Reviews of ie - Italian Eatery
Brian Rude
My wife and I went to IE because we had a gift certificate. Wow that was a good friend to give us that!! Our server was extremely friendly and energetic. The food was great. I really enjoyed my meatball. They were light and flavorful.
I think what I really liked besides that is the atmosphere. It wasn’t sleepy or boring even on a Wednesday. The dining room is open to the outdoors and the crowd was lively. Very fun. We will be back!

Food was delicious this time around 10 out of 10. Went my second time since its near the office. Tried spaghetti, rigatoni, lamb appetizer and tarimisu. Everything was seasoned and cooked perfectly.
My last visit I had was the gnocchi dish and octopus appetizer, that didn't go too well. Glad I gave this place a second chance. SUPER DELICIOUS AND WILL BE BACK!

Outstanding service and great atmosphere inside and out! Our server was very knowledgeable about options to make our meals vegan. They have two pasta dishes and two salads that can be veganIzed, as well as a vegan sorbet. The patio is dog-friendly, but only available on a first come, basis.

My partner and I were looking for a nice Italian restaurant to eat at for our first anniversary and I'm so glad we chose this place! I had asked people in a Facebook Restaurant Review group for their opinion and enough people voted for IE that I couldn't say no.
The environment was really nice; I'd say it was like a semi-casual bar/restaurant mix. The menu is really limited, but that usually means that the restaurant specializes in those particular dishes and let me tell you... that's the truth!
We started with the GOAT MILK RICOTTA and we could tell how fresh the ingredients were. There was even freshly zested lemon mixed in with the ricotta and it added a beautiful citrus kick that we both really enjoyed.
For our entrees, we ordered the RIGATONI and the BAKED GARGANELLI. Both of these were absolutely out of this world, but the Rigatoni was the star of the show! The truffle was what really made the Rigatoni dish shine. My partner and I still dream about it :)
The Baked Garganelli was truly delicious as well. The meatballs were huge and the sauce was perfect.
To finish things off, we had to split an order of Tiramisu! Tiramisu is one of my absolute favorites and our waiter was kind enough to treat us to a piece on-the-house in honor of our anniversary! It even came to our table with a little note and candle :)
Our overall experience here was delightful and I highly recommend IE to anyone looking for a great Italian restaurant in the Twin Cities area. We plan on trying several others eventually, but this place sits at the top of our list for now.
As far as the prices? They're very average for your standard upscale Italian restaurant. Appetizers and desserts were around $10 a piece and entrees ranged upwards of $20. For the quality and service, I have no complaints!
Lydia Venjohn
Our favorite restaurant to celebrate special occasions! The food is prepared to perfection, they have a wonderful selection of wine, and the service is just spectacular. I love the al dente handmade pasta and the affogato for dessert. This is a must for Minneapolis dining.
Jonathan Krejci
Wonderful Food and Service! Everything is made in house which I love. Tried many things, the Rigatoni was my favorite, but you can't go wrong. Definitely making the regular rotation!

I had such a wonderful experience at Italian Eatery! I was there this week to celebrate my birthday with my mom and her boyfriend. My mom and I both have celiac disease so you wouldn't think we'd choose an Italian Restaurant but I am SO glad I did. I looked at the menu and didn't see anything denoted as gluten free but after reading a handful of reviews on Find Me Gluten Free I had to try it. The meal was absolutely incredible and they even brought out strawberry sorbet as a birthday dessert treat. When I tell you that this is the best sorbet I have EVER had I'm not lying. Our server was absolutely incredible. Izzy was so kind, patient, and pointed out all the items on the menu that could be made gluten free (which was almost everything). The vibe in the restaurant is so nice as well. The fact that they have gluten free noodles is huge! I will definitely be returning. Make sure you make a reservation as they fill up fast!

Our favorite Italian restaurant in Minneapolis, the food is authentic but the atmosphere and incredible hospitality is what makes it feel like Italy! It’s a true neighborhood restaurant, locally owned, yet high class.
Some dishes to try - the Goat Milk Ricotta is so good we get it every time. You can’t go wrong with the pasta, this time I really enjoyed the Rigatoni with the fennel sausage. For desert, i.e. has the absolute best Tiramisu in Minneapolis, served “up”.
It is one of the few places I will let the bartender make me an original craft cocktail (shoutout to Jordan), they also have batched cocktails that are impressive.
Charles Wiltgen
absolutely wonderful from start to finish! friendly and helpful service, delicious cocktails, flavorful and unique food, and a great atmosphere. this is one of the best italian spots in the metro without a doubt!
Amanda Thomas
Absolutely delicious. I've heard good things, but I was a little sceptical walking in. All of that scepticism went away as soon as the waiter greeted us. They didn't rush us to make a decision, and offered up great wine suggestions.
Despite being busy, our food came out quickly. We ordered a few different entrees for the table and shared them family style. Everything was delicious! Thoughtful flavors with reasonable prices.
Will definitely be back!
Adam Wilson
Very tasty, food came out very fast and I really enjoyed the chicken. I wish the menu had a few more options as it was difficult to find something I liked. The server we had was fantastic, wish I could remember her name. The parking here is a challenge so be prepared to try to find a spot.
Oct 2022: had a great visit tonight, excellent server, tasty entrees, wonderful drinks. I stand by my earlier review that the menu is small but tonight we had the pork pasta and loved it. And the value of this place!? $20-25 per entrée, $12 cocktails? Bargain!
Heather K
This spot was fantastic. Service was great, food was good (although was slightly under-salted). Cocktails are on point, wine list is superb, get the affagato. We will be back if we're ever out celebrating again.
Brenda Buelt
I can't say enough great things about the Italian Eatery! I worked with Guiseppe to plan my Goddaughter's Wedding Shower. I highly recommend a Mimosa bar and the Charcuterie Board for special events! Oh and the Chocolate Torte was out of this world. Saluti
Asa Morral
The food is worth the trip no matter how long the drive. Excellent service in a large yet cozy environment. Don't forget to hit the dessert menu.
Jacob Doege
This restaurant was fantastic. The wait staff was helpful and very knowledgeable about the menu. We had the mushroom capelletti and spaghetti Nero followed by tiramisu. The mushroom capelletti definitely stole the show for our meal, it's a small dish but full of savory flavors. The spaghetti Nero was a different experience with the black noodles, the sauce was spicy and the seafood was perfectly cooked. Great experience we will be back.
Sunkanmi Ogunsegha
ie gets a 5 for ambience( music and lights spot on); it gets a 5 for service (our host answered all our questions and she knew every detail about each meal); 4 for the food ( got the spaghetinni nero and the dry rub ribs; the dry rub rib was very flavorful and tender but then it was slightly salty for me). I would definitely be back there again.
Lauren Riggs
This is stellar Italian food. Unique and delightful dishes plus an extensive wine menu! Ordered the calamari for our appetizer and was so tender and delicious, not chewy at all!
Lisa Williams
Our server Nate did great! The food was good overall, smaller portions than you may expect, but I enjoyed myself
Blake H.
Absolutely amazing! If you are in the Twin cities go here. Weather you are local, on vacation, on business, or hell even if you are on death row and have one final meal you must eat here. Not a deep menu but anything you order will be great. Great staff who are spot on knowledgeable about the menu, and super polite. Some of the best Italian I have ever had.
Liz Erickson Monson
Night after night, this place delivers. You will never go home with leftovers, because this place is so good you will eat it all. Appetizers, drinks, mains, it’s all good. Close your eyes and point at the menu to chose.
Rachel Block
The food was delicious! Service was a little slow considering only one server was attending to a large section. When our server attended to our table they were polite and made sure we got exactly what we ordered. They accidentally brought the wrong dessert to our table but comped us for the mistake after bringing out what we ordered. All of the desserts looked good so I wasn't complaining about the little mishap!
It was my first time eating here but my friends commented that the menu was different from the last time they had went. I like a restaurant that has seasonal menus! The portions were big and work well for family-style eating where everything is shared.
Fun fact: The restaurant adds a small surcharge to each check to provide health and wellness for their employees! I find this delightful but I imagine more conservative patrons will find this offensive.
All in all, I would highly recommend this place!
Andrew Lenzi
What an amazing time we had at ie. The drinks were very tasty and the food was just perfect. Can't wait to come back and try more.
Haley Dagenais
We had a great time at ie after other plans fell through. They seated us immediately on the patio and our service was stellar the entire time. The food— incredible. Loved the gelato and short ribs. My partner had the wild boar meatballs and loved them.
Rory Tarrats
Such good food. Rigatoni and the mushroom pasta were definitely highlights. The root veggie salad was delightful, as was the non-alcoholic hibiscus spritzer they have. I didn't feel like drinking and it really fit the bill.
Shino Bartley
Best Italian place in Minnesota. Best tiramisu hands down. The place is warm and cozy, great for a date night or outing with friends. You won’t regret going to this place. I had a NA cocktail and it was so good!!!! Parking is hard during prime time, arrive early. Make reservations on weekends for sure.
Dr. DarthBatHulk
Nothing on the menu is bad at all! Everything's well seasoned and well thought out. The food is fresh and filling!
The wait staff are wonderful and attentive! They will leave you alone to eat your food and not bug you every 5 minutes!
I would recommend this for a small group gathering also good place for a date night or just a nice place to go to in the middle of the week(I recommend Tuesday) night!👍🏾👍🏾
Tj Prall
I.E. is amazing for celebrating special occasions like a 2 year wedding anniversary. Jennifer was our waitress and she did an excellent job of making wine suggestions and talking about the menu. The appetizer, salad, main plate, and dessert was very delicious as we were open to trying different flavors.
Sophie Milstein
100% yes every time. Dishes are made with love, staff is happy and engaging - their competence with wine makes me feel taken care of. This is my happy place. They do need a bathroom remodel though, just sayin.
Erin Swift
Everyone was kind and friendly. Our waitress was extra attentive and let us taste two different wines before ordering. The food was heavenly. Amazing Italian food done very, very well.
Bjorn Olson
Mama mía! Doesn't get much better than this. Knowledgeable waitstaff, amazing food, casual but exciting ambience. Best Italian place I've found for my dollar spent since returning from Italy. Gorgeous flavors.
CT
I really enjoyed the food and atmosphere of IE. I’d describe it as a good take on popular Italian dishes. Prices felt good for what you got. Cocktail prices weren’t bad like you see at a lot of other locations these days ($10 ish compared to $16 ish). Patio was very nice. Will visit again.

Went in for an early New Year's Eve dinner. Staff was cheerful and attentive. We had a bit of a rough start but, it's a crazy night. It all turned out fantastic. And they were kind and gave us a free appetizer for a short wait.
The food was TREMENDOUS! The lamb appetizer was perfectly cooked and seasoned. I also had the pork chop main course with a side of potatoes. Holy moly it was delicious.
I'll be returning!
Jensine Stegenga
The food was amazing- we had the prosciutto and burrata to start and I had the squash ravioli. Absolutely delicious. The drinks were perfect - we tried the house limoncello after dinner as well and I am still thinking about how refreshing it was. The tiramisu was perfect and I think I am full and satisfied for the next week ❤️ as amazing as the food and drinks were, the service was even a step higher- our server was so kind and knowledgeable. So excited to come back again sometime. Thank you!

No pictures with this review, we were too busy eating. :). Went there recently with my daughter and son-in-law. Outstanding food. We had a couple of orders of the eggplant as an appetizer, which completely surprised me. Was nothing like what I expected. Cold vs hot but with the lemon and pine nuts. Damn it was good.
I had the Baked Garganelli. The wild boar meatballs were tender, juicy and delicious as was the Garganelli. This dish is perfect baked. The other outstanding dish was the Mushroom Cappelletti. Creamy and full of flavor.
Daughter is gluten free and they have gluten free pasta options which was perfect.
Highly recommend this place. The *only* small nit I had was that they brought the house bread right before they bought our dinner dishes (wish they would have brought it sooner) and no olive oil with the bread (to be fair, we did not ask for any). Would go again.
Sosocrispy
The food is an experience for the pallet. Italian Eatery has a warm and cozy interior and a very polite staff. I would recommend reservations as they are busy. If you are looking for great food, just go!

I found ie by accident yesterday and wanted to take my wife there for dinner. I’m so happy I stumbled across this restaurant! We had cocktails at the small bar/cafe next door while we waited for our table. I recommend making reservations, the waitlist was an hour and a half, but well worth it. When our table was ready we got the baked garganelli and the pappardelle. The garganelli was gorgeous when it came out, baked to perfection and the boar meatballs were fantastic. Our waiter was really knowledgeable of the dishes and the wine pairings. Dinner was fantastic, we will definitely be back.
Lin Brown
We had the fusilli, rigatoni, cappelletti and the short ribs. Everyone was very satisfied, the ribs were fall off the bone tender and came with roasted root veggies. I loved the rigatoni!
The larger side of the restaurant was very quaint but we sat in the extra room, which really didn't have much character but was fine. Server was good.
Molly Yee
Italian Eatery is one of my favorite restaurants. I love bringing people here for their first time - they are blown away every time.
The goat milk ricotta is so good I dream about it. The shaved root salad is so fresh and refreshing. The pasta is house made - it will ruin all other pasta for you - and the sauces are SO good. My favorites - Ricotta Cavatelli (the house stewed bolognese is to die for!), Spaghetti (add a meatball or two!), and the Rigatoni (that fennel sausage!). For dessert - chocolate olive oil torte all the way!
In addition to delicious food, they have a wonderful bar menu as well. I cannot drink alcohol, so I cannot speak to their wine or cocktails specifically, but their no proof mocktails are SO good - specifically the seasonal house shrub and the charcoal lemonade.
Italian Eatery is my first recommendation to anyone looking for dinner in Minneapolis. I cannot recommend it enough!
CoryAnn K
I have ate here over 10 times. Their food is always spot on amazing. Excellent gluten free options. They have us a special anniversary treat!
Rebecca Manifold
Hard to go wrong! Everything was delicious, quality ingredients, great service and ambiance. We had the Roman meatballs, ricotta & bread, pappardelle pasta, rigatoni, & mushroom cappelletti. All fantastic, but the mushroom dish definitely outshined the rest in unique flavor. We will definitely be back soon!
Steve Rawlins
Excellent service, cocktails, entrees. Pricey but beautiful. Charming patio and passthrough bar atmosphere in summer, more formal interior in winter. I enjoyed Trout Panzanella. Recommended for "fancy night out". "The Cedar" (cocktail) and the dry rub beef short ribs. Fur sharing: Shaved Root Salad or Polenta or prosciutto
Davehead
Service/Staff super friendly. The vibe is nice. The food flavors were good on the dishes we had. The plates need to be prewarmed before placing food on them. I just don't get not serving a warm plate. The Mushroom Cappelletti and Artichoke Risotto were under cooked, so those dishes were hard to finish when they cooled off and fast from a room temperature plate. The Panzanella Trout was good again warm plate would've been great. The lights above the bar (the hanging lights) need a quick wipe off getting a little fuzzy! We did Un Dito before ie opened and the service was great there. Bread & Spread Flatbread was a good shareable while we drank and waited.
Mara Greenebaum
Amazing Italian food for a special occasion! Everything was delicious, and our server took great care of us. Pricey, but worth it.
Andrew O
Top 3 things:
1. 720 day dried prosciutto - amazing
2. Excellent service, really outstanding
3. The Entrees that are not pasta might be the stars of the menu (and the pasta is pretty great)
Things I wish I knew ahead of time:
1. There is a Grand Ole Creamery across the street so I ended up having dessert at IE and then ice cream that night. Oof!
2. The name threw me off, I expected a more standard Italian restaurant and was pleasantly surprised with the superb quality of food and service.
Marlon Blake
A must try Italian restaurant! The red sauce and pasta were delicious
Kris K.
Wow. What an outstanding experience and meal. Our server, Todd, was knowledgable friendly and prompt. We tried the Octopus and the sea scallops with risotto. All items were well paced, fresh, and delicious. I highly recommend this spot for an upscale italian experience. 😄 …
Jordan Kohnen
Incredible atmosphere, food, and service. The mussels were delicious and my pasta dish was so flavorful and rich. It was my birthday and despite passing up on the dessert because I was so full, I was brought this decadent dessert. 🙂 …
Andrea
The food was amazing. We were celebrating my step-daughter's college graduation and the waitress, Jenny, was attentive and able to offer suggestions! The restaurant even treated our table to an extra dessert for the celebration!
Sam Carr
Overall it was a great experience. Food was great. I was recommended the rigatoni by our server Todd. It was outstanding. Todd was also a world class server.
Highly recommend the mussels as an appetizer. The lemon broth at the bottom of the bowl was unreal. Please do yourself a favor and dip the grilled bread in it. Just please do it and you will understand what I mean.
For a cocktail I ordered the Pulumbo, a kombucha type gin drink. Delicious.
11/10 would recommend.
Coyote 50
IE is delicious always and the service is wonderful. They have a great wine list. Their pasta dishes are creative.
Jesse Mckenzie
This place was the best! Great service, great food! Tomas was our server and he was very attentive but not pushy, all around good guy. The food speaks for itself and it's delicious! I would recommend the bucatini and the mushroom cavatelli along with the cauliflower and goat cheese/ fig and bread appetizer. "The Cedar" was a great take on a Manhattan and packed a mean punch. Completely satisfied.
Leon S. Dixon Jr.
The staff was SUPER friendly and helpful.
The food was good!
This was my first visit and I truly enjoyed the experience.
Joyce Fitzgerald
I had a lovely meal here for New Years Eve! The service and food was exceptional, and I am impressed by everything the staff did to make the evening memorable.
Russell O
Nice setting and kind staff. One person in our party has major dietary restrictions and the staff was more than accommodating. We shared several appetizers and one entree and everything was delightful. The Roman meatballs were light and airy but firm. They were flavored just right to complement the sauce. The lamb appetizer was cooked perfectly (very even medium-medium rare) and was marinated perfectly. I could have just eaten the lamb and been happy. The mushroom cappelleti was smaller than expected, but I enjoyed the combination of the cream based sauce and whiskey shoyu.
Richard Gooley
The food is fantastic as well as the staff. The pasta is great. Definitely my favorite Italian food in the Twin Cities.
Issa Keïta
This place is great, excellent pasta and meatballs! My whole family loves coming here and getting their food on. great times!
Alina S
It was absolutely amazing. My boyfriend and I were recommended this place and we were on the fence. Never doubting coming here again. We had a lot of plates to try out. Especially the Octopus! Which was cooked extremely well. The staff were amazing! Asked if we wanted to switch out one of the proteins and they were able to fulfill it. Adam was so wonderful to chat with and to get more knowledge about the foods. He was extremely detailed in explaining each dish!

I got take and bake lasagna with baguette for holiday dinner, best ever! My first time eating here and I'm very impressed!
Emily H
My coworker highly recommended this restaurant so I decided to give it a try! A friend and I went and were really happy we went!
First, who doesn't love a restaurant that gives you free food to start?! I mean really, the roasted chickpeas were a wonderful start!
We shared a bunch of items:
Drinks first:
camp darby - WOW. The fig-honey shrub was WONDERFUL. Highly recommend this cocktail. It's one of the best Gin cocktails I've had.
The cedar - this pretty much an Old Fashioned. It was still done very well!
Food:
octopus - VERY GOOD!
Grilled mussels - We got a good chunk of mussels for the appetizer portion. Highly recommended. Very good broth.
brussels sprouts - YUM. They were well roasted, well seasoned and very tasty!
cavatelli - They definitely know how to do a bolognese! This was very tasty.
Sai Rohit Chimakurthi
I’ve been to this place so many times and it has never disappointed. Highly recommend everyone to go to this place. Their pastas and desserts are delicious!!
Sarah Sue
You hear Italian Eatery and you think, "how unoriginal of a name". I assure you though, their food options are savory and delicious. The staff is friendly, the decor is beautiful and the food is simply amazing. I'll most certainly be making this a usual for me.
John Fogliano
Great atmosphere. Fantastic food quality. Went for my birthday. We are already planning our next trip. The pasta was cooked perfect. Great wine and coffee menu as well.
Craig Larson
This place has continually improved since our first visit years ago. We had the lamb chops, ricotta, and duck sharing plates. The lamb stole the show, but the others were delicious, too. Laid back and friendly service, Ryan made great suggestions. Approachable wine list and very reasonably priced. I think only the Brunello was over $100. Bar La Grassa has some competition!!
Chris Valenty
One of the best Italian restaurants for fresh seafood in Minneapolis! The Octopus & Spaghettini Nero were so good!
josh Frenier
My experience at Italian eatery (commonly referred to as IE) was a festive and joyous occasion. My partner and I came to celebrate our anniversary and we couldn't have made a better choice it seemed as we entered the institution. We started out with phenomenal cocktails (I had the "mules mistress" which I highly recommend!) and then we tried their accordingly famous Mussels and I could taste what all the hubbub was about. Lemon-y garlic buttery bliss it was! And our courteous server made sure we had plenty of bread to get all of the sweet sweet mussel sauce. We had a later reservation and the place seemed to be clearing out, as it seemed they were clearing out the bottom of the broth for my partners "Fagottini". It seriously tasted like bone broth with rubbed mushrooms. Very uninspired flavor however the Ravioli was exquisite and left me wanting more ravioli and less "bone-water". With this being my partners entree, I dove straight into my short rib which found me between heaven and my churches kitchen... I could taste the sweetest, most tender meat and oddly enough, the crock pot we used to cook our churches hot dishes... Still an amazing affair! The service was above and beyond as I wish I could say for the food... I would recommend it for a great night out with some great people and an unforgettable experience... Take that as you will... One love - Josh

Such quality ingredients! Excellent and unique flavors, well-balanced and masterfully combined. Octopus salad was especially memorable - perfect balance of smokiness, light bitterness, acidity, and refreshing mustard.
The drinks were also very pleasant. Hibiscus drink was super fragrant and refreshing, and the espresso was delicious.
What a gem in Minneapolis!
Zachary Zabloski
Amazing food with outstanding service. Saying is true here, you get what you pay for. It is well worth it for fresh pasta and great drinks. Perfect for date night or a night with family.
Khushboo
There are just a handful Italian restaurants that I like in Twin cities. This is definitely one of them. The ambience is good. I will recommend making a reservation during peak times otherwise you can hang out at the bar. I love getting Carbonara here.
Christina Castiglione
Wonderful dining experience and delicious food! My 12 person family was visiting the area and they graciously accommodated our group last minute. The service was impeccable , our waitress (Zoey) served our entire table herself and she was so kind and never missed a beat. She was so accommodating of special requests and alternative dish options. The food was equally as impressive- all of the pastas we ordered were fresh and delicious. As a picky Italian family, everyone thoroughly enjoyed the entire experience and would highly recommend to anyone in Minneapolis.
John Olson
Delicious Italian food that is expertly prepared with a lot of care. Don’t expect to be blown away by interesting and new flavors; it’s traditional Italian done well. The wine list has a good selection of Italian wine to compliment the food. I think the cost-to-value is well-balanced.
My one critique is that the atmosphere and decor is a little confused. It’s simultaneously trying to be modern and hip while maintaining a lot of old-school Italian restaurant artifacts. It’s not offensive, it could just be better.
Bergit
I’m always happy after a visit to ie! The atmosphere is so cozy and inviting. I especially love their ricotta starter, gnocchi pasta, and chocolate torte. Their cocktails are masterfully crafted. The experience here is always lovely. Highly recommend!
Wojtek K
Great food. A bit loud in the restaurant. Nice place. Semolina dumplings were pretty amazing. So were Agnolotti ordered vegetarian. EVoOlutionary cocktail is legit.
Danielle Wachter
Delicious fresh-made pasta. Friendly staff. The entire place has a classy but rustic feel.
We shared the Shaved Root Salad, and it was bright and lovely. The Baked Garganelli was warm, deliciousocus and very filling. The Ravioli was also delicious, but the portion was on the smaller side. Eat it with some bread and you'll be dandy.
Emy D
Wish I had taken pictures, but everything was so good I couldn’t wait to dive in.
I had their Hibiscus Punch mocktail and it was delicious! Such a great summer drink. For dinner I had the mushroom cappelletti and I can honestly say it was one of the best pastas I’ve ever had. I look forward to recommending this place to my friends and coming back in the summer!
Leane Brown
Great place to share small plates with friends. We started with the prosciutto and burrata which was delicious. We shared the apple salad and cauliflower. I am not a big cauliflower person but this may have converted me, the seasoning was amazing. We then shared three pastas-the mushroom, ricotta, and gnocchi. All wonderful. Finally, we finished with the chocolate torte. The slight hint of salt complemented it's richness. Already thinking of all the people I want to bring here!
Christian Carbonara
Had dinner tonight with a friend. From start to finish it was a great experience. The hostesses were very friendly Place was busy and we were seated right away. The Cavatelli was delicious. My friend had the Spaghetti Nero and he said the same. Portion sizes were just the right amount. Our server was fantastic, He came to the table more than once to check on us to make sure everything was ok, Great job guys. Definitely will be back and will recommend to others.
Bradley Hofbauer
Our go-to date night spot. Amazing drinks (try the Angry Calabrian and the Cedar!), amazing pasta (their mushroom dish is my favorite), and the chocolate torte is heaven. Go here. You will not regret it.
Sruthi Venkataramanababu
We truly experienced a fantastic service here, something we have never experienced anywhere in the US till date. And for that I must thanks Shaya, our server who took care of us. At the outset I must say that as described by several people before me, the food here is delicious.
We were a group of 4 and were celebrating my husband’s birthday. We ordered two tomato basil soup to share among the 4 of us. The first act of great service was that they split the 2 soups into 4 different bowls which is not common at all in the US. We also got a goat cheese ricotta for appetizers. We had enquired about the fantastic bread that came with the ricotta and Shaya promised to bring us some more of it along with our entrees. However, being a busy day she couldn’t get us the bread in time and honestly we didn’t mind that very much since we loved the food that we had ordered. For entrees we ordered a Calabrian cauliflower, sphagetti and mushroom cappelletti. All of these tasted great. The mushroom cappelletti was particularly delicious, earthy and strong. It was my favorite dish of the evening.
We felt like service was on the slower side and things were taking some time but to make up for it our server Shaya gave us a loaf of the bread that we loved so much to take home as well as waived off our soup and appetizers from the check. She really went above and beyond anything we expected and did something to make our evening truly special and spectacular. Thanks once again Shaya! My mom is very much looking forward to eating the loaf of bread !
Having said all that, the restaurant is actually very reasonably priced for the quality of food and the fantastic service. We will definitely be back here again at the earliest opportunity.
PS: The food was so delicious that I actually forgot to take any pictures of it.
John Hiebert
This is a great local restaurant and SO happy it replaced the old pizza joint that used to take up the same place. Great service and great food with a great bar. Food is not inexpensive and wouldn't recommend for families. The only place I've tried octopus which I didn't care for, but that was because I guess I don't like octopus (those who do say that this place does it right). However, the team there quickly took notice and took it off our bill, despite our persistent comments that it was unnecessary nor desired. Service like that deserves a good review. Definitely a good date night place.
Lori I.
Wonderful pastas made fresh in house. Scrumptious desserts and limoncello! Thank you to our wonderful server Erin and all the staff for being so gracious and accommodating. We appreciate you and will be back.
James Nelson
Our server said, " You two will become regulars." We do not doubt her prognostication. This restaurant is a gem in south Minneapolis. Service was informed and friendly; the food was exceptional: The Mushroom Cappelletti, Wild Boar Meatballs, and the Charred Green Beans (all recommended by our server) were prepared and presented perfectly. If you like your pasta made on the premises and served al dente, you will love I.E.'s offerings. We were delighted with the choices and look forward to regular visits.

great old fashioned here. The best kind of food here, we love coming and we come often!
Tiffany Stefonick
Italian Eatery never disappoints. They have such an amazing array of apps, entrees, drinks, and desserts. The portions are perfect so food is rarely wasted. The staff are always so kind and go the extra mile. Always pleased with the experience here! I’d give more than 5 stars if possible.
Andrew Kassan
There's no better place in MN to get Italian food. When you go, have everyone order something different and share everything. You'll need a reservation so plan ahead!
George Gonnella
Well, as an Italian from greater boston who moved locally in January, I cant believe it took this long to find IE. Maybe we just got lucky, but every dish was fantastic. 3 lamb lollipops for $19 as an app, cooked perfect. Watermelon salad, wonderful. Roman meatballs were totally legit for me. Spaghetti with pomodoro tomato sauce $14 was simply delicious. The mushroom pasta (farfalle?) dish was so flavorful it was hard to stop.
Strongly recommend, see you a lot this winter...
Jenaye Coleman
Top 5 italian in the Twin Cities. I have loved every experience here. My favorite menu item has to be the Mushroom Cappelletti -- so yummy! The Angry Calabrian is likely my favorite smokey/spicy mezcal drink in the city.
Rosemary Coleman
We had a wonderful experience in the summer of 2021, just loved our meal experience. Summer of 2022 was sub-par. Our favorites were new recipes that we did not enjoy and smaller portions.
Amanda
From the food to the drinks to the service, everything was amazing! We were celebrating a birthday and almost every staff member we encountered, wished my fiancé a happy birthday.
Brandon
Everything is homemade here and you can tell by the taste! The small area of outdoor seating was great and had soft music playing.
Christopher Bayard
Good service. Great staff. Italian food so good it tasted like sugar is added to the pasta.
Glenn Dworsky
Food clearly sat in the heaters too long. My pasta stuck together and hardly any sauce. or meat. Not worth 20-22 bucks.. for a plate of food..
beder dore
The general manager was very awesome and he was really nice and did welcome
Us with open arms. The food was 10/10 definitely will come back again.
Negma Farah
We went here last night for dinner and it was quite possibly the best Italian meal we have ever had.
Pat Addy
Good hearty Spaghetti. I like the fennel sausage as a topping. The bread is excellent.
Good service! Worth a visit for sure.
Mike Dylo
Visiting from out of town with the family (two kids: 3 and 7). We loved this place. They had a kids menu so that was nice. You won't be disappointed.
Kevin V
Went there for brunch - great service and ambiance! Food tasted fresh and flavorful!
Brian Schorn
Reasonable price, amazing service, amazing food. Sazeracs are good, wine is good, and the ambiance was killer. Highly reccomend a good coffee after your meal. The Gibraltar is delicious!

This place is Great. I had the Ricotta Cavatelli (Bolognese meat Sauce) it was Amazing. The Meatballs, Gnocchi, and Mushroom Cappelletti are also Delicious.
I have to put this as a definite top Italian Restaurant's in the City. I have rated my experience, though I've heard another say the food served was not fresh.
Kate LaVoie
We’ve eaten here twice and had exceptional meals both times. We ate here tonight and I could live on the burrata plate. The meatballs were fab. I thought we’d be too full from our apps to eat our pasta entrees but we wolfed them down. Gnocchi was pillow soft. Rigatoni with sausage—fantastic. We are moving soon and I am crushed we didn’t discover this place sooner and come all the time.
Henry Balensifer
Portions are right sized, and staff is professional.
We all shared our 6 different dishes, and frankly they were all good. I highly recommend the meat dishes, as they are beyond flavorful. It's a dance of flavors that gets more interesting the longer you chew, and gives you the satisfying denouement you crave.
Not inexpensive, it is well worth the cost.
Eric Moen
Phenomal experience. Delicious food. Our waiter, Adam G, was the best waiter we have ever had at any restaurant. He perfectly described the dishes and made it so easy for us to decide what we wanted to order. Thank you to the kitchen for an outstanding meal and to Adam for facilitating a wonderful dinner!
Timothy Graham
Overall a very good experience here for my girlfriend's birthday. Great service from Antony, he was super knowledgeable about the menu. The drinks, pasta, and gelato were all delicious and very well balanced. Portion sizes looked a bit small at first, but the food was incredibly rich and filling. The restaurant definitely wasn't quiet, but it was cozy and had nice ambiance. Overall, would recommend for special occasions.
Chris Childers
The food and service here were excellent. The ambiance is warm and inviting. I was told the wait for a table on Saturday at 5:30 PM was going to be one hour. I was seated much more quickly than that, however I was rudely told I must be out of my table within 1 hour 15 minutes since I did not have a reservation. The owner has posted on Google "The best nights are usually unplanned, random and spontaneous." (see attached screenshot) I must say from my experience the restaurant does not cater to individuals seeking a spontaneous experience. Please make sure to get a reservation.

It was absolutely wonderfulI I made reservations for my boyfriend and I, We had fun and got a little drunkie! We shared this amazing dessert called tiramisu!😋
Emily Braverman
Absolutely loved the atmosphere in the restaurant. Great wine selection, amazing service.
Now lets talk menu, I started off with a Calabrian Cauliflower - I asked them to make sure its extra grilled/cooked and it ended up being spot on. A lot of flavors, a little bit spicy and very sour and lemony - I loved it! Im actually craving it today.
I then had a Chop Salad - this is where they lost a star. I was excited for it, but unfortunately it was extremely over-salted. I left most of it in my plate because it was too salty, I had to drink a cup of water after each bite. Not sure if it always comes like that or the kitchen mistakenly added too much salt. It was almost inedible. The salami also came diced.. i thought it would be more appealing it it came sliced on the side, as well as the olives. Overall, not a huge fan of the salad.. but it has potential.
I finished my night with some Mushroom Cappelletti. This dish was amazing! Filled with flavors.. just perfect!
I took home some wine, ice cream and Tiramisu. All very tasty!
I definitely recommend trying the homemade ice cream.
Colin Meyers
We went here for my spouse's birthday. I had the Wild Boar meatballs and my wife had the Trout. They also have wonderful desserts, an excellent selection of cocktails and wine. The wait staff was very friendly
John Beale
What might possibly be the best italian food in all of the mid-west. If not some of the best food in the twin cities. Modern nods to classic dishes with some fantastic sharing dishes upfront. Do those. Just phenomenal.
Vanessa Boualouang
I cannot say enough good things about this place! Took my family here for a small celebration. The atmosphere was classy and cozy. The food was absolutely delicious from the appetizers, entree's to the sides. The wine list was equally as impressive! Our server was quick, incredibly attentive and friendly - I wish I remembered her name (starts with an M). I will definitely be returning!
Nathan Anderson
Went with family for the first time tonight. Late birthday and mother's day gathering. Service and server was A+ made us feel special even with a difficult table taking attention away from us. Thanks for the great dinner.
Susan Peters
I ate dinner on the patio with a friend last night. We both enjoyed the braised short ribs with root vegetables. It was as tender as could be. We also shared a side of roasted zucca (zucchini). Wonderful! Our masked waiters, Enrique and Jordan, attended to our every need. I felt safe and satisfied and would highly recommend IE.
Vanessa Carrara
This place has my heart! The seasonally-changing ambiance welcomes any occasion, from casual late-night drinks and nibbles to full-coursed meals celebrated in true Italian fashion... I’m left filled to the brim with a smiling face and a happy heart, contagiously caught from the knowledgeable and friendly staff and the thoughtfully curated and approachable menu that continues to surprise as I travel my way through it!
Tim Kennedy
We have visited ie several times and it has always been spot-on. The cocktails are thoughtful and well crafted, as are the dishes from starters to desserts. Tonight we split the watercress cici salad, baked garganelli, agnolotti, and the chocolate olive oil torte. While the agnolotti stole the show, every bite was beyond satisfying. As a bonus, we enjoyed it all on their charming patio. Buono!
Silvester Guadiana
Even in these trying times, i.e. continues to innovate and elevate the dining experience in South Minneapolis.
The walk up barbecue service is phenomenal. Do yourself a favor, order anything on that menu, get yourself a beverage and spot on the upper deck, and watch the world roll by.
Adam Hansen
This is one of our go-to restaurants for birthdays and special occasions. The food is always top notch and the staff never seems to be in a bad mood. They're tiramisu is some of the best I found in the city and I'll never get tired of it.
Konrad Case
My wife, daughter and I had a great time tonight. The food was delicious 😋 My Spaghettini Nero was incredible! Can't wait to come back 💯 …
Ryan Horstman
Fresh pasta and really friendly service. Everything was very flavorful. The only knock is they need more sound deadening as it was very loud and hard to hear my wife from across the table.
Javier Barberena
Excellent place with great menu and great service. Outdoor seating is a must in a great sunny day in Minneapolis. The parking lot is small, but there is enough parking on the street
Samantha Boodoo
Delicious food and a great atmosphere. Some of my favorite Italian in the twin cities. Our waiter Nate had unbelievable service and recommendations. I would highly recommend this restaurant and ask for Nate!
Vida Dam
The place was fabulous! We came by after disc golfing so we're not dressed for the occasion... But it all turned out okay! The food was fabulous! The lamb chop appetizers is to die for! The two pasta we have was delicious, drinks were fabulous, dessert was fabulous, and most importantly the service and atmosphere was amazing! Will totally comeback here for any occasion!
Jane Butler
We love everything about ie- Italian Eatery. The food, service & ambiance are always stellar!!
Austin Hurlock
This restaurant does the best job of approaching upscale without being too expensive or stuffy. Their food well prepared, plated, and tasty. The drinks are interesting. The wait staff are attentive and cheery. The location is amazing and their newly built out patio is better than ever, just in time for summer. Check it out!
Catherine Miller
We went to ie a few weeks ago for my mom's birthday. The food, service, and atmosphere was top notch! Our server Erin (I believe that was her name) was incredible, and she knew the menu inside and out. I am vegan, and Erin took the time to go over menu items that could be modified to be vegan friendly. I got the spaghetti with added veggies, and it was amazing! Its is so wonderful to have a restaurant that is able to modify food options to be vegan so we could all enjoy a great meal together. Will 100% be back, and recommending this as one of our favorite places for dinner and drinks! Keep up the fantastic work!
Lauren Cooke
What a cool place! We celebrated our anniversary here and loved the ambiance, food and service!
Marnie Fischer
Fsntastica... the best Italian restaurant In which I have ever eaten. Since I like Italian food, I have tried many restaurants locally and, in my travels, nationally and internationally in Italy. Nothing compares to the quality of food, the taste of the food, the ambience, and the service we received from the waitress, Sarah. My husband even raved about the food and he doesn't even like pasta (too much macaroni and cheese while he was growing up). The price of the food was also very reasonable considering the quality and atmosphere.
Ryan Ungs
Awesome experience!
We were a little late making it to our reservation, but they accommodated us with no issues.
Our server was fantastic! We never felt rushed or had much downtime in between courses, the pacing was great. We were offered drinks, appetizers, wine, refills, and bread. We often order food for the table (family style) and share and some places really struggle with the concept, but our server was great in that regard. She brought out individual plates and silverware for each of us for each course and serving spoons on the dishes.
The food was great, we tried 4 of the pastas and everyone had a different favorite - mine was the cavatelli. Wish there was a little more robust dessert menu, something like a cheesecake would have been a nice way to finish the meal. We shared a chocolate torte and a panna cotta and both were tasty.
It is a little pricy, but you pay for what you get, IMO. For an intimate place with quality dishes in south minneapolis, I certainly didn't expect a cheap meal. We'll continue to come here for special occasions, bdays, anniversaries, etc.
Joshua Kuether
From the moment we walked in the door, through the moment we left we felt welcome and cared for by all the employees we interacted with. The hosts were very kind when they checked us in and showed us to our table. Our waiter, Todd, was phenomenal. They made very good recommendations for the food and drinks specials and regular/seasonal menus items. It was my first time eating there and was my dates first time eating fresh pasta anywhere and he and I both really enjoyed the experience! Will definitely return :)
Juan Saldana
I was very pleased at the service, and food preparation. What I ordered was very delicious and tastefull. I would return on my next visit to Minneapolis.
Stephanie Hanson
Amazing place. Their ambiance is phenomenal. Their staff is welcoming and attentive. Their food is delicious. I recommend the beef entree—it’s superb. The gluten-free chocolate torte with pistachios is divine and is one of many reasons this place has become a date night favorite. They have delicious coffees and drinks, too. Highly recommend.
Micah Allred
Wonderful food, the mushroom cappelletti is hands down the best dish on the menu. Service is always great, very fast too!
Kristen Hayashi
Nice patio and good food. Loved the Mushroom Cavatelli.
Barry Onufrock
First time here on recommendation. We were not disappointed. Excellent food, knowledgeable waiter made it a memorable evening. Just a little confused about how much to order, what was dish size. The house specialty the mushroom catalonni was superb. I also had a lobster rigatoni which was a Valentine's day holdover, absolutely delicious. We will return.
Pam Kuepper
It was difficult to decide on any one dish. We decided to eat family style and share an appetizer, 3 dishes and a dessert. It was a beautiful meal with wonderful service and great ambiance!
Anthony Naprstek
Had a wonderful date! Food was so good I wanted to order another entree before my third bite. Scenery was perfect and mood setting in the right way. And the staff was polite and did a good job of recommending wine with each of our entrees. Will definitely go back soon and recommend others do the same!
Kathy Skrypek
We had such a lovely evening at the community table with excellent service and delicious food. A true gem in the neighborhood!
Yvonne M
I almost don't want to write a review (my little secret). This place has great food and excellent service. We always order the octopus for starters (we've ordered this many times now). Very tasty! I can't even recommend one entree. We've tried all of the pastas and love them all! My husband always starts with the Cedar (cocktail). Our frequent dining guests typically start with the Camp Darby. They also have an excellent wine list.
The staff are very friendly. We have encountered many and all are more than helpful.
Here's a not-so-secret secret: they not only have a great little patio, but also 4 chairs at the bar outside (they open the window when weather permits). Fantastic bartenders!
tim neely
One of the only place I have ever eaten I wish I could give 6 stars. The food was perfection. Each dish felt very "from scratch" and very creative in terms of flavour profile. There were 5 of us so we got a chance to sample a good bit of the menu. The mushroom pasta dish was mind blowing. The Gnocchi was very fresh, everything we tried was first rate. The drinks were perfect and served to order. Then there was the waitress. Oh my word. If you have the pleasure of being served by Monica you are in for a real treat. She was wonderfully conversational, had the most beguiling eyes and was almost telepathic in her server skills. For real. EAT here, ask for Monica.
Madison Foerderer
I had never heard of ie before my friend gave us a gift card to go. I'm glad we went. The food was great and so was the service. The drinks were really fun.
Natalie J
We went on a Sunday evening, we were seated quickly and served quickly. Our server was very helpful, she explained some popular dishes and what she liked. The cocktails were very good and they have a great selection of booze. The only down side is that I paid $18 for a bowl of great pasta with mediocre sauce. To sum it up, it was just underwhelming.
I’ll go back again for apps or drinks but I don’t be revisiting the pricey pasta.
John Madison
Incredible. Outstanding. The best meal I've had in probably forever. Not even kidding. First, let me start by saying my partner and I ate here for the first time on Monday (02/07/2022), and we got take out. A good friend of mine got me a giftcard for my birthday the previous month, and we finally got around to using it. We wanted a night in at home, and decided to use it and get carry out. I honestly didn't have any expectations other then I wanted Italian food and I wanted to eat at home. Wow, I'm so happy we picked ie.
This is the best Italian food, if not just food in general that I've ever eaten in my entire life. I've had half a dozen of visits to Italy in search of the best Italian food (that is not ridiculously expensive) usually by the guide of a Rick Steve's, Frommer's, or Lonely Planet book and although a lot of the places recommended in those guides were good, they still pale in comparison to the outstanding cuisine of Italian Eatery in Minneapolis.
Who would have thought that the best Italian food I would ever eat would not actually be in Italy, but rather 5 minutes from my home in Minneapolis.
I don't even know what to say other the GO HERE. I give you my word that this place is incredible, and I didn't even have their food for dine in. I still can't stop thinking about it, and it's five days later.
My partner and I ordered four thing off the menu....Four life changing, decadent, incredible things. We try not to eat meat so all four of the dishes were vegetarian.
We ordered:
The Shaved Root Salad - Wow. Thinly sliced beautiful root veggies, fresh greens, and the best dressing I've ever had on a salad; a creamy, citrussy nectar that complimented the salad so perfectly.
The Calabrian Cauliflower - I can't even tell you how good the chili oil sauce was...Simply divine. The cauliflower was cooked perfectly with a delicious melted cheese on top. My partner and I order cauliflower anything wherever we go, this was by the best we've ever had.
The Spaghetti - The best dang spaghetti I've EVER eaten in my life, and spaghetti is one of my all time favorite dishes. Oh my goodness, the noodles...fresh, cooked to perfection, flavorful, HEAVEN! The sauce was to die for. I never knew such a simple pasta dish could reach this caliber. I will be craving this dish frequently in my future, and I shall respond to that craving willingly.
The Mushroom Cappelletti - Wow. This dish is rich in all the best ways possible. The sauce is incredible, and the cappelletti was cooked to perfection. We couldn't finish this one, and ate the leftovers two days later and it was still AMAZING.
Thank you, Italian Eatery for the best meal of my life.
We love you!

We love this restaurant. We discovered this restaurant during the pandemic when we were supporting local businesses.
Everything we have tried has been wonderful. The one dish we have fallen in love with is the lamb chops. They are so good that you won't wait to use a knife and fork. My wife and I grab them by the bone and eat them like we're at the state fair. This is embarrassing to admit but they are just that tasty. I am sure we will use utensils when we are back to eating in the restaurant.
Recently I tried the tomato soup. This is hands down the best tomato soup I've had. When you take your first spoonful, you'll understand why the soup is so special. Enjoy!
Gianni Quilici
Some of the best Italian food in the twin cities. They have delicious fresh pasta, bright flavorful salads, plenty of shareable dishes, and an amazing kids menu. Top notch food! The decor inside is charming and cozy but, if you feel adventurous, try their awesome outdoor bar or patio.
Andrew Erickson
Outstanding service and food. I was able to get Branzino fish here which I haven't been able to find anywhere else since traveling abroad. It was expertly prepared, evidently by a highly skilled chef. The pasta is perfect, the sauces they create are delicious, and everything I've tasted here is an explosion of flavors and textures. Whether you want a comfortable neighborhood spot to frequent or a destination for a special occasion, this is the place for both. I highly recommend this restaurant.
Jacob Mitzel
Lovely food! Great staff! Always something new!
Jack Thunstrom
The pasta is incredible! Great vibe inside and out, great staff, too. This is the spot!!
Andrea Kyle
Great food, just would not recommend the gnocchi. Loved the burrata and ambiance.
What a perfect spot for a romantic dinner. Beautiful little place. We sat at the bar, but still had a killer time. Most disappointing thing was the gnocchi because it was the noodles and olive oil pretty much. Tiramisu is great and the service is really accommodating
Luke Klugherz
Beautiful ambiance with string-lit patio even though adjacent to cedar street. Our waitress was warm, friendly, and prompt. Smaller portion size for the price made up for by robust flavors. Somewhat on the pricier side if you want to enjoy some wine as well, but overall worth it in my book. Will be back!
Allison Suhan Eggers
Fantastic! Food, drinks, atmosphere is all amazing. So glad to have this place in the neighborhood!
Marcos Carvalho
Great atmosphere and food.
Sami Mir
If you are looking for great Italian food, make reservations at ie. I have been to this restaurant many times and it has always been an amazing experience. The food is delicious and it's very lively.
Jade Cain
Husband and I came for dinner celebrating our wedding anniversary. The lamb starter is incredible, I had the sea bass and he the scallops- both were perfectly done. As others have said, the service was attentive and the ambiance is relaxing and intimate. Will definitely be back to try the pasta.. every item looked delicious. Thanks I.E!
Ben Lamm
Excellent food! Pasta made in house was amazing. Had scallops and risotto which was also wonderful. They do a great job at making both their indoor and outdoor space feel cozy yet safe. Would get 5 stars except drinks are a little wonky.
Valerie Emery
Italian Eatery is an amazing neighborhood restaurant! It has a warm atmosphere, a beautiful outdoor patio and great staff. We started with the Ricotta app and the Meatballs. The ricotta is so light, and the meatballs were tender.
We shared a watermelon salad, the mushroom capalletti and short ribs are always our choices and we added an order of gnocchi. The gnocchi was fluffy and swimming in a butter sauce- the dishes were all rich but the portions are perfect, you can try lots of things then!
Matt Holen
Went for brunch on Father's day and the service was great. Drinks were very tasty and thought was clearly put into their recipes. Food was incredible and very reasonably priced. Will certainly be back to try the dinner menu.
Adam Twardowski
Outstanding food, service, and value. The outdoor setup is really well planned and offers a wonderful ambiance.
Anna Gizzi (Atlas)
I loved this place at first but I expected them to rotate their menu and drink offerings based on what’s in season. I have been here three times and am already bored with what they have. If you’re going to have a small menu, change it up seasonally.
Sean Conley
We had some extraordinary food, and the service made it really special. The steak is a modest size, but every bite is incredible and even the little side salad was packed with flavor. More polenta than a grown man can eat, and whatever those deep fried chickpeas were.... addicting! Lemonade and charcoal sounds like a strange drink, but get it. Every bit of the experience was great. We'll definitely go back.
Leora Green
Not only was the food good but our waitress was thee best. We brought our mother their to celebrate our parents 40th anniversary since our father had also recently passed, we wanted to bring her here to still celebrate. Our waitress Erin went above and beyond the call of service! Gave us water to place the flowers in we brought our mom and even bringing out gelato with a hand written note and candle. She found out our father had passed and her compassion was more than we could’ve asked for! THANK YOU SO MUCH! I look forward to eating here again!!
Mikaela Ehrhardt
My husband and I brought my mother in law here while she was visiting from England. We wanted her to get a feel for what great Minneapolis dining is like and Italian Eatery was perfect! The food was amazing, the atmosphere was great, and our server Todd was very knowledgeable and friendly. In fact, all the staff were really warm, friendly, and attentive. My mother in law has a garlic allergy and we were a little concerned about finding food that she could eat, but they were extremely accommodating and we had no problem at all. I also felt that the price was very fair for the quality of food and service. Thank you for a great experience!
Kevin Colaco
In a word amazing...go in a group so you can try everything...or go often 😎 …
Bonnie Gleason
Excellent service, great atmosphere, and Amazing menu. Went for a birthday celebration and we were treated like family. Our server was very knowledgeable about the menus and knew exactly what to suggest. The manager was very nice and offered complimentary Proseco. It's very rare that everything we order we love. Every dish and drink was fantastic. New favorite spot.
Spike Maul
Was there this evening for a birthday party; all courses were pre-ordered. There must have been 4-5 courses that came to the table. ALL of it, each course was great. We had a noodle dish, then meatballs, then beef with roasted vegies, and then burnt chicken. I'd say that each course was better than the last but all were great equally. Best dining experience ever! Servers were excellent. But whoever runs that kitchen and creates these dishes...I can't say how pleased I was with this evening.
Michael Metzler
The food and service were excellent. Very nice patio, where we ate. Indoors looked very nice as well, with an indoor/outdoor bar area.
Tess Huber
Every detail was delicious. The ambiance is trendy yet creative and fresh. The bread is spectacular. The Apple Shrub is one of the best nonalcoholic drinks I've ever had. Our entrées were expertly flavored. The seafood is never this good in the Midwest. And dessert had a fascinating and delightful twist. The service was spot on.
Kyah Hayek
I hadn't been in this location since Carbone's was in it - so YEARS ago.
I was blown away by the decor, menus, and professionalism of the staff. Definitely will be going again soon, but maybe dressed a little nicer than Yoga pants and a tshirt :)
Kimberly Sandbulte
Delicious Italian food, with some other influences. We had the octopus, the root salad, mushroom cappelletti, and the beef short rib. Our server was great, he offered advice on our order at our request. Atmosphere is classy casual, about what you expect from a modern Italian restaurant.
Claire Kaehr
Wonderful little spot! The cocktails were like none I’ve ever had, super unique and fantastic. Food was great and really reasonably priced for the area. The Semolina Dumplings and Calabrian cauliflower dishes were out of this world and our server, Cody, was amazing. All the staff was super friendly and you could tell they enjoyed their jobs. It was packed by the time we ended our dinner but we were not rushed at all and were able to enjoy our evening. We will definitely be going back.
Sam Overfors
Italian Eatery can be described like this:
Heaven is a pie. God cut a slice of said pie and named it Italian Eatery.
Fable Hill
The ambiance is very pleasant, and service was prompt and friendly. We sat at the communal table, which was fun. The food was absolutely delicious, my date had the wild boar meatballs and I had the mushroom cappelletti. The only reason it's three stars is the wild difference in portion sizes. I ordered the large of the mushroom dish and ended up with maybe eight or ten small shells stuffed with hole mushrooms. Again, delicious, but a very small portion. My date, on the other hand, got three meatballs somewhere between golf ball and tennis ball size and a decent portion of pasta. Most of the other large size entrees I saw going out seemed closer to my date's scale than my own, so I think I just was unlucky with my choice. Still, it was disappointing.
Char Terrana
Excellent food, creative and tasty. Excellent service, relaxed, no one is rushing. We loved it. Decided at the last minute to get dessert and so glad we did! Not too sweet, perfect medley of flavors.
Renae Suzanne
This place is amazing. The food is fantastic. I recommend their cappuccino. Our waiters Kenny and Adam were incredible, friendly and knowledgeable. They made our visit even better, 100% recommend.
Kathy Maxwell
I love this place. Fair warning, the portions are small and rather expensive for the size, but it is all delicious. They have a great patio. I would say skip the cocktail, they are pricey and pretty standard, and instead get an appetizer or dessert. My favorite Italian food in the twin cities.
Kelly Behr
Amazing food & atmosphere. Came in for a date night with a reservation (Friday night) and had incredible service, food, and drinks. We started with the Prosciutto board (outstanding), and then had an order of the lobster spaghetti and mushroom cappelletti. Perfect portions and authentic quality. Definitely coming back and hopefully a less rainy day because their patio is a 10/10!
Lindsay Hedberg
Homemade pasta daily. Servers will make honest recommendations. It's not pretentious though I did have to Google several ingredients in drinks and the food. We try to come here at least once a year. Usually for anniversary or birthday. Consistently amazing.
Lori Gustafson
Food was good, I liked the flavor of my spare rib however it was a bit over cooked and my piece had quite a lot of fat on it. For the price it was just OK. Was really hoping to be knocked out by this place. I tried my boyfriends' spaghetti and meatball and loved it, with the exception that I would have liked more sauce. Still I wish I would have gotten that instead. Service was great! Also I loved the host, very nice and personable.
Maren Thorstad
I had such a great experience! My server Aubrey was awesome, the food was incredible, and I was very comfortable with their table spacing. Order the mushroom cappelletti and prosciutto & burrata. You won't be disappointed.
Rachel Dougherty
I sure miss going to IE in person. I love the atmosphere, the cocktails and of course the food. But tonight IE delivery was sure awesome. I recognized the server delivering it and the food was great as usual. The lasagna was SO good and the mushroom cavatappi as tasty as ever. We loved the apple butter with the brussels sprouts. Thank you for a great, stress free meal at home IE!
Dale Raasch
Service was excellent! The outdoor patio was comfortable with a nice vibe. The scallops were perfectly cooked and delicious. Had the mushroom pasta and wanted to order more it was so good. The limoncello (90fay) was very tasty and very pricey but other than that it was a great dining experience.
Christine Pheneger
I've been to i.e. several times now and have had great experiences each time. The staff are always friendly and knowledgeable, always recommending a great dish or drink. The atmosphere is unlike any other restaurant I've ever been to. Every nook and corner is decorated so beautifully - even the bathroom is just gorgeous! And last but definitely not least, the food is to die for. Especially the goat cheese ricotta. I have loved every single thing I've ordered, and I always leave i.e. excited for my next visit. Well done guys!
Mark Yackley
One of our favorite neighborhood restaurant. Food is well crafted and delicious. If you are lucky to have available, they make their own Nocino and Lemoncello which are both quite amazing. Very knowledgeable Bartenders too.
Chelsea Walter
What a great place for a date night! The patio ambience was perfect! Our server Monica had great suggestions for us and was so sweet! Plus it's right in our hood. We can't wait to go back and try the rest of the menu!
Robert C
We really enjoyed our meal here. The specialty cocktails were fantastic and unique. Appetizers and pasta dishes are spot on. The asparagus side was by far our favorite option . The outdoor seating looks great, but there is a different menu out there.
Alexis Reece
The atmosphere here is amazing, and good for a date night. Cozy bar and tables. The food is the same. Handmade, warm, and cozy options that make you feel like you're in your italian grandmothers kitchen making pasta. The sauce is incredible, good drink/wine selection. We picked up one night during COVID and it was just as good to go, it did seem the portions may be a bit smaller as the salad my husband and I could barely share but it was still all amazing.
Nicholas Brown
I have waited far to long to visit this place. My wife and I went in for a late dinner, and were nothing short of impressed. The goat cheese ricotta, peach salad with candied walnuts, and polenta were exceedingly good. Spaghetti was also wonderful. The server recommended his favorite mash-up of pasta and sauce which was quite good. Oh and the Moscow mule I had was probably one of the best I've ever had. Even her shrub was great. Service was not too pushy, but attentive at the same time. Ambiance is great, and I really can't say enough about our experience as a whole. If you're on the fence- DO IT!
Adrian Lundeen-Hornung
The pasta dishes I've had here are fantastic. Last time I was there, I ordered a beef entree that came out very dry and unappetizing. The staff were super accommodating and made sure I got a suitable replacement. If you like craft beer, be sure to try the Italian craft that's on the tap rotation, they might have something unique.
Nadia Fanou
I had a great experience from the host to the server. The food was nice and I can't complain they made me feel special on my day.
Sierra Morris
For the past two weeks, my husband and I have order Italian Eatery one night a week for takeout, and we have been so impressed by the quality of the food! Everything has been so delicious, especially the bolognese, mushroom stuff pasta, and the short rib. We are definitely excited to try more items on the menu! Would definitely recommend!
Lindsey Parod
Excellent experience on our first visit. Our server was top notch and provided great recommendations from start to finish (including some yummy cordials). We had the octopus starter, squid ink fettuccine, and mushroom pasta. All were so flavorful and unique. We also loved the atmosphere and music. Will definitely become frequent visitors of this place!
Kalynd Parrish
The ambiance was so glorious! Love the woodland vibe, tunes, and wispy floral decorations! The food was light, well prepared, and so quick to table! They make their own limoncello, I recommend the 90 day age and some tiramisu- you won't be disappointed!
Sarah Larson
Well, I really wanted to like this place. The design is great, they've spent a lot of money on the decor, menus, website and rebuilding the space. The service is fantastic, and their specialty cocktails are quite good. Unfortunately both my boyfriend and I were disappointed with the food. The charred octopus is delicious, which was nice, but the other dishes we ordered (meatballs and snapper) were bland and underwhelming for the price. The flavor of the short ribs was decent, but they were over cooked. I'm sure the restaurant can improve, it is fairly new, but I think more attention needs to be paid to the most important thing- the food.
Miranda Cain
The food and service was impeccable! We got the mussels, prosciutto and burrata, mafaldine, baked garganelli, tiramisu, and pistachio gelato. The cocktails were beautiful and tasty. We are definitely coming back to try the rest of the menu!
Forrest Rhoads
Wow, a spectacular find! You know a place is good when the parking lot is completely filled on a Wednesday night at 8pm. Really good food. Our party had both pasta and fish. Superb.
Carissa Arens
This place was great. Nice atmosphere, charming but unobtrusive staff. The gnocchi was wonderful (don't get the small dish). Gobbled up the fried chickpeas. Delicious bread. My date loved the mushroom stuffed pasta. Will go back again for sure.
Luke Waddell
Never have I been to a place so welcoming, friendly, and just homely! My girlfriend and I came in for our anniversary dinner, the hostesses were very polite and welcoming, Adam our server was absolutely amazing! He shared my excitement I have for food, and we talked a bunch about trying new things and everything! Talking about the food, it is absolutely delightful! A great price for the amount and quality you are getting! The manager, Calder, was also an amazing and friendly face! Who was very polite and helped make this experience the absolute best I've ever had in a while! This is a definite togo spot if you're visiting the twin cities or minnesota, for any occasion! My girlfriend even asked them to write a special occasion card, and they fullflled her request, even going extra making it better!
Thank you all so much! I'll definitely be coming here much more often in the future!
Kellie Riley
Excellent! Service was great and friendly. We tried a few appetizers, the house made ricotta was my favorite! Then the pasta, yum! Made by hand and cooked perfectly. Highly recommend for groups and date night. I will be going back!
Bryan Entzel
Our third visit and we are more and more impressed with every visit. The food and atmosphere are top notch. The staff goes out of their way to be polite, peppy and personable. We were there for a friend's birthday and unknown to us, his mother-in-law called the restaurant from FL to treat him and his wife to dinner. The staff was so funny how they played it out and helped make it happen. Had the snapper last time and the squid fettuccini this time. Both great! Also have tried the gnocchi and the mushroom tortellini, and those are next on my list. Also, I have a dairy limitation and an alert to peppers and the staff has been above and beyond helpful talking to the kitchen to see what the chef recommended at our first visit. Honestly everything I've had has caused me zero issues. Very clean eating. Love it! Couple
Of dishes are smaller portions. That would be my only heads up.
Katherine Merrill
Italian eatery is absolutely phenomenal. I ordered takeout from here recently, and the experience was delightful. They offer curbside pickup, and our food was delivered to our car right on time. The spaghetti and cavatelli dishes were incredible - flavorful and fresh. We also got the salad and brussels sprouts, which I highly recommend. Italian eatery is a smooth operation delivery amazing Italian eats - Keep up the good work!
Jocelyn Bulger
We went to ie for a friend's birthday last night and the drinks, food, and service were all amazing! Our server, Troy, was super helpful, giving us a rundown on the menu and recommending drinks to pair with our food. He even brought us a complimentary sorbet for the birthday gal. We will definitely be back for the mushroom cappelletti and baked garganelli!
Jennifer Nelson
I've been here multiple times and I don't think I've ever had a bad dish! The cocktails are also amazing and the servers really know how to help you decide on one.
L Chanel
Darling, warm, welcoming scenery. Classy and sophisticated but not snobby. Bubbling and energetic but not overly loud. Would be a FANTASTIC first date spot - quiet enough to enjoy conversation but entertaining enough to eliminate any awkward silences. Attentive, friendly z knowledgeable staff. All Italian wine list with economical and fine options. I enjoyed their take on an old fashioned.. smooth and strong and oh so nummy. The mushroom tortellini was one of the most exquisitely delicious meals I've ever had... And I'll be honest - it takes a lot to impress me with food, especially pasta. I'll be back... and soon!
Katie Konat
I was astounded at the service, the food and genuine compassion of the staff and manager. A friend and I were meeting my daughter at the restaurant and she had an accident when arriving. Henrique, our waiter, was very concerned for her and accommodated us in every way possible. They were closing at brunch and invited us to stay in their restaurant to keep cool. Then they brought lovely complimentary pastries to us. We were treated so kindly and the food was delicious! Highly recommend!!
Diane Rupert
Food was very good, service was great, but the kitchen seemed extra slow. Nice place for a date night.
Taylor Besser
Beautiful, cozy neighborhood joint. The menu rotates, but I've never had a bad dish. The bar is lovely with a great selection of wine and cocktails. Highly recommended for a tasteful but not over-the-top date night.
Christine Tierney
Classy yet relaxed atmosphere, with a hip waitstaff. Menu full of unique dishes and flavors, although the chef really likes paprika! Wine list was decent for the size of the restaurant, mostly Italian (to be expected). I was pleasantly surprised by the octopus, and the filet was melt-in-your-mouth delicious! A bit pricy, but worth it for special occasions.
Kinsey Johnson
Shelby was a lovely server, and the drinks were AMAZING. As a vegan, it’s hard to find restaurants that will accommodate to my specific diet. I had the root salad and spaghetti, both specially accommodated for my diet and both absolutely wonderful. I look forward to when I can return.
Marina Olson
We are so so so lucky to have this amazing restaurant in our neighborhood. They update their menu seasonally so I am never bored, and everything is always delicious. And somehow the staff is even better than the food. Love literally everything about this place. (Bonus: come here in the summer for a perfect patio experience.)
Fox Cole
Food is elegantly prepared. Portions are not oversized. Family owned and staffed, attentive service, genuine Italian cooking, high-end menu. Expect a variety of seafood-based dishes and homemade pasta, though other options are available. Do not expect hamburgers. Can accommodate food allergies. Good wine and cocktail selection. Reservations accepted, probably a good idea to call in because this is a popular restaurant. Outdoor seating available. Noisy, though; it can be difficult to hold a conversation. Also not inexpensive... but the dining is worth the money.
Sarah Vasquez
Delicious food and wine! Love the atmosphere. We went in without a reservation which was fine and waited about 45-50 minutes before eating. Sat at the bar and had a few drinks. Would prefer to eat in the bar area or right next to it. Our table was a bit unsteady in the other room.
Catherine Band
We had a great brunch on the patio at IE! Our server was very helpful, offered good background about the restaurant and menu, and was very attentive. I had the porch etta sandwich and farm chips, which was delicious, and my husband had a the Wagyu steak and eggs, which he really enjoyed. Great atmosphere, delicious food, and great staff. We will definitely be back again for dinner!
Danielle Bradley
Delish, fresh food and fantastic service!
Shaun Murphy
Went here for an anniversary dinner. Very good Italian food. Pasta was perfectly prepared. In the warmer months there is a nice indoor/outdoor feel to the restaurant with operable windows and a bar that opens to the outdoor seating area.
Gwen Bailey
so beautiful inside, great food and a really kind waiter
Laci Murtha
Amazing food, great environment and easily one of our new favorites! My husband an I went on a date their last night and enjoyed every minute of it! Josiah our server was fabulous and really knows how to serve others with excellence! Thanks again and we will be back many more times :)
Chelsea Greene
IE is one of our favorite Italian restaurants! They have great homemade pastas, and every time we go it’s just as good! They also have a great wine selection and an outdoor patio area! Love love love this place would highly recommend!
Todd Bakken
Good Italian food with a polite but querky staff. Definitely worth trying if you are curious about it. The Caesar was good, but not your typical creamy Caesar, more of an oil one. The wild boar meatballs were really good, but the red sauce took a back seat to the cheese in the dish.
Molly Kennedy
This is one of the best meals I've had in a long time. Never having tried octopus before, I lucked out eating it for the first time here! Like all of the dishes we tried, the flavors were complex but approachable and the octopus was tender and so flavorful!
Patti Morena
Eclectic Italian restaurant. The mussel appetizer to die for, and I've yet to order anything but the Jerked Chicken for the main entree. They do have pasta dishes that have never disappointed.
BTW, be sure to try one (or two) of their cocktails. Excellent.
Alina Rask
We had brunch in the private party room and the everything we tasted and drank had such great flavor! Their bloody mary alone is something I'd return for. They were clean and light without sacrificing flavor. Pretty atmosphere too.
Tabitha Calistri
The food is so good but the servers are what we come back for. You get the opportunity to give a first impression once and Todd did that. Everytime I go out to eat he is what I rate service on. "Theyre no Todd". He trained in our server from our second visit last night, didnt catch her name, and she was just as good. So friendly and attentive! We will come back for the great food but we will be loyal customers because of the people you employ.
Lindon Thorn
This is hands down my favorite Italian restaurant in the cities. The pasta is excellent and I am a big fan of their grilled octopus. Everything on the menu is worth trying. IE has a great wine selection as well. A true neighborhood gem!
Katie Kath
This our favorite local restaurant! We love the consistency of the fresh food, great service and the best wine list in all of South Minneapolis. We enjoy coming out for date night and it's a great spot to bring our kids as well. Looking forward to patio season!
Ian Rapson
Decent food. Fresh pasta. Sauces left something to be desired. Lacking in flavor. Good cocktails.
Pastor. Garry Moore
Awesom . yes it is fine dining The lamb hops are out of this world. Ill be going back befor i leave for he in Florida, They get my five stars. Our server Monica did an awesome job.
Rachel Sporer
ie is one of my favorite places to eat dinner! They have one of my favorite pastas ever which is their mushroom cappelleti. It is so rich and creamy with the best herby mushroom flavor and to top it all off, red onion. Couldnt be more perfect.
We always have super sweet servers both at the tables and the bar. Its best to get a reservation on the weekends but we have had no problem getting two people in on sunday- thursday evening.
The cocktails, wine, and appetizers are delicious as well; and I think my partner has enjoyed the beer options. Overall great choice in South Minneapolis at a reasonable price for such good food.
Rob W
Arin, our server was so awesome! What a sweetheart! The food was incredible! We had gnocchi, short rib, wild bore meat balls, and much more, all fantastic! Will go back soon and frequently.
Neil Ryan
We had 8 o'clock reservations on a Friday and it was packed! We waited until 8:15 to be seated which was fine. They have a large bar area with excellent craft cocktails along with a huge selection of wine and beer. The decor is so beautiful you'll want to take people here for dates or birthdays or just to impress! Our service was top notch and the food was excellent. We started with the goat milk ricatta with grilled bread which I am still dreaming about. For entrees we tried the rustic gemelli and the mushroom cappelletti. Both were outstanding. I can't wait to try other dishes on the menu! Tip, go for the larger size entrees. Definitely worth it. I can't wait to come back and try brunch. One of the best restaurant experiences I've ever had.
Ashley Sievers
The service was fine and the atmosphere was great, but the food was underwhelming. We ordered the yam ravioli, which had absorbed too much of the oil from pan-frying and didn't compliment the filling. We also had the garganelli and gnocchi. I am not a person who shies away from salt, but found both dishes incredibly salty. Nothing terrible or unforgivable, but not a place I'd go back to.
Elizabeth Edstrom
Delicious, authentic Italian. Our service was wonderful and felt tailored just for us. We had an appetizer (lamb), salad (caesar), entree (gnocchi), and dessert (afogato)...I can still taste it all when I close my eyes! They also have a nice weekend brunch with killer bloodies.
abbey pattison
So good! If you like bar la grassa, you will love ie. A lot of the pasta is handmade, they have some really fun cocktails, and the desserts are amazing. I always get the polenta as a side (it reheats well the next day). Their appetizers are also pretty good, especially the octopus. It has a casual atmosphere and even a fun little outdoor bar.
Elena Shaffer
My boyfriend and I had our anniversary dinner here and we loved it. The apps were creative and flavorful. The main courses were so good, wild boar meatballs and cavatelli! We topped the night off with lemoncello and tiramisu. The service was excellent, all the food came out hot and timed perfectly. We weren't rushed or waiting. Our waiter was excellent at being attentive but also leaving us alone to enjoy our meal. He had helpful suggestions on the menu and was very funny! Atmosphere was very nice, beautiful dining room and you can see the kitchen which is cool if you're into that. Our table was close to the kitchen so a little noisy but not bad compared to some places. We will definitely be back!
Haley Adams
Lovely atmosphere, modern and a nice option for a date night. Homemade pasta was wonderful but portions were small, I think my chocolate torte was more filling (but both were very good!). Noticed a large drink menu but there are also good non alcoholic options.
Robert Sedillo
Such a good place to eat. And the ambience is so nice 👍
David Odom
First visit and was very impressed with food and service. Not the typical Italian options. Lots of variety and great desserts and cocktails.
B Yack
This place is special. Not only is the food outstanding, the modern design and family-friendly feel make you want to go nightly. The food is very reasonably priced for the quality and I promise that you won’t be disappointed. They also have a delicious blend of cocktails and craft beer if you choose to partake responsibly.
Andrew Diaz
Great spot. Came in, was seated right away, didnt even know they offered a brunch menu. The potato gnocchi and wagyu steak & eggs was amazing. Great presentation, nice take on brunch and well priced. You can tell their menu and ingredients they use are top quality and well thought out. Will be back again soon.
Naomi Booth
My husband and I come here regularly. Majority of the time it's an excellent experience. Anytime there's something we aren't satisfied with, they go above and beyond to make things right. The food is great--one of the best Italian places in Minneapolis for sure. The dessert is perfection in every sense of the word and the cocktails are phenomenal!
McCarrons Pub
I’ve never been here but I’ve met the owners. They asked me to take an internet quiz and reluctantly I agreed. Turns out my wife thinks I am a falcon and let me tell you… that’s super cool. Can’t wait to try the food.
J C
This is a consistently good location for good Italian food and a good atmosphere. Menu is constantly adding fresh dishes and the prices are fair.
Dave Kornecki
They rock!! Food is so good here and the outdoor setting is unbeatable
Ian Decker
The food is some of the most flavorful food I've ever enjoyed. Everything was done fresh and done right. Our servers were also very attentive, despite the craziness of it being an Italian restaurant on Valentine's Day evening. Quite enjoyable.
Zachary B
These guys are brand new. And they definitely know how to create a fun warm atmosphere. The restaurant is very Cosy, and the ambiance is great.
I had the Squid Ink Fettuccine, and honestly, I did not care for it. The owner of ie then comped our entire meal. These guys are serious about creating good food and running a great restaurant, and they went absolutely out of their way to serve us. Also, their desserts are fantastic.
We will be back. And if the owner is reading this, thanks! But, You really didn't have to do that. I like to support local eateries. So let me pay you next time!
Christoffer Hanson
Excellent food, excellent service, great atmosphere. This is one of my favorite places to go when I feel like spending a little bit of money. Perfect place for date night or if you just want to treat yourself.
Karl Boleen
Just can't say enough about this place. It moved into an area where nothing like it exists and has thrived. Great atmosphere, good cocktails and wine/beer list, fantastic food and decent prices. In the 10+ times my wife and I have eaten here, we've never been disappointed. Keep up the good work!
Richard Schofield
Great food! Loved their pasta dishes and had the grilled octopus as an appetizer which was just amazing. Decent craft beer selection although I must say that the local selection was a little pricey, serving half pints at typical pint prices.
Oleg Potapenko
Our first time here and besides a little menu malfunction on-line to wich the manager on Tuesday night at 7pm handled with so much professionalism and was supper kind...so great customer service along with yummy food the Roman meatballs and the 720 day aged prosciutto and burrata were both very tasty and flavorful the lamb scottadito as well. The pastas were delightful. Will be back just because the 720 day aged prosciutto and burrata were worth it alone I have tried this elsewhere and this one tops it. Thank you for a good dinner.
Rae W
The food is really good from what I hear, but I've been there a few times for family get togethers and as a vegan, it's pretty disappointing. They could confirm that just one of the menu items could be modified to be vegan, and it was the salad.
The salad is super awesome, fresh and flavorful. I would expect an Italian restaurant to be able to make a tomato sauce over some noodles and have a bomb vegan entree on the menu! Just a thought. I'd eat the hell out of it for sure !
John Daniel
Delicious and filling food, marvelous ambient atmosphere. Thanks for letting us continue to experience ie during these troubling times!!
Julia Sweeney
Absolutely lovely place to eat. Great atmosphere, fantastic mixed drinks, and the food is out of this world! Can't beat excellent prosciutto and parma. The portion sizes were just right, not too small, not too large; there was just enough for no left overs yet you felt satisfied and still had room for desert.
Jacky B
We ate at the bar. The bartenders were awesome! They went above and beyond to make our meal enjoyable. Food was delicious as well.
Brianna Prahl
I went last night with my husband on a date night and our whole experience was excellent. Every staff member we interacted with was polite and engaging. We ate on the patio and the ambience was lovely. They even have blankets to use if you're chilly!
Our server (Amelia) was quite possibly one of the best servers I've had. (I worked in the service industry for 15ish yrs as a bartender, restaurant manager and temporarily as the worlds worst server, so this I know!) She was attentive and quick and had great suggestions for food and drink.
The restaurant space and decor is also impressive and even the music selection was great. We will certainly be back!
Get the Tiramisu!

I have been hearing for some time how great this place is. Last night I finally was able to go see for my self and it was every thing that my friends said and more.
The drinks seemed to be so unique yet so simple and refreshing. I would definitely recommend the "Cedar". Everydish we ordered was better than the last. The menu was all inclusive and easy to order from. The service was quick and attentive. The decor made you feel like you had somehow left the midwest and appeared in Italy.
From beginning to end the attention to detail really stood out. Can't wait to return!
JIPortillo
Came to eat here for the first time with my girlfriend for our anniversary and the place is great! The ambience is really elegant and you can’t go wrong with outdoor or indoor seating. Perfect spot for date night.
Cat Brooks
Love this place! Mushroom Cappelletti is my favorite, I get it every time! And they have GF pasta! Mussels are incredible too
Samantha Palumbo
Our absolute favorite restaurant in MPLS. Take-out from ‘ie’ has been our saving grace during this pandemic. When things were open this summer & fall it was the only place we visited knowing the team goes above and beyond to meet the health and safety standards required. Everything we’ve tried from the take out menu has been a hit. We got items at Thanksgiving and Christmas to incorporate into our spreads and they were delicious and were time savers for us. When things do re-open again here in MN we’ll be in a booth PRONTO. We can’t recommend this gem enough.
Sarah Hossain
I have a mix feeling for this eatery. Ambient and service was top notch. We ordered the shrimp and mussels for the appetizer and Bass and Fucilli for the main course. Shrimp was above average. Mussels were cooked perfect but the lemon butter sauce was over powering with the lemon. So it was too sour for my taste. Bass was over cooked and somehow the fillet was too thin than the other places I have eaten so far. And also it was overcooked which made the fish tough. Fucilli was nothing extraordinary. The Fucilli was undercooked but the shrimp was overcooked and rubbery. The pistachio gelato was good. Our favorite italian restaurant Bar La Grassa was temporarily closed due to covid. So we were lookinh for an Italian place and it had so far the best review.
Amy Maiello
This place came recommended by a coworker. It was beyond amazing. Homemade meatballs, small batch pasta, fresh ingredients. And that wine list 😍 Be prepared to spend money. Not because the prices are outrageous ($16ish is average for entree) but because yoy will want to try everything. …
Paige B
The food is absolutely amazing, I've loved everything I have tried here. An added bonus here is their gluten free options, almost all the pastas can be made gluten free. Also, if you decide of having dessert, the flourless chocolate torte is a must have!
Steve Basile
I grew up eating from-scratch Italian. My meal was positively mediocre. I might have gotten a better Italian dish from a good non-Italian restaurant.
My wife isn't Italian but really enjoyed her meal.
The service was also annoyingly disconnected from the vibe. It was someone's job. Not their favorite.
That was not my first and last time eating at Italian Eatery. Left wondering why the place was so packed.
Kassandra DeBoer
AMAZING SERVICE. Adam did a great job helping us with the menu and drinks. The food was incredible and he was so attentive and helpful even though things had to change because of Covid. So happy to have this experience as I celebrate the end of my masters program!
Laura Hupp
This is a great unassuming neighborhood spot for quality Italian food. This isn't your spaghetti and meatballs type place. This is the place to go if you like high-end Italian dishes with amazing seafood and delicious wine. The ambiance is classy, yet casual. I'm so glad I live nearby!
Ashley Holmes
Absolutely love this place. Their homemade pastas are so incredibly good with the right balance of chewiness and cooked to perfect al dente ness. So much so that I went twice in one week! Once in the afternoon with my husband and once for dinner with one of my girlfriends. Both experiences were fantastic.
Beth Berzelius
All of the staff was extremely friendly and helpful, and the food was amazing! I am a vegetarian, and it was full of rich flavor.
Julia Holm
Excellent "in house" made pasta. Extremely fresh ingredients made this spring pea pesto taste just like a garden. Our server was helpful, knowledgeable, and so friendly. Can't wait to come back!
Caitlin Klukas
Sadly disappointing. Solid food in a cozy atmosphere with modern touches. Waiter, unfortunately, was terrible. Service was slow, and overly casual for an upscale restaurant. He did not introduce himself or provide any guidance about how the menu worked (despite being specifically asked...more than once). As a result, we were left feeling hungry and unsatisfied.
Terry Dragich
Awesome Italian cuisine and atmosphere. Service is exceptional. There is outside patio seating. My wife is Italian and makes the best Italian food so it is very hard to find an Italian restaurant that can compete with her cooking, Italian Eatery is very close and we love it!
C WBW
We really wanted to love our experience tonight at dinner. The atmosphere was perfect. The wait staff very friendly. The hostess was on point. Then our pasta arrives. The Buccatini. My favorite pasta. It was par cooked, not al dente. Almost hard. For dessert we had the Tiramisu. Perfection. Overall it was a nice evening out.
Clare Larson
Wonderful addition to the neighborhood. Fine dining yet comfortable atmosphere. Great for a romantic dinner, but the brunch is the best! The Bibbidi bowls are fabulous! Everything you'd want for brunch in 1 bowl!
Deborah Uhlemann
Great food and a trendy atmosphere. Lots of drink choices. A large, beautiful bar area. Conveniently located in south Minneapolis right off Minnehaha Parkway. Delicious mushroom stuffed pasta was a big hit. Definitely would go there again!
Kat Bulinski
This place is one of my favorite go-to locations with an impeccable atmosphere and great drinks. There’s a nice patio that where they put a fire pit in the winter months. Also, I think they had a chef change since their opening and to be honest I preferred the original dishes but that doesn’t mean you can’t still get amazing, interesting food!
Beatrice Kealy
We happened to try this place on a whim because a reservation opened up on a Saturday night. Everything we tried was phenomenal and our waiter was extremely helpful answering all the questions we had (including an excellent knowledge of the wine list!). Highly recommend trying some of their fresh pasta.
Matt & Amanda Carrara
Upscale and comfortable. Finally great food that isn't pretentious. Cocktails and wine were amazing. My dad said the vodka one with fig is the best drink he ever had. I had the cedar which is an old fashioned bourbon aged in cedar, crazy. The food: you must try the short ribs, mussels, fresh pasta, and the pear dessert. Favorite restaurant after one trip. I am going back this week.
DJ Deluge
Really like the atmosphere, super busy on a Wednesday night? In Minneapolis? I figured this must be good. Reservations honored.
Very large drink/wine list, craft cocktail was very tasty. I had the old fashioned, twice. Very good. Food was fantastic as well. We had the chop salad, this is a large salad. Bread was great, Meatball cavatelli was a healthy portion and very good. Tirimisu was ridiculously large and excellent. You must get this even though it's$8, it's worth it. Looking forward to trying short rib next time.
Mr. Meticulous Lohese
The literal freshness of the ingredients are noticeable, if you have a evident palette or distinctive one. I had to go back and tell the chefs how great of job they did. It was my first time and I always stick to what I know and prefer, but I will be back Italian Eatery. 😋 freshness approved 👌🏾 …
Adam Vnuk
YUM!! Stopped here for brunch one day and enjoyed every part of it. Food was on point, drinks were delish, and the overall atmosphere and service were great! Bonus was the patio seating, which if the weather permits, is a must. Real deal place and a must try for any foodie.
Reza Goldoost
This place needs improvement in terms of making reservations. Had a reservation for our anniversary and got there 10 minutes late which they told us it might take 5-10 minutes to get the table ready which was fine; but we didn’t get the table until almost 50 minutes after that and they first told us since you got here late we offered your table to someone else. I believe that restaurants usually consider a 10 to 15 minutes margin for their reservations. Although, at the end, I was told that they had some issues that day with the reservations. The food and service was good; but it was a disappointment to wait almost an hour to get a table on your anniversary, especially when you had notified them at the time of booking.
Pat Foor
This is a go to for authentic Italian cuisine. The pasta is amazing and they aren't afraid to actually cook it al dente. They have a cozy patio that's perfect for warm summer nights. I recommend getting the olive oil chocolate torte for dessert; it sounds a little weird but it is amazing!
Manju Parikh
We had a great time, celebrating our anniversary. The food was great and superb service from our server, Ladiey. On top of all was meeting dear friends unexpectedly and sharing the evening together. If you are adventurous, try the Calabrian cauliflower & mussels in a spicy broth!
Libby Sullivan
Great food and atmosphere! Anna our sever was super knowledgeable of evrything on the menu and was wonderful! Great local spot and hopefully we will be back soon. Can get super busy on weekend though so plan ahead :). Can’t wait to experience the patio this summer!
Neal Lewandowski
If you just want a quick drink, don't go here. Two people on the host station, several open seats in bar area, and we waited for seven minutes while they chatted. Two servers one "host" and seven minutes for a mostly open bar was not a great experience. If you are there for the duration, you should feel right at home. I expect better service when ample staff and it is slow.
Karl Schroeder
Absolutely fantastic in every way. We were there as part of a wedding celebration. Staff and management were wonderful in every way. The food so delicious. Wish I didn't live 5 hours away. Highly, highly recommend.
Ashlee Assadi
Hands down the best Italian restaurant around. The braised short rib, burrata prosciutto appetizer, and cauliflower are to die for. Also, my husband says to try the Cedar. You won’t be disappointed. Love this gem and it’s family friendly.
Sarah Hunt
Absolutely hands down amazing food! Beautiful atmosphere! We took Daniel’s suggestions on what to order & it did not disappoint at all. We have found a gem that has become an instant favorite.
Timothy Buendorf
Very excited about this new restaurant in our neighborhood. Our first impressions, though, are concerning. Upon arrival, there were many open tables and we were immediately seated in an out-of-the-way corner at a high-top table. There were a number of open booths/tables that would have been more comfortable and inviting. Most of those tables/booths did not fill while we were there. Our server did not know the menu and seemed confused about basic questions. Further, she seemed more interested in pushing us into ordering than taking time to answer questions about the offerings. There were 3 of us, so three different entrees. I have the spaghetti carbonara and liked it very much. Just the right size and lots of flavor in what could have easily been a very cloying dish. My son had the steak and enjoyed it very much along with the fingerling potatoes. The salsa verde was more of a green anchovy sauce than a green salsa - anchovy was very overpowering - good thing it was served on the side. My wife had the wild boar meatballs. The pasta was well-prepared with a fine sauce, however the meatballs themselves were not heated through - nearly cold in the center. We informed our server, who only said she would tell the kitchen, but made no offer to do anything about it. The same happened when the manager came by the table. His only comment was that the they needed to "improve procedures" but made no effort to correct the situation for us. We were still charged full price. Excellent wine selection, although again our server didn't have a real grasp of the offerings. We remain hopeful that this will be a great addition to the neighborhood, but at those price points, the experience needs to be top-notch.

My husband and I had dinner at Italian eatery on Saturday night. Caulder, bartender, gave us fantastic service, and the ambience was terrific. The grilled mussels and crispy baby heirloom potatoes were delicious, but the baked garganelli was uninspiring and flavorless. We saw the large community table which looks great for one of our family meals and will be back.
Ben Welter
This was my fifth visit to IE. As always, high marks for ambience and wait staff. The vibe is energetic but not overly loud, and the seating is comfortable. Our server was friendly, efficient, knowledgeable and attentive. On this most recent visit, the food was a mix of very good and mediocre.
The good (to very good):
+ The Old Fashioned (the Cedar) was among the best I've ever had.
+ Octopus appetizer was the *best* I've ever had" Moist, tender and full of flavor.
+ Seared scallops ... delicious.
+ Short ribs ... excellent.
+ Tiramasu ... sublime.
The mediocre:
+ Small potato side dish was tasty and properly cooked -- but WAY oversalted. I should have sent it back, but my son loves oversalted food and happily finished the dish for me.
+ The salmon entree ... the fish was past its prime. Also tasted like farm-raised.
The unacceptable:
+ The espresso tasted bad ... not just acidic: near. The preparer probably ran the water twice. The waitress took it off the bill, but didn't seem interested in investigating the cause.

Classic food, Trendy, Hipster, Can be romantic date, need reservations, cool decor, all of the menu items are excellent. Need to ask for particular seating, ex. Not by kitchen or up at the bar or booth seating. The smaller side room seating is more private and romantic setting. The only one drawback to this new and very popular place is, the limited parking lot space. This Eatery is very popular and booked up full most evenings and brunch is almost as booked up as well.

I have eaten here 4 or 5 times and it is always good. Service, Food, and Drinks are all amazing.
Lauren Rice
Fresh scratch made pasta daily - incredible
Monica Lee
Love this place...it is exactly what this neighborhood needs. And it has a full bar with awesome cocktails which is hard to find in South Minneapolis. Excellent food, the staff was very friendly and the atmosphere was warm yet modern, and big! A total surprise to see when you walk in the front door. Neighborhood-y vibe with downtown cool.
Cami Krech
Kinda bummed at the service. First I requested bring out to car and that didn't happen, but the worst part was the lady who brought my food from the chef station to the hostess station put my bread under her arm! It was wrapped, and the bread only $5 but covid or no covid I don't want your armpit on my food. I paid over $140 for this meal and it was spoiled seeing this. It was 5 feet walking distance, it could have been a second trip to grab it.
Briana Johnson
Another great spot for Italian in south Minneapolis! One of my favorites in the twin cities. Beautiful restaurant inside and on the patio, with creative and yummy food.
Suethi Tham
Loved everything about this restaurant from the food, ambiance, and specifically service! We had Nate as our server and he went above and beyond!
Andrea Nygren
Service was great. Food while very good, the menu was a bit more aggressive than I like. I had trouble finding a simple dish that didn't have pork or wild boar. I also thought the pasta was bland.
Robert Lyksett
Absolutely completely amazing. Overall a great dining experience and the only part that wasn’t great our server Staci immediately fixed. All this on a busy Friday night, thank you to the manager too. We will be back again and again and again!
Richard Shadick
The food was beyond delicious. Service was extremely friendly and helpful. Even though the price seems high and the servings a little small it is worth every penny. Just the right size meal to not feel like you have had to much. Will definitely recommend and be going back for more.
Timothy Comes
This was one of the best meals I have had. Highly recommend. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable and the food was to die for. Highly recommend the octopus
Breann Silfverston
Great food combined with a unique experience. The small patio offers overhead heaters and complimentary cozy blankets to snuggle under if you catch a chill. The options are "higher end" or not your regular speg. & meatball type Italian restuarant. The drink menu is huge, the food was delicious and the servers were fun too!
John Wilson
We enjoy both the fare (small plates, great flavors) and service (attentive and and anticipated our needs; servers always know how each dish is prepared). Outdoor seating is great during the warmer months.
Tommy Frericks
The short ribs were out of this world, amazing. Can't wait to get back and try the rest of the menu! Service and overall atmosphere were inviting. Good space for families and private seating for an intimate experience as well. We will be regular guests. I highly recommend!
Nikolay Suvorov (Crepe Guru.)
Very good restaurant, great food!
Andrew Meggs
This place is so hip that Shakira should write a song about it. The food is delicious, the service is excellent, and the salt comes in these cool little ladles! You'll definitely feel cool dining here. They are pretty popular so expect a wait, unless you'd like to sit at the communal table, which is fine as long as you don't mind rubbing shoulders with a bunch of randos. Still, worth it for the food (try the meatballs!). Would recommend.
Sam Kolupailo
This place is just consistently GREAT. The menu changes often, awesome cocktails, outstanding brunch, fantastic service. Every. Damn. Time. Don’t usually write reviews, but I had to give these guys and gals their due.
Madeline Thompson
Great food for a fancy evening, also got a little birthday meatball
Ben Lorence
Best Italian Bolognese pasta outside of Florence Italy.
Will Wiederich
Absolutely lovely place with delicious food and cocktails. Felt very at home with the comfy atmosphere and wait staff that was very helpful and friendly.
Will be going again very soon!
Greg
Mushroom cappatelli was super great. Small portions, so i gobbled up the delicious side- bread to fill the tank.
armin brueckner
Great drinks and comfort food italian. They have space for larger parties but remains quiet for couples.
I always have The Cedar, a slightly spicy and smoky take on an old fashioned. So good!
Steven Brezenoff
Everyone I know loves this place but I've found most of the food mediocre to good and often too salty. The prices are high, and the waitstaff is hella chatty. I know a lot of people like that. I do not. Anyway, the orange coffee drink--I forget the correct name--is fantastic, as are the lemon curd pancakes.
Wayne Anthony Cullinan
As an Italian from the East Coast with a Mama Mia named Tomasina Graziano, I can ATTEST... this charming trattoria shines in EVERY WAY.
The food is delicious... the atmosphere is cozy & warm and the hospitality is superior.
Marjorie D Grevious
Good solid service, food very good and tiramisu is the best. The drinking shrub is my most favorite unique beverage
rachel christine
IE is always a favorite and the staff has always been phenomenal but my latest visit was made even better by the competent skills of our server Troy. So knowledgeable and friendly! Wtg IE, can't wait to stop back!
Aric Frith
Hands down the best Italian place in south Minneapolis!!! Amazing dishes at a moderate price! Great wine selection and pairing. Atmosphere inside is phenomenal!!! Must try!!
Gail Bronner
Interesting decor, knowledgeable wait person good food. Would have ranked higher, but had issues with fennel sausage. I guess fennel isnt to everyone's taste. Other entrees were excellent.
Wendy Murphy
Love this place. The food is a dream, and the service is amazing.
We were there once this summer when it was quite warm out. The air was on full blast, and we were freezing. I kiddingly asked for a blanket...seconds later my friend and I had a soft cuddly blankets!
Mike Shadick
Always great food at IE. The menu is small but delicious and the service is always top notch. Make sure to check this place off you list.
Alicia Carlson
Super cozy space, very friendly server and delicious food. We didn't realize there was a closing period between brunch/dinner but they let us stay chatting at our table until we were ready to leave (even while technically closed).
Jordan Kunkel
We had a great time at ie. The food was excellent, all the way from the starters to the dessert. The cocktails were incredible as well. ( try the Cedar ) Our service was amazing. We will definitely be back. Way to go ie!
Vaidehi Pande
Meal portions are very small. But a good place to take your date!
Gretchen Corcoran
Wow! We love Italian Eatery. First of all, let me say that there service is fantastic. Aubrey was one of the best servers we've had anywhere. Second, the food is great - and they change it seasonally so there's always something new to try. Third, although it's often crowded, the wait goes by very quickly, and there are things to do while you wait! We visited in October, and while we were waiting, we went outside and sat by the fire they have going, we also played a few outdoor games (we played a game called Cornhole where we are from, but its essentially bean bag toss), and they have FREE S'MORES outside!
The one negative is that there seemed to be an issue with their tap lines losing carbonation - between my husband & I, we tried 3 different beers, and all had little to no carbonation. This wasn't the case last time we visited, so I'm sure they will fix it shortly.
Roshan Rajkumar
One of the best young eateries in South Minneapolis. Good food, fabulous cocktails, and consistent service. It is a low key place with style and no pretense. Plus a great brunch on the weekends.
Amanda Grant
We brought our 9 month old daughter with us, and the chef created a small dish just for her! The food tastes 5 star, and is 3 star pricing! A new date night favorite!
J Shipley Newlin Jr
Not elaborate menu but excellent food. My friend and I shared a four course meal
Plenty. A good place to go.
Tiffany Cannon
Wonderful place! My favorite dish is the agnolotti. I give it 4 Stars is because I think the agnolotti portion is extremely small for the price. It has a great vibe...much like a restaurant that belongs in NYC. Great, high quality food (they make their own pasta daily!) and buzzing with energy. Highly recommend!
bethany kelly
Such a gem in the neighborhood. The atmosphere and the people are amazing. The good is usually really good, though my lobster spaghetti was a little lackluster. The more traditional pastas tend to be great though.
Mike Guild
Love this place. Nice to have a slightly upscale place in our 'hood with cocktails. Many other nice more relaxed beer-and-wne neighborhood places, but i.e. is the place I go for a nicer meal and for a cocktail. Try THE CEDAR, their take on the Old Fashioned.
Heather Walburg
Oh my word. I'm Italian so I hope that means something in my review! My new favorite restaraunt in Minneapolis! Best ambiance- intimate and cozy, best service- friendly, helpful, polite, and best food- ingenious, flavorful, and still comforting. I was thrilled and plan on taking everyone I know here!
Ada Loveless
Unique flavor didn't appeal to me much. Expensive with tiny portions. I didn't feel like I got a lot of value for my money. Compared to "the news room" downtown (a similar class/tier restaurant), I'd much prefer "the news room". Not for everyone.
Jordan Garcia
I ordered the spaghetti with a meatball. The total was over $20 and the serving size was extremely small. On top of that, the spaghetti was under-cooked. Staff was amazing, but wouldn't rush back.
Todd Christenson
Had a wonderful meal with friends on the patio. Service was excellent and the food great! Definitely recommend it and will be back!
Shari Olson
Authentic Italian dishes. Outside seating. Excellent customer atmosphere.
Carol j. Allers
Everything was fabulous. Exceptional team of people working together in harmony to serve the guests
Victor Johnson
We ordered a late dinner and there was a (rare) mishap with our order. Jeremy the manager went above and beyond fixing the items and getting my starving crew a hot and delicious meal. Thank you!!

This past weekend was my second time at ie, and I love everything about it! My husband and I just moved to the neighborhood, and we love that ie brings such amazing eats, exceptional service, and the family/neighborhood atmosphere to south mpls. We love that it's just down the road! My menu favorites so far are the shaved root salad, and the gnocchi and mushroom cappelletti dishes. Their wines are beautiful, and the Pepe Limone (cedar gin, black pepper, citrus and honey) is to die for. We are excited to make ie a frequent!
Dan Thompson
Service great. Portions adequate. I thought it was extremely pricey! Also they don't tell you but when you get your bill, you will be charged a lot extra for refills. For us that meant $ 6 for an ice tea & one refill. 😲 …
Jordan Hogness
Brilliant little spot. Reasonable prices (in my opinion) with a creative and delicious menu. I’ve always been pleased with the service. I’ve been here numerous times with my girlfriend, and with an old friend to catch up, and it’s been great every time. I plan to be back many times.

So, went to Italian Eatery last night with my husband and a friend. It was...fine, but a bit of a disappointment.
The standout, by far, was the garganelli with wild boar meatballs, taleggio and fontina. It was spectacular - perfect red sauce, beautifully balanced meatballs, great texture.
The rest of the meal was ok, but not particularly memorable, and sometimes involved actual missteps. I did appreciate the ability to order smaller portions of pasta, which allowed us to try a lot of different things, treating it all family-style.
We had the prosciutto and burrata for an app, which was very nice, but not something that I attribute much skill to the kitchen for.
For the rest of the meal, aside from the aforementioned garganelli, we also had the gemelli with sorrel pesto, ricotta, and pancetta - that was the second-best dish. Nice, but not groundbreaking, and the pancetta overwhelmed the pesto a bit. Also, though the waiter mentioned that the pasta was al dente and, "some people aren't used to that," I AM used to that, and this pasta was under - needed another minute or so. Still, it was tasty. Then we went for a couple of simple pastas to round it out - spaghetti with tomato and mascarpone, which was kind of bland and really needed something to bring up the flavors - acid? herbs? - and cavatelli with Bolognese, which was the worst dish of the night. It reminded me a little of Chef Boyardee, honestly, which is harsh, but true. Weird texture to the meat, too sweet, and not nearly enough acid. My homemade Bolognese is a lot better.
Also added a couple of side dishes - grilled carrots with herb mascarpone - underdone and underwhelming, and asparagus with saffron romesco - kind of a disaster, as the romesco overwhelmed the flavor of the asparagus completely. Also, if there was saffron in it, I sure didn't taste it.
Service was lacking, in that the waiter seemed overextended, though nice enough, and both the appetizer and the meal itself took 30 minutes or so to arrive, each. The waiter apologized for the wait, but didn't actually do anything about it (we didn't ask, as we were enjoying the company). He also left a dish off the initial order and had to be reminded that it wasn't delivered. Nothing completely damning, but far from impressive. Also, other tables got bread and butter and what looked like roasted chickpeas, which all failed to appear at our table.
The space itself was clearly well thought-out - lots of attention to detail - but as with every new restaurant lately, it was very loud and a little hard to hold a conversation. Also, seemed sort of aesthetically cold and not particularly welcoming. Partly due to the service, I suppose, but I felt a little stressed at the end of the evening, rather than relaxed.
So, overall, I don't think we'd go back. As I said above, a couple of dishes were quite nice, but they don't seem to be putting out consistent food, and they're not doing it particularly well.
I want to experiment with trying to reproduce the red sauce on the garganelli at home, though, so they did make an impression there.

Classy neighborhood hot spot! You can't beat the fresh made from scratch pastas. Comfy, cozy atmosphere and delicious craft cocktails make you want to settle in and stay awhile :)

This is our first experience here and it was AMAZING!!! We had two apperizers, the lobster pasta, the lamb and the summer berry crostata, nothing was dissaponting. We really enjoyed every dish and for sure we recomend it. We will return!!
Emmy Kegler
This is our absolute favorite place for dinner! The cocktails are always good and we love the mushroom cappelletti!
Erin GIll
Gorgeous place to celebrate any occasion or hang for a delicious cocktail. The entrees have always been on point, the wine list is great, and the dessert is amazing.
Adam Twardowski
I took my mom here for her birthday this morning. She ordered the Bibbidi Bop Bowl, comprised of crispy risotto, pulled porchetta, a sunny side egg, salsa verde, kale, and giardineria. I had the Focaccia Eggs Benedict. They were not only delicious and well-portioned, but priced very reasonably. The ambiance and decor were cozy. Our server Johann was attentive, polite, informative, and very evidently enjoyed what he was doing. I look forward to returning here as soon as I can.
Anthony P Rathai
After being at this restaurant for opening night, I had to remind my self this place just opened because it felt as though it's been here for years and I've been here a hundred times. I tried several dishes and not a bad one yet. The hosts, servers, and bartenders all were very excited and welcoming. I'll be back for sure.
Richard Whorton
Cute little restaurant perfect for special occasions. The food has remained the same A+ quality in all the years I've been coming here. Looking forward to my next visit!
Emily
Holy hidden gem! Talk about a fun place that will take you on a trip to Italy for a fraction of the cost. ;) House made pastas, large selection of wine and delish small plates! I always enjoy their ever changing menu so it gives you fresh choices every time you visit. Right next to Lake Nokomis by Minnehaha Pkwy. Wow, worth the drive, 10/10.
Vincent and Danielle Ruiz-Ponce

We were celebrating a birthday with a friend who lived in Italy for about 10 years. She said ie is very authentic, and delicious. The ambience is cozy and elegant. I look forward to returning.
Michaela Rae
Server was informative but slow to wait on us. Seemed overwhelmed. Wine pour was below average. Good food but not exciting. Very cool atmosphere, will try the patio in the summer!
Riley Palmer
Great food and drinks! Have eaten there several times and never had a meal I didn't like. Service is good too.
iONIS Solution
Very nice place. Ambiance is great. Menu was limited and reason why we have it a 4.
Michael Palumbo
Love this place! Nothing like this wonderful gem exists in the Twin Cities. A must stop whether on a date or in a group. The food is wonderful and is complimented with incredible service, great wine, cocktails and a wonderful atmosphere.
Patrick Schwinn
My girlfriend and I could not believe food could taste this good. Highly recommend for a night out when you want to treat yourself. Staff very friendly to people new to how they do their menu and food.
Tony Middendorf
We really loved this place. The food was excellent. Service was prompt and friendly. If you get there early enough, I highly recommend you try sitting on their patio. It's great!
Matt Dowell
Great location, atmosphere, and service. The drinks are inspired and interesting, along with the food. Parking is tough, but street parking available. Great dog-friendly patio.
russell richards
Great ambiance and the lamb was perfectly cooked.

One of my favorites in Minneapolis! The food is high quality, perfectly cooked, and with rotating options for the seasons. Highly recommend Italian eatery for anyone.
Chris Marshall
Wonderful atmosphere! Exceptional and timely service (Thank you Adam)! Order the Cedar, super tasty cocktail. Our dinner was delicious!
Carmi Anderson
This place is excellent. For brunch, I highly recommend the Bibbity Boo Bowl. It's filling and lovely on the taste buds. Service is consistently good. Such a gem in our S. Mpls neighborhood.
Kari Arias
There were bones in the meatballs which was disappointing. Once the first one was found my meal was ruined as I couldn't help but wonder if there would be more in each bite. There was. The gelato was excellent!
Marty Berger
Sampled their seasonal specials - radiccio salad, saracha zucca pasta and pistachio cake. All were delicious and the service was great. Eric's got a good thing going on Cedar Ave. We'll be back....
Anthony Sacco
Made reservations and then waited 35 minutes to be seated. They comped our first Rd of drinks which was pretty cool. I liked the squid ink spaghetti.
Alexander Arbit
The seasonally rotating menu consistently serves up tasty dishes. The wait staff is friendly and accommodating. A warm place to get some very good Italian food!
Anil J. Reddy
Comfort food meal: The Cedar drink, baked Wild Boar Meatballs w/ penne pasta + a good friend. Simple, but quality evening.
Tara Bauer
First time at this place... the food and service was excellent! Our friends are repeat customers and it was easy to understand why with the beauty of the fresh pasta and the mingle of flavors.
Mark Hortman
Every thing we tried on menu was great. The peanut butter whiskey drink was also a hit, even though it sounds quite questionable. Great service also. Community table available.
Paulette Johnson
Great food! Excellent service! 2nd time here and it was soo good! Beef short ribs, mushroom pasta dish, best tirrimsu I've had, Panna cotta, and chocolate olive oil torte all so incredibly good. And the coffee was very good.
Vanessa Carrara
A special neighborhood gem with little elements of surprise. Very comfortable, yet lively atmosphere. Approachable food selections that pull you out of your comfort zone and engage all the senses!
