Reviews of Gallier's Restaurant & Oyster Bar
JeJuJe Ortiz
Mouthwatering oysters! We all know New Orleans is famous for seafood dishes so saying that this restaurant has the best tasting oysters i have ever had in all of my travels within the US is an understatement! I can eat it all day long. Walk it off around French Quarter or Bourbon Street and then come back to eat again. It is really really good! We also got the salmon and the soft crab entrees and they are in perfection! The proximity of the location to Canal Street and other big tourist spots in New Orleans is a bonus. Be sure to check out this place when you are in NOLA!

Gallier’s is super good! The oysters taste great and feel good to eat! I also really enjoyed the seafood pasta! The gumbo is also just right—not too salty or overwhelming. The garlic bread is the best! The ice in the water cup actually feels and tastes decent.

I hate it won't post my videos because it shows the food so much better. We went during lunch time on a Saturday and were seated right away. We ordered margaritas (regular and cognac) with double shots. This is one of the few places we visited where the drinks weren't watered down and I appreciated that. We ordered the oysters (gallery special) and did 3 of each oysters they offered (raw, charbroiled, Rockefeller and creole). The oysters were a good size. I recommend all of them EXCEPT the creole. I'm not sure what it was but my husband and I did not care for these at all. We also ordered a cup of jambalya which was okay. Overall we enjoyed ourselves here. We tried to go back another day for dinner but they were packed. Will definitely try them again the next time we are in town

We visited during happy hour. We had the raw oysters and oyster trio, Caesar salad, and alligator bites. Everything was delicious and much more fairly priced than across the street more in the heart of the French Quarter. Service was very fast.

Easily the best oysters in New Orleans! We ate here the first night in town and absolutely fell in love with the food and service. We proceeded to try other oysters throughout our trip, but ended up coming right back to Gallier’s because no other oysters even came close to being as delicious. HIGHLY recommend the Rockefeller and Creole Oysters. The fried oysters were also the best we had in the city - crunchy on the outside and so juicy on the inside! Kenit was a one of a kind server and made the whole experience memorable for us!

Great food. Poor service. We ordered appetizers, salad and entrees. The appetizers and salad came out together which was fine. However, the entrees came out less than 2 minutes after the appetizers arrived, meaning we had No time to finish the appetizers before the entrance arrived.. Did not see the waitress for a while so we've just used this extra plate she brought us to cover up the entree and keep it warm until we're ready for it
Brian
Wow. We had all kinds of stuff, and it was all great, but this was the best fried shrimp I've ever had in my life. Try it with the cocktail sauce or the remoulade.
Red beans and rice were also fantastic. Catfish was tender and juicy. Everything was perfectly seasoned. And the wait was minimal even though they were very busy.

I was super skeptical about this place at first. But, was pleasantly surprised at how delicious the New Orleans sample and Alligator bites were. We decided the Gumbo was our favorite and ordered a bowl to take back to the hotel. I have to admit. It was the perfect spice for me. It wasn't spicy 🔥 hot at all which is what I was worried about. I think when things are spicy you loose some of the flavors. Definitely wouod come back to get the oyster next time!
Michelle
Food was pretty good! Would give it 3.8 stars if I could but rounding it up. Tried the Gallier’s Special with all the oyster varieties which was pretty tasty. My fav was the raw oysters since the oysters were juicy and delicious on their own! All the others came smothered in butter, cheese, etc. - not bad but not my typical taste profile. Jambalaya was also tasty but not knock-my-socks-off amazing. Tasted better and had more of the “oomph” I was expecting after I added some Louisiana hot sauce on top. Overall it was an enjoyable first night dinner, but I probably wouldn’t come back.

The waiter was very entertaining and the food was great. The oysters are quite large compared to those you find in other cities but the flavor was awesome. It wasn't the most upscale place but that's exactly the vibe I was hoping for.
Carla Cordoves
The Fish Poboy (almost 1ft long - 2 people ate) was amazing. Delicate yet very tasty. Crunchy on the outside and soft in the inside. All ingredients tasted fresh. Will recommend. Service was very quick - had it about 5min after we ordered.
James Rac
My fiancee and I found this place just walking around town. We didn't plan it but oh boy, it was amazing.
We got the creole oysters followed by alligator bites, alligator poboy and red beans and rice. This was the first REAL local food here. Get the oysters, you will not be disappointed. Or get anything else, everything we had was #chef_kiss.
Matthew Hall
Thank you Gallier's for making my first meal in the Big Easy a very memorable one.
I stumbled upon this gem and I will say I was very satisfied with the whole service....they even give military discounts. Oh and yes the bread was that good.....lol
I had the Mississippi drink which was very tasty.
If.... better yet when I'm back in town I'll be back.
Sarah S
We had Rockefeller oyster and seafood platter with soft shell crab add on. My fiance normally can't eat oysters , but he tried this time and he actually liked it. For me though, as an oyster lover, the spinach cream topping was too much and hid all the favors of oyster. It was still tasty.
Seafood platter was good. Fried fish was actually very nice and soft, and I did like fried oysters. Soft shell crab was just okay.
It was a long wait tho. And you have to be around.
Antoinette
The wait was about 25-30 minutes. The hostess was very friendly. The food came out quick but lacked flavor and seasoning. The bread pudding was the best and save the day, truly the only reason for the 3 star review.
Derek T
Good spot with authentic food, fresh oysters daily, good drinks and friendly bartenders.
Gumbo in particular is good.
If you are in a nearby hotel, worthy of your first or last meal in town.
Reasonable prices.
Didi Diaz
Walked in and sat immediately. Located Right off the bourbon strip past canal street. The food was excellent. Service is very good. Portions are massive and well priced. There is a full bar. The seafood pasta can easily serve 2 people with big appetites. The shrimp po boy was our favorite.
April L
Two of us ordered a dozen raw oysters and a dozen Rockefeller, both of which were amazing. The seafood pasta was also great. Highly recommend
Johnny Seng
We were lucky to get in here on a busy Saturday night with only a 45 min wait. On a busy night, our server was great and food came out pretty fast. Loved the gator bites and crab cakes. Didn't get any oysters, but will definitely try them next time.
Joanna Jardin
The Gallier's Special oyster platter was delicious! I'm not normally a big fan of oysters, but this place will make you fall absolutely in love with them. I would plan another trip to New Orleans just to come back here.
The Creole, Charbroiled, and Rockefeller oysters tasted amazing. Each flavour was so good, I can't even recommend a favourite!
Sean Clark
The Rockefeller oysters were amazing! We also got the seafood platter. The breading could have definitely been a little crispy as it was soggy coming out, but the fish, shrimp and oysters underneath the breading were great! The bread pudding for dessert was also delicious.
Jenny Tran
The food was okay . The red beans and rice tasted liked it came out of a can . The gumbo didn’t have much flavor. The oysters were the only good dish they had . The service was great . Nice and friendly
Andrea A
Superb oysters. We got the sampler and everything was fresh and delicious. I had probably never had such a great raw oyster before. Aligátor bites were succulent and the gumbo was not hot spicey but did had a little kick to it (perfect for me). I would come back a again.
Mark Mendola
Gallier's did an effective job of offering the New Orleans seafood experience. My softshell crab was well-cooked, with a spicy chili dipping sauce in addition to the remoulade. The fries were solid and green beans still crisp. The beer menu was limited but had good options. My kid had a burger that he enjoyed.
I did order some oysters that were never served, but I wasn't charged and the service was otherwise spot on.
Xavier Bunyan
The Raw Oysters were fresh and delicious here and the staff was very friendly. Definitely made my trip to New Orleans very memorable, also try the Shrimp Po Boy you won't be disappointed.
Carlos Armas
It's New Orleans...and Oysters are a MUST!
Yes, there are so many other options, but a trip here, really should include that briny bivalve. Gallier's was my stop, on a recent business trip, and I decided to take a position at the bar. Place was decently busy and had the smell of a seafood kitchen. A kitchen-prep guy was behind the bar shucking away and prepping half-shell orders. The Bartender/Waitress was pleasant and quick to give me a menu. I went with Charbroiled Oysters with Alligator Bites, as a follow-up. The Oyster's, covered with a melted cheese (shredded Parmesan, I think), were plump and nicely salted, and not overcooked. A few slices of garlic bread accompanied the dish and were a good tool to sop up any remaining liquor. It's a pity I only ordered six. The Alligator bite's had a good breading and the bites had a decent chew. Alligator is neutral-tasting protein, so a sauce, in this case a remoulade, made for an enjoyable meal. The overall service at the bar was a little slow, but I also only had ice water, so maybe more attention would have been given had I had ordered a Mai Tai. In ay event the meal tab was fair at about $28, before tip. The location is a nice little haunt and the food, delivered as promised. I can hear those little mollusks beckoning for me to return....and so I will.
Ben Heighway
The Alligator Bites Po Boy was PHENOMENAL. The gator was the bomb. The bread was extremely fresh and light and the special mayo was excellent.
T Highlen
The food & service were spectacular! 🌟
Oyster Rockefeller & fried oysters - yum.
Great oyster poor boy sandwich on a gorgeous brioche bun. And the Red snapper was exactly what we needed.
Gem the waitress was terrific. ♥️
Sue Hardy
Food was fantastic, our server was awesome. We tried the shrimp poboy, the sampler and the bread pudding. We were pleased with everything.
Anna Iker
So YUMMY! I got the seafood penne pasta and my husband got the red snapper. We shared both dishes and they were both equally amazing! So fresh and even the Caesar salad was unique and delicious. 100% recommend!
Maribel Velez
We made a quick stop here to have some oysters. We ordered the Rockefeller oysters and the charbroiled oysters. The were so good! The Rockefeller were my favorite! If you come here, order the Rockefeller oysters. You won’t regret it!
Ronnie Elkhatib
We went to 6 different Oyster bars in New Orleans and out of all of them this one was the ONLY ONE that had Oysters Rockefeller.
All the other restaurants in the city have Rockefeller on the menu but when asked they all said that they no longer carry the dish.
Gallier's was a great choice for us. The service was VERY PROMPT. The food was AMAZING! And the portions were HUGE!!!
I had no idea there was a such thing as Oyster Steroids but it must be a thing because these babys were JUICED UP!! More than a mouth full in each shell.
Do not pass up this restaurant if you are in New Orleans!
Crystal Lopez
Incredibly warm service! Both the hostess & servers were incredibly attentive & helpful. Relaxed atmosphere & snug seating, but negligible during the slow hour we went. We had the shrimp platter, the fish platter, & gumbo soups. The soups were delicious (not overly spicy) & the platters were decently sized for their prices. Would definitely come again~
John Fischer
This is one of my most favorite places anywhere. Had lunch with my son and everything was amazing once again. Service is great. Staff is amazing and the food is just as good.
Gilbert C
Was able to grab a solo lunch in between a walk. To keep it short; servers were lovely, food was good, pricing is fair, establishment was clean.
Would come back for a quick meal and if i didnt want to wait.
Elizabeth George
Delicious! I got the oyster sampler but subbed with 4 of each of the cooked variety. They were SO good! I wish I could have finished them, but with fried green tomatoes and a couple of their cocktails, I was absolutely stuffed. It's a convenient location with superb staff, fun music, and awesome food.
Nanette Malcolm
We ordered the oyster sampler--so good. Bread pudding to die for. Great server. Highly recommend.
Tammy Lampley
We both had the redsnapper w/ a creamy crawfish tail sauce, green beans and potatoe salad. Absolutely delicious! Nice casual restaurant and very friendly staff. Very clean. A must if visiting new Orleans!
Izzy Lin
Gallier's special selection of oysters was very tasty, definitely recommend it! However the shrimp poboy and soft shell crab were just ok. Good service too!
B Blalock
I got Red beans and rice for my appetizer and they were very very good and I also got for my main course the jambalaya and I can say this place is a 10/10 for food and service. Kenneth was very polite , sweet and attentive.
Farkas Fruzsi
Amazing food! We were seated fast and our food came very shortly. Our server, Jelly, was kind and helpful. The menu is full of authentic food! Gumbo, Jambalaya, Charboiled ochster, alligator, poboy, hurricane drink, etc😍
willy whisman
Great service. Everything was a hit. Even the double cheeseburger had great flavor. The oyster medley so good. Way worth it. Salmon was good. And jambalaya delicious. Would come back here if there's weren't so many choices.
Andrew Click
So good! We took our family of six (4 kids, 6-13 here for dinner one night and enjoyed every bit of it. Shrimp linguini, salmon, grilled shrimp and fried shrimp/fish platter was split between us and DELICIOUS bread pudding finished us off. Host was entertaining and a pleasure to chat with while we waited and during dinner. Would definitely come back!
Mae Mara
Great service! Our server Jessica was great and gave us some tips in maneuvering the city since it is our first time! We got the oyster platter and it is the best oysters Ive ever had! I got the gumbo and it is good just a little spicy for my liking. Their cocktails are sweet and not as alcohol-y which my friends and I liked! We also had the bread pudding which is great as well. Would love to come back for more oysters.
Madeleine Lutts
So happy we found this place next to our hotel. Our waiter CJ was the absolute best. He went above and beyond. The oysters were fresh and delicious (so good we ate 12 each). Happy hour was an awesome surprise. Everything was amazing! We had Jumbalaya, fried green tomatoes. A bunch of great local beers on draft. Couldn’t recommend this place more. Thank you CJ!
Vortex Productions LLC.
Out of ALL the restaurants that have Rockefeller Oysters on the menu, this was the only one that actually serves the dish. Everyone else told us they weren't available.
We were lucky to find Gallier's Because the service was extremely fast. The staff was very friendly and the food was absolutely AMAZING!
The Sauce on The Oysters Rockefeller had something in it that made me want to lick my plate. I tried but my wife had to use force to stop me.
And the size of these Oysters was INTENSE. Im sure that they were on steroids or something because they were HUGE!!. I mean there was definitely more than a mouth full in each shell.
If you are looking for great Oysters, great service and reasonable prices dont waste your time with any other restaurant in New Orleans. Make Gallier's restaurant and Oyster Bar your first stop. You wont regret it!!
Michelle Jackson Corrao
The BEST oysters in town. This place can get pretty busy in the evenings, but they sat our group of 4 within minutes during the busiest times of Mardi Gras.
Tammy Cassady Carreola
What a hidden gem! Walked in 30 minutes before closing and was pleasantly greeted by Jeremy who was absolutely phenomenal and made us feel extremely welcomed. Our server was Lily and she was the most awesome server we experienced in all of New Orleans during our stay. She gave us some great food recommendations and was quick to get our appetizers and food orders in and out. The atmosphere was great and we felt so comfortable here.
Then the food- the oysters were huge and oh so tasty as were our main dishes of pasta and fish. I highly recommend this restaurant and also ask for Lily!
Donald Keyser
Very nice place, good food. Open later than most places which is why I went there, wasn't disappointed. Wait staff were all friendly and helpful. The place was packed, but didn't wait "too long" for good to come out.
Violet Hoda
Great food and service! Had the grill shrimp platter, seafood pasta and oysters.
Melissa Peters
Afternoon delight! Try to get in early to avoid a wait. Must try the fried oysters and gumbo . . . they were perfection.
J Zant
Stopped in after a disappointing experience at another oyster bar.
Had a crab cake that was pretty good. Shared our experience with poor quality oysters at the other bar earlier with their oyster shucker. He comped us a 1/2 dozen beautiful, salty and plump oysters. Smiley for the win!
Beer was fresh and cold. Bartender was friendly and fast as possible.
Thanks y'all!
keith kremmel
I sat at the bar. I had the seafood pasta. It was awesome. CJ makes some great drinks too. Highly recommend stopping here
Craig “Mr. Taper” Logan
I was searching for seafood spots near the hotel and this popped up first. I thought since it was ranked so high that there would be a long wait. I was fortunate that the wait time was only 10 minutes. The restaurant was a little smaller than I expected but my table was in an excellent location. I ordered the crabcake (appetizer) and it was sooooo good. I wish I would have got more than 1 though. My entree was the salmon, green beans and house salad. Everything was delicious! The salmon melted in your mouth. I then tried some chargrilled oysters. This was ny first time EVER eating oysters. They were ok but a little too cheesy for me. Our waiter, Jeremy, was excellent as well. He was very helpful, informative and sociable. This is going to be my seafood spot whenever I come back to New Orleans.
Wendy Buckler
Great food! We had Oysters Rockefeller and gobbled them up so fast I failed to get a pic. These were different than I ever had with had a creamy sauce in addition to the normal cheese and spinach. They were very tasty. Would definitely order them again. After seeing the gigantic plates piled with huge portions, we decided to split 2 plates among the 4 of us. We had the red snapper, which was perfectly cooked, seasoned and topped. The side of vegetables (fresh green beans) was enormous and was more than enough for sharing as well as the side salad. We also ordered the salmon which was a large portion which came blackened. There was plenty to share here as well. Lastly, we ordered the chocolate mousse cake which was perfectly portioned and deliciously light and wonderful. The only reason we give 4 stars was due to the 2 drinks my husband ordered. They were out of Red Bull and then they were out of Miller Lite. Both common choices, but it’s early dinner hour on Saturday so we felt those items should be in stock. We would eat here again for sure.

In New Orleans for a conference and looking for a place to have my birthday dinner. We decided to go to Galliers. Best food I have had since being in NOLA. The red snapper was amazing! Highly recommend!
Dale Kangas
Hands down the best food we had in New Orleans. This place looks pretty humble, but the food does the talking. I would give this 10 stars if I could. Don't waste your time or money going somewhere more expensive and pretentious. I am not a picky eater, but I hold restaurants to an extremely high standard when I spend my hard earned money there. I am a very good home cook and expect the food to be WAY better than what I can make at home. Gallier's absolutely delivered on the food part and the staff was extremely friendly and helpful. This place was the highlight of our trip. Just go. Trust me, there is no way you'll be disappointed. I highly recommend the Gallier's special that had 4 kinds of oysters. That was absolutely delicious.

Just off canal and sitting in an inconspicuous location. Doesn’t look like much, but that’s where it all ends. Had the red snapper with fresh cut beans with a side of hot green tomatoes! Topped off with some charbroiled oysters. We were literally blown away as the food was bolder than the look. Our server, Pedro was on his tiptoes providing service and very gracious. If you want a nice dinner, stop in and be amazed.
K Min
Their Raw Oysters are big, but lack the sweetness I like. Jambalaya and Gumbo were pretty mediocre.
Jennifer Garcia
Food was excellent! We ordered way too much but each dish was worth it. The trio of oysters was delicious, highly recommend!
Nisey Raymond
Thee best!! Our Uber driver from the night before, Elliana, suggested this place. She said she worked there and bragged about how good the food was. I was skeptical but am now, SOLD!! We arrived at 12:30 on Fat Tuesday because they were due to open at 1! Our server was Jelly. She was so sweet and informative about the menu options! Loved her! We ordered two dozen oysters, some soft shell crabs, blackened red fish, a bowl of red beans and rice, and some alligator bites. The food was phenomenal. Thank you Elliana for telling us about this hidden gem!!! It really made our Mardi Gras experience so much better!
Willetta Childs
Visiting NOLA with my BFF for her Birthday. We had looked for some places with good seafood and Charleston style shrimp and grits.
It took a few minutes before we were acknowledged but we were seated and greeted with the best waitress "Jelly"..
Sweet and very informed about the items on the menu.
I ordered the Shrimp Po boy and Ooowee.. that sandwich is huge.. with so many Shrimp. Delicious. I will be returning. My friend had the Jambalaya and loved it.
Scott McMahan
Extremely good! The service was top notch! Our waiter was the absolute best and the reaturant was packed. This place is like Might Mouse...small, but packs a large punch. The hurricane was really good and the oysters are out of this world. I've eaten at a lot of places in NOLA and this one is high on the list. Just a block out of the quarter and worth every step!
Fitness & Motivation
I am not a fan of oysters… had them once and they were disgusting to me. I was told to go to Gallier’s and try the charbroiled oysters. I went in and ordered a half dozen because I was skeptical. They came out quickly and after trying the first one, I was immediately shocked at how delicious it was! After finishing 6th and final oyster, I was looking at the tray trying to see if I missed one! I think they sprinkled a lil bit of crack on them! Had me in there looking like a fein searching for more!
I also had the gator bites. Ordered that just in case I didn’t like the oysters and they were also delicious!
Hands down, the best oysters I’ve ever had! I’ll definitely have them again!
ADSN TV
The ADSN crew hit the Gallier's Restaurant and Oyster Bar in New Orleans today. Great, flavorful meal. The Cajun chicken sandwich and the Red Snapper were pretty good.
Ilyasa
The server was so delightful and service A+. I gave 3 stars because, while cooked well (not crunchy enough for my grandson though), the fried fish had little flavor. The potato salad seemed to be store bought and not made in house; being a self-proclaimed gumbo connoisseur 🤗, it resembled that of Campbell’s soup - seriously. I was so disappointed in it. The oysters were pretty good, however but nothing out there ordinary. Would I return, no. Again, the server made up for the food.
Ernst Fantaisy
The oysters here are amazing. The Gallier's special is where it's at, trust me! The restaurant is also steps qway from Bourbon so its not so busy, another delight.
Aimee Petko
Were sat within 5 minutes at the bar, not our first choice- however the bartender won us over quickly and we ended up giving up our table! CJ [George from Chicago] was amazing- attentive, knowledgeable, and overall worked that counter! If you're looking for new experiences, great food and yummy drinks you have found a gem!
Nel N
This place has the best tasting and freshest raw oysters out of every place I went to in New Orleans.. I couldn’t tell you about anything else because I came specifically for this during their happy hour, and got a few NOLA beers. Very sad that I didn’t get to go a second time before leaving, but when I come back I would definitely drop in again!
Darius Elder
Ate here last night after a long drive into new orleans. The food was really good, especially the oysters. I added pictures of my family's meals, and the oysters were so good we ate them before I could get a picture, ha. I had the shrimp and grits, my sones had the snapper and red fish and my wife had the fried fish plate. The fried fish was so lite and airy breading and the fish so tender and fresh, it was terrific. The only reason I gave 4 stars and not 5 was the service was a bit lacking and the restaurant itself needed a deep clean. Overall, my reccomendation is order to go...and don't skip on the oysters.
Marlyn Soto
After seating and having our water serve, we asked for steak, they didn't have it. We were very disappointed since in the online menu still advertising that they have it. The server RG was very polite, We end up leaving.
Roberto E
Don't bother with the fancy oysters. The red ones are something mixed with ranch. The Rockefeller ones are topped with spinach and artichoke dip the other 2 are tons of chewy toasted cheese. The jambalaya was good. Had to ask them to clear dishes. A bus boy was being berated mercilessly by staff. Really didn't like that. Food not memorable enough to return.
Chyna Bailey
Absolutely loved this place. First off, our waiter was the absolute best. I wish I could remember his name! He’s very witty, vibrant, and was hilarious. Anyone who’s been here knows exactly who I’m talking about. I got gumbo, jambalaya, and red beans and rice and they were FANTASTIC. The soft shell crab and shrimp are both delicious, and you get large portions. It’s packed so get in early. The people here are some of the hardest workers I’ve ever seen. The foot traffic was non stop and they were constantly kind and accommodating. Definitely a place you don’t want to miss when in Nola.
Kimberlee Spradlin
Fabulous oysters. We ordered a dozen and re-ordered another half dozen. Our favorite restaurant in NOLA!!
Abrielle Mullins
Literally so good!! My husband and I are in New Orleans for the weekend and stopped by for dinner. Our food and service was so awesome! I had red snapper and my husband had salmon. Both were really good but the red snapper was the best! Also, the alligator bites were great! This is an awesome spot to get dinner if you are in New Orleans!!!
Harry Graham
This is my All time Nola favorite!!! The gumbo and the blackened fish wete awesome!!!
Rodger Kueck
We tried a little bit of everything. Shrimp po boys, pasta, gumbo, gator bites, jambalaya, and bread pudding. It was all very good.
James Duke
Great place to grab some classic New Orleans grub. The dining area is pretty small so be prepared to wait during peak hours, but the food is well worth it. We've added this to our list of must-return places when we visit the Big Easy.
Pamela Fowler
They were all delicious but the chargrilled were my favorite. This was a very casual place to eat.
Jason Thomson
Found this gem on a Google search my last night in New Orleans. Great blackened redfish with their special sauce. Had to end this evening with a hurricane.
Michelle Thompson
CJ was amazing! The food and drinks were also out of this world good. You must come here.
Wendy Firestone
Kenneth was our server, and he was delightful! Charming and attentive. Much appreciated!
Great gumbo, oysters were huge. I only wished I had saved room for the bread pudding!
Thank you Kenneth for making our meal special.
Karisa Stinson
Our food was delicious! We had gator bites, shrimp and grits, crabcake pasta, and tour of New Orleans. Everything was wonderful!
Denise Bethea
Food was well seasoned and flavorful and service was fast and friendly. Enjoyed the oyster platter, extremely tasty, and red snapper. All was excellent. Left with a full belly but not with a stuffed or heavy feeling.
Ashudeep Singh
The oysters were great and so was the bayou pasta. I had lower expectations after seeing the menu and ambiance, but was pleasantly surprised by the food and the service. Would easily recommend to others.
Nae
Service friendly. Oysters, salmon, and jambalaya were good. Jambalaya is seasoned and spicy but not too much. I was going to pass this place up because of negative reviews but glad I didn't.
Mckenzie
Lilly was amazing! Super sweet and took such great care of us. The food and drinks were absolutely delicious! I am so glad we visited the place spring our stay in New Orleans
Alberto A.
First time in New Orleans and found this restaurant near my location. Once there I was greeted by kind staff who quickly seated me. Giving this restaurant 5 stars because of the amazing customer service and great food that I had to begin my adventure in New Orleans. I ordered a beer after asking our server to give suggestions on something local. To my surprise the server was very aware of the beer selections and prior to letting me buy it, I was given some to taste. Attention to the customer was spot on. Ate oyster and they were all delicious. This was followed by an amazing fried osyter sandwich with fries. Fries were well season and crispy. The sandwich itself was great. I wish the oyster were seasoned a bit more, but it was still good. I left with a great impression of food around the area and satisfied this was my first experience eating in New Orleans. Customer service was attentive and friendly.
Matthew Griffith
A bit unfortunate really. They had no fresh Oysters left and could only do a deep fried version. We should have walked away at that point. My eating partner had a tasty gumbo starter and we shared a seafood platter. It consisted of chucking everything into a deep fat frier. The bloody Mary (s) I had were great and waiter was enthusiastic, but overall disappointed for our last meal in NOLA.

After much deliberation, we decided to stop in Gallier's for lunch before heading home. It was a cool little spot. The Creole oysters were good but admittedly, I've never had oysters with so many pieces of shell melted into the topping. It was kinda weird. I had to constantly pick them out of my mouth while I was eating. Eww. I'm a lady! *clutches pearls*
Anywho, Hubby and I both had fried the shrimp platter and it was pretty standard. Our boys had the kids burger. I asked for a cocktail menu and was told they could only serve beer and wine because there was no bartender on duty. I was a bit annoyed by the lack of a bartender and the many shell pieces in my oysters, but overall it was an decent spot.
Marc Cox
My wife and I went here for a quick bite as we wanted seafood, but didn't want to have to walk all the way down to the french quarter to get it.
It was a bit busy and crowded, but it felt cozy instead of claustrophobic. Our server was great, the cocktails were excellent, and the food was on point.
Everything arrived quickly and the staff operates as a well oiled machine.
Highly recommend if you want to skip the bustle of the french quarter.
Tim
Went on a Sunday for lunch. I started with the red beans + rice and grilled oysters. Both were very delicious and flavorful and served with a side of garlic toast. For my main I had the shrimp po’ boy and the remoulade on it was out of this world. Extremely friendly server and staff.
Marcus Matthews
Awesome food. Super high-quality. Very tasty. The best crabcakes me and my wife ever had. Will definitely go back. But pricey, but we think it’s worth it!
Erica Byers
Kenneth was awesome. He explained the menu very accurately. The oysters were delicious especially the Creole oysters. Great atmosphere, great drinks, and very great customer service experience.
Joe M
Our favorite go-to restaurant in NOLA. Great gumbo, jambalaya and oysters. Staff are all very friendly with prompt and attentive service. Kenneth is one of our favorites! Highly recommended.
Ginger Pocock
We ordered a Bloody Mary and an old fashioned to start. Blah-ish and not good. Charbroiled oysters were meh. Blackened red snapper was very disappointing. Not sure why they have 4.5 stars here. Three stars feels more accurate
Phil Sasak
Delicious oysters Rockefeller - they're now my new favorite! Great music and good service! The local draft IPA pairs with the oysters, as well.
Amy Bulthuis
We stumbled on this neighborhood, locals place, and so happy we did. We sat at the bar, as the place was full, and that made for the most fun night. Got to make new friends while we enjoyed the food and friendly ambience. CJ, the bartender, took great care of everyone and served up Gallier's amazing food. Grilled and raw oysters, gumbo, poboys, and to top it off, bread pudding! All delicious. Thanks, CJ, and Gallier's for a great evening!!
Team Archie
Great food and service. The oysters were huge. We had raw and fried. Seafood platter does not come with crab as pictured but they explained that in detail.
mattyrog89
Kenneth was amazing as our waiter. The Gallier's special chargrilled oysters we delicious. The gumbo had a good dark roux, maybe a little thin but tasty.
Heather Hinton
I'm local to New Orleans and this is definitely your go to place for chargrilled oysters, specifically the oyster Rockefeller!!!! The snapper is delicious, and the gumbo is a TRADITIONAL gumbo! Not the powder roux this other places serve
Garrett S
Gallier's Restaurant & Oyster Bar is
Relatively cheap, close to Burbon St action
open to 10PM, and very good! what can
say;-)

Came in on a Saturday night with an 8:30 reservation for seven people. I'm not sure we really needed one, because the place was kind of empty at that time. We all wanted to try a bunch of different things, so we decided to just order a few dishes and share them. This is what we had:
Cup of gumbo - we each got a cup. I liked it but almost everyone else in my party didn't care for it
Crab cake - not very memorable. Also was served on top of a piece of wilted, very sad-looking piece of lettuce
Oysters Rockefeller - a little too rich for me
Charbroiled oysters - these were not bad but I've definitely had better charbroiled oysters elsewhere. They were also pretty rich so my advice to you would be to only get one type of oyster. Having both was a bit too much
Grilled salmon - I'm not a huge fan of cooked salmon (I only like it in sushi form), but everyone was raving about. They said it was cooked perfectly.
House salad with shrimp - this was probably the best dish. I think by that time, we had all been eating too much salty/buttery things, so the greens were a refreshing change of pace. The shrimp was also good. It didn't have that muddy taste that a lot of shrimp tend to have down here
Overall, everything was just okay. It didn't really stand out to me as a place I would return to the next time I visit NOLA.
Michelle Nguyen
We went on a Tuesday night and it was dead. My husband chose this restaurant from Yelp reviews. It was by our hotel. The best dish we had was the crab cakes. It was loaded with crab meat. The gumbo was too salty for my taste. Our waiter was great. He was very attentive. I wanted to try their Charbroiled oysters. It can’t compare to the ones at Drago’s.
Diana Nead
Highly recommend. The service was fantastic. Food was out super fast. Excellent choice for oysters.
Kelvin Bailey
I stumbled upon this restaurant, and I'm glad I did. The food was excellent, and the service was great. My catfish po boy was delicious. I highly recommend.
Sergii Starostin
A relaxed place with great happy hour offer: $10 for a dozen of dead oysters, but horseradish make them taste OK, $5 crab cake and $5 for 3 oysters baked with different kind of staff. Good for only happy hours. Great bartender
Kazem Ghazaleh
We had a great experience, our old group met here to reconnect and found the place accommodating, the grilled fish with creole sauce was delicious, we also tried the oysters and
Po boys, service was great.
Heather MacC
Definitely come for the oysters! The Gallier's oyster platter allows you to try each of their four kinds of oysters - raw, chargrilled, Creole, and Rockefeller, and each of those are downright scrumptious.
Ronda Cumby
Oysters Creole and Rockefeller! You will NOT be disappointed! We also had the seafood platter with fried catfish, oysters, and shrimp. Also delicious. Looking for a casual restaurant with amazing food? Look no further, Gallier's is the place. Staff were very pleasant and accommodating. Brooklyn was an awesome server, super friendly and attentive. Our first time here, but will not be our last!
James Reuss
Great food in a friendly neighborhood bar setting. Oysters!
Pierre Suranto
The good: ambiance was decent, LOVED the musician, wife really enjoyed the oysters; the not-so good, my plate SUCKED (I mean was pretty darn bad) eggs were cold, no flavor, other than the sausage (that was tasty), but overall appearance, taste...looked like something my 9 year old tossed on a plate. My Pimms drink was so-so at best, I can't speak for the mimosas (hard to get them wrong tho). The server was less than friendly and seemed hurried the entire time. With spots like the Ruby Slipper and so many other options in the area, not sure I'd return here when visiting NOLA.
Nick S
First the service is exceptionally managed by Jeremy. He took care of all of our needs and made sure we had a nice time.
Their hostess is kind and attentive and lone server a hard worker and thoughtful. Their bartender mixed a delicious Saz, not too sweet, and compliments to the kitchen!
They have a bit of construction, but do not worry and make your way there. We caught the tail end of holy hour and took full advantage: buy one flight get one free! Incredible btw!
I had the grilled redfish, very good and perfectly cooked. Others had traditional dishes like gumbo and shrimp platter. We also ordered a cheeseburger off the kids menu and it was big enough to be adult size!
Notes: it’s a smaller place and they have a corporate Reno next to them so they are a bit hard to find and get into. Try the place from 4-6 for happy hour and enjoy their oysters! I enjoyed the one with the red sauce most of all, blew me away!
Deb Y
The chargrilled oysters are amazing and the blackened redfish was absolutely delicious! This is our go to spot for oysters in NOLA. Highly recommend this restaurant!
A Gzz
The food was good and the service was awesome
Prude L
Charbroiled and creole oysters - fabulous. Tried the New Orleans trio, salmon, Cajun pasta and seafood platter. All 5 stars
anthony lee
Sampler oyster was great tasting of the four types of oysters (3 were baked) Anne was an very helpful waitress. Reasonable priced. Poboys fresh and wonderful
Harvey Schonfeld
We shared the fried shrimp platter with fries and a side salad with a couple of beers. All very pleasant and reasonable.
Victor Google
The best restaurant in NOLA with fair price and great food. It is so good that we decided to come back at the end of a 3-day stay in NOLA.
Warda Shafi
We order a shrimp appetizer and an entree of gumbo, and it was more than enough for the two of us. Both the dishes were well prepared, the place was clean and the staff was friendly and humble(something that I really appreciate). We ended up splitting the bill and the total was around 16$(8$/person) and you just simply cannot beat that price .
Matthew Thomas
Great drinks and amazing Oysters! Rockefeller and Creole are the only way to go. It's a simplistic setting with food to die for.
April Bennington
I'm always on the lookout for a good happy hour, so after a not happy hour priced Ramos Gin Fizz at the Sazerac Bar, my travel buddy and I headed nearby to Gallier's. It was mid afternoon on a pretty crummy day, weatherwise, so the place was pretty quiet and service was attentive, but not obnoxious. The raw oysters were cold, fresh and delicious as was the pear elderflower cocktail I had. We also sampled the Oyster Trio and decided that the Creole style (a Gallier's original) was our favorite.
TXSuburbanHomestead
I really enjoyed my time there. I went during happy hour. The oysters were good, but not super briny like I've been having on my recent East Coast travels so the flavor was muted overall. I had the fried oyster po-boy. It was huge! And really good. The deals during happy hour were good enough I would recommend going back.
Malinda Medlock
This was one of my favorite meals that I had in NOLA! This was one of the best sandwiches I've ever had. The ciabatta was delicious (and I'm not a bread person) the chicken was well seasoned and the mushrooms and onions were delicious. The onions were slightly pickled which was amazing. The fries were perfect. They also have amazing and STRONG hurricanes.
Hennry Hys
Loved the gumbo and the four of us agreed that they have the best oysters we ever ate. They are huge and had a fresh clean taste.
changjiang8005
Really good food. Loved all the oyster there. The red snapper was great as well.
Raisa Choudhury
Best place for seafood ! They have a great happy hour menu in the late afternoons which is great for trying out their menu. Theirs was the best crawfish ettouffee I've had in New Orleans.
zhiting zheng
the raw oyster there is sooooo good and fresh. We went there at 6 :30pm and waited for around 40min. Definitely worth the wait!!b
Sarah Smith
This was a diamond in the rough. Daisy Duke's is next door but this place caught our eye. It's classic New Orleans fare that tastes like a home cooked meal in a chic new location. Service was personable and knowledgeable, and the food was hot and fresh. Excellent draft beer selection as well as cocktails. Great experience and look forward to trying brunch!
Macky James
Galilier’s was a great oyster experience and the seafood panini pasta was fantastic! My wife is super picky about oysters and gave it 5⭐️ right off bourbon st too so def a must stop for date night or a nice but relaxed dinner experience!!
vincent probst
Always come here for the charbroiled oysters which are still great. This visit our server was average at best. My shrimp po boy was a bit over cooked gotta take the good with the bad. I will still come back as I always do.
Rudi DiPrima
After arriving in New Orleans and checking in, we headed here for our first meal in The Big Easy. Our server, Ana, was friendly, prompt and helpful. I had the crawdad etouffee while my wife had the seafood platter. My stepson got the oyster platter and my mother in law had the seafood penne. The highlight was the oyster Rockerfeller appetizer. The seafood platter dishes were all served fried in a light, subtly season batter, not too heavy. The penne was good, not overcooked, in a nice creamy tomato sauce. I enjoyed the etouffee, it was the first time I'd ever had it, so I didn't know what to expect: it was a tasty, spicy broth with rice. I guess the crawdad escaped or was vaporized. Anyway, I liked the place because it was just past all the debauchery of Bourbon St. on a quiet street across Canal, so it felt local. Overall a nice experience.
BlackStaffX
Phenomenal service, phenomenal food, and a phenomenal experience, best oysters I've ever had on top of some amazing pasta.
Yvette Johnson
The food the atmosphere the people. Jeremy was so wonderful to meet. The food was absolutely the best. Fried oysters oysters on the half shell oh my god this place is the best. When you’re in New Orleans this is the place to go when you want to have someone treat you like you’re home. We went here twice for our vacation because the food was so good. I’ll give five stars for the food five stars for the staff five stars for just the experience.
Robin Coffey
Went here on a whim, so thankful we did. We love oysters rock. We make our own at home. The oysters here are the best we've ever had. Hand down. The creamy cheese sauce was the best ever, delicious, and the biggest oysters we have EVER seen. Juliette was refreshingly friendly, attentive, pleasant, she did not make us feel rushed at all and it was packed. We will return, oh and the hurricane drink 🍸 is best in area! Fries hot and crispy, fried gator bites were crunchy and flavorful. Request Juliette! Awesome.
Catarina B
Good spot for some drinks and some southern food. I would definitely get the Blue Lemonade!
I ordered fried fish and fries and it was a perfect Saturday lunch option. The service was great!
William Dominguez
Great food! Great service! Get the Creole and Rockefeller oysters, the alligator bites and Jelly as your server! She's absolutely awesome at what she does!
N Christie
Small place, @ time of visit no waite time. Had the opportunity to see oysters being brought in. Big portion of food.
dnvrsdad1
Great service. Good food and drinks. Nice restaurant. Recommend!
Brian Won
Was hoping to find better away from the tourist traps, but this was pretty average. Red fish was cooked well and hence wasn't very tasty, charbroiled oysters were forgettable- something about the cheese and whatnot on top didn't pan out like the better places.
Bryan DeMinico
So, we were totally knew to the French Quarter, walked out of the hotel, wandered around, walked by this place, looked at the menu, and decided give it a chance. The oysters were plump and juicy, and full size, and the grilled oysters were also amazing. My fiance is always in search of the perfect Bloody Mary, and she reported to me from across the table that the Bloody Mary here was "very good," so that's that. The prices were also reasonable, the atmosphere great. I highly recommend. next time I would like to explore more on the menu because everything looked delicious.
Pete
One of our favorite restaurants while in New Orleans. The Oyster Rockefeller was amazing!!!
Todd
RW oysters were the best. Great fried tomorrow we're great and the soft crabs were ok
Krystalynn Doria
Even my picky daughter enjoyed this place! The gumbo was so tasty! My son kept eating my gumbo instead of his own dinner 🤣 My husband said the gumbo was good but still average. There was definitely a wait but I'd say it's definitely worth it! Our waitress was also wonderful!
Trudi Broderick
Food was ok, but for a $30 plate I shouldn't get boxed potato salad with my Crab.
Fried oysters were amazing but the rest fell short.
Antonio Herod Sr.
They have really good food and I'm not a big seafood person at all. My sisters had the Seafood Trio and I had the Cajun Chicken (lol)
If u like to explore things then come here!
Trisha Simmons
Gigantic oysters! $15 during happy hour!
Trenae Williams
The food was really food didn't really have any drinks besides water. The oysters were amazing and the gator bites were cooked perfectly. Would've given 5 stars but as we were waiting for the check I saw a cockroach.
Brandy Valenzuela
Amazing food and friendly staff. We had the Taste of New Orleans.... Galliers Oysters for appetizers. They were the bombbbb.
TaDarius Hooper
Awesome experience! The food was really good and the service was impeccable. Everyone including the manager was so attentive amd caring; even on the way out the door. Definitely adding to my favorites for every NOLA trip.
Greg Bem
This place was great. The host was friendly. The server was personal. The drinks were *very* strong. The problem was the food: whether it was the lukewarm oysters or something else, I definitely got mild food poisoning from here. Tread lightly, folks.
T F
Stopped in last night for some Oysters. Had half raw and half charbroiled. The raw were fantastic. The gentleman that was shucking took his time and seemed to select the largest ones from the ice. Thank you! The charbroiled were good with a nice garlic flavor. Some were a bit dry as they cannot lay perfectly flat and most of the juices ran out but they were still tasty. I will be back.
Dustin Gebhardt
We were seated immediately for an early Friday dinner. We had oysters 3 ways, each of which were better than any other oyster places nearby. So good.
Bea Becerra
Fabulous. Of all the gumbo I enjoyed, during my visit, this was my favorite. In fact, we ordered pick up and I had my last luscious bowl in the Uber on the way to the airport! (Driver was 👍) …
Eric cogdell
My wife and I decided to stop somewhere mid-day and have some food and a drink before heading back to the hotel. After walking by this place a few times this week, we decided to try it out. Small but elegant. Our waitress, Kelly was so attentive and nice. She noticed that I had my Retired Army hat on and told me to make sure that I get my Military discount. That was unexpected and gracious of her. The food was exactly what I was wanting and the beer was cold and smooth. I definitely look forward to visiting this place again when I'm in town.
florence prickett
This place is a gem! The service was great. The food was great! They were out of some dishes, but it was still a great experience. We had a large party, so between us...we tried some of everything. I really enjoyed the gumbo and shrimp poboy. I tasted the snapper, and it was great (kinda salty, though). All in all, I would go back here. Go soon after opening if you want to have the full menu at your disposal.
Andrew Kunesh
Pretty good food, but overpriced and randomly cash only when I arrived despite having credit card signs on the window. I was only informed of this after ordering food and drinks. Dirty bathrooms.
Mina Subotic
The best oysters I've ever tried!!!!! Restaurant is in the heart of Canal street, good located with good and nice stuff. I recommend everyone with all of my heart!!!!
Links Awakening
Large oysters and the sampler platter was very delicious!! Very friendly staff, we will definitely be visiting again.
M johnson
Staff very nice and lively, but they were out of everything so we had to keep picking until it was something they had. I had fried shrimp and they were really good. My husband got gumbo and there was like 3 pieces of meat in it but lots of rice and gravy
Fuji Jasper
The food was good
Happy Hour specials were good at the right price
This is a must-visit while in New Orleans
The oysters were fresh and delicious
Rick Feineis
I had the Shrimp Po Boy and a friend had the oyster po boy. Both were very very good. There was a bad smell in the restaurant.
katie cluck
Service and food was great! Lily made our experience. If your in the mood for some good grub, come eat here!
Jelicia Metcalfe
Good food, great service! Can’t wait to come again!
Tara Godfrey
Our bartender CJ was the best!!! Food delivered quickly and delicious, specialty drinks were so delicious. What a happy and friendly place to be.
Brittany G
Best soft shell po boy and the oysters were cleanest I had in new Orleans
Tom Duffy
Can't say enough about this place, from when you walk in the door to when you leave you're treated like a regular. The quality of the food freshness tastes presentation all top of the line. When you get your tab you're amazed at how inexpensive quality food can be.
Emiliana Leyva
The soft shell crab po boy and the gumbo- MY GOD. Amazing food, super hospitable place. Visiting with seniors and children from El Paso.
Chris Thistlethwaite
The oysters were great, both the raw and chargrilled. Also got a soft shell crab poboy which was also top notch.
T C Wright
The Food was amazing. The seafood was fresh. I had oysters and red snapper.
Ch N
Great place!! Delicious oyster. We went during happy hour, a dozen raw oysters for $10. Amber was our server, and she was very friendly and informative of the area. Thank you Amber, you made our night.
Lalit Lall
Quick friendly service hurrican for drinks. Alligator bites very tasty. And excellent oyster Rockefeller
Jillian Wilks
Kenneth was the best waiter you could ever ask for. Food was good too but he made the experience worth while.
Robert Bischel
Some of the best and biggest oysters that I've ever had. My server was friendly and prompt as well.
Sa Ph
Ok, from Texas and by no means a gumbo expert, but this was the best gumbo I ever had. Oysters were fresh, top notch, clean, and never frozen. Drinks were cold and strong. Out server (pronounced Jelly, no idea how to spell it) was the SWEETEST most considerate server we've had here in NOLA so far!! Definitely will be back here before our trip is up!!
Ashley Greenwood
Came for lunch and had the seafood platter and it was delicious! The bartender Rohan was awesome and so was the food! Ms.Susan the host is always a pleasure.
Bill Flagg
First time eating here during Essence fest. Dinner was so good with perfectly cooked blackened redfish, red beans and rice, and string beans. The Cajun oysters was the cherry on top! It was so good that we went back for breakfast the next morning. I had the oyster benedict whivh was also excellent! Not a fancy place but a comfortable busy place with great food and service. We ate at the bar both times. Try it and you will like it!
Robert Belous
Don’t wait for Happy Hour - the Shrimp Poboy is one of the best in the city - get the Creole and Broiled Oysters with a side of horseradish. You’ll thank me later
mike magruder
Oysters were on point with flavor. Etouffee and Oyster PoBoy also very delicious. The garlic bread was delicious
LaToya B.
The food was yummy and my waitress was so wonderful. I can't have gluten so traveling and finding good food options can be hard. My friend selected this place for the oysters, which she loved, so i was happy to find a yummy option. My waitress, Jelly, had suggestions and honestly it was one of my favorite meals. I had blackened gator bites for the first time too. They were yummy.
Cawanda Bonner
Loved the oysters. The Rockefeller oysters were by far so delicious and my favorite.
Beatrice Mans
Jelly was our waitress she was the best customer service was out roof. Love her
K T.
Service was 3.7 stars we never received refills or asked if we needed anything. The food came out quickly and the hosts were friendly and food was 3.5 stars. It was okay not as great as I was expecting. It's worth a try. We had gumbo, jambalaya, seafood pasta, and a cheeseburger.
Samantha Glover
Great place. Service is out of this world. Susan was outside welcoming people inside. If she wasn’t there. We would had walked pass. Alex was our waitress and she was ready for all our questions. She suggested the Seafood Omelette and French Toast.
April Neall
Must get the Oysters Rockefeller!! Wish I ordered the full dozen. I might go back and get more before I fly home.
James Bordbar
All we ordered were their 3 grilled oysters and ended up ordering the Cajun style again. Damn good, big oysters.
Blue Limon
The creole oysters were amazing. The bartender was extremely friendly. I would highly recommend stopping in when in New Orleans.
Paul Chinen
Great oyster chargrilled
Cheryle Thompson
Best Bloody Mary ever and an awesome Cajun Hash! Poached eggs were slightly overcooked. Definitely recommend this place.
Celeste Machmuller
Food great, waitress a little slow on checking back so decided not to wait any longer for a dessert.
Patrick Hajovsky
Awesome place. Great oysters, great people. Couldn’t ask for anything better.
Sidney Novikoff
Great quality food, however we sat at the bar and the smell was terrible.. (totally expected a seafood smell, but this was really a lot)
Matthew Anderson
If your tired of the lines in the French quarters and want a good local restaurant. Look no further. Oysters were fat and the tuna steak sandwich was to die for. I was very pleased with the service and quality of food.
Robin Madron
Love love love this place and the staff: Mr C, C.J., Jeremy! Great food, best oysters on Bourbon St and possibly New Orleans!
William Powers
Great find. Small place but huge quantity. The charbrioled oysters are great. The fish entrees and amazing. Definitely go here!
Diego Miranda
Food is tasty and service is good. Beer is a little overpriced. Try the charbroiled oysters. Comparable if not better to what you get in a long wait in the French Quarter.
Coach Rose
Excellent food, good service, and a great way to start our trip to New Orleans!
Nadine Younger
Oysters and fantastic fried shrimp! Lightly breaded and deliciously crunchy! Very friendly place
M. Han
Although I’m a bit disappointed that they no longer have happy hour, the raw oysters were delicious and our server Kenneth was very friendly.
Joseph Buttita
Food, service, and drinks here are TOP NOTCH. Spending the holidays in New Orleans and heard great things about this place. Stopped in for supper and although they were crowded, it runs like a well oiled machine. CJ was our server and bartender and he was AMAZING. The Red Snapper is exquisite and the Margarita he made for us with REAL lemon juice was the best I've ever had. Give that man a RAISE!! Will definitely be back and will recommend it all around town! 😋😋😋😋 Favorite spot so far!!!
Vicki Mathis
My husband and I came here two days in a row it was so good! The first day we ordered Gallier’s Special which consisted of three dozens of each raw oysters, charbroiled, creole, and Rockefeller! Absolutely divine! The next day we ordered a dozen more raw oysters and shrimp and grits which were also fabulous! Our server Mona had the prettiest smile ever and was delightful to talk to. The owner of the restaurant spoke to us and made us feel very welcome! Whenever we visit NOLA this will always be a must come to spot! Thank you for a great experience and keep making them smile!
Krista Betteridge
Stopped in here after checking into our hotel. The oysters were delicious! It was a delightful beginning to our vacation.
Anna Chen (陳亞拿)
Brunch time with 15 dollar bottomless mimosas woohoo! Everything we got were great. The home fries / hash were perfectly seasoned.
Mark Warner
First meal in New Orleans and it was fantastic. Our waitress, Jelly, was very nice and took very good care of us. We were disappointed they were out of fried green tomatoes but everything else was delicious and the food came out reasonably quick. We started with hurricanes and some char-grilled oysters then moved on to blackened gator bites, gumbo with potato salad, and red beans and rice. The red beans were soooooo good. Definitely try them out if your in town.
Paul Ruszczyk
Roasted oysters were perfectly cooked, fresh and delicious. Grilled shrimp were perfectly cooked and spiced. Will visit again and definitely recommend.
SupaBlu87
Great food, drinks, and great bar service. Had a chance to try some things I’ve never tried. Would definitely go back next trip to NOLA.
Rebecca Hux
Food was delicious, service was great!!
Robert Serna
Great little place place and has amazing oyster and sea food but not cheaply priced
Karlag T
Mr. C and Cj....great service and we felt so comfortable and welcomed there! Best oysters as well!!!
Stephanie Karr
The oysters are fabulous. They were so good we were half way done before we thought of taking a picture. Fast efficient service. Great food. We will definitely go again
Queen Queen
Great experience for us visiting New Orleans! Friendly waiter and the food was delicious especially the bread pudding! Omg!
Lfavorite piano Young
Raw oysters were excellent. The greeter was so nice & took great care of us. Big serving sizes especially the salad topped w protein choice but the food was disappointing. We had the Galilee special oyster selection and it was just oysters w gobs of different versions of melted cheese on top . Cocktails were well prepared. Alligator bites were good but small.
We also order the trio platter to sample their gumbo, jambalaya & beans & rice. None of it was great. quality is bar food level. Server was very nice & worked her tail off all night. I’d go back for the service, raw oysters & cocktails.
Peter Henke
The food was amazing just like the time before..service was also very good. Jelly was a great waitress.
We had charboiled oysters
Shrimp and Grits
Gumbo
Everything was Delicious and well worth it.
It's a must spot.
Raelyn Cluck
Lily was a great server! We enjoyed our food and time with her
Deborah Solem
The best place I ate in New Orleans. Had the assorted chargrilled oysters. Best Oysters Rockefeller I have ever had!!!
Kassie Reynolds
Not worth the wait. Ordered grilled oysters and Rockefeller. Never got my Rockefeller and was told the kitchen is closed when I asked when they would be served!! Grilled oysters were inedible, full of crushed shell. Jambalaya was gross.
Trust, go somewhere else. Long line doesn't mean good food.
Smart Little
Server was very very awesome, food was busting trust me had there seafood paste and fried Oysters trust me you will love it here
Aletha DJZion Heggie
Some of the best food I ever had in my life and I travel to eat y’all. Was at this place February 2020 before the world ended. Memories of the Oysters got me through the pandemic.
Ursula Ajami
The whole experience was wonderful! The inside is very cozy, and I love the pictures that are inside. The food was amazing, I had the alligator and the jambalaya. Both tasted great, and many people I know said that the alligator would taste chewy but it tasted good. Our server Jelly said to get it fried and that it’s less chewy that way and she was right. The great service made the food taste even better then it was. Our server Jelly, was so nice and very helpful and informative. And all of her suggestions were really helpful, she suggested that I get the fried alligator which tasted amazing. If I ever come back to New Orleans, I will definitely come back here. And if I get to go back while I’m here, I hope I get Jelly again.
Brenda Faul
I cannot say enough on the quality of staff and the food. Did not expect this place to be this good. We sat at the bar and ate and it was a great experience. Pear/martini was great, not too sweet. Raw oysters were a great experience, Sam(?) the oyster shucker was super friendly with us. I had the red snapper and it was really awesome. Overall, a great restaurant experience. Kudos.
Rob B
Jelly was our server and she was awesome! Very friendly and upbeat. The food is delicious and was easily our favorite dining experience during our week long stay. My wife had the red snapper and I had the Cajun penne pasta. The portions were huge and the prices were great. Can’t wait to return!
Terje Dokland
Good food and friendly service in an informal atmosphere not far from the French Quarter. The oyster trio was more cheese than oyster, but it was tasty. The snapper was huge and very good. Two beers for the price of one during happy hour (4-6)!
Frances Smith
A good place to eat. A little unconventional but a delicious style all their own.
Cyril Cayman
Great experience ... We like their oysters ...
Amanda Fietz
Awesome little place. The Crab Cake Benny was amazing and $15 bottomless mimosas!!! Great staff too.
Jessye Ilexia
We went here this evening and our server, Jilly earned all five of these stars. She was the only server in an absolutely packed restaurant and she was an absolute pleasure, attentive to every customer and got every order right. She was very sweet and worked her butt off. Oysters were phenomenal, you could go just for those. The rest of the food was okay, but the oysters Rockefeller were incredible. Thank you Jilly for your hard work, you deserve a raise!
Melissa Butler
The person seating was hilarious. The salmon was delicious! The burger was great! It was a great dining experience.
Antonio Bohlen
They have THEE BEST OYSTERS IN NEW ORLEANS. And they serve a drink call Mississippi Punch. It is fye!!!
Shannon Lett
Charbroid oysters were exceptional. High recommend. Friendly and professional staff. Lovely restaurant with a full bar
Juan Colon
The charbroiled oysters here are the best in town. The oyster itself is juicy with loads of flavor. This is a small place that gets packed after 5:00 pm. The staff is friendly and the food is good. Happy hour goes from 4-6. On there, they have three different types of oysters for $5, best time to try them and figure out which one you like.
Todd Webb
I was in the mood for fresh fish and wandered around New Orleans looking for a nice restaurant that didn't appear overpriced. Gallier's looked just right. I had an excellent blackened redfish. I enjoyed it so much that I went back the next night for the "Tour of New Orleans"
Ana Garcia
I wish this place wasn't so far away from home! Absolutely delicious. All other restaurants had more than 30min waits. Not this one! Can't wait to go back.
Morgan Campbell
We came upon Gallier’s during our stay in NOLA because we were looking for a place to get raw oysters. Dress was casual. We walked in around 5:45pm on a Monday, place was crowded but we walked in and were seated right away. They only had one server but she was working really hard and still gave us great service with a smile! Service was quick. They had all of the local favorites in one spot. They had a good happy hour menu. We got the raw oysters which were delicious and huge, the ribeye steak was also delicious and the charbroiled oysters were also delicious. If you are looking for an oyster joint not in the main Bourbon street area Gallier’s is your place!
ashley young
Absolutely best oyster sampler. Creole sauce is banging.
Dustin Smith
Was recommended to eat at Daisy Dukes next door but this place looked too good to pass up. Staff is extremely friendly. Located away from the hustle and bustle of the French Quarter but excellent quality.
David Mannella
Great food and service. The Cajun shrimp were great
Brad Greeff
First time having oysters! These were delicious and more filling than I thought they'd be due to all the toppings and cheese. I got Rockefeller. I enjoyed the char grilled oysters at Acme a little more, but they weren't nearly as filling. Both places were great.
Shawn Jackson
The Hostess Anna at Gallier's treated me with importance. She was efficient! When I patronized Gallier's the restaurant seating was full and there was a long line of customers outside. Yet, Anna spoke with me as if I was the only person in the establishment. She did not rush through my order. Anna's efficiency maximized the time and ensured my order would be correct.
Jordan Maddox
Glad we chose to stop here for oysters! They were cheaper than the surrounding areas and the service was excellent! Happy Hour Specials are amazing. We took advantage of the buy one get one cocktails. They also offered a trio sampler of oysters (6 count) for 5 bucks. We ordered the chargrilled oysters and split the seafood sampler that came with fish, fried oysters, shrimp and two sides. The fish was so delicious, the shrimp was perfectly tender and fried oysters had the best balance of crunch and lemon. We’d definitely recommend this location to anyone looking for a great meal and friendly, attentive service!
D Willis
All four at our table were delighted with our meals - all were delicious. And the bread pudding was to die for. CJ, our waiter, was fantastic and provided excellent service. Highly recommend.
Samunique
Literally the best oysters in new orleans. The creole oysters are calling my name🤤
Wot G
We stopped by a few oyster bars during the trip and this is our favorite.
Collieace White
On two occasions the Oysters were on the salty side we know cheese already has salt in it why add so much seasoning on top. It was an over kill. Great drinks. Had to flag waiter more than 3 times.
Deb Keisler
Long day of sightseeing, went later in evening, had a bit of a wait and so worth it! Busy, cheerful, efficient staff, best supper we've had on our trip. Not fussy or formal but everything about this place is first rate.
Pierre Wube
The seafood pasta is excellent!
Brandon Quade
Hands down BEST, little place in New Orleans. Great staff and New Owner. Everything on the menu was great especially Oysters(all). Bar staff was very attentive especially PePe.
Marybeth Nix
Both the Cajun and Seafood pasta dishes were delicious. Red Snapper and grilled shrimp accompanied with the green beans were also very good
Brooke Bias
We had an amazing meal at Gallier's tonight. We arrived around 7 p.m. on a Saturday night and our party of 4 was seated within 10 minutes. Our server was CJ and he took incredible care of our every need even though the restaurant was full. We had multiple appetizers (blackened gator, fried oysters, and broiled oyster medley) followed by our delicious meals (blackened redfish, rock fish with cream sauce, and 2 burgers). We shared 2 desserts to conclude the meal (cheesecake and chocolate mousse cake). Service was excellent. Good was quick and delicious. This is a great place to enjoy a meal!
Bennie Smith (BenAroundTown)
Food was delicious. The wait was a little long but expected
Sabrina Gell
It was neat my hotel and i just walked in for some takeout. Hosts was really sweet and helped me out because the bar and servers were busy. The food was really good, and the service was nice.
Doug Moye
We had the Charbroiled oysters and shrimp, and the Blackened Redfish. Both were excellent! Even better, was the bartender. Anthony made the night great...Both with the drinks, and his personality.
scott valdez
Sat at bar. Great oyster selection. You can mix/ match a dozen. 3 each of raw, Rockefeller, Charbroiled, and Creole. The Rockefeller and Creole were delicious! As were the other two varieties. We weren't done so ordered the seafood platter. Fried shrimp, fried oysters, fish, and soft shell crab. Finished off the eve with a perfect Woodford reserve old fashioned and bread pudding. Hostess, bartender, oyster shuckers...all great. Can tell they love their jobs. Will definitely return.
Don Baker
It's sad when an Oyster Bar doesn't have oysters but it is understandable because of the hurricane. With that being said the shrimp po-boy was loaded with perfectly cooked shrimp with a good remoulade. I just wish that for almost $18 it came with fries (which were excellent for another $3. A pretty decent upscale dive bar.
John Grigsby
This place is a block from my hotel and decided to give it a try. What s surprise, everything ordered was delivered quickly to.the table. Many seafood items on the menu as well as burgers, salads, and steak. Shrimp.dinner was loaded with gulf shrimp about 15 good size pieces with a small salad and one side. The shrimp poboys are well worth it.as well. Full bar inside. Highly reccommended.
Rody Lacarte
Must try, the red snapper was cooked perfectly. The oysters are also a must try.
Sidd Shanmugam
Had the oysters and a couple apps on happy hour. The food was great and the prices were fair for the quality.
Kenneth Mace
2 for 1 beer special on monday. Fresh oysters were very good. Shrimp grilled platter and blackened redfish were both very good with gerous green beans and house salad. Bread pudding was a great end to the meal.
Josh K
Sometimes the universe guides you to places you didn't intend to go, but you are glad you ended up there. We had heard about about a fantastic oyster bar but the wait was long, and it was raining. We ended up at Gallier's, which was also very busy, but thankfully the hostess squeezed us in at the bar right away with a wink and a smile. Is that what it feels like to be a VIP? At the bar we were greeted by a stellar bartender named Rohan. He was busy, working hard, but treating us as if we were the only guests there. Another gentleman, who I believe is named Sam, found out it was our first time trying oysters, and he made sure we received the full, authentic experience. I also had the crab cake pasta which was possibly the best pasta I've ever had in my life. I don't often write many reviews, but I love this place, and can't wait to go back someday to enjoy the friendliest staff and the best food!
Julie Cobb
Fabulous food. Staff were super friendly and efficient.
Francis Washington
I usually don't eat a lot of fried foods but this was delicious. Even the green beans were great. Everyone was friendly. The guy shucking the oysters was very friendly and talked to everyone.
Jasmine McGhee
🤤🤤 The Cajun Pasta was very good and very flavorful 😍🥰 Our service was wonderful as well. …
Alyssa Carter
I went to Gallier’s twice during my weekend getaway to New Orleans. If I had bigger stomach I’d stuff more oysters. Had both raw and grilled ones. The oysters were of decent size and very fresh. With the sauces they tasted amazing. In fact compared with one of the famed oyster houses which ranked high in Google research, Gallier’s oysters were not only bigger but also tasted fresher. I can’t recommend Gallier’s enough. You will miss their oyster happy hour if you are a tourist.
Josh Houseman
The staff was incredibly friendly and attentive.
The buy 1 get 1 happy hour deal until 6pm is great and it helps offset the price of some of the more expensive drinks so you can eat more of the delicious food.
The charbroiled oysters were awesome.
If I ever make it back to NOLA I'll be sure to visit again.
Avery Chatham
My mom, sisters and i visited New Orleans this weekend and decided to stop here. The food was amazing along with the great hospitality of Gucci! He was so sweet, funny, attentive, fast and charming! The food was the best we’ve had (and we visited many places)! If you are still deciding on where to go, look no further 😌 …
Ishan Ganjoor
had a wicked time, tried the oysters, the blackened fish and the shrimp & grits. CJ our waiter was a vibe and the manager Rohan lovely too. Really enjoyed it!
Belinda Cicio
Family restaurant. Had husband, son & mom with me. We all had great food. Mom had the fried catfish, green beans and house salad. Massive portions on all 3. Husband had fried shrimp, fries and house salad. I had the chicken with a mushroom cream sauce that was to die for!!! We had Blackened Alligator for appetizer, which was good also.
Service was great and food came fast.
Diffently would recommed this restaurant.
andrew murray
Atmosphere was nice. Service was fast and friendly. Food taste was great.
Thomas Davis
Was excellent we came late at night and service was wonderful and the food was amazing. The shorter half has already said we are coming back in the morning for breakfast and she's the boss
Bill
I'm am not a sanctioned restaurant critic. I'm not some pencil neck 25 yo journalism major who hasn't been outside the US. I have however been to 35 countries and had an amazing variety of seafood all over the world. These were the best soft shell crab I've ever had....and it's not even close. The raw oysters had amazing texture and really good flavor. They were so big I think I should have cut most of them in half. The bar tender Rohan is both engaging and efficient. Enjoyed our dialog. They sacrifice ambiance of high end seafood places and concentrate on what matters....food quality and customer service.
Rodolfo Pena
Small place, but didn't feel crowded. We had great service and food was quick. Tried all 4 types of oysters and would highly recommend the Raw and the Creole.
Mina Haruna
Excellent service and food. Took the snapper with crayfish sauce. Yum
Kathleen Hunt
We went to Galliers last night for dinner and again tonight. Our first night we just had the shrimp and corn bisque with a nice salad. Tonight we had shrimp and corn bisque a salad shrimp remoulade and the fried shrimp platter. All were absolutely delicious! The staff is extremely friendly, and they are very attentive. The manager Jeremy, assists if the waitress gets busy, but he is also very friendly and very welcoming. Our waitress both evenings was Natalia and she was excellent.
Michael Schirtzinger
We got there right before happy hour ended and enjoyed two dozen oysters on the half shell. Good service and didn't have to wait long.
Jon Ettelson OC Realtor
Gator, oysters, blackened Ribeye... all delicious. Service was a little slow, but overall good! We were there close to closing time. Sat at 9:00, saw server at 9:20 to take our order. Got our drinks at 9:30. 30 minutes for a drink seems a little excessive. It got better after that.
Jeremiah Standford
We had an excellent experience there today. Our bartender Oren was knowledgeable and eager to help us with the menu! If I'm being honest as a former bartender and server myself there are times when it was annoying to have to educate people but he did it with a willingness and eagerness that was really a delight to see. I liked the raw oysters and watching them being opened was fun. My friend ordered their red beans and rice and she said it was good while my husband got their creole oysters. Excellent meal, excellent service, excellent bar staff, we will be back!
Jeffrey L
Great staff, excellent food, fun environment. They were so nice and fun. So happy we stopped in on my wife's birthday. 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 …
Brian Ward
A great & enjoyable experience. The crabcake appetizer was very good. We found the service/waitress to be very friendly and informative. Our meals were excellent. My wife had the blackened reddish, and I had the snapper. Also, the bartender makes a mean Bloody Mary. I highly recommend Gallier's.
David Chang Villacreses
It was so good we went twice while in NOLA. Get there at 4 and ask for the happy hour. Their cups are a great alternative to their Taste of Louisiana Platter. In fact, get the soft shelled crab and seafood platte too. Oh, and get their crab cakes too. I could go on.
Joseph Rowe
Awesome. A little out of the french quarter, but worth it. Awesome cajun food and oysters.
Tracy Langlinais
Really enjoyed the bloody Mary's. The blackened Redfish was amazing.
Kara Dennis
Oh wow. The best grilled fish with crawfish cream sauce. Even the green beans were delicious. And this was take out so I can't imagine how much better it could've been fresh from the kitchen.
After calling several seafood locations in New Orleans to find something that was open on our way into town late, this was the friendliest and fastest. They were kind and when we showed up early for our food, they rushed to get it done quickly.
Great food choices and it was delicious. Mouth is still watering.
Alfred Maynard
EVERYTHING was delicious; the alligator bites, the blackened redfish, and grilled shrimp platter. All top notch. It's places like this that earns New Orleans their reputation for outstanding food. Also, our waitress was wonderful--hard-working, attentive, and professional. This restaurant gives a 15% discount for active duty military members who show their ID.
Ronny Junkins
The service was great! The manager was very active on the floor and made everyone feel welcome. I had the Crab Cake Burger. The burger looked very lonely on the plate with no garnish at all. The bun was the star of the dish as the crab cake was a bit wet.
Vesna Mikic
I wanted to try and experience local cuisine so I ordered alligator poboy. I will not order that again. The alligator was ok but bread was old and overall it just wasn’t a good combination. Their cheeseburger however, was extremely juicy and full of flavour. Decor was somewhat depressing, but people working there were very friendly.
Eda Çavuşoğlu
It was a great experience. They recently reopened and operates frım afternoon till night. We had dinner the other night and their seafood was super (had crab cake poboy and my husband had Fish of the day which came out as whole Red Snapper). Taste incredible and they were cooked to perfection.
You feel having a great fine dining experience including very nice hosting and attentive service but at casual dining prices. We are definetely going back there.
Christine Villarreal
My Bachelorette group came here for oysters and were SO well taken care of by Jelly! Everything we ordered was delicious, the oysters SO fresh, and Jelly was so kind and attentive 🥰 highly recommend for a chill and tasty lunch …
Tif Miller
Went during happy hour and ordered everything lol. Staff was personable, food was tasty, and met the owner. I would give a 5 if grilled oysters were also on happy hour. Only raw... but they were big and tasty!
Susan Sanford
Delicious! So.many.oysters! I had dinner here at the bar on NYE and ate my weight in oysters. FYI, the charbroiled oysters come with Parmesan crusted on top. I did not know that there would be more to them than oysters when ordering the oyster salad. Both were delicious and either could have been its own, much-too-large meal. My oyster salad was encircled with creamy, cornmeal-coated oysters. There were a zillion of them on the plate. My god. So delicious.
Bartender was friendly, wine by the glass a good price, overall, really delicious and affordable.
James wells
The best Charboiled Oysters, Blackened Red Fish Red Snapper and Bread pudding. April the staff worker was wonderful. Highly recommended 👌 👍 👏 💯 …
N B
Very good gator bites and fried shrimp. Gumbo and jambalaya were ok. Lobsters just off of bourbon street. Cool environment. Waitress, Jelly, was great. Overall ok but would not go back.
Heather Goyne
This place has the best raw oysters and red snapper! Come during happy hour and save some cash... The service here is wondwrful. We loved it so much we ate here twice during our New Orleans weekend getaway!
P. London
A different Nola restaurant with some tasty selections. Relaxed atmosphere with a reasonably priced menu. Rohan; the bartender, was knowledgeable with the menus and quick with our margaritas and food order. Not having to yell over music was very enjoyable for a Monday evening. Will definitely visit again.
Erica Larsen
I don't know enough about restaurants in the city to say "these are the best oysters in all of New Orleans," but I do know if I were to visit New Orleans again but I was forced to just eat one meal at one restaurant the entire trip, I would pick the oysters at Gallier's and I would be completely happy and have no regrets.
Jillian Carden
Gailler’s is a delicious Cajun seafood place where you won’t be disappointed. Ask for Deanna because she is so personable and kind. Order something that has the Rockefeller sauce on it and the gumbo!
S Foster
Good food, Nice drink selection, and bartender seemed to be a good dude.
Some of my food wasn’t my favorite for what I paid. I also think the place could use a little top to bottom spring cleaning. Overall I enjoyed my visit.
Flaire C
Great experience. Jeremy and Jelly were great. Will be going back on my next New Orleans visit.
Carolina Fernandez
What a gem! We tried the alligator bites, cajun pasta and shrimp and grits, all 10/10!!! The side salad is a generous portion too. Server Rohan was so nice, kind and took good care of us! Definitely recommend this place to anyone.
Jose Medina
Pretty good food. Good prices. Service was OK.
Mike Trawitz
The best Oysters Rockefeller on the planet jambalaya and gumbo also amazing
CJ Zmarzlinski
Best Oysters in New Orleans!! Go to Felix's or Acme if you want overpriced, mediocre oysters, where your paying for the name. This place has got quality and delicious oysters!!! And the Red Snapper with crawfish sauce is to absolutely die for!!
J904
There are so many places to get outstanding food in New Orleans. Gallier’s is definitely one of them, and should be in the top rankings of any “Best of.....” list. So good - that I ate there twice in one day on a trip to NOLA! Seafood was incredibly fresh. Oysters and gumbo were great. Staff is friendly, service is excellent. Food was top notch.
JT “Hooker” Collett
Key thing to note here: The food is cooked with passion. The owner will willingly stand outside to get folks in this place.
Now, you will come in, and you will not leave hungry. The Crab Benny and the Seafood Omelette were some of the most fantastic creations we'd had on our visit.
The place is spacious and clean, and the staff exceptionally friendly. If I lived in New Orleans, it's a safe bet to say I'd be eating breakfast here regularly.
Spencer Marks
Incredible restaurant. The oysters are to die for!
Darryl Hubbard
Absolutely nothing wrong with this place! Excellent and timely service, great grilled oysters. Fried shrimp was picture perfect, and tasted even better then it looked. Wonderful atmosphere!
lizd812
If you want to try a variety of oysters (rockafeller, creole, chabroiled) this is the place to come (happy hour drink and oyster special the BEST)! I was trying the oyster sampler to see which style I liked the best and bartender was prepping oysters and gave me a free raw oyster to try against the others, so nice! Nicest ppl in the world! You need to come here. My husband got cup of gumbo for $5 during happy hour. Great place!
Brittany “Brit” Sanders
Wait staff was great and food was good.
Hayley Faught
Great place with really yummy food. First time having oysters and I loved them. Our waitress Jelly was so attentive and nice. Great place to visit if you’re in NOLA
Dario Furman
Ehh
We had the fish penne pasta and it was sub par. Not great but not horrible. There were several dozen fruit flies flying around our table and around our faces throughout our entire experience. That was very annoying.
Pat Burke
Only 1 block off Canal, easy to miss but certainly worth stopping in. We arrived early, about 5pm and enjoyed the B1G1 Happy Hour with delicious raw & charbroiled oyster appetzers and crab cakes. Eventually we ordered fried oyster dinners which arrived quickly. Their fries are served hot & crunchy, perfect for us.
stefanie simmons
Excellent food and friendly service. My husband wanted a steak and I am a seafood nut. Here we could have both and they were very tasty. We got there before 6pm and just in time for happy hour.
Yvette Santos
This place was nice... service was great. We didn't care for the charboiled oysters here nor the crawfish pasta. The salmon was dry, but the green beans were great.
Nat W.
Best grilled shrimp I've EVER had!
Janise L
The oysters Rockefeller was delish 😋 the blackened chicken was good great service! …
Kelly Green
The rib eye was excellent. The Gal pal drinks were absolutely delicious! The fries were fantastic. The swiss and mushroom burger could have used more mushrooms and swiss on it. Excellent service.
Roxana V.
Atmosphere was pleasant, the gentleman shucking the oysters was wonderful to speak with! However, the food left most to be desired. I was there during happy hour and had oysters and red beans and rice. The oysters were beautiful and cleaned perfectly but very warm; which is scary for raw oysters. The red beans and rice were cold and pretty bland. On the bright side I didn't pay a lot so it's hard to complain too much....
Art Gonzales
Was pretty disappointed by the recommended shrimp po' boy. There was plenty of shrimp but the taste was sub par, plus the bread was too chewy. The blackened alligator appetizer was the best thing I ate.
tiffany m mangum
Delicious!!!! The menu is exceptional! Oysters, Red snapper, yum!!
Lee Voided
Food was delicious and the staff was nice, friendly. I recommend the restaurant
Michael Zadnik
Amazing oysters and food. Cajun pasta dish was so good.
Krissy Castleman
everything was great, food, service, and our server Lily! :)
Liz
Great service and food
Denise Ward
Very comfortable and welcoming. Great, friendly service and food. Ate here three times in one trip. Can't say enough good things. Same quick, friendly service and great food if few customers or full house. Will be back next time in NOLA!
JNawlins
Come get the best oysters fresh out from Louisiana waters!!
Witch King
Excellent gumbo & chargrilled oysters. I would definitely eat here again the next time we are in NOLA.
Esteban Largaespada
It's a very cozy kind of place. It is, however, quite elegant still. The service is attentive and efficient without being in-your-face annoying.
The oysters are delicious. We tried all of them (raw, charbroiled, and Rockefeller) and I have to say they were all great; however, the raw oysters were so good we ordered another round.
Hope Bruce
Shrimps and crawfish pasta. Gumbo and jambalaya with salad.
Rebecca Crittenden
Absolutely amazing! The food is fantastic, with fresh seafood and a nice twist on traditional NOLA dishes.
We came here the first visit for fresh oysters which were perfect.
The food, service, and atmosphere were so wonderful that we came back, not just once more for dinner, but also for breakfast and bloody Mary's on the day we were flying out of NOLA!
Do not pass this place up!
Stanley Foss
Large and tasty plate of Rockefellers. Fish and shellfish are super fresh. Service is very prompt, attentive, and gracious. This spot is a great option when the lines at the big ones are too long.
Keith Dennis
Best happy hour! But it is 1-4pm
Mr Chatterbox
Drinks were great value and the food was good. I ordered a straight bourbon and I was poured what I would consider a double in most bars and it was cheap. I didn't give it a full 5 stars because the chargrilled oysters were not that good. I have had much better at other restaurants in the area.
Jada
The best snapperrrrrr and alligator bites 🙌🏽 Lawd so good
Holly Green
Bottomless mimosas, crab cake benedicts, and a cute server with a sexy accent. Best brunch ever!
Edward Bitenas
Hidden gem! Dinner was perfect...delicious and fresh. A customer recommended the salmon special but it was sold out. The 2nd choice, red snapper was excellent. The fried oysters were fried to perfection. Our server Kelly was very attentive. The manager, Jeremy, took the time to greet his customers! We returned for breakfast and were greeted by Jeremy and met Dawn working at the counter. We had eggs with andouille sausage...yummy. We returned later for happy hour, welcomed back by Susan, the lovely hostess and met Jarrod the bartender. Besides great food, the super friendly and attentive staff is a bonus. The atmosphere is relaxing but a block away from Bourbon St.!
The Real Rafael Mixon
Good food and prices aren't that bad, but come on, it's hard to find nasty food in the Big Easy.
Brianna Hunter
Excellent service! Waitress was amazing and every one kept asking us how our food was! Food was hot, and fresh and it was amazing. I had the seafood pasta and my husband had the oyster po boy. Very good!!
David Runde
The food was great and the service was even better.
Robert Augustin
Great place. Easy going. Had Oysters. Simply perfect (fresh, good quality, great price)
Jason Wallach
Nice, cozy restaurant right near our hotel. Went for breakfast, and the place did not disappoint. I had the Cajun breakfast for $8, which consisted of two eggs prepared how you want them (I requested over medium) and a choice between sausage, bacon, or ham. I chose the ham, and received a huge slice of ham. I also chose the grits (alternative was hashbrowns, which looked really good when my son ordered them) and biscuits (alternative was toast). My daughter and son both had the eggs Benedict, which was served on biscuits instead of an English muffin. Total was $32 before tip, and everything was delicious.
Avril Caldwell
Food was so good I didn’t get a picture until after. Had the blackened reddish and the Cajun pasta. Amber was our waitress and she was awesome; she was friendly, personable, and timely. Kind of can’t wait to come back, also I wish I’d saved room for dessert.
Anthony Parr
Awesome host and server!!! They were on fire!!! Everything was delicious!
Róbert Olasz
Awesome, delicious. Worth every cents.
Gretchen Schultz
Absolutely outstanding! These are oysters were so large we had to cut them! Perry, you are the best!
T “Xaero” R
Oysters were good and so was the soft shell crab.
The gumbo was a disappointment.
Skip the gumbo, the rest was good
Darlene Florence
One of the best fried oyster salads EVER. Make sure you ask for remoulade on the side for dipping oysters. Highly recommend. The bartender was friendly and has a great sense of humor. On our list to visit for now on, a real local joint.
Jaime Hawkins
The oyster and shrimp poboys were SO GOOD! This was just what we were looking for to get a taste of Cajun food while we were in NOLA! The staff was very friendly as well!
Haydar Celik
One of the reasons why I love New Orleans is charbroiled oysters. I have tried all famous places, but the oyster I had here was the best. Very fresh and tasty. Acme or Eds give you small mid quality oysters at best, as they don't need to be good. Tens of people wait to have whatever the location serves. But Gallier's oysters are pretty big and fresh. Definitely my go to place for oyster.
Stephanie Coleman
Great food and service!! Had the fried oysters and seafood penne pasta.
Drinks were definitely on the strong side... lol but it's NOLA so...
J Leroux
Find this place, raw oyster and drinks happy hour from 3-7pm $9 a dozen... Simple menu with excellent food. Went twice during my week long trip. Once for beer and raw oysters only, and once for the menu food. Great stuff, staff is super nice and friendly.
Jessica Birkholz
The Oyster Rockefellers were so good; however, the restaurant was so hot and in need of upgrades (ie. broken chairs, burnt out lights, etc). Service was decent, but we weren't allowed to split checks.
Sonya Walker
Kelly is the best waitress ever! I just can't say enough about how attentive, knowledgeable and fabulous she was to us! The oysters and oyster shooters are awesome, the atmosphere is friendly and welcoming and the food was fabulous! Great drinks! We will be back!
Nina W
I’m not sure why this place has such a high rating. If you’re coming solely for oysters then it’s not a bad spot. I tried the shrimp remoulade and the shrimp were very mushy. Aside from the mediocre food, the service on this night was awful! Our server did not put in one of my sisters’ orders and when she let him know he argued that she never ordered it. To make it better, after bringing the menu over and pointing to exactly what she wanted, he brought out the wrong thing. This was my first bad dining experience in New Orleans and I was very disappointed.
Yor Wolffe
Excellent service. Fresh oysters; we had several including Creole and Charbroiled; however, you can never go wrong with raw. Highly recommend the Gal Pal cocktail.
Mathew Terry
Aside from not being able to cook oysters that night because of the kitchen malfunction; their food was excellent and the services above and beyond! I will be back for those damn oysters...lol
James Underwood
Great place to eat off hectic Bourbon Street. Great happy hour menu. Haven't seen any other places with a dozen oysters for nine dollars. In addition, the food is high quality and prices are reasonable. Highly recommend stopping in.
joshua copelenko
The food is great! The staff is phenomenal we came back again because they make us feel like family go see Rohan at the bar excellent bartender!! Also the manger jeremy made us feel at home comes around and makes sure everything is up to par!! When we come back to New Orleans i hope to see you guys again!!
Wayne Moore
Sweet and very informed about the items on the menu.I ordered the Shrimp Po boy and Great food. that sandwich is huge.. with so many Shrimp. Delicious. I will be returning.
Chris Reeves
Some of the best food I have ever ate!!! The fried oysters are delicious.
D
This place was a very pleasant surprise. My wife and I stopped in for brunch and bottomless mimosas. The service, food, and facilities were all top of the line. Alvaro, our waiter, was full of personality and very enthusiastic about his work and the restaurant. We will be coming back every chance we get.
Scott Whiteside
Red snapper was excellent!
Ashton Childs
Fast service, great drinks, and our waiter was fantastic. The food was delicious without being heavy - despite us getting pasta, burgers, and fries. Hitting the rest of New Orleans afterwards was no problem. Highly recommend.
Timothy LeMasters
Great raw oysters and warm, friendly service. It is not easy to please an entire family of five with a tween and two teens, but they did. We were not as chic as other customers, but that did not affect our treatment. If your experience is consistent with ours, you will leave happy.
Eric Hahn
Service was friendly, food was good, and the bartender served up a nice IPA. I had the Cajun hash for lunch, and the portion was huge.. They gave me a sample of their gumbo, and it too, was delicious. I'll surely be back before I return home!
Arnita Jackson
Food and service was amazing!!! You must try the Oysters
Shay H
FAT oysters - great happy hour for those $9 for a dozen. However they tasted a day old and had the “oceany” taste to them that we had to mask with a ton of cocktail sauce.
Drinks were good and service was great during happy hour.
John Medina
My wife and I went here two years ago. First thing we wanted when we got to New Orleans was a Bloody Mary. They have the best I've had. Very very strong and they don't use that pre made mix. They make them from scratch right in front of you.👍🏻💯 …
Meme May
The oysters are great! I could have eaten them all night long. The gumbo was better than what I tried at gumbo fest. But best of all, the employees treated my boyfriend and I like family. That gave it an authentic New Orleans feel and I can’t wait to return!
Merlyn Dungey
The brief wait was worth it. Ordered fried shrimp and my wife ordered a shrimp poor boy. Both were delicious and large portions. Friendly atmosphere.

Definitely a "don't judge a book by its cover" type of place. The interior decorating left us unsure of the food quality. But we really enjoyed everything we had.

This palace treats everyone as family. No matter if you're a tourist or local they always give you a smile and have great food to back it! The manager all the way down to oyster shucker welcomed us as family!!!! Great food and great management.

Amazing food and service. Highly recommend. Best fried gator and oysters I’ve ever had in NOLA.

Great hole in the wall. Oysters were fresh and very plump and a $9 a dozen at happy hour they are an amazing value. This is not fine dining but a great value place for a quick dinner. Happy hour draft beer is only $3

Best seafood omelette ever!! Seriously, I'm an omelette and liquor conisseur. The shrimp and grits were really good. But their showstopper is DAWN!!! Her infectious positivity and love for her customers is amazing!!! Definitely returning soon!
