Had the chicken fried steak on a biscuit today and it was fantastic! I hesitate to call it a sandwich. But it really doesn’t matter.
Steak was well breaded and tenderized nicely. Gravy was flavorful and a nice consistency. Not too thick. Biscuit was a nice component and clearly not an afterthought. I think I saw a drizzle of honey too.
Will definitely order again!

woweeee this place slaps! really loved everything i tried! the cajun boiled peanuts were so tasty, and definitely brought the heat! the friend pickles had some amazing batter! and the brisket….oh lordy the brisket will not soon be forgotten! tender, juicy, smokey goodness! i will be back to graze and with so many choices i might just still go back to the fabled rooster!

Went here for a quick dinner. I got the brisket sammy with the Gouda potato salad. Both were absolutely delicious. I love the space with all the different cuisine choices. Very chill space!

Very mid tier food all around, the ribs lacked any smokiness and weren’t very tender. Tasted like something out of an oven. The beans were super sweet, collard greens were OK. Nice people but I wouldn’t go back

Myself and my friend tried the pulled pork and okra bites, both were delicious.
It was an experience, the employees were so kind and accommodating. Will definitely go back to try more! ☺️

Fried pickles and Cajun fries were sooooo good!! Smoked jack fruit was perfectly spicy and pork rib tips were delicious! Just ask my 14 year old.. super boujee eater!

The meat is so flavorful and the sauces have some real bite, especially the REAPER which is a flavorful mouth burner. They have vegan and gluten-free options as well! Guaranteed good comfort food, especially on a rainy day like today.
Pro tip: Stop by on Sunday for the s'mores waffles. They really hit the spot, especially if you have kids.

I recently won a boatload of barbecue from the kind folks at TFR via Instagram and was blown away by how good the meat is. I ended up with ribs, pulled pork, and pulled beef and was lucky I had a couple friends on hand to help me out! There were four different sauces, each good in their own way, and a dazzling array of sides. I'll admit that the sides (potato salad, macaroni salad, fries, baked beans, pickles, and coleslaw) didn't all shine as brightly as the barbecue but several were top-notch. If you're craving bbq, order here!

Chef Shaun cares so much about using quality ingredients and taking the time to prepare them correctly, and it shows. He is always cooking up new creations that keep the menu interesting and is even happy to make accommodations for food allergies or preferences. If you want to learn anything about his food, the local community, or his time in the military, you'll find a fast friend behind the counter. I look forward to watching the Rooster grow and gain the local notoriety it deserves!

I'm Southern and find that most restaurants tout their Southern style of cooking, and I am always disappointed until today! This food is as good as anything I have ever had in the South. Bar none!! Bless your heart! If you haven't tried it yet, get down there and try it!!

There are hidden "service charge" and "delivery fees" on top of tax at this restaurant. Something priced $14 on the menu quickly becomes $18 when all is said and done. This is a deceptive practice, as the menu made no mention of the additional fees.

So I got a pulled pork sandwich for lunch from here. It was good pulled pork but it was sauced based bbq (expected from a place in downtown ). The sauce was au jus which is a first for me with BBQ. But it was fine and I was hungry.
But the beans. THE BEANS!
I mean bean wise it was good baked beans. And the sauce was nice and thick with burnt ends in it. BUT THE SAUCE! THE SAUCE WAS LIKE A PUNCH IN MY WIMPY LITTLE MINNESOTAN FACE! I went through an entire 32oz soda to get the burn down and some halloween candy my temp office had out.
All in all probably won't go there again because I am a wimp
But would recommend.
