Fantastic staff and food was visiting the area for a long weekend ate here the first day and it was so good we went back 2 more times! The best GF homemade bread and so many healthy choices. We need a franchise location in Memphis or Oxford. Highly recommend.

Their food is delicious + health-conscious. I got the breakfast burrito + matcha latte. So happy I stumbled upon this place while passing through Franklin! They have all diff types of breakfast, lunch, dinner, drinks (caffeinated, non-caffeinated, alcoholic, non-alcoholic), lots of other goods for purchase (packaged snacks, olive oils, fresh veggies) It was quite noisy when I was here on Friday morning/afternoon so not the best place to work if you have calls, but they actually have an area with outlets, etc that is perfect for doing work + another skinnier bar looking outside where you can post up. They also have patio seating.

I finally found the most phenomenal mocha latte! Velvety smooth, frothy, creamy and not acidic by no means. Served in a very large mug. The ultimate in coffee experience. But that’s just the half of it. The dishes are the very idea of comfort food. Rustic and wholesome recipes that put this place on the map. The “General Store” vibe feels the every bit of old Franklin, TN and yet has a modern flair to make one feel at home. Wine and Olive Oil selections are plentiful. Not uncommon to see folks working on laptops or enjoying a book. The restaurant seating is limited due to space. Outdoor seating available on nicer days. The kitchen is in full view of the patrons. One can see all the fresh vegetables and fruits used to make the fabulous dishes here. You owe it to yourself to ask for the mocha latte. My favorite. The breakfast tacos are also delicious.

LOVE this place!! It's definitely on the pricey side, so be prepared for your wallet to feel a little lighter once you've left. But in my humble opinion, it's well worth at least one visit if you're in the area. In the middle of a cross country trip, we made this our first stop before hitting the road again one morning. The avocado toast was insane (see photo of me devouring said toast) and exactly what I needed to start the day on the right foot. We got another menu item that was equally delicious, though I can't recall what it was. Also ordered the chai latte and elderberry steamer (which I believe may be seasonal) which were both just delightful. Every bite and every sip made the freshness and nutrient density of the ingredients here so very obvious. Again, completely worth it.

One of the most loveliest places in Franklin & the QUALITY of food humans should be eating! I’ve been 3 times so far and each time the food has been outstanding! I recommend the make your own pizza. I’ve had others try my combo and it’s been a hit - so if you don’t know what to order try this: Make your own pizza: -Tomato sauce -spinach -grilled onion -mushroom -pepperoni -shredded mozzarella -ricotta *chefs kiss* Also recommend the Mama Alma burger - potato salad & steak tacos. Have more to try. I take my food seriously and this place is it!!! PS heard the coffee is amazing too!

Met the owners through my work and decided to try them out. Super cool market/wine bar/restaurant with a counter order, deliver to table style. Their concept is all organic, all the time. Busy - a good sign - when I got there and was recognized by owner and offered and friendly greeting. Got tomato basil soup and the Herban Smash burger minus pickles (just not a pickle fan) and water - over $20 with a tip. The soup was good - really pale Orange/yellow with not much basil flavor. It was a good soup just not very tomato or basil. But good. The burger was good too. Nice cook, plenty of cheese, house made burger sauce (maybe a touch too much) on a killer bun. This one is hard for me - I’ve met the owners, like them as people and really wanted to give them 5 stars because of it - 4 is fair if a little generous. Here’s the breakdown: Cool concept and vibe +1 star; a tasty burger +1 star; yummy soup +1 star; tons of food options +1 star; genuinely nice people that own it +1 star; good soup that wasn’t tomato basil and very expensive -1 star. I would go back again because it was good and there were other things I wanted to try.

Amazing restaurant with really kind and caring staff. I'm seeing some bad reviews on here and I'm absolutely shocked! Been going to Herban for years and have seen them grow from a small restaurant into what they are today. Really great food and its low stress knowing how much care they put into sourcing healthy and CLEAN ingredients. Not like the other "organic" "healthy" restaurants that use ingredients full of other garbage. Big fan of this place, and the brunch is the best part!

Every single time we visit family in Nashville, we drive 20+ minutes out of our way to stop at Herban Market. The food is incredible- they do not mess around when it comes to quality. Everything is organic, locally sourced, and made in house. The Turkey Melt 2.0 was delicious! The coffee also deserves an honorable mention— very much enjoyed the bold flavor profile.

Initially I was very excited to eat at this place. Awesome vibe. Everything was advertised for quality. My whole family and I ate here and had a very similar experience. Everything was OK. Like it wasn’t bad food, but it wasn’t very good. You looked at it and it looked amazing and then when you started eating it wasn’t that good. Pretty much every dish lacked in flavor or had something a little off. My husband and I paid $50 after tip for the two of us so I had higher hopes for the food itself. If I came back it would probably be for coffee and their little shopping area but I probably wouldn’t get food again. Also apparently the outdoor picnic tables are “reserved for to-go orders”. So that was interesting considering there was nothing anywhere to tell you that.

A small little market with a restaurant and wine bar inside. Absolutely fantastic food, I tried the crispy guac burger and that was fantastic! Probably one of the best burgers in town in my opinion! There's not table side service, you do have to order and then your food will be brought to you. Otherwise, fantastic overall experience from a locally owned place!

Yesterday we purchased a few items and a latte. Alex was our cashier. As he was helping us, Alex quietly informed us that we were in the wrong place in line to checkout. He said just stay here this time, but we would know what to do for future reference. We had been standing next to the counter for a few minutes checking out the flavors of the drinks before we ordered. After a lady picked up her drink, we stepped up and ordered with no one behind us which seemed like the logical thing to do. The other line to our far left had a group of people ordering food while looking at a menu. Wasn’t there another place for ordering “just food” near the baked goods case on the restaurant side? There was no one there at the left register just minutes before. If there is a specific place to stand, Where are the signs that inform you what to do? My question is- is there a right or wrong way to line up at two cash registers that are near each other? My thinking is that you pick wherever you want to checkout just like you’re at a grocery store— which you are! I told Alex I’d never been told that before by anyone the many times we were visiting Herban Market. Perhaps a “ONE Line Only!” sign would help! We were not trying to cut in line and it seemed a bit insulting to us.

Organic restaurant, wine bar, coffee shop, olive oil and balsamic vinegar tasting bar, and grocery market all in one! You can sit indoors, outdoors, or take your food to go. The food and items are carefully sourced and food is great quality. I personally appreciate the macadamia nut milk availability at the coffee bar. The tacos are amazing, salads, pizza, and frozen wine at the bar!

The food is excellent. The owners pour their heart and soul into this market, and it shows. Ingredients for the restaurant, coffee, grocery, and other sundries are thoroughly researched and selected with the greatest care and attention. This of course leads to a quality that is comparable to few and coveted by many.

I love eating at this place when I’m in Franklin. They are super busy, so I’ll order online sometimes to decrease the extended wait time. I WISH they had gluten-free pancakes because I would eat pancakes when I go there. Hopefully they will add it in the future.🙏

First off. We normally LOVE herban. It’s our favorite place to go in Franklin. The food is normally fresh and delicious and most importantly to us, healthy! Yes their prices are above average compared to the average restaurant, but we look past that because we know healthy food is worth it! Today we had a very bad experience. We placed a to go order for my daughters birthday. I had to pick it up and bring it back to urban air. Both of my daughters kids cheeseburgers were so tough and hard my 6 year old could not bite through it. My husbands burger was also VERY tough. I had to help my daughter disassemble her burger so she could consume it. My chorizo burrito on the other hand was excellent! Fresh warm. Their burgers were cold and almost as hard as a rock. It seemed like the burgers were made days ago and barely reheated. My husband didn’t want to make a fuss and go back to the restaurant and complain on our daughters birthday so we didn’t go. I’d be glad to show my credit card statement. Spending $60 on two adults and two kids meals, we expect edible food. We are SO disappointed, especially because we normally love this place so much.

Came here to eat and work with my wife. If you look at the menu before coming you will realize that they are definitely priced higher than most other places. But it is very well worth the price. If you are looking for a place with good food and a good environment I would recommend it here. If you are balling on a budget I would go some where else! Will definitely be coming back.

Literally the best market on the planet... my wife and I grew up in California around amazing health food markets but Herban is a slice of heaven. We love their selection of organic wine and are a huge fan of their coffee, juice and new wine bar!! We've been going through their menu for months and have LOVED everything!! One of the best burgers I've had, great pizza (especially their cauliflower crust) and Cobb salad is packed with protein. Everyone who works there makes you feel like family. We HIGHLY recommend Herban Market and love supporting this family owner business!

A good taco in general can transport you to beautiful places. Our genetics scream taco. The taco is something that we have practically tattooed on our hearts. It can be vegetarian, it can be vegan, it can be protein. It can be expensive. It can be cheap. It can be cold. It can be hot. So I think it's the perfect dish. And fame is not in vain. That is why the concept of the taco is all over the world. Every person who discovers the taco falls in love with it. The taco is folded in such a way that it ends up being a hug to that delicious stew that you are going to taste and it reaches the depths of your heart.

We eat here about 1 to 2 x a week. The last two times we have been here it has NOT been great. Our burgers are overcooked, dry and the buns hard. The time before that the deviled eggs on my salad tasted "bad". VERY disappointing because we've been regulars here for 2 years.

This place is awesome. They have an impressive array of oils and vinegars to choose from. Check it out and go crazy! Also there’s kombucha on tap! It is delightful as it has great flavor without the overpowering vinegar taste. I recommend the Apple flavor :) The staff was super friendly! Amazing store with lots of organic and local options. They also have many infused olive oil that you can get a bottle of that we found tons of uses for. There are also multiple types of Extra Virgin Olive Oil with different robustness to choose. Their kombucha is wonderful and definitely worth it.

Awesome little market and coffee shop. Great selection of local food, produce and gift shop items. It felt like a little farmers market inside. They have a large indoor space on the coffee shop side to hang out or work from. There is also a olive oil tasting section.

The food is great, staff is friendly, but prices are high and waits can be long. I totally get it because naturally made food isn’t supposed to be fast or cheap, but I always have to factor in more money and time if I choose this option. For similar small-batch reasons, things run out (my favorite muffins) or are only served earlier in the day (breakfast). Again, understandable, but still disappointing. My favorites are muffins, tacos, and banana pancakes. All of those are pretty allergy-safe. There are many menu items or modifications that work well for people with allergies. I always trust their allergy care and have never had that end poorly for me. Nothing in the restaurant has soy and many things can become gluten or dairy free.

The best place to eat around this area! It is a bit pricy but because you get great quality organic ingredients in all the food. Its worth the price. All the food is delicious and we got to meet the chef he explained all the details that go into all the plates and sources where his ingredients are from. The place itself is a little crowded and it is always packed! Overall we love eating here everytime we are near Franklin.

Everyone is so friendly, the quality of food is amazing, and it is the only restaurant I know of where everything in there is organic and safe. My personal favorite is the French toast with Bacon on the side, please NEVER get rid of it haha!

The burger here is my favorite. Not left with that heavy greasy feeling and always ensured that the meat is high quality organic grass fed or pasture raised. The avocado toast, banana pancakes, or breakfast burrito are my breakfast/brunch go to. They change the menu up often which is nice for variety. The chicken pot pie and steak quesadilla are some newer options that are delicious and also the price points are reasonable. The one point of feedback are the flys outside, recommend sitting inside.

We go to Herban regularly… like 2-3x a week regularly. Mostly because I’m breastfeeding a baby with many food allergies, and in the Brentwood/Franklin area there aren’t really options that can accommodate us. I also have a high value for good quality, organic food. So basically, we eat at home or we eat at Herban. I’m so grateful to have it as an option. Unfortunately, if I were rating Herban on their consistency alone it would be a 1 star. There is almost always something wrong with our order, which are often pick-up since we have a young baby and can’t be remedied. Be it forgotten toppings (not a big deal, but when you’re paying over $2 for extra meats or eggs or what have you, it’s very frustrating), cinnamon in a drink that was marked “no cinnamon”, sauces left out, unmixed chunks of gf flour in their muffins, and wheat crust on a pizza that was supposed to be gluten free crust. It seems like it’s always something, whether it’s to-go or eating in. Customer service is sometimes iffy- we ordered tacos with extra bacon, they came with no bacon. We asked for it to be added and the server said “how do I know you paid for it though”. She didn’t offer to remedy the situation, or check with the cashier, but left it with my husband to have the cashier tell the server that we did, in fact, pay $2 for extra bacon. Really terrible way to treat a customer. We won’t stop coming here because we love the market, the quality, and the fact that it’s a small business. I’m grateful they stand by their food philosophy, and there are clearly growing pains causing issues that need to be resolved. I’d love to see: the orders be correct at least 90% of the time, the online ordering reflect out of stock items/ingredients, and better customer service/problem solving training for their younger staff.

First off I want to say thank you to the owner that helped my wife to ensure she was safe to eat certain foods since she has an auto immune system called MCAS. He talked to use and his chef to ensure she was safe. Thank you so much for taking the time to do this. My wife had the Wagyu Steak Sandwich but just the meat and onions and I had the Classic Burger with potato salad which was both the best I have ever eaten. Her meal was delicious also. We love the way you guys stand by clean intake which we are big on. We live a couple hours away but we will surely be back when in the area and will recommend it to our friends. I really love Herban Market and their food is great and the staff is very friendly. However, I consistently have issues with wait times when placing to go orders online. Most often I have issues with the food not being ready until at least 10-15 min after the scheduled pick up time. I understand that when they’re busy the wait times can be quite lengthy but today I placed an order at 1:15 and went to the store at 1:30 for my pickup time at 1:45. It wasn’t ready yet which wasn’t a big deal since it wasn’t supposed to be yet. Time kept passing and it was 2pm and my salad was not ready yet. I had to leave to go pick up my kid from daycare and came back at 2:30 to find out that the salad hadn’t even been made and had been completely forgotten about. I understand times are rough especially in the service industry and try to be sensitive to this, but my order should never have been forgotten about. They made my salad in less than five minutes after I came back at 2:30. It also didn’t have everything I had ordered on it (ex. Had Brussels sprouts instead of broccoli). I love their food and I love this place but something clearly needs to change to prevent this from happening again because it’s ridiculous.

Unique spot offering quality food and beverage with a cafe feel. Roam the aisles of market finds while you wait for your coffee. Sit at a sturdy wood table and watch the kitchen make your food through glass windows. I ate the breakfast burrito with a side of potato hash and a golden milk latte with a shot of espresso. Burrito was OUTstanding (house-made pita definitely makes it), potato hash was okay (nothing special, won't be ordering again), and golden milk latte was average but had way too much cinnamon. I wouldn't normally be this picky, but when the bill is $29 for a coffee and a meal for ONE, I feel like I have the right to nitpick. TL;DR nice place, but pricey so choose wisely.

I just have to say what a wonderful experience I had at Herban Market today! Even though I was there during a busy lunch hour, Kayla took the time to make me 3 olive oil and balsamic samplers. She was delightful and thoroughly cleaned all 12 mini bottles. I was getting these for my boss to pass out to her friends for Christmas, so I really appreciated her help! Absolutely delicious. Had trouble deciding what to order! The corn tortillas used on the tacos were the best I’ve ever had. Usually they are dry and fall apart elsewhere but these were great. Smoked sea salt mocha latte was to die for. Very busy at lunch but got there early for “brunch” and got a table!

Went here with my husband for our wedding anniversary. It was our first time there, and we didn’t realize that they didn’t typically serve tables, it was more of an order at the counter style. BUT one of the bartenders offered to serve us anyways. She was great! I ordered the steak and my husband had one of the burgers on the menu and everything came out tasting amazing! I asked for a well-done steak and they cooked it to perfection. The sides that came with the meals were really well done as well. I will definitely be back here, as I hear they also have really great breakfasts!

If I could, I would eat at Herban Market every day for breakfast, lunch, and dinner! This is my favorite place to eat because I know I'm getting the best quality and tastiest food. There is something for everyone on their menu, but my go-to's are their pizzas, chicken salad BLT, cobb salad, and the ATV burger. My only "complaint" is to bring back the Asian slaw burger - it was the best thing ever! Oh and their brunch menu is yum. Also, the people who work there are the sweetest human beings!

WHAT A DREAM. no inflammatory oils, no soy, all organic and the KINDEST owners and employees. my husband and i moved to TN about 8 weeks ago and have been to Herban no less than 45 times. Truly. As someone who is hyper aware of what they put in their body, I couldnt have been more excited to find this gem. When we were looking for houses, my first course of action was to determine how far away said house was from Herban. Deal breaker if it was over a 20 min drive. Any time we (foolishly) try any other restaurant, we inevitably end up talking about how we should just be at Herban instead. My faves? Mama Alma Burger (bacon jam is heavenly), GF blueberry muffin, turkey melt, breakfast tacos and the strawberry pancakes are as delectable as it gets. I adore you Herban Market! xx

When we were there it was very busy. They pack a lot of people inside to stand in line to order food while others constantly excuse themselves through the line to shop for items on the shelves. We had to bus our own table to have a place to sit. The food was good and there are a lot of unique items to purchase but for a relaxing lunch I'll probably be going elsewhere

This is a great place if you like great food and care about what goes in your body. Organic food, local food, grass fed beef, pasture eggs, tons of gluten free options. You don’t have to worry about the quality when you eat here. It is mostly always busy here because the food is great. We usually have one person order while we go find a table, which can be tricky sometimes. I recommend looking at the menu online before you go in so you know what you want. If you want a drink besides water, yea or coffee, go pick one out of the cooler before you order so you don’t have to get back in line to purchase it. The weekend brunch pancakes are amazing, the avocado toast is great, their regular burger is great, Caesar salad is AMAZING, and the pizzas are too. Last year they had a butternut squash apple soup and I literally dream about it. The only thing I’ve had there that I didn’t care for was the bulgogi wrap, but I will attribute that to them having trouble finding staff for awhile after the whole pandemic thing. It’s hard to run a quality, healthy, local establishment in any environment, alone a pandemic, so cut them some slack compared to your favorite chain restaurants if not everything was picture perfect. (Yeah maybe you have to wait for a table or something but big deal.) It’s also great to get groceries here. They sell greener roots farms lettuce which is the best lettuce and it keeps forever because it is so fresh. I recommend picking some up. The owners are nice, staff is always nice. The price of stuff can probably seem a bit much for some, but that’s because the organic ingredients and the quality. Even McDonald’s is like $10 for a meal so a couple dollars more for food that is actually nourishing doesn’t seem expensive to me.

Nice upscale market like a mini Whole Foods with a restaurant, wine bar and coffee. Their prices are a bit high for my liking but they provide good quality. Large patio table area in the front. I don't go in as much as I want to despite living nearby because it's usually a madhouse. Busy is fine but the layout inside leaves minimal room to move around and you're looking for any space to get out of the way once you've ordered. They're better off without the gigantic olive oil/vinegar section which I've never seen anyone use except to taste free samples. Overall friendly staff and clean place. I'd recommend a visit.

What drove my three star rating was that the burgers were cold twice! Not on a busy nights either. Also the burgers were cooked to incorrect temperatures on two separate occasions. I am a growing fan of Lachosa hot sauce and it seems the only place I can find it is at this market. We happened to be passing through, so I made a stop and picked some more up. My son is a huge fan of Nashville Hot Sauce’s Chipotle sauce and since he ran out, it was great to pick up another bottle for him. My wife and I tried some of the olive oil and balsamic vinegar that they have for tasting. There are a ton of flavors and profiles. Some were not my taste, but others were fantastic! None of us are coffee drinkers, so we can’t comment on that. But prices in there little market part are pretty good I was surprised given their location. Seems a little pretentious to me. Definitely will stop by again if I need more hot sauce!

Herban Market is my favorite restaurant in middle TN because I always feel AWESOME [mentally and physically] after eating there. Really can't truthfully say that about many restaurants these days. The food is consistently nutrient-dense + delicious, the atmosphere is warm, inviting, + relaxed, and the staff are always so kind and helpful. Dining in is a treat, but if I don't have time, I just order online (super simple process). I cannot more highly recommend Herban Market! I'm giving 4 stars because I really appreciate Herban Market's commitment to serving fresh, organic food. We need more real food in our lives! I have a sensitivity to sunflower oil, and requested my burger be cooked with olive oil instead. I didn't specify it as an "allergy," so other items of my meal still contained sunflower oil. If you have specific needs, make sure you communicate those at the register. Otherwise, it tasted delicious and one day I may be brave enough to go back and try the pizza.

Herban actually cares to fix their mistakes! I would also like to mention that eating out is a choice. You can not expect your own mother not to ruin at least one meal at some point. Inflation has been a thing for a while now right? These rang up as $4.79 and there was no effort to correct the label, even after I offered to get it for them and bring it to the front. We were visiting Tn this week from Alabama. With all of our trips the first thing I do is seek organic, local eateries. Herban Market caught our attention so it was one of our first stops! It did not disappoint! From the amazing owner to her friendly staff to the select local groceries and finally the food.....oh my.....absolutely some of the BEST meals I’ve ever had! We are humble foodies- meaning, we appreciate good organic food but we are NOT your typical hipster. I am a skilled home chef. So when I state this place impressed me, that says a lot!!! We tried their vegan burger, regular burger, cheesesteak, salads, soups, pizzas and many desserts. Each one was amazing!!! You can taste the love that has been put into their food! You can see the love and passion that has been put into their store. The owner is a very intelligent women who is also very personable and extremely friendly!! Every staff member either asked if they could help or offered a kind smile. I normally have to sacrifice at most restaurants, I sacrifice taste if it’s healthy or sacrifice food morals if it’s unhealthy. Zero sacrifice here. Pure stress free eating that also tastes AMAZING!! The only downside to me, but a blessing for the owner is the crowd! It is packed during lunch hours and parking is a little stressful. Evening seemed a little more relaxed. Even with the crowd though no workers seemed stressed and the meals never suffered!! Thank you thank you thank you for existing and all your blood, sweat and tears that have been poured into your store!! We are most grateful that you care enough about your health and everyone else’s to offer what you do!!

I loved everything about the Herban Market. Passing through town we stopped in and had a great experience from how friendly the employees were to how delicious the food was. We loved it so much we went back a second time before we left town. We tried the salad, daily special and Egg Bowl with lots of amazing toppings. This is one of the best places to eat! I am fully organic and they even offer grass fed meat! Everything here is organic and it is on the pricey side but IT IS WORTH IT! We live 2 and a half hours away in KY from Franklin, TN but it is worth the drive! They also have an organic market inside the restaurant like a tiny whole foods. I always go with my mom there and family and it is literally the only place I will eat at. They also have organic wine and a frozen wine mixer so instead of having a margarita you can get frozen slushie wine ahhhhh!!! *chefs kiss*

There is a very limited grocery section too. Mostly "organic" labeled. But beware, the prices are not supermarket. Three large bottles of vinegar and a couple tomatoes and a bit of fresh ginger was just under $100!

This place is an ABSOLUTE must if you’ve never been! It doesn’t matter what restrictions or diet you’re on, they have something for you! The fact that I don’t have to worry about quality of anything I eat there for me and my family is huge! There’s nowhere else in this area that I have that much confidence in! Lastly, remember the show, “Cheers” where everyone knows your name? That’s this place. Granted, I go in almost daily, but I’ve never walked in without being greeted and taken care of. Asked for an Arugula Pizza, the person on the phone said she didn’t know what that was (even though I was reading it directly from the menu under Signature Pizzas) so ended up getting the pizza she suggested over the phone...Summer Harvest I believe it was called... Showed up and the food still wasn’t started. Waited another 20-25 min for it to finish and then it wasn’t even good tasting! Sad experience. Was hoping for a lot better! We also got the Cobb Salad and that was definitely better than the pizza, but still not super good.

It's so hard to find GF and DF options that aren't completely vegan, but I was able to get salmon tacos that were incredible! And a Paleo brownie. And I was introduced to Reed's Ginger beer. Best Ginger beer I've ever had in my life! I bought a case of it. And the rest of the market items for sale are all things I normally purchase online or from Sprouts. I really wanted to try everything on the menu but I guess I'll have to drive 30+ minutes to visit again soon! I greatly dislike driving to Franklin but Herban Market is worth it!

And, if you have never had an egg cooked in butter infused oil, you are missing out! The breakfast sandwiches are delicious. I get herbs in bulk and always bring in my own coffee cup or mason jar for good coffee and Booch on tap. If you have any question about supplements, protein powder, probiotics, they are the place for you. Every product has been reviewed by the owners and management staff and meets their triple check of approval, you won't go wrong with anything you purchase here. Great Concept, product wise good quality options (local organic), sandwiches are made with cold cuts (processed), service is lacking I had lunch inside at the bar and wasn't offered water nor asked if I wanted anything to drink. My food was set down in front of me Without cutlery or a napkin and while paying When I said, "Thank You" the cashier replied, "yeah". I'll give it another shot because we need more places like Herban Market...hopefully they hire real waitstaff or get some proper training in hospitality. I didn't expect a fine dining experience. Herban Market...from the moment I walked in shortly after they opened their doors for the first time in 2015, I was hooked! When we lived in Franklin, this was my go-to market and I miss it so much! Matt and Ashlea and their crew are so warm and welcoming and the local organic food and produce, huge selection of EVOO and balsamics, bulk foods and spices, kombuchas on tap, awesome fresh smoothies, wide array of products, and the store’s atmosphere are fantastic! I never had the chance to eat a meal from their new organic café, but from what I’ve seen on their Facebook page, it looks amazing. I am so proud of all that Matt and Ashlea have done for their community. They are the real deal in every way! Now, if only they would open a store in Santa Cruz, California...

It's no secret that I absolutely LOVE Herban Market. Like not a little but a lot! Of course I love the amazing olive oil, balsamics, Seeking Health and Nutrigold supplements, the fresh LOCAL produce, the freshly roasted coffee, the kombucha, the Katharos pork sausage, the local pastured soy-feed free eggs, the bulk herbs, Vegan Valley cashew cheese, the Reuben on the most amazing homemade gluten free bread, the breakfast tacos on homemade tortillas, and the Italian in a coconut wrap. Just to name a few... :) But I was really trying to think through what made me want to be there all the time and I figured it out. My children have dietary restrictions and a few lingering health issues that we are in the middle of healing through lifestyle and food. This means that I cook every meal of every day from scratch using only the best ingredients. It takes a tremendous amount of mental and physical energy and it is also very difficult to treat my kids to a special meal out of the home. That is until Herban Market. I have finally found a place where I TRUST the quality and ingredients and the people. I know my children will not be exposed to things that will harm them or set our healing back. Herban Market is a respite for me to not have to cook and do the dishes for a change. And the ability to just stop in and be able to pick something from the menu that everyone can eat is such a blessing. And it is so exciting for my kids to be able to get treats that are fun, taste delicious, and are good for them. Plus, everyone knows their names and makes them feel welcome. Herban makes me feel like a rockstar mom. Sorry for the novel but for those of us that prioritize a healthy lifestyle or have health/dietary needs, this place is a gem. And for the people that aren't quite the crunchy/hippie but just enjoy yummy food and fun unique products, this place is so so so so delicious. And the staff will meet you where you are in your health journey to help you grow one small change at a time.

WEnt here about a month ago looking for locally cultured foods like Kefir, Sauerkraut, kombucha, etc. And was pleased to find they carried the short mountain cultures products and 3 dollars less than the franklin farmers market, so that’s a great deal for me!! They have a lot of great supplements, unique products you wouldn’t even find at Whole Foods. It’s a great size, not overwhelming but I hear they will be expanding soon. Cleanliness- Not so great since the expansion. Dirty tables to eat and tasting tables for vinegar and oil, slow service to cash out, slow on salad line, no one greater us when we walked in. UP-shot...food is great and organic and lots of healthy food options. I went Sunday morning about 11am. And, Sam Greggory (previous review) has a valid point about the website. RESPONSE TO OWNER: Of course, I did let the staff know "at the time" of the lack of cleanliness; that doesn't preclude your business from receiving an above average response. Cleanliness shouldn't occur ONLY during non-peak hours. Sounds more like a management issue of staffing rather than an unusually busy time such as a mad rush because a bus dropped off 40 vegans. :) Try a little humble pie when responding to your constructive criticism; a defensive tone stands out like a sore thumb. Conveniently there is no mention for a solution to slow check out more than once that morning and slow to serve at the salad line.

Three years ago, Herban Market came to our neighborhood and changed our lives. We were already eating and using organic products, but Matt, Ashlea and the Herban Market family took us to an entirely new level of “clean” living. And by doing so, signs of potential health problems completely disappeared. We feel our healthiest and weight struggles... well the pounds are falling off naturally. It is amazing! They do not sell anything in their store that they would not consume themelves. They are a local business that supports other local businesses. I just recently moved to the area and found this place about 4 weeks ago and have been 3 times now! First two times I got a build your own salad; which was so so good! I love that I don't have to worry about what's in the food because everything is made from scratch, most ingredients are organic, they use grass fed beef, etc. Today I went and got the Herban Classic Breakfast and I must say that it was one of the best breakfast meals I've had in a long time!!! I rarely (and I mean rarely) order eggs at a restaurant and have them be really tasty....most restaurants don't salt eggs and they just taste bland. These eggs were so, so, so good!! The steak was flavorful, the potato hash was a great addition and the house made english muffin with house made jam was divine!! This is my new go-to!!! I do wish they had better seating because it is a little discouraging to walk around and walk around unable to find a seat. The space next door looks vacant, though...maybe they'll expand (hint, hint). :)
