Reviews of R & O Restaurant and Catering
came here for lunch and wasn’t disappointed! we came around 1pm and it was very packed. we had to look around for parking but, eventually found some after about 5min. service was very good and quick. everything was served on paper plates which was an interesting difference. overall, would recommend for local Louisiana taste
We have family in New Orleans and visit several popular places. For me, nothing beats R&O’s. I dream about the salad with olives until I can get back. My husband said they have the best roast beef sandwich anywhere. I love the pizza! Look forward to next visit - hope we can get back soon !
I saw this place on Man vs. Food and wanted to try it out.
Seafood gumbo was great, and has oysters, crawfish, shrimp, and okra as and real seafood gumbo should.
The R&O Specialty Poboy is to die for!
Tender hand shredded roast beef soaked in a debris gravy, topped with super thin sliced ham, swiss, lettuce, tomatoes and a thin layer of mayo. Will definitely be back!
I've eaten a lot of poboys, mostly seafood. Everyone told me I need to try R&Os and try a meat poboy. So I did. The place is huge and always full with large parties if 8+.
The wait can be long if you have a large party. We were sat right away, however the food took so incredibly long. Everyone's busy but it still took so long. We say at our table for an hour before our 4 poboys came out. Was it worth it? It was just ok to be honest.
But the poboys are giant and probably good for the gram.
I usually get their excellent roast beef po-boy but decided to try something different. I went with the Italian sausage pizza. The thick crust was chewy good. Lots of cheese with a tangy sauce. As always, excellent service.
We waited 25 min to have some lunch and it took almost 2 hours from waiting to check out. It’s half Italian style and the food was okay but not that good. If you expect Louisianan style, this isn’t a place to go. It’s not a place to invest your time.
The greatest taste in the Big Easy and beyond. Seriously the food here is a celebration of taste and the service is superb
Best!! On my Chain Free USA resturant list!!
Great food. Great service and great customers.
Wanted a real Po boy, saw this place on a food show. This place was definitely off the beaten path, but well worth it. I was craving meat, so I got the beef! Messy but delicious. There were so many other menu items we wanted to try. I wish I could eat more at one sitting. I definitely gain weight when I visit New Orleans.
New and exciting at R&O’s is a $2 upcharge for lettuce & tomato on a poboy. Two micro thin slices of tomato and the lettuce would fill the palm of your hand. A bowl of seafood gumbo had not one shrimp in it. The waitress was kind enough to return to the kitchen and brought back 3 shrimp. For $40 (includes tip) we had I roast beef poboy, one bowl of gumbo, one small (6 inch) cheese pizza and three waters. Checkout the price for 4 cheese topped French fries.
