Hands down best pizza in St Paul! Been coming here since college and happily introducing our kids to it as well. It's our favorite spot for family pizza night. The seating is comfy, the food is delicious and there are always good beers on tap. The cheese bread is legendary, don't forget to try it.

In its genre, this is the best pizza in the world. Even the historic Chicago tavern-style/thin crust establishments don't come close to the experience of eating a large sausage pizza from Carbone's on Randolph. This pizza deserves a place among the greats. Worth traveling for.

I have loved Carbones since highschool. Great pizza! I love that it's a local shop. I was worried the remodel would change it but it's still the best pizza! The original counter is still there, but now it's a lot brighter and more airy. The pizza is still as good as ever, and you can still pick it up to go. The only way to improve this place is to offer delivery!

I grew up near here and I remember coming here as a kid. When I heard it was being remodeled, I thought they might be ruining an institution, but this place has been totally transformed for the better after the remodel. However, the pizza is the same and as good as ever. Love the new space with the bar! I will definitely be back.

The LaFay is the best pizza in Saint Paul. We get it way too often! Service is always wonderful, food is consistently spot-on, and the wait is always very reasonable. Carbone's on Randolph is def one of my top three pizza spots in Saint Paul. Affordable and always delicious.

Stopped for lunch and had a 3 meat Italian sub with chips and pickle and a lunch pizza with salad. Both were delicious. Great prices, excellent service, you cann't go wrong coming here. BEST Carbone's in town!

The pizza is sliced in a unique way here, where the "slices" are more like individual cracker-sized pizza slices. The pizza doesn't particularly stick out from other pizzas, but by no means was it bad.

Classic thin crust awesomeness! I love this place as it perfectly recreates the pizza I loved growing up in my hometown as a kid and teenager. It's a perfect combination of what makes the perfect pizza: excellent crust, delicious sauce, and fresh toppings all with great service.

I'm not going to tell you carbone's is the best pizza, that's a very personal choice. I will tell you it's my favorite. Carbone's is exactly what I expect from a local pizza shop. They remodeled recently and although a little of the charm from the old restaurant is lost, all the things that mattered remain: the people, the location, the menu and the prices. I'll never stop coming here, it's my favorite.

The food is adequate. The beauty of this place is it's a neighborhood joint and you can walk there. It is kid friendly. It is also budget-friendly. They have a decent beer selection. Ironically my least favorite part of the places I actually don't like the pizza. That's not to say it's bad just a very particular kind of pizza.

Great neighborhood pizza joint! VERY friendly staff (never had to wait or even ask to have my pop topped off...) and WONDERFUL pizza! This is a Twin Cities tradition. Never had a bad experience here! Great toppings, wonderful crust, and you don't have to ask for extra cheese, there's a ton on it! Yes, you seat yourself, it's not that hard to figure out. I've never been there and had to wait to sit down. And lots of takeout going on all the time. If a place is around over 50 years, there's a REASON for it. Go and be prepared to make your tummy happy!

What great can't I say about Carbones! I love this place. I came here to the Randolph location on a cute little date with my son and his father and the food and service were just spectacular. We sat and watched the Twins game while sharing pizza and meatball subs. There is such a warm, family, comforting vibe that just makes you feel you're at home. I have been enjoying Carbones for 30 years now and have Never been disappointed. It simply perfect! The meatball subs had the perfect combination of cheese to sauce to meatball. The flavors complimented each other so well that it just melts in your mouth. Many try their hand at meatball subs, but Carbones knocks it out of the park! Most importantly, they have some of the BEST PIZZA in the Twin Cities! Get there and try it!

Have been going to this restaurant all my life, both pre and post renovation.I am glad to say that the quality, which is outstanding, has not lost any of its vigor. This is a primarily flat pizza place, with eat in and take out. 10/10!

The best! I grew up in St. Paul in the 60's and remember coming hear with my dad. It has not changed one bit. Kids can watch them make pizza from the window. It still taste the same and restaurant hasn't changed either. A throwback to the 60's. We drive in from Apple Valley at least 10 times a year just for the best pizza in the twin cities. Thin crust and great ingredients. Yum Yum.

Delicious thin crust pizza! And prosecco. It was a perfect place to be in a snowstorm. Update: Sunday night dinner (11/3/2019). Pizza was great when it finally arrived. Two of us had the spaghetti and meatballs. One had a personal pizza. We had finished our spaghetti and meatballs before the pizza even arrived for the 3rd person. The staff just kept saying it would just be a few more minutes. No adjustment to the bill. Sadly, extremely poor service.

Nice pizzas and reasonable prices however service can be sometimes a little too slow. Last time waited over 30 minutes after ordering for a basic pizza. Had to keep badgering the server to get an update on the food. Good service makes a difference!

Quaint and yummy. Love the frosty root beer mugs. It's the site of many family gatherings over the years. I got the margarita with plenty of veggies and the all-beef meatballs. The rich garlic flavor is intoxicating. They specialize in pizza so don't expect a huge range of Italian fare.

Food was mediocre. I have always enjoyed Carbones as a twin cities staple but pizza and cheese bread were way too salty and caesar salad was wilted and warm. Normally very happy with Carbones just not too many good experiences with this location.

Workers were friendly but service was veryyyy slow. It took almost 15 minutes of us sitting there before anyone even came to take our drink order. Cheese bread is very good but I can make better spaghetti at home. Havent tried the pizza yet.

Very nice remodel. Same great pizza with red sauce and salty mozerella. Neighborhood feel. Filled with locals. Better wine/beer selection than before the remodel. The bar is used for people to eat at. No unruly guests here.

A Cute little Restaurant on Raymond Avenue in St. Paul...that has had a makeover and been remodeled recently!! I met up with my Cousins here and my Aunt and Uncle and they ordered the lunch special which was a salad and a small pizza!! It just smelled delicious and there were so many good toppings on their Pizza!! I had an Antipasto Salad which was very good!!

I love this place. Food is perfect for a pizza place. So took a friend for a birthday last night dec. 21, 2019. After being seated could not get service. Waiter stood at next table chatting for almost 15 minutes than left. My friend got up and hailed him. Had to locate someone to get a fork. Wait people just stabding around. Another run to get water. Finally after long wait got check. Gave up on psying. Went to front and paid. 0 tip. Hope owner finds and gets rid of this staff. Update. Went back. Owner was very helpful. Called. Listened. Tonight we gobbled an excellent thin crust pizza. Service was top notch. Place has a great family vibe. Food perfecto!!

Helpful, cheerful and fresh and the not so young have a sense of what service is all about and the builders of foods one of quality and perfection. Service and quality being driven home to staff by the owners. Toney called me one day right before or during remodel. Congratulations our new digs. The only thing that is lost is having to do a slow dance when people are coming. Your staff and food are amazing 😀😀😀😀😀

I drove my mother in law to St Paul to see her 2 sister's for most likely the last time. The are all in their 70's. Apparently they had been customer's since the place opened way back and they wanted to eat at Carbones one last time. I had never been there before. Although in their 70's, they can be quite RAMBUNCTIOUS. The waitresses had a great attitude and the Pizza was PHENOMENAL!!! I live in Grantsburg, Wisconsin and visit the VA often. Carbones will be on my to do list for now on because of the Food and the employee's. Thank you for everything today.

The waiter's need to come to the table they are waiting on a little more often to ask if there's anything you need. We waited a long time to get a refill, and they won't look at you when they're walking by, so it's hard to call them over, and they all stand behind the counter and talk to each other, and won't look over. So hard to het their attention! Other then that, it's a pretty good place!

My favorite pizza place in the Twin Cities, been going here for almost 30 years. The service is always hit or miss as it seems a majority of the staff come from the local colleges so there are barely any full timers. Plus, it is very old school and still has the front window where you can watch the pizzas being made, great for kids.

I 5 star Carbone's pizza because it's a cool place to hang out at and they just remodeled the place and it looks real nice more space to move around and brighter too. Me and my girlfriend go here alot real good food all around real good cheese bread with sause and I love the pizza too and they have one of my favorite beers here too grain belt nordeast. The staff is real cool got to know some of them from coming there alot got to talk to the owner a couple of times too. If you are looking for real good pizza with a friendly staff I would recommend coming here I think you will like it here.

So, this place is cute and has a friendly vibe. I prefer the location on east 7th, simply because the pizza is not so salty. Something is really salty about their pizza, not sure if its the sauce our cheese. Possibly even the toppings, idk.

The pizza here is Awesome...especially the fresh garlic that they put on it....well worth the 14 mile drive everytime....friendly Staff. *Update* Visited first time since the remodel... It's very nice, but it also took away from the "back in the day" atmosphere... I understand progress, but just sad that the new environment is too " industrial"or "warehousey" for me, I liked the old interior, quiet, more character, but food is still awesome, and I hope they do well!!!

Food is great. The dining room is painfully awkward so I usually just order to go. For whatever reason they won't play music in the cramped dining room. They have an overpriced jukebox so I always end up spending too much money to play a few sings. It's pretty sad when the employees thank me for putting on some music. I would go there more often if they didn't do that and love going to the Rosemount one.

The pizza came out with the cheese barely melted and not brown at all. Apparently, I was supposed to have known to order my pizza with the cheese "golden brown." Who eats a pizza with the cheese barely melted? The waitress should automatically ask the patron how dark they'd like the cheese.
