Really good food and affordable. The waiter we had was really attentive and came around frequently to check on us. Only complaint is he didn't give us quite enough time to look at the menu but he was still great. Delicious pancakes and eggs Benedict!

For simple diner food, this is the spot!!! Recently went here twice and got the Caramel Apple Crisp Waffle both times and it did not disappoint. This particular waffle will smack your sweet tastebuds and land you a visit for flavortown for sure! I also got a plate of waffle fries to share as we also needed to get schmacked with a savory component. The cookies & cream shake is also sososososo good! Thinking of getting a shake? I really suggest the cookies & cream. Best of all was our very nice waitress Lisabeth. You’re a lucky star if you get her as your server because she’s so kind and sweet! My friend and I got a shake to share and she even put it in two different cups for us which was a nice extra step for her to do! On this visit, my friend got a plain waffle with some bacon and he was pleasantly content. First time I brought him there he got the chocolate chip cookie dough pancakes and was on cloud 9. Only complaint was that pancakes were too much, bur honestly that’s the best issue to have. A good consistent spot to get some tasty dishes.

Service was wonderful - they were also willing to serve the pancakes the same way as the caramel apple waffle entree! I love the kamikaze style French toast too. Eggs were cooked well and my friend enjoyed his first time here too! Great walkable location - we were able to get seated right away too.

Wonderful hometown diner. Though busy we were given great service. The food was delicious and quickly came out. They clean up quickly. It's a busy place for breakfast so you may have to wait for a table to open up. We will definitely be back to try other things

Very busy when we went on a Sunday. One thing that bugs me most about restaurants is when they don't come around and refill your water. That's really the only reason this review isn't 4 stars. The food was very filling though and solid breakfast quality. I ordered the biscuits and gravy.

Great place for some breakfast. Got a combo meal with eggs, bacon and pancakes. Pancakes were amazing and HUGE. The food was really good and service was nice too. Prices are a little high for breakfast at $15+ a plate but not outrageous. Docked a star because there was a “surplus surplus” added to our receipt for a few dollars. When we asked our server she said the owner added it on. It’s not enjoyable to have extra money added to your tab and not know what it is. If it is due to inflation then I would rather the menu prices reflect that instead of a random charge.

Solid diner in a prime location. I would say they do sweet entrées better than savory, but you really can't go wrong. One caveat though is that their closing time is different for dining-in than for order pickup, and Google hasn't figured that out. Phone ahead.

An Uptown staple, and a MUST GO for anyone passing through the Uptown area. Decided to go here at around 1AM and was pleasantly surprised to find they were still open. Open to 11PM most nights, and 24hours on weekends, but this place is good for more than just a late night snack. Whether it's breakfast, lunch, or dinner, you're sure to find something to satisfy your craving. You'll find a wide variety of selections, from basic to more exquisite. Being one of the few late night options in the area, it can get a bit busy, so be prepared to wait. But the food here is definitely worth it!

Same owner as Louisiana in St Paul, similar menu. Our server was super friendly, the breakfast was generous and delicious and the view (bustling Hennepin Ave) is engaging. What more could you ask for? Oh yeah, you can go in the middle of the night Thursday through Saturday. That too 🙂

This is a diner. It's not overly commercialized, it's not a franchise, and the people who work here aren't robots. The food is greasy and filling (in the best way), the coffee is strong, and the check is reasonable. If you're locked out of your place and your POS roommate broke their phone and isn't home, you can hang out there as long as you need to. They'll even lend you a phone charger if you ask nicely.

Perfect diner atmosphere! Coffee was topped off hot three entire time, food was fast and delicious and nobody judged me for dining alone. Great place to chill and write, get stuff done while sipping a cup and snacking on pie. It's on busy Hennepin, but they've got an actual big parking lot; huge plus on a frozen day.

I used to love this place but I had a party of 12 ready to eat at about 9:15 pm. On a Saturday night But we were informed they stopped seating and were only taking to go orders. So we had to take our dinner party to Soho cafe. I'm not pleased with the new hours.

Me and the misses stopped for breakfast. She had a waffle and I had eggs, bacon, hash brown, toast. We split the hash browns. We barely got our order in and our food was served. Never had service so fast. The food was delicious and staff were pleasant. This will definitely be in our rotation.

This newer location is great. The service and food is top notch. This was my second visit since this location opened. My order wasn’t completely cooked to order this time, but fine after they fixed it. Overall a good place for some comfort food!

A go-to for late-night breakfast food after drinks in the uptown area. But for those who go to sleep at a normal time, Uptown Diner is a cozy eatery for hearty comfort food. Servings are generous, and more than I can stomach in a single sitting. My last visit I had the tex mex..Or at least half of it. I ended up bringing the other half home to eat for dinner later that day. Friendly service, and a great choice to bring family and friends.

I discovered this placed while taking my cat to the vet.. The first time I saw it.. I thought it was a regular place... But after i tried the food.. It was a place that I definitely needed to come back.. The hash browns are amazing... I usually get steak and eggs and they are perfect.. The restaurant brings me back to the 90s.. I had not stopped in this diner in several years and was in the area this past weekend. So glad I did. My server was lovely and very friendly. The crabcakes benedict was so yummy and the serving was so huge that I barely finshed half. I saved the rest for breakfast the next day. 😊 I can't quite call this a "greasy spoon" diner, but not upscale either. It is somewhere comfortably in between. There is definitely a flair to this place and it has character. I loved it and would recommend a visit when you're in the area.

Holy cow, this was amazing. Really delicious and creative breakfasts, cozy diner atmosphere, and great service makes this a must visit. I had the Cajun breakfast and it was phenomenal, though not for the faint of heart, it is very hefty. Prices are reasonable, coffee is pretty great, and the seats are comfy, would definitely come here again.

Uptown diner never disappoints. I dug into my cajun Benedict before I remembered to take a pic. It was nicely spicy, as promised. The only sad point was that we had plans all day so I couldn’t take leftovers. The price is on the high side but with plenty of delicious food.

What a great place! Cozy vibes, cool art, clean seating (we saw tables swiped and squeaky clean minutes after someone left so they really stay on top of things), and sneeze guards up between booths as an extra bonus! Staff stayed masked and friendly, the people genuinely seem to enjoy being here as a team and as a staff. This is classic diner food at its very best. My fiancé and I got the country fried steak and it’s the best we’ve had. The coffee is a solid cup of Joe and piping hot, the food was filling and delicious without being overly greasy or painfully salty, and the selection overall is great. Definitely recommend for an early dinner when it’s quiet but even when it’s busy it’s a nice place to be and hear people chatter.

Whenever I come here for brunch it is always packed and normally have to wait for 10-15 mins to be seated but the food here is worth it. I have been here numerous times and this is my favorite brunch spot! The staff is commendable too.

My first meal in Minneapolis when I visited for the first time in 2013, and a perennial favorite in the neighborhood now that I live here. I'm from Milwaukee, which has its own brand of 24-hour Greek family diners, with everything on the menu, and breakfast all day. This is the closest thing I have found in Minneapolis to that style of restaurant, and they even have a gyros omelet. Can be a little bit pricey, but the portion sizes more than compensate.

In my maddening quest to find the perfect diner, there are three categories I score diners on. These categories are: 1. Hours (if a diner is open 24 hours a day, they score full points - if they close at 2 PM, they get a point deduction.) 2. Diner aesthetic (Some diners, while amazing, just don't have the right aesthetic - they feel more like a family restaurant or random spot that sells food.) 3. Quality and Portions of food I like to joke that every diner is "pick two." You'll have a great place that's open late but overcharges on food, or has huge heaps of food at 3 AM but just feels weird, or somewhere that's everything you want but closes by 3 on a Saturday. You can't have it all. And then, I found this spot. I learned the truth: You can have it all. This place has STELLAR hours. Open 24 hours a day on weekends, and 7-10 on weekdays is still pretty hecking good. Coming off of COVIDtimes and with staffing being an issue, I'm surprised their hours are that amazing. The place is quintessential diner. Booths, counter, open kitchen, open windows, and it blends the uptown feel as well. And best of all - the food is really good, reasonably priced, with ENORMOUS portions. I swear they gave my partner two meals for 14$. On one plate. I have no words for that. Oh! And they have free parking. In uptown. Which is just - I can't - yeah, I really like this place. I'm gonna be back.

Went for breakfast with my son, ordered the chicken fried steak. The steak was prepared well but they are skimping on the gravy portion compared to what it used to be. My son ordered the classic eggs Benedict, his eggs were over cooked, more like hard boiled than poached & his hash browns were under cooked. All being said it was a disappointment compared to what it used to be like a few years ago

Uptown has everything that you would expect from your local diner. The highlighted menu options are their unique twists on American classics. It's a higher end diner, so expect to spend $20.00 a person, however it is worth it once you see the portions served. Had the biscuits and gravy, and one of the burger and fries options the last couple times here. And they are open 24 hours a day. Due to COVID and staff shortage the dine-in option may be restricted to certain times, carry out and a third party delivery service are available during these times. Hope you enjoy this spot as much as I have.

We were the only ones there so we were seated and were served quickly with friendly service My daughter had the French toast and egg meal, and I had the hamburger…And they were GOOD. The hamburger was flavorful, juicy, and a lot…I couldn’t finish it all. My daughter said her French toast was the best she’s had. We’ll be back!

Holy large plate of delicious food!!! Mike got the Tex-Mex and I got the Minnesota Biscuits and Gravy. Huge amount of food! Be prepared to go walk 26 miles after this meal. The staff was perfect. A great diner for brunch. Go here!

This is one of those places you wouldn't think would have amazing food but it really does! Wow! I can't say enough about this place! If you want a great breakfast, this is where you need to go. Can’t believe this place was open on NYE—gotta give it up for the hardworking crew in there churning out orders back to back!! If no dine-in is available, I recommend you order via a mobile app to get your food faster. I was pleasantly surprised the Cuban sandwich was bomb, usually the pork is dry/no seasoning, but someone in the back knows what’s up.

This is a wonderful place to go. The food is very filling and the portions are very large. The apple cinnamon waffles had two full apples worth of cinnamon slices and looked amazing. The chocolate chip cookie dough pancakes were the size of the plate. You can upgrade your pancakes and waffles to have sides for a reasonable price. . I would highly recommend. They also have well crafted malts.

We had a great lunch, not having visited since before the pandemic. The food was quite excellent. I had a Philly Steak sandwich that was about as good as they come. The bread they used was particularly good. I had sweet potato tots on the side, and they were cooked perfectly. My party ordered hamburgers which were also nicely done, along with waffle fries. What was also impressive was how clean everything was, and they clearly were taking COVID precautions seriously. Before being seated we were asked to write our name and phone number, in case any contact tracing would be required. Also, it looked like they had done some remodeling with new flooring and upholstery everywhere. It was a nice experience with great food, and being in a place that clearly cares about their staff and customers. Nice job Uptown Diner!

This was our first visit. I had the country fried steak breakfast and it was really good. The hash browns were made from fresh potatoes - so good. Service was quick and attentive. It was not very crowded at 8am on Friday for breakfast. Would definitely visit again.

This is a cool spot but make no mistake, it's not the old Uptown Diner vibe at all. The food is good, service is good, but everything is "sanitized" and I don't mean in a COVID way. The character and dive feel of the old Uptown has been replaced with a shiny joint acceptable to the 'burbs crowd. It may be unfair to level this comparison but if they're gonna carry on the name, I wish they had carried on the atmosphere.

I removed a star because of the requirement of showing a COVID vaccine verification card when another diner in the same city did not have such a requirement so clearly such requirement was not enforced by any ordinance.

The portions were large, but wasn't too crazy about the waffle. Kinda heavy, not at all like a Belgium, very blah taste with granola or something instead of real apple crisp. The whip cream, apples were good on. I tried the hashbrowns and carmel roll and they were both good, nothing to rave about but no complaints either.

A true Uptown classic. Great service and consistently awesome comfort food. Unless you are a NFL lineman, their portions are so easily split for 2 especially breakfast. Tried for the first time late on a Friday night. Inside dining was closed by then, but got a chicken philly sandwich with sweet potato tots and a chocolate shake to go, sat outside on their blue tables and it was very good. Service was friendly and had an accurate wait time. The sweet potato tots were very tasty as was everything else. A great place for a late night dinner or snack when everything else is closed.

I can't say enough good. This was my first visit here and it almost makes me wish I lived near this place. This was the BEST, yes the BEST omelet I've ever had. Decent coffee, really good hash browns and sourdough toast with the best butter. Good service. My only gripe is that I would have liked a little better social distancing. The tables are too close together for comfort during covid. I'm only in town for a few more days and they're not close to my client or hotel, but I'll try to get back here one more time.

It had been years, but returning to the Uptown Diner was solid. Lots of choices in the menu. No pretense from staff or patrons. Reasonable prices and great quantities of breakfast eats. No one minded our active and vocal 18-minth old. Our server, Tommy, was quick to check-in, get orders, suggest options, and get us anything we needed, included extra napkins and silverware. Love the large, free parking lot. And really enjoyed an easy-going brunch after Mass.

The diner so nice we visited twice. We went late at night for some dinner and a milk shake, and then came back first thing in the morning for breakfast. The food was spectacular and our service was wonderful. Our server was super sweet and she wrote down a bunch of recommendations for things to do and places to eat. She even gave a sample of banana milkshake Wich was amazing. We'll def be back the next time we're in town.

The first thing I noticed when I entered was the cleanliness of the restaurant. It was very nice. The employees treated me with great respect. They able to execute my special orders with out complaint and with a nice attitude Along with the great staff, the food was beyond my expectations for the size of the place. The portions were Phenomenal size for the price. I ordered the everything omelet with other ingredients from their Minnesota omelet. Delicious! I also ordered their waffle Kamakazi style which comes with a very liberal amount of banana, blueberries, pecans. I haven't had a late night breakfast that great in quite a while. I highly recommend Uptown Diner to anyone who lives by and has not visited there yet and to friends and family visiting, or people and people of business just passing through.

My personal fave is the crab cakes Benedict, but my partner gets the club sandwich a lot and the bites I've had of that were also incredible! Great omelettes, great burgers. I misread the Facebook post and didn't realize that 10PM - 7AM the dining room is closed. That was on me (just ask my wife...), so rating is then just on the food I ordered to go. I got the kamikaze french toast and a side of scrambled eggs. After a night out of drinks it was delicious, even after waiting to get home to eat it. The kamikaze french toast comes with A LOT of toppings - specifically blueberries and pecans. More than enough for the two slices of french toast. Maybe too much, hah. The french toast was great. The eggs were eggs, nothing special here. The hostess was nice but we only interacted for a minute so I can't speak much to the normal service.

I actually think that I had the best breakfast in my entire life here. I'm not joking. Their breakfasts are so excellent and reasonably priced it's crazy. I was in uptown visiting my daughter who lives there and she knows how much I love a good breakfast so she recommend the Uptown Diner. So glad she did. Staff was super friendly and the food outstanding. The portion sizes are rediculess so you might want to split a meal. I had the chicken fried steak and eggs and it was exceptional. Coffee was excellent too. So if you are within 25 miles get over there. I guarantee you'll be thanking me for the recommendation.

I went here with my sister for the first time. The bulk of their menu was breakfast. There were so many options we both joked about coming here again to try many of the options. The price of the food was reasonable considering the huge portions. I was a little surprised that the coffee was not free refills. My sister and I shared a couple of cups of coffee which was almost expensive as one of our meals. I would highly recommend people stop in and try the food it was delicious but be careful when ordering multiple cups of coffee

Holy Cow. This place came on a recommendation as somewhere that would be open in the middle of the night as we were on our way to the airport for a super early flight. We expected mediocre diner food, but instead were met with delicious, unique dishes. The omelet was incredible. Light, great quality, perfect amount of food. The sausage that they used was great! The malted waffle was amazing. Their caramel apple topper with the perfect pairing, and the granola was perfect for texture. The staff was super friendly and clearly cared about quality. Definitely recommending this place to our friends!

My boyfriend and I eat here often. The food isn't anything fancy, typical diner stuff, but it's done very well. The service is also very good even during the busy breakfast times. Great service, and excellent food. My girlfriend and I got a meal here earlier on a Saturday night, and we were very pleased with our experience. The owner greeted us at the door, and the great service continued from there. Near the end of our dinner, I asked to get a to-go cup for my coffee, and the waitress gave me a large cup full of fresh coffee. We couldn't have been happier with our visit.

On separate occasions and for different food, we have been told something was out or frozen and that we could choose something else. The prices are very reasonable and you get a TON of food. If you're looking for comfort food, the uptown diner is definitely the place you want to go. Parking is conveniently free and on-site, their lot is quite large. They will happily take an order over the phone for you to come and pick up. Whether you're traveling from out of state or you're a local resident of Minneapolis, the Uptown Diner is certainly a place that you need to check out at least once in your life! Excellent service, but subpar food. The pancake seemed to pick up some fishy taste from the griddle, the bacon was burnt to crumbles in spots, and Italian sausage in the biscuits and gravy is an unconventional and arguably bad choice. Hash browns and eggs were pretty average. The waitress, however, was extremely friendly and accommodating. The experience was almost worth it for her alone. Coming from a frequent patron of diners, this one just misses the mark.

Also great for eggs, etc. I've never tried the lunch menu because I am so in love with their breakfast, but other people I've dined here with had no complaints about salads or burgers. Only things I dislike are the confusing/ever-changing hours and the ala carte menu is too pricey. I lived in uptown for 2 years and this place became my favorite restaurant. Staff is great, atmosphere is very nice, and all the food I've had there is incredible. There's a special from 3:30pm to 11pm where you get a burger, waffle fries, and a milkshake for about $9. I've brought a lot of friends here for that. It's a must try if you like diner style breakfast and burgers.

The Uptown is my favorite diner! The food is always good and ranges from great breakfast fare to outstanding burgers and malts! The Uptown always seems to be lively, but never too noisy or unruly even after bar close. The staff are amazing, making you feel right at home without being patronizing, just friendly and helpful! The diner has the traditional counter with stools, spacious booths and tables with plenty of space and a relaxed vibe, so one feels welcome to stay and chat with friends for hours over coffee without feeling like you're overstaying your welcome!

Now this place is one of the best breakfast food joints I've ever had. They have it all, and position size is still large and gooood. Each item you can find reasonable prices right in your backyard. The food here is rather good I've never had a meal that disappointed me even slightly. My favorite part about this restaurant is the portions for their breakfast food. My girlfriend and I split a breakfast burrito and end up taking enough home to fill us both up again so it's almost like 4 meals in one. Granted we're more grazers than big meal eaters however the value is almost impossible to beat. On top of already incredible food and value they offered Groupons fairly regularly to save even more money. 5 stars out of 5 No Doubt.

A bit of a wait but a group of two was able to be seated in like 5 minutes so not a crazy long wait for a 2am stop when every bar has closed and this is the only place that's open other than your own bed. Obviously assessment of food is from the perspective of someone that's out at 2am, if you're going in any other time or in any other state of inebriation, look elsewhere for assessment of food and serivce. If at 2am, know you're in good hands unless you act inappropriately or make a mess.

The Uptown Burger was outstanding--using grilled Texas toast instead of a bun was perfect. Waffle fries and sweet potato tots were amazing. I'd definitely go back if I end up in Minneapolis again.

The food is always pretty good, and if you're there before 11pm, the $10 Burger & Malt special is a must. (If you tip well, your servers may just forget the time) I'm fond of the Cajun Eggs Benedict and the Biscuits & Gravy (they're not the real southern style, but are still quite good.) If it's busy, don't expect a chatty server or a lot of accommodations: You get what you pay for, cheap, tasty diner food, and fast service. Gluten Free is readily available.

Uptown Diner has ample parking, which is especially nice for such a crowded and busy street. The diner also features a lot of seating, from tables to booths, and I have yet to experience needing to wait for a table because the staff are generally efficient about getting places cleaned up. Uptown Diner is best known for its cookie dough pancakes, which are MASSIVE and take up the entirety of the plate. They are served with whipped cream and a drizzle of chocolate syrup, and yes, they actually DO taste like cookie dough. You can order various breakfast sides to go with it, and I'd recommend trying their hashbrowns. It's a big portion size, so try to split it with someone else. Been here about three times now and I love coming back.

Uptown Dinner was a nice discovery for us. We had been looking for a new restaurant to try in this part of Minneapolis. After doing a Google search this seemed like a good option. It was! A hungry person has many choices. Breakfast foods, lunch, dinner. If you come at dinner time you can have breakfast. I love that idea. Today we had a cheeseburger, seasoned waffle fries (the best we have ever had), Cubano, sweet potato tots, and a shake. All the food was great and plentiful. Since a Cubano is one of my all-time favorite sandwiches I was happy to see it on the menu. It was perfectly 👌 done. There seemed to be a nice flow of happy customers enjoying their meals. Used to live close to the Grand View Grill and then moved - this place is a sister store with a similar menu. The different variations of eggs Benedict are delicious. Boyfriend from the south loves the biscuits and gravy. When I'm in the mood for hot chocolate and French toast, they deliver. And the Tex Mex and Cajun breakfast are also great - and good reheated. Although it carries a typical diner vibe and menu, a few traits that make it so good are: -The portion sizes are LARGE and the price is average or LOWER than what you would get at other diners. -Menu has unique additions on top of other basic diner goods (chocolate chip cookie dough pancakes!!) -Food always comes out fast, hot and doesn’t taste like it’s been in a freezer for weeks. -No one food takes up all the space (for example, i hate breakfast places that just load a plate with hashbrowns, uptown diner has a good tasteful balance of whatever you order!) Seriously love this place and love their pancakes. Must try if you’re in Uptown.

I'm glad the Uptown Diner is still in business as it offers a good option for those with late-night cravings. My experience with the food, however, was not good. My wife and I ordered pancake, egg, and meat combos -- a very basic item for any restaurant, certainly not anything they should struggle to prepare competently. However, one of my two traditional pancakes was soaked in grease all along one edge and had a stray blueberry on the other edge. I mentioned this to the server, who explained that since they don't have enough grills to make all the different pancake varieties on their own grill, sometimes one will overlap into another by accident. He did apologize, but he also made it sound like it was an acceptable error. Well, what if I had an allergy to blueberries? These are not trivial issues when it comes to mixture of food ingredients. My wife had the pineapple upside-down pancakes and said the pineapple tasted tinny as if it came from a can. (I also had a hot chocolate that had unmixed powder caked on the bottom of the mug. We got the impression pretty much everything served by the Uptown was prefab.) Later her stomach was still feeling unsettled and she vomited much of her meal up onto the streets of Minneapolis as we were trying to enjoy our evening out. My stomach felt a little queasy, as well, although at least I didn't throw up. To add insult to injury, the food is overpriced. Two eggs and toast was the cheapest item on the menu at $5.50, I believe. Our meals, consisting of two pancakes, two eggs, and four bacon strips, were $8-10 each. I understand the prices are higher due to the location right in the heart of Uptown, but I expect to get good food if I'm going to pay a premium for it. Other problems existed, as well. Our booth was extremely drafty and we had to keep coats on the whole meal. It wasn't especially clean, either. There were copious amounts of ice on the sidewalk alongside the building, which my wife nearly fell on. No attempt seemed to have been made to do anything about the ice. Honestly, if our experience was an indicator of the status quo at the Uptown, I'd be surprised if they don't end up getting sued and having to shut down on that basis. We won't be back after our experience. For $25, we got an unsafe walk from the parking lot, a drafty, dirty booth, and food that didn't taste good and even made us sick. And the portions were not generous, either. Just two hours later, we both had to stop at a fast-food restaurant because we were hungry again. OVERALL: Not recommended unless it's 2 a.m. and you're desperate (and even then, if you have a vehicle, there are better options)

Such an Uptown staple! Their hollandaise sauce should be bottled and sold, it's that good. I usually get their corn beef hash that comes with toast, an egg cooked to your liking, and hash browns. I always order a side of hollandaise to go with it. Their eggs benedict is excellent too, as is the Cajun breakfast. They're clean, have online ordering through Chow Now, and will meet your comfort food cravings.

My boyfriend and I have been coming to this establishment every Saturday since January of this year. We've never had an unpleasant experience until today. There was one group of four waiting before us when we came and had my name added to the list. We sit down and watch two tables, one of two and the other of three come in and get sat before us. What made us really upset was that my name was still on the list while the other tables just came and got sat immediately. We asked why we were left to wait and the hostess just responded with "oh, I'm sorry, hold on" which made no sense as she was the one that took my name (there was two of them running around) and we were sitting right in front of her. Simple advice to the girl working this Saturday morning with her hair in a bun, wearing a grey sweatshirt, sitting people is a first come, first serve basis unless they call ahead, sweetheart. Post meal edit, our server was absolutely LOVELY. Didnt get a chance to catch her name but we were sat at the very end half booth inside the restaurant!

Uptown Diner is our go-to place for weekend breakfast/brunch. Prices are reasonable, the service is friendly and efficient. On the down side, their coffee is barely adequate; we usually bring our own and ask them to charge us for coffee - sometimes they do, sometimes they don't. All of their meals are oversize, so expect to bring a full portion home with you (or maybe two). We love their Cajun; the kids love their waffles and pancakes. Since the portions are so big, we get to have waffles as the 'dessert' to our Cajun. Mmmmm.

This used to be my favorite restaurant growing up. I don’t know what happened. I’m happy that they changed the hours. When I was a kid they were only open from something like 6am to 3pm so it was such a treat to go there since it was so rare to actually make it while they were still open. Now that they are a 24 hour diner I think the quality of the food has gone significantly down. They’ve added a lot of dishes that sound interesting but trust me, they only sound interesting. I was really disappointed by this apple crisp waffle type of dish they had, it was terrible and dry. The only thing I like here is their fruit plate because all year long it has a good variety of fruit and unlike other restaurants it’s a HUGE plate of fruit, not some skimpy little bowl like you normally get for the usual $4-$6. I think Uptown Diner charged around $6 for theirs but it’s worth every penny. I can never finish it all in one sitting. The variety is unmatched. Oranges, pineapple, strawberry, cantaloupe, strawberries, bananas. I’m obsessed ❤️. But that’s literally it. Oh and fine. Their waffle fries are to die for also. But those two things are seriously it. I don’t even like their shakes or malts. I just don’t get the hype. They took a good thing and made it bad. But I do enjoy just hanging out here with my friends.

I love Uptown Diner! It's got a cool mid century modern feel, super good food, and awesome staff. The house made hashbrowns are my favorite but they're specialty pancakes andcfeench toast are pretty fabulous too. Parking can be tricky during rush times. Fun place to eat food stuff any time of day including gluten free options and lighter versions of some things too.

It's a classic diner; tables, booths or a seat at the counter. The portions are generous, the food is fresh, there are choices for vegetarians and gluten-free folks as well. There is usually a wait in line for weekend brunch.
