Fantastic cocktails! One of my favorite places to visit in Milwaukee. So much history in this place and it shows throughout the bar. We did not go on the tour but I plan to come back again to do it. The staff was extremely friendly and offered great suggestions. Our cocktails were amazing and priced fairly. And I enjoyed my cigar a great deal. Highly recommend it!

I recently visited Milwaukee on a business trip, and a tour guide recommended this place off hand- we immediately knew we had to go. The atmosphere is incredible, with great ventilation (always important for a cigar bar). The cigars themselves were good quality, with a decent selection. Britney walked us through the ghost tour, and we had an incredible time. They handle the tour with respect- it's not just a sensational thing, you get the feeling that everyone involved cares about protecting the legacy of the people that passed through. I'll be going back again, and bringing my friends!

I've been coming here for a while. I've done the ghost tour... done the tarot...convinced myself I've had a paranormal experience in the bathroom 😜... I've smoked cigars and had strangers buy me a $40 dram of scotch. It's a fun place and I really like their spirit selection. Last night we went for a drink and a cigar after dinner. The majority of the time I don't like the cigar i end up with and think they cost too much. Still like going and love the vibe and will continue to go. I've never thought to eat here... but they do have food available.

Nice spot. The pizza tasted about as old as the place though, so we didn't try anything else, the cigars were overpriced. The waitress was friendly and her service was great. The atmosphere is nice, but the chess pieces were sticky and dirty, in these times cleaning is a must! Overall a nice place to hang out with friends and enjoy a cold drink, cigar and conversation.

I LOVE BOB AND SHAKER'S! I've stayed in both of the upstairs penthouses with friends, and Bob and the entire staff have been extremely accommodating, kind, knowledgeable, and fun! The atmosphere, history, and decor at Shaker's is like nothing else in the area. My friends and I generally end our birthday festivities at Shaker's to enjoy a cigar and a delicious martini. I recommend trying one (or all) of their themed dinners. They spend lots of time planning the dinners and pairing wines and spirits with each dish. Check out their upstairs patio or go on a tour where you can see the penthouses and the cellar! Shaker's also has guests that come in to do palm readings, do regular filming for television shows, host podcasts, host creative photoshoot events, and much more! Definitely recommend!

We all shared a pizza, it was very good. Cocktails were very good also, just be careful of the prices if your not getting rail. Think my friend ordered a drink with "Angel's Breath", and it was best Cocktails ever had however $35 each. We stayed for the fortune teller, she was impressive, as well as a ghost tour. This building has amazing history. I would encourage you to read up on history before the tour. It's difficult to cover everything during the tour. You will appreciate your tour more with a little research. The atmosphere is fantastic, however the seating seems sparse so plan accordingly.

Terrific ambience! There’s a Cajun feel…maybe a little of New Orleans in Milwaukee? Plenty of space to hang out with friends and have good conversation. This is probably the best spot to enjoy a cigar in Wisconsin! The rain did not slow us down. We ducked out to the rooftop patio when it slowed down and ran back inside when it poured. Great cigar selection and good whiskey options. We didn’t have room for food, but it looked good!

First time at Shakers and it was phenomenally fun. Drinks were great, cigars were nice, but the best part was our Ghost Tour Guide Mel! She killed it!!! Very informative and overall a wonderful performance by her! She was very engaging and knowledgeable about the building and the people who made the building what it is today. I would highly recommend taking the tour!!!

This is easily one of my favorite places to go for drinks in Milwaukee. The spooky theme works really well and they have multiple different areas on multiple floors to check out, all with a very pleasing aesthetic to them. The cocktails are all worth trying, I've gotten something different every time and never been disappointed. Personally recommend the sprecher ghost ale. Also, the Ghost Tour was really cool, the building has some great history to it. Colleen was an awesome tour guide!

Had the best time on the tour. Miranda was so much fun and had awesome stories. She made us laugh and kept us captivated the entire time. The building was fascinating with so much history packed into an hours time. Definitely spooky at times as well. The cocktails were great and the atmosphere of the bar made for a memorable evening. Honestly I love this place! Every time we're in Milwaukee we ALWAYS make this a must stop. If you smoke cigars or not check this place out. The uniqueness & history of this place is just an awesome place to hang out. We always go inside and enjoy our stay but this time we had our dogs, so we enjoyed our cigars on their outdoor patio on a beautiful day. The service has always been great. Shout-out to our latest bartender Zach, he was fantastic! The Shakers Ghost Ale is a must if you haven't had it. Shakers is the only location to get this beer so if you're in the area I highly recommend you stop grab a drink and see this place for yourself. Don't forget to tip your bartender!

Loved the tour and the history of this bar. Sophia was an excellent tour guide and let our group go at its own pace. I am not big into ghosts but some in our group were and a few that werent were after the tour was done. Drink prices were excellent and we all had a great time. Well worth the visit. I've done several of their tours and always fun. The last time I was there we had the greatest waitress of all time. She brought us shots in the middle of the tour and just went above and beyond all night. I didn't catch her name but would have liked to commend her personally. I also got a bit black out and just hope I tipped the f out of her!

Basically, I love everything about this place from the drinks to the tours to the people that work here. Michaela makes the best drinks and is really fun to talk to. Bob, the owner, is the sweetest person you'll ever meet and he was Dahmer's personal bartender back in the day. Ask for Sophia when you want to take a tour. I highly recommend and will definitely come back the next time I'm this far from home.

An absolutely wonderful place to go! My husband and I went for our wedding anniversary. The staff was just simply amazing. We went on a Sunday, (which is when their kitchen is closed 😞) so I wasn't able to try the food. However, going off everything else, I can bet it's delicious. 😁 Cigars and drinks were great. Atmosphere: phenomenal! Took the haunted tour. Superb...except a group of drunk sailor boys kind of took the creepiness factor away. Still had fun though! Plus, you can actually stay stay the night on the top (3rd) floor! Ooohhh that was something else! Obviously I highly recommend this place!

If you are near or in Milwaukee, and you only have time to go to one place, you have to go to Shakers! If you want to impress your out-of-town guests, take them to Shakers. Try to get on the ghost tour, order a "death in the afternoon," and order ANYTHING from their food menu...you can thank me later...but make sure to thank the exceptional staff and the owner, Bob, while you're there.

Interesting, but not all it was hyped up to be. There were only about five cigar choices there for purchase. The service was mediocre, at best. We were seated indoors, but it was quite warm, so we watched for a table outside, which was much better.

Had an excellent experience here with my fiance. Special shout out to Zack! Very knowledgeable, took the time to recommend us cigars and drinks, even sat down with us and had a great chat. The staff are very attentive and the environment is chill and welcoming. Kat kept a good eye on us and made sure we had what we needed. We didn't try the food, but if you are looking for drinks and cigars we had a great time here and I'm sure you will too.

Always have a wonderful time when visiting Shakers! The staff is friendly and knowledgeable, and the food is heavenly! Would recommended sitting on the roof top when the weather is nice, might even get lucky and see fireworks in the distance. Tours are also a treat, major props to tour guide Kirsten, she's energetic and clearly loves what she does!

My daughter and I spent the night in the Penthouse at Shaker's for my birthday last weekend. The room was comfortable and relaxing,but we didn't get frightened off and we managed to stay until morning. We did hear the creaking of the floorboards in other rooms while we were watching a movie and playing cards in the bedroom, the gate on the stairs slammed around 3:30, but I did not go check to find out why. I also heard what sounded like how police pound on the door in tv shows or in the movies coming from the second floor around 5:30 when the sun was coming up, but there was definitely no one down there. It was a fun experience and I am happy to have been able to do it. Thank you Bob and the Shaker's staff for giving me a memorable birthday experience.

Great place with a lot of history! Drinks are made well and they have a decent cigar collection. You are allowed to smoke cigars inside, so obviously there will be a lot of smoke in the air. If you dont smoke, this might be a problem for you but if you can handle the smell and the thick air, it's worth a trip to visit this place! Definitely check out the ghost tour 2.0 - its really a lot of fun and will give you the chills for sure.

We travelled from Ontario to watch the blue jays play, but our visit to Shakers and the Cream City Cannibal tour was definitely the highlight of our trip. Michaela the bar tender was fabulous, tour guide Brittany was excellent, met the owner Bob who gave us some more history on the bar a lot of original details still present. Pizza and meatballs were delicious! Will definitely return if back in Milwaukee.

This was our first "Ghost Tour" type experience and it did not disappoint! Our guide, Kirsten Weiss, was super knowledgeable and informative with the history and legacy of this place and really engaged to give us a wonderful first time experience. Aside from all that the bar itself had a great atmosphere and the cigars were great quality. Will definitely be back for the 2.0 tour and an overnight stay

First time to Shakers and fell in love with it. Great bar, fantastic staff. First bar in Milwaukee that I have seen Pappy Van Winkle bourbon. Bartender Kiley was a delight, talked to us about whiskey, let us look at the bottle. 10/10, whatever they are paying her is not enough. Top 10 bars in Milwaukee. We came into town for an convention and attended the Cream City Cannibal tour. Liam did an amazing job. He was extremely knowledgeable and it seemed like he enjoys his job. Jenna was a huge help in the gift shop and extremely knowledgeable. The drinks were great. The atmosphere and history is a real draw and shouldn't be missed. Anyone visiting Milwaukee should have Shakers on their must visit list! Thanks Liam and Jenna!

Great tour! We were on the Shaker tour with McKenna and she was very clear and informative! The building itself is beautifully restored and kept. There is a short outdoor portion, so be prepared, but we wore light jackets with 37 degree weather and totally fine. Do remember that it is a full-on cigar bar!! If you are sensitive to smoke or the smell of cigars/cigarettes be aware of this :) Also, it does mention this on website, but there is a story involving violence against s*x workers, but it is dealt with very respectfully. We were on a small group tour and if at all possible I suggest you do the same! Open to questions and connections, with a very friendly and inclusive vibe. Overall it is a very unique tour in a unique building! Recommend!

Had an amazing tour with Ciji! It was just my group and her and she shared her experiences and really let me and my friends ask whatever questions we wanted with the dowsing rods! It was so so fun. Shelby was our waitress and she was so sweet. Not sure who made our food or drinks but genuinely they were exactly what we needed before our tour. Love Shaker’s and will definitely be heading back the next time we can :)

We did the 7:00 p.m. Ghost tour tonight. I believe the tour guides name was Marley? She was amazing! This is the second time I have done the tour. She did way better than the first one. Very informational. Very friendly girl. Wonderful wonderful job. ( And freaking GORGEOUS by the way ). The only complaint I would have is now that they opened up the rooftop bar. The non-stop people walking through the tour to get to the rooftop was really annoying. You can't really get into the tour when you're constantly having people walk through the middle of it.

We have visited this establishment about 3-4 times, only for ghost tours (I have asthma so I can’t be around the cigar smoke for long periods of time). We enjoy hearing about the history and have experienced spooky encounters. In fact, we took a photo through a gap in the door, which may be blocking a “portal to hell”. After playing with my photo setting, I was able to see a spooky hooded figure that was standing in the back of the room. I have included the photo to my review. My only “complaint” was at one point during the tour our group felt that one of the tour guides tried to “show off” her relationship with a ghost, which came across as very cheesy and took away from the whole experience. Usually when we take the tour, the tour guides let the guests do individual investigations. This was not the case this time. I am not sure if this has changed since Covid, but it was the aspect of the tour we looked forward to the most. As always, the tour guides did a good job relaying the history.

Neat place with rich history. If you're intolerant to smoke, obviously don't come here. The ghost tour is wonderful and well done. Gorgeous bar with a great cigar and liquor selection.

The male bathroom ghosts are really nice however, they do not like the smoke nor the heavy traffic. They wish that they could have the place to themselves for a couple of nights.

loved this place. i took one tour and immediately came back for another (more in-depth) tour four days later. i was very quick to recommend this place to my friends who, like me, are interested in spirits / paranormal. very reasonable tour prices. tour guides very friendly and knowledgeable. the owner, bob, was incredibly awesome! you’re definitely guaranteed to have a paranormal experience if you attend one of the tours, i had a lot of things happen on the two tours that i’ve been on. i’d give this place more stars if i could and will definitely be returning and recommending this to more people!

Every staff member was so friendly and welcoming, from the bartenders to the ghost tour guide! Speaking of the ghost tour, Sophia was fantastic and so much fun! She made the whole experience fun, yet still spooky. We even had a pretty intense experience with a ghost that had "followed" us in from the outside. The smell of cigar smoke is so familiar and comforting to me, and the great staff made the place so homey. Definitely worth a visit, and you shouldn't skip the ghost tour if you have the time!

This is a very authentic locale haunt. They do a haunted and serial killer tour from here (look up the history). The vibe is pretty chill in the main floor, and the rooftop deck is nice and amazing open view....but... we ended up back on the main floor, have 1 drink, and were gonna check out and move on...until our main mixologist Zach concocted the tastiest adult root beer float I've ever had. 3 later....my wife and I are smitten. Solid people, eclectic vibe, and a courageous barman absolutely made the evening for us.

Loed this place!! Zach at the bar made a bunch of cocktails we challenged him to! Met a bunch of lovely ladies preparing for the ghost tour. Jeffrey domer eat your heart out, he used to drink here!. I really enjoyed the old school bathrooms from back in the day. Good rooftop bar for the sunny days. Huge variety of cigars to choose from and good air con so its not overpowrring inside. They offer fun tours about ghosts and the serial killer, if that's what you're in to. Thanks so much to the crew... such a fun night.

First time here on a Friday in the winter. I know it's a cigar bar, but the smoke was very overwhelming. We stopped in because of their drink menu and the ambiance. Did get a table by a floor vent which helped, but was really warm then also. But our waitress was great and the drinks were really good. But the crowd was another thing...in the warmer months they have the patios open outside so maybe then it's worth another try. But unless you love cigar smoking, I wouldn't recommend it in the winter sadly.

Interesting place to say the least. A hidden gem. The ambience is very memorable and give the whole experience a different taste that you'd normally expect. As the name suggests, this is a cigar bar and if you do not like the smell of cigar you might wanna consider another place. There's not much smoke, as this place offers a front outside seating as well as rooftop seating. These open areas help reduce smoke to almost nonexistent but the strong smell of cigar will still be there. The service is great. Our bartender was very nice. Unfortunately she ended up charging my card twice (one of which was a completely wrong amount so it wasn't like it was a duplication error). The issue was quickly resolved once I reached out to management. We sat on the rooftop, which we were told is only open on weekends. The place was perfect. There was a small bar up there and the service was fast. We ordered a pizza. It was very good. One of the best. Definitely better than what you expect from a bar. We were impressed. The whole place is basically a museum. Going upstairs you'll see different artifacts and decorations. Very interesting. Unfortunately, the rooftop requires going Nemours flights of stairs. It's a bit steep. Not very friendly for a person with mobility limitations.

Really cool place. I love history, and the basic ghost tour was worth the price. Leah was a great guide and was very personable. Drinks were good as well. Only downfall is the food is very expensive, so we didn't end up getting anything, although there were things on the menu that sounded awesome! Will go back for the 2.0 tour and the Cream City tour.

We arrived early and were a little nervous but met Devon at the bar and she was fantastic. I’m not a huge liquor drinker so she assessed what I would like and made me a cocktail that I would (and did) love. Our tour was totally awesome. This bar is such a vibe. Speakeasy feel as soon as you walk in. If you take the Ghost tour you learn the back half of the building was actually once a speakeasy. Liam was our tour guide - and boy was he a great storyteller. He kept me captivated for the entire hour tour. Many interesting stories that belong to this building and the people who inhabited it were shared with us. Do yourself a favor and check out this bar - book a tour while you’re at it!

Came from out of town to visit friends they took me here and it did not disappoint! Katie was behind the bar happy and ready to make us drinks and was more than kind when asking about my service dog (animals not allowed typically but I do have a medical condition and sometimes I’m met with resistance) she was lovely and let us sit at the bar and had great conversation! We then signed up for the Dahmer tour with our guide Liam and not only did I learn A TON about the area and Jefferey Dhamer but Liam also have a little local facts you won’t find in a documentary. Zach was awesome behind the bar and his side kick Michaela we literally wanted to pack up in our suitcases and take home she was so cool. I went here for a Mother's day trip to do the ghost tour 2.0. My tour guides were Ellen and Leah and they were so great! The tour was very informative and fun, I especially thought the basement was cool! After the tour we hung out in the bar. The atmosphere is so old school. It is a cigar bar, so expect it to be smokey! I had help from Sophia at the cigar counter. I never brought a cigar before and had several questions and she was very helpful! Thanks! I ended up with a cherry flavored cigar and I loved it. Throughout the tour and after we got a few drinks. The speical cocktail (I'm blanking on the name) is great *IF* you like absinthe! Zack and Michaela helped my group at the bar, very friendly even though it was busy! Once we were done with the tour and sat at a table we were helped by Emily, Breanna, and when we split our water cups Lori came to the rescue with a towel! Overall your experience was wonderful and we're eyeing renting the upstairs one of these days! Everyone working was so kind and friendly even though it was a rather busy Friday night!

Really like this bar! We did two tours here. The Cream City Cannibal tour was historical and Siena did a good job balancing history, and the gruesome details. She is very respectful of the folks she is on the tour with, and it helped that our group was super friendly. After the tour we nearly closed out the bar, and all of the staff is fantastic! Jen is a great bartender and so is the fantastic bartender who is getting her PHD! She was friendly and fun! 2nd tour was the Ghost 2.0 tour, lots of spooky feelings on this tour. Never used dousing rods before and boy was that interesting. I am not sure if I am spelling the tour guides name right, but I feel like it was Ceegee..? She was super fun, and definitely loves her job. Lastly, for those of you reading this, if you go there a Friday/Saturday, get your palm read! The Psychic/Palm Reader is incredible accurate and was very sweet. Overall, this will be a regular stop when we are in Chicago, so awesome!

My friends and I had dinner before our Ghost 1.0 tour and our waitress was not the most attentive. We wanted to believe she was having a bad day based on her snobby attitude, meanwhile we were polite and patient. It took an hour 1/2 to get our food - couldn't get her attention until we were basically finished with our meal to grab us all napkins. However, the pizza was delicious and thankfully they pushed our tour back 30 mins to give us some extra time to eat. The Shakers 1.0 tour surpassed expectations! My friends and I had so much fun on this tour. Our tour guide (who was awesome) made it fun while providing so much history and spooky facts about the building!! Overall I absolutely LOVE Shakers, it's an awesome place I'd highly recommend to anyone and can't wait to go on more tours, but I hope to never have the same waitress again :)

I always love coming to shakers. It's a great place to come and relax and enjoy some great wine and whiskey. I love that you can sit and enjoy a nice cigar and a drink at the bar. My wife doesn't like the smoking but she wasn't educated to the fact that there was smoking in the bar before booking the tour. I believe she left a bad review because she wasn't educated to the fact that it was a cigar bar. Me on the other hand I love the bar and have been coming there for many years and will still come there for many years to to come. Keep up the good work and the tour was awesome.

Our experience with "the whoring 20's tour" was outstanding. Although it was rainy, and we were the "only" two people on the tour, Sophia arrived on time, with umbrellas...offered to either run the tour or allow us to reschedule. As we won't be this way again for a while, we elected to continue in the rain. Sophia gave the tour with as much excitement and detail as if there were 20 of us not just 2. In a lifetime of tours all over the country, one denominator remains consistent. Great tour guide...great tour. So, if you have a desire to do any of the Shakers Tours, we strongly suggest requesting Sophia because like a true professional, you get her best no matter the size of the group, and her best is firm understanding of the subject matter, the ability to answer questions, a good sense of humor and an innate ability to make the tour fun and enjoyable for the guests.

My husband loves a good cigar, and good whiskey even more. He was in heaven, able to have both in one place. This was one of our first stops on our 3 day adventure in Milwaukee. The atmosphere was incredible. We will definitely be back on our next trip.

We went on the Shaker 2.0 tour and had an amazing time! It was Sienna’s (our guide) first day as a guide and we couldn’t tell at all— she was great! We loved her retelling of the history and helped us have very cool experiences with the divining rods. Our group was fun too. Lots of reviews complaining about the smoke, but it’s a CIGAR lounge... I thought it really contributed to the atmosphere and felt authentic to its history. Thanks for the experience!

An absolutely fun fabulous place to go for a cigar and a drink. The atmosphere is (other than smokey) very fun and period specific to the later 1800s. The menu is small but it changes regularly and the food has always been fantastic for me. They have a great bar offering, however, it is not the normal spirits and wines. These will be vintage and boutique drinks that you may not recognize. To me this is even better than usual drink list. Finally, the cigar selection is small but good. Everything they have is good and you will not be disappointed. I know the location is also supposed to be haunted and has a tour, however, I have not been on it yet.

This bar has one of the coolest aesthetics in the city. It's a great place to grab a drink and hang out with friends. Additionally, the building has a long history which leads to a fascinating ghost tour. Our tour guide was Elizabeth. I highly recommend her. Her passion for and experience with the supernatural is unparalleled. She brings history alive with her stories and gives you an opportunity to connect with the spirits. COVID 19 considerations: The building has a nice space for outdoor seating. Our tour guide wore her mask throughout the tour. I felt comfortable while wearing my mask indoors and there was plenty of space to social distance from our guide during the tour.

Had fun. I did notice however that the story of where Molly’s bones were buried is different between tour guides. Really important that the story is consistent! Our current guide said her bones were buried in the walls, while the previous tour guide we saw a few years ago said her bones were in the shed. I also personally felt we spent too much time on the metal rods. I would have loved more stories, history, and time exploring the area.

We did not take the tour. However, we did enjoy two very good cigars in the comfortable vintage sitting area in the sunshine on a gorgeous day. I fell in love with the atmosphere. On a Wednesday evening there were not many customers and we had the sitting area to ourselves. It was starting to get busy as we were finishing up. The bartender was sweet and friendly, making some great local recommendations. Yes- pricey is the common theme of the reviews but we would make the purchases all over again. In fact, this place alone feels like a return trip to Milwaukee would be worth it!

First, this is a Cigar bar. There are people smoking Cigars here(grandfathered in from the smoking ban). If smoking is not your thing BE WARNED. Second this is a high end $$$ drinking establishment in an historical atmosphere. They claim it is haunted, and they have tours. This kinda adds to the fun.The Thursday night "house band" carries you back to the forgotten era before the great war. We arrived a bit early and they had a complementary wild boar taco bar. This may have been because it Wednesday before Thanksgiving. The food was excellent. They have a menu with some different flavors and it changes frequently. If you enjoy a good cigar, or don't mind the smoke for a night. Check out this unique, historical, Milwaukee experience.

If you've never done the ghost tour I highly recommend you do it in the off season. (Nowhere near Halloween). The first time I went my group were the only people and our guide was great. We had plenty of time to ask questions, look around and get the full story. The second time was a week before Halloween. There were 4 groups totalling over 14 people. Though our guide was great, one group was drunk and ruining the experience for the rest of us.

Tonight June, 25 2019 I went to Shakers cigar bar! I was not there to drink or smoke, I was there with my dad and sister and we went there for the amazing Cajun cuisine! It was phenomenal and worth going there again! Also to top off the great food they also have a very nice selection of dessert! But To REALLY top all that delicious food, Shakers is famous for being haunted. Shakers gives 4 or 5 ghost tours! The ghost tours give you background knowledge on why Shakers is haunted. My dad, sister and I did the basic ghost tour. The most mild one. But there is a more extreme ghost tour which is ghost tour 2.0 and there’s more tours, but I don’t know the names of them. But if you are looking for a good time and a place to hang with your friends or family, you should definitely go to Shakers Cigar Bar. You don’t have to smoke there but you can if you want, but I do recommend Shakers and there amazing food and ghost tours! Enjoy your time at Shakers!

When you walk into the bar (especially the back bar) you feel like you’ve been put back into the 1920s. The original wood work, some art, stain glass, & more is beautiful! I’m an old soul so it’s right up my ally. I really enjoyed the ghost/history tour. The place is haunted! I know this not just because of the stories that where told; but because of the energy I felt. I am an Empath & got a headache from the energy in the basement. And then started crying upstairs where one of the murders took place. My cocktail & bartender service was great. The only down side was the cigar smoke. I would have stayed longer but it just burned my eyes. I will be coming back for the paranormal investigation! Can’t wait :)

If you want to step back in time, then this is the place for you. I love Victorian decor. It appears they kept everything original. I had a smile on my face looking at what some of the people were wearing in here. They dressed up old world looking, which added to the atmosphere. I went with some friends from work to smoke cigars(which is a plus side also for this place) not knowing that Professor Pinkerton and The Magnificents were playing. The band is by far the best band I have seen yet in Milwaukee. Their style is a Jazzy, Big Band sound. Very talented. Let it be noted that, we sat right in front of the band and volume was perfect. I could still hear my friends talking to me without yelling "what!" all the time. For how busy the place was for a Thursday night, the waitress was friendly and always made sure that we were taken care of. I was informed that the food is delicious here too. All in all we had a great time and will be returning to Shakers again.

Me, my girlfriend, and my friend decided to go on the Cream City Cannibal Tour during a weekend visit to Milwaukee. I was apprehensive at first but decided it would be a unique experience and booked the tickets anyway. Kevin, our tour guide was very knowledgeable on the subject and was willing to answer any questions or correct any misconceptions we might have. The tour was really informative and definitely did not feel like a glorification of Dahmer or anything like that. We all agreed we were happy we went and would recommend it to anyone interested in true crime, history, or simply having a one-of-a-kind experience

My girlfriend and I did the 60 minute ghost tour guided by Ellen and it was it was amazing. Ellen did a great job. Before the tour started we had dinner, the pizza was fantastic. During our dinner my girlfriend used the ladies restroom and while she was in the stall the lock on the stall door released. She didn't think much of it and didn't say anything about it until Ellen took us into the ladies room during the tour and explained some of the things that happened in there. When Ellen said that some times the lock on the stall door is unlocked by the ghost of the little girl in there my girlfriend just freaked out saying that it happened while she was in there!!!!! We are definitely looking forward to the 2.0 ghost tour on our next visit!!!!!

My boyfriend and I stopped in a few weeks ago for the first time after I had heard about it on the podcast, Real Ghost Stories Online. Not certain what to expect, we walked in around 3 on a Saturday. We were the only ones there and were welcomed in by a young bartender. We easily got the best service either of us had ever experienced as he told us a brief history of the place as well as some of his own experiences there. He recommended a delicious pizza was quick with all of his service. As we were the only ones there a that time we figured the service could not be quite as good if we went during a busy time another day. We were proven wrong on our second visit, as the service was every bit as good the second time around. Love this bar and all of the quirks along with it!

Googled "fun bar, Milwaukee" and got Shakers. Were a little leery about how smoky it might be, so planned to eat elsewhere then go to Shakers for the tour. But we stopped there first, just to check out the smoke factor and really, it was minimal. Wound up eating there--the pizza was fantastic--and our waiter was funny, nice, right on the ball. Then we went on the tour w/ James. Hearing the building's history alone was worth the price, but the ghost tales were great. I don't know if we just lucked into a terrific mix of people in our group, but with the asides & one-liners people threw out, we were laughing til our sides hurt. The tour ran an extra half hour, and that was alright with us. So I recommend the place highly, for the food, the service, the ambiance, the history, the ghost stories & the fun.

Our tour guide was Andrea, who was a fantastic guide and occasionally stopped to ask if we had any questions and added little details throughout the tour. We reside in a south suburb of Chicago and started visiting Shakers Cigar Bar about 8 years ago during one of our many weekend getaways to Milwaukee. We googled haunted places and luckily came across this gem. I can't say enough about this place and come back once a year. It's always a hit with anyone new we bring. They offer everything from haunted ghost tours, food and home made pizza. My absolute favorite is the many different Absinthe cocktails! You never know what to expect. Sometimes there is a medium or psychic, a band or a friendly ghost hitting on you at the bar. The cigar selection is filled with your standard selections to some rare or new to you stogies unique to the area. This place is filled with history. I highly recommend taking the 2.0 haunted tour. The owner is always there making sure everyone is having a good time. I'm assuming he must be a great to work for because I see the same employees (and ghosts) year after year. After working a huge portion of my life in restaurants you know that's a good sign. I promise I'm not getting paid to write this review nor did anyone ask me to lol. I just like sharing the fun! Seriously, stop at Shakers Cigar Bar if you're in town or passing through. If you don't love it then maybe you might enjoy another boring brewery tour.

The 1800's bar alone was worth the trip. Lots of cool architecture to look at while you have a drink and smoke a good cigar. Went on the tour, but wasn't really impressed with it. Just someone telling you stories in well lit rooms, I'd have preferred to go into the basement with all the lights out and the tour guide just having a flashlight. I think that would enhance the creepy factor of the tour and then I would have enjoyed it more.

A bit more trendy than some of the other cigar bars in the greater Milwaukee area. But the lack of adequate "cigar lounge" - style seating is a bummer. The humidor is the smallest I've seen in a cigar bar (a single glass enclosure). I prefer walk-in and the freedom to look around, see prices, and inspect on my own. A bit more pricey than I'm used too also, but I suppose that goes with being "trendy". They serve food but I didn't have any, so I can't speak to that. It did look good, but what a throwback it was seeing food prepared in a smoky room. The place was more smokey than I expected but perhaps that's just because it was fairly full and busy. You could see and smell the smoke coming out from 10 feet from the entrance. Watched what appeared to be an employee smoking a cigarette inside. Wouldn't rush back.. Cool to check it out once anyway.

A great cigar bar! The selection of cigars is varied and wide. A full bar and the pizza is terrific! This is an old-fashioned place with an old time, antique atmosphere of yesteryear. Just make sure you enjoy the smell of cigar smoke!!!

This is a really cool bar with a really great atmosphere and an interesting tour. Our tour guide was not fantastic, she was difficult to listen to and didn't share interesting facts and background, just random unrelated stories in a not so captivating way. It could have been done so much better. The bar tenders, however, were awful. They were mispouring, messing around, messing up drinks, seemingly on purpose. I wouldn't order hard alcohol or a cocktail here if I were you.

This is hands down the best bar ever probably in the entire universe!!! Gabby was the best server we have ever had. She came over to check on us multiple times and was very helpful and friendly. The atmosphere was amazing. They had vintage furniture, lots of plants, fantastic music, and lots of amazing artwork by artists such as Leonetto Cappiello. On top of having great cigars, scotch, and beer, the bar is also one of the most haunted places in America. They offer tours as well which we will definitely be coming back to do. Fun fact: Jeffrey Damer kidnapped 7 people on the street they the bar sits on. They also serve hot tea which is unusual for a bar. We are definitely coming back to Milwaukee simply to come back to this bar! You can also bring your own cigars if you are drinking there.

Great bones in the place. You walk into a high ceiling authentically original space. Decent music playing. It's what you'd expect from a cigar bar. But it seems like they're more into the schtick of the atmosphere than the substance. Our bartender was sweet but her knowledge of the potables wasn't up to par. The brief whiskey list, which admittedly has some decent names on it like Eagle Rare, had a lot of out-of-stocks. At 6:00pm on a Saturday before the big night. And I also saw a few other reviews about the overpriced cigars... Absolutely accurate, but they allow you to smoke your own so come prepared. Now if this was industry standard I wouldn't have a problem with it, but I've been to a couple other cigar bars (Havana Garage in Omaha... Highly recommend it!), and they don't gouge their customers on their cigars. Plus, the cutting/lighting accoutrement is on the lighter side. Ultimately: pleasant staff, and a good atmosphere for someone who brings their own cigars and drinks Jack on the Rocks.

I would recommend bringing your own cigar - their's are a bit on the pricey side, but their drinks can't be beat. The tour haunted tour, on the other hand, is pretty good. Most of the tour guides know their stuff: the only reason I say that is because I have done the tour multiple times and have heard different stories each time. All in all, I would go again.

If you enjoy cigars, there aren't a lot of places around to enjoy them. That gives Shakers 3 stars right off the bat. Great ambiance - it's a historic building with its own ghost stories and everything. There may even be a palm reader for those who believe. Prices are not for the faint hearted. A decent cigar can set you back $30, so bring your own and spend your money on expensive whiskey instead.

I had been visiting Shaker's on and off for some time before I tried their Cosmo pizza, mind you, I've tried pizza's all over town for over 4 decades but this one really caught me by surprise. The onions on the pizza were carmelized, that just blew me away, the flavor was intense without being over powering. I love the variety of craft beers, I have yet to try all of them but I've enjoyed everything I've tried so far. I'm very picky about the quality of food & beverages and I gotta tell you I haven't been disapointed yet and I doubt I ever will be at this place. The cigar selection is nice, excellent quality cigars, but if you're looking for White Owl you might be out of luck. The ghost tour is a lot of fun, you get to hear a lot about the history of the place and some of the strange phenomena that occurs there. One time a friend brought her friend there and kind of freaked out when she felt somebody touch her on the shoulder, but there was nobody there. I joked about maybe ordering what she was drinking, but she told me she just got there and hadn't ordrered one yet... that was... interesting. The staff is friendly & courteous, knowledgeable about their products and will engage in conversation with you when they're not taking care of other customers. I love the victorian setting in both the architecture & decor, it makes for a unique experience seldom found anymore. To get into Shaker's you go up two steps, physically & socially, I recommend this place to everybody.

What a fun night. We did the ghost tour and spent an hour learning the history of this great old cigar bar. Murder, prostitution, the Capone brothers and more. Our tour guild was friendly and fun. Unfortunately, she just couldn't get louder than the busy bar so we missed some details. Overall a great night was had by all. Btw, we believe we captured pictures of fast moving Orbs from the 'live' photos we photographed in the basement.

Visited last week Saturday and was very disappointed with the tour. Our tour was supposed to start at 9 and was 20 minutes late. The tour guide seemed overwhelmed with how busy it was. He didn’t have much to say about the three things we stopped to look at. Overall it was just boring and not worth the money. Another member of the group has done it before and said it was great. Maybe it was just the guide.

This is without a doubt one of the most unique bars in Milwaukee. A haunted history, ghost tours, Sprecher beers on tap, psychic readings, occasional live music, awesome playlist, warm inviting staff, knowledgebase of staff is great for both booze and cigars, some of the best food available in town and sneakily in my top ten for pizza city wide. Not to mention stunningly beautiful inside.

I have been craving to find a bar for a more adult, mature audience in Milwaukee since I moved here. After being disappointed by bars like Replay, BBC, and various others on Brady & Water St., I found Shakers by suggestion of my girlfriend and had a BLAST! I take medicine for two ruptured discs in my back so I can't drink much, so I made up for that by having two cigars and an awesome Shrimp dish (which I'd certainly recommend). Our waitress had blonde hair (not sure of her name) and was on the ball! She saw when our drinks neared empty and promptly asked if we wanted another. Between the service, the awesome atmosphere, the gathering of adults (of all ages, but all above 28), and great cigars and drinks, I'd really suggest this cigar bar to everyone. The man sitting next to me brought a date who "hates smoke" and kept giving me a death stare as I smoked a cigar which I paid $15 for and that annoyed me a bit. Don't go to a cigar bar if you hate smoke, because I don't feel like going out of my way to make sure the smoke goes straight up in the air all night.

Live down street and we thought we would stop in to try their Bloody Marys. Disappointed. We were told "a few minutes" because they weren't supposed to be open. $24 and 30 minutes later we have vodka and tomatoe juice garnished with a lemon and lime wedge. The bartender was swearing and complaining about people thinking they were open when they weren't supposed to be. Not a good experience and won't be back for bloodies. Cigars are about triple the price compared to the surounding smoking lounges within a 20 min drive. Drink prices were average and foods was expensive. Really cool atmosphere. I'd recomend bringing your own smoke instead of paying $30 for a $12 cigar.

I love that Shakers is hidden away from the obnoxious frat boy experiences you see at sports bars and on Water Street. Speaking as a young adult who likes to be social from time to time, it's nice to have a chill place to relax over a decent cocktail. Shakers has no TV's - so you're forced to socialize. The music is classic and tasteful, and their bartenders are just that - bartenders. Not she-she, fancy pants "mixologists". If you wants a single plum floating in perfume served in a man's hat, go to Milwaukee Street. If you want a prohibition era gin cocktail made well by a friendly bartender, come to Shakers.

I want to Shaker's bar for the whole ghost experience I paid $25 a ticket so 50 fricken $ to walk around a basement and make claims there was all these stories about ghost and there was nothing and had no indication that there was anything or ever happened there and got harassed by this big black woman that says she was a psychic and told me a bunch of things that anyone could have obviously known just by looking at me. Why oh why didn't I listen to that voice in my head saying it gonna be stupid dont do it, and it was. And the food was ridiculously overpriced and a glass of wine which is probably 5 oz cost 8- $9. #MAYWORM
