Reviews of 417 Union

I have been there for breakfast and they have a pretty vast menu. I went for buttermilk pancakes with bacon. It was good, but not the best I have had as it was a big crumbly. I tried the famous biscuit with gravy. The biscuit was delicious and I had them with jam, as the gravy was not much of my taste. Overall it was a good experience though. The staff is very nice and chatty and the decoration is pretty good. I was disappointed that they only had black coffee.

Tried 417 Union, for breakfast...
First notice was its historical decor that I particularly really loved as a history buff. The restaurant is huge, with two floors, high roofs, and lots of open space. It was comfortable and relaxing, a nice break from the packed out strip area.
Food was extremely good. Some of the better breakfast food I've ever had, and definitely the best breakfast I've had in Nashville.
Prices were reasonable, surprisingly cheap for what we ate.
Customer service was decent enough, but for a place that wasn't super crowded the sense of urgency seemed to be missing, as basically everything from getting seated, too, the food, to checks, was a very slow process.
Go for the fantastic food, prices, and relaxing environment but, make sure you've got plenty of time...

I was visiting Nashville for few days and wanted to try this place for the chicken and waffles. I love to try them every where I go and these were not satisfying at all. The chicken was basically a breaded chicken finger. The chicken was thin and rubbery and there was so much breading you could barely get to the chicken (pictured). The breading did have a good flavor. The waffle had a good flavor and was cooked ok but then they add burnt bacon into the waffle mix. The burnt bacon distracted from the decent flavor of the waffle. I’m giving this place 4 stars because the people were nice and service was good. They probably do other things on the menu much better. Others seemed happy with the pancakes. I would consider going back for something.

We stopped in this morning after a long night out on the strip. We had a short wait before getting seated. The building is old and historic, with tons of photos throughout of history. It was a nice relaxing place. The food was delicious and was exactly what we were looking for. I’d definitely recommend if you’re looking for a homemade southern breakfast. I’ll be stopping in next time I’m in town.

This is a wonderful place for breakfast, a little ways off of printer's alley and right next to the double tree. The atmosphere is great with tons of WW2 era-photos, posters, and pieces of art.
I got the big breakfast which came with 2 eggs, 2 biscuits, ham, sausage, and I swapped out potatoes with grits. Everything was great, especially the biscuits which were provided with gravy and their house-made jam which was delicious.
Our server Mike was very personable and funny, I very much enjoyed my experience here and will have to come back if I stay in Nashville again

Great historic local Nashville place! Amazing breakfast, had the Anthony’s breakfast and chicken and waffles. Jenny was our server and was extremely kind and helpful. Don’t miss this fun place in downtown Nashville!

First time visiting this awesome Brunch spot downtown Nashville. It was indeed delicious and wholesome. As a Travel professional I find great restaurants for my clients to visit once in that city of choice. This is one of the best brunch spots ever to visit.

Delicious breakfast in downtown Nashville! Our waiter Mike was amazing - he remembered our crazy custom order from the another visit day! Food is great, quick service, a very pleasant experience overall.

The food was great! My hubby loves their strawberry cream pancakes! The candied bacon and mimosa are amazing! The customer service was awesome as well! We felt taken care of! 👏 The only thing I think was off is that there’s only one bathroom, it would be great to add another one and the food was pricey. I would still recommend this place, though! Thanks for having us!

Delicious breakfast joint. Me and wife went on Easter Sunday worried we wouldn’t get in and about parking downtown. These were not issues plenty of street parking on the weekend and only had to wait 15 min and they were busy. Our waiter Mike was on point didn’t write anything down and didn’t need to, drinks were never half full, food came out fast. I went here to get prime rib hash but they were sold out, however this just let me know how good it must be because our substitute orders did not disappoint. Homemade jelly outstanding, biscuits fresh and light, hashbrowns are worth going for(you Do Not need ketchup on them), wife bagel with fresh cream cheese was awesome!

When i say this place was amazing I mean it was amazing. Super fun decore! The staff is friendly, seems to communicate well, and super attentive with out checking in every 2 sec. Seated rigbt away and service is quick even though they were busy. Smiles everywhere. Mike c. Was our waiter and he was amazing. Gave us the story behind the food we ordered and the Dad jokes where great! We have the Rachel's special but with sausage instead of salami and the steak chilaquiles and my God it was amazing. The steak was tender, the flavors amazing. The bagel with bourbon cheese tomatoes and capers was an awesome combination. We will be rave about this meal to everyone for a long time to come!
Linda Varnadore
I ordered the chilaquiles amazing.
Too many taco shells. my friend had the Rachel's favorite..
She also had the biscuit instead of a bagel with the homemade jam.. the homemade jam was amazing.
Also ordered the candid bacon and the spices bloody mary...
Olivia the best waitress in the world..
I will defiantly will come here again.

Was in town for the Bengals Titans game (as a bengals fan) looking for a good brunch spot. Open table said no tables available, but we figured we would pop our heads in to see if we would get lucky. We were indeed lucky. Seated right away, and the service is super efficient and friendly! I went with the breakfast sandwich 4/5 could use a bit of spice or Chipotle sauce, but still delish. The star of the table was the banana foster pancakes! All of our food was great. The bloody Mary, while tasty, was a bit over priced. But you're in basically downtown Nashville. Overall, highly recommend.

Five stars
For food taste. Group of four was seated promptly. More than i like to spend for breakfast. I could take or leave the decor.
alexis olson
Our group ate breakfast here two days in a row and it was awesome! I highly recommend this cafe for their amazing food and the service went above and beyond. Alex, Lindsey, and Randy took care of our entire group like we were family! Next time we are in Nashville, this will definitely be a must! Thanks again to the 417 crew!
Darrell Holtsclaw
Excellent food and service as well. I had a Bushwhacker Iced Coffee to drink, and Chicken and Waffles to eat. It was my first trip to Nashville and I will definitely be stopping by when I take my next trip!
JJ Brown
May be the best pancakes Ive had! I dont know what kind of batter they use buy my Gawd. I wish I could give this place 6 stars. Alex really took care of us and was very attentive. We will be back.
Danielle Reel
Alex was a fantastic and super friendly server with personality. This drinks and food were amazing. Highly recommend the bananas foster pancakes and bushwhacker!

We just arrived in Nashville after an early flight and had a wonderful breakfast. Alex M was our server. Gave us menu ideas and great service. I had the ham and eggs and a side of the lemon blueberry pancakes. Everything was delicious but the lemon blueberry pancake was my favorite!
Melissa Dielen
What a wonderful place to get breakfast! The food is so tasty we ended up having breakfast here twice during our 4 day stay in Nashville. Everything is fresh and either homemade or comes from a local farm/producer. Their biscuits are buttery and soft, served with whipped butter, a white gravy, and homemade jam. The jam is so good that I had to buy a jar to bring back to Wisconsin. I highly recommend the breakfast sandwich, or the chicken and waffles. Both were incredible. Will definitely come back next time I'm in Nashville.
Nicole
Giving 5 stars is rare for me but I enjoyed my pancakes!! Literally mouthwatering good
There’s no options for anyone that’s vegetarian though so that’s a deduction for me.
Joshua Beitler
We went here on a recommendation for brunch and it did not disappoint! HUGE portions, delicious food, great service and all very reasonably priced. Should note that in this county you can get mimosas until after 10a, so brunchers beware! (Not 417 Unions fault, just a local law)
Gloria Ornelaz-Sandoval
Great place, loved all the art on the walls and history. Service was phenomenal, our cups stayed full. Attentive server making sure we were satisfied with our meal. Great food!
George Livingston IV
Pretty good experience. We were seated fast. The food came to us cool but was good still overall.
Kathy Reeves
Went with friends for pre TPAC brunch. Amazing..food, service and ambience. Cannot wait to go again. The 3 of us are raving. The Hash, pancakes, biscuits and bacon were delicious and perfection. We each had the Bloody Mary...and it is a winner. Ayla was our friendly server...so attentive and gave us great recommendations! A most memorable brunch!! Oh......love the historic decor with Military history..will spend more time next visit looking at more!!

Cute, quaint little old place on Union. Very laid back and personable.
Had a 25min wait on a Sunday before 12.
Small menu but looks delicious. I had the 2 pancake egg and meat combo. My husband had country fried steak. It was delicious!! He raved about the raspberry jam. Lindsey was a great server. Definitely recommend if you want low key.
Lagene Lee
Delicious historic restaurant in downtown Nashville! Serves breakfast, lunch , & dinner daily! How do they do that? Room for larger groups upstairs. Yummy!!
Guinnevere Philipp
Our server Mike was attentive, kind and charming. We had the Courtney’s Favorite and the Chicken Breakfast. Everything was fresh, hot and delicious! Great brunch comfort food. The house jam was perfect. Will definitely come back when we make our yearly Nashville trip!

My server Iris was absolutely amazing at making me and my daughter feel welcome. The food was okay...potatoes aren't seasoned and the sausage is off-tasting (i think it's the brand), but the pancakes and eggs were good! The three stars are for the hair that was in my daughter's potatoes. The manager made it right immediately and was very friendly and understanding. Very warm atmosphere with a home-town feel.
Marcus Kerridge-McColl
We spent most mornings of our holiday here for breakfast. What an amazing place. The staff are amazing especially Olivia who waited on us a good few times. The food is fantastic. If you are in Nashville you must go and eat here. We will be back. With love from the UK 🇬🇧. Thank you for making our stay extra special.
Kelli Cox
Amazing food!! Definitely recommend the chicken and waffles, lemon blueberry pancakes and the hash browns !! Amazing customer service
: seated right away, food with 10 minutes of order, regularly checked on and very humorous!! Great mom & pop homey vibes!
Jeff Walker
Great service, great food! The Bloody Mary is the best I’ve ever had. Have Alex wait on you, he did great - here is the tray of Blood Mary’s he graced us with!!
Jason McKenzie
Fair warning, I’m making this after 2 Jack Daniel’s Wake Up Call drinks…
This place is awesome. Whether you want something traditional or something a little different, they have it here. Atmosphere, food, drinks, and service were all on point. I ordered “Courtney’s Favorite.” I don’t know who Courtney is, but she has great taste! Thanks Courtney! Strongly recommend… it’s worth the wait!
Hayley
I always have an amazing experience, and the food is always amazing. Today my service and food was spectacular! Olivia is by far my favorite server here and I recommend asking for her, she is the perfect description of southern hospitality. And so kind and funny! One of the many reasons I’ll keep on coming back :)
Carlanda Oates
This was a cute place that reminded me of being at grandma's house. We were pleasantly greeted upon entering and the host sat us down immediately. Our waitress was great and made sure everything tasted great when our food arrived. I had the buttermilk pancakes with bacon, my partner had the "Courtney's special" and both meals came out hot and tasty. I will definitely be back to try something different.
April Sanders
We absolutely loved brunch here. It's a pro military eatery...very vintage feeling and had the best wwii Era music playing
The food was fantastic... grilled prime rib with onions and peppers with eggs on top and biscuit with homemade jam. Yum!
The service was so good!
Will definitely return... best meal I had the entire weekend in Nashville!
Hannah Pahnke
Absolutely amazing experience all around!!
We stopped for breakfast and loved the atmosphere of this beautiful, historic building! The staff and service were fantastic and made it a truly enjoyable experience. The food was so delicious and we savored every bite.
Atmosphere, service, food. All just amazing!

I come here pretty regularly because it is a solid place to get breakfast on the weekends. They have great breakfast cocktails if you need a little hair of the dog. I stick to the steak and eggs usually but their country boy breakfast is a great sampler if you want a little of everything. The staff that work here though is what separates this place from the competition.

An absolute must try spot nestled on Union Street. I travel a lot, and this place by far has the most amazing steak chilaquiles I have ever had!! Apparently the steak marinades for days before being slow cooked 🤤 the pancakes are spot on and you can feel the fluff. And their JAM!! You must try their jam, they sell it up front too! This place is officially on my return roster 🍽️
Amryn McGinley
Our server Mike was genuinely one of the nicest people! he was very accommodating and funny, had great recommendations and was very attentive. the food was all delicious, especially the jam. All of the meals were HUGE, definitely good value for money. Definitely will come back!

Visited during thanksgiving weekend. We were looking for a place to have breakfast and saw they had good reviews, and now i can attest to it. Their food was great, and the staff/server were excellent! It was very busy the weekend we went so I would suggest an early visit if you are also there during a holiday weekend. Would recommend!
Derek Cook
This is the best meal we had in Nashville, and we found it on our last day. It is a must try, at least for breakfast
Beverly Turner
The food is flavorful and the best breakfast in Nashville. The atmosphere is cozy and service by Olivia was outstanding. Bagel with salmon potatoes was plentiful and delicious. Great experience
Michael Poulos
A wonderful Breakfast spot in the city. Highly recommend. I had the most perfect scrambled eggs I have ever had. The server was really good. This place has alot History on the walls. Pancakes, prime rib hash also a big hit.
Lawrence Smith
The best breakfast in Nashville. We ate there every day during our stay. There's always a wait, but we never waited more than fifteen minutes for a table. Staff is very friendly, food is exceptional.
Stephanie Rutterbush
This place is totally worth a trip! Excellent service - the food was amazing. I had the chillaquilles...🤤. We split the lemon blueberry pancakes which were delightful. Would definitely go again
Michael Tritthart
So good! The breakfast was very well done. Get the biscuits!! Love love love the History shown on both floors.
Brenda K
Wonderful experience from start to finish! Alex made the brunch so fun! The owner respects & knows his history. Drinks are wonderful & the food was FANTASTIC!
Emily Polgardi
Wonderful breakfast and great service - but might I recommend you pay with cash? I had over $1,000 in charges made to my card for my $19 pancake breakfast. Don't get me wrong, they were awesome pancakes - just not 1k good.
Alana Hughes
The blueberry lemon pancakes were so good! Also our waiter was awesome he was very helpful with the menu and had a great personality! Definitely will come back next time we are in town!
Charley Schumaker
The hostess (Sarah) was amazing, our server (Olivia) was phenomenal, and the food was awesome. My fiancé got the Omelet 417, I had the Big Country and we ordered the lemon blueberry pancakes to because we could lol
All were superb!
Fatt Hon Yong
The vibe was great. I ordered the prime rib hash and felt it was over salted. Had to mix in the biscuit and berry jam to compensate.
John Sanders
Excellent Chicken and Waffles...the waffle had a great flavor and was cooked to perfection!! The chicken was excellent and cooked perfectly also...it a fantastic batter that went excellent with the waffle and syrup...I added a little hot sauce to the chicken and that made this some of the best chicken and Waffles I've ever ate!!! Excellent attentive service from the waiter who made sure my coke stayed full and checked on me several times...can't say enough!!!
Jessie Shaw
Best pancakes I've ever had, this place is amazing! Our server, JackAss (mike), was very attentive and nice. The vibes are immaculate 👌

Thanks Olivia and Randy for your fabulous hospitality. I'm from Canada and was looking to try a good Southern breakfast. Loved the Country fried steak and Anthony Special.
Alice Wang
This review is for prime rib hash only - the slow stewed prime rib is juicy and flavorful, easily 5 stars. The fried eggs are made to perfection. Price is reasonable for the quality and quantity ($16). Awesome staff.
I felt I had breakfast in a museum! The wall pictures of stories in who lived through wars remind us how fortunate we are today.
The wall murals outside the restaurant are also beautiful and excellent for unique photo opportunities.
Military and first responders receive 15% discount based on the restaurant website (on the door it says 10%).

Good spot for a recovery breakfast in Nashville. Prompt and polite service. A classic breakfast setting. Very good.

My first meal in Nashville and I must say I enjoyed it...Wasn't particularly excited about the grits but my server Kaitlyn was like the nicest person ever. I think even if the food and drink sucked she wud have been enough for the 4 star rating!!!!!
Jeff Perez
Amazing pancakes and chicken, omg so good. The service is 10/10, candied bacon not what I expected but still tasty.
Jackie lipke
Amazing food, amazing atmosphere this place is a must pancakes are amazing service was fantastic mike was so great we went here every morning for breakfast for my birthday weekend. And we are from Indiana 5 stars all the way!!! See you next year!!! Always ask for Mike guys he's awesome

As a vegetarian, this menu is a little tricky. There are VERY FEW meat free items available. The whole "just take the meat off" argument falls short when you have to pay the same price but get less options. That being said... If you get a little creative here (it'll cost ya though) there is some seriously good food! We had fried pickles had a crisp buttery deliciousness I couldn't get enough of! I got creative on a grilled cheese and asked for fried green tomatoes on it. Holy Captain Hook, it was awesome. I highly recommend giving it a try. I'm going back for sure!! Veg substitutions are a bit pricey but most southern vegetarians are used to being price gouged for being "different".

As soon as I walked in I was greeted nicely and received updates on the wait time. Our waiter Mike was phenomenal. Food was great!

Breakfast is a big deal in Nashville! So skip the standard, overpriced hotel fare and check out a local eatery, like 417 Union. It is a funky, vintage space with rustic southern cuisine.
A small menu so not matter what you order, it is handcrafted and a specialty. I highly recommend getting a side of biscuits to share- they are amazing fluffy and dense a the same time. Perfectly crumbling and melting in your mouth! I opted for pancakes- I wasn't up for their house special of chicken and waffles or steak hash. They were perfectly cooked and accompanied by a plate or well done bacon and house made syrup.
If you have a cup of tea- know that it is also a house blend. Or you can pick from a big list of breakfast cocktails. The waiter didn't blink when the young people at the next table were ordering beer at 9am.
If you are down Broadway, make a point to stop for a meal, you won't be disappointed. 417 Union is a Nashville gem.

It is a nice place for a good breakfast. The service was very friendly and good. The food was fine, and the banana pudding was superrrr delicious.
