Reviews of Kbop Korean Bistro

We've been coming to K-Bop Korean Bistro since it opened. Despite the last time we were here, our seafood pancake wasn't extra crispy like we requested, it was still delicious. We enjoy everything we've had over the years. The service is good and quick. Price per portion and quality is worth it. And I enjoy all the K-Pop music accompanying every bite.
Cloudy Day
Great food and music! We got japchae with beef, katsudon, beef bulgogi, and some gimbap. The portion sizes are nice, but the bulgogi was a little salty -- overall it's a good place to eat.

Excellent Korean spot in dinky town! Very spacious with small and long tables. Pleasant and friendly service. A must-visit location! Definitely coming back.
1. Jampong $16: Flavorful and exactly the right amount of spice and saltiness. Seafood (clams, shrimp, calamari rings, octopus tentacles, and baby scallops) were perfectly tender. A good amount of veggies but could use more ratio to noodle proportion. Very generous bowl!
2. Du Bu Dae Chigae $12: Rich and flavorful broth, perfectly cooked Ramen, and ingredients. Rice was cooked well. Bowl was worth it and it came out sizzling!
3. Fried Mandu (veg) $11: Crispy exterior with a moist interior. Tad bit soggy filling but good. Came in a quantity of 8 per order. The dumpling soy sauce was good but a bit salty. When eaten with the mandatory it paired well.
4 Kimbap $6.25: One roll to go. The daughters enjoyed it at home but said it was salty but ok.
Banchan sides:
A. Sweet pickled cucumbers: Crunchy & fresh but sweet. Sliced onions round out the bite.
B. Napa cabbage kimchi: Mild and tangy but very crisp and great.
C. Fish cake slices: Mildly sweet but savory and the texture is perfectly soft and not tough.

I love coming to Kbop as we are big fans of Bibimbap.
Parking can be a little tricky if you come during busy hours, but we always managed to park on the street.
Their menu is straightfoward and they have a good variety of dishes.
You will walk over the counter and order there. They will call your number. Sitting is limited, so keep that in mind.
I usually get the hot stone bibimbap because I really like the crispy rice at the bottom. I always take leftovers as the portions are big. Another dish that I always order is their kimchi pancakes, they are so tasty and the dipping sauce is perfect for them.
When I think of good bibimbap, korean wings and kimchi, Kbop always come to mind.

I was really wanting to try some DukBokki and Kim Bap for the first time after seeing it on the menu at a different Korean Restaurant, so I dragged my partner to KBOP Korean Bistro!
I wanted to go here because they had the DukBokki listed on their menu as an appetizer; and since it was my first time trying it, I didn't want a full entrée-sized order.
The restaurant was really modern and clean. I loved to atmosphere!
My partner and I split both appetizers and I fell in love with the DukBokki! The rice cakes were so soft and chewy and the sauce was really delicious, with a little kick of heat/spice.
The Kim Bap was also good, but for some reason it tasted a bit on the salty side. I'm not sure if it's supposed to taste that salty, but that's truly the only thing I didn't like about it. I will definitely need to try it again for a better review.
The food was great, the staff was nice and the prices were very reasonable! I would definitely recommend this place for those of you wanting quick Korean food for a good price.
** Also, I'm not sure about the spelling of DukBokki and I don't want to offend anyone. I've seen it spelled multiple ways, but KBOP Korean Bistro has it spelled like "DukBokki" on their menu, so I'm using their spelling within this review :)

I loveeee the food! 10/10 for the food, I wish they had different sides if you’re ordering multiple entrees. Sucks they don’t have free water and only bottled.

All the food we tried was excellent. First time going and never tried Korean food before and I really enjoyed all of it! Polite staff and really nice environment
mehmet ozturk
It is very close to my house and this is the first time I decided to try. It is very clean place and delicious Korean food. It looks like I will be around until I try everything in the menu :)

A MUST try stop! I'm still rather new to Korean food in general, but Kbop served up a meal I will not forget. Being a novice, I ordered 3 items for myself and my girlfriend to enjoy, and let's just say we will be eating the same food for a few days, and loving every serving of leftovers too!
Each flavor is so unique, and the sides are the perfect accompaniment to pair with the entrees and appetizers.
I will be back, and if you haven't been yet, come and find out why this will be a regular stop for you too!

Food was amazing!! Perfect portion and flavors! Will definitely go back!

I've eaten here about 7 times and each time is usually very consistent. This time however, the service was pretty off. I ordered a side of mandu and 30 minutes later, I asked about it. The guy reassured me it was coming out soon. An hour later I went up to the counter to see what's up. They forgot my whole order! Along with my friends whole order. They figured out the mistake, and gave us some kimbop for the mixup. The food was delicious, but they get one less star because of this service.
Ankit Bangar
Simple and straightforward yet a complete menu of Korean food. Food is tasty and worth coming again for. My absolute favorites are Dukbokki and Bulgogi!! Bulgogi comes searing hot on a sizzling platter. This place is a must try if you’re in Dinkytown area in Minneapolis.
The interiors are neat and tidy.
Nathan S
Very great flavors and portion sizes are perfect! Only rated it four stars because you can tell they tried catering it to a white audience as well and lost a lot of spicy flavors in the process.
Ying Lee
My husband took me out to this new place that our son recommended for our anniversary and I thought it was cool. The staffs were friendly and service was quick. Portions of the food were great for the price. This place reminds me of Dong Yang if you’ve ever been there before. Self serve water and you clean up after yourself. Definitely going back there again too bad we wanted to try the korean fried chicken but they were out. The only thing bad is the parking. You gotta pay meters or ramp and it’s hard to find a parking space since there’s many people and moving vehicles in that area.
Ingrida Galejs
I ordered the chicken bibimbap from here on a whim during my 12 hour shift since the price ($10.50) was so reasonable and I forgot to pack a lunch. I was pleasantly surprised by the amount of food and how delicious it was! I didn’t even eat half before getting full. The kimchi and other little add-ins on the side were fantastic as well. I’ll definitely be ordering again in the future. The amount of food you get for the quality and price is amazing.
John Blood
We love this place. Recruited by a Korean friend I fell in love. I've shared it with others, and they fell in love, too. Wide menu, good prices, great flavor. Their fried chicken is delicious. But then, so is everything else too.
The menu is on TV screens so you can see pictures and ingredients. Very helpful for the Korean food newbie! But do *not* touch the screens! You'll see when you get there. And you must go! (Just don't touch the screens.). :-)
D “Juanito” H
Authentic Korean food in the middle of Gopher town. The setup is simple and clean. The food is reasonably priced and good for students. The wait time is minimal but the food doesn't always come out at the same time. The Korean Chicken Wings are large and has a thick sweet glaze, not spicy. The Kimchi pancake is great, so is the Kalbi. Strongly recommended.
Ellena Le
The entrees and side dishes were all amazing with quick service on their part. I would definitely come back here again as it is also a very pretty and bright shop! The only issues I faced was the service was a bit standoffish and some of the menu was not available when I went which was a bit disappointing. I understand though, it might have just been that day which is why I look forward to coming back one day!

"K-bop", more like "K-Why, don't i eat here more often?" I went here for my sweet sixteen and IT WAS AMAAAAAAAZING! I drove all the way from Rochester, and it was well worth the trip. The manager obviously cares immensely about the customers, (he gave me an extra rice, free of charge). (Also Mango Thai is Thai food and a completely different flavour and style, not really a good comparison). I had a great experience and I will definitely be coming here again. Thanks Kbop!!!!!!
Nancy T
Loved this place! Food is very tasty and flavorful. Only reason why I gave this a four star is some of the customers that ordered after us were getting their entrees and we were still waiting for a couple of our entrees. Parking can be far but we got lucky and were able to park across the street in the parking ramp. I will definitely come back here.
Tram Trinh
I enjoyed the food there, not too spicy so everyone can eat.
A serving is quite big I think, so consider when you order with groups of 2-3 people.
Laine
Went with a girlfriend, ordered bibimbap and budae jjigae it was good, simple, but the best....
Flavor was ok, but very simple, I was disappointed when I tasted the kimchi and I can tell it is store bought and not house-made, but still happy to see more diversity in foods now
Jenn Anderson
Authentic, fun, and delicious food!!! Don't be surprised if it's a little smoky when you come in. That's pretty common :)
Linda Thao
I ordered the pork bulgogi and mandu fried dumplings. The food was fresh and delicious. The bulgogi was a little oily. I haven't been here in a while and was sad to see they no longer have lunch specials. The portions do seem a bit smaller than I remember, but it still fills you up.
W C
Ordered mulnaengmyeon (and other items) for delivery off DoorDash, but the order was missing the noodles. Please note that they keep the noodles and broth separate for take out orders. I boiled my own noodles, but as I was pouring the broth onto my noodles, I noticed pieces of their noodles in the broth already. It makes it seems like they are reusing the broth? Why else would there be pieces of noodles in my broth already?
Other items (bulgogi and tofu jorim) were fine.
I am hesitant to eat here again based on other reviews finding hair and other non-food items in their dishes.
Alejandro Baltazar
Had diner for 2 and spent 35 dollars. It was soooo good but you get alot, I mean alot of food. I was stuffed and she couldn't finish her plate.
Taylor Ruud
Food was bomb! Staff was friendly - ordered tteokbokki, sweet & sour chicken, paejon, Tteok Mandu Guk, and kimbap. I'll definitely be returning
Stephanie Gilmore
Absolutely delicious food and quick service. Prices are incredibly reasonable, especially for the amount of food you get. 10/10 will go again
MzRhia1984
Great prices, large portions, and quick service! The down fall... Limited close parking. I'd definitely visit again.

Absolutely amazing place to grab some of your favorite noodles. Thank you for the great service every time we come in!.
Andrew Mosenden
Very flavorful, quick, and good valuation for Korean Food. I had the Denjong, irregular for MN taste, but very good with shrimp and a few muscles. The side dishes are fresh and good. Highly recommend.
Minjae Kim
It's a small establishment located in the heart of UMN campus. It's certianly a great place to introduce to anyone interested in Korean food. However, having lived in Seoul for few years, I was a little disappointed with the quality of the food, since they were similar to the ones I could make in the kitchen with half the price on the menu. Also, the ordering system appeared outdated or unsophisticated, as the person behind me got the same exact food sooner than me. If you're looking for an authentic Korean restaurant, just book a flight to LA from MSP.
Israel Moreno
#17. It was very good! That's an egg at the top, covering a bowl of rice that is complimented with shrimp and squid. Bomb, SON!
Quyen Hang
They are new and kinda busy; which is good but they can't handle it well. Things can't be found, not produce enough. I have 2 dishes and I will go detail about the food with the pictures included.
Jonathan Sup Lee
Pretty decent, given that they cater to the University students. Pretty decent portions. What you see on the menu is deceiving; the portion is larger. The food is tad too sweet, but I asked for my dish to be prepared spicy and it was pretty spicy.
Joe C
The wife and I enjoy eating here over any other Korean restaurants in the twin cities area. 5 stars for taste, speed, simplicity, and consistency. Recommended if all these items maintain their current level.
Leah Brooks
The food here is sooo good! Everything that I've asked for to be made vegan/ vegetarian they've been able to accommodate. When you ask for spicy you actually get spicy! It's a pretty casual environment, feels a bit like a cafeteria, and it can fill up fast. Definitely worth a visit if you're at all interested in Korean food.
Robert Imrie
Quick food near the University of Minnesota. Wall monitors with pictures and dish names make ordering easy. Quite reasonable prices. I liked mandoo (fried dumplings, similar to gyoza). Good amount of side vegetables that Korean restaurants are known for. I wouldn’t drive here from out of town but would happily stop in if in the area.
Angel L.
Hit the spot for my Korean cravings. Tried the beef bibimbap and kalbi tang, really liked the kalbi soup! Street parking available.
Joel Weixel
Great flavor. A few gluten free options. Staff is careful with allergies.
Jason Munson
I'm not an expert in Korean food so I can't say if this is authentic or not. But I do know good food and their food is great. And I can tell you the chicken wings are simply the best I've ever had anywhere. They are crispy like they should be and the sauce....well the sauce is so good I can't even describe it. They come as an appetizer but it's the only thing I eat here. Others in my family like the beef bulgogi, tteok-bokki and fried rice. It's all good. But if you dare try the wings be warned you'll be hooked for life
Christina Knudson
The seafood pancake is loaded up with seafood! Call them for take out/curb-side pickup.
Josh B
Honestly — it’s one of the best. Staff is great. Food is great. Only ding is that parking can be hard to find but it’s worth it.
ML Hung
Quick casual dining in UofM campus. Generous portions to feed hungry college kids.
Michael Dao
The relaxed atmosphere is really nice. Making it a fun place to enjoy some good food. Definitely will come back!
Youness Himmi
Really delicious food, and there is a parking structure nearby so it's easy to get to.
A Messner
It's alright. The meat on both my and my husband's entrees was very chewy. Sure, it was traditional Korean type food, but believe it or not I prefer my homemade bulgogi. $$ for the price.
Re the place itself it's actually pretty cool. You order and your meal comes on a tray (drinks extra unless you want tea or water, that's free). Once you eat, you bring your tray up to this tray stand like a school cafeteria has. Then they clean it from there. So you clear your table. It's quite efficient!
Each entree comes with several little dishes of stuff. For example, one dish was the best kimchi I've ever eaten, that was my favorite part. Gamja Jorim was another. And they're rice is near perfect.
I don't know if we'd ever go again but it was a fun experience.
Joshua Woodman
If I lived in Minneapolis instead of just visiting, I'd go here often. The portions are large, the 3 sides they give you in addition to your main entrée make you feel like you are getting a great value and variety for what you pay, and the food comes out sizzling (actually sizzling) on a cast Iron platter on your tray. Whoever came up with the idea for this place got it right. Great food, piping hot, 3 standard sides for a variety in taste and texture, and prices low enough I'd come back regularly instead of just on special occasions.

After watching "Nation of Broth" on netflix I was on the hunt for a few of the soups they highlighted on the show. I found the Sundae Gak, blood sausage and intestines, and it met all if not more of my expectations. What a dream. Mix the rice with the broth you will not regret it. I did wonder if the kimchi was homemade, tasted different than what i usually eat. :) Update with a photo later.

Edit: gave 5 stars before, but found they close randomly without google updates to open hours. They’re good otherwise.
Such good flavor and value! One of our favorite restaurants in the Twin Cities!
Vladimir Kuksenko
Large portions at a reasonable price. Tasty and well prepared
Raj Vinjamuri
Two years after being in Seoul, coming here was a blast of nostalgic flavor and delight.
If you don't know what to choose, a great first experience is the Bi Bim Bop. Stir in the chili paste and mix it all up when it is still hot.
Kbop's atmosphere is a fun fusion of Dinkytown delish and Korean culture as apparent by the metal chopsticks that are a bit shorter and more square than the ones used in Korea.
Kaffie Kurz
I lived in Korea for years so I have experience with Korean’s food and this place doesn’t disappoint if you’re looking for Korean food. The service was good and the restaurant was clean. I ordered couple of things from the menu and they were all really good. I gave it four stars because I thought they’d soju unfortunately there wasn’t any at the time of this review. However, overall good experience and food.
Nate Arch
A workhorse of a diner. It doesn't do bibimbap as good as Cook, or jigae as good as Tofu House, or bulgogi and banchan as good as Dong Yang, and it certainly isn't as expensive as Dong Hae, but what it does do is deliver the overall most consistent and very good Korean dining experience in town.
The standouts are the Kimchi Jigae and Ja Jang Myeong, both are pictured below.
The kimchi soup comes in two sizes: a sensibly proportioned lunch version served 11-3 M-F (pictured below) with 4 banchan and a bowl of rice or a gigantic bubbling cauldron of pork and kimchi with more banchan (not pictured).
The black bean noodles are enormously proportioned (definitely expect to have left overs...also, don't wear white clothing while attempting to stay spot-free while slurping up the noodles) and expertly seasoned. If you have an aversion to spice or kimchi...well, what are you doing here, but this is the thing you should be ordering. It is also a good "normie" non bulgogi introduction to Korean food. It, like all the entrees on the menu, come with banchan.
Vegetarians will find a very short menu to pick from. There is tofu soup and you can ask them to leave the meat off the bibimbap. Vegans may have an even harder time finding something to eat, as Korean soups are often based on or infused with fish sauce or anchovy broth.
Other things worth trying are the excellent Kimbap appetizer (Korean rice and seaweed wrap with pickled radish and meat), the good ol stand by bulgogi, the a-little-bit-of-everything hangover cure Budae Jigae (Army Base stew made popular after the war when Spam and hotdogs were one of the only readily available sources of protein for a rebuilding country), and the spicy Ojingeo-bokkeum, which is a squid based stir fry.
All in all the main entrees here are professionally and consistently prepared with huge proportions. Nothing on the menu ventures too far above $12 and the lunch menu is filled with more sensibly proportioned options for less than $8. It's a really welcome addition to the local Korean food scene and it should be near the top of your list if you're in the mood for a little kimchi and banchan.

Authentic cooks and great prices. Friendly front staff. COVID-19 reg. compliant

New to Korean food. Went out of my comfort zone and was pleasantly surprised! Veggies were super fresh and delicious. Korean pork sweet and sour was also delicious. Restaurant had a very inviting feel.
Baz
The food is good and the price is reasonable and the quantity is filling
Amal Osman
My first South Korea food experience and it was delicious.
blueTREE
Definitely authentic Korean taste in main society on my favorite campus in young and modern atmosphere suits perfectly..
Oddly a little disappointed for using chopstick cover print in Japanese. Very odd as unexpected.. I think it's better to use blank cover if Korean print isn't available..
Please don't mix cultures unless you are not serving such culture as well.. It usually is taken as slap on the face of the culture you are representing.. It's can also be confusing for consumers..
Thanks for good food and warm environment..

Such amazing and AUTHENTIC Korean food. I love the fast cafe style so you are not waiting half an hour for your food like in a typical restaurant. The prices are great for the quality of food you receive. You also get all the usual Korean food side dishes which is nice for extra taste and to fill you up with your entree. Location is prime for U of M students. I would recommend to anyone that wants to try something new!
Forrester S
I am not a huge fan of Korean food. With that said I really enjoyed the seafood soups and your seafood pancake. The service was pleasant. My wife was with me and of course she steered me into the right entrees. She loved the food as well. We will be back!
Morgan Mahan
Amazing Korean food, and the vibe in the restaurant is awesome!
Bryan Plunger
Extremely tasty Korean food in casual style, but totally legit. Lots of choices, classic (and endless) sides of kimchi and tofu, and it comes on steaming hot plates. Really excellent food all around, and super friendly service. Happy to make suggestions and take special requests. Really a top notch Korean place with reasonable prices, quick service, and a laid-back feel.
Stephan Adair
I grabbed a bibimbap with a co-worker for a quick lunch and it was great. I enjoy coming here periodically to break up my streak of eating fast food. The food tastes great, there is a menu with a lot of variety, and I enjoy the unique side dishes offered with each entree. They really as some variety and novelty to the dishes being served. I have eaten here many times and plan to continue.
Cecilia Mitchell
The bulgogi chicken and Kal bi tang were great! The bean curd banchan was also especially good out of the banchans (+kimchi and bean sprouts).
Ree
We enjoyed it very much and will definitely be back!
Daniel Holzschuh
The food is delicious! I like to eat somewhere I've never been for my birthday, and this year we ordered take-out from Kbop and they did not disappoint. I ordered the Ja Jang Myeon, and my boyfriend got the beef Bulgogi. Guys, it was so good. Order was made quickly, and the prices were entirely reasonable. I can't wait to order from here again. I had leftovers for lunch and dinner today, and the food was excellent reheated as well.
Carlos Gonzalez
Great experience the cooks really put effort into the food !

One of the more authentic Korean menus in the downtown area and I run into more Koreans here than I ever have in any other area here in the Twin Cities.
The set up is very much serve-your-self and they have pictures of the food on the menus which help. Bright, minimal and utilitarian setup. You order at the register, take a number and a seat, then wait for your number to be called. You also are expected to bus your own table. The service is professional but not necessarily warm; I can forgive this as the prices are fair given the downtown location and the amount of food they give you. This is my go-to for when I'm craving food from the motherland, much better than the highly priced D in the Warehouse district.
Selfishly I'm disappointed that they always run out of Kimbap as the one time I was able to catch them when they had it, it was good! Just like in Korea. 5 stars!
Bryan Plunger
Incredible Korean BBQ for good prices and quick service. You walk into what appears to be a typical fast casual place, but do not be fooled, this food is the real deal. Huge portions served in hot cast iron bowls and delicious with healthy quantities of meat and seafood. Also, the sides (yes, everything comes with sides) of kimchi and such are equally excellent and free refills! Can't recommend highly enough.
June Y
Nice atmosphere and delicious Korean food. There is an Asian server who is friendly and very helpful. Everything on the menu is delicious but not sure if it's vegan or vegetarian friendly. I would recommend asking the servers. Water is self serve by the registers and you put your trays away yourself. Kinda like a fast food structure.
Annabelle Yoshikawa
We ordered the Beef Bibimbap, Beef Bulgogi, Fried Mandu, Kimchi Chigae and Japchae. It was a veritable feast! Everything was fresh, flavorful and thoughtfully prepared. Generous portions too for the price. Can't wait to try some of their other tasty sounding dishes next time.
Kevin Le
This restaurant has never disappointed me in delivering reasonably priced, delicious Korean dishes. Many of the entrees are cooked well and they are very consistent with their cooking. I've always had a blast coming here for lunch or dinner. Definitely somewhere to stop by if you're visiting the town.
Jennifer Le
The staff were great and the food was fantastic! Love that I found my tteokbokki place!
I just have to say, because I watched so many people not do this, it's Covid and everybody is working as hard as they can, but please be patient and pay attention. There are obvious signs for where you are to go depending if you are placing an order, dining in, or picking up. I watched so many people walk in when there's a separate door to go to for pick up orders to minimize contact.
Terence Betlehem
I had the jaeyuk bokkum (stir fried spicy pork) and it and the Korean sides (panchan) were very tasty. There was a little bit if a wait but that is because i arrived in peak hour.
Ben “Yung Hinoki” Wu
Have not had a bad dish here. This place makes me so very happy. All my korean cravings are fully fulfilled and my heart is always happy when I leave. Modest prices, big portions, and delicious food. Can’t go wrong!
Dustin Kwee
Honestly not impressed - BUT for the price and knowing that (unfortunately) the Twin Cities simply do not have a large plethora of Korean restaurants, I won't be so harsh. Affordable Korean staples. I'd stick with the BBQ items as I found their soups to be lackluster and MSG-filled.
Esmeralda Vang
The reason I’m giving this restaurant 3 stars when I could be a 5 star restaurant is because literally EVERY TIME I’ve ordered take out or delivery through a delivery service, they’ve ripped me off of the side dishes. Their food is really good but the main reason why I love Korean food is because of their side dishes. So when I get ripped of from those, I’m not happy. Otherwise, good food and good portions for the price.
Jetforce
Wow can’t believe the prices went up so much since few months ago, like 40% higher! I guess we have to eat less at restaurants and cook more at home!!!
JordiKai Inouye
Fast service. Big portions. I ordered the beef bulgolgi and it was very tasty. It also came with a bunch of sides. They have cups for water and bottled drinks to purchase - no fountain drinks here. It can get very loud so I would say it's an average place to eat if you want to hold a conversation. What it lacks in ambiance it redems in flavor.
Richard Dongses
Popular Korean casual restaurant, since it's next to campus. Given that, there's always a line so be prepared to wait a little. Korean food was decent, definitely not the quality I'm used to when I lived in the Bay area, but I ain't in the Bay, and I'm cool with decent Korean food. The cashier was friendly, so that's a positive.
Melvin Saballos
Love this place. Food is good and the lunch prices are pretty nice (7.25 an entree). Heads up, if you're in a rush don't order the chicken wings. We waited 20 minutes for ours but everything else came much sooner. Otherwise, highly recommend for a quick, delicious and reasonably priced bite.
Hendrick Sukardi
Nice place, and cheap. You will have to work a little to find street parking nearby. It’s in a neighborhood filled with college kids.
Aaron Tsay
Nice place in dinkytown. Good selection of food. Can be very crowded and have a wait to order or find a seat. Food is good, flavorful. We like to go here if we ever crave for Korean food and are on campus. Seafood pancake and tofu soup are my top choice.
Pa Thao
The food is great! Prices are very reasonable. You can easily get a delicious and filling lunch for under $10. Their kim bap is so good! I've gotten the bi bim bap with beef each time I've gone. The entree portions are large so you'll like have leftovers. The kimchi is some of the best I've had. I just wish portions were bigger for the banchan. The only reason I'm giving a 4 star rating instead of 5 is that customer service is inconsistent. The last we went, the cashier was extremely rude and unfriendly. She treated us as an inconvenience.
Richard White
Great price for quality, would go. No table service, order, sit, wait for food on tray.
Sujata Mastani
Honestly loved this place, their base spice level is pretty low so make sure to ask for extra if you like the heat!🔥🔥🔥🔥
A P
Easily the best Korean food in the Twin Cities. Many of the older joints have gotten by on lack of competition. This place is clean with good service and decent prices. Quality of ingredients is clearly a level above the other Korean joints in town.
A. J.
The side dishes were good. We thought the kimchi was very good. We also had Kimchi Chigae which we found to be a bit more sour than what we are used to, however it was really tasty! The food portions were decent and prices were reasonable.
We will definitely stop back in!
P.S. DON'T TOUCH THE SCREENS DISPLAYING THE MENU!
Yumo Zhu
It’s good. Soup is very delicious. I always go there for lunch or dinner. The sundubu chigae is awesome!! And the chicken wing is a little bit spicy but taste nice. And price is reasonably. However, the service is not that good. The young man who is rude. I’m not sure he can understand Korean or not. But he is patient less. Almost every time I go there. He just standing without smile or asking. The first time I don’t know the egg will put in soup. I just trying to ask. But, he just like annoyed with my question. I feel so bad with it.

I'm not sure I've eaten any Korean food since my brief stop in Seoul nearly 9 years ago. A friend and I frequently grab lunch, and we were thinking Korean BBQ, but decided it was a little pricey for lunch. Enter Kbop. I found it looking for Korean food near St. Anthony, and figured it was worth a shot with the good reviews I saw. That was a very good decision. My friend had the Bulgogi, I had the Beef Bi Bim Bap, and we split a plate of Korean Spicy Wings. The food was served quickly and was absolutely delicious. Another lunch trip is definitely in store. The only caution is that parking can be a little challenging at midday with the other businesses around and its proximity to the U of M campus. However, that's pretty minor in comparison to this great little gem in Dinkytown.
Shela Usadi
I go to Kbop at least once a week. At first, I felt like it was quite modernized to suit the student population at Dinkytown. However, I do enjoy the food and the customer service there.
My favorite items there are:
-Bi bim bap (Beef and veggie rice bowl)
-Kim bap (Korean sushi)
-Jjampong (Spicy seafood soup)
There has been 2 occasions where they have impressed me:
1) When the restaurant was just opening, I went there with my Korean best friend and we chatted with owner a bit. The owner then gave us a free entree. It was a version of my favorite Korean dish that the owner has been experimenting on.
2) I was going through a rough day and went there for dinner. After I ordered, I realized that they ran out of the fishcakes, my favorite Korean side dish of all time. In the middle of eating my food, the girl in the register came by with a giant bowl of fishcakes. She said that she went back to the kitchen and had them make it for me with the last few sheets of fishcakes they have left. That totally made my day and I almost cried with happiness with how amazing and considerate their customer service was.
FYI, they are closed on Sundays!! :(

Came here for a quick simple dinner, it was fine. Basic place, clean and friendly. Had a cold noodle dish, not a lot of beef in it but it was ok. Good flavors. Limited drink options & no alcohol :(
Amy H
Prompt service, spacious space. Food i got was okay. Not bad, not great. Dukboggi was too soft and mushy. Would go back to try something different
GraceD
Ok this was the place that saved me that day. The night before a tragedy hit my family and I was away for business in Minneapolis. I had no sleep the conference ended earlier and couldn't leave ok after walking around trying to collect myself i ran into this place. The soup I had was perfect Korean home cooking soup. It was soooo good and the price was right. I cannot thanks this place for what they didn't know they did for me. Everything in the menu look amazing. Super busy too.
SAI THARUN TALLAPRAGADA
They take covid safety seriously. They also have variety food for both vegetarians and non vegetarians. Even more, their menu is very well organized and it is very easy to order the item you want.
Bethany Young
I just stopped by as I've been craving affordable, delicious Korean food. Ordered kimbap, kimchi pancake and tofu japchae. I devoured the kimbap within 10 minutes (moist and savoury) and just demolished the kimchi pancake (one of my favorites, generous portion and comes with dipping sauce). Both delicious. For me, lots of decent vegetarian options. I'm saving the japchae, which I've had before, for later! As far as I'm concerned my craving for Korean is satisfied, just wish I didn't have to drive so far to get it.
Chia Chang
Food was good. Place was clean. Service is good. Would go back again.
George Carlson
Living in Korea right now, the food made me feel like I was at "home". Our kids, adults who have never been to Korea, really enjoyed it too. Oh, and be careful - ample portions can be enough for two, especially with the banchan (side dishes in the traditional style).
Aaron K.
Got the chicken wings.... very good. Seafood pancake /haemul pajeon very excellent! Japchae with beef....also good but could use alittle more beef! And last but not least a Kim bop roll! A good way to start it all off! Great prices! Tons of little sides added also to your meal!
Michael McGrath
This is definitely in the top five restaurants in Dinkytown and one of the best Korean places in the Twin Cities. The 불고기 is phenomenal, as is the 비빔밥. If you like some heat, the 떡볶이 is a classic appetizer. Korean cuisine has a lovely mixture of flavors, so people who love spicy food and people who want more savory or sweet can dine in harmony. Kbop hasn't been around for that long, but you can see by the sheer number of people who are there that they know what they're doing. 감사합니다, Kbop!!!!
J P
best korean food I've had in the twin cities by far. i'm not an authority on the matter, but I did live in south korea a while back, and I find kbop's food delicious, authentic, accessible and affordable. i've tried a lot of their dishes, all great, my favorite so far being the pork bulgogi.
Tammy Yang
Disappointed because we were looking forward to a Korean delivery place. Ordered 2 rice cakes but they put it in one tray which really honestly look like only one order of it. Next time they should separate the orders even though it's the same. Didn't have anymore kimbap so we had to call to make sure we have a refund on it. But I mean the rice cake was good but overall more disappointed. Just to make things clear I'm not mad just disappointed.
Jennifer Schwieterman
This place was great. Good price and big portion. Definitely worth it. Parking was a nightmare though. But we're also not from the area so we may just not know.
John Mitchell
Wife and I lived in Korea years before moving back to the States, this is honestly the most authentic Korean restaurant in the Twin Cities, and we've tried a TON of them. The ones on Snelling aren't that good, and the ones in Blaine/Brooklyn Park don't compare to KBop. Even the atmosphere of the dining area bring us back to eating in the small neighborhood restaurants in Daejeon and Seoul, with the TV playing in the background and the way they queue up your order once it's ready. Great food and a great experience of authentic Korean dining.
Kay Kim
I came here with a friend for lunch, and my first impression of the restaurant is very clean and welcoming with a modern twist. We ordered three dishes and they were very affordable. Three dishes came out surprisingly fast with wonderful presentations. All three dishes were very authentic and they were very generously portioned. I've lived in mn most of my life, and I have to say we finally got korean food RIGHT. I think KBOP might be the best korean food in the state.
Souleva YT
Food is excellent and the amount you get for the price is astounding! Everything I've tried has been delicious. If you like Korean cuisine you can't go wrong here
Kaylen Lowe
I love KBop and I love the fact that it is amazingly good food. The average pricing is around $10 for a dish, however it's money well spent based on the fact that you receive A LOT of food (good for basically two meals) and it's delicious. The best things to try for beginners would be the Bokum Bap (fried rice), Tang Soo Yok (sweet and sour chicken) or any of the Bulgogi's (they can be a little spicy). This restaurant delivers an authentic Korean taste for a very decent price, as evidenced by the high Korean populations that frequent the place. It's a cute environment for any type of person, however it is somewhat small and very popular so seating may be harder to find.
Java Nyamjav
Lunch special was awesome. fair price and awesome taste. If its you're first time, try the lunch menus. So many options they have, in the begining so hard to decide my menu but the male cashier explains almost every lunch menu for me that was so kind! i will visit there again for sure!
Ian Allen
Stopped in for lunch the other day, wasn’t too busy around 1:30. The restaurant has wall monitors with photos which was helpful when ordering. They also offer lunch specials which were a good deal. I had the Jap Chae and my friend had the Duk Mandu Guk—both excellent, and we also order a kimbap roll. Will definitely stop by again!
Taw Lee
Lovely atmosphere. It's self service so all you do is order, and pick up your food when your number is called. Keep in mind that not all the food comes out at once! Delicious food. Would come here again.
M A
They have many delicious, spicy dishes. I really like the Jaeyuk Bokum (spicy, stir-fried pork with vegetables) and the Bulgogi (sautéed barbecue beef, chicken or pork with onions). They also serve every entree with cold side dishes which makes it feel even more worth it for the price.
The counter-serve style works for them and they don’t keep you waiting too long even when they’re packed.
Definitely recommend. 😊
Rowan Madison
Great atmosphere and even better food. I had the bulgogi and the tonkatsu and both were expertly prepared, bursting with flavor with lovely textures. Hands down the best Korean food I have had in years.
david thao
Excellent food, Great service, Prices arent the worst thing on the planet with food averaging about 10-12 dollars. Definitely one of the best budget friendly korean spots to hit up when you're in the area!
Nalee Moua
Awesome food and reasonable prices. Nice ambiance atmosphere. Order and pick up food at the front counter. Street meter parking. Great experience. Definitely will visit again.
Gordy Seppanen
Excellent food with very fast service. Very fresh, lots of variety in dishes. Choices from mild to spicy, meat or vegan. A great experience I plan to return to try other dishes.
Regina Hernandez
Feeling like you need some good Korean food but you're alone? Try Kbop in Dinkytown! Counter service, when they call out your number just grab it & start eating! Korean drama/shows on so you can pretend to know Hangul (or not). Come check it out!
Brittany Z
The food was super good and we got it pretty quickly. There were some really nice employees as well. It reminded me of when I visited South Korea :)
Johnny So
Food was very delicious and the prices were very affordable. The korean lady at the front of store was very knowledgeable and friendly. We ordered a lot of food but ended up finishing it all.
Genell Ebbini
Having been living gluten-free for 6 years due to an autoimmune disease, the owner of this restaurant is always willing to work with me to substitute the ingredients and is very gracious in doing so. The food is delicious!
Tsundere Yandere Baka
The food was AMAZING!! After a long day of hanging out with my boyfriend at the Mall of America, we came here before leaving MN and they were so kind and quick to make our delicious meals! Would highly recommend you stop here!
Thea Munoz
This is our go-to place for yummy Korean food. Not to miss: bulgogi, japchae and seafood bibambap. K TV and Kpop often play in bistro if you like that kind of thing. Diverse and vibrant customers. Clean. Nice staff. nit cheap but very generous portions. Hungry? Go!
Kirk Duffy
Excellent food, friendly service.
Ricky Noren
A very welcoming and clean environment. Food is served with good speed. The side dishes are always great! The owners are lovely and considerate as well, expect great service from this restaurant!
Tisha Miller
A bit too spicy for me, but that's just me. The flavor was good and my daughter and her boyfriend said.they definitely plan on coming back. Since I'm from Ohio, not sure that I will be.
Joseph Emison
I would highly recommend Kbop if you're looking for Korean food! They have some of the best, most authentic dishes in town and the whole experience reminds me of my time in Seoul.
Emily
We LOVE their delivery!!! Dukbokki is deliciously flavorful, and prices are so so reasonable. We always end up getting a delicious, filling meal at a very affordable price :)
Abooto axado Muse
Soooooooooo good!!! I love the food here and the atomsphere is so vibrant and cozy. I come here with friends all the time and leave so happy and full. The ahjumma there is also very nice. They often play Korean variety shows and music as well.
If you're new, I highly suggest trying Bulgogi and Japchae.
Kelley Brenda
New in town and still exploring the city. We love korean cuisine so we've searched for a restaurant that was highly rated - and found this restaurant. Uberly satisfied. Food was really great and will defo come back next time.
Judy
Move over Hoban, move over Korea House.. the only one in Kbop's way is King's restaurant in Mounds View. The flavors here are so much more than the surrounding restaurants. I was so impressed and my tastebuds were happy to finally find a place in MN that was doing it better.
A lot of restaurants will sweeten or water down the flavors but KBop definitelt provides clear straight forward tastes of Korea.
Their space may be small but we fit a group of 8 on their hitop table. Parking might be a challenge but once you make it in, its worth it. They also play popular Korean shows like Running Man so you really get a full experience of Korean culture, Korean entertainment and hints of Korean decor. I don't know if they purposely used wooden tables and chairs to mimic the traditional furniture but its perfect. The height of the table and chairs are great. Easy to read menus and simple order and pickup process.
I can't wait to come back and try the rest of the menu!
Cathy Zheng
Clean space and delicious food. Especially love the crispy rice on the bottom of the bibimbap! the appetizers are sure appetizing too! So glad it opened on campus!
Levi Indvik
Cheap food with great taste! They've always been quick with my order. Easy walk if you live in the dinkytown area or north of campus.
Miranda Liming
Kbop is pretty okay, and there was street parking on a Tuesday at lunch, so that in itself is amazing.
Food was pretty good. They have dok bokki, extremely good, perfect spice.
There are weird things here though. Salad lettuce in the bibimbop. Cut up hotdogs in the Kim bop (oh hell no thank you).
Overall, it's good, and mostly authentic, but be ware, there will be American food surprises in your orders.
Beth Hee
Nice spot for lunch! We got ours to go and were super impressed by their friendliness and generous portions of side dishes. We will come back again when we are in the area.
Insu Park
One of our favorites in Cities 🤗
Baking with Rae
Fun restaurant. I had the bulgogi. It came with 4 sidedishes. I wish I knew I could easily gotten more kimchi I would have loaded up on that. Check it out it's a gteat food, prices are fair. This place will be one of the best restaurants to open this year.
Elijah Leonard
I eat here frequently and have always received outstanding service and terrific food. 10/10
Andrew Swartwood
Amazing food, great cooks, good value. Overall fantastic Korean food.

Affordable, clean, friendly, and kpop at kbop. This place is a must go, one of the best korean food I've had so far. Get your grub on and walk a couple blocks down for some bubble tea at Chatime

Great Korean foods place. Price is between 10-15 dollars but its filling. Important part is the foods here are delicious. Highly recommended.
Jessica Vang
Ordered with Doordash, said they didn't have any kimbap left and I asked if they could make something else to substitute for it, how dare they say no. I am a broke college student who was tryna treat myself. Transaction already went through, and they just took me mullah #petty
John Hancock
Food is really good. Bigger servings. Can take a little bit for the food to get ready but good food takes time. Always had enough seating whenever I was there.

Their spicy seafood Sundubu Jjigae literally transported me back to winter in Tangjeong Korea. I ate everything down to the last spoonful. I work less than 10 minutes away so this spot will be a weekly place for me.

(Translation) A lunch restaurant for university students. It's probably going to be dinner, but I didn't have time to look closely.
I was surprised when I entered a Korean restaurant that I suddenly encountered.
I was looking for something like Vietnamese noodles...
I had lunch with bulgogi, but it was American-style, but it was okay because it was teriyaki sauce. I see other students eating gimbap and cold noodles. hehe
Minneapolis lunch restaurant visited in snowy April.
The price is a student cafeteria, so it's about $17 for two. I didn't have a separate tip....was it something I should have given? Hmm...
The menu is plentiful.

가격은 학생식당이라 둘이 17불얼마정도. 따로 팁이 없었음....드렸어야하는 거였나? 흠...
메뉴는 충분히 많음.
