I ordered the seafood boil with cajun seasoning and medium spiciness. Just enough spice to kick up the seasoning for me. For $50 this was worth it! The sauce was delicious and had to dip all my seafood into it every time I took a bite. The squid salad however I don't feel like it was worth $20. It was good and good for an experience but I wouldn't get it again. Not enough and the squid seems like the kind you would get frozen at the store. However this was my own expectation and still think for the taste it's worth a try.

The food was fresh, flavorful, and delicious. We had plenty of options to choose from on the menu. I tend to be a stickler on good customer service and they exceeded my expectations. The woman who took our order was very patient, polite and she even let us try a couple of their sauces so we could pick the one we liked best. The wait staff were also very kind and made sure we had everything we needed. The restaurant itself was warm, cozy, and clean with nice music in the background. We will definitely be back!

Having been to many of the Seafood Boil resturants in the Twin Cities King Cajun definitely finds itself highly rated on the list! The quality and quantity of seafood for the price is on point the seafood was perfectly cooked the snow crab was easy to crack and the meat was super tender and flavorful. They offer a wide array of sauces, we tried the King Cajun, which is a mix of all the sauces together and had a great amount of flavor going on. The potatoes, corn and sausage were all tasty and well cooked. While they might not be the cheapest Boil spot around you certainly get what you paid for at King Cajun. We will be back ready to stuff ourselves with more delicious seafood!

I've been to this specific Seafood Boil location 4X and I've never been disappointed nor dissatisfied with either their food and service. This past Saturday was the first time that my hubby ate here and it my first time actually dinning in. My dinning in experience was A1 not just because of the food but because the service was phenomenal👌🏽💯 They forgot to add a few items to my hubby seafood boil but they were on top of the mistake and even gave him extra shrimp and let us grab another drink. You can tell that they actually care about making their customers happy and satisfied. Would we eat here again?? Most definitely!!! Food is always on 🔥🔥!!!

Best cajun restaurant ever!!!! Taste is very good and price is also worth. There are some trendy Vietnamese food style which is very delicious and special. 5 stars for everything here including service. I really recommend to come and try it. Awesome!!!

King Cajun is the place if you’re craving seafood! The establishment was clean and we appreciated the help yourself station for anything you’d need for a great boil experience. You’ll find tons of great options on the menu - however it is a bit pricier than other seafood boil places. Staff was friendly and service was fast. We look forward to dining here again!

Although it was quite busy and the cashier was having a bit of trouble getting our order, the food absolutely makes it worth it. Delicious crawfish and tamarind crab. Highly recommend. The owner was very kind and hospitable as well and spoke to us briefly asking if we enjoyed our food. Overall great experience.

We went with the lobster fries and the Meal 3. Prices seemed pretty reasonable considering the current prices of seafood. The lobster fries were pretty addicting. Some lobster was a bit chewy and slightly overcooked and other pieces were perfectly cooked and delicious. The same went with some of the shrimp. There were some small cooking inconsistencies but it wasn't a huge deal. The crab was excellent and I used the liquid at the bottom of the bowl as a dipping sauce. The corn, meat, and potatoes were all tasty too and absorbed flavors from what they were cooked in. It wasn't too spicy and I felt that everything was seasoned pretty good. I really liked that they had plastic gloves and bibs for eating since this made for a much cleaner eating experience because this can get messy. The scissors were also a perfect tool to have for the crab. I feel like scissors are under utilized when it comes to crab and they are ten times better than a cracker. It started to get pretty busy when we were leaving so it seems like it is a fairly popular spot!

Food is decent! Food taste different from the franchises in the south..always super busy it's a little pricey but the customer service is good, check your food tho.. you might get extras or get somebody else food!

This place has me thinking about their food weeks after eating here. If you want to try some of the best Cajun food anywhere, not in Minnesota, anywhere! Then Cajun King is your spot. Great prices and amazing food. They offer sit down, take out, and catering. Seriously what are you waiting for? Go try them!

Friendly staffs and clean tables. The establishment is alittle cramp on busy times but the food is worth it. Gotta get the house sauce with your seafood. We got the combo3 for $99 which is a great deal. We also got the calamari.

As a Southern Californian living in the Midwest, I missed Boiling Crab/Kicking Crab/cajun-style seafood and I can honestly this is what I was looking for. We stumbled on this place as we were driving by and I'm so glad we did, Thein and his brother are doing things right. 200% recommend! Spice levels on the King Cajun sauce are spot on, even as the sauce gets spicier it's full of flavor not just spicy. I eat a lot of spice so we got Hot and that had an after kick of spice not too bad, second order we got side of Super Hot sauce and that was make ur lips red/breathe through your mouth spicy but still SUPER tasty. Shrimp is cooked well, not mushy, not overcooked, Dungeness Crab portion was generous and delicious. Corn was fresh, and andouille sausage was flavorful! Staff is super attentive, they diligently spend down time deep cleaning empty tables, condiments, even wiping down the walls. Overall, will definitely be back and recommend you check it out!

Ordered half lb of followng- shrimp, craw, and mussels, all with chefs special sauce at spiciest level. Perfectly cooked, good portion, and flavorful sauce but barely any spice. Possible mix up in kitchen? Tilapia basket with fries- huge portion of fish and lots of crunchy fries. Staff welcoming, friendly, and helpful as it was 1st time for us. Clean modern interior. Would return, hopefully can taste more spice next time.

The in-laws recommended this place as it was suppose to be similar to the one I tried before and liked. Went in, recieved water and menu, chose what I wanted (Daily Meal Combo 1 (1 cluster of crab legs, 1/2lb of shell on shrimp with head, 1 small lobster, 1lb green mussels, 1/2lb of crawfish) with King Cajun sauce and medium heat). Ordered at the front. Food got to the table, honestly not as well seasoned as other cajun places I have tasted. The sauce cooled off quicker than others. Was suppose to get 1lb of green mussels and was met with three mussels and a empty shell. Even though it's not crayfish season they were pretty decent size and cleaned. Overall the place was not too bad.

This was some of the best seafood and cajun my hubby and I have everrrr had. We got some snow crab, lobster tails and lobster fries.The food is just BURSTING with flavor!!! The sauce that they put on the food is straight up addicting any you end up dunking every bite in it. Fresh, delicious and unforgettable. Also, if you're wondering if you should get the lobster fries the answer is YES!!! The service was incredible, the staff was so happy to make sure your experience was wonderfu. As we were waiting for our food we talked about how everyone around us looked like the were enjoying their food so much. Well, its because they WERE!!! Lol. Can't wait to go back and bring others with us!!!

The flavors and spiciness of the food were absolutely amazing. I got the extra hot! Get white rice and mix it with the extra hot juice. Amazing!!! The meal came with a soda drink. The Cajun fries super yummy and crispy.

We came here one night for a family dinner because we had heard of this place from a couple other people. The restaurant is pretty clean and nice inside, and they let us seat ourselves. We received the menu and to my surprise they had quite a bit of options for you to choose from catfish, chicken wings, to a whole family dinner platter. We ended up ordering the family dinner with lobster fries and rice. The food was very tasty and we ordered it spicy on their spicy scale. The platter was said to feed about 4-6 people but we had leftovers and we were 7. Just an FYI their spiciest level of food is indeed very very spicy! The platter came with crab, potatoes, shrimp, and a few other items. Overall, it was a great experience and we will for sure be returning!

Food was overpriced.1/3 of a corn cob was a dollar each, like what. The crawfish was so bland and it seems like they were being too cheap to give us any of the seasoning sauce. Probably one of the worst crawfish place I had in MN. That being said, their lobster fries was bomb.

The food was delicious and it made us full and a little to much garlic but other than that the food was delicious and worth the Drive We will be coming back again. If your interested in trying new things this is the right place. The man was super nice to us. They even had kids meals for little kids. He was friendly to all of us and kept checking on us to see if the food was good and there bathroom was clean.

Tried it to tonight for first time! Got 4 clusters of snow crab, lb of shrimp and lb of crawfish in hiuse sauce! $100 bucks for all of that! It was so good, crab were perfectly sized, shrimp were good and few huge crawfish! It was smaller then expected inside but very clean, modern, spacious! Service was good! Will be back!

Self serve restaurant, very clean. Our food came out within 5 to 10 minutes. The lobster fries are epic, I loved the seasoning and it had alot of lobster chunks in there.

Went in for my daughter's birthday. Unfortunately my food had an off taste to it and I could not finish it our potatoes were undercooked as well. My daughter spoke with an employee who fixed this right away. They were satisfied and I was not (I was the one paying) machines were down and they were only taking cash. For myself I'd give 2 stars just a sad experience because any other time it's good!!

Great delivery packaging with DoorDash. 4clusters snow crab, 4lbs shrimp, 2lbs mussels & 4lbs clams. Total $261 plus delivery with dash pass $274. Flavor was great, plentiful for party of 10. Only thing I will add is if you add clams maybe tell them to put in separate bag because they are so little that the meat falls out of the shell and into the sauce. Overall a great choice for catering seafood for small family gathering. Definitely will order again.

The customer service is really great. The young lady at the register explained the menu before we could get the question out and also recommended certain meals and combos. Overall the food was really good. I felt like my clams and mussels were undercooked and they took everything back and remade it without question. The manager even explained why I may have felt the way I did. This will definitely be our new boil spot.

We were so impressed with King Cajun! The menu had many options with different portion size options on some. The value was incredible for the quality of the food, it was DELICIOUS! I got a Cajun fried and a combo (the combo is only available from Mon-Thur). The portion size is OK, but they don’t have corn and potatoes as the other Cajun restaurants, which is a bit surprising. We ordered the Chefs Special and it was good. I like that we got jumbo size crawfishes and mussels. The customer service can be more consistent. The first time we came, a small little girl with blonde hair helped us for the menu and food and got us the spoons, forks, plates and gloves for us. She was very friendly and nice and we really like her. This time, a girl with curly hair served us but she kinda quiet and just showed us where to get the utensils ourselves even the store was not busy at this time, make it feel like the tip paying upfront was not worth it.

Well priced and great flavors available. We ordered two pounds of shrimp along with sausage and had it spicy. They owner was great and too real good care of us and had great dialogue in regards to other restaurants in the area. Place was constantly busy as we were there so that should tell you something. Again the price was right on and for that you can't go wrong costing this place. Amazing food at a great price.

This is my all time fav place to eat out at! I drive almost an hour in traffic for this place. Prices are reasonable and the quality is always superior! It’s hard to find a good Cajun boil in MN. So happy I found this place. We always get 2 snow crab clusters, shrimp, sausage, and extra potatoes and corn. The House Mix - medium sauce is PERFECTION! It’s a small place, but no matter what time we come we always manage to get a parking spot and a table without waiting. You order at the counter and food comes quickly. Very easy to take extras to go as well. I highly recommend!!! Updates: Now we get spicy/extra spicy because we loveeeee heat medium seems mildish now. They now have King Crab and it is so worth the higher price! The meat is incomparable! *important* They are opening a bigger better location and I cannot wait for that to happen! We were 5 of us and 4 out the 5 were people who were really craving seafood after a recent visit to New Orleans. In total, we had 3 pounds of crawfish and a pound of shrimp. For the seasoning, we chose the house mix for our crawfish and went all spicy while we chose medium spicy and the garlic butter for the shrimp. Each pound of any order comes with 1 potato and 1 corn. We went all out and added extra orders of rice to not waste the seasoning sauce. Overall, the food was really good!!! It was slightly more pricey than a regular lunch but that is to be expected with seafood. We are already looking forward to our next visit. Highly recommend for seafood lovers!

I'm from Rochester NY & this place beats all our seafood spots. Service was amazing! Food was beyond amazing and we were served quickly. My mom has a allergy to red potatoes and the staff were more than considerate to make sure her food hadn't mixed with anything else. If you love spice I definitely recommend getting the spicy level but if you like to challenge your taste buds get extra spicy and that made my sister type out and she is the master of spice. Pricing was so affordable for the amount of food you get it's like it's never ending in those dishes. 5 star spot & I will definitely return any time I'm in town.

Smaller seafood place, partial table service (you go to the front to order and prepay) our server assisted with drinks, no fountain soda though. Seafood was bomb, I ordered king crab, snow crab, Jonah crab, and shrimp. You also get corn and potatoes with every pound. The King Cajun sauce is flavorful and you get A LOT of it for dipping. We saw this place on Tik Tok and checked it out. Our server said they blew up with business since tik tok and they are grateful bc they are a small family owned/operated business. We have ventured to many seafood boil restaurants around the metro and this one is definitely in our top 5.

My go to place to go eat seafood!!! Highly recommended for people who are trying seafood boil for the first time. One of my personal favorite is the snow crabs and their head-on shrimps. Great staffs and service! Will be seeing them again in the future. Best serve hot and fresh!!!

I am from NYC and I have been to a few seafood boil restaurants out there. My mom loves seafood so I wanted to find a good option for her in Minnesota. My parents, sister and I arrived from Shakopee around 2 pm and were pretty much the first guests there. From the start the service was great. We were received with a warm welcome and the menu was explained to us. We were also given good suggestions on items. We had to order from the counter and food would be brought to us later which I wasn't used to but no big deal. We ordered a lb of crawfish, snow crab legs, shrimp and added andouille sausage. The order included potatoes and corn. We also ordered two shrimp sandwiches and fries. While we waited for the order we were given bibs and silverware. This place is straight to the point; order your food, non alcoholic drink and dig in. My family and I loved it all. We finished everything as it was savory, fresh, hot and delicious. The only item that was not on the menu that we were looking for was bread which we wanted to soak up the remaining of house mix sauce. Luckily we were able to order a couple of toasted sandwich buns and that did the job we were looking for just fine. As we were done with our meal more guests arrived and everyone seemed to enjoy their food choices. As my sister would say 10 out of 10 recommend!

Seafood boil LOOKS delicious, definitely isn't as good as it looks. NOT SAYING ITS GROSS OR ANYTHING. ive just had better! the sauce is nice and thick what i like, it just lacks flavor. I always order a low heat, as nothing or mild and it is just always spicy.

A friend and I were driving down University Ave and we saw the signage of King Cajun. It beckoned us in like a Siren's song. We were so glad that we stopped by. I wasn't too sure what to order, but one of the friendly staff members made a great selection of shrimp, potatoes, corn on the cob, and crab legs. All was served with a spicy garlic butter. It was heavenly tasting. I will be back for sure with a group of friends, but if I bring a total of five or more people I will call ahead with reservations, as suggested by the restaurant. This place is so amazing. Bring the kids...

This place was my first seafood boil experience and it was amazing! We did the family special that was $200 and fed about 4-7 people. It came with corn, potatoes, peeled and unpeeled shrimp, crab legs, mussels, & crawfish. The sauce we chose was the house special and the spicy level we did was spicy. It had a great kick to it . We had a party of 6 and we had a ton of left overs! We also ordered a few sides of rice which accompanied the seafood boil very well. Before the food came out we got the lobster fries which had some sweetness to them & the calamari. I personally was not a fan of the calamari since it felt very rubbery by family really enjoyed. They do provide bibs and gloves incase you’re worried about getting dirty. The service was also great, the lady who took our order really walked us through the menu and gave some great recommendations. I can’t wait to go back!

I am originally from New Orleans, LA. And this place is legit. Very happy with the service, employees are friendly, food was fresh. I went on a Wednesday during lunch time. Got peeled shrimp, fries, catfish sandwich, chicken tenders. They have a great garlic sauce, and left a good spiciness on my taste buds.

First time here and man it smells good when I first walked in! So far everything is great! Customer service is good-friendly staffs. Fast service ... they provide table cover and gloves so messy is necessarily. Good portion of food and good size of shrimp, crawfish, mussels, soft potatoes and crunchy corn(compare to some places ). The reason why I give 4 stars .... bathroom all the way in the back so u will have to walk thru the kitchen .... if u only wash ur hands there is an sink next to the fridge. Also the sauce is oily.... I can taste the seasoned lemon garlic but it's just too oily. Otherwise everything was awesome and I will be a return customer. :D ( wish I took more photos I realized it too late after I was done)

Best seafood boil restaurant my husband and I been too in St. Paul hands down!! Perfect amount of spice. I got mild and he got medium heat. So delicious, and on point. I can't stop raving about it. My first time trying this place I was concerned if it'll be good. I ordered take out and came before closing to pick it up. The food was delicious and fulfilling. I decided to try eating in this time. I got combo 3 and it was so good. The people were so nice and accommodating which made the entire experience so much better. I came around lunch time on Friday so it was not very busy! I definitely recommend this place as an awesome seafood boil find!

The food tasted great, especially with the king Cajun sauce. However, the quantity is tricky. In some of the meals, you think you got a lot of things to eat but in reality, the meat is only a very tiny portion of the actual weight you paid for. My mom got the two lobster tails and they seemed huge in the pictures, but when she got her meal we were both disappointed as to how small the actual meat in the tail was. She was barley half full after eating them (she doesn't even eat a lot and gets full pretty fast). Overall, pleasant flavor, but not so much worth the money paid for the quantity unless you order the large shareable combos.

Service and location were great. The prices were fair. Being from the south, I'm particular with my seafood. My fiance and I got two different kinds of boils. He really enjoyed his meal and the portions were very nice. Only thing is I wish there was a bit more sauce and could use a bit more seasoning. But we will certainly be back.

My husband is from Louisiana and we've been searching for a good place to get a little taste of home. King Cajun was it. The service was amazing, the owner talked about their history (they're from Baton Rouge) and provided recommendations, and the food was delicious. Two thumbs up from our four year old as well :) If you're looking for good Cajun food, go to King Cajun.

Snail dish lover here. Enjoyed the tamarind sauce it was made with. The snail and all the rest of the food was cooked just right, not overcooked at all! Clean seafood. Big sized crawfish instead of the small ones some places serve. One of the top places to get Cajun in the twin cities. Will definitely be going back for more!

Celebrated a birthday with our family of 6. We almost finished our Family Plater! An excellent value for $199. All of our school aged children were delighted. We’ve eaten at many seafood broil restaurants around the US and this place had a great house sauce. Lots of garlic without an overpowering aftertaste. The fried ocra was perfect and so were the lobster fries. That was my personal favorite menu item! We’ll be coming back.

My sisters have been here before and decided at the last minute to meet for dinner and catch up. We all have busy lives and we really miss each other. Tonight was my first time here at King Cajun. it's okay but the crawfish was terrible. I am from Louisiana and I was really looking forward to some seafood. as much as it costs, you would think that they would add more seasoning to at least hide the frozen flavor. the seasoning needed a lot more, but I guess that is to be expected for the North. I wouldn't suggest for someone to eat the crawfish if it is thier first time eating it. Previously my husband swore he hated crawfish because of an experience in Minnesota. Only after going down to Louisiana to a boil near a gas station in Mamou, did he realize he was wrong. 2 stars off for the seasoning and quality. it is a nice place and they have good seafood, crawfish just is not it.

Ryan actually called me this morning and wanted to meet with me and understand where I was coming from I did not expect that from a business owner at all I had figured that we were just paying customers and that's all we were. Let me just tell you that is not the case when it comes to this business he really went out of his way to make me feel actually appreciated and like an individual not just another customer that was paying. I ordered the seafood boil for the first time today. When I walked in, the restaurant looked clean, newly remodeled. I ordered my food online and it was ready in the 30 minutes they said it would be. The order was wrapped securely so there wouldn’t be any leaking by the time I got home. The crawfish was big. The prawns, crab legs, and mussels were good. There was plenty of potatoes and corn. The flavor was really good. The only thing I noticed was that there wasn’t very much sauce that I could dip the seafood in, compared to other restaurants. Other than that, the food was great. I will definitely go back.

It was good and different, but had to wait too long to get our food, to go. Two sets of customers came in after us and they got their food before me and my son. That was disappointing but overall the food was good, little pricey, though. Also, it was very spicy, even the medium was spicy because be my son went back today. He seems to really like it. I really miss this place, so I hope they will re-open soon. The above review was 7 months ago at the old location. But, at the new location, service was excellent and the new location was just beautiful. I wish them the best in their new place. I've been to all 3 Seafood Cajun restaurants in St. Paul on University. I've only had the crawfish boil. This place had the best. Now this is still MN standards for seafood. It's not going to beat anything fresh and in season. This is the only place (including coastal city seafood) where I've been served the crawfish on a plate. They are supposed to stay in the bag and you pull em out one by one. Don't like how they serve them here. They cool off too quickly this way.

Very nice environment, I'm not a big fan of seafood but my friends really enjoyed it. Everything smelled amazing and the staff were very helpful and polite. My friend is absolutely obsessed with the sauce that they serve with the black mussels, and can go on and on about it for ages. I was surprised that they serve potatoes and corn with the mussels, but it was cooked perfectly. I highly recommend going here.

Great sauce, I like their chef's special sauce but they didn't have the combo over the weekend. And when you try creating your own dish to get it so that it matches the combo it's even more expensive than the combo price. In my opinion it's not really a good deal. So so so yummy. Great aesthetic - shiny new white and orange tile. They gave my order to someone else, and did not realize it, so eventually I had to go ask them to check on it - they got it out to me within 10 min, but in all I waited about 25 min for my food. It was delicious, tho! Definitely gonna come back sometime.

This place was fantastic! The other seafood boil place I had didn’t have any flavor but this place had all the flavor! The server was very nice and answered all my question as far types of flavor and taste I was thankful for her recommendation because I got the house mix and light spicy because she told me medium spicy would be kinda like hot Cheetos and luckily I stuck with the light spicy because it was just right amount of heat anymore then that it would’ve been too spicy for me. The house mix was so tasty it was a combination of Louisiana and dry rub (I think) either way I really recommend this flavor. My boyfriend and I spent around $75 which too is was worth it. We got 1lb of shrimp, 2 crab clusters, 1 lobster tail, 1lb of crawfish, and 1 andouille sausage. It came with a handful of potatoes and probably 3 corns. We’re not extremely full but I bet if we added 1 more lb of shrimp it would’ve been good. I wish we could add stuff on the go, but was afraid it wouldn’t come out right away. Otherwise we are definitely coming back!

Great little spot. Hospitable service, good prices, flavorful food, no frills, family friendly. I had a pound of crawfish, medium spice, house mix + lemon pepper, at the suggestion of the nice woman who took my order. I wouldn’t have known you can mix the sauces otherwise. Heavy on the garlic but that’s OK with me. The Cajun fries are nice, especially if a member of your party isn’t big on seafood. Pro tip: pour the delicious leftover sauce into your empty water cup, take it home, use it for dipping some crusty bread a few hours later. I’ll be back to try some of the other options, likely the head on shrimp. The soft shell crab sandwich also caught my eye.

Sooooooo good! The service was excellent, easy to order, prices are fantastic, and the seafood was to die for. The corn was the best I've ever had, it's very fresh and would taste great even without sauce. There are several kinds of sauce - lemon pepper, cajun, etc - and they have peeled shrimp in case you don't want to get your hands dirty. Didn't take a pic because we ate so fast!

My family’s go to seafood place since it’s in our city but I had recently ordered from them and didn’t know an item was sold out so they called me and I tried to call them back 4 times (no answer) to cancel the order and when I finally spoke to someone (Which was about a 2 hours after I placed the order and called them back), the lady was rude when I told her I wanted to cancel the order & hung up in my face. All cajun seafood is good and cajun sauce taste js about right. The spice and spice powder on the side has pretty good heat. But the one thing is the portion size its abit off. And they also wont do catering. Spent over $200 on a tray.. was good but not worth spending over $200 for a tray that size... But for the small individual orders it is worth going back.

The house sauce is half garlic-and-butter and half Louisiana spices; you choose among four levels of spiciness (even medium was plenty bold for us). Incredible seafood boil, great selection of crawfish, mussels, shrimp, clams, etc. boiled by the pound with potatoes and corn with different levels of spices. The fries and fried catfish are also excellent! Staff is very friendly and it's a small, clean little place that seems busy and well-loved by locals. Come prepared to use the bibs, gloves, and buckets. Medium seemed to be the most common level of spice and was about right.

Today was my first time there. The smell when you walk in is like garlic heaven. Mmmm....😋 I was greeted & helped by Abby, she was awesome!! I got crab legs, shrimp, & my first time trying crawfish. It was absolutely DELICIOUS!! I ordered garlic butter (LOTS of garlic in there) with light seasoning, but it still had a pretty good kick to it but not to spicy. Crawfish are tasty but not worth the work for such little meat. They were really good but I won't get those anymore. I highly recommend you try this place, it's worth it, & you get alot of food. A great iteration of the concept. Reasonably priced, fresh, well-seasoned and not over-cooked. On top of that the staff is very friendly. The seating is clean but limited so you may want to consider takeout.
