Reviews of Cafe Degas
Ms. Tran
Cozy, open air, country-style French bistro with good food, great service and nice ambiance that is pretentious by any means. The place has been around for 35 years and is located in a mostly residential neighborhood. It was a great find!
All dishes were excellent with the exception of the French onion soup, which was not cooked until the onions caramelized, so it lacked richness.
Our server was the perfect amount of attentive and knowledgeable without ever hovering.
Ashley Payne
The service was fantastic. I love that they are one of few places that remains open later. Our server was welcoming and made a wonderful wine recommendation. The food was delicious, from the shrimp appetizer to the merengue dessert. My only critique is that my filet was slightly over cooked. I asked for medium and received almost well done. Other than that, I would return again.

My favorite French restaurant in New Orleans. My parents have dined here for years. Cozy and traditional French atmosphere with beautiful outside seating. I’ll definitely be returning. The escargot, French onion soup, duck crêpes were my favorite.

This small cafe is whimsically designed with nature in mind. The atmosphere was relaxing and experiential. The food was great. I recommend the ravioli with crawfish. The sauce alone was worth it. We also loved the fries which were fried in duck fat and so delicious! The wait staff was fun and helpful for recommendations on cocktails and specials. We really enjoyed our experience.
Daniel Archer
Had a great dinner here tonight with my wife and daughter. The muscles and especially the fennel broth were amazing. The frites were soso.. the salads and cheese plate was good. Great location with lots of outdoor seating.
Tiffany Bowles
WONDERFULLY ECLECTIC LOCATION highlighting phenomenal traditional french foodie flavors! Our kids loved the escargot and quail. Family friendly afternoons; romantic date night hot spot. Cafe Degas is a favorite with locals, and great follow-up luncheon conversation stop just down the street from its historical namesake, the Degas house (& other major tourist stops as well).

My husband and I ended up here by accident for our anniversary dinner and I'm so glad we did! The service was great and the food amazing. We started with the cheese board, which was great. For entrees, I had the sheepshead and my husband had the lamb. I would highly recommend both dishes.

Such a lovely little place! You almost feel like you're in a treehouse when you go in there and there is incredible outside seating as well. The menu was giving me very French vibes and I had a big bowl of delicious muscles and was very happy with the ambience and the food and the service and of course the company! I didn't make a point to use the restroom but I'm sure it was great lol This place is off Esplanade so there was a good amount of parking to be had and I would definitely go back! Such a gem of a spot

Dinner and a show; Our experience at Cafe Degas will be memorable for a multitude of reasons. The cafe is set in a dreamy historical building transporting you back to the early 19th century. I wish we could say that was where the antiquatedness ended. When we were standing by the hostess stand we first encountered the manager berating one of the servers quite gruffly, and minutes after we were sat at our table we heard a loud commotion from inside the restaurant. The manager Jason and a female server screaming at one another, I heard the man loudly say he wanted to slap her multiple times. The saving grace during our meal was our server Kenzie, she promptly came to our table, trying to save our experience offering us a complimentary dessert. She really went above and beyond during the continuation of our dinner, finding creative substitutes for our pescatarian diet, wonderful drink suggestions etc. It was honestly food wise one of our best meals in New Orleans, we even returned back from brunch to see Kenzie but I have to say I am worried for the staff that has to work under such dire conditions. It’s 2022, let’s work on how we treat one another

Stumbled upon this hidden gem in a quiet neighborhood after disappointed by so many touristy restaurants in the French quarter and CBD. The crawfish ravioli was to die for, and the mussels were really fresh and tender. Probably the best meal we had in NOLA. Better yet, they have $5 bubbly and mimosa!

We had a family dinner at Cafe Degas on Sunday and had the most wonderful experience. The food was absolutely delicious.
and every dish was enjoyed around the table.
The escargots, the ravioli and the onion soup were particularly excellent. We also enjoyed the classic French desserts.
Our waiter Bryce worked really hard to ensure we had a great time which as a group of 14 diners was most likely not the easiest of tasks. Thank you Cafe Degas for a lovely evening!
John Page
Wonderful unassuming French Restaurant in Bayou St. John. Good service and grat food with beautiful outdoor dining available. It's all about the sauce (being a French restaurant)

This is our favorite NOLA restaurant and all have been excellent. We sat outside in the evening, so pleasant. Our meal was top notch, beginning to end. Appetizers were French onion soup and escargot, both amazing. Escargot were super tender, garlicky and buttery. I had the pork chop which our waiter recommended. That was the best chop I've ever had. Cooked to perfection, thick juicy and tender, not at all dry. My partner had the rack of lamb, also outstanding. We shared the banana pistachio cake. So delicious. This restaurant is a bit out of the way, but easy to get to on the 91 bus. And it's worth the trouble. It's close to City Park and the art museum.

I had a lovely experience here the other evening! They have indoor and outdoor seating. I didn’t get much of a view of the indoor option, as I sat outside, but I’m sure it was great as well.
I had the duck confit and sausage with root vegetables. It was terrific. We also ordered escargot for the table, which we loved. Everyone also has a bite of the butternut squash soup; that was the real star of the show! I also have a great sazerac.
The waiter was friendly, professional and knowledgeable. The food came quickly, and service was attentive the entire time we were there.

One of our favorites which we always recommend to guests. This part of Esplanade is so pretty at night with all the sparkling lights and a table overlooking the street is perfect for people watching and enjoying the beauty of Esplanade while eating delicious food. Lunches are perfect here too, especially when the weather is nice. The fried oysters on a salad are my favorite when available and there are lunchtime specials on the bubbly at the end of the week.

The ambiance was amazing, and the food was delicious. Our server was super nice and very accommodating. We tried a lot of different dishes between us all, and they were all fantastic.I definitely recommend this cafe if you like Degas or great food.
Beck Wofford
Nice scenery, seemed to have quite the reputation, and an small area that can sometimes be overcrowded. Food was nothing to brag about, was told my Yellowfin tuna salad was “amazing,” but was very fishy tasting and did not have much flavor. The party I was with seemed to share the same views about my dish, but they said theirs were a little better. Was a little on the expensive side as well, and for my small salad, I was not impressed. Try something else on the menu or save some money and over-impressions by going elsewhere.

We came here for a more upscale dinner on our New Orleans vacation. It wasn't what we expected, but it was a great experience. I don't recommend the onion soup but the Chambord Cake was absolutely amazing. Also the fish was tender and delicious.
Liz Robles
Fantastic everything! Delicious and elevated brunch fair. Spectacular service. Cute outdoor setup with lights, umbrellas and greenery. Friendly staff and informative server! (Only reason I'm rating a 4 vice 5 is because unfortunately, what appeared to be their restaurant ash tray was near our table outside so we succumbed to the smell of cigarettes everytime someone put one out.)
Jacob Padgett
Greatly enjoyed brunch here today. Food was excellent and the service was top notch. Charming little dining area reminded me of places in the Keys. Quiche was excellent, as was the ravioli and Niçoise salad. And the fries are delicious.
Thomas Morgan
Somehow I forgot to take photos of the food, but that's because I was enjoying the experience so much. Set on a corner a triangle shaped building, it's known for its ambience with it's garden-like dining room setting. Some great nonalcoholic beverages for non drinkers, plus a decent selection of wines, including a Sancerre which went very well with the seafood centric menu.
We tried a little of everything, but the winners were the flash fried oyster salad entree, with lots of crispy fried oysters served on a bed of spinach and arugula,; the tanginess of the dressing complimenting the rich, savory crunch of the oysters. The other winner was the baked Alaska! Rare for a restaurant of this size! My dad didn't want to share!
Erika
Love the atmosphere. Waiter was super nice although he did mess up the order a tiny smidge. Forgot to snag some pics of our entrees but have some pics of the apps we got. Food was tasty. Would go back to try some of their other dishes.
terry bassett
Takes a while to eat, but you're there for the dining experience..so relax.. they got the appetizers mixed up, but corrected this. Always love going here. Chocolate dessert was a little disappointing. We didn't eat, but they credited it back.
Allison Juge
I have been going to Cafe Degas for many years, they have homemade foie gras and the best French onion soup in the city. This particular evening was a 5 course dinner with 5 flights of champagne. The amuse bouche was the pate de foie gras with fig compote and microgreens, the Beef Wellington was perfectly cooked and delicious. The champagnes were wonderful. I could go there weekly and just sit at the bar with a cup of soup and a glass of red wine and be very happy. I love the atmosphere, landscape and vibe. Highly recommend.
Alan Chenkin
Cafe Degas has a wonderful French feel (Edith Piaf was singing la vie en rose when we walked in). The mussels, the French Onion soup, and the soft shell crabs were exceptional. The kitchen was very accommodating when I requested "as little salt as possible".
The restaurant is handicapped accessible with a ramp and attentive staff.
The wine list was nice, and the servers suggestions were spot on.
All the food was prepared fresh and served at the same time. Nicely done.
Travis Light-Harris
Overall a great meal, no low points, and great service. Need to come back with more people to try more things. Everything is shareable and well seasoned.
Adele Tiblier
No bad choices at this cafe with inspired French dishes. Also, be sure to pop in on a Thursday night for big discounts on bottles of wine.
Caroline Hamric
An ideal Sunday brunch spot. The Bellini and Sazerac we're great, and we ordered the eggs Sardou special which was excellent. Service is great, the patio was pleasant and the price point was just right.
JeAnne Swinley
This place is charming, romantic, upscale French fare in a laid back casual bistro atmosphere. I loved the kitch, the relaxed vibe of the dinner... There was no rush to turn over tables or get through a meal.
The restaurant is more like a home and even inside, you feel like you are outside on a big wrapped porch.
The food was superb.. From the pate, to the Brussels, lardon and stilton, the hangar steak to the moules et frites. All delicious and perfectly prepared.
I'm not sure why I've waited so long to come, I certainly won't to return!
Guide to NOLA
Cafe Degas is truly a French restaurant experience. Outdoor cafe-style seating, French cuisine, and exceptional service make for a great dining experience. It is probably not for everyone, and if you’re seeking a fine dining experience you may be disappointed. If you’re looking for an upscale French cafe you’ll love it! We tried the veal and hangar steak, and both were cooked perfectly, and seasoned well. No, it’s not Cajun and creole cooking, so don’t expect those flavors - it is traditional French cooking, and they do an excellent job. Just remember it is called Cafe Degas, and expect French cuisine and great service, and you will thoroughly enjoy this restaurant. Go expecting a lavish dining room and Cajun/Creole and you may be disappointed. Tip: Great date spot, not a particularly great place to bring the children.
Mike Chicago
This is a tough one.
I had a good time here, but because of another group we met.
It's a great little building, on a cool street. It was after Jazz Fest, so Esplanade was packed and so was the Cafe.
We waited at the small bar and after 20 minutes or so, some folks filtered out and got a great table outside, and people we talked with at the bar got the table next to us.
The staff was friendly, but I think because of the jazz fest crowd, they were a looking forward to close. Don't get me wrong, they were polite and friendly, just kept forgetting stuff.
THE FOOD:
Babycakes and I started with
L'assiette de Patés
Which is described on the menu as,
House made smooth & country pâtés with garlic and dry saucissons, fig mustard and cornichons. It was delicious. ...
I had the
Mignonette de Veau Au Parmesan,
Flash-fried parmesan crusted veal medallion, caper beurre blanc, quartet of vegetables.
I was not totally enamored. It was kind of bland, and the veal was super thin, so a lot of the crust in each bite. The vegetables also, kind of flavorless, unseasoned and overdone to be too mushy.
Babycakes had
L'onglet de Boeuf
Seared hanger steak, pommes frites, vegetables, toasted shallot & garlic bordelaise, and said it was great.
It must have been, because I didn't get to try it! Lol.
I think I'd try it again on a weeknight.
Ivan Valderrama
Oh I don't know what devil magic the oven runs on but everything that needed toasting was to perfection. The bread before the meal was...I was transported to France, and a bakery with fresh made bread. Crispy outside, but not hard, just crisp and warm and soft inside. Divine. We ordered the escargot, muscles, and hangar steak.
The only reason no 5 stars is because they gave us food with no utensils, was clear we had nothing to eat with when the food was put down, and the presentation of the steak was terrible. It was covered in fries. It looked like a plate of fries, not a plate of delicious steak.
Yes that sounds picky, sorry not sorry if you don't like it, but I have high expectations and don't recommend places lightly.
That being said I WOULD DEFINITELY go back to Cafe Degas. It was a good meal and very intimate and pleasant atmosphere. If you're in the area, you should drop in. 👍🏼

I had my doubts when we drove up to the address. We were in town for a wedding and had several really great dinners already. Cafe Degas was one of the most delicious meals of my life! Our waiter, Jason, had a wonderful french accent and was extra specially attentive and helpful. He was definitely the final touch on a very fine culinary experience! I will certainly recommend your restaurant to other travelers.
Brittany White
Amazing food! Great ambiance! Excellent service! Ask for Renee. He’ll take care of you!
M V Gonzales
A cute place for brunch. Decent prices but rich flavored food. I'd definitely return. If you have more than one cocktail then bill will add up.
Colby Gray
Great atmosphere. French inspired cuisine. The pan seared duck was fabulous. Excellent dessert options.
Michelle Phillips
We love our New Orleans dining experiences to be elegant and refined without being overly stuffy and pretentious...Cafe Degas was perfect in this regard. It's situated in a small neighborhood surrounded by wine cafes, etc, but only 10 min drive from the French quarter. We had 7:30 reservations and were seated within minutes of arriving. Our server BC was very attentive without hovering unnecessarily. He made excellent recommendations. I said I was wanting to try escargot for the first time and he encouraged me by saying most, including himself, find them to be delicious but also reminded me that since it's only 6 it was a manageable risk... They were delicious!!!! If you want a quiet romantic dinner, away from the raucous nightlife of the Quarter, this is your place. The food is delicious and the ambiance inviting. Ask for BC, he's very personable and professional.

Excellent atmosphere and French food cuisine. Its just as lovely

I searched Google for a romantic, French restaurant, but wanted it to feel relaxed, not stuffy. This is exactly what I was looking for. It's a cozy treehouse cafe setting, curated menu, friendly staff, excellent service. We tried the small pâté plate, hanger steak, duck, and crème brûlée. All were just ... Sublime! I have no better words.
Bernie De Santis III
Had a wonderful brunch here! Very friendly staff and delicious food. I think my favorite thing was the boudin noir which was paired with a tarte-tatin.
Austin B.
If you like French cuisine and wine, you’ll love Cafe Degas. Dining here made us feel like we were in Paris. And the staff are amazing and helpful.
Geoff Lewis
Always an indelible and consistently excellent experience. The best spot to share with family and old friends. Lovely part of town and terrific service and delightful staff.
Megan Reed
Love the location and atmosphere. The food was excellent and the staff was so friendly
Laura Boggs
The food is amazing, especially the dessert! The cafe is very cute inside. I love the tree in the middle and the open walls. It's always festively decorated for holidays.

Very nice place with french apéritifs (Ricard !), Food was well served, home made and delicious. And the service works so nice well with a touch of friendly teasing ! 🥰 …
Johnathan Lee
Great French food. We always love these places that serve dishes we couldn't fathom to make at home
Jared Benson
I loved it. I had a rabbit leg with parsnips and carrots over a hearty roux and it was to die for. The whole place somehow feels fancy AND homey at the same time and it feels open because of the clear plastic that drops down instead of walls. However because of this, the air conditioning inside is excellent. Its a small small place with a tiny outdoor area in the front and a tiny bar area. Great food! Good service. Pricey but hey. Its worth it. Adorable little date for two thats classy and casual.
Jordan Huey
Food was excellent. We had the pan seared sword fish and the braised pork off of the rotating menu. Service was also great. Our server recommended some awesome desserts. Come early we went on a Wednesday at opening for dinner, and by 7 the line was long.
Hannah Bryant
Like a French little oasis in New Orleans. Went for brunch, delicious!! I do wish the tables were a tad bit bigger.
Tiffany Stockstill
Decor is mesmerizing at night, the service is exceptional and the food is ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ . The atmosphere is superb as well. Dressy or casual attire. This place is legendary and will remain so hopefully.
Inna Gomelsky
We visited this cafe today for lunch. Positives:
1. good location
2. casual vibe
3. crawfish ravioli dish was tasty
4. easy to make reservation online
5. Reasonable prices
Negatives:
1. menu and specials on their website don't match menu and specials in the restaurant. We specifically came to try a dish listed as special on their website, but it was not even on their restaurant menu.
2. Some items from the restaurant menu are not available, they are out.
3. My Roasted quail over greens was supposed to have goat cheese. I saw only three tiny pieces of cheese. Couldn't even taste it.
4. We were brought 1 piece of bread for 2 people with 3 pieces of butter (more butter than bread).
5. Waiter was busy and didn't even refill our water. Also, we asked another waiter for our check since we didn't see our waiter.
6. There are 2 bathrooms, marked as women's and men's. Imagine my surprise when a man came out of the women's bathroom. He saw my surprised face and told me that he was told that both bathrooms are for everyone. After I entered it, it was very dirty. I can't imagine how it got that bad when the restaurant just opened for lunch ( not even at the end of the day).
Joshua Watkin
We sat by the tree. Couldn’t identify the tree from the bark. I had the Duck. My wife had the Lamb. I’m sure both animals would have sacrificed themselves willingly if they knew they would be eaten in such a restaurant as Cafe Degas.
Mark Cook
Eccentric looking place with an alternative vibe, but food to die for. Great atmosphere and great service. Highly recommend.

Honestly was a little disappointed. Service was unorganized and slow. I had the veal and it was good as was my wife's beet salad. But service, temp and noise from very close to our table kitchen and dishes cleaning area was very underwhelming. Maybe they were having a bad night.

Food was great! Fast and friendly service as well

One of my favorites places in the city. Food is wonderful and the atmosphere is fantastic!

新奧爾良深度遊:
The food is 4.4 stars
Price is $$$
The ambience is good, the servers are friendly as well. It’s like a local restaurant which serving good French meals for many years. Good place for dating!!!!
Peyun K
We tried the ravioli hors d'œuvre, the pork loin and the salmon and loved all of it. There is great attention to detail with every component of the meal down to the sauces and garnishes being delicious and flavorful. Great service too... Friendly and attentive without being over the top. We'll definitely be back next time we're in town.
Morgan Buerke
The food here was delicious, but our waitresses constantly neglected us. I could tell that another worker came in and out to serve his guests quickly and promptly, hence the 4 stars, but we ended up waiting forever for our food and the check.
Scott Miller
Proposed to my fiance here! Would propose to her again if given the chance to do it all over again.
Edit: still great! Food is so fancy the quail crosses it's legs!
Jay C
Nice specials menu, changing regular menu. Might make it tough for people with some allergies, but a good setting, especially when the windows are all open (hopefully keeping the virus from accumulating). I liked the accoutrements my fish came with, made for a nice plate. Good dessert, too. Will return, solid experience.
Casey Miller
A romantic and unfussy spot for classic French standards, and local specials.
Keith Watt
Great food, not stuffy and pretentious as French restaurants tend to be. Dining room was open to the outside on a recent gorgeous March evening. Three of us had the L’onglet de Boeuf (seared hanger steak) which was excellent. Each of us ordered slightly different doneness and each was grilled to perfection. Fourth companion had mussels which he said were very good. Salads are large enough to share. Desserts were decadent. With wine, sides, and desserts, the bill was under $200 (before tip) for four of us, which we felt was pretty reasonable for a restaurant of this level of quality. Place isn’t huge so make reservations.
Charles Conti
Great atmosphere. Excellent service. Perfectly seasoned food.
Cindy Diniaco
Always top- notch in every way! Thanks, René! You made our experience extra fun and memorable!
Dakota Jackson
Food was delicious atmosphere was great and the staff was friendly definitely worth a try.
Amy Nicole Stewart
I have eaten here many times over the years and have never had anything but great food, excellent drink, and great service. Such a gem. Even though it’s not in my neighborhood anymore, I still try and eat here several times a year. Always worth it.
Valli Funk
Beautiful atmosphere, delicious food, french music playing softly in the background. I highly recommend this place, it's a whole experience.
Charlie LaRock
I always love this place, aweso.e spot for sunday brunch or when ever you need a great meal.
Nancy Fawakhiri
Ordered steak and eggs and eggs benedict both were delicious. Service was good.

Hands down my favorite place to dine out in New Orleans. I’m from here and it’s a hidden gem.

Great food. Friendly staff.
Gina Womack
Food was great, ambiance was fantastic and prices are amazing. Sorry I was so eager to eat my food I dove right in before I snapped my photo.
Melissa Bennett Simeon
I used to love coming here, it was a great location with delightful food. Unfortunately our last visit was disappointing. While the ambiance of the place is still perfect, the entrees on the menu are so scaled back that my husband and I honestly didn't see anything we wanted to eat. The menu online is not what is being served. There are only 5 entrees and 2 of them are salads. My husband opted for a the mahi mahi which was a "special". The flavor combos were off and the lentils were completely dried out. I had the pork chop (also the only other special) and I would have liked to know that it was covered with mushrooms (not mentioned on the description). The thing that topped off my critical review was the french onion soup wasn't good. It was clear and flavorless. I had to add salt to a soup that is inherently salty. As much as I hate to say it, I don't think we will be coming back here again.
Chrissy C
Delicious food in a romantic setting. Always glad we dined here!
Kayla E.
Walked in without a reservation and was lucky enough to get in! The food here was excellent! Eggs rowan were delicious, the staff was also very friendly and accommodating.
Min Jin
A pleasant neighborhood bistro. Wife and I enjoyed our meals. Service is top notch.
Carolyn McCue
I have liked Cafe Degas for a very long time.
Nancy Gervais
Our server, Sarah was wonderful. She made our whole party feel special and cared for. The food, as always, is consistently good and very French. There were a few additions to the tiny menu that made lunch here interesting, even 30+ years after I first visited. It's hard not to be charmed by the low key bistro atmosphere and fabulous location.
sharayah lewis
Had such a wonderful experience here. Wonderful food, romantic atmosphere, impeccable service, and and the nonchalance of the dining room tree is just so charming!

Place was awesome, food was so good and the wait staff was very attentive
Alyssa Carter
We wanted to try someplace new and different to celebrate my sister birthday. This was a great choice!! From the moment we walked in we felt welcome. It was like we were transported to a peaceful oasis. The restaurant was intimate, tables comfortably spaced, service was paced perfectly. We had reservations, and waited less than a few minutes to be seated after we arrived.
Georgiana O'Neill
Cafe Degas was a great little spot for brunch. I split the Belgian waffle with a friend and then got the Quiche Lorraine for myself. Both were very good! The service was great and I’d definitely come back to try out their dinner menu. It’s also a short walk from Cafe Degas to NOMA so it was a great spot to grab a bite before walking around the museum!
Casey Billiot
The atmosphere, the kindness of the staff, and the delicious food makes for a wonderful dinning experience.
Wayne Boyko
We wanted to try something different and upscale for our anniversary, and Cafe Degas seemed to fit the bill. We were not wrong. The food was excellent. We split the crawfish and mushroom ravioli appetizer, my wife had the tuna nicoise salad and I had the confit duck. Topped off with glasses of rose, we were stuffed and had no room for dessert, even though the options also sounded delicious. Our server was attentive but not overly so, the ambience was great. Definitely a place we will return to, especially with out of town guests.
Aremy D
Steak and lamb were both delicious. I recommend eating inside though as there were many flies outside buzzing around which detracted from the experience.
Brian Bonaparte
Lovely French restaurant on the Esplanade with outdoor seating, live music, delightful staff (some are even from France). The food is delicious, satisfying and reasonably priced. We look forward to becoming regulars.
Cynthia Browne
My fave French restaurant in NOLA.
SANDRINE M
Top ! Very good food, very nice restaurant and a pleasure for a New Orleans French lover.
Akshay Mehra
Ordered the hangar steak and fries but was disappointed since the steak and the sides were bland. The place has a limited menu which in my opinion is a good thing but some of my friends didn't particularly like that. Giving an extra star for their deserts and service.
Megan Hammock
Greatest French restaurant outside of Paris. 10/10

This is exemplary. Has always been. Total jewel of New Orleans cuisine. The ambiance. The staff. The wonderful owners. The fabulous food. The exquisite libations. The extraordinary wine. All in a long time neighborhood tradition.
Treat yourself.

I went there tonight with friends, and all three of us had the COOLinary special three-course dinner, which is a good way to try out dishes and desserts you may have never had before, and drinks, too: I had a "Bourgeoisie" margarita that was different and better than margaritas I had had before, so I had a second one!
Also, the price is right. Our server was attentive and we enjoyed our dinner and the atmosphere. I hadn't been to Café Degas in over fifteen years, and it strikes me as more tropically rustic than it was before, which I liked -- very cool place, recommended.
Destani Malicoat, LPC
I loved our experience here! Our server was amazing! They really made my birthday dinner feel special! The veal was superb! I would give more than 5 stars if I could.
James Morock
Quaint French restaurant with good food and service. When they are busy, it is noisy. It is a bit cramped, too. I had the onion soup, which I enjoyed, covered with Swiss cheese, a different twist. My wife and I had the crab salad, very nice, light entree. We skipped dessert this time, but had lemon icebox pie last visit, very nice. Give it a try, but not at peak hours and call for reservation.
Joe Shafer
Lovely brunch spot! Food was great.
Jeannine Sahagen
We normally enjoy this beautiful little restaurant but today was disappointing. Service was fine, hostess was very pleasant but the food was less than the quality we have come to expect. Two of us had the onion soup. It was way too loaded with cheese, not much soup. My quiche was undercooked and my husband's swordfish was skimpy and the rice beneath was extremely dry. We will go again hoping we have a better experience next time.
Mike Caiafa
Always a wonderful place to dine. Service and cuisine top notch!
Lorna Street Dopson
What a gem! This place is adorable and cozy, and the staff is super quirky and friendly. Our waitress was knowledgeable and humorous, and her wine pairings were spot-on. The place can feel a bit cramped (and often IS actually crowded); some of the tables are a little close together. Our food was delicious and came out hot and fresh.
Kent Goode
Delightful decor, romantic, great food quality. Servers attentive, helpful, and unobtrusive. An outstanding experience!
Gizem NY
It was perfect 👌 Food, atmosphere, service. 💯 Super cute place with a tree growing inside. We sat outside with our dog and had a tasty, romantic dinner.
still trying
Really enjoyed this restaurant. We arrived on Friday night without a reservation and they found us a nice table. The pate plate was generous. Both main courses were delicious. We returned for brunch and had the crepes and salad nicoise. Very good with a bloody Mary.

Great little French bistro. Tiny place, eclectic decor. But good food and great service. Unfortunately, the NY strip steak my fiancee ordered was extremely tough and gristly. They offered the hanger steak as a replacement and it was fabulous. Crepes for dessert were the bomb!

I visited for Mother's Day and was quite impressed with the quality, cost, and customer service that we received. The staff was terrific and the menu was superb! The escargot is some of the best I've ever had, as are their muscles.
The brunch menu contained a great twist on Eggs Benedict, it was quite refreshing. I definitely recommend a reservation no matter what day you choose to dine here.

Wow! From service to food is a 100! Great restaurant to go on the date or treat your wife🥰 …

My husband took me here for my birthday dinner and it was absolutely perfect. We came in on a night with bottles of wine for 30% off! We got a bottle of their Pinot Gris. We snacked on a nice little loaf of French bread, a yummy little cheese plate, and escargot! For our main courses my husband got the Veal with pasta and green beans, and I went with the Mahi-Mahi with a cauliflower puree, rainbow chard and watermelon radish. All the flavors were spectacular. Dessert rolled around and we decided to split a piece of their Raspberry Chambord cake; sweet, creamy and light. I would recommend giving this place a stop on your trip to New Orleans. Thank you for making this a memorable birthday!

portions were small but the taste was amazing

A very relaxed, picturesque spot, hidden in the shade. Perfect to escape the heat during a stroll through New Orleans. Staff is welcoming.

The mussels- oh my. Fantastic. Always a good time at Cafe Degas….
Dylan Hill
Service was great, the foodrunner with the mullet was particularly sweet, ambiance and noise level were good. Entrees were a little disappointing. A side of plain unseasoned and not fully cooked veggies came with the crab crepe, the crepe itself was good, but wish the asparagus inside was a little more tender, or maybe just buds instead of two long asparagus running through the whole crepe. Dessert was fantastic, loved the lemon icebox pie
Elizabeth
Absolutely loved this place! If you are looking for a piece of paris, this is it! The atmosphere here was very European and I loved the outdoor views. All of our food was excellent! The seared scallops were made to perfection, the steak was juicy and cooked exactly to our liking. I will for sure be back. Made for an wonderful date night!

We were visiting from out of town, although we frequent the city a lot. New Orleans is known for great food, so it was quite a disappointment that we had such mediocre food. It was also surprising that this place has such great reviews, so maybe it was an off night? PROs: charming restaurant that is mainly a covered patio and intimate feel. Servers were friendly enough and food came out in a reasonable amount of time. The mussels and fries were really good. Great flavorful broth and nice thin fries, some were a bit too crisp for my liking, but overall great. CONs: I ordered a mocktail (pregnant here) and it definitely tasted of canned grapefruit juice (waitress confirmed it was bottled/not fresh), not great. Complementary French bread also didn’t taste fresh, no crisp crust—could have been day old or frozen and heated, surprising for a French restaurant in N.O. of all places with great bread everywhere! Brussels sprout salad—we should have sent back. Brussels were cold and grayish in color, after tasting we moved off our plate into the mussel shell bowl. Looks like they were cooked days earlier and refrigerated. Decent blue cheese, but otherwise spring mix and a few sliced red onions. The main reason we picked this place is for the steak frites which managed to be on a top 5 list online at some point. Again, fries were good, although 1/3 were over crispy/cooked. Hangar steak was charred outside and chewy in a thin unappetizing wine sauce. Main issue was the freezer burned vegetable medley—broccoli, carrot, squash mix from a bag. Waitress insisted she checked with the kitchen and they weren’t frozen, but definitely inedible and not what you’d expect at this place. We sent our steak back which they deducted from our bill and went elsewhere for dessert. I’m hopeful this was an off night for an otherwise charming French spot, but we won’t be returning.

Absolutely wonderful. Best restaurant in New Orleans
Lisou B
Amazing location, amazing food, amazing staff !
Stephen Loria
Did the coolinary special of duck salad and amberjack. Service, Atmosphere, and food were all excellent.
Great cocktail and the floatin island was almost but not quite as good as my mama's..😎 …

Café Degas is a absolute can't miss restaurant in New Orleans. Come as you are casual to dressed. The onion soup, escargot, and fromage are great. Today I had the leak and potato vichyssoise was phenomenal, especially in these blazing hot summer months. Always worth a visit, and before or after NOMA is only a walk or short drive away.

Love this place and return often. I travel to France a lot so I know what they are aiming for. Trust me it hits the mark.
Alexander
Brady is one of the best servers I have ever had in my life. An absolute gem. The food is phenomenal here. The drinks are to die for. Can not reccomend highly enough. A must eat.
K. Michael VerKamp
Amazing yet relaxed at every level. Great place for any reason... We had the kids with us and were pleasantly surprised how mud they enjoyed it too. Sara, our super attentive and friendly waitress made us feel like an honored guest in her home. We won't ever miss the opportunity to return when in New Orleans. Another plus? It's in a beautiful peaceful New Orleans neighborhood. Uber back to the fun chaos of Bourbon St after an exquisite meal at Cafe Degas!
Dara P
They started Coolinary early. We had the duck confit salad and the steelhead trout, which was served over mashed potatoes. The sauce was divine. The side was Haricot verte. B.C. was out excellent server.
Jeremy Schneider
Service was superb and atmosphere was excellent. Cheese board and pates were great! Most at my table of 8 raved about their main dishes. My lamb shank was a bit dry.
Doris Nicholson
The band was superb! This young lady got up and sang Aretha Franklin's- Rock Steady and she ate the crowd alive! Oh what a great time
Akua
The escargot was incredible, the guy behind the bar was great until my Mussels came back with a lot of aioli which is not listed on the menu and was not mentioned when I asked him for the description. I am a foodie have had mussels from several restaurants these were not worth the price point at all! Great service tho, friendly atmostphere. Will not be going back again though
Jessica
Wonderful food. Came for brunch, called ahead a few minutes for a table for two. Don't let them take you outside to the back, it feels like you're eating in an alley beside a house. We asked them to move us and they obliged. We sat next to the famed tree that grows inside the restaurant. Would recommend for brunch. Call ahead, get a reservation, it was easy for us.
Tish Haley
Wonderful food, drinks, and friendly service. The atmosphere with all of it's greenery is simple and romantic.
Brandy Tucker
Ordered the crayfish quiche which was wonderful, however my daughter had the grilled Maui Maui and it was out of this world! When I go back I have to get it!
Lee McDonald
Chelsea was awesome! She was so fun and made the meal a great experience! The food was great and atmosphere was so cute- best first meal of the city- the next restaurants we visit will have a high bar to set!
Mark Coates
Had the nicoise salad, its good but if you have had another really good nicoise it doesn't stack up. Also had the pate platter which is excellent as is the french onion soup. Staff is warm and friendly but seems a bit rushed. Price is a bit high but it seems to be in a trendy area. Do not skip their desserts!
Veronica Zambrano
Yummy 😘 …
Jennifer goosman
Can't really say I was super impressed. The food for the price was so so. Not very creative or competitive for the current culinary explosion happening in Nola. But hey... If you're a neighborhood staple I guess it doesn't really matter? Service was great. Wine was excellent.
Dmoney Burke
What a wonderful place! The mussels were off the charts delicious! Do not miss the mussels! Frites were great as well. The Eggs Benedict were beautifully runny and Hollandaise sauce was other worldly good. We chose a wonderfull Beaujolais that complemented it all. 10/10. Would definitely go back!
Pete Schreiber
Crisp fall evening. The table next to us is speaking French. She is getting lit on lemoncellos. Lamp chops had an amazing blueberry sauce. Great evening!
Lauren S
I went to dinner here for two reasons..... the french onion soup and the raspberry chambord cake. The french onion soup was outstanding, loaded with cheese. In fact, there was so much cheese I was too full to eat an entree. That was fine with me so I moved on to dessert. The chambord cake comes from Maurice's bakery in Metairie. This cake is magnificent and other than ordering a whole cake for myself this is my best option. The cake had been delivered that day and was so moist and fresh. White cake soaked in chambord with a raspberry and mascarpone buttercream filling. Iced in the same buttercream and covered in flakes of white chocolate. OMG! Once a year I will treat myself to a 6 inch cake on my birthday. Otherwise, it is soup and dessert here in between.
Will S
Great mid city restaurant. Small but great food! Love the salad nicoise. But everything is great. Some outside seating. Easy to find and easy to see from road. Parking is a little difficult and be very careful where you park so as not to get a ticket. This is a delightful restaurant....enjoy!
Kelly Hanson
Quaint neighborhood restaurant. The steak I ordered was tough, overcooked, and dry. I sent it back and they took it off our bill with many apologies. Everyone else in our party had excellent food and it was delicious. The drinks and wine were excellent as well.
Me-Me LeBlanc
Hubby and I love to go to Cafe' Degas for our anniversary but missed it last month! So we made up for it by going last Wednesday evening. We weren't disappointed. Great wine and delicious food and such a great atmosphere for a nice couple's evening. Always enjoy going there!!
Mischelle Serr
Have been coming here for lunch for years. It's always wonderful. The setting is peaceful & the service is impeccable. Love the escargot & the hangar steak. Had the special savory cheesecake today...yum!!
Marissa Barner
The atmosphere is so romanic; lots of greenery and windows. My husband and I both got the L'onglet de boeuf and were savoring every bite. It rained the night we were there and it added a dash of cozy to the whole evening encouraging dessert and more cocktails, I think Cafe Degas is a great rainy night choice. Thank you for the lovely memories.
Lynn Jaynes
Great Milk punch and the Mussels are the best!
Mat H
I went to the nearby art museum in city park and kept the entrance sticker from there, and Cafe Degas included a free glass of champagne with my dinner. That was a fabulous surprise. Also, the food was delicious. The full dinner menu isn't available until 5:30PM, but the small plate menu was still filling.
John Caron
I have eaten at Cafe Degas dozens and dozens of time , my home is about a 30 minute walk --5 minutes by car. I have hardly ever had a bad meal here. Love this place, for what it is does--French Bistro style cooking, it is one of the very best in Metro New Orleans!
Lisa Hall
Came here after visiting NOMA and was delighted to be seated near the tree that my lady was constantly talking about. The service was top notch! Very attentive wait staff that were constantly near by to take care of our needs. It is a little cramp in here but I enjoy it due to the fact you can hear other great conversations about city life.
st o
Wonderful place to eat!! Exceptional quality, love their staff, ambience can be romantic despite the fact it's very busy. The appetizers are wonderful, the main course is of perfect portions, the desserts are fabulous. I love this restaurant!!
Sinthuja Ramalingam
Cafe Degas was a 2 minute walk from our airbnb, and we had breakfast there on the first day of our trip.
I'm vegetarian and lactose intolerant, and although nothing on the menu really fit that, the kitchen was very accommodating and made me an of-menu omelette.
My cousin and sister had mussels and salmon, and absolutely loved their meals, and loved the Floating Island Dessert.
The Peach mimosas were beyond perfect.
Casey H
Perfect date spot with great French fare.
Olivia Kenny
BEST. FOOD. EVAH! Very kind and fast service. The food was to die for, both the classics and the less "potato and meat" meals. Even their bread comes from a delicious bakery. The portions are generous too.
Wendy Ruckman
French onion soup as good as always.
Beet salad with goat cheese makes a great combination.
Drum over parsnip purée and green apple sweet reduction and haricot verts.
Also ordered veal over pasta and tender baby carrots. Delicious.
We’ve missed going during Covid but so glad they are open and again serving unique and tasty meals sourced locally.
Riesa Lewis
We decided to try having dinner at this restaurant to celebrate our anniversary. Everything started off fine. We were seated quickly, our server was friendly, knowledgeable, and personable. Bread was brought out and as I began to butter it, I felt like something was crawling on my arm. When I looked over, there was a big, fat palmetto bug on the table trying to get at the bread. I HATE roaches; they terrify me. Not wanting to ruin the dinner, I swiped at it several times (that thing was aggressive!) and eventually got it to go away. We had a delicious beet salad and then the main course was brought out, which was also excellent. I do have to remove a star, however, due to the lack of vegetarian friendly options. There is literally one meat free entree on the menu. I then went to the bathroom, where I was confronted by another large roach. I tried to move as little as possible (those things can fly) and got back out to the table. As we were waiting for desert to be brought out, a roach climbed up the empty table opposite us and flew right for me. I got up, let out a scream, and stood up to try to get it off me. My husband started looking over my clothes and it seemed as though it had flown off me. What amazed me was that no one noticed; no one asked why I screamed and got up. We ate our desert quickly and left before any more roaches could get at me. I don't know if I was wearing something that attracted them but it was hard to fully enjoy myself because I was worried about when the next roach was coming by. Not sure if the other reviewers are locals and these palmetto bugs are simply a way of life and other people had them crawling on their tables? Here in Florida, we also have palmetto bugs but I have never before been to a restaurant and had them crawling on my table and flying at me. For what we paid for dinner, I definitely expected more. I am removing another star from this review due to the roaches. The food was excellent, but my whole experience was soured by roaches. Seems that I am simply not one for this sort of fine dining.
Amanda Self
Food was good but nothing exceptional. Atmosphere is nice but tables were so close together we felt like we were on top of the couple next to us. I'd return for another shot on a bright and sunny day since it's quasi - patio style dining.
Melinda Shelton
We locals know what a treat awaits at Cafe Degas on Esplanade; use one of its online coupons and make your deal sweeter. Expect long waits at peak times; but sneak in right at opening, sit on the patio, or wait at the bar and enjoy yourself. TOO BUSY? Walk down and Ck out Nonna Mia’s, the divine 1000 Figs, NOLA establishment Lola’s, or Santa Fe. Coffee at Fair Grinds. Wines and other libations at Swirl. All in 1 block of our beloved Bayou St John neighborhood.
Evelyn Gathright
Excellent server, flash fried appetizer oysters too spicy (we'd told him I didn't eat spicy) but the delicious creamy slaw helped me empty my plate. Desserts were a fantastic medley of usual chocolate or vanilla cakes & lemon icebox cake, pastry creme brest & more.
Reily Goyne
I love this place. Every single bite, from appetizer to dessert, was absolutely divine. For the appetizers, we ordered the cheese board and the ravioli and my only complaint was we needed more. I also had a Kir Royale for an aperitif which was light and refreshing. For the entree I had the mingonette de veau au parmesan, which is a parmesan crusted veal over some shell pasta with vegetables (mainly squashes). It was a large plate, but each bite was light and full of flavor, no one note overwhelming. For dessert, I had their pastry which was light and fluffy and heavenly. The service and ambiance were excellent as well, for a nice family dinner or an intimate date.
Karen Daray
I would've rated it a 5 except for the poor service. Every time we wanted a drink it took so long that we started ordering double. It took 2 hours to eat our meal there were only 4 of us. Very disappointing birthday dinner for my daughter.
Britt Tuite
Disappointed with our food. The fried soft shell crab and French fries were soggy. The pate was very cold. We went just for the pate plate and just had to force ourselves to get it down.
Ellie Kang
Adored this French bistro! All the dishes were well made, friendly service and interior was charming and inviting. Highly recommend for breakfast!
Kelly Corbray
Definitely get the duck confit! Ask for a couple of lemon wedges on the side to brighten up the super deep fatty unctuous deliciousness of this plate! Definitely will be going back 🥰 …
Somer Thompson
It was ok. Had a nice waitress and she served us promptly. But the bread was cold and I felt like the creme brulee should have been warmer. The salads and the fruit and cheese plate were just ok.
Joseph Bodenmiller
An old favorite of mine that I have recently rediscovered and I am glad to be reconnected. Excellent menu and terrifically prepared and served dishes.
Lynn Bigham
Very sweet of friends to take me for birthday. $$$. Veal was good but friends spending for it makes it hard for me to swallow. I was thrilled just to be with them. Interesting. Lots of character. Staff nice. Place cramped. French fries with mussels?? When in France....but we werent. Apparently steaks good, everybody around having those, now french fries fit but id take the baked. Nona Mia next door impressive week before. Was out of my first choice, bent over backwards to satisfy. Chef came out. Sauted veg and fried eggplant with marinara (menu adjustment) was great. $$
Nazary Nebeluk
I stumbled into here on a weekday afternoon and was incredibly pleased. The service was great and the food was delicious. Me and my friend split the pate plate as an appetizer and it came with a delicious fig mustard - honestly that alone could have been a meal. We did the prix fixe and for only $18 each got a duck confit salad and I got the hanger steak while she got the tuna salad nicoise. The duck confit was phenomenal and the hanger steak came with perfectly fried french fries and a bunch of roasted vegetables - I ended up taking most of it home where it became dinner.
Overall it's a really nice spot to grab a leisurely lunch - I recommend it if you want to catch up with an old friend. I can't wait to return.
Rico Magsino
Very good food selection and the wait service is outstanding. The place has a great ambiance and the food we ordered was delicious. The dessert was just OK. I'd go back for dinner or lunch again at this place.
Avery B
Good food but a little pricey. Waiter was very attentive and patient with us. There's a tree in the middle of the restaurant so that's cool. Great stop to hit if you're visiting New Orleans.
Chris Ingram
I'd say the food here is good but not great
joshua Suev
We went with a large group that ordered most of the menu and everything was great! This is a very wonderful location for an excellent lunch or an intimate dinner. We had great service as well, I would definitely go back!!!
Michael Saucier
One of my absolute favorites it town. It's French service. As it should be. Slow and relaxed. My wife and I make it a point to come here 4-5 times a year. This place is a classic. Absolutely perfect French bistro. I just hope that other reviewers know how a French bistro is supposed to work.
Carolina Oliveira
Great ambiance and good service. The food is not bad but I expected more. I have has cheaper and better meals in the city. Still a pleasant experience but I was not impressed.
Cassandra Waring
Ambiances is a 5 food a 3.5 to 4, service 5 nice date restaurant, pretty good for brunch. Nice that it's outside of the French quarter and it isn't as crowded in the area. Finding parking was easy too.
Allison Preslar
This place is wonderful! So cute and quaint outside with great lights and trees and other plants. It's situated on a corner so from the outside it doesn't look that big but there's plenty of space inside. The food was absolutely delicious and I loved every bit of it!
Danial Carlson
I really enjoy this place. The hangar steak is great, as is the brussel sprout salad. They have Kronenberg on draft and a great wine selection that won't break your bank, unless you want to! I believe this is also the only restaurant in NOLA with a tree growing through the roof!
Lucas Pettey
Great fine dining experience! Staff is very courteous and knowledgeable. The food tastes amazing!
sue lindley
Wonderful French food everything was perfect
Sergey Gorbov
Ordered steak. It was terrible, although was cooked medium. Lamb rib was good though. Mussels were served with a weird sauce which I didn't really like. Not much room inside, pretty tight
Charles Fried
Charming, busy spot with some outdoor tables and garden feel throughout. Great salads and frites although I was disappointed in the desserts. This is a favorite regular of ours when in New Orleans
Cristina Twigg
The mussels and cheese plate were great. The service good and friendly. The space is really pretty and unique. Love the tree growing through the patio, so cool.
Nola Fairbanks
Beautiful French food! Romantic dining area that feels like a treehouse. Cafe Degas is a special place we have enjoyed since the early 90's.
Colby Taperts
went to cafe dega last night and everything was great, the bartender took care of us right away when we were waiting for our table to be open and made the best mint julip for me. we had the cheese board to start and it was a great selection, the french onion was a bit too cheesy but it was still really good. i had the sea bass stuffed with crab and the taste was spot on with a hint of lemon with herbs. my girlfriend had the lamb t bone and it was excellent, perfectly cooked.
definetely going back, great service as well
Sarah Ashton
Wonderful dinner with wonderful service. The lamb was delicious and the meal very good. Enjoyed the dark chocolate torte. All was exceptional. Will be back again.
Ted Prechter
My wife and had an excellent experience last night. Friendly staff and great food. The soft shell crab was very good, cooked perfectly. One of our favorite restaurants.

New Year's day at the very small bar with my bestie Michele and Bartholomew (Bart) the bartender who was very attentive and a lot of fun. Dinner was delicious as always and the bubbly 🍾 was perfect! …

Must do. Everything you would expect for a classic French experience. On days of nice weather go sit watch people go by with a cheese plate and fine wine. The staff is awesome the food is impeccable Oysters Rockefeller soup, mussels and pommes frites,. Even when I'm not hungry the food here makes me hungry

Nice place and friendly people. Nothing spectacular but no big complaints! I would recommend it to others. A lot of our neighbors got the cheeses appetizer. Maybe do that in lieu of our choices.
Emily Jensen
Cute little French-style cafe in a darling part of NOLA. My daughter was introduced to prosciutto-wrapped cantelope and was delighted. My special of the day crawfish quiche was smooth as silk with a great balance of flavors. We loved it and would be back next time we're in the area.
C Rod
Always a solid choice. Perfect food, ambiance and service.
Pamela H.
Amazing meal at reasonable prices. The service was perfect, and though this is a small cafe, there is charm to the decor. We went 2 times while visiting NOLA because it was a lovely quaint place off the beaten path. Highly recommended!
Beth Larkin
The atmosphere is lovely, all open air and garden trellises . The food is just ok. Everything was a little bland but tasty enough. The service was excellent and it's a lovely spot to have brunch.
Jennifer Farwell
What can I say? Most romantic place to eat in New Orleans, food is great, wine list is perfect. The lump crab salad is my favorite, and I also like the mussels (and I normally hate mussels).
Morgan Legendre
Always reliable for a great French meal. Very good atmosphere, especially pleasant in the cooler months. Favorites include the onion soup, hanger steak, and esplanade salad.
Nancy Flint
Yellow fin tuna was delicious. Sparkling wine at $5 a glass—sweet. I love you, Cafe Degas! Wait staff terrific.
Troy Main
Best food in NOLA hands down!
Jordan Albritton
Excellent food. Good mix of options on the menu. I had the hanger steak which was cooked perfectly (medium rare, but nicely seared on the outside). Fair prices too.
David
Charming french restaurant. My amberjack was delicious, and the desserts are worth a visit. Sarah, our server, was a delight.
Eliot kamenitz
Traditional French Cafe with cosy 4 seat bar and small dining room. The French onion soup is top notch. The hanger steak is always a good choice. Nick Verisco the bar tender is master at his craft.
Steven Molina
Food was delicious, the outside seating was nice had a nice evening with the family and the service was superb and courteous!!
Alicia Wheeler
Always delicious. Perfect unique cozy spot. Naturally the French Onion Soup is incredible but their fish specials are always a sure thing.
Michael Blount
Food was amazing, service was not. Had a waiter named Sebastian that ignored us the whole night, even left us there waiting to pay for over 10 minutes after he brought us the bill. If you do go, and Sebastian is your waiter, just leave.
Fabian Molina
Amazing food. Great service. Most romantic restaurant in NOLA? Maybe.
Jeffrey-Michael Kane
Wonderful . Lovely. Charming. Just wow.
Gabriela Swanson
Wonderful food. Really, really enjoyed our lunch there. They very kindly found room for an unplanned party of seven. Great service.
Michelle LeBlanc
Always delicious. Always superior service. On a spring day sitting on the patio is bliss.
jacqueline Bush
Lovely brunch the hanger steak was excellent the lump crab omelette tasty it had real crab but not lump crab but was very tasty none the less the bloody Mary's were refreshingly tasty not spicy so a second round was called for because they wouldn't give heartburn lol
Carol Brooker
Wonderful place full of fun, fine dining and wonderful people. Owner Jacque is so kind. Food is the best in New Orleans. Can't wait to come back.
Eric de Ronde
The onion soup is a must of you've never been. The bartender knows what (s)he's doing, and nothing on the menu has ever disappointed...
So, in short... just go here... you won't regret it.

Please take Drum off the menu - 'twas not good last night... I could go on but instead best if cut to the chase... just don't serve it if you can't cook it!
Eleanor Onstott
My crab salad was nice but the vinaigrette could not be found.
My friends both enjoyed their entrees and the desserts were lovely.
Russell Yazbeck
Quaint, chill, fantastic food. We had the brussels sprouts salad and it was very good, but the crawfish quiche was by far the best quiche I've had. Highly recommended.

Among my very favorite places to go. I love it. The food is great, the atmosphere is warm and relaxed, the staff is mostly very friendly. I highly recommend.

Not great but not terrible. Three is a tree growing up the middle that is rather cool. The food we had wasn't impressive but edible. Might be a while before we go back.
Ashley Stauffer
Service was okay. The swordfish was delicious and the lamb was good but the mergez had a funny taste too it. A bit overpriced for what it is.
Amy Kutell
Delicious French food, served in a funky Bohemian environment makes for a great meal!
