Reviews of Central City BBQ
Justina W
The burnt ends were phenomenal
The ribs were ok…..
The Mac n cheese had good flavor but it was super soft
The pulled pork was tender and flavorful
The brisket chili was great, but a bit salty (and I love salt!)
The cobbler was a pleasant blend of bread pudding and apple cobbler
The sauces were all yummy, especially the white sauce
The Brussels sprouts were super yummy!
The customer service was wonderful, and the atmosphere was divey. I loved the whole experience!
In a nutshell - DO IT! You’ll be happy you did!

if you come as a tourist and your hotel is in down town or garden district, you should stop here.
It's definitely not a fancy area but these guys have created a nice BBQ place here.
We have been here several times and we really liked it.
Lots of meat, lots of beer, lots of space. The only thing I don't like is that the store closes quite early.

Everything on the menu sounds amazing 🤤I can't wait to go back and try something new. We had the beef rib plate and the prime brisket plate. Absolutely delicious. What was really cool was how the owner came out to see how we liked it all 👍 👍 👍

This was my first time at CC BBQ (in town from TX). I came because my Mom had been several times before and realized they offered beef ribs; I don’t eat pork. My sister kept telling me we were going to the place with the pig.
Pros: Everything! The beef rib plate was the best I’ve ever had in LA or TX. Tender and juicy, pull the meat off the bone with your fingers and it melts in your mouth. It took me 2 days to eat the whole thing. The 5+4 was amazing. The choices you can have on it are worth it. Love the sauce and the pickles, too. Even the pellet ice was soft and good. 🤩
I loved the decor. The “mean mugging” pig made me laugh. I said he was mean and employee’s reply was “but he’s delicious”. My family concurred with that. 😃
Cons: The chicken breast was a little dry - but just dip it in the sauce.
My biggest disappointment is they are not located in Houston. Please come back to Texas with me.💜⚜️

Looked this place up while at the airport and it had good reviews and was close by our air b n b. We had a few hours before we were able to check in so we went to find out for ourselves what the place was all about. The food was really good as well as the service. Out bar tender was extremely cool and gave us a lot of info about the neighborhood. Will be back before we take off.

The best bar b que I've tasted thus far. The food was so good and tender. well seasoned, I didn't even need to use any sauces on the meat. The ribs practically fell off the bone and the fire pickles was amazing. Overall a great experience. absolutely fantastic barbecue and for me the strawberry lemonade stole the show....I was thoroughly pleased.

Absolutely Delicious
We were late getting there and by the time we arrived they were out of most meats but still had enough left to taste some and be completely blown away by the flavors. The ribs had such a great Smoky flavor and pulled off using the plastic fork effortlessly. So tender. I ventured to say these were some of the best I'd ever eaten. The house made jalapeno cheddar sausage was remarkably fantastic to this Cajun who has small sausage smokers all around at home and the flavors were so good I ranked it high. The brussel sprouts deserve their own separate rating as they are so good. Mac and cheese was fabulous as well. I will be back.

Was looking everywhere for good bbq or even good food in general because a lot of places in New Orleans aren’t as good as advertised. A lot of hype with some of these places but this one didn’t disappoint at all. Very nice isolated location that was roomy for lots of fun activities and eating. They have a bar in the inside and a really nice area outside for eating and watching the football game. The staff was very nice and helpful. Very clean. The food was as good as it looked. Would 100% recommend this place and will be coming back with friends soon. Burnt ends were really good! Good overall was good!! Support small businesses!!

Location was a little bit weird I wouldn’t just walk there definitely drive or take an Uber or Cab…. Atmosphere was BBQ style with a big outdoor patio. Pork belly was spicy but delicious 🤤 Burnt end brisket was my favorite very tender and full of flavor. Corn bites were eh….. the white bbq sauce great!!!! And max and cheese on point ! Definitely recommend this spot!

I don’t leave a lot of reviews mostly because I’ll just go back to places I love. I also don’t eat bbq a lot, not because I don’t want to, but because most bbq in this country is meh. CCBBQ was easily one of the three best bbq places I’ve been to in the country and that list is long. Burnt ends perfect. Ribs perfect. Sauces also perfect. Will be frequenting here a lot.
Joy Gray
As someone who smokes meat I can be pretty picky. I got the 2 meat plate with burnt ends, pulled pork, spoon bread and macaroni. I'm going to have to do extra cardio today but it's worth it. Everything was great and the service was top notch. Absolutely try this place. GET THE SPOONBREAD.

I didn't get to experience the full atmosphere of this place, but the time spent here was nice. Our bartender/waitress was attentive (we were sitting at the bar). Even those they were out of a lot of the meats (late in the day) the food we did order was amazing. I can't even remember which style meat I ordered (which was good), but the mac and cheese was to die for. I had to get another order of the mac and cheese (with bacon). All and all it was a great place with good food.
Richard Daniel
One of the best stops in NOLA for BBQ. Food is always great no matter what I get, but the Brussel Sprouts are on my plate EVERY time.
Alex Angelo
Great bbq spot! Had the brisket sandwich. It was fantastic! Very juicy and flavorful. The ambiance is also clean and inviting. Friendly staff.
Stephanie Thi
Delicious bbq. The sauces are flavourful and addictive. The brussel sprouts were awesome. The turkey wasn’t our favourite and we’d recommend the other bbq items. The food was also cold when we received it.
Dan Drucker
Was here for a corporate event and this place did not disappoint. Food was very good and was juicy. Loved the smell of the smoker when walking back in the restaurant. If you’re in the downtown area, you have to stop in to this laid back spot for some great bbq.
Hollie Spencer
Hands down Best BBQ my husband and I have eaten at the sides were Amazing as well. We got the burnt tips, wings, potato salad, spoon bread and the slaw. The slaw was bland but everything else was Delic!!!! 🤤🤤🤤
Austin Payne
Really liked that this place wasn't just your average barbecue joint. Smells great as soon as you walk in. They have a variety of sauces (the white sauce is good on anything and everything). Brisket, burnt ends, and fries barbecue balls all outstanding. They have their own special strawberry lemonade. Indoor and outdoor seating and a central bar with TVs all around. It's a great spot.
Tanya Hoarn
The Brussel sprouts were possibly the best sprouts I have found! The ribs were absolutely amazing as well. We all left full and happy. Outdoor space was great. Would stop again for sure!
Taylor Lee
Yummy BBQ, fast service, and love how they have large parking lot for easy parking! Can never go wrong with the cornbread spoonful or Brussels sprouts
JeAnne Swinley
Best BBQ in the city... Fight me. The five meat platter with an extra side is enough for three meals and you will want leftovers. I haven't had a single thing I don't love. Cowboy candy? Amazing. Award winning chicken wings? YUMMO. Brisket and pulled pork? The best. Chili with brisket? Get outta here. The spoon corn pudding is a must as are the glazed crispy brussels. Do it. Also GREAT place to watch Saints games if you don't want to squeeze into Finns or Bayou beer garden. Great outdoor space, tons of parking and a great party room. I cannot say enough good things about this gem. And if we ever get free of covid, chicken wing festival wars!!!
Vincent Phi
Their menu is huge & always with a special so make sure you follow them on social media for updates!! Here's a bowl of thro brisket pho & burnt ends in the background! Pretty delicious

Excellent food if you like meat. Not many options for vegetarians.

Central City BBQ has been on my radar for years and I finally made it here due to boredom. I arrived around 4:30pm on a Saturday and there weren’t many guests. Parking options were great on the street and in their gravel lot. There’s a nice outdoor seating area that I hope to sit in once the weather is better.
I ordered takeout (pork nachos and 3 meat combo plate) and only had to wait a few minutes for my order. The guy said that he put the sweet BBQ sauce in my bag but he literally only gave me 2 of those tiny cups. Those 2 cups weren’t even enough for the nachos.
The nachos were good but there were some really large chunks of pork and some were fatty. It would have been nice if all the meat was pulled. For the combo, I had chicken (nice flavor but lacked tenderness), ribs (very tender and good) and sliced brisket (good). I enjoyed my sides (pit house beans and potato salad).
There are some other menu items I’d like to try, so would definitely eat here again...minus the chicken.
Steven Chu
BBQ lover here- here’s my rankings:
GET:
Ribs- tender off the bone A+
Brussels sprouts- caramelized and sweet to perfection A+
Cup of chili- good good good A
Potato salad good though small B+
SKIP:
Pulled pork- dry/ flavor ok B
Smoked chicken breast and Smoked turkey… super dry like a brick of bread / not v flavored C
Mac n cheese - dry n hard not creamy C+
FYI- the displayed prices on the board are wrong, 2 meat combo was listed at $20 but the register rang it as $22.
Would come back to try the USDA prime brisket- was sold out.
Chasity J.
Central City BBQ has great wings and mac n cheese. I've tried the smoked turkey and chicken are both okay, but much better when the seasoned vinegar is topped with it.
Plenty of indoor and outdoor seating.
The staff is always pleasant.
I do recommend Central City BBQ and I'd visit every once in a while.
K & J Calliste
This was my first time here and I have been telling everyone I know. Two of our friends already made a stop with their families. We have been looking for something like this since we moved from Chicago. The customer service was great from the cashier all the way to the gentleman’s preparing the food. We had a lot of questions and they answered each one with a smile. All the meats that we ordered were delicious. The ribs slid straight off the bone and the chicken was amazing. The sides....well....I can say I had better, but they were decent. They seemed a little dry for us, but to other’s it may be okay. The only reason I couldn’t give five stars was because the General Manager gave an unsatisfactory attitude. My husband does not care for pickles, but he enjoyed these so he wanted to order a few more. He felt like it was a bother for her to assist him at the moment. Mind you he is not the one to let things get to him as quickly as I do, so for him to comment about it he definitely felt a way. Nevertheless, this restaurant was great and we will be back a few more times before we move as long as we receive exceptional customer service and great food!

This place is such a great experience. The staff is friendly and hard-working. The food is amazing. Local food for locals. Not crowded with tourists. You better like crowds, though, because it's definitely a lunchtime favorite
Rhonda Magee
This food was so good! Everything that I ate was wonderful, even the corn nuggets and homemade pickles! Worth a few return visits and a top choice when choosing bbq!
Kirstie My
This is a meat lover’s haven! The brisket was flavorful and tender as was the smoked wings. The bbq sauce is also good with a tangy, spicy flavor. There is spacious parking and big TVs for game day.
Shinal
Recommended from a local I ended up walking in just before lunch time rush in a Sunday. The food was great!!! The cornbread was my highlight. Defs a must.
Patricia DL
I couldn't take a picture of the most delicious brisket because it was too delicious to wait. BBQ beans are right and proper as well. Can't wait to try something else!
Beth Fricke
Always amazing. Pulled pork nachos, brisket and brussell sprouts may not sound like much, but I could die, perfectly content.
I'm comin' Elizabeth!

Mmm mmm good! Delicious barbecue. I have lived in New Orleans for over 2 years and I have heard about this place so much and now I’m kicking myself for not coming sooner. The atmosphere is laid back and farm house like. Lots of outdoor seating. Very much of a warehouse setting. The food is flavorful and delicious. The ribs are incredible, wings are crispy and juicy and the same time. If you are in town or live here and want barbecue this is the place to be.
Allan Berger
The barbq ribs and pulled pork sandwiches are great !!! So are the sides. Thats what i ordered a few times. Enjoy!!
Teneha B
Great place. Great food. JD the GM is helpful, informative & delivers excellent customer service; as does the rest of the staff & employees. Such a pleasant group of people.
Side note: If memory serves me right, I recall this being a seafood market some time ago, B & L or R & L; ehhhh no matter, now CENTRAL CITY BBQ is here & hopefully here to stay.
What can I say, this is a place for ALL THINGS BBQ. The menu is expansive & I'm sure there's something there for everyone. For me, I got the BURNT ENDS SANDWICH & that was a GREAT choice. The meat was super tender & of course the burnt tips were smokey & sweet, ooooooohh so good. I didn't even eat the bun, simply dipped the burnt ends in BBQ sauce & that was enough for me. I also got a side of Mac-N-Cheese, which I LOOOOOOOOOVEEE covered with Bacon Bits, which also LOOOOVVVVEEEEEEEEEEE.
I love the customer service. I love the ambiance. I love the decor, hello little piggy, I see you. I love the location.
Ample room for parking as there's a lot attached to the restaurant itself; as indicated by the signage.
This place has a backyard-like area that can be used for concerts and the like, plus there's a stage as well. Per JD, they're gonna be holding concerts and the like there... WoooHoooo, I can't wait to see when it does. Ooooooooh and one of the shipping containers that borders the backyard area has be fashioned into a BAR... Hello, outside & a bar = WINNING!!!!!!
I'll be going back, sooner than later... there are more things on the menu I PERSONALLY need to try.
Additionally they host the Caribbean Festival and what a great time that can be had. I suggest going after 5ish once the sun is going down.
Great time. Love the kids tent; they make sure there plenty for the kids to do: coloring, ring toss, a blow-up basketball goal and lots more.
The music is great and so are the dancers.
Great place. Great folks.

Food was amazing. Best Brussel sprouts i ever had! The bbq was good aswell. Their spicy bbq sauce was good with a nice bite to it. Best meal i have had in NOLA , thus far in past 3 days.
Matt Bowling
Brisket was incredible. Great service, love a fellow Premier League fan too. Would come back again, and is worth the walk.
Thomas Lee
This prime rib is amazing. It'd more like a Brontosaurus burger. It takes 2 people to eat it. It's well worth the money. It's a Sunday special so make sure you visit on the right day.
Mr. Peter Flanagan
I'm from east TN where BBQ is huuuuge and this is the best I've had. The dry rub is sugary sweet, the brisket chili is nothing short of amazing
Carrie Chlebanowski
Hubby wanted BBQ and this was the closest to our hotel. We sat at the bar and were greeted by super friendly bartender. We ended up splitting the brisket chili cheese fries and a 3 meat platter of boudin, smoked turkey and sliced brisket. Got corn spoonbread and brussel sprouts as rhe sides. Everything was delicious... Brussels stole the show though.
Mitchells Making Memories
The staff is super friendly. The food had a good taste but it was not hot enough at all. Maybe we will try again. It was super clean also.
Alexander Adamick
i work around the corner and am constantly drawn here by the wonderful aromas. i order the two meat plate with chopped brisket and ribs, spoon bread and brussell sprouts. can't go wrong with that! they have a great staff and the service is always fantastic.
Sterling Talob Waters
Burnt ends were out of this world and the smoked wings with the hot sauce were killer. Super friendly staff, excited to go back!
Kelly Ann Varonfakis
Good selection of protein, sides, and beverages. Portions *may* look a bit small with respect to price, but it's all pretty filling. Parking is currently available on site, and street parking is fairly easy to navigate.
Will S
Nice party room with really good food. Loved the brisket. Nice bar and convenient parking. Food is good. Location is good for this part of the city. Everything cooked on site. Chicken, baked beans and cold slaw very good also. Was not crazy about the bread pudding. Should have had some raisins! Dirty metini had way too much olive juice. But i liked this restaurant. Good food, great beer, and a nice bar. What more could you want?
Arthur Ross, Jr.
We love good bbq and none of us had been here before, and it was instant regret at first bite! Everything we ate was delicious! I had the two-meat platter with cowboy candy & brisket, with Mac & cheese and Brussel sprouts as sides. Each dish was superb in its own right! Flavorful, perfectly seasoned, and delectable. My party got sandwiches, brisket and pulled pork, both declared excellent. Portions were generous as evidenced by our takeaway boxes, since we did not want to abandon such good eats,
Lastly, I was astonished at how little traffic the restaurant had, but business seemed to be picking up as we left. The size of the property tells me pre-pandemic it must’ve been a very popular venue for music (two outdoor stages), and large gatherings (two large indoor and an outdoor dining area). With food this good, CC BBQ deserves a crowd every day!
John R. Levine
Very good pulled pork, spoon bread and sauces. Great event space as well. The burnt ends are a shadow of what they were when they opened. They are usually dried out. They are insanely expensive and the quality is significantly less than the reputation they opened up with. Good food but unreasonably expensive for certain items.
Bigrobnisee1
Food is delicious, although I would have preferred the sauce directly on my meat.
Deanna Sweet-Boudreau
Awesome food. Best BBQ including Nashville. Just outstanding. Fried Brussels sprouts are not to be mossed.
Ed Olsen
I have a hard time deciding which is better...here or The Joint...for BBQ in New Orleans.
CC has great meats. The jalapeno sausage is awesome, the brisket is nice and juicy, the chicken is not dried out.
Their sauces are very good. They have a sweet sauce a spicy sauce and a cream sauce. Never seen a creamy bbq sauce before here. It's is different and enhances flavors instead of asking them.
The pit beans are incredible with bits of smoked meat in them, and so is the chilli.
And don't forget about the broussel sprouts....they are roasted and then covered in a chilli sauce. I got a friend of mine to try them even though he hates broussles..he orders them every time we go now.
R Simmons
If this the best rib joint Nola has to offer then we aren't off to a good start. Ribs were decent. Fries were horrible and an after thought. Mac and cheese was unforgettable. Boudain had a weird taste. Food overall came out cold, especially boudain and ribs. It's a no for me dawg.
Jason Chapman
Really amazing place... seriously one of the best BBQ meals I've ever had. Highly recommend.
T. Zwip
Awesome BBQ & service!!!! It’s kind of off the beaten path, but so worth it!! Shared a three meat combo and if was so delicious we order more!!
Joe Wang
Very unassuming from the outside but this place made the best ribs I've ever had. Tender juicy and sweet.
Patrick Reed
Fantastic place with ample seating and a large, well stocked bar. The food is great and the service better (ask for Meg!). Great for events, watching the big game, or just a regular meal. Great event and outdoor space.
Kiedrick Addison
It's totally understandable High Deez guys place so well in da BBQ contest anywhere dey enter!......Best BBQ uptown hands down!...... Dey have military 🪖 discount too!...... HoooooooooaaH!.......
Blacdadi Strahberies
The pics say it all, I've been in Nola fr 3 yrs and I can finally say I've found it!! Falling off the bone ribs with various sauces for your taste buds can't ask for anything else
Aaron Shepherd
Food awesome, staff was great. Like how the cook came out and talked with us, very passionate about ribs. Cant wait too find out when hes local, ribs unreal
Dharamveer Singh
The best chili I have ever had. Brisket, ribs, burnt ends were all so delicious. Great customer service, the pitmaster came over to talk to each table.
Tristan Jacobucci
If you're hesitant about this place, let me tell you it was so worth it. I walked there from only like 10 minutes away, and it was a little confusing getting there because of the expressway and streets being weird and winding, still worth it. It's a big ol sort of complex where it looks like the smoke and make everything on sight. There is secure parking inside the the gated area, and plenty of outdoor seating, and even a stage! I got the 3 meat combo plate with Burnt Ends, Brisket and pulled pork. All equally as good. The burnt ends practically melt in you mouth, and the Brisket was thick, and tender. The spoon bread was definitely a pleasant surprise, and the Mac n cheese was good as well. The real taste bud blower was the special deep fried Brisket balls. Wow were those delicious. The price might be a little deterring, but I promise you with price of meat and everything currently at 24 for the plate that's pretty fair. Definitely brave the some what sketchy area and try this place out you will not regret it. Even the sweet tea and lemonade were off the chain! Seriously go try them, signed a very satisfied first time customer 😀
Ryan Jones
First experience here and this place is awesome! Smoked Brisket Pho and Pork Egg rolls were wonderful. Atmosphere and employees were great, the outside area looks very inviting when they have live music
Patricia Damian-Richardson
I'm a huge BBQ lover and have been to many places to find the best. CC BBQ is definitely a major contender. I love the spices/sauces that used the pit masters used on the meats (it packs some heat). I had the rib ends and pork belly and thought I had died and gone to heaven, My husband was extremely happy with his pork BBQ and brisket. The bartender/server, Garrett was enthusiastic and informative. A definite asset to the restaurant . Unfortunately I was just visiting the City and had to leave this wonderful place behind. If I ever return to New Orleans, this will be a definite stop.
Tondalayer Talbert
Man the meats & sides were delicious, we had the meal for 4 and we couldn’t eat it all. For $72 the price was perfect.
pierre lanoix
Beef rib, rib tips, and smoked sausage are off the chain. CC bbq is the best bbq in the city by a long shot.
Justin Lui
Five star for NOLA -- with a caveat.
Is it the BEST BBQ ever? Nah. Is it the best in the New Orleans? Hm, it's up there.
1. The ribs? On the dryer side. Flavor solid.
2. Brisket? Enjoyable. Oddly enough Rudy's BBQ is way better but here, enjoyable.
3. Fries? I had low expectations b/c it looks like a skinny steak fry. I don't care for steak fries. Theirs? Awesome. Crispy. Excellent flavor.
4. Potato Salad? It's just there, lol. I am not a fan of their vinegar based potato salad.
5. BBQ sauces? Very good. Spicy is very good. Their white sauce? Excellent. Their vinegar one? Good but I don't prefer it on BBQ. Sweet? Good.
Overall, I like the environment. The food is very good. Not amazing BBQ but good BBQ (compared to Memphis, Kansas City, or Texas). C C BBQ are very good. 4.5 star out of 5 (and thus rounded up to 5).
Carol Namisnak
Pretty decent BBQ, but we’re not in Texas or Carolina. $29 a pound seems steep when the counter girl doesn’t even know what “moist” means when it comes to brisket. Rib tips and burnt ends are tasty, sides are good albeit almost uniformly sweet. Charging 50 cents for a slice of white bread, adding credit card fees without saying so until the receipt arrives, all makes me feel like I’m being nickel and dimed at dinner to keep a huge, often empty event space afloat. Shouldn’t that be the other way around?
Phil Wingo
A great bbq joint , loved it all
Pitmaster james has it diled in

Kynyetta Baez
Their cornbread is the stuff of dreams...I loved this place I cannot wait to go back! Staff was nice and very helpful we were out of towners and had no clue what to order.
Emma Fraley
Best bbq I’ve had since leaving Texas. The chili was smoky and flavorful and the ribs absolutely slid off the bone. The hardest part about eating here is choosing what to get next time!
Mike L (Nfltex)
We had a great dinner here during our stay in New Orleans. Our favourite was the burnt ends and chopped brisket. A number of state troopers were also eating dinner here so obviously it is good!
Travis Shelton
Incredible BBQ - try the burnt ends and brussel sprouts - definitely worth it!
katie gilmore
The best customer service and consistently good food. Central City is by far the best BBQ food in the city! Would highly recommend Central City if you are looking for good BBQ in New Orleans!
Kizzy Vieux
I wish they sell beef ribs!!!! Absolutely delicious
Donna Fransen
The place was clean, table spacing was good, the girl at the front counter was a little stand offish. There was no welcome, hello, just what's your order. The food was delicious! The rib meat was falling off the bone, and flavor was spot on. The portions were geneeous. I definitely will go back.
Graham Green
This was my first experience of BBQ in NOLA. Coming from Kansas City my expectations were pretty high and Central City BBQ didn't disappoint. I'll definitely be back.
Carol Hutchison
Everything is delicious! I love the chicken wings and the pulled pork.
Kim RoSser
We came for the burnt ends and were not disappointed. They were awesome. The crispy brussel sprouts were done just right and that spicy sweet sauce was super yum. We had a quick spicy margarita while waiting and even it was on point. We will definitely be back to be sure it's always this good.
Joe Lee
I tried this establishment 2x for delivery. First time, I ordered the triple meat (Ribs, burnt ends pork belly, & Brisket) with Mac & cheese & Brussel sprouts. Ribs were fall off the bone. Brisket was fantastic and still juicy. But the pork belly… HOLY JESUS, that was delicious. It was my first time having burnt ends, and I would recommend everyone to try it. Because I enjoyed my first time so much, I ordered it again. Unfortunately my second experience was sub par. I ordered the smoked sausage, burnt end brisket, and of course, the burnt end pork belly with slaw and French fries. Sausage was decent. Burnt end pork belly was still delicious. But the burnt end brisket was quite inedible. Maybe I misunderstood, because my best way to describe it is that it tasted like it was extremely over cooked. There was a $1.50 up charge for that brisket, so I thought maybe they would char it after the slow cooking. But it was extremely dry and hard to chew (imagine over cooked steak). I gave this place a 4/5, because their sides and most meats are delicious (especially the burnt end pork belly). However, I would not try the burnt end brisket if that’s how it’s meant to taste. The slaw was great, and they took an interesting take on fries. They looked like thin steak fries. Overall, good experience and would recommend

Great meaty juicy rib tips!!! My family treats ourselves to this delicious magic twice a month!!
Leslie Molson
Excellent! I often say that you can judge a BBQ place by its side dishes, and Central City gets an A+! The meats are a tad salty, but you won't mind as you wolf them down. Ribs, brisket, chicken–all are great!
Lacey Conley
We come here every time we come to New Orleans... and we are obsessed! The cowboy candy and spoon bread are our families favorites. The people that work here are the best. We have brought bbq sauce home 3 times and shipped shirts and rub to Indiana. Definitely try it out!
Gary Kuhn
Best BBQ I've had in New Orleans. I had the big combo plate so I could try it all. All good but my factories were the ribs, boudin, and corn pudding. They knocked this one out the park!
Update. Came back for beef short rib on Sunday. Still amazing.
Mark Kaminski
Great staff, food, drinks.
David Gamble
Brisket little dry, but sauces and side are amazing
Yrn
Nice to see more bbq places in LA, I hope they continue to do better. The cobbler was really dry, but I’ll check them out again bc they were out of brisket. I would recommend against the pork belly and burnt tips, otherwise a decent experience.
Asher McInerney
Family style large venue with a full bar. My favorite was the brisket. Indoor outdoor seating. Up and coming classic.
Tara Greenlow
Pork belly burnt ends, brisket, sausage, crispy sprouts and spoonbread were amazing! Sadly we were unable to try the brisket burnt ends because they were sold out before we could order.
ROCK C
Jake hardy is awesome !!!! He recommended 2 awesome side to go with our lunch.
Rachel R
I had no idea this place was so big and busy! I thought I was going to be at a hole-in-the-wall rib joint, but this was way better and the food just as authentic. My pulled pork sandwich was enormous and the brisket egg roll things? were SO tasty. I think I ate on this one meal for two days. Will be back with friends. I had great service as well.
Peter Baron
New Orleans isn’t exactly known for their BBQ, but Central City BBQ does it right.
Everything has amazing smoke and season flavor.
Their corn spoonbread is far too addicting to be legal.
Only suggestion would be to put the burnt ends back in for a few hours to crisp up. They are tasty for sure, but they aren’t burnt ends. They are basically a brisket version of pork belly cubes. Which again are amazing, but they aren’t burnt ends, which is a bummer.
Overall though, this is top freaking notch BBQ. Could stand their own against Texas, KC, and North Carolina any day.
Kaylyn Broussard
Ate here for the first time. Decent food. Didn't like that I had to wait in line to order. Wish we had a server. Chicken breast sandwich was good but chicken was a little dry and my daiquiri had NO alcohol in it. Other than that, good food. My husband said the ribs are awesome.
Johanna Rosales
Loved the food. Received my meal quickly and of great quality. It was pretty filling as well. Had the spoon bread as a side for the first time ever and it was a great first.
Wanda Kay
I've been wanting to try this place forever. Man, they did not disappoint! I had the brisket and rib plate. The ribs were so good and tender. The brisket was amazing as well. Loved the baked beans, but the mac and cheese was just okay. I will definitely be back! No pics bc I forgot; the food was just that good!
Donna Copelin
I love this bbq place!! The food is amazing
Shannon Webster
Such a vibe in the heart of the city filled with masterfully crafted BBQ. Their mac ‘n cheese is also scrumptious. Everyone was super pleasant who worked there and not to mention they have a great logo. Bought a bottle of each of their seasonings…only thing missing is bottled sauce!! Highly recommend coming here if you’re in the area!
Ramiro Rego Álvarez
Warm welcome, wise advise, phenomenal food and nice atmosphere. If I can, I repeat.
Christopher Renard
This is a must stop when visiting New Orleans! Food and service was fantastic
The best barbecue around
Sam Pallas
We had our rehearsal dinner here on 11/26/21 and had an incredible experience! Jenna was so accommodating and easy to work with. The food, as usual, was absolutely incredible! We had some technical difficulties on our end playing our "growing up" video, but they helped our mom play it eventually and were very kind. I am beyond happy with choosing them!
Martineja Coats
Best wings in the city and probably the reason Nola bbq is rated best in the country. They know how it’s done. Texas where?? Kansas City who?
Ken Robertson
I'm a North Carolina boy who loves barbecue which to Tar Heels means pork barbecue. So, I was a bit surprised by the absolute delight of this barbecue restaurant. They're barbecue is out of this world! They were out of pork barbecue the day that I went so I got the beef brisket and beef ribs that were succulent and oh so delicious. If you like a very laid-back old style Southern BBQ joint this is your baby. Highly recommended.
Adam T.
Nice place if you're looking for BBQ. New Orleans isn't really known for its BBQ scene, but this place was a good choice! The brisket was a bit disappointing, had a tang to it I've never tasted with brisket before, but still pretty good!
christopher Loebbaka
Great food and drinks. Try it all. Got to meet james the pit master and much love he give us showing us around.
John Radziewicz
Central City BBQ gets better every time I go. There were more crowds today than usual so the food took a little longer than normal but I saw lots of smiling faces. I ordered the cowboy candy which is barbecue covered pork belly with chili. Both were tasty. My friend had smoked chicken which I tried and it was very good as well. Not very dry at all. My last friend had an open-faced sandwich. I did not try that. He did order the Philly cheese steak fried egg rolls. They looked very good and he said they were delicious.
Matt Sawchuk
Awesome atmosphere with excellent BBQ and sides. I will definitely be traveling back for that sweet corn spoonbread!
Sarah Brooks
Best food I had my whole week of eating out in NOLA. Brisket was amazing!
Linda Pendleton
Very good barbecue but not so good sides. Baked beans was a beab juice with a few beans. I ate it like soup. Slaw and potatoes salad was just okay.
Brittany Lisenby
Love this spot!! There are a few really good bbq spots in the city, but I can not get enough of this smoked turkey, sweet sauce, and BRUSSEL SPROUTS! I don’t even eat brussel sprouts!
Tran V.
This place was delicious. It’s ain’t Texas BBQ but it’s good enough to satisfy some BBQ cravings. My husband and I got the three meat combo. He got the brisket, pulled pork, and ribs while I got the cowboy candy, smoked chicken, and brisket. Everything was yummy and I don’t even like pulled pork that much! I was worried the portions were going to be small because combos like that tend to be but boy was I wrong. The portions were pretty big. The sides were all good too but you HAVE to get the sweet corn spoonbread. So moist. So good. Everyone there was very sweet, and the place was nice and clean.
Wes Lewis
Great atmosphere, staff and most of all FOOD! Would definitely recommend!
Miranda Walker
I frequent this place, and much of that is due to the fact that they have *parking*! There is plenty of room no matter what time you go, the outdoor area is nice, and the food is good. Wings, brisket chili, and Brussels sprouts are my favorites, and they have white bbq sauce which is a plus if you like that.
Shira T
Very good brisket and chicken!
The staff is very patient. Thank you for helping me choose the best options for me!
Jeffery Morrison
Delicious Supper! Ordered the 3 meat combo plate with ribs, sliced brisket, & burnt ends. Meat was excellent! Be sure to order extra sauce cause it comes without it. We ordered 2 extra & are glad we did cause I like mine sopping in sauce!! The bacon Mac was great. Wife loved the spoonbread. Never had that before & it’s delicious. Had the brownie for desert & it’s great too, very gooey & moist. We ordered thru Uber Eats & didn’t receive the baked beans we ordered & got a bacon Mac instead of the creamy Mac, but they immediately made it right. All in all, great food. Definitely recommend.
Martha Manzanares
Friendly service via phone or in person. Server helped me save some $$$ by ordering in am efficient manner. Ribs are some of the best! You can also order the sauce for the brussels on the side. Game changer. Thank you!
Baldi Mefer Mejia
Been here twice and everything is very very good. Had wings a few days ago and the were on point 👌🏽
Very nice setting too, good parking, nice outside/stage area …
Scott Bickle
Great meat. My wife and I have love a good brisket. This was one of the best we’ve had. Very savory and moist. All the sides were a tasty compliment to the salty meats. Not too salty, just right. Also, the bbq sauce is slightly sweet with a little kick. Soooo good.
Andrew Bruns
Awesome. Brisket cut with a plastic knife and was great. Sauce is great. Boudin was smoky and spicy, but not too spicy - just a little bite to say hello. Mac and cheese was great. Apple cobbler was great. Place is a gem on South Rampart 1/2 block off the interstate. Total surprise - was expecting a hole in the wall, but it is a great, nice BBQ joint with off street parking to boot. Picked up for myself and 4 other people for lunch and we are all looking for an after-lunch nap now. Everybody raved about the food - turkey, chicken, brisket and boudin.
Reggie Poplus
We both the platter and four grown men could not finish it .... plenty of food and it was Delicious!;
David Nelson
Food is always great. drinks are always good. Friendly staff
R. W. Adams
I always enjoy Central City BBQ. Their wings are top notch as well as the ribs. I grabbed one and the other two fell off. Talk about tender. I really enjoyed them. The fries were a little cold but the mac and cheese with the bacon was on point. Need to try the turkey next time.
Michael Williams
Excellent meats, great service, and we got a tour of the facility after dinner.
Emily Conner
Brussels sprouts and spoonbread are amazing! Loved the burnt ends and pulled pork as well but come for the sides!
Barry K
Nothing wrong with the food here but my expectations had been heightened by hype on social media and my experience fell a little short. Had the burnt ends and ribs and while the meat was tender, the flavors were not as "in your face" as I personally prefer when it comes to BBQ. I wouldn't get the burnt ends again, to be honest. They seemed like they could have sat in the smoke for a good bit longer. The highlight on the plate was the pit beans. Very good beans, loaded up with salt and sugar I'm sure but that's what I was hoping for.
Biggest disappointment was that to order food, you have to stand in a cattle-call style line inside the building. Seemed like there could have been a better contingency during the virus pandemic, especially for diners like me who expected to be able to stay outside the whole time to minimize exposure.
David S.
Solid flavor profiles in the sauces and perfectly cooked meats. The coleslaw is a little watery but has a good complementary flavor. The only drawback is the higher than expected prices. Not an everyday eatery but still a treat to visit occasionally.
Brian Bell
I get takeout from here every few weeks. I have yet to have better BBQ in the city limits. They have the best chopped brisket I’ve ever had. The burnt ends are the things that dreams are made of. The ribs are outstanding. The brussels sprouts may be the best bite of food on the entire menu. The mac & cheese is absolutely insane. And the spoon bread is also a great side item.
Plus, they have an enormous space so that you can show up with a large crowd, obviously when there is not a pandemic, and you can be accommodated.
A++
Ronald J Staes Jr
Always a good spot for good eats! Also a good spot to watch the games & have a drink!
Mark Clark
The best of the best. Don't sleep on Central City BBQ. One of many great BBQ joints in New Orleans. One of my top favorites. The burnt ends can't be beat.
GJ CALL
This was my first time eating here. My daughter been here once before. She ranks this as her new favorite, She ordered pulled pork, chicken breast, Mac and cheese, and fries. I ordered blackened ends, jalapeno cheddar sausage, crispy brussel sprouts, and the Mac and cheese. I've had better sprouts at other local bbq spots. We both agree the Mac and cheese was a big let down. It taste like store bought box Mac and cheese with the squeeze pouch cheese. We will definitely be back but will order different sides.
Cale Byrd
Had a awesome lunch there with a wonderful Bloody Mary
Larry farmer
Amazing bbq. Some of the best I have ever eaten. The brisket will melt in your mouth and the ribs are fall off the bone. Definitely worth a visit. It is in a slightly sketchy area but is also very safe.
Bryan Briggs
Brisket very tender, beans sweet and smoky, potato salad different but very good. Chicken was a little dry but great flavor. Spicy bbq sauce delicious. They even gave us a free sample of their frozen margarita, which was surprisingly good.
Joe Chlebanowski
This place hit on ALL the right taste buds. 2 of us shared Chili cheese fries (delish) and the 3 Meat combo - sliced brisket, boudin, smoked turkey, with crispy brussel sprouts, and sweet corn spoonbread. It was all phenomenal, but the Brussels sprouts blew my mind!
Nina M
THIS BBQ IS AMAZING! but get there earlier in the day before stuff sells out! I had the pulled pork and it was probably the best I've ever had! My husband got the ribs and those are up there on the list as the greatest ribs my tastebuds ever had the honor of eating. If I had more time in the area I would've loved to try everything on the menu.
Brittanie Nevitt
Let’s start off by saying I’m amazed ! We waited 10 minutes but by the way it smelt we knew it was worth the wait. Brooke was our waitress and let me tell you all that she is absolutely amazing at her job, her attitude, her laughter, her knowledge of the menu was amazing. The food is to die for, the burger was juicy , the fries were crisp, the pulled chicken was juicy and the Mac and cheese was rich. This place is a must !
Aaron Lightsey
Burnt ends 100% fire, pork belly even better
Evan Christenson
The pulled pork sandwich was great. I think it could actually use a little less seasoning because the pork itself had enough flavor. The interior decorating was nice as well.
Eddie
Only reason why I don’t give 5 stars is because the food was cold other than that ! Good flavor and great service
Stephen “𓅃” Hawkins
EVERYTHING WAS SO GOOD!
We had the 5+4 combo plate. They say it can feed three but I would venture to say that it could feed four or five. For the five meats we had brisket burnt ends, ribs, candied pork belly, pulled pork, and sausage. I have to say the burnt ends and pork belly were my favorite of the meats but they are all delicious. My wife said her favorite meat was whichever one she was eating at the time. Our four sides were french fries, Brussels sprouts, coleslaw, and mac and cheese. The sprouts and fries were the best. I would probably skip the bacon mac n cheese next time.
This is my new favorite BBQ spot in New Orleans. Sorry, Blue Oak.
Carrie Parker
Food was decent. Brussel sprouts were the best side on the table. Mildly disappointed in the smoked sausage but burnt tips were good. A bit shocked at the price of drinks considering the tea was nothing special.
Philip X. Diaz
Prices are on the high end but the food is good. Ironically, the best thing I had was their Brussels sprouts, which are OUTSTANDING. The brisket was decent (but maybe that's not their specialty). I will definitely be going back to try more of the menu since they are a short walk away from my house.
Travis Gould
Really, really good. The brisket was one of my favorite, but the chilli was able to take the first spot for me. The strawberry lemonade was very tasty. My only complaint was the burnt ends. They weren't burnt, but just tasted like regular pieces of meat. I will definitely be going again. There is so much more I want to try!
Kayla Traver
I had a very large take out order to place for my office. We ended up calling the night before to work out the details and Donna helped us out so much. Everything was correct, really well packed and right on time. To top it all off the food itself was amazing. Thank you all so much for being so helpful and accommodating we’ll definitely be ordering again!
Ezekiel Martin
Went here for the rehearsal dinner for my cousin's wedding. Waitstaff was friendly, space was lovely, food was delicious. The sausages were especially divine, can't recommend enough.
Lillian Villemarette
BBQ pulled pork nachos and the spoon bread are my 2 favorites
Mark Bergman
Found this place by a recommendation from the local UPS guy. When we travel we always try the local BBQ. This place is high quality BBQ. My wife and I each tried the 2 meat items. Brisket, ribs, pulled pork and burnt ends are all award worthy. Side dishes are also great. If you really like BBQ, make this a stop.
John Dorian
Food and service was amazing! Burnt ends and cowboy candy (pork belly bites) are melt in your mouth delicious. Alcohol is WAY overpriced but other than that it's outstanding!
Joel Dillon
Fantastic BBQ, brisket burnt ends are the best!!!! Brussel sprouts are spot on, a must try!
Stephen Keighery
We come here regularly. The food is great and so is the relaxed atmosphere. Great for a long lunch. You won't go wrong with any item on the menu but make sure you try the Hogs for a Cause Wings
Slade Neeley
Delicious! We had ribs, pulled pork, brisket, turkey, and smoked chicken wings (surprisingly one of our favorites). The quality in the meat and sides was great. We were a little sad we missed the burnt ends (as the Mrs said it is to be expected because you don't want to have a lot of leftovers). It was a delightful atmosphere and the service was good. I loved the pickles and brussel sprouts (wanted to try so much more). The family enjoyed the mac and cheese, but it wasn't very creamy as some might expect. Drinks were good (margaritas).
Jared Lyons
Wow! The food was awesome. I had the 2 meat plate with burn ends and pulled pork, my sides were fried Brussels (good) and chili made with chunks of brisket (really, really good). The beer options were plentiful and the server was great. The restaurant and outside area are well planned, super clean and hip. The neighborhood is transitioning, but parking was fenced and secure. My only complaint is the cost... $45 for 2 people to eat lunch w/ out beer or drinks. I was close to $65 with 3 beers and tip.
Michael Gerhold
The absolute best BBQ in New Orleans or almost anyplace else. The spare ribs are the absolute best that I've ever tasted they were flavor for moist and so tender I wonder how they stayed on the bone when I picked it up. The burnt ends brisket was spectacular well seasoned very crispy at the burnt part of it and very moist for the rest of it The rub was clearly tasty and we'll seasoned. To put it simply, you have to go to the best BBQ in Texas to even come close
Tim B.
I love great traditional barbecue, and, to me, that comes down to brisket and pork butt, so that's what I'll comment on. Others have discussed the facility, atmosphere, and price, all of which I found to be good. The staff was particularly friendly.
The pulled pork shoulder was outstanding. Very smoky in the Carolina/Georgia style, and very moist with the perfect amount of bark and fat mixed in with the meat. The brisket, however, was a disappointment. My serving came from the flat or lean section of the brisket, which is a challenge to get right. It was dry and had absolutely no fat content, and very little smokiness.
The available sauces, of which little is needed on great barbecue, were very tasty and true to style, especially the vinegar/salt/pepper version for the pulled pork. Side dishes are often a disappointment, even in good BBQ joints, but the sides I tried here (mac and cheese and slaw) were amongst the best I've ever had, and my travels have taken me across Texas and through the carolinas and Georgia.
Tifany Lindeman
Best ribs I have ever had and I am a southern girl! We got ribs, wings (also fantastic!!), pulled pork and chopped brisket. It was all phenomenal! I loved the ribs and the wings and the pulled pork was a close second. We will definitely be stopping by here if we are ever back in NOLA
Vinny Rousseau (nicho)
Been there twice.... and both times the food has been on point. Burnt tips are my favorite, but the brisket chilli and the brisket are absolutely amazing; chicken wings are OK, I’m just not a fan of grilled wings. The staff is very friendly and polite. I come to NOLA, every other week for business and I definitely make it a mandatory stop for lunch.
George Griffin
This is the best BBQ I have had in New Orleans, what they do they do extremely well. The spicy pickles taste like my grandmothers home made ones and that was a nice surprise. The potato salad taste like it has the same pickles in them and is made with mustard so I loved it. The only reason I don't give 5 stars is the price, while this is good BBQ it isn't Texas good, and I don't pay near that much for it even in Austin, I might expect to pay that much for it in the French Quarter but as far removed as this place is I can't see it and because of that I won't be back.
todd keller
First time.....and it lived up the hype and then some. Ribs and sauces are stellar. Great smoke and fall of the bone tender. The sausage is crazy lean and hearty. Don't sleep on the Brussel sprouts as a side. Outdoor seating was right on time too for the social distancing......
Adrian Lazos
Amazing bbq in New Orleans. Food was great. The jalapeño cheddar sausage was great. I also bought two t-shirts and a hat that look cool. Would definitely go back.
S. Antoni-Sparks
This place is good for quick bbq. I would say it is on par with everyday lunch fare.
The pulled pork was smoked well and tasted great - points on this. Corn pudding was fine. The sausage was fairly flavorless, unfortunately, and is why I rated 4/5. For a meat joint, I really expect every meat to be flavorful.
We were not fans of the bbq - not to say it was bad because it wasnt. We got the spicy bbq sauce and it tasted incredibly sweet. This is really how bbq is in this area. If youre not local, heads up.
Jeremy Howard
Absolutely the best BBQ in New Orleans! Every item we've ordered from here is amazing. The only item I would change is the baked beans, other than that this is absolute perfection and the wait time is bare minimum. You'll be enjoying your food almost as soon as you order and sit down for a minute or two. I'm a fan for life! Keep up the amazing work!
Chris Barrs
Brisket was pretty good. Sausage was dry but ok. Sides were pretty good. I remember when bbq was cheap but I get it.
Colleen Stanley
Fast and friendly service. Staff relay helpful at explaining menu items.
Kitchen offered a free sample of the boutin to help us understand what is was.
Lee Sucherman
Consistently good BBQ. Open, airy indoor table seating. Easy, free parking. From the meats to the sides and the assortment of sauces, this place is worth a visit.
Tamika Dukes
The bartender seemed really nice and friendly. The food was about an 8 out of 10, in my opinion. Some of the staff in the kitchen could really use some customer service skills. A friend and I walked up to the counter and it took them forever to come to the counter, as 3 or 4 them glanced at us several times. When they brought the food to the table they seemed unfriendly. I would say they carried out their job but you certainly could be more friendly to people. As I observe them I noticed they were that way with everyone. Maybe I'll try coming back here in the future.
Charlie Sharitz
So so good. The ribs were some of the best I ever had- they needed no sauce and totally fell off the bone. The pulled pork was very good also, especially with their sweet sauce. Both orders hit our table before I even had a chance to get one of their draft beers from the bar. A robust selection of local beers makes this an even better place to visit if you are passing through NOLA!
Megan Flanagan
Yum yum yum
I mean you gotta try it!!!
Creole slaw is LEGIT
Ted Wozniak
Excellent BBQ. I'm from Texas and have high standards for BBQ. Ribs and wings were tasty. My only "complaint" might be that the brisket was sliced thicker than I like. But it was still tender so not a big deal.
jennifer mancone
This place is amazing. Go there now! We ordered the pulled pork and brisket, both were cooked to perfection. Try the white sauce. The corn stuffing was the best of the sides, baked beans were delicious, slaw and bacon mac were also good. Five stars!
Lynne Coleman
This place never disappoints. The staff.. always great, food delicious, fast and nice atmosphere. My family and I love CC BBQ.
CV LAWN KING
Amazing food! Some of the best I've had!
Christina C
Love the spin on the fries at this place, the BBQ is good and meh sometimes. I really like the wings and the spicy sauce together. Sometimes my wings give off a rubbery texture which is confusing because they are supposed to be smoked and then fried. The girls at the front are usually nice and interactive. The restaurant itself gives a funky diner dive feel. They also sell merch at this spot that's pretty dope.
Savannah Lloyd
I’m here at least once a week for trivia night, & sometimes twice a week during football season to watch the Saints game! The food itself is good, though a little inconsistent from week to week (never bad! Just sometimes better than others, a thing you only notice by eating there all the time). The staff is friendly & remembers my whole family’s order every week. Honestly, we keep coming back for the trivia though. We’ve tried various trivia nights at places all over town, and this is by far our favorite!
Aaron Hanz
Very satisfactory and decently clean. I decided to get the 3 meat combo plate. The meats were well cooked (personally I prefer my brisket a bit moister). I chose brisket, chicken and sausage, all of which I enjoyed. The side I chose were mac and cheese plus the crispy brussel sprouts. The sides were wonderful. On my way to my table I noticed I grabbed the last fork from the bin and didn't see any knives. There is no reason I wouldn't go back...
Patrick Roberts
Do yourself a favor and don't eat for a week. After that week head over to Central City BBQ and fill every orifice in your body with everything on the menu. This food is so incredible, the word incredible doesn't begin to describe how incredible it is. The ribs literally fall off the bone. The meat is so perfectly cooked and spiced that you won't need sauce. But if you do go for the sauce your tastebuds will pass out due to flavor overload. I can't say enough good things about this place. Go! Go now! Right now!
Frank Ricks
Lots of seating with a very nice open atmosphere...and great food!
Amanda Kadinger
Great brisket, outstanding spoonbread- but the real star here is the brisket chili! An absolute must every time we visit!
The prices are getting kind of out of control though. They were fairly priced at a point but I think they're charging for the hype at this point. IMHO, there are other great BBQ joints in the city offering food that is just as good, if not better, at a better price point.
Chad
Rates at the top of all BBQ I've had. Excellent brisket, look forward to trying the rest
Carrie Ann Wiebelt
Delicious bbq. Big portions.
Aaron Putnam
I've been here several times. And short of making the bbq at home yourself you won't find a lot better. Good brisket is hard to find, and while it doesn't beat the brisket I've had in Texas it's the best we have by far around these parts.
The staff has always been super friendly and helpful if you need anything. And don't forget the sides have all been great. So come on down!
Anna Pinalez
This joint had some good BBQ! The brisket, ribs and sausage were very good as was the mac n cheese! Would go again!
J. Dean
Went to an event at CC BBQ and it was great. The event space was well laid out and despite the final four crowd at the Bar, the area was quite and family friendly. There was a nice outdoor deck as well. The food was delicious and the staff was helpful. Bravo
Jamal Granderson
The Smoked Wings for Happy Hour and the $1 Miller High Life Pony is my go to. The wings are delicious and spectacular. Choose your own sauce, you can't go wrong. The atmosphere is so amazing. It's great to have a BBQ joint in New Orleans.
Eric Theriot
Hands down the best barbecue in the New Orleans area. Donna and the whole staff are amazing people and genuinely take pride in what they do. I’ve worked in the food & beverage industry in New Orleans for decades. Not just smoke and mirrors This place is on top of their game.
Alanna Frick
One of my favorite bbq places in the city! They have delicious food, a great bar, and a really fun atmosphere. There's outdoor seating and lots of seating inside so it's great for a big group if you come at the right time. I highly recommend splitting the sampler. It's a lot of food, you get to taste a little bit of everything, and it's all delicious! The staff is super friendly, they have happy hour, and daily specials. Can't go wrong. It's some tasty BBQ!
laci bakalik
Went at 7pm on a friday. It wasnt full but it was pretty packed. Service was quick and friendly. I should've shown up earlier because by 7pm (they close at 9pm) most of their meats were sold out (reason for 4 stars...not their fault). My friend and I chose from a couple different sides, their award winning wings and rib tips (the last they had). It was more than enough food for 2 of us. Rib tips were great! They're served dry with sauces on the side, which is great because i can try sweet and spicy seperately. The wings were good too, wish they were crispy though (i think they were smoked). Wish i couldve tried the brisket and pulled pork. All in all, great food. Bring your appetite and show up early!
contender31
Fantastic smoked BBQ meats and sauces. Brisket and turkey are juicy, flavorful and fork tender. Be sure to try a side of crispy Brussels Sprouts, amazing flavor.
Delasta May
Good food good service great place for the family
John Navarro
Got the combo rib tips and burnt ends. They tasted good, but could use more smoke for my taste. The Mac and cheese was ok, but the potato salad was sweet, not my favorite. It was a little pricey for the portions, but that's New Orleans for you! Wouldn't stop somebody from going and I would recommend it. Maybe best in the city, but BBQ needs work here in NOLA!
Mario Cavicchi
The place when you walk in looks and smells like BBQ joint. Drew, Randy and James took care of us. We had a tour of the smoke rooms and the different types of pits used for smoking. The Port Orleans beer on tap, I just drink beer on tap, was good. I was happy it was a local brewery. We ate jalapeno nachos, smoke rib bites, and chicken wings. We all enjoyed the food. I like to eat smoked meats without any type of sauce. The flavors were there.
Danielle Harrison
So good we went back for dinner the next night. And we still talking about it home in Maryland. Best potato salad Ive had in a restaurant ever. We did miss collards and corn bread which they don't serve. But the brussel sprouts we awesome
Ashley DeMara
Food is always on point 👌
Ashley
I first ate here in 2017 and it was fantastic, I really came back for the potato salad. Idk if it was due to Covid but they had a very limited menu. So no chicken, no brisket, and no burnt ends. I ordered the rib plate with a side of potato salad. The ribs were great but the potato salad was a disappointment. Idk how best to describe it but it did not look nor taste like potato salad. It was a white-grayish, mushy, grainy, vinegar mess. The cornbread was delicious. Also they don’t have a drink menu for the bar so if you need help or suggestions for mixed drinks the bar tender is useless. Overall, I don’t think I would make this a must stop on my next visit to New Orleans. They need to go back to their old potato salad recipe and maybe I’ll reconsider.
Brian Kirby
Best BBQ in town. Had dinner their with a few work buddy's after seeing them win at a cookoff at the BBQ and Hearth expo in March. Great bunch of guys and gals that really show their passion for quality BBQ!
Robert Breaux
Really good BBQ, probably best in town. Especially loved the ribs and pork belly. Only negative was the smoked boudin, really flavorful but a bit dry. Nothing a little dunk in the vinegar BBQ sauce couldn't remedy. Speaking of the sauces! All four were fantastic!
Christopher Nugent
Went for some BBQ at Zagat's recommendation. Somewhat out of the way. Got there around happy hour, Was not disappointed. Excellent pulled pork and brisket, good drinks. Our bartender Pete was the man. Definitely worth it.
T Mot
Best BBQ in the city. Burnt ends are the best I've had. I usually don't push turkey at a bbq joint but their smoked turkey breast is amazing.
Kinzie Scott
Mediocre. Friendly smiling faces. It was served quickly but cold. Cole saw is bland and bbq beans are salty. They put bacon on top the mac and cheese without advertising that. I like the outside area.
Bells Ringing keys of knowledge of ENOCH
From out of town the food was alright but had my mouth wanted rib tips which they was sold out but will be back next month just for that and then I will give my opinion on it but service was quick the bar was lovely 😊 but the food I did had was a 8 out a ten I will be BACK next month …
Tosin Akanni
Always enjoy CC BBQ everytime I am in New Orleans. Great menu, friendly staff
Mike alll
Food is always very good here. Love all there meats. Good flavor. If I had to complain about something I'd say the price isnt on par with some other better bbq places. But that's expected with the location.
Wick P (Wick)
Maybe I went on a bad day but I was not impressed but I will be giving this place another try soon. The ribs were very salty. The brisket was good but was lacking flavor. The BBQ sauces were very good. I am not giving up on this place yet. But my first impression was not a very good one. Hopefully I just went on a off day.
Garland
Got a pound of brisket to go and paid $25! A bit high if you ask me! $19 a pound at whole foods, which is more reasonable.
Shelia Matute
invited out of town guest who were looking for a little bit of everthing, CCBBQ was perfect with the sampler platter, Gumbo, baked beans good drinks from the bar.
Ronald Inman
Food was awesome 😋. The brisket was on point
Diego Gomez
Best food I tried in New Orleans
Roxanne McNally
Food was great. Inside was spacious, easy to order.
Prince Leo
The eggrolls appetizer was crispy and flavorful. Ribs with bacon Mac and cheese was spectacular. Three different sauces... Spicy, Sweet, and Vinegar. All three were very good and liked Sweet the best. Loved it!!
kara kokser
Very expensive for BBQ to start. There are 2 different menus printed with 2 different prices for items on them and never given an itemized receipt so we weren’t sure which prices we paid for. The half chicken was good minus the breast side having no flavor of smoke, just plain chicken. The burnt tips for an extra $2 was a waste given they are fatty pieces just attempted to char on the ends. The total was $40 for two people without even getting a beverage, just cups for tap water.
We tried to eat outside but all tables had not been cleared from previous guests, even though there were plenty of employees hanging around not busy, so we cleared a table ourselves.
Overall it’s a cool atmosphere but you’re going to pay $$$ for it and I feel there is better and cheaper BBQ around nola.
Melanie Collins
Central City is REALLY good! My favorite menu item is the smoke wings with the cojita cheese! It is by far the BEST wings from a bbq restaurant I have had in NOLA. They have such a cool restaurant environment and I definitely recommend them.
Jason Ragolia
The ribs here are amazing! Great flavor and all kinds of tender! And the whole space/restaurant areas are great! Can't say enough good things about Central City BBQ😀 …
Noir Dahl
The experience was amazing‼️ Really the food is beyond exquisite! 5 stars…. tuh!! 1,000,000,000 ⭐️‘S & yes to the brisket bombs if you’re wondering ☺️☺️☺️

I thought I'd done this already and I thought I'd given it 5 stars. Ok. Fixed it. Now then. I like this place. Of course, the BBQ meats are the focus and I've tried most of them. They were delicious and the servings are VERY generous. But, it's the sides that make or break a BBQ place for me. They have lots of choices and I have had about half of them. They've been consistently terrific. The Mac and cheese, the potato salad (I'm really picky about), the beans....are my personal favorites. My only unmet desire is for pulled rather than sliced smoked turkey. It's really, really really rare to ever find anywhere so I can't give these folks any grief about it. But, pulled, smoked turkey by itself and drizzled with any of their sauces (their Alabama white sauce+++ for instance) would be heavenly. And the best poboys I've ever had (I've had tons) was filled with pulled turkey...dress it however you like. Ok. Sorry. I got into another zone for a bit. This is a big place, with full bar and outdoor covered seating if you choose. Groups, f(r)amily, solo or takeout...this place is a winner!!!
Ren Boy
I HIGHLY recommend the fried brussel sprouts and the spoon bread. The "Cowboy Candy" was RAD! The staff were kind and knowledgeable. Portions were big so split a plate... trust me! Bring your wallet too $$$ lunch for 3 was $85.

Great BBQ. Being in town from MN it's great to get places that do BBQ well. Service was fantastic. Sports on all over made it a great place to meet up with friends anymore catch the game. Saw a lot of Big 10 fans so nice to see some Midwest folk in the big easy.
Bridget Montgomery
The food was nice.I love their potato salad
Ron Harmon
Amazingly good BBQ. Burnt ends are the best.
A Bro
Really good place for family. My son is not a big ribs eater but things changed while we ate here. Nice vibe and great margarita for me. Had a cup of chilli that was certainly better than mine. Will visit again
Domini Krial
Service was not awesome unless you were persistent, but it was after a Saints game. The fruits were crazy good and the pulled pork was so respectable I didn't even employ the triage of homemade sauces made available. I like foward to trying more from their menu.
Pixy Snot
OMGWTFBBQ! We had to walk through a tent city under the overpass to get to this place, the area looked sketchy, but it was worth it. If you're worried about walking, get an Uber or Lyft. Sat at the bar to eat. It wasn't crowded, presumably because it was between lunch and dinner time, so they had happy hour specials. The half chicken practically melted in my mouth it was so tender and juicy, with just the right amount of smoke to it. The sweet bbq sauce was really good (I like it sweet not spicy). I forget what my husband ordered, but he said his was good too. The bartender gal was nice. The prices were clearly listed and the menu was easy to figure out. Inside it was clean and well lit, even the bathroom facilities. And they had nice music playing, but it wasn't too loud in there to have a conversation. We would definitely eat here again next time we're in town.
Cayman Clevenger
I order the BBQ at least three times a week and it is consistently wonderful, but the last several times I’ve ordered the pork it has been inconsistent. Their hand cut french fries I would put against any fries in New Orleans. Their fatty brisket is something to write home about when it is fresh. The best BBQ in New Orleans!
Ana Castro
The places is very clean, large dining area inside and outside. Also the bar seating is large. The food is good, the rib just fall of the bone very mouth watering. They have a large selection of BBQ sauce.
Donald Mims
Great staff and service. Food served promptly from the pit
Mitch O'Reilly
I ate here several hours ago with my best friend and his wife and this review summaries our views. To caveat my review, I have lived in both Texas and Kansas City, so I've ate incredible barbecue; however, this review is not biased or shaped from this lens.
Short answer while the service is great and the atmosphere is unparalleled, the food ultimately underwhelms and very much disappoints. In my humble opinion, Saucys has far better Ribs, Pulled Pork and Chicken. The Joint has better Brisket and sides. Your better off spending your money at either location as the quality of the food is superior and both places are definitely lighter on your wallet.
I had the 3 meat combination plate consisting of pulled pork, brisket, and chicken. And because this wasn't enough meat 😜, I had a single rib on the side. My sides were the corn bread and French fries (plate came with 2 sides). The chicken was very dry and nearly impossible to discern any smoked or barbecue flavor. The rib was also dry and not nearly as moist or as flavorful as Saucys ribs. Pulled pork suffered likewise; dry, and lacking in taste and flavor. If not for the better than average barbecue sauces, I'm not sure I would have finished my meal. The brisket while much better than the other meats was average and not memorable, but in my opinion, your best option when ordering meat a la carte. The sides were very good, but unfortunately not enough of a reason to substantiate a visit onto its self.
While our local esteemed food critic has heralded CC's Barbecue arrival as a game changer for Nola's barbecue scene, I would submit to you that your wallet and stomach will walk from Saucys and The Joint far more content than spending your dollars at Central City Barbecue. While I welcome their presence and do believe the restaurant's opening and location is having a great impact on the Central City vicinity, the food has a long way to go to match its hype.
Richie Ladner
Quite simply the most tasty bbq in the city! A bit pricey but you get what you pay for!
Sharon Fleetwood
I loved it. ALL. Great service decent pricing. DELICIOUS chopped brisket and pulled pork. Great sauce. And the bbq beans like no other I have ever had. Seating variety from small intimate gatherings, single bar seating, single window seating and beucoup OUTDOOR seating. Just loved the look and feel of this place. Ya gotta go.
Lucas Paxson
Staff was very helpful and friendly. BBQ was very tasty. Cowboy Candy (pork belly) was delicious along with ribs, chicken, sausage, and brisket. Definitely will return.
Andre C
The food and service was excellent If ever in Louisiana This is a place you must stop at had a 6 piece chicken with macaroni and cheese and sweet corn spoon bread and Roy’s strawberry lemonade Absolutely marvelous
Alex White
Pulled pork and Brussel sprouts yum
Sydboy
Holy Smokes - literally! This is a place for meat enthusiasts. Diverse menu with something for everyone. Veggies even available! If keen to try everything grab the share platter, otherwise for repeat visitors you cant go past the ribs - not saucy but slow cooked overnight for off the bone perfection! Lip smacking good!
James Filtz
New Orleans is not known as a BBQ town. It is known however for its exception food and hospitality. Central city BBQ may not be much to look at from the street but it is some of the best food in all of New Orleans. The smoked wings are a life changing experience tossed in their white Alabama sauce. All other smoked meats a sublime balance of smoke, seasoning and finesse. Burnt ends to make a pork belly lover cry. Service staff led by fantastic manager JD is super attentive and always helpful. It’s shocking and disappointing that I was unprepared for how good everything here was. As “le guide Michelin” likes to say this place is worth a special trip and diversion from the main sights in Nola.
Alex Wasily
HUGE portions unlike all other bbq joints! spicy bbq sauce is the bomb.
WILLIAM BOUDREAU
Awesome place. Cool vibe you can enjoy great food and within a short walk assist local people in need. Tony the bartender does a great job and is highly knowledgeable about the area. Wife and I think a visit to central city bbq vs Nashville bbq might be needed before the new year. Awesome night and killer food and service best dinner in Nola and we ate at high end places that were also great but not true Nola feel
Jordan Jacobs
I friggin love this place, and not just cause it has the closest free parking to the superdome. The brisket is as good as any in Kansas city or Texas and the owner Stan is a great guy to talk to, very friendly and hospitable. I come here often and wish I could come even more but I would get too fat from stuffing my face with all their delicious meats.
Mark Fischer
Hands down the best BBQ in town. Great owners very friendly and just good people.
Min Han
The atmosphere is laid back and farm house like. Lots of outdoor seating. Very much of a warehouse setting. The food is flavorful and delicious. The ribs are incredible, wings are crispy and juicy and the same time.
donnie boudreaux
Some of the best bbq in the entire New Orleans area! From the homemade boudin to the burnt brisket ends and the sweet corn spoon bread, you can go wrong! This place should definitely be on everyone's to go to list. It has a great atmosphere and both indoor and outdoor seating. Great place to come hang out, drink, and eat for several hours.
Nick Hall
Great BBQ! Cowboy candy (pork belly) one of the best items to get!
Melissa Rivera
Best bbq I have ever had! I Shared the 3 meat combo with my fiancé and it was enough for the two of us. You have to try the spoon bread!
Filip Kirovski
Amazing place, probably the best ribs i have ever eaten!
Matthew Ward
The smoked boudin and chicken were delicious. Fun atmosphere too.
Wayne W
Went to Central City BBQ for the first time and was really impressed. New Orleans is know the world over for its food but good BBQ is hard to find. Central City BBQ ranks right up there with best BBQ joints we go to when visiting Houston.
Nate Cothran
This was so worth walking the mile or so from the convention center in absolutely grueling heat. Downright excellent good, cooked just right with great sauces. The place was packed on a Sunday afternoon, but we didn't have to wait long for the food. Next time I'm in NOLA I know where to go for quality BBQ.
Troy Bergeron
Amazing Food, Amazing Staff and what an incredible atmosphere!! Always polite and very accommodating!!! The owner is always there and both he and his staff go above and beyond to make your experience incredible!! Not to mention the food is AMAZING!!! 5 stars no doubt and definitely a MUST TRY in New Orleans!!!
Ed Purcell
Everybody likes a different style of BBQ. This one is heavy on vinegar. Ribs very good with the hint of vinegar. Slaw also good but a lot of vinegar, a little sugar would help. Large place with a big outdoor space used for various festivals. Give it a try and see if this is your style of BBQ
Chantal Walters
Originally was headed too voodoo bbq which was closed , grabbed a Uber driver and he told us this place was amazing !! He was soo right. The chicken ribs and cornbread is amazing . Ribs fell right off the bone and the sliced chicken was great . Highly recommend
Kathy Frught
Weathered torrential rain to eat here today and we were not disappointed! Brisket and burnt tips were fabulous! All of the sides were good with the exception of the baked beans which were undercooked (which is the reason I didn't give it 5 stars)
Dianne
Food was great. We all got different plates and none of us were disappointed with our selection. Lots of space to distance, indoors and great outdoor space too.
Dale Hanan
I'm a snob and bias towards Blue Oak BBQ. Central city has it all. Every meat you can imagine, brisket, pulled pork, wings, chicken, turkey, sausage, ribs, etc.. But central city falls short on consistency. I have had great ribs and good brisket, but the next time the brisket was dry. I suggest looking at their Instagram to see what the brisket looks like before going. If you're paying top dollar for smoked brisket, go to Blue Oak BBQ or LA23 BBQ, it's always consistently good. Blue Oak uses industrial smokers burning oak logs which helps with consistency. Central city uses Franklin BBQ style offset smokers and also brick box style smoker. I'm not sure which one they use for the brisket, but they need to figure out the consistency before I become a regular. LA23 user Stubbs style smoker and have definitely figured it out, they keep everything simple and pit out some of the best BBQ in the gulf south. Either way I'm going back to all three restaurants and will continue my BBQ eating habit!
Blake Hosli
Great BBQ. It's been a while since we have had truly good BBQ in the area. I'm sure there have been some hidden gems, but no one was polite enough to inform me if so. I guess Hillbilly BBQ in Harahan was the best for a while. This place hits the spot. Good prices, friendly staff, and a fun looking venue.
Enoc “Daniel” Mendoza
Every time we come to visit family in New Orleans, we have to eat here! You cannot go wrong with anything on the menu! Burnt-ends and Brussel Sprouts are a must!!!
Jourdain Woods
Their Wings Are Delicious And The BBQ Sauce Is Awesome I Reccomend The Brussels Sprouts As Well. FYI Be Specific When Ordering And Your Expierience With The Food And Service Should Be Great!
Neecee Jones
Good food, southern hospitality and GREAT drinks! "The Drunken Love" and that exotic, blue tropical drink.....🤪😋👌🏾 …
Sheila Thomason
The best chicken wings that I've ever had! Get them naked, you can add sauce at the table. The crunchy brussel sprouts were FANTASTIC!
Arthur Rafal
Really good brisket and pickles! Brussel sprouts and their white sauce are delicious!
Toya Stringer
What an experience!!! The staff was extremely friendly and the brisket was to die for, very tender and flavorful. The bacon mac and cheese was different but I enjoyed it. I will definitely be back!!!
Ina Lew
Very tasty, but pricey, sides too small for the money.
Melissa Wooding
Incredible food, amazing people!! The manager is a really great guy who happily shows you around and tells you all about it. Such a cool place, pay no attention to the picture currently on Google Street view, it's much nicer and being hugely renevated. Absolutely pay a visit!
Ryan Lindauer
The best BBQ in New Orleans. Period. Hard stop.
Ribs fell off the bone, brisket and pork melted in my mouth, chicken wasnt dry at all, sausage had just the right amount of spice, sprouts werent soggy, mac wasnt overly seasoned, and fries went perfectly with the meat. With sweet, spicy, and vinegar sauce options, theyve got all bases covered (unless you like mustard based sauces, in which case...shame) and the outdoor and indoor spaces are very welcoming. Recommended to all! This is the only BBQ spot I've ever been to in New Orleans that I can confidently say would survive in Houston, KC, Charlotte, or any other heavy BBQ city. Prices are slightly above market, but well worth it.
Flor Serna
I love everything about CCBBQ (great place to watch the game) EXCEPT for the fact that their brisket is dry and hard as a bone (but they claim it is only juicy if you come earlier in the day). I recommend that they learn how to keep their brisket juicy all day long and they'll become a 5 star joint.
Nazary Nebeluk
Went here for dinner with my girlfriend on a Thursday and had no trouble getting a table and there was no line to place an order. We got a dozen smoked spicy wings and the 3 meat combo w/ boudin, chopped brisket and pulled pork w/ sides of potato salad and baked beans. The wings aren't really spicy but had a tasty sauce on them and a spicier bbq (not hot) sauce was available at the table. The meats were all good but the standout is clearly the boudin. The other two don't even come close. I just wish the BBQ came out warm, or at least room temperature. Our meats were pretty much cold and I didn't care for that - maybe that's a normal BBQ thing and I'm just the odd man out. From the bar I got their take on an Arnold Palmer with whiskey and then an Envie from Parish (whenever it's on tap I get it).
Overall the staff was friendly and the space is super nice and open and clean. I don't know if this is the first place I'll go to next time I'm craving BBQ but it's definitely where I'll go for my boudin cravings. And maybe for a happy hour beer with some wings.
Lagniappe - I'm not a sports guy but they were showing the Saints game when I was there. So if you need a place to watch the game you could do a LOT worse then here.
Eduardo Jimenez
Side dishes were delicious. Pulled pork was lean and good. Too much fat on the brisket and not very tender. Expensive for the amount of food served.
Loren Lampson
Have eaten here twice now. Great options for variety of meat choices, sides are great. Everything is cooked and seasoned well.
Great prices and service!
Big space is available for rent, there is also and outdoor patio area.
Harry Morse
I came here for lunch and ate yesterday's brisket, and yesterday's pork. But I paid full freight for them. And they messed up the order. I'm sure it's good when it's fresh but reheated bbq for these kind of prices is not ok.
Harlan Victor
Amazing BBQ. Brisket is tender and food is well seasoned and fresh!
Kenneth Rubenstein
Always great. Ribs fall off the bone, pork is sweet and tender!!
Racheal Lagrange
Love it! Spoonbread is a must, brussel sprouts were gross but maybe they're just not for me. Pulled pork sandwich is my favorite. Fast service too!
Kyle Campbell
Delicious and great service!
Bradley Pierson
Been here several times and have loved everything every time. Just discovered the meat pie which is ridiculous. The burnt ends could not be better, well except when you combine them with spoonbread - whatever buttery goodness that is. Highly recommend!
Trenton Gauthier
Currently, these guys are the most important bbq joint in the scene. Yes, the joint is fantastically consistent and those in the know still miss chef scott and mcclure's first location... but these guys are the ones really pushing New Orleans style BBQ forward at present. So, if you're like me, this is the spot you want to go to. I know one of the owners so feel free to disregard my opinion.
David Silva
If you get anything other than the cheese fries and the ribs, then you are doing your taste buds a disservice. You must come back on another day when you decide to behave properly and have the meal that your taste buds deserve.
Wayne Imbornone
I really like this place. They pickle their own pickles and onions. The ribs fall off the bone and do not even need sauce - but their sauces are fantastic, especially the vinegar bbq sauce.
Nate Rainey
I've only ever been here working for DoorDash, and even just that experience has been awesome. I might go there now, actually. I ain't doing nothing else today.
Valerie Bouldin
This is definitely where my Thanksgiving turkey is coming from.
BigPapaChef
Highly recommend! Very good BBQ!
Meghan Martin
Great local place to get some yummy bbq! Prices are average. Service is VERY fast. Employees are personable and helpful. Full service bar. 4 bbq sauces made in house. Definitely worth a visit!
What to try: Burnt Ends, Spoonbread (sweet cornbread with real corn bits), Boudin
What to skip: mac n cheese (kinda dry)
JC H
Not only is this a local favorite of ours because of its unbelievably delicious BBQ (best in the city IMO) and local taps, it is also where we had our wedding reception.
The staff here is top notch and literally NO ONE is better than Donna. She was running all of the events here and I recently found out she is the new GM. Yay!
Donna made the process leading up to the big day such a breeze and was so quick to respond I felt so at ease. We were having a lot of trouble finding a venue in New Orleans mostly because so many of the locations hardly even returned our phone calls. It was Donna’s attentiveness that initially sold us on CCBBQ, and it turns out we could not have made a better choice. On the day of she made sure everything was perfect and even brought her own personal computer for us to use to play 2 different movies. The venue, the food, the staff and the vibe of this place is unparalleled. Everyone at our wedding said it was the best reception they had ever been to and we 100% attribute that to Donna and her team and the amazing chefs they have cooking up the goodies. Don’t sleep on this place for lunch, dinner, or events!
P.s. ask for the white bbq sauce....you’re welcome.
oxpatchreb
Outstanding BBQ. These guys are getting it right. Ribs were tender and juicy, burnt ends were tasty and smoky, sides were top notch too. I'll be returning for sure, with as many friends as possible.
Jason Kocsis
Service was good, and the food really good except for the burnt ends, just did not meet the standard. The 4 stars instead of 5 is the price, much too pricey for bbq food.
Drachious
Great place great food clean and laid back atmosphere
Bradley
Everything was overall pretty good, especially the baudin, the thing that kills this place is the lack of any good sauces, but I guess all barbecue in New Orleans tastes second best once you've had LA Smokehouse
Joe Wilkins
Outstanding BBQ. The burnt ends are amazing but the show stoppers are the pork belly and smoked boudin. No sauce needed. I will be back!
Nakesha Morris
Everything was wonderful!!! The service, the food, and the atmosphere!!! We had the smoked rib plate and it was sooo good!!! I highly recommend this place when u cme to New Orleans!!!
Tim Nugent
Great meal. I ordered online and the food was ready when I arrived. Large portions, may have been the best beans I’ve eaten.
L S
I'll try the beef ribs were OK, means COLD We going to keep eating the pork ribs... BEANS are 2 sweet take the some SUGAR OFF and put some🍖🐷 for fix the flavor. …
Nicholas Volkmar
Best BBQ in NOLA - all of the meats and sides were on point. My girlfriend is from STL and she incessantly complains about the BBQ here but this even pleased her. I'm not a big potato salad person but it wasn't too heavy the remoulade addition made it delicious and special. I cannot wait to return!
Chris Watson
The portion size is not consistent.. for example get varying amounts of smoked sausage...also the brisket is always out...other than that the food is delicious
adolph wilson
We had our family reunion lunch we had bacrue food.
Yolanda Hughes
I love their fall off the bone...excellent smoke tasting ribs..sweet corn spoonbread was delicious. Today was good. Thank you
Gary Forward
I thought La23 BBQ had the best brisket till today. Very moist and not overly smoked. You k ow it is good when you don't have to use bbq sauce.
D Arso-Frison
Amazing BBQ
You don't want to miss this spot.
The 504 combo is worth the money
It is suggested to feed 4 but I think more.
The ribs did not need any sauce and it fell off the BONE (literally) amazing.
The brisket, chicken was good and tender.
The beef tips was on point (I used the sweet BBQ sauce on these)
They also add some bread and pickles (which seems in house made (they were fresh) and onions.
Our sides was delicious as well my favorite was the cornbread. My kids love the Mac and cheese topped with bacon we all ate the beans (a little to vinegary for my taste but they enjoyed it) and my husband had thr potato salad.
Drinks to top it off-some good ol' sweet tea mixed with their strawberry lemonade it was perfect.
And did I mention lighting fast service.
The outside atmosphere was hot but nice under the fans. It appears to be a stage out there where they may host events. Ample seating.
And I must say very very clean bathrooms.
Maria was an excellent help as it was my first time there and an awesome host.
It was a pretty easy drive and find-they sit on the corner.
Again a great down south bbq treat for your taste buds.
LaTanya Valdery
3rd time eating here, smoke house wings are the best wings I've ever had. Tried for the first time, pork egg rolls, did not care for that at all.
Jaelene Cumba
Good food. Nice location. Friendly staff.
Greg Chauffe
The bbq was very tasty , but was dissatisfied with the amount of food for the price 16.00 for a brisket plate that had only 4 pieces on it
Asked about it was told they go by weightt 7 ounces. same cause the food was great.
Robin Woodall
The food was exceptional and the service was great. Our food was out to us quickly. The gal taking our order was adorable and very helpful. I would highly recommend this place.
Ashton Melchert
WOW! This was the best meal I ate while in New Orleans for a week! Full of flavor, hot, fresh and delicious! A little pricey for lunch, but I was full & satisfied!
Paul Augustin
Superbly smoked meat! The sides were just OK, but the brisket and the sausage were first class. The sauces were very good. I am going back again, to be sure.
Rico Belled
Attended the Crawfish Fest here, which happens on the Mon/Tues/Wed between the two weekends of Jazzfest. Had an AMAZING time, the music was stellar (George Porter Jr., Ivan Neville, Ian Neville, John Cleary and best of all Big D. on the guitar) and the "2-3 lbs. of hot boiled crawfish" that came with my ticket were delicious. The next day I had a portion of rib tips that were fingerlicking good. Great staff and seeing the enormous cookers preparing those delicious little crawdads and the incredible room of king size smokers made it all that much better.
Nathalie Collins
The food is tasty, always tender meats, quick service, polite & helpful servers. THE FOOD IS WORTH THE PRICES!!! I personally love da half of smoked chicken & their white sauce 👍👍👍👍👍 …
Andrea Wall
The St. Louis style ribs fell off the bones and were delicious. I would love the recipe for the crispy brussel sprouts.
Allison Arrigoni
Awesome BBQ and a great atmosphere to watch the Saints game!
destinynelson241
My food was not hot as if it just came off the grill or something...I do not like the cornbread mash!! The meats were real tender and flavorful. The ribs are my favorite!
Adrianne Dias
Visited here the last few times I visited New Orleans. I've tried a few different BBQ places in the city and this is my favorite thus far.
Robert Lawyer
it was the bomb I had five different kinds of meat I smoke these Meats by self and I was quite impressed and I got there close to closing time the side dishes are to-die-for also a must-see place you will enjoy it as much as I did
sarah dayringer
AMAZING food, GREAT atmosphere!
Cary Hill
Best BBQ I have found in New Orleans. Hands down. I'll put their brisket up against anyone's! Great atmosphere!
Kris Knight
Great team of people delivering fantastic barbecue with New Orleans style. The brussel sprouts are addicting and the brisket and burnt ends are on point!
Joshua Meadows
Great service and the beers were 1st class local ones. Did not eat there. Met up with a fellow Marine who I have not seen in 12 years.
Gary Larks
This place needs to be shut down for being so good. The sweet corn is a desert and a side dish. The burnt ends leave most people speechless. The BBQ sauce (spicy), I wish it was thicker.
ullrich darensbourg
Came for 2018 NFL DRAFT PARTY. Very very good. Good bbq buffet. First time with spoon bread. Had fun. Will be back.
Micah Martello
Outstanding BBQ. Friendly service. SIDES! Most bbq places slack on the sides but everything was house made and delicious. Ribs were perfect. Reasonable drink prices and great bar service.
Meagan Froeba
Everything was delicious. Kinda expensive but the food is worth it. Restaurant also had a great atmosphere. Definitely hope to return.
Tom McGee
Good bbq, had brisket and pulled pork and both were cooked to perfection. Also like they give you choice of sauce on the table.
Camille Victoria DeCoursey
A fantastic bbq joint! Every meal is perfect (spoonbread ALWAYS a must) and the dining layout is great. 6 n 6 wings is my go to comfort meal.
Matthew Reasor
I’m from Texas and I know BBQ. I was very pleasantly surprised. This place was awesome. The best BBQ I’ve had ever has outside of Texas hands down.
Veronica Allen
Great food! Stumbled upon this place during a stay with my niece & loved the food. The service is quick.
Trent Dang
At the top of the Nola bbq game understanding that Nola bbq is nowhere near the level of kc, TX, Carolina bbq. If you're in Nola and are dying for bbq, you can't go wrong as long as you realize this ain't a BBQ town.
Kimberly P
I've tried the boudin, chicken, ribs, and pulled pork and they're all delicious. The honeysuckle lemonade is tasty too! Clean environment.
Francine Hampton
Meats are good, sides are not, just my opinion but will return.
Michael Cohn
May be the best barbeque in town. The brisket is certainly the best in town. The main dining area gets very loud and they do have off street parking.
Barica Reeder
Food and services is great. When my husband and I found this place we were happy to find a place that have great food and great service. Thank you guys for real bbq👍👍👍👍👍👍 …
Jeanne Eddington
1st time here. Good food.
Jye Turk
Having lived in Austin for 7 years before visiting, I was skeptical. After trying their food, I was blown away. The ribs are the magic here. However, the sides are on another level. 10/10 food.
Erik Duncan
Fantastic BBQ! We got the brisket, ribs, and the burnt ends.
Thomas Garic
This space is something NOLA needs. Amazingly awesome location with an endless future. The full size propane tanks that were converted into smokers was an ingenious idea to draw in the atmosphere bring a new light to this neighborhood.
Trucker T
Barbecue was fantastic plenty of parking my only problem was the mac and cheese was kind of dry but I can excuse that cuz the brisket and the ribs and especially the sausage makes up for it I love the parking spots you can eat right outside especially watching my car not comfortable parking my $90,000 Tesla in a unfamiliar neighborhood
KYOTA K.
Very friendly staff and tasty BBQ!
Ed Stresow
Amazing BBQ place food was very good service was very good. Highly recommend.
Kitsune NOLA
Visited this place last week and the bbq was delicious. I ordered the three meat platter with burnt ends, ribs and smoked sausage. ohh and I cant forget about the mac n' cheese, it was to die for.
Kevin
This place has been absolutely spectacular every single time i've ordered. Always consistent and always delicious. Easily one of my fav places.
nakeil68
Everything was delicious and the service was very fast.
Steve Sargent
Laid back, friendly staff. Good food, low key. Had the pulled pork sandwich, with Cajun slaw and sweet corn spoon spread. Tasty tasty.
Juan LaFonta
It was some of the best bbq I have ever had...the sides were wonderful...smoke Turkey melts in your mouth and the potato salad and cornbread dressing to die for
..look I'm old school I dont dat everyone's potato salad but their potato salad I'm serving at Thanksgiving dinner!!
Andre Bosch
This is a great spot. BBQ is solid, drinks are delicious, layout is great
Pam Burke
Best damn BBQ in New Orleans. Expensive as hell, but soooooo Gooooood. I will be back. Other con flies around when eating. Also in the Phythian, i would love it if they offered ribs there.
Debra Freyer
A lot of bang for your buck 👏 👌
Got that
Very good BBQ! Definitely would come back! Had the burnt ends and sausage and Mac and cheese and potato salad... All very tasty!
Ron Mcguire
I tried it for the first time so all I got was the pulled pork sandwich because that's how I rate good barbecue is by the pool for tomorrow I'm going to get the ribs but the pulled pork was Second To None who some of the best pulled pork I have ever eaten in my life in the staff is wonderful
Freddie Cancienne
Very nice atmosphere and good portions, big selection of smoked meats and delicious sides.
sarah stewart
Pork balls were amazing! Everything was delicious. Great service!
David Seward
I try to go here every time I visit new Orleans. great portion size wonderful taste.
darance hayes
Awesome happy hour. Al, Kylie and Stan treated us great. can't wait to have the beef ribs on Saturday.
McNally S
The smoked wings are phenomenal! I’ve had them many times and they never disappoint. Definitely worth the trip!
RJ Ireland
Really good food. All cooked slow and presented in a rustic come as you are vibe. Fully stocked bar and daily specials makes this place a must visit.
Ray Foy
Absolutely fantastic. Pull pork sandwich with sweet BBQ sauce, mac & cheese and beans most excellent!
Erin Graham
The best bbq in the city. Cowboy candy was delicious. Great atmosphere. Loved the jazz music being played.

Best BBQ in New Orleans hands down. Try the burnt ends with the brisket chili and sweet spoon bread as sides. You won't be disappointed.

The atmosephere here is "Phunky" it has a little this and some of that all over the walls to look at. But the food is out of this world !!!!
The cowboy candy and baked beans are not to me missed !!! Sit at the bar and enjoy a drink with the friendly bartenders (Yes mutiple) you will have a good time in the heart of the city.

Some of the best barbecue I've had in a long time. I especially loved the white barbecue sauce!

Good solid bbq joint. Easy parking even being in central city. Burnt ends are great when available. Dont miss the banana pudding.

The best bbq I've had here in New Orleans. Pulled pork done right and fantastic sides. House made limeade was excellent.
