I had a half slab of ribs which comes with two sides I chose the collard greens and mac & cheese. I also ordered a side of beans, and banana pudding. My favorite things in order were 1. ribs 2. banana pudding 3. beans 4. collard greens 5. Mac & cheese The collard greens were just slightly too salty, and the Mac & cheese was almost too mushy (but not quite, definitely not gonna be able to reheat it later though). The ribs were tender, the sauce was great, the banana pudding was absolutely delicious, I loved that there were a couple of different types of beans in the side of beans and they were also sweet and delicious. The staff was super friendly and I really enjoyed the over all experience. I would go again for sure.

Story - This restaurant was started by two brothers who learned how to cook from their mother. Staff - Friendly and helpful. The register lady took a minute to explain the sauces to me. I removed one star due to a front line employee on his phone while wearing serving gloves. It did take a while for the food to come out but there was a large order right before I arrived (1pm). Food Brisket sandwich - The bun was buttery, toasted, and soft. The brisket was tender and lightly seasoned with a perfect amount of cap. It seemed a bit pricey for the amount but the quality was worth it. There are limited BBQ options in Minneapolis so I would expect to pay slightly more for this kind of meal. It was a bit dry for my liking but very tasty. Coleslaw - I’m not much in coleslaw but I thought this was creamy and mild. Sauce - The mild sauce flavor was warm, sweet, and not overpowering. The hot ($0.75 extra) was hotter than I expected and was not as sweet. Overall the food was tasty and the experience was a good one. Without a doubt the best BBQ brisket I have had in Minneapolis.

Soul to Soul Smokehouse is INCREDIBLE! Don’t show up unless you’ve got a monster appetite; the portions are HUGE! Pictured is the smoked turkey with gravy, the smoked mac and cheese, and the smokehouse beans. The food was prepped quickly and came out piping hot! The turkey has outstanding flavor- kissed by the smoke! The Mac and cheese was fair, but the beans had ground beef inside and was lip-smacking good! What a fantastic value and easily one of my favorite barbecue joints in the entire U.S. If you’ve never been, GO! If you’ve been, get back, Jack!

Perfect BBQ sandwich and a side of soul corn! It was my first visit to Soul to Soul. The scents and the energy of the staff warmed my winter weary soul before the food ever got close to my mouth. The brisket was so packed with flavor, perfectly moist, and on a toasted bun — no need to hide any of this under sauce! The soul corn, too — just delicious!

Soul To Soul Smokehouse @ the Midtown Global Market is AMAZING! I tried the Pork with two side and chose the roasted corn cobs and fresh made Mac -n-cheese. Wow…it was great! The pork, so Smokey, the Mac so cheesy and the corn so fresh. I can’t wait to come back and try their $35 one pound of meat and two large sides” Family meal because I know my child will love their Mac -n- Cheese and my husband will love their fresh roasted corn on the cob with “soul” dust. I’m thinking we will try the beef brisket. A welcomed addition to the midtown global market. Yummmmmm……

Good brisket, tender, but unfortunately had been sitting for a while so the lean part is a bit dry. The smokehouse beans are too sweet for me, but i can understand some would like it that way. Collard greens stole the show for me! Good service and well priced.

Had a massive order for the family and all of it was well received. Possibly the best fried chicken I’ve had in Minnesota. Mac and cheese, black eyed peas and fried shrimp were all superb. This was my first visit. Many more visits to come! Strongly recommend as a soul food option in a great central location at the Midtown Global Market.

My boyfriend has been looking for a restaurant with good soul food since he’s moved from New York and he’s finally found it after eating here. The food is delicious. The portions are pretty big so expect to take home some leftovers, which we ended up doing. We got the Brisket, Smoked Pork, and Rib Tips with a side sampler of 3 different sides: Mac & Cheese, Collard Greens and the Smokehouse Beans. The Brisket was cooked to perfection: the fat to meat ratio is ideal and is seasoned perfectly. The Smoked Pork just melted in my mouth. It paired well with the Collard Greens; the vinegary components of the greens compliment the savory pork. The star of the show for us was the Rib Tips. DO NOT SLEEP ON THE RIB TIPS! Yeah it might knock you out with food coma after but it’s worth every time wasted on your nap. The Rib Tips were juicy, flavorful and tender. If you love cartilage, this dish is for you. Makes me want to try the full slab of the ribs next time I visit. We paired all the meats with their hot bbq sauce with was chef’s kiss 🤌🏽✨. The Smokehouse beans were amazing and was our favorite side. The mac and cheese was very cheesy and creamy, while not being overly flavorful which balances out the other savory, smoky flavors. Soul to Soul Smokehouse is definitely our new favorite spot.

Soul to Soul was fantastic! I had the brisket and my wife had the catfish. Both were soft and super flavorful. The breading on the catfish was crunchy as well and the fries. The bourbon pecan cake is so good as well. Super recommend them to anyone who wants good meat!

I got the smoked pork, collard greens, and smokehouse beans this time. This place is my go to bbq in Minneapolis. I love that the beans have a few different kinds of bean in the baked beans, the different sizes and textures were nice. This is also the only place I’ve found so far that makes the kind of thicker smoky-sweet and spicy bbq sauce that I love. Most of the other bbq places I’ve tried have the thinner style of sauce more acid and spice.

My family and I dined at Soul to Soul Smokehouse on Wednesday the 18th and I have to say the food was PHENOMENAL. The fried and smoke chicken was moist and well seasoned, the beef brisket was very tender. All the sides (collard greens, mac and cheese, smoked beans and coleslaw) tasted like grandma's home-cooking and cant decide which one was the best. The only reason why I'm not giving a 5-star rating was because of the customer service I received. I was unaware of the entire staff going on break, so when I went to the counter to order additional food to-go I was quickly dismissed by the cashier saying “we're on break” in a tone that wasn't polite. I was disappointed because I came from out of town to SPECIFICALLY to try this restaurant. Furthermore, I would definitely return to this restaurant, and hopefully it will end up as a 5-star experience.

Masters of their craft. A soulful, gorgeous, caring presentation of some of the best smoked bbq I’ve had in years. As my husband & I sat and savored every bite, delighted by every meat, respecting each side’s complexity, we were amazed to be thanked for coming, on top of the whole vibe. With such a simple, well-curated menu; the owner said you can expect if you close your eyes & choose something you’ll get something you love. It’s clear how they create regulars & I saw that with my own eyes as person after person ordered up & likely 60% of them looked like they knew the menu & the team at the smokers. We will be back!

Surprisingly good, old school BBQ at Soul to Soul. Good pork ribs and brisket. Excellent fried chicken wings and all sides we had were very nice. It won’t win any “best of” awards, and the flavors obtained from commercial smokers may not satisfy purists, but the results speak for themselves: unfussy, classic bbq served indoors at very reasonable prices Which more often than not does the trick just fine. This is THE BEST BBQ! We picked up food here and did the family 3 meat combination. We got smoked turkey, brisket and ribs and they were each better than the last. Our sides were huge and the meat was a lot of each thing and very affordable. I highly recommend this restaurant and will be back. It is vastly better than Famous Dave's and the sauces were excellent too.

Got the brisket and fries, both are amazing. The brisket a Had more fat than what I've been used to but it added so much flavor. Their hand cut fries, are a lot like Five Guys Cajun fries, but much better. Definitely stop here if you're in the area and looking for some smoke house meats.

Delicious! The house BBQ sauce is spicy vinegar base which is awesome in a world with too many sickly sweet BBQs. Meat portions are a little small, but more than made up for by the large portions of sides. Everything was wonderfully prepared. Will definitely be back. (hopefully I'll leave enough room for one of the delicious sounding desserts next time)

I ate here yesterday and I haven't been able to stop thinking about it since! Soul to Soul is the best BBQ I have had in recent memory. I ordered smoked turkey with hot BBQ sauce, collard greens and smokehouse beans and the portion sizes I got could have easily fed two people, an incredible deal for $12! This place is well worth going out of your way for, do yourself a favor and try it.

Visited this place for the first time today. After placing our order, we waited for our food for about 15 minutes. I don't mind waiting because to me, that means my food is being freshly prepared but I know some people don't like to wait. We wanted to try a variety of things so we ordered the fried chicken wings, rib tips, catfish, Mac and cheese, and collard greens. The rib tips were delicious but everything else was mediocre. The catfish and Mac and cheese definitely needed more seasoning. The chicken wings were seasoned well but were a little watery. I think maybe that's because they're smoked? Overall I give it 3 stars for the lack of taste in most of the food. The service was friendly and I like that they are right next to a seating area so you can sit and eat your food.

A new BBQ place in the midtown global market that did not disappoint! The brisket sandwich is loaded with meat, the mild BBQ sauce is tasty, and the side of coleslaw brought the perfect balance. I went with a side of beans which was sweet and savory, which in my opinion is just as they should be. If that wasn't enough the staff was friendly, welcoming, and a great reminder of why I love the community in Minneapolis.

Honestly the best food in this area. If you don't stop here at least once while visiting or living nearby, you're doing yourself a disservice. Everything we ordered was moist, smokey, and had incredible depth of flavor. The smoked pork sandwhich was tender, rich, and the bun was soft with crispy, grilled bottom. I cannot recommend this place enough. To top it all off, the customer service is so lovely. Smiles from start to finish, and the chef was out and about talking to everyone. Just a great community feel.

Outrageously good food here. The smoked mac and cheese was some of the best I've had, but the pork rib tips were my favorite. One of the owners, Anthony, came out to ask us how our food was and was super friendly. Not to mention the location next to the brewery makes it easy to grab a beer with your meats. Great service and really delicious food! We got the turkey sandwich, mac and cheese, beans, and roast corn. The employee gave great advice on what she likes and how she likes to eat the food. The hot sauce was still a little mild, but still really tasty with the meat and cole slaw and gravy.

This was my second visit here. I met one of the owners, Anthony and he is the nicest person you could meet. I had the millionaire wings, smokehouse beans, and collard greens. The food is always well prepared, hot and don't forget "delicious." The staff is very friendly and professional. The five star reviews you're seeing from others are 100% accurate. This is some of the best BBQ I've had, beating out professionals from KC and Texas. You owe it yourself to give Soul To Soul a try if you like BBQ, because their ribs were amazing, their brisket was on point, and the turkey we had was perfect (don't skip the homemade gravy). Everything we had was fresh, delicious, and made with care. I don't think this place will be here for long, because it's the kind of location that does well enough to be the next big thing with their own storefront. Get out there and give them a try! Located inside the Midtown Market in the SouthEast corner right by the brewery. Lots of parking in the very affordable ramp to the east.

I grew up in the south and it's hard to find really good BBQ. I had brisket and smoked turkey. Both were so tender and moist. The collard greens are perfect; not over cooked but still a little bite to them. I got the spicy BBQ sauce and it went perfect with everything. I'll be back!

Everything was so delicious! Pork tips and brisket was outstanding. Brisket was super tender, fall apart and smoky. Pork tips were caramelized and juicy. Also got the beans and collared greens which were both delicious. Sweet potato ice cream was unlike anything I’ve had before and might be my new favorite ice cream! We also tried the pecan bourbon cake which was also great. People working were super friendly- everything is hand made and not pre packaged. Couldn’t say enough good things about this place! Me and my Mother ordered lunch (curbside pickup), which was ready when they said it would be! I ordered the two meat combo (ribs, smoked 1/4 dark chicken) with the mac n cheese and soul fries. My Mom had the brisket sandwich with black eyed peas (turkey meat in it) and coleslaw. I am picky about my bbq! This place is going to last a very long time as long as they continue with the quality of food and the customer service! They deserve TEN + stars!! Keep up the good work! We will be back!! Very friendly staff and owner. I had the beef brisket along with corn on the cob (southern corn) smoked Mac n cheese and it was the best meal ever! I even decided to buy a 9 piece chicken wing to take home and that was super delicious. A must try hidden gem !

You want Soul food? You need to come here! It was my first visit and I got the brisket. The BEST brisket I have ever had!! And tocompliment it, I was blown away by the smoked MacNCheese and the Greens. The Mac was so cheesy it had you smacking your lips and the greens had so much flavor and nice junks of bacon. Not bitter. Can't wait to come back and try all the other meats.

I'm always down to try a new barbecue spot, but here in MSP often disappointed. Not the case at Soul to Soul. I got a half smoked chicken with hot bbq sauce. The chicken adhered to the bone just enough not to fall apart but melted like butter one I took a bite. The sauce, while not hot, had a satisfying twang that almost made my mouth pucker slightly. If I had any complaint, I would say more salt/seasoning in the collard greens, which were still delightful. I will for sure be back!

An amazing smokehouse located in the global market what used to be the old Sears building on Lake st. If you want amazing smoked food this place is a must its easily the best smokehouse the Twin Cities. Thier brisket is superb and they also have fast and friendly service.

All smiles from the staff the owner even came out and was talkative and friendly. the food smelled super delicious and looked good as well I ended up ordering the catfish meal and the size of the fish blew my mind and of course the taste was on point. Located right inside the Global market in south Minneapolis off Lake Street. Needless to say I will definitely be returning very soon. (Service with a real smile)
