I went with a group of 8 during White Linen Night. Our server was pleasant and attentive and the food was very good. The server said they encourage family style dining (sharing) so I expected larger portions but aside from that, everything was lovely. We all enjoyed ourselves.
Brian Watson
Wonderful brunch with a Bottomless mimosa option in a well staffed and clean setting.
Silvia Guardado
Thank you to the wonderful staff that was able to accommodate our party of 10 without a reservation. They were kind and professional. Food was great! Nice and swanky spot. Would definitely go back.
James Douglas
Best new GF pizza I've had in a looooong time
Andrew Treuting
We had a party of 6, so we shared a number of different items on the menu, an approach I would highly recommend. Every dish was equally appealing to the eye as it was to the palate. The staff was very friendly and highly informed as to every plate that they brought to the table. The leg of lamb and crab rissotto were 2 showstoppers, but everything that we tried could be considered a can’t miss. I’m already looking forward to my next visit!
David Clark
This was a great place to eat! This is true "family style" dining. They have a lazy Susan on the middle of the table and you order entrees and sides. They are about the same portion you would eat individually but you order multiple entrees (or multiples of the same entree). There will constantly be food coming out and you just grab a little of everything. It was a great experience.
The area is nice as well and this (April) is a great time to be outdoors in Louisiana. The nights are a little cooler and the street it's on is busy enough for there to be people around for "people watching" but not so many that it feels crowded. I would definitely go back!
Bof Choi
My favorite places in NOLA have been the non-cajun restaurants, not that the cajun influence doesn't make a difference.
The vodka pasta was just the right amount of spicy and the pasta itself was great. Honey ricotta was almost a dessert and the bread it came with was addictive. Chicken dish was really smartly put together and definitely a highlight.
Doesn't seem like this has the acclaim the other italian restaurants have here, maybe because it's newer, but I'm glad I dug deep and found this place. Research pays off!
Ansh Jain
Honestly the most perfectly-cooked pasta I have had in the entire country I'd say - the cacio e pepe was on point. Great value as well. As a single guy coming in for a takeout staff were not super attentive - lots of waiting to place my order and to get forks etc - but I was here for the food and the pasta was simply excellent. If I lived in NOLA they would be seeing me a lot more!
BGS
We just ate at Sofia for the first time. The food and atmosphere were FABULOUS!
Everything we ordered was delicious including the Garlic Bread, Kale Salad, Crispy Potatoes and the Bisteca alla Fiorentina ( 22 oz ranch ribeye with roasted garlic and rosemary). It was the best steak we have ever had. It was so tender with amazing flavor and crispy on the edges.
We were greeted by the lovely hostess.
They have a large drink menu with specialty cocktails, wines and beers. I had a specialty drink that was great!
Save room for the wonderful desserts. We had the gelatos that were delicious.
Our waiter Josh was FANTASTIC! He has a great attitude and provided us with outstanding service.
We also had the pleasure of meeting the General Manager- Peter. He really knows how to run a great restaurant.
There must be a reason Sofia is packed all the time. Great food and ambiance and wonderful service.
Sofia is a great addition to the New Orleans dining scene! Fabulous vibe and a fun place!
We look forward to returning often.
Roberta Long
The atmosphere of the restaurant is so cozy that you will not want to leave. It’s just a short walk from my house, so I come here often. The ambience at this restaurant leaves a lasting impression. It’s well worth the money!
Covalent Botox
Best pizza this side of Italy. Ask for Peter
Loris Tateos
Sumptuous dinner, friendly service and awesome desert
Cindy Voss
Fun atmosphere, good food, great happy hour.
Sophia Fouche
I had sardines for the first time here & it was amazing! The steak & eggs were great too! I highly recommend!
Stewart Beach
Great food and service, had all the appetizers set up in the middle of the table as sharables and ordered additional because they were so delectable! Everyone shared their entrees also with everything tasting so good. The staff enthusiastically brought extra flatware and small plates to accommodate us!
Jack Zimmermann
SO DAMN GOOD
Easy to see what all the hype is about for this new spot. Atmosphere is great, team is knowledgeable and welcoming, and the fooood is for real. Tried a couple pastas, the brassica and pizza because I was very curious about this place and it was all UNREAL!
They make it all in house and it shows. Some of the best Italian food I’ve had and will definitely be back soon for more
Olga Marçal
Great date night spot. We shared a bottle of primitivo and it was perfect for 2. The service was attentive and the food did not disappoint! Some highlights from our meal was the spicy pizza and the gulf fish.
Abbie O'Brien
Recently stopped in here (suggestion from our hotel) and enjoyed awesome tapas style dishes. We had the meatballs, garlic bread and pasta dishes! Fun drink menu also - recommend the seltzer drinks!
Aleshia Canselo
We came here on a Saturday night and it was packed. Luckily we had made reservations on opentable. The server had great recommendations. We started with the meatballs and the tricolore. Both were unique and tasty. The highlight of the pasta dishes was the malfaldine! You can tell they make it in-house. We ordered the steak for our main and it was huge! Definitely meant to be shared. We left full and happy. I will be thinking about the pasta for the next couple months..
Saxon Babin
Literally everything they serve is fantastic. The atmosphere is always great and the service is outstanding. One of my favorite places to eat.
Victoria Burton
Delicious Italian food with a Louisiana twist!! The gulf blue crab risotto is amazing! The service is awesome and the vibe is laid back....highly recommend! Definitely try the pistachio olive oil cake for dessert!
antione carter
Had a party of 8 and everyone enjoyed their meal. Great customer service. Best scrambled eggs and pizza was delicious. Try the pancakes for sure.
Nicole Chavez
We had a great time at this restaurant! The food was fantastic and the staff was extremely friendly and accommodating. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a nice place to eat.
Giuseppe Stawallera (CAPOCCHIA)
Best happy but happy hours in the warehouse district
9 out 10 for pizza but the trick between 3 and 6.30 is the best deal in town
April spritz $7, draft peroni $5 and none of the menu items is over $10.
Don't miss it, you'll regret it
Brandon Kehoe
I have been to many restaurants and I have to say Sofia is my top favorite. The food is amazing. Every dish gets better and better with each bite. Miraculous atmosphere and service was A++. I would recommend this fine dining restaurant to everyone. I will for surely be adding Sofia to my go to restaurant whenever I go out with friends or even just by myself. 1000% approval rating!!!
Ruchi Tripathi
Our waitress was nice! Salad and ricotta was good but the pizza was so disappointing..so salty our waitress brought us another pizza but it was as bad as first one!!!
On top our bill had a tip for kitchen staff.. and the waitress said that they don’t get paid enough..ouch
Please include the tip in the price
Nick
Incredible. We ate 4-5 courses and never felt uncomfortably full. Each dish was better than the last. Highlights would have to be: The Spicy pizza, Tagliarini (squid ink pasta), and Gulf Fish w/ eggplant caponata (I don’t even like eggplant!). GO!
Anna L
Such a welcome addition to the New Orleans food scene, with fresh, not-heavy, flavorful & well seasoned authentic Italian! Brilliant chef, attentive staff, fun atmosphere, and generous portions. The gulf squid appetizer, kale salad (with candied beets!), lemon & blue crab risotto, squid ink tagliarini, and snapper with eggplant caponata were outstanding. Oh and the chocolate dessert! Can’t wait to try the rest of the menu!
Jason Breaux
Wonderful food and fun atmosphere!! Chelsea was very attentive and set us up with a great meal with wine perfectly paired. We will be back very soon
Ioana Richardson
Warehouse district has soo many restaurants to pick from and soo many cuisine options to choose from, but don’t pass just by this new restaurant because you will miss out on amazing food!!! Not your traditional Italian food and not your typical Cajun food but a modern twist to both!! Fresh fish, squid pasta, kale salad, crispy potatoes and delicious real Italian pizza just to name some menu items!! Combine that with great drinks and kind, sociable service and you will get hooked like how I did the first time!!! I’ll be back!!!
Patricia Richardson
Excellent service and great location. The ambiance is classic Italian but with a trendy warehouse feel. The food was delicious and not too heavy. In a city like New Orleans it’s hard to find food that isn’t deep fried and smothered with sauce. So happy I tried this place out.
Thomas Normand
Really dope place! The food is amazing. I ordered the pizza. And it’s some of the best pizza I’ve had. (Margarita pizza). The vibes are relaxed and fun. Priced reasonably. We’re in the CBD $! I’m glad I stumbled across this restaurant. Highly Recommend
Paul Russell
I live on the westbank but via a suggestion from friends. we decided to go to Julia street and meet here for dinner. We arent really drinkers so I cant speak about their cocktails or wines, except that they seemed to have good diversity in the selection. We had "the spicy" pizza, gluten free margherita pizza, and tbe risotto. And, all three were equally as delicioua and satisfying aa the others. Great interior design too! It was exceptionally well.
Lauren S
One of the best new restaurants I've experienced in a long time. The pork belly, ricotta spread with the grilled bread, the best vodka sauce pasta I have ever had and the shrimp entree. The shrimp, while a take on a barbeque shrimp dish, the olive oil sauce was infused with the shrimp juices and the charred lemon added a perfect acid flavor. For dessert, the zeppole with a caramel sauce was a cross between a light donut and a beignet. The flourless chocolate bar had a rich texture like a bar of fudge. The service was impeccable and all and all this was an excellent meal.
John Smith
New Style Italian is what comes to mind when I recently dined here. The waitress described the menu as a story, which was pretty clever. Start to finish not one complaint from my group! For the appertizers we tried the kale salad, Brassica (5stars), meatballs, and the margarita pizza. Yes, we ordered a pizza as an appetizer and you should too! All amazing! Then the pasta dishes were next. You would think it would be heavy but it was light and great for sharing. Gulf fish and pollo al limonse (chicken) are some dishes that I will be dreaming about for the next couple weeks. Can’t wait to return!
Anders Mechlenburg
The Best delicious Italian food served and prepared with finesse.
Good atmosphere with lots of young people!
P K
A streamlined menu that hits all the right notes on every single item. The first visit will overwhelm you due to wanting to sample every dish. Meatballs, Fancy Toast, Garlic Toast, the Carrot appetizers are must haves.
The pork bolognese and squid ink pasta dishes are superb.
If you’re brave, get the steak and crispy potato side dish.
Carolina Oliveira
Went there few months ago for a Sunday Brunch. I had a very flavorful shrimp and grits, bottomless mimosas and dessert. Everything was great, I need to return.
Darlene Wapegan
Their pizzas are absolutely delicious. I sat at the bar and received great service from the bartender who was very knowledgeable about wines. I Am definitely going back.
Brittany Saussy
Phenomenal new restaraunt with great music. Posh atmosphere with amazing food for the price. The osso buco was delicious. The crab risotto is divine! The best olives you have ever had. I’m a health freak so the kale salad was my fav!
Jonathan Pendergrass
This place was absolutely stunning, the atmosphere, the setting, the staff, the design, the food; just wow. I will certainly return if and when I am able to visit NOLA again. Definitely my favorite location for dining so far this week.
Joe Solito
Sofia Loren once said,
"Cooking is an act of love, a gift, a way of sharing with others the little secrets that are simmering on the burners."
I can tell you confidently that, unlike those secrets that simmer on the burners, this spot in the warehouse district won’t be a secret for very long. The atmosphere of this place was alive with upbeat music, smelling great from the wood-fired pizza and just had a general vibe that felt right. Do yourself a favor and try the Brassica, the brussels sprouts nearly melt in your mouth. My favorite dish out of the ones we ordered (family-style dining) was the Signore Bianco Pizza. Every ingredient tested fresh. Another thing I would recommend to a reader is the Eggplant Contorni. I can’t say I’ve had eggplant prepared this way and that is really a shame because it was delicious. Attentive staff and solid cocktails. Highly recommend stopping in this new spot and enjoying a meal with family and friends.

This place is worth a trip to Nola!
I started my Sofia experience with a Negroni as aperitif and ended with a housemade Lemoncello as my digestif. The dishes in between those two were amazing. My absolute favorites are the heirloom tomato salad, the Cecio e pepe and the Zapole for dessert.
The food is delicious!!! All the portions are perfect to share with your friends and loved ones. I definitely recommend getting multiple dishes.
Lauren Stitelet
This place was perfect for our girls night! We came here because we caught wind of the female chef Talia. In such a male dominated industry it was a breathe of fresh air to try her food. The ambiance was very chic. Starting with the cocktails. The Ol’ Q&A left me with a good buzz. Later I had an Aperol Spritz, it was light and refreshing. Moving on to appetizers we had the carrot salad which was creative and tasty. My second course was the squid ink pasta. The mussels and squid were cooked perfectly. We also shared the Bistec Alla Fiorentina. You could tell the meat was good quality and it was plenty to go around. I will be seeing more of Sofia in my future.
Sean Cote
Delightful little place- New to New Orleans but I hope she sticks around. I'd describe all the food as "bright! And so delicious!" Fresh, excellent touches I've never seen or tasted and a healthy cocktail culture. You'll love it!
Ryan Nicometo
For the price I found Sofia just ok. We went for lunch and several of us had the shrimp. We found it over salted and some were turned off by the head-on prep. We were also served bread sides which were massive and pretty tasty. I might try again for a dinner sometime as maybe lunch isn't a true measure of this spot.
swbshih
Excellent! Enjoy the food, service and atmosphere.
Christian Varnado
Beautiful restaurant, great atmosphere, the staff was very nice and attentive, and the food was amazing! My dinner was delicious as was everything that I sampled. It was a great experience. I will definitely be going back and I highly recommend Sofia!
Scott O'Connor
Don't ask for a menu! Just talk to the staff and ask them what's good on that day, you can't go wrong. Everything here is superb. My personal favorites on the Antipasta are the Meatballs, Gulf Squid and Kale. The Pastas are the Risotto and Malfaldine. The Secondi my mouth waters thinking about the Osso Buco and the Pollo al Limone. Again, everything was superb! Oh, and don't forget the Garlic Bread it’s made in house. I can’t wait to go back and try other things on the menu.
Elijah Ramos
My experience at Sofia was something special. The atmosphere and design is so welcoming and inspires a great time with your friends and family. The food was not your typical New Orleans Italian, sophisticated & light flavors set up an experience to sit back and relax while sipping on some delicious cocktails. It’s time you went to Sofia!
Shaunna Oliver
This is our new favorite place! We've been several times and the food, service, ambiance, is as consistent as it gets! Things to try: House whipped Ricotta, Pork Belly, Blue Crab Risotto, Ricotta Gnocchi, Sinore Bianco (white sauce pizza), Ribeye with roasted Garlic, Osso Bucco, Brassica.
OH and we also just went for their first Saturday bunch.....The pancakes breakfast sandwich and cinnamon buns ought to be illegal!
Daisy Dukes Mandeville
Absolutely love this new restaurant! Italian with a modern twist. Food delicious, service excellent, decor on point. What else could you possibly ask for? Give this new place a try when you’re in the CBD or craving some some tasty modern Italian dishes.
Tiffany Hammond
I love this place!! The food and service are amazing
Anjay Keswani
Sofía NOLA feels trendy, and the food matches. Amazing homemade pasta and Italian sausage. And a filet cooked perfectly, drizzled with fresh garlic and lemon juice. Mr. Clarence's service is impeccable as always. His attention to detail makes the dining experience!
Ralph Cadow
Grilled shrimp were very good. Squid ink was average pizza was not good.
Mehul Hajari
Exquisitely delicious food and drinks lovingly shared with family and friends.
Elizabeth Constant Hopkins
It's ok, good food, young crowd. Loud!
Huzefa Dossaji
Had an amazing experience for dinner at Sofia. The bar program has some amazing cocktails and a really good selection of wines. The house made Limoncello and Aperol Spritz are two of my favorites. Be sure to ask the bar manager Hope for recommendations as she does a fantastic job!
Chef Talia does an excellent job of presenting Italian cuisine with a modern elevated twist in a non-fussy and vibrant atmosphere. The wood burning oven produces excellent Neopolitan style pizzas. Some of my favorite dishes include the carrot & brassica salads, Tagliarini pasta, Gulf Shrimp Scampi and the Signore Bianca and Spicy Clam Pizzas.
Ben Cappiello
The food here was incredible and finally brings fine dining food with a hip atmosphere to NOLA. The squid ink tagliarini, brassica, and snapper were worthy of some of the best dishes in this city. Fills a big gap in this awesome foodie city that needed an upscale Italian restaurant.
Richard L
Very much enjoyed our dinner at Sofia. Food was delicious, especially the squid ink tagliarini pasta, and enjoyed the drink menu too. The staff was top notch. Overall a wonderful dinner.
Nathan Hammer
Gabe took very good care of us!
Myche Tician
Combo bar and restaurant with emphasis on good quality italian fare. Good food and service. The place can get a bit noisy. The pizza is well done. The pizza oven and decor are nice.
Gretchen Tolson
Busy, noisy and fun place for dinner. Seats at the bar, were better than expected. Food was delicious. Fun cocktails too! Attentive & friendly staff rounded out the evening.
Martin Glenday
Great food and service. Its hip and loud but still seems to pull off a comfortable atmosphere once you get use to it. Our party wasn't a big fan of their Spritzer drinks.
J. Brian Oliver
Food was off the charts!! Ambiance was a 10 as well. Big projectors show great throw back images on white Brick wall overlooking dining room. First class Bar and service. Must have dishes are:
- BROCCOLI/Brussels brown butter dish
- Crabmeat Rossitto
- bolognese
- white sauce pizza
- Dry aged steak
- Squid ink pasta dish
Carl Bonura
Good but not outstanding like other reviews I saw. Eggs in Purgatory were weak. Lacked spice and salt. Crab Risotto was very good. Rucola pizza was drowning in fig jam.
Anna Griekspoor
Best pizza of my life. Margarita pizza and the sausage/broccoli pizza were to die for. Id eat that pizza for the rest of my life.
Mike Ricci
Great new spot with great food and service. The pastas were incredible, and the Wine coordinator could not have been any better. Highly rec this place as it has good food at a great price especially for that area
Kameron Stansbury
Food was okay, not worth the price for the chicken, and waffles.
Edited: As stated below the owner said that they did serve what I stated above during essence fest, which is when I went. I believe that the chicken, and waffles were $17 or $18. The chicken was good, waffles were bland.
Salvatore Rebollar
order several main dishes and share. A win-win!
Noah Flom
The food, service and atmosphere are top notch. Highly recommended for small or large fun groups
Tony Davids
All food cooked from fresh. A little too much salt in all the pasta dishes we ordered. Service was very slow but place was packed full - Oct 2020.
Paul Blatty
Best Margherita pizza I've had outside of Rome. Pasta cooked perfectly al dente. You can tell the ingredients are freshly sourced and all sauces are made in house from scratch.
The interior is fun and sophisticated. A TV screen behind the bar is tuned to Turner Classic Movie channel. End your night with a homemade Limencello and catch a few minutes of the original Godzilla film.
Kayleigh Quebodeaux
Sofia was a pleasant restaurant to visit. My husband and I both ordered pizzas and we're very pleased. The service and atmosphere of Sofia's was great.
Shanthi Fernando

The seafood risotto.is to die for
Joshua Aranguiz
I have not been impressed by the food in this city for a long time. Due to the unbelievably high standard that has become expected of restaurants today in NOLA. However, Sofia has found a way to transform the simple into the sublime.
Nathan Hammer
Hot Ray and Cool Jed took care of us during our afternoon excursion. Jed’s mojito is as sweet as his personality and Ray’s playful banter made the experience one to remember.
