Driven by this place for years. Decided to stop in for breakfast 😋! Man why did I wait so long?! Great menu and the food was hot fresh and delicious! Has all your standard breakfast items as well as some unique specialty items. Service was excellent as well. We had French toast & a breakfast sandwich. Bacon cooked to perfection and it was good thick bacon sausage was crispy on the outside and moist on the inside. Sounds simple yet most breakfast places fail at these simple task or they cut cost buy offering small inadequate portions. Do yourself a favor skip Perkins and try this place!

Generous portions, nice and quiet conversation-friendly cafe. The Italian sausage is the best I have ever had, wow! Fries are phenomenal and worth the upcharge. Service is pretty good. I had the Italian scramble and it was great. Hash browns are perfect. I grew up in Crystal, but this is across town and I had not heard of it before. I look forward to coming back for some more comfort food in the future. Would like to have a gluten free toast option, many folks are looking for that. I might suggest a lighted open sign, it’s welcoming to bring in customers.

The food is great and their blueberry pancakes are really good. It would be really helpful if they added some aluminum foil or parchment paper in between the food and takeout tray. The hot food melts the foam tray and melted foam can't be good for one's health.

You get a lot of food for your money. Large portions served in a low key, old fashion environment. This is a place you have to try. It brings back memories of traditional cafes from the 70’s. I really enjoyed this place. The food is amazing. We were there for breakfast and everything was done perfectly. Try the steak and eggs for breakfast.

Our FAVORITE spot for weekend brunch! Classic diner breakfast, nothing fancy- exactly what I look for. I almost always get the American Omelette, but we’ve also tried and loved the crunchy pecan French toast, they have great pancakes and bacon (great everything). Down to earth staff and vibe, family friendly and regardless of what time we go on the weekend, we almost always have a spot to sit.

Grandson thought he could eat 3 pancakes, but decided to go to 1 after waitress informed him they were size of a plate! He then got 2 & it was plenty with a side of great bacon. All three of us enjoyed the breakfast items we got. Would like to return when we visit city again. Bacon was extremely meaty and tasty.

I loved the family feel, the mom and pop ambience!! Loved it! The breakfast was great. My blueberry pancakes were awesome! I would reccomend this place to everyone and anyone. The thick cut bacon, the toast, everything, absolutly everything was good. The service was good, the meals came out fast and the coffee was good. I say, come on by, sit and take a load off!!

Breakfasts at this strip mall cafe are outstanding. There's a fairly extensive selection of clever combinations and twists on typical breakfast fare. Service is friendly, quick and efficient. They always keep your coffee cup full.There's a lot of seating but it can be plumb full on a Saturday morning. Lots of parking. Located in Lamplighter Square on Douglas Drive.

Stopped in for just a Belgian waffle at 7:00 in the morning. My friend had been craving them all of last night and we saw that they had some and went inside for the first time. Wonderfully warm and friendly atmosphere and the Belgian waffle brought tears to their eye!

So the food here is great. Portions are very large. The waitstaff have been here for years. The weekend I was here the waitstaff seemed low on patience even though she had a busser. I did tip in cash and her mood was friendlier as I was leaving. I will go back because the food is good. They have bisquits and gravy and the usual breakfast items. Large menu and specials.

I liked it. We had breakfast there. I like the atmosphere but because of the price, (a bit pricey in my opinion), I don't think I will go out of my way to go back. On par with Perkins breakfast but I think Perkins is a bit cheaper price wise so I'll stick with Perkins.

You better listen to Juan and try the southwest hash brown potatoes. Super delish!! The uptown omelette with asparagus and mushrooms was fantastic! My pals said the breakfast sausage was dinomite. Great breakfast. Great service friendly and efficient. Coffee cups didn't run dry.

This place was delicious. We about 12 people in our group. The service was great and the food was amazing. Large portion sizes and good and hot when it was delivered to our table. The waitress were very personable and had smiles and we're very attentive. Our food all came.iut together and we got to eat together. Thank you to everyone for an amazing breakfast get together. ☺️

Great little restaurant. Breakfast is wonderful and they have some of the best pancakes in town. Chicken Fried Steak with eggs and hash browns is top notch. I am downgrading this to 4 stars because for whatever reason they cannot properly cook eggs over easy. They are always medium or hard.

Love this place for breakfast, lunch. Food is always good, service is excellent, super value. This is a long term selection for Honeywell employees... just up the road. My personal favorite is the spinach omelet. Always tasty, hot, well seasoned.

A little hidden gem placed right in the middle of a strip mall. Crystal Cafe has a very comforting and homey feel. They have a good selection of both breakfast and non breakfast items. The food was good and the portions were big. This cozy little place brightened my morning and has my recommendation.

I met up with a few friends for brunch here. The place is small and felt a bit hole-in-the-wall, but sure enough it did not disappoint. The food was delicious! I ordered one of the specials: the Tex Mex scramble and it was very very good! It was also a generous serving size for what I paid; I could have cleaned my plate and been stuffed but instead I had a little left over and was still very satisfied. Most of the table finished their plates (omelettes were popular) but everyone left full. I would definitely recommend this place if you're looking for a good breakfast value and laid back atmosphere. We went around 10 on a Sunday and it was fairly busy, not sure if there was a wait because we got there later than the rest of our group. My only complaints would be that the table was a bit small and tight (to be fair the plates were very large) and the waitress stopped refilling water after she'd cleared the plates even though we were lingering and finishing our coffee (although that may have been a strategy to keep groups moving...).

Great old fashioned food as well as great value for what you get! Hashbrowns were made-to-order fresh and crispy. French Toast was unbelievable rum french toast was wonderful even bacon was phenomenal. I give them a big thumbs up. The waitstaff was extremely helpful and attentive, you will not walk away hungry, great place.

Clean quiet place for breakfast lunch or dinner. I had a pork tenderloin sandwich with fries. The fries were fabulous!! I highly recommend trying the French Fries with something you order. Bathroom is difficult to find. The dinner special was also very good.

I have been dining at the Crystal Cafe for 20 years. Family owned for generations. Menu is as long as a summer's day. Anything off the menu is outstanding. They make Italian Sausage patties that simply have to be tried. Their Chipotle sauce is out of this world. The friendly wait staff will know your name shortly as you will be returning again and again and again. A few top picks: Vegetable omelet with chipotle sauce italian sausage patty french fries pancakes that are as big as the table any of their pies you have to try the Crystal Cafe for breakfast! Amazing.

Nice little hole in the wall cafe, good food, fast service. Gayle is a good server, funny and down to earth. Technology is back in the ancient days, could use an upgrade on that. The waiters have to hand write them, so probably would be faster if they would come to the new age. Overall I’ll come back, might even bring my Ma in.

This was our 1st time eating here. We live across the street but haven't tried it because of some of the reviews about the service. This place has been around since I was a kid. They have the BEST breakfast menu around that made me rather disappointed with IHOP, or anywhere else for that matter. The pancakes are made from a homemade batter that can't be beat. The rest of the menu is "eh" but I can't get enough of their french fries, just the right amount of crispy that I haven't found anywhere else. The staff knows me and my family by name and they make you feel like you're at home. They even remember exactly what we like and how we like it. I recommend it to everyone I know and take my out of state friends here.

What a gem! My fiancé and I wanted to try somewhere new, so after a google search of restaraunts with best breakfast we were directed to Crystal Cafe. Don't let the run down strip mall that it's in scare you away- this place is great! I had the San Diego eggs Benedict and the mister had an omelette. The food was very good- We were impressed with the portions, and even had leftovers! As we were leaving, the hostess told us we will need to be back to try the pancakes!

Quality drops over time? Last week it was my 3rd time to return to this place in the past 6 months. The first time, I was reasonably impressed with the food and service (and having spent a fair amount of my life working in restaurants from diners to cafes, that's saying something) the second time, less so, and last week's meal was wholly unremarkable. All three times I got the biscuits and gravy, and man, if that's the best the TC has to offer, they need to give up now! The cook managed to screw up my friend's order even though it was not only written down, but also relayed verbally, so my friend had to wait another 10 mins to get their food while I nibbled at mine. I have heard that Papa's in New Hope is better, so I will check it out, even tho they are owned by the same people supposedly. Try harder, Crystal Cafe! I always like to support independently-owned non chain restaurants, but not if the food sucks!

Crystal Cafe offers a wide variety of classic American breakfast foods, along with lunch entrees. However, the breakfast is where they prove time and time again that they specialize. As a Minnesota native, it is no stretch to say that Crystal Cafe offers the best pancakes I have ever tasted, even after having done my fair share of traveling around the country. With their friendly customer service that makes you feel like you're in grandma's kitchen, Crystal Cafe has also managed to maintain a sincere small town feel despite operating in an urban area. Stop in for a cup of joe and some pancakes when you have free time, you will not be disappointed.

The waitress was on top of things, considering..... I went to go sit at a booth and the 1st booth seat was old springy & uncomfortable. I decide to move to the booth next to it. As I sat down the booth was dirty. I WAS THE 1ST PETSON IN, in the morning. Which means the night crew just left it. I noticed how she had to clean up after the night crew after that. The food portions were excellent. Loved the hashbrowns. However, I wasn't a big fan of the flavor of the gravy.
