Enjoy the supper club feel. Great place to have classic supper and food. There are great classic drinks from the mid west old days and a good beer selection. Staff knows how to work a table and area with the right amount of attention to customer and perfect attention to detail.

The food was ok. The popovers were disappointing and the chicken that I added to my risotto was strange. Odd texture and tasted a bit like seafood. My husband really liked his dish-a seafood stew type of thing. The bathrooms were shocking. They were dirty, dingy and looked worse than gas station bathrooms.

Feels like a old fashion supper club. felt a bit lonely when we arrived but someone eventually greeted us. I was expecting more of a fine dining exp. I heard this place was awesome, just feels like it might be slipping a bit. Good fir a biz meeting maybe not a special occasion.

This was our 2nd visit to Axels within 2 weeks. This place just keeps getting better. My husband and I enjoyed our 38th anniversary dinner here. Food was great and the service excellent. Great customer service all around!

Came here for the first time to attend Easter brunch 2019. Great variety of food including prime rib, crab & penne, custom made omelets, cheesy hash browns, delicious breaded walleye, and more. Plus for 10 dollars more you can get unlimited mimosas which sadly I couldn't partake in. I'm coming back next year!

I really like going out to eat at Axel's in Chanhassen. They have really good appetizers. They also have excellent prime rib. They have a full bar if one was looking to have a beer or drink with their dinner! I have been here multiple times and have never been disappointed. As for dessert they have a tray they'll bring around to show you what they have and you choose then they'd bring that out! I will definitely go back!

Met another couple and had some really great food. Coconut shrimp was delicious. Bring your wallet as this is not a cheap place to eat but you get what you pay for. Wait staff were all really friendly and engaging.

The best part was the service by our server, Marisa. She was polite and very friendly. Mixed reviews from our table on the food. Not a lot of choices and most are expensive. Some of our food tasted better then others, we liked the spicy penne, though it really wasn't spicy. The Axel burger was underwhelming. And the decor was dated. We went on a Saturday evening and it wasn't that busy. I would probably actually give it 3.5 stars if I could.

Much more expensive then the last visit. We ordered great salads, Ceasar and cob. Has to box up left over cob salad because it was huge. Steaks are expensive. $70 for ribeye including sides.

Still doing it right after many years in business. Service is speedy and friendly and they have answers when you have questions. They will try to make you whatever you want if what you want isn't on their menu, just ask. The popovers are still complimentary and delicious.

This was an overall disappointing experience. The fish was great, but the sides and apps seemed lackluster. Our server was also not super friendly, but everyone has a bad day and frankly I'm amazed most servers keep it together. All our meals were supposed to come with salads and we never got them and we had to ask to get a price reduction as a result. The mashed potatoes I had were room temp at best. The portions are great for the price, just not a great experience this time out.

My sister and I came here for dinner tonight. It got pretty busy shortly after we sat down and the bartender was awesome throughout our whole experience. Between taking care of the bar guests, making and pouring drinks for the dining room, and maintaining the bar area, she was hustling like crazy but still super friendly and was having conversations with everyone. A really nice experience overall!

A foursome went to Axels before a performance at the Chanhassen. We made the waitress aware of our timeline, and she was very attentive. The food was excellent! The other couple had French dips and they said they were the best they'd had, and they were huge. We were all happy with our choices. Excellent food, superb service.

I had the salmon, with a Ceasar salad, mashed garlic potatoes, and teriyaki green beans. Multiple other members of the group and I all had some issues with the amount of salt used in some of the sides. Very salty. The waitress also was a bit forgetful, but it happens. Bathroom was looking a bit on the older side, but still clean and functional. The penne wasnt noticeably greasy when served, but when reheated the next day it seems to be very greasy. Other than those things, good food.

Whoa is this place awesome. We got take out; I was a bit skeptical about getting a steak to go but Axel's managed to not only make the food perfectly, but the presentation was even nice! We had the filet, horseradish cake, green beans and mushrooms, and everything was perfect. The atmosphere inside seems really cozy, can't wait to return when we can dine in!

Just had the best dinner over here. Happy hour got me $2.75 beers, which is fantastic. I got the 10oz sirloin and it was cooked to perfection. Our server, Marissa, was very patient, answered all questions, and was very polite. Would recommend to everyone.

A week ago I had the same thing and it was really great with a great waitress. This week, not good. Out of Sauvignon Blanc for 4 days now. Hubby suggested they get a case from total wine. Oh no, they couldn't possibly do that! (At $13 a glass they would still make a hefty profit.) So, no any kind of Sauvignon Blanc available which is what I want on a 90 degree day on the patio. Bruschetta was cold and stale this time. Bacon almost non existent on the wedge salad. Waitress seemed to be put out that we were there.

This place has atmosphere of an old speak easy. Most of the time it was very easy to talk at our table of five. Great attentive service, went for the fish fry. Salad, popover, 2 shrimp, 2 cod filets, 1 walleye filet, house green beans (light teriyaki glaze) & french fries. Lovely dinner! ps - a Colorado bulldog (yes the drink) for $5.85? Popovers were excellent and the salmon on my salad was so perfectly cooked that I almost wondered if I have ever had a proper salmon. Ate there at lunch even though it has a feel of a supper club (dark atmosphere, lots of wood). Great ambiance and a perfect place for doing business over lunch.

I think this place USED to be great. They serve popovers before/with the meal. Normally popovers are delicious when served hot, these were not. The Rissoto tasted as if it had been reheated. My wife's summer salad berries were 2-3 days over ripe. The waitress was pretty friendly however. Maybe she lingered a little to long as we were having private conversations. In the end, the checks were confused and my sister was charged for one of my chardonnays. I had to ask for the server to perhaps comp something for the errors, which they did end up doing.

We were there on Walleye Wednesday, so we had the walleye special. Our meals were delicious and our server was personable. Service could have been a little quicker, but it gave us plenty time to visit. Overall excellent experience.

Go on Friday afternoon for the Beer Battered Fish Fry - 1 large piece of walleye, 2 large pieces of cod and 2 huge jumbo shrimp. Comes with crisp green beans in a teriyaki sauce (to die for), your choice house or Caesar salad, and their signature popovers with maple cinnamon butter (yes, we ordered a few of those to take home too). Happy Hour drink specials - $2.00 off including call drinks. Marissa was our waitress and she was fantastic! The gal she was working with was wonderful too - didn't catch her name.

Quiet little quaint restaurant with a very nice decor. Prices were fairly reasonable and the food was absolutely delicious. Wait staff was very attentive. Make a reservation beforehand and ask for the private corner booth that Prince himself used to sit in when visiting this restaurant back when he was alive. (It's a quick hop, skip, and a jump to Paisly Park.)

Since I had a poor Mother's Day review, I'm giving a shoutout to Axel's in Chan. Everything including the service (came around at 5:59 for happy hour last call) was amazing. The deviled eggs had gd shredded prime rib on em, the Cajun chicken soup had the most amazing texture. I've never seen onion rings that big and the most tender steak bites. Ask for Ashley!

Enjoyed thanksgiving dinner at Axel's. The meal was fair, the atmosphere warm, service is always excellent. Mashed potatoes were a bit salty. Salad a bit too wet for my taste. This was a mass produced meal, my prior visits were top shelf. Not having been here for a while I will have to go again for the regular menu to provide a true assessment of the kitchen.

Went for happy hour, loved how busy it was💕 Unfortunately I didn't like the cheese burger flat bread 😜 super skimpy, at least it wasn't experience off their happy hour menu. To be fair though they were out of the original choice of the chicken flat bread option. Also, service was great!

We just had take out delivered to Eden Prairie. OMG it was delicious. Well done, my wife had the Cioppino and I had the butternut squash ravioli. Can't wait too see you all in person. Kudos to the chef and the ownership.

This used to be a great restaurant. However the last few times we have been there our service has been poor and the food has not been good. The bun on my sandwich last night was so hard I had to take the top off to eat it. They don't give the popovers with honey butter or our waitress just wasn't interested in working last night. We won't go back for awhile. I hate to give a poor review because it used to be fantastic. Last night was not a good experience.

I visited with a large group and the staff was very accomodating, keeping up with the additions to our order as more people joined us late. The manager also came to check on us and make sure that we had everything that we needed, and was very friendly and had a good sense of humor. This was our second time at this location and both times we're outstanding! All you can eat crab legs on Tuesday night, the popovers, soups, salads and side dishes are delicious! The bartender, David is the most friendly and accommodating we've had anywhere in a long time! We'll be back just to see him!

Good ambience. A place settled in a nice quiet place. Great drinks and dessert menu. Though there are no entree options for vegetarians, but a few side dishes, one dish could be a great add in the menu. The service is good otherwise in general. Parking is available too.

Very first time here at Axels- Chanhassen...Service was amazing, we had Marya! Wonderful lady, attenative to all our needs. As for the food, no complaints other than the Prime Rib could have been a little less fatty. However other than that everything was beyond expectation, will definitely be back! Warm and comfortable decor with rustic light fixtures. Both the table chairs and the booths are easy to sit in. The cocktail bar is a great place to meet at and hang out. Excellent Sirloin steak prepared medium rare as I requested. French onion soup was average, "loaded" baked potato is misleading, sour cream and butter is not "loaded" IMO. Vegetable was beans and carrots with an odd tasting sesame seed sauce, actually grew on me a bit. Popover and butters were not much to speak of. Good service although it was a Sunday night and completely dead... Not a bad joint.

I live in Milwaukee Wisconsin & wanted to reserve a nice table for my boyfriend to surprise him for his birthday. We were in town visiting Paisley Park. I reserved a table Saturday March 31, 2018 & asked for candles or anything elegant. These two beautiful ladies named Sophie & Stevara not only reserved the Godfather private table for us, but they went out of their way to decorate the table saying "Happy Birthday Quinlan" and adding candles & rose petals. It was beautiful! The medium steaks were seasoned better than most restaurants & the lobster was just right as well! We will definitely return!

Meh. Overpriced for what we got. They're the only upper scale place in the area, so I think they're getting a little lazy. We had spinach artichoke dip and it was quite blah - 90% cream cheese, 9% spinach, 1% artichoke. Bread wasn't toasted very much. Food wasn't bad, but wasn't good either for a $13 app.

This last weekend I went to Axel's with my wife and friends. I had the Walleye dinner and the others had different entres. As the first course I had the seafood chicken chowder which is delicious enough that it could be a main entre. The Walleye is amazing. For the Whiskey Manhattans were relaxing and tasty. Axel's is truly one of my favorites.

We went for all-you-can-eat crab. For me that was very little. I don't eat crab. Too much work for too little payoff. My wife's family will eat crab until someone makes them stop. This time it was her 10 month old nephew who made them stop (impatient kids can be very useful sometimes), otherwise we might still be there eating crab. My ribs were pretty tasty too.

Axel's has several restaurants across the Twin Cities and each has its own vibe. The Chanhassen Axel's has a nice bar (pretty big) booths, a fireplace and even a "hidden corner table" with a curtain for a more intimate dinner date or anniversary. The food is great and the energy is always good too.
