The smell of the good food hits your nose as soon as you walk thru the door. Everything is fresh and delicious. They even have a wide variety of beverages to match the wide variety of food. Everything is hot and ready to go during lunch. The ladies are friendly and professional. It's clean and affordable. I ate there 2 in 3 days. And have something different both days and still wanted to try more. I will definitely be back. Great find.

The food is good, but the service is poor. They're always rushing, which causes them to forget the crackers & hot sauce I ordered with my gumbo. Then they had the nerve to charge me extra, when I had to go back inside to ask for crackers & hot sauce! Ridiculous!

I always loved orchid until my experience the other day. I bought 3 plates, fried rice, drinks, cake, and gumbo. I asked a question about the gumbo the lady at the register seemed to be annoyed. But the problem came when I asked for duck sauce lol. She grabbed one packet and I looked at her and said can I get more. She proceeded to tell me that the ducksauce wasn't free and it was 5© a pack lol. I explained that I just spent $60 plus dollars so why are we haggling about sauce. In order to settle it I gave her a quarter for 5 packets of duck sauce. I love the food but how rude she was will have me never go back to orchid. I have been going there for years and years always telling people about orchid and how good their food is, but her bad service will cause not to return because good money spends anywhere!!

I was incredibly surprised by this location. Very much a hole in the wall and not much to look at, they offer some incredible food at an incredible price with so much flavor, it will make you eat it while standing at the hood of your car, because you just can't believe how good it is.

Quick order and the food looks good. On North Broad in Mid city / Treme ish area. Will have to check tasty-ness once I get home. I am pleased with the food and the price. The gumbo was thick, the way its supposed to be. The steak was big. fish well seasoned. I will have to go again.

Purchased takeout here yesterday. Staff were friendly and attentive --immediately acknowledged me when I walked in. The gumbo was great, as well as the shrimp and oyster poboy. Prices were reasonable. I'll definitely be back. I'm also looking forward to their move to the new building next door although the current location has rustic charm.

Service is always friendly. I love the owner, she is so sweet! Their gumbo is something I love coming here for when in the neighborhood, but its the rest of their food thats always a must try (yes the pasta is popular here). This place is the neighborhood bomb spot. Love it.

These guys have some for the best Jambalaya in town. Every Friday I’m ready for my fresh fried fish with a double serving of their bomb jambalaya. If you want a variety of comfort food, then this is the place! I’ve been a customer sense high school, 14 years strong.

Location: The NEW location a block away is much bigger, & so nice and clean! Service: Ms Kim greeted me by name after meeting only once before, which felt so good. Speedy service kept the line moving fast, which was great on my lunch break. Food: Large variety. My grilled chicken lunch plate was the definition of lagniappe, packed to the brim with my side of lo mein (flat noodles) loaded with shrimp, bell peppers, cabbage, and brocolli. I was NOT expecting the delicious flavor in the chicken! Perfectly juicy, tender, and savory. Drink selection: Huge cooler full of bottled drinks (safer sanitation during COVID times), ***don’t forget to add drinks at checkout! Price: It is comparable to similar restaurants, which is a steal here since you buy 1 meal & have enough leftovers for later. Note: Though it’s big, it’s currently operating as takeout service only, so pickup for date night at home or quickly & inexpensively feed the whole family.

The food was tasty, but the atmosphere left much to be desired. There is no place to sit and dine and every surface is labeled with a sign that speaks seems to demean the customer. If you are looking for a decently priced, flavorable meal, little to no customer service or opportunity to dine in, this is your place.

This is my first time buying cooked food from this place, and the food is good to my surprise. The customer was good, but my problem is they over charge my card. My receipt said $19.78, but on my statement it show a charge of $23.74. So, if you are going to this place do not, I REPEAT, DO NOT USE YOUR DEBIT/CREDIT CARD AT THIS PLACE!!

Working in the area and decided to make orchid seafood my lunch stop and it was worth it. They had some nice choices on the menu, I had a taste for grill chicken and shrimp fried rice so that's what I got and it was good. Next time I'll try something different. Definitely will be returning

Orchid is that hole in the wall style place that you definitely have to try! So, the red beans, lo mein, and chops are absolutely AMAZING! There is always a great selection of cold beverages, and the service is quick so you will be in and out. There isn't much space to sit and eat, and there are no restrooms. However, this place is still worth a visit.

It is really inexpensive, super tasty food to go. For 8.99 you get a big piece of fried fish and and bunch of fried shrimp + fried rice or pasta or lo mein. They also have very good gumbo and good boiled seafood. Totally worth a stop
