Reviews of Jimmy J's Cafe

The food here was really good! We arrived 15 minutes before they closed at 2PM, and they were still nice enough to seat us and take good care of us without rushing us out, and did the same with a couple that arrived even closer to closing. We all really enjoyed our food, we wanted breakfast in the middle of the day and they sure delivered. The place is cute and the service was good. Only regret is that we only went once during our stay in the city, can see ourselves being regulars if we lived in the area.

GREAT FOOD! GREAT SERVICE! AMAZING ATMOSPHERE! Our server, (the beautiful young lady who had black and red hair at the time) had my family's taste buds pegged and provided the best recommendations. Bloody Mary was amazing according to hubby. My children had her make us her special flavored lemonade and they ordered some to go too! Mark was also very helpful. Glad we went at a time when it wasn't to busy.

So this place has some really really good food. We had about at 38 minute wait but it was well worth, Saturday morning so that’s expected. We ordered the western omelet, which was served with crispy home fries. I ordered the shrimp French toast made with garlic aioli served with a side of hot cheesy grits. The waitress was very attentive and the food came out rather quickly. This place has some awesome breakfast and definitely recommend eating here when in New Orleans!

Food was DELICIOUS and the service was AMAZING!
From my recent trip to New Orleans - this was my favorite place that I ate.
We sat on the patio so we had no wait at all to be seated which was great. We enjoyed some mimosas while checking over the menu.
I felt there were a lot of good options - I went with the Crab Cake Benedict which was absolutely delicious. It had so much flavor, and the poached egg was cooked nicely.
Our server, Frankie, was great! He gave us recommendations on the menu that we loved and he was extremely pleasant.

This was easily the best place we went to in New Orleans. Chill atmosphere, good food. My one complaint was that the bacon was mostly fat and not cooked long enough for my liking.
The fruity pebble french toast definitely made the banana's foster seem very mild by comparison. If you're someone who tends to stick to french toast with syrup, it was a nice change of pace and wasn't overwhelming. I thought the banana might have actually been plantain because they weren't sweet and were more starchy...but I just brushed them to the side.

I ordered the shrimp and grits and a side of crab cakes. Everything was delicious. I did wish I had whole shrimp or even larger ones. They cut the shrimp in half; grateful, I ordered the crab cake to eat along with it. The waiter was terrific and externally friendly. My party chooses to eat outside due to not wanting to wait. The neighborhood smells at times were not too friendly. But it was not the worst.

This was an excellent breakfast place. It is small, but very cute, love the wall decorations. The food was fantastic. I had the crab cake Benedict, F*****g good is all I’m gonna say, I don’t know how I’ll ever eat crab cake Benedict anywhere else. Asked for peach tea, Which came with a little twist, I think I was a little tipsy by the time I left. My boyfriend had the grits, he liked his dish as well. Our waiter “Drex”, very nice and attentive. The service was pretty fast although we were there early by the time we left there was definitely a line but I would say that it is worth it. The prices are very reasonable. A must go in my opinion.

Our waitress Marilyn was great. Her patience was greatly appreciated. I had the pork chop with eggs Benedict (recommended by Ms. Marilyn) it was amazing! My sister had the shrimp and grits and let us tell you it was not like the shrimp and grits(bacon added) we've cooked! The grits were well seasoned and the shrimp were cooked just right! Such a great breakfast! The mimosas were made very well also! If you're looking for great flavor, good music nice home feel this is the place for you and your family!

We stayed in the The Marriott across from Jimmy J’s Cafe. I had this on my places to try while we were in NOLA. We ended up ordering takeout so we could eat in the room. Ordering was easy and the food was ready, hot and delicious at the promised time. I was warmly greeted with a smile and promptly handed our order. Shrimp and grits doesn’t photograph well, but it sure was good! My husband had the steak breakfast burrito and said it was good.
Regan Sur
Such a cute little whole in the wall to get brunch! Amazing food! I went with 3 other girls and we each got something different and we couldn't stop eating what we got! Great service and wonderful staffing!
Matthew Milner
Good food but a long wait. I'm not sure I would wait again, but it was enjoyable. Make sure you read your menu. My food was good, but I thought it was coming on a biscuit, not on french toast. The sweetness threw me off because I wasn't expecting it. Good food though.
Shauna Ronan
Absolutely delicious! Tried the side of sausage gravy and biscuits, trio Benedict, and fruity pebbles French toast. Each one of them was ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! Eggs were poached to perfection and the cream cheese sauce on the French toast could not have hit the spot any better for something sweet!
Definitely will be back every time I visit New Orleans :)

What a lovely spot! Came here Saturday and Monday! First time in I had a regular Bloody Mary, Eggs Benedict, and shared beignet sticks to start. My friend had the Tomato Benedict and a bloody. All so delicious and had a great experience with Nicole B (I forgot your name so I hope the ticket name is right). Very friendly staff and very busy once they get rolling. Thank you so much! We will definitely be back next time we visit!

The best shrimp and grits I’ve ever eaten. Being that I’m local, I’m skeptical about eating in the FQ because sometimes the food is bland. Well not at this place! Everything was delicious and I’m looking forward to coming back. I ordered shrimp and grits with a chocolate chip pancake. My husband ordered French Toast Monte Cristo and I regular pancake. We both cleaned the plates fast.
Cecilia Dean
Fantastic staff, delicious food, reasonable prices, a true gem. Ordered the shrimp and grits, HIGHLY recommend if you order this, to ask for cheesy grits instead of regular, really completes the meal. Drinks are great and also a little on the strong side! Can’t recommend enough
Tory Orozco
My family enjoyed their breakfast, I did not. My western omelet was mushy inside (like all the peppers, onions and ham were steamed to oblivion) and overcooked on the outside. Everyone else all loved their eggs Benedicts and french toast. It was a teeny tiny place so I'd recommend to go on a random weekday. We got lucky and had no wait. Service was quick and friendly.
John Westbrook
Cochon Eggs Benedict was amazing, house fries are amazing breakfast potatoes. Crawfish Eggs Benedict was beautiful. Crab cake Benedict was the best we’ve ever had. Shrimp and grits was life changing. Captain crunch French toast was really good. Quickly sat, very small restaurant, prices good, service quick
Akkia Martin
Came in for 7am got seated immediately…cute little restaurant. Friendly service and good food! The crab cake Benedict was really good as well as the crawfish Benedict and the fruity pebbles French toast. Will return.
Bryan Brauser
Only minor negative was the music was a bit too loud to be able to converse at your table. But the food was outstanding. The servers were very friendly and helpful. Would definitely visit again!
Eugene McCown
We ordered the Shrimp & Grits and French Toast Breakfast. The Shrimp & Grits were very tasty. The French Toast was good, but thin. The pork sausages were very tasty!
Lovan
Service was spectacular, our wattress was extremely patient and gave us an incredible dose of Southern hospitality. Food was bomb! Had the bananas foster pancakes which were flavorful as well as a ham egg and cheese croissant. Also was able to try the fruity pebbles French toast which was 10/10. Highly recommend this place!
Christian Meiley
Great breakfast spot. Ordered the Benedict with the braised pork. Out of this world. Eggs poached perfectly. Instead of an English muffin, the base was a fluffy, flaky and crispy biscuit.
Great drink. Irish coffee is balanced perfectly and the hurricane is a good one to take for the road.

Jimmy J’s charming staff and quick service allows for a very fast turnover in customers - we barely waited 6 minutes in line to get in !
The food was good and just what you expect from Louisiana cuisine - what really makes this café standout is their decor. They’re not joking when they call themselves “N’awlins’ Funkiest Lil’ Café” - caricatures of jazz and soul music pioneers, tinted windows, and painted skateboard bottoms are just some of the things you’ll notice while you’re eating.
Angela Lovell
This is probably the smallest cafe I've ever dined in. The food was good. The mimosas were great. There is usually a line for brunch, but it moves quickly.
Szu-Min Yu
Such a cute brunch place! The decor was on point with Jazz and old French Quarter vibes. The food was amazing. The crawfish cake Benedict, crab cake Benedict and the omelette were all tasty. Also the Beignet sticks were so good, basically sweet version of fries. Creative! The waitress, Amber, was extremely attentive, helpful, and witty. My friends and I absolutely love the overall dining experiences.
Jada Thompson
Cute place with great food. The service was lovely. Very welcoming. I like the small, space. No pretension here. Just good people serving good food. The banana French toast was delicious.
andrew jorden
Definitely worth giving this place a shot. Very small hole in the wall, you may miss it walking down the street but they have a way of drawing you in. Very friendly service, we both had a benedict, the crab cake and the crawfish. They were both delicious, my only complaint was the food was not very hot, but I am a little bit of stickler when it comes to hot food. I will definitely be back for another round. I am sure it will be 5 stars the next time.
Charles Murphy
This place is rather small when you peer inside from the street, but don't let that discourage you...honestly this restaurant served the best breakfast of anywhere I dined during a recent stay in New Orleans. I'm not a big eggs benedict fan, but their crawfish benedict was absolutely amazing and full of flavor! Wish I had been in town longer to try more of their dishes.
Laura Fadenrecht
Great food with an eclectic atmosphere. Small restaurant space with a big attitude. Servers were attentive and food was very tasty!
Abram Diaz
This group tho!!! They are so welcoming and friendly. They really made my dog feel welcome too. Food was on point! Drinks were great! Highly recommended this diamond in the rough. Thanks guys!
John Waters
I recommend this place ! Was looking for a non-touristy place to grab some breakfast. This place is small, but super cute, the food is great and affordable. I had the steak and eggs quesadilla. It came with a sauce drizzled on top and I wasn’t sure how to eat it. The waitresses said just “dig on in, and get messy” and handed me a stack of napkins. The prices are worth it for what you get!
Tatijuana Harris
This little cafe is always hoping and they do a great job at keeping the waiting customers happy while they are tending to the ones already seated. The food and the service is also fantastic! Their Bacon Bloody Mary's are highly recommend after a night on Bourbon Street!
Lisa Sullivan
We came early 7am and we were seated right away. We had the beginet sticks and the seafood omelet and crawfish Benedict. We loved it all!
Tiffany Lehman
This cute little Cafe is an absolute MUST if you find yourself in the French Quarter!!! Servers and hostess were all very friendly and amazing at their role!! We absolutely LOVED Amber's energy and aura!!! Food was amazing and priced perfectly!
We made sure to make a stop back the next day for breakfast again before we left the area! I suggest you do the same! ❤
Brittany Hopkins
It was a little hole in the wall joint. Food was amazing. Shrimp and grits were top notch. Crawfish Benedict was great. And the Captain Crunch French Toast was excellent. I will definitely return if I'm ever back in New Orleans.
Todd Ebersole
What a cool little place with great service and even better food. The waitress recommended the Monte Cristo French toast. This is a solid choice.
Andreas Aristidou
I really enjoyed this little cafe. The staff were super welcoming and friendly and the food was on-point. Not too much, not too fried - just right! Also good selection. I wish they carried some salads too for replacing some of the side orders of fries or onion rings.
LP Stout
Small place, but fast service, with comical staff always make the wait worth it! Food was terrific too!
C C
Cute little breakfast place with decent selection of food items. Especially loved the Banana Foster French Toast, but it was all good! One of our best meals in New Orleans.
David Tsiarletski
Cochon breakfast burrito was juicy and flavorful. Eggs Benedict with craw fish was ok- not my favorite eggs Benedict
Chris Owens
Sunday brunch. Seated in 5 minutes so they weren’t that busy. Bananas foster French toast is incredible. Quick service.
frank mendoza
Great food. Strongly recommend the grilled pork chops and the captain crunch french toast.
David Nuckels
Great cozy spot for an amazing NOLA style breakfast. The French toast and shrimp and grits were amazing.
Apoorva Seth
Great pricing, amazing staff, and the food was solid! A great brunch spot!
Jackie Iyari Barragan
I stumbled across this place on my first day and ordered the seafood and spinach omelette and returned to have the same thing on my last day in Nola. The omelette is so full of flavor and the breakfast potatoes are delicious with a nice skin crisp. I highly recommend grabbing breakfast and brunch here.
Julia Martinez
We waited for About 45 minutes but it was well worth the wait. The place is small but the food was prompt and the drinks were tasty.
Jennifer Bornick
We ate here 4 out of the 5 days we were in NOLA. Every meal we had was awesome and the service was excellent! We never had to wait (we eat on the early side) although it is worth the wait if you are there at a busy time. Yes, it’s small but that gives it its character.
I can’t say enough about the quality and taste of the food and also the friendly service and great atmosphere. Our meals were always cooked to perfection. The portions are generous and we left there stuffed!
Micah
I was able to walk in and get a table right away. The two servers were so friendly and kind. The shrimp and grits was so good!
Shelly Lee
Amazing food, incredible service, and the vibe is so good at this little cafe! We ended up here by chance but will return when in New Orleans. It was one of the BEST meals we had.
KG
Delicious and competitively priced dishes, attentive service - everything you can wish for. We'll definitely come back to this cozy restaurant when we'll be in New Orleans again.
Sassy Savage
My fiancé and I really enjoyed the food & experience. It was worth the wait, and I just suggest a fan and some chairs floor you're line lol.
Amy Oxner
I’ll come back the next time I’m in New Orleans. Sit outside and enjoy the vibe. Delicious!
Marquita Dorsey
Our waitress was amazing and the grits were the best I've ever had!!
Brian Seman
Eggs Benedict with crabcake absolutely delicious. The burrito was excellent. Service was fantastic.
LaToya Hill
Amazing breakfast! The banana foster French toast was awesome.
Amanda Harkcom
This is our second time coming here while on vacation in the Big Easy. It feels like old friends work here! Very welcoming and friendly with a great atmosphere. The next time we come to NOLA, this will be our breakfast stop!!
Carsyn E
Great place! Go early and expect lines after 8:30 am. Less busy than other places like the Ruby Slipper. This was my favorite breakfast spot that we tried! The eggs Benedick were over cooked but still tasted great!
Shavon G
This brunch spot was one for books !! I highly recommend going here food was delicious and service was perfect. it is small but don’t underestimate
Todd Bascom
The breakfast was delicious! Our server, Anna (I believe was her name), was amazing!! She was very attentive, checked up on us regularly and was the reason we kept going back. I cannot recommend it enough.
Raja Zakeeyah
You won't be disappointed. Short wait and great food. The servers were down to earth and cool. I was fascinated by the one server that wore face glitter. Thanks again for the pic. My daughter absolutely loved your look. I'm sure she's gonna use your idea and show it off lol. I won't post the pic because I only asked permission to show my daughter. But if you see my favorite sever say hello and that I sent you. Oh the food...... Just look at the pics. Yea.... That good!!
Didi Diaz
Great spot walking distance from bourbon street. Ordered the daily special of Fruity Pebbles French Toast. Husband has the Pork chop eggs Benedict. The sauce was delicious. Very strong in pepper taste, which we love. The portions were large. The coffee was great and the service was excellent.
dolly Salcedo (Dollface)
Food was good, staff was friendly and prices reasonable.
Coach Rose
I couldn't eat here due to food poisoning at another restaurant, but the service was outstanding and it means a whole lot to be treated well when I'm not feeling good. I got a ginger ale and that helped my stomach! I'll definitely be back once I'm back to my old self.
Andrew Huckins
Great little eclectic café. Friendly staff and a fun menu.
Bill Leach
Ok, this is the place you live to talk about. Breakfast in the French Quarter. There have been debates about whose the best food for decades in the French Quarter. Jimmy J's wins hands down in my opinion. The food is better than excellent. The service was perfect. We had a nice and interesting conversation with the staff there that we won't go into detail about. It's small inside but the food they serve makes it HUGE. When you walk by and see a line waiting to get in to eat, at Jimmy J's it's not because there is no place else to eat. It's because you don't want to eat any place else. Our server, and I don't remember her name, was just the best. She took care of us like family.
Jose Guerrero
Jimmy J's is delicious. The food is great as well as the service. I has a great atmosphere. The place is smaller than usual so call ahead if you have a big party. They are very attentive and nice.
Kellee Freeman
Went to this place based off the reviews and was disappointed. They were out of all the fountain drinks and only had water, oj, and ice tea. They actually went to the store and bought it. I saw them opening the bottles to pour into glasses. The wait time wasn't terrible to get seated, but the wait time for your food to come out is horrible. 32 minutes(I counted). Our server was okay., but unsanitary. While cleaning off a table for the next customers, she placed the menus between her uncovered thighs and then gave those same menus to the guests. Really turned me off. The pancakes were mediocre. I ordered buttermilk pancakes, but they tasted sour. Like lemon extract was added. The sausage was good, though. Definitely won't come here again.
Jackie Baxter
4 of us have been in the French Quarter almost a week, going to top rated breakfast places & this is by far the best place for breakfast. Flavor, sauces, temperature, presentation & price. Everything for all of us was 5 stars.
Barking Byrd
Funky it is. If standing in line for an hour to cram 4 people into a table meant for 2 and be served smallish portions. This is the place. The food is good. The price is fair. The service is friendly.
Danika W.
There was a small wait and always a short line of people waiting to get in but it is worth it! I had the Crawfish Egg Benedict and it was delicious! The mimosa was a little lack luster but the food and the service was fantastic and fast. If you are ever in New Orleans make sure to stop here for a bite!
John N
Worth the wait if there’s a line. Food was ridiculously good!
Tammy Rosales #TammyTravels
Good food, good pricing, great service! Pricing reasonable.
Get there early! No reservations and the line can be extremely long.
Michael Mazur
Excellent cafe! We were at home from the moment we crossed the threshold. They have successfully put their own flair on classics, making it a unique and memorable experience. The staff is very pleasant and competent. Thank you; we will be back.
Nathan Hawkes
What a fantastic breakfast. Just a little place, but they have so much to offer. A great selection of food to choose from. You show up, line up out the door, and wait to be called. The wait is typically around 20 minutes, but well worth it. We tried the fruity pebbles French toast, banana-nut French bread, and beignet sticks. All to die for. I would love to frequent this establishment. Would eat here again.
Liz P (m3rquinn)
Great place for some delicious french toast. It was such a snazzy and cute place that we even went twice. They had other options for food, but the hubby and I loved the Banana Fosters French toast. Plus there other options for French toast too like Captain crunch French toast and more. Overall, recommend this place for breakfast or even brunch if ever get tired of waiting in line at Cafe de Monde or Cafe Beignet.
Natalie Garr
Loved this place! Tried to go earlier on our trip but the line was so long and now I know why! It was delicious. The potatoes were awesome and the steak in my burrito was very tender.
Constantine Johns
Great breakfast spot. Kind of off the beaten path but it is so worth hunting it down. Colorful decor that matches the robust flavor profile of their food!! They have music blasting that the majority of the wait staff is singing too. So fun and lively. Good service and very hospitable. Food tasted just as good as it looked if not better!!
Randy Ford
This little slice of heaven made my trip to NOLA worth it all by itself. The atmosphere was very funky and fun, the waitstaff was amazing (super nice, attentive, and funny), and the food was out of this world fantastic. Seriously, you may want to consider bringing an extra pair of pants with some room for growth. The best food I had on my entire trip which is saying A LOT (beignet sticks and a cochon pannini for breakfast, french toast monte cristo for the work wife). 10/10 do recommend, and the next time I visit NOLA I will definitely be back. Thank you Jimmy J's!
Ruby Hughes
We are here this morning about 8 and oh my goodness.....them darn pancakes were absolutely delicious! I only ate 2 of the three, but super delicious and I rarely eat pancakes! I tried the mimosa, which I usually enjoy, but I guess I wasn't feeling it! It's a very small place with great service! Go see for yourself!
Javier Evans
Jimmy J's is great for breakfast. The menu has a wide selection od delicious items. The pork chop entree was great and the shrimp and grits as well. The place is small and has a few outdoor tables. Rihanna was our server and she was aweome!
Birdie
Wow! I knew I picked a great restaurant when the Uber driver said I was lucky that there was no line to get in. I’d be remiss if I didn’t start with how the service was very friendly & quick. And the food!! My my my… I ordered the pork chop eggs Benedict and I was not disappointed. So flavorful, tender and perfectly seasoned. Anytime I come to NOLA I will definitely come to Jimmy J’s! Best breakfast. Mmmm mmm mmm
Daniel Zuniga
Highly recommend the Porkchop Eggs Benedict for breakfast! There was a wait but nothing too excessive. Small but packed with great tastes and atmosphere.
Monique Supplee
Found this little gem during my recent trip to NOLA! Breakfast and the staff were amazing. My only tip would be to get there early. It is a small place and they fill up quickly. Even if you end up having to wait I can attest it will absolutely be worth it.
Jordan Z
came here yesterday for breakfast (around 9am?) little bit of a wait so not bad at all! people started lining up soon after, though!
i ordered the breakfast burrito with a side of french toast & my bf ordered the banana bread french toast with a side of eggs. i loved the burrito and the french toast i had, but i think for the price i could’ve done without the french toast. it was only like $6, but i would’ve liked at least one more slice of bread to make the price make more sense (to me). our waitress was also great! and funny lol. her name was marilyn, but everyone there was friendly!
Tonika Ridley
Wonderful little hidden gem in the French Quarter! The owner was hospitable and attentive. The food was heavenly and this place has the best sweet tea ever! My daughter and I truly enjoyed our dining experience here. Wish it was open later because we would have eaten dinner here as well. Don't leave New Orleans without giving this cafe a try!
Dizzy Mars
Really delicious food and great service. At the time, the menu I viewed online was not the same as their in person menu but I still was very happy with my meal. I definitely recommend the bananas foster French toast.
Ellie Joy P.
Disappointed with the food and the service! We came in to join 3 of our friends and they wouldn’t initially let us put 2 tables together, though there were a few empty ones. The waiter didn’t really have a reason for it, especially since there were already other 2 groups sitting around tables put together! My omelette was fresh and tasted fine, but it came with a side of cold, hard home fries.
Nicolas Sarkissian
So this place is small, but the ambience is so cool. Staff is amazing, all of them friendly and chatty and they look like they love the place. Food was very good and perfectly spiced imo.
Ashley Payne
The food was good but even ordering pick up did not feel safe. They allow in person diners and the space is so small. I would not patronize again during covid for safety reasons.
JOHANNA A.
Small line outside, about a 10 minute wait on a Monday morning. Small chic place, service is quick but courteous. The food was delicious. Ordered the pork chop breakfast which was sooo juicy and perfectly cooked. The gravy on it was amazing. The crabs cake Benedict was hearty and soo good. Steak and eggs was amazing. Steak in the shallot jus was just decadent. The fried shrimp and oyster po boy was huge couldn't finish it, but delicious. Will def come back.
suma gavi
This is a very cozy place! The garlic aioli french toast is a must try!!!! The crab cake Benedict was also excellent! They can go easy on the butter on all their items though, but then there’s probably nothing like less butter in Louisiana :P
Cassandra Ryder
The shrimp and grits were amazing! All of the staff was super nice as well. Can't wait to come back!
Patrick Mawyer
A very small hole in the way type cafe that serves some amazing food. The french toast monte cristo....perhaps the best dish I had in New Orleans.
ptisawquah
I wasnt as impressed as most; however, i reserve space for having off moments. The server was nice enough. The place is super cute. I love eating local is what brought me here. My daughters benedict was COVERED in sauce while mine only half (because i ordered the crab is what i was told) and the half that had sauce wasnt vey much & charged me extra for more sauce which disappointed me. Potatoes were DELICIOUS! Not accessible, tiny space.
Jihad Ashtawy
Individualized service, great variety, very good prices! (especially for the area).
Quaint little breakfast eatery with a bar that has specialized drinks (bacon bloody mary, Soleil mimosa). Perfect place for a hearty breakfast to get you going. The waitresses were all friendly and cheerful. They were very accommodating to our 5 year old as well, even though they didnt have a specific children's menu.
M Scotto
Great little local joint for breakfast. Super friendly service and only 9 tables so get there early or be prepared to wait. It will be worth it if you do. I had the Cochon eggs Benedict and they were nothing short of absolutely delicious. The slow-roasted pulled pork was the juiciest I've ever had. My girlfriend got the Truffle scrambled eggs and they were absolutely delicious as well. The walls are covered with really cool Jazz art most done on old skateboards. Do yourself a favor and get there for breakfast.
Susan Ruisinger
Super cute. Quick and friendly service. AMAZING shrimp and grits. The Houstonians looking for good skrimps with grits will enjoy this place.
Paulina La
Great food, amazing service highly recommend
Tyler Bushong
This was one of the smallest Cafe's I've ever been to so the wait was long just getting in the door. But once you got in and was seated, you were invited to an eclectic atmosphere! The people were fantastic and the food was out of this world good. All in all this is a must if your in NOLA.
Dave Silva
Great food but a small place. You’ll likely wait at least half an hour before getting in. The waitresses were nice and quirky. Eggs benny was really good.
Michael Wilcox
Fun place! Small and busy, but service was great. Food was amazing!! I can't recommend enough!
Julia s
Pretty cool with good vibes, enjoyed the atmosphere. Ordered seafood and Spanish omelette was more than good.
Stuff is nice, there’s a waiting almost during the morning (haven’t been in the afternoon and not sure if they are open)
Trina Pollock
We didn't really find this place forgettable. The fries were good, but that was about all. It's a cute spot.
Sandeep Josan
Nice little cafe with decent food options. The place is pretty small and cozy with only few tables. We went on a Saturday afternoon so there wasn't any waiting time but we have heard that it gets really busy due to its size and name. We tried their house special mix veg and egg white omelette which was nice and well done but had a little oily after taste. We also tried jjs egg creole which was really good. We would visit again and try other things on the menu.
Janet Tenny
Love, love, loved it. The staff was great food was great! A definite place to eat, but they're only open until 2pm.
therealhemin
We went for brunch here and ended going twice. The food was delicious and the service was Great too. I tried Tomatoes Benedict and Eggs Ranchero. Try Tomatoes Benedict, ya wont regret.
Allison Clark
Great brunch options and a fun, casual atmosphere. It’s a small place with less than a dozen tables, but in the time we were there, the wait didn’t exceed just a few minutes. Try the beignet fries!
Jessica “Jess” Beaman
What a fun side street find. A smaller place ticked away on a not so busy street. The shrimp and egg whites burrito was amazing. Service was top notch. Will definitely be back
Geoff Lorch
Great quirky little joint where you can enjoy breakfast all day which suited us perfectly since we stayed up late & got up late.
Tried fried green tomatoes for the first time and an exotic eggs Benedict!
Eleisa Floyd
Great experience. Servers very nice and food was excellent. Favorite was the tomato Bennny for sure. Not too busy either. Will be our go to when we are in new Orleans from now on
Brian Morenze
A very popular tourist spot. A great small place with great food. But this place gets crowded and very limited seating. Don't be surprised if you have to stand outside for sometime before getting a seat here.
Food is not over the top for me as everyone praises on these reviews, but it's not bad at all.
Arthur Powell
Ordered the banana nut bread French toast and it was wonderful. Great bacon and wife loved her pancakes. Staff was friendly and great service. Jazz decor with Jazz music. Great place for breakfast or lunch.
Rohit Dhar
We had breakfast with family- it is a small joint with limited space ,nice decor . I would say breakfast spread was OK(hot coffee was cold) , nothing earth shattering . I do not thing it is worth waiting in queue for more than 30 mins.
Teresita H.
Omg!!! My waitress Laura was amazing and full of positive energy!! The good was well worth the wait.
Leah Kelley
Friendly service and yummy meal. One of us got the crab cakes and loved them. There is next to no accommodations for dietary restrictions, however, so keep that in mind.
Billy Butler
Small dine in space but the food is sooooo delicious. Stand in line across the street and wait for them to call you in. Worth the wait for brunch.
jason kinart
Great little place to get a bite to eat. Very small (9 table) intimate eatery. When going here you need to have everyone in your party before you get seated. Only open for breakfast and lunch. Great food even if it takes a couple of minutes to get it. Worth the wait and not that bad in the wallet either.
Jayne Amsden
We arrived at 9:15 am on a Tuesday in early March to find we were first in line to wait for one of the 8 tables. Maybe 15 minutes until we were seated.
My husband ordered the Crab Cake Benedict which was fantastic! The eggs were poached so gently and the crab cake was not a bunch of breading- just a light coat to keep it together.
I ordered the seafood crepe, which ended up being just shrimp as they were out of crawfish. It was pleasant but a bit bland for me. The potatoes were almost black but mostly edible.
I wanted to love the food and would definitely go back but my meal was not what I’d hoped for- had the cheese been melted in the crepe instead of cold, and potatoes that weren’t over cooked.
Still, cute place, interesting menu and excellent crab cake Benedict, and the orange juice was fresh squeeze delish!
LuVonda Petitt-Duncan
Small intimate spot, so there may be a wait. The pancakes had an interesting flavor my palate was not accustomed to. The manager exchanged them for biscuits. Customer service is top notch.
Michael Tarkowski
Good restaurant for breakfast or lunch. Service was good.
For both of our egg dishes the eggs were cooked too long.
Kevin Connor
Excellent customer service and the burritos are amazing!
sonia glaster
Food was amazing!! Service was great. But be prepared to wait. But I think it's worth it .
RAYMOND BURDEN
Great customer service, food served very quickly. There was a line outside daily so that gives you an idea of how good the food is.
Mike Pruyne
Great location, fantastic food! We had crawfish eggs Benedict and huevos rancheros with chorizo. The service was quick and the staff were friendly and attentive.
rob biehl
Great shrimp and grits. I have tried it in multiple places and this was up there with one of the better dishes.
Jim Fichera
Great little place! Make sure you get a side of the biscuits and gravy. Best I’ve ever had.
SADAN NORMAN
This Cafe Came Though On The Food And Vibe Very Homelike Feeling, I Had The Shrimp And Grits It Was A Bust Of Flavor With Every Bit👍🏾 …
Marzett Kirk
Food and Service was great! I had the shrimp and grits they were delicious and the toast had the perfect crunch! Amber our server was fun!
Blanca Reynosa
We visited from SA and The food was Amazing! The Pancakes were the best and service was great! This place was better than other places we tried in NOLA for breakfast.
Pbwy Pbwy
We found this cozy and colorful place by chance one morning in hunt of a place to have breakfast. Very friendly staff, we were seated quickly after they cleaned a table for us. Decoration of the place is lovely. clean bathroom (Just close it's door when done)
Food was great both taste and presentation. Good menu for different diet. Great service overall.
We left happy and pleased with our find!
Keisha
Cozy little gem tucked in the heart of downtown New Orleans (French Quarters). I went to breakfast. I got there about 7:45 AM and there was only 2 tables available in the restaurant (this spot fills up fast). I had the crab cake and sunny side up eggs. The crab cake was seasoned really well and tasted good; but, was more breading than crab. My friend had the seafood omelet. He said that it was ok.
When we were leaving, there was a line of at least 30 - 40 people waiting to get inside.
Overall, the food was average; but, the coziness and decor was memorable.
R T
Well worth the wait! Absolutely delicious food, stellar service with personality & flair. Fun decor.
Yusra O
Very glad we ate here. The service was very quick and the wait staff were friendly. We came on a Sunday morning and only had a 20-30 min wait for our party of eight, and it was well worth it. The food was incredible. I had the grilled eggplant sandwich as pictured and it was delicious.
Ryan “Sketch” G
Only thing I'd say that's a negative is the size of the joint. But that really doesn't matter when you live up to someone's expectations (that were set high). A friend told me about this place and I will tell all of my friends about it too. Go here if you want a fun quirky little spot to have a mimosa and some phenomenal creole/Cajun cooking that's fresh and locally grown/caught. Plus, the service is impeccable.
Amy Wadsworth
Great place. Can highly recommend.
Great service and staff.
Food is delicious 😋
Maikel Alendy
Incredible food at reasonable prices. This may not be the most well advertised restaurant but deserves the award for most underrated. Creole flavors with a Latin style, a definite must do in New Orleans.
Ken Hall
Quaint and full of ambiance and character. The food is fantastic.
Richie Ahrens
So far the best bloody Mary's I have had in New Orleans. Nice vibe and the food is good..I had the crab cake eggs benedict. Definitely recommended. It's tiny so you may have a wait, but I went early afternoon during the week and I had no problems
Rob Bohlman
Small place, limited seating. Staff were great, food was great.
Damian
What a breath of fresh air! I absolutely love this funky little place with its amazing food, great service, and incredible atmosphere. The pastalaya is amazing! My new favorite stop in the French Quarter.
Vanessa M.
Had the half po boy lunch with a side of rice and beans and ordered a chicken wing. Everything was delicious and i would order again and again. The seasoning in the chicken had a slight spiciness to it. The shrimp in the po boy had so much flavor and the rice and beans were very flavorful. Delicious.
SKIP Almond
Very good. Will be back here to eat again.
Fast, courteous service. Prices are in line with other places nearby, and food is equal or even better, depending on what you like.
Kinda dark inside, but nice & the translucent windows make it nicely private from the folks walking by.
Carmen Dellinger Willard
The breakfast was awesome! My husband had the Nawlins Ranchero and I had the daily special (seafood omelette) and we shared the beignet sticks and a carafe of mimosas. Perfect breakfast for a New Orleans vacation 😁 …
Jason Fendrick
Best Breakfast in NOLA, hands down! Top notch service, generous portions, and reasonable prices! My family and I are here on vacation, and this little hole in the wall popped up on a Google search for "Breakfast Restaurants near me". It was a short walk from our hotel (Crowne Plaza @ Canal and Bourbon), and we ate outside. I would personally recommend the Monte Cristo French Toast - it was superb! They are open 7AM to 2PM, so go early - it fills up quickly, and you'll have to wait in line!
Adam Ovadia
The food was really good. Order the the banana bread French toast which was amazing
Anthony Vigilante
Great little place. Perfect place for breakfast. The place is very small so might be a wait for brunch.
Monte Cristo french toast was delicious. As was the iced coffee.
Fred Decker
Phenomenal food. You might mistake this place for a dive bar, but the food is on par with a jacket and tie venue. There are only 8 or 9 tables in a very space so avoid rush times or wait in a line outside. Have breakfast before 9 and eat lunch late.
Samantha Loesch
Wonderful food and wonderful service! We will definitely be back!
Michael Scruggs
This place is amazing and while in town we actually ate there two mornings in a row. The service is great, the staff is friendly and the food is amazing. I will warn you this is a very small restaurant and be prepared to wait in line but it's worth the wait.
Ivan Schmidt-Vitale
The 3 pigs and 1 bad chicken sandwich is worth a 30 minute wait. Get it with a fried egg, the whole thing will fall apart on a bed of fries and all the cheese and bechemel will mix together.
The staff will seem pushy and short, but it's a popular place and they're dealing with a ton of customers so don't be harsh on them.
Christina Wiggins
My boyfriend and I live four hours away and we're willing to make the drive just for Jimmy J's. This is an amazing place with some of the best food we've ever had. If you do nothing else in New Orleans, stop at Jimmy J's.
Jessica Bruno
This restaurant is small (seating for 20-25) and its definitely a problem for them. I understand that they are a business and they need to make money, but it seems to be at the inconvenience of the customers who are willing to spend their money. The hostess sat our party at two different tables (which we were okay with) but proceeded to tell us she would ask us to leave if the guys parking the car (no parking for at least two or three blocks) did not come quickly. I asked if this was the case even if we ordered food and drinks..she said "YES", and threatened to get the owner who would say the same thing. Mind you this whole speech was given while we were being seated. Since the other members of the party did not come, before another incomplete party came... I kid you not, we we're asked to get up and let them sit down (we had already ordered drinks and appetizers). I'm not from New Orleans, I just assumed the food must be good as hell for this place to be highly recommended, and the hostess threatens to kick you out, and makes paying customers give up their seat. Three stars due to the nice and warm wait staff, and beautiful art work. Food was simply okay, presentation was great, but taste was just okay. Nothing I would pay for to be talked to or treated like that again.
Tripp Corbin
Love this little hole in the wall. Food is great and reasonably priced. The Bacon bloody mary is amazing. One of my favorites here in New Orleans
Tiffany Lively
My go to French Quarter breakfast all day spot. Outstanding fare, really reasonable prices, quaint with awesome atmosphere. Hollandaise sauce is superb.
C. Lorenzo
Decent food. However, the wait for a table is ridiculous! Very small space (around 10 tables total). Overall, not bad if you don't mind waiting at least 40 minutes (depending on time of day & how long people take to finish their meals) for a table.
Daena Charles
Food was standard but definitely not worth the 45 min wait. The restaurant is VERY SMALL, maybe 7 tables total. So keep that in mind.
Mara Osuna Suarez (Kastor)
Not so bad waiting period. Awesome service by Trevor, great drink and delicious food. Price is also not bad. Only giving it 4 stars because it's tiny and tables are too close together.
Rich Blank
Great little place! Food and drinks were awesome. We got lucky with not having to wait. But it's worth the wait.
Robert Lassiter
First time in N.O. and it's hard to try everything that ppl say is good. My wife and I was walking by and found JJs. The prices were looking good so we decided to dine in. There was only one waiter but I get it since its a small place but that guy was over worked. Anyway, by time he came we were ready to order. The food came out in reasonable time. My wife loved the fried green tomatoes. She enjoyed her food (red beans and rice with catfish). My complaint is that the food was greasy and more greasy. The catfish was nuggets not whole pieces. It should've been fried harder (imo). The fries were on the bottom and just soaked up the grease from the fish and shrimp. 🤦🏾♂️ It just wasn't tasty to me.
Roxann Griffith
After the heat and humidity of NOLA and all the heavy fried food, we wanted something light, delicious and authentic. Jimmy J's was just what the doctor ordered. They have an extensive menu from breakfast to dinner with a Cajun cuisine. We had dinner here but the menu is served all day.
The rum and raisin pancakes were divine! Melt in your mouth, great portion and a rich rum and raisin flavor. The Philly cheesesteak was also delicious, huge portion, flaky, fresh bread and the orange juice was fresh squeezed.
The ambience and decor was very NOLA....
This was the best "hole in the wall" ever and one of our new favorite places to eat in the Big Easy.
Debisree Ray
This is just amazing. The place looks small and that’s deceiving. You will never realise what you are missing out, unless you eat. We were in NOLA in a super busy weekend, just two days before the Mardi Gras. So you know, how busy and crowded the entire city was. We initially planned for a different place for our Sunday brunch. Remember, most of the casual brunch spots do not take table reservation. So when we actually hit the spot, it was too crowded. So we decided to move on. Again searched for some place nearby. The second place also disappointed us with the long queue. Then we randomly saw this one nearby, and the queue was little small. So we decided to stick to this place. We waited for about 30-40 minutes standing outside ( and the queue increased!). One lady started taking the drink ( alcoholic) from outside. There is menu posted outside, in case if you want to get ready. Next we got a table. The inside is very small with small tables ( four chairs). Very cozy, homely and artsy. Even though it was crowded there was no hurry. Nobody pushed us for any hurry or anything. We took our time, ordered and laid back and simply enjoyed the time. The food appeared. All of our foods were excellent. The portion sizes were very good, the prices we paid were really worth. All the ingredients were fresh and cooked to the perfection. The steaks and the gravy was the best so far I ate. The cucumber mojito was the best drink ever. The freshly squeezed orange juice was really fresh. The entire experience was good. I would highly recommend you this place if you are around.
Nicole Cuevas
Very yummy food and friendly staff. It’s a small establishment that some would describe as your local “hole in the wall,” and yes, it is. Hence why it’s one of the best places to stop by! Expect a wait of about 20 mins, because it’s not very big so obviously theres not much table space. However, Well worth the wait. Got a mimosa carafe, steak burrito and their crawfish benedict
Evelyn Valdez
Jimmy J’s is like no other! I could not believe how tasty everything was, the service was above and beyond. We had the beignet sticks with a cream cheese sauce and a chocolate sauce, and I want to now figure out how to get this yummy food delivered to Virginia! Everything was so delicious, the breakfast bowl, was basically designed the way I wanted it, they make sure that they take care of you. I love the atmosphere, it is a small place, but somehow everyone fits comfortably and it has a big appetite because everything is so tasty.
Andy Weaver
Great place for breakfast. In fact I went back the next day.
There might be a line but service is pompt so don't let that turn you away.
sarah jones
Amazing food. My husband had the Crawfish Benedict and added crab, I had the tomatoes Benny which was smothered in a garlic butter sauce. The wait is never very long and it's totally worth it to stand outside.
Peter John Welcome
This was an awesome breakfast spot, with really good service, friendly staff and just a New Orleans jazzy vibe to it. The food was epic too.
Sarah Bolen
Enjoyed breakfast here the week I visited. Staff was super friendly. Coffee has free refills and even gave me an extra cup to go. The cochon panini was excellent.
Cody Lee
This is on the list of "for sures" everytime we're in NOLA! You're going to have to be patient cause the line's always long to get in but damn it's worth it! Food's awesome. Atmosphere is perfect for kickin' off a day in the city. Try the French toast monte cristo or Blackened breakfast pork chop w/mushroom gravy. You can thank me later. 🍻
Tony Bliss
Great place, nice find. Seems to be popular earlier in the day for breakfast. I got here a little after 1p on a Tuesday and it was barely half full. It's a small place, about 8 or 9 tables, don't really see it fitting more than a couple dozen people without getting stuffy.
Waitresses were nice. Although one of them was coming on a little strong with the accent; I was called "honey", "bumpkin", "sugar", "sweetie pie" at least two times each. Wouldn't be a thing to note if she were 60+ years old being a nice old(er) lady, but she was barely pushing 30. Either way, looks like they have fun working there.
There's plenty of unique food options to make this place memorable, but also lots of normal stuff for the picky eaters.
Will I be back? Not if I'm by myself. But if I'm with someone and looking for a solid, unique place than that's a yes.
Shawnta Pauling
Omg this was by far the best brunch spot. Don't let the size fool yiu Good things come in small packages. The food was Amazing. And our server was Awesome... shout out to Ree we loved her.
Amy Prieto
Awesome food, the pulled pork Benedict and the crab cake Benedict were Amazing. Our server Frankie was awesome.
Shonnie Gardner
Food was DELICIOUS! Bloody Mary was good. Our server Amber was awesome. Highly recommend this place!
Melissa Winner
Small place with limited seating, inside and outside, but great atmosphere, friendly staff, good food. Perfect for stopping in while walking downtown or in the French Quarter.
Alex Nic
Line was about fifteen to twenty minutes which seemed reasonable for the time of day on a Sunday morning. Bloody Mary was fine, but the food was the real winner. Probably some of the best pancakes I've ever had. Caramel pecan but they could have been plain and I still would have eaten them quickly. It's easy to make a bad pancake and hard to make a good one, but these are excellent. There was also a variety of house made sausages on offer, of which I had the pepper. Kind of want that recipe, or just to eat it over and over again. My friend had the cochon benedict which he said was, while slightly salty, original and flavorful enough to rank in his top 5 (and he's a breakfast aficionado). would definitely return and recommend to anyone.
Anjali Edwards
Best place for eggs benedict lovers.
Jessica Bannatyne
Great location, delicious food, awesome staff. My sister is still raving about the Poached Egg, a month later.
Bob Kaplan
Nice clean side street diner.
Had a western omelet that was excellent.
Alan Harris
Went to Jimmy J Café for lunch and there were a lot of delicious items. Very small place though but they were accommodating for us 3. Best time to go is kind of challenging to know seeing that there is always a line outside the restaurant but the wait time wait between 5-10 mins. I will definitely recommend this place to anyone visiting.
Jason Thomas
This little cafe has some great food. My wife ordered the bananas foster and I had pork chop and eggs benedict.
Melissa Patterson
Fantastic! Soooo worth the wait! Love the servers! Desiree, Dawn and Rebecca were great! The food was AMAZING! We had the New Orleans Ranchero and the breakfast pork chops.
c.
Slow because it was busy, but great customer service. Owner is super-attentive to his restaurant's inner workings and customer happiness! Longgggggg wait outside, not sure it was justified but there was the same wait time nearly everywhere.
Roland Pinault
Jimmy Js is a small but mighty cafe with awesome breakfast on one of my favorite streets in New Orleans. Everything I have tasted , from cochon du lait po boy to any of the french toast options and egg dishes. Bananas foster, banana bread french toast are decadent and delicious. The wait staff is attentive, always topping off your coffee. They are sassy and fun. Love me some Jimmy's
Mike Double You
I ordered the fried green tomatoes appetizer, a large orange juice, and the crawfish cake benedict. It looked great, staff were pleasant, but the flavor was overwhelmed with the taste of.....well.....fried. The tomatoes were sliced thin so the fried breading was overwhelming. The orange juice had 7up in it which wasn't listed on the menu. These are the reasons I gave it 4 stars instead of 5. Presentation was great though!
Jose Aros
Fantastic food. Pork chop eggs benedict was one of the tastiest things I've had in a while. Service was great. Desiree was a hoot.
Chris Waldron
Get here early to avoid a long wait for brunch. If there is a line, order a Bloody Mary at the bar to take with you during your wait in line. Biscuits and gravy were great. Eggs lafitte were a bit overpriced for what you got but were still tasty.
Service was kind and helpful, the food came out fairly quickly.
Cameron Nepini
Small, tasty brunch place with great service and amazing food! The steak burrito was amazing.
Mckune Sheneika
We had to wait for 30-40 minutes to be seated, because it's a really small restaurant, but it was so worth the wait I had the shrimp and grits and my wife had the fried shrimp and fries... amazing
Jessica Dobson
After a week of delicious food in NOLA, this absolutely blew my mind! I was expecting tasty, homestyle food but this was the best meal I've had in New Orleans yet (and at a fraction of the cost of some places).
JJ's Crawfish And Blackened Chicken: Flavorful jambalaya foundation topped with tender blacked chicken and a rich cream sauce with crawfish, mushrooms, peppers and cheese. Served with the most buttery toast, but really it's just there to sop up the sauce.
The place is TINY, which explains the massive line when I skipped this place over the weekend. Be prepared to wait or go at an off time for a much more chill experience.
Cherry Zablocki
Ordered Crab Cake Benedict.
Eggs were overcooked, however, they remade it, and it was amazing
Cool vibe, too
Erika Campos_Montanez
This place was excellent. Very small, but the breakfast was great. I got the eggs Benedict over craw fish cake with the potatoes of the house. Yummy 😋 😋 😋. The coffee to die for. The service on point. The best part is that they open super early, so we got this perfect breakfast in the day we were leaving. What a great seal to our great trip to New Orleans 👍 😀
James Taylor
I got the biscuits and gravy with a side of french toast, both had a great flavor and a nice texture
Mike McKinney
Fast friendly service (thanks Laura!) with a lengthy breakfast menu. Doesn't have the name recognition of other breakfast options, but food was solid. Bananas foster French toast was great as were the sausage patties. Sandwich was also delicious. Definitely worth a visit - you won't be disappointed.
Kevin and Joy Buckland
Excellent crab Benedict with grits.
Aunty A
Ha-mazing! Loved everything about this place! Can't wait to come back for the BEST Cucumber Bloody Mary, Eggs Benedict on crab cakes, banana's foster french toast and fresh oj😍😍😍 Wait staff was friendly and fast! Atmosphere is small but warm and very enjoyable! …
Courtney Dabon
The shrimp and grits and grilled pork chops was nothing short of amazing! The toast with the shrimp and grits was perfect! The place is small so people were cramped in but I enjoyed my food. The waitresses were super cool too. The art on the wall was dope. I loved it!
Scott Jackson
Very good brunch location with reasonable pricing. Waiting line starts across the street at the sign.
Ben Giesecke
Ok. So, the food was good. The staff was on par. However, the menus are incorrect. They only do breakfast now. So if you go there looking for anything else you will be disappointed.
Sarah Smith
The best biscuits and gravy in New Orleans! Inexpensive but generous plates and a variety of breakfast foods. Jimmy J's loves up to the hype my guides gave it while staying true to its roots.
Holly Wood
The last time I was here was 8 years ago and they sold Poboys. This time was plate meals. We were there around 11am so it's possible we were too early. Either way, the food was great. Took 30 minutes to get some French toast, but they were pretty dang busy so it's okay. I'll certainly be back. Staff was kind. Building was clean inside and out. Unlike everywhere else we went, they had a way to pay our bill with a QR code which was awesome.
Lynn Hicks
Went for brunch. Delicious food. Awesome service
Julia Savich
Very delicious food!!! Worth it to wait in the line to get in.☺ Early birds may expect no line😉 …
Pauravi Gandhi
This brunch place will make your day! Amazing food! Coffee is good! Perfect portion size! Enthusiastic staff! And great ambience!
Margaret M.
It's a small place with great food and great employees!! Honestly the positivity and energy from everyone there made me want to keep coming back! The food is priced well and drinks are good.
Natalie Weisz
So good! We came at the perfect time for breakfast. Walked right in and got a table. Food was fantastic and the staff was very friendly.
Bobbie Jensen
Awesome friendly, clean place! Atmosphere is perfect! We had breakfast! We enjoyed the pork chop Benedict, breakfast skillet, breakfast pork chops and veggie omlet with avocado cream!!! ALL were VERY tasty!
Owen R
Make sure you get here early to avoid a queue!
Dave Rutabah
Great breakfast, fast service, and great staff
Christopher Gillespie
Worth the wait, it's located across the street from the restaurant (btw). Burrito and ranchero we're all tasty.
K T.
We went for breakfast there was about a 10 minute wait. We had a waitress with cat ears, glitter and dark hair. We ordered waters one glass had a lipstick ring which happens so we asked for a replacement. When she brought it back the replacement had food in the glass. We asked for another she rolled her eyes and brought a glass with an attitude. She never returned to the table even when we asked for napkins etc. We had to ask other servers. The guy from the kitchen who brought out the food was really nice and even checked on us a couple times as was the blonde waitress with the tutu. The shrimp and grits was okay.
Stacia Sanders
The food was out of this world. Trust me you would love the service and the food.
Anna Sidz
We went around 2pm for a late breakfast and there was no line- they close at 3. Everything is made from scratch, so it takes a little while to get the food. Cute venue.
Deborah Fleming
Thank you for making us feel so welcome Trevor! My biscuits and gravy were excellent and we really appreciated your kind hospitality!! Hoping to come back some day soon ☮️
Nikki Lavelle
Omgosh this food is out of this world and the staff was so friendly!! Of all the places we ate this weekend this was my favorite!
Jose Sanchez
The place is small but great food and service. Wait time hasn't bad. A must have experience.
Diamond Jones
The food and atmosphere were absolutely amazing! I went two days in a row!
Jenna Turner
This is a must visit breakfast place in New Orleans! The food is fantastic and the service is fast and friendly! The breakfast burrito with Chorizo is flavorful and filling and an order of Monkey Bread for the table is a perfect starter!
James Nobles
A little cramped but the good was great and the decor funky. Crawfish on the plate was sweet and the spices in the stew were savory.
Noah Eschenbauch
Gem of a place! Absolutely loved our breakfast here. Great service, amazing food and loved the atmosphere. Had a small wait to get a table but it was definitely worth it!
Kaitland Taflinger
The wait was insane, but the food was good. It was better the first time we went (on a Sunday), but still good when we went again (on a Thursday). Definitely try the French Toast Monte Cristo!!
Karick Heaton
Great food, had the cochon burrito.
Bazyli Polednia
Delicious food and great atmosphere
Scott Martin
All our dishes were outstanding. Excellent crawfish cake eggs benedict. Terrific steak burrito and shrimp and grits are excellent too. Plus pork chops are recommended too. We are going to try to eat there again before we leave.
David Craig
I don't do a lot of reviews but this place was excellent. I mean I'm talking about a BLT. My wife got a Po Boy Turkey. I believe David was the server. Great job a real gentleman. Makes great hurricanes.
Kevin Tipton
Delicious Food. Spot on Benidicts. Breakfast Sandwich was Amazing. Friendly Staff. Delicious Fresh Squeezed Orange Juice
Chevonda Jeffries
Tiny cafe in the French quarter, minimal seating an long wait. Well worth the wait, food is good and fresh. Service was great!
Kakia Prasad
Delicious food, fast service. Better than Ruby Slippers!
sewdat babulal
Food was amazing, a must do in New Orleans
Alexis Youngblood
So delicious! Highly recommend the Cochan Eggs Benedict. May have been one of the best meals I had in NOLA, and the food has been amazing. Service was great as well.
Robert Douglass
Great food, small, cozy. Staff makes you feel right at home
Zohar Kantor
Lovely small little place. Great breakfast, excellent service mostly recommended. The salmon bagel was super.
Xena Warrior Princess
If you like to try the unusual & like really good food, come here. I got the pork chop benedict for breakfast & was very happy. Cozy atmosphere, good wait staff, delicious delights.
Carrie Ciccolella
Best chorizo and croissant I've ever had! Service was on point! Definitely recommend and if there is a wait - it's worth it!
Michelle Hines
Pork chops and were terrific but don't get the catfish and shrimp the portions or not worth the $13...I got 5 fish nuggets.
Yannick Pevenage
Very cool spot for breakkie and lunch! A lot of character and great coffee. Breakfast burrito is recommended !
Traci Canizaro, M.Ed.
Eggs poached perfectly, fair price given location, wide variety on menu. It’s on an English muffin. (Many serve a Benedict on a biscuit-which should be against the law.)
RM
Nicky and the staff were very friendly. We had about a 30 minute wait but could have the Bacon Infused Bloody Mary’s and Mimosas in line to make the time pass.
The homemade biscuits and gravy were a great shareable. We enjoyed the Monte Cristo and Eggs Benedict. A definite do- over. And stop by their Halloween store next door!! Nice family owned local business.
Laura Morris
What a way to start the day!! So good! I ordered the pulled pork Benedict and was very happy.
India Lockett
Outstanding food!!! I wanted to tip the chef!!!!! Best breakfast hands down
S ss (Wanderer)
If the long line ups doesn't say enough about this restaurant here is more :
Waited for almost an hour to get in, had truffle soaked croissant with egg Benedict....I have nothing like that before. Very subtle taste of truffle oil. Just amazing. The sangria was ok...
Megan Anderson
Line moves fast. Only waited about 20 minutes on a busy Sunday morning. The food is delicious and service was great. Totally worth the wait!!!!
Kevin Branson
Small little shop with big taste. Cochon bene and banana fosters french toast.
Chris Cordes
Very solid and funky breakfast cafe in the French Quarter in NOLA. The food was solid, no bad dishes. The place was comfy and definitely seating is limited inside and out - but it is worth the wait. Good food, good service.
Kevin Chiappone
Great place for lunch, probably breakfast as well but we didn't have that. Great server by the name of Anna helped us. She gave us suggestions for not only food but things to do and not to do in town. Great experience!
Ashley Dupree
Really charming spot that's small and cozy. The cool atmosphere is accentuated by fun music and great staff. Of course, the food was awesome!
Paul Dunlop
Great breakfasts, really friendly staff, good location in thecFrench District
Chris
Great food in a cozy place. Friendly service. Good location. Breakfast or lunch all day.
Christo “Sweetness” J.
I thought it was great food but very unorganized... Super limited seating.... So if you can stomach those... Well worth it!
David “Spiritus” Hurt
Great. The only suggestion is to add a couple more crawfish to the Crawfish Benedict. Blood Mary's are top notch.
Troy Doerner
Ate here twice for breakfast on my most recent trip and loved it both times. The staff were super-nice, the food was great and came out quick! Some of the best bang for your buck breakfast in the area.
Javette T
Fabulous. So we barely found it. Just out walking (which i recommend for any French Quarter stay) and around the corner, Voila...small, quaint but comfy. We ate outside. I had the Seafood Omelette and sampled the Bananas Fosters French toast. Food was amazing. For such a small place i expected mediocre at best but everything was Amazing and prices were budget friendly. If you go, you must try the Loaded Peach Tea!!!
Krod Mandoon
There French toast monte Cristo was likely the best breakfast I've ever had! Friendly service and a fun, casual atmosphere made the experience even better!
D R
The breakfast bowl was great. It was very cramped but worth it.
Meri Slaughter
We love this fun little breakfast spot! They take my food allergies very seriously, which is great. They were able to modify the Cochon Burrito for my dairy allergy.
Jeremy Mejia
Coffee was great but the crab cake Benedict was EXCELLENT!
Bruce Wood
Great breakfast spot near Canal in the FQ. Popular brunch location and now I know why.
Lyndia Talley
Most you have to wait to be seated is about 15 mins. outside we formed a line. It was worth the wait. The food was pretty good and the waitresses were friendly.
Ruthie P
Food was great! The Cochon (anything) was super yummy. We had a Cucumber Bloody Mary and loved it. This is a tiny place and was an excellent find. Service was excellent. Frankie was lovely.
Prasanth Louis
Super kind staff and amazing food! Wait time was super quick! I'd definitely come back here again.
I got the crawfish benedict + pineapple mimosa
Aaron LeBauer
This was an awesome dish in a cool little cafe. The only thing wrong was the potatoes were not as hot as the eggs and fried green tomatoes. But close to perfect!!
Sarah Lutz
Very small place, so be prepared that it's a little loud, but it was AMAZING. The mimosas were strong, but still delicious(and I usually don't like mimosas), the food was awesome and the portions were great. Very reasonable prices, awesome friendly staff. Even the service was fast and we were right after a huge group! I can't say enough positive things about Jimmy J's!! There was a line with a bit of a wait(like everywhere else) but don't let that deter you!!
Cristie Rives
The shrimp and egg white burrito was the best thing I had this whole trip! The bananas foster French toast was amazing as well. This place is definitely worth the wait!
Jason Coleman
A long wait, but well worth it. Great spot in the edge of the quarter. Cool vibes, great music and delicious food.
David Streit
My eggs rancheros were absolutely scrumptious and the coffee was great as well. Love the vibe!
Victor Flores
Great food, nice place, good service! It's a must! We waited like 10 min but worth the wait.
Stanley Ipkis
We got in Quick on a Saturday. Good food, good service. It's was great.
Sharon Geuea Jones
Nice place for a recovery breakfast. Low key but friendly vibe.
Sebastian Patino
Shrimp n grits w bacon are a must try!! Friendly staff and "hole in the wall" experience.
LaKeia Harris
Great food and awesome service!!
Ronnie Washington
The food was awesome...waitress was on point...the place was little small but they was moving the crowd..
Eric Olsen
Awesome breakfast! Don't miss the bacon bloody Mary and Eggs Lafitte
Daniel Adams
I absolutely loved this place! Listen to your server mine did right by me on her recommendation. I am so glad I stopped her on my visit to the big easy.
Jahneli Bradburn
Food was amazing! I ordered the ham and cheese croissant and it had to be the best croissant I have ever had!!!
Jennifer Harker
LOVE this place! Food is out of this world and the service is pretty great too!
William Brewer
Great little restaurant off the French Quarter. The food is delicious and the service is very good. I had the Crawfish Benedict and it was awesome!
Andre Lukin
Nice cafe to get breakfast or early lunch. Pretty small but efficient. Big portions. Very (I mean VERY) nice and friendly waiters. The overall atmosphere is fun, relaxing, and friendly for queer people. I will be eating here when I visit NOLA next time.
Elise Jordan
Good food and a cool atmosphere. Reasonable prices too. Loved it after a long night of drinking!
Aida Mortazavi
the best and delicious breakfast have ever had ❤️🥰 …
Lisa Desrochers
Went on a Monday morning at 10 and there was no wait. Staff was super friendly and the menu is extensive. Definitely something for everyone. The food was incredible. Planning to go back tomorrow!
Heather
Food was fantastic, service was excellent. Highly recommend for breakfast!
Candice Avery
Giving this 5 stars for the food. The Seafood Omelette was cooked to perfection and the Pork Chop Benedict had great flavor. The Mimosas are definitely worth it! Wish this location was bigger, not much room inside at all but other than that excellent spot for breakfast.
B.J Mabolo
Hidden gem of New Orleans. I had the french toast Monte cristo sandwich which was everything I could have hoped for. You will not be disappointed. Paired with a bacon bloody mary which you can't go wrong with bacon
Matt Thornton
One of my favorite parts of Nola. I went three times in five days, and that’s mostly because they are closed on Wednesdays. Food was great, decor and music was always great, and I loved the staff. Always felt taken care of and never felt pushed, no matter how busy it was. If you want a local place with a lot of character and A+ breakfast food, highly recommend.
Glen P
What a great experience. From the warm greeting at the door to the great service. Keoka was our server and she went above and beyond to take care of our every need. The food is amazing across the board and the adult beverages are the cherry on top.
Todd D
Great breakfast best sausage gravy and biscuits ever...worth the wait if a few people in line waiting for a table.
Jonathan Kong
Really welcoming staff and amazing food! Loved their blackened pork chops :)!
Sandy Heard
I had one of the best eggs Benedict’s! My husband had the American breakfast and loved - especially their home fries (breakfast potatoes). Great place! Great service and clean. Highly recommend.
Melie Vincent
My husband had an incredible po boy. I'm celiac and had a safe, tasty omelet. Highly recommend as worth the wait.
Titan Capri
Great little spot tucked away with great customer service and great food! A must visit when you in Nola!!
Carrie Wyman
Food was really good and reasonably prices. Super busy small place so it took about 40 minutes of standing outside before we got in, but it was worth it in my opinion
bob swartz
Hands down our favorite breakfest spot in Nee Orleans! the staff is amazing, friendly and funny. the food...in a city of great food...stands out on top. every dish we have tried here we loved. the shrimp and crawfish omelet was one of my surprise favorites and the benedict options were all perfeclty executed. fast service with a great staff that never made us feel rushed...even with a line out the door! If you are looking for the best breakfast and a mimosa in the morning dont bother looking anywhere else. come here now! thank you Jimmy J's!
Heather C
Amazing as always. Limited menu due to Hurricane Ida, but amazing food and service as always. We are local and come down here all the time just for Jimmy J's! Don't be turned off if there is a line, it's a tiny place, but we've never waited long. Get her early!
Julie Schoelzel
OMG go here. Such a wonderful place. I deeply regretted not eating here twice. Great coffee and excellent crab Benedict.
Taylor Barker
Service was great. Banana fosters French toast was so good.
Edgar “Eddie” Castlow
We arrived just as they went on a wait. It was a little chilly outside but we did not wait long. We had a party of 7 of which was kids. The menu had options for everyone and the service was great.
Eric quintanilla
Really good breakfast. I had the pankcakes and my girlfriend got the Marlins ranchero. The pancakes were really good and my girlfriend said her plate was the best breakfast she has ever had.
Nikki Warren
On our way to another breakfast joint and came upon Jimmy J's. The line for the door was a bit long, we were the 5th or 6th party waiting but it moved so quickly that we waited less than 20 minutes for a table. Food was wonderful, service superb! I expected the staff to be haggered and sweating since they were moving so quickly. But they all glided through with smiles on their faces and showed nothing but pleasure to be if service. Loved this place and staff!
Andrea Gary
Fabulous fresh food and loved the staff! Can't wait to get back again!
Jen M
The food is phenomenal! The atmosphere is great, the staff were all awesome and super attentive! Absolutely worth the short 10 minute wait to get in! This will be a place I stop at every time I get the chance to come back to New Orleans.
Kelsey McAdams
We came for breakfast and it was SO good! Definitely will come back next time! A little pricey for the amount of food you get on some items but it tasted amazing! I got bananas foster and my fiancé got the breakfast bowl with grits, egg, sausage, and bacon and he loved his!
Sherita Donald
We waited in line for about 40 minutes but it was well worth the wait. EVERYTHING we got was great including the seafood omelet and the potatoes but the highlights hands down were: the pancakes (HEAVENLY/best I've ever had) *and that was from tasting a couple of bites from my niece's plate* and the regular Bloody Mary. It was so smooth! I can only imagine what the ultimate or Cucumber Bloody Mary would've tasted like. Our only regret was not trying this place again before we left. I'll be here every time I'm in NOLA.
Josh M
Had breakfast for lunch and Jimmy J's Cafe served that on a exceptional level. Would love to come back before my trip ends for sure.
Shell “ShellyL” Jacks
Food was really good could use a bigger space to seat patrons.
Kevin Howell
Great breakfast/brunch spot. It's a small space with not a lot of seating, so there may be a wait. We waited about 15 minutes. Went there for Sunday brunch. I had pineapple rum raisin french toast, which was amazing. My wife had Creole eggs benedict and loved it. Just the right portions. Nice atmosphere, cool art decor and great service.
Desirea grant
Really enjoyed our time there. I had the biscuit and gravy was delicious. However, my husband didn't care for his crab cakes (He said it was 2 much filler) and his eggs wasn't poached. I would go again!
Stephanie Howe
Great breakfast burritos, very fun place to grab breakfast. It's small but worth the wait.
N Page
Small extremely busy restaurant, seats about 25 people. There was a small 30min or so wait to be seated, which was totally fine. I read reviews that the staff was very fun and friendly, mine was not. Although I did not feel pressured to quickly finish my meal so that those outside standing in line could be seated, I did feel pressure to “ hurry up and order”. While serving or taking our order, the waitress was not focused on us at all, constantly looking around and never made any eye contact. However, the food definitely made up for the lack in service. When traveling I get the Shrimp and Grits 90% of the time and this was one of the best. Also, two thumbs up for the fried green tomatoes. I will definitely return and pray I get a different wait staff member.
Tammy Brewster
Crab cake benedict was amazing and great friendly service and atmosphere!!!
Melany Decker
The food is very good, totally worth the poor service. The location is very small, so we had to wait for a table, which is ok. However, the hostess is very offhand, almost rude. The waitress seemed sad and disinterested. It seems they take the patronage for granted, since they're so popular. Crab cakes Benedict is totally awesome and the presentation is excellent for a hole in the wall. Decor one one wall is pretty too. I would definitely recommend this rustic place. I hope you have a better experience with service.
Jasmine Tompkins
This place HAS outdoor seating!!!
Food was really good and the waitress was very attentive and didn't forget about us while we were outside.
I tried the cap'n'crunch french toast and it wasn't overly sweet, very good. My daughter said the pancakes was the best she's ever had. Husband said the benedict was delicious but the eggs were cooked a tad to hard.
Brent Buchan
Wow. Really great food and service. Less than a dozen tables - worth the wait if there is one.
Food was fresh and original - breakfast with a New Orleans spin on menu items.
The staff was hustling and happy - what a cool environment.
Highly recommend.
Note - you might walk right by it - you have to look for the stained glass storefront and find the door - don’t miss this one!
Lindsay Williams
The potatoes were definitely not cooked all the way and the biscuits were so hard I could barely eat it. I really had to salt and pepper the gravy on the biscuits and gravy.
Rob Olenik
Great staff and really good food. Got there early, before the rush. My wife and I enjoyed our breakfast.
Shannon Cusick
Incredible all around! The girls working here are so hospitable and sweet. They make you feel like you're at home. Plus, they're super pretty ;)
The food here is absolutely the best breakfast I've had in NOLA. The eggs Benedict was shockingly delicious, but the beignet sticks and blackened pork takes the blue ribbon! It was tender, juicy, and perfectly seasoned. I would rather eat this thing than a steak any day, and I am a steak FIEND. Biscuits and gravy are also out of this world. Biscuits are nice and crispy and the gravy was thick, creamy, and had a bit of a kick to it! The atmosphere was also fantastic. No two tables were too close to each other, and when it's super busy they have really fun jazz playing so that you're not listening to all the chatter. We went back the very next day for more because it was that good! I recommend Jimmy J's for breakfast above any other place I've been in NOLA.
kristi lewis
Good food. Priced reasonable. Staff was helpful and friendly. Busy but still got attention. Food was great!
Jon Guse
Stopped in here for breakfast before our morning meeting. Service was freaking and personal. Food was unique and very tasty. Great stop!
Emanuel Stiles
Absolutely delicious! Bacon/cucumber Bloody Mary's were really good too! We showed up about 10:00am on a Thursday morning, the day after New Years. The wait was short but we were only like the 3rd or 4th group in line. The place only has about 12 tables so it's not very big but it's not super crowded. The service was great! Definitely worth checking out!
Gabriel Delurand
Amazing cafe!!!! Let me start off by saying they have an amazing staff. The food was beyond what I expected, the Cap n' Crunch french toast was the best thing I ever had. I recommend everyone to try this experience, it's life changing.
S Linn
Really good food. If you go on the weekend, expect a wait. I thoroughly enjoyed the breakfast bowl.
Julie Biorkman
Really great place for breakfast! I had the blueberry brandy French toast, which was delicious and very filling. My husband had the breakfast sandwich and he enjoyed it as well. The restaurant is very small, so I can imagine that the wait can get very long on the weekends, but we were seated right away. Service was friendly and fast. I'd definitely come back.
Chuck Force
Awesome Breakfast and Lunch place, very welcoming.
Nicholas Parks
Really cool, small place. Great breakfast. I had the French Toast Monte Cristo. Awesome!
K S
Thank goodness we stumbled on this place. We were going to another place for breakfast, but the wait was 45 minutes so we starting looking around and saw a line outside this place. Starting talking to people in line, and most had eaten there before. They all said the food was amazing and worth the wait. Good sign we thought. LOVED IT! I had the seafood omelette which was packed full of seafood cooked to perfection. The omelette was fluffy and a huge portion. The breakfast potatoes were cooked just right and not greasy. EXCELLENT and we tried to go back the Friday after Thanksgiving, but it was closed. Very sad. Wait in line because it really is worth it. The bloody mary's are great.
RainJewell KickstandCompanions
It's a small place, so we had to wait a bit. But the Crab cake Benedict was wonderful! Best crab cakes we've had in New Orleans, not over fried and dry. Big portions and polite and helpful waitstaff. We are glad we gave Jimmy Js a try.
carlos munoz
Food was great, green tomatoes were awesome. Wife loved her breakfast croissant. The seafood spinach crepes were even better than the tomatoes. The one pancake my wife got, was not so much, only reason not a perfect score. The service was great too.
BOBBY BOOTAYNE
Food was amazing! Waitstaff were on the ball!
MzKimeya
French toast Monte Cristo was delicious and the servers were great!
Jacob Franck
Very busy Sunday brunch crowd but worth it. Less busy durning the week if you're looking for a nice breakfast.
suki1211
By far one of my favorite breakfast spots. Wake up early and enjoy.
Darline Jones
Food was ok. Staff was nice. Came on a Tuesday so we got seated right away. Weekend gets packed & its not a big place
Ellen T
This place was ok. We arrived, got seated quickly, and our server was great. The menu in person was a lot different than what’s shown online. We were disappointed that it was more of a breakfast place and less of a Cajun eats place. The crab cake benedict was unappetizingly soggy, and it was full of crab shells.
Eric Garza
Probably the best breakfast I've ever had.
Courtney Jacobs
Food was delicious and service by Lynn was great! Everything as fresh and hot and we had the French toast and crab cake Benedict! If in area this is a must visit!
Jamee Thomas
What an amazing breakfast! Alexia, Frank and Calais were fantastic! They work as a team to see that everyone is taken care of and are prompt in filling coffee and drinks! The music is amazing! Great experience here! The crab cake Benny was amazing and the coffee even though it was not the chicory blend was still a Orleans blend and was fantastic! Definitely recommend! ❤️
Pantea Ahmadi
Really enjoyed the food.
Maria Carpenter
We had breakfast there and we loved it! The coffee and food were wonderful and the workers were very attentive and friendly. We would definitely go again!
Amber Scott
Restaurant only has 12 tables but the food is worth your wait time.
Jennifer Jacob
Came here for breakfast last week. Service is great. Atmosphere is vibrant and cozy. Food was fresh and delicious. I️ had the grits and an omelet. Grits were amazing , omelet delicious. The other ladies I️ was with ordered Bananas Foster French toast and the French toast with Captain Crunch sauce on top. They were very happy.
I also had the Mimosa, freshly squeezed orange juice!!! Highly Recommend!! Prices were $$.
vanessa rueda
Wow. Best breakfast in NOLA hands down. Pork chops were fire and the Cap'n crunch french toast was soooo good not overly sweet. Pancakes were fluffy sooo good!
Michael Martin
Its a neat little place. The grits in my breakfast bowl came out cool (not hot) but edible and they charge $1.00 extra for bagel on Eggs Americano dish, even though the menu or server did not mention it.
Cute place with actually a big menu but taste-wise we did not think it measured up to other NOLA breakfast places.
Carlos Esquivel
I like the atmosphere. It is a small restaurant. I like it. Go early. Good food. Friendly staff. I only give it a 4 star because my sister didn't like her drink or food. You don't feel rushed like at other places.
Daniel Sierra
Nice music! The food was great, I recommend it
Scott Russell
Had brunch here this morning. My dish was the tomato on an English muffin with a garlic cream gravy and two poached eggs with home fries. It was sooooo good! I recommend this quaint dive.
Charles Jacobs
Best breakfast in New Orleans, seriously!!! I just had those Crab 🦀 Cake Benedicts 🍳. Good Lawd!!!! Wife and I jumped on the Harley at 7 a.m. got there at 7:30... got served within 15 mins. We left 45 minutes later and there was at least 50 people in line🚶🏽♂️🚶🏻♀️🧍🏿♂️🚶🏿🧑🏾🦯😆. Go EARLY!! 💯👈🏾 …
Eric Lashea
Wow to whatever French Toast Meaty Sandwich Thing they gave me since they ran out of bananas for the bananas foster French toast I came for. I think I came out better though with the French Toast Meaty Sandwich Thing. Unfortunately when we we're ready to leave I was held hostage waiting for the waitress with the ticket. Overall though, Esuperblé!!!
Jaded Snorlax
Well worth the wait. Nice decour. Small space but packing great flavors
Howard Jacobe IV
Wonderful breakfast spot with delicious food! Close your eyes and point anywhere on the menu and you will not be disappointed. The staff is courteous, outgoing and service is prompt. Make this place a must when you visit Nola
Glen Farrell
Food was tasty but took a while to cook and didn't come out hot
Melissa Dillon
Great food and service. The sandwich with pulled pork and jam was AMAZING!!
Michelle Swanson
Waited 30 min on a Sunday but was soooo worth it. Crab cake Benedict was amazing. Husband raved about the home fries. We are not fancy people in any fashion and loved it. Amber and Angelique killed it!!
Reece Flexner
An cute little cafe/dinner with a full breakfast menu all day and a slew of southern comfort food to boot. Only about 8 tables in the place.
Rip Kerry Friesen
Small quaint restaurant. Great food and nice staff.
Cathy Scavelli
Excellent Breakfast! We have come here 2 days in a row and plan to return for a 3rd time tomorrow before our flight. Even waited over an hour in a thunderstorm the first morning! Food is outstanding! Service is great and atmosphere is awesome! You won’t be disappointed!
Mirta Konj
I would definitely recommend this place to everyone. I have never had better food in my life.
Me and my boyfriend had pork chops and breakfast burrito, few mimosas and a cucumber bloody Mary. Very happy with the service we got and prices were reasonable. 🥰 …
Tamika Mars
We went two days in a row. Yes, it is that good. The staff is a little unusual, but with food being that good I could care less. The blackened pork chop has so much flavor and I cleaned my entire plate. The breakfast pork chops topped with the gravy, awesome. The Monte Crisco was great. Even the breakfast potatoes were good. They actually have great sweet tea here, which is hard to find in New Orleans. Don't let the appearance of the place deter you. The food is so worth it.
Xmiekl Mccollum
Food was decent. I had the steak and eggs, more fat than actual steak but the flavor was delicious. We also had the pork chop breakfast which the chips were delicious. Eggs a bit runny on both but ehh. Atmosphere was great. Customer service great. They are also the only restaurant we went to that did not give military discount. Most others did. Overall an ok experience I wasn’t mad about spending the funds to eat there. It didn’t blow me away either.
Cameron Sours
Great coffee, minosas and breakfast. Recommend the seafood bene
Caryn Pomeranz
we stopped in on a whim before a heading to String Cheese show. Our bartender was awesome (we ended giving her our extra ticket to the show). I wanted the soft shell crab sandwich special without bread and the chef came out and asked if he could make me a salad plate with the soft shell crab. I loved that he was inspired to make a different dish and it was delicious. My sister had the vegetable and eggplant tower that was great too. We had zero expectations and we were very happy with our choice. The drinks were pretty tasty as well!
Ken Kolar
Only 10 tables but sooo worth the wait!!! Food & staff are awesome!!!
Beckon333 Youngkrantz
Overall great food was phenomenal. From the fried green tomatoes that were crisp and fresh with just the right amount of tart, to the 3 pigs and the big bad chicken That was topped with a ham & beschamel sauce. Initial impression was not great thanks to the bartender's attitude we almost walked right out. I'm certainly happy that I didn't and chose to stay and try the food. It is small place with all the makings of a hidden gem of NOLA.
david barrett
The best breakfast we had while in New Orleans. Staff was beyond amazing. Super nice. Food came out quick and hot. And the food? My God. Crab cake eggs benedict. Huge breakfast burrito. Bloody Mary was one of the best I've ever had. Overall, 10/10. You won't be disappointed at all. We went twice while we stayed in the quarter.
Chuck Linderman
What a great little restaurant! We found this place on accident. Limited selections but oh what to Choose? Western omelet with a side of a andouille sausage.
The wife had a Monte Christo and she couldn't eat it all.. raved about how good it was.
Great food, great coffee and wonderful staff. You've got to check Jimmy J's Cafe out. You won't be disappointed.
Ryan Carduner
Vibe is great, server are cool, drinks are probably good. If that’s why you’re you going you won’t be disappointed. I was trying to find the best breakfast food in town, or the best valued breakfast... neither are here, instead you’ll find well prepared standard breakfast fare made with basic ingredients. You may save $1-2 vs across the street, but it’s not worth it, especially if you appreciate delicious coffee.
Phillip Dominick
I ordered the cap n crunch french toast, green onion sausage and home fries and everything was amazing. Already looking forward to going back.
The restaurant is small only about 12 tables so there could be a wait.
Diana Garcia
A MUST TRY Let me say this place food is BEYOND AWESOME! My husband and I came into town and we're looking for a great breakfast with a variety of food. We got there about 730am/8am and were seated fast however, it is a small place so you may need to wait a few minutes as we saw others doing. I had the biscuits and gravy, cinnamon french toast and my husband had the Americon. And they were beyond freaken excellent! The orange juice was freshly squeezed you are going to love it!!! We will definitely be having breakfast there every time we come. It was cooked perfect, fresh and I am so happy that we tried it. MUST HAVE!!!!
Ken Warren
Can't say I've ever had better eggs Benedict! So good. Michael , our server was fantastic. What a pleasure. Great relaxed atmosphere, happy employees ( young lady behind the bar was singing the whole time! AWESOME!!) Guaranteed to enjoy!
JJ O
Good lil breakfast spot to start your day in the french quarter off.
Melissa Amos
Our food was excellent and so was the service!
Wild Cat
Surprisingly wonderful little gem, off the beaten path. Walking distance to most of the downtown hotels and Harrah's. Great service, greay bloody marys, great food and everything was HOT off the grill.
Tom Jones
Walked in to a friendly smile and was immediately seated. Server recommended a few items that were fantastic. First I ordered the fried green tomatoes with crab meat. This dish by far was the best fried green tomatoes I've ever had. Next I had the crawfish cake Benedict which was also delicious and perfectly prepared. The food was great, atmosphere small and cozy, and music was on point. Great job Jimmy J's.
Julie Ruth
There was a bit of a wait to get in for Sunday breakfast, as the place is fairly small. But it was well worth it. I had the Eggs Tuscany - which were poached eggs on polenta, covered with a sort of Italian style of salsa - chunks of tomato, but with Italian seasoning. It was very good. Would definitely go back just to have that again. And again to try other things on the menu!
Hillary Johnson
Not sure why this place has so many good reviews. It really was only okay. Literally everyone there was only there because Ruby Slipper had a one hour wait on a Monday morning. I’d skip this place and wait for Ruby Slipper.
Courtney Newby
The food and service was great! I had the shrimp and crawfish omelet and I definitely recommend! My daughter had the shrimp and grits.....AMAZING! All the servers were great! Go visit! You won't be disappointed!!
David Mooney
Great breakfast place and right next to the market. Wasn't terribly busy in the morning but looked packed later in the evening.
Got the bbq shrimp and chicken and waffles. Both were fantastic. The chicken and waffles were perfectly cooked and served with chicken strips which my wife prefers (no bones). The bbq and shrimp were great as well. Also the drinks were a heavy poor which was needed that particular morning.
Put this one on the list.
Rick Palmer
Very small sit down place, menu has lots of options. I tried the Three Meat Omelette and it was delicious. The potatoes are seasoned to perfection, which gives them great flavor. The service was prompt and pleasant.
Jason P
Great small cafe with a lot of heart. The staff were amazing. The food was fantastic. And they have so many choices for most any palate. Try the fried green tomatoes, the bananas foster French toast, or the crab cakes benedict... all good choices.
M
What a great find! This gem has great food, great service and it is VERY SMALL. I think it's 25 seats? But, well worth the wait.
They did not check for any vaccination card, nor had you wear a mask. With the place being as small is it is, you'd think they would.....disappointing.
Katrina Mickens (PURE MINISTRY)
OMG!! Y'ALL THIS PLACE EAS SOOOOO FREAKING GOOD! YES IM YELLING 😂. We had the pancakes 😋 and they melted in my mouth like butter! We also had the shrimp and egg white burrito 🌯, super delicious!!! Y'all go and check this place out if you are ever in New Orleans 👍🏿🙌🏿. …
Loren
LOVED this restaurant. Very cozy little cafe that serves breakfast all day, classics like burgers and clubs, New Orleans favorites like Po-boys, as well as a few signature dishes. I had the eggplant sandwich and it was absolutely declicious. My mom had the three little pigs sandwich and was very happy as well. Wish we lived closer so that we could come here often!
Seth C
Funky little joint. I wasn't expecting much but I was wrong. The food and service was excellent! The vibe was very eclectic. One of the best kept secrets in NOLA.
Brian & Leticia Steedley
Best little breakfast spot in NOLA! The food was delicious and the waiter was the best part of the experience. He was very attentive to our needs and knowledgeable about the culture of New Orleans. And he was FAST!!!
Leah Stuckman
Amber and Aja were AMAZING! Quality service! So nice and they both had contagious energy. Not to mention the food was amazinnnnng. Get the fruity pebble French toast and thank me later!
Erika Martin
My daughter loved the banana bread French toast. I had the chocolate chip pancakes which were a bit on the overdone side so the chocolate tasted burned. Our friend loved the biscuits and gravy.
Maria Delarosa
This place was awesome! The food was great! Wonderful staff! And the music was the best!
