Reviews of Pluck Wine Bar & Restaurant
Kevin Marsh
It's rare that I will eat at the same restaurant twice when visiting a city for a week or less. I made an exception this week - eating here once with my wife and again several days later entertaining clients. Great atmosphere, wine, food, and service.
With roughly 400 labels, the wine list deserves its own review. I didn't count but I'd guess there are at least 75 labels accessibly priced at well under $100 a bottle. That's typically where I do my wine drinking. If you're lucky enough to be seated in Kate's section you can simply explain the types of wines you are fond of and let her take you on a journey through obscure and very lovely bottles. This alone is a good reason to dine as a party of six - more bottles, more journey, more fun.
Not to be outdone by the wine cellar, the kitchen swings well above its weight-class. The daily fish crudo is a must. Everyone loved the Tamarind Glazed Cauliflower. Charcuterie boards are beautifully prepared and include a nice variety of meats, cheeses, and spreads.
As far as entrees go... meat lovers will fall in love with the braised pork shoulder - perfectly cooked meat that practically melts in the mouth. The daily "Market Fish" is served in a bowl with crispy rice, beets, peanuts & chili lime jam - delicious.
Enough said. Go.

So I'm in New Orleans for work and I stopped by this place last night after going to Seaworthy to find out they weren't serving hot food. I had passed by this place and thought it had a nice ambiance so decided to go on (mostly because I saw that it has brussel sprouts on the menu). But to be honest, the cauliflower was the star of the show. I actually came by again today because of that damn cauliflower. Highly recommend it! The brussel sprouts were fine, but the bacon they had in it was a bit too hard in my opinion.

Came here for a birthday night out. Very glad we made a reservation because they were really busy on a Fri night! Their selection of wines by the glass is decent and they had a long list of by-the-bottle. We also ordered some food - brussel sprouts, croquettes and the pastrami sandwich, which ended up being our favorite. Our server was well informed about the wines on offer and able to answer our questions. I would definitely recommend for date night or a small group celebration.
Monica Daniels
The service was really nice. Our server was really patient and knowledgeable about selecting a wine to our liking. The food paired really well with the wine we selected. Intentional on the servers behalf. Definitely will be attending again & recommending to others.

Delightful little wine bar and restaurant in the warehouse district. Excellent bottle selection with a daily tasting. The dinner was very good, I had the red fish special with a romesco sauce. The selection is not expansive but what I have was very good.. I finished it off with the key lime crème brûlée.
Definitely worth a visit!

Pluck offers artisanal meals along with a thoughtfully curated wine list making this fine place to dine. The restaurant has a charming patio tucked away in a private courtyard. We had a very enjoyable meal from apps to dessert. Prices are affordable and service was wonderful.

What a fine place to pluck down and enjoy some wine with some good nibbles. I had the beurre ham sandwich which was delicious. A crunchy outside and flavorful ham and cheese … what is not to like. If you have more time you can imbibe in some fine wines. The restaurant is well designed like you are sitting in someone’s living room. Worth a visit.

Everything about Pluck is extraordinary! I had dinner there while in town for a conference on Tuesday, and we all agreed to go back on Thursday to try more wines and food from the menu! They have daily wine offerings and ever-changing seafood for their appetizer crudo and main catch dish, which keeps things fun. It's definitely on my list to revisit when I'm back in NOLA.

Very cool little wine bar with both internal and outside seating. There’s a very interesting range of wines that will appeal to the curious; with wines from Austria, Czech Republic, Slovenia and other less common locations. The bar offers a small menu of small and larger bites, with a well chosen mixed cheese and charcuterie board that we matched with a mixed salad of Satsuma, goat feta and radicchio.
Definitely worth a second visit!

Delicious food and wine. Very helpful staff helping deciding which dishes to have. Flavour of the dumplings and pork shoulder was sooo amazing. Melting in our mouths!
Mattlan Ladner
This dining experience was exactly what I wanted with tasty appetizers, mains, and dessert was phenomenal too! Everything was consistent and tasty! Lovely staff too!

Better than perfect. If you stop at the popular restaurant at the corner, you would miss out on the exceptional experience of Pluck. Not only excellent wines, but the foods paired perfectly. We had Pluck bowl of seared tuna. This is a Thai fusion influenced dish. Unbelievably amazing. Enjoy!

Great meal and super friendly staff. Very nice wine list.

The proprietors here love wine, and they carry over that infectious love to their customers. What's great is they manage to do it without falling into being snooty or otherwise up any of their own orifices. They're just chill, cool people with an amazing wine list, deep knowledge, and a really good kitchen.
Chris Tucker
Super cool wine place with a smart wine list and lots of tasty bites. I love it, definitely a great place to overindulge. If you're going to buy a really nice bottle they better have the right glass for it and this place definitely does. Wonderful.
Colin Russell
Stumbled in when another cocktail bar was closed and we were so pleased with our experience. The staff is so knowledgeable and passionate about wine. The decor is lovely and the ambiance relaxing and elevated. We were served by Kimi and she was so wonderful and friendly.

Sleeping Warehouse Gem. Upbeat, happy hangout with excellent Food and Wines. Go for the Food and enjoy the wines. I’d make it Pluck Restaurant and Wine Bar or just Pluck.
Christina Mills
The wine selection here is amazing and the food, wow! Absolutely delicious! If you're looking for an evening out with friends and family and want to have some delicious wine and food then look no further... Pluck is the place to be!!

I love Pluck!!! Everything is so incredible, food, wine, atmosphere and service !!
So cozy and romantic place, a lovely place for a date and friends hang out. And the price is very reasonable…20/10

The couliflower and the steak were amazing! The server was very helpful and helped us pick amazing wines. Best food of the entire NOLA trip
Melany Cutno
Pluck is amazing! The food is so good & the portions are very reasonable. The atmosphere is beautiful & the servers/ chef are very kind. 10/10 would recommend!!
Fairlight Fitzgerald
Delicious wine, great food rec. Distracted service probably because of Mardi Gras.
Thomas Edlich
Rrally cozy place with good food! Service was a bit slow sometimes and seemed to push very hard to make us drink more wine.
Darian Graivshark
Really great pricing for the style of this place. A steak for $22 is almost unheard of, and it was really, really delicious. The atmosphere was great, a little small and cozy, but spread out enough that it doesn't feel crowded or clustered. Really clean. Drinks were amazing, with a really great wine list. Waiter was kind and had great recommendations. Came here with a really large party, and they handled it very well. Would love to come here again with less than a handful of people for a more intimate experience, but would recommend it for date night, girls' nights, or even a wine connoisseur looking for a nice afternoon/evening drink.
Katie Branting
Cute little place with good wine. We enjoyed the chocolate mousse. Only complaint would be the service was okay, but felt like they were rushing us to finish up the entire time even though there was no one waiting and it wasn't close to closing time.
Magdalini Panagiotakopoulos
Exquisite cuisine, we were not expecting this from a wine-focused bar. The wine we chose was perfect, despite being in the low price range. Service was quick and honest. We tried 5 dishes on the menu, all excellent and very balanced, and the prices were very good. Great decoration and music too.
Thomas Vermeulen
We found this gem on our way back to the hotel. Cozy outdoor patio, really good wine selection. Loved the bar seating as well. Food is great. Good nibbles to go along with the drinks. The bartender and owner were friendly and knowledgeable
Alexa Birnbaum
Had a fantastic late night dinner here. The food is delicious and they have healthy, fresh options, which is hard to come by in New Orleans. We had a great salad, brussel sprouts, a mushroom sandwich that was out of this world, and wine. Nice, romantic ambiance as well.
Hans-Peter Waelti
It was a wonderfull dinner we enjoyed. We had white and red wine which was very tasty and the food was just great. I never would have expected such fabulous food at this very affordable price. If you want to enjoy good wine and great food in at a very nice location, go there!
Jimmy Gro
Hidden gem in New Orleans. We had such an amazing time. The goat cheese croquettes and selfmade peanut butter cups as desert blew us away :)
Troy Reynolds
Incredible food. Perfect ambiance. Great music. Attentive service. Amazingly charming experience.
Kyle F
Visited Pluck several times while in town for a few weeks. The wine selection is diversified and top notch, the food is both creative and vibrant, and the team is warm, friendly, and very knowledgeable about wine. Highly recommend a visit if you're in town.
Douglas Duckworth
Pluck has an extensive wine list with a focus on Old Word offerings. My party of 4 was promptly seated last night and recommended an excellent bottle of Gigondas AOC from Domaine Raspail-Ay. We enjoyed it so much we had two which was an excellent decision given the modest markup Puck had for this great bottle.
Entrees are small plates meant for sharing of which we had many. The croquettes were heavenly. We loved the chef selection meat and cheese plate. The brussel sprouts were cooked perfectly. The steak was great quality considering the price. We had both the bread pudding and moose for desert which was an excellent decision!
My only recommendation to management would be add more Châteauneuf-du-Pape. You only have one bottle for $1200. There's many you could offer at a much lower price. I would certainly come back and get some.
The atmosphere's relaxed but refined. I would recommend Pluck to anyone who's looking to share wine, charcuterie, and create some memories in New Orleans!
Jonathan Pepe
Had an amazing dinner here, the food was outstanding. The frogs legs are some of the best I've ever had. Wine list is outstanding. My only regret was not getting the 78 Margaux... Next time.
Susie Peterson
Pluck is very charming, cozy and welcoming. We loved the wines we tried and the charcuterie was excellent.

Sarah was great, wine selections were spot on. Food overall was good but needed refinement

Definitely will come back on our next visit.. stumbled across this while waiting for dinner at Seaworthy and almost cancelled other reservations. Only had one glass but they had an interesting wine list (a little pricey), great service attentiveness and a relaxing vibe.
Katie Fitzgerald
The Shrimp Pastis is amazing!!! The wine list is awesome, it’s got a lot of special wines that you won’t see elsewhere, but are perfectly approachable for newbies. The staff is friendly and helpful.
Carl Thomas
Frog legs are amazing in real life too. Pairing with excellent medium white from Spain, over the top. The Pluck It steak delicious with the mushroom lasagna and glass of red Mencia. You can get bread pudding anywhere in New Orleans and there's several places where you can get good bread pudding. But great bread pudding there's just a few and this is one of them.

Stopped on our way to the restaurant we initially had reservations at and promptly canceled those! We could tell from the menu posted on the door and how people looked inside this was the place we wanted to eat.
We sat at the bar (our choice) and were greeted promptly with water and info on the menu. Day 27 of being open. Great smoked tuna crostini, mushroom dish with bread and a smoked braised lamb. All of the dishes were to die for. Oh, and the wine was fantastic too. Only in town a short while, but I think we’ll find our way back.
Well done Pluck!

The best place for wine and food that we went to in a week in New Orleans. We found it the day we left and I wish we had found it on our first day. We would have visited every day. Food was outstanding and they know wine.
Daniel Cruz
If anyplace can maintain 4.9+ stars it's going to be Pluck. Stopped in for a jamon sando and dessert and both dishes blew us out of the water. Server suggested some off the wall wine pairings and they both landed. Wow, coming here every future NOLA trip, don't miss it.
Marta Tolosa
lovely service, interesting wine selection and great food pairing

My husband and I were lucky enough to go to the soft opening of this great new restaurant and wine bar. The snacks and dining menus were super flavorful and beautifully presented. The frog legs were divine. The by the glass wine menu wasn't overly long, but it had something for everyone. I rarely see orange wine available in New Orleans, so it was a nice surprise to see that on the by the glass menu. We later ordered a bottle of a French cab franc by our server's recommendation. He didn't steer us wrong-- it was earthy and rich.
Hoping this new CBD restaurant opens up for thursday-saturday lunch, because I would love to enjoy their patio in the daytime before the weather turns.
Bonus points for the gorgeous interior design.
Colleen Wallace
Pretty, relaxing courtyard. Tried the jambon buerre and grilled mushroom & goat cheese sandwiches and they were just awesome. Loved the homemade dill pickles. Price was right. Will be back.

Unpretentious yet classy wine bar with variety of food available. Service was friendly and welcoming. Thoroughly enjoyed

Happened upon this jewel opening night with my wife. We’ve had offices down the street since 2006 and have seen the CBD develop around us. This, by far, is the best addition yet. Service was warm and friendly, food (lamb chops and flash fried frog legs) was excellent and the wine list is to die for. A great place for grown ups looking to be classy off the beaten path.

Late night stop after a concert. Very relaxed feeling. Good food and good wine choices. Also has beer choices for those that don't want wine.
Chris Revelle
A bit disappointed with the wine selection and pickled goods. The olives were decent but the beans were low on flavor. Customer service was lacking but Interesting environment.
Matthew R
Im not a big wine drinker but my lady did enjoy her rosé! The food was phenomenal and the service was awesome. We went a little before closing on a Saturday night. Nice small crowd and cozy atmosphere

I came here with my girlfriend after having a bad experience at Galatoire's. What a difference. Amazing place, amazing service, amazing food, amazing wine. We entered the place unhappy and left the place fully satisfied. Try the steak frites and mushroom melt. Delicious

The Gem of the CBD!!!! What a pleasant surprise to find this beautifully decorated wine bar right off St Charles with private outside seating as well. The food is fresh and fantastic. We enjoyed the Reuben and mushroom sandwiches along with the charcuterie board and Steak Frites. The selection of wines is amazing. My first time trying orange wine, something I didn't even know existed. Thanks to Skye I now know all about how the wine is made and that I will look forward to more orange wines in the future. My husband enjoyed the local Sake, which we also didn't know existed. What a wonderful experience. Thank you Pluck!
