Reviews of Acme Oyster House

We came here and was politely told there was going to be a 20 minute wait. We didn't have to wait long until we were seated and ordered. Our waitress was awesome, the food came out real quick, despite the full-house, and it was absolutely fantastic. This was the only place where I can actually eat oysters and I don't like oysters! Highly recommended by so many people and I'm glad to have finally tried it!

My sister's wedding reception was held in the private dining room. The dining room was large enough to hold our party of 40. We had 5 round tables with 6 chairs each and a rectangle table with 10 chairs. There was enough floor space for us to do couples dancing and line dancing. There's a bar and a separate men's and women's bathroom in the private dining room also. I ordered a hurricane and whiskey sour from the bar--best I've ever had! The buffet menu consisted of red beans and rice, Cajun jambalaya, fried catfish, fried shrimp, cole slaw, french fries, and Caesar salad. Based on the attendants at the reception and their review of each item of food, along with mine, the food was wonderful! After we ate, some of us went out onto the balcony where there were 2 additional tables to enjoy the view. This is the perfect venue for an occasion consisting of 50 people or less.

This was one of my favorites in New Orleans. Small place but turn over was fast. Great service, good drinks, and fantastic food. I had the char grilled oysters and roast beef po boy! Wow delicious! I wanted one of the specialty drinks but they were out of the mix so I had a margarita. It didn't disappoint! Try this place out.

It was a fair amount of time to wait to get in, but it was during their busy time of the evening. The boo fries were absolutely delicious and king of comfort food. We ordered both Char-Grilled oysters and fried oysters. The fried oysters were okay but the Char-Grill oysters were absolutely amazing! And the crab cake was definitely one of their top items as well. The service was fair to good but they were also extremely busy.

Be prepared to wait! We visited on a Saturday night, arrived after 9, and still had a long line, at least half an hour wait. Not sure why they close so early, as lots of people were denied getting in line well before 10pm (on a Saturday). The hostess manning the line was friendly, shepherding people in quickly when tables were ready. It took awhile for the server to take our orders though, as she was quite busy with a large party. Now the food though! Wow! I haven't had this style of grilled oysters before so I don't have anything to compare it to, but they were amazing, meaty and well breaded and seasoned. Don't forget to use the bread to sop up all the delicious buttery goodness underneath! The boo fries were delicious, topped with a meaty gravy, and even the jambalaya was nice and flavorful. It was a great and memorable meal in the French Quarter!

This was a recommendation of our Lyft driver and she knows where the good food is at! We loved all of our meals. The tartar sauce wasn't my favorite but I could live with it. Everything is fresh and delicious. Also, this place is open on Tuesday evenings - which we didn't know was such a rarity in New Orleans.

Acme Oyster House lives up to the hype so don’t let the line to get in deter you. The food was amazing (so many great dishes) and the service was even better. Roscoe was very attentive and gave great recommendations from the menu. I will definitely revisit when I’m back in New Orleans.

This place is 100% worth the hype! I know the line that you see might look daunting, but I promise that the wait is worth it and the line actually moves pretty quickly. The food here is absolutely amazing and the service is really amazing! I would totally recommend that you get the charbroiled oysters with crab meat on top because it was one of the best things I’ve ever eaten.

Top notch place for Seafood in New Orleans around Bourbon Street. Absolutely the finest grilled oysters I've ever had. Lots of fried seafood available and everything I had was fantastic. Fried crab claws! It's worth the wait in line.

The food hands down is delicious!! We had the chicken gumbo, shrimp and fish platter, and marinated grilled chicken po boy. The jambalaya was a lil too tomato taste but everything else great! When I walked by and saw the line to get in I knew we should've stopped and ate there. Mike our waiter was great! Love the environment. Jazz music and oldies playing in background. Ambience great! Prices very reasonable!
