Reviews of Briquette
Andrea Kyle
Had a 7 PM reservation on the Thursday night. We showed up at 6:30 and they were able to seat us right away. Patrick was an excellent server! The food was very butter heavy but tasted delicious. We couldn’t quite figure out how to casual of a vibe they were going for as there were people in jeans and a T-shirt sitting near other patrons in evening gowns. Overall I would say it was good but nothingI’d be jumping at the gun to come back to

Briquette brings a fantastic dining experience, which will keep us coming back! The lighting is fun, electric and romantic. The food is incredible!!! The Pork Porterhouse was one of the best dishes I’ve ever had! The Lemon Cloud dessert is like nothing I’ve ever tasted before and it practically disappears in your mouth.

In preparing for my 4 day/3 night stay in New Orleans I visited the Groupon app for sites and activities. There was a Groupon for $30 off the total for lunch or dinner at Briquettes. We arrived early for our 6:45pm reservation and were seated immediately.
The menu is not long but offers a nice variety of high quality, select options. Lots of seafood choices, steak, pork and even duck. Our waiter, Samuel was efficient but not much of a talker as far as chit-chat. He was happy to answer our questions with a minimum of extra conversation.
I had the Blackened Red Fish with grilled shrimp and fried green tomatoes. Everything on my plate was delicious.
My friend selected the duck.
I especially enjoyed the presentation of the food. Top-notch all the way. The third person in our group had just the lobster bisque. Everyone was satisfied with their food and the prices were very reasonable.
This restaurant with the quality food and quality service appears to be an establishment providing a second chance to those who have made mistakes in the past. I am all for supporting their efforts. If I am mistaken I am still happy to visit Briquettes again when I am next in New Orleans.

I enjoyed a great dinner here for my birthday. Rich was our server and his service was awesome! He was so personable, funny, and really had great recommendations. Everything was so wonderful and at the end of our meal, he surprised me with everyone in the restaurant singing me happy birthday as my dessert came out. I was so impressed with the wonderful food and amazing service. I had the salmon and my fiancé had the snapper and these dishes were phenomenal

The service was phenomenal. My Salmon was cooked 🔥 just right. The food came out at the perfect temperature. The brussel sprouts were tasty with a hint of sweetness. The desserts were nice portions and looked spectacular. Unfortunately, after I demolished my food, I was stuffed. I will have to try a dessert next time.

Such an amazing menu for both land, sea, and drinks. The choices are fantastic and delicious. Wine list is huge and from all over the world. The space is well planned and everything is clean. The waitstaff is attentive and friendly. I got the lamb and it was huge and delicious. Between my entire group we were joking that we had at least a whole animal because the sizes were so generous. Funny story, randomly met the owner, such a nice down to earth guy, friendly and truly invested in the menu and the restaurant. He leads multiple restaurants in NOLA and in florida. Will keep the list of his restaurants on my want to go and will return list!

From the moment we walked in we were serenaded with kindness, smiles, laughs and some of the best food we have ever had. Our waiter was Patrick and he did a great job of keeping up with all of our needs; as well as everybody else's, and he also boasts a great sense of humor. For our meal we had the filet with scallops, red fish with fried green tomatoes, a martini and 2 desserts because we just couldn't choose! The Chocolate creme burlee was spectacular, and the bread pudding beignets were out of this world amazing! The owner also made himself very present and greeted each table and made you feel welcomed and like family. We will definitely be back to eat here in the very near future!

This place was so good.we had scallops for appetizer, then the pork belly salad. I had the blackened red fish with fried green tomatoes. My friend had the steak medallions with scallops. Darrell was our server and was outstanding. The best food and service we have had on our trip to NOLA.

Very nice atmosphere though it might get loud when full. An excellent meal in every way. Great service. Friendly staff. A GREAT, well balanced, wine list. Over 120 different wines. Many by the glass.
The Seafood Gumbo was OK. Not oversalted thankfully
A very interesting and tasty Oysters Rockefeller. Creamed spinach topped with tender fried oysters. YUM 😋. John would be proud 😉
Crawfish and goat cheese crepes were good.
Whole Snapper was EXCELLENT as was my friend's Blackened Red Fish Fresh and perfectly grilled
The Chocolate Creme Brulee was a first. Good and interesting
Thank you folks for a nice meal
As good as Pêche was, I prefer the food here!

This was my first visit and the chef did not disappoint. Everything was delicious. My friend and I said umn at the same time lol.my server was Michel he was very attentive . The portions are nice..the price is not cheap but reasonable and flavor worthy.I went at 5 when they opened which I enjoyed but larger groups did soon arrive .I had a Groupon and they made it easy to apply. I have already told several friends and will be back soon.

We started things off with a round of cocktails. I ordered an old fashioned while the better half had a martini. The cocktails were good, I've had better old fashions but I won't complain.
Next came the Crawfish and Goat cheese crapes as an appetizer, which were great & complemented the cocktails perfectly.
One thing I must say is that, I was in New Orleans all week & ate out each day, something I found strange is that every meal I had was warm but not hot & the same applies for this place. Maybe it's a Big Easy thing but I expected more from higher caliber restaurants.
I choose the Roast Duckling Girod while the better half had the Louisiana Redfish on the Half Shell. Boy did I choose wrong, let me say that duck is a difficult meat to cook right, but if you can't get it right don't have it on the menu. The duck was dry & lacking in flavor & seasoning, that said the greens on the side were phenomenal, but they didn't give much of them. The pork belly plantain mash under the duck was cold, disgusting & had no flavor. The Redfish was excellent but the crawfish topping was cold, the Redfish was so good the cold topping didn't matter.
The creambrulay dessert was the highlight of the night & we devoured it. Overall, this place is OK. It does have a good atmosphere.

I probably never would have tried this place if I didn't see a Groupon but I'll definitely be back!
Most Louisiana food is just spicy, salty, or a combination of the two, but this restaurant had dishes with great flavor pairings. I was most surprised with the crawfish crepe! The filling inside that crepe along with the crawfish sauce on top was chef's kiss!
For my entree I got the redfish with the grilled shrimp which was another home run.I can't even explain how amazing the flavors were. Last I got a little ice cream dessert.
I was so full after I left but it was well worth it! The service was amazing . I never had to ask for refills or look for my waiter to order. He continuously checked on me and made sure I had everything I needed. He also answered all my questions and helped me pick my meal chocies based on my likes and dislikes.
This is the perfect place for a date night! Can't wait to take another trip to NOLA to discover more gems like this!

Briquette is a large, lively, modern space that stays booked. Lots of large parties and a full house make for a very upbeat dining experience. Three of us took a chance for dinner without having a reservation. Of course they were fully booked and we had to wait. Luckily, three seats opened at the bar and we pounced! Ted was hopping behind the very busy bar and after we ordered cocktails, we started with the Crawfish Crepes w/goat cheese (may have been a special), Oyster Rockefeller (Herbsaint, spinach and arugula cream topped with fried oysters and sauce hollandaise) and Lump Crab Bisque and we enjoyed them all. Our entrees included Redfish on the Halfshell (Charred lemon butter, Belle River crawfish relish, heirloom potatoes) and the Snapper Ponchartrain (Lump crab meat, hollandaise, heirloom potatoes, baby green beans). We thoroughly enjoyed everything!

Overall it was good experience. Service was very good. I had the whole Black Sea Bass but wasn't crazy about the potatoes and slaw that came with it. The Trout Almondine was not very well seasoned and was very dry. The Salmon was amazing...I mean really good. I would definitely be willing to go back and try dinner other dishes.

I will definitely be coming back! I'll explain as to why I'm doing 4 stars towards the end. Came here for the Christmas eve dinner with a reservation and they did not disappoint. There was no wait and we were seated immediately. Now the food part. We ordered the Prince Edward's steamed mussels. The white wine sauce was absolutely delicious. I've had plenty of these and the sauce sometimes comes out too garlic-ky. The appetizer came with a side of frites and it was a good extra app. Now the main dish I had the tornuedos which was filet medallions with scallops. The scallops were perfect and the medallions came to me just how I asked for them [medium- rare] with green beans. This was the perfect size plate. My partner had the filet mignon. The filet mignon was a 8 out of 10. Only because it felt like it was missing some saltiness so we added salt and pepper but it was cooked like he asked [medium-rare]. No harm to that. Then for dessert we had the creme brulee. Just so good to finish after the meals. Our waiter was so nice and always stopped by to check on us and keep us updated. He did apologize as to our dinner taking long but I get it was busy. The 4 stars was the wait of the food. If they would have came out fresh I'm pretty sure they would have tasted better. But seems like our dishes had been sitting a little that they came to us warm-cold. If it were on the hotter side it would have probably tasted better. Mussels and steak should be served immediately to obtain its best taste. But overall a nice experience and we loved our waiter.

I honestly have never enjoyed myself as much as I did. The food was phenomenal!!! This was my first time and first meal in New Orleans and this restaurant set the tone for what great cuisine should be. I ordered the Bananas Foster-tini, seafood gumbo, crab cake napoleon, and the fried bread pudding beignets... The crab cake was decadent and rich. The gumbo was earthy and filled with flavor as if cooked for hours. The Bananas Foster-tini tasted great and actually had alcohol in it. It wasn't watered down. The fried bread pudding was the perfect ending to this decadent meal. They themselves were crunchy on the outside and yet soft and delicious on the inside. They were covered in powdered sugar with a side of whipped cream and a rum sauce. Simply Devine!!! I liked it so much I ordered another dessert to go to give to the young lady at the front desk of my hotel. I wanted to share that experience of taking that first bite and seeing pure enjoyment on her face. And sure enough she enjoyed it just the same. The staff was amazing... A couple of gentleman named Kendrix and Robert made sure I was pleased with what I ordered. Again simply AMAZING!!!

Briquette should be your next dining experience in New Orleans! Brunch and dinner menus have a variety of dishes to meet all taste palates! I've been
here a few times before with a 10+ experience, every visit! You can ALWAYS get a table at Briquettes!
This review details my experience in April 2022. The noise level and ambience was the perfect setting to enjoy the company of my mother in law and sister in law. Our server Jason was attentive, friendly, and served every dish HOT! Food was amazing Cocktails
and mocktails on point!
The highlight of our dining experience was being greeted by Briquettes owner Al Tusa. Al was vivacious and friendly. He gave a brief overview of the history of the restaurant, and menu selections.
Great dialogue! He showed generosity by escorting my mother in law to the kitchen area to meet the Chef to learn more about the dishes and desserts served. This was one of the most memorable dining
experiences! I will definitely be back to connect with Jason and Al! Reserve on OpenTable, asap!

Hit and Miss! The hit was the Mussels with fries! All I can say about the mussel appetizer was outstanding and large! I would go back in a second for the Mussels! I also had a filet that was good. The miss of the night was the chicken Marsala. Sadly the chicken dish was very wet and over whelming with marsala that had not cooked out of the dish. Might give the place a try again as I would go back for the mussels but just was not as good as it could have been.
Dwight Hobberechts
My first time at Briquettes! Great environment. Great service. And my Snapper Pontchartrain with lump crab meat and roasted vegetables was delicious!
Steven Toffel
Got the redfish and filet mignon and it was fantastic. Great atmosphere, service, presentation, and food. Fresh ingredients. A tad pricey but we felt it was worth it.
Scott Bradley
The wife and kiddo went to have dinner here. The service was great. Very polite staff. I ordered the Filet mignon with the baby green beans and let me tell you, it was phenomenal. The arugula under the filet soaked up all the butter and when eaten with the steak was just awesome.
Chris Kemp
We went to New Orleans for a five day food tour and this was our first stop. I have to say this was our favorite out of all the places we went. The food was amazing, I can still taste the scallops and the fillet medallions from the district tournedos. This will be our first stop when we return!
Charissa “Beah” Nag
Stopped here randomly for dinner. Our water was a kind man. Explained the food well and was very attentive. I had wine and sea scallops. They were “chef’s kiss”. So soft and tasty. Then I tried the fried catfish. It was very good but very large portion. My husband got the red snapper dish. He thought it was very good. Overall a great experience.

My family and I ate at Briquette this evening and the meal was absolutely delicious! Our waiter Will was outstanding and helped us have a great meal! The mussels were to die for and the meringue left us speechless! We would definitely be coming back here on our next trip!
Angelica Orozco
We were welcomed by staff who enjoyed where they worked, the service was excellent, the food was excellent, and the cocktails were delicious. I would absolutely come back here. The only thing they could improve upon was their creme brûlée. It had more of a flan consistency and was more dense than I’m accustomed to. Dinner was amazing though and I was impressed with how efficiently the whole place was ran.
Randal Ernst
We had a wonderful dining experience here, thanks to Will (our excellent server) and delicious food. Highly recommend the Caramelized Sea Scallops as your first course. Best mains we've tried include the pan seared filet medallions and sea scallops (perfectly cooked) and some of the best catfish (New Orleans Catfish Platter) you will find in New Orleans or anywhere. Go hungry, as the portions are large. I do wish is wasn't quite so loud, but you rarely get it everything. Will go back.
Alexander
Flowery over analyzation not needed. This was the best meal I’ve had all year. Highly recommended.

Amazing service and food. The dishes were flavorful and delicious. Our server Patrick was attentive and genuinely friendly. Great Cajun Bloody Mary. Highly recommend.

Absolutely the best!! 10 of us recently visited Briquettes for a 50th birthday celebration. We were treated to a private craft cocktail class and a delicious three course lunch featuring a perfectly prepared Trout Almandine courtesy of Chef Peter Isaac. The highlight of the afternoon was getting to work with our bartenders Timmy and Toby who were beyond professional and engaging. They were friendly, knowledgeable, and so accommodating. Timmy, Toby and the entire staff at Briquettes made our experience a once in a life time Memory. We will be back!! Thank you so much!

I visited Briquette for brunch with a friend. I really liked the atmosphere and the service was good. I gave it 4 stars because their website is misleading. It needs to be updated with current hours as well as their hours on Google.com. I’m sure they will get much more business when this is changed. I enjoyed my food (chicken and waffles) and was very pleased with the Bourbon syrup. Parking was easy and convenient given the location.
Alethia S
Went to the bar only there was only one bar tender and you could tell he was pretty much over it. It was easy quick access as it was near our hotel. I will say their stuffed bread pudding beignets are good.
K Queen
Esthetically beautiful location with delicious Old Fashioned drinks and Wine...just be prepared to drop a pretty penny with parties over 3

Got info from Groupon, food average, not bad not good. Little salty. Main course ordered district tournedos, flavor good but put bread bottom which absorbing all juicy, fatty feel. Lost my appetite. Ahi Poke was missing tuna, much much sour and salty as imagined. Skip it. Waiter kind little push for liquor, market price food. Specially the guy smell Terrible, guess body odor plus perfume, OMG
Tony Hayes
One of the best meals I've ever had, with absolutely outstanding service.
I've been thinking about the fish ever since we left.
I was blown away by our starter, which was Gumbo, but the fish took me to another planet.
Anytime I'm in New Orleans, I'll be eating here.
Joel Yu
Very mediocre experience all around. No music playing, so the atmosphere was uncomfortably quiet. My entree was supposed to come with a side of bread, which they ended up not serving and not having in stock. The server did not take the time to even plate the sandwich roll see served as the replacement. It came in a paper bag for me and another dinner to split on our own. The vegetables were overcooked.
Elizabeth Broekman
Where do I start? I have been going to Briquette for intimate lunches and dinners as well fo so many years. As organized un and...large unorganized lunches. Briquette makes it happen. The owners are driven to give the best service ever. I have eaten here so many times and consistently had delicious, hot, and large meals.

I ended up here two nights in a row on my trip and was not disappointed either time. The scallop app was probably the best thing I ate my whole trip. The bisque was on point and goat cheese crawfish quesadilla was insane. The first night I got the "floating island" dessert which looked like an amazing and huge piece of angel food cake, but it turned out to be merengue. Not my cup of tea. Still, overall, the food, ambiance, and overall experience was great.

We had an exceptional dinner presented by Guy and his team . I especially liked the Turbo, first time I’ve ever eaten that fish it was delightful ! Everything from the food and wine to the service provided by Darrell was 10 stars! I can’t wait to return to New Orleans and have another special meal at Briquette! Lynn and Karon Jaynes
We made it back to Briquette, The dinning experience was exceptional. I enjoyed the Creole Gumbo and Speckled Trout , delicious! Be sure to try the Briquette 75 ,we loved it. Thank you

An excellent restaurant in the Warehouse District with super staff. Authentic and old school. The fish was super and the group I took was very pleased. It is not quiet or intimate

My husband and I tried out Briquette on a recommendation and it did not disappoint! The place was packed on Friday night and we were lucky to get 2 seats at the bar. The bartenders were fabulous and gave great recommendations.
To start our meal off we had the Broiled Oysters Rockefeller and Lump Crab Bisque, so delicious. For our entrees, we had the Louisiana Redfish on the half Shell and Snapper Pontchartrain, each dish was amazing. The heirloom pommes frites were unlike any other potatoes we'd ever had!
We even had the pleasure of meeting, AJ , the owner. AJ cares about your experience and it shows in the meals and ambiance he's created at Briquette.
We look forward to going back next time we are in town or possibly trying out one of his other restaurants.

This place was absolutely awesome! The food was perfectly done. Flavor, balance, presentation. All were done with the customers satisfaction in mind. We got there just after the doors opened around 5:15pm on a Saturday. There were a few people there, but plenty of open seats. We were given a tour of the kitchen area and not only shown the fresh fish on display, but also educated on them as well. We got to meet all the chefs including the executive chef. The whole experience just felt welcoming. Our waiter Darrell was incredibly attentive and personable. Anything we may have needed was addressed immediately. Although Briquette is a higher priced dining experience, I feel that based on the quality of food and service received, it was worth it. My only regret is that I should have worn a polo shirt. Not that anyone said or alluded to it, but I felt I should have dressed more business casual. Regardless, my wife and I had a great time and left full and happy. Our food that we ordered was: Caramelized Sea Scallops with a delicious fried goat cheese grit base (my favorite), Louisiana Redfish on the Half Shell, and Snapper Pontchartrain (which was our favorite entree). You can't go wrong with any of those items. Well done Briquette!

Long wait
Food was so so
Great if you are looking for big portions
Dara Coleman
Excellent experience start to finish. The appetizer was a huge portion and the mussels were to die for. The sauce was beyond delicious. The entrees were also incredible and the portion sizes were good for the price. The cocktails were fabulous and the dessert was out of this world. Definitely a new favorite spot in the city. Hats off to the chefs and the waitstaff. There was one gentleman doing everything alone at the front of the house and he handled each role skillfully. Can’t wait to go back.

First time in New Orleans and this was our first meal here and let me tell you it was a 10 star experience. From meeting Patrick our waiter and the entire course we devoured. All was so amazing had a groupon which i had zero issues with. And Elizabeth the manger was so nice. Overall loved loved loved this place. Amazing thank you Patrick again and happy early bday to your daughter.
Laura Ursprung
The food was good, though a bit much. But the atmosphere was just ok. Also, the wine menu was simply ok- this was unexpected given the wine enthusiast rating. Service was good.
Ann Premazon
Will being in New Orleans itself is just an unbelievable dining experience and last night we ate at a very well known chefs restaurant and I've got to say that this food was actually better. Our waiter Keith was a doll and things came out of the kitchen very quickly he got it us to what each person at the table wanted and he didn't steer us wrong. For an appetizer we had the scallops on the Grits oh my goodness it was delicious. Another person had the gumbo for an appetizer and said it was out of this world. I had the half fish with the crab and shrimp on top it was so good I mean literally I feel like I should go back every night that I'm here and my friend had the steak and he loved it. For dessert creme brulee you think you've had it a million times and then you tasted here and you're like this is what I've been missing it was so good. Can't say enough make reservations it will be worth your time. I thought the prices were very reasonable I would say for a large meal, salad, appetizer, and desert you're looking at about $50 to $75 a person. This is not including any alcohol. Enjoy!
LeeAnn Mell
I had the Crawfish Mac and cheese appetiser, visiting fish (red snapper) for dinner, Molasses Factory Foster and chocolate espresso for dessert. The appetizer was so good and well balanced. The fish was delectable, so well cooked. The dessert shouldn't even be legal it was so good. Our waiter was attentive and handled our wine service with ease and style. I will definitely revisit this place the next time I'm in town.
Sara Teichman
Second time here! Great service and the food was tasty!
David Spata
Surprised by the hospitality and quality of food. We met the owner and got invited in a tour of the kitchen. This place is top notch and their kitchen staff take so much pride in what they do. I had the sword fish which was fabulous with plantation mash which I did not share because it was so good. My buddy had the full redfish which was really good and the sweet potatoes brulee was like dessert. I highly recommend this place and will be returning next time in town.
Carol Hutchison
Best new restaurant in town! OMG words can't describe how delicious everything was! The scallops appetizers! The fish! The filet! The bread pudding beignets! Magnificent!
And having Darrell as our server... perfect!
And we got a personalized tour of the kitchen by A. J. Tusa, the owner!!!!
One of the best dinning dining experiences in NOLA!
Beargirl69 Hippiechickin
Fine food, great service and got to go back and watch the chefs. We asked questions and they were happy to answer. Clean kitchen, chefs were so friendly and informative. You can tell, they love what they do. Bartender and the owner were telling us the history. Owner also owns several other successful restaurants. Big open kitchen and dining room. You can see the kitchen from any seat. Dessert was a spin on king cake, that was to die for! Thank you, to the staff and owner, for a wonderful evening.
Lorraine Campos
Thanks to Groupon we discovered this spot in the warehouse district. It was scrumprious! Dress up and enjoy an amazing dinner here
Karen Dragon
Ate here for Thanksgiving. The restaurant is beautiful, the service was top- notch, and the food was incredible. It's definitely worth a try
Aida Martinez
First time on this restaurant and definitely it won't be the last if I find myself again in NOLA. The ambiance very classy and relaxing. The food
was outstanding from the shrimp po'boy, salmon was very delicious with side item of grits out of this world with cheese and to complete your meal a pastry with dark chocolate syrup and ice cream.
Prices very reasonable for the amount of food that you receive. The server was very attentive and friendly. We were there on July 9.
Tomaneka Fortune
The absolute BEST food and drinks I've had in a long time! The crawfish hash was to die for!! Ask for a side of etouffee sauce with it(you'll thank me later) 😉 …
Mister Dan
Definitely a 5-star experience. Tony was an exceptional waiter, frequently visited the table, but not overbearing. Food was perfectly cooked, from the appetizers to dessert.
Dan Vandenberg
We had a Groupon to get $30 off of our meal, and it was totally worth it.
Note: mussels at the bar for happy hour are TOTALLY worth it for $5!! Brussels sprouts, not so much.
As for the main meal, the catch of the day and the NOLA special redfish / red drum were quite delicious, worth every penny. Get the whole fish, if you dont mind doing a bit of de-boning work, as you get much more meat for a lower price than with the fillet dinner.
Dessert: their Cloud Cake is a merengue type of soft, slightly chewy cake that is definitely an experience! I have never had a cake like this, and it was pleasantly light, with a slight sweet citrus to it.
Ambiance is beautifully private and attention is paid to many details, such as wiping down the wine cooler glass when it gets to foggy.
Jenny Redo
Great, friendly and efficient service. The poke' appetizer was fabulous. However, the snapper and the green beans in my entree were slightly overcooked. Loved the floating island dessert!
Marcin Herba
It was past lunch time and way too early before dinner (2 PM) when we visited the restaurant. I just wanted to try out different seafood meals/components. The waiter went to the kitchen and asked if I could get a platter mix of lunch and dinner not mentioned in the menu and they agreed. It was really good and the service was excellent. We were also quite underdressed (shorts, shirts and sweatpants) but were openly welcomed. I very much appreciate the service and my visit there. I agree with some of the feedback here that this is more a $$$ restaurant rather than $$ but it was totally worth it for me.
Del Gado
We went there on a Tuesday night (date night) around 7:30 the Restaurant was pretty empty 2 large parties that’s it. Waiter was soft spoken. Food was good nothing to brag about it. Pretty venue, street parking is pay to park.
Shawna Carter
The greeting host was condescending and made us feel unwelcome since we didn't have reservations. He made it difficult to sit at our table stating that we would block another table (with reservations [an hour later]) if we didn't all sit on one side.
HOWEVER, our server Daryl was great! Knowledgeable about the menu and helpful with selections.
Zack Davenport
I went here with a group of six other people, and we enjoyed almost everything about this place. It just opened up a few weeks ago, so it is still not very well-known. When we came in at 5:30, there were only two other tables with people. Their website leads only to a link to make reservations, but you could easily get a table just by walking in from the looks of it when we visited.
The restaurant is located in an old molasses mill from the 1800s that sat empty for years until converted into this restaurant. The wide, bright kitchen is glassed in at the back of the restaurant, allowing you to see the chefs in the process of making your food. The staff dimmed the lights as the sun started to go down, making the large, open space feel a little cozier.
They begin by serving complimentary cornbread with a gravy-like cream sauce, which was very different from a standard bread service, but very good. Our group got two appetizers: one with octopus and shrimp, and another with almond-crusted shrimp. Both were very good, but the sauce that came with the octopus was good enough that our waitress offered to bring out toasted bread pieces to dip in it. Some people in my group got cocktails, which they said were very good and unique, but some were a little small.
For my main course, I got the Grilled NY Strip, which is served with "Crispy Oyster Jewels, Bleu Cheese, Brussel Sprout Hash, and Chive Demi" ($34), and the Andouille Buttered Fries ($7). The food came relatively quickly, and it all came at once, which is nice in a big group like ours. The entire wait staff was very polite and professional, and they were quick to clear empty plates or refill drinks, sometimes without us even noticing.
I ordered my steak medium rare, and it was perfectly cooked and very flavorful and tender. Although I would have appreciated more than just one or two oyster jewels, they were a nice addition to the meal. I'm not much of a Brussels sprouts person, but the "hash" that accompanied the steak was quite good. The side order of Andouille fries came in a small but deep bowl that allowed the butter and cream to pool at the bottom and get soaked up nicely by the fries. They were therefore very rich and were a good pairing with the steak.
In addition to desserts, the after-dinner menu included a selection of interesting coffee-based beverages (one with Tequila) and other drinks. As a group, we got the cheesecake and the "Croux-Nut" (croissant/donut). The cheesecake was not quite what we expected--more like cake with a little cream cheese on it--but was still pretty good. The Croux-Nut, on the other hand, was one of the highlights of the whole visit. It was served with a blueberry sauce and chocolate-bacon shreds, which seemed strange at first but were surprisingly good. The Croux-Nut was light like a croissant but sweet like a donut and surprisingly combined the best parts of both without being too overwhelmingly sweet. It's also one of the staff's favorites.
The manager A.J. Tusa, who owns and operates several other popular restaurants in the area, came to check in on us and make sure everything was going well. He seemed to be a very kind man who operated such a great restaurant. I would definitely recommend visiting.

Apps, drinks, entree, dessert … all presented by the best server ever. Helpful but not intrusive. Flavors were so good we didn’t want to leave.

We found this place by accident and so happy that we did. The cocktails we fantastic! The scallop appetizer just melted in your mouth and the pork porterhouse and plantain mash with pork belly was off the chain!!!!!!! I never eat pork chops out but glad I split this entree with my friend, it is huge and it is phenomenal! Will our waiter was very attentive and knowledgeable but not annoying in the least. This will no become a must when visiting NOLA.
Jeremiah Laxson
Very nice place, a bit loud, but it's NOLA! The restaurant is clean, staff is very welcoming and professional, food is truly outstanding. I highly recommend it.

We had a great Saturday night dinner experience at this place. Their bathroom was clean and welcoming. The restaurant environment was overall welcoming and in a good location. Our server seemed a little distracted because he forgot my cocktail order.. drink service was really slow and we were told that there was only one bar tender available. I did enjoy my appetizer and maim course. My husband enjoyed his food as well. Our server was not very personable but it didn't take away from the experience we had.
Jeff Scott
Some great things some not so good things. Had the Creole Gumbo which was great! The Tournedos were amazing! A must have IMO. The Chicken Piccata also excellent. Drinks were skillfully made and were delicious. Lump Crab Napoleon appetizer was miss represented. Very little crab meat, minced flakes along with small shrimp which is not listed. It’s more of a seafood flavored stuffing cake. King Cake dessert was nearly impossible to cut. Had to ask for a knife and fork. Would not recommend. I would go back because of the entrees.
Taylor
Amazing!! We got fish, steak, and scallops and everything was so good! Unfortunately I can’t recall our server’s name, but he truly went above and beyond! He made sure to accommodate all of our requests, even when it wasn’t necessary. All of our dishes were perfectly cooked. Just overall an amazing restaurant experience that I would recommend to anyone
Randy Huang
We ordered a lot of food, for a party of two: scallops, crab bisque, lox salad, halibut, blacked redfish, ... The flavor profile has depth, the portion was generous, the service was attentive. The wall art (seafood theme) was also interesting and attractive. We got defeated by the dessert (banana flambe) though and food coma ensued. All in all, an excellent meal and we would not hesitate recommending this restaurant.

We enjoyed our time at Briquette, our server Tess was very welcoming and attentive. The shrimp po-boy with fried green tomato was the best thing ever, so were the fries. Chocolate creme brûlée was great too though on a heavy, chocolate-mousse side.
The negative experience came unexpectedly, when I had to suppress a gag reflex when trying to eat the mussels. They smelled a bit...”poop-y”.
Mussels have to be stored in proper drainage and then rinsed before being served, otherwise they end up marinating in their own excrement.
We let Tess know the mussels weren’t safe to eat, we haven’t touched them but did consume all the fries on the bottom (which were sooo good).
We saw Tess dutifully informing chef.
We saw the same mussels being served to other table.
We then saw mussels on our bill.
Spoiled shellfish is no-joke, someone could get very sick.
Making someone pay for spoiled food they didn’t eat?.. come on, chef of Briquette, no way your restaurant is doing that bad.
Rachel Quatroche
The Molasses Bananas Foster was the most amazing dessert! All the food was delicious, but the dessert really blew us away. Service was prompt and not overbearing, really enjoyed the ambiance as well. We will definitely visit again the next time we are in NOLA.

We went there for dinner and had purchase a Groupon voucher a week earlier. Made our reservation at 8pm. It was not full which made our experience a lot nicer and less noisy too. We had grilled pompano with potatoes and purple cabbage, which filled us up. It was very good. The waitress was very nice. We also had their seafood gumbo with bread. The lemon bag is a wonderful tool too!!
Fred Decker
Large, upscale restaurant with good food. Large business clientele for weekday lunch. Weekends can be difficult to get in without a reservation. The Ahi with roast potatoes and green beans was excellent. The blackened shrimp cajun pasta was good, but not to my taste. The macaroni looked like vesuvio, a thick, short corkscrew pasta. Not good with the sauce. And the sauce was more like a broth thickened with corn starch than it was a cream sauce. The shrimp certainly wasn't blackened. It had spinach and mushrooms. So it was fancy and different and I know many people would like it. But not me. I added a ton of cajun seasoning and salt.
Service was slow. In fairness, there were 8 tables handled by 1 waiter, but the place looked empty. 3 singles, 3 couples a table of 5 and a table of 6. Had to keep asking for things the waiter forgot when asked (like cajun spice). Worth going to though and they change the menu. So what you see online probably won't be what they are serving when you go.

Great food and Fun atmosphere

Went here with a group. Everyone had fun and enjoyed the food and a couple of bottles of wine. All of the shared appetizers were great, but I was really disappointed in the New York strip steak which was ordered med-rare and was wafer thin and definitely well done (see picture). The rest of the group had only praise.
Jennette Roberts
Food was excellent! Location was not conducive to French Quarter, but walkable from Harrah's Casino. Check for Groupon.
Lynn Johnson
Pricey but good. Michael took good care of us despite being overwhelmed with many tables to attend to. Food was pretty good!
Missi Cook
To begin, there's a drink/wine list lying around on every table. When I saw that, I kind of figured they get it. A palatable wine list for both the novice and connoisseur at one's fingertips before the conversation ever begins. To the food...The turtle soup that my husband ordered was so good that I forgot to take a pic. However I did get snaps of his redfish (pan fried to perfection) and my duck. You won't find a bone in-skin intact duck shank anywhere else to my knowledge. Look at the photo...the skin is crispy and flavorful. Meat is moist and not too gamey. Side note...I could've made a meal of the Swiss chard and pork belly plantain mash that were three sides of the dish. Everything about dinner was completely satisfying and left us full. But then....
I had to ask about dessert. Of course. And so, the pies de resistance was the "floating island" meringue cake. To clarify, this is not a cake made of batter. It is a finely and acutely rendered meringue confection that looks exactly like a piece of cake, but it's all meringue, so it completely melts in your mouth. Be sure to add a piece of the housemade caramel crackle candy and anglaise to each bite. It is rare to find this delicacy, even in France. My mom used to say there's always room for jello. Well, jello feels like concrete compared to the island. JUST. GET. IT. With a glass of prosecco, of course! ;-)
Kat (or maybe Cat), our server, was always on time without encroaching. Visiting with GM Nic was a treat. You can tell that he holds his title, and the responsibilities that come with it, close to his chest. Hopefully you'll get the chance to visit with him a bit and hear a story.
Hollie Raynor
We had dinner with Michael as our server. I can't begin to describe what a superb server he was!!! Ask for him if you can because he was fantastic!!! Our food was superb! Recommend for anyone visiting New Orleans to go here.
James Frechette
Great food. Apps were smaller scale but very well prepared. Food was also cooked excellent and 4 different dishes were all enjoyed by our group. Service was just ok by waitress but probably an outlier. Most others seemed to get better response times. Good for small groups. Tasty dishes. Above average price point
Jim Richter
Good food, nice space, great service.
Christina McLewin
Nice meal, but they unapologetically charged us $16.00 for table water. So I will go elsewhere next time.
Jared and Erin Miller
My husband and I both ordered the redfish over arugula with fried green tomatoes and shrimp. It was the best fish I have ever eaten! Everything was fresh, hot, well seasoned and cooked to perfection. There was a lemony butter sauce on it that was delicious. I will definitely be back the next time we are in NOLA.
Kevin Hom
Delicious food with wonderful service. If it's fish it's going to be delicious.
Kimberly Contillo
This place was wonderful! We had crabcakes for an appetizer, which were absolutely scrumptious. We all had the snapper ponchartrain dinner. That was also absolutely scrumptious. Our server was very attentive and personable. I was quite disappointed that we couldn’t go back again before we left. Highly recommended!
Pegi Johnson
Had the best grilled.snapper...Toby at the bar was AWESOME....Darrell our server was the best..Friendly, attentive... great atmosphere. One of the best Happy Hours I've been to... Great night at a really great restaurant..We will.return!!!!
Jennifer Martin
Wonderful experience! We have been several times ( we are locals) and have always enjoyed our meal. Tonight Jeffery was the best! Food was out quickly… drink refills were offered. The dinner was great! My husband had the gumbo and the Ahi tuna appetizer and I had the chicken limone entree.
We recommend all! Will definitely be back!
Silvia Märkli García
Excellent food and service in a very nice atmosphere... very friendly staff! We loved every bite (salad, scallops and snapper)!
Brian Beaudry
Sometimes, the extra money and time you spend for a meal is worth it. At Briquette, this was the case. I know I'm supposed to get seafood in New Orleans, but how could I pass on that pork chop? (Note: I did not actually pay for this meal, which made it all the more delicious).
Evan Brown
Came here for the Bubbles and Bourbon Cocktail Brunch and let me tell you: if you are planning a trip to NOLA with your favorite people, come here! The private Brunch gives you the bar to yourselves, drinks are phenomenal, you learn a couple secrets behind the drinks, and food is top notch. AJ and Anna, thank you to you and your team for the great experience, a memorable highlight from our NOLA visit!
Chris Longstaff
Good food, good atmosphere, not cheap, but proceed in line with quality.
Wood Dawg
If you want fish grilled or blackened, you got to make a stop here. They have excellent scallops and a great wine list.
Andrea Williams
2nd time here. I highly recommend the crab cake napoleon and the crispy salmon. My husband had the duck says it was excellent as well.
Federico 1
Nice place - Loved the atmosphere however they tried to sell me a snapper for a branzino... I wish they would not trick customers like that.
Jessica Patterson
Limited beer selection. Took a while before we got a waiter. Once we got service... it was amazing. Got the fish, whole. Husband got the steak.
Nicole Serra
Beyond words how scrumptious everything was. From the drinks to the apps, dinner and dessert, it was all Perfectly Done. Love this place it’s is one of my new favorites and will be on my list to go back when I return to New Orleans. This place is a must on your list of places to eat or drink.
Liz Yuille - Old Stables Crafts (Old Stables Crafts)
Really friendly staff who looked after our large group well. The food was delicious, definitely worth a visit
Mohamed Amen
The host and server were great the food was so delicious 😋 for some reason google would say it's closed buy I recommend calling 📞
carrie parks
Must try if you are in NOLA! The food was great and so was the service! It was mine and my family's meal of the entire weekend. Their scallops were perfection for a starter and the everything was wonderful, right down to the bread pudding beignets.
John Daugherty
Excellent high end food and a great wine list. Redfish in the half shell with crawfish relish is a must!
The restaurant is a bit noisy due to poor acoustics, but it's a beautiful space, and the food and service more than make up for the noise. We would go back for sure.
Niall King
Slow pushy service, wine list is average and expensive. Food was ok. Super expensive for value of what you get. Would not go again. Starter scallops were fine but the fried cheese grits were over cooked, I wanted halibut but was pushed into some red fish - not snapper. Flavor was fine but again, not well cooked. I asked for coffee as they had many on offer but - got a lot of resistance to even ask - something about a machine. _ I said this is a french press coffee - what machine are we talking about??? It got somewhat a little tetchy that they couldn't serve us a french press coffee that has nothing to do with a machine. All in all dinner was super expensive, the food was merely ok, and the service was very slow to start we waited at least 20-25 mins before we got our drinks order done, and while our server was poilte and he was extremely pushy and didn't let us have what we really wanted. We don't recommend this restaurant for the price. After 8 days of eating in NoLa Briquette was easily the most disappointing.
Alexis Fraser
Bread Pudding Beignets. I would end the review there even though the rest of meal was awesome but those put me in a trance for the next 48 hours of my life and ruined all other beignets forever because they were that good. All embellishment aside, the scallop appetizer with the grit and goat cheese cake should not be missed. Our server was so kind, as well.
Bryan Wohlwend
The food was delicious! Great cocktails as well.
Wendy
The grilled tuna was so good! The sauce was way good! Veggies had very good flavor. Our waiter was very nice.
Heidi Martindale
This is an amazing restaurant and the food and staff are outstanding could not ask for better date night in the Big Easy.
Cheryl Cade
The food here is so good!! Will be back for sure!
Frank Forte
Very lively place. Service was excellent. Food imaginable and totally delicious. I had a pork porterhouse glazed with figs ...awesome! Wife had shrimp pasta..loaded with shrimp in a cream sauce. Another awesome! Owner came around to check how we were doing. Great guy!
Jennie K
What a beautiful atmosphere!! A contemporary and casual dining experience located in the Warehouse District!
Kurt Howard
Nice place with a great location down near the quarter off Fulton Street. They have a very diverse menu that is very heavily geared towards seafood. The service was excellent as well. The reason for 3 stars is the prices were very expensive and the portions were very small. We ended up spending $350 for 4 people with 2 apps, 4 meals and 1 cocktail each. We left hungry…
T. B.
Great food, great service! Happy we found this place!
M K
Amazing seafood restaurant. We went for Christmas eve dinner and everything was amazing; the food, the service, the atmosphere.
Tina Draper
Briquette. The best of New Orleans! Amazing food, cocktails, ambience, and service! Thank you, Anthony!
YMR
Nice NOLA atmosphere. The manager was awesome and solved a problem with our bill quickly. Not a good place to take kids since there weren't any nonalcoholic beverage options outside of water. The food was delicious.
Roach Boi Gaming
This restaurants entrée is on $20+ side. Being Carribean, I had to try the Jerk Chicken entrée . It lacked spice that Carribean families use in it, but was fully cooked and juicy. The rice and peas was spot on. BUT, they served the plantin (plantain) mashed! Ya eyes pass meh. Overall the food (this particular entrée, cant speak on everything else) was good.
katie mccoy
So good! I love that they have windows looking into the kitchen. We went for my birthday and they actually had everyone come out and sing for me! Super friendly staff.
R W
An amazing meal. Outstanding service from our waiter Will. The cocktails! The scallops!! The pork chop with plantain mashed!!! We will be back every visit to NOLA.
Jennifer Snyder
I dont know how to really describe this place other than calling it a culinary masterpiece!
I ordered the skin crisped salmon and it came on a bed of jasmine rice and it was topped with a sweet balsamic Bourbon glaze, seaweed salad, and shrimp (subbed for the crab they were out of). I love salmon but never in a million years would have thought I would have loved seaweed salad as much as I did. It was cool, acidic, and a little crunchy and paired perfectly with each part of the dish. Guys...this is one of those dishes you dream out!
My husband had the shrimp alfredo and he said it was one of the best he ever had. His shrimp were ginormous and the sauce was heavy enough to bind all the components together.
The reason for 4 stars???...the server. Man, he really missed the boat on a great tip. He would often visit his other tables around us, never coming to ours. After our first beverage, we never got refills. I will still come here again because the food....oh, the food!
Mark Calamari
Ice in New Orleans snarls traffic. But $5 Irish Coffee looks soooo inviting. Let's try this cool looking spot.
Great idea. Redfish and fried green tomatoes-spot on. Filet and scallops-wow. Plantains foster and 🍞 pudding beignets? Stop skipping desert. I don't even feel guilty for not making it to the gym. This weather rocks
Matthew Henderson
Wasn't the best food around. The chefs liked to cook with alcohol in almost everything I ate and didn't properly cook off the alcohol so it was like I was having a drink while eating my porkchop. The blackened red fish was really good but again the lobster bisque had an alcohol taste to it. Staff was decent but if you buy a bottle of wine they are at your table every few minutes. If not they come by every once in a while. They are very expensive
DeAnne Shellenbarger
Had a wonderful dinner very nice atmosphere. Creative and uniquely different love the whole fish option phenomenal cocktails very romantic new and exciting
Claudia Washburn
Briquette has amazing food and service! We went there for our family thanksgiving meal and were so impressed. We generally eat big family meals at home because we all love to cook and are all foodies, so eating out can be difficult. But Briquette was a great experience on every level. The service was incredible- we had 6 adults and two small children. Some waiters can be impatient with kids but Elizabeth was on top of every need they had. She also had the kitchen prepare a plate of buttered noodles for them which was so appreciated. Our meal was delicious and perfectly prepared. The house salad was delicious, the oysters and Brussels sprouts were all on point. The blackened redfish was the best I have ever tasted, as well as the snapper, lamb shank and chicken Marsala. Even the fettuccine Alfredo that came with the Marsala was divine. We would have loved to have tried the dessert, but the portions are generous so no room! (Not complaining- we loved every bite). We will de definitely return, and sing their praises to all of our friends. Thanks so much for a memorable thanksgiving dinner.
Julia Ortiz
This restaurant was great and the food was to die for… my steak was tender and juicy… and my drink *Rollin on the river* was great! I recommend it.. five stars and our waiter Timmy is the best..must have him!!!!
Darrell Austin
Had company Christmas party there. Very nice, great food and service.
Denise Reed
Very friendly amosphere Tony is the Best waiter every , Respectable , Compassion.and Funny.

This relatively new restaurant to the NOLA scene was recommended by our hotel concierge and, boy, was she right. Dinner was really excellent with outstanding service provided by Michael. My wife had the Roasted Duckling and I had Grilled Redfish (loaded). Wow! The wine list is extensive, but offers too few wines by the glass. A real shortcoming. However, the Sancerre was quite good. The cost was a bit higher than expected, so be careful. But the experience is exceptional.
Soinia Burgueno
Excellent service and the food was a culinary masterpiece.
Jared Torrez
The food was amazing! The catfish and fries were perfectly crisp and I was so jealous of my wife's meal that I raided the fridge that night and stole it.
John Casey
Good food. Very busy
Gary Branam
After dealing with a rather rude host... He sat us at a bar table when the restaurant was nearly empty. We had a great experience with Ted the bartender. He knew his menu and his bourbon. We had the the gumbo and a catfish platter. Both were wonderful and we left with a smile on our faces.
Emily L
Great food, great service! Especially love the Grasshopper dessert cocktail & the crab napolean appetizer. There were some drunk, entitled guests causing a disturbance and the restaurant staff handled the situation extremely well. Definitely don't hesitate to dine here!
sam Johnstone
Patrick was our server and done an excellent job serving me and my wife on her birthday weekend, and the food was outstanding, and the chef definitely has a very special touch on our meals, I had ordered the red fish which is local, and was very delicious, wife had the ribeye, and had a very uniquely layer potato, similar to a scallop, without all the sauce, very well prepared. Definitely will be back, and was very reasonable for the quality of this restaurant.
Roy Druin
Service was excellent! The food was very good had the reddish on the half shell.
Jim Huisel
The drinks are great, the food is great, the King’s cake desert was outstanding and the service was friendly & personal. Good old southern hospitality. Highly recommend.
Angie M
The ambience was nice and our waitress, her name started with an R, I think Rachel or Raquel. She was so nice and efficient. The salmon and rice was absolutely delicious. So flavorful.
Ryan Lacson
So the food and drinks were pretty good, but then they brought out the molasses factory foster, and it is literally the best thing I have ever eaten. It's a must-have.
Sandy White
Beautiful restaurant. Excellent food. Beautiful presentation. Excellent service!
Martine Ross
The food was delicious! The atmosphere was beautiful and the waiter was awesome.
Alyssa Carter
Our food and drinks where amazing! We got there as soon as the restaurant opened, so we went straight to a table. After eating my gumbo I was full and I couldn’t eat another bite...... but I had to try the salmon.... OMG..... hats off to the chef, my salmon was to die for. The flavor and the crisp on the top of the salmon was absolutely perfection. This is a wonderful place for a date night or when you and your friends want to get dressed and go some where that’s nothing like bourbon st. Lol.
Erin Grahek
We went to Briquette at the recommendation of the Hilton New Orleans Riverside concierge and I am so glad we did. We have been in New Orleans for five days, and this was the best meal of our stay! The food was delicious, start to finish, Darrell, our server was knowledgeable and great. The kitchen team friendly and talented. I highly recommend this establishment and encourage folks to try it out.
Alan Brugler
Excellent food. Both drink service and entree delivery were very slow on a Thursday night. Full house despite being just a couple days after Mardi Gras.
Ann Conn
The food at Briquette has made it through the quarantine in fine style! The sea bass dish I ordered may have been the best I've ever tasted with a subtle sauce and just caught freshness. You can feel comfortable patronizing this fine restaurant.
John Zeron
Somewhat pricey. The food was rather nice. I wanted something that really spoke NOLA. Ordereing blackened redfish seemed right. It was tasty, but I can't say it was very unique among other fish dishes I've had. Now, Timmy was an excellent server. I noticed how he watched from afar for any clue that I might want something. The cooks in the open kitchen worked with panache as as well as obvious skill. Overall I enjoyed myself.
Curtis Cunningham
Almost a five star experience. Our waiter was excellent, professional, articulate, and always came by at the right time, not too often, and not too infrequently. We were the first to enter when they opened and I do not believe that he was a waiter, the scheduled waiter was not yet there. The receipt shows the name 'Toby'. The appetizer scallops were subpar, they were undercooked, room temperature, and pricy at $5 per scallop. My Snapper Ponchartrain, topped with a goodly portion of crabmeat & hollandaise sauce, & my wife's Shrimp Pasta Briquette were both outstanding. We had the vanilla bean Crème Brulee for desert and it was to die for, it was perfect. The hardened caramelized sugar crust make the audible 'crunch', a sign of perfection, when our spoons broke through to as good a Crème Brulee as I have ever tasted. One detractor was a waiter that showed up after we were seated and eating. He was distractingly loud and course of language & actions. However, all things taken into account, our experience was 4.5 stars almost a 5 star.
One Year Ago...
I received a five star experience in quality food, excellent wait staff, really good atmosphere, and reasonable price! 'Tass' was great as she handled every job that I could see, Maitre d', hostess, waitress, and cashier. She was well spoken, very friendly, and gave the correct amount of attentiveness, not too much and not too little. I really liked the grilled red-fish! The restaurant is large, open, and well organized.
Big Will
Excellent food! Jeff was great. His recommendations were good. Trout was very nice! Crepes were AWESOME!
Charlotte DeMott
You need to eat here. We cook a lot of good fish meals at home, but the salmon and Florida swordfish dishes we had for dinner were spectacular. This was my best meal of 2017 (posted dec 14!). This place is classy, yet unpretentious. Relaxed atmosphere with good service. Well done!
Sarah More
Lovely place, fabulous service. Good wine selection. Everyone in our group of four enjoyed their dinner. We especially loved the scallops. My only negative was the seafood gumbo, just not as good as I have had here in NOLA.
Greg Williams
Slow slow dinner. Appetizers were the best.
Christine Miles
What a great experience! A co-worker and I were in town for a conference and this was a recommendation from the hotel to visit Briquette - boy are we impressed that we did! He had the snapper pontchartrain and I had the swordfish - they were both amazing. The fish is fresh (as in the whole bad boys are laying on ice in the kitchen and you can see them!), the flavors are complex and well developed, there is a good array of options, and the portion size is a good value. We also enjoyed the scallop appetizer - it's smaller but so tasty with perfectly cooked scallops. A dessert of plantains foster was the best way to end the meal. I highly suggest you request Michael for your service as he wasv so on point with recommendations, perfectly timed on refills and able to navigate taking orders while never once interrupting. Having been a waiter myself for a solid 15 years, I know good service when I see it. Thank you Mike ;-)
Coushatta Millet
My boyfriend and I had a wonderful time here here, our server timmy was a pleasure, the food was exquisite, and id recommend to everyone. A tad bit pricey but it was completely amazing.
(The grit cake was a lil overdone) but the scallops on top were undescribably wonderful, the crab cake was mouth watering and tasted like heaven , and the crawfish crepes were on another level of good.
Ross Anderson
The flavors were great, but my entree arrived luke-warm. Really disappointing given the price point. The restaurant wasn't even that busy, I just think the kitchen didn't fire the orders at the right time for a table that had chicken and seafood entrees.
Christian La Du
Awesome experience, glad I finally made it here. Tony, our waiter, handled multiple questions about the menu, was very personable, and gave prompt/attentive service all dinner long.
Goat cheese/crawfish crepes and Creole Gumbo for the appetizer course were both delicious. the crepes were tangy, creamy, and light, and the Gumbo was deep and resonant.
Entrees: Duckling Girod was really good and District Tournedos was fantastic. (my choice of wine, chateauneuf de pape, went great with the meal if I do say so myself).
I'll probably try and make the Tournedos dish at home some day soon.
Taryn Alexandros
First timer. I found them on OpenTable and went into this blindly. We did one app, some speciality drinks and entrees. We were surprised at the price because the quality was well above what we paid. Service was great too. Why do they make their kitchen staff wear the funny paper chef’s hats though? It looks annoying to work in.
Debbie Price (Reptiles2You)
Everything was delicious. We all shared about everything. I do not often eat desert but fried ice cream sure hit the spot.
michelle hamilton
Food was great the chef was very nice as we look on him cooking our food. The bread pudding was the worse ever a waste of money. I took it back to my hotel it was dry no sauce for top . The portion is a lot but taste really bad .
Shirley West
A little pricey but good food and even better service
Shari Back
Food and service excellent. Noisy when the place gets full.
Peter Gandl
Good concept with the kitchen open to restaurant. One could always look into kitchen through big glass windows. Server was cortious and obviously well trained in wine knowledge. We received a tour of the kitchen with a show casing of most of the fish. 20min after ordering 2 of our party of 8 had to find an alternative to their chosen fish. It was 7pm and they ran out of the fish they recommended the most during the kitchen tour. We waited almost 1h for our meals, which consisted of mainly a piece of fish, with miniature side dishes. The restaurant was 30% filled. No plates ever for bread and butter knife. The check at the end was in no relation to the service and food presented. Either they lower their price or step up and bring the service and quality they charge for.
Natalie Daniels
Went Saturday for dinner- one of the best meals I have had in the Warehouse district. The service was fantastic- our server Michael was attentive and professional. The owner stopped by to say hello. We had the scallops, crab cake, seafood gumbo(some of the best I have ever had),grilled red fish on the half shell (Delicious!), the snapper and the bread pudding beignets.
This restaurant is spotless and around the corner from a few bars. Give it a try! Get the red fish.
Janet Coleman
Great place for a nice dinner in a relaxed atmosphere.
Amy Limberg
Great atmosphere, nice concept. Service was just ok, it took a long time to be greeted at the table and get started. We had studied the menu and were ready to order before we got water. I'm a server and bartender so I fully understand when it should or shouldn't have taken so long. It was 8pm on a moderately busy Wednesday and I would've been there in half the time. Server never gave his name either. The melon margarita was disappointing, I expected some fresh melon juice in a place like this but after reading the description found it was just a margarita with some melon vodka added, and had too much salt. Food was pretty good but I've had better. There was some originality to the menu so I'd go back and try some different dishes
Nicole P
The food and service were very good!
B Ccf
The price is a bit high. Food is good!
Bill Johnston
We had one our best dinner ever fences ever! Our waiter, Darrell was knowledgeable, helpful and really added to the experience. The food was terrific! We had blackened redfish, swordfish, shrimp pasta, pork porterhouse, lamb shank and beef tournedos. Everyone from Grandpa (me) to youngest granddaughter enjoyed it all.
Sherri Redmon
Patrick was amazing and knowledgeable server. Don't sleep on dessert, dark chocolate creme brulee!!!
Gus Nieves
This restaurant was recommended by the concierge at the Hilton Riverside. She was on point. The decor is modern, within the structure of an old molasses warehouse. The kitchen, visible behind glass was spotless. The food was outstanding and great value for the price.
Roman Weisman
Great service and food. Had red fish with scallops. The sauce under the fish was delicious.
Busboys could do a better job.
Michael McNeil
Fantastic food! Chef Hosie is an outstanding young chef on the rise. Glad he’s finally getting a shot to shine in the city. Good service (ask for Darrell) and atmosphere at Briquette too. Modern, open-concept dining with a great view of the kitchen. Great looking bar area as well. All in all, a delicious dining experience.
Àngel Guimerà
This was the best food I had in 2022. Thank you!
Jonathan Ortiz
Food is great, especially if you want some fresh seafood. They have local and speciality fresh fish. Surprisingly their non seafood items were also really good. I will say their servers do need more training. We were told that they had happy hour specials by the host and when we asked the sever, he said that was only for the bar. We ordered our drinks and asked that one not be too sweet the drink was made sweet and when we took the drink to the bar the bartender blamed the waiter saying he told him after the drink was made and made a new one. I also trying to order a drink with cucumber (which they clearly had in the kitchen) but was told they didn't have any cucumber. All in all food was great but service suffered. I might try to give this a place another shot but not sure.
Christine Bates
Food was delicious, had the Snapper Pontchartrain. Only downfall was there was a large group with lots of small children running around screaming and screeching. Parents just drank and let their kids run around and act like hellians!
M S
The food and service is really good. Great for a nice date night
Charles Conti
Really great food at reasonable prices.
Misti Gaither
Great food and staff ! Enjoyed the luncheon there..
William Hunt
My catfish platter was well prepared and very good. The mushroom soup was excellent. My wife was not happy with how her salmon was prepared, and the manager made no attempt to make it right.

Though their main course fish was spectacular, the attention to detail around it was severely lacking for the price point. The grilled shrimp sides on both plates were overcooked and rubbery. The table bread is accompanied by plastic, sealed cafeteria butter tubs that really seemed out of place for that caliber of restaurant. The cocktail I had was odd too. A "mojito" with cinnamon rum, ginger beer and the usual lime and mint. It was a mess.

I ate at Briquette in March when I was visiting NOLA and I still can't get over how wonderful it was! The food was divine! Everyone in my party had several dishes and everyone raved about the food! The owner is extremely personable and invites new patrons back into the kitchen so he can explain the day's menu and introduce you to the staff. I visit NOLA often and Briquette will always be on my itinerary! This is a must see while in the city!
Chocolat Luv
Will make sure to get there next time to get fullness of happy hour. Only an hour
Benjamin Smith
A fine dining experience. The filet mignon was cooked perfectly to my specifications and all of the dishes had a fine aesthetic. My appetizer was the lump crab bisque, which was perfectly portioned. I will note that most of the menu items are/or incorporate fish of various types. The wine selection was quite extensive, with something for everyone on the drink menu.
Jerome J
Excellent space for a large party, we had a group of ten. Everyone enjoyed the food and atmosphere, we sat directly next to the kitchen window. Kitchen was very clean. Owner stopped by our table twice just to conversate. A++
Devil Dog
Best pork chop I have had in my life.
Only complaint is it was hard to find the front door lol.
Don Brown
Briquette provided a perfect dining experience. In addition to a tour of the kitchen, we were blessed with a terrific waiter - Tony - who was warm, attentive, and informative, and who directed us to spot-on seafood dinners: swordfish, striped bass, scallops, and redfish. We couldn’t have picked a better place to dine for our one Saturday night in New Orleans. Oh, and don’t miss the mussels in cream sauce!
Shona Phillips
OMG the FOOD!!! The Pork Porterhouse and the Florida Swordfish were AMAZING!!! Brandon, our server, was charming, quick to respond, yet gave us time to really enjoy our meal. The space is elegantly appointed and relaxing. All in all an excellent experience!!
Latessia McClellan
Staff very inviting from valet at sidewalk (who didn't park the car, which was nice), to hostess who gifted roses, to server. Great welcome as well from "Papa", one of the owners (special touch that seems to be missing from the dining experience)! Food was excellent and bartender even attempted to re-create a special requested beverage (close, but not a homerun). Would have given a 5 star, but the attention from the server slacked as the crowd came in for Valentine's Day! I will revisit in a heartbeat!
Vernon Henson
Superb dining experience. Had a crew of people and we shared plates. Staff seemed so knowledgeable and guided us through the menu. The best fare was white fish...i can still taste it!!!! Highly recommended
Jennifer Steel-Bourgeois
Spectacular meal. Taking a moment to praise all the good in this world, Thank those who made the evening possible. Magnificent setting in 1800’s molasses factory. Beautiful wordwork and decor. Incredible food, perfect presentations, exceptional service. The most relaxing evening in a long time. This restaurant Briquette is unbelievable! Was so grateful for such a beautiful evening, Hats off to the chef and culinary team and waitstaff. Can’t wait to visit again. Congrats, all at Briquette!
Matthew Hogan
Absolutely amazing. The ghost cheese crepes were extraordinary. Anything with Ponchartrain in the name is going to blow you away.
Mister
Nice atmosphere. Friendly wait staff. Pricey. We both had steaks; they were good, but we have had better. Will return, and try some of the fish, the dessert was good.
Bernice Nash
This place should have lines outside the door! Everything is fresh, well executed, and expedient! They have great wait staff, atmosphere is lively and there is street parking. This is not the cheapest restaurant in NOLA, but you get what you pay for and boy is it good!
Craig Dean
Outstanding meal. I had the Halibut, it was the best meal I had in New Orleans while I was on business there the whole week! My business counterparts had the Redfish on the half shell. Looked fantastic!!! Highly recommend this restaurant! 5 star plus!
Jon Klimek
Fantastic food and great experience.
Joi Olden
Our server Jeff was amazing!!! He made our Valentine’s Day so special. Will definitely be back :)
GREG COYA
Service and atmosphere was great. Eas mot busy but I dont know why. Only been open 6 months. The food was 5 stars. Redfish. Wife had steak and scallops. Even the chicory coffee was off the charts. Dessert was great too. Ask for Michael.
Michael Hooker
Only had appetizers but I had all of them and they were all great
Nicole Ferrier
I had a wonderful dining experience today at Briquette! They just began serving lunch, which is what I went for. I had the Salmon and fried corn grits. Nice size portion and great taste!
EyeOnThePrize NC
Delicious locally inspired dishes. The lack of 5th Star is due to getting dirty dishes (cups & silverware) 3 out of 3 times I have visited.
Kg ThaJerk
Saw a Groupon for this place and wanted to see how it was. If you love to wat fish this is the place for you. I ordered the duck and it was so damn good. This is a really elegant restaurant.
liz abbey
Our meal was very well prepared - his strap back and my swordfish cooked beautifully. The 2 appetizers we ordered were especially good (scallops and the salmon crudo). I found the sauce on the plantain mash to be overly sweet and almost like barbecue sauce. It may have been intentional, but I thought it overpowered everything else on the plate. The portion on my swordfish was a good size but the strap back dish was a little light.
The biggest issue we had was with the service. It was New Years Eve, but we arrived soon after they opened and they were not busy at all when we were seated. Our waiter evidently mis-heard me when we ordered appetizers and brought out a pork belly salad instead of a salmon crudo. No big deal, next time he came by, we politely told him about the mix-up and carried on. A few minutes later a steelhead salad came out and was dropped on the table. Once again we sought out or waiter to fix the mistake. Our entrees came out at the same time we got the appetizer we had ordered.
Mix ups happen - I get that. If that had been the only issue I wouldn't have cared but he seemed angry at us and almost never came back to the table. My boyfriend was never offered another glass of wine or more water for the table. We wanted dessert but he didn't show us a menu, just named a few things off the top of his head. And all the while we waited and waited and waited for him to come by. Overall, he just wasn't very nice or attentive at all. Again, I know it was new years eve and they were getting busier, I am also grateful to all the service workers who gave up their night so we could have a nice meal - but I just can't give them 4 or 5 stars. With so many wonderful restaurants in town, I don't think we'll go back to this one.
Eleanor Burden
Fantastic food, friendly servers, very worth the price.
Dan Herrick
Food was excellent. Service not so much. We had a large party and needed to split checks. Asked, "Can we split 8 checks?" Answer: "No", walks away. That's how it went the rest of dinner.
Doug Dickson
This wad one of the highlights of my trip. I had lamb shank here that were truly amazing. Of all the places I ate while visiting New Orleans this one might have been the best. It was also a bargain compared to the others. It is very near Harrah's. If you must pick between the casino and somewhere else please try Briqette. You will have a better time and pay less. The server staff here is also far superior. The owner must be something special to attract and keep this staff. I will go back every time. I'm in town.
Chrissy V
The food was really good but for an upscale restaurant the staff was not very friendly and a little slow.
hlau sf
Came here to cap off my last night in New Orleans and it was one of the best decisions I made all trip. We had the worlds best server and the food was one of a kind. I loved the whole snapper and all the unique Briquette dishes. Oh yeah, we had foie gras for dessert. I didn't even know that was possible.
Greg Smith
Our best meal in NOLA during our last visit February '22. Fantastic service and great high quality food.
Big Target
This was, hands down, the best meal I had in NOLA. We did a three course meal and it was splendid, every detail. Wait staff was excellent. Do yourself a favor and dine with these folks!
Joe Pizzacalla
A little pricey if you don't obtain a groupon or visit during happy hour, so that's my 4 star vs 5. Fast friendly service and great tasting fresh seafood! Went here as an early Valentine's with my lovely girlfriend and was not disappointed!
Jessica Koch
The food was delicious! Ordered the Peppercorn New York Strip. It was cooked to perfection. Toby, the bartender, made us the best drink, a Briquette 75. It is their version of a French 75 and it is way better.
A Walker
Red fish was the bomb! Great locale and waiter
J Munn
The food here was amazing! I had the steak and scallops and it was probably the best scallops I’ve ever had. My husbands potatoes were also fantastic. Super friendly staff as well.
JB N
The salmon looked amazing. Good staff. Fried cat fish is about 2 lbs of fried and four extremely tiny pieces of cat fish. Left hungry as I was looking for a decent sized portion of catfish for an entry.
M Scott
Food was great. Good service. Snapper
nathan case
Good selection for cocktails. Bartenders professional. Food was quick and cooked very well.
jonathan kendrick
Outstanding decor, literally no one in the restaurant at 6 PM on a Sunday night. Even with no one in the restaurant, water was not filled up in an expeditious manner, appetizer took a noticeably long time, and prices are at levels that warrant above average food and can't say that was the case
Candace
Delicious food!! What a discovery this was for me and the fam. The Briquette 75 represents. Everything Rachel recommends you should try! I look for reasons to go back and eat here.
Kimberly Kennedy
I was greeted by NAME upon arrival and received the "window seat" that I REQUESTED with a CHOICE involved. Street view window or kitchen. We chose to watch the cooks. TJ our server was VERY attentive (we WERE his ONLY guests) and he invited us to go into the kitchen to meet the chef. We THOROUGHLY enjoyed our 3 course meal and WOULD be regulars IF we lived in NOLA. I HIGHLY recommend Briquette as it's THE BEST KEPT SECRET in NOLA!
David Castillo
I am not much of a seafood person but I was in New Orleans for a trade show and could not go home without trying New Orleans food. I was recommended the Blackened Redfish and my mind was blown. The flavor of every.single.ingredient combined for a beautiful mix. I wish I could go back and have that dish again!
Jason Broughton
Great seafood and chicken dishes. The location is known for seafood southern style.
Will Schneider
We're walk ins on New Year's Eve so we sat at the bar. We still got the full menu. The drink and wine list was excellent and the food was just as good. The service was right up there too.
James LeBlanc
Excellent service. Pleasant waiter. Tony was awesome. Know they have valet service which is a big plus considering their location. Would go back for dinner again. The DuckGirod was terrific.
Christina C.
I liked this restaurant. Good food. But be aware its not made for casual dining. I'm glad they accepted us in, but they did ask my husband to remove his hat before sitting down. No hats allowed!
Kelly Williams
Our group of 6 will never forget this business dinner. The staff were top notch with a great sense of humor, the owner visited us and told us the story of this new restaurant and even took us on a tour of the kitchen of how they do what they do. The food was OUTSTANDING. Memorable experience for sure and hope to visit one of A.J. Tusa's other places in NOLA. Thanks A.J.!
Tracy J. Kelly
Stopped in for lunch. Had crawfish topped goat cheese crepes as an appetizer. Main course was blackened redfish on arugula with citrus butter, and fried green tomatoes with grilled shrimp on top. Finished off with creme brulee. Love the atmosphere and has convenient pay street parking and valet.
Carol MONTGOMERY
We loved this restaurant. I had crab napolean & rich boy po boy & my husband had the best gumbo & shrimp po boy. Our mini getaway was a delicious memory thanks to you:)
Shirley Young
The food was delicious the service was amazing. I would certainly come back again. Good portions. Great bar. I'll be back. Theron Groupon too.
Roshelle Clarke
Delicious. Oysters were on point. Bartender Ted was fantastic. Atmosphere was great. Food amazing. We had redfish and it was awesome.
Sabrina Hampton
James was quick and attentive. The food was good and service was great.
Michael Schirmer
Amazing food not nearly as expensive as I thought I t was going to be. We had Darrell as our waitier and the service was outstanding, never had less than a 3/4 full glass with him.
Robert Price
The scallops are amazing and the chicken and sausage gumbo is my favorite in the city. Highly recommend everything I’ve tried here
Clint Reynolds
Fantastic service. Great chicken and sausage gumbo. I'm not usually a thick pork chop fan, but the pork porthouse is an inch and a half of pork perfection.
B Crafty
Delicious food and service was fantastic. A little bit of a walk from everything else but lots of things nearby (casino). Perfect for a date night or business dinner. Pricing was appropriate for style and preparation of food.
tonia taffaro
I would give it more stars if i could. This place is nothing short of amazing. Atmosphere, service, food, drinks. Highly reccomended. One of the best dining experiences I've ever had.

Briquette Restaurant was very nice. The service was great, food was amazing, staff very friendly, and the overall appearance of the restaurant was excellent. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone. I will definitely patronize this business in the future.
James Stoik
First time customer and loved it. A great open floor plan that allowed private conversations. The quality of food and service were top notch. Will definitely return!
Vincent Turpin
Great service and amazing food. had the Ponterchrain Snapper and the Cured Salmon Salad. Can't believe I forgot to take a photo but also had the chocolate creme brulee and wow!
Joe Lopez
Great service, great food, desserts were amazing, cool that the building was a vacant molasses factory for 37 years. The tables are made from the reclaimed demolition wood. Great nola feel
Laura Smith
What an amazing experience. The food was delicious and the staff was exceptional. Darrell was great and made my husband's birthday dinner an awesome experience.
Jamil Moore
Very good food, friendly service and Darrell our server, and sat 6 people without a reservation unlike a lot of others on a Saturday evening. Good job!
Nadia P
Both food and service were good.
Osa Martinez
Some of the best fish I’ve every had. Huge portions and the food was so fresh and hot. The waiter Keith was very gracious.
Marie Miller
Amazing food and service! Elizabeth - the manager extraordinaire - has the place running like clockwork. Excellent!!
Khalil Mouline
Better than most food places in Nola
Khalil A. S.
I ordered my food to go and ate it at my hotel. In those cases my expectations are near zero, however the food from this place was surprisingly delicious and well presented in a to go box. Well done.
Ki Ki
Jeff our server was fantastic. Added to the dining experience. A good atmosphere and good food.
Tiffany Castilleja
Waitresses and staff were all super friendly even though the restaurant was very busy. The steak and seafood is amazing!
Ken Springer
Opened about six months ago, Briquette is a hidden gem. But go soon because it won't remain a secret for long. It is located in a beautifully converted warehouse, just a short walk from major hotels, such as Loews, Harrahs and the Riverside Hilton. We highly recommend the seared scallops or the crab cake as appetizers and the local catch like blackened redfish with shrimp. There is an imaginative wine list and the bar makes a perfect dry vodka martini. If you ask, the owner, A. J. Tusa Jr., will proudly show you around his establishment. By far the finest restaurant we have visited in the city, which is saying a lot in New Orleans.
Nancy Casperson
Awesome, Food was great. Owner treated our group to a tour of the kitchen. One downer, waitress got a bit grumpy.
Robin B
I enjoyed the redfish n fried green tomatoes, however, I thought the chicken n sausage gumbo yaya was salty. My mother really liked the seafood gumbo!
Matthew Person
Friendly staff and good food and drinks. The fish with crabmeat topping was real good. Filet was not the best but ok.
Dessert beignets were great.
Michael Frederick
Excellent establishment. Food is top notch, presentation was artful and the taste sublime. Nice selections of craft cocktails. I highly recommend the refinery maragarita.
carol Burns
I had your crab napolean & rich boy & my husband had the gumbo & shrimp po boy. Perfection of your food was so enjoyable and memorable on our vacation..thank you!
Erick W
Super friendly staff, but limited menu and the alfredo pasta side was bland.
John Holling
Excellent food and service. The food was delicious, and the service was friendly. Great atmosphere too, although I can tell that if it was crowded, it would probably get really loud.
Katie Carpenter
The scallops and the Floating Island dessert were very good! The fish, which the server claimed to be what they were known for was nothing spectacular, especially considering the price.
W. B
Service was great. Beautiful setting. I got a catfish sandwich which I didn't like but portions are good sized.
Petar Kapet
This is not $$ but $$$ place.
The goat cheese & crab intro was unbelievable and the red snapper was good but not excellent, as was the plantain & ice cream dessert. Friendly service!
Brett Whittington
Wait staff was super helpful and friendly. I had the pork chop and it was amazing!
Mike C
It was 8pm and pretty much empty. I think word of mouth has rated this place. Over priced but fairly decent food. Give it a try but it's not a place you will want to revisit.

This place was amazing. Food and service were top notch. Waiter knew the menu well and was very helpful. Great gumbo!
Kathleen Hunt
Food was delicious, but the service lacked. Also found it interesting they added gratuity for a party of seven. This could be why the service was lacking.
Angele Givens
Beautiful restaurant! The food was delicious. Try the seafood mac and cheese. It was amazing! Very friendly staff, too.
Nesha P
Very nice service everything was great, the food and the drinks. The only thing I found wrong was that the bread wasn't warm and the butter was cold so I couldn't spread it on.

Chicken Penne Limone was GREAT. Service friendly.
Siddharth Vishwanath
The restaurant tried too hard to create a gourmet, artisan Creole fare. The entrées were far too contrived, missing the original southern roots it was intended to showcase.
Lou Bustos
After leaving Manninings restaurant for poor se4vice, Briquette served me with a smile! Thank you for far better service and atmosphere. 5+ Stars!
