Highly recommend visiting the place! The staff were all incredibly friendly. We had drinks for the first couple hours and sat upstairs. I went through about 5 whiskey sours. They were not too strong, but good, we had some specialty drinks requested, not on the menu, of which the bartender made and that was nice to get a drink for my wife which she could handle. The place started hopping about 10 and has a great atmosphere. We didn’t go on the roof because it was raining and cold. We finally ordered a pizza to share and it was incredible as well. Thin crunchy crust. I’m not sure what the mirror room was about but went in like everyone and so there it is. Huge Jenga was fun to watch and a little scary when they fell.

Love the atmosphere here! Fun people watching and chatting with other patrons. Great food too. The wings were delicious and had plenty of heat to them! I didn’t sit on the rooftop because it was way too hot outside. I would love to try the rooftop in the Fall with nicer weather.

I don't often leave a review for any place, but feel compelled to do so for Ties Lounge. I love everything about this place. Their goal of uniting people, their fantastic location, their servers, and of course the food! They, like every establishment, are struggling for employees. However the ones they have are superb! And the food is very, very good. If you want the Nicollet Mall to return to "post" everything that has happened to our beautiful city please visit Ties. It's hopefully a sign of our comeback as a great city!! Everyone is welcome there. Also the best happy hour downtown!!!

Great atmosphere, food was fairly good, but not really impressed with anything food wise, good music, value was good. Empty on other other floors, rooftop had a nice crowd.

Had the best birthday night out here with the girls in October. It was clean, drinks had a great pour, and the servers were quick and had top notch hospitality. Our server was Hallie and when I tell you she took care of me and my girls, she did her thang. Go see her and Thank me later. Food is the best. My favorite is the brisket sliders and Mac and cheese.

The atmosphere is chill, very diverse crowd. Drinks are similar to other bars in area, not too expensive. The rooftop is small but a good place to hangout with friends. The place has a nightclub vibe atmosphere on the weekends.

We went into ties last night for the first time and we loved it! The vibe in the lounge was amazing, the food was great, and the margs were super good! There was a variety of people in the bar and they catered to everyone! I will 100% recommend this place!

An amazing experience in the heart of downtown minneapolis. The atmosphere here is amazingly contagious. The food 10/10, the staff 10/10, everything here is a 10/10! Ties is a welcoming location with lots to do Monday - Sunday 24/7, 365. Drinks are delicious and the music makes ya get jiggy. I highly recommend Ties to all! I'll make sure to keep coming back

We went on a Sunday and they had Happy hour from 3-7. A live DJ was playing a little mix of old school music which added to the vibe. We ordered the fried oysters- it had a lot of breading but the oysters were decently big. We enjoyed the rooftop area and the multiple food options/menus to choose from!

These young guys got something good going 100%. Fun activities, decent drinks, good venue but They still got things to work out but theyll get there! I will continue to support this business but the staff and service needs to be improved.

Came here for happy hour and also ordered dinner. Great happy hour wine, generous pours. Ordered shrimp scampi and cheese ravioli. We each thought it was some of the best we've had and the serving size was just right! Place has a youthful vibe, yet as older people we felt very welcome. Staff was friendly and service was great. We will definitely be back!

We wanted to check out the rooftop on a Friday night but was told by the security by the stairs to the rooftop that they were Closed and not taking anymore ppl. We had split up from our group to get some pizza on the main level and couldn’t meet up with them after because the rooftop was “Closed”. We waited a few minutes and eventually watched the rest of our group walk down the stairs from the rooftop as well as 15 other ppl. The ppl coming down also said that they closed the upstairs after they had already been up there. Seems odd to not have a system in place where if 4 ppl come down, then 4 ppl can go up. Our friends who had been on the rooftop complained that the space was so small that it was barely large enough for the bartenders and DJ let alone all the other patrons. I realize this is a new establishment, so maybe there’s still some things to smooth over. But first impression was not very impressive. The pizza was good but they wouldn’t add one more topping. Seems odd to not offer the option to just add pepperoni to a sausage pizza. Bartenders were nice and pretty attentive. I was impressed with the security detail at the main entrance, it’s nice to know this place cares a lot about the safety of their customers. Would love to try out more food and the rooftop at some point but I’m not in any rush after tonight.

We had a big group to celebrate a friend on an early Monday evening and had a great time. They’re working out a few kinks but all the food we had was great - wings, pizza, pasta - with good vegetarian options. Service was great. Hopefully the roof is open soon!!

Had a blast. Went on a Thursday and the vibes were amazing. Their Employee, Lara, was very welcoming and provided great customer service. I would definitely recommend checking this place out. Food was good and the music was lit!

Its a great looking place! Drinks, priced the same way as the rest of downtown. Main issue is drinks are mainly water, security wears ski mask and bullet proof vest, and the DJ plays music stupid loud and just plays horns with the music. Cool venue, about as basic and good as Minneapolis gets though with its night life.

my husband and I got there in time for happy hour (4-6) on a Thursday afternoon. Super good prices for being right downtown! There weren’t many people there at all! The bar tender was very nice and chatted with us for a few minutes. After we closed out our tab, a man from the restaurant came over and asked, “if youre not in a hurry, would we stay and eat food if it was free?” We said HECK YES. They had accidentally sent in 2 orders of their BBQ chicken wings drizzled with Buffalo sauce and they didn’t want them to go to waste. Oh they were AMAZING!! Crispy, with a good amount of chicken…mmmm….I will always order these whenever we come here! He was an Angel—literally his name was Angel 🤣

I have been here 4 times now each time the rating goes down. This is a nice bar in downtown Minneapolis walking distance for the sports stadiums. There is no cover charge to get in, once you are inside you have 3 floors to choose from and soon a 4th as the rooftop will be open. The top floor is a lounge like area with an all mirror room for IG pics. They have a small bar up there, couches and a couple tvs for a more relax vibe. The main floor is a big bar in the corner surrounded by lots of seating areas and a place to order food. There are 2 bathrooms on this floor and the mens bathroom is tiny, 1 urinal and 1 stall. They play good music on this floor also there is a music box to pay and play music of your choice. Downstairs is a small club. A couple tables for VIP a small bar window, and a DJ playing HIP HOP music (at least they were on my visits). The reason for the low stars is the last two times there was like a 30 minute wait to get in due to capacity. But the whole time standing there you watch the security let their friends and cute girls skip the line. Even if you have a stamp from being in there already they make you wait at the back of the line. Once you are inside if you go to the bar it takes forever to get service. Like 15-20 mins everyone waiting beside me for a drink was complaining as well. I haven’t tried the food here, but its pizza and wings can’t really go wrong there. Downstairs in the basement is the club. The area is so small and crammed that it gets super hot, you cannot even enjoy yourself cause people are constantly knocking you drink on you from the lack of elbow room. Last time I was here the closed the top floor early with no explanation like at 1 am, they also close the whole bar at 1:30 am so if you waited in line 30 mins just to get in a 1am you only get 30 mins to enjoy yourself before they shut down. All the wait staff I encountered there were nice, they bring drinks to your table if you are sitting in the main floor dining area. The bar does have bar games as well, jenga and giant connect 4 to keep you entertained. Now I get most places are short on staff so I can understand issues there. But if you are going to close 30 minutes early then at least don’t make people wait in line for long periods of time. (probably a ruse to make the bar seem like everyone wants to be there). Overall a good bar and good vibes to go check out. It will be better once the rooftop opens I hope.
