One of my favorite places because they never disappoint! I’ve been here multiple times over the years and I swear each visit is better then the last. The best part? Service is always excellent. The restaurant is clean and the food is divine. This recent visit, I decided to try the fish tacos and were sad when they were gone. I know the chicken wings are also a staple at this place and highly recommend them. The worst part? Prices can be a tad high for some but if you want a great meal, it’s worth the cost.

Stop with some coworkers for happy hour. The appetizers and beer were good. I enjoy the Crostini. The beef was flavorful and the raspberry honey sauce was great. Would like to try dinner sometime.

Love the ambiance! You can smell the wood smoke from the fires. They have the rotisserie visible from the tables. Food is top notch. The chicken was good and the brussel sprouts were amazing.

We stopped by for appetizers and a cocktail while we were in the area. The food was good although the appetizer menu felt a little limited. The cocktails were very good and the service was outstanding. We really enjoyed the place overall and will stop back again.

My party had the chips and guac appetizer. I had the walleye with mashed potatoes and green beans. For dessert I had the Nirvana cake. Overall everything was good but nothing was amazing.

I've been going to the Doolittles restaurants since they were the air cafes. The wood fire grills are an awesome place to take your family or to have a nice client conversation. The food is always done well, the service is always great and the atmosphere is lively without being obnoxious or loud. My current favorite meal is the hangar steak. The steak is grilled to perfection, the potatoes and spinach are done perfect and it's enough to be full but not so much you accidentally over eat. I can bring my 8yo daughter and she can find several things on the menu that fit her limited culinary adventure limit and I can eat an adult meal that really hits the spot. If you're looking for a safe, well rounded and comfortable place to enjoy a lunch or dinner, the Doolittles restaurants won't disappoint. I have frequented the Golden Valley and Eagan locations and have never had bad experiences, ever.

The food is always delicious, but beside from the food, today’s experience was totally disappointed. It look a while to get water and our hot drinks. I ordered soup and salad and my husband ordered pork tenderloin, it was order prior to a large group that arrived, it took about an hour, this happened right after we talked with a manager ( who never came back to check in). After our meal we wanted dessert but the waitress said it will take 15 plus minutes to get it , so we passed. We asked for the bill, that took a while and waited again for the return of the bill processed. The waitress apologized for the long wait and said it was due to the large group(she was not their server) , but there were a group of 4 that arrived after us , that got their drinks and food in reasonable time.

I would have rated this place a little higher but they were two issues I had with Doolittles. One, there were only two vegetarian options on the entire menu; I wish they we're more inclusive to people with different dietary needs. The second issue I had was I was sitting at the end of a table and the service staff kept bumping into me and my purse that I had hanging on my chair (which was on the corner that was closer to middle of the table). It is not a very large purse, so I feel like the table spacing could be better for it was not a fun experience getting bumped into every time they would walk by.

Anything on the menu with their signature rotisserie chicken will be good. Wings are the best. Pasta was pretty good- needed salt though. Bartenders were hustling and doing s great job.

My side salad was delicious, as was the Wild Rice soup. 1/4 chicken and 1/2 rack of ribs was solid ten. The restaurant had run out of steak???? What is that all about, really???!! My daughter opted for the Prime Rib sandwich. Totally disappointing, "shaved meat". Server was fabulous

We usually love Doolittles, but past few times we’ve been it’s just been “meh”. Recently my husband and I got the Parmesan crusted walleye and the roasted pear and chicken salad. The fish dinner was great! Love the mashed potatoes. However my salad was disappointing, with dry chicken and pears that were not ripe. Skip out on the molten nirvana dessert, sadly was flavorless. Our server was really sweet and attentive though!

Been here many times for excellent ribs, however the last visit on 2/2/2023, the ribs were mediocre at best. Very disappointed after driving 60 miles. I brought most of the rack back to share with friends, who all agreed they weren't as exceptional as they have been in the past. I'll give them one more try and update this review accordingly.

Just went for the first time with my two little kids, who after having the molten chocolate cake, declared this the “best restaurant ever”. The food was great and waitstaff was super friendly. Highly recommend!

This was a great place to eat but they put us by the door and it was too cold there for us. They also wouldn't wait for my bf to get in from parking the car before they sat me. Then when he came in he didn't know where I was. She could've waited a minute like I asked.

Got an opportunity to enjoy this restaurant, just recently and was pleasantly surprised!! I had their wings, amazing wings! I have gone out many times looking for the best wings, in the twin cities and this place has my vote for BEST WINGS IN THE TWIN CITIES. I enjoy finding real gems, great food, great service, quaint places with a real knack for understanding the restaurant business. Their “Old fashion “ I had 3 times and each one, was made just as excellent as the last one 👌🏼 Hands down a great place to visit

Went to the Golden Valley location, my first time to a Doolittle's and it won't be the last. Tried the bacon and smoked cheddar burger and now that's what I'm going to be going back for. Best burger I have had in a really long time.

my grandma suggested Doolittles to me today she said she has gone there a couple of times specifically the other day she stopped just to grab the chicken Alfredo. we were going to go to red lobster sorry lobster not sorry had the sauté shrimp Alfredo oh my gosh!!! so much better than red lobster nit even kidding. the waiter was super cool to I was laughing he was laughing super funny made me and my grandma very comfortable 😄 so thank you dood 😊 I highly recommend this place to anyone and everyone who is looking for something new especially if you love chicken they have rotisserie chicken going around in a metal rotisserie in the wood burning fireplace!!! never seen anything like it at any restaurant I've been to well not in minnesota.

Wednesday night we were seated right away. The waitress was friendly and was knowledgeable regarding the menu. The chef was accommodating to my special request. The clean up staff was quite polite and professional upon clearing our plates. The food was scrumptious.

Came here for a business lunch. I wasn't paying but the prices seemed reasonable for the very good food and service. I live close to the Eagan location so I don't know if I'll be back to Golden Valley any time soon but I will definitely have Doolittle's again sometime. Excellent meal.

Wonderful food and experience! Made a reservation for Valentine's day about a week in advance and had no problems getting a time slot. I ordered the spinach artichoke dip and starter Cesar salad for my meal. My boyfriend ordered the prime rib french dip with fries. It was all so good! For dessert we ordered the mudslide pie and that of course was our favorite item. The service was great and we will be going back soon.

Love this place. Great guest service - front of house knows what they are doing. Sit at the bar and wait for a table. You will be glad you did. Have been here a dozen times over the past few years and always pleased. Great atmosphere, comfortable and intimate. Did you know they have a vegetarian menu? Ask your server. Salads, flatbreads, starters, desserts - all top notch. Great cocktails, too. Do you and your guests a favor - make your way to Doolittle's and enjoy a marvelous time!

Excellent food and service. The pork chop was cooked perfectly, the rizotto amazing. Duck breast serving was very small but flavorful. Drinks and cream brulee were also good.

Pleasant atmosphere, very warm. I had the spit roasted chicken, and the misses had rotisserie chicken sandwich. The chicken is fantastic, great flavor, and fell off the bone. The sandwich was filled with huge pieces of chicken. Overall it was a wonderful meal albeit a little slow on the serving front. We will definitely put this in our dining rotation!

Great dining experience. Staff was very friendly, knowledgeable, and accommodating. The food was fantastic. We had the Rib and Chicken combo and a burger. Both plates were very tasty and we'd definitely order both again. The wings we had as an appetizer were exceptional! The cocktails on happy hour were some of the best drink deals we've encountered. Half price for quality, unique, hand mixed cocktails is unbeatable. Definitely recommend this place to any in the area if you're looking for quality food and a great environment. We will be back!

Got a gin and tonic. Was a little weak. Ordered the fish tacos. Were cold but crispy. Prices were a little high but atmosphere was pleasant. Also got the gaucho burger was very moist and cooked to perfection.

It was fine/average overall. The cavatappi pasta was decent but nothing interesting there for flavor. The chicken was also plain and the ribs were tender and tasted great. Service was polite and maybe a little quick to try to turn the table.

Stopped in for lunch. Service was fast, waitress was very nice and attentive. Ordered calamari for appetizer and had to return it for the breading was really oily and soggy. The breading would fall off as you grabbed it. The burgers were cooked well and the rest of the lunch experience went well. The food is very ordinary and lacks a reason to be spendy. Pretty spendy to pay for their play on woodfire cooking. I dont see the reason to push the price for simply plates most restaurants serve.

Upon arrival we were told a 25-30 minute wait time, we agreed and were seated in the foyer. I don't think 8 minutes went by and a table became available. Waitress was very friendly but all staff are masked so you can't see their faces. The menu has limited choices(only one page) but the bar is fully stocked. Chicken Wild Rice soup is less expensive when ordered with an entree. Pretty bland. The steak, carrots and potatoes were very tasty. Our server returned several times with free Shirley Temple refills. Kitchen staff delivered our meals. We will be back.

The food was pretty good, I had the French dip the fries were good, the sandwich was a little underwhelming. The artichoke dip was great! Good tap beer selection and wine list. Extensive cocktail list. The atmosphere was nice, but it got quite busy and crowded. If you want to avoid that, go in off hours.

Ordered black and bleu burger and it was great. My friend and I both ordered fries with our meal and they gimped us. Barely any fries at all. When you're paying almost 15$ for a burger we expect to get a decent amount of side.

When you walk in the door, the aroma of the woodfire grill has your mouth watering instantly. The staff are friendly and the food is phenomenal - I had the rotisserie chicken Cobb salad and my fiance had the black and bleu burger. Very impressed with the flavors and freshness. We will be returning soon :)

I really love this restaurant! The inside has a very warm and welcoming atmosphere. The rotisserie fire is a bonus that adds that great smokey smell inside and out! They have a really cute patio too that is a great addition to summer dining. They have two Happy Hour's during the week. One from 3-6p, and another that starts at 9p. I recently had the Spinach & Artichoke appetizer and it was delicious! Great service too. It's a good idea to call ahead to make a reservation to ensure a spot at busy times!

I’d forgotten how great Doolittles is. the chicken roasting over a wood fire is the first & last thing you smell as you arrive & leave. The prices are on the higher side but the quality of the food and the quick service is worth it. The ribeye was juicy and perfectly cooked.

A bit pricey as a student (average dish is ~$14), but 100% worth it in my opinion. The burgers were fantastic without being greasy, the fries are amazing, and the desserts are fantastic! Our waitress was attentive, nice, and drink refills were brought out at the perfect time. I hope to come back again when I'm in town. Would definitely recommend!

I was unimpressed. The food was tasty - no argument there. It felt like the server was rushing us to turn over the table. It felt like the plate was too big for my meal. I had a chicken sandwich and potatoes and they barely covered half the plate. I felt like I didn't get my monies worth. Our other meal was pasta and it was very watery with a small portion of chicken. I won't be back anytime soon.

We stopped in for a couple late night cocktails, were promptly greeted and brought to our table. Our server came over pretty quickly and took our order. Everything was fast and the staff seemed happy to be there. Our drinks were on happy hour, which made them very inexpensive, to our surprise. We'll be back for food and dessert soon.

Pretty good for the most part. I got the ribs and chicken combo. Ribs were very "meh" (my ribs on the home smoker are much better so I was sad to pay for them here) but the chicken was phenomenal. Also got chicken wings and artichoke dip for apps, both good.

We made reservations for Valentines Day with the anticipation for their great ribs. We ordered our wine and then found out that they were out of ribs :( I then ordered a sirloin steak that, to me, did not taste good. Management seemed to really care about our experience and even comped both of our meals which they did not have to do because the Prime Rib French Dip we also ordered was very good. I have been here multiple times and this was the first time that my experience was not the best but I think it was just an off night. I plan on coming back! Edit to 5 stars: I went back multiple times and it's great

Had lunch with friends. I had the Rubin, chicken tortilla soup. My husband had fish tacos and a steak bite salas on toasted bread. The fish Tacos weren't good, the steak bites with the saute Arugula was fantastic. Our server Skott was great also. He kept smiles on our faces.

Let me preface this with how amazing doolittles is. This was not their night. The normally phenomenal luxardo old fashioned was missing something/off. 1st time ever. Also empty water glass at end of the table never got refilled even when waitress noticed. The Buffalo wings and walleye fingers were as good as ever though. Sad because we were regulars here only 1.5 years ago. Glad the food was still good though. Please still visit this place

It feels a little overpriced, but the atmosphere is beautiful. It feels like a cross between a casual restaurant and an upscale one. The spinach artichoke dip and blueberry mojitos were phenomenal.

Oh my gosh, I love this place. I have loved it for years. I haven't been in this part of town in forever, but I'm pleased to report that it's just as great now as it was then. Great service, wonderful food and fun drinks. Can't rave enough about the Chicken and Cranberry salad. I generally disagree with a salad as a meal, but this one is so delightful that I can't help myself.

I brought my family that was visiting from Vegas in for dinner and the service was good but the food is another story. Usually the food here is awesome and that's why I brought them here as I am a regular. Last night the food was off! I don't know if they have new cooks or what! My wings were burnt and the buffalo sauce was off! My uncle's wings weren't good either. The ribs and chicken were very dry also! The carrots were under steamed and hard! We sent them back and they still came back crunchy and hard! This is not the food I am use to at Doolittles!

My honest opinion is overall just average. The host girls are not very professional. But the host girls would not make me dislike the restaurant but the food would. Did not like my sandwich or tacos. Food tasted old and just off and frozen. Gauc was good. Bread and drinks good. Service was just fair. Never was checked on. Never asked if we wanted refills. Lots of flys outside made it hard to enjoy the patio. Not ready to come back soon.

Wings and spinach artichoke dip were great. The wings are smoky, tender, well seasoned and fully intact, not cut into segments which is a big plus for me. Late night happy hour was a nice surprise with half off drinks & apps. I would recommend this Doolittles and our server was good.

Have been here many times. Anything out of their wood fire is great! The buffalo chicken are so good. A buffalo dry rub instead of a traditional sauce is used and brobably 1 of ,if not the the best wings I've ever had. Nice atmosphere. Not a cheap place to eat but also not super expensive either. 2 can eat great for under $50. Almost don't want to post this because I don't want 1 of my regular spots to get too busy lol

I really like this place and have gone often. It’s good, classic American food and a solid wine list. I was a little disappointed recently to get a to go order after having drinks and apps there to find my carrot side order was green beans and my bowl of wild rice soup was barely a cup. I called about the errors and I was polite, but got only an apology in return. Gee, maybe offer to let me pick up the bowl of soup I paid for, a coupon, something? Customer service has taken a nosedive everywhere.

Went for a quick lunch and even though they were dead at 3pm the food was perfect... The wings were so so so on point. The bartender lady mixed me up a hell of a margarita too. Best of all we didn't know it was happy hour and it was cheaper than the menu said it was gonna be. Its a bit pricey, but they aren't cutting any corners. So good.

Went out here for a birthday meal. The food was better than I expected and the service was great. I had the ribs and chicken and my friend had the lamb shank. Both were juicy and tasty. I hate it when meat is too dry. I also had creme brulee for dessert and it was a very nice sized portion. I can't help but love breaking the sugar glaze on the top. The staff was great and attentive. The good service definitely added to the overall experience. I would go here again. I know they are known for their giant rotisserie wings.

Pretty much the definition of average. I had the rotisserie chicken which was pretty good. Not amazing and they don't have mashed potatoes. Just a very limited choice of sides to choose from. My friend had "Buffalo" wings. They had literally no sauce or flavor. Just plain wings that had been cooked. We honestly thought they had just forgot to put any sauce on them(not the case) The chicken Alfredo also was like plain buttered noodles. No sauce or flavor. The waitress was average. When we asked if the wings were actually Buffalo wings she just said "yep". So we just ordered a side of Buffalo sauce and a side of actual Alfredo sauce. Sorry, but this place doesn't do anything worth a return visit. We were a group of four and everyone felt the same. I honestly wish I could give it a 2.5 star.

Had an excellent burger here. Tasted like someone made it on their grill at home and knew what they were doing. Definitely going to go here again, very reasonable prices, good service, and watching the spit turn is weirdly entertaining. Also recently tried the fish tacos for the first and they were really good, like among some of the best fish taco's I've had to date, like I'll be going back there just to get the fish tacos several more times before I can move on to something else on the menu.

Happy hour appetizers the best. Amazing wood burning open flame rotisserie roasted chicken. Some day we will have to try their ribs. Service is excellent, rarely less than the best. If there is any problem, manager visits the table and makes it right. Awesome place to relax and reset. Something not usually referred to in restaurant posts is the excellent tasting water and ice. Absolutely no freezer taste to the ice. Makes their fountain sodas the best I think I have ever tasted. It must be the same water that's used for bar drinks. I wish they had 1919 root beer on tap.

A great atmosphere for work parties, birthday gatherings, family outings. They specialize in bbq chicken, ribs, and burgers. Maybe not so much other things. Salad and appetizers were amazing, especially the spinach and artichoke dip. Staff was amazing! Our server was hilarious, on top of drinks, helpful, friendly, everything that makes a perfect server. The only reason I took off a star was because the non specialized food wasn't the greatest. Clean restaurant. Great place.

One of my go-to appetizers is the Parmesan Artichoke Dip. It is fantastic! This time, however, the grilled crostini were under-grilled so it was hard to keep the dip on the bread. The dish lacked the normal crispness you usually get when the crostini is grilled properly. Everything else was great, including our very nice waitress.

Jackie was our server, she could almost rattle off the menu by heart, not once did we wait very long for anything, including service with a smile. She offered a fresh cup of coffee if I wanted over a warm up. This may not sound like much, but only the highest class of establishments ever do this. OK this review is past due! 1. My now husband and I LOVE this place. The service is always spot and and SUPER friendly. I cant have dairy and they are very accommodating. The food is superb! 2. I had my bridal shower at Doolittles last summer. We were able to secure a room free of charge. The service was above and beyond! They let us stay in the room even after we went over out time that it was booked. They were so gracious. They even helped carry the gifts out. LOVE this place and would HIGHLY recommend it to all!

I love good wings and seeing all the reviews about their wings I had to see for myself. For me the wings were disappointing. There was no wow factor to the wings. The wing itself was average but their buffalo sauce ruined the wings. Sauce was not spicy and it had a sweet taste. Since I can’t have sugar the server told me the sauce did not have any sweeteners I will find out soon when I take my blood sugar reading. Good service

My SO and I frequent this restaurant often because it’s magical every time. The smell and warmth of the wood fire grill immediately greet you and the kind servers seat you with a smile. I enjoy eating the wings, two orders actually (to share), and boy are they juicy and delicious, every time. They’re never burnt but instead smoked and charred perfectly. Doolittle's is seriously delicious. We took my husband here for his birthday and it was such a wonderful experience. We had a variety of dishes ranging from a Cobb salad, to ribs, to chicken, to two different cuts of steak, and lemon cheesecake as well as creme brulee for dessert. Their food was absolutely fantastic! The service was friendly and helpful. Cheyenne was just wonderful. The bathrooms were very clean and tidy. The decor throughout was very warm and inviting. quite lovely all around. This restaurant is definitely worth the experience.

Nice quiet place to grab a bite. We were smart enough to come early for lunch, because the place is always busy. Because my lunch partner has some respiratory issues, he asked to be moved away from the chicken smoker, which was going full bore. We got a better table without complaint. Their lunch special was a burger with marinated portabella mushrooms, carmelized onions, cheese and a wonderful mustard. It was terrific. I have also been in there for dinner and they simply don't have a bad choice in their menu.

I hadn't been to Doolittle's for a long time and much preferred the old aviation theme and more sandwich focus. Limited menu selection is good for current conditions but it seemed a bit pricey and hard to find something which was appealing. A cute little patio wraps around the building, but there was no night time lighting and staff didn't seem to care that it was pitch dark. There's also a cute large tent for outside dining.

Being able to see 8-20 chickens roasting over a wood fire not only smells wonderful, but creates an amazing atmosphere. Very comfortable seats, consistently great staff, and out of this world food make this a real treat to stop at. They have a broad menu - once had a lamb burger with mint jelly and jalapeno goat cheese. It may have been the best burger I've ever had! Sadly, it was a fleeting special, and I haven't seen it show up again. Steaks are great, and good wine selection to boot. :)

Oh my! This is certainly one of the best places to eat. You simply have to try the BBQ chicken. The setting is nice and the food is simply wonderful! I have tried many choices on the menu and I have yet to have something that wasn’t absolutely mouth watering. The smell of the wood fire adds to the experience. Covid precautions done well. Food menu is done via smart phone. Limited menu options from previous covid menu, but adequate. We wanted to support our local restaurant by ordering curbside to go. I ordered the Parmesan crusted walleye which was great. However, my husband’s fettuccini Alfredo didn’t meet his expectations. It was dry and a smaller portion than usual. Doolittles will have to do better before we reorder. There are lots of local restaurants that we will continue to support.

Great vegan options and gluten free options ... whole vegetarian menu. Tasted bro-in-laws fire grilled barbecue chicken and it was moist and very tasty. Ate the beet salad with nuts and blue cheese. Piquant dressing. Sat outside and though kind of close to road, the trees and plants made it feel very garden-y and sequestered. No GF beer but had a nice cider that was summery and fruity. Forget Applebee’s. If your looking for chicken made right head on over this way. The kids meal is by far the best I’ve ever seen. First off I love the Doolittles chain and pretty much all of their locations across the Twin Cities. The flavor that gets in their food from the woodfire is stupendous. I have to call that out because I did need to knock a star off for the super awkward greeting my group got at this location. She didn't say hi, she didn't say anything to us we just stood there for about 3 minutes until we finally got her to say something. Then she just grabbed menus and walked away without even confirming how many in our party or anything. I feel like this was probably a one off and given that it was early in the day on a Saturday probably not their A game greeter, but it was still worth mentioning. The service was a little slow but the food was still amazing so I kept the review up at 4 stars despite a few hiccups.

Haha, Laura's post, the molten cake didn't ooze? Sheesh. Listen folks this place is known for one thing and they do it very well, chicken. Those birds are seasoned and slow roastin all day long. Get the chicken wings and the chicken sandwich. 11.2.17, I went against my own advise above and ordered the seafood gumbo due to the waiters recommendation. I was starving so I ordered it. 20 bucks and it was like 5 mushy dried up mussels, 2 baby frozen shrimp and some thawed out swordfish. The sauce sucked as well. Just listen to my advise above and don't be dumb like me.

Doolittles is known for their roasted chicken and ribs. They have an open fire for you to watch the chickens roasting right when you walk in. I typically get the roasted chicken dinner (and would recommend it), and my friends normally get the chicken sandwich. They swear it's the best chicken sandwich they have ever had. Doolittles did have a full bar with a quiet surprisingly large wine list. Overall, I would recommend this place to others.

There are not many restaurant choices in Golden Valley. Doolittle's is probably pick-of-the-litter. Has a bit of a clubby atmosphere, which I enjoy. Staff remembers me, maybe I go there too much? The menu changes seasonally, so be prepared to find a new favorite appetizer or entree throughout the year. Doolittle's has a modest wine and beer list with enough options for decent pairings. Many entrees and salads contain meat, making the Summer 2018 menu a bit difficult for vegetarians and vegans.

Beautiful ambience/decor with multiple setups/sections for different occasions, ie; family with kids section, date night, bar, large groups, casual. No music or very low volume classy music that is not overbearing and doesn't disrupt conversations. Doolittles gets it! It has it all: great food, drinks, service, decor, and not too expensive. It has a fireplace in one part of the restaurant and in another part of the restaurant you can see their chicken rotisserie being cooked over the flame that looks kind of like a fireplace also. I love their 3 samplers of wine options. The outside of the restaurant appearance is very modest and doesn't do justice to what the dining experience is once you get inside. My husband and I have been helped by the same server everytime we've dine there and he has been top notch consistently. He is one of the few best servers we've ever had amongst all other restaurants we've been to. This server somehow is fast with helping us, yet *never* disrupts my husband and I conversation or in the middle of a mouthful meal. I detest that at other places when servers do that! It's a rare restaurant that is beautiful, has really comfy seating area, full bar, excellent service, incredible drinks and food, and reasonable price. Oh and its in Golden Valley! Love! It is soooo nice not having to deal with uptown and downtown Minneapolis chaos of looking for parking just to dine at a finer restaurant! On Valentine's Day weekend, they've set their tables with a stem of red rose and greenery. I truly appreciate that things like that doesnt go out of style at Doolittles. Our go to place for special occasions that is not too expensive.

Cucumber slaw is warm but could be really good if it was more than a tablespoon amount. Smothering it in sliced red onions is an interesting choice. Overall a weird experience, but it could have really rocked with a little care.

But this is only served during the fall/winter months. And after today I was told they no longer serve it AT ALL. It's a corporate decision and they will NOT under any circumstances share the recipe.
