Reviews of Listening Room Cafe
Carolyn Glover
First time at The Listening Room, and it will not be my last. There were 4 of us on a Monday night, and saw 5 singer/songwriters. Each one of them were so talented and different; each one brought their individual talents to the table. There’s a $15 minimum per person, which was totally worth it. We each had two drinks and sandwiches, and they were pretty tasty. But you’re not there for the food. You’re there to enjoy local talent and have a great evening. Highly recommend!
Sophie Ochocinski
We had such a great experience here! 3 of my friends and I went on a Saturday night and were so happy we got tickets. There were 4 artists performing, they made it vulnerable, real, and such a cool experience. The drinks were reasonably priced and the food which was bar food was pretty good. We shared a plate of fries and wings. You have to go here if you come to Nashville and get tickets beforehand!! Don’t wait on this!

This is really a neat place and super reasonable. We went on a Monday night and saw the Song Suffragettes which is a large group of women who perform individually here. (You can watch them live on You Tube on Monday evenings also.). Just $5 for a ticket and then spend $15 per person on food and drink. Loved hearing their stories and songs on acoustic guitars . Music isn’t too loud so you can still hear yourself and it is a family friendly environment. Come check this place out and show your support for all the female songwriters!

Such a fun place for an evening of food and entertainment. And reasonably priced!! We saw the Song Suffragettes at the 6pm show. Good music, laughter and dinner was pretty good too. Great service. Go early to pick the best seats. We liked the high top tables by the bar. You can easily see the stage and have a bit of breathing room.

The food was ok, but that wasn't why we went. We wanted a live music experience in Nashville that didn't involve cover bands. This was outstanding! The night we went had four incredibly talented songwriters and recording artists: Alex Hall, Josh Jenkins, John Hutchinson and Travis Wood. Without question this evening was one of the BEST live music experiences in my life. We went back for a second night a few days later. If you're in Nashville, you cannot miss The Listening Room.
Alison Hopkins
The staff were all knowledgeable and friendly. They worked hard to serve our full room with smiles and pep. The food was yummy and some of the biggest wings I've seen. Our show was memorable, even without the power outrage due to the rolling thunder and lightning outside! Young people ok, but if not talking is an issue, Id say not kid friendly only because it is intended to be well... a Listening Room! (I'm a momma, speaking with understanding)
10/10 reccomend!

The Listening Room was an amazing experience for my high school choir. Everyone was most helpful and the concert was fantastic. All of my students were inspired and impressed with the artists. I was pleasantly surprised when the artists took the time to speak with each student and take pictures with them. I know this was an experience they will never forget!
NaCole Shortt
Great atmosphere, Food was pretty good. We had the Chicken Biscuit & Bar B Q Burger Unfortunately we didn’t make the shows. We found out about this venue the last day of our trip. We’ve heard it’s the place to be. Will definitely be back on our next trip!

POINTER: Use the valet parking. Local parking is outrageous so get there a bit early! Excellent place to listen to live fresh real music by the artist who actually write the songs. Food is decent, served kinda weird but that might be a local thing. Only downside I seen was the mess of coming in and going out the same doors and trying to figure out what you needed to do to get inside and ready.
Sean Hunter
Excellent up close and personal with emerging artists. A real insight into the artist and what it takes to make it big. Not a guarantee but these folks share their sacrifice so they can pursue their dream of music and the message. Great experience.
Lance McAlister
Outstanding setting for music.
Enjoyed dinner while we ate. Service was excellent. Staff does great job of not distracting from the performances while serving drinks/food. Ticket price very reasonable. A must visit while in Nashville.
Ashley
Loved this experience! A Lyft driver recommended checking out a place with songwriters and so glad we did! Absolutely amazing experience with very talented songwriters and singers! I look forward to following their music and careers.
Gordon Mitchell
A must stop when in Nashville. The music & the stories make for a perfect evening. Seeing and hearing amazing artists in an intimate room (no talking during the performance please) is wonderful. The entry fee is a STEAL, the food is very good, the service is "quiet" and very professional / respectful. No matter who is on stage, the evening is one you will not forget. Bought the t-shirt and the hat! RESPECT!

Highlight of my trip to nashville right here, what an inspiring experience! Just incredible music and human beings!
These guys are the heart and start of all the incredible music you hear on country radio these days. Song writers behind the big hits, they make the music, they sing the music, they are amazing!
Abbe Aiello
Amazing concept and the food was great! Lives the turkey apple sandwich. Great to be able to actually hear the artist as quiet conversation is requested. Truly a great place to listen and appreciate the artists themselves!!
Frank Collins
Dinner. Stage. Four independent singer song writers unknown to each other. Each artist gets a stool, a mic, a speaker and a sequential turn to perform. Intimate setting. Personal attention with great wait staff and okay food. No vegetarian protein options. Portebello burger does not count (come on Nashville, this is not the 1980s anymore). Would I return? Yes, for the venue and the artists, not the food. Valet parking is weird. We walked from the JW a few easy blocks. Not a place for young kids.
Chris Hall
This place is off the charts fun. Great Music and great stories with the music.. We origionally wanted to go to the Bluebird Cafe but ended up here and we were NOT disappointed. We plan to return everytome we are I'm Nashville. Definately recommend. Service was great , food was great and show was amazing...

Words cannot even begin to express how grateful we are to the Listening Room Cafe.
Our family member lost her battle to cancer and one of her wishes was to have us all come back where she used to play. I reached out to the cafe with less than a week to plan everything. The manager, Dustin, replied back right away and even went above and beyond for us.
The venue is fun, the singers and songwriters were talented, the food & drinks were good, and our beautiful Jaye was right up there on stage where she belonged.
I have never in my life seen such kindness.
Once again, thank you so much to everyone for making this so special for us!
Thomas Graspo
I went there for dinner and they had live music on a Monday night. No cover charge to place was three-quarters full, I have the turkey sandwich which was delicious and was priced reasonably. The drink start rotate $9 a piece I didn't have a beer I had a cocktail so bring your American Express card. I'll definitely be back when I'm in town. The bartender was very friendly and delightful she's from San Antonio I forgot her name but she was very helpful and nice to talk to
Ralph Demilio
Interesting place .me and my party had a great time .friendly staff .ok food . Venue is classic Nashville , older architecture , renewed with a great style . The show changes every night as Nashville artists rotate each show .during the show they take turns playing acoustic pieces , while the crowd snacks and drinks .
Ian Dunbar
Had a great time here while waiting for our flight. Good food, live tunes, and some drinks to top it off.
Dan Walser
Great place to hear amazing acoustic music away from the craziness of Broadway. Food and drinks were also good. Highly recommend!
Jo Ann Davis
Loved this concept, get to listen to song writers play their own music and talk about their process. Food was good, we did the basic burger and fries & beer. Service was slow but it was very busy. Limited seating so make reservations. Great place to spend an evening listening to good music
Paco Reviews
Positives: hearing local talent
Indifferent: food was so so.
Negative: they do have a minimum charge of I think$50 that you must spend to eat.
Overall: you gotta love country music because most of their artists fall under that umbrella. It is only acoustic sets. You can't talk loud, you really are there to just listen. You gotta respect the artists that come out and are trying to live their dreams. I would categorize this as a great place to visit once if you are not from Nashville.
Maybe a 1st or 2nd date option if you live in Nashville.
Jessica F
The artists were wonderful and it was a great experience. The drinks & music were great, service was also great. The food was kinda meh. I would eat before you. The pretzels were really small and you only got 2 of them for $9? The beer cheese was kind of gritty tasting. We were not fans. Fries were the best part. Wings are smoked, not saucy. Burger patty was very thin and potato bun was thick so it tasted mostly like bun. Fried pickles were not bad. Nothing to write home about. I would go purely for entertainment and drinks. Skip the food.
James
I loved everything about my visit here. It is a great experience to hear amazing song writers tell the stories behind the music and then hear them play in such a fantastic venue. The food is good. Service is exceptional. I would visit here every time I visit Nashville and this may be the only place in Nashville I would say that about. It is fun to walk along Broadway and experience that as a tourist but when you are done sight seeing and ready to actually dine, drink, and listen to the music that makes Nashville so special, don't fight the crowds and wait lists. Do yourself a favor and reserve a spot at the listening room. And since every night is a new lineup, each visit can be different.
Joanne Lager
The music was great. It’s an intimate venue and a lot of fun to hear songwriters pay their tunes. Food was okay and menu had very limited options for people with dietary restrictions, but the service was good and the waitress did her best to identify good options.
Joy Heffinger
My daughter Krystal King was performing today. Enjoyed listening to all the girls.
THE KING TEAM - REMAX Patriot Realty
So we tried to get into the main Sound concert event, and it was sold out.
So we decided to try out the 430 show which is in the bar area.
The sound was horrible, whoever was running, the sound should’ve known that they needed but microphones. Awesome instrument not just the singer.
Now for the food.
The wings were a 15 out of 10! I have never had wings better than this anywhere in the world.
We next had the shrimp and grits, but unfortunately cut out the shrimp it just wasn’t very good and not much flavor.
I had the portobello mushroom burger that was good but it could’ve been cooked a little longer. It was kind of just OK.
Sandy Rice
We were just trying to find something to eat and came across this sweet songwriter show. At first you walk up and it seems like a dead restaurant. But we went in and wound up getting tickets for great seats to the show in this large back room. The vibes were great. Service was great. And the menu was far from just bar food. Highly recommend when you come to town.
Leo Davelman
This place is absolutely one of a kind amazing. If you want to feel like your are actually interacting with singers/songwriters, rather than simply being entertained by their show, this is the place to be. An absolute "must" in every visit to Nashville.
Sam Herzog
Awesome place to hear some upcoming artists and their new songs! The food and drinks were great as well. You do have to buy tickets for the show although they are usually under $20
Jose Manuel Villar Serpa
This place is just incredible! The music talent that you'll find here is just overwhelming! You'll live it!
Tolga Tem
Cool place, thank you for supporting the artists. Would you consider showing the artists’ contact info (Instagram, Spotify links, etc) and even paste the lyrics as they sing for example? That would be very nice.
Cedric De Sousa
This was a very nice surprise. A very different experience than Broadway. We loved both but this place you get a much more intimate experience with the song writers. Great food and drink as well. Highly recommend going. Just look up for show times prior to arriving.
Scott Jurgensmeyer
One of the best venues anywhere to hear original music. You can hear every word and note. Amazing talent!
C A Virca
Clean and relaxed space. I thoroughly enjoyed a delicious turkey apple crisp sandwich with brussel sprouts side. I was in heaven. The sandwich was like Thanksgiving on bread and the brussels were decadent with bacon and sweetness on top. I was there to check out the event space for a corporate client and was very pleasantly surprised with the back room entertainment area. It's a perfect space for many types of events. There was a local singer/songwriter, Chelsea Stalling I believe, performing midday in the front bar/cafe area. Loved her sound and her personal songs. I hope to go back when I visit Nashville again.
Austin Hearn
Awesome experience! It’s $5 a person to reserve a 90 minute time slot to see a live show, that comes with a brunch or dinner menu, and a full bar. The entertainment was (almost) unexpectedly fantastic and funny. The food was pretty solid as well. The drinks were strong and fairly priced. THIS IS A MUST DO WHILE YOU’RE IN NASHVILLE. NO QUESTIONS ASKED! It is a quiet show so you’re expected to keep it down and not party too hard, and you’ll have a server coming in to check up on you!
Scott (carsco314)
Unbelievable venue and the staff is FIRST CLASS. Incredible song writers block. Go see anything you can at this venue!
Lee Johnson
One of the best places to see live music in Nashville.
Being able to see friends perform here makes it even more special.
Sueanne Bacan
What a treat. A definite must do. These song writers are the true artists. Venue was great. Will definitely do this again
Brett
The show, singer/songwriters I give 5 stars, they were excellent.
The food/drinks is equivalent to bad airport/cafeteria food, it shouldn’t be that difficult to serve good food and drinks. We were there for a brunch show.
Also don’t understand their ‘keep your conversations to a whisper or you’ll be asked to leave, but they allowed a crying baby, it was very distracting.
Having said that, don’t know if would go again because I would not want to order their food/drinks.
Ernest. Lock
A really great music experience and venue to enjoy live performances by singer-songwriters. Audience is there to enjoy music. Great bar food, beer, and cocktails. Easy walking distance from Broadway street.
Ed Naylor
Great spot no matter who's performing. Just a great vibe. Food portions are on the large side - including the apps, so be warned. Should put it in the budget and go monthly; it's that fun.
T D
Great hybrid venue. Small intimate setting for small/new artists combined with decent food and good service.
Josh Garber
Saw Tiffany Ashton here in concert and it was an incredible evening. The acoustics are great the food is top notch and it was overall a really enjoyable evening. Well worth stopping in and checking out a show here.
Vladimir Derenchuk
I would give it a 3 1/2 if that was possible. My biggest issue was the randomized seating. 15 of us bought tickets and were seated all over the room. But also the food wasn't very good. It would be easy to make an improvement in that area.
Kay Mcmillan
Enjoyed the amazing talent of 5 female songwriters/artists on a Mondayevening. It was one of the highlights of our trip. I'm never successful in getting tickets to get into The Bluebird but this listening cafe more than made up for that. Website describeds it as an intimate setting and reads as if they do not tolerate loud table conversations. However, they did allow a party of approximately 12-15 to be seated together and ultimately they were loud throughout the majority of the performance. We weren't even sitting next to them and it was distracting. We felt bad for those who were and nothing was done to quiet the large party down. It was disappointing.
Carol M
Driving from Arkansas, arriving at dinner time, we were able to get tickets for a show a couple hours ahead of time while on the road. We got to enjoy a show and some great food on short notice. Favorite food was called Barbecue Sundae I think.
Casey Ammons
In town to see a friend perform here and it was a great little venue. Saturday brunch caught us off guard as we were looking for lunch and there were not a lot of great options. Killer venue however. Much larger than it looks.
L Smith
What a cool experience. Its like your own private concert. We were a large group and had no issues the food, service and music were all excellent.
Dianna Bradbury
My favorite thing to do in Nashville! I'm not a big country music fan but there's something so authentic about a songwriters performance and the story behind a song before it gets in the hands of a big artist. It's also something you can do with the whole family for an authentic Nashville experience.
james archer
This was my favorite part of my trip to Nashville. Great music, great food. Get the deep fried pickles, you only need one order per table.
Vicki Morgan
Everything was excellent except the sound. Vocals were too low and muffled. Food was yummy, service was quick, everything else was fun, relaxed, and we're coming back. Hopefully, the sound will get dialed in.
Tiffany Blackwell
Loved this place so much! A friend recommended we get tickets to The Listening Room so we did. It was a wonderful time of hearing stories of how songs we knew had come about straight from the writer themselves. All the artists that night had amazing voices and really loved the chemistry they all had on stage together as well. You can dress up or dress down and enjoy this show. It is a relaxed atmosphere with really good food and cocktails too. Tickets were only $25 for 2 people and they require you to spend $15 each on food or drinks. So for around $60 you have dinner and a show in Nashville. Really found it a unique experience.
Michael Peretto
Great night out ! All 3 songwiters were awesome. Seating a little tight, and servers were bashing their way through all night.
Bourbon Brownies did not even have a hint of Bourbon to them, just brownies.
Rebecca Showalter
The meatloaf sandwich and turkey apple crisp sandwiches were delicious!
A great place to hear fantastic singers/songwriters.
Erin Burdette
The Song Suffragettes were amazing!! All these ladies are super talented... I can't wait to get home and listen to more of their stuff. I'm so glad I ended up at this show after my other plans fell through! I will definitely hit up the Listening Room next time I'm in town to see what other awesome musicians are playing there!! The food I had was just "okay" but the beer was cold and the music was soooooo good!
Al Bowman
Best shrimp and grits I have ever eaten. Great atmosphere too. Some of the best customer service in Nashville.
Dan AI6XG Koellen
This the place to go to listen to up and coming song writers and country stars. We had a great time listening to the music and the stories behind them. The food is good, but you don't go there for the food. You go for the music. Service and drink is good as well. If you want a close seat, buy tickets online and arrive early. Seats are assigned as you come in.
William Klaver
Love this place. They have decent food and service but have up and comers in the country music business. Always at least 1 person I follow after the show.
Steve Senato
Love this off the beaten path! If your going to Nashville you have to go to the Listening Room to see and hear great original song writers perform their works and tell great stories. Oh, and they have good food too!
Addie Adams
An awesome place to hear original music!! Go for the music NOT the food. I should've just had the Tennessee Cheesecake.
Breanna B
Would give this six stars. Seriously our favorite place while visiting Nashville. It’s been a while since we’ve had live music and this was so good! There’s a small cover and food + bev min but it’s so worth it. Skip Broadway entirely and come here instead.
Jennifer W
I went to songwriters night at the listening room and it was wonderful. You have to be quiet so maybe not the date spot but if you are alone or with your hubby and want dinner this is the spot... during songwriters night. It was awesome to hear how the songs started and they were great performers themselves. I would say go early to make sure you get a good spot! I loved this experience.
Dave Verma
Great home town feel for local talent. Loved the artists they had on January 10, 2019. Food and drinks were good. My wife and I enjoyed the Sweet and sour pickles. My wife had a couple of bourbon drinks and I had a couple of drinks. One being a traditional margarita and it was good, The other drink called " The Girl Crush" was not good. It tasted like watered down fruit punch. Service was good. Everyone we interacted with was friendly and helpful. I actually forgot my jacket and my wife called them letting them know what table we were at and they held it for me till I could come back and get it. Thank you to all the hard working team members of the Listening Cafe. You don't want to miss this spot if you really want to experience some Nashville home town culture.
A Verma
Loved the performers and the music. Excellent that they expect the audience to keep the noise level down. It really allows one to appreciate the talent of the song writers. Fantastic venue with good service. The pickles are a must have! Would definitely come again.
Allen Whitmer
Excellent atmosphere. Relaxed and fun. Great service and food was excellent. A must stop in Nashville.
Thad Torix
If you’re not coming to listen to the Song Suffragettes absolutely own the night, are you even living? Seriously some of the most talented performers I’ve ever seen!!
GT Stepp
Watched and listened to 4 amazing songwriters/singers here. Got to enjoy some good food during the show.
Davianne Buckley
We really enjoyed the singer-songwriter show. The food and service were both very good, and we'll be back next time we visit Nashville.
Brian Cruze
So I'm sitting at H10. Male server said I need to open a bar tab, since I'm sitting adjacent to the bar. I told him, I usually pay after eating, but he insisted I had to give him my credit card. Seems inappropriate. I looked at the other tables next to me. No one else were asked for their credit card in advance. I feel discriminated at. Is it because I'm Brown & the other nearby visitors were white? I've visited here a million times. I have NEVER felt so discriminated against. As you can tell, this bartender ruined my night at this place. I know several of the workers there, but this guy gives off bad Vibes. Good customer service is hard to find nowdays.
Nevin Henderson
Just enjoyed an amazing show with Jimmie Allen and Neon Union! The service was also great. The reason for the 3 rating is because of the food and beverages. We ordered a BBQ Bacon Cheese Burger with the fixings on the side. The burger was horrible and literally they put everything on the side, including the bacon, BBQ sauce, and they forgot the cheese. We might have been okay with this if the burger was good but it was not 😥. Also, the fries had sugar on them as part of the seasoning. We then ordered a pint of beer, on tap, and one thing I could always count on was a glass. The first came in a glass but then my second came in plastic. I understand if I am on Broadway that is pretty much standard but when we come to the Listening Room we expect a little more. This review is more for management and I hope it gets there. We love the Listening Room and just want it to be a place with great music and a little more than just a cheap burger joint.
Mark Evans
This is a fun and pretty unique venue. We were there on a Friday evening with a group of 12. Three excellent songwriters (one a well known performer as well), did a great job. It was fun to hear the back stories of some of their work and also some of their songs which haven’t yet been picked up.
The acoustics and sound of the place is outstanding as is the lighting. It’s clear that they have really done a meticulous job to make this a venue that works for those performing.
All the food was quite reasonable and fine. Not amazing but no complaints at all. Service was very good.
Emily Dennis
We went to the Listening Room Cafe with a couple of friends for the first time on March 16 and we had a great time from beginning to end. First of all, we appreciated the $3 valet parking a few yards from the entrance to the cafe, the friendly staff, the good food and good service and the awesome performers that evening. We especially liked Jonathan Soul and his amazing talent singing and playing the guitar! We would come back anytime he's playing there again and next time we'll bring a few more friends. Brady Lee was good too.... The ticket price was very reasonable and we didn't mind spending the $15 (or more) per person food/drinks requirement since the food we all had were good! We got there early and had great seats in front but we wondered if the music would be too loud. Surprisingly, it wasn't. The volume wasn't too loud or too low and the overall atmosphere was wonderful!
Krissy Salley
The performers we saw were AWESOME. Good talent. The food was the let down, unfortunately. We were excited to eat here based on the menu listed on their website. Instead it was very limited, basic menu when we arrived. The server said "I am not sure why the menu is on the website like that." We walked a good distance from Broadway for this experience. We were sadly let down by the Brunch menu and on top of it the food was not served hot and it was just so so. The food wasn't bad it was just uninteresting and not hot (temperature). It is almost like they just prepared a bunch and plated it. The music was good and that's about it. But there is good music at lots of places in Nashville so it was not worth the 20 minute walk we endured to get there, in my opinion.
Jessica Colomer
Great space, great servers, and great music!super clean, quiet and all guests are paying attention to the musicians.
Alejandro Javaloyas
Visited Nashville for 4 days and wanted to attend one of their singer-songwriters evenings. We had a blast! The 4 young artists were extremely talented and the energy of the place was out of this world. We enjoyed the drinks more than the food, but we were really there for the music. Don't miss the opportunity to go, when in Nashville!
Wil Schurr
I don't have anything positive or negative to say about the place. It was an easy laid-back atmosphere. With each free ticket you have to promise to spend $15 in food. The food that we got was pretty decent but there's nothing spectacular about it. The guy who is singing was okay but his piano was way too loud so we really couldn't hear any words he was actually saying. I'm not 100% sure if I would go back so I realized this review is not super helpful. If you're looking for an okayish time and are trying to burn an hour or two This would probably be a good option.
Laura Youngman
The musicians are outstanding!!! Hands down our favorite venue in Nashville… However, the last two visits were definitely impacted by the tables that talked incessantly- would recommend they better enforce the minimum table talk so that we can actually “listen” at the Listening Room.
Bill Alesio
Great venue to see singer-songwriters in an attentive listening environment. We were there on a Monday which was likely less lively than a weekend, but it was the perfect finish to a long weekend in Nashville. I highly recommend checking it out.
Lenora Santana
We love The Listening Room Cafe! We have been twice to see the Song Suffragettes and they are wonderful. Always a great experience.
The food was interesting. I had the turkey apple crisp and it was fresh but not my favorite. The fries were hot and crispy and had an unusual seasoning that I did not care for. My husband thought they were delicious with ketchup. He had the smash burger and loved it. The margarita, well not many places serve an excellent margarita, so no surprise that it was so so. I had a Girl Crush, also a disappointment. Don’t go for the food. But they want a $15 minimum per person. I would just as soon give them the money and not order next time.
I still give 5 stars because the music is what we came for and it did not disappoint!!! Thanks Listening Room and Song Suffragettes!
Kevin H
Been here twice and have enjoyed every moment of it! This time was to see Gabby and friends; i will come anywhere Gabby and Henry plays! Love this place! Staff is amazing as well!
Susan Farley
Nice little venue; has a bar and good restroom facilities. Seating was available. Parking is limited, and I had to pay $15 to park next door. Awesome party!
Keith Larremore
Our favorite venue for singer/songwriter performances. I wish we would have purchased tickets for everyday of our trip.
Elizabeth Tam
The Listening Room is a cool spot for some live music from rising musicians. Only downfall is you may not know what kind of music to expect. I would make sure to get your tickets in advanced as tickets will sell out. There is usually a food and beverage minimum in addition to the ticket cost.
Korey Gibbs
Such a great venue! We went down to see Macy Krew's Girl Power Hour and it was amazing! Macy and her line up were all amazing and she is a great host! This is will a staple to take all of our out of town guests too!
Ron Humes
Great location and and a truly intimate experience with artists in a small acoustic venue. Check it out!
Sam Morrison
Excellent! Great music.... be prepared, there is a minimum 15.00 per person food/drink requirement.
Rick Petri
So many great places to listen to music in Nashville, TLR doesn't disappoint with a great variety of sooner/songwriters in a relaxing atmosphere. Be sure to check out Monday Song Suffragettes.
Steven Reints
Great place to see new singer/songwriters and actually listen to the music. The food was good. Great alternative to the big crowded bars. We would go back.
Bob Clark
Great experience to listen to the stories and hear songs from 5 artists on the night we visited.
foodieyoginigardener
Great music, ok food, mediocre drink. Song Suffragettes were fabulous! Just wish it was a longer for the price we had to pay for both admission plus a minimum tab requirement. Also the artist's names could have been repeated!
Laura Dolan
I don’t even like country music but I enjoy hearing the stories behind the songs so much. I’ve been twice in the last 6 months. I recommend it to anyone asking what to do in Nashville. Such a unique experience and usually quite humorous.
Mike V
Cool place the performers are really good and very nice setting and family friendly I brought my 9 yr old she loved it , amazing servers
Sami Dressel
Great experience seeing Carly Pearce, Hannah Ellis & Emily Shackleton. Get there early for front seats! Amazing show@
Bridget Sexton
First time in Nashville and everyone told us we for sure had to come. Best advice ever. We all enjoyed ourselves, can't wait to come back

My favorite Nashville stop both times I've visited! Relaxed atmosphere, I crave the turkey & apple sandwich and the musicians are some of the most talented I've heard live!
J. Mutterspaugh
Nice experience. You pay a cover charge, then have a $15 meal minimum and free Valet parking which was nice. Menu was very small and drinks were overpriced. Music was amazing.
Jamie O'Dwyer
The tip thing I did in Nashville. Got to listen to 4 up and coming country music artists. They each took turns to sing a song, all while you eat and have a drink. Very relaxed setting.
Scott Ashby
Excellent experience! If want to get away from Broadway for awhile, definitely do this. So much incredible talent.
Art Lochrie
Great place to hear live country music! Met see amazing artists! Such a great experience! Been twice. Plan on going there every time I am in Nashville!
Jon
Food not so great, but it's not why you go. A great night's entertainment.
Julia Enthoven
Had an outstanding experience at this cafe. The performers were excellent and had me laughing and crying.
The food and drink were not good. My margarita was way over-salted, and their menu is much more limited than this online version. Still overall a great show!
Chris Heredia
Make it a point to visit this place. I don't have to convince the dye hard fans, but if you are on the fence take the opportunity if you have it.
Great food, great service, great atmosphere.
Joel Cohen
Great venue to see new artists who are looking to get recognized for their talents in country music, tried the brisket and it was awful, reccomend the chicken tenders.
Melissa L
We really enjoyed ourselves and loved the environment. We did not enjoy the fried pickles, but the drinks were good.
Anita Laabs
We were clueless and didn't know we needed tickets. The show was half over so they let us sit at the bar without tickets. Good show.
AeroJoeA
Still the classiest place to hear the best live music in Nashville! No other venue even comes close!
Madeline Browne
Four stars because the food was awful - cold and full of grease. The music was incredible and a very intimate experience - go if you love country and want to hear up and coming stars at acoustic. Don’t go if you want to dance and jam to popular country (not that kind of place)
Kara Monroe
Live music, good food and a great time with friends or on your own
Marianne Crane
We had such a great time! Being able to listen to musicians at various stages of their careers and hearing stories about the songs was fantastic. This will be a frequently visited place for us, without doubt!
Jio
Melinda rose is great. She plays Thursdays and if you like jazz you’ll love it.
Stephen McGowan
Great venue and music. Bought tickets at the door and wasn't informed of the $15 minimum for food and drink. Not a big deal but drinks at the bar before the show didn't count. Overall would highly recommend!
Jason Weaver
Fun and unique venue. Enjoyed the performers. Good drinks and cocktails. Wasn’t impressed with the food though….pulled pork was mediocre. Green beans were not appetizing at all. Probably best if you order the fries as your side dish instead!
Shelli Black
As a local, I love coming to this place! The $3 valet parking makes it really easy to get in & out. The staff is always very friendly! You can get a drink at the bar if you're early, waiting for the doors to open, but it doesn't count towards your $15 min once you're at your table. Since it's known for its music, we didn't expect much from the food but were pleasantly surprised! We love their sweet & spicy fried pickles! Also their French fries have a dry rub seasoning on them that is delicious! The whole area is small enough that you're going to get a good seat and the acoustics sound good. We've seen shows where we left saying "Well that was interesting" and we've left shows saying "that was incredible!" It can be a little bit of a mixed bag but overall, it's a great way to spend an evening!
Vince Surra
We had a great night with excellent musicians and great service. The prices were about as expected for Nashville.
Tom Elrod
Amazing place. Friendly staff. Cool space. Great original music. We went to the later show after dinner elsewhere so I can’t comment on the food. The entire experience was one of the highlights of our trip to Nashville. I’ll definitely go back to the Listening Room.
rohit kamra
Unique experience in nashville. They care about their musicians and we really enjoyed our time. Try to come slightly early so you can grab a drink and find a good table
Beki Hamilton
Really enjoyed the listening room. We went on a Tuesday night for The Movement, which is up and coming acts in Nashville, and loved it. All the artists were very talented and entertaining. It's a casual and comfortable environment and I would go back again.
Richard Kirby
Completely enjoyed the experience with the song writers doing their songs. Service was good and drinks were reasonably priced. Highly recommend if listening to good artist who love their work, performing their songs is your thing.
Daniel Jones
Cool restaurant/music venue, the acoustics were good, the staff was great, the food was ok, and the over all experience was really fun. I went to a writers night and they’re were four different artists that performed and it was really cool seeing local artists debut their work. Hopefully ill return soon!
Andy Schmandy
An unusual venue, rather than hearing musicians you are actually hearing the people who wrote the songs. They are all songwriters. But their musicianship is excellent and they sound great. The sound system is professional, the lighting is professional. Meals served in a dinner theatre venue. All well done and worth attending. Plenty of off street vale parking for only 3 bucks. Be sure to have reservations to get tables close to the stage
Chickie Chou
Had a really great time listening to songwriters. Truly a great experience, if your in town check out this place . Valet parking is 3.00 just make sure to make a be line to the valet once the show is done !
Andres Quesada
Lovely place with a lovely concept! Blends music venue and restaurant seamlessly. Enjoy delicious southern food while being serenaded by the nights artist. The food was delicious, make sure to try the brussel sprouts. Theres a cover to come into the dining/performance area, but it was only 5 dollars the night I went.
Chelsea ONeal
UPDATE: 1/14. I wanted to say thank you to the manager Danny Paquet she was very understanding to the situation and very kind.
****again I would definitely give them a second chance if I am ever back to Nashville.
The music was excellent! The three musicians were very entertaining. The service we received was the worst EVER! After about 30 minutes I inquired with our waitress when we would get our food. She never came back so g try then after 15 more minutes I asked a different waitress who eventually got it. Our original waitress NEVER came to the table except to bring our check 😡
Gabbie Flowerette
Best burger I've ever had! The burger was so delicious and I loved the pickles!!
My only complaint is that it was hard to access the menu on my phone and they didn't have any at the table.
Tony Mitchell
It was my first time to go to the Listening Room. I went there with friends to see Pam Tillis. She put on a Great show!!. Staff was nice and the food was good. Had a Great time.
Link Almogela
Amazing artists coupled with great food/drinks and service. Simply a must do for any music lover.
Bruce Taggart
Amazing experience.
Loved the intimate atmosphere to hear the stories behind the music.
Food and drinks were good also.
For a great night out you can't beat The Listening Room.
JonRob 951
Fun experience in a neat setting. 4 stars because the food wasn't great and it was overpriced. I'd recommend eating beforehand and getting just drinks here. Skip the food. Other than that this is a great venue.
Derek Welch
All of the musicians we saw were good, and a few of the artists were exceptional. We are only casual country fans and even we recognized that the country artist, the Dryes, were blow-away good. Some of their songs moved us to tears! Kate Cosentino also knocked our socks off. She is bound to blow up.
The smoked wings are phenomenal - get them!
The fried pickles are bread and butter style, not dill, so those didn't do it for us. A nice generous portion, though.
Good service as well.
Just go!!
David Burton
Sweat and sour pickles are terrible (just fyi). Live music was good and the service was friendly.
12u Crystal Lake Bombers
We came in from Chicago and we were treated like royalty!! Great food, great customer service, great wait staff!! A lot of fun for the whole family or a great adult night out too! Can't wait to visit Nashville again and will definitely be visiting this place!! Thanks so much
Erik Orue
I was very impressed by this place. The food was moderately priced which surprised me considering the entertainment. Great set up, speedy service, and excellent entertainment. I even brought my 10 year old and he had a blast. There is a $15 minimum per person on food but that’s easily attainable with drinks. I would highly recommend this place.
Mark A.
Management NEEDS to train thier crew . things I noticed , ordered a kubalibre and received Rum on the rocks. Fixed immediately, the table in front got half of thier dinner delivered but the next table got the other half. It turns out it was table 2s meals and they should not have been seperated. A bar tab never started paid less but a mistake none the less. Brass Field Alley are up incoming group, clear fresh harmonies, good original songs and talanted guitarist for a left hander.
Russell Ali
Good food good service and great music easy to park with their valet parking
Teach Veech
Superb sound and sound mixing. Must buy a ticket to attend and then must buy a minimum of $15 in food per person. Food is good and the music is excellent!
K G
Great experience! Intimate venue. Emerging artists. The pickles are amazing. If you can, try pop pops cole slaw, and their TLR Mule. Fun nite!!
Carlos Gutierrez
This was a great place to hear some great music in it's rawest form (if that's a word). Good food, good music, good drinks. If you're in the area, check it out!
Brooke Jordan
It's amust-do while in Nashville. Very cool experience. This was our second visit. We had a fantastic server, Dallas. Thanks!!
Clif Dickens
A solid part of the Nashville music scene. It's not my favorite music venue, but you can always bank on hearing live music from local musicians. It's one of those places you appreciate being around even if you don't go very often.
Cat Fletcher
Absolutely amazing experience
If You ever get the chance to go to not miss out on this
Emmy Slager
Such a cool venue..would highly recommend seeing a show here! Feels very intimate and relaxed. Service was very good too. Very affordable price point as well with $15 tickets and a $15 minimum plus only $3 for valet parking. Kind of unheard of to get dinner and a show for that price anywhere else. Definitely will be back!
Patricia Hall
Such a fun night out. Would absolutely go again. The food is just average, but the entertainment is a 10/10!
Mallory Bryan
This is a must do while in Nashville! Probably my favorite part of our stay. We loved Jesse, Matt, and Chris, and our server Erin (from Maryland?). She was so kind, patient, informative, quick, and adorable! We especially loved the spiritual take on some of the music as well as the humorous song/conversations. It was the perfect blend of music, songs, and talk to make for a happy evening. The food was also amazing! Worth every penny. Some very talented songwriters and singers we were privileged to see!
Jennifer Swanson
Absolutely my favorite place in Nashville! Food is great, service impeccable and the artists are phenomenal!-better than most of what plays on the radio. I continue to wonder why these people aren't famous.
Ryan Hart
Nice intimate venue, great talent, unbelievably affordable, thoroughly enjoyed it.
One note of caution, if you sit at the bar the bartenders will do bartender things throughout the concert (make loud ice noises, wash glasses, mix drinks, etc.). It didn't bother me but it could be potentially distracting from the musical talent if someone wasn't expecting it.
D'Ann Colley
Love love love this place! We saw Gina Veneer, Summer Overstreet & Kasey Tyndall. They were awesome.
Lance Anderson
Incredible artists and such a great spot. The highlight of our Nashville experience.
Karen Maynard
I cannot begin explain what a wonderful experience this is! From the moment we walked in and talked to the ladies at front, to the bartenders, I'm telling you it was the best service and greatest atmosphere. Then, going in to the concert area, it is so organized and the staff is so, idk, nice! They love it as much as we do and they want us to have the best experience ever. I don't even want to give it all these stars and compliments because this great place will be overrun as people discover it's greatness...but I also want others to feel the vibe. The truth is the truth! If you can't get tickets online, swing by. Sometimes they can pull strings! This is a place you will talk about for years to come!
David Nussear
Great venue to listen to music. Service is excellent and the food good (for pub grub)
Brian Gentry
Very nice venue. The food was good, and reasonably priced. I would recommend this as a place to visit while in Nashville
Nicole Faulkner
Watched my favorite songwriter, Steve Dean perform Watching You. Amazing.
Kim Mendonca
Really awesome spot to listen to artists and the food is great! Went to see Sean Kennedy and friends and it was such a great show — from the music to the entertainment of the artists we had a great night!
Alex McDonnell
The show was amazing. 3 stars because the food isn't great. The qr code menus were a bit misleading and our waitress was frustrated that we used that system instead of ordering through her. We were confused because all of the signs said that is what we needed to do. Overall, a great experience. The music was worth the sub-par food.
matthew baker
Amazing experience. What a perfect way to immerse into up and coming artists with exceptional food and service. Can't recommend enough.
Kathy Gardner
Super cool evening with amazing artists! We love that venue!
Jay
Great place to grab a bite to eat and catch a show. Great live music and a good atmosphere. It's wasn't too loud like most places trying to draw people in off the street.
Jennifer Crown
This is a great place to see a small show of up and coming artists. It is a small venue with food and drinks ($15 min). The staff is friendly and helpful. When in Nashville I will definitely go back again. We saw Hannah Ellis, Nick Wayne and Roman Alexander.
Michael Horning
10/10 on experience. Its also my favorite spot in Nashville. for just getting a drink and listening to great upcoming song writers.
Renato Martins
Good music and food are just OK. Service is good and friendly.
Florian Buechting
It's my favorite venue in Nashville. Nice stage, good artists. Food and staff are very friendly
Alfred D'Onofrio
A great venue to see singer songwriters sharing their work. We always bring our friends and family when they visit. Definitely represents the best of Nashville. Not loud and crazy like the honky-tonks on Broadway. You should make show reservations on-line before heading there, although they have a nice bar / restaurant area up front outside the music venue.
L
How wonderful! The music, waitstaff, and beverages! I wish there were additional sizes of tee-shirts-- it would be a nice memory to have.
Mamie Ju Raynaud
Great music and good food and drinks all rolled into one evening. We went twice on a quick first-time visit to Nashville, and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.
Troy Lachinski
Great setting to watch live music. Food was great and also a nice selection of local craft beer.
Joshua Dickey
The atmosphere was great. The bar tender offered advice and experience with the drinks he prepared the food was on par and service was excellent. The ladies that were part of the Song Suffragettes for the night were terrific. If in Nashville again we will definitely be back.
Laura Hensley
Fun experience listening to performers playing their new music. Good food too.
K Leese
Great music venue, nice experience! Music and the story behind the songs
Cheryl Palange
Great setting to watch live music. Had tried Bluebird earlier in the week, but the Listening Room was so much better with 2-3x the space. Enjoyable evening. Would return..
fletcher christian
Great original music. They have a $15 minimum ( food and drink)per person once you go into see a show. A must see on your Nashville trip
A C
OMG lovely place. Good music. They never pack it up with more than necessary crowd. The music is not jarring loud but a pleasant loud where you can listen to everything, walk around freely and sit back and enjoy it. It's a place for upcoming talent I'm told.
Zach Smith
Great venue. Great performances. We really enjoyed stopping in here and listening to 3 talented singer songwriters perform recently. We had dinner, which was also good and hung out for a bit. Tickets were inexpensive & food/drinks were reasonable. Worth a visit for sure and we'll be back, hopefully soon in 2021.
Anthony Gaetano
Great venue.... food was good, music was the beat. Go for the overall music storytelling experience!
T Glover
This place is so much fun. If you have a appreciation for country music and the artist behind the lyrics, you will certainly enjoy this. Menu has good selection. Great time had by all.
Kayleigh Fennema
The Listening Room was a really cool place to visit in Nashville. Although many bars have great bands playing, this place really focuses on the music.
There is a $5 cover charge plus a mandatory $15 dollars to spend on food and drink. You sign up for a time slot and basically get dinner and a show. There were 4 musicians the day we were there, all very talented. The focus is all on the singing, with many reminders to keep talking limited and enjoy the music.
Service was quick and friendly. Our waitress had our drinks and food brought out pretty quick! The food itself was just ok. We ordered fries, chicken tenders, and fried pickles. Their menu didn't have a lot of variety. It was pretty much all fried. I must say though, out of everything the fried pickles were amazing! Really sweet with a hint of heat. The alcohol was ok. We had sangria and a bolo. They were made strong, but didn't seem tasty enough for the price tag.
The experience of the music was great and service was good, I just wish there was more variety on the menu for people who can't do fried food.
Laurie Weathersby
Fun venue! I'll definitely be back.
Scott Meske
Get tickets and GO! Hear the stories behind the songs in an intimate setting. Great food and drink menu. Will definitely visit again.
Robin Weaver
Love listening to music here and watching shows!! Great food!! Great service!!
Edwina Milsted
Everyone needs to visit when in Nashville! We saw Song Suffragettes! Women supporting women! Talent overload! I cried twice the songs were so beautiful! The staff was great with service, too! A great ladt night here for my hubby and I!
S Fradl
Hands down, my favorite part of my trip to Nashville. I wanted to go to Blue Bird after hearing good reviews on it being a place where song writers go to play their music, however, they were closed and after more research, I stumbled across this gem. We booked for JT Harding, Marv Green, and Phil Barton. They were phenomenal and have written many top hit songs. I honestly should have booked tickets for a show every evening because it was that good. Service was also on point from the time you sat down at your table to the time leaving.
BethAnne Whaley
Brunch Saturday was delicious and the performers we're amazing! My bartender and the Sound Engineer did an amazing job handling the food/bev and sound! Love Bose!!!!
Scott Jones
You might miss it if you don’t realize it’s an old repair garage, great family spot. Food was ok but the service was good and the music was very good.
Allison Carl
Such a cool experience! I can't wait to go back next time I visit Nashville. It was so cool hearing the stories behind the songs and how they came to fruition. Great learning about the song writers and their processes too. Absolutely loved it!
Jennifer Johnson
3 artists played and talled and laughed, it was like a comedy show with music. Food was delicious!
S Kersten
Music experience was excellent. Food and service was good, too.
Mike Maneth
Loved the songwriters and the concept. The special guests were amazing too.
Bryce Welborn
Outstanding performances from the super talented songwriters. The venue was provided an intimate experience with real, good country musicians. And the waitstaff was phenomenal (Sarah, our server, made our night especially fun)
Don Patterson
It was my first live music experience at this venue (visiting from out of state) and it was great. The staff here works at a pace hard to imagine, while being very helpful and very accurate. The food was enjoyable, and the music on my particular night was fantastic.
Very easy to recommend to others. Go and enjoy to the fullest.
Dave M.
The music was great. The service was great. The food quality (and quantity) has decreased since I was last here [pre-COVID]. I can't help but wonder, with the impacts of COVID, if they are struggling financially like many eating & entertainment venues. I will be back - the music and atmosphere are worth it even if the food isn't as good as it once was.
Gary F
Built on the premise of the Blue Bird where songwriters trade songs. Come to listen, not talk. What a concept.
dawn rhodes
Best part of my Nashville visit!! Brunch was just as country as the music. Wonderful!
Brian Mooney (mrmelooney)
Intimate music experience with great food and drink... Atmosphere was engaging and acoustics brilliant.
Mike Wang
Very intimate country music experience. Good fries and great music. Make sure to write down who performs to reference later on. And stay after to meet the performers.
Andrea Elliott
The ten dollar cover gave you an amazing opportunity to listen to amazingly talented up and coming musicians. They played for about an hour and a half. I ordered dinner which was delicious and served by an efficient and good humored waiter. A real gem in Nashville.
M M
Awesome experience with great talent! If you truly love music its a great time. The songwriters tell stories about their experiences writing the songs for different famous artists and makes you understand why they wrote those songs!
JayR Kearns
We loved it. Great entertainment while eating a fabulous meal. The concept is great and was deftly pulled off. A great evening!
Desiree Cocco-Costello
Was recommended to try over the Bluebird and WOW! Love the space and our line up was jaw-dropping amazing! Would go back again and again.
J T
Excellent talented singer song writers. Complete the Nashville experience with this venue. Great service, food and entertainment.
April Capps
Great show! We had a fantastic time at the Listening Room Cafe. The online reservation process was easy. The website is very well done and all the information you would need or want is there. There is complimentary valet parking which is a plus!
We took our 10, 14, and 17 year old with us and they all said it was a fun experience. There's no smoking and for the most part it is family friendly. The show is very good and worth going alone!
The food is just okay and nothing to write home about but we didn’t eat anything we absolutely did not like.
Our waiter was just okay and wasn’t super attentive to us. I could tell he was very attentive to the tables around us that ordered alcohol (we only ordered water and some sodas). Even so, we loved the show and would go again when in Nashville! Go see the Song Suffragettes..... They were fantastic!
Denae Carlson
Carolina was the BEST server we have ever had! She was so friendly and made sure we had everything we needed to enjoy the show! She gave us great suggestions and took great care of us!
This was a great venue to enjoy live music with amazing musicians!
Josh H
We went here to watch the person perform in the lobby/bar area. Was charged a cover charge not knowing that if we didn't want to go into the main room, we wouldn't have been charged. We were told there was a $15 minimum for food and drink. We bought 2 burgers and 2 drinks outside the main area. Well that doesn't apply to your minimum. We were never told that. We were however told that if we didn't go into the main area (which we never planned to do) and spend at least $15, we would still be charged for it. We were refused a refund for our tickets even though we explained everything prior to the doors to the main area opening and even though we had already spent over $40 at the bar in the lobby area. So we went in and bought our $15 minimum and left.
Valentina Thaysa Lucas
We really enjoyed the ambiance and the performers were fantastic. The server was good and they were super organized with reservations. I wish I could give the place 5-stars; however, the food was awful. We had an appetizer which was very average, but thought maybe it wasn’t their forte and didn’t think much of it. Then we each got an entree, and neither one of us could eat any of it, a couple bites at best. We sat at a high top (highly recommend it, it was fantastic) and I could see a lot of the people not eating their meals either. The server came and asked if we were done with our food and even though they both were pretty much untouched, she seemed unfazed by this...as in...she’s used to people not eating their meals. I noticed the same from all the other nearby tables with other serves and the people who didn’t eat their meals. We were originally planning on getting dessert, but felt we didn’t want to risk it.
My advice is...yes, go, it was still worth it. Try to eat before hand and just be aware that in addition to your entry ticket, they have a minimum each person has to spend, so try to meet the minimum by ordering some drinks.
Again, some awesome talent. It was our first time there, and the music was excellent.
Frank Russo
Had a fantastic time!
Food is good but the entertainment is outstanding.
Wish Savannah Ga could get a place like this.
Karrigan Shankle
Easily my best experience in Nashville. I’ve traveled here several times, and just found this little gem. The atmosphere is truly unique and personal. 10/10 recommend. This is a must for us now anytime we are in town!
Jeff Sadar
If you go to Nashville, and don't visit here, you missed the boat. This place captures the essence of the city.
Marc Galli
The music and experience was really cool. The artist were incredibly talented. It was really interesting hearing their stories told 1st hand and it gave you a small glimpse into the struggles and work required in the industry. Jordan was a great server. The only bummer was ridiculous $2 for a bottle of water. Really -what a money grab! More than willing to buy alchohol and throw in tips for singers, but paying for water is BS.
Eliana Lamson
Nice little spot. Food was okay, but atmosphere and experience was great. It was nice to sit and listen to the music and listen to the stories the musicians had as well. It's and intimate experience compared to the noisy music of down town. Recommend!
Colleen Morgan
When the artist support each other like the 9/10/21 show, it was magical. The experience was worth every penny. Go if you want authentic Nashville singer song writers
Blair Kjenner
We went to the Listening room. This place is a must see. We watched the song suffragettes which were so good that we decided to stay for the next show.
lukeguitar1
Great music venue and fun crowd. Food was terrible. Plan on eating before you arrive and drink your $15 minimum.
Amy Tormey
Unbelievable talent!!
The best part of my Nashville experience!!!
Joe Loschiavo
Good food and a terrific show.
Isaac Geffers
Venue was and music was great. Not a huge fan of the food selection. Our table was wobbly and there is a 15 dollar minimum order per person
Ryan Locke
Never make a trip to Nashville without stopping here...you'll regret it if you do...
Brian Keegan
Been here twice and was amazing both times! Very intimate experience being so close to the artists who are obviously having a lot of fun! Good food and drinks too. Music is at an appropriate volume too, no earplugs needed like lots of Nashville bars!
Anastasia Ojeda
My boyfriend & I are in town for the week. We were definitely looking to hit the Bluebird up while we were here but tickets were sold out so quickly. I was a little bummed because we wanted to see some live music other than a trip down Broadway. My boyfriend struck gold with this place. We found it online day of & booked 2 tickets. They were $5 each! They do require that you spend minimum $15 per person of F&B during the show. This was fine since we were also going for dinner. This is such a great date night idea.
We got even more lucky to know we were seeing a writers circle of Dallas Wilson, Lainey Wilson, Jackie Lee, & Andy Albert. These were 4 great musicians. We really enjoyed the show. The venue was spacious. The menu was reasonable priced with plenty of options.
We both ordered burgers. I'm knocking a star down because of the burger. It was definitely more burnt than I wanted it to be. We also had a high top table which was a great view of the stage but all the servers were walking in front of us. They were very distracting. Not their fault but wish they would have went behind us or our tables were pushed up.
All in all, we definitely recommend this place & probably will be back this week & in the future to come. Thank you for a great night!
Jane Yackley
Great live shows and songwriters rounds. One of my favorite music venues to take visitors to. There's hasn't been a show I've been to that I haven't liked. The food isn't anything to get really excited about, but the music is the main attraction anyway. A really cool venue and just a few blocks from Broadway.
Duane
If you want a wonderful night out, the Listening Room Cafe is this place. The wife and I went and saw a singer and songwriter show here on a Tuesday evening and it was more than we could of ever imagined or hoped for. Not to mention CHEAP !!!! The show was FANTASTIC !!!! The three male artists were EXCELLENT at singing and songwriting and they all had a great personality with a good since of humor. We only heard original songs and no covers. The Listening Room is a 10 minute walk away from Downtown Broadway and all the drunks, making this p;lace that much more special. I'm only giving 4 stars, coz the food wasn't all that good, but the drinks were the BOMB !!
Dr. Pamela J. Strickland, CPA
A totally unique experience. The folks here have the event down to a science in terms of seating, getting food and drink orders and delivering those orders to patrons - all without disrupting the show. The show is a combination of music, the stories behind the music, conversation and laughs. I would recommend this show to anyone who is in Nashville for a visit. The songwriters and musicians change so the experience will be different from week to week. But go if you can, it is a lot of fun and worth the price.
S Patton
Had an awesome experience at the Listening Room Cafe! We went on 3/14/20 and our friends who were with us got engaged between the first and second set. Chris (owner) was extremely accommodating and it made the entire night super special for us and our friends. The food/drinks were great, the music was awesome. I highly recommend this experience - 10/10.
Stephanie Foley
Incredible experience! My husband and I were looking for somewhere to listen to local, original country music in a laid back setting and this was absolutely perfect. The show was sold out and we did not have tickets but arrived early and were able to get in from the wait list. Way different vibe from Broadway but plenty of time to go there after the show if you are looking for the party scene. I highly recommend!!
Dave Audriana
After several days spent in Nashville, we ended our stay with a visit to the Listening Room, based on a recommendation. We’re so glad we did, because the atmosphere was excellent! A small and intimate venue allowed us to take in the full experience - listening to amazing songwriters both seasoned and up and coming - and enjoying some good grub. We arrived 15 mins before doors opened which allowed us to get a great table. It’s a must do when visiting Nashville!
Rachel Suen
A must visit spot in Nashville! Food was solid but the music was fantastic.
Denis LeBlanc
Excellent music venue, great server staff, dreadful and incompetent kitchen. We eat a plant- based diet and like most music venues in Nashville, the Listening Room is not accommodating. Nothing on the menu without meat or dairy. I ordered the Southwest salad minus the chicken and cheese, but with extra black beans. Salad came without any beans at all. Server checked and they were all out of black beans. What? They sent out the salad anyway, then had the nerve to charge me the full price $14 for basically a bowl of lettuce with a bit of onions and corn. Not impressed :-(
Nate Lotts
Considering we had only heard of the listening room from one of the local musicians playing a bar on Broadway, we could have nearly missed taking in a show and dinner here. This was the best place we visited during our trip to Nashville. The artists were amazing, the setting was very intimate, and the food was some of the best we'd had on our trip. If you go to Nashville, make a reservation (they charge a few dollars per person at the table- I think it was $5 each the night we were there) and see some of the best artists/song writers on the planet. We will be back for sure!

My husband and I LOVE this place. It's the perfect size for the type of music that gets played. The stage is attractive and the acoustics pretty good. The food has always been good, no matter what we get. The service is always friendly. We love that it's a 'listening' room and most people adhere to that requirement, giving the artists the opportunity they deserve to showcase their talent. We go often and will continue to go.
Susan Hill
This was our second trip to The Listening Room in Nashville. The tickets are easy to purchase and print from their very user-friendly website. The venue is large yet intimate. Great menu, drinks and food. The service is personal and the staff are professional and although they are with you before and throughout the show, they do not distract from it. The show is so good, we've seen 2 different groups of artists now, the stories and music are so entertaining. This place was recommended to us by a friend and we've continued to spread the word!

As someone who is not much of a busy, crowded, music seen there were not many "music venues" that I wanted to see in Nashville, and was naturally hesitant. I've never been this wrong in a long time; the Listening Room was Amazing!!!
The Listening Room has story telling, great music, and a relaxed atmosphere with reasonably priced drinks & food to make for a great evening! This is absolutely a place I'd go back to in the future; extremely impressed!
Michael Sokolowski
Fantastic! I highly recommend this place for a show when in Nashville.
Kris Sydorenko
My husband, myself and our 2 daughters + friend (ages 13 & 16) stopped in here on a Monday night. Got there around 6pm. There was no waiting in line to get in. Shout out to our waiter, Paul, he was fantastic. We watched the 6pm show and than stayed for a little of the moonshine & music show. We all absolutely loved it!!! My girls said this was their favorite part of the vacation. The singer/songwriters were fantastic performing. And they came up to the table afterwards and asked what we liked. we also got pics with them. The groups that came on later that evening were also fantastic! Food was good, atmosphere was great, music was wonderful! I highly recommend this place to all ages. We will definitely be back here when we come back to Nashville!!!
Gerylann Arden
What a wonderful place to experience country music up close and personal. The writers showcase was amazing. The stories behind the music added to the whole experience.
The food was very good.
Carolyn Stewart
Came for dinner and show on 3/6/20 and we had a great time!! Our group came for a bachelorette weekend and thought The Listening Room would be a great way to experience Nashville music! The musicians were AMAZING and so entertaining, the service was GREAT and we had so much fun! Our server was so accommodating and helpful and even took our photo on stage after the show! Would highly recommend!
Leonard Handzlik
We went to see Gutfeld at the Listening Room. While we enjoyed the show, we felt the acoustics were only marginal, because we missed quite a bit of the dialog. The drinks were good and not too overpriced. The deep fried pickles were just ok.
The Little Brick House
Our first time there and we were thoroughly impressed with the great entertainment, excellent food, wonderful waitresses and staff. Most of all Eric, the house manager, stood out for his wonderful service and positive attitude. Any manager that jumps in and helps his staff wait and clean tables along with carrying out the trash deserves an A+! We will definitely go back on your next trip to Nashville. I highly recommend it!!

You can see some great Nashville talent here for a reasonable price. I saw The Time Jumpers, a western swing/country/blues band made up of some of the town's top session musicians...including Vince Gill. Excellent show. The venue is located maybe half a mile from The Country Music Hall of Fame, so it would be a great doubleheader. Reservations are advised. And get there really early if a popular band/artist is playing. The place fills up fast.
Kim Altman
Writers round is worth it. Such a cool experience
Dave Denney
Drinks were good service was great.
Had the fries - TERRIBLE! They were cold and tasteless.
Oh well... Music was OK that night.
I will always go back when in Nashville. (Just NO fries)
Nicole Lane
The bartender, Kenny, is a genius. Great recommendations on mixed cocktails. Absolutely, the nicest guy!!!
Jackie Kruk
Food was not great, tasted like everything was cooked in a microwave. But the atmosphere was nice and the musicians were awesome! I'd rather pay money for a ticket to see talent than have a food and drink minimum. I'd recommend eating dinner before you go and having drinks and dessert or an appetizer here to meet the $15 minimum.
Carter Duggan
Want some good food and great music without all the hassle of getting into the Bluebird Cafe (not to knock it)?
The listening room cafe has a large dining room and was really easy to get tickets to.
There is free parking in their lot for customers ($10 for non-customers) and they let us park there about an hour before the show so we could hit Broadway.
They have a nice menu with lots of options. The pricing is a little high but portion sizes are good. The hot chicken is delicious, but even the mild will take your head off.
The music is the real kicker. The talent was excellent and the show was all acoustic.
Definitely a place to check out for a good, hassle-free evening.
Steven Javor
Excellent venue to hear truly strong singer songwriters. Truly great talents and a place I bring visitors to Nashville. Drinks are great, timely and delicious. Dinner on the other hand not so great. Nachos with pulled pork was amateur with a few nachos, some sauce and one piece of pulled pork on top. Not a dish to share. Sandwiches were served fast and on old bread with hard edges and the Mac and Cheese accompanying was not even up to KD standard. Very dry and half heated. I believe they cook in the afternoon and hot plate in the evening. The food could be so much better and make this an awesome all around place Do yourself a favour and eat before you attend or get something after. Save your money for the drinks and entry fee.Free valet parking a plus as well.
Carrie Jeske
In my Top 2 Must Do Nashville venues. Love, Love, Love everything about it.
Jason Bullion
Food was good, but the music was great! My wife and I had never been and weren't sure what to expect, but we loved the venue. Close to the heart of downtown, but away from the parking nightmare of Broadway. We were lucky enough to have a group of 5 songwriters singing their original works the night we went, but I'm sure the quality is top notch any night. The only minus would be the food price/quality. Seemed a bit overpriced, but not so much that we won't be back.
Paul Cicciarelli
Come hear for the music and talented songwriters. The menu is mainly bar food. The smash burger was good, go with a double. Nice selection of beers.
Stephen Pomerantz
Amazing intimate show. Excellent pricing. Good food.
Clint Gordon
I had a less-than-great experience back in 2019. I went back in Jan 2021 and I'm convinced that was an anomaly. I've deleted that review as it certainly does not reflect the level of service you can expect at the Listening Room. I've updated the review to reflect my most recent visit.
Even with the visit I had in 2018, TLR may be the best experience in Nashville. From the show to the food, everything is top notch. Saw Josh Melton and friends and it was amazing! Lindsy, our server, was absolutely fantastic! Bottom line: I can't wait to be back.
Charlie Polenz
This is a great venue. We saw the Song Suffragettes, and they were great. The food is basic, but reasonably priced. They have a pretty good beer selection as well. The complimentary valet is really convenient. Over all, it was a great night and I would definitely return.
Kayla Grayson
One of my favorite venues in town! Love the atmosphere and vibe. You can always count on top notch songwriters playing great songs! The wait staff is very friendly too! Honestly the food is just okay in my opinion and slightly overpriced, but they make up for it with the music and atmosphere.
Tiffany Harder
AMAZING! Great cocktails, beer, food, service, atmosphere & TALENT! The songwriters played their original music & told the stories of how the song came to be. Several had written songs that have been made famous by artists we all love (Garth, Vince, Blake, Brooks & Dunn). We loved it so much we went back for a second night while in town for the weekend!
Tera Wolff
Spent last weekend in Nashville with my daughter. We enjoyed The Listening Room cafe so much on Friday night that we came back on Saturday! Great entertainment & super friendly staff. Dallas was our server and he was great. Highly recommend this place!
Jennifer Ullrich
Edit: I love owners who are proud of their establishments Thank you Chris for your contact. I hope that the next time we are in Nashville we get an opportunity to try again.
Original:
I am sad to post this review. We tried to give the business a chance to fix the issue while we were AT the establishment and again while we were in Nashville (even an acknowledgement of the event would have been acceptable).
My family and I arrived at 4:00pm for an early dinner. We were greeted by the hostess and I had downloaded the menu at 4:05. By 4:30 not one person had come to our table - not for drinks, not to take our order, not to bring us silverware etc. My husband went to speak to the hostess and ask for service - we waited 5 more minutes (timed on my watch) and then walked out.
I really wanted to try this restaurant but I won't be back, nor will I send my friends
Michael Ensminger
Excellent venue for enjoying musicians playing original music. The weekend afternoon sessions are very relaxed. The musicians engage the audience during the shows so it feels very intimate. Great sound too. Brunch was average. A little cold. But the environment more than made up. Bloody Marys were tasty. Great place to hang for a few hours and enjoy music.
Chris Gradone
Went on a Tuesday and it was so good we cancelled our other plans and doubled down to see the 8:30 show as well. 10/10 quality experience across a few genres- was the kind of thing you come to Nashville for
Seung Lee
Tickets were $7 and I had the buffalo wings for $12 which were really good. Right level of heat without being too much and so many wings...I was full. Music was professional level good. Enjoyed the young and journeyman musicians working to make it and sharing their songs and the stories behind it. All were talented and very good performers. Jordan the btender was very friendly, helpful, and quite the cutie to boot. A very enjoyable night out.
chris decker
Great venue, great music. They have a $15 minimum per guest - that is to be spent on food or beverage... maybe just spend it on drinks. The soup and wings were pretty weak, the nachos fair, but the show more than makes up for the food. Would definitely recommend it to everyone.
Melissa Barron
The Listening Room Cafe offers the most intimate and enjoyable brunch experience. The live musicians are incredibly talented and humbled to perform for a small yet attentive audience. The staff is wonderful at accommodating patrons with dietary restrictions, even life-threatening food allergies. I highly recommend making a reservation and prioritizing a visit here if you are in Nashville for a short amount of time.
John Monaghan
Book in advance as this place is busy. Take a walk out here away from Broadway and you'll hear some great singer/songwriters playing their own stuff.
Gabriela Perez
Great place to listen to new artists! The food menu was limited, so we had to go somewhere else after the performances to eat.
James Wolobah
Great country music. One has to book entry online for the live music performance. Visited after 7:30 P.M. local time, and it was parked with guests. There was one server at the bar taking order for drinks and food and was very busy. We waited for long to be served but had to leave as he was just too busy to get to us. I visited the next day at 3:00PM and it had relatively few people and was able to be served cranberry juice and listen to music played from the bar. There were friendly staff. Located closer to downtown, there is valet parking available at night when they are very busy. For strangers, better to use your GPS to find it. Listening Room cafe is known for great country music. Attracts lots of travellers to Nashville. Hope to visit again soon.
Zach Postin
I can’t say enough good things. The quality of staff here is top notch and you WILL ALWAYS hear good music. Janice always makes sure she gets you one of the best seats in the house. Dustin keeps your drinks coming and laughs the entire time. Dannie and Charley keep the customer service at the top of the priority. You can’t go wrong visiting this place while you’re in Nashville!
Taylor Padgett
Great atmosphere! Loved the writers round that we went to. Our server was very attentive! Did not order any food but the bartenders knew what they were doing! Highly recommend catching a show if you are visiting!
Barry Swanson
Can’t beat The Listening Room for live music in Nashville. Great food and drinks! Dare you to find a place with $3 valet parking in downtown. Quick access to I40-be aware 4th Ave is one way Southbound to get to TLR. They have a second bar for after show drinks. There was live music outside next door and a cigar bar on another corner. 😊 Enjoy
Cyril Ferreras
It was an amazing experience listening to the singer/songwriters.
James Rogers
Great venue for live music in Nashville - saw some really good shows. Went on Monday and caught the end of earlier show as we were late coming from dinner and stayed for the later show at 8:30 - both were really good- local musicians in an intimate setting - more singer songwriter type which was different from the broadway bars. We did not have the food as prior reviews suggested not great. My advice is head over to Husk especially Mon- Wed and have the happy hour at downstairs bar before heading over - it’s amazing. The service at listening room was not great. Could barely get a 2nd drink as our waiter went MIA - people had to start complaining to get service. Bar in the front prior to show was better. They ran out of basic drinks like most white wine and there was a $2 up charge for a whiskey nest which I’m hearing is fairly common although my first time coming across it. Go for the music and artists - it is worth it. Taking one star off for the service- really needs improvement.
Michele A
An absolute must if you are in Nashville! The performers were outstanding. They engaged with the audience!
Food was very good.
Jason Gomez
Food was very good. Music was great. Service also very good
Caleb Doerr
Had an amazing time visiting the Listening Room - make sure you purchase tickets online BEFORE you go. Great musicians and friendly, hospitable staff.
Seating will be filled as you arrive with tickets on-hand, but the sights and sounds are good all around.
Purchase minimum for drinks and food is $15.00, so bear that mind when coming out.
Armando C
5 stars for the music which was truly amazing. But the food service was terrible. We waited an hour and a half for our food. I understand it is hard to get food out to such a large crowd at once but there must be a better way that the current system. I strongly recommend you eat before the show. Just order drinks to hit the minimum.
Travis Allison
What an amazing experience! The music was wonderful, the beer brilliant and the food was great.
Robert Diab
I'm giving it 5 stars for the music, the venue and the incredible talent we listened to at the BMI writers series. The food was not good and they have to get better with that. Use your minimum for drinks and get food after. I would say its a must visit if visiting Nashville and you want to connect with the heartbeat of what makes Nashville....well Nashville. Our evening was a memorable one for sure. Hope this helps someone!!
Joyce Jackson
In town from Austin, Texas, and visited The Listening Room for Song Suffragettes. The cocktails and food were good, and the music was great. Like the best places in Austin, the audience went quiet when the music started. This place was all about the music. Highly recommend. I'll be returning to Nashville in June, and will definitely be back.
Lee Sheldon
The entertainment was suberb. Three person main act had personality and lots of talent. All three songwriters who then joined the main act one by one added their performing talents to the stage. Drinks were good. Nachos were okay. And the music? I was smiling the whole night. Great intro to Nashville.
Bill Hilton
One of the best experiences in Nashville. I'd rather see a show at the listening room than any of the larger venues.
Connie Eadie
I love the Listening Room Cafe. The singer/songwriter's that perform there are phenomenal! I am a local and go to shows at least 2 to 3 times per month. The staff is great, the venue is large, the ticket price is perfect, and when the right audience is there, magic can happen at any given show. I saw my first standing ovation in Nashville at this venue. The reason I can't give this venue 5 stars is that although it has the potential to be the biggest game in town, it is totally missing the mark with their menu offerings, pricing, and the silly things they do to "save" money like no longer providing straws. There are no salt & pepper shakers on the table either which is annoying. Listening Room, please listen to one of your biggest fans. Go back to the basics and quit making me pay extra for fries with my $14 burger. Make us want to come back several times a week for not only the best shows but the best food. If you can do that, you will rule downtown Nashville!
Lisa Marvel
LOVE, LOVE, LOVE it!! I moved to Nashville last year and Listening Room is certainly one of my favorite places to go. The atmosphere, staff and entertainment are always on point. Whether you live nearby or are just visiting, definitely check it out. You won't be disappointed!
Josh Cherry
I don't always expect live music venues to have excellent food but they seriously knock it out of the park here. Great atmosphere, amazing food, and super talented musicians. Will definitely be returning 🤙 …
Tom Ruggles
This was the best part of my trip! Entertaining and meaningful. I will come to this place every chance I get.
They have food and drink table service in an intimate setting. Drinks are roughly $10 with GF options.
Tara Pade
The music experience was excellent! Would go back just to hear the talent. However, food and drink service were terrible. Took forever for drinks and then food came 15 minutes before the show ended, Then they proceeded to try to kick us out while we were still finishing our food. Food was also just fair.
Allison Guse
It's my first time in Nashville and I'm so thankful we stopped here for brunch. The live music of new artists hoping to make it was so inspiring. And the food was tasty too.
Something to keep in mind is that in order for everyone to hear the music conversations need to be kept low. We had a loud group by us, so that was unfortunate, but I would definitely recommend to anyone coming to Nashville to stop here.
Steven Roeder
We were there for the Gutfeld! show. We tried the pork nachos and they were great - chips, pork and cheese were a great combo. The pretzel came with two 7-8 inch warm, soft pretzels and queso that had good flavor. Our server Skyla did a great job too.
Dave Dillow
Great venue to see up and coming talent. Not a bad seat in the house. Don't worry about getting there xtra early to get a good seat. Nice drink and food menu. Definitely belongs on the must try list for a Nashville visit.
D Roberts
If you go anywhere in Nashville. You have to go here. Amazing Talent, decent prices (unlike most places), 3-dollar valet parking, good food.
Margot la Rue
This is a must see in Nashville! It is so cool to hear about why songs were written. The atmosphere is great and the food is good.
Gene Haywood
Lots of fun. We had a group of 19 and were well received. Excellent customer service and food. Great entertainment by 4 singer/songwriters. Highly recommended.
Matt Tooley
A great place to hear music in Nashville. We saw two singer-songwriters on Saturday evening, and while only one of them really had music we liked, the whole experience was fun -- a great way to spend a few hours in Nashville (if you like music). The bar was more than adequate, and the facility tried to make sure the audience kept conversation to a minimum during the performance. We'd definitely go back.
Andrea Wetmore
This was a last minute reservation the day after going to the Bluebird Cafe. I don't think I can compare the two as the experiences were completely different, but we LOVED our night here and the food was excellent. Service was great and the music was really good. Would highly recommend going here as part of your Nashville experience!
Carolyn Brynildsen
My husband and I are in our late 20s and have been to the Listening Room on two occasions thus far. We absolutely loved every single one of the artists that we've heard perform there so far, and plan to take out-of-town visitors here at every opportunity. Their beer selection and food are pretty good, and the venue is a great escape from the overrun Broadway bars/clubs.
Paige Filmeck
Every time that I have been to The Listening Room Cafe, it has been a wonderful experience. I have been here three or four times now, usually bringing guests from out of town that are visiting. The songwriters are all so very talented, and it is nice to get to enjoy them in a quiet area where you can sit down and relax. A true Nashville gem! I have never tried the food, but I'm sure it is delicious. The drinks are yummy!
Kayla Thorp
Food is great with some different and fun menu items. Cool venue, nice to hear local songwriters’ music!
Maddy Azdi
Some very very talented people perform there!
Only major bad thing is the 15$ minimum per person policy charge, although you do pay for tickets but still each customer (not table or party) has to pay 15 dollars minimum, if the show is over and there is not an exact $15 charge per person the waiter would literally tell you that he/she would just charge the extra remaining amount "under nothing" to make the total of a sum of at least $15 per person.
Matt Thomson
I was so tired of the noise from my week here. I'm not a huge music guy and definitely not a party guy. A friend suggested the Listening room and it was fantastic. Quiet, great food, good fast service, and the music was awesome. So so good. Really enjoyed the whole experience.
Tony Vessels
The music was great, definitely the highlight of our evening here. But the food is subpar compared to other food in the area, and the service was also pretty subpar. Most people in our group ordered beer or alcoholic drinks, but two of us ordered ice teas that the server forgot to bring. When he was reminded of it, he only brought one and so had to be asked again for another one. They were just in general not very attentive. You would mainly go for the music and atmosphere, which is nice, but the service and food definitely need improvement.
Jen Engberg
I could have gone back to this place every night I was in Nashville. A large group (11) of us went there on a Saturday night. We saw Matt Jenkins, Josh Jenkins, and Justin Wilson. These were three incredibly talented songwriters who sang the hits they wrote, as well as work that has yet to be "cut." We loved listening to the stories behind the songs. At one point on one of the artists had us all tearing up. The food was average, but in all seriousness, who cares? I would sit there and eat fast food. Thanks for a great time!
Ric popp
Review is purely based off the venue and the performances which were amazing.
Had I had to rate the food and wait staff, two stars would be generous. The food was cold and we waited about 25 minutes for our drinks (1 cocktail and 3 fountain drinks). I’d give it another go in the future though hoping this was a one off experience.
Jennifer Gooch
Good experience, lousy food. Was really excited about going here while visiting Nashville, went to the 8:30 show, half the menu was not available. The nacho appetizer was a bunch of dry chips with barely any toppings, maybe four chips were completely covered, they forgot to put my add-on of pulled pork on, but brought it out to me. The brisket sandwich was good but very greasy. The “homemade” cheesecake tasted like a Jell-o no bake cheesecake- but Jell-o is a little better. The cheesecake was just the wrong consistency. The Carmel sauce was ice cream topping, not a homemade Carmel sauce. The show....four artists, all good but Jillian Linklater was amazing and I’m glad we saw her, but it was not worth the $75 I spent on the lousy dinner. Eat somewhere else and buy two drinks here for the $15 minimum.
Cynthia Rust
Went to The Listening Room Café mainly because I could not get into the Bluebird. What a great find!! Had a fantastic time. Great food and drinks, great service (our waiter looked just like Elvis, and was so much fun!!), great music venue. I met and fell in love with Amber's Drive there. That is a great group of musicians, and just fun, nice guys!!
Ken Levinson
Recently in Nashville for a trail lawyer conference and a bunch of us checked out the Listening Room. What a fantastic experience!
The music was first rate. I especially loved hearing the stories behind the songs and about the writing process.
We were lucky enough to see Sammy Arriaga, Riley Thomas and Troy Cartwright. They obviously get along well and enjoy their craft.
Chloe Krolak
One of my favorite experiences during my time in Nashville 💕 will definitely be back to this one! …
Dan Gunter
Great chance to listen live to lesser-known but up and coming musicians. Four artists, all taking turns performing and discussing the origins of their next song. Mandatory minimum bar and food tab per person but the selection and quality were quite nice and the prices somewhat reasonable so that was not a problem at all. A great experience.
Rhesia Lewis
I had a great time at the Listening room. The food was good and the music was amazing. Highly recommend!!
Jeremy Parsons
Absolutely impressive experience. By far my favorite part of Nashville. Singer/songwriters performing their songs in a relatively personal atmosphere. The food and drink were pretty decent as well, but the music was awesome.
Scott
The night we saw Dylan Altman, Brice Long, and Philip White. Honestly words cannot describe what an awesome experience this was. My wife and I got to spend the evening watching music being made by incredible songwriters - they told stories, played off each other, provided impromptu backup vocals and guitar for one another, it was phenomenal. Anyone in Nashville should check it out!
Lesley Sampson
What a wonderful experience. Intimate. Engaging. Just a lovely time hearing stories behind song creations, all while enjoying really yummy brunch. Staff was so kind and talent was lovely. Nice change of pace from the chaos of more busy spots in the city. HIGHLY recommend.
Amy Latsch
My favorite place in Nashville, which is really saying something! We make sure to go here every time we are in town; the music is AWESOME. Love their writer's rounds. Also got to see Ashley McBryde, Jordan Walker, and Jacob Davis as aspiring artists. Select food items are really good, but don't expect much from the drinks. Stick to items indicated as favorites on the menu and you will leave satisfied.
Peggy Askins
You can actually enjoy food, adult beverages, and great music from up and coming new starts and song writers! It's just part of Nashville you should experience!
Tammy Rohrbaugh
This is a great way to hear music in Music City! When you're tired of all the cover bands and volume of Broadway, this place features incredible talent for a really affordable price. Make reservations!!
Google User
Stopped in for dinner and the show last night. The website indicated the show was sold out. We tried to call to inquire if there was a chance of getting in but could not reach anyone by phone. We decided to try it anyway. Fortunately there was plenty of room $7.00 per person to get in. Very nice venue, OK food (they were out of turkey which is in a lot dining option), nice friendly service, and good music. A side note I was traveling with my teenage daughter and found The Listening Room a great place downtown to grab dinner and listen to great music.
Conor Payne
I have heard of the listening room a few times and have a few friends that perform here. Tonight was my first experience enjoying this cafe. The atmosphere is great amd the food is awesome. I ordered the bone in steak and sweet and spicy pickles. Excellent quality food. I will be back!
Tommy Rocco
This food was all fried and unhealthy. We did have a sweet waitress though. I love watching in the rounds, but there were only four people and I didn't think they were that great, to be honest. They seemed like amateurs. And the cherry on top of the night was that I accidentally left my favorite jacket on my chair and I have called them over and over again and have not gotten a response. I guess I need to go in there and ask them if they've seen it. That was my experience at The Listening Room.
David Clarke
Neat little place off the beaten path. Listened to some good music and some apprtizers.
Dustin Barrett
Very cool laid back place to get away from the craziness on Broadway. Decent food, great music.
Hercules Haseotes
Great venue. Excellent acoustics and the talent (on this visit, at least) was amazing. Kenny Foster, Josh Matheny, Jenn Bostic and The Young Fables were all just SO good. The waiter we had was fantastic but the food was just so-so. All in all, this is a great choice if visiting Nashville (or even if you live here).
Hannah Parisi
We made reservations for a bachelorette party. We all drove in from different places; Missouri, Colorado, and New Orleans. When we arrived to The Listening Room on Saturday for our reservation, the entire location was closed for a private event. We were not contacted about it. However, we were given the option to schedule dinner reservations. The Listening Room was amazing. The food was delicious. The songwriters who were there made the night even more special. Thank you, Chris for your hospitality.
Marianne Spain
Great venue for singer/songwriters. So much fun listening to new talent. Hope to hear one of the songs we just heard on the radio someday. But at 2 on a Saturday they still just offered a pitiful brunch menu.
Zachary Templeton
Great venue for music. We enjoyed a great concert. The food is good, not great. If you are there for music and drinks, you'll really enjoy this place. If you want a meal to write home about, you're in the wrong place. I would definitely go again.
Heidi Walkington
Had a wonderful experience with my gal pal. Enjoyed excellent food and drink while there were 4 separate songwriters sharing their music. Anything with the inhouse made ginger beer was absolutely amazing. I recommend for anyone going to Nashville.
Christian Ojeda
What a great little gem we discovered during our trip in Nashville. While in our hotel room searching for a place for dinner, we kept seeing the same BBQ and fried chicken options. We’ve been here for a few days already and wanted something different. We also wanted to hear great live music.
That’s when we learned about the Listening Room. Definitely pay for the show and dinner. You’ll be required to pay $15 per person for F&B, but with the small
Cover charge of the show, it’s well worth it.
The setting is very intimate. Make sure to arrive early, even if you have reservations, just to make sure you get a great spot. My gf and I were fortunate to get a high top right smack in the center back with a great view just for us.
I look forward to returning here next time I’m in town.
Rhett Harris
Great music venue and great menu options. Staff was friendly and subdued while performers were on stage
Patricia Maza
I love this music venue. The Song Suffragettes on Mondays are awesome. It's nice listening to five young female singer/songwriters perform original music individually. The food is a little pricey but very tasty. Make reservations ahead so you can get a table up front.
Rebecca Miller
Great place to see writers rounds and singer song writers. The minimum $$ requirement is the reason I only go once and a while. Gets real pricey.
Julio Molina
Great entertainment. The food was better than expected. Dry rub wings where especially good.
Celeste Barnett
This place is amazing! The General Manager, Penn made our night. We didn’t have tickets and it was our friend’s 60th birthday, Penn came in and saved the day! We will forever be grateful to him for making our night so special! If I had a venue, we would steal him away! The writer’s, the food, the drink, our server Brittany and entire experience was awesome! Thank you to the entire staff!
Thommy Panic
Incredible experience for the entire family. The show was deeply moving as the artists share brutally honest songs. Dinner was equally impressive. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for the complete package to a perfect night out.
Bryan White
The show was excellent, and the food was really good! But unfortunately the service was only so-so (being from upstate NY visiting Nashville for one week, we only came across one place that had the so called "southern hospitality" and this wasn't it). The complimentary valet parking was really nice to have too.
Stewart Gandolf
It’s the music, not the food. But I like it. Different experience from the ordinary. Sad lyrics about girls- but it is ALWAYS the girl!
Gregg Koepke
Love the new venu!!! We have been going to their old location for years. This place has always been the best for laid back live music with top notch songwriters. Can't wait for tin pan South festival ever year. The food quality seems better at the new location. We'll be back!
Holly Lehman
Fantastic place! Super friendly staff, clean and really industrial cool inside. Music performers were terrific and food was great!
Bandits&Spies
Good wait staff and a fun relaxed environment. The performers are quality with original music- some songs you may have heard and some you have not. Wonderful way to start a day for Saturday brunch.

We let the girls play and DID they ever. They were all great, the venue was great and the food was great. Advice-if you going to see Song Suffragettes on Monday night's, order your tickets online early. They sell out.

One of my favorite places to see live music in Nashville. For a venue of its size, it provides an intimate setting that always showcases quality artists and songwriters. From my experience, a great staff that goes out of their way to accommodate guests as well!
Kirtlye Spear
One of the best music venues in Nashville. We went to both sessions of Tin Pan South this evening. The food was fabulous( no bad bar food here) the wait staff great and the music was the best part.
Susan Scott
I was there as part of a convention group so we had a private show with 2 Grammy winning song writers. They were just awesome!! The place is large and it is walking distance from the Omni or downtown area. Definitely plan on going back, taking my husband and any friends that come to Nashville to visit!
Casey Tripp
Fabulous venue and good food. Wonderful to hear songs from the people who wrote them and find out the stories behind the song. This is off the strip so you don't have to listen to the every venue playing the same music. A unique musical experience and not the cookie cutter show meant to attract the most tourists possible.
Ron Bukovich
Very cool place, lots of up and coming talent as well as people who have been around for a long time. Food was good, drinks were cold, waitstaff did a fantastic job.

Attended a celebratory work dinner and evening out with my company, Slalom St. Louis, and could not have enjoyed it more. So many reasons to love this place. The bartenders played an instrumental role in making this experience: exceptionally kind and friendly, lightning fast, patient, and helpful. So helpful, in fact, that I'd be remiss to not call them out by name: Sarah, Morgan and Maris - thank you all for the *exemplary* service! The food, which was served buffet style, was quite good, and the ribs were an absolute standout. The venue is terrific; bar scene up front, and plenty of tables set up around a dance floor and stage in the back, with another bar opposite the stage and dance floor. Truly enjoyed myself.

The music was great. Nice line up of song writers. Would have been really cool if they played a song together, the harmonies would be great. The good was okay and read served really late. We saw the 6pm show and the line to leave and get our car wss really unorganized.
Donna Blalock
We had a great time listening to the 4 guys last night. Their stories and music were a real treat. I would love to go back again. The food was okay.
Nicolás Donadio
Great place and the acoustics are amazing. Food is Ok not great but not bad. Well priced
Jim Maastricht
Book this as soon as you can. Amazing experience. We listened to a group of song writers perform the music they wrote. Most of the songs were #1 hits. Several were just released. You get the stories behind the songs you hear on the radio. Series talent. I don't give out many five stars but this was a big hit with the entire group I traveled with. Highlight of our trip.

Went on a Tuesday night in July to celebrate or anniversary. Service was bad. 5 things listed on the menu between food and drinks were out, basic items, were unavailable. Room was great, seats were great, entertainment was great. So despite the food and service, we would totally go back and would recommend it to friend .

I've been to many shows at The Listening Room. It is honestly one of the better music venues in Nashville. The staff is great and very accommodating. Also the sound in the room is just great. Some venues you visit in Nashville, the acoustics of the room takes away from the show. That is not the case at The Listening Room. For anyone coming in from out of town looking for a great place to catch a show. Check this place out. The atmosphere is one-of-a-kind!
Karen Barrett
Great place if you want to get away from the party scene. Food was okay. Fried pickles were the best. Really nice atmosphere with some great singer/songwriters. Highly recommend for the great experience!

I have loved every one of my visits to The Listening Room Cafe - great atmosphere and always great talent! I only gave them a four star instead of the five because they could use a better recipe for their grilled veggies and hummus, but it's ok. Just ask for salt and have them leave off the added oil, it tasted old both times I ordered it. It's also a really small portion for the price, but it's ok because they validate the valet when you order food. I will be a regular there. The staff are super friendly!

The music was great. The food was terrible. Partially cooked French fries and lukewarm Bbq sandwiches. Ran out of pineapple juice for the drink I ordered so they just served it without. Highly recommend for the music experience but eat before you go and spend the required $15 per person on bottled beer.

If you are an introvert who loves country music, this is not the place. For the 8:30 show on a Friday night the wait is long to get in, and the sound in the waiting area was deafening on a concrete floor with large groups of semi-drunk women cackling at the top of their lungs. This continued into the listening space. Music was pretty good Not great.

What an amazing concept! This place is worth the visit all day everyday! we sat front row to this small venue that put you up front and close with the future of many genres of music. The night we went we had a group of three individuals that sat on stage taking turns telling stories and playing their own songs. They serve food drinks and memories with the inspired, fortunate, and talented future of music. we loved it and everybody that we spoke to did as well. Coincidentally we met a couple that sat in on the show just before us the following night at the Grand ole opry who said they loved it as much as we did. I'd love to bring something like this to Maine!

I can only say I would have gladly paid $20 for the show. It was amazing.
However the food was awful except the fried pickles. Nachos didn't have any cheese on them. Instead they had salad dressing. Chicken soup was no better. Not even sure it was chicken with a little bit of redish liquid in the bowl.
I would definitely go back for the show but forget the food.
Charles McDonald
Fun place for brunch. Finally get to hear local talent play their own music rather than covers.
Would be happy to do it again. "Even better if you bring a big group of friends"

Great night out ! Great stories, great music !

Just came back from a benefit show. Some locals told us about The Listening Room and we are so glad they did. The songwriters/musicians were top notch. If you are in Nashville, this is a must-see.
One negative was that the crowd was very chatty at times during performances to the point of distraction. Not sure if someone said something to them as they quieted down/left after awhile.
Otherwise a very memorable part of our Nashville vacation.
Christine Goll
Absolutely loved the show tonight! Extremely talented musicians and a great atmosphere! Highlight of my trip to Nashville!! Make sure to buy tickets online on their website to be guaranteed a seat at the show (only $5-$10 each!)
Brandon Williams
Great atmosphere, always great music, however, the food could have been a little better. It was good but fairly average in flavor compared to what is out there. I would definitely recommend if you are looking for good music but in a more relaxed environment!
Jake Vellinga
Cool venue with great food. The songwriters that performed were amazing! If you are coming to Nashville to experience Music City, then the Listening Room needs to be on the top of your list of places to visit!
Lisa Willis
Loved the live music and the amazing musicians! Staff was friendly too. A great stop on our long weekend in Nashville!
Mindy Soderlund
I go a lot and I love when a waitress takes the time to get to know you and what you like. Skyela was wonderful and never let me have an empty drink. She took great care of us all!
Lisa Popovsky
This was the BEST thing we did on our trip to Nashville. We didn’t know what to expect but it was so special hearing the song writers play and explain their song. When I go back to Nashville this will be my first stop.
Brady Houkom
Probably one of the coolest things we did in Nashville! The stories were awesome. The songs were awesome. There are lots of people so expect good service but delayed. Very good!
Ingrid Clausen
Best place if what you want is to actually listen to the music. People are super respectful and the place is great!!
Evan Fusco
Good music and bartenders, but a really poor dining experience. We were a large group, so maybe it's not that way all time, but our food was really substandard.
Keoki McCarthy
What an amazing place. I took my wife to a show here for our 20th anniversary and the staff and singers went out of their way to make it one of the most magical moments in our life. We will come to Nashville as often as possible to come spend time with these lovely and talented people.
Loopy Lyle
If you're in Nashville to listen to music this is a required stop during your stay. It's not a honky-tonk bar, it's a quiet sitdown venue for listening to singer-songwriter's audition their best. The menu is relatively simple and the entrées are tasty and reasonably priced. it's not on the main strip so you'll either need to walk a good bit to get there or range for and over. Overall the experience was amazing with some really heartfelt music performed.
Ken Mathis
The performers\writers were excellent.
Dave Milsted
The show was AWESOME, good food, staff was excellent. A g we eat place to he a r new & personal music
Megan Adams
Such a cool experience! First time there. Music was fabulous! Food not so much. Wasn't expecting much and it was just so, so.😔 Service was great, drinks too! Food could use some work, but we're didn't really come for that! Great time! (Would be a 5 if food was better.) …
Adam Martin
Amazing music more than made up for poor food! Recommend eating ahead and spending your quota on drinks. By music alone it's like 6 stars and made for a don't miss memorable experience, but food was pretty bad so don't feel right giving 5 stars overall.
Ellen Ebberwein
Great food and authentic Nashville experience. Fried pickles were the best I've had. Turkey Sandwich and Brussel sprouts were amazing. It's really special to see striving artist be able to sing their own songs with out worrying about having to play covers. Great place for early dinner and pregaming Broadway. Serving staff was super attentive and on top of their game. I'd recommend this to any person coming to Nashville.
Jamie Wilson
Great live music in a cool setting, 10/10 recommend
Cameron Hilt
The performers were very talented and engaging. Service was wonderful with great bloody Mary's, biscuits and gravy, and Nashville hot chicken.

This was such a nice quaint spot. It really made us feel like we were getting the heart of Nashville. We had a beautiful date night. Going to listen to live music with personal jokes during the show and post COVID lock down seating, couldnt have been better anywhere else. This was our favorite night in Nashville. Thank you.
Sherri C
So I'd give it a 4 for the music but 3 for food. We did only try the chicken fingers and fried pickles but both of those were lacking. At the time of this review they require a minimum $15 order on top of the ticket price. This cafe offers music in a smaller more intimate setting.
Clay Mack
My wife and I went in on a lark for a quick drink and discovered the best live music venue since we've been in Nashville. The place is not to loud with great acoustics. Sitting at the bar you can actually have a conversation and we love that. Highly recommended!!
Brandon Trautmann
We saw an excellent show here. The vibe was very mellow and relaxed, food was good, and waitresses were great. I really enjoyed the Black Abbey porter as well. We would have gone back if they had a show on Sunday!
Simon Jansen
Listening in silence with a big audience. The best way to experience beautiful songs and the stories behind them.
Jackson Markham
A great night out, and a perfect "Nashville Experience." Listening Room blows the Bluebird away, and that's the truth.
They do not charge a cover. 1. Because they're genuinely nice people, 2. They know you're going to have such a great time, you'll most likely stay for a drink and/or dinner (yes they serve real food).
Writers from all over country (and some pop) music play their songs (songs you will actually know and like), and you don't have to put up with crazy crowds or annoying cover charges.
