Drago's is a really nice seafood restaurant in Metarie, a close suburb of New Orleans. That it was popular could be seen from the fact there was no parking available in the parking lot next to the restaurant. I had to park a couple of blocks away. We had a plate of a dozen charbroiled oysters to start. It is cooked in a rich sauce and should work even for folks who don't like the taste of raw oysters. I think this is something the restaurant is known for and well worth having. This was followed with Golden Fried Catch of the Day (It was a white flaky fish although forgot the precise type) and we finished with the I-Scream Fireball. I'm including pictures of the menu which have more detailed descriptions. Overall the place was a decent size, open restaurant. Our waiter was a college student who was clearly still in training since he was being shadowed by a more experienced waiter. However he did a great job.

We were down for. Funeral and decided to stop by for lunch. We were not disappointed. The charbroiled oysters were so good. We ordered 2 dozen those went pretty fast so we ordered another dozen. We even bought the Drago's Garlic Butter sauce to take back home with us. We will be back .

The broiled oysters were amazing! I also had the Dr. Pepper gator tail dish, It was ok but I will definitely go back for the broiled oysters. Service was good. I got there not to long after opening so seating was no issue.

I can modestly say that I’ve travelled around 🌎 quite a bit , and tried different kinds of cuisines, especially anything seafood causes that’s my favorite! And I can honestly say with zero doubt that these were THE BEST oysters 🦪 I’ve ever had in my life thus far ! I am certain it will be a huge challenge to find better ones. But I will definitely be coming back to NOLA just to have more .

Been coming to Drago's for years and they seem to maintain consistency, regardless of location. I tried the alligator tacos, ahi tuna and got my usual charbroiled oysters. You can't miss with the charbroiled oysters!!! Just as good as my first experience with Drago's. The tacos were good. My only suggestion would be more cilantro in the pico and extra sauce (possibly an avocado based sauce suggestion) but I can specify next time I order them. Besides that, they were seasoned well, the flavors made sense and the gator was cooked to perfection. The ahi tuna wasn't bad either. I think I should try them again around dinner hours, they don't strike me as a lunch item lol. I will be back!

This place is good! This was my first time trying this place and I am really impressed. I would absolutely go back for thr oysters and the lemon drop for sure. The chargrilled oysters are bomb! My husband had the fried kicking chicken and he loved it too. When I'm back in the city sometime thus year I will go back. I would receive this place to others and go back.

This restaurant serves the original charbroiled/chargrilled oysters. They are fabulous. We have tried them at many restaurants around the city and these truly are the best. We had the twin petite filets and they were so tasty. The eggplant parmesean was a nice surprise, the tomato sauce is so light and just the right amount of flavor. Hands down their shrimp and grits were the best in town. We were very pleased with the service, and will certainly return. We here this restaurant is better than the one at the Hilton.

We arrived 55 people at 11:00 AM. The waiters, waitresses, and staff were all standing there to greet us. We were quickly greeted with smiles and menus. Drink orders were taken and we were asked if we wanted chargrilled oysters right away. Well of course we did. Needless to say, before we could decide on our entree our oysters arrived. Hot, and so so tasty. Then our soups, and salads arrived. The waiters were right there to take away the empty shells and refill our drink glasses. I must say, the service was the best! Not overly cared for, just right. Having a waitress and someone else to fill your glass or clear your table is genius. I have been to the Hilton location many times, but here was my first visit. I hope I can return to the original Drago's soon. Everything great!

Not the same as it was 3 years ago when 6 were served in a basket loaded with butter/garlick/parm with a fresh half loaf of bread. Half of the dozen were laying sideways with nothing in them and there was little to no parmigiana cheese on any of them. The 5 bread clumps definitely did not taste freshly made. Disappointing. The meatball was amazing but a little small for the price.

Dragos always comes through!!! The chargrilled oysters were phenomenal and grilled to perfection. We were a group of 10 and had to wait for all parties to arrive before getting sitting which makes sense because I wasn’t sure if we had 8 or 10 people dinning. The man that greeted us kindly explained. The food and service was excellent. The gentleman even came to the table to ensure we were happy with everything. My lemon drop was okay but I prefer it sweeter with a strong lemon taste but other than that we were all happy with our food and service. I haven’t have the Lobster Marco in years! It taste different but still yummy. Wish I had pictures of all the other appetizers. Oh well just try all of them.

Well the good ole internet gives information on stuff..duh I was amazed by service, staff, location and food. Simply amazing. Parking lot was full in mid-afternoon, high dollar cars in parking lot and folks from every ethics group was well represented. I had the charbroiled oysters and alligator tacod. Fantastic, if you go to New Orleans go to Drago's.

Love this place. I had their signature charbroiled oysters which melt in your mouth. Their Seafood gumbo is a must. And for the first time I tried their take on BBQ shrimp!! Which is in the picture. Delicious all around. Very friendly and welcoming service. If I make it in early traveling, I always try to stop at Drago's Metairie. You won't be disappointed.

Repeat customer when in town. Charbroiled oysters is a must. Best in NOLA and TX. I would recommend them slightly under-cooked/broiled. Lobster Marco is a good dinner entree. Always knowledgeable and friendly staff.

Good service, consistent food quality, all from a family owned restaurant chain. It IS expensive for local creole style shrimp or surf and turf. We paid $60 each for dinner. This is a good place to meet friends and family if you are uncertain of their likes and dislikes. There are ample choices, and the quality is consistent. The cheesecake is a must try! The atmosphere was unremarkable.

Parking is a nightmare! We probably spent 20minutes circling there 20 spots. There was no wait for a table so that was great. There are no booths only tables and the atmosphere is bland. It felt too open, bright, and not intimate at all. Not for dates but maybe for a family dinner. Our waiter had a problem going on so he left early which was ok until we got the bill before we even finished eating out dinner which only took us 30minutes. I had the lobster Marco and i do not recommend it. The lobster was bland. I got probably a pound of shrimp on top and a handful of noodles. We also order chargrilled oysters and they were huge and delicious. Although my favorite Drago's oysters are from the downtown location.

It was delicious. I cannot remember the name of it but it had the petit filet steak ontop of mashed potatoes with brown gravy, lobster tail, and I added 5 shrimp (which was like homemade shrimp that should not have costed $13 for).

Food here is slightly overpriced and just ok.. nothing to wow about. I ordered shrimp tacos to go..tacos were flavorful but shrimp were overcooked and tortillas were not as soft as they should be. My husband ordered the Fried Chicken which I didn't even take a pic of due to it's pathetic portion.

I’ve been to Drago’s a few times and I think the chargrilled oysters are definitely the highlight. The flavor is unexplainable! With that said, I do think the oysters are inconsistent at times. On my last visit, they were perfect! On other visits, they’ve had a lot of gritty substance in them that made them unbearable to chew. I don’t know…maybe it’s best to go during lunch when the restaurant isn’t as busy. I had a shrimp poboy on my last visit and it was yummy! The French fries are good too. The key is finding what Drago’s do well and sticking to those things. I’m not a fan of the crabmeat au gratin dip, collard greens or lobster mac and cheese. I’m sure I’ll return with hopes that the oysters are chewable.

This is a tale of two experiences. One experience is of amazing food, The second was a Point of Sale nightmare if you are party with more than 2 checks. Been to N'awlins many time, but this was my first time at Drago's. One of our friends that traveled with us from Jacksonville recommend the place. The decor was clean and well lit. We greeted and immediately sat which was a plus. The menu was a great mix of Cajun and Creole fair. This is when the first issue developed. Our waitress was courteous and attentive, but would disappear for periods of time. I ordered the Crawfish Etouffee. It was wonderful. Flavorful, with just the right amount of spice. Others in my party has the Fries Shrimp, the Crawfish Meatball, the Charbroiled Oysters, and the Crabmeat Au Gratin. Good reviews all around. Then the second issue. The check. The waitress told us it is the restaurants policy not to split the check beyond two. So do you have a party where the checks facilitate being split more than twice, be prepared. Because they put the onus on you as the customer to figure out the split as opposed to them as part of the convenience of going out with your family and friends. Four different parties at our table of six but she brings us one large check that we then have to sit down a lot our calculators and add tax on our own so that we can give them the amount. That is totally unacceptable. Again, I don't go out to do work I go out for the experience and for someone else to accommodate us. That's why it's called hospitality has an industry and this practice falls far short of that. Some of my table tried to do ascribe this to the POS system perhaps being antiquated. But, I have to spending 5 years in the POS space as part of my 30 years in the information technology space, I can assure you that she has a mobile wireless reader with NFC payments their system has the capability of splitting checks beyond two. Particularly in the Year of our Lord 2022. This was a conscious choice and it is inconvenient and possible an opportunity for overpayment. In Sum, great food, adequate service, horrible check out for larger parties.

We enjoyed our lunch here. We had a half dozen charbroiled oysters, seafood gumbo and alligator tacos. Everything was delicious especially oysters were amazing; I think they are the best we've had. I had alligator meat for the first time and it was much tenderer than I expected. Our server was really nice and attentive as well.

Decided to hit this location vs. The more touristy location. We got a seat right away despite the packed parking lot (which is very small). Where to begin! Everything was so good. Charbroiled oysters I’d what brought us there. They were to die for. Delish. Our favorite part was dipping he bread in the oily, garlicky goodness after. Fried oyster poboy. Delish. Gator bites also delish. Pasta dish was also super tasty. As of 7/18/2021 lots of construction and closed streets nearby.

Drago's never disappoints. The broiled oysters were perfect, so much so that I had the fried oyster poor boy, too. The oysters were fried perfectly, and I ate every one. I had the Creme Brulee for dessert, a perfect ending. I also could eat no supper! A note: Drago's was well-staffed by attentive and capable people. Perfect Christmas lunch with a good friend.

Everything was excellent! My friend ate the charbroiled oysters, and drank a very dirty martini. I enjoyed the all surf, no turf. The Mac n cheese was spectacular, as was the Mahi. I also enjoyed an old fashioned. Fantastic service, great atmosphere. I can't wait to go back!

We sat at the bar, and the bartenders were super fun. The menu was on point for southern food. They even gave it a little fancy twist to the presentation. Very tasty, and the amount of staff they had was perfect. you never really waited for a seat, and they were very attentive. the restaurant side look very first date or anniversary worthy of dinner.

Have been in the past and really enjoyed it. This last time was a big disappointment. The waiter was excellent, but the food not nearly as good as expected. Charbroiled oysters were very good, but the Mediterranean Crab salad listed as having “lumps” of crab meat was awful. It was basically a bad Caesar salad with what looked like shredded crab meat from a can. Not enjoyable. My wife had the Red fish which was the catch of the day and she found it dry and flavorless. Was a special dinner out with her father and so we didn’t make any complaints at the time to avoid ruining the evening even further. 3 stars only because oysters were 4/5, the rest of food was only 1/5 stars.

We visited here on a recent trip. Wait time was manageable. Server was attentive. My husband ordered the equivalent surf and turf. His lobster left much to be desired. My filet was luke warm at best. It was super tender and tasty though.

I don't ever go anywhere to order oysters, but these came highly recommended by a friend & the waitress (she bet her job that we would love them lol). Fantastic food! The charbroiled oysters may be the best thing I've ever eaten. I had the Boudin stuffed shrimp (delicious), others had the Tomahawk Steak. Bread pudding, creme brulee and the fudge ice cream brownie were also outstanding. A party of 8 and everyone enjoyed their meal. The service was excellent.

Detail Review: I and my wife went there for dinner today. We ordered 12 Charbroiled Oysters, 6 Fresh Oysters, and Seafood Pasta. All of them are very good, especially the Charbroiled Oyster. I also ordered a "Spring Break", which is a mix of Drum and Pineapple Orange Juice, it tastes really good. I highly recommend you to try this restaurant out when you visit New Orleans. Trust me, I am an engineer! :)

Had the famous Grilled Oysters, best ever. Had seafood pasta with extra crabmeat, another great choice. Parking lot was filled, but inside there was immediate seating so on a busy night you will be parking on street, not an issue. Will be back.

By word of mouth I was told the charboiled oysters are the best. I didnt think so. Earlier this week I had some from another restaurant I liked those better. The best charbroiled oysters In metarie and possibly Louisiana!! If it you’re wondering why it’s so expensive, it’s because they are literally serving you heaven and perfection on a plate. Seriously don’t second guess just try it for your send and see why Drago’s has a line out the freaking door almost every night doesn’t matter if it’s lunch or dinner. OMG, Dragos Restaurant was absolutely amazing! I ordered special of the day, trout with rosemary baked potatoes and swiss chard, absolutely delicious. The service was excellent. Our waiter Nicholas was really knowledgeable about the the entrees we inquired about, which made our decision what to order easy. If I lived closer, I would be there every weekend. We had a pleasure of meeting the owner Mrs. Claire. She approached our tab l.j e to ask how everything was, we told her everything was great! Thru conversation we found out she is also Croatian. Honestly this place is just meh. Came here twice, had different appetizers and main course both times. All were average, the charbroiled oysters are definitely not the best in new orleans. Tasted a bit bland and had way too much breads crumbs on top (or whatever it is they put on em). Service is ok, food took a while to come out second time. Interior is boring and dark. Not sure why it s always packed.

Absolutely love this place. Charbroil oysters and grilled red fish with the seafood is amazing. Get the extra crab meat to top your potatoes and sautéed spinach plus the seafood sauce.

When in Metairie, Louisiana there are quite a few places you can choose from when dining out. One of our favorites (Chef Ron's Gumbo Stop) is located there as well as some others such as Bobby Hebert's Cajun Cannon and Acme Oyster House. When you speak with people about Iconic New Orleans' dishes you hear many responses, but one had really caught our attention that was a bit different than most. "You absolutely must try the charbroiled oysters at Drago's" is something we heard from multiple people. We were off to try the oysters, and we soon found out that Drago's is so much more than just oysters. Drago's in Metairie is a very busy but also efficient restaurant located just off the main drag of North Causeway Boulevard. There is an additional parking lot located in the rear (that we didn't know about at all until our 4th trip or so) which is a good thing because the front two lots are consistently filled, even through the whole Covid situation. With that said though, they removed over half their seating and are quite competent at working with the social distancing guidelines in place for the state of Louisiana. First thing that set off the positive vibes of Drago's for us was when ordering an old fashioned our server asked if Buffalo Trace was acceptable. Not only is it acceptable sir, but it is preferred! This was a huge bonus for Chuck who has really fallen in love with Buffalo Trace as a fairly inexpensive but high quality bourbon. After the build-up and all of the anticipation, we naturally started with ordering a half dozen of the charbroiled oysters. We almost immediately then ordered another half dozen of the oysters. Wow. The flavor from these is something you wish all meals would have. Lots of buttery flavor with oregano and grated cheeses and just the smokiness that it takes on from having them on the open flame grill...just wow. We could have sat there and ate these all day long! Soon after while visiting a friend of ours in Orlando, Chuck took a shot at re-creating these...but that's a story for a totally different time. For our entrees Chuck decided to go with the "Grillades and Grits", Chas went with "Lobster Marco" and Val chose the "Drago's Mixed Grill". The Grillades dish was unlike anything we've ever tried, and we mean that in a good way. This veal was so incredibly tender it seemed as though it must have been cooking all day long. The mix of that with some of the harder cooked grits and the gravy it's served in was really a nice treat, and a bit of an unexpected dish. The Lobster Marco was seriously breathtaking. This dish came out and made everyone instantly regret ordering what they got and not ordering this one. A huge Maine Lobster stuffed with angel hair pasta in a cream sauce with mushrooms and shrimp. Not only did it photo incredibly well, but it was delicious. It was genuinely two dishes in one. You have your shrimp and mushroom pasta and then you have an entire lobster with drawn butter. The Mixed Grill offered a petite filet that was cooked exactly to the right temperature, half a Maine Lobster, and some Cajun shrimp that were delightful. Add in this "Corn maque choux" that they create here and it was a really nice dish all the way around. We ate some other meals on other trips here that can also be seen in our gallery such as the "Shrimp n Grits with Tasso", "Boudin Stuffed Shrimp" and the "Shrimp and Corn Bisque". There is zero percent doubt that we will be re-visiting this establishment next time in the New Orleans/Metairie area of Louisiana. Their attention to detail, quality service, open view to the grills where the oysters were being prepared, THE OYSTERS, and the many high quality entrees we had made quite a lasting impression on us that makes us say without a doubt that Drago's is one of the best restaurants in all of the New Orleans area. This one goes without saying Drago's in Metairie - Didn't Suck!

I have to agree with some of the recent posts. Though our party of 7 had a nice time last night, the food was noticeably lacking. The oysters were great and the seafood pasta was delicious, but the lobster was nothing special and 2 of the 3 steaks were really not good at all. My $44 ribeye was way overcooked, as was my daughter's filet, and tough with about a tablespoon of sautéed spinach for the side. The crawfish trio was rough. We absolutely loved our waiter, Martin, but everyone was pretty ho-hum about their meals afterward. Kinda sad for a birthday celebration for my daughter.

A group of 5 of us went to dinner after a long workday last Wed. The restaurant looks upscale so we thought we'd be treating ourselves. The food was very yummy. We all had different entrées. The consensus was that the oysters here were better than the yummy ones we had a different restaurant the day before. Everyone's food was tasted fresh, were decent portions and were very enjoyable. The service, however, left much to be desired. Mira was our server. When someone in our party was trying to catch her eye to ask a question, she roughly told her "I'll be right there". When someone else pointed at something on the menu because she couldn't pronounce it, Mira rolled her eyes because she had to walk around and again rudely asked, "is that what you want?" When empty plates were taking up space on our table, she picked 1 plate up but left 2 others (when she had nothing else in her hands). When 3 of the 5 of us had no water in our glasses, we again had to try to catch her eye to ask for more. Though our glasses were refilled, the 3 of us agreed it was NOT water. At best, it was discarded Sprite but it very well could have been something else. When I mentioned this to Mira, she offered no apologies or attempt to correct it; all I got was a simple "ok". We completely understand servers are overworked and often have to deal with rude customers. I can assure you, we were courteous and pleasant customers. However, based on this experience, I would be cautious if Mira was our server again. Unfortunately we did not feel she represented the restaurant well and didn't seem to be interested in providing us a positive dining experience, despite how nice the restaurant is or how delicious the food was.

Without any doubt this restaurant is the best for Oysters, better yet Charbroiled Oysters. I recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting New Orleans. It was our first time there and we don’t regret it. Prices can be a lil high but food is great. Crab dip and pop boys was our other option after the Charbroiled Oysters. If you go to New Orleans you have to try this place. Waiter was awesome young man.

We had not been to Drago's for awhile, although we have been going so long I remember the side of the menu with the Yugoslavian cuisine. We arrived at 5:30, and because of the employee shortage, we waited for a few minutes until we could be properly served. Our server, Mohamed, greeted us with a pleasant smile, and offered us water to begin. We ordered drinks and two dozen chargrilled oysters. For me, these oysters are the best bite of food on the planet. The meal was well-paced, food always hot from the oven or grill. The water glasses stayed full. I and my son had the Lobster Marco, a nice 1-1.5# Maine lobster filled with angel hair, shrimp, mushrooms, and wonderful spices. It was served with drawn butter. My wife had the seafood pasta, with plenty for leftovers! Son's friend had half oyster half shrimp with onion rings and fries. Desserts were to be apple cobbler and bread pudding, and for us, creme brulee. The server told us that he had put the last piece of it on the side for us, but by the time he got back to the kitchen it was gone. Although we opted out of some other desserts, he ended up bringing us complimentary apple cobbler with ice cream. A word about three components of best dining experiences: 1) great, well-balanced taste; 2) presentation; 3) service. You can have the best food on the planet, but if your server is surly, the meal can be ruined. I told Mohamed after the meal, that his service was as good as any I have had in many years, and what a pleasure he made the evening. He was courteous, professional, and efficient, and there can be a fine line between efficiency and pretentiousness. His thoughtfulness in making sure we were not disappointed in losing the last creme brûlée made the meal extra-special. When you get particularly good service, let them know both in dollars and words. Drago's in Metairie is still special.

The food was pretty good, our waiter was excellent though. Steve kept our drinks full, was very attentive (but not overly so), and made sure everything was cooked right. The parking lot looked full but when we went inside, we were pleased to see that tables were appropriately distanced and all staff members were wearing their masks correctly. We went here twice while we were visiting NOLA. It was that good! The charbroiled oysters were great! Definitely my favorite CharBroiled Oysters now. I’ve eaten at Felix’s, Chimes, Acme, etc... those are good, but I would pick these hands down. We had a large group (Company Event) of around 20, and the wait staff was excellent at keeping the food coming and drinks topped off. Never had to ask twice, and were well taken care of. Don’t remember the name of the meal I ordered (1/2 Lobster, Filet, Shrimp, and Crab), however it was outstanding. Also had the Gator Bites as an appetizer, and they were tasty as well. All in all, a great place to visit and eat at. Price is higher than some (Acme), however I think the quality of food is better by far. My only negative feedback would be that it was a bit loud. We did have a group, however the sound really reverberated to the point you had to keep talking louder and louder.

I rarely give 5 stars unless food and service match each other. Charbroiled oysters are what they’re known for, and didn’t disappoint. However the Lobster Marco is worth every penny. I read a review and it said everyone regretted their choice when they tried it, so I had to see for myself and wow…amazing.

Drago’s does not do reservations, so it was pretty packed at the time that I went. I would recommend getting there early to reserve a spot. The food was really good (especially the oysters) and the wait time was not too bad. Our waiter was extremely caring and attentive and took care of our needs. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone who loves seafood.

01/27/17: 4.5 out 5 - Coming from Portland, Oregon with close friends. Six of us total to be exact, and we're all "Foodies" here to New Orleans for the food scene and the culture. Drago's Seafood Restaurant definitely was a good place to be with close friends. The restaurant was busy, but we were able to seat quickly. The food was amazingly tasty and we devoured it quickly. The restaurant was clean and roomy, which is good. The owners gave it some thought you their patrons. No one wants to be cramped and trying to eat with friends. It can be a little loud, but that is dependent on the people at that moment. I will also add this though, our server, Errol, was a good-hearted people person. His personality, experience, and humor really added to our experience of enjoying Drago's. Definitely a restaurant worth trying once and deciding for yourself. Enjoy!

Omg, this was by far the best seafood restaurant I’ve been in a long time. Everything was delicious. I had the gumbo, seafood Alfredo, crab dip, and oysters. Service from the staff was amazing and so friendly! Dishes came out quickly and were great - I could eat those oysters forever. The filet is seasoned well and tasted great, lobster didn't stand out much. The lobster claw lollipop appetizer has a spicy, sweet kick to it. The jambalaya pasta has nicely seasoned sausages, chicken and shrimp (if you add shrimp), but the pasta by itself was a bit bland.

So many people recommend the charbroiled oysters so this is the first stop after landing. Asking the waitor if I should just get six and if I should try anything else on the menu. He said just go for the dozen, it's the best we got on the menu. Nice smokey flavor from the grill, good size oysters, and soft French bread so soak it up. Great way to start my food trip.

When they say it's "the single best bite of food in town," it's pretty accurate. I've had the crawfish etouffee, and the boudin stuffed shrimp. All were delicious. The shrimp aren't necessarily "stuffed," but layed on top of the boudin. Yet still very delicious. Cool atmosphere. And the oysters are seriously, very good. I'm a raw oyster guy... but these are fantastic. Wait for them to cool a little. Pro tip.

Drago's is fantastic. I'm sure everything on their menu is great. Unfortunately I'll never know because the char-grilled oysters are so amazing that I'm unable to try anything else on their menu. I live out of town so I'm not able to go enough to be adventurous. Some people like ACME's oysters better, some people like City Cafe's oysters better but Drago's is clearly in the discussion for best char-grilled oysters. Bring your appetite.

I can't say this place is as good as it was in it's original space. The new updated restaurant is beautiful and a pleasant place to visit and eat. Service is fantastic and the food is quite good. The alligator tacos were excellent. I just don't think they will ever match what they had when the oysters were charbroiled outside over open fires. I guess those days are gone. But definitely a great restaurant to visit... The Metairie location that is. Can't say the same about the Harrah's location.

Absolutely Amazing! It has been about 5 years since the last time I've dined here, and I swear, they still hold the title of best charbroiled oysters in town. I took my fiance here for the first time after he claimed a competitor had the best oysters. After bringing him here he is now a believer! We came on a Saturday evening and there was limited parking. Also construction is being done so I'm uncertain if there is a handicap ramp at the entrance. It was crowded inside. We were seated immediately, and our waitress greeted us soon after. She was friendly and kept our glasses full through the course of our visit. The atmosphere is family friendly (loud but no TVs) and a great place to host bday dinners or get togethers. They do not accept reservations for large parties (up to 12 people), and everyone must be present before they seat you. We stuck to the small plates menu. I guess I should mention we each had our own dozen of charbroiled oysters to start...enough said! I had the barbecue shrimp and my fiance had the alligator tacos. Both were delicious! We will definitely be back soon.

We came here because a website online called this the Creator of charbroiled oysters. It was really the best oysters I've ever had. It was soaked in butter and garlic which you could use the bread to dip in for garlic bread. It was delicious. The Louisiana style oysters were good too it tasted like a spinach and artichoke dip with a fried oyster. The raw oysters were large but lacked flavor.

💃🏾💃🏾💃🏾***people look at here look at here**** Renovation is currently taking place, the parking is terrible, you're gonna ride around for about 5 minutes, looking for parking, so you're gonna have to park across the street,l, the food is ok, the atmosphere is ok, it's just a lot of people in an area with tables close together, but you are able to view the cooks in the back, cooking your food, and that's pretty cool. I had the roasted oysters, which were delicious 5 stars, then I had the Drego's seafood mix, which was ok, the meat was a mystery meat that they would not tell you what it was, but I ended up getting the steak and it was not highly seasoned. It just taste like meat. The customer service is A +, when we came in, we were seated immediately and we had our waitress standing by, we received our food quickly.

Stellar chargrilled oysters (are an absolute must if you visit). Also enjoyed the BBQ shrimp poboy for lunch, though all the options looked great. Service is about what you'd expect during lunchtime, nothing over the top. All in all a great seafood place that's anything from casual to business casual. Poboys run in the $15 range with fries, which is fair for a restaurant!

My brother recommended Drago's to us when we were in New Orleans last week. Parking was a bit tight but we managed to find a place - it was the busiest time of the evening after all. The staff was courteous and nice. The menu was interesting: containing all of the standard seafood fare as well as po boy sandwiches and a hamburger for those that are dragged to seafood places and don't want seafood I guess. I ordered the shrimp, my wife got the shrimp and grits while my brother had grilled oysters. My shrimp were superb, nicely cooked and served with sweet potato fries (an option from the standard fare.) My wife loved her dish while my brother said the oysters had bits of shell and a lot of sand in them. The floor manager made it right quickly and my brother ordered another dish; paying only for the oysters he actually ate. All and all it was a nice experience. We stayed talking for several hours and probably irritated the staff who was cleaning up the area and waiting for us to go. But not a word was said. All and all a great dining experience.

Great charbroiled oysters! Period. We like this location a lot better than the one near the French quarter. The service was great with Anthony and the wait was not very long since we came around 2pm. I haven't been here in years, but the service was excellent. Our waitress Tena was really on top of things. The food is expensive, which I knew going in, but expect to pay about $30-40 a person. If the portions were a bit bigger I wouldn't even feel that bad about the price, but they're rather small for what you're paying. Still the food was very good in terms of taste and texture. Overall a very good experience for a party of 4.

You can argue about who came up with the charbroiled oyster, but not about who does it best. Fresh, delicious seafood in an upscale environment with impeccable service. The oysters aren't the only thing they do well, try any of their fish dishes & you'll be amazed. Parking is an issue, be careful getting in & out and don't park outside their lots or you'll get towed. The bar is good & it's also a wonderful venue for parties and events!

Drago's is a casual medium priced restaurant with a decent menu .The place gets really packed on the weekends after 5pm with limited and very tight parking spaces.They have a cafeteria style eating floor plan .Over all the oyster are delicious and my crab salad was authentic the customer service was commendable I recommend this location.

The only reason that this is not a five star rating is that the meal was not served as advertised. I ordered Boudin Stuffed Shrimp. I was served Shrimp over a bed of Boudin. Sure, all the flavors were there but I had to combine them on the fork. The waitress said they quit serving it stuffed because it was easier to eat this way. Really? 5 stars for food: I had 1/2 dozen charbroiled oysters and 1/2 dozen raw oysters. Charbroiled oysters were excellent, great butter sauce, lightly seasoned (other places put too much stuff on the oysters). The raw oysters were, of course very fresh. I also had corn-and-shrimp bisque. Perfect food. 4 stars for service: They did not time serving the items, so they all came out sort-of at once. That said, when I'm in the area again, I'll return.

Never disappoints. As soon as I landed, luggage in hand, I took a lyft to the restaurant. The oysters were amazing. I had a side salad and a chargrilled dozen oysters. Walking through the door the staff greeted me, took my bag and showed me to my table. My waitress kept checking on me, along with other staff. The charbroiler made sure I was happy with my oysters! I was beyond satisfied. I got great NOLA customer service even though they were in the middle of a horrible storm. I can't recommend this restaurant enough. Great service and amazing food.

Here you get the classic amazing charbroiled oysters. They were very good, not as charred as they are at the other NO location, but still good. We also had the crab dip, it was nothing to write home about, pretty bland I would not recommend. The atmosphere feels more like a lunch room as it is a very open space with tables and a few small flat screens placed on each wall. Lovely staff, very efficient and kind.

The oysters come in piping hot still spitting with the hot garlic flavored butter and oyster juices so you have to wait a bit for the cool down. So I must say this was absolutely amazing. I tried the charred oysters per the recommendation of the natives as. An appetizer and was pleasantly surprised. I've had raw oysters in the past and just couldn't gut the taste or texture but I will only eat them this way. The flavour was absolutely devine and the texture is similar to muscles. For my main course I had the lobster Marco and that was something I was use to eating and equally as amazing as my app. All in all I give this place a🙌 . So very geatful

He put all of our drinks on one tab because he didn't feel like separating the tab as if he was ready to get us away from the bar to accommodate other patrons. This was my first trip to this Drago's but we had been to the Drago's - Hilton Riverside a few times. The charbroiled oysters keep me coming back... absolutely outstanding! We had lunch I'm this trip and the food was exceptional...maybe only surpassed by the service. We shared the oysters and fried gator bites with both having the Crabmeat Mediterranean Salad as an entree. Everything was delicious...as expected. Since this location isn't too far from MSY we will be stopping in whenever we fly into town.

Visited with family, wait staff very friendly and accommodating despite our late arrival. Mom had the shrimp and grits, which was one of the best we've had. I ALWAYS make a detour to Drago's for oysters on my trip between TN and TX. Today I got there right as lunch was starting. My charbroiled oysters came as quickly as they usually do. I didn't enjoy them as much as I usually do and I think it's because perhaps they had fixed some ahead and it had set for a minute. The first time in 20 years that I was in 100% happy when I left. I should have spoken to someone on site I will next time.

I love Drago's, but last night I was disappointed. I came a little early to get a table and was told that I had to wait for my entire party to show up. I respect that however as a sat and waited. I noticed people coming in without the entire party and being seated. I knew this because as they walked in they said "i wonder if they are going to seat us". I watched as they said they had 4 in their party and that the others were parking their car. That was never verified and they were seated. I also noted one individual come in and walk to her table where the others had been seated. I say all of this because you should be consistent with everyone. I felt as if I was treated differently because I am Black. We ended up spending a considerable amount of money and I love the food. However, I came to the conclusion if I lie I'm treated better than if I tell the truth. 🤔

Of course we ordered the charbroiled oysters, and then tried the stuffed charbroiled lobster. OMG that was absolutely delicious. The waiter CJ was great! It was his birthday so we paid for him to have a celebration drink after his shift.

Always a pleasure to go to Drago’s in Metairie. I cannot comment on the food other than the grilled oysters and the lobster: they are the reason why I come every year from Houston. I am always looking forward to eating there. The place is busy but the service is on time and the food is always impeccable. Looking forward to our next visit.

Last night, my wife and I topped off our fabulous stay in New Orleans with a spectacular meal at the Dragos Metairie. The food and service was incredible. My previous visit to the Metairie store was in the spring of 2005, pre-Katrina, of course. I was there with a dear friend and colleague who passed away last year. For that reason, this meal was a very emotional occasion. Thank you for making it a special night.

Bad service, decent food. For the prices, it should be excellent for both. Not impressed. They would not seat us until entire party arrived. Not much foyer space, so everyone stuffed together in small area at bar (during new indoor mask mandate). The server was rude (she had attitude). Asked for butter for bread, was told to use the melted butter oysters were in (1 person in party allergic to shellfish). Serving sizes were extremely small for the price. No sweet tea in the south, Wth? Get to end of meal and the server got huffy about not having enough credit card machines and needed to move to next party checking out (so hurry up-person paying was in the ladies room). Not a pleasant experience for 1st time dining there. Would not recommend and won't return.

Yo I've heard great things about this place.. I can't lie they were okay not extremely super good as I expected them to be. The flavor was okay not just busting with flavor. I don't know what I missed but I'ma try some somewhere else and see how that goes.

The oysters are of course so yummy, but the gumbo and their shrimp and grits are some of the best around and gotta finish it with their must have bread pudding. Absolutely recommend to at least try one other thing besides the char grilled oyster, don't get me wrong you have to get the oysters LOL but they have so many other treats that are also delicious. :)

The cargrilled oysters were not that good. I've had a lot better from other restaurants in the area. I had a hamburger and it was not good. The fries were good and the service was really good.

First time here. It was awesome. Not cheap, but not super pricey either. Very good value, for high end food. We had char broiled oysters (of course), I loved the shrimp and grits, with tasso. But everyone at our table, each had something different. All good reviews. Very friendly and efficient wait staff. Good ambience. Could become my favorite restaurant!

Ordered 2 dozen chargrilled oysters and they were absolutely delicious! The service was also pretty good for these COVID times. They didn’t seem to be short staffed. Our waitress was diligent and the manager (I assume) even went around checking on the tables. Would definitely go again!

The food ordered was delicious! We ordered the spinach dip as an appetizer and catfish/shrimp platters with dessert being, bread pudding. The whiskey sauce used over the bread pudding was oh soooo good!!! The catfish/shrimp combo was a little small but fried just right’. Our service was on point and there was ample parking. I will return when I come back home ♥️

Went to Drago's for a family Christmas party in the private room- great food, friendly staff, and a nicely sized space. Definitely recommend the grilled oysters and a glass of the house red (a nice Merlot) for anyone looking for something tasty and fresh!

Holy Cow! This place was amazing. The Ahi Tuna App was awesome but you have to try the charbroiled oysters! Best I have ever had! I am from Indiana but I would drive here again just to eat here! This place is freaking a must eat!

Seated right away. Food and drinks were fabulous. Server needs some training. Slow from the start, had to wave her down several times while she very attentively attended to certain tables and ignored us. Never came back after the food was delivered and we again had to flag her down for a bill. Will be returning for the food, hoping for better service from a different server.

SeverL of the Char-Grilled oysters were burnt. Also took a while for our food to come. Very skimpy plate of food for the price, I had the fried oysters and shrimp combo. I was highly disappointed. The bright spot was our server had great customer service skills.
