This is hands down my favorite restaurant in Milwaukee. They are constantly updating their menu with delicious, creative dishes. They have great cocktails, too. I always learn a lot from eating and drinking here because they use a lot of unusual ingredients in unique ways. I always have to Google a lot to find out exactly what I'm eating, it's super fun. 🙂 I've been there so many times and I have never been disappointed by anything I've ordered. They have "Animal" and "Vegetable" sections on the menu so it's easier to choose dishes based on your food preferences. I've always had good experiences with the staff. They're really knowledgeable about the menus and super friendly. The restaurant has cute and quirky duck-themed decor. They've upped their portion sizes since moving to the 2nd St. location, too, which is a major plus. Be aware that they are only open for dinner. Eat here!!! You will not be disappointed.

We celebrated a very special evening here. My parents had never met my husband as we met and married in the pandemic. Odd duck was the first place we wanted to bring them when they arrived from Ireland. The staff from front desk to our servers were excited and helped us celebrate wonderfully. The food was just incredible every dish more delicious than the last. Flavors, textures and presentation just spectacular. Can’t wait for our next celebration, our guests are even requesting a second visit before they go home!

Came here last night for dinner for the first time and everything was so delicious! Our waitress was Celestine; everything we got she recommended and we loved! From drinks to dinner to dessert, all of her suggestions were absolutely delicious! We ordered the cheese board for $20, all of the cheeses were so yummy and different. We also got the broccoli salad, papas rellanas, oyster mushrooms and the curry! All so yummy!! I will definitely be coming back, if you live in the Milwaukee area or just visiting this place is definitely a must!

I haven't been to odd duck since they moved, but damn food and service have not suffered, we went for a friend's birthday and I'm pretty sure we order one of everything off the menu for our group of six, the deviled eggs were life changing, and the tuna was out of this world, a friend who doesn't like fish even said she enjoyed it. The staff was amazing we got there just on time and the hostess gave us drink menus and the group at our table was still sitting around and they gave us a round of drinks for free. Just great all around and for all the food we got it was well under 400 which for our group with drinks is unheard of. But well worth it.

Words will never do this food justice. Simply impeccable, one of the best meals I've ever had. Be prepared to try a few different things, and I would recommend going with people you can share plates with so that you can try as much as you can. Plenty of food for vegetarians or carnivores. Don't forget to leave room for a gorgeous cocktail or elegant dessert.

Very good. Some dishes were amazing, others were okay. The moqueca and duck were my favorites, and the tempeh dish was good too. Nothing was bad, just not our personal favorites. We sat at the bar, cuz they were packed. The bartenders were great. We got a variety of drinks and local/craft beers. Good experience. Remember to make a reservation!!

First time going last night for my birthday dinner and let me start by saying how incredible the food was. The combos were so interesting and everything was a ten. My one word of caution is the dishes don’t scale for anything over 3 people. We had 5 people and found it hard to divvy up some of the dishes so I’d either be prepared to order 12-15 dishes depending on your appetite for a group that size or keep the visit for you and a SO or friend. Service was top notch, atmosphere was great, cocktails were tasty. I can’t state enough that you NEED TO GO.

This is a place that wasn't my choice because I'm not into plate sharing but we had a gift card to spend. I found it to be a fantastic dining experience. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful from the moment you walk in. The cocktails were nicely prepared. The mushroom dish on the vegetable side should be a mandatory selection for every diner. The polenta in the pork dish could stand alone for its texture and flavor.

An outstanding meal with a wide array of choices for the herbivore and the omnivore! The service was great, the pace was casual, and the food was amazing. One of my most memorable meals. My adult son discovered Odd Duck for a trip we were making to Milwaukee. Wow! What a find.

Best meal in a long time. Every bit was at least very good, and plenty of excellent dishes. A seafood stew and a sambar/idli dish were my favorite. Be aware that menu is always changing to use local/current ingredients (and that's a great thing.) Also love the new space. It seems that they successfully greatly expanded their seating without losing food and service quality which is extra hard work current staffing, sourcing, and pricing challenges. So well done everyone. 👐

Everything was super delicious. Service was great. The beef was soooo tender, we could cut it with a spoon! My first drink was so delicious and refreshing .(the 83) the second one wasnt my favorite. Only 4 out of 5 just because it was very pricey, which we knew ahead of time, but still.

This post is going to have pictures from my last 2 visits. The atmosphere is great. The staff is great. The concept is great. The space is great. The food is great. Odd Duck is Great. This is possibly my favorite place in Milwaukee. I cannot think of an occasion that I wouldn’t want to celebrate here. They fill up quick on the weekends so get a reservation in early… you can also grab available seats at the bar to eat if you are just dropping in. Every time I come here I am impressed and they will continue to have my business.

Absolutely some of best food in Milwaukee! They always do magic with short rib, octopus, and their veggie plates. Grab a board and cocktail because they do those right too. And that creme brulee!

It is also worth nothing that this is one of the very few restaurants in Milwaukee that require proof of vaccine to go in. We currently do not feel comfortable going to any restaurant that doesn’t require it, so we are especially grateful that the owners of the Odd Duck are being so responsible.

This is by far one of our consistently favorite restaurants to go to in the Milwaukee area. From hand crafted cocktails to lots of shareable, ever-changing plates of food, Odd Duck really sets the stage for the Milwaukee food scene. We were in Chicago at Girl and the Goat and the wait staff were talking about how much they loved Odd Duck! I love the idea of small "tapas" style plates. We you go they recommend 2-3 plates per person... ha... When we go, it usually ends up being 4-5 plates... it's that good! The menu ranges and changes for seasonal ingredients. The last time we went some of our favorites included calabrese meatballs, morel mushroom toast, ehtiopian injera flat bread, oaxacan hibiscus and queso empanadas, and the peruvian seafood stew! As you can see from the list, a very eclectic range of dishes of different regions and a healthy choice of vegan dishes!

We got hear around 7 (6/17/18) and ordered the Roasted duck and strawberry angel cake with goat cheese and some strawberry ice cream that was slightly salty in a amazing way! For a drink I ordered the Orange Manhattan Bourbon; we also sat outside as the place was a bit busy. Overall the customer service was great: moved with a purpose, friendly, helpful, and prompt. We were seated quickly and ordered shortly after. My drink was good, however is had way too much ice, by the time I finished it the ice had melted and my drink was watered down. Not worth the $10. The roasted duck was great. This isn’t a place to go looking for a full belly, but after eating I was in a good place. The cherry on top was the desert, I don’t recall the name but I did describe it the best I could. It was perfect, cake was soft and sweet, strawberries were fresh, and the goat cheese paired nicely with the ice cream. Bathrooms were clean too. Overall, probably the best restaurant I visited while in Milwaukee

Still the BEST restaurant in Milwaukee. Book ahead of time as the seating is limited. Amazing food from all different cultures, the menu is always changing. Try something new and share! The bar and wait staff are highly trained. Great beer and cocktail list from professional bartenders. We recently went again for a pre thanksgiving meal and each time is a true experience. Below was the best take on green bean casserole it was to die for. One of many great dishes. Cheers!

I was traveling through Milwaukee quickly and wanted to eat something"new". This place is a really cool laid back place with a great menu if you want fresh, very well composed small plates. The passion for making good food, drinks and atmosphere were pretty obvious to me. Will go again next time I'm in Milwaukee.

Probably the most enjoyable night out I have ever had. Delicious food that,changes frequently. The server was awesome and was helpful with the menu. Get the cold noodles if they are serving it. It's a very unique experience.

Hit or miss on dishes. Worth a visit to experience for the food adventurers. Get the board to experience the cheeses and add a mousse of your liking but be aware they charge you for additional bread and soda refills. Plates are small and prices are expensive. We may return in a year. New location is more spacious.

Ate here for the first time this past week. I made a reservation online and there was an option for me to add the dietary restrictions/allergies for any members of our party. I have dairy & egg allergies and when we arrived, the staff had an annotated menu ready for me. They went through each item on the menu and indicated whether or not it was safe for me to eat or whether there were items that could be omitted to make it safe. EXCELLENT customer service. Aside from this, everything we ordered was incredible. We had 3 people in our party and we ordered 4 small plates, one cheese, one meat, and a vegan dessert. We also ordered a few different cocktails. Every food and drink item that we ordered was delicious. I will absolutely be coming back!

So amazingly delicious. I found the prices to be quite high for a small plate establishment and probably won't be back because of this. But if you have more discretionary funds than I have I could see you enjoying this place regularly. The staff is great, the service is awesome, and as I said the food delicious. I really wanted to give this place 5 stars but couldn't. Nice atmosphere and great drinks couldn't quite donut alone though. The food all sounded great; however, every dish was served with so many different flavors that it all became a bit overloaded. The whole point of tapas is to order more plates for more flavors; odd duck tried to give you all the flavors in one plate. For example, the brussel sprouts were only a small portion of the meal, other flavors (like the cheese) completely over powered the meal. Same with the eggplant, too many different flavors and textures. I'm sure I will try you again odd duck, and I hope it meets all the hype the next time.

What a wonderful dining experience. There's a reason why multiple friends/coworkers have recommended odd duck to us. Cocktails were unique and tasty. The two dishes that blew us away were the seafood stew and the lamb. Our waiter Sean was phenomenal, and made the whole night memorable. His recommendations were on point, and we could tell how much pride he had in the restaurant. The cadence of the night was perfect - every dish seemed to come out just as we were finishing the last. The open kitchen was enjoyable to watch- we were a bit awe struck at the quality of food coming out of such a small square footage.

Odd Duck lived up to its hype and awesome reviews! My husband and I just moved to the MKE area and decided to go to the Odd Duck for our anniversary. Everything was SPECTACULAR. Our favorite dishes were the broccoli and seafood stew. Sean was our server and was extremely helpful/polite. Sean provided us with a special anniversary card and complimentary champagne! We have been coming here for the last 4 years. We always use it as a place to go if we want to celebrate something because we can never stop ourselves from ordering as much as possible. Everything is always fantastic; the drinks, the food, the service. Make a reservation at least 2 weeks in advance if you are trying to come in on a Friday or Saturday night. We always get their oyster mushroom dish (it varies throughout the year), this last weekend we really enjoyed a charcuterie board and I had the #41 cocktail which was great! I would avoid this establishment if you don't enjoy trying new things and/or hate flavorful food!

Outstanding; the food, the ambiance, the drinks! It is worth the drive to dine here. Not exactly a hidden gem, since it is extremely popular and reservations are always recommended, even on a Monday. The scallops were some of the best I’ve ever had. The lamb and duck breast were so savory, I found myself stopping to ponder the flavors in my mouth. No need to ramble further, strongly recommend.

Food was amazing. I've never had small plates before and was a little nervous that it wouldn't be filling but I left surprisingly full and satisfied. We went there before a show. My wife and I are foodie that have tried food from all over the world. Our food and experience was great. Let’s talk a little about the venue. The inside is tastefully decorated while showing the character of the old building that is located in the heart of Bayview. The real cool part of the experience was the menu itself. There was nothing ordinary. Everything we had was creative and tasty. Two plates that really stood out for us was the duck egg curry and a Brazilian seafood dish. The broth in the seafood dish was amazing. All in all I would recommend Odd Duck to anyone who wants a truly unique dining experience.

The food was absolutely delicious! My girlfriend and I had an awesome time here. The ambiance was very well thought out as well. They even go as far to align the tables in the right way so that you are never facing another table or person so you can avoid that awkward overhearing conversations and eye contact. 2 things that didn't get this place a five star review. 1. Our server was very pretentious. Almost treated us like we didn't belong there and that he was much better than us. 2. I hope you have some serious money to spend here. Not the cheapest place in the city but the food is worth it!

Amazing small tapas and some of the best cocktails I've ever tried. The Gin, vodka, sugar snap pea, basil something or other was phenomenal. Food was SO interesting and ranged from American to Thai and beyond. Service was great and atmosphere was fun and casual. So worth checking out. Crowded and popular, so make sure you get reservations.

We had fun night at Odd Duck. Very nice local Restaurant. Food was really good and has great wine options. Food is smaller portions and is for share. Like tapas style. They recommend to order 5 to 6 dishes for 2 people. I think this is a good way to try so many options from the menu.

Great restaurant. Very creative tapas style small dishes, but items are inspired by dishes from all over the globe. The moqueca Brazilian fish stew is incredible. The Sichuan Liang Fen noodle dish is a new addition, but hopefully a regular. The Ethiopian Fried Cauliflower is a must have dish. You get the idea. A dinner at Odd Duck is like a trip around the globe for a dinner of global greatest hits. Very tasty non-alcoholic drinks. Desserts are just as creative and delicious.

Ordered carryout last week for a celebration. I have a food allergy and the staff and Executive Chef were very careful with making sure all the food ordered avoided contamination. They even called the day of to ensure the order was correct! I will definitely be going back not only because of the service, but the plates were amazing! Recommend the Peruvian Grilled Octopus while it is still on the menu!

Service was really great and attentive. We had frequent check-ins but didn't feel rushed. The food was phenomenal, including a really good cheese plate and perfect bread. All of the small plates were delicious. Their menu changes every day so it's never the same twice! The food was at the same level as Engine Co. 3, a former favorite, but without that place's relentless service issues. Other than the slightly tight seating quarters (and the fact that we had a person at the next table with an obnoxiously loud speaking voice) it was completely perfect from beginning to end.

Phenomenal! We ordered carry out last night and every dish was an exploration of flavors, all perfectly seasoned and balanced with fresh ingredients. The gluten free flourless chocolate with orange créeme anglaise / candied oranges was heavenly. Best flourless cake I’ve eaten. We visited this small plates restaurant based on positive reviews. We enjoy innovative cuisine and the flavors we experienced were very good. We shared lobster fritters that were amazing. The stuffed Hungarian peppers were spicy good. We were looking forward to the seared sea scallops and spaetzle, but were disappointed when they came out at room temperature. The service was attentive so it’s possible that our food was prepared at the same time but delivered in intervals. I would recommend not ordering all the small plates at the same time.

This place is amazing. The cocktails are fantastic and the food is astounding. I don't think I've ever eaten somewhere that we ordered four dishes for the table and everything was the best thing I have ever tasted. This was the case at Odd Duck. With such amazing offerings I would expect the service to be pretentious and snarky, but the service was the best we've ever had.

This. Place!!! No reservations on a Monday and it was packed. The hostess was awesome... They made room at the bar for the 2 of us. Fresh, in season ingredients in ALL of there dishes. Perfect size to share one dish for two people (we ordered three dishes). Oh and the cocktails!! Totally unique and delicious! HIGHLY recommend!!

Was in Milwaukee, from Chicago for a getaway weekend with my mom. Found this restaurant and was lucky enough to get a reservation on a Saturday evening. This is an amazing place. Food is quirky, but delicious, beverages were also tremendous as well. My mom said this was one of the best meals she had in years, and I would agree. We have been to some great places but this measures up and surpassed many of them.

Odd Duck is certainly one of the best restaurants in the Milwaukee area. Their wide menu caters to many diets and makes for a wonderful sharing experience. It's great for a date night, a larger group, and anything in between. As vegetarians, my husband and I find a restaurant of this caliber with such a large selection of vegetarian options to be an absolute delight. The dishes also really range in flavor profiles and come from different ethnic influences. And not to forget, they have an impressive wine list and a number of clever and inventive cocktails. And save room for desert - it's worth it! And the most important tip: make a reservation!! I've been there on a Monday night when there wasn't a table available until 9:30 pm. The word is out and well known, this place is amazing.

Wow. What a place. The bartending by Dan and the lady (I did not get her name and that upsets me in retrospect) was phenomenal. The attentiveness was second to none. The drinks were perfect. I ordered the #5 off the menu and a Jungle Bird. Both were absolutely delicious. They made me feel like home even though I was a solo diner from out of town. Absolute favorite restaurant in Milwaukee. Ever changing menu, always something new and exciting to try. Half vegetarian, half meat options which is perfect in today’s food scene. Small plates concept is great for introducing a teenager to new foods prepared well. We’ve been here years ago and were not disappointed. Couldn’t get a reservation on a Tuesday night until after 9:15 pm, so we took our chances on a first come, first served patio. Everything delicious and complex. Service a little patchy. Will come again, and again. Terrific small plate selections for vegetarians as well as for omnivores, nicely spaced out. Lively atmosphere.

Absolutely spectacular food and service. It's always hard to find gems like this. Easy to get in and out of when crowded drink selection could use some more eagle park, 1840, or untitled. I couldn't be happier with the price. Love the bartenders. Anyone that complains about price is broke and should stick to cooking at home. And anyone that complains about the atmosphere isn't a foodie and should again just stay the hell at home!

This was an amazing find. Will be returning for the amazing dishes and cocktails. I didn't try a dessert but many individuals seemed to be enjoying them around me. Would highly recommend this venue but a reservation is certainly needed unless you are happy with bar seating (which is also a wait list!). The bar and host staff were so on it when it came to our reservation at the bar. Two individuals were leaving and tried to give their seats to their friends and the hosts were seriously amazing, they made sure our third party member got their seat. We live in Madison but will be returning soon.

My fiancee and I decided to go here on a Saturday night. We walked into a full restaurant and were happy we had made a reservation. I had not been here before, but I had heard great things. After looking at the menu it all sounds good, but I also thought some of the dishes looked like they kind of had a lot going on. We ordered 4 different plates and they were all outstanding. I would tell anyone that this is curious about Odd Duck that this is one of my top 5 dining experiences ever and top 1-2 in Milwaukee. I believe that their menu changes pretty often, so me going on about the mushrooms, pork shoulder, or amazing spin on a gyro won't mean much to you when you look at the menu they have for your visit.

One of the best meals I've ever had. I can't wait to go back. Having lived in San Francisco, New York and now the Chicago area, plus a frequent traveler to New Orleans, I've eaten at many of the best restaurants in the country. Odd Duck is right up there. The ever changing menu offers a cornucopia of interesting choices. My wife and I ordered four plates (much like a tapas restaurant) which was plenty and left room for a marvelous dessert. I stopped eating beef, lamb and pork a few years ago so the menu, which is divided into Animal & Vegetable was perfect. The atmosphere was eclectic and charming and our server delightful. We can't wait to go back.

Even my least favorite dish was great and better than what you can get at most restaurants in Milwaukee. We will be back, a lot. Beef and broccoli was cooked perfectly. Octopus was delightful. The celery root dish was amazing despite what you're probably thinking... "can something like celery root be good?" Yes. Yes it can. Cornbread...get it. Scallops, yum. Cocktails and dessert were also winners. Oh, and most of the menu is gluten free friendly.

I am in love with Odd Duck. The service is incredible, very knowledgeable staff. They have a changing menu, and EVERYTHING is so delightful all the time. Every drink is made with love, and every plate is heaven in your mouth. Great place to try new/different things. Atmosphere is incredible, I feel comfortable getting off work and grabbing a late bite at the bar, as well as dressing up for a date night. They take reservations, but the wait is always worth it.

There is always the risk when visiting a well rated restaurant that one's expectations will far exceed food and service. Not here. This is an outstanding experience. Medium plates sized perfectly to share for two people allowing the patrons to share several dishes. Ordered two dishes at a time and they were delivered with perfect timing. I've literally never had a dish I didn't like at Odd Duck. Also, as a vegetarian, I highly appreciate that half the menu accommodates my diet. Plus, the bartender (bar manager maybe) with the tattoo sleeves just caught us in our car as we were already driving away around the corner because we forgot our credit card and he wanted to get it to us before we left. Was excited to try this place. Told there would be a 25-30 min wait. Took about an hour to be seated. When asked for recommendations on what some crowd favorites were, was told "it's all great". The food was good, but maybe our expectations were too high. Of the four plates we got, the beef short rib we're by far the best. Definitely recommend them.

We stumbled in here while visiting the area from Madison yesterday. Although they were packed when we walked in they put us on a wait list to accommodate. Folks, even if you have to wait a bit (next time we will make a reservation :)...it is well worth it. For starters, the service is attentive and kind; whereas, in Madison it's almost as if cold and aloof is a mainstay in the industry. Then, there's the food....Incredible what they have coming out of that tiny kitchen! We enjoyed the octopus, seafood curry and I will, forever, dream about that short rib! Absolutely fantastic and we can't wait to come back!!

Where do I start...Odd duck was the experience of a 5 star restaurant with the price of a 3 star restaurant. We ordered about 5-6 different plates - as the serving style is small plates. Everything was how you would imagine a top rated French restaurant to be, both in terms of taste and preparation. If you've ever been to Girl and the Goat, it's the same style, and the taste may even be better. Don't forget to set a reservation, as it gets booked quickly. This is an experience I will always remember.

While it has been a few years since I’d been back to Odd Duck, I was very excited to go back once again and eat my way through a sizable chunk of the menu. Food: My wife and I had 6 of the courses, and 2 drinks. I figure it would be easier to go one by one: Kale Salad: 8/10: good portion, very flavorful the smoked hazelnut/pepita was a great compliment. Potato Bubble Waffle: 6/10: again, good portion, was more of a comfort food then a vibrant taste. If you like poutine, this may be up your ally. Duck Fat Cabonara: 9/10: The best dish we had. Portion size was pretty big, and the star was the spicy duck heart bits. We both said, ordering two portions of this could make a meal, and a very tasty one at that. Cauliflower Rojo: 5/10: Smaller portion size, and while everything separate was good, just didn’t overly work for us. Think a mole sauce over cauliflower. Beef and Broccoli: 8/10: HUGE portion size for the value, and tasted like a very clean version of the dish. Didn’t overly invent the wheel on this, however it was just a great version of a takeout food classic. Duck Egg Cornbread: 7/10: was a bit dry, but the flavors were good, presentation was nice too. Chocolate Ganache cake: ?/10: I don’t want to rate this one, because it relied heavily on orange/chocolate combo which is just not my cup of tea. That said, the cake was good, and the banana ice-cream was as well. Pomegranate Mezcal: 10/10: I always go for the mezcal drink on the menu, as I love the smokey taste. That said, most of the time drinks get weighed down by the heft of the smoke, and this one did not. A very flavorful drink with just the right balance. Atmosphere: A very small space with a smaller bar, I have always been interested in the Odd Duck space. To me, it is very muted, and doesn’t speak nearly as loud as their food does…but hey, you don’t really need it when your restaurant is constantly full. Service: Our waiter was great, kept plates staggered nicely so we could finish one before the other. All around very good. My score: 8/10. A place I always like going to once or twice a year, when the menu shifts. My wife and I’s favorite restaurant is the Girl and the Goat in Chicago, so this is a good Milwaukee replacement. Pricey, and the atmosphere isn't as nice as others, but the portion sizes don’t make you feel cheated, and a wide range of interesting dishes to try will keep you coming back.

Incredible small-plates, farm-to-table concept restaurant with the unassuming attitude I grew to know and love in Milwaukee. Located close to the action of Bay View, this small storefront is in fact quite generous inside. Be sure to make reservations as the queues can be quite long on the weekends. The menu changes daily, items are seasonable, and the drinks' list rotates regularly. Whether it's a Korean scallion pancake, tacos, sushi, gnocchi, or a skirt steak, everything is executed with a great deal of love and care. The cheese plate is generous, and like other items, meant to be shared. Arrive with a sense of languor because this will be a meal to savor and appreciate. In the summertime, check out their back patio, which is great for sipping and sauntering.

It was ok. Service was ok but slow. Helpful but not overly friendly. Dishes were interesting but way too salty. Would’ve been great if each one wasn’t over salted. They also talked up the spice on one so much we were nervous to try it and when we did we wondered what they were talking about. Not spicy at all. Dessert was dry. Wine was good. Patio needed some weeding and cleanup. I wouldn’t go back, especially for the price. Other places have done this type of food and ambiance better.

Amazing experience at Odd Duck. I'm absolutely in awe of what they do there - it is so so apparent that they take their craft seriously. How they rotate the menu so often and maintain that level of quality is beyond me. The drinks and food we got were incredible. Get all 3 of the drinks under the "Favorites" section. You won't be disappointed. I also loved #21 which is a vodka/grapefruit/fennel concoction. For the food, we were blown away by everything - fiddlehead fern fricase, cauliflower, duck, short rib, quail (least favorite cause it's so hard to get any meat off that tiny thing). And my personal favorite was the Nasi Lamek. Do not miss that. Amazing lavender lemon crem brûlée for dessert.

(Review from 7/29/15) I ate at Odd Duck this past Monday with family. There were six of us, and our server suggested that if we order about two plates per person, that we would have enough food to leave full and satisfied. He was right on! We tried everything from bacon wrapped gouda filled dates, charred octopus, duck, scallops, risotto, corn salad, pierogi, fried chicken, and pork belly. Overall, my personal favorites were the dates and the octopus! I highly recommend trying those just as many other reviews have stated. The dates have the perfect mix of sweet and savory, smooth and creamy with the crunch of the bacon. The flavors and textures work great together. The octopus was one of the things that I HAD to try going into Odd Duck as I had seen many people recommending it. The first thing that our server suggested was in fact the charred octopus which he went into detail and with passion about how much he really liked it! You don't know what you are missing until you have tried this dish! The octopus is the most tender I have ever had, and the char adds such a great flavor profile that I have not experienced with octopus before. I will for sure be ordering the charred octopus whenever I go back to Odd Duck! The atmosphere is what you would expect for a small Bay View hipster restaurant. I really like the small plates to share amongst people style of dinning. Bring friends and enjoy the ride!

Great place to go for small plate style dishes. I am a big fan of Spanish style tapas and enjoy going to other types of small plate restaurants. All of the food here was unique and very, very tasty. Odd duck is a very special gem in Milwaukee. They has everything you could want in a independent restaurant. There is a wide and inspired small plate selection. The bacon wrapped Gouda dates, seared scallops, and Peruvian potato/ yucca plates are my personal favorites. There is also a large cocktail menu; I had a gin drink with thyme. Now for the service, I have always noticed that all the servers were deeply familiar with the menu. They were always attentive but not overbearing. Odd duck is a great date spot. I had my first date, 1 year anniversary, and recently my engagement at Odd Duck. Again, from top to bottom, you can't find a better restaurant in Bayview or Milwaukee.

Usually good service. -=update=- after my third visit I have to lower to 4 stars. i went to odd duck on a Wednesday and had four dishes, all four were very mediocre (even though i had 1 of them before and it was great). I'm hoping it was just a weekday fluke, but when you spend a lot of money on dinner there shouldn't be flukes. I plan i trying them again to find out. -=update=- went back on a weekend. it was pretty good, but still not the amazing food i had the first two visits. I'm sure i'll try it again some time, but i'm in no rush after the last two visits.

Great food, lousy service. Very good food, however, had a server who never actually greeted us, just poured us water, and walked away. We waited a very long time, finally went up and asked someone for service, and the girl who poured water was actually our server... She never introduced herself, didn't keep up on checking if we wanted to order more (it's a small plates restaurant, you gotta keep up on making sure your table has enough food). Food is wonderful, bartender leaves much to be desired. Thursday 3/3/16 was my second visit in 3 1/2 years. Both times, same bartender. VERY inattentive and UNFRIENDLY!. I arrived before my friends for our five p.m. reservation and went right to the bar. She was right in front of me washing glasses. NEVER greeted me, continued to wash glasses. I said I was meeting friends for a reservation as I sat down. After about three minutes of her washing glasses and asking others if they needed anything, she finally slid a drink menu over from 3 feet away. I ordered a glass of wine which she brought without a word. My friends arrived and ordered. She still was not friendly but at least they didn't wait for her to get done with something else. They were served with drink napkins under their glasses, I was not. The first visit with my husband in 2012 was the same, but worse as we ate at the bar. Wait staff on top of all with awesome service and suggestions. Easy going and never pressured to move you along. And the food...wow! Bec ordered all and every dish was amazing. Highly recommend you check it out. $50 with 25% tip for all 3 with no liquor purchased.

My fiance and I went here for our anniversary dinner. It has a fun vibe and I was very pleased with the amount of vegetarian plates that were available. We each ordered 2 plates and shared a cheese platter. I was a little disappointed that the cheese platter did not arrive until we were almost done with our first plate. I liked my first dish, pierogies, but did not care for the second, kung pao tofu, there were so many other options, I just wish I had tried something else. Overall a great experience, looking forward to trying some more plates.

In a word? _OUTSTANDING._ We decided to check out Odd Duck for dinner before heading over to Anodyne Coffee for a concert later in the evening. And we could not have been happier with our decision. The variety of small plate offerings and the far more than adequate selection of drinks to accompany them was (as I mentioned previously) outstanding. And no complaints about the service, whatsoever. There is absolutely no question that we will be returning to sample more of the menu.

For the food, we were blown away by everything - fiddlehead fern fricase, cauliflower, duck, short rib, quail (least favorite cause it's so hard to get any meat off that tiny thing). And my personal favorite was the Nasi Lamek. Do not miss that. Amazing lavender lemon crem brûlée for dessert. Service was perfect too. I would literally come hack to Milwaukee again just to go here.

COVID-19 update: I used their pick-up service last week and was fairly happy with it. The staff contacts you and brings it out. They all wear masks. However, they did hand it directly to me, which seemed unnecessary, but ultimately very low risk since we're both masked and it's a brief outdoor interaction. Also, I saw later that they have a pickup area, where they could put it in your backseat to further decrease the risk if you're particularly concerned. The food certainly doesn't come across as well at the home environment, but man alive I'm glad that we can still at least get it in some form! Best. Food. In. Milwaukee.

Spicy Calabrese olive salad,Naden Beef short ribs(the best),Chared Lamb in Greek sauce, Roasted Cauliflower, Savory Potato Bubble waffle(yum!) and Wild Mushroom Galette! When we called to make reservations the hostess asked if there was any food allergys. Then when we got there at my spot was a menu with everything highlighted that had nuts.
