Reviews of Smoke Shack
Rejoice Alibio
The food was a bomb of flavor and deliciousness! Even without the sauce, the meats were so good. We had the combo platter, Chipotle creamed corn, four cheese mac, and pecan pie. My personal favorites were the brisket and creamed corn. We got ribs as well but they were a little dry. The place also looked great in its rustic glory. A nice patio seating is available if you'd like but we sat inside and it was cozy. Service was pretty slow though, but I hope it's better next time. Would definitely recommend!

The Pig Mac sandwich and mac and cheese was very good. The meat was tender and had good flavor on its own. There were also 5 choices of barbecue sauce on the table that were all very good and added to the experience! The mac and cheese was the perfect combo of creamy and peppery. Overall, a good atmosphere with great food!

First time at smoke shack. Great outdoor seating; Each table has a fire pit. Our server was very attentive and fast with service. I wish the food would’ve been warmer and more seasoned but overall it’s a great restaurant.
The portions are just right. I recommend the brisket and sausage.

Great location. Very cool decor. Amazing service. Super fresh food. All the sauces were amazing and different from other traditional BBQ sauces. Rosemary wet dry wings were melt in your mouth good. Three of us shared the 5 meats available and four sides. We left with leftovers! Mac & cheese was fire as a side and the brisket was to die for meat wise. Nothing was subpar at all. I could highly recommend everything we had!

Excellent BBQ joint! I went in not sure what to expect from a Midwest BBQ place, and I was NOT disappointed. I would say it is some of the best BBQ I have ever had in my life. The sauces were excellent, the meat was cooked to perfection, and the sides were amazing. I would recommend Smoke Shack to anyone that has a hankering for barbecue. I will definitely be coming back.

Eating our feelings since the Dodgers lost, 😭. Old fashioned sweet, curds, brisket with Mac and cheese, and corn bread. The brisket was so tender and full of flavor. Mac and cheese was pure ❤️! For dessert we had the blue berry crumble and I had the pecan pie with bourbon ice cream. If you're ever in MKE check this place out!

My boyfriend and I can in from out of town and we just got a bunch of appetizers and it was very good and filling. We had wings, cesar salad, pork, and brisket! The brisket was by far out favorite and we will be coming back when we visit!
Han Kim
Wow best mac and cheese ever.
Collard greens slapped as well.
Shack daddy was surreal to be honest. Highly recommend!!!
The pecan pie w whiskey ice cream is a must if you respect joy in life

The place was actually very nice and clean in the waitress was amazing he made sure we had everything we needed and kept making sure he checked on me. That's the only reason why it's getting the three star I would not satisfy do tell when you go to a Smoke Shack you were expecting ribs and they were out of ribs. So instead I got this sampler platter which was a little of everything. The chicken was on the dry side and I did not like the fact they chopped the chicken up, the pulled pork was very tender it just didn't have enough flavor I was expecting a lot of flavor and all I got was the smoked flavor from the meat, good brisket it was pretty delicious. I was not a fan of any of the size except the cornbread that was pretty delicious with a crunch, the baked beans was not regular baked beans they were red kidney beans so they gave me like a Chili Vibe vs. Baked beans the coleslaw was extremely dry a bit of juice in it the macaroni I'm not a big fan of white cheddar macaroni and cheese I wouldn't visit again

Callie our waitress was great. Drinks were strong and pleasant.
Unfortunately, the meat, (ordered the sampler to try everything) the whole reason we came went to smoke shack was cold and dry on arrival. We did arrive on a Sunday so maybe it was fresh on Friday?
Not sure, giving three stars instead of two for excellent waitress service, decoration, and drink strength. The food itself was sub par (had to use a steak knife to get my rib meat off the bone) and the whole tray was cold on arrival. (The Mac and cheese and the beans being exceptions that were excellent)
Great to stop in for drinks and service but wouldn’t suggest the ribs.

Recently moved here from MO, this BBQ really hits home. I had the ribs, wife had pulled chicken, both were excellent. The sides (potato salad, Mac, mushrooms, slaw) are all great. Service was great and they have a good amount of drink options. Definitely would recommend to any friends from the KC/STL areas, doesn't disappoint.
Deanna Meyers
Delicious barbecue sauces! Meat was tender and flavorful without the sauces. The House sauce was my favorite! The fried pickles and cheese curds were tasty. Our waiter was very attentive.

This is a killer MKE BBQ joint. Great smoke, top quality meats and a wide selection. I did the two meat combo and added two bones. Loved the dry rub, the brisket was excellent, and homemade sauce selection was on point. Topped with great service and a pretty cool shack, I'll be back
Chris Derzak
Great place. Small, rustic, wooden. Feels good when you walk in
Price point is good too. Dinner for 4 was $60. No alcohol. + tip.
They use Toast POS also, so you can pay using ypur phone. Rock on!

I don't know about you, but I LOVE doing a late lunch like 2pm+ times where there's less people and I can eat more. I don't end up eating breakfast and end up scarfing down a boat load of food 😂
🥩Smoke Shack is the go to spot if you love barbecue and are in Milwaukee. Of course, don't go if you're from the south because you'll be disappointed 😂 I've been to North Carolina, Dallas, Austin, South Carolina and nothing is the same
BUTTT here you get a nice combo plate for $28.5 (3.5 extra on top of $25 if you sub ribs). We got quarter rack ribs, sausage, & brisket. It comes with two sides so we picked Mac and cheese and smoked mushrooms two of the waiters favorite 😋
📣Biggest highlight was the brisket and sides. Briskets literally melts in your mouth with the right taste, smokey, and fat levels
I think the racks were a bit bone dry . Maybe it wasn't as fatty or was left in the smoker for too long. Regardless still tasted good
They have a huge range of barbecue sauce, the best was their house bbq sauce. A bit on the sweeter side. There's another vinegary one which I loved
Don't forget they have drinks and stuff as well. more on Instagram @midwestmunching

You can't beat it. Dog friendly. Indoor and outdoor dining. Old blues on the speakers. Friendly up beat staff. Awsum ambiance. Of course the food and drink were great. Wife loved the pulled chicken sandwich and I had the Smoke House salad. Quite possibly the best I've had.
Emily Griffey
You could fully taste the smoke quality in the pulled pork, pulled chicken, and brisket we ate. We had full belief that we were going to get a picture of their combo plate, but we dug right in instead.
Their outside seating area was absolutely beautiful.
Ms.Z
I would not recommend the brisket here. It was the the driest brisket I have ever tasted. Everyone was ordering the breakfast items and they looked delicious! The bbq not so much. The service was great though!
Dalton Linkus
Had a half rack of the ribs with sweet potato fries and the chipotle street corn. The habanero bbq sauce was very good and spicy. Both the sides were great as well, especially the corn. The ribs were the let down though, they did not have a lot of meat on them and were on the dry side. For a place known for their bbq I was let down by that part. The service was great though and a cool atmosphere.

The best Mac and cheese in town. You cant leave without having the Bourbon Pecan Pie...oh my so delicious and the sausage was juicy
Marisel Rodriguez
Everything was great. The server was very nice. Fast service. Adult beverages were strong and tasty! The nachos were delicious. So was the Mac and cheese and coleslaw. Pulled pork was yummy along with the Corn bread and ribs. Glad we stopped in! It's a great place.
Ellen Oligney
Was here at 5:30pm, super fast service and delicious food! Favorite sauce was the kansas city. Cocktail was good and boozy too
Katherine
Friendly staff with a nice patio area.. Kyle is an amazing server. He's so friendly and attentive. Love him and his personality!
Dan Profio
WARNING: You're gonna get the meat sweats here. Brisket is always fantastic and so are the cocktails and sides. They even have a rewards program that I didn't know about and it automatically applied to my bill and I saved $30! Been here a few times before and it's always consistent.
Tatiana Carvalho
Love this place!
Huge fan of the brunch! If you haven’t gone check it out. The biscuits are always amazing and they have Bloody Mary and mimosa flights. I love that they have vegetarian options (especially the poutine).
The patio is cute and the staff is always nice. The patio is dog friendly and they’ll even give them a little chicken treat.
Robert Bowers
Had the ribs, brisket and sausage. Really good. Ribs weren't fall off the bone tender but perfectly spiced. The pecan pie had a nice hint of burboun to it. Filling tasty meal for a reasonable price.
Cyndi Kramer
This was a first time visit and I'll start by saying the staff was outstanding! Prompt greeting and seating, ice waters and drink orders taken right away.
The menu covered all the meat bases with some vegetarian options. There were several sauce options for the meat and the kitchen was super nice about finding lean brisket on request.
The fries were delicious and the coleslaw was fine, but note: it's a more savory version, not a creamy sweeter kind. The cornbread was perfect and came warm with butter.
We ate early so it will sent particularly crowded, the atmosphere matched the menu. All in all, a good dinner out!
taylor
“this food is so fücking good” -the woman in the blue shirt. highly suggest getting cornbread, pecan pie, blueberry crumbl, and literally anything on the menu. get the root beer float with whisky. 10000/10
Michael Shivvers (Blues Archive)
We had a great time here. Easy to find in downtown Milwaukee. Decided on appetizers, which ended up being perfect. BBQ nachos, St. Louis egg rolls (Bbq pulled pork), and a brisket plate. Food was excellent
Chris Douglas
Being from the south where smoking meat is in our marrow I was apprehensive about eating BBQ in Milwaukee. The brisket was mouth watering and great. The smoked mushrooms were an amazing surprise. My waiter was friendly and attentive. They did a wonderful job.
enrico palazo
Amazing barbecue joint! Debatably the best in all of southeastern wisconsin, the chili is very underrated too and is a must try. Very friendly servers too like Clare, will make your experience even better! Definitely a memorable night and top notch service. Great unique bloody marrys too, kind of have a barbecue kick too them. They smoke all the meat each day and you can tell its got a perfect flavor profile to it. Tough to find good brisket in wisconsin but these people somehow find a way to make it happen!! Can't wait to go back.

Two places I Highly recommend in Milwaukee Wisconsin if your seeking smoked BBQ. Either this place, or Iron Grate. The smoke shack is awesome! I had smoked chicken 🍗 and ribs. If your searching for that hardy southern smoked flavor in your meat... These two restaurants got it going on. Cornbread was that grainy, need a glass of whole milk to get it down... Love it. Good normal BBQ sauce, The hot 🔥 has a sneaky kicker. Spotted Cow beer, Irish Coffee and your finisher....drum roll... A hot slice of homemade pecan pie topped with ice cream. Oh man, I wanna go back for seconds. It's that darn good. Finding this place, will take you off guard... It's surrounded by high rise buildings. However, keep your eyes peeled for a small wood shack looking house in between them. It's one of a kind, nice atmosphere and plenty of seating. Enjoy! Nice job guys! Another AAA+ in my book. See ya again soon.
Krista Konetzke
The food was fantastic and such a cool environment. The Poppop soda was amazing would order again.
Tiffany Glass
Had pulled pork, brisket, Mac and cheese and slaw. The meat was most. 4 different BBQ sauces rich with complex flavors
Ramsey_Jd
The setting of the restaurant was very nice, I love the outdoor patio seating and the fire at our table made it a unique dining experience. To start, I ordered a Smokey old fashioned but was a little dissapointed that it was way too strong and not an old fashioned sweet like I asked, I think they forgot to add Sprite completely.
The food was great, but there's definitely some things to mention. I ordered a brisket and Mac n cheese for $17 but was surprised that the portions were not very big, and my cut of brisket had a lot more fat than a normal serving. The sauces are all amazing though and I applaud that! I was still hungry after finishing this so I ordered a second mac n cheese(which was AMAZING) but for another $3 it still didn't fill me up (it's about 4-5 bites per serving of Mac n cheese)
Overall the experience wasn't bad and there's some things they do right but I think after spending $20+ on a meal I shouldn't still be hungry and im not convinced that I'd go there again but I wish them the best of luck!

First time. Ordered online. Parked in only spot, a loading zone space. The brisket was very good. Chicken, not so much. Very tasty white cheese mac n cheese. But, alas, I was a little late however, the food was not hot and was quite cool by the time I got home (10 min. ) Maybe go there again.
Jamey Sewell
This place, by far, has the best brisket in Milwaukee! The home BBQ sauce is the best I've tasted ANYWHERE. It can literally go on top of all food.
Not too fond of the signature drinks. They a good, but nothing I would repeat buying.
The atmosphere is designed to be no frills... which is actually quite charming. It's not comfortable, but it's definitely unique enough to ignore my discomfort
Nick Wolf
The food was good (could have been served hotter, but it was good). The portions could have been a little bigger (a side of ribs added to a meal for example was exactly two rib bones and meat). The server did not come back until after we finished eating, which was fine since we didn't need anything, but would have been annoying if we needed something. The food price was more than I expected ($80-$90 total for two people), so for me this was more of a treat than something I would do regularly. I like the interior, and they have fireplaces outside you can eat near which is pretty cool. The blueberry cobbler/crisp-type dessert was delicious. I recommend a reservation for dinner, as the only tables left without a reservation were outside when we visited for dinner.
Joseph Hohler III
The fried green tomatoes have a real thin piece of tomatoe in them, which is too bad, given the amount of crust on them. Still, they were good and had a lemon flavor to them.
The crust of the brisket has a good smoke flavor, even if the edges were a little fatty. The brisket was very tender.
The sausage needed a little kick.
The smoked mushrooms were good and tasted like smoked mushrooms.
Overall, good service and good experience, even if I wanted a little more flavor.
Jacob Forbes
Okay let's drop this review like it's hot. The brisket and pulled pork were super tender and juicy. The sweet tater fries were amazing. Good selection of sauses to choose from not a chain food smoke house everything made with love.
Jennifer Kim
Kansas City Eggrolls are a must. I like all the bbq sauces available. Great service, would come back again!
Marc Starvaggi
Wings were cooked perfectly. Pulled pork as well. Loved the pimento mac n cheese, creamed corn, brussels sprouts, and sweet potato fries. The cornbread was decent. Highlight had to be the house bbq sauce. Blew us away relative to the Texas and Kansas City pairings. Great value here!
Edit: returned a week later and tried the brisket. It doesn't taste smoked at all. I can't recommend it, but what U said about the rest stands. My partner really enjoyed the berry french toast though! Only taking off one star for the bad brisket
BIGSHCLUNK
Stopped in for the first time tonight. GLAD WE DID ! Great Bourbon selection. Really good corn bread. James was our server, rocked it! Had the blues playin' (which should be a requirement of any BBQ shack) I could have sat, drank and listened till close. Good brisket, good pulled chicken, and a great egg roll style appetizer. (Kansas City egg rolls). Will be back.
Becky Conness
Great food and great service!! Anthony our server explained the menu as it was our first time there.
I ordered the pulled chicken sandwich and my partner had the pulled pork sandwich. They each came with a side (French fries and Mac and cheese)… both superb! The wings were amazing as well!! Plenty of sauce selection.
So happy we came here!!

Food was amazing, atmosphere really good but I service lacked a little, not for fault, our server left halfway through and the next guy took great care of us. I've never had smoked mushrooms before and they were amazing! We will definitely return.
Brittany Lohmann
The staff was friendly; the drinks were cold and good; the food (we had nachos as an appetizer, shared a 1/2 lb brisket and some pecan pie) was all delicious. No complaints. Would definitely recommend!
Boyd Anderson
Welcoming staff and comfort food done right. The outdoor fire pit table kept me warm on a cool night. I tried to rhyme this sentence with all my might. But seriously, good all around atmosphere and menu selection. Four BBQ covered thumbs up.
Jill Mickelson
No non BBQ offerings. Wedge salad w/ smoked bacon was excellent b4 it left the menu. Smoked mushrooms are the best shrooms I've ever had by far- a must try. I just love the building and outdoor seating.
Mari R.
Great food and service. Nachos, pulled pork, Mac & cheese, and slaw were all delish. Cocktaiks were strong & very tasty!
Angela Schaumburg
Food was good but not very flavorful. Service was kinda slow but great atmosphere
Andy Freeman
Nice staff, cool venue, good food and a great bourbon menu. A tad pricey but worth it as a treat.
Joe Britton
The decor was great. Service was a little slow but it was a bit late at night. The food came out and was over cooked and cold at the same time. It was frustrating to say the least. Our ribs were way over cooked. The sides were the best part of the meal. The Mac n cheese and corn bread were my favorite.
Alex Evans
New chef in the building and you can definitely tell! Amazing service but even more importantly amazing food. Love sharing the platters and you can’t go wrong with the signature egg roll appetizer!
Debbie Dunleavy
Excellent smoke barbecue - all of it tastes great even before you pour sauce on it. They also give you a variety of regional versions of sauces, so if you’ve never compared Carolina style to Kansas City style, this is your chance! I’m a big fan of the Smoke Daddy sandwich because it gives you a sampler of three different meats - yum.
Noor Al
Great food, I loved the decoration, and old fashion was perfect 👌
Gregory Mulenga
After finding the restaurant we planned to go to closed, we did a quick Google search and landed on Smoke Shack. What a blessing! Fantastic customer service and absolutely amazing food. We will definitely be back!
Kay Kay
Smoke Shake was good, but not great! Customer service from staff was friendly and nice.vWe had the Sampler Platter. We also ordered fried green tomatoes. The ribs and brisket were tender, but lacked flavor. The pulled pork and pulled chicken was dry and also lacked flavor. You definitely needed sauce. The smoke sausage was really good. The 4 cheese mac and cheese was really good, the bake beans were okay. I didn't care for the coleslaw but my hubby did. The sweet potatoe fries were really good. The corn bread was good also the fried green tomatoes were great. Overall the meat needs more seasoning. With great BBQ you should not need any sauce, the meat should be able to stand alone. It's like they put the meat in the smoker unseasoned and that is not right. The price that you are charging, $69.00 for the sampler alone and the food was mediocre. Beaware the sampler literally only feeds 2 people and they do not even fill the sides container up all the eay. I know BBQ in general is pricey but I do expect my food to be great when I am spending a lot of money. The management needs to make sure that the food is cooked consistently the same way. Their chefs or pit masters are all doing something different and the end result is mediocre food.Maybe this was a bad day to eat here but I do not have money to waste.Needless to say I was not satisfied with my meal overall. I will comback for the fried green tomatoes and sausage. Maybe management will reach out after reading this and give me a food makeover for free, because I was screwed!
Sarah Schuiteman
Awesome little find! The customer service was excellent and the food was outstanding!
anne lucas
The food, as always, was delicious, but this review is for the service. Our server, Kenzie, was one of the nicest, best servers I’ve had in a long time. Keep up the great work. You made our lunch a pleasure.
Tess Halpern
We love the smoke shack- it’s one of our favorite places around town. Food is always amazing. The collard greens are off the charts. Brisket and sweet potato fries are incredible as well.
Nathan Duncan
Lesser known weekend brunch spot in the third ward that you can always get in without a wait during for brunch. The bloodies are spicy and the brunch menu is like biscuits and gravy elevated with through the beauty of well cooked meats.
Scott Larson
Neat place. Stopped here when in town on business. Small BBQ with good food selection, service. Reminds of an old southern bbq joint. Got here twice in the 2 days I was in town. Highly recommend if you get the chance.
zackary cody
Visiting Milwaukee and tried this place out because of the great reviews. We were not disappointed! Bbq quality is fantastic and the chipotle creamed corn is so tasty. Our server was very nice and helpful.
Monica Keith
We loved it and will certainly go back. Really nice experience outside and with the fireplaces and the heaters you feel warm and cozy. I ordered the pulled chicken and it was delicious (their bbq sauces are quite good), the mac and cheese is also really good. Corn bread is dry. My husband ordered brisket and it was very fatty, that's why I put 4 instead of 5 stars.
Benjamin W
Smoke Shack immediately catches your eye from the street. It's a comparatively tiny, ramshackle looking little...well, shack. This is a good thing for a BBQ restaurant in my opinion. It inspires confidence.
Visually the interior of the restaurant matches the outside and is what you expect from a hole in the wall bbq joint. There's something slightly odd about it though, and while this will sound weird in a restaurant review, it's that it feels too clean to be a good bbq restaurant. The thing about every great bbq joint is that the smoke permeates every surface in the building and you can just *feel* it. Smoke Shack feels oddly sterile.
Adding to that is actually the thing I noticed first when I walked in: no bbq or smoke smell. It just smells faintly of the reclaimed wood used to create the interior. Not exactly off-putting necessarily, just really strange for a bbq restaurant. I expect i walk in a be hit with a wall of aroma that hints at the meal to come.
We were seated quickly. Service was prompt, friendly, energetic, and generally very good.
The bbq itself tasted good if not blow-you-away great. Meat was tender. The sauces on the table all were good. The portions are what I would call small. I ordered the 2 meat platter which is advertised as 2/3lb of meat and 4 sides, expecting to take a box home. I was able to easily finish and could have eaten more. At $26 for the plate I'm looking for larger portions. I obviously didn't weigh it, so I'm not sure if the issue is that Smoke Shack is under plating or other restaurants are overstuffing plates. Regardless, the effect was that the meal felt meager, especially for the price paid.
Overall if you're craving bbq and you're downtown, Smoke Shack will scratch that itch, if not totally satisfy your hunger. There is nothing here that is offensive, and moreover I did like everything I had. But I also didn't have anything that I know I'm going to randomly think about at some point in the future and start craving. If you're downtown, give it a go. If you're in the suburbs you have plenty of better and cheaper options.
EDIT: I just want to acknowledge how quickly management replied to my review. I think this speaks to how much they care about the experience in their restaurant. I am sure I will be back.
Anneliese Sammut
I usually don’t write reviews but this place definitely deserves one! While stopping for the day in Milwaukee during our road trip, we came across this cool place and it definitely didn’t disappoint. The food was really great and the place was cool and hip. My boyfriend had the nachos with brisket and I had the two-meat combo with sweet potato fries. The fries were awesome, as was the meat. Glad we stopped by!
Carrie Mahar
Mushroom burger was fair. It had fake smoked flavor to it. Decent side options. The meat eater I was with recommends the brisket.
Alberto Comazzi
I gotta be honest: we walked in this place full of expectations because a friend of mine told me it was the best. Unfortunately the food didn't meet what we were expecting.
We got two combo plates (2 meats each plate: pulled chicken, beef brisket, pulled pork and hot link) + 2 sides (mac and cheese + sweet fries potatoes).
The meats flavor was ok but they were barely warm. We could have told this to our server but the place was really busy and we didn't want to be a pain in her neck :-)
The sweet fries were good and the mac and cheese were just ok. They literally tasted as milk.
Staff is really friendly and good and the atmosphere is really nice.
Maybe we just got in there on the wrong night since a lot of reviews are really good.
Leah Anderson
Pretty good barbecue for Wisconsin. The food and drinks are reasonably priced.
Christopher David Lawson of NEPA
The food was very good.
Service was good.
Portion for the price was just a tad smaller than most of my local BBQ places serve. Similar prices to most good BBQ though.
Tim G
We've heard alot of good rings about the place and we're disappointed when our food was only ok and came out Lukewarm and cold. Good atmosphere and friendly staff though. Maybe it was an off night. Also a nice selection of bourbons.
Michaela Sauer
Melt in your mouth brisket and delicious cornbread. Best southern comfort in Milwaukee. Super friendly staff and outstanding atmosphere!!
Anna D
Laid back place, not loud, cozy, staff are quick, especially the bartender, food amazing. Brisket fell apart perfectly. Two plate meat combo for two ppl was the perfect amount!
Andrew
The waitstaff was very helpful and the service was very quick getting initial drink orders. Our food came out quickly and the heated outside area was very nice. The biscuits however were dry and the gravy was bland and not enough given for the biscuits.
Michael Vanderscheuren
Stumbled into Smoke Shack after several hours of bike riding along the waterfront. At 8pm on Saturday, the lack of a crowd made me initially question our choice. But dang, it smelled good. The server was very friendly. The batch of fresh made kettle chips allowed us to sample their very solid selection if homemade BBQ Sauces. We settled on pulled pork sandwiches with slaw and Carolina sauce I've got to make a comment on the bun. It was not an afterthought. It had the right amount of soft, but it was not tasteless. It held up to the pork, the slaw and the sauce well. The pork was perfect and abundant. We opted out of fries for Brussels Sprouts. That was a solid call too. High marks for service, food quality and portions.
Jeffery Anderson
We went there for 2 reasons. We were very satisfied with both. The food was great and they had an amazing selection of whiskeys.
Tyler Devan
The atmosphere here is definitely the coolest part of the experience - they've truly made it feel like you're hitting up a roadside shack to get your BBQ like it's meant to be. That said, the food itself leaves something to be desired. The brisket was somewhat dry, but the pulled pork was good. Mac and cheese very tasty and the rip tips were good as well. Definitely not the best you'll have anywhere, but it holds its own for being in Milwaukee and not a true BBQ town. The chips they bring you to try the sauces are legit, but I should be raving about chips at a BBQ joint.
Andy Sirianni
Great place, awesome service, fantastic food. What more can I say!
I went in on a slow time on a Sunday and had a seat at the bar. Bartender was great, told me all about the food and the place. After giving me a chance to look over the menu she took my order and the food came.out pretty quick. It was good and fresh and I was very happy with my selection of burnt ends, with chili and a side of corn on the cob.
Tsai Daniel
Had combo with brisket and pulled pork. The meat might be a bit dry but will be good with some nice sauce!
Nate S
This place was good. Plenty of smokey BBQ on the menu but not so much to confound you. Seating is tight but not over-crowded. Food came out fast and portions were a plenty. No kid menu but plenty for kids to eat. Would definitely eat here again and we all cleaned our plates. Well done!!
Joan M
First time eating here and had an amazing dinner experience on the patio. Friendly staff seated us right away. Kirsten our waitress was spot on with her food recommendations, dinner was delicious, and we witnessed incredible customer service. Another couple had lost a ring through the slats in the deck floor so the staff helped make up a tool to retrieve the ring. Well done Smoke Shack. We'll definitely be back.
Sehara Perez
Burnt Ends! They are sooo tasty! I love that smoke shack doesn't hide their meat in sauce but instead uses dry rubs to really let that flavor shine! I am from the south so I've had much better fried green tomatoes but the home made custard was yummy. I would highly recommend this place. It has a good ambience and like I said, burnt ends!
Amanda Breeden
Visited on a Monday for quick dinner with my boyfriend, we were greeted with a smile and sat immediately on the outdoor patio. Both the hostess and our waiter, Andrew, were knowledgeable of the menu and gave menu favourites. We ordered the nachos as a starter which were delivered in decent time, good portion size, and we were able to ask for items on the side. We ordered the teriyaki rib special and pulled pork entree with mac n cheese, sweets, and brussel sprouts for sides. The meats were well smoked and the variety of sauces to try were a nice compliment. Per the mac n cheese lover, the mac was not the greatest but still a quality side. Overall, we'll visit again and try other options. This is a relax and feel good type of place to wind down after work.
Erika Comdohr
For the price we paid for the food I thought this place was just OK. The pulled pork was very good but nothing special. It was better than the brisket which was kind of dry. They give you multiple BBQ sauces on your table for you to try.
Tinman 2 Kustoms
Absolutely awesome place!!! One of the best and coolest little bbq joints I have ever been to. And I've been to 100+ bbq joints all over the country. I'd give it top 5 on my list... Mac & cheese was phenomenal. Mushrooms were phenomenal. Brisket was really good. Cornbread was good. Pickles were good. House made sauces were all good. They gave me a complimentary pecan pie & ice cream for my birthday too, which was absolutely out of this world. Service was good. I will most definitely be back!!!
SoniA
Great BBQ place !! The food was delicious. They have different BBQ sauce, they give you a free cinnamon roll (for brunch) that's a pretty good size and it's delicious !!! The service is very good and the place is clean too.
SJ Bey
This is one of the best places for freshly smoked meat. The retro design and a good combination of meat options and salads make this place one of my favorites. They lose a star because their sweet potato fries comes with added sugar. This is wrong in any way you think of. Please stop doing that.
Ольга Демидова
A very good place for brunch or dinner. Delicious brisket, tasty sausages, wonderful sweet potato
fries. Good choice of beer. And even root beer was above average. Helpful staff. Beautiful interior. Portions of food aren’t large, but just perfect). Totally recommend.
Mark Scheele
Looks questionable from the outside but turned out to be a great choice. Some of the best BBQ I've had! Great service too. It's very small with few tables so I imagine it can get to be a long wait on busy nights. We went mid-week and were seated right away. Would definitely go back.
Linda Clifford
Shared the Brisket Sloppy Joe with my husband. Grilled corn on the cob. Tasted great! Service was excellent! From Kansas City so we know BBQ. This was good. Unique decor.
Katie Wilson
Wonderful chill place to grab some great bbq!! I placed a late order for a combo platter and they ran out of ribs but substituted the ribs for me and everything was amazing. Wonderful customer service and great beer and I don't even drink beer but I liked it. Definitely will return.
Jeleesa Furgurson
The spare ribs had an awesome Smokey flavor to them. Also they have a great seating area outside which is really nice. I didn't like that mac and cheese that much.
Raimo Karhunen
Good BBQ, they smoke their own on premises. We were there at end of day, so they were out of a few things, but the sampler platter we shared was more than enough for the three of us. Friendly staff, we had nice seating on the outdoor patio, a nice way to end a busy traveling day.
Yoel Orué
While some of the items we ordered were good, the brisket was cold, dry and had 0 salt. The chicken we got was the same. I understand everyone has different tastes but no flavor is worse. It tasted like they bolied the meat in warm dish water.....
Mike Lee
A decent place, but if you want real BBQ you must go to the south. Brisket was dry and it felt like was cut in the wrong direction. Sauce selection was wide but the reds all tasted the same. Servers were great and food came out quickly. It might be great for the area but if you have had BBQ in the south or from there you will probably be disappointed. If you live in the area its a local business and has a great vibe.
Evelyn Gingerich
Very good food and service, I like that they don't put any sauce on there meats, you can chose from some signature sauces that are in the table and you add the amount of sauce that you want to your meat. The mac and cheese and sweet potatoes fries very good too. You must try the brisket!
Lee Ensminger
Milwaukee maybe famous for beer but you can now add BBQ. Stopped by for dinner on a recent visit and the food was really good. Had burnt ends and chips as an appetizer and a two meat combo with chicken and brisket for dinner.
Janee Pederson
Great food and ambiance. Of course the meats are delicious, but the mac and cheese was memorable. Their patio was great too because half was covered so we we were able to eat lunch and watch the rain.
Neo Lucas
Employees were chill and the food was good. The brisket was amazing and the chicken wasn't dry and had a good flavor. The sauce were all ok but the Kansas sauce was amazing. The cocktail were Nothing to crazy but very good.
They do have mushrooms as a vegetarian option idk how that was. Parking in the area is pay like $3 an hour.
Cheryl Kloss
Have eaten here several times and have never had a bad meal or dining experience. Flavors are well developed and love that you can add your own sauces. Portions are spot on.
Victoria Vasys
Good bbq. The pulled pork was exceptional, but the brisket was pretty dry. The chili was too soupy and not enough beans. The Kansas City Eggrolls were a nice twist on bbq, although the dough left a film on the roof of my mouth, just like Chinese eggrolls, which want pleasing. The sauces were very tasty- the house was the best & the Kick-24 Habañero was nice and hot but not super flavorful otherwise. I'll be going back for more pork!
Nathan Westby
Wow! It's good. I'm a big fan of good BBQ and the shack delivers. Cool atmosphere as well. Only reason I didn't go 5 stars is the beer selection and the portion size was a bit smaller than I thought the price was at.
Benjamyn Giordano
Quaint little place for some nice beef. Wifeys ribs were a little dry but service was great
NEON DAS
The best bar-b-q place in Milwaukee imho..Food is full of flavors, I myself like their special sauces.
Markus Fuchs
Great BBQ place in Milwaukee Downtown. Good BBQ flavours in the meat and quite a decent joice of different beers.
Sarai Romero
Came here a couple of weeks ago, and the food was really good. Corn bread usually sucks at bbq places but this was not the case here. The cornbread was not at all dry, the baked beans were also really good and I typically don't like baked beans. Drinks were also good, service was good too. Looking forward to coming back.
Ericka Brokaw
Out of tower's trying to get a quick bit to eat before summerfest. We got a big welcome from our server after get sat by the nice host. We had 3 people and got the 3 meat plate. Very good smoked meat with tasty sides. The food came out quick but fresh!
Dave S
The place is so original for the immediate area. Nothing similar for miles. The exterior is reflective of the interior rustic as a smoke house should. As far as the meats are concerned, the are average at best. The one high note is the selection of bourbon this establishment offers. I will certainly give this place one more try to see if it deserves 5 stars but at this moment 4 is all I could give
Logan Thiem
Great atmosphere, great food, arrived at 11:45am for lunch, no wait for a table, food was excellent, well seasoned. In and out in under an hour for 4 people. A friend discovered they do not have caffeine free diet sodas, it's a BBQ joint so no surprise there.
Mason Lugo
Always good service, usually my wife and I make it out to the Tosa one but figured we should try the downtown one since we were looking for a quick bite and pint. Food is good as always and the beer selections is good. Since we swung around 9, parking was a breeze. If you come earlier in the day parking is the only hassle since it’s in the heart of the third ward.
Christopher Okazaki
Amazing service ! Knowledgeable and friendly.
Food is tasty. Mac n cheese is creamy and delicious. Sprouts were ok.
BBQ sauces are nice - 4-5 varieties - I went with the House and Habanero (not that hot)
This time I ordered the 2meat platter, 2 sides(I think they forgot the cornbread)
Brisket was OK - Prefer a thin slices of brisket - big chunks are stringy. Flavour is tasty, yet mild - not a lot of dry rub - lets the meat flavour come through- and relies on the sauces
Pork ribs were DRY. I believe the BBQ pit master doesn’t add liquid (basting) or wrap/steam - which creates the “falling off the bone” experience. 2nd time ordering ribs (Downtown and Wauwatosa) - so I think this is just their style of BBQ 😪. Use a lot of BBQ sauce to add moisture!
Good drink menu - and great drink service
There’s plenty of good food on the menu - I’ll be back to try others
N. A.S.
The food was adequate. The brisket was quite fatty. The service made up for the food. Kenzie was very friendly and great at her job.
John Hood
Was a great place for some great BBQ, the menu has changed a bit since the pandemic such as the lack of rib tips, but their BBQ is still top notch and the corn bread is to die for!
Nate Bognar
I ordered the two meat plate with ribs and brisket. Sweet potato fries and roasted brussel sprouts for my sides. Everything was delicious. Lots of sauces to try. I left very satisfied with a little snack for later.
Dustin Schneider
Our first visit here was pretty poor decided to give it another try today. Better by a mile.
Both got sandwiches couple of sides and some drinks, staff was great and food came out quick and delicious.
Esther Noyola
The food here was phenomenal! The vibe was way groovy. And the cowboy coffee drink with house made bourbon creamer was AH-MAZING. First time in Milwaukee and we stopped here. Definitely will return.
Emanuel Begos
A simply fantastic place to treat yourself after a long pandemic year. This place is still following all safety protocols and that is quite refreshing. We enjoyed the combo meat platter of brisket, pulled pork, and sausage links. They do all their smoking in house. There is a variety of barbecue sauces to put on, but really isn't needed. This combo comes with a couple of delicious sides. We went with, spicy baked beans and roasted brussel sprouts, many others to choose from. It also comes with, a delicious piece of cornbread. Don't forget about the great read of Bacon Gone Bad.... till our next outing.
Jasmine May
Great pulled pork and pulled chicken with an array of sauces to try. They also have a dog friendly patio that is partially covered.
Pres J.
I ho and get the nachos all the time they are a class act along with there pecan pie and purple door ice cream. Otherwisem, besides those items the food is nothing to rave about. And the chilie is downright disgusting 😒
Loren Weber
Good food. Good service. Ambience is what it should be for a BBQ place.
I'd go back next time in Milwaukee.
Jacquelynn Hernandez
Courtney was my bartender last Sunday and she was AMAZING! Very helpful and super friendly. Thanks Courtney! I’ll definitely be back with more people!
Jeremy Stimpson
Absolutely perfectly done BBQ. Had ribs, brisket and pulled pork. Good portion sizes, good sauces. Sides of collard greens, potato salad, macaroni and cheese and corn bread were all good too. They handled our family's food allergies so well...hats off to the group there on "getting it." Really impressed and will be back!
TJ Kearney
Okay so I had an odd experience here as for the most part the food was okay oh, the color of pulled pork I had at the end or whatever it was had a whole lot of fat in it and was not as good as it could have been oh, they were out of sausage which really bums me out, and it was generally a pedestrian dining experience. However I was there near close stop that has to be the reason one they were out of what I wanted, be the cut of meat I got at the end it was not the best, so this is a review that needs to be taken with a grain of salt. With that said good atmosphere though cozy. Meaning, small, but the customer service was great oh, the custard was amazing and it is a restaurant that definitely deserves a second chance under better circumstances.
Lindsay Alberte
The Smoke Shack never disappoints!!
The building is small and cozy, with the perfect rustic feel for barbeque! They occasionally have live music as well!
They offer a variety of meats and sauces for all preferences. Their drinks are delicious and their prices are affordable.
The staff are always friendly and attentive. They manage the perfect balance of checking in often enough to make sure you have what you need, without excessive interruption.
The Smoke Shack is a great spot for any occasion!
Ken Zurick
Great friendly service. Brisket and pulled pork sandwiches were great! Cheddar Mac & cheese was awesome and I'm not much of a Mac & cheese fan, my wife is and I ate more than half of it 😅 😋 Side of beans was delicious too! Definitely a place to go when in Milwaukee …
Connie Iacono
Everything was so delicious! The brisket, ribs, appetizer, desert, down to the drinks and staff. Let's not forget about the atmosphere and outdoor seating... all wonderful! I highly recommend the Smoke Shack!!
Vincent Suha
BBQ is top notch. Gotta try their house sauce, fantastic flavor. Roomy booths seat 6 comfortably. House cocktails were so-so and service was OK, our waitress was new and not-so-attentive, but overall the food and atmosphere made up for any shortcomings.
Jeff Llewellyn
The brisket poutine topped with their 24 hour hobanero hot sauce it's fantastic.
Harold Castano
The sevice by the waitress was excelent, she deserved the tip. The food was ok but it was a little overcooked. We asked a platter that comes with several meats. The chicken, pulled pork and ribs where a bit dried. The brisket was almost perfect. I prefer the bbq brisket with juices running. The star of the plate was the breadcorn. It was delitious, we bought extra to take home.
Richard Zeigler
Good food, I wasn't a fan of any of the sauces but the ribs were good all by themselves.
Daniel Wuest
Smoke Shack – outstanding BBQ! We had Smoke Shack cater a rehearsal reception for 100 guests the night before our son’s wedding. The quality and quantity of the food was excellent. Our guests raved about the smoked chicken, brisket and ribs. Nickie was great to work with and responsive to all emails. We had one small mix up on the side dish order and Nickie immediately credited me for that item. Great little BBQ joint in Milwaukee’s 3rd Ward, and excellent catering service as well. Highly recommended.
Dianne Carr
First time here. Great place and great prices. 10 of us had really good meals.
The Traveling DJ
Mediocre bbq, good service, nice patio and tasty sides.
Eva Bruce
Great experience! Waitress and the rest of the team were very nice. Food was good and decently priced. We’d go back!
Jane Edgar
My friend and I went to Smoke Shack in the middle of the afternoon with few other patrons so great attention by our server Kyle. (We've been there on a Sunday for brunch, very crowded. Still good service.) Excellent meal. I had the Smoke Salad and my friend the pulled pork sandwich. Our fave was the Kansas City spring roll appetizer. But when we said it was my friend's birthday, the star of the show was the free pecan pie with whiskey ice cream!
Adam Kruse
Always a good meal here. Just make sure to make reservations! Great location between grounds, third ward, public market, etc.
Brian Rathke
Nice portions of BBQ for the price with 4 sauces to choose from. Also decent selection of bottled beer. Small place so wait is typical but outside patio is nice and provides almost double the seating.
Anne Repinski
Great food great service. Will definitely be going back! Kinsey is a fantastic waitress. Thanks for incredible experience!
Tim Adams
Awesome service. Brought our two dogs on the heated porch and was amazing. They gave them some chicken and a water bowl
Nicholas Brenning
Our server, Amayah, was super friendly and made our experience so much fun. The drinks and food as well as our service was a 10/10!
Laura Lynn
I reached out for a last minute order for my team (10 people) and the catering organizer was responsive and easy to communicate with.
The order was correct, nicely packed, ready on time, and my team really enjoy their lunch.
Hunter Riley
One of my favorite barbeque restaraunts in Milwaukee. It is also a very dog friendly restaurant. They have barbeque inspired brunch on the weekends.
Amy Brown
The manager was awesome and loved that they were pet friendly. Will definitely come back with a group of friends !!!! The ribs were awesome
Nicole Meier
Really good food. A little pricey. Offers 6 sauces for your meat. Staff is very friendly.
Nick Gleisner
Brisket was awesome. Nice small little place I never knew was here. Will definitely be back..
shane boehmke
Stopped in for lunch while in town meeting up with friends. We had a nice time. Good food and friendly staff
Christianne Varela
Service was great and food was tasty. Enjoyed the variety of sauces to explore. Had the brisket sandwich.
Chloe Karaskiewicz
We used Smoke Shack's catering for our wedding and were very impressed! The food was delicious, the staff were polite and attentive, and the presentation was lovely. Working with their catering coordinator Nickey was a wonderful experience and we really appreciated that they allowed us to have a family member come in for the pre-wedding tasting when we could not travel to Milwaukee ahead of our wedding due to the COVID-19 pandemic. We received overwhelmingly positive comments from our guests about the food and were happy to find vegan, vegetarian, and gluten-free options on the menu!
Jeremy Barnes
I've eaten here before, food is really good. Ordered it today-- not so much. The sandwiches have barely any meat at all...
I'd definitely recommend eating there, and get there early if you want their delicious ribs!! Order out with caution.
Angela Fuller
This is the first time I was able to experience the brunch at Smoke Shack and it did not disappoint! The biscuit sandwiches are absolutely amazing! 🤤 I was too busy eating to take any photos so they are absolutely worth the trip! Great portion size and delicious!! I had their brunch coffee option as well and it was wonderful! If you're looking for a place with big, beautiful biscuits then Smoke Shack the place to go! 😁
Lady Voice
The food was amazing! The best in town. The brisket was tender, the chicken was well cooked and seasoned, the beans, the Mac n cheese....fantastic! Coming to this place is a must! And might I add that the bourbon with the apples, cinnamon, and vanilla was delicious! Happy eating!
Brian H
The ribs, brisket and pulled pork were all outstanding. Only dry rubs are used during smoking so you can add your sauces IF you wish. Come early before yhey run out!
Anthony A.
I needed a proper BBQ meal to take to the lake on Memorial Day, and Smoke Shack exceeded my expectations!!! The sandwich with pork and sausage.. along with the original sauce, phenomenal! 🤎 …
Brian Vorpahl
Fantastic two meats lunch made my day. Brisket so tender I didn't need a knife. Great sausage too. Excellent service with a smile 😃.
Siobhan Janiczek
Amazing BBQ, the brisket was so tender and juicy and the Mac and cheese is to die for!
Julie Burton
Came in on a whim during Downtown dining week. Great food, good selection of beers and bourbons.
Ashley Grimm
Brisket, pulled chicken, and sweet potato fries! Amazing!!
Alan Burton
Great little find. Nashville Pork Belly Bites are a keeper....
Draught selection is good too.
Jaco Andersen
Sat outside today with a nice mini fire on the table, OMG! Super great experience! Food was great! Service was great! Will be coming back very soon :))
Lydia Reed
I don't remember the name of our waitress but we were there on 2/13/2021 and it was amazing. We were seated in a booth at the front. She let us know there was only one rack of ribs left so my boyfriend could still order the half rack he got. She was phenomenal. I had the 2 meat combo with the brisket and the pulled chicken, the chicken was great but I honestly wish I just ordered brisket on top of brisket. My partner was happy with his meal as well, but we could both tell the ribs had been sitting in their warmer or however they keep their meat. The ribs were still good and well seasoned, it was just the last rack and valentine's day weekend and on their menu stock is stock. Our waitress was fantastic, she was everything we wanted in a waitress for a valentine's day dinner. She was attentive but she didn't dominate the dinner. I told my partner, "this will definitely be somewhere we go again when we do a Milwaukee trip. Cudos here, I felt safe from the pandemic and I got AMAZING food.
troy
I work just around the corner and my family will call me to bring home bbq.
I'm asked to stop in and pick up dinner at the Smoke Shack.
We order 2 3meat dinners and get the brisket, pulled pork and sausage wit the house sauce.
And it's enough for a family of 3 with left overs for 1 lunch.
Kelly Phillips
I can't say enough good things about this place! The food was fantastic, the server was very accommodating, courteous, and sweet(I believe her name was Sophie). We will absolutely recommend this place to anyone who happens to be in the area. We are not from Milwaukee but will return when we travel! Hopefully the new menu will be better than the current one.
Arturo Navarrete
I have been at this place for dinner and brunch. My family and I have had always very good experience. Food has always been very good, quick service and very nice host.
GEORGE F PUMPHREY JR
Went back to see if the BBQ order last week was as good as we remembered. We have an alternative BBQ place that didn't quite measure up the last time we visited. We ordered from the to-go window and decided to add "BBQ pulled- chicken" to the ribs and sides: mac and cheese, sweet potato fries and roasted Brussel sprouts. The price and service were adequate and we left a 15+% tip. When we arrived at home, our surprise we didn't have any "pulled-chicken", instead we were given dried pieces! I am amazed that we were charged $14 for this! I am used to meat being pulled apart. Were we expected to shred it ourselves? The presentation was lousy and I am surprised this is what 's advertised as BBQ "pulled-chicken. I am a very good preparer of BBQ that doesn't even need sauce but since I am on this weight-loss kick, we decided to order instead. I will be back at my usual place tomorrow at the grill. The ribs were cooked well, a little dry and the rub used wasn't a winner for me. The ribs were cooked well as I said and the sides were small and tasty. It will be a while before we return but the "pulled-chicken " is a on-sale for us.
Mike Schires
Food and service was (and always is) fantastic. Always a treat when I'm in town and in the Third Ward. My son got the brisket plate and absolutely loved it. I had the pulled pork which was incredible. Great sides, great beer selection, nice casual atmosphere. Definitely a favorite place for me.
Joe Gulino
From NYC..owned bbq joint...great food..brisket asskikkin...
Don Zien
It was good but not a particularly good value. The brisket & fries were not hot.
Jamaica Bynum
The sauce was excellent..I did like the fact that there was outdoor seating..Caroline was very attentive,so please ask for her to be your server.
Ian Addison
Found the place to be quite good. BBQ sauces had good flavor. The combo dishes are well priced for this level of BBQ. Got the two meat two side combo for pickup. Sides are great, sausage was good, brisket won out. Would go again. Staff seems great.
Heather Pilarczyk
This is one of my favorite places to get BBQ. Anything I have ordered here is amazing.
Jordan Caddy
We loved our BBQ, the drinks were great too!
Steve Krause
Confusing place. Arrived early for our table and they recommend to have a drink somewhere else??? Until closer to our reservation time. Ordered drinks and apps after we were seated. Apps came out with no plates, so, we just had to pick at them from the tray. Ordered our main meal. Food arrived cold. Not just off temp, but cold. Chicken was dry and had no flavor. Won't be going back! I guess I should have expected it from a tourist trap.
Jim Coach Krupke
Really COOL atmosphere. AWESOME service! Brisket A+ ribs were VERY dry! All sides are excellent. Mac & cheese! Definitely a good bbq place 😋 …
Joe Dibartolo
Staff and food were great. We were in town for Irish Fest and decided to eat down town before entering grounds. Smart move on our part found a top notch BBQ place with many items made in house and it shows. Make a stop here when you in Milwaukee.
Joe LaPointe
I had to deduct points because they ran out of ribs... On a Monday🤔
Anyways, I sat outside and they had a cool fireplace thing on each table. Brisket was flavorful, the pecan pie dessert was awesome. Recommended. …
Sandy Moen
Delicious!!! So happy we followed our noses into this place. Great comfort food!
Julie Hart
What an amazing team! My daughter and son-in-law used the Smoke Shack for their wedding this passed weekend. We had a table cloth mix-up, probably on our end but Nickie is a rockstar and was able to get what my daughter wanted even at the last minute. The food was absolutely amazing- they had the eggrolls - I only wish I could have made it to them during the happy hour, I got one bite and was wishing for more. Had the brisket, pulled chicken which were great, as well as the sides. Would highly recommend for catering
Joshua Buss
We had some good barbecue here. Price was reasonable as well. Brisket, pulled chicken, pulled pork, and some corn bread and beans
Wait was a bit long but not terrible
Brody Vance
Food was fantastic but we were shorted a sweet potato fry order. Of course we did not open the bag until I was home and by then I am not driving 25 mins back to complain. My twins killed the brisket and the KC sauce. Wife loved the cornbread and chicken.
Charlene Law
I’ve eaten here a couple times and it never disappoints. If you like smoked meats and barbecue and you are near Milwaukee, this is the place to go. If I lived in Milwaukee, this would be my go to. Such great food and creative cocktails.
Josh Mei
Good quality BBQ in Milwaukee
David “David” N.F.
Tried the sampler and it's simply delicious!
Adrian lewis
So before i continue in on. The food here was on the worse part of average. I called in a order smoke house sampler. Comes with 1/4 Ribs 1/4 Brisket 1/4 chicken 1/4 sausage 1/4 pulled pork mac and cheese baked beans with it looked like jalapeños coleslaw sweet potato fries and a variety of sauces house sauce is the best.
Item by item
Ribs- 8/10 close to 9/10 Honestly the could just sale this and mac and cheese
Brisket- 2/10 dry and not much flavor but tender
sauce needed
Chicken and pulled pork- 2/10 Dry and even added seasoning and sauce had a hard time saving it. I tossed it away.
Sausage- 5/10 it was sausage fatty meaty seasoned ok
Mac and cheese- 9/10 tasted almost like a rich Alfredo pasta mac in cheese was surprisingly very good.
Beans- 2/10 Beans were watery but sweet and not really spicy meat would have helped a lot.
coleslaw- 0/10 My tastebud with never be the same. Don’t try, not good.
cornbread- 5/10 sweet cornbread on the slight dry side
The sweet potato fries- -5/10 May have been good if I actually got it. Called to see if the actually still came with meal and verified it did so basically i chalked it up as a loss.
Over all get some ribs with some house sauce and mac and cheese or your experience may be bad.
***Update business left there email to contact them the same day and have yet to hear from them about a couple weeks later. Think it’s just for show.
Daniel Bledsoe
Came here for BBQ, and they were amazing about letting our dog sit with us in the outdoor dining area. They even gave our dog a bowl of chicken on the house! Phenomenal service, great BBQ, awesome drink selection.
Kim Rohlwing
We sat outside at a high top and loved every flavor of the food we ordered. We had the Kansas City egg rolls and the combo platter. It was just perfect to feed us and our 2 kids. The meats were all perfect in flavor and texture and a great collection of sides on the platter easily made it a meal for the 4 of us. Just fantastic! I'd post a picture but we dove right in and didn't take one until it was almost all gone.
Yesenia Díaz
We're giving 4 stars but some improvements needed. The brisket had alot of fat, the pulled chkn was a lttle dry and cold. We likes our sides.
K Parnell
My boyfriend and I stopped in for a quick lunch before exploring Milwaukee and we're so glad we did! I had a Texas sloppy joe (so good!) at a very good price and a local IPA that was just right. Good service and beautiful patio area. This place left a great impression of MKE, thanks!
Mike “Turbostang2005” Baron
Cool place Nice and small There was a 20 minute wait no biggie.. They were playing some good blues.. Got waited on fairly quick. Not very friendly.. Said she was going to get some chips to try the sauces. They were all good.. Waitress came took our order.. I had Beef Brisket With beans My wife had a half rack of baby back ribs. Food took around 25.. Minutes Kind of a while Since it's pretty much cooked . My wife's ribs were good.. A tad tough but really good My brisket was very fatty . The beans were very good . The waitress never asked how our food was till we were done. She gives us the check and says you can square up when you are ready . She gave us the wrong check Did not apologize for the mix up . I won't go back .
Jacob G.
Got a pulled pork sandwich with mac and cheese, both were great. Also got the "pecan pie in a glass" cocktail which was also great. Food comes unsauced with your choice of four sauces. Friendly wait staff and surprisingly fast service.
Mark T
BBQ is outstanding! The atmosphere is really cool. The prices and the portions are not.
The sides are large but the actual BBQ you come there for is not and it feels very much on purpose. Management seems to be confused and interrupting of staff. The female bartender we had was rude, snotty, and paid us little attention.
S B
Worth a visit.
Did a Saturday lunch for a family of 4. Waited about 10 mins max, but a group that came in right before we were seated were told 45 min.
Friendly waitress and manager.
Free cinnamon roll was a nice starter while we waited for our food. Not sure how long we waited, but it wasn't beyond normal.
I had the brisket nachos. I like brisket and Tex-Mex but have never had this combo before. It was quite good and more than I could finish. Nice mix of sweet and spicy.
The kiddos each had chicken wings and were able to taste test the 5 (or was it 6) sauces at the table. They both enjoyed the dry rub, bone-in wings.
My wife had the pulled pork sandwich with sweet potato fries and liked it.
Small pace but cool atmosphere. Football games were on behind the bar. A live musician was playing - kinda loud and not really my thing. Restrooms were clean.
Morgan Tonner
Their collaboration for brunch with the greatest biscuit bakers of all time is really something special. I had the sausage gravy and cheese curd gravy biscuit and could not stop talking about for the whole day. We also had the warmest server, Ashley, who really went above and beyond to take care of us.
Jeff Cavanaugh
Really enjoyed this place back when it first opened. Then they expanded so quickly seemed like they lost the ball on food quality. Where they focused to much on the bottom line. My most recent visit for a work lunch will have me coming back. Seems they have returned to bring the food quality into focus. Excited to return.
Katy Last
There beans are the best I've ever had, everything was delicious, beef brisket, mac n cheese, salad, wings are amazing!! Definitely can tell the difference when you smoke them and then fry them, thank you!! We will be back soon, you guys are the best!!
Service was great, lovely bunch of people!
Olivia M
Great food. Great service. Kyle was great. I recommend the chipotle creamed cord as a side !!!!
Jason Smith
Pretty good. Habanero sauce was best part of meal.
Alexandra Vaughan
Atmosphere is super cool. Ordering was easy. I ordered pulled chicken and a cornbread muffin to go. When I opened my box everything was all over and my bread was soggy. I only took my meal across the street to eat, so it was a max of 4 mins from the time I received my dinner till I opened it.
Victoria Seibel
My fiancé and I loved our dinners! We have been on a vacation to Kansas City with the only intention of eating BBQ food, and our dinners at Smoke Shack were right up there with dinners we got in KC. I had the combo plate with brisket and pork, Mac and cheese and corn. He had the Philly sandwich! No matter what you get make sure you get some of the creamed corn. To die for!
I love that we can find such delicious BBQ right here in Milwaukee. We bought some of the Texas and Carolina sauce to bring home. We will be coming back for dinner again soon!
Andrew “Andy” Carter
AMAZING smoked food, fast service, good beer on tap and excellent atmosphere.
Haley Manske
So FIRE 🔥 the brussel sprouts were amazing! Brisket and pulled pork amazing! Check them out! …
Wendy Bushman
Thank you SMOKE SHACK! We have ordered the Shack BBQ Box a number of times and you never disappoint. Perfectly smoked brisket, yummy sides and delicious salad and dressing. We will definitely be back!

The food was excellent, it was our first time ordering and it certainly won’t be the last. Egg rolls, Brisket and pulled pork were fire! Best BBQ I’ve had in a long time!
Chris Overholster
Delicious meat selection. Try all of the sauce options. The angus brisket and pulled chicken were especially tender.
Tim Mosley (Mo)
Best bbq pulled pork since I left North Carolina. This place rivals some places in NC! It is that good.
Ignore all the negative reviews, those people are nuts.
This place is on point!! 🍖

Got a combo of 2 meats, with Brisket and pork. Great bark, loved that it, and the sauces were gluten free. Fryer is not, so skip the GF flagged wings on the app list, if you need GF. They really ought to pull that! The side of corn was amazing, and legit could stand on it's own as a dish. I wish I lived closer.
Tom Malchetske
Great atmosphere..old style southern decor..good blues music playing..the food was nice..brisket was moist and not over smoked..nice selection of sauces on the table..
Scott Fitzgerald
The meat was cooked nicely but didn't have much flavor. The nachos were huge and the pork was nicely cooked. The chips were also very good. The Mac and cheese on the side was over cooked and very watery. I feel like this could be good if the sauce was thicker and didn't fall off of the noodles. The corn chowder had a slightly odd flavor that no one in our party could discern
Ryan Petrie
One of the best BBQ in the area with fantastic food and great brunch. They have flights for mimosa & blood and now just use a meat flight with the variety of options. Highly recommend!
Rose Ullberg
Truly great bbq with four choices of sauces... we had the brisket sandwich... just mouth watering and delicious! The owner came over to my sister and myself to see if we liked the new addition to his menu. So pleased at the personal service and could not rave enough about the service, professionalism, clean industrial style decor. This was a very fun lunch on our way to Sister Bay, Pheasant Park Resort. Oh and that warm brownie we shared... heaven in a bite!!
jonathan stern
I had the brisket sandwich, sweet potato fries, and belly. The meat was very tender, slow-smoked and crispy on the edges. Fries were delicious and crispy. The bbq sauce added a slightly sweet and spicy essence to the sandwich.
Michael Daniels
This place is consistently OK, but never great. The space is cool, albeit tiny and the staff is helpful and friendly. The outdoor space is nice, and it is heated which helps when you are only warm for 35% of the year. Drinks are typical of any trendy spot in Milwaukee. The sides, sauces, and specialties are pretty good. The BBQ itself, however, is where this place losses stars. The meat is only slightly smoky and usually on the dry side. They do pork and chicken OK, but the brisket is disappointing enough to make me want to find a new place to eat. I'd definitely recommend skipping the dry, bland beef entirely. If you're looking for an interesting spot to grab a drink and a bite with a friend/date, give this spot a whirl. If you're looking for quality BBQ, this spot may not be for you.

I had been meaning to go hear for years and I finally did yesterday just before closing. I appreciated the staff there waiting for me to arrive 1 min before closing as I was far from the restaurant when I made my phone order. So I paid left a decent tip. Not exactly 10%. But my ribs were extremely dry over cooked. And my sauce container was leaking all of the sauces. I may try again but there are other choices of places to eat obviously.
Glenn Percival (Retro Nation)
The atmosphere is really nice and homey, and the staff was very friendly.
Had the brisket sandwich and the burnt ends (special on Weds it seems). Both were very well prepared and had great flavor. The available sides though didn't do a lot for me. I'm a Kansas City native, so I guess that I have certain expectations. No regular fries kinda bummed me out since I don't like sweet potato at all. The beans just had too many peppers for my tastes, but the kettle chips were great.
Also, it's a bit pricey. $13+ for a pretty standard brisket sandwich is high in my experience, and the burnt ends were also costly for the serving size.
I'll most likely go back, but I really need to figure out a side on their menu that will satisfy me.
Tonenet “Toneyae” Johnson
Omg...this is the best place to eat at......I love there Chilli & Cornbread the bomb an the chicken is so good can't forget about the mac& cheese..I love it....my favorite place from here on out....🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤 …

This place is a Milwaukee jewel. I didn’t know what to expect when I got there, but as soon as I entered the shack, the smell of bbq confirmed I was in the right place. I order a brisket sandwich and it was perfect. Tender meat with the perfect smoked flavor. Great atmosphere as well with live music. Strongly recommended.
s o
Two meat combo, pulled pork and brisket. Nice thick brisket though not much of a smoke ring, and tastes plain but nice and tender. Pork was good tasting but too much fat left in when pulling. Red cabbage slaw was different but still good. Large portions and bbq sauces were not bad. I’m from Tn and do all my own smoking of all meats, and as I travel the country I stop and taste the local offering. This place is kinda cool deco and set up. I would come back. Could not give it 4 or more. But still good.
Ekaan Ahmad
Quick service and great music. Overall a really good atmosphere. Food was great.
Christopher Trejo
Always a great time. the pulled pork nachos are a great deal for what you get. Also tried the Kansas City egg rolls, phenomenal. Whenever I go I usually always get the brisket sandwich. Good place any time of day, I highly recommend their weekend brunch!!!
Brendan H
So, I'm giving them 5 stars but it's only because there is no 4.5 option. The meat is amazing, the beer selection is adequate, but the sides need some work. Pedestrian side dishes make the place avoidable if you had a better option but we don't, and quite frankly the brisket needed no side dish. The sauces were all quite delicious too. So, I guess this isn't a harsh rating at all, and sort of rambling, but I'm just trying to impress on anyone from the Smoke Shack that they need better beans, cornbread, and mac 'n cheese. That's it. Still worthy of a stop. Really.
Alyssa Reum
Sampler was a nice experience for two people because everything on the menu sounds good and you get to try many items. All the meat was excellent. Ribs fall off the bone just right. Just wish cole slaw was a little bigger portion because it was so good. I did not prefer the corn bread because it’s texture was like sponge cake and rather bland. I prefer corn bread dense and gritty. Service was excellent. The manager even came to our table, packed our leftovers, and gave us little sauce containers of our favorite sauces!
Mark Wagner
I hope you are fortunate enough to have Kevin as your server because he did a fantastic job for our visit. Great sampler special I ordered with the smoked sausage and brisket. Brisket was a little dry but with the house bbq sauce, wonderful. Comes with a cornmeal muffin and 2 sides. I chose baked beans and Brussel sprouts. Definitely try the sweet and sour, or bread and butter pickles. Unbelievable flavor with a nice spicy finish. Again, GET THE PICKLES! We had an extra helping. Very good experience.

Good service good food! Loved the atmosphere here!

We are from Chicago and drove up here for the weekend. Mathis restaurant had excellent service. The hostess terry went above and beyond to get my husbands and I seated where we wanted. Food was awesome.... 5 stars keep up the good work

Lovely place. Good experience. Great staff. A little bit expensive but overall well time spent there.
The Sampler platter is probably your best option to go as it allows you to try everything. We ordered it for 2 and we took some food home. The ribs are a little bit dry and not as meaty as I hoped but it was good. The chicken was pulled and too bland for my taste but after adding sauce it was okay. The pulled pork was okay too. Brisket is very good. Not the best I've ever had but it's definitely very good. You will not be disappointed.
The sides for the platter were surprisingly very good too. Especially the beans. I don't usually like beans but I loved it.
We also ordered Green Fried Tomatoes; it comes with Chipotle aioli and was very delicious. An order comes with 4 slices. We tried the Wedge Salad and was not impressed. But good portions.
The chicken wings were very delicious and meaty. Eat them hot. An order is 10 wings. My wings came with some feather on them, but the staff was very friendly and apologized for it and replaced the order with new wings.
The bloody Mary was not as I hoped it be. More vodka than I'd like and the tomatoe juice wasn't as thick. We ordered it not spicy and it was relatively spicy so keep that in mind. A spicy one could be very spicy.
♿: There is a designated wheelchair entrance at the back of the building. I did not see specific seatings for wheelchair but I believe it can be accommodated. The place consists of booths as well as a bar.
Kristin
Amazing!! Not from the area and came in because of a recommendation. Loved the food, drinks n atmosphere! Beef brisket n mac n cheese is my amazing! The Kentucky Cola is awesome as well! Definitely look forward to coming back!!! Next time I'm in the area definitely stopping in again!
Nathan Ruehle
Some of the best BBQ in town. This is some of the finest bbq, especially the brisket, that I’ve had in the Milwaukee area. I always get at least brisket and pulled pork, which the pulled pork was delicious as well. Baked beans on the side were great!
Holger Schaeffler
Went straight to the Smoke Shack after arriving in Milwaukee, had the 3-meat combo plate with burnt-ends, ribs and brisket and it didn’t disappoint. The burnt-ends were the star of the show. Nice vibe inside and love all the different sauces placed on all the tables. Service was good too.
Kelsey Bierdeman
The food was great! I chose the restaurant because I am eating Keto and I knew meat and brussel sprouts would work well! The meat has such great flavor I didn't feel like I was missing out on the sauce.
Our only issue was the hostess - we had 6:00 reservations and she told us we were down for 6:30. When I told her I was sure it was for 6, she ignored me and just told us to "go somewhere else and get a drink." As soon as I ordered my drink we got the message that our table was ready. We walked back in at 6:08 and she said "We have a table for you, but you'll need to be out by 7." We probably would have been done by then anyways, but goodness....not a very welcoming hostess.
Chris Logan
Very friendly server . Good group gathering atmosphere.
Food quality not that good . Brisket was dry & fatty .
Not worth what they charge for the meal(s) .
Stephanie Freedman
Rick saved our Saturday night and dinner! We ordered through Chow Now and didn’t realize that pickup was selected until it was too late. Rick called us back and delivered the food himself! Absolutely blown away by the customer service ☺️ Thanks for going above and beyond. Tasty food too - the mac n cheese is delicious and the meats are always tender. This will be our new go-to!
Kate Dietz
We got here at 2pm on a Sunday, and they were still serving brunch (and lunch both) so we got a giant complimentary cinnamon roll first. The BBQ, and sauce were delicious. The decor is so cool and unlike anywhere else. Super cool, super chill, laid back place.
Daniela Flores
Good smoke House. They have 5 different sauces you can dip your meat in. Decent portions. The sweet potato fries are delicious. The patio area is great for summer time. Waiters are friendly and you don't have to wait long for your food. Parking on the streets around.
Jennifer Manyfield
I apologize for not taking a picture, however next time I will include one and try not to scarf my food down so fast, because it was so yummy!
So, hubby and I were looking for a light lunch so we opted for some of their appetizers. I was exceptionally delighted with my choice. I choose the Kansas City Egg rolls. Right? I was thinking the same thing for a BBQ joint, egg rolls?
Well they were packed with pulled pork and cheese, then drizzled with BBQ and honey mustard sauce! How gratifying. I could not taste the cabbage at all, because there was a small salad of red cabbage, arugula and spinach in the middle of the plate. This was brilliant.
I couldn't have asked for a better proportioned lunch. The pulled pork was soft and the presentation was heavenly. I would like to note I started to put the house BBQ sauce on the egg rolls and that was divine, but I was able to sample ranch on the egg rolls...... It was like a party in my mouth.
Can't wait to go back for the brunch and try the chicken and waffles. Hope you take it from me and go enjoy. Um, yes this was only a review on their appetizers. So you know their entrees are good. :)
Larry Wheeler
Another delicious experience with my daughter for her birthday.
The parking across the street is expensive
But that's a different business.
Well worth the drive!
Clayton Buss
Good BBQ. Had the brisket and it was awesome. Family had the Mac and cheese and couldn't stop saying how good it was.
Kelly
Always a great experience at the Smoke Shack from a great family of restaurants. THANK YOU for having a vegan option on the menu!! As a carnivore paired with a herbivore it is greatly appreciated that we both can enjoy a menu. Friendly and helpful staff always keep this a great part of our dining rotation. Try the burnt ends!!!
Dawn Stegbauer
Got the sampler entree to-go... they forgot to give us the pimento mac *sad face* Chicken was perfection; brisket, ribs, and pork a bit dry; sausage was surprisingly yummy! I loved all the sauce options (house and kansas were the best!) Overall, decent but I feel like my craving for mac n cheese will have to be satisfied somewhere else now womp womp
Velvet Brown
Enjoyed my quick visit. Lovely pickled veggies. Premium pulled pork was good too. Rib Tip portion was a bit smaller than I'm used to, but still good as well. Overall, nice place to enjoy barbecue late.
Kevin
Fairly underwhelmed by the majority of the BBQ sauces offered here - the carolina gold stood out as one of the better ones, with the Texas being possibly the worst. Most were thin and one-note. Meat was decent, but without a lot of depth of flavor. Not bad by any means, but it's unlikely I'd go back.
Dave and Amy Szymanski
It was our anniversary and they pleasantly surprised us with two anniversary desserts. The service was great. Drinks were delicious. Will definitely go back again!!
Fun outdoor patio, too!
Steven Smart
1st time there from Illinois. Delicious pork and sweet potato fries. I'm sure the rest of the menu is superb is well. Good variety of bbq sauces to choose from. Hannah was our server and she was beyond excellent. Very attentive and personable. Refills and everything else was spot on! Overall, great service and great food! Can't wait to return!
Danielle Kulick
I had the Burnt Ends Benedict, the meat was tender and the side of potatoes had the perfect amount of crisp. I also got a side of sweet potato pancakes, and they were even better than the benedict, the sweetness of the syrup mixed well with the somewhat savory cakes.
Our server was also charming and the atmosphere was great, there was even a musician playing, which created a cozy environment. Thanks for an awesome brunch Smoke Shack.
Chris Hsieh
Price was high for the small amount of food given. The brisket had a nice smoke ring and tasted good but was dry. Also lacked an iption to choose the cut like most smoke shacks further south. Normally you have the choice between burnt ends, fatty cut, normal cut, or a mix. We didn't get the option here which any decent BBQ joint should give. The mac and cheese was very good however which is where my positive stars are for.
Matt B
The burnt ends are amazing! Service is quick Pleasant and personal! The menu warns that their chicken wings are not the crispy type we are used to however we found them to be very rubbery. I think they would have a happy medium if they put them on a grill for a few minutes to crisp the skin slightly before serving.
Jordon Meyer
So good! The decor, the smell, the friendly service was all really good. This is a special treat to have in Milwaukee.
I had a brisket sandwich and it was tasty. They leave the sauce up to you, so it comes out dry which is a good call. They also give you a ridiculously huge cinnamon roll for free during brunch.
Matt Starr
I really wanted to like this place, but the meat has been too dry and hard the couple times I have tried it. I got take out each time so maybe it is better in restaurant. The food certainly looks and smells good, but seems slightly over cooked.
Libertyville Guy
Really a great BBQ place. Excellent food, reasonable prices. I've had the Carolina pulled pork, and boy, is that ever good. The cinnamon roll as an appetizer is dynamite, and unexpected delight. Easy to duck off the interstate coming through Milwaukee, and drop in here. Located in the very cool, trendy 3rd Ward. Highly recommended. But I would suggest they either find better TV shows to broadcast, or not have TVs in the place. Maybe it's their cable package, maybe they don't pay attention to what's on TV, but the programming is downright odd.
Luciano Siragusa
Three stars because the regular menu is great.
The biscuits however...
Warm meat and cold everything else.
Poutine is made with warm waffle fries, room temp gravy and cold cheese curds.
Maybe biscuits aren't for you smoke shack.
Kathryn Long
This is my favorite restaurant in Milwaukee, and Smoke Shack is not without competition! The food is absolutely phenomenal. I love the ambiance and the menu is utter perfection. Hush puppies, mac and cheese, the egg rolls and the pulled pork nachos are all excellent appetizers and sides. But the chicken wings are really what puts smoke shack above and beyond for me.
The service is also exceptional. HIGHLY recommended.
M Wagner
Food was exceptionally delicious. I ordered the pulled brisket sandwich with macaroni on the side....comes with coleslaw and pickles. It would’ve been perfect if the food portion matched the price.
Kristina Reich
Delicious! Nice selection of BBQ sauce. Tender, tasty brisket. Pork belly bites were to die for.
Thanks for a super great lunch! We'll be back!
K M
Nothing to write home about. Food just ok and cocktails small and weak.
Dave
Location is neat and public parking is close. Parking though as everywhere downtown fills up QUICK. The rustic barn wood and decor are really cool. The staff are very friendly. The food is good, but if you are an extremely picky BBQ eater then they'll take 2nd place (only closely beat for 1st place). The cornbread is OUTSTANDING!!! The biggest challenge is the prices are a little high. I would venture to wager this is due to the location and understanding it fits with the district. Overall a great place if you're in the neighborhood.
Tanya Kloeffler
So much yum here 😋 Love their BBQ, especially the chicken. Also if you get a chance to get a smoked turkey from them for Thanksgiving DO IT! It was Amazing and made our house smell like a smoke house. 🥰 …
Eamonn McCann
Only been to Milwaukee once before, looking for a BBQ nearby...from the outside on a rainy day looked closed but It wasn't & boy was it awesome! My brother got the burnt ends, I the brisket sandwich and a couple of local brews & that brownie dessert. All was delicious! Service was top notch! Thank you Lindsay!
Michael Kipper
Looking to satisfy your barbeque craving, this is a great option in the 3rd Ward. Nice selection of sauces, quality smoked meats and personable service made for a nice evening. The chicken wings were a great starter.
David Lara
I went for lunch on a weekday. Waited for about 30 minutes for a party of 2. So plan ahead if you are going during a busy time.
Food was good, I had the pulled pork with the sweet potato fries and a side of coleslaw. They have a variety of sauces at the table to choose from for your food. They were all tasty albeit a bit lackluster in depth. The pork was kind of dry but I won't hold it against them as that is what sauce is for! Fries were tasty. Crunchy but still kind of fluffy on the inside. The coleslaw was not really good for what I was expecting (I was expecting traditional coleslaw). What I got was red cabbage coleslaw that exceeded in blandness.
Prices were good for the servings I got. Although I am from Chicago, so my idea of expensive is different than most 'Sconnies'. Overall I give this place a B and would definitely go again.
Andrew Hillas
I stumbled into Smoke Shack with my family while waiting for Discovery World to open after lunch. It should have been a planned stop; the food was amazing! Kyle was extremely thoughtful/helpful regarding our daughter's allergies. Thanks!
Joe Freeland
Great atmosphere and even better bbq!
Tracy Getcy
We enjoyed our dinner here would return again staff was friendly food was delicious
Ben Walters
Be warned. No BBQ till 3 pm. The Brew City Biscuit brunch was nice little bonus treat though. However, they were confused when we tried to order biscuits and gravy since it’s not an official menu item... but it was delicious anyway. Also “the Count” sandwich blew me away. The jam and ham made for a slam.
dorothy s
They smoke their own meats, brisket, chicken, pork and even a vegan meat! They give you 5 or 6 different options of bbq sauce. Friendly, fast service, but the place is kind of small, so I'd recommend reservations.
Rev George Pumphrey
Really, really enjoyed the experience! Our waiter Kyle, was courteous and professional. Pricing was affordable. We ordered the "Sampler " to go yet the bean side was a little short. Going back that's for sure.
Loribeth Chenault
Great meat, variety if BBQ sauces. Both times I've gone, service has been slow. Slow to refill drinks, slow to check in, and slow to get the check at the end. Would be a five if the service was faster as the food is delicious. (Burnt ends and pork belly bites for starter and brisket plate for main)
Get the Mac n cheese for a side, skip the corn bread
Travis H
This place is small, so follow the posted signage when you come in. Seating for maybe 16 people, 6 spots to park in the lot, and spotty street parking, so carry out might be your best option. The staff is nice and patient if you haven't been before and need to examine the overhead menu. The food is good. (But I wouldn't call it award worthy from my visits.) The portions help make up for it though. The price is pretty in line for what I'd expect from a BBQ joint.
Igor Kraus
Great BBQ place. I always go here when in Milwaukee for business. The food is fresh and prices are reasonable. You choose your meat and have 5 sauces to go with. I love their habanero hot sauce. Staff is friendly and the bar has a variety to chose from. No beer on tap though. Gotta try the buttermilk hash puppies. Outside seating is available too.
Olena McKenzie
Visited the place while on a trip to Milwaukee. I liked that the service was timely. Our waitress, I think that was Tiffany, took the order pretty fast, checked if we were okay later on. And got our check without a delay.
Food was also good. My friend and I had some burgers with bbq meat. Personally I can say that mine had looots of chicken, which is awesome, since I'm a great fan of meat.
I also liked the variety of sauces that are available right there at the table. Everyone will find something for them, be that sour, sweet, salty or spicy.
Wes Harris
Great restaurant with authentic cooked meats and friendly staff. Slightly on the pricey side of things with $10 wings. A lunch for one, with the brisket plate, wings, and an iced tea will set you back $33 without tip.
Again the food is good, the atmosphere is great, and the staff are very helpful. I'd go here again for sure.
Jeremy Peterson
I like the smoke shack and I've been there many times, but I have to say the quality doesn't justify the price. It is a neat venue and close to downtown, which is very convenient. However, I think they need to really up their BBQ game, especially their ribs. I will come back, but I've been less than impressed the past three times I have visited.
Mike Sigmon
A+ bbq and a big thumbs up from a southern boy. Sauces were excellent and s good showing of the different flavors you can add to bbq. Wait staff were helpful and nice. Split the sampler and everything on the menu was good. Brisket was some of the best I've ever had.
Gary Friske
Took my parents for brunch and it was all or our first time there. Service was outstanding and the food was incredible. We had the pulled chicken salad, the biscuits and gravy and pulled pork and sausage. It was all really good. I will be going back as often as possible.
Karl K
Loved the outdoor eating area. It is a hole in the wall restaurant that feels like old authentic Milwaukee.
A M
Very good bbq, nice service and atmosphere 👍🏼 …
Danielle Block
It was our last night at a hotel near by and we were tired and wanted to order take out. We chose Smoke Shack. I got a salad that was huge with one little tiny container of dressing. I don’t like a lot of dressing but this was ridiculous. I couldn’t even finish this 13$ salad cause it was so dry. Also they sent us with absolutely no silverware or napkins!!! Also the Chili was the size of maybe a half cup for 4$. Would not recommend take out!
Tony Novinska
FIVE STARS!!!! There is a reason this place made a list of "best BBQ in the country". Milwaukee is blessed to have a BBQ place of this quality. It's loud, busy and not intimate, but if there are a TON of people all the time, the place MUST have good food. I had the brisket and my wife had the pork ribs. You don't have to go to Texas for this amazing of BBQ.
Brianna Stehli
Ate here for the first time tonight. We went early and I'm glad we did. We had first dibs on all of the selections. I had the brisket sandwich with kettle chips and deep fried corn. The best part about the Smoke Shack is that you choose how much sauce you want on your bbq - if any at all. I tried them all on a plate first and then decided to mix two of them on my sandwich. That was one of the best meals. I left full and satisfied and didn't finish all of my food. If you are in Milwaukee, go there early and get the brisket. Phenomenal. I'll be back soon.
Travis Morgan
Great atmosphere. Doggies welcome. Amazing food!
Mike Bauhs
On site smoker. Excellent BBQ. Friendly staff. Fair prices. Good drink selection.
Amber Price
Overall: Great.
Host (older blonde) was awful. She couldn't commit to a wait time- while there was, 6+ 4-top tables open. There was not a firm wait time, maybe 25min, maybe 5.... while there were 4 tables outside and 2 within, clean and ready to be seated. :/ Not impressed with that.
Awesome food. Great waitstaff. $8.50 for a small Texas Mule... overpriced. It was good- but not worth that much $$$. Food was worth every penny.
Janette Sanchez
My first time goin here with half of my family. Celebrating my Son's graduation after 3 days , this place had a nice vibe, the Server was nice, she so polite, nice smile. Our food was so good it came out hot. And the cornbread was to die for with our app of wings. Yummy. Will be back soon.
Rheanna Schmidt
I was here during the weekday around lunch time. The staff were very nice and knowledgeable about menu. All of their sauces are super yummy, my favorite was the Carolina one! I found it easiest to park near the public market and walk over. They have several options for vegetarians as well! Wish I didn't live 1500 miles away because I'd love to go more often!
Sally Whitmore
It's a cool atmosphere, but so overpriced for what you get. The half pound of brisket is 3 smaller slices of brisket..all of us guessed it was most likely closer to 1/4 pound instead. Sandwiches would be a better value, as the meat is over $20 and portion sizes are quite small. Sauces are pretty decent!
Danielle Sopiarz
I’ve eaten here a few times a year over the past couple years. The food is delicious, except the Mac and cheese-definitely needs more cheese, as half the noodles are always missing the cheese mixture, even after trying to mix it up a bit. The service has always been pretty good, and the bathrooms are always clean.
Halee Kading
My husband and I have been to Smoke Shack several times and love, love, love the food so it was a simple decision when it came to choosing a wedding caterer. Ryan at Smoke Shack was so easy to work with and made everything perfect for our day. Our guests went up for multiple plates and could not stop talking about the food (especially the brisket sloppy joes!). Even our vegetarians loved everything (minus the meat). If you love BBQ and just great food, this is your place. Thank you Smoke Shack!
Peter Richards
Brunch here is awesome. They make a good bloody mary also (ask for a spicy one). Super solid meats along with nice ingredients. It's a simple atmosphere with friendly staff. We love it.
Tori Wenger
We went family style and split 2 combo plates since there's no kids menu. The brisket is so tender! The beans are very good but on the spicy side.
Alicia Christina Aisha
Real nice low-key spot. Blues music in the background. Fave thing was the chicken. So juicy and tender and not dried out. And the cornbread was damn near perfect I recommend the house BBQ sauce. My brother said it was too water but he would so eating it.
Dan ''Spiffy'' Neuman
We were passing through Milwaukee, planning to stop at Speed Queen, forgot they were closed Sunday. Googled "BBQ" and this place came up as ranked best BBQ in Milwaukee by On Milwaukee Magazine. Sorry On Milwaukee, but not even close. Not only is Speed Queen way better, but I had better BBQ from the Pop's BBQ Food Truck. I should have gone there instead.
I got the burnt ends, kettle chips, brisket, and mac & cheese. Burnt ends were probably the best thing I tried, very tender, decent flavor, but not a lot of smoke and a lot of fat. Also a very small portion for $13.
I prefer sliced brisket and this was chopped. It was similar to what you'd get from most non BBQ restaurants that serve brisket.
Mac & Cheese was confusing. Very little cheese, a sprinkling of bread crumbs.
Kettle chips were dry and flavorless.
I wont be back. But if I hadnt tried it, I might have wondered if it was really the best BBQ in Milwaukee. It's not.
Jason Burrows (PunkJr)
Fantastic food, their brunch is just great. The mimosa & bloody mary flights are a fun way to get some variety in your brunch drinks too!
Sarah Sealock
Really delicious barbecue. Reasonably priced sandwich options and get sides. The downside is this place does not have any brews on two but they do have great cocktails. Fun patio in the summer but plenty of indoor seating in the winter. Street parking only which can be challenging in the Third Ward, but it's right next to a large public lot
Jim Ward
excellent food, excellent service. Have never had a disappointing meal here. There early so they had the Baby Back ribs. Nice outside seating.
Kari Gallagher
We went there last Saturday and were seated in a very timely manner. Our server was Sally, who was awesome. She was very attentive and suggested the smoked chicken entree. The chicken was very tender and had a great taste. We also got the chicken sandwich and the pulled pork nachos, both of which were very good. She also suggested the cinammon roles which we got and eat the next day. They were still fresh and delectable.
William Lea
Interesting place. Having grown up in the south, I've had plenty of BBQ. The food was hit or miss. Fried green tomatoes were excellent, not overfried or soggy. Brisket was honestly the driest meat I've ever had. When you have to use a knife to cut it and smother it in sauce, that's not a good sign. On the other hand, the baby back ribs were actually really good. Lots of flavor and moist. They were out of baked beans at 8 on a Saturday. How do you run out of beans at a BBQ joint? The Mac and cheese was good but served lukewarm at best. We passsd on dessert. Top it off with a small poor on an overpriced cocktail and overly grumpy hostess and all on all it was ok. Glad I checked it out but I'll prob look elsewhere next time.
Erik Smith
Smoke Shack was recommended by a few friends as the best BBQ in Milwaukee. I have to disagree. However, It is still good! If you are downtown and want some good BBQ, don’t pass it up.
Dale Robertson
Hearty smokehouse dining. Brisket, ribs, chicken, burnt ends... all very tasty. Several BBQ sauces to choose from. Rustic smokehouse atmosphere with blues music. Our server, Megan, knew the dishes well and was helpful in making our entree selections. First visit... definately won't be the last.
D K
The staff are all amazing, super friendly and do a good job, you can tell they care. The food was very tasty and the atmosphere was nice. The restaurant is very small so there was a 30 minute wait but it was worth it. Would highly recommend.

The highlight was ordering online and the convenience of my food being ready when I got there. The sandwich was plain and the mac and cheese was watery and bland (not creamy). I've had better mac and cheese from Noodles & Co. The praline cake was amazing!!! I will definitely get the cake again and add a scoop of ice cream!!

I am a New Zealander and a frequent visitor to the US. Yesterday we dined at the Smoke Shack after spending a morning at the art gallery. Brilliant place by the way...so architecturally daring and the contents amazing.
We were a family group with two young children. We just felt comfortable from the get go. Great greeter, well mannered and pleasant to Rachel, the efficient and accommodating server.
Dirty gin martini excellent. Good balance.
The food got the thumbs up from all parties.
The house sauce was excellent, but we loved the sharp taste of the Carolina.
The pulled pork ,the pulled chicken, both tender and defined by the mellow hickory flavour, accompanied by the roasted brussel sprouts were delicious. We were advised the macaroni and cheese was good and the pulled chicken on a bun was pronounced excellent by the pickiest eater in America.
The sweet potato pancakes were received with enthusiasm.
The atmosphere was tight. We arrived just before twelve, the sole vocalist/guitarist was in full flight....and the enterior was reminscent of a woolshed. Wooden, rustic and totally what we like....the hipsters piled in around one. And there were plenty of them
It was a great casual dining experience.
WE LOVED IT.
Value for money. Highly recommend.

This is for the Smoke Shack downtown. Do not assume the Tosa location is the same.
Absolutely phenomenal!
The atmosphere is great, from the rustic decor to the casual vibe, and the outstanding music selection played at a volume you can comfortably hear, but yet not have to shout across the table to the other people in your party.
Leo was our server. He's fabulous! He explained how they smoke their meats, offered a suggestion for a substitution that was awesome, and split our leftovers perfectly with individual containers for each item. When he served our food he noted he would give us a few minutes to do some sampling, come back to see how everything was, and then leave us alone to enjoy our meal. And he did. He still kept an eye on us because when my water glass was empty he came over to ask if I would like more. But we were not continuously bothered by being asked repeatedly how things were, very relaxing.
And now the food....
Words cannot describe just how famously deliciously everything is, and I mean everything. We ordered the sample platter which came with a 1/4lb each of sausage, pulled pork, chicken, and brisket, a 1/2 pound of racked ribs, sweet potato fries, corn bread muffins, spicy baked beans, coleslaw, and creamed corn. Not the creamed corn you get in a can that's basically mush, but house made and SO wonderful. This was the substitution Leo recommended because we also ordered the Friday special of buffalo chicken mac and cheese and the platter came with pimento mac and cheese. The corn bread muffins were the moistest corn bread we've ever eaten. The coleslaw was neither sweet nor vinegary. The spicy baked beans were so interesting. Just when you thought some heavy heat was coming, they actually leveled out, giving you the flavor of the spice without wrecking your taste buds to taste anything else. The buffalo mac and cheese could be a meal in itself, for both flavor and quantity. And the meats? Oh...my...god...the meats. They smoke everything with a dry rub. Though the table has 4 different sauces to use once on the table, the flavor of the smoked meats should not be hidden under sauce. I did however want to try their house sauce, so after I tried some of the pulled pork plain, I put a little sauce on a few bites. And the house sauce is delicious. I guess maybe words COULD describe the food.
There is a public parking lot directly across the street so if you get there early enough it's very convenient. If you're going to partake in alcoholic beverages though, please grab a ride share and get dropped off and picked up at the door.
But definitely go there!

I lived in Milwaukee for 5 years and to this day, Smoke Shack is one of my top favorite restaurants to eat at when I return. The meat is smoked and cooked daily, so if you want to try their best items (fried green tomatoes, ribs, etc) you should get here at an early dinner time. The food is seriously fantastic. The selection of BBQ sauces at the table makes it really fun. The patio in the summer is one of my favorite places to have a meal, especially when they have someone playing on the guitar. This place is small and cozy, and tucked in between some really tall buildings. I absolutely love Smoke Shack.
Cathy Gehrt
My boyfriend order the brisket, I ordered a brisket sandwich. He had nice slices on his plate, my sandwich was all scraps and fat and the bun was dry and stale. I was expecting slices of brisket on my sandwich on a fresh bun. Staff was friendly and atmosphere was cool, I'd give it another try....but no sammies for me.
Colin Stuart
Not bad but there are better (and cheaper) places. Had a ~45min wait (you are allowed to leave and they text you where you are in the queue/ready to be seated). Once we sat down (just my partner and I) at a 4-person table, another couple was also seated with us. Wasn't expecting this, it wasn't bad or anything but just a little weird if you're trying to enjoy your date.
Appetizer we got were the fried green tomatoes, they were pretty tasty. Came with chipotle mayo which was delicious (just like the chipotle mayo at Cafe Benelux).
Ordered brisket sandwich. Can't say that it was amazing... cost a lot of money and a brisket sandwich at Dickey's on Miller Park Way is WAY better tasting (and cheaper).
Service was fine.

First off I am from Texas and been in Wisconsin since '99, so I have been on the hunt for good or gaw'damn good brisket, haven't found it except here today, they didn't cut the top off the wife's portion but cutting fat makes a dry brisket. Have only 2 exceptions to this joint and it falls down to execution, first being a family and not having family amenities even basic as a high chair is off putting, but that's okay if the junk is good. Love the spot and small size for more authentic taste, problem 2 is side portion and side application, paid 20 for the best brisket but when you are limited to one side and the limited portion size it isn't true BBQ, it becomes a one time hitter quitter, not going travel to spend high amounts of money to have even the best if you don't feel that you are getting appreciated in the process, but the waitress was awesome, just bigger portions please.

The environment is great but seating is sometimes not the best. If you have ever had southern bbq this will not compare, however it was very tasty. Their brisket and bbq nachos is very good! If you go for brunch get excited over the huge cinnamon bun! Definitely a fun place to go to at least once in MKE.
Chef J
Good selection of smoked meats . Cornbread was delicious

Really good eats. Enjoyed our experience. Server was super nice. Weather was beautiful so we sat outside on the patio. Good atmosphere as well.
Chris Cook
Food was good and the service was great as well. Was greeted by multiple people when I arrived and looking for my party. Waitress was attentive and wait time for food was good. There is both indoor and outdoor seating. Would definitely come back here again.
Christopher Kneeland
Love the smoked pulled chicken. Moist and hot...had similar at a place in Florida but was dried out. Smoke Shack sandwich and creamy Cole slaw was excellent for lunch. I highly recommend!

We had a bit of a wait on a weekend night, we waited probably about 20 minutes for a table and there were no tables to sit in wait at. We had to stand near the bathroom. The bartender here never ever smile which made me feel slightly uncomfortable. We finally got seated and I ordered the pork nachos. They were just okay, nothing special to them other than you get different colored tortilla chips. The shredded BBQ pork was tender but cold. Overall, ok experience but I'd give them another try with a different entree.
Maximum RobespierreXVII (Max)
Great barbecue! They really do a great job with the meat. I love that they have chicken and seitan as options for those who don't eat red meat. Their sauces are also delicious!
Hamadyne
Delicious, wholesome food with fast, friendly service. Highly recommend if you have a hankering for quality BBQ!
Autumn
Wonderful food!
Only complaint I had was that I asked for a wine as a drink and was given a 1/4 filled glass and was told "we ran out of wine so I gave what we have and if I could give you anything else let me know. I won't charge you for this either." I ordered a mix drink and everything was fine. I got the bill and was charged for the glass of wine. I tried to find her to see if I could get it fixed and could not find her. Waited ten minutes before just paying for it and leaving.
Carrie Mess
Service was great and the music was on point. Had a fantastic bloody mary. However everything else was just ok. The andouli was done with a very fine grind and the texture just was off. The mac and cheese was bland. The brussel sprouts were boring. Ribs were flavorful but dry. Sauces were good and helped but I was hoping for more.
James Jegers
Had lunch there today. Place had a real neat rustic charm to the inside, cozy, and fun. Went there with 6 people and everyone said they liked the food. On the table were 5 different sauces. We passed them around so that everyone could try them and they we all good. Some a little sweeter and others a little hotter, but nothing was to hot and spicy (not even the habanero hot one).
For the sandwich, drink, tax, and tip it came to around $15-$18. So while not an everyday lunch place, we definitely will be going back. Keep in mind the place is small, so you might have a wait if you go right at rush time.
Jen Locke
This place is always awesome. My favorite sauce is the Kansas City, but they're all good.
Mara McGhee
I love a place with good customer service. The staff seems genuinely happy to see you. The cutie patootie at the door has the best smile! Our waitress was attentive and quick.
My only thing about this place is that I have been there several times and every time they have been out of ribs. I mean, the other food they have is great and I am glad I get to try the menu, but I would love to try their ribs since it's a bbq joint.
I love all of the bacon things, too. Their desserts are phenomnomnom, but I am usually too full to get one.
Jeff Blaser
Parking is a challenge but the taste of the food makes worth it. Large selection. Service is friendly and quick. Drinks are pretty good to. Nice selection of sauces. Atmosphere screaming BBQ.
Kathy Bubeck
Smoke Shack catered out lunch; it was amazing. Pulled Pork/Pulled Chicken and Mac & Cheese. Great food and great service!
Garrett Eiben
BEST BBQ in MKE. The place is super homey on the inside and you will feel incredibly welcomed by the staff....but more importantly by the amazing smells; and once your food gets their - the taste. I always brag about this to my friends and family. I recommend their ribs, brisket, and pulled pork. They have I believe 5 sauces all unique to their own - Carolina gold, Texas, Kansas City, and others. I would also recommend their sides - their mac and cheese, really anything. If you go here during big festivals there is also a chance you may meet or see someone famous....say like the time I was there during Summerfest and Big Sean was eating there!

There's a reason these guys were named Best BBQ in Milwaukee County for 2016. The completely live up to expectations with an assortment of dry rub meats, the 14-hour-smoked brisket being a personal favorite. They have five sauces on the table for you to use as much or as little as you'd like, and they cover all the good barbeque sauces. If you're a BBQ fan, you wanna go here.
Kristin Godfrey
I love BBQ. So much that I even had a Texas brisket overnighted for my birthday celebration a few years ago. And Smoke Shack is the real deal. I am marginally obsessed with the burnt ends and everything on the menu has such a great warm smokey flavor. Smoke Shack is definitely craveable!
Miguelangel Veliz
Nice and cozy place to grab a quick meal.
Chris Olsen
Kyle behind the bar was excellent with conversation and service! Food was outstanding, save room in your fridge for leftovers! Delicious meats and sides! Chicago based traveler gives two thumbs up!
M G
Food was good but we were looking for more tasty food. Service was good!
Ronni Neumann
Excellent food and service. The portions are great--definitely enough to leave you with leftovers and a three meat combo will easily feed two people. Both eating in house and ordering take out are excellent, can't recommend this place enough!
Amy Sorce
The food is delicious and the staff are very nice. It gets a bit crowded during the main dinner rush and it is a small restaurant so you get seated on a first come/first served basis, but it's worth the wait. Also their pecan pie is a really great dessert item.
Brittany Breeze
If you're craving smoked meat this place is perfect. The atmosphere and decor are fun, the service is good, and the food is delicious. If you want your pick of the food be sure to come early as they do run out of the more popular meat options.
Cal Stempel
Ordered the pulled pork brisket combo with a side of Mac and cheese. Everything was delicious, but the pulled pork was exceptional. The interior is extremely cozy and warmly lit. Will definitely be coming back for great barbecue
KrisCris83
Went for lunch, food came out surprisingly fast, however it was because it was cold. The ribs were about 10 degrees under room temp and not well seasoned. The fried green tomato salad was ok. The tomatoes may have been fried in oil that was not to temperature as they were very greasy. Tried the bacon pecan brownies for dessert. They were very dry and crumbley like day old cake. Overall a let down. Bummer.
Alexei Marshakov
Tiny BBQ joint in the Third Ward. Bottled beers. Good selection of smoked meats, salads and sides. You can do meat combos, which gives you an opportunity to taste more than one meat. Brisket was a little tough. Overall, a good place for a quick bite.

The Smoke Shack in downtown Milwaukee is GREAT!!! It doesn't look like much from outside, but don't let that scare you from having the best BBQ in Milwaukee.
We are FIBs that come to Milwaukee 2 or 3 times a year, usually for baseball games at Miller Park (and Smoke Shack now has stands with a limited menu at Miller Park).
Today we came to see Gabriel Iglesias aka Fluffy at The Riverside Theatre. The theatre is just a few blocks from The Smoke Shack location, so it was a WIN-WIN for us.
My favorite is the brisket or the baby back ribs. If possible, try to get there earlier vs later in the day, because once they run out of a meat, it's done for the day. We arrived at 5:00 pm and they had already run out of ribs.
If you're in Milwaukee and like BBQ, don't miss the best in town and possibly the state!!!
Nancy Kenyon
We were glad to find this place on our way through Milwaukee. Great patio. Really nice & efficient server. They are being very COVID conscious, for which is nice to see. And a good neighborhood for a walk after.
Barrett Hall
Ordered some brisket and the food was good, how a southern bbq themed restaurant could not have coke products deeply upsets me uwu
Tianyao Ding
The place is good but the ribs is dry and cold and worse than the costco sold ones. The beef brisket is good.
David Shelley
Very friendly staff. I was here for brunch, the menu had something for everyone. Prices were right for the amount of food. Great service, worth coming back.
Lee Crigger
We were seated promptly, friendly waitress. Got the pulled pork with mac and cheese. The meat was overcooked and had a tough rind on it, which had then been caked with brown sugar like a Christmas ham. The sauces were lack luster with nothing about the entire experience standing out to me positively. This is one of those 'meh' places that I will forget that I went to until the next time that I walk in there.
Austin Hutton
This was an excellent place to eat while staying in milwaukee. They had plenty of food to eat and barbecue sauce to try. If you are a barbecue fan this is a must try restaurant. I personally had the pulled pork sandwhich and it was fantastic! If i lived in the area I would certainly be a return customer. I do however highly recommend it to anyone that is passing through.
Tamara Dowhower
Diamond in the rough! It's a small unassuming place you might easily miss, but the food is amazing! My son attends college in the area and whenever I visit, 9 times out of 10 this is our go-to. The pulled pork is something special!
Paul Stewart
Have been wanting some good smoked meats since we got back from Gatlinburg Tenn. Filled my wants and belly with great smoked meats. Becky C. took care of us on our 36 anniversary meal and made us feel like we been going there for years. Keep up the great work and we will see you soon.

Downtown dined at the smoke shack.
I'm hoping that they are satisfied with the amount of business they already have, and were just trying to give us working guys a break.
While the flavors were good, portions were small and I felt the brisket was fatty.
All in all, not as good as it has been.
John Kerkhoff
Sliced brisket was good, however the barbecue sauces were not good at all. The cornbread and mac and cheese was good. I think they may need better management as they were playing Star Wars music the entire time. Not Everyone likes Star Wars and wants to hear a theme song for an hour.

Amazing Food and Drinks..The Pulled Ham is the best I've ever Had
Julie A
Went for lunch with coworkers. Food was great! Staff were friendly and attentive for our needs. Were able to easily split the bill. Great experience!
Kaazavon
Excelent barbecue with an amazing selection of sauces that are worth a trip just to try them on the chips. It's very fast service as well as a very nice environment, with the blues brunch on the weekend meriting special notice.
Cheryl Ann Chapman-Cichy
Fun place to grab a drink ora meal! Fantastic
decore!
Evan Knapp
The only way to describe it is amazing bbq. I love the atmosphere, the various sauces to try with the meats. The corn bread is worth a shot also. Get there early though. They will run out of brisket.
Melissa Bradbury
BTW, it does look like a shack. Waitstaff friendly, food good. Ribs just came out of the smoker. Our waiter Ryan worked with us to make sure our kids had enough to eat as they thought sauces were to spicy for them! We didn't feel rushed but it was only Wednesday, but limited seating so on the weekends it could be a problem.
Jon Wyatt
The best smoked food in town with terrific barbecue sauces. The brisket and the pulled pork are not to be missed. The place is small, so when is busy, there will be a wait. But the space has a fun, old shack feel right in the middle of the Third Ward.
