Reviews of Ciao Bella

Very friendly hostesses and service staff. Relaxing and Comfortable seating area, great selections from the menu with extensive wine /drinks .The most tender and juicy scallops I had for appetizer. Other appetizers were great, too. Salmon was cooked perfectly with flavorful risotto. Desserts were great. My friends and I enjoyed our meals. Decent portions with reasonable price. Patio was closed for the winter . Highly recommended .

Visiting Ciao Bella for a business lunch and it didn't dissapoint. Good portions and all the plates looked great. Everyone enjoyed their meal. I live 45 minutes away and still make time to head that way for dinner. If weather allows dine out on the patio.

Ciao Bella is my absolute, favorite lunch spot in the twin cities! And it’s especially nice in the warmer months when you’re able to sit on their charming patio. The food is consistently fantastic here and the service is efficient as well as professional. I have yet to eat here without ordering the tomato and avocado flatbread. It is one of the best pizza dishes that I have ever had anywhere! The crust is so cracker thin and crispy that it stays level when holding a slice. Topped with cold marinated tomatoes and avocado, it’s my absolute favorite dish! I also highly recommend the tuna burger seared rare it is incredibly flavorful! And make sure to try their tortiglioni Rosa pasta it’s fantastic! I have yet to have ordered something I didn’t enjoy from here, even the bread is amazing! I also enjoy the fact that this restaurant has stayed consistent to what they’ve always been “post” COVID. There are no QR codes, they provide you with a menu, they still offer bread, and there is no service charge. If I had 1 complaint it would be that I wish their wine list had more French wines to choose from.

In town for work. Stopped by for lunch.
Service was pretty great. I was seated quickly & the waitress came right over; she knew the specials & I never had to wait on her.
Scenery was nice, and the menu and wine selection was extensive. I had a vegetable linguini with lamb, and a glass of wine - both tasted fine.
Overall, I was just not blown away. The portion size of the meal, the minimal house bread that was provided, even the 6 oz wine seemed less than usual, and the inflated pricing for everything just left me missing Italy. The food was great, but I couldn't feel the restaurant's authenticity.
(P. S. Italian food is my favorite so I judge it pretty harshly)

Pesto Sea Bass is highly recommended!
Kale salad and tiramasu were good. Great wine selection. Would not order espresso martini again.
Martin Roberts
This is a very large restaurant so don't expect a Mom and Pop Italian joint. The menu was as much American as it was Italian but the Scallops I had to start were excellent, the Classic Lasagne I had afterwards was very good but not the best ever hence why I didn't rate this 5 Star. Service was good, ambience was noisy rather than intimate.
Nicholas Willette
Great place to get yummy Italian food!
Pros:
- beautiful restaurant inside and out
- amazing staff, our waiter basically put on a comedy show for us each time he came back to the table
- great presentation of the food
- delicious deserts (we had the tiramisu and the lemon tart) and bruschetta
- had a 2 person walk in at 7 pm on a Wednesday and they were able to seat is right away
Cons
- neither of us were big fans of the noodles we got. (Regular red sauce (Rosa) and the scallops pasta) would recommend getting different things

The food was fantastic. We were a group of 4 and went for lunch. We ordered a Brussels sprouts for the table. I had the tomato avocado flatbread, my colleagues had a lamb pasta, filet-mignon, and salmon.
The warm bread is delicious. Their service is quick and attentive.
There are some vegetarian options but you’ll have to look closely at the menu to figure it out. But it would be nicer to have some more vegetarian options ( or at least for them to be marked separately and clearly on the menu)

When the weather cooperates, the outdoor seating is beautiful and perfect for a date or group outing. Service is consistently outstanding as is the food. My favorites include the Heirloom Grain salad and the Wild Mushroom flatbread. That said, I’ve loved everything else I’ve tried here!
Lydia Venjohn
FANTASTICO !! What an amazing dining experience with mouth watering food. They make all food from scratch and it shows! Bread, pasta & tiramisu were all top notch. I think this is my new favorite Italian restaurant in Minneapolis! The servers we had all worked there for 10+ years which is a good sign that employees are treated well. Food came out so quickly despite how busy it was.

This was my first trip and I chose ciao bella over other Italian restaurants in Minneapolis as they had the highest overall rating - I can confirm that they thoroughly earned it! When I entered the restaurant, the host team made me feel welcome and warm and this was one of the best host greeting I have received in a while. Food was spectacular and this was hands down one of the best Italian/pasta meals I have had in a long time. Their bread was so soft and was not surprised when my server told me that they make their bread, pasta and pizza in house.
They know how to make calamari appetizer! The breading was delicate and thin, which is how it should always be. Plus I could tell the squid they used was pretty darn fresh as it was quite soft when I chewed them. I had their tortiglioni pasta and that was off the hook delish. Pasta was excellent and their homemade molinari sausage was to die for. For dessert, I had their limonetta bella: lemon curd with lemon cream cheese filling and graham pecan crust on bottom. Perfect way to finish my meal.
Great service and a memorable dining experience. I strongly recommend Ciao Bella to anyone looking for a great Italian restaurant.

The food at Ciao Bella is very good with large portions. We had dinner at the restaurant with a party of six on a Thursday night. The restaurant is large and was very crowded when we visited it. The noise level in the restaurant was high and conversation was sometimes a bit difficult.
David Emahiser
Dane took great care if us. He read us quite well and was able to adapt his service style to our needs. He was very charismatic, attentive, and spot on with his suggestions. The food was delicious. This is certainly a place where you get quality over quantity, but if you go in understanding that, you're sure to enjoy yourself.
Aaron Jelley
This Italian restaurant is among the best that I have tried. Although a little pricey, the quality is some of the highest. I would definitely recommend this place, you might want to call in advance to make a reservation a few days prior if possible.
Lish Thrall
Great service, delicious food, and nice atmosphere. Recommend the Prosciutto di Parma, Balsamic, & Arugula as an appetizer, though it could be someone's meal, as it came as a whole flatbread pizza. Dry Aged Pork Chops were very good, and if they have the Shrimp Linguine Nero special, it also is very good. The small version of the Budino dessert is perfect for one. Also always love a place that serves bread and butter to the table!
Iqmat Adediran
Service was great. I had the pesto halibut which I felt the Wasabi mashed potatoes could have gotten more kick to. However, everything else was great. Bread was soft and warm, the meatballs were cooked perfectly and the parmesan crusted shrimp was everything and more
Mark Tumala (heyitsthatasiandude)
Was craving Italian on our trip to Minnesota and stumbled upon this place. The red wine that was recommended tasted great, bruschetta was tasty, Alfredo chicken was phenomenal, and the steak was very tender and juicy. Really no complaints and the staff was very friendly and quick.
Douglas Dybsetter
The hostesses are the best. The wait staff is excellent. Pork chops were great. House cut fries not so good. Do a difference potato or better fries. Spicy crab spaghetti delicious. But they still get 5 stars because of overall excellence.
Diana Whelan
Yesterday, we went to Ciao Bella for the first time. It was the loveliest lunch and everything that came out of the kitchen absolutely stunned us! The quality of each ingredient made every dish truly sing. I'm still dreaming of that fresh mozzarella in the caprese salad! Please go nurture your soul and dine your heart out! You won't regret it!
Virendra Soni
We went for our wedding anniversary Lunch, loved the ambience. Our server was very courteous and walked us through the chef specials and wine list. Also recommended a nice pineapple cocktail to pair with (Unfortunately we are not into wines). Overall great experience food was delicious. Recommended!!
Kelly Kielas-Jensen
Delicious food nice atmosphere great for a date night or 2 couples catching up. They can accommodate more. The service was good I only ranked it 4 because a 5 would have been exceptional service. This was close but not quite there. Men's choices were vast and their specials were unique. I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a nice night out.
Ramona Jeffery
If I could give 10 stars I would. Everything about eating there was exceptional. I usually take pictures, but I was enjoying the food so much I completely forgot. They start with the most delicious, light and airy yet beautifully crusty bread. Highly recommend.
Robert Yount
Stopped by for a night cap. They have an amazing indoor-outdoor bar. It's covered with fans going so you can stay dry and cool, but it has an open wall behind you that opens up into a delightful patio. The drinks were excellent, and the bartender and staff were very knowledgeable and fun. Would recommend!
kim hansen
This place was amazing. The atmosphere was clean, lively, with a good vibe. Perfect for dinner with friends and date night.
Excellent service and Menu choices are plentiful for all. Pasta large portion with significant various proteins. Desserts, Appetizers all Top Shelf!
Jennifer Presnell
Ate here 7/28/2022. Fantastic place for people with special food needs. Food is always outstanding and our server was well versed on the menu. Meal was able to accommodate a vegan, a vegetarian, and someone with a gluten and dairy allergy. Additionally, an amazing wine was recommended. This is always my go to place for a work event or a family meal.

So I flew in last week from California to visit Minneapolis and i was brought to Ciao Bella for dinner since I’ve heard really good things about this restaurant. Lets just say this restaurant was beyond my expectations!!! I had ordered me some scallops and lets just say those were the best ones I’ve tasted thus far! The food was amazing and the service was beyond amazing. I will be definitely coming back to this place when I come back to visit the Twin Cities.
Patrick
We enjoyed a great happy hour on the patio. Several tables, vine covered pergolas, and fountains. Full menu of delicious appetizers, flatbreads, entrees, cocktails and wine. Our servers were attentive, prompt, and friendly. I’ve been to Ciao Bella in Bloomington at least 5 times and we’ll keep coming back!
Travis Huber
The food here is absolutely delicious! I had the Red Pepper Linguini With Scallops, the tomato basil soup, and the tiramisu.
The soup was delicious! It had a fruity black pepper taste along with the amazing tomato soup flavors.
The red pepper linguini was to die for! The pasta is good and the scallops are good but the combination will make you beg for more! The scallops were done perfectly and the pasta was creamy and delicious!
The tiramisu was fluffy, airy and flavorful! So delicious and highly recommend!
Chris Edgell
We had the halibut and the spicy crab spaghetti. The halibut was awesome melted in your mouth and the sweet cream corn with it compliments the dish to perfection. The spicy crab spaghetti although wasn't what was expected but very good as well I think it could ha e used just a touch more sauce but really really good.

We came to Ciao Bella to celebrate my birthday on September 30. We had reservations. There is ample parking. Clearly, dining is back as it was very busy and at times the noise level was loud. This is not the Olive Garden...it's a gorgeous restaurant with white tablecloths and exquisite food. The herbed linguini with braised lamb was outstanding and not an overwhelming portion. Everything we ordered was excellent. The service was also outstanding. I don't believe the lovely waitress introduced herself as I wished I knew her name. She was also superb.
Thank you for such a wonderful dining experience!

One of my favorites by far. The patio was so lovely for a lunch date and the food was exquisite! I normally don’t like crab cakes either, but these were incredible! Wow! A much have for sure. Thank you Ciao Bella staff for an incredible experience. We will be back for sure. Chad and Lucy. 🥰🙏
Diana White
I thought the food was only average. But the service and surroundings were nice.
Alex Fraundorf
Wonderful staff and delicious food. I had the haddock special and some calamari. Both were amazing.
Our waiter was extremely patient and helpful with our son and helped him customize his order.
A+

We do not go out to dinner very often, but when we do Ciao Bella is always one of a few places we go. We really love the relaxed atmosphere, along with the exceptional service and delicious food. We have never been disappointed and keep going back. Thank you, Ciao Bella!
Cheryl Capra
Jeff was our server and he was the best we had my parents in from rural mn before they were leaving town. He made all feel welcome and relaxed! We
Will be back ourselves for that reason alone! The food was also very good. But the staff from the front desk on was amazing!!!
Tracy Johnson
Top notch albeit crowded patio. Great bar and bar tenders inside. The braised short ribs were meaty, lean and crazy tender. Would have liked a bit tastier sauce, but this is Minnesota. Friends loved the pesto sea bass. Prices are too high but twin cities is seriously lacking in Italian restaurants so they can.
Aj Williams
Kassandra was our server tonight and did a phenomenal job without party. We had 8 adults and 2 children with our group. The entire time we felt like we were her only table. The good, drinks, attention to details, making sure everything came out perfectly, nothing could have been better.
This was not our first time here but it may have been one of our best.
Melody Ikonomovski
I've gone there several time for work lunches but this was the first time I was there for dinner. We had really great food and great service. All of their food is really delicious and great for a special dinner when you want to splurge on appetizers, wine and dessert. They make all of the dishes to order so you can ask for anything to be held off your meal which I appreciated.
Adelante! Sara Ochoa
Went there this past week with my sister. She had fettuccini Alfredo with chicken and I had the brick roasted chicken and veggies… all delicious! The cobbler special and lemon dessert did not disappoint! Service was exceptional. Can’t wait to go back!
Beverly Parnell
Absolutely superb experience. The wine list is extensive. Our waiter was very knowledgeable and fun. They have gluten free options. I had halibut with GF pasta. My friends had alfredo and short ribs which they really enjoyed. I highly recommend trying this place out!
Sprite'a Beard
Brittany was such a nice server! Straight to the point! The food was IMMACULATE. truly 10/10. My boyfriend and I are out of state and this was the perfect spot to stop at first. Highly recommend the spicy crab spaghetti and the cinnamon gelato!
Kevin Vi
I came here because of it's relation to Zelo which I loved. It does not have the same metropolitan feel. The wall art was very commercial. The suburban clientele wore hats at the table and were dressed spanning the board from sweatpants, to hillbilly prom, to attending a pig roast or the county fair.
The food was good and my bill was less than I expected.
The service was nice but we were left wondering where our server was toward the end of dinner.
Wendy Frakie
Really nice food and great service, but it was really loud. Hard to hear the people at the other end of our 8 person table.
Sarah S
What a nice atmosphere! Appetizers were great! Bread for the table. I had the chicken parmigiana, it was delicious. The spaghetti that came with it as a side dish though didn’t seem fresh, almost like it was prepared in advance, but not the biggest deal. My fiancé got the burger and wasn’t impressed but often that’s to be expected at restaurants that don’t specialize. We waited a long time to get our order in and we would’ve ordered a lot more drinks if the waitress has been around more regularly so that was too bad considering it wasn’t too busy; at least she was very friendly and personable. All in all, we’ll be back in the future.
Steve Ham
First time diner, huge restaurant with strong service and a warm atmosphere. They're very proud of their products as reflected in their prices. I'd consider this a very good rating, but not necessarily a very good value. There is a difference
A Johnson
Their many tables meant we were seated immediately even though we dined on a Saturday. I appreciate that they offer half-glasses of wine. The burrata salad was a great option for a light dinner! Service was prompt and friendly, although filling my water with unnecessary frequency detracted from that. My only complaint on this visit was that there was quite an unappetizing odor around the area where we were seated, something like a cross between burning and foul cleaning chemicals. Because of this we ate and left, and would have otherwise lingered a bit.
Danielle Smith
Cannot say enough amazing things about Ciao Bella! Not only is their food absolutely incredible and consistent every single time but they also go above and beyond with customer service! I wanted to surprise my mom at her bday dinner with a bottle of wine and some apps at her table since I'm in another state. Not only did they give exemplary help over the phone, but in the midst of a busy night they had everything ordered and timed for her arrival and on the table with a note from us. I cannot thank them enough for going so far above and beyond in making her day special. They have a customer for life after that :)
Marcus H
My wife and I had dinner here last week. A wonderful experience from the service to the food. We had the calamari for an appetizer and the pork chops for dinner. Both were great.
B Jaques
Crusted Walleye was 10 out of 10. Or maybe 11...
Service was top notch.
Noise level was probably normal for a lively Italian restaurant.
Definitely recommend!!
megan sandra
The ahi tuna burger was outstanding! As well as the starter bread. Our waitress was very attentive as well. I loved the wine recommendation she gave me and will be back!
Maritza Rodriguez
James gave us exceptional service during our dinner! The food was amazing and the portions were perfect. I enjoyed my time here very much and will be returning!
Carol Cermak
Very accessable ♿. Friendly, attentive wait staff. We went early, but the place filled up. Reservations recommended.
akshay reddy
Great food and great service. Visited this place again after 4 years and it’s still has good food and amazing ambiance. Place is always full so it’s recommended to have reservation so you can spend enough time.
Amanda Supak
The food and staff were amazing! The place was pretty busy for a random Tuesday night. I guess that just goes to show how good they are!
Torrey Thomas
I was able to go in and place a to go order. They thought about the fact that I would probably need silverware. They also gave me bread despite getting the order to go. Didn't take too long, maybe 10-15 minutes.
Only thing that I was not thrilled about was pricing.
I paid $44 for the appetizer cauliflower, the appetizer calamari and a chocolate Bundt cake. The portion of calamari was not equivalent to a $20 price tag.
Brian Nadreau
Wonderful meal! The avocado bruschetta and beet salad were both amazing. All the entrees our group had were excellent as well.
Breanna Dedrickson
Updated review: After our poor experience a manager reached out to me, apologized, and gave us a gift card for another meal. We recently used it and the food was soooo much better. I had the same item (fettuccini) that I had the first time and it was totally different. The noodles were done perfectly and the sauce was plentiful and delicious! My wife's gf pasta was also very good. I really appreciate when restaurant management takes note of times when they could do better and offers to remedy the situation. We will definitely dine there/take out again because the food is good and they care about their customers.
Original review: I'm bummed that I have to post a negative review for a restaurant that has a great reputation but we did not have great takeout recently. We've dined at Ciao Bella before and we were surprised at the food quality this time. We ordered the filet mignon (medium and gluten free) and were shocked when we opened the box to discover just the steak and mashed potatoes. No sprig of thyme, presentation points, or extra kick of flavor. The steak was very rare, bright red and not prepared medium. The potatoes were meh. Certainly not worth $40 for that dish. We also ordered the fettuccini, which I was very excited about coming from a revered Italian restaurant, but that dish fell flat as well. There was not enough sauce on it so it came across dry with very little flavor. I had to add some garlic and salt at home to make it taste like more than bland noodles. We've done a lot of takeout this past year and this was our most disappointing meal.
kimberly stiele
Usually it's a Bacio run, but Ciao Bella today. They will customize dishes (I customize rissoto), which means, it is so fresh. Service is great. Bread is wonderful. Wine list delightful
Jake Kroll
Fancy establishment. Went here with my lovely fiancé for a Friday night out just because and wasn’t disappointed. Definitely recommend the red pepper linguine with scallops it was delish. A little spendy BUT I will say you get a different level of food going to a place like this. Thanks for providing us with a nice night out!
Nikki
Our server was amazing! He was incredibly attentive, gave us ideas, conversed with us, and checked on us accordingly. The food was delicious. The picture with the green noodles, was the best (it's actual name escapes me)! The calamari was lightly breaded which is perfect, and the dipping sauce was a great addition. The patio has heaters as well! Definitely an awesome spot!
Off Duty Astronauts (Off Duty Astronauts)
The service, atmosphere and the menu were all great but overpriced for what it was. Don't go for a quiet dining experience. On a Thursday at 7pm, it was so excruciatingly loud that the waitresses had to yell and it was hard to have a conversation. Roasted cauliflower was bomb! 💣

Love Ciao Bella. Always a good meal. Nice atmosphere.
Dale Wills
Great food and service. The tomato soup is excellent. Would loved to just eaten a big bowl of it.
Kristine Schneider
My boyfriend and I had the pleasure of dining with Ciao Bella to celebrate me finishing up radiation and breast cancer treatment. The ambiance was very charming, lit with a fireplace and surrounded by nice paintings. Our waiter Jerome was very knowledgeable of the menu and was always quick to check on us. The busboy was also very quick on refilling water glasses and boxing up our leftovers. We had the tomato basil soup- it was creamy and sweet and a nice way to warm up. We also got the fettucine with natural chicken. It was creamy and delicious with a notes of lemon. The crunch from the almonds and cooked spinach added nice texture and taste contrasts. The best part of the evening was when Jerome and the manager, Tyler, comped our meal to celebrate my cancer success. It was totally unexpected and brought a tear to my eye. It definitely made our night and we have made sure to tell others about how Ciao Bella topped off our evening with a smile after a great day of celebrating. So thanks Ciao Bella, particularly Tyler and Jerome. We will be back soon! :)

It was hard to find parking but we managed..
Met friends
We're helped immediately with drink and food orders.
Food came so fast and it was packed. A++++ food, sercice ... amazing place!!
Daniel Swanson
Arrived at 11:20 - seated immediately. Sampled calamari app, butternut squash ravioli and tortiglioni rossa. The calamari was cooked perfectly and served with a wonderful aioli. The squash ravioli was rich and savory. The tortiglioni was tasty - spicy without going overboard. The peas had a crunch.
A really outstanding lunch. Service was impeccable and cordial. Thank you!
Tofu Man
Amazing place, nice environment, clean facility. The staffs were on top of everything and they were very friendly. I ordered the Caramelized (honey) Brussel Sprouts and Linguini di Mare. The food was excellent especially the pasta itself.
Sachinika Deemansa Boda Hennadige
Best place for authentic Italian dinner near Bloomington!
Great choice of pastas with all kinds of meats and cheese. The bread and butter was perfect.
And they serve brilliant Pizzas!
Herb linguine with braised lamb was amazing as well as the linguine de mare my friend ordered. Pizza was perfect. And so was the dessert 🍨
We ordered Tiramisu and Gelato Sampler which had 3 tastes Vanilla, Sweet Caramel and Kahlúa which we’re an absolute treat.
They even make small alterations to your dish as you request, which is nice.
They also serve great cocktails and do have a bar where you and friends can hangout.
Busy place, even on a Wednesday. Prices were reasonable. Very pleasant service provided by the friendly staff.
ML Hung
I am happy to see a restaurant is packed on a Monday night, feel welcoming the moment I stepped my foot in, busy place but you don’t feel overcrowded to sit down. Server has long reddish hair, very friendly and patience. The scallops appetizer are delicious.
Ishara Waduge
Food is really good. Place is busy. Portions are little small though. Go for the regular size, not the small dish. 1 star down cz we had to wait like 7mins to be seated even though we had a reservation.
Justin stutsman
Service was spectacular. Friendly staff that made sure we had everything we needed. Couldn't have been better.
Food was amazing. I had the salmon. Cooked perfectly. Caesar salad was delicious as well; not soaked in dressing but just perfectly coated.
For sure recommend to anyone if you think the menu items are up your alley. You won't be disappointed!
East Orange
Been here for lunch several times and for dinner a couple of times. They provide excellent customer services. The tall spacious ceiling's always amazed me. This is the best Italian restaurant that I've been in the Twin Cities! Their bruschetta is amazing!
Michael S
The filet mignon is one of the best. Great service. Parmigian shrimp is quality.
Aishwarya Reddy
Great place for romantic candle light dinners.
Also a good place for official and casual hangouts.
They serve the best Italian food.
I just love the lasagna in here. It was toooo yummy and we couldn’t leave in a bit haha.
I say must try!!!
Also had shrimp flat bread which was good and felt really fresh. The spinach and cheese blend was wonderful.
Staff were very friendly and great. They were so kind and gave every detail needed. I appreciate their way of welcoming. Keep going 🎊
Shari Noon
Our friends live in this area. The restaurant we were supposed to eat at closed for remodel. Friend took us here and so happy they did. Our server Michelle was great. Lucky we came early as it was packed when we left. You're served unless fresh bread🙂 The group ordered lasagna but I heard they had great pizza. My mushroom, sausage, artichoke pizza was great. I had enough to share and everyone enjoyed. I tasted the lasagna and it was excellent. Wish it was in our neighborhood. FYI if coming from noon on, make reservations.

Edited and simplified.
I picked Ciao Bella for a nice Saturday date night.
Crab spaghetti was good. Spicy.
Busser was on point.
You'll spend decent money. That's good at least. Paying for location vs experience and fine dining.
Expected more of an 'Experience'.
Dish (chops) needed more substance, not just French fries. Maybe a chutney, grilled apples.
Specials didn't seem special
Okay. Thanks.
Kienan Mick
The gnocchi was really good, the price seems a little high for the portion size though. The blue cheese salad could use more blue cheese, not a lot of flavor from the dressing.
Justin Kutchenriter
What can I say. Words can't describe how excellent the food and service is at this fine establishment! I saw plenty of folks dressed really nice, however I didn't feel out of place in jeans and a t-shirt. They have their own bakery so yes everything is very fresh in the baked goods category. Of course warm fresh bread included with every table and they will bring out as much of it as you care to eat. Fresh caught fish flown in daily so if you love fresh fish that was caught that day, I suggest it for sure. We ordered the sea bass and every bite was unbelievably tasty! They make their pasta fresh every day from scratch. I recommend getting a pasta dish as well. We ordered the lamb even though we didn't need anymore food, but we wanted to have the pasta. Desserts, wow! I don't know how anybody would still have room in their bellies! We had dessert and I don't regret it... I highly recommend this place! It's hard to find a place this great, you really have to go to a lot of restaurants before you can find one this good!
Jarrod Williams
Food and atmosphere here is amazing. This is a must stop by whenever I'm in town.
EverKnown
Just go. It's worth every penny.
Food is good. Service is good.
It was a little noisy for a Saturday but I think this place has a reputation around here...
Just go.
A K
I have tried their pesto sea bass and wood grilled ahi tuna. They're good.. But not great! Their service is good and their bread is tasty. I love the butter they serve with their bread. If you're a wine drinker then there's a plenty of options. I love the ambience
Rea O
Great service and even better food! Great atmosphere. I highly recommend for any important or fancy meal.
Blake Cadwallader
Great server for the evening. Ahimsa Tina burger was good size and had good flavor. Salted caramel custard was a pleasant surprise for dessert.
David Drake
An almost 20 year old Italian restaurant offers delicious food and an extensive wine list. The food is sourced responsibly with fresh, organic ingredients. The food I ordered was balanced very well in flavor. Great place!
Terrayl Black
I go for the short ribs and parmesan crusted shrimp. Both are very delicious.
Jeff Doerr
The finest in Italian cuisine found anywhere in the Twin Cities. The Pork chops are a must and don't miss the Charred Brussel sprouts!
The staff is nothing but the very best anywhere.
Judi Mullin
Delicious food
...only reason for a four star was young noisy children in I feel an adult restaurant atmosphere.
So enjoyed the Lemon delicacy for dessert after.a walleye entree.
Adam Ford
the seafood did not taste fishy at all. The texture of the shrimp and the calamari were fantastic. The steak sandwich was made with delicious bread, that was clearly fresh.
Deborah Conley
I was on a very special date and we had the BEST time!! The food, drinks and staff were all amazing and wonderful. Thank you!!
Jarrett Galbreath
Went with two coworkers on a Tuesday evening. Food was great as well as the service. I had a caesar salad, the spicy crab spaghetti, and the budino dessert. Atmosphere was noisy.
A Chip
Food is great. The noise level was very high, hard to even carry on a conversation. Tables on both sides of us mentioned noise level as well.

Some dishes are good, some are less so. Avoid apps/starters, as they’re disappointing. The Brussels sprouts were undercooked and excessively sweet (honey). The baked spring roll was $15 and was one tiny roll in a flour tortilla cut into 5 bite sized pieces. Gnocchi, chicken parm and pizzas are good. Service was good and the server was quite knowledgeable. We were also charged for dessert (tiramisu) which we did not order, since we were meeting friends elsewhere for dessert and drinks. They did fix it for us by removing the overcharge, but nothing further. It’s also pretty loud in there. I believe we had an isolated bad experience.

I hadn't been to the new location before. What a beautiful restaurant!!! Same excellent food and service. Thank you!
Phil Berndt
What an amazing dinner. Loved the atmosphere. Great service. Authentically prepared dishes!
Krishna Kumar (hifikk)
Food is okay. Service is seriously slow. Vegetarian options very limited.
Good dessert options.
Meredith O'Malley
The RED PEPPER LINGUINI WITH SCALLOPS was one of the best Italian dishes I've ever had. They also carry a great Malbec. Everything was amazing!
Pranav Sharma
Great food. Patio seating is the best. Flavourful dishes. Breads are awesome.
Paul Lyons
Hadn't been in years and enjoyed having a work lunch with colleagues. Highly recommend the walleye sandwich, it was delicious.
Kris K.
Excellent service, delicious italian cuisine. Although a bit pricey, everything we had was excellent.
The meatballs were juicy tender and full of flavor, however the table agreed a little sear wouldve made it next level.
The burratta platter was a savory delight.
Also the steak and truffle aioli crustinis were fantastic. Melt in your mouth tender.
For a main I had the parpadella and shrimp pasta dish. Did not regret that decision at all. You get a modest portion of food too.

My wife and I were struggling to find a place to eat. We found an opening here and came flying in...ultra casual. We were quickly seated and served even faster. The service was beyond anything we could have expected. The food was unimaginable. I sincerely wish that I could have given them a 6th star. Our waitress, Katie, made us feel comfortable. The diversity in this restaurant was refreshing, and we quickly realized the quality of the food and the amazing service was experienced by each and every guest in the restaurant.
Phil Johnson
On the pricey side, I had a Bella burger here, medium rare. They nailed it, it was quite delicious and a decent sized portion. The fries were delicious, but a bit salty. They really specialize in seafood, and while I'm not a seafood fan, the parmesan shrimp was amazing.
What was exemplary was the service. The waitress was exceedingly kind, and took great interest in my comfort and my companion's. The waitress spoke clearly and a little louder through her mask, which I appreciated, and was all about taking care of her customers. This was grade-A level stuff, it's nice to see such strong effort put into hospitality.

Bread, zinfandel and bar service great. Shell still on my shrimp - not so fantastic! It still tasted great even though there was a bit more sauce than I would have wanted.

-We’ve been to Ciao Bella and Zelo for a few years now every time we visit Minneapolis so at least every couple of months. Unfortunately it is not as great as in the past.
- I made a reservation and specified that it was our anniversary as well as his birthday and would like a candle for his dessert but none of the above were mentioned by any staff at anytime.
-The hostess was very lost and not welcoming by asking us first thing “ you need any help?”. I mean wouldn’t you at least say hello and why would anyone would step into a restaurant, probably to eat? ... then a young man- assuming manager came out to tell her how to basically show us to the table, he was with his hands in his pockets and never mind the uniforms for any of them, I mean if you have a restaurant of such elegance wouldn’t the staff be up to that level as well?!
- Food was very good as always and probably that is why we keep going back for the consistency of the food. The bass was cooked to perfection and short ribs were ok. Ciao baby salad was great, meatballs a little spicy and crab cakes excellent.
- Our server was nice and service was pretty good.
- next time we will have to rethink our dinner plans as $200 can be easily spent somewhere else as well.
- my 3 star rating is based on : atmosphere, food, service, price and the fact that was no acknowledgement of our anniversary or his birthday.

Our first time there, the food was incredible, I had the lasagna and my wife had the ravioli. It is pricey, but is well worth it for how good the food was. Our waiter (Tony) was great. We called prior to going to see if it was “kid-friendly” and they said yes. We brought our 6 and 2 year-old with us, and being from out of town, we didn’t realize the restaurant was as fancy as it was — thankfully our kids were great the whole time! I highly recommend this place if you’re looking for great Italian food, we’ll definitely go back the next time we’re in Minneapolis. Thanks again to waiter Tony for making it a great experience. P.S. I would have attached a photo of the lasagna but there was no chance since it was devoured too quickly.
Carlos Castellanos
I will keep this visit and experience dearly close to my best memories from MN. Jeff's attentions were by any measure beyond exceptional. The food was simply delightful, the menu, the wine options as well; but above all, the experience was one to remember with a smile. Thank you!
Simone Parker
Long wait but the food was good, outdoor patio is lovely, and our server was very attentive.
Blue Panda3
No reservations were required. We had scallops which were amazing! The red pepper linguine with scallops was delicious, and they were accommodating with the menu so we also got ravioli with scallops (which cost extra). The bread was delicious and home made. The music was nice, they played Hosier, Noah Cyrus and Peter Gabriel while we were there. They have a large wine menu with some great and luxurious selections. The decor is beautiful and luxurious, beautiful fireplace, large dining room, fire pizza oven, large beautiful bar and even a tv playing football at the bar. We had a good time and definitely recommend.
Madeline Haylock
amazing food, and even more amazing service. the food quality and astomphere of Ciao Bella is incrediable. I recommend going during their lunch hours, it is way less busy!
Patrick Milan
Wonderful lunch option for business meal and an excellent location for dinner with friends. Great wine list, excellent menu full of made from scratch options. The pasta is done if the best I’ve ever had. When it gets warm, the patio is a favorite location to either gang at the bar or get a bite to eat.
Joel Swanson
The food was fantastic, especially considering that my employer was buying as I believe their prices are on the higher end. We were located next to the bar area and it did get a little loud to hear past a small group of 4 maybe 5 people but considering that the place was packed at the happy hour time I'd consider it pretty typical.
Tabitha Thompson
Spaghetti and meatballs were awesome!! Bread is really fresh and can’t get enough of it!! Great service!!
Tom Larson
My wife and I have recently discovered this outstanding establishment. We've lived in the area for years, but never thought to try it out. Now that we've been there twice, it's definitely our new favorite. The prices are higher than some but the quality of the food and the attentiveness of the servers is way higher than that. It's classy but comfortable; it's upscale but genuine, and it's energetic but not frenzied. Now that's a wonderful balance!
Boon Hoe Lim
Friendly staff and the food is delicious. Pork chop is well prepared with a grilled smoked taste.
Randy Nibbe
Delicious menu options with great ways to pair a starter or salad with a savory entree.
Staff was very engaging and thoughtful. Kelly at the Bar recommended a great Manhattan.
Intentions of left overs were diminished when the entire meal was enjoyed.
James Nelson
Always friendly, always tasty, always welcoming. The patio is wonderfully inviting. You will enjoy the scallops and the meatballs. Perfection on a plate.
Deon Love
Excellent food and service! The short ribs melted in my mouth! Lovely restaurant.
Joy Pandya
Absolutely beautiful ambiance! 😍 Delicious and authentic food, very kind staff and the flow of dinner was absolutely perfect. There was no wait on entres and our glasses were always full!
Justin Docter
Great place. Love the atmosphere, service and the food. Mushroom and truffle flatbread is amazing 👌
Garry Laugerude
Great ambiance with beautiful art throughout. Amazing food and wine selection at reasonable prices for the quality of food.
I personally recommend the Sea Bass
Mako J
Decent Italian place for a sub. Came here on a work dinner. I had Lasagna. It was flavorful, but too salty for my taste. Tiramisu for desert was great. Service was prompt and friendly for a large party. Took off two stars for over salty ness.
Nicole Buelow
They have the best house made gluten free pasta - if you are gluten free - try it!!
Dawn Alitz
A great patio, amazing servers, and consistently great food. This is my favorite go-to summer place for happy hour and dinner.
alexander gaitan (大悪人)
Delicious food and great service! The price is expensive but well worth it!
John Walcott
Great authentic Italian food, exceptional service, excellent value. Thank you very much. We would gladly eat here again, if back in the area.
garrett rea
Do Italian places serve tuna rolls? Sautéed Brussels sprouts, roasted cauliflower? Yes and this one mixes the flavors well. My Strip was amazing but the highlight were the apps. Drinks were strong enough to warm your face. For a work trip, the din of noise was appropriate as colleagues laughed and enjoyed good eats. My friend raves about the fish of the day. Gluten free buddy raves about the zucchini noodles.
john a
Very good food. The wait staff was attentive and entertaining. I would gladly go back here. It's a little more elegant than other Italian places. But the interior is really loud which doesn't seem to be unusual for many restaurants.
Lois Dlouhy- Arling
Wonderful as always!
Since Covid many of our favorite restaurants have gone down in quality, quantity and service...definitely NOT
Ciao Bella!!
David Thomson
Great menu. Make sure you check on the specials. They had an amazing walleye dish. Great Lasagna. They have an extensive wine menu along with good beer selection. The service was very good. All in all five stars+.
sean smith
We had a party of 5 at peak dinner service on Saturday. We ordered several sides, salads and entrees and desserts. Dane was our server. His service was informative, impeccable and timely. Truly a wonderful dining experience in Bloomington tonite. Highly recommend. Ask for Dane.
Matthew Manning
Fun atmosphere and outstanding food. We had a party of 6 and our server, Jerome, was attentive, friendly and helpful with recommendations. I had the sea bass and it was phenomenal! Everyone ordered something different and all were happy.
Eric Massie
Went for lunch with my family. The food and service were great as always! The portions are perfectly sized and prepared beautifully!
--
We had a party of 7 co-workers for a year end celebration... Every person loved their meal. Several people raved about the butternut squash ravioli, the shrimp appetizer went over well. The best walleye I've every had. The wine was nice. Only downside is just how noisy it is there, but, the food is worth it! Will definitely be going back.
Eapen Chacko
I've been to Ciao Bella over many years for business lunches and never been disappointed. This time we went in early September when things were slowly awakening post-lockdowns and restaurants were tentatively trying to have indoor dining. Six of us showed up for an early dinner, and I remembered what a nice space it was, and it has a comfortable vibe and it's not noisy. We were shown to a very nice table off the main open dining room, and it was perfect for family conversation. Our server was Jessi who took on the task of remembering everyone's name around the table, and in between some laughing she succeeded. In fact, she had used this to take the rush our of us and to make us comfortable. I think that is a great service standard, and I recall that every time I've been in the service is excellent. I don't think I've ever had a dish which not satisfying and well prepared. We got very clear guidance for choices based on what people liked. The bar serves good drinks, and the wine list is not built around 90+ Robert Parker selections! Give it a try, take your time and have a nice winter meal.
Myah Dinger
Came here to celebrate my brother’s college graduation. The food was delicious and their recommendations for wine of your liking or pairing wine with food. I would eat here again for special occasions.
Keegan Ferreter
Wonderful atmosphere! It's an upscale/fine dining experience that has very good food, although the pricing can be bit high if you don't review the menu ahead of time.
Excellent recommendation for life celebrations, with knowledgeable staff who love to discuss the menu if you've never been. Would go again for sure!
Brian Yamashita
The food is really good but the dessert is great
Laura Peterson
Fantastic food and outstanding customer service! Would highly recommend.
Bert Sletten
A group of us were here for a dinner party on a friend's birthday. The birthday girl treated us to dinner. Very nice gesture at a very nice place.
Weather was perfect, and atmosphere, staff, food, drink (wine flowed), were all close to perfect.
The outdoor patio is very nicely designed and HUGH after pandemic expansion, the inside is also very nice, but quieter patio was better for group's conversation.
We hadn't been there for a while and had kind of forgotten how nice this place really is.
I'd recommend this restaurant for get-togethers, and the very good menu/food is perfect for you and a friend.
Veeda Denardo
Great food and staff. Such a wonderfully helpful and friendly group.
Ricky Du
My goodness, what a wonderful meal; can't remember the last time a meal was this great.
Jenny Anyanwu
My pasta was average. I got a stomach ache a couple hours after my meal
Dewy Shaikh
Loved the ambience, service was also good and food was yummy as always!
Brian Orr
Great food; great atmosphere.
Classic Italian dishes.
Loved the service!
Raul Cuellar
Always a fun place. Great drinks, wonderful food, and one of the best patios in the Twin Cities. We come here often
Joshua Eklund
Excellent food and drinks. Our server Jerome was fantastic and anticipated our needs before we had a chance to ask. My steak was cooked perfectly. Wife's pasta was savory and delicious. Creme brulee was top notch.
This was our first time here, and we had a great experience. We will definitely be back!
Justin Flesher
Every experience here has been 5/5. However, the reason for the review this time is Melissa. Her service was exceptional and could only be rivaled by Capital grill. Thanks for a great dinner.
John Sutherland
This is a favorite power lunch spot which has stood the test of time for many years! John was our server today...and he made our visit exactly what we've grown to expect - excellent. Our meals were top notch, and the smaller portioned desserts were exactly the right amount. Thanks for a great lunch!!!
On addition, watch your cleaning - below standards for such a highly esteemed establishment.
Rob P.
Great ambiance! Loved the outdoor look and the bar through the window was awesome looking. Great design. The bread was nice and soft, and my waitress that served us came frequently for the amount of people she was serving. Well done!
angela taylor
The staff is always amazing here…I wouldn’t mind even if the food was mediocre (it’s not by any means) but that’s just how much I love the vibe here
Jon Martin
Nice Italian restaurant! Service was spot on, and they were hopping!
Mark Olson
Amazing place. Food was delicious and the staff was fast and friendly. I cannot wait to go back
Joe Hughes
Everything was perfect!!!! AGAIN!!! Dining at Ciao Bella is a wonderful experience. The food is superb with flavor combinations so "spot on" that I have tried ingredients outside my normal comfort zone and loved them. The incredible staff moves through the place very efficiently but with a light hearted ease that is very comforting. We can't wait to go back!!! Thanks
Tom Shoemaker
Meehh... Nothing special about the food. The ambiance is good. The wait staff was great! Went for lunch with a group of 10 people. I spent $35 for a small portion of Classic Lasagna, a small Cesar Salad, and a Diet Coke.
Bill
The food here is excellent, so is the service! It's a bit pricey and the portions are small, but to be expected in a high end restaurant. If you want stellar service and great food come here, if have to feed an army on a budget this is not the place. Trying to impress on a first date, yes this the place to be.
Max Anderson
Food is good, portions are small though. I think that is what you expect in a fancy dining place.
Shakeena Hunts Along
Omg! I love this place! The best! The cook is so wonderful! Great gluten free options. I go here a lot! Haha!
Richard Stair
The food was fantastic and the service was excellent! The prices weren't bad either.
David Eash
One of the best Italian restaurants I’ve been to in some time. The staff was perfect and the food was amazing. Add to that a beautiful decor and great wine.
Shannon
Our favorite restaurant! Food is absolutely delicious!
Ravioli with mushrooms and spinach!
Josh Wyman
Best Walleye, Scallops, & Pesto Sea Bass around!!
cindy mckee
My first time experience at this restaurant. The food was great however the service was horrible! The server was rude!!! I tried calling the restaurant three times nobody answers. The server missed out because I’m a huge tipper not last night!
Ramy Youssif
Organic salmon was good but a bit over cooked. Our server was great!
Chris
Very nice restaurant. The food was very good. I had the ravioli and cobbler for dessert. The bread served with the meal was excellent and we bought an extra loaf for $3 to take home. We ate inside because it was chilly but the patio was very nice and we plan to go back next year when it is warmer and eat there.
Jason Ross
We ALWAYS receive top-notch service from familiar faces, food is always excellent and the price point is reasonable.
Stephen Arnett
One of my favorite restaurants when visiting Minneapolis on business and that had been a while given the pandemic. Thankfully, the restaurant had the same excellent food, service and vibe as before! Highly recommended Italian restaurant!
Jimmy
Excellent food and phenomenal service! The parmesan encrusted shrimp appetizer was my favorite.
Ron Caplinger
We arrived at our reservation time with a group of seven and were seated immediately. Many other places would have tried to cram the 7th person on the end of the table, but Ciao Bela gave us a table for eight, perfect for our group. The service was fast, our waiter was knowledgeable about the beer selection and flexible in ordering, and drinks were delivered quickly. All of our orders were placed and the appetizers and salads were brought to the table in surprisingly quick time. Our food was excellent! Dessert was also delicious and we all enjoyed the after dinner coffees.
My only complaint is that the menus are hard to read in the dimly lit side room. A bolder font with black ink would help us older folks!
OLIVIA LUNDHOLM
The food was amazing and everything tasted as if it was freshly picked the day of! So so good!
Roshan Rajkumar
Always a winner. Kathleen, our server, knew the menu cold, made substitutions easy for us, and was never intrusive. The entree salads were flavorful andfilling. The calamari was a huge winner for the table. And the staff kept our glasses full. Prices are Edina-like, but the setting is lively and pleasant.
eby
A little bit too noisy. Very busy - reservation required. Good grilled salmon. Good shrimps.
Elaine Johnson
This is one of my absolute favorite restaurants in the twin cities. Huge selection and excellent salad, pasta and pizza. I love that they offer 3 oz wine options so you can try a variety or just gave a glass and a half. Beautiful patio and amazing service.
Tatyana Lee
The service is impeccable. Seabass is something to die for. Prosciutto and Burrata Appetizer is so fresh and tasty!
Sally McNamee
Last evening my husband and I had dinner, a second in two weeks. Both times were amazing, but last night prompted me to leave my first review ever. We began with two appetizers-scallops and seared ahi tuna on sesame crackers. Both terrific. My entree was the special of the night-walleye with peas and farro. The portion was large enough I took the rest home. It was one of the best meals I’ve ever had. Our server Heather took great care of us, as well. We will be back often.
Barton Dobbs
We had a business dinner here tonight and it was absolutely fantastic. Our server, Seth, was extremely good. He had a great balance of being attentive and informative, funny and witty, but not overbearing. He provided great suggestions and did a wonderful job overall. The food was top notch, we had the beef tenderloin crostini which was so rich and tasty, and all three of us had fish dishes, my two colleagues had the halibut special which they said was awesome, and I had the pistachio crusted Seabass. One of the best pieces of fish I’ve had in my life. The crust was salty and rich from the Pistachios, the fish was extremely flaky and tender, and the wasabi mashed potatoes and beurre blanc sauce rounded out the dish.
The only slight ding I would give this place is that it was very loud. It creates an exciting environment but it is kind of tough to hear at times. But overall a fantastic restaurant.
Tiffany Livingston
Shared apps and had cocktails mid day on the gorgeous patio. Crab cakes are amazing. You get what you pay for! 💯
Jenny Markey
Just went here for the first time. We absolutely loved it! From the outside host that greeted us, to our inside staff & food, everything was perfect! We will definitely be back soon!!❤️
Ashley Vos
Fantastic service all around! We had a Friday evening booking for 5 and it turned to 7 last minute- we were happy to scrunch together at the round table and the whole staff was absolutely wonderful and hospitable to our situation bringing two more chairs and giving understanding happiness in response.
The avocado bruschetta and cauliflower small plates were so so delicious! Our group got a few main dishes and a few more small plates for our entrees and, to be real, my family got QUIET for a nice moment and that’s how you know it was Gooood!
Heather, I believe, was our waitress and she was AMAZING. My family is tough to wrangle at times with squirrel brain excitement and she cared for us so exceptionally. We never had to wait or wonder for anything because she was there- and if in between things she would just say what she brought, she has one more thing to do, and then she will be right back for the next round.
She also clearly, dearly believes in the beautiful creations that they make from scratch in their kitchen. I highly complimented-of all things!- the vanilla gelato (it’s sooo good!) and she told us about how many lovely bits of the menu are made daily from scratch and that enthusiasm shines through as brightly as the flavor of every bite! Truly, our experience was so special. So much thanks to Heather, the runners and support staff, and of course the chefs and line cooks. BRAVO.
I honestly only write reviews if it’s 5 stars…you deserve 10. So count this twice (;
Brian Mason
The manager really goes out of her way to accommodate guests. Apps are always great. Drinks great. Summer patio great.
Zvonimir Bilic
The best lasagna ever! The bread was heavenly! The service was amazing!
Jake Tan
Amazing food and our waiter was equally amazing! An interesting and delectable take on Italian food that makes you wish for more.
Nicholas Popehn
Great bread, Great food, Great service, we've always been count on a great experience.
It is on spender side, but with every thing being in point, it hurts less to have everything pretty much prefect.
The standout mention goes to their pasta, that being said I'm not a huge pasta fan (I mean it's great at all) but their pasta tastes far better than I remember getting anywhere else. (not that I order a lot of pasta) I notice it.
You can also count on anything else on the menu, being on point and delicious, from salads to Sea Bass and short ribs.
Rebecca Bourget
Very classy place. Server was great and very friendly.
Nancy Gezella
Good food and service, but can be very loud
Chris Overson
We had great dinner. Jeff our server was excellent. All staff was fantastic. Will be back. Food was great as well.
Nicole Schauer
I can't believe I haven't been here before! Why didn't anyone tell me it was so yummy!?!. I feel like Ciao Bella is channeling Vivo (I miss that place) great, fresh food, friendly servers and an all around good vibe.
JL Almanzar
Very beautiful and cozy place. Food tasted delicious and service was superb.
Lyle Schwarze
We celebrated my daughter's birthday at Ciao Bella. We were not disappointed. The food was superb. I had the risotto. Excellent! Don't forget the appetizers! The service was impressive. I will definitely be going back.
Heather
Anthing on the menu won't disappoint. A fine dining experience. Large vined in patio makes you think you're in a bistro in Europe. Even the pizzas are excellent if you're just in for a drink and a quick bite. One of my favorite Metro establishment's.
Christine Diercks
Ciao Bella is a fantastic restaurant. We had a great meal and our wait staff April, Doug and Boris made it a wonderful experience! I highly recommend Ciao Bella!
2/24/2022
We had another wonderful experience at Ciao Bella. The server Seth was fantastic!
J
A 10 for food and ambiance. Their walleye sets an unsurpassed standard for Mpls St Paul metro . Excellent wine selection . Beautiful patio ambience .
Anna Joleen
Upscale, a little pricey but delicious and the atmosphere was wonderful
Shane Beachler
Food was amazing, service was extremely good, nice clean restaurant. If you are in the area I would recommend eating here. It can be a little loud if it is full like it was tonight. Overall a good dining experience.
Langston Brooks
My server was John and he was awesome. My 3rd to Minneapolis and 2nd time to the restaurant. Service was great. Hostess was pleasant and the food was amazing.
Mary “Staz” Y
Incredible food. Great patio scene. The crab cakes revival Oceanaire’s, and are definitely one of the best I’ve had in the cities. Also I’m completely addicted to the espresso there as well now, better than most cafes.
Mary Isaacs
Our server Jen made our night. She had great suggestions from the appetizer to the dessert and let us take our time! The food was amazing including tuna, calamari and scallops appetizers and tasty pasta.
Stacy Brantl
Jennifer was our server and Sue was the MOD. The bartender was also amazing #burnsvilledude It was our anniversary as well as our 1st visit and I can say we are in love, everything was above and beyond. It's our new favorite place. They truly went above and beyond and we've already discussed our next visit! Thank You for making it such a great experience, thank you for such a great meal Ciao Bella 😁
Randy Olson
Great experience! Well staffed and the staff is wonderful. Great service and delicious food. Bar offerings are substantial. Wines, bourbons, and some unique cocktails. Nice decor and ambiance too. Anxious to return.
Jason Adams
Update: still amazing three years later. One of the most consistent restaurants you'll ever find. I've not been here in seven years after moving abroad but eating here tonight was like eating here last week. Thank you for a wonderful evening CB.
Jason Bourne
Amazing wine selection. Wonderful staff. Excellent food. Try the crab cakes. Very busy but understandably so.
Sara Glassman
This is a class act! Great food from tuna ahi crisps to flatbreads to Bella burger. Great wine list, smart and snappy staff. A lovely patio… even though it’s in a parking lot. This is the best way to spend a summer afternoon.
Sebastijan fino
This place is an amazing place to sit and enjoy a few cocktails and the food is absolutely amazing. I personally prefer the patio seating myself. But the inside is very fine dining with specials ranging differently every day. I came in quick for a small meeting and had great quick service which was so professional, I wanna to say thank you for the great hospitality and positive energy. You will definitely see me again.
James Trevino
Food and service is excellent. I've been there four times in the last month and tried something different every time. The noise level from the patrons talking is borderline intolerable. It's the food and service that brings me back. If you looking for a quiet, intimate atmosphere, I would recommend choosing somewhere else.
Buena Mitchell
One of the best halibut dinners I've had right up there with spoon and stable
PJ Jones
Had another amazing meal last night for family of 5. Always the most professional and wonderful service with terrific appetizers and delicious entre. Linguini Di Mare full of delicious seafood and homemade pasta, just one of many great dishes. Compared to say Cov Edina--better food, warm and cozy atmosphere, service a notch above, better prices. One of my favorite restaurants in all of MN.
Terry DeSchepper
This place is now is one of my top placesp that I have ever eaten at. To begin the service staff was fantastic. The food is so fresh that the halibet looked like it was just swimming this morning. I was a part of party of 4. We started with Bruschetta and the Baked Chicken Springroll appetizers. Our entrees included: Fettuccine Chicken w/ spinach fettuccine and a Pinot Grigio cream sause, House Made Ravioli, Red Pepper Linguini w/ Scallops goat cheese and citrus wine sauce and the final entree was the night special. Seared Halibet over a bed of risotto. I will be back again and again.
Jeffrey Blum
The seafood special I chose was pan-seared trout over farro and tomato sauce-excellent, especially when paired with the German Riesling ($9 a glass). The Sonoma Pinot is pictured.
Tasha Embry
Super busy, but my party didn't have to wait since we made a reservation. Server messed up the drink order, but immediately corrected the situation (I ordered a top shelf long Island and received a top shelf margarita = $5 difference). Otherwise, the atmosphere and spacing was perfect for my party of 9, with COVID considerations. Food was great. I got the mushroom risotto; filling and delicious! Even though there was a mistake made, I will be a returning customer.
Alicia Geiger
Food was great, but the our server made the whole experience wonderful! Jennifer is by far the best server i have ever had! If you go here, request her!!
Eric Morley
I literally had not been to Ciao Bella for 10 years. I was so pleased to see that it still offered a spectacular menu, great wine list, and friendly service. The sea bass was amazing! It won't be 10 years before we go back!
Z
Amazing experience! Absolutely delicious food and wonderful atmosphere! Went here with a group. Initially the place was really busy and loud, but we were seated in a nice quiet area. Our hosts and waiters were so courteous and kept up on the refills. Our food was served fast and everyone loved their meal. Will definitely be coming back in the future!
Rocky Olson
This is hands down our favorite restaurant, the one we gauge all others by. Love the food, love the staff! Especially Susie!
marz hamilton
What an amazing experience! The waitress and chefs went above and beyond making this night special and delicious! Awesome win selection as well! Cheers!
Beverly Krietlow
Our server was excellent as well as was our food. We shared the shrimp appetizer which we definitely would have again.
Jamie Dayton
Had lunch here. Service was great and observed others going the extra mile for tables. Had the Walleye Sandwich. Delicious, but was a tad salty. Fries were perfect. Fresh table bread was warm, soft, and crunchy all at once. Will be back to try dinner. Need a reservation for guaranteed seating. We got lucky in the bar area.
amber rentz
The food was delicious and the service was wonderful. Definitely looking forward to coming here again.
Michael Kranzusch
Great place. Wonderful food and service. O Dools is not n.a. beer. Get a better choice please.
K K
I have been visiting Ciao Bella for 10 years now. It always offers exceptional food and exceptional customer service. Thea was our server the other day and she did a fantastic job. Personable and professional. I highly recommend stopping by for drinks and dinner.
Camile Pitts
I had my 50th birthday party there last night. We had 25 people. The event was flawless. The servers were very efficient, water glasses always filled, food came out hot and delicious.
Ambra Lindblom
I had a reservation on Friday night. The only downside of the experience was, my husband and I still waited around 15 minutes to be seated with reservation.
As others have said, the noise level here is probably the worst I've had, but, it was a Friday night with packed tables. My husband and I sat next to each other at a 4 top and still had moments where we struggled to hear each other.
Food was the best Italian I've had. I had the linguine and scallops and the scallops were out of this world perfectly prepared. Entrees aren't much more than the chain Italian places so this is absolutely worth your time and money. My husband had a pizza and it was also amazing and clearly brick oven standard. Wait staff and bussers were attentive and we'll prepared. Very impressed.
Julie Van Roy
Jeff was wonderful! We had food, wine, and dessert.
Mark Mendoza
I'm a meat and potatoes kinda guy and they delivered a perfect meal. A bit pricey but would definitely come again...
Foodie Delish MN
Great food and ambiance. The pastas are delicious.

The food was delicious. The menu allows for small or large portions on many items which was great since I was staying in a hotel and leaving first thing in the morning. I had an appetizer, entree and a dessert. All were very good. The only slight problem was that towards the end of the meal it felt like our server forgot about us. Luckily I had great company to fill the time
Alex Timm
Very good service and pleasant. Good food and atmosphere
mike haight
I have considered this restaurant one of my favourites. Dined here many times over years they consistently exceed expectations. The food pasta, seafood, salads are great. Can't wait to go back. Service is great!
Jason Herlitz
Food was fantastic. Service was terrific.
Melissa Prostrollo
Delicious food, every time I ate there. Even the bread is wonderful. Good for groups - with a reservation. Elegant yet casual atmosphere. But seriously, the food is so good. That's the real story.
Can get pretty loud in there, so that's something to consider if that will bother anyone in your group.
Daphne Torseth
I cannot emphasize enough how much I love this restaurant! It was my first time here tonight and I will definitely be back. Our waiter Zach Y. was very friendly and helpful. The tenderloin appetizer and filet migon was so delicious they practically melted in my mouth. Awesome service! Thanks guys ❤️
Theresa Aagesen
Fabulous food, fabulous environment, fabulous staff and manager!!
Jessika
For someone who doesn't usually like mushrooms the wild mushroom risotto was amazing! Such good food and service, will definitely go back
Michelle Perks
Delicious food, great service, wonderful atmosphere!! My friend whose a been a server for 15 years loved it so much she asks for an application to with there after we ate.... That's gotta say something right!?!
Lesley Zelaya
This place is amazing. You will love it! Food is great, patio sitting, servers are super nice.
Linda Obeid
We had a party for 15 here recently. The staff really takes care of you. The manger checked on us so many times. Food was great. I loved the risotto and all the desserts. The flatbread was great as well.
Great ambience.
Location is very convenient.
This place has kept up is quality over the years.
Ron Sarat
ate on the beautiful patio .very nice. service was very accommodating
Dave Pluth
Good food and outstanding waitstaff. Quite spendy
Holly Jackson
This restaurant always yields an amazing time no matter when you go!!!
Tommy Chic
Beautiful Italian restaurant with impeccable service and authentic Italian cuisine!
Robyn Smith
All around, an excellent dining experience! Melissa was an extremely knowledgeable waitress, very attentive to our needs, and so friendly and inviting. The atmosphere was a bit loud, but we were seated near the bar during peak dinner hours so it was to be expected. Food was phenomenal and made for a special evening I won't forget. Ciao Bella was the perfect choice for our 10th Anniversary dinner celebration.
Cheryl Svitak
The staff is fantastic!!! Our server Lindsay L. was the absolute best. The chicken parmesan and that sauce is to die for. My fiancée ate waaay more than he ever does as a person who dislikes veggies. The sauce was chunky and he still ate it up. The crab cakes are also delicious. I had the seafood linguine. Everything 110% on point. Thank you, i will absolutely be back. Thank you so very much!!
Elliott Miller
The dinner is amazing, there pastas are fabulous
Lauren Sims
We had a party of nine, three ordered burgers (they were okay), me and another person ordered the House Made Ravioli, it was THE BEST. Another ordered the scallops, and she said they were awesome. Two others ordered the fettuccine, and they both enjoyed it. Order the Italian fare, not the burger and fries. They have tiramisu if you are wondering and some unique desserts. Overall, a great place to eat. We visit this restaurant frequently for a superior dining experience. The food is always top notch, as is the service. Next time you make a reservation ask for Jerome. You won’t be disappointed.
Jessica Koblas
Never disappointed whenever we go to Ciao Bella. To be honest, it gets better and better with each return visit! The service and food on our last visit was by far the best yet! I can't wait to go back!
Priscilla Cole
Wonderful Italian food. Knowledgeable staff. Can get very busy and quite loud during happy hour. Parking spaces are at a premium, but if you get there outside of peak hours, it's not too bad. Great place for large and small groups. Be sure to make a reservation if you have a large group or are dining during prime lunch and dinner hours.
Christofer Sears
Great as always. Consistently great food.
Patti
Made reservations for dinner. Arrived on time and were seated in a booth near the kitchen. The server took our drink order and we waited for our drinks, and we waited for our drinks. Eventually even the gentleman who brings the bread and water noticed we had been waiting for a while. Finally, the server brought our drinks. She mentioned that we were seated in a "pick up" table. This means no server was assigned to our table, anyone could pick it up. The servers assigned section was across the restaurant from our booth.
We ordered an appetizer and dinner. The food was delicious! The manager noticed my wine glass was empty and he put the order in, the server was busy in her section. Eventually I got my wine. The manager came by a few times but the person we really needed was the server.
I am disappointed that we were seated in the "pick up section" with a reservation. There were many open booths and tables around us. Our server was very pleasant but she was busy in her assigned section.
We will be sure to ask if our booth/table is in an assigned section in the future.
annabanana
Lovely, fresh food. Did not leave me feeling heavy like many restaurants. Instead, I felt light and satisfied. The ravioli was exquisite. The gelato was a refreshing end to the meal. No corners were cut. Thoroughly enjoyed the experience.
Lisa Thuringer
Love Ciao Bella! Heather was fantastic! Superb food , impeccable service, beautiful restaurant. Thank you for making our family celebration a memorable one!
Thiyagarajan Sridharan (Thiags)
We had our team happy hour at the private room and they just exceeded our expectations. To start with the communications over email to book the place and finalze the menu was so easy. Our server was just amazing and handled our guests with utmost care and patience. Smiling all the way and was prompt to attend and help with the preordered appetizers which was so delicious. We had 9 different items and eveyone really enjoyed the food! My fav one was the flat breads, baked chicken spring roll & grilled beef crostini. Thanks for having us guys your team is just amazing !!
Mark “Killerkram” Morales
Very good. It's a bit more expensive but for good reason, very nice and spacious, excellent food, amazing service. I love meat and my wife is vegetarian, this was absolutely no problem and our server perfectly gave many options for her. We both loved it. Definitely will return!
v c
Love the outside. Very comfortable even with the high temperature and humidity. Tried to get a table inside but it was way too loud to have a conversation. So we decided to sit outside. Staff was very attentive and friendly. They didn't look harried or sweaty from the heat and humidity. The food was very good. Overall we enjoyed the 2 hours we were there. Didn't feel rushed to leave, just enjoyed our conversations.
Eric Majerus
I have yet to have a bad experience here. The steaks are delicious and even the sides are very good. I've ordered a few cocktails and they were good too, but the beer selection is decent as well. Atmosphere is fancy but not snobby and the parking is free.
Michael Harmer
Food and staff are top notch. There are so few places where they demonstrate an appreciation for your business and this is surely one of them. Hands down my favorite restraunt in all of the twin cities.
Tehryn VanSickle
Went here on a whim while in town on a trip. Service was great, super on top of our needs and always checking from afar to see how our drinks were sitting. Had decided on something I felt comfortable with, but after hearing the fish specials, and her recommendation, I went with the halibut special. I could eat that meal for the rest of my life and never get sick of it. Would highly recommend eating here!
Nivian Moraa
The ambiance and service was great, but I'm giving 3 stars because of the food. I ordered a salmon dish, the salmon was good but the potatoes were very undercooked, almost raw. Considering the price of the dish, this should not be the case as I didn't eat half the plate.
J M
THE best restaurant in the Twin Cities. Period. One of the best in the state. The best kept secret of the Cities if your a foodie.
I've been going to Ciao for over 15 years+ and never had a bad experience, ever. Waitstaff is excellent, BY FAR the best service I've received in any restaurant consistently. Chefs/food prep absolutely top notch in all regards. Ambiance is PERFECT for a date/anniversary....IMO, the best decor in MN.
If your looking for visual displays of "food art" (you know, tiny portions of pretty colors)...look elsewhere. If your looking for TOP QUALITY food, presented in true culinary style....this is it. Prices are excellent for what you receive. Class act.
David T
First time dining and the scallops were delicious!
Leika Schmidt
Do you want to impress your date with amazing food and Lively atmosphere? I met my boyfriend here and was wined and dined to the point that I decided there should be a 2nd date. Service is top notch. Food is so comforting and they even make virgin piña coladas at your request. Get any of the seafood dishes or steak. Then go on more dates, but definitely try this charming place out.
Sebastian
Our Server April is always a delight and remembers us and our orders each time we come. This has quickly become my wife and I's favorite restaurant. Great food and fantastic service.
Nancy Jones
Great food and cocktails with amazing service!
Phyllis Larson
Ciao Bella is always very good. The food is tasty, we ordered a pasta not on the menu and they were happy to accommodate two of us. The service was excellent and very timely. We were on one of the side rooms so it was easy to talk. Very positive experience.
Joe C
Excellent food. I ordered spaghetti and meatballs and it's one of the best spaghetti and meatballs dish I have eatened. The service was very quick, despite that it was fully packed and during lunchtime. Being fully packed restaurant could also tell you that people know where good foods are located. I definitely recommend you to try out this place if you savor for delicious Italian food. Highly recommended. I will definitely come back again!
Debbie Bergtholdt
Delicious food and great service. Try the pork chops. Amazing.
Corrine Morstad
Great place for my birthday! Food and service excellent!
Anna Larson
I really enjoyed this restaurant but was a little put off by the noise level when we were there. Probably a one-time deal but I think the tables near us were all hard of hearing based on the yelling conversations. But the food was good and the wine selection was large. We will definitely be going back to try again since it might have just been that one time it was that loud. Would recommend to wine lovers and groups of people- they have large tables there
Jim Bono
Ciao is the finest Italian place in the cities hands down. Great staff, even better menu selections, spacious inside and on the patio.
B D
Great food, great service. Nice set-up and relaxing atmosphere. Been going there over 15 years, never encountered an issue. The best part? We are given time to eat, and not being rushed to turn the table over.
Nick G
Ive been here quite a few times. Sometimes there are imperfections in the service, but when the service is good, everything is on point. Today was one of those days, so Im updating it from 4 to 5 stars. The portions are pretty small, my girlfriend and I arent big eaters, but even so, we order the large portions and dont have any leftovers, plus we get dessert. The lasagna and house made ravioli are so good that after I am finished I want seconds. With a glass of wine each, an appetizer, two entrees and dessert expect to pay around $150.
Bob Boerschel
I went there for lunch. Meal was good.
Kevin Weilbacher
Great food, great service, great wines
Beth Havlik
We had amazing meals and our servers, especially Jessi, were so helpful and attentive! Loved the Pesto Seabass, Mushroom Chicken Risotto, and Tortiglioni Rosa. Jessi shared her favorite recommendations and kept us well fed with apps, entrees, and desserts. Can’t wait to return!
Derek Sachs
I took my wife to Ciao Bella for our first Valentine's Day together. The restaurant is very nice inside, and there is plenty of parking. After we were seated, it took the waitress about 5 minutes to come ask us for our drink order. She was nice, seemed pleasant, but also just wasn't "on". After we ordered and she left, she came back and asked us if we wanted bread. This took 10 more minutes. She brought us our food. My wife enjoyed the lasagna. I ordered one of the specials of the day (Lobster with Risotto) which the lobster was very dry. It didn't come with butter, which may be the norm here, but if that was the case I would have expected the lobster to be less dry. It looked and tasted like it was under a warmer/precooked. The Risotto was wonderful. Before we left, the waitress picked up the signed check/bill and promptly opened it to see her tip. I feel she was judging my wife and I and upset we didn't go all out on food and drink.
In short, the restaurant/food was better than our waitress. It may seem like I am being picky, but we were before the rush of dinner and a good waiter/waitress is more on top of things than this one was. The food/menu showed promise and we will be back, however when we do go, I sure hope we don't have the same waitress.
prerna bhandari
We went here on Valentine's day with high hopes as it appears to be a fancy Italian restaurant .
I am not complaining one but the server that served the appitizer bread ( which was fresh and tasted good with fresh olive oil and smooth cheese ) was a little rude .
Anyway , the lady who served the main dishes was friendly .
I ordered a vegetarian ravioli in spinach , cheese & tomato and chicken risotto.
The ravioli was average and risotto was below average. Had it been any other restaurant , I would rate it higher but this one being expensive dinner and recommended on yelp, I was expecting it to be more tasteful.
Laurie Azine
Great food - pizzas, salads, pastas and flatbread. The bread they bring ahead is warm and tasty. They have a well shaded patio for outdoor seating in the summer.
Dennis II
Excellent food and service, I personally recommend the waiter Donnie, I've been eating here for a few years now
Wishenna Taylor
Food was absolutely delicious! Such a wonderful place to have gotten engaged! They were in on it and handled it with such class! Elegant place, although a bit loud.
Meagan Wojtysiak
The food was great and wonderfully prepared. Priced just right for the quality. We were assisted by not just our server, but the manager and the assistant who was always on time filling up our water glass. You don't always notice those little things until they happen. It made our first experience a good one and we are sure to return.
John Aloysius
The food here is wonderful. The service here is wonderful as well. They took the time to look after our table even though it was very busy. Our server Shannon was very friendly and went out of her way to make sure we were satisfied. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone, although the vegan/plant-based options are limited.
Ashley Nelson
This is my absolute favorite restaurant in the Twin Cities and I make sure to go for every special occasion (and just normal occasions) :) the food is incredible and service is very top-notch. The wine list is fantastic too!
Irene Cole
We had a party of nine, three ordered burgers (they were okay), me and another person ordered the House Made Ravioli, it was THE BEST. Another ordered the scallops, and she said they were awesome. Two others ordered the fettuccine, and they both enjoyed it. Order the Italian fare, not the burger and fries. They have tiramisu if you are wondering and some unique desserts. Overall, a great place to eat.
Tyler Jensen
Went there for a business meeting, so I got to try quite a few of their appetizers. All the appetizers we tried were very good. The server we had was attentive even with the restaurant being busy while we were there. The only reason why it's not a 5 star rating for me was the pricing. I would not normally go out to eat at a place this expensive.
Joseph H Sneddon
This is a must go place for all your dining out needs!
Jennifer & Jason Simmons
First time visit. We sat outside for lunch. The atmosphere was great. Trees gently blowing in the wind and access to the bar if needed. Wait staff was on top of it, glasses didnt get empty and the food was amazing. I had the crabcake sandwich definitely would have it again.
George “Homeslice” M.
I had the braised rib with a glass of house red wine, which was excellent. We sat outside under a heat lamp, and the service and view was great. Dinner entree was about $28, with the wine and gratuity the cost was$49. Recommended.
Veerav Naidu
I had a wonderful experience at the Ciao Bella restaurant. The food was very well prepared. The portion sizes was not too big like I had first thought because they had two plate sizes for most of the entrees on the Dinner menu. The menu itself wasn't too big as well. My favorite part of my meal at the Ciao Bella restaurant was the dessert. I had the Budino and it absolutely scrumptious. The staff was very nice and open as well. They were very welcoming and willing to cater to any questions and requirements we had about any of the food on the menu. They were also very knowledgeable about the food itself and were able to make some great recommendations as well.
Stephanie Courtney
Excellent food...excellent service. Go there at least 3 times per year with same friend for an enjoyable "catch-up".
Karthikeyan Rajaram
This is one of the finest dining places if you have an appetite for Italian cuisine. We went on a weekend for dinner with two other friends and the found ourselves in a long waiting line though we had a reservation done in advance. But the wait was over quickly and we were showed our seats after a long walk(the place was that huge and buzzing). Since me and my wife wouldn’t eat meat, the host for our table was very understanding and gave us the right options of food to taste. The complimentary garlic bread along with the olive oil and pepper was too good. We started with a plate of caramelized Brussels sprouts that was fantastically prepared and then plates of House made ravioli and Classic Lasagna. Everything tasted amazingly well. We only wished that their serving portion could have been more for the cost on the menu. Nevertheless, this is one place you would definitely want to try!
Pete Ziolkowski
Classy place, good food, friendly service. We'll be back for another special occasion!
Becky Sandberg
Had a drink by myself in the bar before meeting others. Very comfortable space. Service was good. Appetizers were delicious.
alli_at_the_helm
Absolutely delicious! Great quality and wonderful atmosphere.
Stephen Padilla
I was here several times back in the Spring. Now, I am back in the Minneapolis area on business again, so I made sure that Ciao Bella was my first meal this trip! The specials are amazing, the service is outstanding, and the atmosphere is wonderful. Although I miss my family when I'm traveling, I'm blessed to have found this place.
bill mills
This place never disappoints. Outstanding food and service. I mentioned I was trying out the Keto diet and they came up with an outstanding meal.
Patrick Dougherty
Upscale (white tablecloth) with top wait staff. Scallops can be hard to cook properly but they were done perfectly in my Linguini di Mare. The linguine was spicy enough to be interesting but did not overwhelm the properly cooked seafood.
Love Puppy
Food was delicious and server was great. It's a very busy place. Great Italian food. I ordered the spaghetti with large meatballs and it is one of the best spaghetti I've ordered from a restaurant. Their chocolate cake was scrumptious! You might want to make a reservation if you plan on going there after 6, even on a week night. The second time my hubby and I went there was on a Tuesday night at 7 and the hostess said its a 45 mins wait. We waited for about half hour before we left.
Their outdoor seating is beautiful, but unfortunately, there are smokers there smoking in the "designated" area stinking up the entire patio.
Rod Chaffee
My wife and I stopped by for a late lunch and it was really good. I like club sandwiches and their's was delicious. Good fries. I had a cup of spicy sausage and kale soup. My wife ordered the Margherita flatbread and that was nice too. Service was great and everyone was friendly and outgoing.
Lacy Loos
Always friendly service in the bar area. We typically sit in a booth in the bar with our 4 year old after I get done working around 8pm on a weekend night and we always have a nice time. Attentive service, food has been consistently great and the sourdough bread is warm and yeasty.
Fahad Malek
Great Ambiance with great food. Expected fresly grated parmesan.

From the exquisite décor to the top notch service and cuisine, Ciao has proven how to marry stellar service and food selections. To dine at Ciao Bella is more than just a meal, it is truly a complete experience of all your senses.
The management and staff effortlessly take care of guests and show their appreciation. Kudos to chef Jason and his team; Manager Patty for her elegant attention to detail; Shannon for her gentle and professional service!
I send a big hello and thank you to Rick for keeping this incredible restaurant going. And lastly... Viva la Limonetta Bella!
Ciao a tutti
Tammy Rodriguez
Always a dinner stop when in Minneapolis. From the pasta to the pizza to the walleye, everything is fresh and tasty. Great wine list, too.
Stacey Dasta
Beautiful place to have a romantic night, celebration or dinner out with friends. The fresh bread served at
your table is delicious.
I had a parmesan shrimp pasta dish.
The dish was good; but on the dry side for my tastes. The shrimp was nicely cooked and could have been moister.
The pasta dish would have been more appealing with parmesan cream sauce.
The prices were on the high side since all the food is priced separately.
Salad, entrees, dessert, etc.
The staff attentive and friendly.
Paul Ferris
We ate here on a Friday night. Our service was incredible.
The food was excellent and the drinks and desert were very good.
My wife claimed that it was the best Parisian chicken she'd ever tasted.
A bit pricey but for the service, food and atmosphere, a great value.
Joel Blackstock (LICSW MSW PIP)
The decor was a little too Cheese Cake Factory for my taste, but the food is really good! I had some Basil tomato soup that was easily the best I have ever had anywhere. The salads were great and the bread made in a wood fired oven is delectable.
B Major
The menu was excellent. I'm a repeat customer. They offer something for just about everyone. The service is timely and not rushed. The wine selection is wonderful. Take some time and enjoy the food with some good company.
Lori Steinhilber
What a wonderful restaurant. Classy without being snobby.
I was traveling for the week with a co-worker and did a search for somewhere local and out of the ordinary. The service, quality, food, pricing, atmosphere and attention were outstanding. I absolutely loved the wine list or should I say wine book.
I told my Minneapolis friends and family about Ciao Bella and will definitely be visiting again.
Tina Morrison
Simply the best!!!
Hands down, the best Italian restaurant experience I've ever had. Such a gorgeous restaurant with the best homemade Italian food, much of it organic as well. Prepared perfectly and served hot. We are looking forward to returning the next time we visit Minneapolis..I can't wait!!!
JEFFREY CRYDER
Service is just great. Neat cocktail service area... food is super. Any steak is always a safe bet. Prices are quite reasonable for service quality ambiance mix. While in edina, worth a trip from anywhere in the Metro.
Arjun Bandari
The restaurant is crowded at weekends but that wont spoil your date at all. The lighting and ambiance are subtle and decent, i loved it.
They have a great collection of wine and if you are new to wine the staff will help you out with out hesitation.(Happened to me)
The bread they serve at the beginning was hard and crispy for some reason, it was instantly disappointing. But when the wine came in it made me feel a little better obviously.
The moment he served me my spicy crab spaghetti, i could sense the flavor and taste with the looks of it.
I loved the level of spice, the meat was so soft it almost melt with your bites. The spaghetti and sauce match perfectly with each other.
I'am not a fan of italian food but this dish changed my opinion about the genre.
I would have rated it 5 but the bread was so disappointing.
100% recommended to others.
P.S: Check for reservation on the weekends, prior bookings are recommended.
Vicki Wilkin
Was there for a private birthday party. The staff did fantastic as we were 20 people. We all had a great time and nice to see each other.
Shad Owen
I haven't been here in a while but I had one of the best meals here I've had in a very long time. Met a friend and all three of our meals were perfect. My only feedback is that I wish the restaurant wasn't so brightly lit and little more quiet. I also realize that maybe I'm a grumpy old man who wants to sit in the dark restaurant and eat in peace, maybe enjoy my dining companion. Why can't we turn down the lights, turn down the music, light up some candles and have a romantic dinner? Is it the fire marshall?
Paul C
I have been here dozens of times. Their walleye is simply the best available. I have had it every time I have been there. That is how good it is.
Full disclosure, once they were out of walleye, so I had ravioli. It was also very very good.
Great atmosphere, but a little noisy.
BobaTea Sophie
We were waiting for over an hour and we were in a bad mood. Thankfully, they were super kind about it and paid for our 150$ meal! Our waitress was very kind. Her name was Jen, she made our night! Be thankful if you’ll get Jen as your waitress.
Jerry Wheat
Love the patio, service was good. Salmon was overcooked and lunch specials were overpriced at $30. I will go back and try the standard menu.
Emily Simanek
Their fresh bread is out of this world, and the staff are fantastic. The menu has great options for any diet and everything I've ordered has been delicious!
Maureen Gabrysh
Very pleasantly pleased with our meal, our first time here will not be the last. Calamari was done to perfection, i had the fettuccine chicken hubby had spaghetti meatballs we had to bring some home, Excellant server
Peggy Vanden Burg
Pizza was very good. Waitstaff were on their mark. Good ambience. The best part though was the delicious caramel custard topped with caramel corn. It was so good, we ordered another!
Jim Lumley
Food and service were great. The noise unbearable.
Oleg Potapenko
Wow. That's how I would describe the food and the hospitality. The steak was right on the potatoes were yummy (real yummy) the dessert is only thing I did wrong I should have got the big piece once tasting it is when it hit me. Wine is wine but I do recommend the Remy Martin XO cognac with the meat, as for service Seth is the gentleman to to see. Not to say they lack in other areas but Seth is awsome. Thank you Seth. Did I mention right before I got there they had put up these privacy glass pieces between the tables for a safer covid-19 experience, fact that it was new completed the 5 star rating because they didnt stop improving and I think they would keep improving because they take pride in making sure their hungry people are comfortable and safe, there is patio seating if you prefer more air, not that the inside is cramped by any means.
Paige Clark
Beautiful restaurant! Loved all the architecture and different materials used-wood, brick, iron etc. The food was equally as put together and delicious as the atmosphere. I had a cesar salad, fettuccine with chicken, and tiramisu and can't wait to go back! The fettuccine sauce was incredible and chicken was perfectly cooked
Eli Flores
This is an upscale restaurant in Minneapolis, serving very good Italian cuisine. They have both indoor and outdoor seating. It is very important to call ahead for a reservations as it is hard to get into. They do offer nightly specials, but their menu items are very good too. This is a higher end place so expect to pay at least 25 to 40 dollars per person for a good meal.
Louis W.
Always a lovely place to eat, whether for lunch or for dinner. Very authentic Italian cuisine with great service. Their waitress April is the absolute best!
The location is quite convenient and parking space always ample. Prices are more than reasonable.
Greg Garritty
Love the atmosphere! Great patio and nice comfortable seating. The food is top notch with the Tortiglioni Rosa being my favorite. Love the bread too! The prices are a little too high though for me to give them a 5 star rating.
Kev Moe
The Avocado flatbread was top shelf...add some arugula to really put it over the top. Scallop app is rubbery but the brown butter sauce saved it. Don't bother with the egg rolls. The Salmon special with polenta was excellent...and I don't even like polenta! Service was adaquate.
Freda Lee
We came here for special occasions, never disappoints. I would say food is expensive but so worth it. Risotto was good, fish was fresh and tasty, fried calamari delicious, even when I was full, always make room for desserts. Yes, it is that delicious.
Wes P
Wonderful time on the patio. Sea bass and halibut were done perfectly. Service was appropriately attentive. We went mid-afternoon and it was not busy.
Mike Fjelstad
Very nice restaurant, great food, great service
Tyler Smith
Great food, fantastic staff, excellent ambiance. I have no criticisms to offer, no nit-picks. We had a great evening. The food was ready quickly, cooked to perfection and tasted sublime.
L Kleiner
I love this restaurant SO much. The food is fantastic. Make sure you make a reservation enough ahead of time. All of their pastas are amazing even reheated. Wine selection okay. Perfect place for every occasion. I hope to make it out there soon for an evening out with the girls.
Joelle Ambrose
This restaurant is a great place for lunch and dinner. The setting is very nice and the staff are very friendly. Our waitress new the extensive wine menu from front to back. A little on the expensive side, but I was told everything in the restaurant is handmade, even down to their pizza crust.
Igor Komisarchik
We had a great experience there on valentines day. Our server did an amazing job and the bill was very affordable
Justin Walker
Great fresh take on Italian dining with local fish. Short menu, long wine list.
Kari Dorsher
Fabulous meal! We had red pepper linguine w/scallops in citrus sauce and braised short ribs w/mashed potatoes and carrots. Limonetta Bella for dessert was the perfect choice - fresh and creamy - two can share or they have a small taste size. Great wine options and a variety of casual options. We can't wait to go back and try more menu items!
Sudhanshu Thanedar
Authentic Italian restaurant with lots of options. The meat and cheese plate was a bit smaller than I expected but was delicious. The entrees were excellent and so were the desserts. Overall it was a good dinner.
Amy Feeken
From the atmosphere to the wait staff to the food the whole experience was wonderful and beautiful to the eyes!
Antonio Lomoro
I eat linguine ai frutti di mare and because I am Italian from south italy Bari where we eat row sea food I can say that the linguine were realy good .
Barb Smith
We loved it, we haven't been there in 15 years. We will definitely go back. The food was amazing. And our waitress was awesome.
Chad Pelzl
Our waiter Donnie was great, very personable and answered every question we had. The food and atmosphere are fantastic. I would definitely recommend going to eat, and meet friends and/or family.
Thank you to all for a great time and food.
K Vortex
Ciao Bella is an outstanding place to have a great meal. They always go above and beyond for their guests. No exception. The food is always amazing.
Chaya Milchtein
Let's start with the good, the bread was incredible and the atmosphere is pretty nice. I ordered the tomato basil soup which was thick enough to be a marinara sauce. The seafood linguine was not hot and wasn't to amazing. I had to ask for bread but then it was given graciously. Maybe I just ordered the wrong menu items but I'm not too impressed.
Brad Sankey
Great food and decent service. A nice wine selection by the bottle but by the glass leaves little to give you any excitement. The food and atmosphere is worth the trip.
Bindhiya Laxmi
The ambience is really nice. Their heirloom salad tasted really good. Eventhough in the website they have mentioned there are lots of vegan options I did not find many. In fact the waitress suggested only the heirloom salad.
Bill Johnson
Very nice restaurant! Great food. Had the crab cake sandwich. It was excellent. Service was 5 star! The only negative is it was a bit noisy during lunch, but the restaurant was full with people which is a great sign of a great restaurant! Highly recommend!
Mars Overlee
We could not a reservation for 10 at 530 on a Sunday but 515 worked ? Why 15 minutes made a difference still not sure why. We arrived on time. Still had to wait five minutes to sit down. After we were sat down it took several minutes for our waiter to show up. We ordered a few drinks and it took over 15 minutes to get the drinks and we didn't see your waitress again. We then wanted to order and were able to order but it took quite a while she was nice but she just didn't seem like she was on the ball. Food arrived and most of it was good some people that ordered their food found that it was dry and it needed some extra sauce so we requested it. We finally had to ask again for it and when it showed up it was more like soup rather than white sauce. Overall I give it three stars because when you have mediocre service but good food that's what you rate.

Outstanding! Melissa was our server and she was amazing. She knew every wine and menu item. She was able to match our tastes and the food was delicious. Definitely will be going back..

Very comfortable patio seating tonight, I was a bit distracted by the small petals falling down from the vines, but ok. The lasagna was NOT a standard dish, its flavors were very exciting. Our Server was constant with a beautiful smile and ready to assist us. She put it to a 5 star.

We just had dinner here for date night, and it was thoroughly amazing! Our server, Jeff, was incredible; great suggestions, personable, impeccable timing, just all around wonderful! Probably the best service I've ever had! Better yet, the food was perfect! We had the maple glazed salmon and ravioli. I suspect I'll be dreaming about both for weeks. Thankfully we saved room for dessert, because both the Budino and the Tiramisu were melt-in-your-seat delicious! I can't wait to go back!
Mari Marttinen
Lovely food and environment- was a little noisy but also a busy Friday night so totally fine! Would definitely recommend and go back.

After reading the reviews we decided to try Ciao Bella. Best decision we could have made! Food was outstanding, menu suggestions by our server Denise were fantastic, as was her service, we will be requesting her when we return. The staff worked together, water glasses were kept full, crumbs swept from the tablecloth and it was busy but we were well taken care of. The experience was perfect!

Phenomenal food
Wicked quick wait staff
All in all, a great place
I see a lot of reviews here talking about how this place is pricey, but frankly, it is a little more than say Red Lobster which doesn't come close to the food or speed of the wait staff. 2 nonalcoholic drinks, two entrees, and 2 desserts landed us a bit above $90. So yes, prepare to pay, but it is very worth it and so are you, so get that tiramisu and let your troubles fade away.

Looking for amazing atmosphere, wine, and food? This is the place to go! Love Ciao for all of the above, plus the staff is even better! Definitely recommend dining here!

I tried the crab cakes, parmesan crusted shrimp, spaghetti and meatballs and my favorite, the spicy crab spaghetti. This place is spendy but it is worth it! I do wish the crab cakes we're a bit bigger though. Every dish and dipping sauce were amazing. The service was see of the best I've experienced as well. Staff is very attentive. I will be back for special occasions.

Excellent food and wonderful service.

Has a great reputation and thought it was pretty good. My chicken parmesan was overcooked, but everyone else at the table thought their meals were excellent. The appetizer was great. I would go again.

Perfect for a date or just a night out. Been here many times and have yet to be disappointed. Scratch made pasta dishes are wonderful, especially the spaghetti and meatballs and tortiglioni rossa. The pork chops are amazing and the parmesan shrimp are delicious. A great restaurant overall and really nice patio with its own bar.

This is an upscale restaurant in Minneapolis, serving very good Italian cuisine. It is very important to call ahead for a reservations as it is hard to get into. They do offer nightly specials, but their menu items are very good too. This is a higher end place so expect to pay at least 25 to 40 dollars per person for a good meal.and it's very romantic restaurant for Aniversary and birthday,s and very nice Ambiance.Waitstaff is excellent, BY FAR the best service I've received in any restaurant consistently.

We were at Ciao Bella for a company function for the holidays. It was a great atmosphere even though we only had drinks and appetizers. The food was great the drinks were better and the bartender made our night. I'm sure we will frequent Ciao Bella on a personal level as well.

Great food, helpful staff.
They have light, heavy, or creative dishes. Something for every mood. You won't leave hungry or dissatisfied.
The wood fired ahi tuna is one of my favorites.
Every time I travel, I come to this restaurant.
Keep up the good work!

Place was amazing!! They had some great food!! First time visit and wont be the last. We had to sit at the bar cuz it was pretty busy but that was perfect for our group! The service was great and the atmosphere was awesome!!
Michael Birkel
Great food. Friendly staff. Tons of wines to choose from. It's just a bit noisy inside due to the layout. The bar sounds bleed over pretty hard to the dinner area.
Nels Paulson
I know this place is not cheap, but if you can afford it you will be happy and content. I have been fortunate enough to react there several times, never had the same thing twice, and everything was fabulous. It has become a tradition for my family when in MN.

Excellent Italian food. Awesome atmosphere, will be back!
My only gripe: portions were small for an Italian restaurant. Still plenty for 1 but no leftovers :(
Update: I’ve been here quite a few times since, and it’s quickly becoming my new favorite “go-to” the food and service are fantastic.

So we mistakenly came during lunch with the intention of having dinner, (we eat dinner early, at around 4). The food was spectacular, and is the epitome of fine Italian dining! Our server was very friendly and accommodating, and made sure we always had a full water glass, and just made it a really great experience. We unfortunately had to leave earlier than intended, but we will definitely be back again in future!

Great pasta, gnocchi and fish. Excellent service and atmosphere. Haven't had a bad meal yet 🙂

Food is grate. I did order sea bass.. cooked perfect

I've been several times now when in town on business, and the food and service are consistently excellent!

loved the heirloom grains salad (and I'm not normally into that sort of thing!) spinach ravioli left me wanting more - probably the sauce felt weak. gets very popular for business dinners and the like - they seem to be able to support larger groups with ease.
SaltedSoul
Great food. I really enjoyed their lasagna and I look forward to dining in there at some point in the future.
Michael Stiegler
Great food, great service, great atmosphere. My dad asked for something not on the menu and the chef made a delicious version of it anyway. (It was pesto and it was fantastic, made from basil they grow at the restaurant.) My risotto was amazing.

Visiting Minneapolis, 7/16/2017, we stayed in a nearby Hotel and opted for later (8:30pm) dinner after a long, weekday. The sign, the building, the adjacent patio dining all look up-scale. We were in nice shorts and casual wear and my wife and kids seem to think we wouldn't fit in. I reassured them it was okay.
So, it's a very nice restaurant. Beautiful, dark wood, variety of tables and booths with and without white linen table cloths throughout the dining area. a Separate elongated dining area with long, nice drapes for privacy if desired, perhaps for a private function. Definitely up scale both in and out.
We were seated at a nice table and chairs (no table cloth which was good). The waiter was friendly, engaging and informative. We saw several other patrons in shorts and casual wear as well as nicer attire. The room atmosphere was nice, good temp, good contemporary music playing.
White wine for wife and I, water for the kids (milk with dinner). There is a kids menu that worked well for us (buttered noodles always work!) and then a good dinner menu with just enough options/variety. Wife and I started with Crab Cakes which were excellent especially with the the dijon and truffle aioli. Main courses, I had the Herb Grilled Organic Salmon, wife had Classic Caesar Salad, our 16 year old daughter had Margherita flatbread and two other kids buttered noodles. Warm, fresh bread came with the meal.
Our waiter continued to be friendly and engaging and still kept an air of formality which I liked. Water was filled regularly and forks replaced after the appetizer which confirms again more upscale. For my wife and I, the wine list was sufficient, plenty of options by the bottle, more limited by the glass. We passed on dessert but the menu was good for us.
Menu prices were on the strong side but not unreasonable. See their online menu for actual prices. Each of us declared our food was very good, my son even saying those "are the best buttered noodles" he's ever had. We all left very satisfied. If this restaurant were near our home, we'd go regularly (at least my wife and I).
As it was literally across the street from our hotel, my son and I walked back. It seems out of the way and kind of isolated but surrounded by large office buildings so I imagine it gets good corporate lunch, dinner and bar business. The patio also looked nice. While this was a family dinner for us, and they offer a kids menu, I would not characterize this as great for younger children.

Great servers and a very high class restaurant. Dress code is fancy. They have very good food to choose from and authentic Italian cuisine. I recommend trying the root beer they have in bottle. Henry Weinhard root beer is the way to go.
Michael Howe
Consistently great food. The staff and ambience make it well worth trying if you haven't already.
Ashley Dawn
After all these years the food, ambiance, and service are still impeccable. Linguine de Mar was awesome and our dishes resembled authentic fresh Italian food.
Jay Chauncey
2nd time enjoying this gem. The bar area is refined and relaxing with a mixed group of professionals and casual fare. The Halibut Verde (special) was awesome and paired nicely with a reasonably priced bottle (markup is still puzzling, but not gauging). Great food, AWESOME service, good price.
Kris Grindle
Went for a late lunch with my son, not dressed up, but in casual clothes. Michelle our waitress was fantastic and treated us very well. My son had the ribeye sandwich that was delicious. I had the salmon special that I found VERY salty and reminded me of something that was thrown together for a Monday leftover meal. Michelle offered me something else, but since I had eaten half of it (I was starving) I declined. She and the manager had my second choice made for me to take home. Even though I wasn't happy with my meal, they wanted me to have something else to try and make our experience worthwhile. Kudos to a great staff - they are the ones that make a quality restaurant even better.

Loved this place....never been and the service and food was outstanding. I had the spicy crab spaghetti....I didnt want the sauce it. Came in so the waitress said she would surprise me....she got me a vodka sauce and it. Was on point. One knock would be i got the tomato basil soup....and it. Was basically tomato sauce....not good at all. But other than that worth the money for sure.
matthew amundgaard
Food was great and the staff were so much fun and great at what they do. Very knowledgeable of menu items and the daily special. We really enjoyed our time there. I enjoyed the salmon special.
Dennis Crowther
This was the first time having take-out from this restaurant. Usually ate inside and found the take-out experience not as fulfilling. The food was not as good as good. The spaghetti was dry and the pizza was overcooked.
Jeff Peterson
The best part about this restaurant is that it's spacious and so showing up without a reservation isn't a big deal and you don't have to wait very long. Otherwise, the food is quite good with a lot of complex flavor. I highly recommend the heirloom grain salad and the tortiglioni rosa. Getting both will definitely leave you with leftovers (even with the half portions of both) but both are extremely hearty with a lot of complex flavor. Otherwise, the chicken risotto is also pretty good but may be too heavy or salty for some tastes.
Bottom line: if you want nice Italian food at a reasonable price without a reservation, check this place out.

Been here twice. Food was good and the service was excellent. I have only been in for lunch so far. Ahi tuna burger was great, fries were below average. They really do have great service! Impressed both times.
Bristen Irwin
So good. Like over the top delish!!!delight!!!! And if you have the pleasure of having Seth as your waiter, you hit the ultimate jackpot!
Elliott Jones
Great service. Delicious food. It's busy every day for a reason

Mike the bartender exceeds professionalism and expertise in his craft. The entire staff is outstanding, welcoming and of superb quality. Like family with each other and with the customers--Special bunch.
Oh! And enjoyed the Bill Mack original Hollywood Sign- the Sophia Loren piece! Details matter.
Edwardo Ander
One of the best restaurants in Minnesota. The whole staff is trained very well and are all professional and experienced. Food is always phenomenal and their specials are always top notch as well. Great atmosphere and patio as well
Gary
Good food, bit of a pretentious atmosphere. Lunch time the place is packed with the power lunch crowd. Dining room is huge, kitchen is efficient, waitstaff are uber-professional. The three times I've eaten there it's been very professional,, just lacks a certain fun touch- I prefer smaller more intimate restaurants with some character. Ciao Bella is just a bit sterile for my taste. Wouldn't go there with the family for a celebration or on date night. Would go with a work group who wanted to meet over lunch.
Levi
Very nice atmosphere, excellent food, reasonably priced, but the pepperoni goat cheese and jalapeno pizza is ridiculous very very good
Thaddeus Jockheck
In a single word: Authentic. Ciao Bella makes everything they have in house. The breads, sauces, drinks, and not a single microwave in the entire place. The food is beyond delicious. They fly fish in from various places to get the best and freshes foods. Yum! Service felt top notch as well, the employees take pride in their work.
Portion sizes are the normal expectation. And prices aren't over the top. Salads and Sandwiches for ~$15 and bigger ticket items for ~$30. My personal favorite is the Linguini de Mare, it's pasta with seafood in every bite.
Abby Eckert
Amazing fresh food. We had pasta and the Bella burger. Both were delicious. Great patio. Wait staff was extremely knowledgeable about the menu. Highly recommended!
Bryan Curry
Over all a wonderful Italian place. Great service and management. The Brussels Sprouts were very odd. My girlfriend and I get them at almost any restaurant who serves them and these were by far the worst I've had. Mixing a vegetable like this with some overly sweet caramelized something did give a good flavor profile. Actually left a bad taste in our mouths and we sent them back. The complimentary bread is very good though along with our entree. I had the Housemade Lasagna and my girlfriend had the Summer Linguine. We will back for sure to try some more entrees.
Cornel Beard
Amazing food. I had the natural chicken with fettuccine and Pinot Grigio cream sauce and it was delicious. Our server did an awesome job checking in with us and making sure we were enjoying ourselves. Will most def go back here soon.
Cyndi Zarbano
Martini's, crab cakes, and pasta dishes are Divine! And the bread alone will bring you back again and again. The service is always superb! Also a very nice wine list! What are you waiting for?
