Reviews of Half Fancy

Amazing brunch! At first I thought their menu was limited, but I chose the wild rice pancakes and yogurt with granola. It was amazing. Very flavorful and unique. Best pancake I’ve had at a restaurant.
Coffee and cocktail were also great.

Having no idea the Mill had undergone a transformation of sorts, I made a stop in last night with a friend. While still being under the same ownership (I believe), it's not the same spot it had been during my last visit a distant six years ago. The Mill is now Half Fancy, with a lovely bar menu, evening menu, and the classic brunch items locals had grown to love and adore.
I enjoyed a basket of cheese curds and a rum milk punch (milk clarified drinks are SO hot right now!!!) over conversation, and had a lovely bartender who was attentive and enthusiastic. Cannot state how unexpectedly lovely my time was at Half Fancy. It's no longer bizarrely dark as the Mill had been, the atmosphere has definitely improved, and I am most definitely going back soon to try more of their menu.
If you're vegetarian, I saw someone enjoying a veggie burger and it looks like they're making a damn fine veggie burger!!!

Everything was perfect! Service was a little slow but they seemed understaffed so I understood the situation. The food was perfect, I had the Bacon Jam Burger with some adjustments, the bun was toasted perfectly and the fries were delicious, the food was amazing. I will definitely be coming back for more!

A classic spot that never disappoints. Great staff, food, and drinks. Been a few times for brunch and dinner and have really liked everything I’ve tried.

We came for breakfast. The biscones are awesome! And the honey butter they come with is pretty tasty too. I enjoyed my eggs benedict, and my boyfriend had the Ecuadorian baked eggs with the pork. Really good, definitely add on the pork! Friendly service with a bit on the high side prices.
Ryan Meyer
The wild rice pancakes steal the show! The other dishes were excellent as well. Our server was charming, warm, and a bit quirky. Exactly what you need for the late night diner vibe.

Small selection of delicious breakfasts - known for their Ecuadorian baked eggs.
Unusual soups, eclectic decor, friendly staff.
Rich Gall
Fantastic experience. Sarah was an attentive waitress managing the flow at a clearly popular spot. I had never been there before and asked what they are known for. Among her recommendations was their Reuben. They make their own bread, their own sauerkraut, their own corned beef and their own dressing for and it showed. This was the best Reuben sandwich I have ever had. The guy next to me ordered one based on my recommendation. You should, too.

Went for dinner on a Saturday at 5pm. Got seated right away. Server was prompt. Ordered the fried pickles for an app, 8-piece chicken wings (dry rub), and split a dessert of butterscotch cheese cake. Also ordered an Aviation cocktail. The food was great, as was the cocktail. Only knock I can give is that after we had put our orders in, the waiter disappeared until the food came. No water refills in between. Other than that it's a great place with good food and drinks.

Quirky n cool friendly laid back vibe. Sunday brunch was fantastic. Everyone in our party loved their meal. "Dirty Curds" the best curds I've had - melt-n-your-mouth spicy sweet goodness. Staff was also so quirky n cool, super friendly. I'd say more than a little half-fancy. Thanks for a great lunch!

We first visited a few years ago when it was the Mill, and it has only gotten better! Half Fancy is now a regular choice for weekend brunch or to make sure a friend from out of town gets some good food. The employees here are all very friendly and chill.
Recommendation - Get the Dirty Cheese Curds!
alysha bellamy
The food was decent good flavors. Ribs were tuff. Egg dish was confusing. “Baked eggs” then you can get your eggs anyway you like. customer service was decent as well.
Wild rice pancakes were amazing

The food was very good. The staff was very attentive given the busy time of day and the warm temperature outside. Pictured are a Whiskey sour , Cubano sandwich, and a fried chicken sandwich.

Got the Ecuadorian baked eggs. They were pretty good and the waitress was nice. 🙂 …
Jordan Fox
The atmosphere was cool and the cocktails/drink list was appealing. The food was very subpar. The burger was so bland and dry, the Mac and cheese was lacking. The fries with the seasoning was the only worth while food. The service was also inconsistent, we got our food fast but no refills of water or anything before the bill came. I’d say pass, there’s more places in NE.
Mike McCollum
Friendly staff, really good food, and great cocktails!

We were recommended this place for breakfast and boy were we not disappointed! Our server was very chill and friendly, and offered great tourist venue suggestions to us. Their cold poor coffee was very tasty (i normally need creamer) and my boyfriend and i both got the ecuadorian baked eggs. They were so good! We were hoping to get a slice of the russian cake but it was still being made, but oh well another time.

Great service, great place. Food seems to be either going downhill, or I just had two less-than-great food experiences back-to-back. Used to LOVE the chevre potatoes, both times I've gone recently they were somewhat cold, almost stale in texture, like they've been sitting out. My whole family ended up with most of the potatoes left uneaten when we were done with our plates.
Julia Ploof
This place has been a neighborhood staple for a while. I've been there for brunch a number of times and wasn't terribly impressed. Sometimes the service outside is super slow. However, they have some amazing daily specials on drinks and food. Their late night selection is unique and the bartenders and servers have always been super friendly. It's a great place to go for a night cap and a snack.

I visited Half Fancy with friends on Sunday afternoon, December 18th, 2022. It was my first visit but not my last!
It is a nice, relaxed and casual-atmosphere cafe with very kind and friendly employees.
One of my friends ordered a Reuben Sandwich that was a very, very generous portion. The other friend ordered Biscones and Gravy. As the very nice waitress placed their respective entrees in front of each friend, I regretted not ordering one of those dishes. However, I ordered a salad with smoked tofu, turkey and spinach (as part of a soup and salad special) and I was not disappointed! It was delicious! When the waitress asked if there was anything else that we needed, I asked about the soup I had ordered? I was not complaining that the soup had not yet arrived, but simply asking because she was trying to ensure we had everything? She felt so badly about not remembering the soup but I understood that her hands were full with three large plates. To me it was just fine. Anyway she quickly brought the soup and was very apologetic. The reason I bring up an extremely minor incident is to emphasize how the waitresses are so focused on providing good service. And they are very, very good!
By the way, my order of Butternut Squash Bisque with a Balsamic Glaze Reduction, a scoop of Goat Cheese and crackers was heavenly! It was the perfect order for a frigid Sunday afternoon. And they gave it to me for 'no-charge' simply because I reminded them that I did not get the soup part of my 'Soup And Salad' order at the same time as the salad!! Amazing and outstanding service!
I eagerly look forward to my next visit!
Thank you everyone at Half Fancy and thanks to my friends for suggesting the visit!
Live your best life everyone!

This isn't the place to have the best steak of your life, but if you want a good vibes atmosphere, with great service, some excellent libations and dessert options, at a reasonable price then this is your place! To top it off parking is free in their lot. Enjoy! 😃💐

Frequent diner at Half Fancy. Best veggie burger in town...made in house and available to buy frozen! Have had some excellent meals (brunch is consistently fabulous) , and some pretty good meals....so can be inconsistent in quality. But more often great than not. Biscones and gravy are killer, as is the cocktail menu. Neighborhood gem status.

3.5 if I could. Half fancy is well suited. Don't be fooled, if you know you know. Same restaurant. Same service. The difference?
The food we ordered today was better because it was served hot. Food quality was never an issue, staff handling volume is.
The kids menu pancakes were more like mini donuts in taste, AMAZING to me, I love mini donuts.
The burger had great flavor. Just a little on the salt heavy side.
The Rueban was so rich I could only eat it I'd I took a drink of water after. I stopped early and opted to use the rest for hash in the morning.
Everything is made fresh, I think they are very aware of the negative effects sugar can hold, leading a severe under utilization.
Agave, honey, some of the maple syrup. Anything to cut the unreasonable amount of savroy in the rueban and mixed green salad. I was able to save the salad with a little salt, but I would have preferred to add more dimension to the dressing and sweet would have better balanced the flavor.
New name. Unsure if they fixed the volume issue, there were not many dining when we ate. Maybe 25% full. Similar to "painting a pig" but not all bad. My biggest complaint is that I walked around the entire restaurant, stood in place momentarily, with every single member of staff in the kitchen but looking my way, and I ended up having to grab my own straw from the bar because no one bothered to say what's up. Or even comment once they saw what I did.
Could be worse, but such a silly miss. In addition to coasters. Why ruin your tables when you can get coasters for free? Don't miss the little stuff cause you are too caught up in the integrity of your food. It all matters, and you already don't have parking sufficient for each guest. Can't take any additional hits.
Heidi Leaf
The staff was fun and sweet as soon as we walked in the door. Even mentioned it to the server (she had a walking boot on), she said thanks and that the staff all really enjoy each other. Really shows!

We missed it when we first drove by but are so glad we stopped and waited in line. Got there a little before 11:00 on Sunday morning and the 4 of us had to wait about 15 minutes for a table. The decor is great, the tap beer selection was better than expected, the menu options all looked delicious and the food quality on all of our orders warranted 5 Stars.
Although the service was very friendly, what held me back from a 5* rating was how slow the service was. It took almost an hour to get our food, some of which was consumed waiting to even place our orders after we were seated. It seemed that the wait staff was stretched way too thin (maybe some didn't show up for work today?). Regardless, if you have plenty of time to kill after Church on Sunday morning, you will love the menu selection and food quality here.
The pictures:
Truffle Fries - Tasty!
Root Vegetable Hash - great seasoning, highly recommended!
Ecuadorian Baked Eggs - good, but bland for my tastes.
Butternut Squash Bisque - creamy and delicious, definitely worth trying!
Wild Rice Pancake - texture was so light and fine and the accompanying fruit and syrup made it a great shared dessert after our brunch!

Updated 2/5: Still love this place... Had the biscuits and gravy... Again. If you get a chance get 1/2 sausage gravy, 1/2 mushroom gravy for the biscuits and gravy. Covid protocols are being followed there appeared to be sufficient space between us and everyone else, and everyone working was wearing masks.

This place is a bit special for a number of reasons but they also have some of the friendliest and most helpful staff on hand, it would be a shame to call them waiters or waitresses! On this latest occasion, we sat at the bar and received dinner and a show! Caleb was fantastic and certainly demonstrated his mastery of the bartending arts! He took the time to share the secrets of his drinks and could even explain the chemistry behind it! Wow! For dinner we had the Cuban and Rubin, amazing! Truffle fries were great and had a couple news beers to boot! Great place, fantastic staff, and awesome food!!!

Cute diner and bar. Great food for vegetarian and meat lovers. Tasteful squash soup. Abundance of craft beer for any connoisseur. My new favorite place in the twin cities.
North Star Mini Storage
I was so impressed by how delicious everything was here! The corn chowder was exceptional. I had the Root vegetable hash with egg and my friend had the veggie burger with truffle fries. It was the suggestion of our server, a sweet soul named Sara. I brought back a cup of the chowder for my mom and she said that was the best she'd ever had. We also got some of the frozen veggie burgers to go. They are that good. We will be back!
Divah Yap
The restaurant is very nice. It took a while for us to get parking space since the place is full. We went for Sunday brunch. We got biscones & gravy, daily quiche, butternut squash bisque, and croque madam muffin. Everyone is very satisfied with their order. There’s something special about these dishes. Everything is tasty and the dishes are well-thought-out. The roasted chevre potatoes is a delicious side meal. Their coffee is strong and good. Their staff are friendly. This is a fantastic place for brunch!
Danny Hanson
Biscones and gravy is my favorite breakfast in town!
Melissa M
Awesome food. Staff are casual and friendly. It can get a bit loud if you come during a rush, but they turn over tables quickly so I promise it's worth the wait.
Jeff Lacy
Staff: Wonderful! Extremely friendly and helpful.
Patio: Excellent! Lovely shaded areas and the tables are nicely spaced out.
Coffee: Good and includes refills.
Food: Brunch was good. The potatoes seem to come with goat cheese mixed in, which is probably great if you like goat cheese. If this isn’t your bag, ask if they can substitute something else.
Price: Moderately expensive. Portions are standard sized, so don’t expect to have left overs.

Had my first visit here this morning and it was wonderful! Service was so friendly and the food was delicious. My mama had the French Toast and LOVED it. (Still talking about it!) I had the Root Vegetable Hash + Smoked Tofu (made vegan) and I loved it as well; super satisfying, flavorful, and prepared with love. Thanks for making our day! We can't wait to come back!
Sharon Her
Great service, tasty breakfast options and very cute flamingo toothpicks. The bloody mary was aces. 👍🏾 …

We very much enjoyed our visit to The Mill Northeast. I stopped in during the mid-afternoon Happy Hours. The staff were all very welcoming snd helped my husband and I choose our favorite beer flavors. We had the truffle fries and cheese curds to share. Both were delicious! Our entrees were all also very good.
Monica Hanson
I love the food at The Mill NE, but their breakfast is my favorite. During the day it’s cheery and bright. On my most recent visit, I had the vegan hash with a baguette. Simple and tasty. I love their granola pancakes with fruit compote and real maple syrup. I usually share that with a friend for “dessert.” Another favorite is the Ecuadorian Baked Eggs. The only thing I am sad about with that meal, is they created a new menu, and swapped out the llapingachos, for their roasted chèvre potatoes. Don’t get me wrong, love those potatoes, they are delicious, but just miss the former. Craft cocktails there are always spot on. Table or bar seating, you will get friendly and great service from their staff.
Aimee
I love this place! Their unique craft cocktail and wine menu changes often as well as their food menu. I've been coming here for many years and have not found anything NOT to like!!! Some of my favorites are the Wild Rice Pancake(s), Crab Cakes, Meatballs, all the soups, the absolute best Veggie Burger I've ever had - SERIOUSLY and cheese curds with homemade Beet Ketchup. They serve Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner. The staff is always welcoming and friendly! In my opinion, it's a hidden gem of Minneapolis. Check it out!
They are not open on Wednesday's.
[Their new name is Half Fancy and not The Mill Northeast.]

Great place for a happy hour with friends! The truffle fries go with any signature cocktail! The Mill Northeast is my go-to place for a happy hour with friends. Stopped by for a late lunch on the 4th of July and the place was filled to the brim with one server on duty. We were well taken care of. I don’t recommend the salad nicoise with shrimp and anchovies. There wasn’t any greens. The anchovies overtook the entire taste because the rest of the ingredients were so bland. It look so yummy but I was so disappointed the salad nicoise was not tasty.
JRob Zetelumen
The Tunisian Rice Bowl was notably outstanding. I didn't want to swallow because I loved having that flavor in my mouth. The pickled burger was astounding, with really nicely spiced fries. The Harissa Chicken was exceptional. I want to kiss the chef on the lips. For dessert we had the Ginger Snaps Affogato, which had the perfect balance of bitter and sweet, and also the fresh made apple pie, made from scratch with a dollop of Sebastian Joe's ice cream.the pie had the best crust ever. The chef has a rare talent for balancing flavors. When the food was all gone, I cried a little bit.
jason G
Great Cuban and truffle fries. Always good selection of craft beer on tap as well.
Nicole Chai Britson
The dine-in experience was awesome!! Wonderful service, fantastic mouth-watering food, fresh-squeezed orange juice mimosas(?!)! The coffee was great and they have non-dairy options for creamer/milk. Tons of healthy food choices, sourced locally whenever possible. We had sausage gravy and biscones, maple pancakes, mimosas, cold brew coffee.
Jonathan Truong
I’ve been here for a very long time. The staff have always treated me well. My porterhouse was cooked perfectly rare and delicious. The new cocktail that I would recommend to anyone is the nitro cold pressed old fashioned. 🥃 …
Mel Boon
Very good food and nice atmosphere. Service was great!
Robyn Lorence
Absolutely delicious late night menu. Will definitely be back!
Evie M
We had cheese curds. To die for. Soft gooey cheese. Crispy, slightly sweet breading. Dry rub and Ranch was great, but beet ketchup was amazing, tangy sweet too. Butternut squash bisque with curry, turmeric and ginger was the best I've had so far.
Hannah A
Love their late night happy hour. Amazing cocktails and their veggie burger is the best I’ve ever had. The service is always excellent! Great vibes too, and they always play good music.
Rolando Villagomez
If you consider yourself a true foodie you owe it to yourself to visit The Mill in Nordeast Minneapolis. This restaurant goes all out in every one of their dishes and drinks to give you something different.
For instance, the cheese curds. A must try item on the menu. The Mill's recipe is uniquely and distinctly their own and coupled with the phenomenal beet sauce, well, these may be your new favorite cheese curds!
For entree I had the breaded bayou chicken atop maque choux. The breading on the chicken was an unexpected surprise. It was like no other breading I've had. The maque choux seemed fairly traditional. Like eating a corn sucotash. It is imperative to first eat a piece of the chicken, swallow, then take in a forkfull of the maque choux. Each component is so distinct and noteworthy that to mix it together in a single bite would mean to lose that important experience. Just trust me.
Also tried the creole grinder which is a fried green tomato sandwich. Again I have never had a sandwich like this in the Twin Cities.
I did not try any drinks but just looking at their selections one can tell that they put so much heart into their drinks as they do the food. Those into alcoholic delights must come here to try their unique offerings. Coconut water ice cubes? Ginger beer ice cubes? Who does that?!
At a quick glance one might think this is just another "American" restaurant but the Mill reinvents American and is well worth your time.
Bre D
Really good fries and breakfast potatoes! Fun drink names, my boyfriend really enjoyed his Liz Lemon cold brew lemonade (don’t knock it til you try it) and his cubano, I ordered the biscuits and gravy and they were okay, a little sweet for me. Love the vibe of the place, was a great spot in the Northeast to gather with friends!
M. S.
This is *the* late spot for food. We headed here when the brewery closed at midnight and were delighted to find the kitchen open with a great late night food menu. The cocktail menu is also perfect for winding up or down your night with zero-proof, low-proof, and high-proof cocktail menus. The bar is well stocked to meet any custom request as well.

We stopped in for lunch today and had a blast, not just because of the delicious food (get the Le Brat!) but also because Adena took great care of us. Regret not taking pictures to share but we were too hungry and it was too good.
Paul Kyser
Super nice people and really good food. Had the Cuban and it was great.
Janavi
Yummy brunch menu. It's a very small and cozy joint so expect a wait when they're busy. Quick and friendly service. Their brunch cocktail menu is fun.
Scot Moore
Great service and good food at a reasonable price. Well definitely go again!
Paul Jahn
Trendy and casual both. Right on Central Ave with plenty of parking and on a few bus routes. The Mandy Veggie Burger is delicious.
Pat Williams
Delicious food, super awesome staff. New menu is very tight, not as much fluff or customization, but everything is still great.
Rob Pascavage
I'm shocked. I was prepared to call this a trendy, granola eating, waste of my money on overpriced raw food. I could not have been more wrong. While they are very socially conscious, their prices were respectable and their food was delicious.
JL “J A” A
Great food and drink. Staff is friendly, but professional. Small restaurant, so get there early. $$$
Aryana Hainsworth
Super friendly staff and incredible food and cocktails. This place is a hidden gem in NE!
Matt Valek
The BB Burger here is fantastic and the service was amazing. Chef Andrew really has a special talent. And those Dirty Fries with the special ranch dipping sauce are out of this world.
Ashleigh Swenson-Stinogel
New name, same vibe (and menu)! One of my very favorite brunch spots! Always amazing food, drinks, and and service! Great kids menu too. Love this place.
xubiya pasha
Really nice hospitality, server was polite and super nice with our kiddos, menu was interesting but some of the food especially noodles was pretty blend but overall it was decent experience.
Jer R
Awesome little place with quality food and great service, in a cool area! (2019)
*Update: My wife and I went here for a few beers after having brunch at Chimborazo, as the near-by Fairstate brewery wouldn't be open for an hour.
The staff are all awesome!! Sarah took the time to talk with us and truly made the experience the kind that makes you want to have the establishment become your new go-to. Speaking of that, we noticed at least four or five obvious regulars who got their "usual" upon walking in the door: This staff knows their customers and pays attention!
Really down-to-earth and relaxed atmosphere, and even though it's a relatively small place their layout offers a spacious feel with colors and decor that pop in a fun way!
We used to live five minutes from the area and miss it SO much!
Denise hiknee
Thr mimosa, truffle fries and cheese curds were great!
Ishaq Shelton
Waiter had great welcoming attitude. Menu was pleasantly diverse and unique yet with familiar dishes. Food was wonderful. I had the baked mac & cheese with corned beef. I tried the fries my friend ordered and they were really good. Definitely worth it. My plate as it was was around $13.
Jennifer Markey
My daughter and I ordered takeout using their online ordering system. It was great! Very slick, though we waited a little longer for our food. My daughter ordered the poutine burger, I had the Joe’s jerk chicken sandwich. We both had truffle fries. My daughter didn’t care for her burger; it was overcooked and she said she only tasted gravy, though it didn’t have much on it. They used mozzarella instead of cheddar, which is a strange choice seeing as mozzarella doesn’t have a lot of flavor.
My sandwich was great, though the bacon that was on it was, like, one short strip, which was weird. The chicken itself was quite spicy, flavorful, and enough meat for two sandwiches, really. Our main problem was with the fries. They are your standard skin-on fries, but they were unseasoned, flavorless and limp (and we gave them some slack on the five-minute travel time). The “truffle” is just truffle oil, so I guess this may account for the sogginess. Either way, they just weren’t good at all.
Steve Helgesen
Had an accident that caused some damage to the building. Everyone was super nice and sympathetic. Patted me on the back and were incredibly nice. Plus the food is original and top rate. Will definitely be going back but my son and I were regulars anyway.
Sarah Golden
This place is amazing. Great staff, excellent food and mocktails.
Cora Raskovich
Cocktails are exceptional - Got the porterhouse medium; got it cooked to high heaven and it’s only the NY strip. My boyfriends chicken sandwich was mainly chewy parts of chicken. Food was served almost too fast - took 15 plus minutes to get our tab after asking.
slackerdc
Traffic food terrific service great location in northeast Minneapolis. Recent name change but it does not look like the menu has changed it is going to be listed as both the mill restaurant and also half fancy both refer to the same place
Josh Quinn
The Ecuadorian Baked eggs were delicious and beautifully presented—5 stars aren't quite enough. Don't skip this place!
Krista P
Place is great! Wonderful cocktails. Unique in its own little way...love that they gave oysters and cheese plus Jell-O shot specials. Absolutely phenomenal pancakes and that’s coming from someone who doesn’t really like pancakes. Chill atmosphere with consistently good food. Would highly recommend!
Alexiz Zaspel
I come here for the potatoes. They are so damn good. Husband got this giant sandwich and really liked it.
caitlin blanton
So so so good. Seasonal menu, large portions and a fantastic variety of craft cocktails. Lots of gin options which I loved!
Noel Voss
Excellent food!!!!! They were very accommodating of my dietary needs, which is nice! Very tasty cocktails! Things worked out well despite social distancing, they handled things well. Service was a little slower, but there wasn't a lot of staff, which makes sense, just something to get prepared for. The staff was very nice, friendly and laid back. Great experience!!!!
Morgan Atchison
Very good cocktail and beer selection. Their happy hour was also very generous in their hearty options. Their cheese curds were in a funnel cake like batter which I personally was not a huge fan of but some others may enjoy it. The service was personable and never felt rushed. I would recommend they get some more classic or consistent decor. It felt very just thrown together and considering the space I am sure they could get really creative. There is a cool outdoor space that I'm sure would be fun to hang out at during warmer weather.
christina marie Johnson
Was provided poor service by a woman inside but then another gentlemen server helped us onto the patio and was PHENOMENAL. We had the truffle fries, cheese curds, honey cake, nachos, tacos (as a group of course) all were great. Fast service too!
Dale Howey
Oh my God the cheesecake was amazing! These guys were servicing the whole room like a champ. We got served on time. Just the right amount of cheek from the wait staff to make it fun. I love this place!
Laura Sudz
Great variety of cocktails, sophisticated jello shots (unbelievable? Well believe it), great food. Their version of the cubano is spicy and delicious. Their Mac and cheese is creamy and decadent. Their Smoked Gouda and bell pepper soup is rich and delicious. If you like mussels, you can't go wrong with ordering them here. We haven't had anything here that we didn't like. It's a little place with a little parking lots so it's easiest to get there and get seated either slightly before or after a meal time rush.
Kristin Keppel
We landed here for breakfast because of the wait elsewhere. We're a happy accident that was! The food and service were fantastic!!! All 6 at our table plan to go back, and we highly recommend it. Even if it means we may have to wait to get in next time. Totally worth it. 😉
Michael Link
I was introduced to this place via Tinder date years ago. Since then it’s been my top list of places for brunch. Food is excellent, sometimes you get lucky on days they have special pastries. Craft cocktails for brunch, yes please! I love that the All Irish Coffee requires assembly, they let you mix the cream into the good part. The Tim Press brings back pleasant childhood memories of playing Final Fantasy.
Christian Spraungel
Good brunch, good cocktails, all other food doesn’t do it for me.
Kelly Jo Brandt
Stopped in for brunch and had a great experience from both the food and the service. Our server helped me decide on the Aimee Sandwich and add some sausage and it was awesome - highly recommend the mix of sweet with some ingredients that help cut that sweetness like the arugula and sausage. My husband got the Cuban sandwich and fries which was also very good. Our server was awesome and our coffees and waters were constantly filled. I would recommend for a solid brunch spot.
Vicki Welch
Very nice staff and very good meals.
Charles P
Now renamed Half Fancy! Informal, well made food, imaginative menu, great atmosphere.
Sarah Carsello
This is my favorite date restaurant. Great for quiet conversation and/or late night drinks. The bartenders have great personality and give a great show while mixing. The food is great and the specials can be very unique and surprisingly delicious. I always order cheese curds - the beet dip is one of a kind!
Ian Allen
Great space with a tasty menu. I’ve been here for brunch a few times and always end up ordering the “Ecuadorian Baked Eggs,” super flavorful and hearty! They don’t take reservations but we usually show up before 11:00 and are always able to get a table right away—if you’re a party larger than 4 though that may be difficult.
Sheldon Anderson
I met a friend for drinks and they were great! We ended up eating and I was really impressed- this is not typical bar food. The burger was great, cheese curds (which I am usually not a fan of) we’re fantastic; beet salad was excellent. I also liked the vibe of the place. Highly recommended for a more sophisticated take on a neighborhood bar.
Derick Hildebrandt
The Mill is great, one of my favorite brunch places in Northeast! When the weather is nice their patio is a perfect addition to your meal. They continuously have a nice selection of local craft beers that pair well with their menu. My biggest gripe is that they got rid of their tobacco simple syrup, that stuff was amazing in a mixed drink.

One of my favorite brunches in town. I really love that you can get vegetarian biscuits and gravy this good. 👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻 Good tap list and good cocktails. If you are considering going here for the first time I suggest the brunch over dinner. I think they definitely shine in the morning. Also they serve brunch later than most places, so that's a plus.

My husband and I went here on a date night a couple months ago. I was excited to see cauliflower wings on the menu. The flavor was okay. The texture was not good. The cauliflower was soggy with very little batter. I would rate the mac and cheese as a little above average. My husband liked it more than I did. I wasn't a fan of the speciality drink but understand how tastes can vary.
Jessie Faust
Had the Equadorian baked eggs, coffee, and mimosas. Everything was delishious. Especially the goat cheese potatoes!
Joe Drechsel
We had a wonderful dinner experience here and would love to come back for brunch someday!!
First the location. Super convenient spot right off Central in North East. They have an on premise parking lot which makes getting in and out super easy!
The food was awesome! Great value and super tasty. The truffle fries and the accompanying dipping sauce were so so good. The winter pasta and rice bowl were really good as well. All around a great meal!

I went to pick up food for my wife after dental surgery. The staff was really helpful instructing what foods meet hers and my daughter's culinary needs. Spouse said her soup was very tasty!
Vegan options are next to nil. I'd rate this higher but there was nothing fort me to east and I had to go get a burrito across the street.
Pathias Moyo
Great place and good. I like the atmosphere and the great service.
Carolyn Packard
Great bartender, delicious food, 4 stars because the atmosphere could be improved. In the summer, with a fun patio, would be stellar! The burger with a fried egg and truffle fries were delicious and the chocolate and celery bitters drink was delicious! Awesome server.
Hannah McWhorter
The Mill is me and my boyfriend's absolute favorite place to go. We have tried almost the entire menu and have never been disappointed. The waitstaff is so friendly and helpful, and we always have the best time eating there! Also, their cocktails are phenomenal. It's so nice that they change things up with their featured cocktail, and their rotating cheese options are always a treat.
My favorite items to order are: Hanger Steak Salad, the Cheese Curds, and the Rejuvenation Libation drink!

I was skeptical...and then blown away! One if the best veggie burger I've ever had, a nicely seasoned black bean base, with a surprise crispy parmesan round. The bun was nicely toasted, and the special sauce was actually special. A salad with apple pistachio was a perfect foil for the rich flavors of the veggie burger. I was in there "in between time" from 3-5 with a limited menu, which was a bit disappointing, but wow. They do these simple things right, can't wait to come during dinner. Service was attentive in a relaxed friendly way. Great beer list and interesting cocktails on the menu. Great blues music playing as well.

All three of our meals tasted great and the best part was the house Irish coffee that my friend had. He is a scotch lover and can put it away. He said the coffee was good but he didn't taste the liquor. My wife and I tried it and it was very strong. We both laughed at him. He said was good but he just couldn't believe it was that strong. Halfway thru it he says oh man I can't believe it I'm getting drunk for brunch. It was a highlight of his visit to Minneapolis. We will definitely be going back.

I can't tell you how much I love this place. For what it's worth, I've brought people here a few times and everyone has left very happy and very full. You can really tell that they take extra care with their food. I've loved their biscones and gravy for brunch, and their veggie burger is awesome! The cocktails are fun too.
The only negative thing that I'd say is that the service is a little slow (I think often times there is only 1 server in the whole place), but always super friendly. I honestly don't mind if it takes a little while, as I come to savor and enjoy the food and talk with my company, but I can see why it might put others off.
Really, truly, try this place out. I don't know why it doesn't have more stars. Everyone I know who's come here loves it.
Gregory Geyerman
Great food, fun atmosphere. Stopped in before immersive VanGough.Reuben was excellent. BEST Cheese Curds I've ever had!
Amethyst Ervin
Always a great experience. Had a small groom's dinner. Our server was so kind and patient. Food was great. Atmosphere is a little funky but charming!
Nai Vasha H
Nice & funny staff. Rurben sandwich’s w dirty fries are my goto from here. I think they make their own ranch that’s good too.
Lex T. (Fiendish)
I've been looking for another place with cheese curds as perfect as The Wilde Roast used to have. These are it! Husband had the tomato avocado soup which was also delicious in both taste and texture. The outside seating is great on a sunny day. If it's busy be prepared to wait a while, but the wait is well worth it!
Karina G.
This is one of the better food options in the area in terms of standard American fare-- they have a decent beer selection, and all of their food from starters to desserts are tasty. The prices are typical, and the vibe is pretty hipster. The lunch menu is a little short before 3 (it is called the Brunch menu) if you're not feeling the breakfast food thing, but they're all fantastic options, and the dinner menu is a bit broader (also all good). It's a great little spot, though sadly not ideal for bigger groups-- better for an outing with two or three people.
All in all, solid Northeast option.
Tara Miko
Seemed a little understaffed, we were seated outside and our server didn’t show up for a long time, but we could see her talking with other guests so it was fine. Our drinks took a long time, but they were great. I had a cold brew and the hash for brunch, which was delicious.
Maybe just need more support staff to help out the server? Another gentleman seemed to be seating all the guests and running food as well, so they were working very hard.
Gregory Schlee
Great location!!! Kinda funky place. Delicious food and drinks. Definitely recommend!
Andrea Torgrimson
We loved the food and the atmosphere - the fries are the best I've had in a long time! We liked the food so much we are here twice during our visit.
tristan henderson
Phenomenal food and great service! Will be back!
Karl Julson
OMG. The dirty cheese curds are probably one of the best things to go in my mouth. The rest was good but those cheese curds were mind blowing.
Upton King
I love this place. It is an absolute gem. Great bar, great atmosphere, interesting food. The outdoor seating is great, adequate parking, and the price is nice. I recommend their brunch. Their veggies burger is also good. The service is on the slow side... so relax a little. It is part of the experience. They will take good care of you.
Rebecca Roth
Perfect. Wonderful. Delicious. We've been here twice, 2 years apart and both times have been 5-star experiences. Biscones and gravy - wow! Quiche - I didn't realize I'd been making it wrong until now. Root hash - thank you for making over-medium eggs correctly. I love how simple hashes can be amazing when done right. You have to order the bloody Mary with the horseradish vodka. Finally...the pancakes. Do yourself a favor - regardless of what you order, add a pancake. They are so.darn.good. Every pancake I've had since the last time we were here has been compared unfavorably to these gems. Service is friendly and attentive. Shout out to Sam in particular.
Ashley Feider
The food is tasty, but something has changed on the menu - where did your old chef go? Did he take the fish and chips recipe with him? I miss it.
Service is always good, the menu is priced appropriately, and the cocktail/beer/wine list is solid. No complaints about the food - everything I've had is delicious - though we miss some of the items that were on your menu last year.
Maggie Cook
Being new to the area, we found this place accidentally and are we glad we did! It was later on a Saturday night and the restaurant and bar were half full so we got seated immediately. The food had very interesting twists and there was a nice collection of comfort food. It was all delicious!! We had a party of 6 and everyone enjoyed their meal but the top 3 standouts were the bucatini, Hawaiian fish and the homemade veggie burger. Even though we were stuffed, we had to try the desserts and we were not disappointed. Our waitress, September, was excellent and her recommendations were on target. She was polite, fun and knew the menu inside and out. She definitely made the experience more enjoyable. Prices for some items could have been a tad lower but it is still worth seeking this restaurant out.
Jacob Hebert
This place was absolutely amazing! The bearded dude squeezing citrus fruits for fresh juice provided exquisite service to our table. On top of that the kitchen was visibly having fun back there and our food came out fast and tasted particularly fantastic. You can really tell they take pride in their food. Can't wait to move to the area so we can make this a regular staple.
Kaylie Burns Gahagan
The Mill is our go-to neighborhood restaurant. The food is always very good with plenty of vegetarian/pescatarian options. The service is friendly and many of the folks that work at The Mill live in the neighborhood. The bar offerings are diverse and delicious and it's easy to go to The Mill whether we just want to grab a quick drink or we're planning to celebrate. My favorite dishes are the roasted beet salad and the smoked corn ramen with a poached egg. For brunch, I love the Ecuadorian Baked Eggs and the Biscones and Gravy are a must-try. If you're nearby, do takeout!
Rebecca Christensen
Great cocktails & beer selection! I love their veggie burger! And I'm not even vegetarian! (It's probably ruined me for any other veggie burger... The good news is I think they offer them for sale!) I like that some menu items change, but I can always count on that veggie burger:)
Jeffrey Peltier
We visited the Mill after dropping off our teenagers for a baseball game at Target Field. We were there early, was seated at outside with perfect weather. We ordered a wine and craft beer from a great menu. We also ordered fried cheese curds as an appetizer. Living in MN, you can find fried cheese curds at the state fair and some restaurants, but most are prepared off site, these were clearly battered and fried on site. There was also beet ketchup to dip, which while skeptical was outstanding.
The main course was great with the seafood pasta that was fresh and a large portion and the Reuben, which was on homemade pumpernickel, which for me stole the show.
Great meal with outstanding service.
Summer Phillips
Love the food here, they have a few consistent dishes but there is always something new every time I have gone, which I enjoy. They also have a variety of great mixed drinks with (I think) weekly specials. I haven't had a bad drink yet and I could be called picky in that regard. Service can be a little slow sometimes.
Daniel Arend
It's a nice spot for drinks. A bit overpriced for food; they are certainly going for the gourmet hipster style but we'd visit more often if they had a better selection of well-priced pub fare. That said, the Mill burger is actually worth the $13 I paid for it - if you're eating here, get that. Drinks are fairly priced and the original cocktails are usually very good.
Jamie Potter
The food an drinks are awesome here! I prefer the brunch, but everything is wonderful that I have had here!!
Hector Salas
I will come back. I was in the hunt for a Cuban sandwich and found way more. The food was unreal good. The Cuban sandwich was good but it was the cheese curds with a beets dip. The chicken sandwich was big in size taste … fries did not disappoint. You can come alone, with a friend or a group - they will accommodate you.
Jennifer Steinbaugh
If I could give more than 5 stars I would. This was our first time here and it was surprisingly awesome. The Piled High Club sandwich and fries were delicious but the star of the meal was the cheese curds. Best. Curds. Ever. They were light and so well seasoned. We are definitely going back!
Jim Wear Jr.
We really enjoyed the decor, the service was great, and so was the food. One more note, they had great Bloody Mary cocktails.
Fernando “Just a guy” Sanchez
While the food wasn't mediocre, it wasnt the best. They definitely have a LARGE beverage selection and food that your palate will love after a night of medium to heavy binging.
The prices I think are comparable to most bar and grills and the plates didn't come out all greasy, nor did it have you looking at your food like maybe you should have ordered something else. I had buffalo wings, that's how I tell a place is worth anything. We as a group had, "Kurds, truffle fries, x2 buffalo chicken sandwiches, and I forgot the other two meals.
While I wouldnt go out of my way to go and and itch my food craving, I might be more than willing to stop by and have another $11 drink of cognac. Happy New Years.. happy 2020..
Lisa Lynch
Great place for brunch, or lunch, or dinner!! Yummy cocktails too! Fresh squeezed OJ!
Brant Miller
The brunch was very good. The potatoes were the best part.
Micah Small
Been here a few times now and had impeccable service each time. The cocktails are solid both during brunch and dinner service. Food is not the highest of class nor is it trying to be, but it is great for what it is. Really enjoyed brunch here and had a few bar snacks at night that were delightful.
Bob & Katsy Hanson
We had wonderful food and service but our waitress was amazing and had so much fun with us! She made our lunch a fun, pleasing experience! Thank you Timmy!
Jenna Totz
You have to get brunch here! The Biscones and Gravy are legendary. If you’re having lunch get the veggie burger. Hands down the best one in the city!! Haven’t had anything that isn’t delicious. Great beer selection and patio space in the summer.
Sydney N
Excellent service, went here for brunch and the options were good for the vegans and vegetarians in our party. Chèvre potatoes are quite nice as well.
Kayti Decay
Food is really good, drinks are really good, just come here knowing that your bill is going to be a lot so you manage your expectations, or come during happy hour which is quite reasonable. It's a gastropub so the food is high quality and the drinks are crafted and priced accordingly. I come here a lot because it's in my neighborhood and the service is fabulous. Brunch served late, order a tim the enchanter shot, my fave.
Michael Anderson
I tried the Mill Northeast for the first time recently, and I felt it was a good spot to grab dinner after an afternoon of wandering downtown. The prices seemed pretty reasonable, the rotating taps filled with local brews were ample, and the fast, courteous service topped the experience off. I certainly wouldn't hesitate to explore more of the menu the next time I'm in the area.
Ali
Such a great atmosphere and the biscuits and gravy meal on the brunch menu were so yummy! Our server was very friendly as qell. There looked to be a lot of unique dishes and drinks rhat I am excited to try when I return in the future! The free off-street parking and convenient location was an added bonus.
Aaron Wagner
Went on a Wednesday night shortly before close. Wasn't terribly busy, so service was prompt. Food was really good. We got the cheese plate, BLT and Cubano. All very good. Definitely recommend the truffle fries. They also offer a decent local hot sauce, which is made with habaneros and garlic. I don't drink, but their alcohol/beer selection seemed good.
Micah Harris
I went here to celebrate my birthday with my Grandma and cousin. We had the brunch menu, and It had the CROQUE MADAM MUFFIN it was so flavorful and Tasty I loved it. Also, the bloody Mary was phenomenal with a house mix. I highly recommend it the only downside is limited parking and it is a smaller restaurant as well so it fills up quick.
G.MALICIOUS
Atmosphere: super trendy, a hipster's delight. However, food was disappointing.
Sonia Merten
LOVED my brunch cheesy potatoes - would absolutely come back for those. Service was great. There's a nice little patio for those who want to eat outside.
Sonja Freeman
Service was super! Everyone was friendly and talkative, like meeting up with some acquaintances. Their bloody Mary is a bit different (I won't give away the secret) but the brunch foods we got weren't too special. The biscuit was awesome, but the gravy was kinda boring. Chevre potatoes were a rich addition to an already rich dish. The beef hash had super nice tender meat, but lots of oil and I wished the sauteed cabbage was more tangy or acidic to cut the buttery richness. Good coffee, and I'll go back for the wild rice pancake.
Brad C
Food is fantastic! Creative, yummy dishes in a really nice space, with a small dedicated parking lot. Our server was attentive and friendly, even though they had just opened and she was trying to set everything up. Definitely recommend!
Alayna Bordner
Super good food, loved their red-eye ramen, good hot or cold. And they have famously good cheese curds! Great service, amazing staff, cool vibes, great restraunt overall! 5 stars!
Alexandra Olson
This place and great drinks and the best beet salad around. I really just come here for beet salad even though the rest of their food is also wonderful. It is on the smallish size if you have a large group, but there are a few spots depending on the size. They also have a nice late night menu.
burcin ozel
The wait staff is delightful and the food is delicious! Good coffee for a restaurant that doesn't specifically bill itself as a breakfast place. Great brunch experience. We'll definitely be back.
Zack Gill
Solid bloody, interesting and great beer pairs, one of the best soups I’ve ever had (sorry Jenn) and the vibe immaculate - earned a 5 star from me.
Jenny Voorhees
I am from out of town and I liked this place! Sat outside on the patio, the service was friendly and relaxing. Menu included vegetarian and non vegetarian options. Fresh ingredients, craft beer, and good conversation! Small place but lots of character!
Ben Chandler
The brunch is light and fun, and dining on the patio is a blast, but the real value of The Mill NE is their dinner menu. I've never been disappointed with an order. The menu changes frequently, so make sure you try out everything!
Erin Houge
We went to the Mill a few weeks ago on a random "date night" after driving past it nearly every day. The service was a little slow (I think they were down a server?) but the food was excellent. Make sure to have the octopus confit. We also had champagne that was very good too! Definitely a must-check-out place in NE!
Nancy Norman
Food and staff great! Drinks menu varied but I didn't try anything. Lots of options. Why not 5 stars? They don't take reservations. It is LOUD. Not a good place to have fun food and a nice conversation. Absolutely worth trying.
B W
I really like this place. Great staff, eclectic and good quality American fare. Great drinks and late night specials. Cozy ambiance. World definitely recommend going here. Note, can be very busy during peak hours so you should probably get a reservation if you're coming for a meal or with a larger party.
Oly Puff
Dang it, do I love the Mill. The food is always great and the people are always friendly. We had the Croque Madame Muffin today. The potatoes were to die for! I can't wait for patio season. I'm glad to hear they have some non-alcoholic beer offerings.
Though it can be spendy, you will not regret it here. Thanks, Mill!
Gabby
The mill is an awesome neighborhood spot. They have great bloodies and drinks, their food is tasty, and the staff is so nice and personable. Cal specifically always has a smile when I go in there.
Alison Price
Great quirky restaurant in the NE Minneapolis Arts District. Fresh salads, delicious daily soups, and hand made food makes this a favorite spot. The chef has a vegan sister, so often has vegan options, or ask, they have been happy to accommodate me as a vegetarian. Beet salad is as beautiful as it is delicious.
The parking lot is tiny, so on street is a good option. The Minneapolis 2nd Police Precinct is one block north, and has ample on street parking.
Sara Jane Cannon
This place! It’s got it all. Delicious, creative food, perfectly executed. Excellent, interesting cocktails; ridiculously amazing service. My spouse and I came here right at peak today (July 4 2018) and had a perfect experience. When we arrived the place was extremely busy, probably because it’s awesome. Eric seated us and explained that we might have to wait a little while for service because they had only one server on the floor and a full restaurant. It wasn’t hard to see; every seat was full. I looked around and saw that people seemed happy and tables are turning over fast. It turned out that we hardly had to wait at all. Service was better than a lot of comfortable restaurants when they are half full. Our order was taken right away by Brandy, who is extremely flexible, creative and friendly. She completely rocked. We were checked on multiple times by both Brandy and Eric, who were postitive and efficient. Eric even came back at the end to ask if we needed anything else... he and Brandy covered an amazing amount of ground. Another kind lady was refilling coffee so efficiently that it seemed magical. Oh, and the food was amazing. I love this place.
Nico Picococo
This place is at the top of the NE eateries. Unique menu based on seasons and chef's creativity. Custom drinks you won't find anywhere else. Fun and friendly waitstaff. And watching the bartenders can be entertaining all by itself.
Briana Crusan
Get the dirty curds. Hands down the best cheese curds in town. Also try the truffle fries. And the patio. Great spot, great food.
Joseph Caliguire
Always a wonderful experience at The Mill.
Great little beer and spirit selection, craft cocktails, and delicious scratch made food offerings. Brunch served until 3pm.
Amazing, friendly staff. You won't be disappointed.
Lynn Christensen
My all time favorite thing at the Mill NE, is the pot roast. A wonderful price of braised beef so tender it's like butter. With roasted potatoes, red cabbage and hollandaise. Everything we've had there has been incredible. It's relaxed and fun. Great friendly service. We love it!
Devin Batkiewicz
Great daily brunch with eclectic flavors. We'll done and well presented. Large beer list and a great variety of other cocktails too. A little spendy but the service was excellent.
Wilson Karlstrom
Always great, haven't had a single bad entree or cocktail. Brunch is fantastic. Bartenders are all very friendly, and they also serve my favorite Minneapolis hot sauce, Cry Baby Craig's. Couldn't recommend it enough.
Lauren Kortbein
Went here for brunch and it was awesome! The staff was friendly, the space is cozy but not suffocating. It was a little loud, but that's likely because it's a smaller space. I got the mushroom gravy and biscuits and it was awesome!!!
Phil B
Great drink options, surprisingly good food!
Cooper Buss
One of our favorites. Cubano sandwich is a must. Sometimes we go there just for their cheese curds. But then end up ordering more things because we can't resist. Their cocktails are fun too.
Rebecca Bailey
I have been coming here for a couple years now, realized I never left a review. Always great food! Great service, and to-go orders are well packaged and taste great!
Kevin Anderson
Good food & cocktails. Cozy space with a cool vibe. The Squash Bisque is unreal.
Jeff Lunde
A very good Cuban sandwich, but even better can be found. Hand cut fries were solid, but bit over salted. I have to nit pick to justify anything less than a 5. Overall a great place.
Ryan Larson
Went last night with my girlfriend. Very cute small place. The drink menu was superb, they offer a ton of classic cocktails and they all have some sort of modern twist to them, we had two cocktails and split a bottle of proseco which was delicious.
We had the octopus confit which was fantastic, beef hash which was one of the best dishes we have had in the last year and also split a Cuban sandwich which was solid also.
Highly recommended!
Jon Dable
Usually peanut butter and fried egg on my burger is a special request, but at The Mill this is Standard Fare! Bloody Mary was just spicy enough for my tastes, and there's Cry Baby Craig's hot sauce at every table if you need to kick it up a notch. Highly recommend.
Jenn Massey
Best veggie burger I e ever had
Rosanna Hudgins
Another very yummy place in the Twin Cities! The cinnamon wild rice pancakes are amazing and the bar is well stocked to prepare cocktails galore. Definitely worth the possible wait for a seat.
Tom Etzel
Went here for brunch with 5 other people. This place was awesome. We all had breakfast food. Everyone loved it. Service was great too. When we left we all said that we would come to try other things on the menu again.
The place is fairly small, and they do not take reservations. So, come early or prepare for a little bit of a wait.
Brad Koland
Went there for bfast on Saturday. Wonderful! Great food and great service! I had the root veggie hash. - yum!!
Great atmosphere.
Nina Koller
I have mixed feelings about this place. TL;DR Don't order the "Fish and Chips"
Pros: They have an extensive drink menu with a lot of good sounding cocktails at reasonable prices. They also had a decent tap list. I ordered the drumsticks ($9) as an appetizer and they were fantastic. The meat was juicy, the skin was crispy, and it came with brussel sprouts and pork belly on the bottom of the dish which were delicious.
Cons: My entree was a huge disappointment. I ordered the fish and chips. First, it was a single filet, and while a decently sized portion it had absolutely no seasoning. The breading was only on to the top of the filet and it was so bland that I peeled it off so I could actually taste the fish. Second, the two sauces that came with the dish were also completely tasteless. There was no acid on the plate whatsoever. No malt vinegar to add, not even ketchup for the small amount of fries that came with the dish, which got soggy from the bland gravy-like sauce on the plate. I saw other people order food that came with fries and their portions of fries were significantly larger. The plate also had "sugar snap peas" which I was excited for, but it turns out it was 1 tablespoon worth of slivered pea pods, which were drowning in tasteless gravy. I considered not finishing the food because I wasn't enjoying it, but I was too hungry not to. So for $18 I got a huge plate of disappointment. I will be very hesitant to order a full meal there again because I don't think it's right to pay that much money for something that I didn't enjoy.
Bret Spottke
Liked the food, hangar steak salad only has about 3 ounces of meat for $17. Service is average at best and beer is not close to cold. Wanted to like it based on recommendations but won't be back.
Nicole Westphal
Parking was easy, instantly greeted the moment we walked in and seated right away. Waitress was very friendly, this place is vegetarian friendly and the food was so good!!! We came during lunch time on Wednesday but had brunch. I highly recommend.
Daniel Walkowiak
Go for it, you know what i'm talking about, get the lobster benedict. Excellent little breakfast spot. I was in Minneapolis from outt of town and stopped by chance. Very happy I did. My wife had the ecuadorian eggs which was also very good. The service was also very good. I would for sure stop here again. The prices were very reasonable for high quality food.
Daniel Mezzenga
The mill has an awesome neighborhood feel. The coffee is amazing, the food is unique and tasty and the staff is always laid back and attentive. The breakfast potatoes are on point. It's one of my favorite spots in northeast.
Shannon Krohn
If you're going on the weekend for breakfast be prepared for a wait. Those waiting are forced to stand in the doorway which can be difficult for those with mobility issues when wait times start to get long. The food was delicious, the potatoes are my new favorite thing. The staff were all great and we'll be going back for sure once mom is out of her boot.
Loren K
We popped in for a lunch one weekend and I had a difficult time choosing one thing and ended up going with the veggie burger just on account of being indecisive. It turned out to be pretty good, and the best part was they sell their veggie patties frozen to go if you wanted to take some home. I thought that was pretty cool. They are just around the corner from where I live so I should probably stop in more frequently.
Kathryn-Ann Cravillion
Great food! I was extremely happy with my biscones and gravy. The server was pleasant, the atmosphere friendly. They had a small parking lot, and we were able to find a spot for Sunday brunch.
Andrew Drier
It was my first time eating at the Mill today and I was very impressed. The service was excellent, the food was delicious and the atmosphere was great. I would highly reccomend this spot to anyone and I will be back soon. Oh, and I forgot to mention that their beer menu was awesome!!!
Mika Baer
Very interesting cocktails and delicious home cooked food. They have great mixes of tea (especially the evening in Missoula) that they blend and bag themselves! I think this is one of my new favorite spots! I recommend the Ceylon and Garfunkel cocktail. They have a nice Argentinian red but the house red also pretty good. Nice selection of beers. For food my go to is the CC Delux. As much as I love this place I would recommend staying away from the fish and chips. Brunch is also really good here but not a fan of the bloody marys...
Timothy W Larson
Great staff, good menu, lovely rotating craft beer taps (full bar should you like something harder), easy to make a haunt. Menu has changed for good and other. Keeping it fresh.
Adam Talajkowski
Great food and atmosphere, fries were amazing. Server was awesome! And they have Hamms, perfect.
Amanda Soczynski
I’ve been here late night, dinner, brunch (a lot lol). No matter what, the food is really good. The service is amazing and everything is consistently good. A bit on the smaller side space wise. So if you plan on coming for brunch expect a wait - small parking lot - but there’s lots of street parking nearby. The brunch is amazing! Go there :)
Bonnie Wilcox
Great selection of beer, wine and cocktails. Food is consistently delicious. Great service today on the patio, in spite of wind and done Central Ave noise, we had a wonderful time.
Mike Haarstad
Fantastic cocktails, bar, service. A bit on the pricey side, but is quality
Joseph Jurek
A small little restaurant in North Minneapolis, The Mill offers a good hearty breakfast/ brunch that will leave you satisfied and content. Offering traditional style breakfast with a unique twist. Pancakes with wild rice flower that are light but filling and delicious. Head chef is from Keys cafe in Foshey so you know breakfast is on point. It's a 4.25 out of 5 for me and $$ half for cost.
S F
This has been one of the places that I have eaten here in Minnesota. The food was amazing but the drinks are what you come here for. The bartenders suggestion for what drinks to have were outstanding.
Jason Luther
Delicious brunch food. The seafood in my eggs was great, and the cheese on the potatoes very tasty.
Gigi Amal
The cheese cuuurds! Heavenly! Always get the cheese curds! The beer selection is great. Lots of local brews to choose from. The server was really nice, too. Nice little spot to go to. Will definitely be back!
Reade Adams
Excellent potato sausage soup. Beet Capresse included yellow beets along with the usual red. Very well done. A dustrag to the picture frames on the walls over the tables would be in order. Service was good, food was good.
Aaron Neumann
Awesome place and one of my most favorite in NE Minneapolis. Amazing brunch servered EVERY DAY UNTIL 3PM. Great lunch options too. Good beer and drink selection, nice atmosphere.
Jordon Meyer
Delicious. Unique options and great service. This place is just plain good. We were sat right away for brunch, before 11am. It filled up a bit by the time we left but the wait didn't look bad at all. Definitely going back.
Leslie Boey
Kind staff and safe service, but the take-out portion of the beet salad was not worth the $12. The salad filled maybe 1/6th of the takeout box. I expected a lot more for $12.
David Hargreaves
Came for the Jello shots. They were alright but didn't live up to the hype. However, the bartender was very friendly and attentive and every other drink we ordered was delicious. Would definitely return.
Robert Underwood
Solid choice for brunch! Have been a couple of times now, and the quality has been consistently good. The patio is a nice (and necessary) touch because of the relatively small indoor seating area.
Aaron Henderson
Cozy atmosphere with great drinks and a delicious after-hours menu. Bartenders and staff are very friendly. A fine place for cocktails and bites, I'm sure the daytime menu is also worth the visit.
Robert Peterson
Mill City always exceeds my expectations when I dine here. The staff is so welcoming and the food, oh gosh they have such great choices. I walk away with a full belly and more great coffee than I should have.
Stevi Rose
I love this place. The brunch is my favorite. The atmosphere and service are always great as well. This is easily one of my regular spots. They never disappoint.
Junkion Systems
Two appetizers (truffle fries & cheese curds) and three beers should not be $38.15!
The service here is nice, very chill, which is welcoming. Avoid these two aps, they're not that great.
Nancy Cerkvenik
The mussels are delightful. The Mac was great, the truffle oil addition was terrific. We tried a few of the signature cocktails and we're thrilled. I was thoroughly surprised that the soup du jour was rabbit stew and let me tell you... A-MAZE-ING!
Mike Kacher
Great service, nice vibe, super food.
Caitlin Searls
Breakfast is great. The service is always always always good. The night time is kind of boring. Overall a favorite for drinks with friends.
Dr. Ron Ward
I was in a bind on Mother's Day and I thought of the Mill because I was a fairly frequent patron there before the COVID-19 hit. Wow! Jerk Chicken sandwich, root crop hash, BB chicken wings, creamy chicken wild rice soup - and those truffle fries! Served at the window piping hot! What a face saver!
heather levitz
Always top notch service no matter what time I show up. Food is delicious and they have something for everyone's particular pallette. The bartenders are true gems, don't miss out on seasonal menu items and special drinks!
Naliia Feno
Consistently good food and creative, yet well done, drinks. Pricing is reasonable given the quality. The campfire dessert is a surprisingly good (and light) treat after dinner. Or just get an after dinner drink. Or both. Both is good.
Shayla Floyd
The best brunch/breakfast I've had in a really long time! The Biscones and Gravy (with mushroom gravy) was so great, I can't stop thinking about it. I'll definitely be back soon!
Jessica Cannon
Such a fun little spot for date night! Amazing cocktails, butternut squash soup, beet salad and Reubens! Definitely recommend!
Ben Jorgenson
I understand the past few months has been tough on restaurants, but the quality of food and attention to detail of what is coming out of the kitchen has slipped drastically here. I won’t be returning until there is a menu revision

Nice cozy place. Went for lunch and they had a limited lunch selection. But they did serve breakfast food during lunch. But that was not what I was in the mood for. So I had the 1 burger they had on the menu. It was good maybe a bit pricey though.
Jeana Behnke
Fantastic food and beverages, friendly and efficient staff. Customers and staff alike just seemed overjoyed to be open and back again. It was a good night!

Went here on a whim one Sunday morning because a friend was hungover. Their food wasn't too bad. I'd say it's worth going back.
It's in a cute spot on Central where you can sit outside and have a couple drinks while waiting for your sammich.
Tracy Johnson
Too loud hipster music. Food sounded interesting on menu, but we werent impressed and overpriced. Weird tasting bloody marys. Sausage gravy with biscones thin without much sausage.
Erin Smith
Server was helpful and attentive. The hanger steak salad was wonderful. I just loved the clever flavor combo of the smoked grapes and blue cheese.
Paul Davidson
Great food and solid atmosphere, we go here at least once a month

High energy, great staff, good mussels but charging a 1.50 for a piece of crostini that should have been part of the bowl that size was not necessary.
