Reviews of B Sweet Bistro & Bakery

Stopped here to fulfill a step for a mileage program I recently joined. I had just eaten breakfast, so I only wanted a little something sweet to carry back to my hotel room. Happily, there was a slice of carrot cake in a display case calling my name.
It was beautifully decorated, but more importantly, it tasted fantastic! I enjoyed it and so did my roommate.
It’s nice to see spaces adding life to Rampart Street on the edge of the French Quarter. This would be a great place to visit for lunch and/or a treat before or after a daytime show at the Saenger Theatre or a visit to Armstrong Park.
Next time maybe the Shrimp and Grits or a French Toast Chicken Sandwich.

I pass this place everyday and decided to stop by today. Locally owned spot in the city! I ordered gumbo + wedding cake. My gumbo was great— definitely real New Orleans style and not the fake, touristy gumbo you find around the city. The cake was pretty good— feel if I would’ve gotten a fresher piece it would have been better, however still super tasty. Service was great! No complaints.

I really enjoyed every bite of my food. If you want a waffle that literally melts in your mouth go here you want be disappointed. To top it off coming from working as a General manager for many years the owner very personable with her guest. She comes out and talk with you not to many places you go to does that!!!!!! She let us try the gumbo which was absolutely delicious. My friend ordered a strawberry cheesecake pudding coming from a person that doesn’t eat cheesecake it was so freaking good and doesn’t have that after taste that you get from cheesecake😍😍😍😍😍 This will now be my number 1 to go place

Super expensive cake slices. They taste amazing though! Woman gave us a king cake stick and a water for free. She was really friendly. Walkable from the busy areas of the French quarter.

We stopped in for a quick lunch before a tour, and the food was absolutely excellent. We got to meet the owner and she went above and beyond to make our experience amazing. Not only did she talk with us for a bit but she even gave us all king cake slices to try. I highly recommend this place!!!

I was visiting New Orleans over the weekend. I got 2 King Cakes and a slice of mardi Gras icing cake to bring back home in Memphis Tennessee. It’s the best I’ve ever had. If you’re looking for a freshly made bakery item check out B Sweet Bakery.

I had a hard time finding good file gumbo this trip surprisingly. On a ride with A Lyft driver, she recommended we check out B Sweet Bistro. I'm so glad she did. The gumbo was great. My cousin ordered the Fish/Shrimp Po Boy. It had to be the biggest po boy I've ever seen. The cakes are huge too. I ordered seafood gumbo from Landry's restaurant yesterday and it was horrible. I literally spit it out. The staff were nice.

I wish we’d discovered this place earlier in our trip so we could’ve eaten here more. If you want some damn good food made by some of the nicest people in NOLA then this is your spot. The gumbo and red beans & rice are must haves. Kids loved their chicken and waffles and the fish and chicken plates are great. We will DEFINITELY come back next time we’re in town. Thank you!!

This was a nice find!!! It wasn't very busy, but my group went inside. I ordered the gumbo and OMG!!! I can wholeheartedly say it was the BEST gumbo I've EVER had! Whew!!! I devoured it! I also tasted the catfish and grits and it was amazing as well! I didn't taste any of the desserts but they looked good too! The word spread and the place quickly filled up! The vibe was great and the music was good as well. Fast friendly service and hot fresh food!

First time in town, amazing food, amazing people. Plan to come back tomorrow for another chef recommended dish. Please do ask Britney for her list of other authentic hearty restaurants in town. I never would imagine that I will call a restaurant spiritual, but Britney baby's B Sweet is one such place.

Had a great experience this week at B Sweet Bistro. Visiting from Maryland. The food was great and the hospitality was incredible. Brittney took the time to share some of her story and a lot of her food. Red Beans and Rice, fried fish, shrimp po boy whew. Plus a piece of cake (and piece is an understatement).

I was referred to this spot and that was the best referral for a restaurant in a while. The food was delicious and the team there was very friendly. I ordered a side of chicken, spinach crawfish dip and a slice of cake and all of it was FABULOUS! I even got a beautiful king cake to take home. YOU MUST try this place!

The food is amazingly delicious!! The shop is posh and it has a DJ. The owner/ operator was very personable. This place is where it's at catfish and grits, 704 wings, and gumbo, rounded off with the strawberry cheesecake even took home some of the wing sauce 😋 so worth the trip …

I have been hitting the gumbo spots pretty hard since coming to town in February and this was superior to All of them. B Sweets gumbo is the gumbo all other gumbos aspire to be but never got enough love. Outstanding, really. Well done , Chef.

B Sweet Bistro is by far THE BEST restaurant in NOLA. Anyone who has been in New Orleans knows the city has Great Eats. This is my third trip here and my first since Katrina - I've been wanting to get back here for 20 years, because of the food alone. This little spot is on the edge of the French Quarter, with an underwhelming exterior sandwiched between two bars. If you blink, you will miss it. My bff and I are here for a friend's destination wedding. On our first full day of this 6-day trip, we wandered into B Sweet by happenstance on the hunt of something sweet before our paid 6pm ghost/voodoo tour starting across the corner.
First, the owner, Ms Brittney, is the epitome of the restaurant's moniker. She is so sweet and welcoming. Because some bakery hours tend to open and close earlier, when we approached the door at 5:15pm, we asked another patron if it was open. She replied "Yes and it will change your life." Yes it did and set the bar for the rest of our trip.
The savory dishes are flavorful, hearty and southern comfort. More about that further below. But the sweets, OMG! They are everlasting divinity on this side of the life cycle. Ms. Brittney explained the flavor profiles and the stories behind her fabulous desserts on display. Because the portions are huge to our eyes, after intense deliberation, we decided to dine in and share the carrot cake, rather than taking it with us on the tour.
The cake was so good that I sunk in my seat and ate without exhaling in between forkfuls. We then asked questions about some of the other food items. Next thing we knew, Ms. Brittney came out with samples of her Catfish Mardi Gras Bisque and her Creole Gumbo paired with a mini gooey, ooey grilled cheese sandwich. When my friend saw me pull out half a sandwich from the parchment wrapper with the stretched cheese, she immediately demanded some of it. Both the gumbo and bisque were just the right balance of sweet, salty and spice.
B Sweet's food and experience are superb. This was our fourth dining since arriving the night before, and this treasure has set the bar for the rest of our trip! We decided to blow off our $22 paid tour so that we could continue this "feel good food for you" experience.
Everyone who came in during our visit said they will be back tomorrow. Like them, I am excited and proud to say we are going back today for morning brunch, and plan to bring other friends when they get to town this weekend.
I recommend everyone visit this fantastic Bistro. It will always be on my NOLA trip itinerary anytime I am here. Bon Appetit!!!

This place is AWESOME!!! We ate at a lot of good spots while visiting but this was by far my favorite. The brunch bowl! BABYYYY!!! And that RED VELVET CAKE! OMG! On top of the food being good, the owner was the sweetest and very personable. This is the place to eat..it’s a treat to your tastebuds!

We ate here on a whim on our first night down. This was by far my favorite food I had the whole trip.. I had the the shrimp Po boy with crawfish queso on our fries.

The owner personally greeted me as I enter. Southern hospitality at its best. She even allowed me to order an entree that is only offered on weekends. The Catfish Mardi Gras is delicious. Great addition to the Treme and French Quarter neighborhoods.
Miss Nick
Food was good. Came out hot! Customer service was not the best. We ordered Chicken & waffles, Gumbo, Boudin Balls, shrimp po boy and Strawberry stuffed cheesecake cake.

OMG!Where do I start?!!I have never been to an establishment where the OWNER comes out to genuinely greet you and engage with her customers 🥲Next, the food🤤🤤 cooked to perfection and held it's temperature from the kitchen, to the table then after sitting for several minutes (while stuffing my face with other delicious items😆)held its HEAT! To top off the experience, the restaurant is located in prime atmosphere to get the full NOLA experience. Although I was very apprehensive about trying a new spot, B has gained a new lifelong local customer,as her and her staff surpassed my expectations! This was my first visit but definitely will not be the last!!Thank you BRITTANY your hospitality is UNMATCHED!!much ❤️🙂

I loved everything about this place from the moment I walked in. Did not wait long at all for food. I had the Red Fish Rampart (pasta), Gumbo, and the Floating Brownie. EVERYTHING WAS GOOD!! So good that I forgot to take pics lol. The owner walked in and greeted her guests which is a plus for me as well. Prices are very reasonable especially to say the food is high quality.
