We had the Carne Pazza(meat lover's), Garlic cheese bread, and a scoop of mint chocolate ice cream. The cheese bread was good but could've been a little crispier. The pizza was excellent, great flavor, perfect ratio of toppings, very good crust. The ice cream was very good as well. Our server was fast, friendly, and enthusiastic. Definitely a top pizza place in the twin cities. The building itself looks rough on the outside, but it was very clean and welcoming on the inside.

Ok ...now I know why Lorenzo is Fat! I have not stopped by this place since I rode my FZR1000 around the lake! I remembered they had good pizza...but when you are 20....is there such a thing as BAD pizza? Fast forward 30 years and I'm in the neighborhood over lunch....I'll stop by. Just a small little place but I could see them picking up that building and moving it anywhere and it would do well. It was hot today and there were a number of tables outside you can sit at if you like. A small dining room inside as well...but I bet you it's busy during peak hours. Small BUSY kitchen! Home made cookies baking....a guy in the back making dough from scratch....a gelato (home made) case just as you walk in...yeah...the makings of a great neighborhood place. The gentleman at the register was super friendly and it did take a few moments to get my food....but both made the wait well worth it....plus the smells of a good pizza kitchen alone is worth it.... I did NOT get the pizza but holy cow did it look AMAZING! My hogie was great! Fresh bread...toasted....with plenty of filling and no need for chips! Coleslaw....yes....chips....no need for any stinking chips! Prices seemed very reasonable!!!! I'll need to stop by again some day for a slice ...I have a feeling I won't be disappointed!

Great place for either a slice or whole pizza pie. Try their bread stick starter perfect for two people. They make great tasting Fat's pizza with a tasty topping to crust ratio. Remember to save room for their chocolate gelato.

Great little pizza joint. It's unique with a laid-back unpretentious vibe. Seems disorganized and even unkempt at times but I think this just adds to the atmosphere of the place. Good old school pizza which can be refreshing amidst the plethora of super hip pizza shops around town. I also love that they serve slices which are enormous. Overall, love the vibe, decent pizza and gelato in a great location!

Delicious food! Took my three tween/teen kids and all of us shared an extra large cheese pizza and one order of spaghetti with marinara. And I had a side salad. The kids all had some spaghetti and 2 slices of pizza. (We had to order an extra half serving of spaghetti because one daughter likes the noodles plain. The original spaghetti order was very saucy.) The pizza slices were huge! I could only eat one with my salad. Took the peppers, onions and fresh mushrooms off my salad since they're not my thing, and then it was just right. Ranch dressing was super thick and very tasty. Kids loved the pizza. Server was very good at taking care of everybody, although we did have to ask for a refill on water when he didn't notice we were out.

Freshly made pizzas where you can see the food made in front of you with the cook, kitchen and oven! Surprisingly well ventilated place in spite of open layout. It is worth the wait for your order! Large size is the best value deal. I will skip ordering slices next time, as whole pizza tasted much more better 👍

Love this quaint neighborhood spot! The pizza is amazing. We tried creating our own last time, and I would highly recommend adding goat cheese to yours. So yummy! You also can’t forget the artichoke dip. It’s one of my favorites.

This is my first review, and its purpose is more to commend the service of one individual than to complain about others. We ate at Fat Lorenzos earlier this evening, and something went wrong somewhere. We watched people seated after us get and finish their food long before we received ours. Eventually, our server came over, half-apologized for the delay, and told us it would be about another 15 minutes. No other explanation was given. I'm guessing our order didn't get entered or there was a mishap in the kitchen. Understandable, but sucking it up and admitting to your customers when something goes wrong goes a long way. It was probably another 25 minutes until we had our food. Food was great. Now, onto the actual purpose of my review... We were seated in the busiest part of the restaurant, at the end of a row right between the kitchen and the servers station. Every order came right past us. The woman I assume was the shift manager came by us probably 40 times while we waited. Neither our server nor the suspected manager seemed to notice that we sat there without food for an extended time. As we closed in on an hour, we did get the "another 15 minutes" apology, but then we were invisible again. The one bright point was a young man who was not our server. He briefly visited with us earlier in the evening as he was passing by. Later, he was passing by again, as every server in the place did with every order, and noticed we still didn't have food. Again, not his table, not his customer, not his tip...he asked what we had ordered and went back to kitchen to check it out. Came back and let us know it was just coming out of the oven. His shift was just ending as we were leaving, so I visited with him on the way out. Let him know that we noticed that he cared about what was going on and encouraged him to keep caring more than the rest. We didn't complain about our service to him, just thanked him for giving a little extra. He pointed out that our server was relatively new, throwing no one under the bus to make himself look better. I didn't catch his name, but everyone there knows who he is. He is the reason this review is 4 stars rather than 1 or 2. And, if you need some advice on the foot placement of the traced-hand turkey you're drawing while you are waiting without food, he's your man.

I while in Minneapolis, I wanted pizza this place wasn't far from my hotel. We stopped in for take out.This place is very busy Dine in, and takeout. Young people working at fast pace making pizzas right behind the desk, from tabletop into the oven. Got a 10 inch pizza it looked great and taste great. I will go back..

I've only been here twice on my sister's recommendation. Everything is good, but the building is old and needs a deep clean. Staff is attentive. Had the pizza which was laoded and full of sauce. Honestly even though we wish old places could last forever, the right decision here is too delete and rebuild. Sorry. The food and personality can live on. Look at vent as you pass to the bathroom...over the top grime, how does the health inspector now shut this place down. Again not about the food. Just old place that is beyond retribution. Great place that needs a reboot.

Third time in a year to Fat Lorenzo's! Food is amazing! The Lasagna is my favorite and enough for two meals! It may look like a "whole in the wall bar" but their Italian food is out of this world! Great service, friendly staff, family owned. Reasonable price. Don't miss it!

A good place to try at least once. The pizzas usually come loaded with toppings but that usually means the crust is a little underdone. Not a lot of vegetarian friendly options aside from the build your own pizzas. It would be great if they added plant based meat to their menu

Dare I say the best pizza on the southside? With a very home-like atmosphere and a wide selection of delicacies, Fat Lorenzo’s is a one of a kind Italian based eatery. I had the Caesar salad there the other day, and was completely blown away by how good it was! Cannot recommend enough. For dessert check out their in house made gelato!

I've noticed a bit of a dip in quality lately, they'll regularly undercook the pizza which causes the crust to be super floppy unless you specifically request it be in the oven a few minutes longer. They've also been putting very little sauce even if I request extra on my pizza, Fat Lorenzo's sauce is part of what makes their pizza so good. I'm a bit disappointed because I've always loved Lorenzo's, and while the quality has gone down the prices definitely have not.

I'm conflicted. I love fat Lorenzo's. It's some of my favorite pizza and I love eating in the restaurant and drawing on the tables. But they have gotten my order wrong the last 3 times I've gotten take out. It's not a complicated order. It's to the point where everytime I order from them I just anticipate it being wrong. They always fix it, and are generally pretty nice about it but c'mon guys :(

Amazing! We loved it. Perfect place for the family and the food was spectacular. If you need some hearty Italian comfort food, this is the place. I brought home two pints of Butterfinger gelato as well, yum! We will definitely be back again.

Really tasty pizza and gelato. Pasta was okay, nothing great. Pizza had a great doughy crust and good amount of cheese. Gelato was great! Good ranch for dipping. Reasonably priced ($45) for a large pizza, big pasta, and pint of gelato.

Busy parked on the street down the block. Seated right away. Salads were huge. Spaghetti was great and The pizza was also very good.

Fantastic pasta, huge portions (easily two meals), great murals, and you can color on the tablecloth. Always ordered pizza to go but actually eating in and getting other things on the menu is 100% worth it. Homemade gelato is delicious so just take your leftovers home to save room. There's a reason Fat Lorenzos is a South Minneapolis institution. May it continue to sponsor the local fun leagues and never ever die.

This is still my favorite place to get a good standard pizza. There isn't anything crazy in terms of ingredient, but they pile a ton on. The hoagies are also super delicious and massive. If you're looking for a great pizza place in South Minneapolis this is it.

Driving to and parking here is a little tricky, so plan a little extra time, but you know it's good when that many people are flooding the place. The home made bread sticks are delicious. Seem to be made to order as well. Came out insanely hot and perfectly baked. Gave the classic spaghetti and meatballs a whirl. Those meatballs are huge! Couldn't finish it all in one go, fed me for lunch the next day too. So worth the money. And they were having a wine special at the time, so I tried out their Syrah. It was splendid. Will definitely be back. At least to try that gelato. Got a sample at the end of the meal and not having room to eat anymore has haunted me since.

Always love Fat Lorenzos, but today kindof a disappointment. Drove a half hour out of our way and paid $30 for a single large pepperoni. Seemed like a small box. Super busy. Overheard an employee say “ you gave away that large pep to someone else, didnt you?” Got home. Lo and behold. Not our pizza. Measured it too. Ha. Tried calling to rectify it, got put on hold for 10+ min, and forgotten. Oh well. Maybe another time it’ll be right..

Nice small local Italian place. Both indoor and outdoor seating. Furry friends are allowed on patio! Food takes a long time as they're pretty busy on weekends. Staff was very friendly. They have a variety of options from hoagies, pastas, pizza, salads and even home made gelato. Close to lake Nokomis. I had their vegetarian hoagie and the portion size was huge. Also they have a plenty of options for cream sodas.

Can't comment on atmosphere since I have only ordered to go for the past few years. The Alfrenzo pizza is perfect in every way. Very few places can mimic the amazing crust quality of this place as well!

Very tasty pizza, but watch out for wait times on dates and times when more people will be by the lake (Nokomis). Sometimes so slow wait staff (or that may have been the cooks).

Hubby brought me a Fat Special Sub. Good flavor. I liked the Italian dressing which they put on the side so the sandwich did not get soggy on the way home. I will probably try the sundried tomato aoli next time. Hubby did not care for the coleslaw because it had a sweet flavor to it but I liked it. I will have to ask if they do double meat next time, as we like a hefty sub.

Nothing like a local place that uses the best ingredients and makes the pizza right in front of you. The price paid for two different meals for my partner and I because of how big the pizza is! The Fat's Combo (pictured) is a MUST. The breadstick is tasty, but note that it is one BIG one, not a bunch of small ones. Can't wait to come back again soon.

Fat Lorenzo's always has been one of our favorite pizza places. The waitstaff is always friendly, and the smaller dining area is cozy. I would have given a better rating, but the pizza quality has not been as good for our last two visits. The pizza crust has lost the fresh-baked taste, and seems stale and dried out.

Was craving pizza the other night but only wanted a slice or two. I remembered Fat Lorenzo’s and thought I’d see if they sold single slices. They did and holy cow…. They were delicious. I’m more of a veggie gal but I tried the sausage and I was amazed how much I loved it. Worth stopping by and grabbing a slice of their pizza if anyone is wondering! So good!

Everything about our experience here was fantastic, from the service to the food! My husband had a severe mushroom allergy, and our server was amazing with walking us through which things on the menu would be safe for him based on where they were made in the kitchen. She was also incredibly kind to our toddler, bringing her crayons to help keep her entertained. The food was delicious! We had the artichoke dip, a slice of pizza, some pasta, and a hoagie. Every last thing was so good! We will definitely be back and will recommend it to others.

Where do I start I was looking for a good Italian restaurant and being from Minneapolis I always pass by here to go to the mall and etc. I finally gave it ago and was very delicious I tried the chicken garlic Alfredo , the server was nice and gave good recommendations to me and my friend's. I was expecting so much more from a place that got an award in 2013...it's OK food, nothing impressive or worth returning for. The seating area is SMALL! Not sure if they use ovens to heat the place but it was almost suffocating it was so warm in there. Wanted to try their gelato but they had 6 flavors and none looked appealing.

Moved back to the twin cities and hadn’t been here for over 17 years. Wanted our boys to try this. It didn’t disappoint. We had the house salad. Wonderful and as described on the menu, it’s a meal in itself. We have been there twice in one month and had a couple of pizzas. They were delicious! Can’t wait to take the boys back for the other dishes, like spaghetti or hot hoagies. They are a bit cramped for space but we seemed to visit before the rush so it was just fine. Friendly staff good service. We will definitely return and bring friends to enjoy!

Go for a walk around Lake Nokomis and then stuff your face with great Italian food. My husband loves the spaghetti and meatballs. Not sure what makes it so tasty but if you like spaghetti you need to try it. Even if it's -13 you need to get some gelato. Your mouth will do a happy dance.

I ordered over the phone. Please, don't stop calling if you get a busy signal. They WILL answer. Be ready with what you want etc...(they've got a lot of mouths to feed) The pizza and Chicken Alfredo were especially well prepared. Perfectly seasoned, delicious, hot, and ready exactly when promised for pick up. Give yourself an extra 5 minutes to find a spot to park if you are picking up. My hat is off to the professionals working there! I appreciate what you do.

The waiter was so cool. Professional yet chill. This is a fun place where you can be casual but it also fits to be dressed up. The food is world class. Amazing pizza and really good sandwiches that are huge. I've also had their pasta from their catering service; fantastic. Clean and comfortable.

As always, their pizza is definitely the reason to come here. I can officially say that as I finally had a hot sandwich from them for lunch one time after getting their pizza for the last 10 years. But their pizza, I don't think it matters what you toss on top of that crust. The crust is excellent, then they throw on the tasty toppings of theirs and it just comes together beautifully. The symphony of flavors is wonderful. I have always beaten people that don't normally eat crust when I bring them here. You must eat the crust... must... With that being said, the pizza is worth the money.

I loved our lunch date today at Fat Lorenzo’s on 5600 Cedar Ave S! The ambience was romantic, charming, and memorable. My husband and I shared a “Fat’s” salad and an order of chicken Alfredo which were delicious! We were warmly greeted at the door and our waiter was very attentive to our needs! An A+ experience!

I just wanted to compliment whoever is responsible for making my pie and the dough. I ordered a medium BBQ Chicken at 4:45pm on 12/8 and it’s always delicious but this time there was something perfect about the dough. Baked perfectly, not overdone, slightly crunchy on outside, light and fluffy in the middle. Overall a 5-star pizza and experience. 😁👍 My family and I thank you!

Got their slim veggie pizza and olive oil base with fresh mozzarella and basil pizza. My kids devoured it. Freshness in every bite. One of the best pizzas in town

Came in to the place, and it looks amazing. Looks rustic, offentic, and has lots of character. Very polite service, and very fast service. Finally some homemade spaghetti! As well as the amazing spaghetti, the pizza was also incredible as was the gelato. Don't EVER order takeout by phone. Use a 3rd party online app like GrubHub when ordering carryout. Ordered by phone at 6:45. I've been a customer for over a decade and have their number saved. Walked in an hour and 15 minutes later to pick up the pizza they said would be ready by 7:30 and they hadn't even started prepping it yet. Watched for 20 more minutes as they prioritized anyone who had ordered from a third party app in front of us. Guy behind us in line told us he had ordered well after us. His order was ready. Lorenzo's must have a contract to fill orders in a certain amount of time that they get online and phone orders get perpetually pushed to the back of the line when they're busy. Finally walked up and told them to cancel it when they still hadn't started at 8:20 and left. Beyond disappointed. This was one of my favorite spots in Minneapolis. Great pizza, but the service has slipped big time.

Friendly and attentive staff. Cozy atmosphere that's perfect for a quick lunch date, and it's also nice that it's by the lake. We ordered the Carne Pazza pizza and it was really good. The prices may seem a little high to some, but I still suggest going if you can. Totally worth it.

But I don't know last night it was a little off our server did not bring us our drinks I had to go remind him to bring them as we were very hot as the air conditioning I think might have been out in the dining room. And we had to wait for a table for over 30 minutes and they were multiple tables open that we could have been seated at.

We were staying in the Embassy Suites so we ordered delivery. The pizzas were HUGE with lots of cheese. The crust it a puffy homemade hand tossed crust that is AMAZING. Food tasted really good and came with a big portion! I didn't get to order a pizza, but it looked and smelled great from the table across. There was only one waiter, so there was some wait. The main thing I didn't like was the prices. My spicy pasta plate with some small garlic bread and a drink cost me $20. That was just for myself! I would not recommend this place for a family unless you have plenty of money to spend. I don't recall seeing a kids menu.

The pizza dough is thicker than some others which stays softer and chewier. The seating area is not very large. They don't really have the space to seat a group larger than 8 and you might have to wait some time to get seated. Prices are reasonable and portions generous. This is a very authentic mom and pop pizza shop. It's got a great Bohemian atmosphere with unique and excellent pizza. My wife and I have had many romantic dinners here, including one by candlelight during a power failure! Our most recent visit was up to the usual standard, with great food and truly excellent service. Prepare for a long wait if you go at dinnertime, but it's well worth it!

Pretty decent hole-in-wall place. Had a pasta dish that was very, very good. It filled me quickly as I was stuffed after eating only half my plate. Would recommend. Their dishes and sandwiches start at about $10-$12 and go up. They don't have much for parking, but the good food more than makes up for it.

My wife and I are here for the first time tonight. It was a gorgeous evening so we sat outside (outside is self seating). She had the Paolo's Pasta Alfredo which we both thought was too salty and had too many sun dried tomatoes. Neither of us would have ordered it again. It didn't really have the traditional "Alfredo" flavor to it. I ordered the Lorenzo's Lasagna which turned out to be great comfort food. I'd definitely reorder that! Even though I loved the variety of meat in the dish, my only recommendation would be to scale the amount of meat back a tad. All in all, I'd give it 3 stars mostly because of the Alfredo. If we simply hadn't ordered that, our experience with have been 4.5 stars.

The pizza slices look ginormous. I chose to have the garlic chicken alfredo, which I've heard good things about, but I was not impressed. Its definitely processed...everything. the alfredo is not hand made nor is the chicken yet its priced like it is homemade. I would like to go back Nd try something else because it is s great location and atmosphere.

Googled pizza near me after I landed at the airport and this came up with good ratings. I can see why. Giant pizzas with generous toppings. Great atmosphere too. They also lay down paper on top of the tables that you can draw on. The child in me was beyond thrilled.

Always good food, higher quality. This time service was sketchy. Got my water right away, beer menu a minute or two later. However it was more than 15 before they came back to take my drink order and there was literally only one other couple there, the place was empty. We ended up going to the counter asking for someone to get the waiter so he would take our order. Once we got our food, they never came back to check in us until they gave us the check. Still giving them 4 stars, regardless of the service, as it's normally much better than what I recently experienced.

It's definitely on the more expensive end of pizza but it is well worth the extra cost. Fat Lorenzo's will always be one of my favorite places to get pizza. The food is always amazing, the service is much faster than I would expect given how busy they are, and the employees are always kind and patient. The seating is rather limited on weekends, but if you can snag a table the food and the art on the walls makes this place a wonderful eating experience.

Not the best place for supper small kids(under two) just because the is no kids menu(not overly needed as the portions are big) and the setting inside is tight and the booths are uncomfortable. We made a stop here recently, and it seems that this is truly a neighborhood gem. Not only do they have their own small parking lot, which is rare in Minneapolis, but this place is a pizzeria, Italian spot, and gelato shop all rolled into one. We didn't have to wait long for either a table, to order, and even our food arriving. My eyes must have been bigger than my stomach: since had a nicoise tuna sandwich, and a slice of pepperoni pizza. Now both menu items seem larger than life, and I had some lunch for the next day. Of course the slice of pizza was like having 2 or 3 small slices, and the sandwich, must of used something an extra big slice of texas toast. Next time I am here, I will just get one menu item, and some gelato.

Went with a few friends and ordered the omg sandwich, extra large chicken alfredo pizza, and baked rigatoni pasta (vegetarian). The sandwich and pizza were amazing (the pizza was enormous) but the pasta tasted like it was designed to have spicy Italian sausage in it, but that was simply omitted from the vegetarian version. Overall the food and experience were good but there was some room for improvement.

Went here for pizza. It was pretty good, but I can see where “Fat” comes from. The pizza had a very thick, very doughy crust. I think that’s what they’re going for, and they pull it off. Just be aware that this is a very heavy, carbo-load pizza. Not really my thing, but I know plenty of folks go for it. In my mind, this is the perfect pizza to eat before a motionless winter hibernation.

The food came out hot and it was a lot but not flavorful as Italian food should be. I ordered the pasta dish with the olives and sun dried tomatoes. The gelato was excellent.

Love this restaurant. Have eaten their pasta and remember liking it, but that was a long time ago and lots can change. However, ate there a week ago and ordered their artichoke dip appetizer and small Fats pizza. Their food was awesome. But I love melted mozzarella cheese and totally loaded pizzas, so it satisfied all my hitting points. Artichoke dip is more of a spread and comes with perfectly toasted bread to accompany it. They used lots of chopped artichoke hearts all smothered in a thick layer of melted cheese. Portion could have been a meal on it's own for one. The Fats pizza had lots of melted mozzarella cheese, pepperoni, sausage, onions, mushrooms, black and green olives on a hand tossed crust. My personal view on pizza is that there should be way more topping to crust ratio and the pizza thickness was definitely doubled just from the toppings on it...delish! And because I was celebrating my birthday, the waitress gave me a free scoop of gelato. I totally recommend their creme caramel, salty and creamy. However 1 pint of gelato is about $8, so kind of spendy. I visited there at 11am on a Saturday. There was no waiting and got seated immediately by a nice friendly waitress, and parking was easily found. Their lot is TINY, but there was a lot of open parking on the street.

Pizza was good..had the slims choice hubby had the meat stromboli..only critique I have is,while we appreciated the offer of a taste of gelato, I personally would have liked the option of a choice of flavors instead of having one,in this case cinnamon bun,thrust upon me. Amazing pizza! Best I’ve had in MN. The pizza I had was cooked well, great crust(not too thick or too thin)cheese and sauce ratio was good. Toppings were fresh and wonderfully delicious. We had pepperoni, onions and I believe feta cheese crumbles on top. Again, damn perfection! Hoagies are also pretty amazing. I got the garlic chicken hoagie and was in love. Bread was a beautiful French bread, chicken nicely seasoned, banana peppers and cheese...perfection. Came with marina sauce and a very small coleslaw(I didn’t eat that). My co-worker ordered a OMG and he said it was mind blowing. A star less for the sausage sandwich my other coworker ordered. The casing on the sausage was so thick, she could barely bite. She literally had to peel the sausage in order to eat it(it took her forever and was too grossed out to continue eating it). Other pal said his steak and cheese hoagie bread was hard. I’ve never dined in, only several to go orders, so cannot speak on location. I can however tell you, it’s a little on the expensive side. In my opinion, some items on the menu are worth every penny. I’d eat here a million more time, regardless of my coworkers issues.

When you walk in you will see an amazing gelato bar and pizzas getting prepared which reminds me of an old time deli. The seating is cozy and again an old feel. The lasanga is hearty and full of meats and veggies. The sauce is delicious and might be able to be shared if you are willing to split such a tasty treat. Service great. Highly recommend.

The service was sub-par. My Garlic Chicken Alfredo did not have Alfredo sauce. It was something else so I was not happy about that. I couldn’t even eat and enjoy my food. The food tasted ok, my pizzia was a bit cold. I dinned in so i dont see how that happened. Also i ordered the steak sandwich which was good and spicy. It is a very large sandwich. Its mostly mushroon onions and peppers with heaping cheese all over. That sandwich would have gotten a 4 1/2 star alone. Just that i had to get out of my seat to ask for a drink, and my pizzia was cold. I loved the painting on the walls. The old school wooden booths provide great privacy.

It's kinda small, but right across from the lake, and they have some outdoor tables, so that's where we sat. My friend had the steak sandwich, which she said is a specialty, and it looked amazing! She said it tasted as good as it looked! I had shrimp alfredo. It could have had more shrimp, but the alfredo sauce was delicious and plentiful! To finish things off we had some of their gelato, which would have been worth going there for just for that! We had half Panacotto, I believe, and half Pistacchio...fun and so yummy!!

This is my favorite pizza in Minnesota. Maybe its because I grew up with it or maybe because it tastes really good. It is a great place to eat but very small and always crowded. There are a few tables outside that offer a bit more space. The pizza dough is very light and tasty and the toppings are fresh. They make each pizza by hand and you can absolutely tell. I should note that the original spot is in Minneapolis by lake Nokomis and they have a spot they opened a few years ago in a VFW in Bloomington. The Bloomington location basically uses the VFW kitchen to cook the pizza and they do not have a dine in area that I noticed, unless it is inside the VFW. I have gotten take out pizza from here and it does taste the same but the atmosphere is completely different.

Fat Lorenzo's is easily one of the best kept secrets in Minneapolis. The pizzas, quite simply, are delicious. With a thin, malleable crust that fuses the best of New York style pizza with a unique flair and a flavorful (and thankfully less than sugar-filled) sauce, there's simply no comparable pizza in the state or region. For all it's wonderful qualities that solidify Fat Lorenzo's as the place to go for traditional pizza, the restaurant offers little in the way of variety. If experimental pizza is what you're searching for, go to Pizza Luce and Pizzeria Lola. If you want a high quality pizza in a great dive, replete with fat putti floating about the clouds with vegetables, I highly recommend Fat Lorenzo's.

Pizza is one of the best in town - if you are looking for New York style large slices with well-proportioned cheese to sauce ratio. Sauce is on the fresher side. Good tomato flavor. Not an over-cooked canned type of sauce. Sausage is very tasty, just spicy enough, but not too spicy. Pepperoni is on point as well. Crust is lightly yeasty. Always browned well. Delicate in a way that for a regular medium thikness of crust. It is substantial, but not too bready. Delicious homemade gelato made on site as well. Don't pass that up.

Amazing gelato and great thin crust pizza. Fat Lorenzo's is a great spot for pizza, hoagies and gelato. They have 5 outside tables with a good view of the park and lake. It's across the street from Lake Nokomis so you can walk around the lake to settle your stomach when you just have to eat one more piece. It's a small place. They really only have one table that seats a group larger than four people. If the place is packed and weather is nice, take the food to the park for a picnic.

Have one of the best pepperoni pizza slices in my opinion. Great service, waiters are nice, great atmosphere, many options to choose from in the menu.

LOVE LOVE Their food, except last time I got the. 'O MIO DIO' and I asked if it was spicy, and the kid told me not that spicy. I had to unfortunately throw it away.... Too Spicy !!!! But all the other food and pizza is DELICIOUS !!!! I will be back ... ..

I'm not sure how many times we have gone here by now, it is definitely a go-to! Try their "Alfrenzo" pizza and amazing artichoke dip. Great servers make for a friendly environment. They also make delicious gelato at the front!

When I'm in the mood for some artery clogging italian goodness, this place is just awesome. I have yet to try something here that wasn't amazing. Personal favorite is the Dio Mio sandwich.....fork and napkins recommended ;)

Gift certificate to use. Fantastic food! Our guest was sitting with us but he was extremely inappropriate. Horrible manners. The staff didn't miss a beat, and didn't treat him as rudely as I did. Very professional and knowledgeable staff.

Lasagna was different from what I'm used to; sausage yes but ham? Hmmmmm but when take out is the only option....No Utensils! Huge oversight! Not paying attention...smh

I might be biased since it's so close to me but I love this place! Great pizza with a bready crust and great flavors. The hoagies and pasta are also great. If you're walking around Lake Nokomis, stop in for gelato!

If you want the usual ordinary bland Italian imitation food, head on down to the olive garden. If you want amazing flavorful food that provides birth control, (because you eat so much you don't want anyone on top of you) then stop at Fat Lorenzo's. The waitress Jenna, was sweet, genuine, and adorable. She gave great suggestions and never let our drinks run out. The food came out fast and still piping hot. The artichoke dip is the kind of thing dreams are made of. And the "Oh Dio Mio" sandwich will change your life. Quality great tasting components make up amazing dishes that are second to no other restaurant I have been to. They have some lighter side options such as salads and such but after walking the mall of america all day we needed to make up some ground calorie wise. So impressed with this place I can't say enough. If you leave here hungry its your fault.

Piiiiiizzzzaaaa. A treat every time! The pizza and gelato are AWESOME! Go big or go home! Worth the wait on a busy day. The Alfrenzo and the Carne Pazza are our favorites :D I will say that trying to get a party greater than 4 can be a pain. Call ahead for that.

My wife three year old and I shared AA bowl of spaghetti and meatballs and had the cheese bread for an appetizer. It was a light dinner that fill this all. Great service and friendly Cooks.
