Reviews of Sawatdee Thai Restaurant - Minneapolis

This was my third time trying their food and it was about to be the last one but I changed my mind. It was absolutely delicious.
My husband always orders fried rice with the spiciness level of 1 out of 5. I must say that the rice has never really hit the spot, it’s tasteless but my husband enjoys it.
So this time I ordered the Pad Thai (spiciness 3) and it was just perfect! I cannot say anything bad about it.
Also my husband said it was the best pad Thai he’d has in the twin cities.
Service was good and our waitress was so kind!
5 stars based on their pad Thai.

Good Thai place in downtown east Minneapolis. They have some vegan options, but you need to ask the server for details as it isn’t marked. They are able to do most of the noodle and fried rice dishes vegan. I got the Summer Pad Thai with fried tofu. It was pretty good, although a little lacking in flavor. I also got the fried veggie spring rolls, which are very big for spring rolls. They were good as well. My biggest pet peeve is that the curry dishes all have fish paste so they cannot be made vegan, but otherwise there was definitely options.we dined in and it was a bit quiet and unlively. I’d recommend this place for a quick Thai takeaway.

My son moved downtown Minneapolis and had never had Thai food out, so we splurged on takeout from Sawatdee. The person who took our order said was super-nice and food was ready timely. We are spice lovers but were conservative with our levels at 2-3 and the dishes were perfect for us. We had the catfish and a traditional red chicken curry, both excellent. The appetizer plate for two was mostly good as well, but wished the sarongs were not quite as dry as they were. Overall, we’ll be going back and already planned what we want to get next time!

The food and drinks were tasty, but we were hoping to see more vegan options. Our server seemed uncertain about what could be made vegan. We think the masaman curry, fried vegetarian spring rolls and pad see ew are vegan… but not 100% certain. The robot ‘server’ is adorable!

I enjoyed Sawatdee on a Monday for a late lunch. It was a great time to go, it was not busy and the server was very efficient, friendly and made sure I had everything I needed for the entire duration of my stay. I ordered chicken Pad Thai with a spiciness level of 4 out of 5. The Pad Thai was excellent and a generous portion as you would normally expect. The flavors were on point and the ingredients all seemed very fresh. My only complaint was that it just didn't seem very spicy at all to me, but food has to be pretty dang spicy to suit my tastes. I also had an order of Sue's Egg Rolls as an appetizer. If I've ever had better egg rolls, I have no idea when or where it would've been. These rolls were big, crunchy, and filled with tender-crisp cabbage and other fresh ingredients. I was saddened to find out that they don't have spicy mustard. But it didn't take long to forget all about that, as these yummy egg rolls stood on their own and didn't need my help with any spicy mustard. Go to Sawatdee when you're in the area. Trust me.

Loved the food. It felt very authentic. The spicy levels were quite accurate for me but off for others. This place held our party of 22 people and everyone had a great time. I ordered Uber eats for lunch on another day too. It was still good. I recommend this place.

We were downtown getting ready to have graduation pictures taken for my son and found this place. It was very good and the wait staff did a fantastic job. I ate the Red Curry with chicken and it was delicious. I highly recommend this restaurant.

Our group all enjoyed our food. Pad see yew, red curry and Panang curry. The service was a bit slow at first, no doubt owing to the difficulty many places are having right now being staffed up. Not a big deal, and once we ordered, the food came quickly and tasted great.
