Reviews of Holy Land
Saiprabhu B
Great options for vegetarians. The portion sizes are huge. All items that we ordered tasted delicious. You need to order ahead at the counter and the items will be delivered to your table. Service was quick. They even gave as a complimentary dessert. We also got some assorted cookies from the grocery story and they were gone as soon as the package was opened.
Chris Schendel
What an incredible dinner! Amazing food! Large portions, well seasoned, and quick service. The meat platter was incredible with 6 different types of meat. The chicken gyro sandwich was huge with an amazing sauce. My two littles are the cheese burgers and fries. The hummus and starter salad was very good. Well worth the drive!

I had the absolute greatest experience at holy land. It was my first time trying middle eastern food & I was not disappointed! The staff helped me decide on items from the menu & constantly checked in on how I was doing. I was able to try baklava, honey cake & another type of dessert and it was delicious! I recommend this place to anyone. An awesome family owned place with a very generous staff. Will definitely be coming back!
Shani
Many options to choose from, many of those include vegetarian options. You will need to order ahead, grab your number and wait for your food to be delivered.
I order— spinach pie, lamb chop entree, veggie and rice entree and also the lamb kabob entree.
The spinach pie was so good I bought it to take home from the grocery store that connected to the restaurant. Portion sizes are large and All came with a Greek salad.

Holly land excellent place to buy your Halal meat. The sirloin stew meat was great to make curry beef. Also you can get Jello that has the halal gelatin. You can buy gyros and other food and dine in.

Wow wow wow, Holy Land. My spouse and I couldn't decide on what to get for dinner so we landed on Holy Land. It was the absolute best. My husband and I both agreed that the falafel was the best we've ever had. I ordered the Arabic shawarma - whew! It was 🔥🔥🔥 The flavor was phenomenal. Unbelievably delightful. The sauces that came with my dinner were sooooo good. We were also given a slice of cake and another dessert without ordering them. The service was top notch and Holy Land was so generous. If and when I go back to Minneapolis, I will absolutely stop by Holy Land. Two thumbs up and then some! 👏👏👏

I had their lemon half chicken and they included naan bread and cucumber sauce. The chicken was so succulent and delicious and juicy and amazing and I can’t recommend it enough. This was my second time eating here and it was just as amazing as the first. I can taste the love in this food. I’ll definitely come back for more.

Holy land has great healthy food. Holy land has one of the biggest restaurants and grocery store in one, where you could shop and grab a bite to eat in Northeast Minneapolis. Holy land is in the heart of Northeast Minneapolis. Very nice customer and delicious food.🔥🔥🌞☀️
Clayton Patterson
Hands down the best ever! Love everything from the falafel to the spinach pie. Cilantro lime chicken kabobs are to good to be true, the chicken is super tender and very flavorful. I can't say anything bad about this establishment, I will be back as often as possible!
Rasikanand Harvind
Definitely coming here more often. Food is fantastic and they give you a ton of food. I made 2 meals out of this. I love how you can see them cook, although that makes the chaos of the kitchen also visible lol. The restaurant area could use a facelift. Feels like it is stuck in the 1990s. The grocery store is attached. I didn't get to check this out, but looks interesting from the outside.
Staff is incredibly energetic, friendly and helpful. The whole vibe of this place is awesome!

Great place! Food is awesome! A must go! Only problem was the order taker did not give me yellow rice like I wanted and that I asked her for. After I was done Amina came over and asked me how it was. I told her great but beside not getting the yellow rice like I asked for. 2 minutes later she brought me a side a yellow rice to take how. Amina is so kind and pleasant.
Thank you for your service Amina.
Yum! 😋
I'm Not Tourist
Nice market with restaurants. Good food and price. I try eat in restaurants and Uber eat too it’s same good tasty.
Nicholas Anderson
This is an amazing restaurant. Everything I've tried has been delicious, and it's easily the best Mediterranean place in town. The staff are kind and attentive, and the extra desserts I've gotten occasionally are much appreciated. For those who have dietary restrictions like myself, the gluten-free, vegan, and vegetarian options are extensive and (wonderfully) filling. The grocery store is also a treasure trove of great choices. This is easily a must-try if you live in the area or are visiting, and you'd be doing yourself a disservice by not at least giving this place a shot.
Thiyagarajan Sridharan (Thiags)
Amazing food , the kitchen looks great and very quick.. the queue for ordering food takes a very long time though... not a fan of their rest rooms.. Chicken shawarma was awesome and the kids loved it and so do their full chickens with Naan... will be back to try other stuffs soon
Faisal Masood
Great awesome Mediterranean food. Chef Choice platter is good for 2-3 people. It comes with so many variety of kebabs, gyro, salad, hummus, honey cake and mint tea.
Rauthi P
Chefs special, overall good experience.
Their dinning area table and chairs could use some maintenance as it's squeeks
Keelia Silvis
I love Holy Land!! Delicious food, huge portions, great price, welcoming staff. Perfect neighborhood take out/dine in place.
Hatem Khalfaoui
The portions are very generous and the food is delicious.
Eric Rinell-Nunn
Absolutely, positively the best food! The food is so good and so flavorful.
The ENTIRE team here is so nice and so friendly. We actually felt like family they were so nice.
If you're considering eating here, do it!!
Highly recommend. We'll be back!
Khizran Noor
We love this place. Food is amazing. So happy that we can find authentic halal and delicious food. A combo not available in this region. Portions are really nice, and flavor is consistent. It's our go to place for tasty meals. We are really fond of one of its staff members named Ameenah. She is always smiling and treats all customers nicely.
Highly recommended. I wish you had the chicken rolls that you had in State Fair this year, in your restaurant on regular basis. We really loved those.

I like the idea of opening a Subway Truck in St Paul international airport. There are lots of Muslims who live in the State, work in the airport who prefer Halal food, and the passengers who stop in the airport. The Muslim passengers will feel so happy to find Halal food the airport, I’m one of them🙂
I just would like to leave a feedback to the owner, or the person who is serving the menu the food in the airport isn’t that good as it is in the restaurant in downtown. Hope it will in my next visit to MN. I used to buy my favorite platter from Holy Land for years. Wish the best to this wonderful restaurant.

Made an online catering order for pick up. Went a little early so I could be sure I was on time. The atmosphere was amazing. The kitchen is open so you can see them making the food which is something I really like in a restaurant. The service had a tiny hiccup in the fact that when I checked in it took a few moments to find the guy working the carting, which was because he was finishing up my order. Since I was early there really can't blame him and given how awesome he was while getting stuff ready and how helpful he was as well as everyone I talked to I will say it is top notch. I had 3 people asking me if I had been helped so there is that.
However the most important part was the food. Which was amazing. Really made our new years get together even better.
Rachel Simmer
Holy Land has amazing food with huge portions, and it's always made fresh in-house. Their hummus is flavorful, their stuffed grape leaves are tangy and delicious, and I've never tried something there that I didn't like.
But don't sleep on their grocery section! They have tons of variety, and excellent selections. If you've needed a spice to make a curry and haven't been able to find it, it's here. Their tea and sweets are also worth a try - especially the Turkish delight. Park in the back if there's no room on the street!
Nick Hernandez
This is far and away the best food I’ve ever eaten in my life. Everything from the homemade hummus with pitas to the delectable meats. You can’t go wrong. When I get the chance to return to Minneapolis this will be my first stop.
Ayla Smiles
best hummus i have ever had. i’m not a hummus person but i ate the whole thing. I see why they were busy for a 3 pm but they were super quick. i wish i got hummus to go back home with. Lots of food for the meal i got. like 3 meals worth of food. fantastic.
Tristan Klausegger
Bring a friend - they give you enough food for two people (in fact, I got three servings out of my meal). I ordered lamb and my friend ordered chicken - comes with hummus and we ordered falafel as an appetizer. They give you a salad too. We left satisfied, and explored the Middle Eastern grocery on the way out.
Jessica Cagle
A friend of ours had Holy Land for their wedding. The communication of events was amazing. The food was phenomenal. The team that arrived were absolutely amazing, thoughtful, curious and were very helpful. Thank you to Holy Land for helping create a beautiful wedding!
Mohamed Gabow
Thanks to HollyLand team for catering my brother’s wedding.
They were on time, the delicious food was served warm, and they cleaned well after them.
Special thanks to brother Ahmed he made us feel he’s one of our family for the responsibility and the dedication.
I’ll definitely recommend them for anyone in Minnesota who has an occasion coming or planning to do one.
Don’t think twice they will delight you!
Nick H
Excellent variety. They carry halal vitamins for Kids and Adult gummies from Greenfield Nutritions
Beckah Morris
10/10 would recommend Holy Land Catering for your next wedding or event!! We recently had Holy Land cater our wedding and loved working with them every step of they way. Ahmed went above and beyond at our tasting to ensure we tried everything we wanted to and was super helpful in crafting a unique menu for our guests. Ahmed and Majdi made us feel a part of the family as they checked in on us leading up to the event. On the wedding day, the Holy Land team provided professional and above and beyond service to us and our guests. THE FOOD WAS AMAZING!! We had a whole lamb and it was by far the best lamb I've ever had and the appetizers were absolutely incredible. Thank you Ahmed, Majdi and the Holy Land team!!!
Kathryn Hashem
The hot food counter was really good, we got a bunch of appetizers and some grilled dishes, all were good, the falafel was very good!
The grocery side had a lot to offer, too. Fresh baked goods, meats, and my favorite, til til instant koshary!
Kathy Howell
Salad was excellent. Shish kabobs were seasoned and cooked perfectly. Best hummus. Friendly service that exceeded expectations. Loved the grocery store. Will be returning soon.
Yashodev Vyas
Wow wow wow! Great place for Middle Eastern, North African, and Indian grocery! Restaurant is mind-blowing! Can get a little pricey, but it is much worth. The platters offer a great amount of selection and variety. Vegetarian options are available!
Brenda La Señora de las Casas
Food is always delicious, great service.
Sallie
Very good! Haven't had a traditional gyro in years was delicious! We both thoroughly enjoyed our choices though it was tough making it. Honey cake they served for dessert was very good & had to get some baklava to bring home!
Sahan360 global
I had salad and rice with lamb. I didn’t like the rice but the atmosphere of the place was really good. The smell of taste food everywhere.
Tim Drake
You can find hard to find middle eastern grocery items here, as well as enjoy similar food in the restaurant. It was extremely busy when I shopped. Be prepared for a crowd on the weekends.
Shivika Singal
We absolutely love this place. The staff and the servers are all very nice and friendly. The variety of cuisines and the menu in general caters to everyone. They have lots of healthy options, vegan, vegetarian and gluten free. They also have fries and sandwiches. My personal favourite is butter naan and all meats are cooked to perfection. We feel so welcomed here and the old lady who waits tables, not sure of her name but she is amazing and super awesome!! The owner served us complementary mint tea after our meal. We were a relatively large group of 6 and they were super accommodating and very nice!! Certainly one of my goto places in twin cities when we are looking for great satisfying food!!
Ana Bundy
I was looking for shawerma, the kind they do in Ukraine. Thats how I found this place. First of all the wrapped shawerma is very juicy. They have two choices chicken or lamb and beef. I have tried both, they both are very tasty. Secondly we have ordered konafeh. Its so good! They also have two choices. I have tried the softer one.
There is a grocery store where they have bakery. We bought some baklava, which was very sweet and with a lot of nuts.
Peach Twentyfifth
We are very glad to have chosen to stop here for lunch and will definitely be back! The place was clean; the food excellent; and the staff very pleasant, polite, and friendly. After eating, we checked out the store and got a few goodies to take home. We were very glad to see everything was very reasonably priced. Overall, it was a great experience and we're looking forward to our next time.
Sarah Karber
Wonderful food and atmosphere. I really enjoyed all the food we tried. Pro-tip for your first visit: It was fairly busy and menus get passed around before you order at the counter, which is very simple once you know what is happening. It seemed to cause some confusion for ordering. So be sure to get a copy of the menu before you get in line, it speeds everything up. They bring your order to the table, but be sure to listen for your number as they are walking around, it can speed up the hide and seek game as there are three main areas for guests to eat in. Everything we ate was wonderful. The portion sizes are meant to share, even the sandwiches are hefty meals in themselves. The sauces are all great and very traditional flavors for Mideast delights. The honey cake is really a nice way to finish off your meal. Once you are done eating, go to the grocery. It is worth walking around and taking home some of their hummus. You can get your choice of mix and match Turkish delight. Also, If you enjoy halal meat, they have a nice selection too. I highly recommend.
Keith Prive
I always love the fast, high quality, and authentic middle eastern food from the Holy Land restaurant. They have many different options to choose from and the opportunity to mix and match different items with your order. The food prices have also recently dropped in price. I also enjoy shopping at the attached grocery store portion of Holy Land. A lot of imported middle-eastern products are available here that you won’t be able to find at other local stores. I’ve enjoyed every experience I’ve had here and will be back the next time I’m in the area.
Angeline Petersen
This place is so yummy, I always ordered their bundle and the portions are big, it takes me 2 days to go through them. I highly recommend the place.
Mike Otten
Good portions with a decent price. Great place to come and grab some groceries as well. Hard to find middle eastern items and good meats. Couldn't wait to eat, so pics reflect it. Big variety of food and specials all of the time.
Joseph Jurek
A go to when in North Minneapolis for Mediterranean/ middle Eastern food. Place is located off of central. They also have two other locations I believe throughout the twin cities. It also have a grocery store connected so you can pick up unique foods not located everywhere else. Order and pay and you can eat it there or to go. Great chicken and lamb dishes with large portions. Shawarma chicken dish with a side of hummus is over of my favorites. Ask to warm the bread up because mine came out cold and a little tough today. Everything else was on point.
Ketan Deshpande Minnesota (Ketan Deshpande MN)
Tasty Mediterranean food and great ambiance. Restaurant was featured on Food Networks Dinners, Drive Ins and Dives. Good size portions, reasonable prices. They are known for a lot of their dishes but get their hummus, good stuff. Falafal is great too.
Baran M
I think it is a bit filthy place. People are supposed to present a clean place esp when it comes to food! They have cool stuff to eat and try ...but cleanses should be a priority!
Captain Cash
Delicious food .. this new renovation put them on a world class. The restaurant is clean, employees are professionals at their work and they have huge selections of foods on the menu. On the opposite side is a retail store full of great products; from meat, bread, olive oil, dates, juices, vegetables, etc. This place is well organized & full stocked. Bravo 👏🏿
Rafs GF
This place was awesome! Such yummy food and fast service. It is in a grocery store but it's a big restaurant and lots of sitting space. Really clean and friendly staff. The place was featured on an episode of Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives with Guy Feiri and that episode is playing on all the TVs in the place :) they did a great job with everything. We all ordered grape leaves, adult and child cheeseburger, philly cheese steak (delicious), chicken wings, gyro plate. Everything was wonderful! Have a few pics
Diana Eide
I did not realize how extensive the grocery store is here. So many options including a meat area where you can place larger orders and an olive bar. I picked up a few gifts of candy as they had many things you don’t find in other places. I also had lunch here and it’s always good, but the gyros are so large and difficult to eat. I wish they would change up how they serve these.
Gene Hinders
Grabbed some lunch at Holy Land in Minneapolis...The Mrs had the Chicken Lovers Combo (Chicken Kabobs, Chicken Gyro, Greek Chicken, Chicken Kufta Kabob)...I opted for the Arabic Shawirma Lovers Combo (Chicken, Beef&Lamb). Very tasty, great seasoning and sauces for dipping. The Basmati rice is very good in it's own right and a piece of Honey Cake was brought out for each of us with our meals. Everything was just right on the spice levels and the staff were very pleasant.
Great sized portions for the price.
Free parking out behind the restaurant and you wander though the grocery area before reaching the restaurant area. Straight ahead is where you'll find the menus and register where you'll place your order and pay...they give you a number to place on your table. They bring your food to you and bus the tables when you are done.
Jackie LaVaque
Love this place. High quality food with huge portions... I brought half of it home! I got the appetizer platter. The best hummus in town! I'm a big fan and will keep coming here. Best Middle Eastern food on this side of the river!
CJ
There is a lot going on at Holy Land! Parking wasn't bad since there is street parking and a lot near the building that I think is okay to park in. Atleast a worker said it was okay to park there so I figured it was fine. After walking in, I noticed that there was also a supermarket inside too! I went to order food first and the menu was huge. I was flustered on what I was going to get, but I ended up going with the Persian Beef Kebob. While I waited for my food to be prepared, I went over to the supermarket to look at drinks. I went with the mango nectar Mira, but the selection of food and drinks was amazing in such a small area. Since they prepare alot of this food fresh in an open style kitchen, some items take longer but it was worth the short wait. The meal was delicious. The kebobs could have used a bit more flavor but everything worked well together. I will say that the portion size was big so keep in mind that this could've easily fed two people. With such a big menu, I will have to make my way back here to try something different next time. Also this place is quite unique and has a food culture that I want to explore more of.
Ellie P
I spent 2 years in the Middle East. I crave the food and the desserts. Wish there were more places like Holy Land in the Twin Cities. Food there is always flavorful and the service is always prompt. I go there once a month and love everything about the place. Never had a bad experience.
Gerald Granados
Oh man the food here is just amazing I dont think you can get anything wrong honestly and the people working there are so nice and friendly, they even stopped by our table to see how we where doing and to thank us for coming in.
Susan Sabie
Everything was fantastic. The gyro was good, the fries were yummy, even the fountain Mt. Dew was flavorful. And the best part was that they have their to go containers sitting out where you can help yourself. No need to wait 10 mins to get a box for your leftovers.
George Chahine (George)
First time to this place ,highly recommended by friends. Biggest key for me is portions and this place serves huge portions. Amazing service and food tastes even better definitely will be back
Bella Grace
I love Holy Land! Their other locations dont best their original location of northeast. I've been looking for good chicken schwarma and this is the best! I would highly recommend trying their restaurant or grocery store. Their hummus is better and cheaper than a grocery store like target. Only a day old pita is marked down but they have so many flatbreads. The only thing that would be more expensive is fruits or veggies.
Just Tom
Some of the best food I've had in a whole and it's not not 100% like it is from home apparently but it's still very good.
Mushir Ahmed Basheer
Good place to dine in, nice variety of Mediterranean food and delicious. Hospitality is great, they serve free desert occasionally.. visit here
Boda TheDestroyer
Incredible food. Even better service. I asked an employee if they had Korma sauce mix. He looked it up and they did...at their warehouse 20 minutes away. He offered to have someone rush deliver it to us and in the mean time offered us FREE tea and pastries while we waited. All this for a $4 box of mix. The selections are stellar. Meal portions in the restaraunt are huge and flavor bombs. Going to be a regular stop for me from now on. Do be intimitated by cultural differences. Just go and be ready to be blown away.
Tod Hunt
The food here was fresh and amazing. We had chicken Kabobs, chicken and beef shawarma. The food came out within 15 minutes of ordering, the staff was excellent, friendly, and very helpful. I highly recommend the place.
Frank Marchio
Finally came here and went beyond my expectations. The lunch menu is where it’s at and I love the grocery store
Abdullah Almamun
It's a nice halal restaurant. I think they need to improve their food quality. Otherwise everything is okay.
Jake Saewert
I’ve been coming to Holy Land for years and thought it was finally time for a review. Their gyros are fantastic - easily the best in MSP. But my all time favorite is the hummus. It’s so good good it isn’t fair.
Todd Stratman
The chicken Shawarma was one of the best I have ever had and the hummus was amazing. Truly a hidden gem in the city. We will certainly be going back.
Doa Al
I’ve been coming here for 21 years and it’s always a good experience. The staff are welcoming. The store is well stocked with a large variety. Their restaurant food is great with generous portions at good prices.
D. Graff
Best shawarma in the area. Breakfast is also great. The staff is *always* very friendly, courteous, and helpful both in the restaurant and in the market. Both are also clean and well stocked. The kids like to see the shawarma and gyros being made in the open kitchen.
aaron aldrich
A family favorite. Friendly/great service/even better food. Weve been coming here for years. Had to buy my dad some of the fresh pita bread cause he couldnt make the trip! :)
Berylla Gem
Went to the state fair and tried Holy Land's lamb kebab and chicken. It was amazing. Went to buy more at their restaurant. The food was good but not as good as the state fair. Hoping that our next visit, the food measures up. Photo is our leftovers from state fair.
Hannah M
Awesome, fresh, authentic food with a casual setting. Also attached to an awesome grocery store! They carry so many cool products, a lot of which are from Palestine. Really nice people too.
Evan Hesse
Incredible food and service. Really an incredible place that has everything you could need from groceries, dining, and even a new experience.
Highly recommend!
Ishmam Ahmed
Legendary food, quality, and service. I had not been back since the remodel until today, and was blown away by how much the place has changed since its humble beginnings. A veritable treasure trove of Mediterranean cuisine—the best of the best. Prices are very reasonable, and the staff are knowledgable and welcoming. There is a whole glow about the place. Fitting that it’s called Holy Land.
L M (Loli)
Giant freaking falafel wrap I’ve seen. I got the #32 that has all the veggies including sautéed veggies. I even like how they sample out their falafel balls while you’re dining in.
goat par
The food is good and the staff is great! Love how the restaurant has a store inside plus a bathroom!!! Food is always good never disappoints! Would reccomend 👍🏽👍🏽
Bryan English (swamiTech)
I cannot convey how much a treasure Holy Land is. The quality of the food is unparalleled, the staff is kind and helpful, and the grocery store has all those great hard to find items. It is well worth the trip to come here even if you live farther out. I wish I could give more stars!
Mr k (Ed)
Exceptional customer service. Love the food. Always consistent quality and service.
Thomasina Kundalini
I have watched this place grow for decades. Great Egyptian food and groceries. Good for vegetarian delights!
Sam Rifaat
Tried foul, falafel and hummus it was amazing.
Chicken platter was not the greatest theater and portion was small for price.
Ray Seville
Thee best Lamb Chops, my mom, aunt and brother loved ❤ ♥ 💙 the food. Perfect seasoning
Brian Richardson
Stopped for lunch, one of few dine in experiences since the pandemic and I was impressed with the social distancing and mask wearing. Food was fantastic, best hummus I've ever had
Nayab Latif
We had the chance to dine in at their restaurant and it was OK. Nothing outstanding though. The grocery shop has a wide range of stuff but the prices are relatively higher.
Larissa O
The service was great and the food was amazing!! Definitely will be returning
luis colmenares
Very nice food, the portions are gigantic and everyone is super friendly 👌 …
Moe Graphy
Expensive but good food
Love it! Love the customer service! Loved the 1/2 pound cheese burger and their Shawaya Spicy Chicken with potato garlic sauce.
Emily Braverman
Great mediterranean food, a family favorite. Items are a hit or miss but most are a hit. Big fans of the hummus and mediterranean homemade flat bread
Michael Bellotti
Hands down one of my favorite places to eat in Northeast Minneapolis. I’ve brought a number of friends there for their first time and they agree. Even at its busiest the wait is never very long. The menu has a ton of options and is moderately priced. What ever you do do not try the fries. If you do you’ll be hooked like me.
Only thing I dislike about this location is the parking lot. It’s a pain to try to navigate during busy times. If you can snag a street stop I would.
ABDELMAJID ELMATERZI
I had this dish there it was very good and delicious I loved it
Senorita Charrington
Best Middle Eastern food in Minneapolis! Friendly Staff and a Grocery store. My new Goto place.
Crystal LeAnn
I don’t usually write reviews for places, but Holy Land definitely deserves the 5 stars, and then some!
I am in the Minneapolis area for the night, and decided to try their restaurant. Everything was REALLY good, but their dolma is honestly the best I’ve ever had in my life. Loved it!!
Jayson Morris (Kingsota)
Great place
The best place to get Halal food in Minnesota sometimes seems like the only place
Jack LeTexier
This place is absolutely amazing! I love the food and staff. They are very representative of Arab culture and hospitality. Will be coming back for more خبز!
Conrad Greene
The hospitality is second to none. I was met by the owner who shook my hand and explained the menu to me. Great value for outstanding food. I would highly recommend this restaurant!!!
Pam Kuepper
Very good food. Staff was very helpful at helping us find a table. Apparently this is a popular place to go.
Toni McWilliams
Great customer service. Food was amazing. My son and I will come again.
Sarah Richter
Staff there are always so kind and helpful. Great variety of foods.
Haroon Ahmed
Excellent store to buy Middle Eastern food. The staff are very caring, helpful and extremely professional. I will visit them again.
khalid yousif
I got lamb burger this time around, I liked it. I thought the meat was a bit overcooked but over all it was a solid burger.
I usually get the Mediterranean Chicken sandwich, falafel or Philly cheese steak (you have beef or chicken options).
I like their fries.
Also take the time to explore the shop attached to it while your food is getting prepared, you might find a gem or two.
Edward Brockman
Always great food! Gyro and hummus were perfect.
Susie Scott
Had the hummus, falafel, holy land chix sandwich, and beef/lamb gyro sandwich. Was very good and sandwiches were large. Hummus is best I've had. Comfortable, casual dining room. Easy, free parking.
Paul Bellefleur
I'm a loyal customer since 1998, and no business deserves to be supported more than Holy Land Deli! Great products and people who bend over backwards for their customers, community and the twin cities.
joseph Ndeto
Variety of international food and other domestic products, ready to go food, restaurant and food store under one roof. Mediterranean, Indian, African, Arabica and more. Love it.
Dorthy Vitullo
Love this place! Shop or eat twice a month....quality meats, olives, cheeses, and dine in food is on point!
Trevre Andrews
Best middle eastern place in Minnesota by far. There is nothing you can’t find or they wouldn’t bend over backwards to get for you here. Mashalla

From the grocery store to the bakery, it's a large place with lots of options. Great food, amazing desserts and phenomenal staff. A must see if in Minneapolis mn!
Hugh Phillips
Excellent middle eastern themed restaurant and grocery. The grocery has a large variety from fresh produce and meat to spices, nuts, teas, olives, hummus and beverages. I am especially happy to find Jallab syrup, many varieties of halva, and baklava. The prices on those items are very good - better than any mail order prices. Service at the restaurant on a Sunday afternoon was very fast, the portions generous for the price, well prepared with great flavor and plenty of seating space for eat-in. Of the Holy Land locations in Minneapolis this is the best - the one at the Midtown Global market is much smaller and for groceries at least that means less selection and stock.
Anna Doorenbos
Our larger group was a bit chaotic, but they were very kind and nice to us, some of who were eating middle eastern food for the first time. Food was delicious and they gave us complimentary baklava! Highly recommended, would return.
Violet Aurora
Never have I been more impressed by a deli experience than I am at Holy Land. From the kind staff to the wonderful, palate-pleasing food. Holy Land is a must for all seeking real, healthful food. May God bless all who continue to support this wonderful family owned business. Thanks especially to the owner, who made my first visit an unforgettable one.
Hannah Lepird
Service was very good. We had a large group for a work lunch and they even included some appetizers (hummus, pita and falafel) on the house. It was a very welcome surprise. The food is absolutely delicious. Will definitely come back
Jon Peterson
The Philly sandwich is the best Philly I have ever had—any version(chx/beef). It is absolutely 10/10. The chicken and rice dishes are delish as well.
Juanita Drabek
Excellent food. It is easy to order online, food was ready when we arrived.
Anna Mier
Holy land home of the best fresh hummus.the restaurant is a treasure on Central. A lovely small grocery store filled with Mediterranean imports.
false
I’ve been coming here for over 20 years. My father shops there more than I do, I go mainly for the food. I recommend the Greek Chicken or kabobs
Leon
I like the selection of things here. The meat is good, but not very good quality.
John Weirick
Easily one of the most essential establishments in Minneapolis eating. Every time the food is fresh, the flavors robust and varied, the sauces delicious. Nice to have variety of dinner plates and simple pita sandwiches. Favorites are falafel, grape leaves, chicken shawarma, gyro, and the hot red sauce.
Gazamfar1 Razvi
The food was very good and flavorful. Our order went smoothly with no problems, A lady waiter was very kind giving us complimentary desserts and salads. They have amazing customer service and wait time went by quickly. We had no problems and I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a Mediterranean cuisine and is Zabiha Halal.
Michael Baporis
A great fast casual restaurant and delicious Mediterranean and middle eastern foods. I really enjoyed the chicken platter. HUGE portions! Would take a friend.
David Lundeen
The food here is amazing whether it's a bite to eat or taking stuff home. Great prices for the amount of food. Really friendly and helpful service. A must go to location in Northeast.
Joshua Corley
Amazing restaurant, great service, friendly and helpful service and an amazing environment. I would DEFINITELY recommend this place to any and Everybody!
Crystal Romero
Finally had some chicken Shawarma! OMG this was amazing!!! The service was excellent also!!!
Kausar M.
Everytime we go their food is on point and delicious and the food portions are always good for 2 or more people!
Jen Jenny Jennifer Jamison Johnson Jones
This place is a total gem. Best middle eastern food in the state if you ask me. I’ve been going here for years and the quality has never changed. The food and service are always exceeding my expectations. I would highly recommend to anyone and everyone.
Epsilon Peters
Great restaurant. Great grocery store. You can smell that chicken spinning over an open flame from blocks away.
Mz Bren bren
I had the opportunity to eat here three times while visiting in Minnesota
The food was delicious it was a grocery store and rest all together in one location but one did not obstruct the other let’s focus on the restaurant
The cashier was friendly and knowledgeable the food was amazing it was lite and flavorful absolutely delicious I would recommend this restaurant for anyone visiting the Twin Cities you must go to the holy land they give you more than enough portions you’ll have enough for the next day
The chicken was tender and juicy had a smoke grill flavor the hummus was smooth delicious the rice was perfect
One word to describe this food “amazing” I can go on and on about this food
I really appreciate good food
They deserve 10 stars a must visit
Li-Hua Sung
Lanb kabobs were great. Groceries are limited and pricier than other grocery stores.
Deepa Nirmal
What an absolute NE Minneapolis gem this place is! We have been coming for years and their quality and service has never fluctuated. They are always busy so the food is crazy fresh. I can't eat falafel anywhere else because Holy Land has set the bar so high.
The service is very warm and hospitable even if not everyone is fluent in English. There is a lovely lady who knows I'm a regular and always brings me a couple of pieces of honey cake (SO good!). Today I took a couple of friends and told her I was introducing new people to one of my favorite restaurants. In addition to the honey cakes she brought over a jug of mint tea. I hadn't tried it before, delicious! I feel like they are such good ambassadors of Arab culture.
Our family favorite is the Chef's Choice, a massive selection of dishes that can feed 7-8 people, very reasonably priced for the quality and quantity.
On your way out snag some pitas, hummus, olives, feta, and date cookies from the store. Everything is top notch.
Peter Lamm
Holy Land is a middle-eastern food market, bakery and restaurant that is thoroughly modern in it's presentation and amenities yet also thoroughly ethnic in the types of foods they sell.
You enter the market first having to go by the bakery section where you will find many flatbread favorites freshly baked using original ingredients and recipes from Greece, Turkey, Lebanon, Afghanistan, Iraq etc and more recently from Somalia and Ethiopia. Continue to the market with its many well-ordered and well-stocked shelves of fresh meats, fruits & vegetables, cheeses, sausages, vats of olives and so on. Everything here is halal and by the way there are hundred of imported middle-eastern canned and bottled etc food products here as well. After filling your basket, proceed to checkout and find yourself hungry and tired on the other end of the counter at the entrance to a restaurant. See, it's all under one roof!
We ordered a Turkish beef kebab with steaming basmati rice. They serve generous portions. Wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our dish split between the two of with enough left over to take away. When we return gonna make a beeline for the excellent rotisserie roast chicken or maybe the flame- grilled lightly curried meats, it's hard to decide. Recommend!
Cyndi Lunning
Food was delicious, portions were enormous! My son said, we will be back 😎!
Rawl Williams
Awesome food, lovely place to eat and hang with family.

First time here definitely coming back ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Lana Epps
One of the highlights of my trip to Minnesota. The food was terrific and I managed to purchase a few items. Did I mention how kind the patrons and staff were? Scored clove oil at a great price
Kelsey Mead
My young daughter and I stopped in yesterday to buy some gyro meat. It being my first time there, we had walked around to look at everything. The place was clean, organize, and stocked. The employees were extremely friendly and very welcoming. Even waved at my daughter who then would wave back. They were busy, but in the best way. I would love to eat at the restaurant someday! The gyro meat I purchased was delicious and great quality. I will absolutely be back to buy more items. Thank you!
Tyler Mason
15 hours later, I am still in awe of my experience. I went in with moderate expectations and was blown away by the sheer magnificence of the food, the decadent portions, and the warm and magnanimous hospitality of the staff. Everything was above and beyond, and each new item I tried, from the salad to the hummus to the lamb steaks, was among the best I've ever had anywhere. With food this good, I may now have to seriously consider converting to Islam. Bravo.
Mikayla
They have a wide variety of halal groceries. Their hummus is really good. At the time of writing this review, I have only been to the grocery part. I want to eat at the restaurant soon. I wish they would open more locations.
Alena Adem
Super nice service with chef going around asking about food and giving out baklava and tea. Clean and sittings can be arrange 6ft away, so feels very safe. Goat burger was delicious. Been a costumer for 10 years now and realy see lots of imptovement.
Sami Ammons
😋 A great food & grocery experience. Chicken & Lamb Shawarma are fantastic. Lots of fresh good grocery variety.
D. W.
Beyond wonderful employees. There was a small mishap with part of my order and instead of serving me mediocre food, they remade it for me, and added additional dessert at no extra cost. Will definitely be returning. Delicious!
Angela Kirsch
I've had good luck here in the past but on my last couple of visits to the grocery, the older men seem kind of bothered when asked for assistance - the young boy was the kindest/most helpful.
Gyro was delicious and we enjoyed the baklava with chocolate drizzled on top.
There was an online ad on Cyber Monday for buy 1 get 1 free baklava. The two cheaper trays ($12 & $20 I think) were sold out. I decided to get the one for $32 or $35 and I asked the man to verify the ad because there were no signs posted in the store - he said no...
even though I showed him the ad, it wouldn't be buy 1 get 1 free.
I might none instead. 👎
Zia ul Islam
Nice place to explore Mediterranean food and groceries.
Mariam H
I like the grocery part more than the restaurant. If you're into middle eastern food and spices this is your one stop shop. They also make pretty good Arabic bakery. There is also a butcher available.
Paul Greeman
The supermarket is great. The staff are knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. Coming from Europe, I can find many of the same brands and cuts of meat (bone marrow) at reasonable prices. The restaurant is lively and feels like a community gathering space - in the best possible way. Give this place a try, you will not be disappointed.
Tom Smitz
Wonderful food and service. Highly recommended. Some of the best middle eastern cuisine we have ever had. Exceeded our high expectations. Thank you!
Abdur Rahman
Been to this place a lot and never disappointed. I mean probably the best Mediterranean restaurant in whole Minnesota
Brett K
Tasty food. Glad we visited. Not fancy.
Tony Zuchora-Walske
I highly recommend Holy Land. The food is amazing, the portions are ginormous, the service is quick, the staff are very welcoming, and the menu has plenty of vegetarian and gluten-free options.
Ian Ward
Best gyros in Minnesota. Perhaps the world.... Lol, in all seriousness this is the premiere middle eastern restaurant here. You can't go wrong with literally anything on the menu. I have not had bad or inedible food from holy land ever. It should be a must visit spot for tourists and locals, if you have not been or ordered from there yet, don't wait. You will be wondering what you were waiting for
houssine Bout
Extremely good. There wasn't one thing I found bad. The staff there are kind, nice, friendly, and very clear when talking about something. Though it was a little pricey, I would recommend my friends to eat here.
Rashid Jones
Good food. Fast service. Friendly staff. Will return.
Tiffany C
Me and my loved ones had a very positive experience here! We had one of those chef family platters and it was delicious and the portion was very generous. The staff was super friendly! I hope i can come back soon.
Sueda Suleiman
Amina was my server and she was so polite and kind. This restaurant has amazing customer services!! A-1 all the way!!!
Travis O'Malley
Hands down the best Mediterranean food I've ever had!!!!
Krista
This place has improved a lot over the years. It used to be dry sandwiches and entrees from the restaurant, dirty aisles in the grocery and a chaotic parking lot. If you haven't been back since then, I recommend giving Holy Land a try again.
Some years ago they remodeled everything from the entrances to the bathrooms and rebuilt the restaurant area. The food is delicious and offers entrees, wraps, sandwiches, salads, appetizers, plus a menu for children and family size dinner platters to go or dine-in.
The grocery is my go-to for olive oil and global spices at reasonable prices and great flavor. The deli has great hummus and tabouli that is also sold in large grocery stores around the Metro.
Street parking in the front or a parking lot in the back. Next door to Eastside Co-op.
Jill Joseph
Not only is the food in the restaurant great, the produce is awesome.
Andrea Kallay
My daughter and I were in Minneapolis and I wanted to check this place out. I knew she’d be excited because she loves samosas.
It was fun to browse the grocery store and our lunch was fabulous. She got the vegetable samosas and falafel and I had a gyro. We both had a piece of baklava for dessert. Service was fantastic. While we were eating a really friendly worker asked if everything was ok and if we needed any other sauces. I told him the food was great- and we decided to try a different sauce we hadn’t had before. He chatted with us for a few minutes. It’s was such a pleasant experience- I wish we lived nearby because we’d be there all the time.
Abdifetah Abdirahman
Had a amazing experience. Every friendly. Best customer service. Well recommended!
M B
I ordered the gyro combo platter and it was the best gyro I’ve ever had. It did not taste greasy and I’m glad that they gave the sauces as sides instead of soaking the food with them like what most other places do.
I’ll definitely order from here again.
George Effrem
They care about the customer and the needs and requests that we want. I noticed that now they have camel 🐫 mik yogurt for better health. Wow that is unique! …
Malik F
I have been here twice and the food was great in each visit. Fresh, delicious and friendly service. I highly recommended it. The owner also help as to manage our container of meat and carried it with us to our car. Like this place and I can feel the positive energy in each time I go there and it becomes one of my plan when I visit Minneapolis.
Dan M
I go here 4 or 5 times a year. I can not say enough nice things about their staff. What they offer is hard to find up in Duluth MN. I have had the guy who I believe is their manger come up to me several times over the past couple of years and say friend what is it you are looking for. On this last trip we ate there and a staff member brought us a free desert and thanked us for eating there. As a side comment...I recommend trying their French feta. Less salty as regular feta and more creamier. My favorite feta.
Eric Mistry
Always great food and a wonderful grocery as well.
Leroy Blanks (Buddy Dick)
Very good Middle Eastern Cuisine ! Excellent service and humongous portions.
These folks have to be the hardest working people in the restaurant game. Very clean and Excellent eating environment.
There also is a very good supermarket in the same building. Best of all they are open 7 days a week from 9am to 9pm. Hard workers.
Lily Blodgett
This is one of the best places to eat ever. The food was warm and fresh (my family LOVES the hummus and the gyros), and everyone left happy and satisfied. The attached store is also very nice. Overall an amazing place, and I would recommend it to anyone and everyone!
Mohamed Selim
Restaurant and Grocery. Everything you need and it offers Halal meet and products for muslems. Great place.
Jonathan Powe
Really good food nice friendly staff some beautiful lady's work there but mostly guys clean restaurant and clean bathroom
Steve Rawlins
Pita and other fresh bread. "Middle East" includes Palestine, Somalia, Israel, and Ethiopia and US and France and Bulgaria - something for everyone. Good selection of import and local, jams, honey, fresh olives and feta. Easy to find on Central and Lowry.
Ali Alshlhawi
The workers are very nice and the food is amazing
Luis G
Great place for Mediterranean food. Always packed and you always see Middle Eastern and Somali people eating here, which speaks of the place’s authenticity. Go with the chef’s choice platter and save some space for a couple baklavas. You can also try Vimto (a Middle Eastern soda) which compliments the food nicely.
They also have a grocery store in the same location, so you can try to replicate Middle Eastern dishes or simply try something different.
Nathan Maul
I love this place. The market has great selection, but what really won me over was the deli. Their portion size is incredibly generous, and the food is excellent. Not least of all, the service was very friendly. I will definitely go back.
Bridget Fragale
Their brand is delicious and their deli is always on point and I really love the store for specific items I can only find here.
Chris Joas
Great food. I want to try some more things on the menu. Tandoori chicken.
Erica Menzel
I've been going to holy Land for 30 plus years. The food has never gone down in quality, oddly the prices don't increase very often and the few cents increase that they have had in the past 30 years is minimal. They've expanded their store remained in the same location and with the next storefront that they expanded into they now have a larger seating area for dining customers or if you're doing carry out, I never have to search for or wait for a place to sit; the grocery store has more selections and continues to carry the classics that everyone expects to see, the deli has increased in space making it a better place to be working while at the same time allowing a larger influx of customers to be able to come in get their quality product that they're used to and get out making the whole process extremely efficient.
Lisa Snyder
Delicious, authentic food! Huge portions. Fast service. Highly recommend!
ovaice asif
Good food overall and don't forget rice cake..
Khalil Mohammed
Fantastic marketing in this place for its wide variety of perfect goods, fresh fruits & vegetables and dairy products. The restaurant serves delicious tasty meals to all global people! Prices affordable on all products. Customer satisfaction is a top priority. It’s a second to none!
J
Drove from Wisconsin to visit some friends. I always stop here for dinner or an early lunch. I always think I look like someone they know because I am always treated so well by the family. Today my children and I all had kabobs and as we finished we were given slices of a beautiful Namoura cake.
I'm a big white guy who stands out like a sore thumb :) over the past 10 years I've always been treated so well. Love you guys and your food!
Brandon Martin
Very clean and so many items to choose from! I never knew there were so many kinds of olives!! I love olives!! And the entree that my good friend jason picked for us was such a delicious meal that I will eat again and again! The custom lemon seasoned meat strips inside gyros and the yellow rice was the best! Thank you so much for the great experience and meal Jason and employees at holy land!!
Paul Weimer
Still top tier Mediterranean goodness . I was able to find Pomelos, which I got a taste for on a recent trip to SE Asia
khyber Malikzai
It’s very great place to shop and eat with friends/ family very helpful and polite servants especially service is wonderful.
You will find much more places to eat, but Holy Land is the super great place they have variety foods and good options for kids too.
mark flakne
Staff is very friendly, Food is served in a fast manner. The food is very good as is the seasoning. And I highly recommend you try something new on their menu the lamb chops. Very tasty.
Clare Peterson
Great experience. Group of us. People were gracious and patient twords my baby neice and elderly Mother. Food was wonderful! Falafel yummy! The Chef's plate was full of all kinds of meats and flavors! Thank you for your hospitality!
I don't know when i can get back there again, but will surely recommend it to my friends !!!
Mike Oconnor
It is a great place to eat. Food tastes super delicious 😋 …
Summer
Love this place! The restaurant staff is super friendly and their food is the best in MN, in my opinion. I totally recommend this place to anyone looking for a low key super clean place to hang out and enjoy some healthy middle eastern/turkish food. Their prices are also pretty unbeatable with large servings on pretty much all dishes with complementary salads, tea, and sweets!
Miss X
Very cute grocery stores with a little bit of everything in there. I came for the baklava. The service was nice smooth and fast. I haven’t tried out the mini restaurant yet but would love to come back. Sadly I don’t like the small and crowded roads.
Mohammad Abuhadid
Amazing customer service and clutched out a last minute order for iftaar when they were busy. Food is always fresh and tastes really good!
Kristeen Bullwinkle
Haven't been here in years. More seating now. Food was very good, but there was some confusion because server didn't speak English.
Order at counter.
Only place I know in Twin Cities to buy frozen rabbit.
Black River
Seems like the quality of baklava and other things had gone down. Using sugar instead of honey or a little honey depending on which one you choose. They don't even use honey in the honey cake.
Laura Potter
Food was well made, flavorful, and good quality. Staff was not very welcoming or helpful when trying to decide what to order. They didn't acknowledge we were there or ask if we had any questions. This was my first time eating this cuisine so it would have been nice to have had help as the menu is huge and very overwhelming. Once we got our food the woman cleaning the tables and bringing us the food was very pleasant and welcoming. Wish we would have had that experience when we were ordering. Overall, the food is good but the customer service needs a lot of work.
Abdullah Ahsan
Great food, great store, and great experience. What else can you ask for? I know this place has been plagued with controversy in the past, but this specific location is pretty great. The meat is fairly high quality, the restaurant has AMAZING food. Some of the best food I’ve had to be completely honest.
OMAR ASGHAR
All the chicken and vegetables stuff I've tried is excellent. Persian kababs, cilantro chicken, South Western chicken kababs. Need to try the fish and shrimp next.
Aleisha Theisen
We had dinner at Holyland and it was excellent. An employee welcomed us and gave us tips on what to order since we were newcomers. I am vegetarian, and I really like the entree he recommended for me. Portion sizes were large, and our meals came with drinks and desserts, including an extra surprise piece of cake an employee brought us from the kitchen that was super delicious. We have enough leftovers for a second meal. Great place, glad we checked it out.
Nilesh Naik
The food was okay and they have a lot of options. Definitely not upto the hype but it' was probably because they were full because of Ramzan. But will come back definitely.
Colleen Bayer
Casual and excellent. They are pros!
Heather Beck
The store has a very good selection of halal foods and meats. The prices are a bit high, and there have been a few times we've bought packaged sandwich meat which turned out to be slimy and expired. It was the only shop that carried certain halal sausages that I liked, but they're not stocked anymore. I would love to see more western style halal foods. As a convert, I sometimes crave some foods I can no longer eat.
Ali Abdel Halim علي عبد الحليم HATOUM
Over priced and over rated.
For example, they sell their own brand of Hummus for $3 more than the same exact product (Holy Land hummus) at Costco, even though Costco is still making money on it and selling it for 50% less. You think you would pay the same price when you shop here, not really.
Benjamin Schuster
Get the gyro plate or rotisserie chicken and while it cooks pick up hummus, habanero pita chips, olives, and spicy labneh from the deli.
Stephen lindelof
First time I was there and it was really good.
Reina L-C
A wonderful store & restaurant! The meats are well cooked, with amazing rice to go with it. The pita is fluffy, buttery, and fresh, so combining it with hummus is delicious. The falafel is available for vegetarians, and it is simply WONDERFUL. It goes well with hummus, as do most good things on earth. The employees are very kind and understanding! The service is great! The store part is really interesting, with diverse selections of anything from tea, to meat, to exotic sodas. The entire space is very open, inviting, and has a mouth-watering aroma. A tasty, remarkable trip for everyone!
Vivin Sam
The place is good price, the food is good. But could be better. Has a good place for quick bite, as service is fast paced. There is car parking available for customers. A good selection of Middle eastern and African delicacies. Unique selection of bread. They also have a decent selection of middle Eastern sweets for sale. Prices are fare too.
Jeffrey Wright
The Gold Standard for all things Middle Eastern and Mediterranean food. Exceptional food made in house and very good quality across the board.
Very good hummus and breads. Exceptional Persian lamb kebabs. Great salads.
Very reasonable prices and a curb side service model that is highly efficient.
My mottos is “if you’re going to do something, nail it.” And Holy Land nailed it on pretty much all points.
Highly Recommended
canna bliss
Some of the best humus and baba ganoush in twin cities, excellent restaurant/deli, Great food
Ned Tavale
Curbside pickup process was simple, quick and covid friendly. Food was extraordinary. Gyro and chicken shawarma were well portioned. I wasn't expecting much from fries but they were some of the best fries I've had in a while. Crispy and well seasoned. Samosas were flavorful as well. Will be back again for sure.
goodnews Minnesota
Love the food here! Great small taste of what it might be like in the "Holy Land" (Middle East). I've brought Muslim friends here from Pakistan and it's a great place to get halal foods! I was here recently and they remodeled. Looks very elegant and more dining-friendly! They also have a grocery store and I recommend the baked goods!
Chris Smith
All the savory combinations, a wood fire with rotisserie chicken grilling above, and hot grills to make naan and so many other tasty items. Very friendly and helpful staff. Ample portions, too.
Mustafa Khalid
Holy land is amazing. I’m sure most of us can really verify that their food is truly amazing and a treat. The workers are nice, and many families come down to eat here. I would give it a five star, but the only thing that isn’t amazing is the price. Most likely due to the expensive cost of food, families don’t come here as often. It’s like a once in a while kind of place. The food is 5/5 Though, but that’s the only set back. Other than that, Amazing!
Michele Asmussen
Love Holy Land! The food is authentic and delicious. The servers and staff were attentive, kind and genuine. I only wish they sold lamb on a stick like they do at the fair. Everything on the menu is great! Buy homemade hummus in the store.
Yvette Dizon-Gist
Decided to stop by after seeing the raving reviews. Those reviews were accurate. We ordered two of the shawarma lover combo. They were absolutely delicious!! I loved both the chicken and lamb/beef. The cucumber sauce is a perfect compliment to the dish. The hospitality was also good. A woman who welcomed us in have my children some coconut candy and offered us all some honey cake. The honey cake was amazing! Imagine cornbread but sweeter and with a buttery/milky aftertaste. Obviously it is worth visiting!
Jennifer Markey
My daughter and I got take out last weekend. She ordered the falafel wrap and I ordered the kufta sandwich. We also got an appetizer platter and baklava. My sandwich was awesome, though in the pita it is hard to eat. Next time I will get the wrap, like my daughter did. It is tightly wrapped and much easier to handle. The appetizers were all great. Their baba ghanouj is delicious and smoky and their hummus is basic but very good. Their pita bread is the best. The stuffed grape leaves were very good, tightly wrapped and convenient to eat. I thought the honey in the baklava was a little crystallized which bugged me a little, but my daughter loved it.
I’m gonna be honest; every time I visit Holy Land, I expect mediocrity because they’ve gotten so big and so popular. But I am never disappointed. This place is awesome; the food is on point and the grocery store is incredible.
Gene Johnson
Excellent food that's carefully prepared. Friend Cheryl B from Michigan says it's the best Middle Eastern food she's ever had.
Nasren kh
A lot of variety of food. Didn’t like the restaurant aria. Workers were going around us to pick empty plates as soon as we start eating. You feel like being watched. Couldn’t eat at all . It’s busy place.
Sara Barber
Have been coming there for almost 20 years and now drive 20 miles for this food. Overall great value. Nice to have a market next door for extra hummus and bread and so much more! I had the honor of meeting the owner years ago and i had no idea who he was when he approached me. Very nice man!
Peggy Banta
I LOVE this place. Very friendly people. GREAT FOOD !!! GREAT SERVICE !!! Hum De Ahlah ❤️
Leroy Blanks
Great store for groceries, especially all types of meats. Lamb, goat, fish, chicken, and beef. They also have a fantastic restaurant at the Northeast and Minneapolis-St.Paul Airport locations. The foods are healthy and delicious. Best of all they are open seven days a week from 9 until 9.
Abdulrahman Salem
It deserves one hundred stars and more. Everything here is great. Starting staffs and foods and market. I strongly recommend visiting for eating and shopping. There are a lot of Arabic foods such as dates and olives.
Nikhil Kalothia
Awesome food. Highly recommend. The beef, lamb, chicken platter tasted delicious and the side salad was also good. The place was packed, but I was able to order and get my food right away. The service was good even though you order at counter and they bring you your food. Good place to watch football. They have their own parking lot.
Farhan Ahmed
This holy land was very nice. Has a large selection of products and meat. I gave the butcher my order for chicken but he pointed to the stand and I was right in assuming all the chicken was in the refrigerated stand and I would have to pick from there. They did not have chicken legs with the skin off. It was somewhat of an inconvenience. I was glad to find they also had a selection of heart. The restaurant seemed clean and a nice place to dine. I am unsure on the food and prices. I would expect the food to be good.
Leanna Abdelmaged
I was amazed at the variety of items available in the restaurant and grocery store. Obviously, so are many others as it was quite busy on this Saturday morning. I shared a lamb chop platter with a friend. We received our food quickly; the servers weren’t particularly friendly. The platter included a small salad and a choice of hummus or rice. The lamb was tender but not very flavorful. As well, my lunch partner and I both thought the hummus wasn't anything special. The pita bread didn’t taste fresh and was cold. Overall, I was disappointed but maybe it’s because my expectations were too high? So many had raved about Holy Land.

Maasha allah it's amezing and am so happy to see where can I eat halal food whith out fear alxamdulilah

Very nice place , delicious food and very nice staff
ashwin nash
Found this place out of random, the restaurant is clean, staff is very friendly, they have a grocery store attached too.
Hummus was great, bread was fresh and soft, side salad with our food was awesome. We had the chicken lovers combo and loved it. Plenty of food for 2 to share. It was quick and really fresh.
10/10 will return and is on my list of places to revisit.
Erika Bang
Marvelous food! They have platters that are huge for the price and everything is just bursting with flavor!
The grocery store is also phenomenal. They have an amazing assortment of olives and fresh cheeses. I prefer going here instead of the co-op grocery store to get certain items. And they have simply the most amazing hummus! My family and I have been going here since I was little and it's always such a treat. The parking can be pretty crazy though but that just adds to the experience.
erica o
friendly staff, amazing food!
Amer Muhammad
Great grocery store and restaurant, lots of options
Moiz Khan
Busy place but quick service. Friendly staff. We mostly order take out from here. Meat skewers are a hit or a miss. The dishes come with plenty of rice. Sometimes way too much rice for the amount of meat on the plate. Sometimes they are about right. Best deal is the whole chicken roast. Many different flavours and all are pretty good. There is plenty of seating space in the restaurant. You can also shop for groceries while here. Parking space had opened up a lot but still busy.
We have to ask the restaurant owners if all of their meat in the restaurant is zabihah halal or not on our next outing there. Will update the review when answer available.
Marina Gorzig
Holy Land catered our wedding and it was FANTASTIC! Lianne met with us to decide our menu, was super flexible on changes to guest count, and was amazing with our desire to have a low-waste event. The catering staff was super professional, were very responsive, and did a great job collecting waste for compost versus recycling. Our guests LOVED the food! It was delicious! Also, great flexibility for vegetarians, vegans, and gluten free guests! Couldn't recommend a caterer more strongly!!!

I went to the restaurant for the 1st time back in 2019 And I loved the food, especially the chicken so I went back last month and of course the food was great. One issue that we’ve had was the service, servers were so rude, ignored us and didn’t do anything for anyone, till a lady started her shift and her name was Amena( I hope I spelled her name right) she was so friendly and nice and she talked to everyone and made us feel welcomed. And I will drive the 6 hours again just to get the chicken and rice 👌👌

Great halal food, generous portions, reasonable prices and good dining service. You likely will not find better hummus anywhere else. Take your entire family out for a delicious treat. There are menu options and flavours for the not too spicy. Enjoy!

I went to the Holy Land grocery store. The clerks are super friendly and helpful! They gave great directions and helped me effectively narrow down what I needed.
One very small point of improvement: could the cumin be moved to the left side of the C group of spices? It was a little harder to find when not alphabetically arranged.
Mohamed Mohamed
The setting is nice. The prices are a bit expensive but the food is great. Also comes in a big portions. The gyros are HUGE. There is great choices of meats. And the staff friendly and diverse. Surprisingly the cheese burgers are great there too. If prices were a little realistic it would be perfect.

One of our most favorite places to go in the Twin Cities area. This place is known for their hummus. Costco carries their hummus as well.
I like their French Fries. I like almost every thing I tried from their menu. My personal favorite is Shawrma Wrap combo.
They have changed the layout several times. Latest layout is great. Kitchen is visible to the customers.
They used to offer buffet. In the buffet they used to have slow cooked roasted lamb (yummy yum yum). They don't have it any more. Because they don't offer buffet any more and because they have been increasing the price I have rated them 4 (even though quality wise they actually go 5). There's no option of 4.5. It's worth mentioning that Guy Fiery from food network visited this place and rated it pretty good.
Marie Porter
Great food! Huge portions, low prices.
Md Abid Hossain
Good service. I normally like middle eastern food. Compared to the similar type of restaurant I have visited in other states, the meat quantity was less and the test was not that good. May be this is because I had to take it home. I liked the tahini sauce.

I have been a fan of Holy Land Deli and Bakery since before it was even called that. Back in the mid-80s it was a little hole-in-the-wall place called Ali Baba's Bakery and was owned and operated by a man named Jihad, from East Jerusalem. A wonderful, wonderful man. He used to sharpen his knife between every shawarma sandwich. His cousin owned Abdul’s Afandy back when it was on about 25th and Nicollet., also a great place.
Today, Holy Land covers the better part of a block, so I went and bought a ton of wonderful foods, from pitted kalamata olives and two types of feta to falafil, garlicky hummus and foul mudammas. Other stuff too; it's my favorite grocery store in the city and the prices are really super low. I go there several times a year and encourage anyone able to to do the same.
But for the first time in years I bought a shawarma sandwich, now known as a gyro sandwich. As always, there was a ton of meat. But here's the thing, the meat had no flavor. Didn't taste like gyro meat at all. Super bland. Came without the tomato, cucumber and sprinkling of dried oregano that I remember from years past.
Now I'm still going to give a five-star review, because my hope is that today's sandwich was just an anomaly. Perhaps the supplier/suppliers that they have used for decades went out of business and this is all they can get at present.
Even still I encourage everyone to shop there. Often. How they can sell feta and kalamata at the extremely low prices they do just boggles my mind. Oh, and everyone who works there is super friendly. So yeah, five stars.

We stopped here on a multistate road trip and determined it to be our best dining experience overall. The best falafel I've ever tasted. Warm hospitality and elicious food! What else can you ask for? Go here. And buy their special olive oil in their market. Perfection!
Steve Ott
Impressive. I'd give 5 stars but I have been to this Holy Land location only once. There is another in Milwaukee that I frequently buy from and it is excellent.

Been coming here since I was a kid and it's only gotten better. One of the best Deli's you can get in MN
Joe Ostrander
One of my favorite spots in Minneapolis. Terrific middle eastern cuisine. Everything slaps v hard, from the rotisserie chicken, to the gyro, stuffed grape leaves and also the fries. Staff is friendly and welcoming and the price point is amazing, especially when you take into account the portion sizes. I wanna move in and eat a rotisserie chicken every day.
Valarie Griep
Such a great selection in the grocery side. I especially like the mejool dates, olives, feta cheeses and pita breads, really fresh and reasonably priced! The restaurant has a extensive menu of middle Eastern and a few American favorites. Portions are generous and everyone there was very helpful and friendly. My falafel salad was freshly made and tasty.

Update 3/16/22: holy Land does it again!! I ordered delivery for 26 boxed lunches.
When I ordered online, my billing address accidentally copied tomthe delivery address - which was different. They showed up at my house instead of my office. They got the correct address and promptly headed my way. The delivery driver was still very nice and helpful and I was so happy!! Thank you as always!! Orderedd catering today for 30 people. I wanted the individual boxes. Holy Land does it again! Amazing! Not only is this a great value, the delivery was on time, and the catering team went above and beyond. They called me to confirm my order the day of. Thank you. They separated the salads so they wouldn't get soggy while waiting for our lunch break. Thank you. Pita was individually wrapped.Triple THANK YOU!!! They sent all of the correct untensils and organized and labeld the delivery boxes. Thank you. I just can't say enough. Good things about Holy Land.

We went to Holy Land on a recommendation from someone who had seen it on Diners, Drive-Ins & Dives. Parking was simple in the dedicated lot. Went at approximately 8 and stayed until close (9:30). Greeted by an enthusiastic chef right away, and he walked us through the menu (as I had never had Middle Eastern food and the other person had only had a little). Ordering was quick and painless. Food came in 2 rounds. SO GOOD! Ate the Chef's Combo on recommendation from greeter. Serving size listed as 2-3 but could easily serve 4. Did not eat a bad or under cooked thing! Got a honey cake and mint tea included for desert.
AbdulGaffar Syed
Awesome food. Try the spicy Rotisserie chicken... it's magical, just melts in your mouth. My absolute favorite Mediterranean restaurant in the area. They have a very good middle eastern grocery store attached as well. Very good selection of halal meat/poultry and produce.
Amirah Bolivia
I went to Holyland today and haven't been there since the remodel, it is so nice in there! The kitchen is great, food is amazing. The staff are so kind and welcoming. They really are caring people. Thanks for all the accommodating and helpful staff! The spicy chicken is the best chicken I have ever had! Grocery is easy to access and find whatever you need. Great place! Will tell my friends!!!
Tirzah-Marie Lewis
The food is really, really good. It looks crowded but service is fast. Only complaint is the samosas are tiny!!! They are too delicious to be so small.
Sarah Croteau
YUM. Best falafel I have ever had, and the sauces and toppings complemented it well on the sandwich. The attached market had a great selection as well. I'll be back for more!
M W
Alydi's a great place for a meal. Love the diversity of the diners. We always take home leftovers as they have generous portions. Food comes quick. Don't forget to check out the grocery store. Great deal on olives
Josh BigMan
This is a great store with all kinds of spices and foods from around the word. The staff were very friendly and welcoming.
The food was so delicious, we had a beef gyro which wash fresh, large, and worth the money.
Danielle Ohnstad
The best hummus, the best pita, you can get injera here, cheese pie is something heavenly. Then to go to their actual food menu... awesome food. I always get the shawarma plate. It’s so good every time! Also, grocery. The best olive oil you can find. The flavor is off the charts.
Trooper Kristianson
Haven't found anything this good since i was last in the middle east
Luis Palma
They have the best wood rotisserie chicken, I never disappointed with the foot, it is always awesome, every time I come here I have friendly smiles and great service, if you like to enjoy Mediterranean food look no more, Holy Land is the place to go.
They also have an amazing grocery store where you can find fresh olives on variety of flavors, fresh vegetables and fruits, fresh feta cheese and meats.
My favorite place to go. 😍👌
Jessica Dalman Morlock
I can not say enough great things about this place. It's the only place in the cities I've been able to find true middle Eastern food out at a restaurant. I'm used to there being a middle Eastern restaurant on every block in the Detroit area. The kebab is amazing, the bread, oh the bread, is so good. The staff is wonderful.
Mando Monica
Great food, with a lot of tasty flavors and spices. I am always happy with the food here. Large portions and reasonable prices. A bit disappointing that many of the "to go" containers do not have recyclable symbols. They do a lot of to go orders here and it is terrible so much of that packaging goes into a landfill.
Eric Schreier
This place never disappoints. Only been a handful of times since I moved to the cities, but this is a place I try to go because I’m a lover for a great gyro. The staff is extremely friendly, and always makes sure you’re completely satisfied. Today they even gave me a free dessert, unbelievable. Thanks for the great service as always!!
Edgar Alfonzo
Awesome Food & Great Service!!
Elizabeth Smith
First time at Holy Land. Food was excellent. I ordered a chicken gyro and what I got was geeat. I expected grilled chicken with blackened edges. I got chunks of curry chicken. The curry was good but maybe offer a grilled chicken option too? Staff was very friendly!
Slavic Dmytruk
As one would expect the place was packed on the Saturday evening yet enjoyed the dinner immensely! Kabobs very flavorful, hummus was smooth and delicious and the conversation with the owner was fantastic. Got a dessert on the house:)
PS Grocery store has a substantial inventory of middle Eastern and African produce.
Would absolutely recommend!
Hali Schatz
This place is amazing. The food at the restaurant is awesome authentic middle eastern food with enough of a freestyle American flare to make everyone feel at home. The market is amazing their butcher is without parallel. I stop here regularly for quality lamb and feta.
Yusra Farhat Ullah
Middle Eastern food haven, rotisserie chicken is super yum, gyro is top quality, hummus is authentic. Great variety of authentic middle eastern cheeses, olives, pickled vegetables, sweets, meats and spices. We also got catering from them, and they gave us serving tongs and everything, everyone loved the food.
Jeff J
Love this place. Great grocery store - the bread selection is solid. The little cafe has some great inexpensive but delicious options as well.
Shawn Keaton
Absolutely love this place great fresh food great fresh produce in meat customer service is wonderful don't forget the olive bar
Rebecca Goldsberry (Becky)
First time I came here and now I am sad that I have been missing out for years!!! The food was delicious and huge portions. Great service, friendly staff. Nice grocery store that's attached to the restaurant. I will definitely be back, but perhaps next time I'll share the entree.
Chris Pomeleo
Fantastic fresh made food.
Fantastic grocery department.
Great asset to our community that welcomes everyone with welcome arms and great employees.
Little known secrets:
1. I can pop in during my hour long lunch and get an incredibly healthy and filling meal for under $12.
2. Their butcher dept in the grocery side has some of the best prices I’ve seen on beautiful fresh steaks in Minneapolis.
Go.
Here.
Brittany Wirtz
Hands down the best middle eastern food I've ever had!!!
Hadir A. Shakshouk
Best middle Eastern restaurant in Minnesota. Food is of high quality and serving is really big.
For the market, it's great as well. You can find lots of stuff not in usual grocery stores. Halal meat, middle Eastern deserts and spices.
Qais Zazai
So nice amazing food. The owner and the owner family are so respectful and friendly.
Chris
Great. Went there 4x during a two week stretch. Menu is deep. Service is not bad, but counter service only. No booze, therefore 4 stars is the max. The value-for-money is great, the flavours of the food is great, the portions are healthy. If you want to buy lamb testicles, you can't get it at the restaurant - maybe check the attached grocery store? Featured on diners, drive ins, and dives, quite justifiably.
Maadh Al Rashdi
Nice Halal restaurant & market in the area!
Everything you need from Middle East you gonna find it here.
Kris Khal
Love this place. They also had excellent vegetarian options for my daughter.
Barb Thompson
When you get a Large sandwich, they mean large! Enough to take home for another meal. So sorry to see they no longer have the mid day buffet, as it gave us an opportunity to try lots of delicious and interesting new foods. Have been coming here since the restaurant and market were in only one section of the huge business they are now. We still love the wonderful food and great service.
Tiffany Storm
I am so pleased with this restaurant the hospitality is amazing the food is so amazing
It feels like someone's mother is back there cooking my food I simply love it here if I ever come back to Minnesota I would definitely be coming back to this restaurant the manager Abraham is so amazing & accommodating .
The whole staff is really nice & I really appreciated them with all my heart ❤.
with these tough times that we have going on especially in Minnesota I am so pleased with this restaurant the hospitality is amazing Thank you Storm 😊 from Atlanta my Ig @next_set_hoenay
Ahmed Taher
One of my favorite restaurants and grocery. Their deli, especially grilled chicken is way over priced, it is really good, but its 2.5 times the price of chicken elsewhere. Still very good place and I always go there.
Adrian Lundeen-Hornung
I've been here just a few times but always satisfied. The portions are quite large. Last weekend, I had the schwarma combo and made three meals out of it. Plus it came with a small salad and two pitas. It was Dine Out for Somalia night and even at 8:30, just before closing time, the place was packed. The staff were great, though. They offered free, bite-sized desserts to keep everyone placated while they waited for their meals.
Brad Knutson
Awesome food at the deli. Great middle eastern food. This place makes authentic food for a fair price. One suggestion would be to order ahead, even if you plan on dining in. If you order when you arrive it will take a while for your food to be prepared, but it's worth the wait. The portion sizes are enormous.
Matt Bork
Great hi-quality lamb and meats. Butchers onsite will take orders while you wait. Best pitas in town. Great middle eastern style yogurt. No specific cultural ties to Middle East and still consider it my favorite specialty grocery store. The restaurant is top shelf too as well as reasonably priced!
beth graff
Authentic Delicious Food. Wonderful offerings of fresh halal meats, fresh fruit and veggies and a plethora of authentic Middle Eastern spices. Amazing deli section, fresh baked goods. Excellent prices.
The restaurant itself is unparalleled. Order whole chickens to go online!
Dress modest, headscarves encouraged for women and so appreciated by staff that it will
net you specialties like an extra honey cake with pistachios or an additional Greek salad with your to go order.
Chol Pael
They have everything I was looking for it's excellent 👌
Teresa Myers
I had dinner with a friend and we ordered the Chef's choice platter. We got to try a little bit of everything with a little something to take home. Everything was delicious!
Roosevelt Lake
Lot of food for your money, authentic food.
Thor Hang
Great place for Mediterranean style cuisine. Eatery, grocery, bakery treats all-in-one.
Not my cup of tea. I didn't enjoy it, but that doesn't mean it's not a quality establishment. I go with friends from time to time.
My favorite treat is the pistachio-flavored Turkish delight.
Debbie Abu-Sharkh
The food was wonderful. Every thing tasted terrific along with large portions, great price for the serving size. Everyone there was very friendly and helpful making you feel welcome.i will definitely go again.
Otoki Sicily
Ordered takeout online, super impressed with the quantity and quality. Ended up feeling the shareable meat platter, roasted veggie dinner, and grape leaves. Fed 6 adults and still had leftovers.
Coral Dirks
Huge selection of Middle Eastern groceries and consistently good food at the restaurant attached. Guy Fieri visited here a couple years ago so you know it has to be good! Open 365 days a year. Holy Land Hummus is the best hummus I've ever tasted. The figs they sell are second-to-none as well!
Suzanne Durkacs
Fresh pita! There’s a dedicated deli for olives, feta, and more marinated veggies. Grab a shopping basket and fill it up with hummus-choose from many varieties like garlicy, red pepper, or guacamole. Holy Land sells pita chips too, so good with the hummus! Everything you need to make a fresh tasty meal is here, including a halal butcher and produce section. Pick up some baklava or my favorite, homemade Honey Cake! No time for cooking your own dinner? Just step over to the restaurant and eat in or take out. Holy Land’s menu has something for everyone.
Hawk Eyes
Best halal grocery store in Minneapolis. The quality of meat is so good its always very fresh. I always have a great experience there.
Andrew Meggs
Holy Land is some of the best Middle Eastern food in the cities. Their hummus is downright criminal how good it is! Their falafel is always fresh too, would definitely recommend.
Daniel Isaac
I loved this place! The food was great and the grocery looked well stocked too. Loved the falafel sale and the shawarma had a good blend of spices too.
Losing a star because of the horrendous parking situation, even during non - rush hours.
ሐassen ሠaid
This place has the best Mediterranean food ever. My daughter ordered a gyro-mix( chicken and lamb) with French fries and a drink, it was amazing!
Lise Hanley
Grocery store: 5 stars. Restaurant: 3 stars.
I grocery shop here often. The food they offer is fresh and is decently priced. Growing up with Holy Land when it was just a smaller restaurant compared to it now is why I only would give the restaurant side three stars - the portions and quality have gone down while the pricing has gone up, up, and up. It's not worth it. Now I just buy the ingredients on the grocery side and make it all at home. I know it's not as convenient, but it's definitely not worth the money to get it on the restaurant side.
Rashida Talat
My all time favorite Restaurant. Everything they have is delicious and always consistent. I have also referred this place in my work place to get the office meals (we have buffet that comes from various restaurants every Wednesdayand fridays in the office). I'd definitely recommend this restaurant.
Elise Wormuth
Best babaganoush I've ever had -- so smoky! Great appetizer plate -- many tasty things. Even though I live in South Metro, I'll be back!
Fedlu Awol
A must visit open kitchen concept restaurant in town. Along with their grocery business, they are northeast minneapolis pride. The meats come from all naturally raised animals and all their food is super delicious. Got big family or group, get the chef's choice.
Luis Beltran
When we moved out to the suburbs a few years ago this is one of my favorite neighborhood places I miss the most. We use to go every weekend for groceries. They have some of the cleanest and tastyest lamb. Were in the neighborhood again recently and stopped by to get some goodies, including some African breads.
M Fibonacci
Seems restaurant food portions and food quality has gone down. Sad because years ago it was really good quality and large portions. Store is expensive more now too. But some store items are hard to find at other stores and I do love some items. Black dates from Iran and olive selection and green coffee beans are great
Matthew Frazier
Always outstanding food. Best option outside of downtown.
Nuey S
Very slow service. 40 minutes of waiting for my food. Everyone else who arrived 20 minutes after me had their food ready within 10 min. Talked to the manager and all he said was that it is really busy. Thanks, but no thanks really. He did bring out my plate after 5-10 min along with some dessert and juice however he failed to miss the sauces I requested. I may give this location another try when they are NOT busy. I will say that the location in midtown global market is so much more professional. Head there if you want consistent service and food! :)
Jason Hackett
The restaurant does not disappoint! And their grocery store is always stocked with food more difficult to find at the chain grocery stores.
W Brown
Got take out. Good food. Would have enjoyed it a lot more if I had been given the sauce I asked for. Check you stuff before you leave.
Will Boelts
Their restaurant, grocery, and catering services make Holy Land one of my very favorite places. The food is out of this world, their grocery selection keeps growing, and their prices are very fair. Staff will answer any questions you have and are very accommodating. Catering with them was a great experience and I could not recommend them more. 5 stars is not enough for how much I value Holy Land.
Will Matthews
What a great find for foodies who love Middle-Eastern foods! Plenty of great products to be found, with a little something for everyone. Place was very clean, well stocked, priced right, and they kept the busy traffic moving! Great Job!
jl hatlen linnell
This is my neighborhood deli, a diner with fabulous Palestinian-inspired middle eastern food... And shelves upon shelves of quality west Asian and north African staples. Staff is always glad to help, and there's major parts of my diet I just can't find anywhere else at this level of quality.
Jon Mes
Great Middle Eastern food selection; varieties of hummus, fresh veggies, and quality, bulk olive oil for low prices! Found a cold-pressed, virgin olive oil from Palestine. Great buy
Amadi Mkomo
Great place to shop. Positive atmosphere, welcoming employees, as well as great food. My experience with holy has been wonderful. If you happen to find yourself around the area around the northeast region, give yourself the pleasure of stopping by.
SHAKIL MARUF
My favorite Middle Eastern grocery store and restaurant in the Twin Cities. Have been going there for almost 27 years. You will find almost everything required to prepare Middle Eastern/Mediterranean food along with delicious restaurant menu items. For Muslims a great place to eat and shop Halal products as well as do your prayers upstairs. They added a dedicated wudu stall in the restroom. The owners are also very involved in the community and contribute generously to myriad of charities.
mumina mumina
Best food and good team.MashaAllah!!!
Salem Mahmoud
I've been going to Holy Land since before I could walk, and now that it's in my neighborhood, I go pretty regularly - at least once or twice a month. I have to say, I never cease to be amazed by it.
Every time, there's something new, the service is welcoming and the food is of the highest quality.
While they may no longer be the "underdogs," I'll be in these guys' corner for a long, long time.
Protip: The gyro is phenomenal, but the chicken gyro is the best item on the menu, and the platter is basically half price at lunch.
Jessica S
I like the grocery selection and prices are reasonable. However, the past 3 times we were in the shop, we were charged incorrect prices for items (more than the price listed on the shelf). Each time we brought it to managements attention they interrogated us in an accusatory manner. Once it was clear that it was store error, they sent us to the back of a long line to get our refund. Bottom line - the management and service could use major improvements.
samir FW
This place is great! You can find anything you need that is Middle eastern. Fresh vegetables, fruits, nuts, chocolate, cheese, olives.....and halal meat. The deli section serves very tasty meals and sandwiches. It gets very busy, but it sure is worth the wait.
PKS Xingo
The whole roast chicken was 20/10 stars for me. Tender n so full of spices and flavor!
S H
Nice and clean market in muslin style. I like the products there.and great food. Easy to find a parking spot and free. The service there is warm and friendly. The meat is fresh and clean as well. I recommend this place to all my friends.
Glenn Visger
Food is fantastic. The food is always great. I'm so glad that I work a little closer, that way I can pick up some awesome food for dinner more regularly.
Joe de la Cova
Another of the Twin Cities' blessings. Here is groceries, breads, deli, butcher for all of us who love food and culture. A destination for we who seek those special things. Labnah, flat breads, pomegranate sauce, bulk spices....etc. The restaurant is also outstanding. Reliable efficient generous economical. Super casual and family oriented. Community atmosphere.
Justin Time
Been coming here for years. They have Middle Eastern items you won't find elsewhere. The food at the restaurant is great. The shawarma is probably the best in MN. Highly recommended.
Barbara Bakal
Interesting place. Bought food both in the grocery store and the restaurant. Food isn't the highest quality or the most tasty, but it's an adventure shopping there.
Javier Alonso
A must place to visit if you are interested in middle eastern food and products. You will find lots of different typical ingredients too. The honey cake is delicious, and the baklava and Turkish delights are also really good. They also serve food, including kebab.
Aaron Langworthy
The best rotisserie chicken you will ever have is at this place (original seasoning). Grocery store had unique items at good prices. I was surprised to see similar items like basmati rice cheaper than big box stores. The honey cake is good with just the right amount of sweetness. I wasn't impressed with the shawarma though.
Peter Goldberg
Ordered the vegetarian combination/special for 2, and was amazed by the quantity of food for under $30. The hummus and baba ganoush were delightful, but the sauteed vegetables were actually one of the stars. Also comes with dessert, making it a full meal. I will definitely be coming back.
Augster O
Holy land has some really good gyros and a WIDE variety of other foods. When I eat here for lunch I get the "manager's special" which is like a DIY gyro plate. It's a lot of food.
The prices have gone way up since the remodel, so we don't eat there nearly as often. When my kids were younger we ate there all the time as they had a "kids gyro and fries" for $5.99, I think, and it was plenty. That is now gone replaced by burgers, hot dogs, and chicken fingers on the kids menu.
Not exactly the fare we are there for.
So now if my kids want a gyro, we have to go somewhere else. If 4 people are eating gyros, even for lunch, you'll top $50 and then some. It's too bad.
I'll definitely eat here again, as the manager's special is/was about $10 and was a lot of food. And the food is really good.
Teddy Johnson
Pros: Beautiful market and restaurant. Clean. Friendly staff. I can't ask for more from an establishment! The food was delicious, we received it timely during the lunch rush.
Cons: No clear entrance or exits in the building make it frustrating to find parking
Ordered: chicken shawarma, lamb gyro, fries
Jimmy R.
Every time I come back to MN, Holy Land is at the top of my list of places to visit. Their food has always been great (their lamb is tender and delicious), and the grocery section keeps getting better every time I visit. Never been disappointed.
matt d
If you're hesitant about trying middle eastern food, or if you are a seasoned veteran in the cuisine, this place is probably one of the best, if not the best place to grab a halal meal. Large inviting dining area, prompt and friendly service, and a large assortment of different Mediterranean and middle eastern eats. They are almost always busy, but combined with the efficiency of the cook staff you can be assured to get a hot fresh meal quickly. Guy Fieri even ate there so you know it's good.
Tom Lutes
The food here is incredible! I can only guess at what kind of experience the cook staff bring to the food, but it is all so wonderful. My wife and I will usually get hummus, schwarma, and usually some fries, too (yes, they are that much better here). And falafel! Additionally, there is a market attached, if you want to try your hand at any of the cultural recipes.
Nida Usman
Most delicious halal food in Minnesota. It’s always busy but the staff is always friendly and the service is prompt. Has a good grocery store with halal meat that you can ask to get made fresh as well
Jaaie White
I visited this place when I was on a fishing trip with one of my best friends. I have been all over the Middle East. This place is as good as any one of those restaurants that I visited while in the Middle East. The food was absolutely out of this world amazing. If you are ever in the Twin Cities st. Paul's area please make it a point to stop at this place
Keyvan Eslami
This is one of our favorites in Minneapolis: you can find some of the staple dishes of middle eastern cuisine here, and they are, for the most part, very close to the ones that are served in middle east itself.
Food is excellent, staff are very friendly, and service is really good. There is a grocery store and a butcher shop beside the restaurant, where you can find exotic middle eastern ingredients, in case you decide to give some of the dishes a try at home.
At a time when religious hatred and sectarian divisions are soaring around us, this place gives hope, and reminds one that we have way more in common than what keeps us apart!
Rain Bonjour
The grocery store has a fairly good selection, but I was surprised by them not carrying a few things that I had to go elsewhere in search of. The food is pretty good, but if you're seeking lots of flavor, you may be slightly disappointed. They weren't very spicy.
Jeff Chen
We went during lunch. The food was good, but they don't give you lunch prices unless you eat in at the restaurant. During covid I feel that you should allow the customer to have takeout at lunch prices. Also, no plastic ware for takeout.
David Noble
Holy Land is one of my favorite places to shop (and dine!) in the Twin Cities. Best values and selection anywhere for olive oils, rice, baked items, OLIVES, spices and ingredients for Middle Eastern foods. Highly recommended!
Jennifer Yiangou
Best spread of mediterranean food in Mpls! We stop once a month for lunch & groceries. The kids love it too! Fresh imgredients & generous portions!
hawra alnabi
Delicious Food! They have a lot of variety and they have definitely improved within the last two years.
The grocery is a bit on the pricey side. I try not to shop there because there are other grocery stores that sell most of the items cheaper.
Howard Wong
Great food, casual environment
Kacee Berthold
I highly recommend this place. I've been meaning to visit for awhile and now I feel like I've been missing out! If you like chicken, get the rotisserie chicken meal! The chicken is so tender and very flavorful! I will be coming back and bringing all my friends and family!
Adam Buchanan
I attended an Iftar dinner for the first time here during Ramadan. It was my first time having Middle Eastern food. I liked that I got to try a bunch of different types of food, and I didn't feel it was typical buffet fare. Much higher quality. I'll likely be back in the future. The only thing I didn't really care for was the atmosphere, which was very open (and a little loud) and felt less sit down restaurant and more casual (which I think is what they're going for, but it didn't work for me).
Zahir Abbas
Awesome place for family and friends to have lunch or dinner. I often go with my wife. I like the falafel, it's so crunchy and delicious. Arabian shwarma is really yummy. Also this place has sizable customer parking. Grocery store is also attached. I tried Mediterranean style spicy olive, trust me that was really good. Also lot of candies and Turkish delights from middle East region.
Ali Siddiqui
Been going since I was a little kid.
Food isnt as good as it was about 15-20 years ago, but still very good. Gyro sandwich is amazing, along with the rotisserie and bbq chicken.
Very nice grocery store too.
Mandhara Madow
Your go-to place for halal meat and Mediterranean food. However, there are a few employees here that are too prideful to serve you in time and will have you waiting. It's called poor customer service.
Aden Abdi
Service was impeccable, great people working. Didn’t have to wait long for our food. One of the cleanest establishments I’ve ever been to if not the cleanest.
The food was better than most restaurant in the area. Real traditional mediterranean food and American food with multiple choices to choose from.

I stop here if I'm in the area to pick up some baklava and among other things. I haven't eaten at the restaurant side of the business but the grocery store is a great place to get ingredients for any middle eastern dishes. Staff are friendly and the prices are reasonable.

My choice of food was very good and quite plentiful. The restaurant was well organized and the staff made themselves available for any questions and to serve us in detail. It was run like a well-oiled machine. There is a market which is well stocked. All employees were very nice.

We were driving through Minneapolis and found holy land on the way. Decided to stop by and get a bite. The Place was amazing, it had a great vibe and the food was delicious. Would Definitely recommend this to a person a tourist or local.

We stopped here on our way through Minneapolis. From the street, this woman greeted us with the kindest eyes (she was masked). She made us feel very welcome. We had hummus, babaganeush (sp?), lamb and beef shwarma and gyro plate. Everything was delicious especially the shwarma!! My kids devoured it!! They brought complimentary salads, this little Sweet bread and Hot tea. I would highly recommend!!

The best place in Minnesota for hummus and flat bread. We drive thirty min just to get it from the source though every cub foods carries half the equation now. The only complaint I have ever had with the establishment is its location. The entire area is being gentrified, so that won't last much longer but it's the only negative I could think of. The staff is always really friendly and often find little snacks to give to my kids like candy bars which of coursethe kids love. They carry tons of hard to find ethnic foods from the middle east and Greece and they have a halal butcher shop in house. The place honestly has a feel that I haven't found elsewhere in other niche grocery stores.

The buffet is good. Just be careful when you buy meat in there. If you decide to pick up some beef or lamb from the butcher in the back make sure to check the bag before leaving the place or you'll wind up carrying home a bag of fat and bones.

I love and always return for the gyros. I buy it per lb and garnish it myself with french feta from the market and hummus. I do miss the old tabouli since quinoa is a nasty thing.

Always enjoy coming here to find hard to source spices and ingredients to make some of my family's recipes. I always have end up picking up wonderfully fresh made bread and hummus even if I only am there to pick up bull spices or something else. Also, one of the few places I can find fresh injera. If you do stop by, they do have a great selection of prepared food at their restaurant with a large selection of Middle Eastern fare. I would recommend this place to anyone in the area to stop in for a quick bite, or to walk through the store and find some treats.

Holy Land is the best!! There food is always fresh and good. I usually get the gyro platter with rice and bread. Everytime I get food there I'm never disappointed. Thanks Holy Land for serving up delicious authentic food.

No experience with the grocery store side of Holy Land but the Restaurant was EXCELLENT. Went for the first time today because a friend's recommendation. We loved it and were especially suprised that it was so good considering the price. Service was nothing short of perfect. Don't eat out much but we'll be back for more!

Impressed with the size of falafel sandwich. It was also yummy. However, the bread wasn't warm. It also has grocery section in which you can find middle eastern foods and produces (i.e., green plum and quince). I would definitely recommend this place.

Best chicken I've ever had hands down and the hospitality went beyond. I'm so happy I found this place. I'll be back to try every flavor of chicken :)

My go-to for a great gyro salad. Always tasty and filling. Comes with 4 wonderful flat bread so I make my own gyros. They came by to see if I was happy and gave me free dessert. You come - your tummy will be happy!

Holy Land at 2513 Central Ave NE, Minneapolis, MN 55418 is a good place for grocery and Middle Eastern Food. Bit crowded and quality of service is just okay. However food quality is bit better. You can find Grill, Gyros and kebab etc. Prices are also okay. Parking could be an issue as they have limited parking and it is crowded during lunch and dinner hours. Over all it is a good place to visit for food or grocery.

Best with many options specially if you are looking for foods from middle east region. I usually visit this place for fresh lamb!! Trust me they are good, unlike I have ever experienced before...
Numerous variety of breads available as well.

We always buy our halal meat from and other for such as spice mixes and pita bread. They also have a restaurant attached with delicious food. The rotisserie chicken is amazing.

The entrees may seem expensive but you get enough for 2 or 3 meals. The meat is flavorful, and the rice and bread is soft and warm. There's even a grocery store inside so you can attempt to make food as good as them.

Really really awesome food. Simple menu though it looks big but we get pretty much same quality and taste for all different varities.
It was so good to see the food they make. Its really feels fresh.

Always stop in when I'm in town 30 years ago when it opened in a small area in the same place with all the rice bags stacked as you came in the back door. Always welcoming and great food. Sorry to hear about the founder passing away. last year but the son's are doing a super job.

First time ordering here. I must say, I was surprised! The restaurant was very clean and the food is delicious with a decent helping of food. I had a gyro. Awesome, I will definitely be back jack lol.

The food was good, I was expecting more flavor (in my country Arabic food is tastier) the Persian combo platter I ordered had like 1 pound of rice, enough leftovers for a couple days, I would have liked a little more meat

I've been a patron of Holy Land for near 2 decades. It used to be a hole in the wall, with great food and groceries. They have transformed the community around them as they've grown.
Not only is their food great, the groceries affordable, their Hummus and Pita bread is always fresh (coz they make it all). If you want a twist on a Rotisserie Chicken, have theirs. All of the food is amazing, my kids love their Lianne Sauce. The Gyro or Shawarma is what works for me.
This is a great place for a family meal or just hanging with your friends. Everyone is happy to help, ok the olive counter needs more attentive folks, but that maybe by design. As you wait for the olive counter, you look at other things to try.
I don't think I have ever left Holy Land unsatisfied.

Large portions, reasonably priced. Well flavored and authentic middleastern food. Always on my radar when I go to Minneapolis. Only complaint is that the Menu may be too large.
