Reviews of Sumo Grill & Buffet

Great variety of food 😋 excellent service 👌 My family and I visited here afew years ago. Peaceful and quiet atmosphere it was my daughter's bday the staff gave her a free slice of cake and sung happy birthday. 😊 …

It is ok. But not recommend it
Lunch was good but not enough food
Also some food was cold. Looking hot but taste was cold. Inside interior good.
Clean and safe place.
Angel Brown
The food could be greatly improved. The quality of the food is subpar due to the food having the crunch level of a hard metal ball. The service? AMAZING the first visit. The last two visits my bf and I got ZERO service.
Gloria Michaca
The personal they are friendly but the food not everything is good they need to put more taste on food
Dan D
For buffet food, my expectations were certainly exceeded. Plenty of fresh options that were all quite good. However, waiters are excessively pushy about reminding patrons about tipping, almost to the point of being uncomfortable.

This restaurant is good. There are a lot of different dishes to try. The Mexican chefs at the grill are very fun guy. I have posted a YouTube video called "Awesome Chefs of Tepenyaki Supreme Buffet." I love the loud and busy atmosphere at this restaurant. It magnify the fun eating out experience ten-folds.
Renee Wade
Offerings consist of American, some Chinese, and some Japanese. It was very limited. Only one noodle dish, no dumplings, the chicken teriyaki and chicken on a stick were very dry. The Teppanyaki was the only saving grace, but not worth the dinner price tag. There was no wonton soup. Out of the 10 serving stations, 3 consist of dessert, 2 American fare, 1 primarily fried items with a beef with onions & pepper and tortilla, and 1 salad bar with cold sides. The remaining a mixture of different types of foods. The sushi bar had 6 types of sushi, and a variety of rolls with 2 cold side offerings. Many trays were left empty of food. Staff was average. Completed dishes remained on table for 20 minutes before removal. Refill of drinks was completed faster. Staff were polite.

the longest buffet I've experienced in town. They have so many options. a grill, a sushi bar, sea food, salad bar, a long dessert bar and many more.
M-F 10.99 till 3.30pm
All the other times 14.99 per person
including a beverage
Really cheap for this price

I loved the variety of food but felt that some of it had been out since lunch, we went at 6pm. I understand kids will be there with their families and it's not the restaurants fault but there wete so many kids yelling, screaming and running around the whole 1 hour and 45 minutes we were there. That part honestly sucked and I absolutely love kids and want them to have fun and be free. Just not in the environment we were in.

I have eaten at this place often over the last year and I must say they are forever improving. They use to be a typical $12 buffet without drink being included, however now they are charging $15 with a drink. They also now make you pay before you eat! But no
worries the food is consistently hot! Everything was so delicious and even the crab they serve has gotten larger. The crab is even hot and the seafood is fresh. They have a large variety of sushi and you can even utilize the grill. You can also make pho! The best part is the chocolate fountain. I was a bit upset that the price increased however so has the service! The waiters were fast and friendly on a Sunday night! One of my favorite spots!

This was my first time there. The food was delicious! The employees are very nice and attentive. Our waitress gave my husband a beautiful ornament because it was Father's Day, 6/19/22. (I was surprised at the quality of the ornament. Wow!) We will return to Sumo.

Okay just my salad setup roast beef was kind of dry and hard to eat I'm everything else is pretty good so clean friendly people a place to park wheelchair accessible bathrooms are okay nice things for Valentine's Day to truly good the fight cuz somebody took one whole tray of food and people started to fight kisame took the the food tray off the steam
Fuechai Vang
It's not bad. Didn't hand out any spoons, only forks. Gotta pay first before you eat. The crayfish (usually my favorite dish) wasn't too tasty, mediocre at best. Food is what you would typically expect though, not too shabby. I heard waiters here typically ask for larger tips, but I did not encounter that there, so not sure if that's true.
Brian Viengthong
Delicious food. I love how you have options from meets, veggies, seafood and many more. The sushi here is great, I would suggest having low sodium soy sauce put out as an option. The deserts options here are amazing. You got cakes and runs of ice cream.
The weird child's :3
This place is really good although their is sometimes when you ask the waiters something you need they take long to get it and never receive it but overall great.
Mathew Lehmann
Large variety of seafood, sushi, American, and hibachi. Overall they try and keep the buffet clean but the way they have the ice cream setup seems less then sanitary as kids bend into the bin to reach the ice cream.
Jorge Collazo
First time in the establishment and I left very satisfied. All the food was very fresh and none of the trays seemed to be sitting there undisturbed for a long period of time. The food moves fast hence the freshness.
The price was very fair also.
I found my new Chinese buffet 😉
Will most definitely come back and wouldn't hesitate to recommend.
Gary & Kris Steiner
The food was great, especially the Mongolian Grill. The prices seemed a bit high and it seemed odd that they asked for a tip before were even seated. Our tip amount depends on the level of service and we didn't know prior to our meal how good the service would be.

A great place for a family or group of friends to gather and eat until you burst! The buffet is well maintained and has something for everyone. The seafood is rustic, plentiful and DELICIOUS with clams, mussels, salted whole shrimp and crab quarters, crawdads and whole steamed fish and salmon filets. Otherwise there's roasted asian chicken, sweet and sour chicken, "pot roast" style prime rib, three soups, a sushi bar, salad bar, build your own tempanyaki cooked to order, desserts with ice cream bar and a chocolate fountain! Place is very colorful, casual, busy and being in midtown, a very diverse clientele!
Mark Brady
Some of the food was good some didn’t want to try looked too old.The spinach and cheese tasted bad, the beets tasted bad. The mixed vegetables were OK. The oven roasted chicken was good the prime rib was good the corn on the cob was good. The fruit salad was also good.
Rosy Sánchez
Everything is good the only thing that makes me feel uncomfortable is to tip before eating.
Genie Harris
Confort food to seafood also a grill w lots of fresh options. Clean and full buffet area. Very clean restaurant and bathrooms. Fast and friendly service. Well go again n again and recommend 👌. …

I called and reserved seats for my family the weekend of mother's day. I got there and was taken to a VIP room. The food was delicious! The staff were very nice, and patient. My sister had ask for a birthday service, we didn't bring a cake. The staff were nice enough to create a heart shaped cake (it was the staff's idea to make a heart shaped cake with the small peices of cake they have out by the deserts) and brought out candle and we sung happy birthday. I recommend this place!!!

We have always driven past this location along highway 694. We always see it and say to each other, "We should go there" but we keep driving. One day, we decided that this was the day we went to the biggest buffet in Minnesota.
The food selection was large and plentiful. There was the typical buffet fare: rice, noodles, beef, chicken, and fish. Then there was the additional things that make this buffet great, like build your own Pho and Mongolian grill. They had a wide selection of sushi.
The Pho table was very quick. However, the Mongolian grill took a long time and they messed up an order of a woman who was waiting a long time.
The sushi was of medium quality.
Initially, the table we were seated at had a wobbly leg so every time my husband tried to eat, the table would slosh my food towards me and vice versa!
Eventually, we just moved to an open table and alerted the waitress.
They could have been quicker about filling up my soda.
Overall, it was great and we will return.
Nazly Elemary
They have great grilled
All my family love the food there stuff are friendly

Great place to go for the Hibachi Grill
Update review new name same great food

As a visitor from Nashville, I visited this Buffett with my family on a busy Saturday night. The place was very clean and organized with fairly long line (20 minute wait). Their Chinese food were good but nothing that stands out compared to other Chinese buffets. However, I was impressed by the quality of their sushi and how fast the sushi chef was making them. Going to Teppeanyaki has challenged my previous bias that Asian buffet doesn’t serve good sushi. Overall, a wonderful experience. Would’ve given 5 stars, had I not been to Caesar’s palace in Las Vegas.
Rik Olsen
Employees are always super friendly and nice! My best friend and I are frequent return customers. Unlike other reviewers have mentioned, we have never been hassled for tips.
Hibachi is always a great option, very nice chefs. The place is always well cleaned, employees constantly wiping and sanitizing utensils and surfaces.
Food is par for the course for buffet food and given the pandemic and riots, this place does the best it can with keeping food items fresh.
Overall, there are reasons my bestie and I frequent this spot. Best cure after a hard day of work for sure!
Malik McDiesel
Excellent place for lunch or dinner... Selection is enormous and food is favorable, hot and succulent!

This place is super busy and crowded all the times. The food is great, especially the habachi grill. My family loves going here and we give reviews and pictures on our instagram acct @ Kangen_Water_Panacea.
Jennifer Uribe
I didn’t mind it, food was good! When we were leaving we were stopped and asked for a tip so they definitely expect you to leave them a tip we had already left a tip at the beginning but they wanted another tip for the service. So just keep that in mind to carry cash for extra tips!
Brandy Smith-Keezer
Good place to have family dinners and has a great grill.
Ben MacKinney
Better quality then I expected. Highlights were prime rib, snow crab and teriyaki chicken!
Siada Loch
The food was good but waitress was a little pushy with the tips. We weren’t finished eating and we had a table full of finished plates and no refill and the waitress said “no tips” in Spanish for my boyfriend and English to me. We did leave a tip when we were finished but it was really bold and rude
Chanel Chanel
Food rushed cooked to high for food not that good they watch you hard
Torres “el.sombre” Arturo
Tepikiyaki grill Fridley one my favorite. This location is Clean Great Staff. We go wright when they open 10:55 am Saturdays particular time I choose.
Best time miss all the Rush Fresh Food..
Subhransu Nanda
The staff were very hospitable. But the food wasn't amazing. It was ok. Too many dishes of Chicken. Very less seafood options for $16.89 for an adult. I have had better options for $14. The restrooms were squeaky clean. Too less options for desert as well and also of less quality.
Steve F
Decor is STILL bad, and dirty. Food is second rate, cheap American-Chinese at a premium price. Exactly like it was when it was Teppanyaki buffet. Rebrand didn't change anything. Who did they think they were fooling. Well, me for one visit.
Chau Giang Ngo Huynh (Katherine)
Pros: Good settings, visually nice, spacious. Price is cheap for lunch. The dessert is nice.
Cons: let’s start with the food: poor variety, not very tasty. I feel like eating KFC more than going to an Asian Restaurant. I had a spoon of each dish and so do my friends because they are too bad. Sushi doesn’t taste like anything but rice. Most food are either greasy or extremely dry. I have been to another buffet place that is also not too far from there before. Even though the price is one or two dollar more expensive, food is significantly better. Or they at least taste way better. That’s why I had lots of expectations from this place. Kinda disappointed not gonna lie. The service is quite insensitive.
So will i come back? For the food, maybe, if I want to eat something okay with a reasonable price. For the service, maybe no. I find other alternatives with similar price and significantly better food & service.
Gerardo avila
great food, make sure if you go leave a TIP or else waitress chase you down. Hibachi is really good the guys there are awesome.
DeShaune Poe
Ok selection of food. Here one thing I found interesting about this place is they watch your plates(Food Choices). Don't go for lunch and take a piece of shrimp of fish.... They make you put it back or take the plate
Kay D.
Exactly what you'd expect from a buffet. Wait staff was available when necessary
mohamed ali (Bilaal)
Love this place but grill is the only issue for me.
Chocolate Piesees
The hibachi grill is my favorite ! I think they're 2 brothers who always chef it up there. They're the absolute best❤
Jennifer Davis
Not being a huge fan of buffet food, I wasn't wholly disappointed with this one. There was some fresh-ish food options. And it appeared clean. Parking is easy.
Terrell Malone
Very very nice place. Great food wonderful delicious food and service great family place very kid friendly
Maria
Wide variety of food so you get many choices. The place is nice a bit crowded but over all it was nice and friendly.
Yuri Music Luv'r
Nice place, great staff. Great food but they do tend to overcome the seafood and stir fry (shrimp, crabs)

We were visiting from out of state and decided to go here for a late lunch and had a group of 11. I was a bit hesitant and had my guard up because I read the reviews about the tipping. We didn't have a problem with the servers asking to tip more. We were courteous and always tipped well. It was a nice meal and we were all impressed with the food choices. The pho was even very good. 5 star for food quality to price ratio and 4 star for service. I feel if you are nice and polite to others they will be nice and polite to you :) Thank you Teppanyaki !

Me, my boyfriend and our son who is 2 1/2 years old came here this past weekend. The lady asked for my sons birthdate, which is understandable. But after i told her, she looked my son up and down. And told me he was too big to be 2 1/2. My son is in the 90th percentile for his height. But she still had us pay for him. My understanding they are suppose to be free under 3. How can someone else tell me how old my kid is?

Very Good Food and lots if choices
Tiffany Morgan
The food here is great and they have a H U G E variety of it! Always seems to be fresh and hot. The reason for only 3 stars is because the wait staff. They are very rude. I watched the server say to the table next to us that he had to give her a tip. What?!?!? No, he doesn't! I completely understand that there are some cultural differences but that's just tacky! I also heard similar talk while at the other location. I really think they need to understand that their job performance dictates what they're going to get for a tip and if they get nothing then they need to step up their game and try harder to be more friendly and more helpful. Receiving a warm welcome from them will also help tremendously! But commenting on no tip from a customer is a really big no-no.

Good tasting food we came late so some things were dry but very good

Wife and I drove in from western Minnesota just to try this place. Service was excellent, food was hit and very tasty. Sushi was fabulous. I would rather have snow crab over the ones that are being offered. I think there would be a while lot less waste.
We will be back and we will reccomend to our family and friends.

Seated quickly, and the server was polite & quick to fulfill requests. There were a lot of options, most of which were delicious. The sushi was yummy, but the chicken dishes fell a little flat. Decent prices and a cool atmosphere. I will definitely be coming back. Thanks for the feast!
Tanisha Gordon
The food there is great. The staff were really nice and helpful.
BAYOWORLD
I really like this place they have a huge variety of foods to pick from, and good hibachi. I am also glad that they have gotten better with pestering with tips cause it used to be extremely annoying how they would ask for tips all over the place. Even asking for them on the napkin dispenser on the table. They also raised the price however I usually go for lunch so it’s not that bad.
Sometimes the food is not as hot as is could be but if you mention it to them they usually are helpful...they also have space for larger parties so you can definitely bring the whole family, and if your bringing a really large party just call and give them a heads up!
Also know if you go during a busy time your going to have to wait.
polito Polito
Forget about the service, is great the food is awesome there is food x everybody so delicious 👏👏👏 …

It was our first visit. The kids in our family said this is their favorite place to eat. We loved the great selection! Our waitress was very nice and brought our 5 year old a little cake with candle for his birthday. He had a fun time.
Maria D Espinoza-Hernandez
This is our go to place for family outtings. It has a variety of foods from Chinese to typical American foods. Child friendly staff, waitresses are always interacting with kids and are always willing to help you while you eat. We are seated in a timely manner, we have only had to wait once but they where organized and fast. The food is always hot and stocked very often. There are two thing that we have encountered here which are as follows;
1. Some times waiters will be out right rude and raise their voice at you or loose patience.
2. Over the weekends they will have two or 3 people share an area to clean and serve. You will always see a great worker paired with a tip picker. Which is sad and I have had to go out of my way to make sure that the great worker gets their reward.
Tasha Embry
Huge variety of food and a place to order custom Chinese food made on the teppanyaki grill. Fresh sushi and a good size ice cream bar too. Service was fast and friendly. Only negative thing I can say is that they had nothing to crack open the freshly made crab. My kids loved it. My family will definitely go again!
John Gill Waterfall2013
Food was good. Some things were not the freshest, but not bad either. Service was ok. Selection was good. Music was terrible. One christmas song over and over and over and over never changed, jingle bells. Again, over and over and over.
Lady Jane (Ms. Baggins)
Went on a Sunday at 3:30 pm fathers day. It was super busy and was able to get seated right away though for the four of us.
Dinner is 14.99 and Lunch is 10.99.
I read many reviews regarding servers harassing for tip. I did experience this, however I did tip and left between Sriracha bottle and Napkins. She did not see this and proceeded to hand me the tip tray as I was leaving and asked why I not tip and had an upsetting look on her face. I couldn't understand her English I thought she asked me why I didn't want the fortune cookies because they were on the tip tray. I said no I don't like cookies and then realize she was asking why am I not tipping. I then pointed to the money by the napkins and she was embarrassed. I can see how customers would be bothered by this. I was tad annoyed, but I get it. I will come back because the food is good.

This afternoon 9/9/16, I brought in three friends all in there late 80's and mid 90s. They enjoyed there meal with profuse compliments for the food, it's taste, presentation, temperature were all excellent. The staff did great at keeping the serving counter areas very clean as well as the guest eating areas
attentive.
Two in our group used walkers and I used a cane. They were very patient and Seniors can be quite precise on how they want things done. They were also very courteous and helpful in opening doors as we departed.
This was the first visit for all of us but I assure you we will be back. All bringing either family or other friends with them.
Thao Vang
The food was pretty good and there were decent choices for some one with shellfish allergies like me. The staff was very prompt with getting dishes and refills. We had a pretty large group and they were able to accommodate us nicely. My only gripe, though was that I wish the host staff and wait staff communicated more, my group left our tip when we first paid because no one carried cash, but towards the end of our service, the waiters came by with the fortune cookies and still passively aggressively asked for tip. When our group left the table and the staff didn't see any tip, they were very vocal about it. I had to tell them we tipped before hand, which is something the host could have relayed to them earlier. But yeah, that kinda rubbed me the wrong way...
ManOpeace
Food is good, really enjoyed it.
That said, the area this buffet resides in is rough, everyone seems on edge. (even the people inside the buffet and the staff)
Hard to fault the buffet for that. 5 stars
Paul Regis
We found this place when visiting MN. By looking at the neighborhood we didn’t have much expectations but wanted to check it out anyway. The inside was nice, clean and cozy environment! There were PLENTY of food and choices. It was dinner time, on a weekend and they charge 14.99 per person, and soft drinks were included. Given the amount of food, quality, and choices it was very cheap! People who waited the tables were very nice and hard working. There is plenty of (free) parking in front- part of the strip mall. Overall, a well worth stop.
lin yoyo
I recently discovered this place and I have to say it is a great buffet especially compared to what's available around my area. They have a good selection of food and the quality is usually good as well. They have a variety of Asian dishes, fried foods, salad bar options, sushi, seafood, beef, ribs, and deserts. My personal favorite is the Hibachi station, where they offer a selection of items for the cooks to prepare right on the spot. It is fresh, tasty and the cooks work really well. There is usually a bit of a line but it moves fast and you can leave the food cooking while you search for more food.
I definitely recommend this place if you live nearby.
Robin Hassell
It has good food at times. I ate there today and the orange chicken was fried too hard the teriyaki chicken was over cooked. Now don’t get me wrong I have had some tender chicken from them, just not today. I was disappointed. But I will go back.
Kristin Spencer
The food is the usual spread for a buffet. Everything tasted really good. The hibachi took a long time to grill the food, but once it was made, it tasted amazing. Be sure to finish most of the food in your plate because they have a sign that says you could be charged for wasted food (Im glad they do this because I think this is a good practice to discourage people from getting more than they can eat). Overall, a really good experience
Alexander Van Someren
Great food, great variety, great value!
Eric Gregoire
I went here solo for lunch and my experience far exceeded my expectations. I was greeted with what felt almost like frustration that I had come in, but I shook that off and was amazed at the variety of the buffet. And "Jesus tap-dancing Christ on a cracker!" they have sushi too.
I didn't get to try everything, but I have to admit I was expecting less in terms of food quality. It's definitely surpasses the typical buffet fare I've encountered. The sushi bar was respectable too with a varied selection of rolls to sample; No nigiri in sight, but I came in after the lunch rush.
The staff were very consistent in clearing my table and I don't think there was one time I came back to see a used plate. The gent responsible for this was extremely polite and attentive as well.
Overall, I feel I got far more than what I had paid for and would recommend to anyone looking for a family-friendly place to quietly enjoy an unassuming dining experience.
Richard Dongses
Decent selection of food. I tend to go for the sushi and the seafood options. It always seems crowded when I go, which I think is a good thing if a lot of people want to come here! But a bad thing if you don't like waiting in lines for their popular dishes, or prefer a quieter spot to dine. I think if people can eat their money's worth, it's a great place because their food is pretty decent... but unfortunately I'm not one of them, so I'd rather not pay typical buffet prices. But that's just me.
Josh Knowlton
Huge selection of food! I have been coming to this location for years now, and have never known them to be closed on a holiday. Fairly priced buffet, with a little sushi bar, and Mongolian style grill in the back. The restaurant is usually kept pretty clean. I've had some questionable servers over the years, but who hasn't. There is good reason this buffet keeps me coming back.
Deandre Dunbar
Their dinner and weekend menu includes crab, shrimp, crayfish, primerib, salmon, mussels, and some type of fish that has a gnarly face but is actually delicious. And than the regular Chinese buffet dishes. I noticed the staff is attentive and the kitchen keeps food fresh rotating often. Also sushi. PS, their chicken nuggets are bomb. The price I paid was 17 per person. It says 14.99 on the website but I guess theirs taxes. Overall I enjoy going.
Angela Jackson
Food was really good, hot, and well stocked. We were there at 8:30pm on Labor Day. I didn't find a dish I didn't like. The plate clearing was a little slow, but they were a tad busy so I wasn't terribly put out.
My only warning is to avoid the chocolate fountain. I saw multiple kids not being supervised and their dirty hands were routinely in the chocolate. Ew. Otherwise everything else was very tasty.
Craig Anderson
From the Mongolian grill, sushi bar, Chinese buffet, salad bar to the American comfort food buffet, ingredients and offerings were fresh, temperature correct, ample selections and expeditious service. Pricing is very reasonable and affordable as evidenced by the large number of diners with children. Very clean restaurant, utensils and plates. Restrooms were exceptionally clean. Cash, checks, credit and debit cards accepted. Ample parking lot spaces available.
Ermiyas Bekele
Very nice customer service with lots of good tasty foods.
Jill Carmody
Celebrated 10 year old's birthday. He wanted sushi. We had a great time. Had a room to ourselves for most of dinner. It was great food and they did a great job with service. The dessert is okay but not super.
Johanna Knowles
I have never had a bad experience at this buffet. Food is always fresh and hot! And servers are so attentive. I would say maybe they're a bit overstaffed because there's so many of them around but that isn't a bad thing... it makes service that much faster. They're constantly working hard from what I see and not only are they fast, they are effective! A huge variety of food and I can never get everything I want because I end up getting too full... only thing that might be bad is the location. It's in a very, very sketchy area!!! But once you're inside, you forget youre in that sketchy area. Must try!!! Love ths place.
Lexi Toberman
This is my 2nd favorite Chinese restaurant. I have yet to find a place that beats the hibachi grill and supreme buffet in spring lake park. The only thing I like better at this place is crab legs and the chocolate fountain. Other than that they didn’t have as much variety and the food was placed in strange spots, it took me 5 minutes to find all the different kinds of rices because they weren’t in the same spot... it is expensive but I would come back again mainly for the crab legs and chocolate fountain. It was sort of dirty on the floors and the employees seemed sort of rude
Billy Sunshine
The buffet has a wide variety of selections and is great for the price. However they brought in some new cook at the Hibachi area who cooks the food so fast and it doesn't even taste good and it's not done or cooked to the standards of the original cooks. To make it so bad the new cook got mad when I asked the older/seasoned cooked to prepare my food. He almost got elected while campaigning for a azz kicking
Cheryl Sorenson
My husband has been telling me about this place for a while now. We're finally got a chance to go. This place led up and exceeding my expectations! The food was amazing. I was so full and happy when we left. Would definitely recommend and visit this place again!
Ashley Jannatpour
I am biased as I don't like anywhere South Minneapolis I just think it's a bad area. I laughed when I read the other reviews that the tips are a demanded, and it's true! I saw the couple next to me get up and the waitress demanded a tip before they left as there wasn't one left. Lol!!!! And I read a sign about paying more if you waste food. Just a weird, NOT welcoming environment.... Food is great, though all things aside though. I did notice they didn't have the green tea ice cream when I went there which was the entire reason I came so I was disappointed at that
LeShawn Burton
Great food large variety. I was looking for snow crab
Beth K
The Teppanyaki Grill is just kind of average in my opinion. Bigger isn't always better. Every time we go there it's a long wait. And it just seems like it's always chaos when we go. As far as food goes, their sushi tends to be too warm for my liking. The Mongolian BBQ often tastes not quite right because the chicken comes out hard (or hard to chew). And grill chef is never friendly, even though I always leave a tip for him. I like the ice cream bar, but seems like there are always kids at it making it messy so often I don't even get any ice cream due to the mess. Rest of their food is just kinda "eh," not great just ok.
Becky Elliott
It's a ton of food. They have finally started to include soft drinks with the price of the buffet. Minimum of $5 on a box to go can be a rip off, especially if you only want a tiny bit. (I work close by and sometimes just want a few wings for lunch). Other than that, it's always busy enough that the food is fresh and hot.

I really like the food here especially the soft shell crab. There is a lot of seating area. They have their own hibachi area. They have a very good seafood selection. I often go here with my family and sometimes by myself. The decor is very nice and there are many Buffet tables. Oh and they have real ice cream too.
Steven LaVigne
I live near this Teppanyaki and it's a nice, convenient place to eat. It fulfills my Sushi cravings and I love grazing and seeing what there is to eat. I love the stuffed mushrooms, the salmon and many other items. If I have any criticisms, I'm not fond of the baby Octopus, because it's too spicy for me, but I do love the squid. Keep up the marvelous work! Great food at a reasonable price!
Angeline Chang
This is a fun place that seems to transport you to a different world given its location in what some would call a "rough" neighborhood. It is hard to beat the price the restaurant charges for its buffet. If you seek gourmet food, this is not the place to go. The seafood is not fresh but I have not had any incidences of food poisoning. I would definitely go back because I enjoy the atmosphere and my gluttonous indulgences.
Jake Van Duyne
By far the largest Asian buffet I have been to. They have options on top of options, and for not a terrible price. They also have an option of getting food to go, and your price is based off of the total weight of your food. I like this option better because you can the make multiple meals out of the price of one meal. This is the top notch Asian buffet if you ask me
Ali Reimer
Friendly, attentive staff. Clean. Great variety and good flavor. The dessert was so-so, nothing unique, multiple varieties of the same things. Chinese donuts and hard ice cream were good. One of the better buffet experiences we've had in the metro area.
Jr
Pre-tipping makes no sense at all. Just raise your fee and give 15% to the staff. Pre-tipping isnt how you tip, unless you have esp crystal ball abilities.
Ted Ogden
Great food, clean environment, staff was great, sushi guy was very helpful and should get a raise explained everything perfectly. Drinks refilled as soon as they needed it and kids received balloons at end of meal. Price seems steep upon walking in the door but options are endless. If we are up this way again we will stop again!
Tiffany Hill
The food was fine, but the system between reserved tables and prepay needs to be fixed. Everyone in our party prepaid but only a few people got a special blue paper. So an employee came to our table harassing everyone for a paper that the employee at the pay counter failed to provide all of us. After having a personal talk in the corner with her, the situation was tamed. Please do better and converse with all staff before picking on a group that did nothing wrong.
Joaquin Muñoz
A 16.99 dinner buffet might seem expensive, but this place has everything! From sushi to grill and all of your favorite buffet staples. Dinner has a great selection of seafood, including crab, shrimp, fish and clams. Not to mention all of the deserts and the chocolate fountain! Great place, a wonderfully diverse mix of patrons, and great staff.
Veronica Soria
Food is usually good in this place. Today I was not satisfied.

Hadn't eaten all day and so I was starving by the time I got off work at 530PM. My co worker recommended this buffet and so we both went and wow I was blown away by their variety of both American and Asian dishes. Loved it all. The guy working by the grill was so funny, showing me all his grilling tricks. He definitely needs a raise.
What I didn't enjoy was our waitress. We sat at booth F6, don't know that waitress's name but short bangs, 5'3ish. We finished eating around 7:30pm and so me and my co worker were just chatting about life, work, etc. The waitress brought us our fortune cookies, and I know when they do that they know we are close to being done and are about to leave. My coworker and I continued talking till after 8ish, and the whole time we noticed the waitress would stand by the table about a few yards from us and lean against it and make really big 'sighs'. We felt like she was waiting for us to leave and was getting impatient. It certainly wasn't busy at all, so it wasn't like other people were waiting on our booth. My coworker and I were talking still and then she interrupted us from where she was standing and said, THANK YOU. I looked at her and she was staring right at us, as if she was really telling us - okay guys, cmon, go home. My coworker got irritated and so did I. This waitress was literally standing two tables away from our booth just looking and waiting for us to leave, we were so uncomfortable. Another one of the waitress walked by and they were talking and I heard her say, "these two are done eating but they won't leave. I dont understand why". Okay, I took mandarin in school for 8 years, i totally understood what she said to the other waitress. After hearing that I just decided to keep talking and make her wait longer. We continued talking still and then a few minutes later, the waitress did a big SIGH, again and walked over to our booth and said, CAN I GET NAPKIN BOX PLEASE, and pointed to the napkins on our table. I looked at it and it wasn't even empty, it was still pretty full. But I said sure, and gave it to her and she opened the top and forcefully stuffed more napkins in RIGHT IN FRONT of me and my coworker, interrupted us while we were in a middle of a conversation. I've never seen a waitress or waiter clean and refill items while we, the customers, were still there.
We eventually left and I still left her a good tip, but me coworker and I felt so uncomfortable with the vibe we were getting from our waitress.
But again, the food was bomb. Will be back to talk even longer (:
wilwithonel4
It was pretty good. Very good chicken, decorative atmosphere. The sushi was not great, but can't say I expected much more. Also, the fondue fountain could use more items than marshmallows and strawberries.
Christopher “Crypto Catcher” McManus
Ate here about a week back and I gotta say it's one of the best Chinese Buffets that I have eaten at ever. Very busy, and crowded but the food was fantastic. Waitress was cool and came by enough. Sushi was great...I gotta say it was really delicious so anybody who loves buffets and Chinese food I would say to give this place a try without listening to the negative reviews.
amanda rawnsley
Delicious food and lovely service!!! It was very affordable to purchase a takeout container and bring home the crab and sushi we didn’t want to waste as well. The sushi is also the best buffet sushi I’ve ever had and the crayfish(which I usually don’t like) are delicious!!!!
Patrick Wagner
Great selection of food. The servers will rudely remind you that a tip is not included and its posted everywhere. They also include group gratuities automatically and still get hounded to tip I will now purposefully leave a tip in Canadian currency.
Chad S
It has a really good variety of food from asian to american dishes so there is usually something for everyone. The food quality is okay I mean its a buffet so don't get your hopes up of having an amazing meal. Its a good hungover place to chill or just graze and catch up with friends. The parking kind of sucks though and it can get super packed.
Wayne Jensen
The food REALLY GOOD!
HOWEVER, the last few times a group of us have gone the noise level is Unacceptable.
Screaming children, children running wild, etc
We literally had to leave this evening because of a child screaming full volume next to our table. We asked the parents to quiet the child with no luck.
PLEASE PLACE CUSTOMERS WITH YOUNG CHILDREN IN A SPECIFIC SECTION!
PLEASE
Colleen Martin
It did not have ice cream that was one of the favorites and I'd like more vegetarian stuff otherwise a great experience great place to eat
Ryan Miller
This is a very large buffet and surprisingly clean. It is however in a very sketchy area of town where there is a lot of crime. The parking is free but the parking lot is not monitored well. When I was there someone car got broken into. The service is ok but I had to ask twice for a refill... I mean geez all the servers do there is refill and I couldnt get that. It's ok and in a pinch I would go there again.
MightyThor Xavier
great place, affodable, clean and friendly staff
Charles L
This place has a very good Asian buffet. For the type of venue the sushi is great. The buffet is well stocked and most dishes are very well prepared. The grill cooks, most of whom seem to speak Spanish, are friendly and do a nice job. The service is terrific.
April Kriedeman
It was the first time I had ever been there and I loved it! There's a huge selection of food. And at least everything I tried was very tasty. I would definitely suggest this restaurant to my friends and family.
msnatty14
When they say supreme buffet, they're not joking. Very good food, highly recommended. I gave it a 4 because they need to add more washrooms especially for that many customers they get. It was so crowded that the wait time was too long
Ray Ghant
Love this place!! By far the best buffet in Minneapolis in my opinion. Food is always hot and stocked. My only complaint is the guest that dont watch there small children and there running around the place unsupervised. But that's really not on the restuarant.
Chris Haroldson
If you're a fan of Old Country Buffet you'll be a fan of this place. The buffet food was barely tolerable - not a place I'll try again. It's too easy to find a better quality buffet than to try to endure this place again. My wife said the Hibachi grilled food was good but I was too nauseous by that point to try it. If you go, try the Hibachi I guess.
Rebecca Hill
The food is good but one of the waitresses chased down my friend before she could leave and demanded a tip.
Alicia Oconnor (Peris dolli)
I like the food here when it's fresh. The hibachi grill is delicious
Andy Hillestad
Best buffet in the area by far. Go there when you're really hungey, because it can be hard to justify $16/person if you only eat a plate or two full of food. The stir fry bar and the sushi bar are always delicious and two features I've never seen together anywhere else. Worth the money in my opinion.
Mike Hill
We are from out a town so I know food so far it's fresh and good and alot of choices. Sushi is great. As for service I have yet to see the complaints that I see in past reviews. Maybe those people who did co plain maybe they are not picking, like if ur eating pit and someone is keeping ur Sri k full and taking ur dirty area away with a smile maybe u should consider tipping them cause o
Wait staff does not even make close to what minimum wage is. As for the staff suggesting it and u see that as a problem maybe the problem is with you for failing to respect the staff for serving u and u tho king u deserve it. All in all great staff great food and i will be leaving Lily our waitress a tip for sure.
Cynde Larson
Food is passable, i get tired of servers asking for a tip.
Ursula Ayame (Thesecondkira)
The food was really good, and our group of people all loved what they got. The hidden charges for pop, and for "food waste" were frustrating. Especially when one of the people in our group got a stir fry which turned out being too salty, and when the waiter took the plate away none of us knew if we were going to get charged 15% for food waste or not. 😓
Parker Alton
My favorite Chinese buffet in the cities. There is a good balance between quality and quantity, and the selection is surprisingly good. It can be a little busy but it's worth it. A good treat every now and then. Parking can be crowded but not impossible.
Ally M
I don't like that you are forced to pre-pay now but other than that I usually go here for the Sushi Bar which is always fresh and delicious when I get there. I enjoy their fruit selection as well. We live a little far from here now but whenever we are in a sushi mood and are on a budget, this is our go to spot.
Andrew Krahn
Massive variety, as they claim, and good quality for a buffet in that price range. Sushi was surprisingly good (buffet sushi usually being a bit scary). Serves mostly American Chinese standards with a spot for pizza and the Teppanyaki Grill bring more unique (I didn't get to try the grill).
k fritz
I went there on Saturday Jan 20 with my husband and a 7-year-old son. We had a lovely time there. We were served by a pleasant helpful and friendly lady who brought the 2nd glass of drink to my kid when his glass ran dry and he kept on sucking ice cubes. I totally forgot to ask him if he wanted more drink. We didn't think she would be so thoughtful. I love the variety of the seafood here. I love fish and crustaceans which are never cheap, and they got it all. I took cod, salmon, shrimps, crayfish, crabs, mussels, flower clams etc. I didnt see squid or calamary but found salad made of tiny little octopus. Decent quality. Tasty cooked seafood and non-seafood dishes. I didn't like the sushi but Teppanyaki was tasty. Kid loves the food and the fun.
I saw some comments here and they are kinda preposterous. Customers need to be realistic. If you expect top notch fresh live seafood in a high-rent neighbourhood and high nose fell9w diners, you will need to pay more than $14.9. If you look for a variety of seafood, simple but tasty Asian and Western food, a kid-friendly environment with kids savory menu, plus cake and ice-cream, & an affordable bill then I think this place isn't bad at all. I will be back for more.
Sharon chang
The pot-roast is to die for. Full service desert and ice cream area. Many delicious choices. Bring your appetite. Don't be cheap, tip the hibachi guy cooking your food. Even if its only a few one dollar bills, he will remember you on your second trip and good karma is something you don't want to mess with when it comes to someone cooking your food. Overall a great buffet in a bad part of town. Lock your car.
A F
Amazing food, always hot and fresh! Great seafood section and hibachi grill. About 32 bucks for 2 people with drink included. Sooooooo worth it!! Pictured is the ginger crab, my personal fav! Cute chocolate fountain as well
Stephanie ZAMORANO
The Native American hostess was rude and slammed our forks down on table and then asked if we wanted drinks then walked away. But should have know she must have been in a bad mood because she had a scowl on her face. The other people were very nice to us. Then i noticed the same hostess seating a Hispanic family, she was nice and spoke Spanish to them. Bueno, ella deberia haber preguntado si yo tambien hablaba espanol. But anyways the grill cook was guapo and food was good.
Jerome Robertson
I'll keep this short and sweet. This is one of my favorite places to eat because of the variety and quality of the dishes. I recently see that they've added a small taco option which is really good! PLEASE KEEP TACOS, definitely a step in the right direction! Just need phõ and this place will be perfect!
Paul Bisping
The prices keep increasing because of the shortage of workers they have had part of there cook stations aka the sushi bar shutdown for along time and for an unknown time in the future
AZ Daily Editor Quispin Hoeks
This is the best Chinese buffet in the entire U.S.A. and I say that with some authority because I have been traveling the U.S. to write about cheap travel. Some of the American fare -- pizza and such -- is lacking but that is to be expected. They have Mongolian style beef, cooked to order as well. The prices are really fair, especially for lunch. They also have a really great ice cream buffet. Their sushi is also really good.
Most Chinese buffets have starchy food, the food here is fresh. If you are visiting Minneapolis and saying downtown or at Mall of America, this is right off the blue line.
If you eat here, you will see why my service doggie nickname for the place is 'exciting delicious.'
Paulette Kilgore
It was delicious.
Our server Eric kept the table clear of the old plates and kept our beverages full.
Only negative is the parking lot. Which they can't help, it was bad before they moved into the space.
Daysie Tucker
Food there is very delicious and a good variety of options. While I was on my out, I turned around because I forgot to leave a tip until a waiter approached me and asked if I was going to leave her a tip. I don't even think she served me ..
Gayle Astleford
Food is good but they are all over you about tipping. Not only do they have signs everywhere that tip isn't included it's also on the trays and the waitress points it out. I work in a service industry and always tip however it made me not want to.
Jade Stevensen
I am very disappointed. The food was great but the employees were nasty and rude not only did they eyeball you when we were done he goes "no tip?" We were going to go next door to the ATM and get cash for the tip but he was very rude so he did not get a tip.
Karen Guildry
It was an awesome awesome awesome outing I tell you I took and build my plate with plank steak beef broccoli scallions onions bell peppers jalapeno and Chinese noodles and the grillman added his Special Touch with the fresh garlic Cajun seasoned salt and pepper and he said some of his special ingredients and it was to die for now my dessert was fresh fruit I had some melon cantaloupe and oranges which was very delicious but I tell you this is a great restaurant buffet for the whole family thank you so much for serving us as you have in the past years great restaurant if I had to put it on a scale of 1 to 10 rectum scale there is no number it bust through the rectum scale
Brittany Anderson
$6.99+ drink $1.69 for lunch buffet. Everything appears really nice. Food is a little bland and most chicken products are a little hard. Its like a thin pice of chicken that gets cooked a little long or something. This place is not bad but I like the Hibachi better, more my style. O they also have baby octopus here at Teppanyaki.
Peter Gaard
One of the best Asian buffets in town. Tons of variety and seafood. Lots of unique things you won't see elsewhere. The grill option is also great, along with the sushi. Good desserts and real ice cream too.
Taejah Johnson
Love, Love, Love this place. Not only is the food amazing, but the customer service is spectacular. The restaurant manager actually comes around to make sure everything Is up to par. Absolutely phenomenal!
Kade Frazier
For what it is, this place is great. They have tons of variety. From fresh fruit, to sushi, to wantons, to fried rice, to salad, to pizza to a create-your-own stir fry. Honestly I mostly come here to eat fruit, (vegitarian) sushi and green tea ice cream and I get my money's worth ($9-13). However, if you want to eat real, authentic, and fresh Chinese food I wouldn't recommend any place that has a buffet. If you want to get sushi with good quality meat and seafood, I wouldn't recommend any place that has a buffet. If you want to have hot, delicious, and flavorful pizza... try Little Cesars next door.
YEEJ HEU
The food is actually good ..plenty of varieties....price is very affordable including drinks...cleaning dirties plates of the table was fast too....i would recommend to my friends...only $14.99 for dinner so its hard to beat....
Karen Wang
I liked it better than Panda Garden, but M said he wouldn't come back.
Typical Asian buffet style place with a combination of Asian dishes and American dishes. Nice selection of scoopable ice creams. And the added bonus of a sushi bar and a Mongolian grill noodle station.
Christian Martinez
This place is so yummmmy! I'm telling you guys this is way better than the other buffets in town and oh my gosh, they have a chocolate fountain! Yeah it's a must try. Happy eating!
Natasa Koscuk
Last Saturday around 4pm there were only 3 choices of ice cream. What happened to this place? I usually go to this buffet but the only acceptable desert is the ice cream, and it's my favorite part. At least half of it was missing.
The coconut chicken was really dry and had no flavor. Some of the dishes are simply not edible...
Better sushi overall than the Fridley teppanyaki (their sushi is always mushy and the ingredients are not fresh)
Not sure if I am nitpicking. I'll still give it 4 stars cause I'll mostly give it another chance.
Book Cop
Food is great and there are a lot of options to choose from. Sometimes there's a bit of a wait but you'd xpect that from a place near packed everyday with customers. All in all I'd say of your looking to get full and also would like quality with your food then this place is just for you
Anthony Ricci
Great food, and serve. Will be going heading back soon.
KAshley
It's a quaint little place that I usually go to for lunch. It's quite and the staff are nice, my only concern is the location isn't ideal. But overall, not bad! I love the sushi bar!
James Rudi
It's not to bad for a buffet .the food was actually pretty good. Three plates later and I was full as a tick Lol
B1G5L1M
Always a gastrointestinal disaster when I visit. Highly recommended if you're feeling backed up.
Pro tip: load up your plate and take it to the john with you, that way you don't have to listen to crying babies while you enjoy your general tso's chicken.
Would have been 5 stars except the hostess gave me hassle for trying to go for a swim in the koi pond.
Ilir Paloja
I have been here two times, food is really good. Costumer service is kind too. The thing about this place I like the most is you can choose raw ingredients to be cooked in front of you right there.
Sharon Bradley Couet
Any Chinese you like,or sushi, and crab legs, soups, chocolate fountain, and desserts, and real ice cream, not ice milk.My boyfriend and i,had our first date there. We celebrated our 6 month Anniversary there. They have American food,as well.Definitley, i would give this 5 plus. And the $12.99,is easy on the wallet.Free soda refill, which is nice.Top notch!!!💜
Rashaun Cooper
I love the food here. The employees that work here are truly truly hardworking people. I've never been the type to eat out much but Tepppanyaki Grill is most definitely the exception! It's super convenient as well too because I work next door at the Little Caesars! Whenever I wanna take my break I'll just step and step back in with takeout in 10 mins. The options of what to eat here is mind busting! Even got my pops to try it last week when I brought some home lol.
Awesome place to dine I'll say! ☆☆☆☆☆
[Mako]Mori
Today was our first time coming and the waiter was very nice and the food it great and so is the desert and they have a chocolate fountain were you can dip marshmallows and the pizza was the best and I am going again soon next week I enjoyed it!!!$
'Rei Steiner
Haven't ever personally had a bad experience here. Amazing food, tons of selection, the sushi alone is worth it. Would and have suggested to friends and family to go here. I only wish I wasn't trying to lose weight right now so I could justify going here more often.
Matt Janssen
Good stuff! Lots of variety for $11 + tax. They had Mongolian-style grill in the back, along with sushi chefs. The quality isn't perfect, but nothing tasted bad. I would go here again, with friends.
Felix Rodriguez
Variety and taste of food is great, servers are unprofessionals asking for more tip money when they think it's not enough. I will not go there again. Ignorant people, you get paid to work there so tips are extra and not an obligation .
Kelly Faulhaber
It was okay....they have a lot of options if you want more then Chinese food, but Chinese food options was the same if not less options then normal buffet price was a little high it's 1499 for dinner buffet with drink. I personally enjoyed there sushi a lot there teppanyaki grill was really good to but it took forever to get food. My party thought it wasn't worth the money it was meh.
Tanya Boettcher
Good selection of food. The majority of it seemed to be fresh.
The only thing I didn't care for is the parents just letting there kids run amuck. If your gunna be a parent, be a parent. It's a restaurant, not your house or a daycare. Control your young-Ins, respect those around you.
Alan Bastin
A Good variety of global flavors.
American, Mexican,Chinese, Italian, (to name a few), fresh sushi and a Mongolian BBQ as well. I recommend putting the steamed dumplings in a bowl of hot sour soup, keeps the dumplings nice and hot.
On the napkin dispensers on the table is a list of beverages, one being my favorite, ROOT BEAR. See photos I posted, it actually says Bear instead of Beer. Guess it passed the spellchecker. Bon appetite!
Shawn Clifford
Service completely depends on your waitress(waiter) the one we had was totally rude and seriously care about no one and hated her life. Wouldn't come back due to the staff. Good selection of food, though
Julie Yang
It’s a typical buffet. The sitting is pretty close and tight. If you need refills you have to catch the waitress attention and they can have an negative attitude or straight forward where you can get a negative impression. The food was okay.?
Sarah Zambrano
Crab legs, sushi, mussels—all of their seafood is fresh and delicious! And there are ample quantities. My daughter loves the chocolate fountain for dessert!
David H
A lot of variety and great tasting food. It can be really busy during rush hour, but that's when food is the most fresh. Great substitute for the other buffet that closed a block down.
Jaime Alvarado
This would be 5 stars if they're service was better, but its not. I still have to give credit where credit is due and their food is awesome. They have a wide variety of Chinese food, sushi, and even American food like pizza, fries, etc. What makes me frequent this location hands down is there Mongolian BBQ. It is amazing. I've been to Hu-Hut, which specializes in Mongolian BBQ and I have to say Tepanayakis Mongolian BBQ beats Hu Huts by a long shot. This place is almost always busy, and for a buffet that is great because that means there food hasn't been sitting long. Definitely a must for buffet lovers.
Cyril Zieglmeier
Good food, low prices and all you can eat
Paudeen Ostenson
Certainly not 5 star but good food and fairly priced. Really puts most other buffets to shame. Enjoy it much more than I ever liked Old Country Buffett.
charla scott
I love this place because it has such a big variety of food and desserts to choose from. The food is great and prices are low. Can't wait to go again!
Jaime Ojeda
Good food and the ice cream is great as well.
Aaron Cumbie
Been going here since it opened. Love the Fresh variety of foods. Staff is very friendly.
Tou Xiong
The food is great, but please train your staff to allow their customers to pay in discretion and not by hovering right above them when they are paying. It's like when u go to pay at a register and they ask you if you would like to tip, that's rude.
corey vener
My family and friend came here to eat.
The service was outstanding drinks stayed full. The food was an endless supply of savory delight. And we'll the grill and sushi bar, I really don't know where to start as I am speechless, it is out of this world..
Brad Lynch
Lots of variety, and of course the Mongolian grill with fresh food cooked the way you want it was fantastic. All you can eat for $10.99? Pretty good
sherry williams
Wonderful variety of food of all kinds the best tasting well worth the price had a wonderful time in grade service recommend just anybody who love us both Oriental regular food everything that was just fabulous and they kept their beverages field and took my plates this it was wonderful
ሐassen ሠaid
Huge buffet, a lot of seafood and sushi bar. The only problem is they charge 10 years olds as adults which I found strange. A lot of food choices and clean area. Not bad to go there a couple of times in a year.
hilobites
I took 3 people here to celebrate moving into a new apartment. I'd been to Teppanyaki a few times before, and the food quality had been stuck in a downward spiral, but I think I'm a generous man, not above a third chance, although the last time I was around, I dropped a few HP.
The waitresses were evidently very snide, but I couldn't tell what was being said because it was in Chinese, although there was more than one laugh while they were yelling across the rows, pointing at the expired chocolate milk they'd served me while they did.
All of the food my entire party "Sampled" was undercooked. The chicken was extremely reddish-pink in the middle, the rice was more like semi-softened Rice Krispies. The most I ended up eating was a piece of the sweet-then-incendiary Black Pepper Chicken, half a piece of hard Sesame chicken, and a few bites of their desserts.
The chocolate-coated cream puffs with whipped cream in the middle that I so enjoyed there had been replaced by a substance that my friend & I agreed had a lot of the qualities of Volcanic Rock, light enough to float but hard enough to be, well, a rock.
The bill came to roughly $44, and I was feeling chest pain. The sadness I felt for having given this a chance, or the thick grease that covered their chicken, I didn't want to stick around to find out. I offered to buy my 3 friends ice cream elsewhere before they finished so that I could hasten my retreat from depression & arterial clogging.
As we went up to pay, I began to describe my experience. The young girl working the cash register, with her glittery-pink worded hoodie, began quickly chittering in Chinese to the aforementioned snide waitress, completely ignoring all but around a minute of my plight, seemingly used to disgruntled customers.
Of a (Roughly) $44 bill, I managed to get "Half-off a meal" from the young Chinese girl's mile-a-minute run-on English. I had to ask her to start over & go more slowly, and I began to understand what she was saying as "You took too much food, we need money" with the first part being nearly 100% accurate.
Half off a $12.95 meal translated into about $5 off in their math. I walked out of Teppanyaki Buffet in Woodbury a sad man, $38 and change gone, realizing that I could have eaten much, much better at Outback Steakhouse, just a little bit farther into Woodbury near the Wal-Mart, for that $5 more.
Ana Soto
If you visit this place you must try the make your own plate at the grill bar it's awesome! I've been in many different buffets and by far this is one of my faves!! Don't forget to bring cash for tips tho..Lol
Forrester S
The food and the service was really good. It certainly had authentic Asiam food but they also have American dishes as well. It even had a fondue station! We would come back again.
Eileen Cortez
The food was delicious, the service was fantastic, the place was clean, health regulations against Covid-19 were met. Health and food safety standards were complied with.
James Condor
If your a big eater, and like chinese, this is the place for you. They don't load evereything with msg, and everything if fresh - for a buffet. I take family and friends here, and they love it too/ Nice people. Good food.
Minister Ermajean Myers
I had Mongolian dish that was very good-twice being here; one birthday and one meeting. Going again to Lake Street today. It is not gourmet but compares over other Buffets visited in Minneapolis. Service was very good for party of 8 and 18 respectively.
THERESA C (KARMIC STAR)
Good food, no wait, prices are reasonable, the atmosphere is friendly and food is fresh...this is a family environment in a busy area. GREAT FOOD w/different varieties and options...will come back..
Phil
I enjoyed the many times I dined at your fine grill and buffet at Hi-Lake. I miss the shopping center and all of it there. I hope for your return!
BrandonleeT S
If u go when they 1st open the food should b hot but it isn't. It's cold like it was made 30mins b4 opening & the warmers haven't heated up at all yet. Go about 2pm if u want hot food.
Chuck Radivojevic
I find myself at this buffet quite a bit, mostly because it's easy to get to but the food here is always fresh and the hong kong chicken and crayfish are my favorites. I love the salmon here too and the people are always so polite!
Fòòdi .
Lady only left me for about 25 minutes to eat and then took everything off the table like bro u kno ima get another plate
Albin Digital
Great buffet selection. Prices continue to rise so who knows where this venue ends up with my ratings. We enjoyed the hibachi grill and scoop your own specialty ice cream.
Scot Mahan-Miller
Great price for all you can eat. Good selection of dishes. See dishes do better at sitting out waiting to be picked then others, a good selection of sushi buy the rice gets dry sitting out.
Ana Karen
Great buffet. I’ve been going here since they first open, the food is very good.
Alfreda Boles
Great food, it's worth your money, I came in for take out. I will always come here because my friend Phil took me here so that's why I love coming also.

Although I am a little bit against buffets now because of food waste. This buffet is the best Asian buffet in the cities not because the food is stand out amazing or anything but the food variety is amazing.
They have everything from sushi, to hibachi, to lo mein, to pho (sometimes) and everything in between. I doubt you will find any authentic Asian food unless it is popular (so no kimchi).
It has a nice price point and clean restaurant.

When I tell you this is the Buffett for a king that's speaking litely. The variety of delicious foods will have you not wanting to leave the place. The hospitality is great by the waiter staff also.
London Morse
Really great food.
A bit understandable that if you waste food you need to pay a little more.
We Americans waste food on a daily basis and I really hate that, because of the fact that people in the third world countries are starving.

It's good food. Like any buffet, cross contamination is going to be an issue. Variety of Asian and American dishes, yummy very casual dining.

Go there if you are really hungry. They have plenty to fill your belly. Lots of variety to choose from. I usually go once in a while.
My son and wife like it much there. Not me.
I do not want to put on some more weight.

Great food every time

The food seems to have really gone downhill since the pandemic. Food didn't have a lot of flavor and was kinda lukewarm.
Christian Mvuyekure
Lots of food options at a reasonable price!
Kari Law
Near was a bit crazy, but food was good.
Antoine Thompson
My most favorite place to eat at all times you going on staff is friendly I hope that you see what you want to drink always on top of it and the food is always cuz every time never had a bad experience
Eve Xiong
A decent variety of different foods. However, the staff does not really offer refills and sometimes the food can lack flavor. Otherwise this place is alright!

Not so bad (to compare with Hibachi grill in Des Moines or China Buffet in Denver or Legend of Asia in Kansas City). Drink included. No miso sup. Opsss... Sushi by my reiting 4- (from 5star). Price $15 for adult (is normal), but $10 for kid 4y.o is expensive! Clean interior. But no any unusual dishes. All like the same.

Great food, ambience, & service. A great selection, as well as cooks who will grill your own favorite compilation of goodies! By far the BEST oriental buffet in the Twin Cities!

Delivers every time I go. Very good, I suggest making your own fried rice. Great selection and overall wait time is not so bad
Dennis Lehmann
I love this place!! food is always good and the grill is one of the best. always on top of clearing the table of excess dishes and keeping the drinks filled.
Audua Pugh
I love the Hong Kong Chicken! I don't, but do understand the price difference from during the week and weekends. I just wait until the week days to go. It doesn't makes sense to me to pay almost $5 more on the weekend.
Seahannah Smith
Very good food and service! Quite a variety. Seems like the "go to" food eatery as this place is ALWAYS crowded.
Meela Richardson
Nice Bigg Buffet It'll Be Better Of They Didn't Always Ask For A Tip After. So Be Ready

I have been coming here for lunch about once a month for over a year, I am always seated quickly, the servers are polite and there is always a good selection of food, and if you want you can go for the Mongolian option where you fill a bowl with what you want and they cook it right there in from of you in about 2 min.
Danielle Crawford
My brother took me here with his girlfriend the first time. I like This place. Variety is always nice. They have a sushi buffet too.
Yue Pheng Xiong
Unlimited all you can eat crab legs and craw fish, other food good too. 10/10 experience everytime.

I always have loved this place, today was really great! The waiter was on top of everything! If I had more money I world have tipped him more....
Mamie Tuma
Service was good, seated right away..... Food was not good.... Mushy, soggy, the sushi was soft, veggies in the sushi were old..... Like they had been sitting out all day!
Maya Thomas

Hannah Joy
Honestly my favorite Asian buffet. The service is good, the food is tasty and there's a nice selection. For the quality of the food I'd say the price is reasonable I suppose
Tracy Huben
I loved the variety! Was only bummed they didn't have the rice noodles to make pad thai at one in Mpls, but did in Fridley?
Misty Posey
Waiter was attentive! However they put out chuck roast and tell you its "Prime Rib". Salmon over cooked, dirty head-on shrimp and crab was overcooked.
Breanne Johnson-Bobolink
My daughter absolutely loves this restaurant as do I. The crawfish dinner is THEE best. The open grill is definitely the reason I keep coming back.
Jon B
Eat here every time we visit Minneapolis. Great buffet! More food than you could eat! *****
Drew Kamp
Alot to pick from, taste suffers as a result. Some servers will ask you to tip at the end which was weird.
Brandon Stutz
For the price, you can't seriously beat it. I don't know how these other people can just cry about it so easy. The food is always fresh, the sushi is alright and all that for under 20$ damn good deal.
Augustine A
Excellent service, scrumptious dishes, cozy seating...it fits the bill whether you're powering through a work lunch or enjoying a relaxing evening
Singing Soprano
Best Chinese buffet in town. They have everything from all you can eat cold starters, hot dishes including seafood, Mongolian and to top it off greatest sushi in MN.
Sy Xiong
Good place to dine in for lunch or dinner. Great selections of food to choose from. Parking could be crowded. The service is good.
