Always enjoy stopping here for breakfast whenever I'm in New Orleans. Food is always super tasty and staff is always pleasant and friendly. My omelet was perfect and pork chop was succulent and well seasoned. The waffles were good, and the chicken was on point. Please do not deny yourself the experience of wating here.

Delicious. Great staff. The place was packed on Sunday morning but it wasn’t a super long wait on food. We had a steak and eggs, pork chop and eggs, chopped steak breakfast and chicken and waffles. Everything was delicious. Service was awesome. Don’t miss this one!!

I was in New Orleans due to a family tragedy, and spent most of a week there at University Hospital across the street. The food was delicious and plentiful. I had the cheeseburger PoBoy (New Orleans baguette roll) with a fried egg on top for breakfast. It was huge, but I ate the whole thing, because it was too good not to. Service was outstanding and friendly as could be. Staffed by what I felt like were several southern grandmas. I told my extended family and friends who were also in town about this little place, and they had an amazing experience as well. Not only was the food great and plentiful, but they got word that two of the crew were military, and took extra special care of them and the bunch. The only issue with this gem, is that they aren't open very late. Unfortunately, I missed out on them a couple of times, because of visiting hours at the hospital. I'm sure it's not easy in this post Covid world to staff for 24 hours as they apparently once were open.

Lil hole in wall..cheap meals great food. Didn't like pancakes..too thick. I swear they were an inch thick. If u like thick pancakes then you will love these!!! Everything else was perfect!! Grits made just the way i like 'em..not watery and not too thick! Coffee hot and tasty..fresh fresh coffee!!!

I ate breakfast here when I first came into New Orleans from Houston. There was so much hospitality there and the food was great! The food came out fast and you can smell it on the street. My mother was overly pleased because everyone is not able to cook liver and onion with gravy and it turn out great.

If you are looking for some home town, good for the soul, grandma's cooking nostalgia go to Anita's Grill. It may look like a "hole in the wall" diner but the food was delicious and the staff was friendly and kept us entertained. The next time I visit NOLA I will make a point to go there for breakfast again!

The food was very tasty and the customer service was amazing. The place is very mom and pop. Also its cash only with the meals being on average 6-10 bucks so very reasonable. Breakfast for a family of 5 with beverages cost approximately $65. Not bad at all considering I'm used to NYC pricing. Definitely a good place for a breakfast. You must try the Hot Sausage, its homemade and absolutely delicious. The pancakes are wonderful as well and the steak and eggs super tasty. Will definitely be back.

Food was good like I remember it from the early nineties last time I ate there. My server was having a bad day God bless her which ruined my visit. Never checked on us and she delayed checking us out when we were done eating. No more visits from me.

First time visit! Had had a hamburger from there before at work. We went there for brunch. I had breakfast, my friends had a hot sausage sandwich on French, and fish and grits. Everything was delicious . We did have bit of a wait. Lots of people were in town for the, LSU game. Recommend you order on line before going ,if time is a. Issue for you. MsJo on the go!!!

Goodness the 3 experiences I had at Anita's set the base line and the high bar for my trip to New Orleans. This place felt the most authentic of every spot I visited. First trip was just a quick stop by for some black coffee and it was honestly the best drip coffee I've ever had. Second time I was hung over from a fun night on Bourbon Street and nursed myself back to life with an Iced Tea. When I told the matriarch (best way to describe the one person I haven't asked for their name to review) of the establishment enjoyed jesting with me and then offered a bartenders gingerale to settle my stomach...floored by her kindness. I knew I had to come back to try the Liver as it would be my first time ever and it's so world famous they have masks promoting it. So very delicious and the serving size was so generous I had leftovers twice. The Western omelet was also so very delicious. When I asked for hash browns she asked if we wanted to add peppers and a few other delicious add on to make the best loaded potatoes ever! Thank you so much for such a phenomenal experience and for sharing the history of Anita's from pre-Katrina days. I'll be back as soon as I am able ❤💜💚

The food is cooked with love! It's a restaurant run and operated by women who are experienced in the kitchen and will ensure your food is right every time. The restaurant reminds you of a Waffle House-style setup, but the food tastes better. I first set foot in the restaurant 20+ years ago, my boyfriend who is now my husband told me I wouldn't be disappointed then and the food is still just as good now.

Anita was fantastic! I love her personality and soul. Sweetest and funniest lady ever!! Food was amazing. I had the hamburger steak, and my boyfriend had pancakes and catfish with grits. She makes her own creamer and food with love! It's cash only, and there's an ATM inside. I wish I could visit once a week, but we're from Dallas, but this is definitely on our list to visit when we come.

I’ve been wanting to eat here for years. Finally was able to make it happen before attending a Saints game. It was everything I imagined and more. Great friendly staff and my mouth watered as I watched the cook do her magic on the grill. The home cooking reminded me of my grandmother’s and the love that was always in her kitchen. So I'm originally from NOLA and my dad knows the owners and wanted to take me before my flight out. It's a place where everybody knows your name with just the right amount of New Orleans hospitality. I had the western omelette. It was really greasy. Perhaps from the ingredients or how it was prepared. It would have been ideal after a night in the club...NOT before a flight. But that was my fault. But the food was delicious. Well seasoned, came out got. Pack your patience. We had a long wait. But we're understanding that this during COVID and after hurricane Ida. Also, they only take cash. But they had ATM Inside. Would definitely recommend.

I've been going to Anita's since the early 90ś,I absolutely love this place,the service is always Impeccable,I enjoy my conversations with Mr.Scott about the waterfront,my house and my lovely wife, who occasionally a company me from time 2 time ,most importantly I love the food and the way its prepared for me, I pretty much have the same thing every time 3 scramble egg white,grits and cheese ,grilled chicken breast w/toast and I always leave a nice tip to show my appreciation for their service...😀 😋 😊 🙂 ❤️ ❤️....... Anita's advertises itself as "world famous." After a much anticipated visit, I don't understand at all what could make this place world famous. Mediocrity, perhaps? At about noon on a weekday, I ordered the liver and onions with eggs. My food arrived in about the time I expected, so nothing spectacular there, but I'll give them a positive stroke for getting hot food to the table. The eggs were cooked to order, almost exactly to the "over medium" that I asked for. The liver--one slice of usual thickness--was cooked properly, but a little sinewy. It was covered with a large portion of average brown gravy and smothered fine-cut onion strings. If there was a standout item, it was the hash browns. These were 3/4-inch cubes of perfectly tender potatoes, seasoned well. They weren't spicy or salty. Let's say they were perfectly prepared for the addition of salt and pepper at the table. The service was friendly and reasonably prompt, but the restaurant was far below its modest seating capacity, too. I might return, but Anita's Restaurant is not a place I'll make a special trip to visit.

The food was delicious. I had the lunch special on a Wednesday and it consisted of a drink, salad, smothered pork chop, rice and gravy and creamed corn for 8.99. The pork chop was fork tender. On top of the gravy being so beautifully made the customer service was superb. I’ll definitely be back.

While visiting NOLA for my family's annual trek to the Bayou Classic, we encountered Anita's Restaurant while out site seeing. What a gem!! The food was beyond delicious. I ordered the pork chops. Let me tell ya...they were soooo good. My date had the catfish. The order came with a whopping 6 fillets, fried to perfection. We also ordered the Hot Sausage Omelet. Sorry that I didn't include pics. We devoured the food before pics could be taken. LOL The service was very welcoming, attentive and friendly. The prices are super reasonable for the amount of food served. Anita's will be first on my list to visit in NOLA for years to come. I can't wait to go back.

Food is made to order. Staff is hospitable. Everything is so tasty and seasoned well. Hot sausages omelet is a must!!! Only issue is space. It's always so packed and the restaurant is very small already. Small booths (can seat up to 4) and a bar only. No place for big parties.

Ms. Allison was all that and then some on that grill. My breakfast was hot, seasoned and tasty. And it was affordable, the place is not fancy but you feel as if you're home. My eggs were scrambled hard with velvety American cheese like a blanket on top. My pancakes were fluffy, golden and big as saucers. My ham was salty and grilled just right. I'm glad my Lyft driver suggested it.

I had the 3 stack pancakes, an order of bacon and An order of hashbrowns. My husband had the roast beef poboy with cheese fries. The waitress was so nice!! Everything was delicious. The pancakes were big, the bacon was like 5 slices, I didn't like the hashbrowns but my hubby did. So I ate his cheese fries. He said the roast beef was delicious!! We can't wait to go back!!!

Very good New Orleans classic fried fish with peas and potatoe salad. The.plave was bussy but the staff took care of us in a timely manmer and we wer in and out in less than an hour. The good thing about Anita's is the location as it is right next ro LSU Health and across rhe street from the VA Hospital.

A New Orleans staple. Good food and very affordable. They're doing a great job taking precautions for the pandemic. Masks required and temperatures are checked at the door. Hand sanitization is also required. Staff is nice and pleasant.

The breakfast 👌🏾 I always get the steak and eggs with hash browns, wheat toast and coffee. The rest of the menu 👌🏾 I usually get the Catfish plate *tastes like fresh catch🤗💕* or a poboy dressed and of course "real French bread" is used. The space is limited *think Waffle House* so getting it to go might be a must

This is a typical New Orleans diner. Lots of good egg-based options for breakfast. Omelettes here don’t go wrong! The place can get a bit noisy though and it’s cash only. There’s an ATM available inside the diner. I used my Canadian debit card to withdraw money as my colleague and I didn’t have any cash on us. Got charged $3 for the withdrawal. I tried with my credit card first but the ATM gave an error and couldn’t process the transaction.

Possibly.....the BEST late night eatery in New Orleans. Fresh hot soul food after a night out is essential to the soul. Anita's has all of that with grits cheese eggs pancakes sausage and.......sweet tea. End your night here and treat yourself to something delicious!
