Reviews of Bourbon House

We were hungry and looking for a place to get oysters. This was my second time here, but the first time we didn't have a great experience. This time changed our experience and our minds. The atmosphere is cozy and the restaurant space is beautiful.
I recommend their charbroiled oysters, they're absolutely delicious and made so well! It's garlicy and salty, so good. Compared to Acme oysters, I like these oysters a bit more because there's no cheese and feels a bit less heavy. Their fresh oysters are delicious as well, I really enjoy them. They're salty and fresh, tastes delicious and yummy. It is a bit pricey for oysters $21-27 depending on if you get fresh or charbroiled!
Their cocktail drinks are also very good and made well!
We were given bread and butter for the table, crackers, and some condiments for the oysters. Overall, the pairings were delicious and went well together.
Our server was very attentive, helpful, and service was fairly quick. Everything was fresh, delicious, and served timely. I would recommend coming here for oysters, drinks, and a wonderful experience.

I recommend that you reserve your table. Excellent service, I emphasize, the staff will ensure things are right. They also have very good oyster dishes as they are very fresh. A great place for drinks especially the Bourbon if you are a fan. They have the best frozen Bourbon Milk Punch!!!!

Came on a weekend for dinner. The restaurant was fully reserved but we were able to get a table at the bar. I’d high recommend making reservation online in advance to get a table for the best experience in their dining hall.
We visited Bourbon House mainly to try the oysters and the drinks. Among the six restaurants we visited, Bourbon House has one of the sweetest oysters. Fresh and tasty. The Milk Punch is indeed the best milk punch in town.
We also had smoked shrimp & crab Boudin balls and baby back ribs. Both appetizers are decent and big in size.

Went to New Orleans to celebrate a few birthdays and this was the location of the official dinner night. We tried the alligator wings. Very different taste not like chicken. You'll just have to try it to understand. The red fish with potatoes was so delicious,I wish I would have ordered it but I got the white fish. It was good but need much more seasoning. The other two guest with me, liked there meals but were not thrilled by them. The drinks were lip smacking good and I tried all the dessert and the bread pudding was my fav. I will eat here again, this is actually my second time eating at this establishment. All of the waiters and host were so kind and did a great job. Thank you
Megan L (Alexadigs)
First of all, service was excellent. Every staff member polite. The Crab Claws Bordelaise was amazingly delicious. The most scrumptious appetizer I've ever encountered. The Red Fish on a half shell was very moist, and just melted in my mouth. Last but not least, dessert. Banana fosters cheesecake was fantastic as you can imagine, but it was the Bourbon Milk Shake and cookie that caught me delightfully off guard. A scrumptious combo!

The food here was amazing! We started off with their amazing ribs for an appetizer. You must get them!
Then for the entree we ordered Oysters with lobster meat and a shrimp po boy. Everything was so freaking good!
Susan Peele
Always one of my favorite places for oysters but anything on the menu is fantastic. Tried the ribs for the first time and they were the best I've ever put in my mouth! It's been a tradition to sit at the oyster bar to watch them shuck but the dining room is great for a relaxing breakfast when you're hungover!
Daniel Frommelt
The Bourbon House was absolutely amazing! Service was incredible, and it was perhaps the best meal I've had in a decade!
Char-Broil oysters are a must! The flavor was incredible, smokey, and briny all of the same time. A definite pre-order for a great meal.
The Crawfish pasta is definitely the highlight of the meal! Truly a memorable dish with an incredible sauce.
To top it all off, the adult version of milk and cookies is the way to go. If you're going to go down swinging, go down having fun!
Our waiter Anthony was a blast, and very cordial. He was a great wealth of knowledge and comfort. Hats off to him and the Bourbon House!

We visited the Bourbon House on our January 2022 trip. My husband is still raving about his shrimp and grits. We also had the chargrilled oysters, which were excellent, just a tad better than the Acme Oyster House. Shared BLT Chopped Salad. Would return for another meal on our next trip. Excellent.
Erika Robinson
I had an excellent solo lunch here. The waitstaff was fabulous and the food even better! I ordered the gumbo and the daily special. The fish was excellent and the potatoes were so soft. A simple, yet comforting, cajun meal.
Jon Ross
We had Brussel sprouts and gumbo for starters then split the Seafood platter. Server Bianca did an amazing job! Definitely some of the top food in the French Quarter. Old fashions here are okay but I'll try something different next time.
Juan Vila Rodriguez, Tampa Realtor
Great establishment. I had crab and corn soup, just to get my creole taste buds flowing. Grabbed the burger and fries for my entree. The burger was delicious and had a NOLA touch with a Bourbon BBQ sauce, fried onion, and pickle pepper. Staff is friendly, dress is casual, and prices are fair.
Mary Ann
We visited on a recent trip. Our hotel hand picked some restaurants and this was in the list. We had chargrilled oysters, which were very tasty. The rockfish entree was enjoyable and had very good flavor. The bananas foster cheesecake was lovely as was the pineapple upside down cake bread pudding. We enjoyed our flight of bourbons. Wasn’t a fan of the Manhattan, but it was a new drink to me. Prefer an old fashioned. Waitress was very good. Very enjoyable.
Tristan Brown
Got referred to this place by a local saying it was better then ACME and it did not disappoint. The lack of different types of charbroiled oysters is easily made up by the quality of the ones they sever. Hands down the best I have had in town. I was at the bar before the dinner rush. Brittany, bartender, and Perry, oyster shucker, took great care of me. Good people frequent the place including locals who are friendly and easy to chat up.

I call Bourbon House adult Disney World as well as Brennan’s restaurant. Bourbon House never disappoints. I recommend the bourbon milk punch to start off. If you haven’t tried Bourbon House what are you waiting for? Yes that’s the Queen of Toulouse. My 74 year old mom. ❤️🙏🏻🇺🇸🫡
Paul Siano
Spectacular ! We had one one of the best waitresses in New Orleans ! Glenda you are remarkable ! Every recommendation was spot on and made the experience enjoyable ! Every time she waited she was attentive and couldn’t have been more impressed !
She had recommendations for drinks apps and entrees with info!
Spectacular gator wings , Gulf Oysters and poboys !
Great windows to people watch on bourbon street also !

We dined at The Bourbon House while staying at the Crown Plaza. It’s pretty nice, with an upscale look but a casual feel. Of course, they have a great selection of bourbons and the Bourbon Milk Punch was pretty good. The staff and service was really great, and our food was outstanding. We would definitely dine here again.
Patrick Hudelle
The food was fantastic. We had the oysters and the ribeye steak and they were amazing. Our waitress, named Brianne I believe, was very helpful and checking on us at all times. A great experience.
Bradley Tavares
Started with fresh, raw oysters - clean and hardly briny. Shrimp and grits was fantastic, a great blend of savory, salty, and sweet! The lemon herb sauce on the redfish was delightful and the potatoes had a nice kick to them.
Jay Miller
The mixed drinks and the Shrimp & Grits were the stars of the experience. The service was friendly and everything was clean. I am giving 4 out of 5 because half the food was bland and they messed up the order (they took the appetizer off the bill after it never arrived at the table).
Shawna Boden
My friend and I had a delicious lunch at the Bourbon House. We ordered the charbroiled oysters as an appetizer and shared the fried chicken of the swamp entrée. It was really good and the service was wonderful. The restaurant has good ambiance and is very pretty inside as well.
David Rivero
New Orleans presents many choices when it comes to Seafood… we were glad we got to experience this one. Yes, it is a bit upscale for what we usually do, however, the soul of the food is authentic creole, and it has the original NOLA taste. Do not leave without trying their Frog Wings. You’re welcome!
Overall, a great experience. Also, the service is SOOOO NEW ORLEANS!!! Is like going for dinner at Granny’s table. Strongly recommend.
Tiffany Barber
We came here for their oysters!! Their grilled oyster could have used more flavors besides just butter but their fresh ones though!! They’re better than most of the places I’ve ate at in NOLA. I would recommend trying their fresh oysters.
Bridge The Gap
We were walking down Bourbon Street and decided to get dinner. What a great choice?! Everything we ordered was delish. Our fav was the Prime Ribeye, Burger, Shrimp and Grits and Brussel Sprouts. Totally worth every penny. Our Server did a remarkable job too.
Brandi Rossman
Excellent choice for dinner. Top notch service, unique drinks, and a great ambiance. Gluten free options. We tried both raw and charbroiled oysters. Yum! I had the risotto. It had a bit of a kick. Husband had pasta. So good!
Melyatta Powers
The shrimp and grits were amazing!!!! So flavorful! I have resisted going for lunch daily so that I can experience other NOLA eateries, but could easily go back......A LOT!
Samantha Bell
Their frozen bourbon milk punch is one to brag about and definitely beats the heat. Amazing shrimp and grits, would order it everytime! Would also recommend the short ribs. All around great food and staff.
O “Mr. Review You” Cally
Besides the hostess making us feel like we probably couldn't afford the place everything was actually awesome even Doug who served us was awesome and so far they actually have the best gunboats I've had at a restaurant in New Orleans outside of a local shop not in tourist area...and don't be afraid to go in here if you're not dressed up because it's customer friendly regardless of how someone may unintentionally act. And gumbo is constantly great choice hands down
Big Traveler
We had dinner in a meeting room with a set menu. Gumbo, salad, grilled fish, and upside down pineapple cake. All of it was prepared well. It was heavy on the pepper but that’s about my personal taste. The servers weren’t in your face all the time, but could have come around more often. Overall I am glad I was there, but may not come back with all the options out there.
Charmaine W
Selected this restaurant since it was attacked to our hotel and I was looking forward to having authentic creole cuisine. Our waitress was great but I was not impressed with our order. I had the gumbo which was a small portion and it wasn’t a lot of meat and it was luke warm. The drinks were good and our waitress was sweet when we expressed our dissatisfaction.
Emily Redman
Service was slow but very thorough once they got to us. Sat at the oyster bar where Perry explained why the brick was worn through some of the stations but not others. Bourbon choices were massive!
Becky Clark
Fantastic for happy hour! Oysters were $1. They were clean and fresh. They weren’t the most amazing oysters, but for the price you cannot beat it. Service was fantastic. The bourbon milk punch is a must get. We ordered after the bartender recommended it and were not disappointed. It tastes like a milk shake loaded with bourbon. Would definitely do happy hour here again.
john aparicio
Great atmosphere! Loved the charbroiled oysters 😋 topped with 🦀 meat! And that fried gator! Drinks were amazing as well!
Jon Pugeda
After a visit at Acme we were on a mission to try as many oysters in The Big Easy as possible. This place was top 3! Meaty oysters, freshly shucked, and a mean bartender all in 1. Drinks were poured just right and the company and atmosphere did not disappoint. Highly recommend this establishment.
Glamour Bot
The food was absolutely phenomenal. The place was beautiful, clean, fancy. The people there were so sweet. Unfortunately I didn't catch the waiter's name but he was really nice, funny. The service was great. Everything about this place is amazing.✨
Cherie Lindsay
Took hubby here for his birthday while at a conference and OMG....so delicious. Lauren took care of us for the evening and AMAZING is the word that best described the service provided!!! Lauren was so sweet, and answered all the questions we had we had top-notch service all because of the food and Lauren! Besides the apps pictured I had the Red-fish on a half shell which was delicious and hubby had the BBQ shrimp Po Boy....he didn't particularly care for it but said it wasn't bad....just different. Then for dessert I had the Creme Brulee, which is my ALL TIME FAVORITE dessert and it did NOT disappoint! Hubby indulged in some bourbon...duh....it's Bourbon House, which he enjoyed. Besides the man who took our picture outside the window and tried to sell it to us, it was a delicious and amazing dining experience. Did I mention, how absolutely amazing Lauren was, lol!

여기 완전 강추합니다, 한국인분들! We just 'happened to' enter this restaurant just because ACME was closed next door, but I feel like I accidently found the BEST restaurant in New Orleans!!!!!! My server, Matthew was super nice and all the foods that we ordered were beyond our expectations! The hall was enourmous, didn't require any reservation during weekdays, raw oysters were super huge but were served at the price of $19, which was unbelievable to New Yorkers! We ordered raw, charbroiled oysters(I prefered raw), shrimp&grits, baby back ribs and all of them were awesome! I want to recommend this restaurant to y'all!
Jennie Rountree
My husband had the shrimp poboy and I had the catfish poboy. They were both crispy on the outside and very tender and juicy on the inside. Both plates came with very good handcut fries. Our server was very attentive and friendly. The interior of the restaurant was interesting with all the different types of bourbon on display.
Cindy Keely
Located on Bourbon Street, this restaurant provides a quiet atmosphere and tasty treats. Sampled raw oysters, corn and crab soup, Brussel sprouts, and House burger. All very good.
Steven Dykeman
I had the fried catfish. It was very good. The aligator appetizer was different from others that we have had, but good. The other three in my party enjoyed their food as well. Of course you should try a sample of bourbon to make things complete. That is a nice treat. The waiter was nice and also knowledgeable. A slightly upper class atmosphere.
Jamie Engel, Florida Keys Real Estate
Just ask your server for recommendations and you can’t go wrong…or at least we didn’t. Jasmine gave us perfect choices from appetizers to cocktails an our entree.
KJ Beach
Most all was good and Tom our waiter was great. Hostess was borderline rude. We came early for our reservation and there was plenty of seating available. For some reason she tried to stick us in about the worst table in the place. We asked for a different table and she said other people have reservations too. We said but we are here now. She took off and turned us over to the other hostess who ended up being very nice. Put a bad start on the evening.
Lisha's Life
I enjoyed the atmosphere and great service, the catfish didn't have a lot of batter on it which I really like but not enough seasoning. Hubby had the oysters and he was not disappointed of course 😋
Kimberly Hawkins
The food was subpar for the prices. The bright spot was our waitress Ashlii. It was six of us & we had so many questions, but she was patient while making sure she answered all of our questions. She was very attentive as well. The ambience was nice & the drinks were good.
Samson Williams
💯 worth it. Make a reservation. The drinks are strong as hell and the oysters are phenomenal.
Order the creme bruele.
Tiffany B.
Great experience, food was delicious. Redfish on half-shell, highly recommend. The Smoked-Shrimp and Crab Boudin Balls are very good! Service was wonderful. Reservation are a must!!
Heidi W
What a beautiful restaurant. We were say right away for dinner and ordered 3 drinks. Our waiter brought water right away but the did came out shortly after. We ordered oysters, the house salad, kale salad and brussels. They were all great. 1 star missed bc our drinks came out well after our food
Liza Robles
If you're looking for a nice place in the middle of the typical New Orleans mischievousness, Bourbon House is for you. Enjoy the historic ambiance of the restaurant, the fresh seafood and the view of the interesting locals as they walk by.
Brent Patterson
This is a great restaurant on bourbon Street in the French quarter and while I had a bad table location everything I ordered was excellent. What was amazing though was the crawdad over French bread with mounds of garlic, words can't do it justice!
Marcelle C
Gotta get the charbroiled oysters! Brussel sprouts were good too. Service/atmosphere is better on the weekends but food is good any day.
Chhandashiki Das
Hands down one of the best chargrilled oysters in the Quarter! Fresh oyster bar is solid, too. Highly recommend the bourbon milk punch for a drink.
Jamie Holmes
The Flame-Broiled River Bass was delicious, as were the Charbroiled Oysters. And the bourbon milkshake was AMAZING! Lots of bourbon choices. We also did a local flight that wasn't great, but was cheap.
Lindsay Best
Perfect dinner spot in this busy town. If Bourbon is your drink of choice, I highly recommend dining here. They have a good selections of Bourbon and cocktails. If you're looking for a nice dinner to sit down an enjoy I recommend dining here. Destin was informative, attentive with amazing recommendations. They have a Vegan bourbon milk punch but it was sold out. We had late reservations so it was to be expected I had the Kentucky Koolaid and a chicory old fashioned I caution the chicory is an acquired taste. The tables were spaced nicely, I was really happy with all the Covid precautions they were taking. I recommend making reservations as they were not taking walk ins when we arrived. They do offer open seating at the bar. This was a nice place we enjoyed the service as much as we enjoyed our meal.
David Zeledon
Overall solid food, but the gumbo is okay and nothing spectacular. Crake cakes are great and the service is good.
Denise Wamser
Exceptional performance in every aspect. Shon Sr is an amazing matradee! We celebrated a 50th Birthday. The details and attention given were surprising. A great place with dedicated staff and delicious food and those oysters, mmmmm mmmmm good ❤ Thank you to all who made this memorable, tasty, and delightful ❤
W
The bourbon milk punch is incredible - a must have! The oysters were also incredible. Entrees were not as good in comparison, unfortunately. A little pricy, but I'd come back if only just for the bourbon milk punch.
Morgan DiBacco
Some of the best oysters I’ve had in my life - and I’m from Massachusetts!! Come here for sure!! Sit at the bar and watch them shuck the oysters!
Kena Perry
Some friends and I showed up here with no reservations on a very busy Saturday night and we're seated right away. The ambiance was very nice and the restaurant was as well. We did have a bit of a wait as we expected, but it wasn't too bad. The servers were awesome and very nice and on point. The good was brought out a short time later and the presentation was very nice but unfortunately ALL of the food was cold!! But once we called a manager over he handled everything right away with a smile.... So overall if have to say I really enjoyed this restaurant and would definitely go back again! We were even serenaded by some very great sounding gentlemen that were going from table! That was my favorite part!
Jeremy Burke
I was looking for a place to eat without wait and stumbled upon the Bourbon Street.
I had the burger with pimento cheese on it. It was on point and the fries were excellent.
The best part of the meal is the Brussel sprout appetizer. I would recommend anybody ordering that.
The wait staff was extremely attentive.
Anita Hines
Atmosphere was excellent! The staff was friendly. We ate alligator wings, gumbo and bourbon burger with fries.
Amy Schilling
Absolutely fantastic staff.
My husband and I had the ribeye steak and crab remoulade. The crab claws were a nice appetizers and they came hot, smothered in lemon and butter. The Ribeyes were exactly what you're looking for in a steak. They had that delicious charred flavour that only a well seared steak gets and the Tasso gravy on the mashed potatoes was a perfect compliment to the steak.
They also have some adorable gentlemen that sing table side and the restaurant decor will transport you to a time when these men were singing hits.
Reno Black
Food was fantastic, chardroiled oysters and fried shrimp. Great flavor and cooked to perfection
E Jones
I ordered the bbq shrimp po boy. The French bread was so soft and the sauce was delicious. The service was great, restaurant was clean, and the food was good.
Sujal Mungekar
We got place at the bar. They were slicing open fresh oysters. We ate the crab claws and creole oysters with the gumbo. Sooooo good. You must try .
Lisa Cannon
First time there it was my friend birthday the food was ok. The place was beautiful and the service was great. I had the green bell pepper. We all tried something different the fish platter good and the soup was different
Charles Barbarotta
Very friendly staff, nice location on bourbon street, they accommodated us despite not having a reservation. Food was delicious.
Donna Hackett
I wanted to taste pure real crab meat. I ordered a side of it. The kitchen put it into my gumbo as they normally would. The manager brought me out a little on the side with a smile and I just had nostalgia from childhood. The manager was a tall male. He didn't have to. He was just taking care of his customer. That's what a special dining experience is. Thank you Bourbon House.
Melody De Costa
Only complaint the raw oysters were huge and the shells were very muddy. Bourbon milk was amazing!
Jacob Hanke
Had the seared tune and grilled chicken on the side with a Sazerac drink. Tuna was absolutely perfect. Many at my table were jealous. The risotto was a little undone. Grilled chicken had a kick to it but it was juicy. Sazerac was arguably the best thing I had that night. Price was steep. $60 for all the above.
LJ Frost
Had dinner 2 nights in a row. Fried shrimp platter the first night, Brussel sprouts and a dozen oysters the 2nd night. Excellent food and service. Dickie, great place you have here!
Nick Redeker
First time in New Orleans and we had a great experience. We had a reservation for 15 guys at a bachelor party. Some got there early and the hostess couldn’t have been nicer. Our waiter, Jeremiah was AMAZING. We can be a tough group to deal with and he was unbelievable. Food was great, drinks were great & prices were VERY reasonable. Great for big parties - definitely request Jeremiah as a waiter because he can handle big groups.
Jennifer Cotto
The restaurants decor is super cool and they have a very large selection of bourbons. The food was very good however, it is a bit pricey and the service was not great.
C. Kelly
If you plan on eating late it's best to make reservations ahead of your arrival, but to be sure. The food was really good. We couldn't decide so we ordered a few appetizers. The Korean BBQ ribs are sooooo good the meat just fell off of the bone. We ended up getting a second order of them. Pass on the crab finger, they really isn't much flavor. Because it is the Bourbon House I highly recommend trying the Bourbon Milk Punch. It basically tastes like a vanilla bean milkshake with alcohol that you can barely taste! Overall great service and food!
Jessica Buenzow
We sucked down 4 dozen raw oysters and a couple mixed drinks. Our service was delightful. Super grateful to the gent that set up the table for our birthday boy on short notice.
Note: the horseradish here doesn't play games. It's 10x concentrated as any other I've had anywhere else....slowly mix!
Asaka
On the day of Thanksgiving, the store I was looking for was closed, so I entered instead.
We ordered Fresh Oysters On Half Shell, Fried Seafood Platter. Everything is delicious, and the restaurant has a calm and luxurious feel. The price is the same as a casual shop (maybe because it was lunch time), so I'm glad I entered.
Nikki Larry
Food was beyond mediocre for the price. I wouldn't recommend. The atmosphere is nice.
Sudeepta Nair
Ate our Thanksgiving dinner here with a group of 13 people but seated separately as they don't take reservations and does not allow families or friends together due to space issues during peak hours!!! amazing. So we dined in 3 families separately.
Turkey dinner was ok. They missed to give the cranberry sauce to us. Oysters were good- charbroiled- the best. Gumbo for $10 has nothing but a but a flat small bowl size plate of soup and nothing to be seen in it. Don't order.
Food quantity is comparatively less per price. We had to keep ordering after seeing the dishes placed on the table.. Funny!!
Ambience is good but the food is not worth the $$$. I would choose a local casual restaurant right opposite at Bourbon St which had amazing Gumbo/etouffee/jambalaya and other items which tastes the best!! And Fried platter has more of fries than the seafood.. also FUNNY!!
Joel Hawkins
The seafood tower is the way to go to get all the seafood you want. Shrimp, oysters and crab. I frequently think about this platter.
Orlando Miranda
Staff was very friendly, decor was awesome and good was really good.
Deborah Long
The best raw bar in the Quarter! Oysters are always fresh and delicious. My favorite are the grilled oysters; order a baguette of bread instead of crackers. Sop up all that sauce in the shells! Use lemon, no cocktail sauce or horseradish to cover up the taste of the raw or grilled oysters. Excellent Chardonnay and bubbly selection. Bartender and shuckers attentive and friendly! I can’t imagine going to the Quarter without going to the Bourbon House for oysters! The seafood tower and fried oysters are excellent choices too.
Casey Williams
Brandy, was so nice despite the fact we took up a table for apps and drink and don’t get entrees. She was very personable. Out of the four places we’ve tried a sazerac since starting our visit to New Orleans, props to the bartender because they produced the best one! And Brandy was right, when I said I’d fall in love with their char-grilled oysters. T
Hey we’re so good!
Tisha Ayers
Super yummy! I had the Bourbon house salad and the pineapple upside down cake. My friend had a burger and fries, and my other friend had the crab fingers and chargrilled fish. All of us were very happy after our meal! Everything was delicious, staff was friendly (except the rude hostess who made a big deal about us not making a reservation first 🙄- we just sat at the bar even tho the entire place was empty) My friend even went back later to order more crab fingers! Definitely recommend
JAMES EUBANKS
Was an overall great experience from the food to the staff and the beers of course
Erin Gut
We ate here a lot during our stay because it was attached to our hotel. I enjoyed every meal, both lunch and dinner and the desserts I had as well. I would have liked to try more but there was so much! Definitely worth trying out.
Dion Mills
Great fresh food and staff with over 18 years experience working at the establishment and still happy in their work.
Jackson Duvert
The grits had too much oil and the fruits weren't fresh. Everything else was fine.
Alanna Warwick-Smith
Restaurant was full but they made room for our group of 6. Had great conversation with Leo at the oyster bar.
Lauren Sherwin
Wow. The food here is well done! The crab finger starter had us wanting to lick the bowl. We also shared a very reasonably priced bottle of rosé. Our server Noel was such a sweetheart, and very attentive despite having many tables. They seem to be understaffed, and are only seating half of the restaurant at this time. Reservations are a must! Try the creme brulee dessert, you will not be disappointed.
Larry Moore
We weee there for Halloween weekend with friends and family. I had a medical emergency and do not really remember anything, but my wife said your staff was completely amazing. Thank you for being so kind and comforting to her. Hopefully next time I get to actually enjoy my meal.
Debb Partridge
Great service! Food was okay as well. Nice atmosphere!
Thomas Spinner
Still awesome but, i miss that seafood artichoke dip!
Incredible seafood! I'm not normally a seafood guy but! And I mean but! The seafood spinach and artichoke dip with some of the freshest bread I've had in a very long time!
I wish my step-dad snd grandfather were alive to enjoy it!
Then an amazing bourbon reduction sauce on shrimp and grits! Seriously amazing! Check this place out!
Angela Ford
Fabulous gumbo! The appetizer ribs are enough for an entree. The entire meal was delicious.
William Cook
Beautiful restaurant and service was great. We had a local craft beer and a nice syrah wine both were excellent.
The broiled oysters were truly disappointed as a first/second impression. Gritty with broken shell and sand. Lacked flavor. I had the stuffed shrimp and crab on merliton.
This dish was nicely prepared but missed its intended destination by a mile.
Althea K
The shrimp and grits was so good. Wait times for food was a little lo g, but glad to have stopped there. Some usual bourbon selections were missing from the menu but they had plenty of ones I've never had the opportunity to try before.
Nicole Lankford
Cool spot! We stopped in for some drinks, a bourbon flight and a light lunch. Service was phenomenal. We had some oysters, gumbo, and the crab fingers. All were delicious. Bathrooms were super clean. I highly recommend this restaurant.
Tricia Marshall-Ferguson
The food is delicious. The dine-in customer service is better than the take out. The young men in white shirts and yellow ties exhited excellent customer service! The bar and take out servicers were not as attentive and the one who served me didn't even say thank you for the tip.
However, the day manager of the bar and to-go orders, who appeared to be Asian (I'm sorry I'm not good with names), was amazing and kind even in the mist of the rushes! I watched her work 2 days in a row. She was kind to me and very attentive.
Again, the food was delicious ALL 3 DAYS I was there! Thank you!
Kim Bryson
All food mediocre. Shrimp and grits had this super dark roux like sauce. Not my taste. Went for holiday business lunch. Place was almost empty. If you like bourbon it's the place to go.
tony urbanski
Table service and food was great! Apparently the bar was under staffed as we had to wait approximately 30 minutes for our drinks. This delay was a surprise since we were dining at 3:00 PM. This delay threw off the delivery of our food since we wanted to enjoy cocktails before the food was delivered. Additionally, an order of expresso came long after we finished dessert because it also had to come from the bar.

I really enjoyed the oysters and another plate I ate here. I loved the atmosphere and how classy It was. I even enjoyed the guy at the bar chucking the oysters while I ate my lunch. 5 stars.

Bourbon House receives a 3 out of 5 stars rating from me. On my first visit for lunch, I was disappointed to find that only one of the higher-end bourbons I wanted to try was available, with the rest being out of stock (Tried to order 4 different ones). However, my waiter, Doug, was very friendly and tried to make up for the lack of options. On my second visit for dinner, I had a reservation for 9 PM, but felt rushed through my meal. The appetizer and main course were brought out together with just a 2-minute gap, and at 9:45 PM the restaurant started putting chairs up around us. They should warn you that if they give you a 9 PM reservation that they want you out in 60 mins.
Caitlyn Cunningham
Reservation only for dinner. Clean restaurant with friendly staff. Our server was Sarah Ann and she was great! Chargrilled oysters were fantastic! I had the stuffed merliton and my husbands had the red fish, both were delicious. The milk punch is a must!
Melissa Ruble
Amazing food! We had the chargrilled oysters, crawfish on fried green tomatoes, corn and crab soup, gulf fish, pineapple upside down bread pudding, and creme brulee

I prefer the charbroiled oysters at Bourbon House over the ones next door at Acme Oysters. These aren't overly salty like the ones over at Acme. I also got the Shrimps and Grits here but not a fan because it's really salty! That's why I'm only giving this 4 stars because the charbroiled oysters saved it.
Brian Cofone
This might sound really stupid. This is obviously a destination....if you really really really like Bourbon. Like, two or three hundred dollars a shot Bourbon. The interior is incredibly well decorated, obvious how much time and attention to detail was involved, but can't say the same for the food. After eating all around, rich food every day, I thought this would be a safe place to order a burger and gumbo, was expecting a super duper burger to remember but not the case. Much better burger at WW2 museum. Wait staff was OK but not at the same level as the big boys such as Antoines or even Galatoires. Check this off the list, glad I went there, not disappointed but no need to return.
russell robertson
there was a chef there. called himself Shuck Norris. all i can say is he was everything. hood knowledge of the restaurants menu and his selection of everything he said i should order was on point. i ended up ordering so much food you would have thought i had a party of 4 and it was just me. the service was great the convo was awesome. can't wait to come back and visit. will definitely be sending any and everyone i know is coming to louisiana to the bourbon house
Deepak N
If you want great seafood and amazing choices on bourbon, this is one of the places for you. If you like Oysters, they have raw and baked. Menu is simple and very tasty. They have some unique dishes and you will have a good time. Try the red fish which melts in your mouth.

First time in New Orleans and we wondered into The Bourbon House. Love the wide selection of bourbon! I had a half dozen oysters and Shaq was very entertaining. Then we enjoyed the crab finger appetizer and it did not disappoint!!!! The staff was very friendly and I would definitely recommend stopping in for a good bourbon and some good food.
Matthew Parks
Food's amazing, experience and ambience is great. This place has the best most vast selection of bourbon I've ever seen in my life outside of Kentucky. Right in the thick of everything on Bourbon Street. I don't drink, but my wife and friends do so that's always a plus. It has a genuine feel to it that speaks to the history of the city. Again, my only gripe is that they don't split checks. This is a New Orleans saying apparently if you have a party of more than two maybe four people you might want them having to cash out each other money while one person pays the bill. I think it's kind of inconvenient that they put the burden on the customer to do the math but it is what it is it's every single restaurant we went to in New Orleans and do not split checks, and the way staff not just and this establishment but everywhere else seems to get an attitude when you ask about this particular thing so, I don't know what that mess is about otherwise this was a wonderful experience.
Jodi MacHardy
Our server was fantastic...unfortunately I can't recall his name.

LOVE THIS PLACE! Try the charbroiled oysters & the Bourbon milk punch. Delicious! 😋
Lenora Santana
We came here at the recommendation of a friend and it did not disappoint. Absolutely lovely interior with fun New Orleans jazz playing. We ordered the large milk punch all around because my Mom is from here and we all love milk punch. It was the best milk punch ever. We ordered a 2nd round. We ordered prime rib with the mashed potatoes and it was delicious! Lol we all ordered the prime rib. Perfectly cooked and seasoned. Couldn’t have been better. We also had the bread and it was yummy and served with lots of butter. Phil was our server and he was excellent. They followed all Covid protocols and the place was pretty empty for a Tuesday night. Thanks Phil and Bourbon House for a great time!
Daniel Larkin
Stopped in for a drink and decided to stay for dinner. The bartenders were all friendly, fun and knew the drinks and menu really well and very very helpful. The oyster and bacon appetizer and Alligator Au Vin were amazing.
Janie McInnis
Service was not so good Nikki was not very attentive. Gumbo was served warm and very little ingredients. Charbroiled Oysters were ok at best. Not worth the money differently a tourist trap.
Alison Thacker
Delish Bourbon Milk Punch, a must try adult milkshake.. food was also very good! Happy Hour oysters on the half shelf... $1 each! Kwame was a very helpful, polite and attentive waiter that only enhanced our dining experience!
Amanda
An amazing night with exceptional food. The potato risotto was off the charts! Try the Old Elder Fashion was so so good. Thank you Juliette !
LaToiya Adeyemi
Overall my husband and I really enjoyed the food and drinks. The hostess EMILY lack customer skills big time. Our fault for not making reservations so we waited and sat at the bar... 2 other couples came afterwards and Emily with no problem 2 tables were available. Yes I did ask if they had reservations and she told me NO. That was a problem for me. Just treat everyone the same... thank you Molly ( the manager) for listening to my concern.

We had the pleasure or dining at the Bourbon House.
The entire experience was a true delight. Our table ordered the muffaletta flatbread, bourbon house salad with grilled chicken, the signature barbecue shrimp po boy, blackened gulf fish with risotto, creme brûlée and coffee. All were great. I stand corrected better than great. They all were presented well and very tasty. The sauce on the shrimp po boy was out of this world and very different than anything we ever tasted on a po boy. The sauce was rich and full bodied. It was stuffed with so many shrimp. They actually pull out some of the bread to make this happen This was not your average po boy!
The service was also exceptional, from the minute you arrive and throughout your dinner you will be treated as a VIP. We had Bruce L. helping us as our server and his recommendations and attentiveness helped make our meal even more special. After writing this review and thinking about our meal, I wish I left more than a 20% tip.
Greg Degeyter
Nice old timey feel. Drinks are smooth. Food is delicious.
mz_mavyb
I wish I could give them 10 stars. The waiter George is an amazing person. We came back twice in a roll and he was our server for both days. George is amazing and makes sure we were well attended to and the Chef Deven, I had to ask. He does a great job. I must confess that this is one of the best restaurants I have ever visited. I don't have any specific food; all the food I tried are tasteful.
Now I will always look forward to visiting New Orleans because of this restaurant. And come to think of it, we found Bourbon House Seafood Restaurant by mistake while looking for a different location. Try the food in this location and you will never regret it. 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
Shermayne Dawkins
Lunch Time. Had the catfish po-boy. Bread was hard and sandwich bland. Removed all bread. Waitress was solid, but missed entering an ordered drink. My Wife enjoyed the shrimp and grits
Kendall Gibson Miller
My mom and I had lunch here and it was a great time, start to finish. The boudin balls are, I think, the best I've EVER had. Tirzah was our server and she was wonderful - kind, helpful, and knowledgeable.
Rakesh Arora
We had a private event in a separate room on the 3rd floor with a set menu but it was fantastic. Great food, wine and service. Would hold an event here again.
Angela Montgomery
The frozen milk and bourbon drink is absolutely delicious! The oysters were a little gritty but our meals were delicious and my boyfriend’s veal portion was very large. We also had the duck meatball appetizer and that was also delicious. It is expensive but the set is very attentive. Akua was very friendly and helpful.
Jerica George
Wow this place was so good! We made a reservation, which I recommend. We waited just a few moments to be seated. Our service was great and very knowledgeable about the food and drinks. Photos show the half dozen oysters, fried shrimp platter, and the seafood spinach dip and chocolate pecan crunch mouse. I would try this place out if you're in the area.
Liza Moon
BEST raw oysters I've ever had. Excellent service and food, food was very reasonably priced for the area. Awesome whiskey selection, too!!
Sylvia Raley
Had $42 ribeye ordered medium with lump crab meat extra $14 which didnt appear to be not even a tablespoon full and steak a little overcooked because steak was thin and tough. Took a very long time to order and waited over an hr to get food with only a party of 8 and maybe only a half restaurant full of customers. Woild have to wait probably 20 to 30 minutes on drinks and refills. Atmosphere was loud with televisions louder!
Gary Branam
Stopped in to get off our feet. Had a Elisha Craig cask strength and a crab claw appetizer that had too much flavor to comprehend. Simply delightful. The our wonderful server (Phil) talked my wife into a order of their Sticky Pecan Bread Pudding.....They didn't have to wash that dish. Folks, if they serve Bread Pudding in heaven, this is it.
Frank
I just wanna say our server, Qunita, was absolutely amazing. She went above and beyond to check with the kitchen on my food allergy and made such a wonderful dining experience for me. She is so welcoming and kind. I think every restaurant needs to have a server like Qunita. 😀
Juan Lima
Table service was fantastic. Even had our mixologist taking care of us and understanding our liquid needs. They were featuring culinary dinner specials and we had the oyster appetizer among other amazing dishes. The charbroiled oyster was one of a kind!
Lisa Teter
Two nights ago we had AMAZING service here from Jeremiah. He made the evening fantastic with his personality and honest suggestions. The food was also great and I will return there when I am back in town. Thank you!
william floyd
This is a must stop... relax and enjoy the food and the excellent staff... we had the best night here. The food was so good it was like not eating food it was beyond delicious and just aee.ed every dish melted in your mouth and with 5 star service the entire time. Can't wait to go back, they made you feel at home and I can't say enough how delicious the burbon was.
James H
The oysters were excellent, service good, but overall just an OK dinner. We are still wondering why we had to wait 15 minutes past our reservation time of 6pm when so many tables were open??
Jackie Walcott
Definitely a great spot. First time in New Orleans and we chose this location for lunch. It was very good, especially the bourbon milk punch. It was so delicious that we got a cup to go. I order the fried buffalo shrimp lollipops which were tasty and had a bit of a spicy kick. For the main course, ordered a shrimp po boy. I would definitely return, especially for the drinks as I could not find milk punch at any other location. The service was okay, the servers have one who solely takes drink orders and one that solely takes food orders which was different than I’ve seen before.
Kris Bilbrey
Nice lunch. My shrimp Po-Boy was ok. My brother in law had the bbq Po-Boy and really liked it. Wife had the muffuletta and she really enjoyed it.
Sherry Huffman
This lovely restaurant has done an amazing job cleaning, sanitizing, posting signs about Covid while still maintaining a feel of Southern Hospitality. The food was amazing and the service was outstanding! Our server, Ken, was a Superman Server! We had our 1 year old grandson with us and he was messy but Ken took it in stride. I would encourage you all to have a drink and stay for a meal at Bourbon House. Jim, the GM, will make sure you have a memorable meal. Thank you!
Stacey b
The charbroiled oysters are my favorite thing to get here! They are delicious.
The atmosphere is fancy and beautifully decorated.
Rick Muniz
What more could a whiskey lover ask for?!?! We went here for New Year's Eve dinner. Although all reservations were booked and the wait for walk-ins was long, we were able to grab seats at the bar pretty quickly. As you would expect, the whiskey selection is pretty amazing. The bar staff was very attentive and friendly, engaging in conversation with us even though it was a busy night for them. The food was excellent as well, and reasonably priced for such a nice restaurant.
H. Cap
The bourbon menu is awesome and the crab fingers are tasty. I ordered the burger and it was almost inedible. I ordered it medium and it came out well done and burnt. It was actually crispy. The bacon bits on it were so hard I felt like I chipped a tooth at one point. The restaurant was in the hotel we stayed at so the location was awesome. Drinks were great and I would definitely go back for those crab fingers alone. Great people watching on Bourbon Street so get a table by the window.
Chef Charles Wilford
We come to the great City alot an we visit lots of restaurants Bourbon House to me is on that scale with Dookie Chase
The service was spot on(thanks Sam) the food, presentation, and flavor 10/10
Thank u for making our day
Will be back soon trust

Found this gem while my girlfriend and I were walking through the area by our hotel and I'm SO glad we did!
The first thing you see past the revolving door is a wall of bourbon and a big sign bragging that their frozen bourbon milk punch was named "best to-go drink"... naturally, I had to try it. Our server, Kwame, was extremely professional and friendly, willing to explain the milk punch and everything else on the menu, how it's served and how it differs from similar items on the menu. We ordered a milk punch and an IPA to start, then a wedge salad and a shrimp po' boy to split between us. He offered to have the chef split the sandwich and salad for us in the kitchen before bringing it out, which shows great attention to detail and excellent customer service skills- the kind of little thing that makes you want to come back.
After he brought our drinks, Kwame offered us a little paper bag with a complimentary loaf of hot, fresh French bread and whipped butter while we waited. It was some of the best French bread I've ever had, crispy on the outside and pillowy soft inside. On this unusually cold and rainy day, it was just what the doctor ordered.
The decor is warm and inviting, with fun jazzy tunes playing in the background.
The wedge had a tad too much dressing, but the ingredients were high quality and it tasted great... just had to push most of the dressing to the side.
The shrimp po' boy was served on crunchy, soft French bread with a not-too-spicy aioli, all the fixings, and a side of fries. I'm glad we decided to split the 2 items between us, otherwise it might've been too much food to keep sightseeing instead of going back to the hotel for a nap. Kwame checked in on us a couple times to ensure everything was tasting good and to ask if we needed anything. At the end of the meal, he asked if we wanted separate checks.
Lunch was VERY reasonably priced, especially for the high quality of food and service!
Recap: the frozen bourbon milk punch and the excellent service by Kwame will be enough to bring us back again!
Lundy Lopez
My waiter Nico was amazing, he made the best recommendation of the menu . The place has a really good atmosphere and service .Definitely I’ll come back.
Bonnie Baumgras
We stopped in here to eat a late lunch. We had the gumbo and fried gulf shrimp. The food was excellent but the service was so slow. It took quite awhile to get the server's attention to get our order placed and to refill our drinks and they weren't busy at the time.
Ken Robertson
Fantastic meal, great drinks and excellent service. I expected to be wowed and we all were. Best meal of our week.
Dan Wasmer
The name is not misleading, a tremendous selection of whiskeys. The bourbon milk punch is delicious! Think eggnog, but better. The char broiled oysters were on par with the best we've had in NOLA, although slightly more expensive. The atmosphere is great with tasteful decor and well kept facilities. The staff have been friendly and attentive both nights we've been.
Katie Hendrickson
We enjoyed our meal at Bourbon House last week. We had a seafood sampler which was delicious, but I have to say that my favorite thing was a salad that was recently added to the menu. You won't want to miss the Brussels Sprout salad...it was the amazing! I wanted to go back to eat there again before leaving town, but sadly I didn't have the opportunity. While there, we ate in the bar area and had wonderful service.
wendy bernard
Stopped by one night for a bourbon. Came back the next day for dinner. Had my first oysters. The shrimp and grits were heavenly! Hubby enjoyed the bourbon milk punch.
Heather Mitchell
This place was great! My husband and I were in Nola for the long weekend and as a seafood junkie, I was super excited to try it out. We went on labor day, and had reservations for 745, although reservations were prob not needed. Only a handful of tables were seated. We had 2 great servers, one for drinks and one for our order, but could have been tag teaming since most places don't start popping until after 9.
For starters, I ordered "the flower that be" which was a great vodka mixer and was really delicious! Hubs had some beer but was very good. I choose the raw oysters with local caviar and seriously, the caviar elevated the oysters to the next level. They were cold, fresh, salty and sweet all at the same time. The best oysters I've ever had!
We also ordered the seafood spinach artichoke dip which was really really good. It had an amazing seafood taste, which in most places it's more overpowered with spinach!
I ordered for dinner the French market chicken Oscar which was good, however, the breading on the chicken was a little overdone/browned for me. Also, the chicken was plated as two pieces, and I seriously thought one of the pieces was a pork chop, and not chicken. Mash and asparagus was delicious tho!!
Hubs had the seafood sampler and he said it was really good. I have a thing for Cole slaw and it was pretty tasty!!
We did not have dessert, but between several drinks, apps and food (also tip) was about $150 for everything, but honestly, it was really worth it. Super fresh, tasty and we would definitely go back!! If you want to splurge on Vaca, check this place out!!!
Randi Proffitt
I always sit at the bar when I come to New Orleans. The raw oysters are amazing! Also love the char-grilled oysters and crab claws are tasty tasty!
M. C.
Must go! My husband likes bourbon. Me...not really. But the Bourbon milk punch ...woow ..definitely one of the best frozen drinks I've ever tried. The food is delicious. The service is great. If you are in town. ..you should go there for dinner or drink. I hope I'll have the chance to go again.
Michael Hansen
Had a great dinner in their banquet room on the second floor. There steak was excellent and felt that the quality of the food was only beaten by the atmosphere which was an experience in and of itself. Strongly recommend this restaurant if you are visiting New Orleans.
George F
Nice ambiance, decent prices, pretty good food. AMAZING desserts. Great service, and in a nice area of New Orleans. I’d recommend.
Robert Carter
Best oysters ever. Pretty good old fashion.
Glenda Landsteiner
Ren was fantastic!! Good was good.
Josh Watts
I highly recommend coming here for the flame broiled oysters. The food is delicious, the restaurant is clean, and has some unique history on Bourbon street. Staff was courteous and respectful. A+
Nette Rab
I stopped by here since I was staying at a nearby hotel. The service was good, then it stopped there. See my photos. The food was ok and bland.
There's nothing to rave about. Sigh...
Amanda Cain
Frozen Bourbon milk punch is interesting and worth a try. Seafood gumbo is amazing. Combination plate has really good fried shrimp, catfish and fried oysters. The bloody Mary shrimp cocktail is really good with a nice spicy kick.
Jennifer Lee
Our actual waiter was a tad neglectful, but other staff were very attentive. The food was aesthetically pleasing(ish), but wasn't amazing considering the price. This is not the place for bread pudding, just a heads up.The best thing was the frozen bourbon milk punch. YOU MUST GET IT!!!!! It tastes like a refreshing eggnog (those two words don't tend to go together, but trust me, its refreshing and creamy). Make sure you get one to go. Fantastic bourbon selection.
Nellie Bee
This is a nice vibrant restaurant. Lots of seating. Service is excellent. Very smooth. The seafood here was amazing. Great place go dine on Bourbon Street.
Jeremy Stephens
The entire meal was fantastic. It was my first time eating oysters, and I'm a huge fan now. I can't wait to visit New Orleans again.
Justin Johnson
This place was completely by accident and ...IT WAS AWESOME. I had the duck and pork burger, the crab cakes, and my wife had a fried oyster salad (btw, she helped me eat the crab cake) and yes, I know I need to mix in a salad occasionally - I'm fully aware but... it was all incredible! Really delicious. And a beautiful, clean, and modern layout and decor. Go here. You will not regret it.
Rudi DiPrima
We just visited New Orleans over Thanksgiving weekend and this is the one place we ate at twice! We ate oysters, gumbo, seafood platters, seafood pasta, salads, po' boys and everything was delicious! We loved the decor and ambience. The service was prompt, professional and very friendly! Being complete novices to New Orleans, staying in the Vieux Carré, we were a little wary and on guard when choosing places to eat because we wanted to avoid tourist traps: overpriced, low quality places. So we were very pleased to find this place. I would definitely go back on my next visit. Thanks.
Theresia Olson
Always go here, on every trip, and sit at the oyster bar. Hubby has oysters, and I enjoy a great glass of Bourbon (and a bowl of gumbo).
Chemicalkinetics
Bourbon House was reasonable good, but not great. Many of their dishes are a twist from the classics. The charbroiled oyster is a relatively successful implementation, but others are not. I think their rice and beans is a bit too unusual, and pecan pie is necessary a great change.
hal slayden
Great food, even more excellent staff. Waiter Josh was great and informative.
The food was phenomenal!
Charbroiled Oysters
Alligator au Vin
Redfish
Delicious, everybody traveling or visiting French Quarter needs to eat here.
Joshua Pogue
Great restaurant experience. Have visited multiple times and enjoyed it immensely. Nice ppl lace for a date or a family putting or to just crack open a cold one with the boys. We had the red fish dip, Creole duck fettuccine, soup du jour (mushroom and boar), as well as some bourbon and beer. Every thing was just delicious and wonderful. Patrick the drink server and bourbon expert was such a great help for us, providing detailed insight for all of our questions.
Wan-Ching Ho
Happy hour : Monday - Friday from 3PM to 6PM, Raw oysters on the half shell are $1 a piece at the oyster bar. They were all big and fresh.
zalika woods
Many bourbons to choose from. Food is tasty. It’s pricy if you plan to eat or drink multiple things. I spent $80 by myself with two flights, glass of wine, three apps.
Calandrial (Cali79)
It was a decent experience. Everything was good except the oysters. We ordered the charbroiled and fried oysters; they weren't fully cooked. Perhaps, this is their "normal", but not mine. We sent the charbroiled oysters back to be cooked more and they were returned still undercooked. Prior to returning the oysters, our customer service was excellent. We had two servers. Markeith was excellent throughout our dining experience and his demeanor never declined. However, his partner's demeanor changed. I attribute this to the final bill being less without the oysters. It would have been $110+. I ordered a coke and never received it..thus, this factored into my tip. I'm a great tipper, but tonight I provided a minimal tip commensurate to the service received.
Jaden Rodriguez
Really good place if you are trying to get a good meal. I got the half a dozen Charbroiled oysters and the BBQ burger and it was so good! I recommend this place a lot 10/10 would absolutely come again!
Brian Decoe
Had the alligator wings they were bomb, the oysters were tasty also and the shrimp & grits were amazing.
Ira Thompson
Raw oysters on the half shell with minimal wait, great staff and friendly customers. This is the place to dine when in New Orleans!
Kimberly Crawford
We had a birthday dinner here and the food and service was ABSOLUTELY amazing!!! I had the shrimp and grits as an entrée and the brownie sundae for dessert along with the bourbon milk punch! I can't wait to get back to NOLA to visit again ❤
Katrina Holder
Chef Jordan made my visit extra special...pulled pork taco competing with the best I've ever had the flavor speaks for it self..PLEASE add to the menu...If your allegic to shellfish he can make you something tasty...Bartender Garret was also amazing...attentive and creative for the non alcoholic drinker...Lunch well worth the price...we will be back
Steven Schumacher
An authentic spot for bourbon, on Bourbon Street! We enjoyed our couple of hours here, hanging at the bar with Will & his fellow bartenders. Everyone is extremely knowledgeable about bourbon (in general) as well as every bourbon they have available.
The atmosphere is classic, the music is pure New Orleans & the bourbon was never ending.
Super delicious oysters for only $15 a dozen & a great selection of apps.
I would highly recommend Bourbon House for one or many of the finest bourbon our country had to offer!! 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Robert Enslen
Had a great time here. The food was absolutely delicious! I had a bourbon flight (at a place called Bourbon House, you might as well. When in Rome...), including three bourbons I've never had before: Baker's, Old Forester, and Bulleit. Service was great, quick, and accurate. I'll definitely come back the next time I'm in New Orleans.
Latesha Brumfield
Perry who was shocking oysters at the bar was the best thing about the restaurant. Ordered ribeye. It was overcooked and fries were cold. Disappointed +
Kathleen McQuinn
This was hands down the best experience and meal we’ve had throughout our Mardi Gras weekend. We’re not really party people, but you gotta do it once, RIGHT?!? The drinks highlighted the beauty of their bourbon selections, the broiled oysters were killer, the Ribeye was Perfection (with the bits of andouille and THAT SAUCE!!) and Josh was fantastic! He provided excellent recommendations, friendly and professional service with a mastery of the menu, impeccable timing (preempting our needs) and made us feel welcome, comfortable and confident in his care. We don’t often repeat when traveling, but it was all so good, we’re likely to be found there again…hopefully in Josh’s section :)
Kimeth Jeffries
This was my firsr visit to this restaurant.
The food was ok.
I have had better.
I'm not sure if I would go back.
The waitress was nice!
Jacob Cain
Went here after a long day of work and was highly impressed! Service was awesome and Bourbon was FANTASTIC! The oysters were perfectly cooked! Our original plan was to eat at Acme but due to not having my Covid Vaccination card we were unable to. Definitely glad I got to experience this place for my first Bourbon Street experience!
Monika Jones
Cool atmosphere. The food was great. Our server was so fun and friendly!
Tomeka Johnson
Awesome experience all the way around. Excellent service, cocktails and food. Can't wait to return.
James Clements
It was excellent. I had the redfish with lump crab and the crispy brussel sprouts. The fish was cooked perfectly. Service was great too.
Jason Hall
Stopped by for a late dinner around 10pm. My wife and I sat at the bar, the staff was attentive and very professional. All were very knowledgeable and gave lots of recommendations. The drinks and food were excellent as well! Definitely recommend this restaurant, especially if you're a bourbon lover!
Charles Conti
Consistently amazing experience. The best BBQ shrimp in New Orleans. Way better than liuzza. They start with a roux add about a pound of butter and amazingness to create the perfect seasoning for a large amount of shrimp.
Curt Conrad
This place had awesome food and a mind blowing selection of bourbons. Along with a good selection of beer. The seafood platter was my main dish with alligator bites for an appetizer. A friend had the petite fillets and he agreed that this is a must go to again place. Maybe next time for fun and not business!
Sylvia Munoz
The Bourbon House has lovely ambiance; the food is to die for, and the wait staff are friendly & helpful!
Cyle Lublin
My favorite spot for oysters in New Orleans. I’ve only been to a handful of spots but their quality seems to be the best. Big fan of the charbroiled oysters and their Milk Punch!
D Mouhot (Sparkles)
So I didn’t give 5 stars due to my pasta was so cold. Ordered the broiled oyster pasta. When I dived into the pasta it was cold. I didn’t complain due to being starved. The service was outstanding though. Easy place to visit off of bourbon street
Melissa M
Our last dinner on our New Orleans vacation was at the Bourbon House. Our party of 8 had a reservation for 7:30 and didn't get seated until close to 8:00 (slightly irritating). Once we were seated, the service was spectacular. We had a waitress taking care of our drinks and another of our food. My husband and I ordered a half dozen chargrilled oysters topped with crabmeat. They were to first oysters for us both, and they were delicious. I also ordered a bowl of crab and corn bisque. It had a nice balance of crab and crispy corn and was deliciously zesty. For dinner I had the shrimp orecchiette pasta and had it topped with crabmeat. The shrimp in this dish was amazing, and the pasta was deliciously flavored with spinach and mushrooms in a creamy white wine sauce. Of course dessert had to be had, so I ordered the pumpkin spice cheesecake. I'm not really a cheesecake person, but the marshmallow fluff on top helped take away from the cream cheesiness. It was the perfect fall dessert. After dinner, I used the restroom and nearly slipped and fell, as the floors were dangerously wet. If it wasn't for the delay in seating and the poorly kept restroom, I'd give this place another star. Overall, it was a delicious meal.

In town for a convention. We stopped at the Bourbon House by chance. What a fabulous restaurant. We had a cheese plate with charcuterie. For an entree we had the crab tips. Oh my!!!!! We were sopping up the juices with the crusty bread it was fantastic. While there I discovered bourbon! We had a bourbon drink called the paper airplane. A refreshing drink with grapefruit and citrus flavors mixed with bourbon. Loved it! We came back another night and ordered it again. That evening I had a filet mignon that was fantastic and a bisque. My next trip to NOLA will definetely include another trip to the Bourbon House.
Paul Garza
We were headed to ACME oyster but the gentleman was short with me and turned me off so we went next door and it was AMAZING! Service ! Angela our server was so friendly and suggested the grilled fish and she was on point! Wife had the shrimp and grits, to die for.
Tonisha Carr
Oysters were great, gator wings were good, corn crab soup was ok.
Joseph Torcivia
This was a good backup if the line to acme is too long. The charbroiled oysters were okay but not the best I’ve had. The service here was impeccable and everyone was super friendly and knowledgeable about the food options.
I had the gator wings and I’m still undecided. The sauce was delicious but the meat took some getting used to, like a mix of ham and chicken. The roasted Brussel sprouts were delicious and my dinning companions were happy with their meals. I’d rate the restaurant a 4.5 so I bumped it up to 5 for google.
Noobtastic Lori
Their Frozen Bourbon Milk Punch is scrumptious and an absolute must try. The alligator po'boy was delicious. Friendly staff. Nice atmosphere.
Masa Junker
Juan was our waiter and he was SO busy and yet still so kind and attentive. Shon appeared to be running the place and he was ON IT. The gator wings were PHENOMENAL and the service was soooooooo good. Definitely my new favorite place
Sarah Taylor
The crab fingers were amazing! So good we came twice during our two and a half day stay. We also tried the when pigs fly flight and really enjoyed the selection.

Getting to the restaurant requires navigating one of the seedier streets in the French Quarter, but once inside, the Bourbon House is like a beautiful oasis. Rich wood and soft, warm lighting provides a nice ambiance that is welcoming, yet not suffocatingly stuffy. As lifetime locals, we know what good seafood should taste like, and the Bourbon House does not disappoint: Everything from the gumbo to the entrees were spectacular! The friendliness and service of the staff was also second to none as they treated us like family. As part of the Dickie Brennan empire, we knew it would be good, but it exceeded even our lofty expectations!

This place has some of the best chargrilled oysters that I've had in awhile, and the coffee ribeye was magnificent! Great atmosphere, great service, and great food!
Mirna Chapa
Food was great! Had oysters and fish. The hostess or wait time was not. The first person who checked us in said 20 minutes, well 20 minutes passed and we asked a couple of times and they said there were rearranging tables. After a bit over an hour my husband asked again and they were seating people that had just walked in without reservations before us. Then he asked the hostess hey we’ve been waiting, their ohh so sorry we couldn’t see you on the waitlist on the screen!! So frustrating and very unorganized!!!

This is my favorite restaurant in Bourbon street . The crab cake is out of this world . I also tried the cream brûlée and my husband tried the Po boy wow , yummy .The ambiance and atmosphere are really welcoming . Location are very convenient and servers are really nice .
Kanon Bernard Lillemon
Great service. Amazing selection of bourbon. And the bartender had excellent recommendations, based on my preferred bourbons. Food is good, unique and priced right.

First meal in NOLA! Nice and fresh, fish is very flavorful 😋 …
Doremus Family
So delicious! Happy hour is great, first come first serve at the bar, sat right down. Half a dozen of oysters and 2 glasses of wine for $14 and the best quality oysters!
Leonard Mason
Everything here was top notch. Great Nola lunch for my wife and I
Deena H
This place is pretty good if you’re a seafood lover. TONS of bourbon options for cocktails, and plenty of seafood options for dining. They also had a live a capella group singing to the tables! The service is a tad bit slow however, and there aren’t a lot of non-seafood options. Definitely worth giving it a shot; if you go be sure to make a reservation in advance.
Russell Roy Tritico
Great food and great drinks. I didn't even like Bourbon before I came here. The staff is awesome. I recommend the oysters and a Sazarac. This place is worth the wait!
jojo crossley
My 1st time in Louisiana and everything here was delightful! The food was excellent and the staff was lovely!! Tony the manager chatted with us and our waitress Jada was ON POINT!
Laura A
Beautiful place. The charcoal smoked oysters are so good. They taste like garlic and parmesan cheese. They have tons of types of bourbon but very expensive.
Dave Carpenter
If you wamt bourbon this is the place.Huge selection of bourbon. The food is also fantastic. The service great. The knock on this establishment was the automatic 12% gratuity added on to the check.

Restaurant is connected to the hotel we are staying in, the Crown Astor. Service was great, but it is really loud in the evening. Lots of large boisterous party groups came in while we were there. We all enjoyed our meal. Enjoyed looking at the different bourbon bottles on display.
Kathleen Quirk
Antonio was so welcoming and knowledgeable. The restaurant is lovely and the food excellent. The "milkshake" cocktail was decadent. Unparalleled shrimp, oysters, and crab.
Maria A.R.
Amazing place, excellent food. I really admire the guys that open the oysters. Everyone at the bar is really friendly, excellent service.
If you love seafood, you'll love the place

This review has 2 sides...
We stayed at the Crowne plaza which is in the same building almost so we were regulars for breakfast DON'T DO IT. Try it at DINNER the wait is about an hour but believe me it's worth it! the food was delicious, the oyster plate and my pasta were amazing. At the end the bourbon was the final touch.
Now the bad: in the morning we had a very bad experience with the old lady who assigns the table at breakfast, even though we had been there for at least 2 more times that day she decided she couldn't sit us all together, we were 6 adults and 2 babies. All the other days we were together. So she made us wait 30 minutes for a table in a half empty restaurant. She was really rude and said that if we wanted to sit together we had to wait an additional 20 minutes in the end we had to take the 2 tables because we were with my 86 year old grandmother and we were angry and tired. But I don't recommend this place for breakfast at all.

This place was so good! Shrimp and grits was delish. Grits were spot on. Muffaletta flat bread was delicious, as were the shrimp and crab boudin appetizer. Our bartender Emily was sweet and on top of things, and the Bourbon Milk Punch was a lovely, unique adult dessert!
Jared Norris
Very nice restaurant right on Bourbon St. Not a place to go in trashed. Very impressive collection of top shelf bourbons. Bbq shrimp po-boy is delicious of course make sure you start with a cup of seafood gumbo.
Alvaro Escobar
This place was awesome. Upscale location with inflated prices but the food was excellent. Had fresh oysters and grilled oysters.
J WillHold
It was just ok. They served my crab fingers to me kind of cold. Plus they were really small. Maybe even a little overdone. My friend was underwhelmed with her oysters. Bread pudding had a great sauce to it but the consistency was slightly different than what I’m used to. Drinks were excellent.
Gloria Mejia
Staff was super friendly like other places, environment was loud and slightly crowded, but clean. Order appetizers, Cajun fries, alligator bites friend and a platter. Definitely, enjoyed all three. I recommend, we came here for a late night snack after drinks and exploring the French Quarter.
Anthony Brown
This is my 1st trip to New Orleans, and this was my 1st food stop. And bourbon house did not disappoint. It was a great introduction to New Orleans cuisine. I plan to return and try other originals on the menu. The charbroiled oysters were very good, cooked to perfection. And this was my first time trying a crab claw dish, and it wasn't a disappointment. Their selection of "Brown Spirits" is large, and priced well. It's located right in the heart of the action, so you won't miss a thing.
Phillip Strano
Professional service. Good, not great, food. Good comes out fast.
I ordered 6 gulf shrimp, they were huge and tasty. Dipping sauces were just ok, they need to kick it up a notch. Also ordered char boiled oysters with crab meat which were ok. I wish they would put a little melted parm cheese on them to give it a better taste like their famous competitor a couple doors down.
Bryan Hassin
All I have ever had here has been oysters and Bourbon but, if that's what you're after, this place is great. You can get your oysters raw, charbroiled, fried, on a salad, in a po' boy, etc. and the Bourbon list is very extensive.
tiff
This place isn't bad.
Service was pretty good.
Food came out at a normal time
The place was very clean and the ambiance was chill.
The thing I didn't like at all was the dirty oyster shells.
We order 1/2 do to share, but one of hen had sooo much mud on it, it was everywhere, on my hands, in my finger nails, a little in my mouth lol, my dress after I tried cleaning my hands with my napkin.
I looked dirty lol
They were tasty though
I ordered the gumbo cup which was pretty decent. Not the best but I think it's a little expensive for $9
I also ordered a random wedge salad, which was pretty darn great.
Plenty of space for large groups.
Plenty of bourbon lol

Delicious experience
Good food and delicious cocktails

Our 1st time here after a certain other oyster place next door was closed for a private party. We are SO glad that happened and it's now our favorite oyster spot. Wonderful staff who were patient with our questions. BEAUTIFUL decor and of coarse yummy food and cocktails!!
Rox S
The Bourbon House never disappoints. Great atmosphere, seafood and friendly staff!! And their bourbon cocktails are off-the-chain!!
P Lem
Great seafood. Had the combination platter and the Pappilote Fish. Did not try the bourbon milk punch. Beautiful setting.
Devona Taylor
Ordered fried shrimp and corn she crab soup shrimp was cold and blonde hair was in soup took a long time for food waitress was polite he talk to manager about the wait we received our meals for free.
Jesse Powell
The BBQ Shrimp Po-Boy was awesome!
John Rueff (p play)
Everything about this place is killer. Ambiance spacious, rich looking and clean. The food was unbelievable. The wait staff super friendly. Had a fantastic time. Oh yeah....I ate this. Yeah drooling still. Everyone who walked by asked if it was on the menu. It's not. A little something from farm to table week that a good friend saved for me. Thanks sunshine your the best.
Eva Kovacs
Beautiful building, iconic location. Yet, our outstanding experience was thanks to Brandon. He genuinely loves what he does and it shows.
Jennifer Martinez
Chargrilled oysters with crabmeat are to die for!!!
Add a bourbon milk punch and you have the perfect dinner.
Heather Hoffman
Suprisngly great!
Went straight to the bar. It’s was happy hour so $1 oysters! Ordered 3 dozen oysters, corn chowder, and the crab cake.
Delish! They said that the oysters were small so they gave us a bakers dozen 😍
Exquisite service 🙌🏻. I was surprised how great the crab cake actually was.
It may be a “big” spot, but get to the bar and enjoy the happy hr and crab cake! Btw crab cake isn’t cheap....but it’s worth it...especially considering the location.
Don Miller
We had a group of nine celebrating my daughter’s wedding. They took us right to our table when we arrived for our reservation. The service was exceptional, as good as any 5 star restaurant!
And the food was beyond good! Our group selected a wide variety off the menu and everyone was very pleased. My son and I got the twin filets and these were cooked perfect and extremely tender/delicious. He also got an Old Fashioned and said it was the best he has every had. This coming from an experienced bartender himself.
The amazing part is our bill was much less than I expected!
Definitely treat yourself to a meal here!
Elizabeth Davie
That place is a must for bourbon drinkers! The list is huge and the prices are great. Service is A+. The food was also great, I had the pork sandwich which was excellent and my husband had the charbroiled oysters. They were son good he ordered another half dozen!
Greg Johnson
I Sat at the bar. I had the alligator entree, a side salad (not pictured) with added oysters and the charbroiled oysters that look awesome. Be prepared to spend some $$$ but It was worth it. This is a nice looking restaurant with great tasting food. I do recommend for an occasion or just feeling like eating out at a more pricy restaurant.
Josh Reid
This place is only getting 4 stars because of the limited menu and seating arrangement. From a family perspective the seating was lacking. The whiskey and bourbon selection was superb and the food was excellent but the menu could utilize some additional options as it felt really limited. We would probably visit again but only because I want more bourbon selections.
Whitney Conner
Beautiful interior with cool lighting. Yummy oysters and shrimp. Highly recommend the bourbon punch or getting figgy wit it drinks. Service was also great.
Nicholas Walsh
Excellent service and great raw bar experience! So at the bar around the oyster bins - very cool watching these masters ply their trade. The cocktails left much to be desired.
James Sparks
A very awesome experience!!! Great service and excellent food. Highly recommended and great prices.
Johnnie Hurt
Very nice and beautiful dining experience. Our waiter was very nice and courtesy.
Augusta
Nice chargrilled oysters. Awesome shrimp and grits. I had never been tempted to try shrimp and grits before now. The grit texture is kind of custardy and more solid. Also had the Bourbon milk ...delish
Maria Dorancy Pemberthy
New Orleans typical food, service normal, high price
Richard Sierra
Went for dinner and drinks. The drinks were great, but the food wasn’t anything to rave about compared to other experiences in New Orleans. The menu lacked creativity, but the food was fresh and delish. Won’t rush back but definitely a nice spot.
Genesis Evangelisti
Beautiful restaurant with great food!!! Staff was very friendly and attentive! We will recommend Bourbon House at any time.
Lisa Wilson
Impressive bourbon and rye selection, fresh Gulf seafood, warm atmosphere. Service is a little slow but this is a popular place. Just go and stay a while. It's on the sane end of Bourbon St.
LuxLiving Lux
The server was knowledgeable and made great recommendations. The bourbon flights were great. We had the shrimp and alligator wings appetizers. I liked the alligator and my husband really liked the shrimp. It was my bday and I had a complimentary bourbon milk punch which I highly recommend if u like ice cream!
Rathna K
Do not miss the Oysters here.
I was told the Oysters at Acme, Drago's are extraordinary. The first day I was too hungry, didn't want to stand in line too long and inadvertantly ended up at Bourbon House which had a reasonable wait time. The BEST Oysters I have ever had. I then tried Acme and Drago's eventually and they were not even close.
Excellent service.
Good ambience.
Sarah Hildebrand
The food was tasty! The chargrilled oysters here are great, definitely splurge and add the jumbo lump crab meat to the top! SO GOOD!
Chris Alex
Came in late, kitchen was closing so they held them so we could get an order in and there zero pressure to hurry, took their time, offered desert. Liked the food, tons of alcohol options.
Lindsey S
Went for breakfast, flavorful Bloody Mary, sizable croissant. Very clean, attentive staff. Pricing was decent. Hashbrowns were very delicious.
R J
Great place! Check out these "Jumbo" shrimp! Service was prompt and excellent. I had Jumbo Shrimp & a very good BLT Wedge Salad. Shrimp & Grits were very good also. Nice ambience & an incredible list of bourbon's. Highly recommend.
Robert Snow
Super nice food experience ...went 2X...once for grilled oysters and a tasty sip of Whistle Pig rye and once for dinner with a shrimp lollipop and a little Buffalo Trace ...loved it.
Kari McLain
It was my first time in New Orleans and we ended up going twice in one trip because the food and the service was just that good. I’d highly recommend you sit at the bar to watch the shucking and chat with the bartenders.
Marek Slaby
Can't blame the place, but it's simply too large for me, food was OK and service as fast as possible without personal touch.
Mark Saeedi
The reason that I am taking of one star is because of their service. I was sitting behind the bar & the waitress was so busy & couldn't serve us as we expected. Beside that, the quality, wine, and price were really good.
Glenn Rittelmeyer
Another stop on our annual oyster walk; a quest to find the most delectable, delicious oysters, served with a bit of panache. Good atmosphere, tasty, salty oysters, and shuckers with no personality. C'mon guys, liven up the bar a bit.
Dara P
We sat at the oyster bar. Service was timely. Food was delicious. I loved the vintage oyster plates decor.
Chris&Antoinette Williams
SO GOOD!!!!!!!! If you looking for an upscale restaurant that will leave you licking your fingers in the heart of New Orleans this is it. There is nothing below excellent I can say about this place. Do yourself a favor and treat yourself!
GXM
Food was delicious. Service could use coaching. Servers tried hard but appeared to be let down by bartenders and kitchen
Brittany Lane
First of all I WISH I remembered my server's name because he was EXCELLENT (older light skinned Black/Creole gentleman, bald). Second, the bourbon milk punch is DELICIOUS. I should have ordered another one to go!
I called myself playing it safe with the Shrimp snf grits but I regret not going for the fish on the half shell (I think that's what it's called). The shrimp and grits was good but not the best I've ever had; the grits could have used a little more butter and pepper and been a bit creamier IMO. Overall I would definitely return.
Lauren Brown
The crab cake was bland but the red beans & rice stuffed greens were AMAZING! The wait staff were so curteous & attentive that they made this feel like a special occasion.
ana brizuela
My son was in heaven when he got his blackened Tuna fish. I had something small which was the crab and corn soup. It was delicious, but what topped it off was the charbroiled oysters.
Ken Levinson
Was recently in town to help teach fellow trail lawyers and was very fortunate to stumble upon Bourbon House. I only had time for a quick breakfast and the buffet with the omelet station was fantastic!
Looking forward to coming back soon.
Eric Young
The ambiance was great. A perfect place for friends or couples. Really good service and a lively vibe, that is situated right in the thick of things in the French Quarter. The milk based bourbon cocktail was spot on. As was the charbroiled Oysters with crawfish. Very, very disappointed with the fishermen platter. The shrimp was overcooked and the catfish had no seasonings! With all of the seafood offerings in New Orleans, go elsewhere for that, just come here for appetizers and drinks.
Erica Wilson
Every time I've gone to NOLA I've visited the Bourbon House. The food is great! The crab claws are everything!
Janice Weiner
The frozen milk punch is to die for. Oysters on the half shell are wonderful, too. We were told you must have reservations to dine, and no walk-ins taken except at the bar. The bar was very busy resulting in slower than expected service. All food was quite good, however, and bartenders were pleasant, if overwhelmed.
Rich Thompson
Order the grill oysters with crab meat on top !! Was awesome sat at the bar area .
Also order the Louisiana platter was great too and a wedge salad
Michael Holmes
Nice decor inside. Food was average. Main server insulted me twice for my choices rather than guiding me in a more pleasant way. Runners were far better, and should have been the server. Don't EVER say to a customer "I just knew you would order that." Just don't!
Greg Williams
Sat right at the bar even though I used opentable for reservations. The grilled oysters were excellent. The redfish was a great combo.
Larry Ledbetter
Great atmosphere, food was incredible, service was outstanding and the Old Fashion Bourbon I had was perfect!!!
Joan Rowe
Fresh Oysters, great cocktails, tasty milk punch, and cold air conditioning. What else could be asked for? Oh, centrally located on Burbon St.
Lee Murray
We were very excited to have dinner here and were disappointed in the experience. Service was slow all night with a less than full restaurant. Ordered the regional flight of bourbon and when it came out the server didn't know which bourbon was which. So I drank the flight blind. Ordered the red fish that was dry. Left half of it on the plate. I ordered a few more bourbons that helped save some of the experience but it took forever in between servings. I suspect it's not always like this but it's hard to imagine. Next time I'm back in NOLA I won't count it out especially because of the bourbon selection but was disappointed I'm the food.
patricia cabaero
Delicious food, extremely friendly and knowledgeable staff
Thomas Carr
Spectacular food and an out of this world Bourbon list!! The ambience is amazing and you feel right at home. The reason it gets a 4 and not a 5 is because although the service was good, it was not 100% knock your socks off. That said, I will definitely return and would recommend this place to anyone!!
Michael McMillian
A bourbon lover's paradise! One of the most extensive bourbon lists I've come across in my travels. The location is great, with large windows for people watching.
Robin Merideth
Food was amazing! First time trying charbroiled oysters and I loved them. Smothered in butter, breadcrumbs and some added lemon juice. Whitefish was bass and it was delicious. It came with these crab broil potatoes that were so flavorful, but had a little kick. Best part was the Bourbon Milk Punch. This was new for me, if you like eggnog, you'll love this drink. Service was friendly and helpful.
Keith Volle
Shrimp & grits were really good. The bread pudding was divine!
Aaron Riffe
No oysters at the oyster house. And our server waited to tell us until after our meal was being prepared. Call ahead.
Brian Freeman
I would like to give it five stars but I just can't pull myself to do it. However, it wasn't nice dining experience and I would totally advise anybody looking at it to go. Our dinners were great the restaurant is very nice had to deal with a 20 to 30 minute wait which is expected because it is a nice place. The food was nice but was expensive which I expected not just because of where it is but what it is. I'd say the only reason why I won't give it five stars is I tried to order two different barrel-proof ferments and they were out of both so I was then suggested to get the house barrel proof which was still good but not my first nor second choice all in all great place
Mike Terry
Good food and nice upscale atmosphere. Had the wedge salad, the filet mignon, and creme brulee. The salad was mediocre, but everything else was really good. Service was great!
Frank Marino Jr
Lunch was awesome, shrimp and crab dog! This was delicious..
Jacob Silcox (Jake)
Love love love this place. Our first day on bourbon street and this was the first place we spotted. Huge bar. Great food. Great drinks. Great atmosphere!
Mechelle Tenorio
Great place to eat and drink if your on Bourbon Street, it's a little more expensive than the places around. Even though it was pricey the food was worth it and so were our servers.
B.J. Gober
I had to take this place so high because of atmosphere and service. If you are a burbon drinker this is paradise found. We tried the ceviche with strawberries has appetizer very good. I had the fried shrimp platter little over priced shrimp was little tough.
Julie Bailey
Very good, Wasn't to bad on the spiciness. Neat atmosphere, they do get busy quickly but worth it.
Victoria Kroll
Awesome oysters and creme brulee, friendly staff, nice ambiance. The bathroom was really nice! Boutique hotel nice.
Thomas Webb Jr.
Everything we had from the Brussels sprouts and the rice ball appitizers to the gumbo and smoked chrimp and grits entrees were delicious. The bourbon menu is as large as it claims, but the frozen bourbon milk punch really takes the cake. When we went they were full and not taking walk-ins, luckily we had reservations. I would definitely eat here again.
Benjamin Chae
My wife and I went for lunch. The menu was pretty limited. My wife just wanted some good grilled shrimp. They didn't have peel and eat shrimp on the lunch menu. We opted for Po Boys instead. I've been to other restaurants for incredible Po Boys. Bourbon House's were okay. The seafood, spinach and artichoke bread appetizer was very good. I will not return even though the restaurant was beautiful. I paid way too much for the quality of the food I got. The 3 stars are for the good service. The food was okay so I understand why the restaurant wasn't that busy.
Isaac Thacker
This place is worth the extra price. The waiters are the best, the food is fabulous, and the inside is beautiful. I would highly recommend going.
Emerson Willis
Fries suck! Not hand cut as menu states. Somewhat slow service, but to be expected for upscale dining.
Will C
Good food and good service. Like other users have mentioned, the main course portions are big. I had the shrimp and crab "sandwich" which was very tasty.
Elena Rivera-Irvin
The Charbroiled Oysters were UH-MA-ZIIIIIIING! Not amazing, UH-MA-ZIIIIIIING!!!!! Louisiana Strawberry Shortcake was a great dessert.
Dean Barnett
Dropped in for a frozen bourbon milk punch. A definite tradition by now.
Wayne Gaudet
Great place to eat right on the edge of the French Quarter. Ask for the premium oysters
Charles Green
I'm from Tampa. It was a nice change of pace. The scenery, service, and food was great. I'll definitely return.
Also, there's a great website in place that highlights how one day the food and scenery of this restaurant will exist earth wide. It's called JW.ORG, and it's non-political and family friendly. Please check it out.
Wilson Li
We were originally going to check out one of the restaurants next door which were supposedly famous for seafood, but their lines were way too long. Then we saw this very nice-looking restaurant that had no line, and we recognized the Brennan's name that I understand is very well regarded in New Orleans, so we decided to give it a shot. Turned out it was a great choice! Not only did they have huge, delicious raw oysters, but their charbroiled oysters also just uses butter instead of cheese (we have some digestive issues with cheese). We also got some boudin balls, gumbo, and a dessert, all of which were excellent. Also, as the name suggests, they have a wide selection of bourbons to sample.
C Johnston
Great clean restaurant right on Bourbon St. Server was attentive and polite. Steak was the best I’ve had in a long time. If you are looking for a more upscale style restaurant in the area check this place out!
Dr. Albert Dyess
While in New Orleans you visit the Bourbon House they have every type of bourbon in the world and while you're there try the BLT salad it's awesome. The service is great the staff friendly and very accommodating, every time I come to New Orleans which is quite often I'll make sure that I'll come to the Bourbon House. I also suggest you try Blanton's original Single Barrel Bourbon probably one of the best in the world. Once again a shout out and great thank you to the staff and to the Cook no better place to eat in New Orleans.
David Herlocker
Good food. A bit pricey. Had great oysters there. Fish dip was a bit on the bland side.
Mig
Service was great. The Muffuletta flatbread and the gumbo were delicious.
Nicholas Romano
Classy joint with great food all around!! Reasonably priced with efficient service. Recommend Po'boy sandwiches.
Brett Bollenbacher
This place ended up knocking it out of the park for service, food/drink quality and price. We had our doubts with this place being on Bourbon St and right next to a Hard Rock but came in for the $1 oyster happy hour around 4pm. Oysters with really fresh and large. Shrimp were large and we'll cooked. They had a "bourbon milk punch" on the happy hour for $5 which tasted like a real bourbon cream milkshake.
Mark Wholley
What can I say that hasn't already been said? the Bourbon house should be on your list to visit if you are in NO. The food here is done very well, and the bourbon selction is vast. Try the Bourbon milk punch for dessert
Jan Tran
The oyster were good but the service was fantastic. The bread pudding with ice cream was very good.
Foxy Brown
Happy hour made me the happiest here 🤗 The charbroil oysters with the lump crab meat was exquisite.!!!!
Mike Zetzer
Great French Quarter restaurant. Stop for just a bite or a full on dinner! Char-grilled Oysters and Fresh on the half shell are awesome. First come first served bar tables area is pretty big. Long list of good Bourbon also.
It's on Bourbon and Iberville Streets.
Ashlynn Shipley
Super tasty! Finally got to go in because of the convos and summer slowness, definitely worth the wait!!
Craig Weldy
Food was great and the atmosphere was fun. I sat in the bar area and had a dozen oysters. Absolutely enjoyed myself.
Louie Parker
$1 oysters from 4-6pm. Amazing value and great vibe.
We're passing by after a disappointing experience at Acme, this place seem to have a much high class atmosphere, dropped in and found out that they have better prices and staff. Loved our happy hour.
- DePaepe
I got the charbroiled oysters topped with crabmeat, a few different glasses of wine, and the whole fried gulf fish. It was all as excellent as the service and atmosphere.
Joseph Miera
Fantastic selection of bourbons available, a great menu with delicious seafood and the staff really took care of me.
Pete Conrick
Really enjoyed the Redfish LaFouche and raw oysters, got amazing balcony seating, tipped the young black kid at the door a few bucks to get up there in the perfect spot for wife and I. Waitress was great forgot to take photos of the badass food. By this time I was a little blurry from scotch and waters at the Dungeon so all I remember really is just shoveling that fish into my mouth and the cop on a horse down on the street what a wild and fun time in NOLA
By Goree
Had a great time. Server JD was great and drink server Erin was excellent. Fancy establishment but didn't have the snotty vibe once inside. Staff all professional. Bathroom quite upgraded for the building being so older. Had the corn and crab soup and bbq shrimp po-boy. No complaints.
Kailee Toth
Delicious food & friendly wait staff. Great option for local New Orleans cuisine.
Josh Miller
The grilled chicken salad was really, really flavorful. I had the bourbon bread pudding and baby bourbon milk punch. The milk punch is sort of like egg nog with noticable alcohol. Overall, the food was amazing and I highly recommend Bourbon House.
Madhumitha Ramesh
We had a good wait of 25 minutes, but on peak times there is a huge queue. The ambiance need a little update, can’t complain since it’s in bourbon street. Oysters are amazing, and loved their Bloody Mary. So try their chargrilled stuff oysters. Definitely worth the worth. I highly recommend.
Tonia Verrette
Great food, lovely atmosphere, and excellent service!
Donita Chanel
It’s a yes! Hosts were AMAZING! Love that the restaurant felt so big it added to our comfortability in the midst of the current pandemic state in NOLA. We ordered Brussels Sprouts which were perfectly done and the sweet sauce was a perfect compliment. Entrees were beautifully plated and portions made sense for the price point. OVERALL worth a visit!!
Jessica Delaney
Sat at the round bar and ordered 1/2 Dozen Louisiana Oysters $9, 1/2 Dozen Oysters with local caviar $16, glass of Sazerac whisky $8.50, and Smoked Redfish Dip with crackers $9 while watching the rest of the Saints Game. We weren't wearing formal/collared attire so the bar option was great and service and food was excellent.
Jmp 123
Good lunch at Bourbon House. I wanted oysters and my friend needed to stay near or in the Quarter. Of the menus we checked Bourbon House had the most reasonable oyster prices. I had only had dinner once before there, and the same of my friend. It's such a pretty and comfortable restaurant at the same time. We had a nice bright table by the window on Bourbon. Unfortunately, I didn't take enough pictures of this meal. We both ordered a half dozen oysters on the half shell, requesting them on the smaller side. They were PERFECT. The House cocktail sauce is wonderful, and they bring plain horseradish, too. Really delicious. I had the BBQ oyster poboy. I would say it was yummy but maybe a little too "much" lol. My friend had the shrimp. Both very tasty. We both thought something sweet would be nice, and this is where they lost a star. We were described a chocolate mousse dessert with salted caramel and candied pecans... while it was pretty when it arrived (picture) it was really more of this very dense, layered chocolate nut cake thing. Each of us ordered it. Neither of us particularly cared for it. We ended up saying we should've ordered one and maybe we would've finished it since we ate maybe half of our own. Great restaurant, nonetheless. Lots of menu options and known for their whiskey selections and flights.
Beth Hughes
Lunch was lovely in this gorgeous restaurant! Everything we had was delicious! Crab corn soup, oyster po boy, grilled oysters and brussel sprouts. We will go back because I was too full for the frozen bourbon milk punch and it looked delicious! So many other entrees we would like to try! Service was a 5 star!
Shevek McKee
This was our Fancy French Quarter dinner. I think we chose well. BBQ shrimp was amazing.
Darryl Browne
Great place to dine. Our server, Tiffany was awesome
Erik Valenti
Excellent staff and food selection. It's true they have a lot of bourbon options. However it's a little more spendy for what you get compared to other restaurants in the area.
Daniel Campbell
Love the Bourbon. Consistently good.
Sheri R
Had light lunch on Wednesday, raw oysters and Caesar salad. The oyster shucker was a nice fellow, and engaged in pleasant conversation with us. Our waiter was attentive . The food was great, we’ll be back soon.
Wendy Brown
Best service and delicious food. The charbroiled oysters are an absolute must as well as the muffelata flat bread and crab and shrimp boudin balls on the appetizer list. (Can't remember the exact name). Also had the pineapple upside down bread pudding that was so unique and fabulous, for dessert! Great atmosphere and ambiance. Will definitely visit again.
Tiffany
The Bourbon milkshake is a MUST! It will be one of the tastiest things you've ever had. Go during happy hour and oysters are $1!
Jesus Tron
Great place to go.
Michael Mast
Fantastic service, great food and of course the bourbon is wonderful!
Olivia Mobley
Got the recommendation from TicTok on a couples trip.. YES-they have online or call in reservation, that they ate very flexible yet fill up fast.. We went on a Sunday as brunch and the food was not the "TYPE" we seen. Was not sure If they were short on staff or just customer service coverage, but we had the Manger helping serve, but it took a while for even the appetizer to come out. The food felt and tasted as if it had been sitting under a heat lamp, half the group did not enjoy what they order (Shrimp po'boy). Starter bread was a little hard and distasteful. TWO of our people determined that the bread used for their was also hard and mildly stale. HOWEVER.... CUSTOMER SERVICE WAS GOOD. Had us question for a moment about the time of our food, but shortly after assumptions, we were insured about it coming out shortly.
Maybe WHEN YOU and your group go HERE, you are treated better than us.
**Dress Code: We seen a guy in a poll shirt and shorts.. May not be that Causal as posted on Web.

One of the better restaurants on bourbon street. Nice, upscale spot with great food and great drinks. The amount of bourbon options is ridiculous. Would recommend.

Very good food, excellent oyster bar! Service is usually good, except during extreme high volume times. Prices are reasonable.

Don’t get the barbecue shrimp po boy. Just don’t do it. Gumbo was alright. Brussels sprouts were kinda good. Server was friendly but very busy so wasn’t able to come by very often. Probably should just go somewhere else if you want yummy Cajun food

Very casual and very New Orleans vibe. Excellent service and the food was very NOLA. The flatbread was outstanding. Roasted brussel sprouts with goat cheese and spicy dipping sauce were excellent. The shrimp and crab boudin balls were so good they could be a meal alone. Excellent bar as you would expect.

Really cool architecture and excellent food. The desserts were stunning as well. Had a solid fish dinner can’t say we tried anything that wasn’t for five star level at this restaurant.

Fantastic. Best charbroiled oysters I’ve ever had.

Sat at the bar for drinks and to join the Bourbon society. Very friendly staff and reasonable prices. The in stock selection was not as great for bourbon as a place called Bourbon House should be.
