Reviews of Chemin à la Mer
Harmonese Pleasant
New restaurant along w| the newly built Four Seasons!! I love it. Great drinks, view, ambiance. I love eating outside to get a view of the river. Inside is super cutesy and chill. Perfect for a nice lunch, dinner, or a sexy date night. Great service as well!

Chemin à la Mer’s cuisine and staff, interactive historical exhibit, observation deck, which also has an interactive component where points of interest are displayed and explained, even the helpful and friendly staff were all amazingly impressive. I strongly encourage locals as well as tourists to visit.

Best steak, salmon and drinks, we had a good time here. Randall was the best serve in the house, he is kind, and also knew the menu so well.

Incredible experience all is perfect compare to the rest of the majority of the restaurants in USA ! There is a real service for which finally you want to give Tip which was not the case from we arrived in US. All is made to give you a perfect meal journey including a nice package for the kids with kids chair and incredible kids menu. The prices are reasonable and all is perfect !

Everything was awesome! There was almost no wait for our reservation. Our waitress was attentive, well informed and charming. The steak tartare, west indies salad and creme brulee were absolutely OUTSTANDING!! Great wine selection and cocktails. Would definitely recommend to even the most decerning of diners. Perfect last meal of our vacation, we will certainly return!

Service was outstanding from the moment we arrived. The restaurant was running behind on our reservation. Just a simple acknowledgement would have been fine however, the manager went way above and offered to comp our cocktails. Randal, the bartender, and Josh, our server, were exceptional. We ordered a variety of dishes so we could share and experience multiple Creole flavors. We were a party of 5 and none of us were disappointed. Would definitely recommend.

Absolutely immaculate.
As a New Orleans native. It's quite hard to be impressed by food. Especially new restaurants but this is different. Chemin boasts an excellently menu, great drinks and a perfectly New Orleans view and vibe in the restaurant.
My close friends and I have been twice. The a la carte steaks are delicious and tender, the sides are the best versions of themselves I've ever tasted, and the appetizers are delicious and innovative. We've tried the salmon and so many different options and they are all delicious .
I went in for my birthday and the staff and everyone there was so welcome and accommodating. A few complimentary drinks to start us off and an immaculately experience the entire was through.
I completely recommend the restaurant.

I came here for my birthday lunch with my husband. Unfortunately his water cup had a chip on it and sliced his lip at the beginning of the meal. It sucks but not that big of a deal, we get that things happen. All we wanted was a courteous apology. But the waitress and gm were so awkward about the whole situation. They called security to make us file a report. I was shocked the gm wouldn’t have just come over, been extra nice, apologized and maybe comped a drink or something. We would have forgotten the whole thing if an effusive apology was made. Instead they called security like we were the ones in trouble. To be fair, in the end the gm did comp our meal which I sincerely appreciate. Though I don’t have confidence he would have done so if I hadn’t made a big deal of it with the staff. Just disappointing service for a high end establishment and a real damper on my birthday. Food was good at least.

Other’s reviews and previous underwhelming hotel restaurant experiences made me tepid prior to our visit, but we thoroughly enjoyed the food, service, and ambiance. Nothing was amiss and everything on point. Shoutout to Randall and the gentleman behind the raw bar whose name we didn’t catch.
I highly recommend the duck entree, shrimp entree, crab claws, as well as the crab boulettes. We tried all 3 oysters available and they were fresh and cleaned perfectly. It was well worth the price point and we will definitely be returning at some point during our stay!

Loved every dish that we have for our anniversary!
Service was great and the foie grad was heavenly…
Recommended!!

The food was excellent, the blue crab boulettes were amazing, the filet mignon was tender, and cooked perfectly. The view of the river is second to none. My negatives come from the service. I know it's a busy job. It gets a bit frustrating when you need something and can't t get it, but the table right next to yours gets visited 3/4 times before your 1. Not sure what it was, but the lack if service that I received and the table right next to us was getting showed it can be done.

Visually stunning with views of the River. Very comfortable seating. Servers were extremely attentive and knowledgeable. Unfortunately, the Pacific raw oysters were unpleasantly salty.
Deanne Scaringe
The view of the Mississippi is an added bonus, but who needs a bonus when the food and service are so impeccable. Loved blue crab boulettes, grilled shrimp with superb cauliflower gratin, and a nicely composed Mille Feuille for dessert. Even the cappuccino was perfect.

1) 20 minutes wait to be seated
2) 10 minutes to place an order
3) 20 minutes to be served just for a drink
4) gumbo was too salty

Wonderful service, refined tasty menu, and scenic views.
Carl Bonura
We were a large group of 9 so had to do a prix fixe menu but with nice selections and some shrimp and oysters to share for the table. Plenty of food.
Rebecca Clement
My husband and I dined here in March for a mini-honeymoon shortly after our wedding. I noted our celebration in the reservation and was not expecting anything special, but the dinner exceeded our expectations. We were congratulated by multiple staff members and treated to complimentary champagne and gumbo. All of the servers were very knowledgeable and friendly. The atmosphere and view is very nice, and every drink and dish were top notch. We had such an enjoyable time that we will be going back for Mother's Day with family.

Had a wonderful anniversary dinner here on our recent visit. Outstanding service, lovely creative cocktails, and really good food. It's almost a deceptively simple menu - lots of surf and turf - but the preparation, flavor, and presentation are all outstanding. Beautiful view to boot! We'll definitely be back!

Farm to fresh food in a beautiful setting. Much of it is sourced locally and is delicious. Not inexpensive but worth a good celebration night once in a while.

The food was great and the place is beautiful. Great view. I reserved the table two weeks à ahead for my boyfriend birthday and specifically left a note explaining we need a table by the window so we can have a nice view and called on the day to make sure they got my note to find out they wanted to give a table far from what I requested. That’s how the birthday dinner started for me and because I insisted the host change our table to the original request table. I am so glad I was the one that came first so he didn’t have all that to experience on his birthday. Very disappointed on the way they treated me. They gave us free dessert and changed our server but still didn’t make up for the initial mistake they didn’t which could have been avoided. Our server Jacob was outstanding please request for him if you ever go tho this restaurant.

Great addition to the New Orleans dining scene. Have to respect a place that opens softly, clearly throttling their capacity and proactively comping when they stumble on service.
All that aside, our server and sommelier were fantastic. Genuine, personable, and masters of their domain - yet authentic and approachable.
All of the food was on point and fantastic. Same with the drinks and wine recommendations.
The stumbles were really only noticed as shortcomings for fine dining (e.g. not clearing previous course before bringing out the next, temp off on one dish, etc) but, like I said above, they clearly noticed before we could even gossip about it among our table of 4, so you’ve gotta admire the long term potential of a place so excellently managed.

The food and drinks were great. The service was excellent. We really enjoyed Brandon at the oyster bar and Patrick. We were in New Orleans for 3 day and we went twice because of the service. The pan seared jumbo shrimp and cauliflower rice were amazing. This will definitely be on our to do list everytime we're in town.
Maria Montes
Our server from Ecuador was attentive and friendly. The food was delicious. We had the oysters with bacon as an appetizer. The old fashioned with rum was delicious.
Jeanne Arnoult
Michele took me for a bday lunch. I had the salmon. It was scrumptious. I think we like this spot better than Miss River. The Sommelier was on point. We enjoyed the bar downstairs as well. It was packed.
Jim Perrien
Beautiful venue. Great food. Great server. The vue at the trademark observation deck is amazing. Great video program on the history of the city
Courtney Vehrs
Renae & Will at the bar are wonderful! Cocktails & gumbo were top notch. We had a great lunch!
Kim Morris
Went there for the first time this weekend. Staff was really nice, and knowledgeable. The Foie Gras was AMAZING, Carpacciao was also very good. My steak was cooked to perfection and my husband's Salmon was one of the best we've had in the city. Our apple dessert and sweet wine was incredible. For such a new restaurant, Donald Link has really created a wonderful dining experience. We'll definitely be back.
I almost forgot to mention that the views were absolutely breathtaking, since our seats were right at the viewing level of the city anf Mississippi river. One of the main reasons we wanted to dine there, but we were ao caught up in the deliciousness of the food and experience, it blended within the atmosphere. Well done.

Enjoyed brunch here for Easter.. the staff were very attentive and amazing.. Thank you Shawn and Emily for the exceptional service..
Leslie Heindel
Food was lovely. Service was excellent. Only giving 4 stars because I wasn't blown away by the food- but it was solid. Our server was super knowledgable and I appreciated him. Large servings too- which was a surprise! The chocolate bomb dessert and the oysters were excellent.

Service and food was impeccable!! To celebrate our Anniversary at Chemin A la Mer, we couldn't have chosen better place- AMAZING VIEW & FOOD. We totally enjoyed the Crawfish Au gratin, seafood gumbo . As locals, its the best seafood okra gumbo I've ever enjoyed at any restaurant in the state of Louisiana. The Duck Confit and Pan Seared Jumbo Shrimp were great choices as well!! We definitely recommend and will be returning soon. Chemin is now listed on our top 5 restaurant lists.

The food was outstanding(that baked feta🤤) but what really took the cake was the phenomenal service my partner and I had. The staff was wonderful and I’m so happy we celebrated our anniversary here. We will definitely be back …

The dinner was the best experience during the stay in New Orleans. The duck confit and Chocolate bomb are fantastic. If you’re tied of the bustling Frech Quarter,it is a nice place to enjoy a dinner with a great view. The service is the best and so professional!
Dan Coelho
Unfortunately we had a disappointing evening. They’re probably suffering from staffing issues but waited an hour into our reservation to be seated and then waited another hour to get our order in. We had to send one of the entrees back.😑
The oysters however were wonderful! …

What possibly could beat Alabama's Murder oysters, wine, and the view of Mississippi? Nada! Enjoy!
Cari Roy
Every aspect of our dining experience was wonderful! Highly recommend the oysters and the steaks. Special shout out to the staff, especially Mignon and Robert, who made an exquisite meal even better.

First off, the view from Chemin a la Mer is one of the best in the city, hands down. The restaurant is beautiful. Our table tried a lot of items at lunch - Peel and Eat Shrimp, West Indies Crab Salad, Crabmeat au Gratin, Baked Feta, Beef Tartare, Grit Cakes, and Salmon. It was quite disappointing that there were no oysters when we visited when the logo literally has “oyster bar” in it and the first item on the menu is oysters, but… I’d go back. To me, the crab salad, tartare, and salmon were the standouts. Maybe not as good or creative as other Link restaurants, but they also don’t have this view or anything like it. It’s worth a try!

Wow. Go. Get the gumbo, crab salad, oysters, shrimp & cauliflower rice.

Out of the world ambience and food
Melvin Albritton
It was Lundi Gras so I guess they were just short staff. But steaks way overcooked (ordered medium rare and was closer to well done). Food and drinks came out in haphazard way. Great view and nice new space.
Celebrity Chef Maya
Fantastic ribeye!! Just amazing. The views are spectacular and the service is impeccable. Try the crab and tomato salad
DC Kim
