Reviews of Farmers Kitchen + Bar

The name of the place is NAUTICAL BOWL. and it is a fantastic place. They have frozen fruit sorbet and they have almost anything to put on it from fruits, candies, peanut butter and more. These bowls make great desserts and even meals. These are called super food bowls. Then there are the servers are the greatest you will love this place. You create your own bowl 🥣!

A great new spot to try out! All locally grown and produced menu items! we tried the waldorf wild rice salad, a shareable platter with cheese and crackers(!!!!) and had a few different coffee drinks (iced latte, mocha latte and maple cream cold brew!) - overall an excellent spot to try out- we will be back!! also- the presentation 10/10! unfortunately we were already a few bites in before we thought to take some pictures! soon they plan to open for full breakfast and dinner i believe as well! support this up and coming business- you’ll feel extra good knowing you are supporting all local vendors as well! 10/10

Great option for Sunday brunch with many tables available. Loved the bright space. Very quick service at the ordering counter. The bowls and coffee were incredible!
Chris Valenty
A fun spot for brunch with plenty of outdoor seating. Enjoyed the sunrise hash & pancakes, very fresh ingredients and homemade taste. Also seems like a nice spot to enjoy a cup of
coffee!

I love everything here. Breakfast. Lunch. Dinner. Coffee. Snacks. My favorite cookie - the combine cookie. Pancakes were great - didn’t feel heavy AF like usual cakes. Love the chicken salad too. Everything’s fresh and delish.
Amanda Schultz
Great food and service! We got the bison wild rice meatballs (would go back just for those!), cheese plate, and Jo Jo potatoes.

We came here for brunch and ordered the sunrise hash and the harvest bowl. Both are amazing. The roasted beef in the sunrise hash is tender and flavourful. Best I ever had! The harvest bowl is a vegan health option, it’s light and filling. It’s next to a farmers market that opens on Saturdays. It’s lovely. Definitely recommend this place.

Other than the ambience, I love this place. If it's nice enough to sit outdoors do so! The interior seating is a little noisy but it goes with the vibe in the neighborhood. Next door to the Guthrie and a block or so from Gold Medal Park. I love their bakery goods as well as their breakfasts and last time I had their Waldorf Wild Rice Salad and it was excellent.

Stopped by for a quiz bite. Service was excellent, the food almost came quicker than I could sit down! Had a sandwich the lit up my taste buds, so fresh & so good. Will be back here for sure. What a great edition to the pocket of restaurants in this area.

This spot is new! Delightful food. The harvest salad is epic, with grilled zucchini, candied pepitas, onions, and grilled peppers. Also really appreciate the lavender latte on the menu! I bet this place will have great waffles soon when they launch the breakfast menu.
Also pictured are the Walleye tots and the grilled cheese with smoked ham. Whatever pepper jam they have on that grilled cheese is really delicious.

I went there on a Wednesday afternoon around 1:30 p.m. with several colleagues. Ate outside in the patio. I ordered the Ma's roast beef sandwich with chips and horseradish sauce and pickles. The food was delicious. Total price was $22 with $3 as an automatic service charge. Sitting outside we were told we could not move the tables past a certain point and so unfortunately we had to sit in the sun. There was no shade coverage and I wish the management had allowed us to move the tables closer into the sun. Food is terrific but price is a little high, partially due to the service charge. The only service I received was the delivery of the food.

The food is great, fresh, nicely served. That said, if a person is new to the place, one has no idea what to do when one walks in. There is no hostess, there is no person who asks you what you want, no one to direct you to your reserved table. I have a feeling that eating inside, which we did, is more noisy than sitting outside and listening to the street traffic. It was so noisy that the four of us could not hear each other. In short, it is not User-friendly for a first timer. And I don’t think it quite has its own identity: is it a short order place? Or a place to dine? I would go back, but in the middle of the day when it has to be less noisy. This restaurant should have a rating of four, but the ambience is a downer.

Absolutely loved my meal here. Came for dinner, and I had the seasonal bruschetta (incredible), wild rice soup (delicious), and raspberry shortcake (exquisite). Lovely service, felt very looked after, and there's a very strong likelihood I'll be back for breakfast, lunch, and dinner during my stay!
Lauren Gorjanc
We have breakfast, lunch and dinner here a lot. Highly recommend the farmers breakfast, hash, griddle cakes, veggie sandwich, bison meatballs. The little cafe for pastries and a seasonal coffee drink is fun to grab on the go. They are usually busy around the time the Gutherie has a show so make sure to make a reservation. :)

Staff was friendly and service was good. However, most of the prominent items on the menu were out. I guess that's only to be expected? What I ended up having was acceptable.
I would encourage anyone coming here to not look ahead at the menu, so you cannot be disappointed.

Great and Friendly service. Good coffee, good sweets. The Bison Meatballs are soooo good! The Crispy Pork Schnitzel Sandwich is decent. Raspberry Buckle is really good.
Kim Johnson
Very friendly place. Just had the best salad! Wild Rice Waldorf Salad. So good! And gluten free.

Went for brunch on a Saturday at 11:15 before attending a Guthrie Theatre performance at 1:00. It was crowded but Max the manager made sure to determine who needed seating upon arrival at the counter where orders are taken and found us a table outside where our Mill City Harvest sandwiches arrived 10-15 minutes later. Food was delicious with eggs done perfectly and bacon extra crispy. A reviewer who said "hearty but not heavy" nailed it. Highly recommend and can't wait to return to try the walleye or pork schnitzel sandwiches. Thanks again, Max!! See you soon.

Great downtown spot for breakfast and coffee. All of the employees are great as well! My only concern is that they don’t allow tips to be added when paying with card - I believe that is very unfair to the employees and needs to change, I hope they change it soon so we continue to do business with this establishment. I’m only giving 4 stars, I’ll change to 5 when We can tip via card 😁

We were excited to try their farm-to-table offerings but left feeling underwhelmed. We had a salad, the wild rice soup, schnitzel sandwhich, cocktail, and 2 desserts. Salad was okay, soup tasted a bit sour, and the biscuits in the dessert were too salty. Nothing was extremely bad, it just didn't impress us, especially at that price point. Probably won't be back for dinner. Service was just okay, not rude, but not welcoming either. They make a fantastic peanut butter rice Krispy bar though that's worth stopping by for.
Gari Garrity
Delicious well prepared breakfast sandwich with vinaigrette laced greens, iced latte, mimosa! Do not miss this place🤤
Ashley Youngs
A small space with great employees, drinks food and atmosphere. They have outdoor seating and are located right next to the Guthrie. I would definitely recommend stopping by.

Me and my family from California, and our experience here was freaking awesome, Mark treated us so well, super nice the environment at this establishment was awesome, please come when your in town!! Great job here.

Fantastic brunch experience as the farmers hash and a latte was exactly what the doctor ordered after a night out. Interested in coming back for dinner sometime as the options seem pretty well rounded. For brunch, I'd love to see them expand to other unique options as well like french toast or waffles as I can only imagine how good their recipes would be give the high quality of ingredients.

Amazing food! Harvest bowl was fantastic. Hearty but not heavy. Different flavors and textures meld together. Perfectly poached eggs. You can tell a lot about the chefs and cooks by looking at and eating eggs prepared in different ways...they know what they're doing here! Coffee could be better, but that's okay. The amazing food was surely front and center. Also, do yourself a favor and get their combine cookie.

I've visited Farmer's Kitchen + Bar almost weekly since they opened. I've had breakfast, brunch, lunch and it is a regular coffee spot for me. The food is delicious (don't forget about the pastries!). It is counter service with delivery of food + drinks to your table when dining in. I also take advantage of the market for eggs or bread. They are a welcome addition to the neighborhood.
Anna Carter
The Shore Lunch (Walleye sandwich) was delicious! So glad we happened upon this new spot for lunch, we were impressed.
Ernestina Okamoto
We stopped here on the spur of the moment and were not disappointed. Food was wonderful and the employee's very nice. Definitely plan on returning.

The Farmers Union is my favorite place to get coffee at the State Fair, so I was eager to try out the new coffee shop/bar/restaurant. Staff was awesome and so was the coffee! (State Fair Maple Cream Nitro) Looking forward to visiting again in better weather for a leisurely lunch.

Food is 5 star, but there are definitely some kinks with online ordering and curbside pickup. The options for ordering online drinks like chai and hot chocolate are incorrect; you can choose options that don't exist, and then you have to go inside and wait to get it corrected and made because they do not contact you to tell you there was a problem and find out what you want to do before you get there. There are also inconsistencies about what is listed as out of stock / unavailable and what is actually there in the store. There is not a free place to park for curbside pickup. The number they tell you to call when you arrive for curbside pickup is incorrect, so you have to go inside anyway. That aside, the walleye sandwich was just about the best thing I'd ever tasted. The chocolate chip and cherry cookies were delightful (great texture and taste), and the dark hot chocolate was lovely. Will eat here again and hope they get the kinks worked out!

This place was a suggestion by our neighbor as a new place to check out for dinner and everything we ordered was so good! Ingredients were fresh, delicious, and the staff was really attentive! Great place for all, take a date, friends , or family! Will be back to try their coffee and breakfast !!
Rick Ferraro
We explored the menu, Walleye tots, Cheese Curds, Sandwiches, Hamburger and of course a couple of dessert items! Enjoyed everything, courteous staff and nice coffee bar too! Great concept we are proud to support, will be back!
Douglas Whiteside
Great food, terrific location, and nice setting! Hard to beat!
Jodi Lindsey
Great atmosphere, tasty food.
Ben Hayle
The food was pretty good but the Easter brunch service was not great. You could tell that this place normally only does counter service.
Clay Sletta
Your typical espresso bar; I got delicious Miel Latte. Great location, especially if you’re going to the Guthrie.
Larry Klueh
Just what is needed before the Guthrie! (Evenings require reservations before a play.)
Marian Rubenfeld
A real find of a place with excellent food and excellent prices.
Mackenzie Dolo-Tolstoy
Perfect for before a Guthrie performance, a bit pricey.
Jennifer Brown
Friendly fast service my trout was fantastic. I wasn't a huge fan of the wildlife's peloff it was rather mushy and bland but everything else was good
