Every time I go to Minneapolis with my friend, he makes me stop at Pappy's for an Italian beef! He's hooked on them. Next time, I'm going to try a Philly since my friend's sandwiches are ALWAYS stuffed with meat hanging over the edges! This last time we stopped, people were trying to find parking just to get their fix of Pappy's. Apparently everyone loves them!!

Catfish Catfish Catfish... omg their Catfish.. don't careCatfish! Catfish nuggets.. ugh too slimy but the 5 piece dinner feeds me & my husband.. and the filets are so juicy and moist. The seasoning can't be beat.. I've tried everywhere and would rather drive across town to go to this spot to get my catfish!

Only reason i didnt give 5 stars ( actually changed to 5 five stars, felt guilty because this is like back home to me in florida) is because of limited parking and its a little cramped, but for a small place their food, she is on point. Catfish sandwhich all day. Called ahead, she took my order, showed up, took it and ate at work. No complaints

Today is June 16th 2022 Not even twenty minutes ago I just left! I promise you they got the best double gyro cheeseburger that I have ever tasted in Minnesota! And I have ate at many places and they don't compare to Pappy's!!!!

Phylli Cheesesteak Pros: Freshly made. Meat is tender and very juicy. Reasonably priced. Cons: Bread is abnormally large. Bread to ingredients ratio is too low. Most of the time I was just chewing on the bread. If I am looking for protein dinner this place is not it.

They used to be really good, I don't know what happened, their beef didn't taste the same as when I was there last and the price for the money soared! Not worth the money. After repeating the order twice they still got it wrong. I wouldn't suggest this place anymore unless you were getting the hotdog special(it's the only thing worth it).

Look, if you want simple, tasty food and not an outrageous bill, this is the place. Their chicken tenders are always crispy but juicy. I love their gyros. Their regular fries are delicious (they season them) but they'll also let you upgrade to crispy, amazing waffle fries (the kind other places serve as a stand alone $8 appetizer). Their catfish is also super tender, and whatever tartar sauce they serve with it is light and tasty. Also, the staff is always friendly and fun!

Got the Philly Steak combo this time and it was delicious but they could have added a bit more meat. It looked nothing like the picture. I was better off getting their Italian Beef sandwich. Went back today and got my free Philly Steak Sandwich and it was better than yesterday! Thank you Alex ❤

I had intended to try Pappy’s for months but then all the COVID mess happened. Finally I went tonight and I really enjoyed my food. The gyros platter was generous and very tasty. The gyros meat was tender, moist and cooked perfect. The skin-on fries were delicious. The generous portion of two pita rounds was grilled up just right! The food was packaged up nicely with a separate container for the lettuce, onions and tomatoes (for the sandwich). Service was fast. I’ll be back to try some of the fish items and the wings. Thanks for a great supper!

Love the food especially the potato wedges! They are hard to find at these restaurants. I would pass on the soda as the last couple times I went it seemed like there was something wrong with the machine (dirty)or they just aren't letting enough syrup through so they were all flat and nasty. I asked them to fix it with no change so taste it before you leave!!

I stopped by here for lunch today and had a great Italian beef dipped with fries that was amazing. So juicy and full of flavor, great fast service and great prices. I'm from IL and if you want a little taste of home, this place is a gem. Highly recommend.

You know, I live in the area and the sign says they serve breakfast at 8am every day. I am by there today after 8 and think it would be great. They aren't open. No signage except the '8am every day'. On the web it says 9am. This doesn't help me. Get it together, guys. This isn't my first time here. On previous occasions, the food was good enough. Greasy spoon diner fare. Nothing exceptional. Would recommend for breakfast... if you don't need to eat before work, for most.

I had ordered three 6 in Italian beef sandwiches, light dip, add cheese, and peppers on the side, one of those was a meal with fries and a medium drink. For everything the cost was about $25.00 for my family for lunch. The taste of the food is great. The inside of the restaurant is small there is space for about 6 booths worth of people. I waited 20 min before I was called by my ticket number to pickup my order, a little longer than I expected. There is not much space to wait for your order, you either can take a seat in a booth or go outside to wait for your order. Overall a great place for authentic Chicago style Italian Beef sandwiches and fries. Just be prepared to wait a little bit longer for your order.

This is a take out spot, do not attempt to eat in if you want a peaceful scenic experience. Its cramped, dingy and the traffic coming and going is not pleasant (to say the least). However it is one of the better options for Chicago Style food in the area. The quality of the food is generally fresh which is important for seafood which they serve a lot of. I give them 3 stars because depending on the staff things can go really wrong or well. It's best on the weekends and evenings.

For fast-food its great!! The Catfish, Chicken Wings, and the Gyro are my favorite! F.Y.I. Just make sure to clarify your order and check to make sure you have your full order because it can get EXTREMELY busy at times. The location is a little questionable. Definitely give them a try!

Good, local eatery. I stopped by their restaurant, because I really love Chicago style food, 2nd only to Detroit food (sorry). The food was reasonably priced, no frills, and I got exactly what I paid for. Who could ask for anything more? I would recommend this restaurant to all of my closest friends. Pros: Great prices, good portions, good gyro meat. They are generous with the gyro meat, the fries and the service is good. Many gyro places skim you on the portion sizes, I like to have a big hearty gyro, Pappy's does that for you. Cons: The sauce is a little above average but could be a lot better - base is heavily reliant on sour cream. Would like to see a more unique cucumber sauce. Ordered: Gyro, fries, pepsi

Amazing Philly cheesesteak sandwiches. I often get one of those along with a drink and some hush puppies instead of the fries. They come with a side of marinara sauce. It is authentic Chicago style food. Love this place

Staying downtown just started driving to find something and came across this little restaurant. Had never heard of it so I thought I would try it out and so happy I did. We ordered the chicken wing combo, gyro combo, and cheese burger combo....alll were great. The wings were seasons well(a little small) but cooked right. They give you whole wings. The gyro was well seasoned and tasted like I anticipated. Was packed full of meat, they didn't skim at all. The cheese burger was huge toppings on point a little messy but I like that . Portions were large none of us could finish. We took ours to go...tables a little sticky, but I will visit again.

Until recently they were a cash only FYI. I think they'll accept cards now but I wouldn't rely on it. Homestyle Cooking adequate portions low prices great portions everything is fresh.On Saturdays I like their biscuts and gravy better than anyone else. They are a breakfast and lunch establishment I'm not sure how late they stay open but they also do have a superb lunch. They are home fries are sliced potatoes that are pan fried to a brown s they're better I think than the hash browns.

This place is a solid choice when you are hangry. I went with 3 friends and 3/4 couldn't finish the lunch special. Food is really good too. I always stop by when I'm in the neighborhood.

Good food. But service is bad. Some days I will order ahead of time due to the fact I'm working and only have 1/2 hour lunch. Either no one answers the phone or they tell you ten minutes and you show up and wait on the 10. Don't get me wrong food is GOOD.

This place is a hidden gem. DELICIOUS fries and gyros! The parking lot is extremely small—only 3 parking spots in the lot. If there's more than a couple customers there and it's full, you may park on the street.
