This place has been in business for over 10 years and I think they are getting better and better. The food was perfectly portioned, the server paired a great wine. I had the theater menu prior to a show and it was a pallets delight. Great for a romantic evening or date. Take your time and enjoy. Photo of the brisket. I will go back for any event they host.

Simultaneously spontaneous and genius, Miel combines natural ingredients with a high priority on experience and sustainability. Gastronomic attention aside, the interior offers escape and catharsis for the misfit in all of us. In the modern age, Miel still captures the romance of food, high service, and human connection.

Truly incredible dining experience. The menu is seasonal, wine list amazing and cocktails are perfectly balanced. The portions are smaller, however if you order an appetizer (which are excellent and reasonably priced), a main, and don't pass up the fermented butter and bread it's the perfect amount. By far one of the best elevated dining experiences in Nashville.

I love food and eating out and love finding new restaurants around Nashville. That being said, Miel is easily one of the best meals I have ever had in Nashville, rivaled only by Catbird Seat - and at half the price. Miel has a focus on farm-to-table freshness and sustainably sourced food. Plenty of their food is grown in a garden out back - and let me tell you, that freshness is evident in the quality. Service was fantastic and our waiter, T-Roy, was incredibly knowledgeable about the menu. We followed all of his recommendations and were blown away by every single one, including wine pairings! The menu is set up in a list format with smallest plates at the top and largest plates at the bottom instead of "appetizer" and "entree" sections. Let your waiter know how hungry you are so s/he can point you in the right direction for your desired portion size. Miel is a small restaurant tucked away on a side street and hard to see from Charlotte Ave. It does have ample parking. After eating here I'm blown away it isn't on more "Best of" lists etc. T-Roy told us that Miel does not advertise and they prefer to stay under the radar and have people come in because of word-of-mouth. Well, sorry T-Roy, but the secret is now out because we have been telling EVERYONE that they need to go to Miel! Our first thought at the end of the meal was "when can we come back?" This is a do not miss restaurant! Go tonight!!

A weird seating arrangement that you need to experience to understand! Atmosphere works though.
Great to see the owner, Seema, present, mingling & expediting, even bussing. Thank you ma'am.
Rare Miyagi Oysters were exquisite though I wish they were more chilled!
Poached shrimp was perfectly so with a nice snap, though I kinda expected more of a twist on a standard shrimp cocktail!
Tuna, watermelon aqua fresco was one note, screaming for some acidity
Foie Gras torchon was excellent with mini fresh figs. Great flavors and presentation.
The Duron pork tomahawk chop was, unfortunately, overcooked with a salt bomb of a reduction. Hate doing that this day and age but had to return it and opted for a second Foie Gras instead!
Great, eclectic wine list that is screaming for a Coravin or more by the glass options!
It's obvious that this place is managed and staffed well with people who care. Kudos. I'll be back and with my wife so we can split a bottle of fine wine!

What a delightful evening. I dine alone a lot and it is not all that often that a restaurant staff can, all together, make me feel so welcome.
The menu was really enjoyable, though I would love to come back with a group so I could try more. They had one of my favorite wines, Hagar Matthias Grüner... if you ever see it, buy it for the label because it's adorable, but the wine is so good.
Eggplant with garlic and brown bread, oysters and mignonette, beef tongue pastrami with mustard.
Everything was delicious... exactly what I thought I needed. What I really needed was to be surrounded by such friendly and welcoming people!
Thank you.

Our friends had been absolutely raving about Miel since their first visit, so we went with them last night to see what their hype was about. And they had every reason to rave about it, because we ended up also falling in love with Miel!!
We started with happy hour and got drinks, mussels, squash hummus, Miyagi oysters, olives, and sourdough bread with fermented butter. We also all ended up ordering the $8 (YES!! Only $8) burger and you would’ve thought we all died and went to heaven. This burger is one of the best burgers I’ve had in Nashville, with the meat coming from bear creek farms (local) and being aged for around 40 days, then topped with a stunning aioli on a fresh bun. We all were so happy with our decision to order it.
We ended the night with a bottle of the domaine les gryphées Beaujolais, the peach basil cake, hazelnut- dark chocolate Pot du Creme, and a French press of decaf coffee.
Everything was incredible and the wine choices and each dish had so much thought out behind it. We were also able to meet the owner, Seema, and she was so knowledgeable and kind, and she told us all about the beautiful garden space and where a lot of the foods were sourced from. You can tell her passion is what fuels each dish and choice, and it’s delightful to see.
Anyways— make a point to come here. Start at happy hour and work through slow courses and enjoy each bite. It’s wonderful!
(I hate that I didn’t take better photos, but alas- I was too busy enjoying the burger)

In a word AMAZING! Went here and they’re still operating under pretty strict Covid guidelines which I appreciated. All that aside the food was outstanding! I do wish our server had a little bit more knowledge and guided us through things a little bit more but we ended up ordering most of the menu anyways. Only critique was the octopus was very over charred AKA burnt and that’s all you could taste, otherwise extremely happy experience!
Bevin Gregory
Absolutely incredible meal from start to finish. The service was impeccable, the atmosphere was calm and private, and the dishes were the most creative I've ever experienced. Our table shared multiple dishes and I truly loved every bite. Also, they are handling COVID regulations so well, and we felt quite safe.

We are grateful to have worked with Miel for our wedding weekend. We used their culinary services for our rehearsal dinner night as well as our wedding cake. Andrew and Jen were attentive to detail and the food was amazing. Our guests are still talking about our wedding cake. I would highly recommend Miel for your event needs. Their restaurant is also amazing!

Always delicious. We recently went for a multi-course vegan dinner, but they are always happy to accommodate vegan & vegetarian diets. You will be happy.

I found that Miel was good French fare but not spectacular. The space itself is beautifully done up and the service was very attentive. The food didn't sparkle though. Parking is difficult so be aware of that.
Jane Marlowe
Wonderful dinner served outdoors on the open but sheltered patio with heat lamps. Food, cocktails and wine were all incredible, with excellent service. We appreciated the concern for COVID protocols.

Easter brunch at Miel was absolutely incredible! We brought our kids, not knowing if they would like what was on the menu; and they ate every last bite (and then some - we had to order another croque monsieur at the end of the meal because they loved it that much). We ordered a little bit of everything - our favorites were the “duck duck hash”, shrimp and grits, bread and fermented butter, and the crab cakes. My French 75 cocktail was perfect. Such an incredible meal with amazing service. And I’m so grateful for the policy of vaccinated diners only in the inside area. Thank you for making it such a special day for my family!
Claire Crisp
Amazing dining experience! It’s clear that the owner and staff care about this restaurant and it was a joy to dine here. Their small plates are great to share and the menu has something for everyone. I loved their bread and butter, olives, mussels and octopus. The French 75s were delicious as well. Great for vegetarians, pescatarians, and gluten free diets. Perfect spot for a date night, meeting with friends and group dinners

Miel excels with intelligent pairings, precisely balanced ingredients and perfect portions.
I choose to begin with the four cheese plate which had a good variety of soft/hard cheeses, almonds, an amazing dish of tart figs and a number of drops of captivating wild flower honey. The portion size was ideal for sampling several combinations from the plate without impinging on my appetite.
Main course was the Seared Skin King Salmon with mussels, pulled eggplant, and set in a thin layer of fantastic hollandaise. Not a single taste or texture out of place.
Pictures can give you an idea of the tastes you'll find but you absolutely have to experience this yourself.
Thank you to the staff who's combined efforts made such a fantastic experience
Deborah Parker
Wonderful dining experience; excellent food/wine/ambiance and our server was amazing. When visiting ask for T-Roy, his culinary guidance was the best
Sara Humes
This is one of the best restaurants in Nashville. We had 4 appetizers and 3 entrees and they were all delicious. If you haven’t tried this spot the. You are missing out on a delicious meal. You must try Miel.

For our second time dining at Miel, we did the Sustainable Fish event and we were blown away by how they presented each of the not so cool fish like Monkfish, Skate, Bonzini, and a few others. Im not the biggest fish person but they completely changed my mind. The whole evening was absolutely divine. Can't wait to go back, for a evening dinner or a special event.
Megan Martin
We went there for a birthday dinner. The service, food, and cocktails were fabulous! We will definitely be back soon.
Mike Foreman
Great service, great atmosphere. Not a huge fan of the scallops. For $28 for two scallops(and delicious seasonal veg), I did wish for scallops without grit. Fresh, yes, but not rinsed appropriately and a bit over citrused (though that was clearly written in the description).
Had the Old Cuban cocktail, which was great.
Still 5 starts because the gnocchi was awesome and maybe I just shouldn't order seafood in Nashville, duh.
Wendy Monday
This may be my favorite dining experience in all of Nashville. There’s a reason they have been around for so long, it is just such a nice space and wonderful meal. Put this at the top of your Nashville “to do” list
Catherine Golden
Quite possibly one of the most enjoyable dining experiences I've ever had. The staff went out of their way to ensure we had a safe visit a couple of months ago, when many places in Nashville weren't taking the same level of precautions. The ambience in the "barn" was perfect, and everything we ate was divine. We loved everything about Miel. We will be back.
Luis Ochoa
I don't mind paying a lot for food and small portions when the food is great. Unfortunately at least on my visit, I feel it missed the mark.
T-roy McFarland
A wonderful oasis on 53rd Avenue and Charlotte, customer service and experience is truly the focus, attention to detail, atmosphere and impeccable wine and cocktail offerings. Reservations preferred but walk ins welcome. The Miel fam really enjoy making every day special, it's almost patio time, do yourself a favor and visit soon.🍾🦐🥂🍽🍷🥖

So happy that this quaint special spot has weathered the pandemic! We've primarily done takeout for the last year, but have also dined in a few times for special occasions. The owner and her team have done an excellent job with needed safety measures and offer both indoor and outdoor spaces with comfortably spaced seating. Excellent food focused on French, Mediterranean and Southern styles. Great wine list and cocktails. Farm to table approach, including items from their on-site garden in season.
Sara
Went for my birthday last night and all I can say is WOW! It was a perfect experience from start to finish. Covid wise they took the best precautions of any restaurant I have been to since March and the food was pure perfection! So much so that while at the table my husband and I were trying to think of a better meal we've had and couldn't come up with one. Our server was attentive without crowding, the timing of food/drinks was perfect, and the food was insanely good. If you haven't tried Miel do yourself a favor and run don't walk to try this restaurant, you will not regret it!
Justin Walker
My girlfriend and I dined here for the first time over the weekend. We were truly blown away. The manager was very warm and welcoming, in a genuine way that I find to be rare. The wait staff was very friendly, maybe a little more timid and less informative than you'd typically appreciate at this level of dining, but no real complaints at all and I'm mostly just trying to come up with something negative to say about it and honestly grasping at straws because it was a near perfect dining experience. There were times when it felt like they sort of disappeared, but to be fair, there were only like 3 of them on and the place was pretty much full. The environment was great, it's kind of a unique little dining area. The lit fire outside is a nice touch of ambiance, especially in the cold weather.
The food was absolutely phenomenal. This probably sounds corny, but the cheese board honestly expanded my range of what I do an don't like and I feel like I gained a new perspective on the art of cheeseboards.
The duck confit was by and large the best duck that I have ever eaten. The lobster ravioli was an interesting and delicious take on the dish. I was hesitant to write a review because I think it is a hidden gem in west, but it would've almost been immoral not to.
Perfect for a romantic date night. One last thing, if someone isn't a "foodie" or really into food, I could see them not appreciating it and possibly being upset or underwhelmed for the price point, but if you have an appreciation of the culinary arts, it is a must try. My thanks to the staff and we will definitely be back.

Had a wonderful experience at Miel for my 1 year anniversary with my fiancee. Service was wonderful from start to finish. Everything we ate was incredible (mushroom pate, shrimp & scallop risotto, strip steak). Also appreciated all the precautions they take in this pandemic with a temperature check at the door and contact tracing. Hand sanitizer/mask wearing everywhere. Outdoor seating with heaters. Truly a great experience.
J Sol
I had a fabulous dinner at this fabulous restaurant. It was my friends birthday so we had to order all the desserts and they were amazing! The owner, Seema is fabulous! I will be back!

Disappointed. My wife and I have been to Miel many times in the past few years. Our last time was a few days ago and we can attest that things have definitely changed. My wife enjoyed a hilariously small portion of an entree, and while the flavor was there, she was left wanting more. I unfortunately experienced what I would call a very mediocre steak that was overcooked and under-seasoned. An aged steak as described on the menu should melt in your mouth. For the cost, I expected much better. Unfortunately because of covid, the seating arrangements are very awkward. We were seated between the covered area and the semi walled in area. Our table had a cheap patio umbrella in the middle that did little but block our conversation. Also, no heater was available for us so we got a bit chilly. We have loved Miel in the past, and maybe will try it again in the future, but this visit left a bad taste (literally) in our mouths.

Miel has been one of the quietly superb restaurants in Nashville since we arrived in 2012. Always creative, inventive, and consistent, the food and drink reflect the personality and expertise of the owner. It reminds me of dining in some of the house restaurants in Europe, where quality and personality are prioritized. Vegan friendly, you can easily craft an amazing meal from their small plates, sharing between your table partners. The alcohol selection is similar - crafted to be excellent, creative, and never disappointing. Despite all the new restaurants in Nashville, we keep finding Miel as the place where we have a delightful experience that is always memorable.
And did I mention that they focus on sustainability and have been since before it was cool?
Blake
I'm upset with myself for not having tried this place sooner. Everything I had there, was absolutely outstanding. We went for happy hour and the burger was one of my favorites in Nashville. Seriously, $5 select wine/beer/cocktails plus great snacks (aforementioned burger included) was a don't miss. Service was a 10, ambiance a 10, food naturally a 10. I couldn't recommend more. They share parking with Hattie B's, so keep that in mind, otherwise there's a couple spots right out front. Perfect for date night. We'll be back. A lot.
M Aiello
Love this place. In addition to the great good, service, drinks and vibe, it is one of the only places in Nashville observing every piece of covid safety regs and then some. I feel safe going there even during a surge. Thank you Miel
Matt Moore
This place has stood the test of time and continues to impress delivering amazing food a great offering of spirits from their small bar. They opened over ten years ago providing a classy sit down dining experience in Sylvan Park which at the time was all fast food or buffet. The menu changes seasonally but luckily the wonderful staff and friendly owner remain. They have amazing things to accompany fresh bread and a glass of wine and then tapas plates featuring mostly vegetables and smaller entrees with succulent meats. Mix it all together and share with friends.

Seema and her staff were fantastic. We used Miel and the pastry chef for our wedding and we could not have been happier. They were amazing. They were easy to communicate with.
We wanted a french wedding cake and pastries for our wedding because we had family from France visiting us. We could not find anyone in Nashville that could make a croquembouche. They not only could, but knocked it out of the park.
Fantastic, can not say enough.
Raquel Bertolotti
Really wanted to like this place, but between the swarm of bugs around the table and the painfully awkward server — it was a hard sell. We were fighting off bugs like an episode of Naked and Afraid. Food and drinks were long waited on and did not live up to the anticipation. Don’t put specialty items like crudo and fois de gras on the menu if you can’t execute it — do less. 3 stars because the hostess was a living angel and I hope she has a wonderful life.
Nikko Giovino
Great restaurant! The dishes are all perfect and the staff and ownership are top notch. Excellent date night spot but also a great place to go for happy hour. Try the pork shoulder dish or the duck if it is available. The deserts are also extremely tasty. Exceptional wine list, creative cocktails, and a good assortment of bourbon. Try this place out if you haven't already!

To a hurried passerby, Miel might easily evade even an observant eye. Situated snuggly behind a tavern and ice cream stand, Miel offers more than simply its sensational fare. The chefs can be found harvesting herbs from the garden and outdoor seating area, while the primal comfort of a fire radiates from nearby. I enjoyed starting with the sourdough bread, that, as is the case for the menu as a whole, is made in house. The warm and familiar spice of an old fashioned that I found in the Project Manhattan hung with the smoke. The New York strip was clad in sautéd mushrooms, and sat atop some of the best fingerling potatoes I’ve enjoyed. The staff is professional and relaxed, that fits with the overall atmosphere. The price points are wonderful, as well. You can enjoy the $45 NY strip, or the $8 Miel burger without sacrificing quality. Whether as the spot to entertain your from-out-of-town guests, or as to only to take yourself on a date (like I did), Miel is highly recommended!
[Note: the Opinel steak knives definitely give a proper nod to this restaurant’s French inspiration.]

Had an amazing dinner at Miel for our 5 year anniversary!
Service: We arrive 10 minutes early for our reservation and they sat us immediately. The server was prompt and thorough and sweet. The host was gracious.
Food: The food was great! The quality was amazing. Perfectly done scallops made me smile. We had escargot, bouillabaisse, and salmon between us and both of us were smiling happy through the entire meal. amazing vegetables.
Dessert: I could only eat their creme brulee for the rest of my life and be happy, until I tasted the almond chiffon cake and fell head over heels for it.
Atmosphere: Completely engaged in the meal. Everyone in the restaurant was 100% engaged it what was happening, no cell phones, no tvs no music, just your dining partner. Very romantic!
Parking: There is a lot for the restaurant just 2 doors down. Its on the right.

Desserts. The food is fresh and very creative. We took a group of 5 & had a wonderful time sharing salads, entrees &

Absolutely wonderful experience. Great service, amazing food, all in a great atmosphere. We'll certainly be back.

Mind you we have eaten French from Japan to France and many, many places in the US. This was defiantly French style cooking, but not what we have found in mainstream French restaurants. It was good, but the selections were different. Also the interior needs covering in sound absorbing (but not grease absorbing) material to quiet it and they need to put up walls between the cooking area and the dining area so it doesn't have that greasy aroma when you walk in and sit down.
Ginger Jones
I want to give Miel a five-star so badly! The maître d' was lovely, and super cute to my 6-month old nephew. The food was so-so. I had the gnocchi with pulled pork, which I have to say was awesome. My other family had a fish/shrimp dish, and the cow cheek. Both were terrible. The cheese platter was great! I think there is better in Nashville!
Daniel Pomerantz
I ate at Miel for the first time the other night. I thought the food was very good, but not great. All-in-all I found the restaraunt over-priced: Not only was the food slightly too expensive for what you get IMHO, but they gouged us on soft drinks ($2 each, without refills). Additionally, the menu listed a wine which retails for $15 a bottle for $9 a glass, and when the check came, they charged us $12 for that single glass. While some may find that acceptable, it's enough to make me not return.
Pilar Vetsch
My family and I had a great dinner experience!
John Hamilton
Miel is my favorite Nashville restaurant bar none. I have been eating there for years and I have never had a bad experience. They have farm fresh veggies and a seasonally changing menu. The service is part of the whole experience. Go there.
Vi SD
My boyfriend (now husband) thought this was a Michelin star restaurant 😂
It was very good, and probably the fanciest place we've eaten at. We had something with a lot of mushrooms in it. It stank in such a good way.
We're not the kind of people who do a lot of fancy anything, but we would come back here with a bigger budget sometime in the future.
Elizabeth Macintosh
If I could give this place more than 5 stars I would. Food was amazing, staff was beyond exceptional and dinner here was a true experience.
Laura Fitzgerald
Hidden gem. How I’ve waited so long to visit, I have no idea. This place was great. Had a delicious (and strong) cocktail, some coppa for an app (good), then the pork shoulder (freaking amazing) with a wine pairing the bartender picked out (spot on).
Will definitely be back!!
Thomas Cooper
That I only recently discovered this restaurant is a shame.
Fine cuisine is difficult the find in Nashville
Your number of bad southern fare litters the landscape.
Miel has been around for 9 years. Simple, creative and elegant. I had a lamb tartar appetizer that changed my life. My main course was a parmesan and nomeko risotto. Four days later I am reminiscing it's flavor like the kiss of a long lost lover.
Carlos Lopez
Outstanding food, very accommodating to dietary needs. Great vegetarian and vegan options. The owners are very attentive to guest details. One of the best restaurants in Nashville!
William Martin
Always a great experience, the drink and food menu is always changing and the presentation of the food is always on point. The flavors and quality of the food are amazing. They are always having fun events and their happy hour is awesome! highly recommend.
Kathy Chiavola
Great restaurant, my favorite in Nashville!! The food is superb! Much is locally sourced. Great service and atmosphere. Elegant but relaxed. Right in Sylvan Park. Can't beat that!
Paul F
One of Nashville's best dining experiences. Great fresh, often local food in a non-pretentious atmosphere with great service. Quality is not cheap. I think of Miel as similar to Sunset Grill.
Matthew Steidl
Excellent! Very imaginative dishes. Beautiful patio.
Carissa Cascio
Consistently amazing food. Upscale but not stuffy. Great service. This one has stood the test of time against the revolving door of the Nashville restaurant scene!
Michelle Sias
An exquisite fine dining experience. Excellent service and outstanding flavors in everything. We were there for New Year's Eve and it was a pre-fixe menu. It did not disappoint at all.
Doug Leonard
We enjoyed the octopus appetizer along with the short ribs and 45 day aged steak. Service was excellent.
Michelle Young
Inventive dishes, good service & great ambience, and I appreciate their rigorous Covid safety protocols, but very small portion sizes and underwhelming flavors for the high price point.
Kristen Barber
Another exceptionally curated dinner and wine event at Miel. Tonight we met Chablis wine maker, Francois Servin, and tasted his amazing chardonnays.
Ravi Mallikarjunan
Great ambiance, very delicious food...vaccaination protocol enforced...nice job Seema Prasad...will definitely come see you again...may be you can wip up samosas for me this time...
