Reviews of New Orleans Creole Cookery
Megan Marohn
We got to New Orleans Creole Cookery early in the afternoon so we were able to avoid a line. We ordered their jambalaya appetizer along with the red beans and rice. They were the best we've had in New Orleans! Perfect seasoned, saucy!
We also ordered dessert the peanut butter and chocolate cake and the banana fosters cheesecake. Both were super yummy! Unfortunately, the bananas foster cheese didn't taste like banana anything - it was creamy and delicious, but no banana flavor.
We would definitely recommend this lovely restaurant to anyone who visits NOLA.

I don't know what was better, the food or the service! Within walking distance from our hotel, which was nice. The atmosphere was relaxing and beautiful. Our server was Chris and he was such a delight!! He was fast, funny, charming and very kind. The red beans and rice (not pictured) were AMAZING!! If I could've eaten a bucket of that dish I would have! Will definitely be eating here again!

Quick and friendly service. The food and drink were amazing! The shrimp creole and pecan crusted redfish are still making my mouth water the next day. Oh and the crab cake was damn good! Beautiful outside ambience. They had heaters going because it was a cooler night. Reservation on open table was really easy. We got there 15 minutes early and they sat us down right away still. Amazing experience!

We enjoyed sitting outside on a nice evening. Our server, John, was great. The cocktails were delicious. (We had a Bacon Bloody Mary and a Lafitte's Original Hurricane.) 2 of us had the Creole Pasta which was absolutely wonderful and the other had the crab cake and some charbroiled oysters that they said were amazing! They were out of the bananas foster cheesecake so we had the chocolate/peanut butter torte that was very good.

This restaurant was recommended by hotel. Without reservations, we had to sit in bar, were warned they were short-staffed and to be patient. Great atmosphere, batender/waitress most pleasant. Food was divine. Got a desert "on the house" because of our patience. It was worth the wait! Had we been seated in courtyard or dining room with full staff, i would give this a 5-star!

The food was very good, some better than the other, the Steak was very good as was the Creole red beans and rice, the green beans and potatoes were just ok, like a plate filler. Cheesecake was very good.the restaurant is very beautiful. Our overall dining experience was pleasant but it took almost 3 hours for us to finish dinner, and we didn't have to wait upon arrival, we were seated immediately, it just took the restaurant that long to get our order and get food out and check. Staff was nice and apologized for the wait.

Fantastic oyster Happy Hour at the bar!
This place is away from the bourbon ST but within walking distance from there. We've been here a few times before & after covid. Food & service is great. My husband doesn't like seafood but enjoys the char broil oysters here.
The chef is awesome. He taught us how to pick good quality oysters, open them, char broil & eat raw. Sometimes it's busy & you need a reservation. There is a nice court yard with outdoor dining, in door area & a bar.

The food is amazing and authentic Creole style cooking. Our service was fantastic and the restaurant was clean. The Gumbo was incredible! The seasonings they use here are very traditional to the culture. There is a fountain in the courtyard and outdoor lights for evening dining. The ambiance is exceptional. Be prepared for an amazing dining experience.

I visited this restaurant as part of a self-guided ghost tour with my son in New Orleans. Although we didn't see any strange occurrences, the history of this building, like most in New Orleans and particularly the French Quarter, was enough to keep us on the lookout! The food was excellent and the service was prompt and friendly. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for either a great experience or a great meal! Highly recommended!

The food was good but expensive for the value. The calamari had only a few pieces, it was a pile of peppers. The steak was good and cooked perfect but the potatoes were dry/old, green beans nasty. My drink was $20. Staff not attentive or friendly. Was hot in there need to turn air up. Probably won’t be back. They do offer a Groupon if want a little discount
rickeyta hawkins
The food was delicious! First time trying oysters they were to die for! I ordered charboiled. Cajun calamari was great! Shrimp was tasty a little on the sweet side.
Decimo
Absolutely friendly staff! Was recommended this place and it is a hidden gem spot in the French Quarter. Must try the oysters, better than Acme House!! Also had the nice crispy catfish. Food and service was excellent!!

Came here to try their Gumbo during a food tour. FELL in Love with with their smoked Oysters. Tried them else where & they did not compare to here.
Great happy hour atmosphere & prices. Tip the Oyster smokers/cookers they were working hard. Everything we tried here was tasty.

So, I spent exactly 7 days in New Orleans. In that time, I’ve eaten 30 bowls of gumbo. This is my second favorite gumbo in the city. Kinda over done on the green onions. The old fashion was good, and my wife really enjoyed the crab cakes. When I called the lady set me up for a table and didn’t have to wait at all. The breading on the seafood is what you expect in Nola.
Vazir Fatehi
Amazing Cajun and creole food. Terry was a fantastic server and his recommendations were spot on. We had a Bacon Bloody Mary and Cajun Calamari to start. Main courses of shrimp creole and Creole pasta, and we were too stuffed for dessert. Top rated for good reason.

During a visit in NoLo I wanted to try all the local flavors so I took the opportunity of ordering a few things from New Orleans Creole Cookery and I made a great choice in doing so! The only downside in my approach is that I wanted more of everything, especially the Banana Bread Pudding! A main reason for coming back here would be the customer service at the bar, she was very attentive, engaging and thoughtful - she heard me mentioning being there for work and having long days so when I finally decided to get a drink my to-go order was ready for me, at that point she instantly reminded me that I could take it to go and my mood instantly picked up! Between the service and the food I would definitely recommend this place.

We had lunch and it was amazing! We were lucky to have LeRhon as our server and give suggestions. Best lunch! The charbroiled oysters and shrimp poboy were to die for. Definitely will hit this spot every time in Nola

They require proof of vaccination before you eat. Make sure you have your V card. Food was okay.. shrimp creole and jambalaya was good. Etufe and seafood boil was okay.
Josh Bilyk
Love this place, but make a reservation if you want to sit in the back courtyard!! Failing that, there is always the restaurant dining room or the bar. Great service, fantastic drinks and amazing food... with plenty to choose from!!
KURT C
Fantastic place to eat for my first time in New Orleans. The drinks were great and the food was amazing. The staff were super friendly and knowledgeable. I was also lucky enough to meet the GM Jeff on his first day and tell him as much. 10/10 will return!

the food and the service was STELLAR. this is definitely a restaurant i will be referring to others. I really enjoyed myself during my time at the restaurant. My family that accompanied me was also very pleased with the experience we received. If we are in town again we will surely be stopping by. This is a good place of business.

Food taste great! Restaurant was very clean. Waitress could have done more and been more available. We didn't have any condiments on our table as far as napkins salt/pepper and etc. Only something to eat with... and wasn't asked.
Krista Anderson
The food was excellent. Especially the Pecan crusted Red Fish. The service was even better. The drink menu was extensive. The restaurant was beautiful. Prices were in line with the quality of the food and the quality of the service.
Haley Broaddus
AMAZING FOOD!! SO DELICIOUS.
We absolutely loved everything. Also, they officially have the best crab cakes. I love crab cakes & they have the best ones. GET THE CRAB CAKES. 🤣😍😍 …
Katarzyna Szybalska
Wonderful place with traditional creole cuisine. The interior is very elegant. Our dishes have been served almost immediately. Our waitress was very friendly and really made us feel welcome.
Amanda Cokinogenis
We walked past this restaurant through our stay in new Orleans and decided to eat for our last night out. The staff were very friendly with each other and seemed to be having a party amongst themselves. We had very limited short encounters with both the receptionist (who wasn't at the front area the 3 times we attempted to eat at the restaurant and it was not busy) and our waitress who was short but lacking any southern hospitality . We ordered 2 appetizers (oysters and gator bites). They were ok but the gator bites were very dry. Then amongst our party we had 3 main dishes. Veggie pasta, shrimp and grits and the Filet mignon. The grits where delicious but very few sausages pieces and about 5 tiny shrimp. The filet my husband got was grossly undercooked (medium rare was requested and we got a very rare steak). He asked for it to be cooked a little longer and when the steak returned it was as if it was put in the microwave and heated up. He left 90% of the steak uneaten. Although it was clear the steak was not good and could not be eaten our waitress did not ask if it was done to his liking or if she could offer any assistance. We finished the night with 3 deserts (key lime pie, banana fosters cheese cake and Banana fosters bread putting). The cheese cake was good but hardly had any banana flavor? At the end if the night our bill was $200 and we walked away feeling let down. The cooks were always outside the front doors smoking almost every time we went past. We were disappointed to say the least. Not worth the money we paid.

Great Groupon choice on this one! I'd go again without it because the menu was great with many options. The service was friendly and the host and waitresses were attentive. There were 7 of us so we had a good variety of food (didn't catch photos of it all) and were able to taste test many options. Even with that I'd have a hard time deciding what to get on my next visit. And don't forget to check out the drink menu..

First stop for dinner, I found the New Orleans Creole Cookery. After much time at The Carousel Bar & Lounge, I needed food on my stomach. Well and more alcohol. Bartender suggested the Toulouse cocktail, it was sweet, so I added a wave 🌊 more of alcohol, and nailed it!
Make certain to make reservations though, you’ll likely be turned away, especially the later to closing it gets there.
I sat at the bar because that’s where cool people sit. I got a chance to see all the action with the oysters 🦪 and they were enticing, let me tell yah! But I came for the vegetarian jambalaya AND those hush puppies (remoulade sauce).
This was a great 😊 place to dive right on in with the Nola peeps. Well the ones that stay inside. Lots of street wanderers but nothing that will bother you. Ehh, if you have spare change. But before you leave, grab some of that bread pudding 😳🤤
That’s clutch for every phat girl’s dream.
I’ll be back for more hush puppies.
Megan Cozart
Best charbroiled oysters, and the gator sausage was amazing. The chicken dish was also great. Perfect service. Great experience while in French Quarters.
Connie Pedersen
Incredible!!! The grilled shrimp are crusted in Parmesan cheese and I could not get enough. Oysters are opened fresh and right in front of you. They’re even on the 3-6 happy hour! Also had their fire cracker shrimp and calamari! Sooooo goood!!! The staff members are awesome and this place deserves a solid 5 stars!!
Robert Shiver
The food was absolutely delicious!!! The staff was very welcoming and the outdoor courtyard seating was absolutely perfect!!! Definitely will be coming back!!!
M Chu
2.5 stars. No reservations but was able to sit at the bar with co-worker. Whitney took care of us. She was polite, pleasant, and efficient. We both got waters and the Taste of New Orleans ($30) which came with jambalaya, crawfish étouffée, shrimp creole & red beans & rice. All were average and a bit salty.
The guys shucking the oysters were friendly and fun to watch while we waited for our meal. Overall though for the price charged, we both felt it was underwhelming and not a good value.
From many others' reviews, however, maybe it was just one of those nights for the New Orleans Creole Cookery team.
jax Kennedy
Stopped in for a quick snack and drink. The service was just ok. We ordered specialty drinks and they were good. Got 2 appetizers, gator bites and hush puppies. Good but not great . Check covid rules before going.
Greg Jahnke
Filet with shrimp and blackened redfish - very tasty. Only weirdness was being asked if we had reservations when the restaurant was 1/2 full (we stayed till closing at 9pm). I thanked the hostess for accommodating us..no need to be rude. James was the server and he was hustling but made sure we were good.
Jesse
Delicious plates and great service. The red beans and rice are amazing! But so was the shrimp with a bottle of wine. We spent about $100.00 for a bottle of wine, the shrimp plate with potatoes and sausage. It was delicious. Oh. That also includes two bowls of red beans and rice.
Uchenna Ogbonnaya
Food was good. Staff was friendly. And the courtyard thing was beautiful with the lights. If it's youre first time in NoLa definitely eat here. Make sure you make a reservation, if you don't you'll end up in the oysterbar even if they're not busy at that moment
aaron toth
Rare I give 5 stars , but this was soooo amazing , the atmosphere was really cool . Our waiter johnell was super knowledgeable about the menu , extremely professional, very nice and also goes above and beyond . We had the jambalaya, and gumbo . It's was so good I couldn't believe it . I have so many reviews but this is possibly the best place I have ever been to , the pricing is also very fair ! Be sure to check the pictures . The outside courtyard terrace is a great place to eat ! This is a must try !!!
Eddie Stern
Outstanding!!!! Ellie was great, food fabulous, great flavors, but out of oysters???? WHAT???? We used a Groupon and would be happy to pay full price.
Gökay Zeren
You can get better food for this prices in the city. Oysters were delicious but super salty, shrimps tasted like frozen, and grits were tasteless. Not much recommended
Michael Kelley
Wow! The food was so amazing, for the first time ever I feel like I've purchased food that well exceeds my expectations! The redfish pontchartrain was the absolute best seafood I've ever tasted, maybe the best food I've EVER had. Music and restaurant atmosphere really gave you that old school New Orleans vibe. Also Jackie was so friendly and attentive. Thank you for helping to make our trip to the French Quarter so special
Tia Blackwell
Our Waiter was so great ! His attention to service was awesome ! the food was delicious !! Best. Crab cakes I’ve ever had !
Jonathan Houle
Not a recommend. Definitely a lot of better places to eat. Crab cakes had about 3 micrograms of crab in them. The red fish was ok, but I wouldn’t go out of my way to go back or suggest going here. Restaurant had a nice atmosphere and the staff was friendly, but the food left some to be desired
Shon Clark
Had some great local cuisine. Indoor courtyard is very romantic. Highly recommend to put on your foodie bucket list.
Cassandra Harper
Food was pretty good! We ordered jambalaya, hush puppies, oysters and the New Orleans sampler dish. The shrimp part of the sampler dish was eh. Service, however, was terrible. After finally being helped, our server just had a horrible attitude. She threw a plate down that slammed on the table. We felt thoroughly uncomfortable. So, all in all, food was good, but service was awful, leading us to not recommend/return.
Ozzie Ramirez
Oysters Rockefeller were some if the best I’ve ever had. Duck was good. Creole pasta was slightly spicy and had amazing flavor.
Osogorgeous Rayy
I used a Groupon to try something new and so glad i did !! I chose this place for my birthday dinner and when i say the dood was AMAZING!!!!! And so was my server Jackie !!! She was great. I recommend !! Alligator bites and fish and shrimp. The gator bites taste like breakfast sausage
Jennifer Weathers
Very yummy food here!!! We tried Gumbo, Jambalaya, and Fried Oysters. All were so very good!! It was so yummy and would eat here again. The fried oysters were surprisingly good (first time eating them fried - and I dislike them raw)! I would order a whole tray of the fried oysters!
Erik Ross
Inviting atmosphere and engaging staff! I tried my first oysters ever tonight (all thanks to the raw bar cooks suggestions)! Tried the Pumpkin Spice Martini as well, potent but seasonally tasty. Highly recommend!!
Domingo lopez
Wow! Don't miss this place when your traveling to Nola. Great food great price, beautiful outside dining area as well as bar and great service ask for Ty she's amazing!
N Mock
Beautiful restaurant and exceptional service. Taste of New Orleans and Shrimp and catfish plate was delicious!! Really enjoyed the gator bites too! Thank you for a lovely NOLA food experience!
Sowie Jose
So good! Came here on a visit and loved it! Our server Chris was extremely attentive and helpful. To travelers wanting to try the various food of New Orleans, get the "Taste of New Orleans." A must-try!
Bobbie Dunnington
Went for New Years Day. Limited menu and auto gratuity for party of 5 but everything we had was delicious. Made reservations on opentable and seated immediately.
Mark Billhofer
My family and I went on a weekend night and arrived just before the rush without a reservation. We were immediately seated at a table that was bussed, but not fully prepared, lacking utensils and having a dirty tablecloth.
Our service was adequate, but it felt like we were a bit of an after thought. They were probably understaffed/overbooked, so that's understandable. The waitress was responsive to our requests however.
The food was very good, a particular highlight being the red beans. I had the sampler entree and it felt a little overpriced as about half of each cup was rice. My wife had the catfish, which was really good and the portion size was also excellent. My parents ordered beer off the tap which they said was too warm.
Overall, I think the food was very good, but we happened to get less than excellent service due to our timing and staffing issues. I can't wholeheartedly recommend the restaurant, but I'd be willing to eat there again and see if the poor service was a fluke or not.
Harry Graham
My meal was great! I had the Catfish Durango, wifey had the crab cakes. Hers was okay (not great) until she got to the center. It was partially frozen. I was charged for one half of the order since wifey only could get to the icy part. I complained that I shouldn't have to pay for her meal but my complaints fell on deaf ears. Manager explained that wifey ate half to which I interjected that the platter was sent to the kitchen and nuked to the point of her fresh spinach became a wilted mess! Thus the remainder 1/2 crab cake disintegrated (because the majority of the cake was breaded and cheesy), implying to the Manager that my wife ate the whole thing. I just said whatever and give me my check!!!
almaherman_ fit
Char-broiled oysters were AMAZING, Bananas frosted bread pudding was yummy as well, the cajun calamari was EXTREMELY oily! so that’s a No. They have NO crab so you can not order anything from the menu with it, prices are a bit high. Our waitress was very very nice.
Jerrod Perry
Cute restaurant in an old stable house. Great decor. Our server was friendly. It felt that the restaurant was short staffed and all of the servers were exhausted. I feel this is a byproduct of the pandemic and a busy Halloween weekend. The food was good though not very warm. Again, the byproduct of short-staffing.
Have patience, tip well, enjoy the ambiance!
Jonathan & Karen Klyne
Anna was an amazing waitress who totally took care of us! Made great recommendations and told us exactly how it is!
Greg Dubiel
Stopped in for some Creole Gumbo and a half a dozen baked oysters. I was so excited to eat them forgot to take a photo before. So you will have to try them yourself. Outstanding.
Then was talked into trying the Bananas Fosters Bread Pudding. Superbly done well worth the calories. We sat outside on the patio, well appointed and clean. Staff was fast and attentive.
Danielle J.
Our waiter was the BEST thing about our visit. I ordered the Vegetarian Jambalaya which was good but it was cold. I had to send it back to be placed in the microwave. I also ordered fried pickles and they were soggy. Our wait for our food was LONG.
Andrew Chevalier
Absolutely enjoyed myself. Super friendly staff and fantastic creole food. Char-grilled oysters, Blackened Redfish, crawfish etouffee, beans and rice, shrimp creole, jambalaya, even the deep fried pickles were great. Would come back when in New Orleans. Highly recommend if you enjoy Creole food.
David Copeland
Was in town to celebrate Joan of Arc’s birthday and enjoy the kick off to the Mardi Gras season of 2023. Strolled around getting great shots of the city with my drone. Built up quite the appetite so we let Google toss ideas at us and this seemed like a great choice.
We (party of 2, this is important to note) began our experience asking for a drink recommendation from our server but that fell flat because she wasn’t sure if NOCC was famous for any creation of their own…we settled on the Royal Street Fizz. Ordered our drinks and got exactly 1, singular, as in just the one and not with it’s twin. Waited a few minutes and when the server returned without another I asked if we were getting two drinks. She seemed puzzled at my question and when she finally caught up with what I meant she fumbled her excuse and returned with the other drink. For some reason she thought that a table with two people was fine sharing one drink. 🧐
Got the Cajun Calamari as the appetizer and it arrived very quickly, a bit too quickly unfortunately. The breading was falling off and calamari was not hot but almost room temp. Not sure if it was too cold before being prepared but it wasn’t pleasant to the palate.
Thankfully the red beans and rice was quite satisfying but it needed something…bread. Requested some bread and was told there would be a charge…turned out $4 for four (4) slices of lightly buttered chargrilled slices of French bread😳. Now we know, and have at least added a place to our private list of eateries visited.
Shannon Seifried
First night out in New Orleans and this place didn't disappoint. It was everything we expected if New Orleans and so much more. Thanks from the memories and can't wait to try this place again. Also Thanks to our Server Gerald. You where great. Thank you.
Deniece Reynolds
OMG...This place is amazing and the service is phenomenal! The charbroil grilled oysters was crazy delicious!
Angela Henry
Great food finding our first New Orleans night. Don't let the google counter into fooling you though when its says they're not busy. Reservations highly recommended. Only available seating was outdoors since we made that mistake. Outdoor seating was beautiful. Waitstaff, although short-handed, were super nice. The food, calamari, hushpuppies, red beans and rice, and the Taste of Louisiana, all excellent! Hope to visit again!
Alesandra Trilivas
Servers don’t have to go above and beyond but Wayntrel definitely did. We were sat immediately and were also brought water within minutes of being sat. Wayntrel pleasantly answered each of our many questions while also giving us time to mull over our decisions. Not once did we feel rushed to finish eating, which is important to note because it was a busy night and there was a line. Wayntrel was honest and updated us on any changes from the kitchen or otherwise. Additionally, Wayntrel went above and beyond and even conducted what I am deeming a mini photo shoot because I wanted only 2-5 photos, maximum. She took more than that and at multiple angles. Her graciousness was very much appreciated.
In addition to the great service, the food was equally good. I had the pasta creole, I believe, and it was some of the lightest yet flavorful sauce I have had in the south and with a pasta dish. The shrimp also was not chewy and tasted fresh. After dinner, we ordered the dessert and it is well worth the calories. The cheesecake tasted different than the mass produced cheesecake and the added touch of the presentation made it an experience.
17/10 would visit again.
Lari S
we set on the bar, first of all, the bloody marry was the best I had in my life , not kidding I go 3 and the bartender gave us more of the green beans cuz he saw how we got obsessed with it. The food from what we took was pretty good and I would definitely go back!
Jessica Reiling
Tasty, get the oysters and stuffed mushrooms. Red-beans and rice with sausage was delicious but only came with one sausage not two. Shrimp and grits were tasty but came out on the colder side. Overall the staff was super friendly and accommodating. Cute spot and great ambiance. Theres a little courtyard area that you walk through to get to the clean restroom area. The inside had charming and romantic feel.
Emily Teel
The atmosphere was very New Orleans. Food was good but not fantastic. Drinks were strong and worth the price. Service was quick but it was also a late lunch/early dinner time. If you are new to visiting NOLA and looking for a nice establishment to sample some Cajun creole cuisine I would recommend this place for one of your nice night outs or to get your night started.
Victoria Holloway
Great location, dog friendly, and great food. The drinks weren’t very strong for the price. But we would eat there again.
Katie Dube
So we went back a year later because we liked it so much the first time, and we ate there actually had reservations on Friday night and my husband ordered the New Orleans sample that had four different New Orleans dishes on one plate. And I ordered the blackened redfish. Both of them are really good we enjoyed them the same old magnificent bloody Marys that we had the first year we came. So we decide to come back on lunch Saturday afternoon and ordered what we had last time the chicken jumbo and the seafood gumbo respectively with a dozen of the chargrilled oysters. The oysters were perfect as usual my chicken and sausage gumbo was good not as good as last time but it was good my husband's seafood gumbo with watered down and tasted really not very good at all he didn't even finish it and we were pretty disappointed over that. It was so good the first two times that I would probably give it a fourth chance but if it was bad as it was the third time again I would never go there and never recommend it. This was November of 2022. The first review was last year pretty much the same time.
Didn't expect much and the food was a great surprise. Menus could use a cleaning, but the Creole gumbo, and the Yaya Gumbo were great, as was the grilled oysters. Next banana foster bread pudding. Might add... Best bloody Mary ever!! Super fresh. Impressive
Elizabeth Roland
Happy hour is a great deal here. The char broiled oysters are delicious - we got a second order we enjoyed them so much. We also really liked the firecracker shrimp. Not only was Whitney a great server, she recommended some fantastic cocktails.
Ronald E. Miranda Lazala
I like the place. Very tasty and interesting food.
Try the gator bites! It's soooo good.
Kasandra
Our waitress was amazing and attentive despite it being a busy dinner evening. I would skip the hurricanes here because the base mix tastes like cough syrup. The southern mules was perfect even though not in a copper mug. Both our entrees were delicious (see pics for reviews). Loved the oysters but was not a big fan of the alligator bites.
Arielle Yahnke
We had great service sitting at the bar. My husband and I both had the shrimp boil. My husband also enjoyed some oysters, he said they were fantastic. The food came out quick and hot. The service at the Oyster Bar was great. We only decided to come to this place because they accept reservations and we didn’t feel like waiting in line to eat on a busy Saturday night in New Orleans.
Jamie Leigh
We stopped here on the Doctor Gumbo food tour, and everything was delicious. The bananas foster bread pudding is something we probably wouldn't have ordered, but are so glad we got to try. It is amazing! If the weather is nice, definitely sit in the courtyard. This restaurant is in our list of restaurants to visit again.
J Balamani
Food was decent, the waiter was amazing! Tourist beware of the liquor tax as we ordered 3 drinks and we were charged $26 in liquor tax + the price of the drinks absolutely ridiculous!! They also have no crab meat so you will not be able to order anything with crab in it!
Aaron Amos
The food was fresh and good. I suggest sitting outside if there’s space! Do yourself a favor and order the hush puppies as well.
Shanead Marques
Grabbed happy hour and couple bites at the bar. Their chargrilled oysters were amazing (touch salty for me though), red beans and rice, and Cajun calamari. All in all, I’d recommend and will definitely be back. Service was friendly and great, too!
Carolina Salinas
Stoped for a drink and some starters, it’s pet friendly at the outside patio.
The Chard- Grilled Oysters where stoning and the service was great!
Niketa J
Omg, I came here to try their oyster special and it did not disappoint. Raw oyster 🦪‘s were $.75 cents and cooked ones were $1.25 which was an amazing deal. It was so delicious, that I plan on coming back tomorrow. Also, the staffs were so amazing. Chris, Damon and Will were so welcoming, friendly, and always came to check on my friend and I to see how everything was going. I’m just in awe with all this southern hospitality. Highly recommended this place. Best experience and customer service here.
Joe Sienkiewicz
The Happy Hour Oyster Bar special (3pm-6pm) lets you get raw oysters at .75 cents each, which is the best deal on oysters I've personally found. The oysters were big, fresh, and delicious. They also have a pretty good alligator sausage appetizer.
Otherwise, was not too impressed by the fried catfish and jambalaya that I got for dinner. My advice is to get an appetizer or two during the happy hour and then have dinner somewhere else.
James Mize
Good food and drinks for a good price. Fun, relaxing, rustic atmosphere within the old courtyard. Easily walkable from Bourbon street.
Mara Ellis
Had a great time chatting with oyster shuckers at the bar. Other patrons knew them well so you can see their personality is genuine. Grilled oysters perfect! Stuffed mushrooms were good too. Nice time overall. Oh highlight! They gave us a pearl found shucking the oysters!

Must try. Amazing food. The creole pasta, jambalaya and alligator bites are to die for. Drinks are inexpensive and strong. Beautiful scenery. Eat in the court yard if not to hot. Some of the best service here as well from host to waiter to cook.
Mike Melby
This is, hands down, THE best place to eat in New Orleans. The food is phenomenal, the atmosphere is So cool (especially the courtyard and the oyster bar) and the staff is very friendly. Can't recommend it enough. 10 out of 5 stars.
Mike Smith
Stopped in for some Linner. Food was very delicious and service was prompt enough for a large party. We had a party of 11 so you kinda of need to be a little less demanding. Our server did a great job keeping up once he got us going.
Derrick
Sadly, I forgot to take photos of all the delicious dishes we enjoyed. Everything from the Chargrilled Oyster to my Fried Catfish was absolutely delicious. We learned about the place on a food tour the day before. We were served one of best Jambalaya I've had and a flavorful Gumbo filled with tender meats and vegetables. Well worth stopping in. Food and service was top notch.
Kathryn Dubiel
We go here every time we're in New Orleans! They have the best gumbo whichever one you try, and we tried both. And the very best bloody Marys I've ever had in my life! I wish I had that recipe! Next time I go to NOLA I will ask for it.
Emily Haney
We sat at the bar and had a couple drinks and appetizers before going on a ghost tour in the middle of the day. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. I believe the cook behind the bar was a really nice young man named Tori who made us some chargrilled oysters to try and they were amazing. The drinks are a little pricy but are very well made. The firecracker shrimp was a good little mid-day snack to hold us over til dinner. Its not too crowded and the food and drinks were good quality for the price. I would definitely come back!
Matt L
Atmosphere was nice, very fitting for the area.
Was seated immediately. Could have been bad luck, but server was poorly attentive.
Entrees were good, not great. Quality & taste do not seem to support the pricing.
Rhommy Logerman
Great food! If you are looking for true New Orleans food, this is the place!
Phillip Hunter
The entire night was elevated by the most attentive server I have had the honor of being assisted by, her name I believe is Jackie. The food was delicious no doubt, the catfish did not disappoint but Jackie took my overall dinner experience onto a different level. A true asset to your team. Wide variety of drinks, nice location and good music.
Madisyn Valdez
Loved this place. We tried the Seafood and the Ya Ya gumbo. Both were amazing. The Bananas Foster Martini is a must try.
Kate Evans
Nice, cozy, warm atmosphere and delicious food! It was the best meal we've had in NOLA so far. The crab mushroom appetizer was heavenly. Honestly everything was just soooo good!
Jonathan Johnson
From start to finish, this has been a fantastic experience. From Google maps helping to find what we wanted to OpenTable getting us just the spot we needed. Oh, but then we got there. Terrell took care of us. His recommendation of the Catfish Decatur was spot on. A simple dish with everything New Orleans rolled in. But the amazing thing was that the catfish was piping hot from fist bite to last. What more could you ask for? Banana’s Foster cheesecake. Man, that was awesome too. We had a great meal, and we’re gonna remember it for a long time.
Rachel Campbell
Food was good! But sitting at the bar we observed one of the gentleman preparing the oysters was touching money with his gloves on and preparing food without changing them. And the horseradish sat out for the entire time we were here…
Brenda Ajaga
My ,my, I love the jambalaya! Today gumbo and catfish, burger and fries.
Hazel Rivera
The oysters was good. Food serving is best shared between two people. You get seated right away. Wait staff are courteous.
We had two kinds of pasta which were both good _ al fredo and jambalaya. Appetizing are also delicious.
Marissa Gulioso
Food was amazing! Gator bites were more of a sausage but the waiter made it very clear for us before we ordered them to make sure we weren’t expecting fried chicken-like gator bites. I ordered the shrimp and grits and it did not disappoint. Husband got the catfish. I do not like fish but I tried the catfish and it was so crispy and I actually liked it. For dessert we had the bananas foster bread pudding. It was scrumptious! Very good service. Cannot remember the waiters name but he had short braids.
Phil Ndegwa
Great vibe in the resturant real cool and relaxed atmosphere. Beer selection was weak which was surprising but also the fact that they were out of a few different oysters on the menu was also disappointing. I still rate them high because the food that was there was magnificent. Big portion, full of flavor and delicious. If they can work on the consistency of items on the menu then they can have that 5th star but I'd still recommend
Tiffany Blackwell
We really loved this place. The courtyard dining at night with a lot fountain and string lights was charming. The food was incredible. We are east coasters and love oysters and the chargrilled oysters were amazing. The sampler allowed us a taste of New Orleans and the banana fosters bread pudding was divine!! This is a must stop in the big easy!
Sarah Jean
Everything here was amazing, the food, the drinks and the customer service!!! I would definitely recommend the creole pasta when you go there.
Catlyn McHenry
You could tell from the start they were short staffed, but that being said our waitress was great. It took a bit for drinks to come out, but can't fault our waitress with having no one with her. The food and drinks were great when we did receive them! If we're ever in NOLA again we'd come back.
Don Sien
We always have a meal here and usually good/very good however, this time, it was fair/below average. Server was very slow & not attentive. Had to ask twice for lemon for water, ask for refills, ask for bread(she said will check & never came back with answer until we finished eating). She did bring check immediately & checked back to see if I had signed the CC slip!
Food was okay...tasty but small portions. Her Redfish Courtboullion was smothered in too much creole sauce. Try not to order the Cookery Trio appetizer...good but much too small portions for $18!
dave young
The food, drinks and atmosphere was GREAT! The service was horrible. The staff seemed like they didn't want to be there. Forgetting the orders and the wait to get utensils was a bit too much. With better service this place would be awesome.
C.W. Harper
The food and service was great. The chargrilled oysters disappeared from the plate. The crabcakes Napoleon was wonderful. I was expecting sauce on top but it was soaked throughout the crabcake and was fabulous.
Jody Webster
Okay, 3rd visit there. Disappointed in this visit. It was mid-afternoon, the place was empty in dining room, my wife and I were seated at the doorway for patrons and staff...1st 😤.
Then ordered my adult beverage....waitress brought us our waters, my wife's soda and said I'll bring your drink when it's ready....wait, wait, wait,....my wife asked me to stay calm so to enjoy our meal......finally, my wife asked someone about my beverage....waitress went immediately to get it and said she forgot....2nd 😠
Left 20% tip only because of my wife ...
We will go to our favorite from now on.. "Original Pierre Mospero's"!!!!
Ken Milstead
The bar is about to close and the AMAZING bar tender from Chicago (I forgot her name) made me a perfect drink. Then my life changed when I ordered charbroiled oysters from Manuel…this man is a true artist. I’ve eaten my way thru New Orleans dozens of times, but what Manuel was able to do with these oysters were nothing short of a religious experience. If this place could clone these two and strategically place them throughout the United States of America, the New Orleans Creole Cookery and it’s staff would be on the cover of every culinary magazine on the planet. Thank you so much Manuel and the Chicago Bartender from the Southside( I never got your name). You made my dining experience phenomenal.
Nitcher Small
This was a wonderful restaurant. Nice cozy atmosphere. Our waiter was very informative about the menu. I got the combo platter. There is a shortage on oysters but was given extra fish.
Kristina Bryant
The service was amazing and the food even better! I have had alligator bites before but these were sausage style and delicious. We also had the seafood gumbo and jambalaya for appetizers. We were full but couldn’t stop eating our entrees- crawfish étouffée and shrimp and grits. Smily was a great server and so accommodating for our toddler. We plan to add this stop to all of our return trips!
Alina Bellydance
Loved my charbroiled oysters and the bread pudding was to die for. Good service.
Bob Vitti
A scene out of a Hollywood blockbuster. A culinary delight. I laughed, I cried. It was better than Cats!
Brittani Gordon
Visiting from Chicago, we were expecting great creole food and let me tell you....New Orleans Creole Cookery was nothing short of AMAZING! In addition to great food, the service we received from our server Damen, was impeccable! He was very knowledgeable and detailed of every item on the menu. His explanations made your mouth water and wanted to try each item. Damen was very friendly and made pour experience here very special. He (as well as the food) will be the reason we will return to New Orleans Creole Cookery. Thank you for you outstanding service Damen!
Kathy Murdock
Our first meal upon arrival in New Orleans and it set the bar high! James, our server, was amazing and the food was even better. Our favorites were the red beans and rice, crawfish etoufee, and the crab cake Napoleon. The bananas foster bread pudding was delicious as well. Can't say enough good things about our experience. We may be back during our week here!
Athena Valdez
The food here was AMAZING. The old fashions were so wonderful I wish I could explain. The haunted story of this place is even better. Be sure to sit outside see if you see ghosts. SUPER COOL! We went twice and the service was great once and was terrible the second time.
Dean Stafano
Gator bites had a great spice. The catfish...OMG, I've had catfish, yet this was the crunchy crust covered in an excellent jambalaya so good that I want more! Be careful with the Bourbon Street Tea! Yow! That's a drink!!
Jill Easton
Best price on oysters on the half shell in. The French Quarter and they are opened as you watch. The jambalaya and red beans are a bit spicy for my taste and the seafood salad was short on salad. Good bar with many drink and beer choices.
Jack Scalfani
This place was just kind of trying to get by. The gumbo was OK. the chard oysters were really good. The jambalaya was OK. It was a little dry. The place was just kind of average. The servers were very kind the clientele was very kind. Look for my video review on Jack on the go show on YouTube.
Eva Gundermann
I enjoyed my lunch during Mardi Gras here. I recommend to book a table upfront, as it gets busy. I wanted to sit at a table and was in a dining room with a minimalist decoration that I found pleasant. There is also a large bar in another room, however there are many screens showing sports shows, which I don´t like. I love shrimps and found the shrimp creole spicy and tasty, the shrimps were fresh and had a nice texture. I appreciated the fact that they had Sauvignon blanc from Marlborough, New Zealand, by the glass. For dessert I had the New Orleans bread pudding, which was delicious.
Natalie Garr
Got the gator bites, crab stuffed mushrooms and fire cracker shrimp for an appetizer before going somewhere else. I feel like it was pretty expensive for the portions I.e. the mushrooms were great but seems like a lot for just two small mushrooms. Gator bites were amazing and fire cracker shrimp was awesome as well! I was so hungry and it was so good that I forgot to take a photo!
eric curtner
We were here as part of a food tour. The gumbo was good, but I was really hoping for seafood gumbo rather than chicken and sausage. But the restaurant has a really nice courtyard for outside dining.
AE Fiction
Great staff, awesome food! Go sit at the car you can watch them shuck the oysters! The Villon lemon drop is a beautifully crafted cocktail and the oysters are fresh!
Robert Lewis
We had a really nice dinner here this evening, and our server was super kind and did a great job. The inner patio makes a great spot to eat when the temperature is pleasant, too.
Jane Bulger
Average-ish food at best. I liked what I got but it was nothing amazing or out of this world. Also, was decently pricey.
Sara Long
They were fairly exasperated that we didn't have a reservation to begin with. Service was just ok. The food was just ok. My father's red fish was overcooked, as was my shrimp. The ettoufee was definitely not the best New Orleans has to offer and was over salted. The Pasta Orleans was just ok, tasting mainly of butter. The jambalaya was good, as was the red beans and rice and gumbo Yaya. Hushpupies weren't bad either. Overall, just ok.
M Castro
Very nice place for dinner. We got a table outside in a courtyard area. Staff was pleasant. Food was excellent. Little to no waiting. We will be back!!
Tyler Miller-Gordon
Service was great! The BBQ shrimp and grits were delicious, the Cajun calamari was yummy, drinks were good, and the atmosphere in the courtyard was quite agreeable.
Daniel Hughes
I loved the set up. We dined in the courtyard. Without the roof we were able to feel a cool breeze and listen to the music outside. The food itself was delicious. We tried a bit of everything and it didn't disappoint. It was a bit on the expensive side for what it is, but it was definitely worth going.
Luis Cordova
The char-oysters are excellent. We sat at the table top where they shucked the oysters. Had some fresh conversations with the guys there. You won't be disappointed.
Joshua Ryan
Fantastic food and atmosphere. Excellent oysters. I would recommend this place to anyone visiting Nola. Our server was unenthusiastic and lackluster, which was a bummer and I feel out of character compared to other places we have visited during our stay. Otherwise I’d give it five stars.
J. Tal
This might be the best crab cake I've ever had. I don't think I'll ever be able to try something else on the menu because I'm gonna get the crab cakes EVERY time. They have a ton of oysters that they open and clean right behind the bar, so it's a little stinky if you sit near by that end of the bar... but that's the way it goes, there are plenty of other places to sit. The bathroom was clean and I always appreciate a clean bathroom.
Justin Bowen
The food is top notch! Service was fantastic!
Pamela C
The atmosphere was great and the staff was friendly. The dinner came out quickly, but not sure why it took so long for the desserts. Ww took some fun pics while there because the fountain backdrop was beautiful. I hope to be able to visit again next year.
Christine Long
Totally underwhelmed. Service was beyond slow, for us and most of the tables around us. Drinks served after food arrived. Shrimp and reddish were both overcooked. Many better options in the quarter for dinner.
Stacia Sparrow
The food here was amazing and the atmosphere is beautiful! I highly highly recommend the chicken and sausage gumbo and Cajun fries, add a splash of Louisiana hot sauce to them and it’s perfect. They aren’t a spicy dish, but the flavors are delightful. Our waiter was Emil, and he went above and beyond to give us great recommendations on the food in the restaurant as well as places to go around town.
Common Sense
My wife and I were looking for a good restaurant to try local food and found this one on Groupon. Walked to the place, it had a great atmosphere with lively jazz music softly playing and an open courtyard, as well as a bonus Happy Hour sign with very well priced grilled oysters.
In the end we used the Groupon with the Happy Hour and had great food at an amazing price.
Our waiter Timmy was very friendly and helpful. He saved the first interaction after the manager looking employee was very gruff and impersonal, asking personal information without explanation (until I asked and he told us it was for Covid tracing).
Overall it’s a 5 star, taste, value, options, cleanliness, customer service. We are very happy customers :)
Rich Veale
Ok. Ok. First time in this place. Love NOLA but never ventured in. Visited for happy hour and was very pleased. The drinks were on point. I recommend The Big Easy. Half priced apps with purchase of a premium drink....WORTH IT! Calamari, Crab Cake, Chargeilled and Raw Oysters...Delish! And worth the money!
The Suarez
Great atmosphere and phenomenal food! Great prices for being right in the center of it all. The food was very delectable and our waiter Brandon Pierre made it all the better. He was attentive and always made sure our glasses were full and that we didn't need anything. If you're a seafood lover and want some good 'ol fashioned creole food? This is definitely the place for you.
Rahwa O
It was our first night in the city and the food was great, they had a birthday bread pudding for my husband and the server was great with recommendations for things to do and eat in New Orleans.
Lisa Lucero
THE BEST CHARBROILED OYSTERS!!!
Would 100% recommend anyone to eat here.
Tried to go back a 2nd time but by the time we went they were closing. I would recommend making a reservation.
Ezra G
Had the Creole Pasta and Calamari. The food was delicious and the serving size was generous. If you're looking for a good atmosphere, request the courtyard. Great service and fun atmosphere!
Ralph Rodrigues
Food was fantastic recommend get a reservation before showing up
Greg Johnson
The food wasnt bad. I would need to give this place another shot since they were closing. The crab cakes were lump crab meaty. The alligator bites were nice and red beans is usually pretty good down here. This location wasnt bad. The food was flavorful but not overpowering. I will try again
Maple Syrup
So very good. And the service was great. Kinda pricey but our Groupon deal made it worth it. My first time having charbroiled oysters and I'm hooked!
Annaleise Porta
Staff and food was wonderful. We had the taste of new Orleans, alligator bites, bananas foster bread pudding and key lime pie - all very good.
Melissa Prostrollo
We ate our way through New Orleans and this is one of the places we especially loved! We had two kinds of oysters - oysters bienville and charbroiled oysters - plus fried pickles, hushpuppies, wonderful crab cakes, seafood pasta and crab stuffed mushrooms. Everything was excellent, including our drinks (amaretto sour, bacon bloody mary and rose wine) and the service was wonderful. Our server was delightful and even took our picture for us by the beautiful courtyard fountain.
Daniel Murray
They are not your regular crab cakes but very good and tasty. My partner had the red beans and rice and says it's very authentic.
Peter Daniels
Friendly and resourceful waitress Takira. Jambalaya was great. The redfish Pontratran, crabcakes and stuffed mushrooms were all tasty. We used a Groupon to save 30 dollars. Only negative was they ran out of oysters.
Wade Heidmann
Ate here 3 times in under a week. It may be one of my favorite places in NOLA to eat! It was recommended by good friends, and they weren't wrong! Also our waiter (Timmy, I think) was amazing! Dont let him go.
Lang Nguyen
The food here was delicious, but my bloody mary was a bit mediocre. I felt like I could get a bloody mary like this back home in Dallas and I was a bit disappointed. I do have to say though, the pecan crusted redfish was to die for. Probably what I would recommend here! Our host sat us and told us that it was delicious, so we went ahead and listened to him and he did not disappoint.
Prajod
Out of the world char-grilled oysters, creamy, buttery, and cheesy. The Sazerac and the hurricane drinks were good too. I would go back for the oysters again.
anthonycap7
We thoroughly enjoyed this place! We received half price appetizers because we ordered a alcohol beverage. We also ordered oysters char-grilled for 1.25$ a piece they we really good with breadcrumbs and parmasen. The bacon bloody marry was exceptionally good. And the Entrée we ordered was Cajun pasta, it had shrimp, sausage, and chicken with a creole sauce. It was good but honestly didn't need the chicken. It was a bit spicy for my significant other but I enjoyed a little spice.
Brian Mosby
Conveniently located downtown. We came during a rush but they still found us a seat. The service was a little slow (cause of the rush) but the food was authentic and the atmosphere was good
Baelin Dawes
Delightful food, wonderful service (amber was a solid 10/10!!!). Prices are quite high, but what do you expect from an upscale restaurant in the French Quarter?
Would highly recommend!
C. B.
if you are in new orleans and you like to eat well you have to try this restaurant. the restaurant is very large with various rooms and has a unique atmosphere. The dishes are excellent and show a chef's research. you have to book or wait a lot. The wines are good and with a wide choice. The quality is excellent and the cost is not excessive. to try. I will return.
Floyd Garvin
Best place to eat in the quarter. I ate there nearly everyday of my vacation, I only switched for one day when I went to French Market Restaurant so I would have a basis of comparison. The French Market is not able to stand in this restaurant's shadow. I will be back in October, keep those oysters hot for me.
antonio martinez
Quickly became my wife and I’d favorite restaurant in Nola. The brunch menu and desserts were amazing! I had The jambalaya and my wife a catfish po boy. Not too fried. Cajun fries were delicious. Great service!
Monica Bastola (Elyse)
The calamari we tried were very well seasoned and crisp. Jambalaya was well seasoned too. I think too much rice.. I usually don't like Sazerac but they made it much better than other places in NOLA. The waitress was very friendly... Service was fast and the courtyard was very pretty
Neptune
Great service, great food, very cozy and romantic restaurant.
Mr fix it
We visited New Orleans and had to visit downtown. I really wanted two dishes while visiting, one being Creole and the other being jambalaya. I chose to indulge the Creole in this establishment and it was soo good. The shrimp was cooled perfectly and the sauce was tasty along with the rice. I enjoyed every bite of the dish. We also had the shrimp for appetizer with the hush puppies and they were also tasty. I would recommend this place if you want to enjoy authentic Louisiana dishes.
chad svastisalee
Quick bite for lunch and New Orleans Creole Cookery delivers! Kicked off our meal with fried pickles that were crunchy, not soggy. Gumbo was flavorful and packs a bit of heat. We marveled at the Crab cake salad as it was placed under a broiler just a tad to get the cheese crusted to perfection. Portions enough to share, great service at the bar and hostess.
Po Fu Cheng
Food is generally good. I ordered the chargrilled oyster and filet mignon. The filet is tender and juicy. The chargrilled oyster had too much parmesan and overly salty, but the oyster itself is fresh and plump. Service is top notch, and the indoor courtyard is beautiful with the lights at night.
Tyler Rasmussen
Wow! This place has an incredibly cozy atmosphere, especially if you sit outside. All the staff were super friendly and helpful and made the overall experience wonderful. The food is just a little expensive but for great food in this part of the city, it's to be expected. I'd definitely eat here again!
Mark Garrison
We found this place while browsing for dinner. Not to fancy, but really hearty food. The starter oysters were breaded and really good. The stuffed mushrooms were my fiance's favorite. I had redfish ponchatrain and she had a red beans and rice dish. Overall good experience with good service.
Franc P
Ok/good at an underwhelming value. The service was very good but kind of got the feeling the place was falling apart. Very dark indoor and outdoor seating. Tried a sample platter at over $35 that just fell short of expectations compared to other nearby competitors. Could not recommend to someone as there are just to many better alternatives.
Steve Wood
The best oysters you'll find anywhere.. They crack them open them from a big ice box from behind the bar then you choose which way you prefer to eat them.. Raw with lemon or grilled with garlic butter, cheese and spice..i had the cooked ones.. Truly amazing.. I'd eat here every day if I didn't live in England.. The staff are really nice also.. Try to get the oysters on happy hour. You'll get more for your money..
Katrina Jones
Beautiful patio area and the staff is amazing! I don't like oysters but our waitress insisted I try a grilled one... All I can say is OMG it was delicious!! And whatever cheesy yumminess it had on it was finger licking good!!! The servings of food is truly enough for 2. We ordered the Combeaux Platter with a side of Jambalaya and had to be rolled out of there, worst part is, it was so much food we couldn't finish it!!! The shrimp were a great size and the catfish was fried to perfection! Everything tasted fresh and amazing!
Alex MacPhail
Absolutely Love CC. Every time we are in town its a must stop. Atmosphere is the best, its quiet and romantic. Everything a place should be. Authentic Nola and LA dishes.
Brandi Harris
We had the creole pasta very tasty and plenty of food.
LA
Food was very good but a couple of the items were a little pricey for the portion size such as the red beans and rice. I've been to other restaurants that gave much larger portions of red beans and rice for about the same price. I don't mind paying top-dollar I just expect to get my money's worth. My wife and ordered the fried catfish, shrimp and potatoes. She said she never had fried shrimp that tasted so good,in fact, she stopped ordering fried shrimp years and years ago whenever we went out to eat. My daughter ordered the duck which she said was also very good. I ordered the fried catfish and potatoes and a side of red beans and rice, everything was incredible especially the potatoes. I got the fried potatoes two times at two different restaurants while I was down there and each time they use three different kinds of potatoes and let me tell you it is amazing. I don't know how they do it but they make it taste very good.
Regan Regan
My family went for new years Eve. It was just OK. Not Great, but we made last minute reservations due to unavailability elsewhere. If you have a chance to eat somewhere else, I would.
Mitchell I
Some of the best food we ate in New Orleans and with good sized portions! I had oysters and they were the bomb. I wish, our waiter was a bit more attentive especially considering how not busy it was, but would still go back. We even got to enjoy live jazz music!
Tiffany Shroyer
This is a gorgeous building with brick walls, exposed beams, and a great interior patio for dining. The food was excellent and the portions huge. I ordered the Creole pasta and can't recommend it enough. The waiter was very attentive, but not particularly friendly.
Dave Torres
Stopped in here for dinner on Sat May 4th about 8pm ish with a party of 10. We got seated super quick and the service was outstanding and super fast! My water was always full and the waiter was super cool and very professional with all of us. I forgot his name but my friends Stewart booked the reservation. Management, look up our info and reward the waiter! He deserves it. The food was amazing and well and every bite had flavor. I would definitely visit again next time I'm down here for a trip. 10 stars if I could! DT
Fred Long
I enjoyed the New Orleans cookery very much. We went there on a rainy day and it was kind of nice looking out the window at the weather while dining in a warm comfortable place. I tried a variety of food which came on a sampler plate. It consisted of shrimp creole, red beans and rice, jambalaya, and Etouffee. They all four were wonderful and I would highly suggest the sampler play. The staff was kind and attentive. The place was clean and very lively.
Linda M
Delicious food. Best crab cake I've ever had! Owner Solomon was extremely friendly and inviting. Nice restaurant in great area.
Damon Landrum
Late afternoon was a great place to relax and catch up on emails while wife was still shopping. Said simply "I'd like to sit in the courtyard and have a beer" and they obliged. Returned with wife an hour after I left for dinner and found out they were reservation only, so prepare for that if you plan on dining
Emmy McKenzie
Highly recommended. The staff was fabulous and the food was amazing. Try the firecracker shrimp appetizer- absolutely delicious! Our meal for four was ready in 20 minutes and every bite was delicious. This was the best place we’ve eaten at all week! The seating environment was gorgeous with a fountain and nice bathrooms. We will eat here again.
Toya Smith
Everything was amazing. Celebrated 40th birthday. I had the red snapper ponchatrain. Highly recommend!❤️
Lori C
Our waitress Celeste was very nice..efficient and attentive..beautiful place and delicious food
X L
Ahhh what a great meal the grilled oysters were the best. Staff is friendly and fast I highly recommend this place with a reservations of course
From start to finish it was smooth
John Ketz
Delicious food and drinks. Service was very nice but a bit slow. Good atmosphere.
Heather House
The last stop on our food history tour for dessert. Before Katrina, the location was an Irish pub which featured live music in one of the rooms. Now the menu hosts many cajun dishes. We were told the chrgrilled oysters are good and the Red Beans and Rice are phenomenal. We had the Banana Foster's Bread Pudding with Vanilla icecream. The dessert was heavenly and service amazing. I loved the brick mixed with a touch of elegance decor. Very glad Dillon incorporated dessert at the end. #doctorgumbo
J K
Such a great night! We went for my birthday dinner and our waitress was so sweet 💕 she sprinkled birthday sprinkles all over my side and even gave me a tiara 🙂. Very sweet staff and the food was amazing!! Creole at it's very best!
Tessa Wright
When you come here (and you definitely should it is AMAZING) ask for Kitty! He was the best! He told us all of the favorite local spots and gave us the best recommendations on the menu! He recommended the firecracker shrimp and it is the BEST firecracker shrimp!! It was so good we will be back before we leave town!
Glenda Hare
Monique was our server and she did an amazing job. The food was great and service even greater. Such a nice restaurant with quick service. Everyone was so helpful and accommodating. It was a great place for a romantic night out while on vacation in NOLA.
Tonya J
Great food & drinks! Chicken ceasar salad & voodoo drink was delicious! Awesome staff who greets you as your walking up! Servers are friendly & helpful with making the right selections on your meal also!
Gina Hope
Chargrill oysters best I've had. Happy hour specials are great. Entree portions huge.
O2
3 stars because my server provided slow service. I waited over 10 minutes to place my 1st order for alligator bites (BTW they were very good). I didn't receive the complimentary bread, until my main course. Overall, the food was great! I'd dine again
Devika Krishnadas
The food was really good. Best bread pudding and Key Lime pie we'd had through our trip. Service was good although a little slow. Regardless, I would definitely recommend this restaurant.
Zach Garia
Came here for the oyster special during happy hour. Kind of stinks that you have to buy the expensive mixed drink too so you can get the cheaper oyster prices but oh well. Chargrilled oysters were very good, also had some of the alligator bites which were great as well. Nice little bar area and you would definitely walk by it if you didn't know it was there.
Corey Strock
Stopped here on a Food tour and tried out their Gumbo, it was OK. I expect there are better though. My main complaint was that the bar menu had a bunch of great sounding drinks and they were out of several key ingredients, like Ginger Beer, so no Mules at all. Boo.
Frank Marino Jr
Food was great, Alligator sausage and Pasta Orleans was amazing. A must for creole cooking.
Serina Parke
If I could give this place more than 5 stars I would. This was my first time at this place. My boyfriend and his mom are here a lot. Their favorite waiter is Cory. Tonight we had a little bit of a bad experience with the wait on food and the waiter whose name I did not get. The manager DESTINY was amazing!! She helped us get our food and even took care of our meal for us because of the bad start to the night. Ordered the chicken jambalaya and it was delicious. Ten out of ten would come here again!!
Sheltina Jenkins
Service, ambiance, menu and server were great! Everything well seasoned! I was impressed
Arlie Keefhaver
Food was delicious. Cajun without being too spicy. Jazz player was quite lovely. Service was not very good though. Our waiter didn't check on us once during the meal and we had no refills.
T M
Emanuel and Torrey were working the grill and bringing pure southern comfort and joy to the experience. I cannot tell you how much I enjoyed the experience. If I could give Emanuel and Torrey 10 stars here, I would in a heartbeat. These guys made my last day of a 5 day trip unforgettable! I almost wasn't going to come back to NOLA because it didn't fit me. Until I found this place. Get the raw oysters! So fresh and sweet. Hospitality through the roof. Wow! This place is bangin'! HIGHLY recommended. Engage with the grill guys and let them make your day. Tip them well. They work hard in the heat. 100% amazing! Our bartenders were also friendly and fun and well deserving of the bucks we threw their way.
Janice Fleury
This place was fantastic. I loved all the exposed bricks. It had a old world charm to it. The food was wonderful. It was expensive but so worth it. Everything from the building, the staff and the food was a 10 out of 10. If I'm ever blessed to come back to New Orleans I'm definitely returning to eat here.
Andre
Nice atmosphere and good. First time doing an Old Fashion with Rum...Dam Good
Robert Bennett
Delicious upscale food in a beautiful little open-air courtyard. A bit pricey paying listed prices, but healthy discounts are available on Groupon.
Morgan DiBacco
We stoped here during one of our tours/ had the hurricane for a drink, gumbo and these amazing oysters!!!
Kim Rodriguez
First time in New Orleans. This place was so good. Went here for our food tour so we had to go for dinner turned around and went there for brunch the next morning. Let me say this was my favorite restaurant by far. Staff was nice and restaurant was very clean. Would have given a 5 star rating but there were items on menu we wanted and ordered but they took a minute to come back and let us know they were out of bread and oysters. Great restaurant to add to your visit.
J Y
Hands down best crab cake ever! My favorite restaurant in New Orleans! Also the manager looks like Murr from impractical jokers!
Martin Diez
The food is really good and tasty, the patio is super nice, pleasant and calm. We really liked this place.
Nicole Roberson
Great selection, fair pricing and great service. Everything was a Hit!! The Char-broiled oysters, Pasta Orleans, Jambalaya, gumbo & crab cakes!! Only minor challenge...the inside of the crab cakes we're cold. But, they ratified immediately with a new full entree' of crab cakes...still cold but, not as cold. Excellent service! Definitely a must try!!
Cesar Vargas
The food is tasty and the service is regular.
The low point was spotting a cockroach strolling by the dining hall.
Kim Davis
Chargrilled oysters, gumbo, and Moscato were delicious! We also left our credit card at the restaurant, and couldn't have picked a better place for that to happen! Thank you, N.O. Creole Cookery, we'll be back!!!
Jennifer Wilson
Voodoo Shrimp and Blackened Red Fish with gulf shrimp. Amazing food and amazing service.
Will definitely be back next time we come to New Orleans!
Michael Long
We just stopped in for a dozen on the half shell.
Terrible service and a long wait even though we were literally the only people eating at the bar at 2 pm.
The oysters were good. Plump and sweet. They could have been colder is the only complaint.
Really expensive. Tab was $20 for a dozen and 2 waters.
KOKO'S RANDO REVIEW
Last day in NOLA brought me this cute quaint courtyard for an early dinner with my furchild. Looking at the menu I had NO idea what to pick because everything sounded great. The waiter recommended I get the Tate of New Orleans dish which had Jambalaya, Crawfish Etouffee, Shrimp Creole & Red Beans & Rice. Each tasting better then the next!!! I almost finished the whole thing because it was so delectable. To drink I had Poppys Voodoo Juice which I HONESTLY didn't expect LOL it came in a traditional tourist plastic bottle!! It worked out wonderfully because there was no way I was finishing that drink during dinner and I was able to take it with me for the rest of my night out in town. They also accommodated me and made a few strips of chicken for my furchild, he had no complaint. If I could make a suggestion it would be to offer water bowls for the dogs like most of the restaurants I encountered did. It was no big deal for me as I always go prepared when traveling with my furchild.
Richard Hages
Red beans and rice were barely luke warm but tasty, gumbo ya ya was good but also not warm.
Adam Riemer
This is your standard run of the mill tourist type of place. It wasn’t amazing and wasn’t bad. Just somewhat in the middle. I’d recommend it for a family meal or a large group, but not for date night or fine dining. If you want to watch a game and drink, then this is a perfect spot.
Dominick Daniels
The food was good but was lacking in the desert department and so disappointed that the gator bites contained pork I really wanted to try it
Ashley Altenbernd
The food was incredible and the service was excellent. We just happened on this place by chance and we could not be happier. I feel terrible I can't remember our servers name, he had long hair, but he was amazing taking care of us.
Elgin Whavers
Great service. Our waiter was the best! He answered everything superbly. He highly recommended the grilled oysters. I did not disappoint. Some of the best I’ve had in a while. The grits and shrimp are also great. It’s a little pricey but you get your money’s worth for sure. If it’s a cool day, be sure to eat on the courtyard.
Jin Kim
Tasty calamari and creole. Food came out very quickly.
Don Camp
The food is outstanding as well the staff. Fast, friendly and fun. What more could you ask for? This restaurant is a must to visit when in town.
C. A.
Wonderful customer service 10/10. Great filet mignon (medium well), practically melted in your mouth. The white wine was crisp. Enjoyed (way too much) the fresh bread for the table.
Arti Desai
The food and atmosphere, both were amazing! The service was great! Very accommodating to my table move custom requests!!
G. Cherry
Great place for lunch or dinner! One side is the bar and the other side is the restaurant. The restaurant side it seems as if the air conditioner worked better. The Service efficient, I sat at the bar and able to watch the oyster being prepared. Nice atmosphere, Good Food.
David Barnett
We stopped into this restaurant on a whim while wandering. Turned out to be some of the best food we had. The red fish was delicious and cooked perfectly.
Art Without Fear
this used to be one of my favorite oyster/happy hour spots in french quarters. you have to sit @ bar for happy hour prices on oysters. and sometimes there wasn’t any seating but i understood that. a lovely french 75, oysters & gumbo were all loyally consistent. last two times i went, i was completely shocked and dissatisfied. the roof was leaking so there were buckets everywhere. oysters, no bread. the last time i sat @ a table. same bucket
and water everywhere issue.
no oysters … no bread. and the bartenders relief was running late so she didn’t even want to make drinks lol
aside all that. phenomenal filet mignon! clean restrooms. outdoor seating. friendly staff
handicap accessible.
Kevin Glass
We were a party of 6 and all decided to try this place. We were nt disappointed. Great creole food. Not overspiced but you definitely feel the kick. It doesn't matter which menu item you chose we think you will be satisfied.
Joshua McGinley
super fresh crab legs! just absolutely spectacular! my girlfriend loved her creole etouffee... and her cat 3 alcoholic beverage!!
Jonathan Gluck
Outstanding raw and chargrilled oysters. Delicious Cajun style hush puppies. Beautiful ambience live music outdoor seating and helpful staff.
James Driscoll
Great spot for some New Orleans cooking. Started off with the Crab Cake Napoleon which was great. Moved on to the Crawfish Etouffee and Pecan Crusted Redfish which were both great dishes. Finished off with the Banana Foster Bread Pudding. All dishes came out hot and service was very attentive. Restrooms were large, clean, and muti person use. Manager seemed to appreciate all feedback, positive and negative. Give this place a try.,
Sherry Dannenberg
It was ok. We came around 4pm and maybe that is why it was not as organized-tables partially set including ours- and the attentiveness and speed of service were lacking. Their sister location was amazing the night before around 6:30pm.
Charles Young
My wife and I had such a wonderful dinning experience at the New Orleans Creole cookery, our Waite staff was fun and curtious, our bar tender Wes was a freaking blast, and Solomon the manager was awesome, and the food was fantastic, when we get back to the BIG EASY, the New Orleans Creole cookery is going to be our first stop. Thank you all for such a wonderful experience.
Telisha L. Emerson
The Southern Cooler, Taste of New Orleans, and Bananas Foster Bread Pudding we’re so good! Well seasoned food.
Cheryl Winey
Awesome atmosphere! Fast
Service and Good food!! We had the chicken and sausage gumbo, shrimp salad, and blackened redfish. ALL of it was delicious!!!
Andrew Roberts
The food was good. Ordered the filet medallions and they were cooked perfectly. The service, on the other hand, needs improvement. Our server outright forgot our appetizer and soft drinks. The restaurant was not busy.
ARANTXA BOBY
Food is amazing.. the char-grilled oysters were wonderful, it was my first time trying oysters and I wasn’t so sure, but this was great! Loved the voodoo juice as well.. it’s a good idea to get reservations if you want to sit at the courtyard.. I was a little disappointed that the live music was already done by 9 on a Saturday night..
J B
Absolutely delicious!!! Great atmosphere! The chargilled oysters were so good we ordered another dozen!!!! Service and food were amazing!
Blue Tyger
Kinda pricy but food is so good and flavorful. Crab cakes yum, calamari yum, red beans yum. Haven't tried the red fish yet, their specialty. Servers were nice.
Mitzi Fecht (Pure Romance by Mitzi)
Food and atmosphere were phenomenal. Our waitress was good but she didn't have that southern hospitality we were thinking we would have! She was just very blunt and not super kind! But we'd definitely be back next time we're in NOLA. That calamari we had was scrumptious!!!
Donnya Burns
Absolutely Delicious!! Gumbo, Jambalaya and Chargrilled Oysters were all On Point!
Keith Levasseur
Took the cooking class and was very impressed. Delicious food and a great experience!
Hannielle Per
My bf and I went to New Orleans for a couple of days and somebody recommended this place for dinner. We did not regret going at all. We started with some char-grilled oysters which were absolutely delicious, then I had the red fish w pecans. It came with some greens beans and potatoes as sides, it was ok but I felt like it was a bit too dry for my taste. My bf had some shrimps and grits and it was on point.
S Spencer
Sasha is the best waitress ever- super personable, knowledgeable about the menu, and makes you feel at home. Food was good and had a great night.
Lesley Powell
Decent welcome and menu. Service was a bit hit and miss, either miscommunication or our server was on another planet.
Food varied but mostly average. Big portions. Timing was varied too. One starter arrived with the main for the same person. No apologies or discount or reward "sweetener" offered.
Jaime Petrykiewicz
Wine Wednesday half off bottles of wine is a great deal, food was delicious and staff were friendly and very helpful. Great atmosphere for some local cuisine.
Fabio Feliziani
Jambalaya and red beans with rice and andouilla.
Emiliana Leyva
I really wanted to like this place but for the price and considering the subpar service, I think you’re best off at a more “mom and pop”/“hole in the wall” while in French quarter. Atmosphere is gorgeous but outside of that, nothing to write home about.
Alicia Johnson- Samuels
Good drinks, great ambiance! We had a dish crises, and it was promptly changed. Overall good time.
Kelly Hicks
My food was great(redfish) - my husband's not so much(shrimp). Server was super nice but very slow and at times forgetful. Overall, a good experience but would try somewhere else next time. I did love that I could have my dogs on the patio!
Alena Sanchez
Alligator bites are a MUST!! Drinks are delicious! My mushroom pasta was pretty bland, but my bf liked his New Orleans sampler!
Bill Waters II
Told it was a wait, sat at bar no wait. Best value and unbelievable chargrilled oysters. Would go back over any other spot
Mel Pavon
The staff was very friendly, funny and engaging. The quality of the food is above average. One of our go to places.
Cathy Caruso-Moritz
OMG the fish I had was utterly divine! Service was really good and dining in the courtyard was romantic.
Robert Tonkinson
Solid food. I like lots of salt and three of the four parts of the taste of New Orleans menu item were too salty for my taste.
Julie Ropson
Very sweet server, food was good. The atmosphere was nice but extremely cold.
Sungil Hong
I will recommend if you’re new in New Orleans.
Ashley Schuler
Cute little place we found off of Google! The chargrilled oysters were amazing and the jambalaya too!
Christina Gonzales
This is HANDS DOWN my favorite restaurant in New Orleans right now. We sat outside in the courtyard area. We had great service and EXCELLENT food. Loved the chargrilled oysters. Taste of New Orleans was great (Jambalaya was a little dry to be fair). But, the Red Beans and Rice was the BEST I've ever had in my life!!! The bread pudding dessert was beyond delicious! Seriously, a really great experience.
Kim Lott
The ambiance was nice, especially the outdoor area. The wine and wine selection was good. Our was was just ok. The 'gator bites' we're sausages alleged made out of gator. They tasted like salty kielbasa. My crab cakes Napoleon were advertised as 5 delicious layers but we're in fact just 4 crab cakes in 2 stacks on a bed if lettuce with 2 cherry tomatoes. They were average tasting. Our server was very nice.
Mitch Zuckerman
As we finished our meal, we asked for another round of drinks (a glass of wine and a cosmopolitan). The waitress, who was wonderful, came back several minutes later to tell us the bar was backed up. Another 10-15 mins later the waitress returned to apologize that she would keep a look out for our drinks. I became inquisitive and visited the bar. This is a busy restaurant. There was one bartender who was busy separating her paper orders. She seemed to be complaining to someone about the workload. When I asked her about our drinks, she called the manager over who seemed to agree that it was completely appropriate to wait at this restaurant for a half hour or more for drinks. That surprised me. We would have spent more time here but cancelled our drink order and paid our bill. Don't get me wrong, we thought the food was great and our waitress can not be faulted. She was great! Tell the manager he should learn to be more understanding that such a wait is not acceptable and at least deserves an apology. It certainly seems that more than one person managing the bar is needed for this busy restaurant. And the woman tending bar seemed more interested in organizing her long list of requested drinks rather than tending to satisfying those requests.
Casey Russell
1st experience when we arrived to New Orleans was fantastic. It was great. The Charbroiled oysters were great. Service was fantastic
2nd experience was terrible. We were there 15 minutes and nobody even approached our table. Tried to signal the waiter 2 times. We got up and left
Blake Edwards
Good food, great service! Amazing waiter, so nice!
Dennis Wietecha
Omg the food was phenomenal. We got the shrimp pasta and it was wonderful. The char-grilled oysters were also to die for. Only room for about 20 people, but well worth any wait, although we did not have one. Been here for a week now and definitely the best so far!
Jessica A
Glad I tried this place. I had been eyeing it for awhile. I had the red fish ponchartrain and it was a little dry, but asking for extra sauce helped. The food tastes farm to table fresh and was really good. The gumbo not so much, but some people in my group loved it.
Frank Meraz, Sr.
The staff was extremely warm and welcoming. Socially interactive with us and other patrons. Thumbs up.
Meri Slaughter
They were incredible about accommodating my food allergy. Someone from the back of house came to my table to work out a fantastic meal around my dairy allergy. They were able to make me their blackened red fish, green beans, and some potatoes all sauteed in oil instead of butter. We will definitely be back.
K
Got a voucher for this place from an employee of the hotel we we're from. Free glass of wine per entree. Got the gator bites as an appetizer and the shrimp creole as my entree. I wish I got something else because , while my shrimp entree was amazing, I saw many fantastic looking dishes around me that I wished I could've tried.
Tyrone Brown
Decent atmosphere, our waiter was extremely nice, and the food was delicious! Drinks were very good but very weak as well. Food is a little pricey and they close kinda early on weekdays.... but overall.....we were satisfied!!
Glass House Xperience
This restaurant was the first place we ate, had catfish for the first time. I have to say the food was really hot (tempature wise) and the catfish was cooked perfect on top of jambalaya. The portions are really big so we both took left overs home. My husband got the taste of new orleans, it was okay. Found it a bit pricey there.
Liz Kellogg
Creole Cookery was my favorite restaurant out of the seven I went to during my weekend in New Orleans. First, the food. Portions were large and the food arrived very quickly. It was hot and delicious. Very flavorful and cooked well. My favorites were the voodoo shrimp and bread pudding. Great value for both as well.
Our server was Ricardo and he was wonderful. Very knowledgeable about the menu, but most importantly - fun! He had a great attitude and made recommendations for other restaurants and activities. Very attentive as well. Also, the host was pleasant on the phone when I called to make a reservation and we were seated upon arrival (no wait).
The atmosphere is phenomenal. An open courtyard, with good music and lighting.
Honestly 10/10 experience and cannot wait to return! :)
steve kunze
We had a wonderful dinner here. The staff was very knowledgable about gluten free products and worked with us to ensure we got exactly what we wanted. Expect to trade slower service due to freshly prepared items. A little pricey but you get what you pay for. I would highly recommend and look forward to our return trip.
Reese Ford
It was an amazing seafood restaurant to eat at! Great waiter (Corey), perfectly cooked food, and a drawing from another waiter (I don't know his name, but his IG is @we.r.ur.frnz. Check it out!) 10/10
molly semke
I HAVE to come here every time I visit New Orleans, the food is amazing, and I love to sit in their court yard. The oysters are to die for and the seafood is awesome. I've never had a bad thing here.
Lea Huggins
Best chargrilled oysters! During Happy Hour with the purchase of an alcoholic beverage the chargrilled oysters were $1.75 each.
Dulce Garcia
Nice sit down, but nothing to rave about. Food was good, but I have had better a d at a better price.
Debbie Peden
The happy hour chargrilled oysters and raw oysters were well-priced and delicious! Staff was friendly and attentive.
Tic Shooter
Good food good price! We were a party of 8 and we came in at 8:50. They told us the kitchen closes at 9. We were really looking forward to eating here so they sat us down even though it was almost closing... They didn't rush us, explained the specials, served us drinks and took our order. We mentioned it was my daughter's birthday and next thing you know after our dinner plates were cleared,, a HUGE plate of ice cream cake came out along with plates and spoons for all of us to share! The service, food, cleanliness, everything was excellent! So glad we ate here and if in NOLA again, we'd return.
Richard Talley
We have been to New Orleans 2 times in the last 2 months and this is the only restaurant we ate at twice! Food is delicious!
Lee Folino
I think they were short-handed due to the freeze, which unfortunately impacted service. The food was outstanding!!
Kaleb Wilkes
This food was sooooo good!!! I can't speak for all the meals but I got a Catfish and Shrimp Basket and it was some of the best fried basket I've ever had. I also tasted the Jambalaya and it hands down the best Jambalaya I've had so far. This place is by no meand underrated. The waiter was very nice and attentive. I pove the city of New Orleans and this restaurant was more than exceptional.
mark lyons
Wow. Great food and service. Love this place and it's hidden courtyard and bar. The bar also makes non alcoholic drinks. Try the bread pudding. Absolutely the best we had in NOLA!
Angela Harbaugh
Fantastic food! Used a Groupon without problems. Super yummy Hurricane (level2) as well. Hubby had the seafood pasta, Dad had the sampler - loved them both! Awesome wait staff!
Maria James
Stopped on our way from Pensacola to Houston. The food was delicious!!!! Will definitely be back!!
Wilson Ponton
Went here based on reviews and recommendation. Not impressed at all. The wine glasses were dirty, dining room was dark and the entrees we had not appetizing. I ordered the taste of new orleans and my wife had the redfish ponchatrain. Not worth the the cost we paid.
Chris Murphy
Absolutely one of the better affordable places to dine in the quarter. Great gumbo, awesome crab cakes and really great staff. Go often!
Phill Moran
It was ok, but there is better. The quarter is still in revival and staffing is an issue. The service was friendly, but slow. The food was OK.
Renee Lynch
Really great food , nice courtyard, great service . Char broiled oysters are delicious.
Heather
Place was nice, Terrill was our server and he was very knowledgeable and helpful with the menu. They had the most delicious crabcakes I've ever had.
Adrian G.
Some of the best and biggest oysters in New Orleans and that is a bold statement. No lie the picture does not do them justice. A little hidden gem with great food, live music, fantastic drinks and superb service.
Chuck Shubert
Had a wonderful meal on Thanksgiving. Good drinks and food. Would definitely eat here again.
Ekaterina Pugacheva
The food is good, especially the layered crab cake (the best crab cake I ever ate!), but boy is it loud here. I don’t know if it’s low ceilings and no sound dampening or we just got “lucky” with obnoxious neighbors yelling and laughing into our ears every once in a while, but this made our otherwise pleasant dinner miserable during those moments.
Timothy Sanford
Food was great! Definitely recommend eating in their outdoor area.
Aymara S-G
AMAZING!! The food and dessert were tender for. Our waiter was great and the restaurant was clean, had a good vine and beautiful inside and the courtyard has a fountain.
Josh Reddinger
Food was fine. Tasted good. Temp not hot enough. Martini was horrible. All vermouth. The glasses all 3 of us had drinks served in were the dirtiest glasses I've ever experienced in my life. Hazy. Still had what appeared to be previous lipstick marks on rims. Just turned me off to everything else about the place. At one point atleast 4 serve staff were on their phone standing next to each other at the bar for 5-10 mins 3 feet from us. Had to ask one of them to take our check. The host was very accomodating, but that was about it

DID ANYONE SAY, LOUISIANA SPECIAL?
If you are ever lucky to experience New Orleans, you MUST try jambalaya and gumbo with a side of oysters of course. Jambalaya is by far my favorite because growing up in a first-generation filipino American household rice was a big part of the culture and gave me much comfort. The dish incorporate Cajun flavors and will surely make you full.
At New Orleans Creole Cookery, you will be wow'd by more than the building, but by the level of service they provide. The staff is extremely attentive and the jambalaya is the bees knees. I could eat their jambalaya everyday - the rice is perfectly cooked and the chicken is so tender and moist.
Personally for me, I'm not a big fan of gumbo. Thick soups are not my favorite but nonetheless, the flavors are still bold.
And lastly, I have never enjoyed oysters. But something told me to give this one a try and I am glad I did. There was ZERO hint of the ocean and salt water scent that oysters usually have. In fact, it wasn't salty at all. Instead it was drenched in garlic and cheese - how could this not be the best oyster ever? Only thing it was missing was bread crumbs but, I understand the hesitation with those who cannot have gluten. Still, I would definitely eat this oyster again and again.
Thank you for the hospitality!
Tina Rock
Absolutely delish and included outdoor seating, which was very nice. Our waiter, Timmy, was great!
Dave H
5 stars for the excellent food, although overpriced for a lunch. Great service, although noisy and difficult to hear others without yelling. 2 of the 3 overpriced drinks that we ordered seemed watered down. We couldn't taste the rum.
Jan Burger
We had an oyster feast during happy hour. Try freash oysters with tequila and Tabasco. We also tried the alligator bites. Try them too!
Key Cheatham
Redfish! OMG! This was my first time eating redfish and oh how wonderful it was! Everything about this meal is amazing. The ambience is great. The service was a tad bit slow.
Jennette Roberts
We love this place. Highly recommend the duck and pecan-crusted redfish. Gumbo Ya-Ya for the win! Nice ambiance
Terrymaureen Nganga
Love love this place. The food is yummy, atmosphere is great, friendly stuff... even the ghost is friendly too.. I mean it doesn't get any better than that
Natilee N
They had reat food and impeccable service - we really enjoyed our stop here 😊 …
Ken Lewis
The food was great, best key lime pie I've ever eaten and I've eaten it a lot!!
Dajha Morgan-Finlayson
Great food, great atmosphere! I had terrible crablegs at another restaurant and these definitely made up for them.
Tasha Renee
I was on vacation we ate lunch here 2 days in a row the staff was so nice the food and drinks was amazing.
Nancy Parks
Great local color...recommended during walking food tour of the French Quarter which was well worth it!
Melissa Neyor
Absolutely delicious food, cooked in the traditional creole style with amazing ambiance, live jazz and our server, Brandon Pierre was a delight. Best place for our first night stay in NOLA and really set the bar high for the rest of our trip!
Sarah Haigh
Fantastic that they had gluten free menu. The courtyard is beautiful. The cocktails are really tasty. The food, well where do I start? It was delicious. The best food I have had all week. The blackened redfish was amazing. I had a seafood starter with red beans and rice and it was out of this world. So glad I stumbled across this place. Well done on the GF menu as I have found this difficult here.
Marcia Rieke
We enjoyed several dishes including fried oysters which has become my favorite way to eat them. The flavor of the oysters comes through better than dishes with sauces. One negative was service which was slow although the server was very personable.
Jamila Weaver
Food was very good. However, prices online did not match prices of restuarant. Also it was freezing inside.
