Reviews of North Avenue Market

We’re so happy to have this in walking distance of our home. We plan on coming here lots! Very comfortable atmosphere with tons of food and beverage options. Make sure to check out the downstairs shops! I presume they’ll add some sort of signage to draw people to the stairs since it’s not very obvious right now that there is more downstairs.

Great spot for grabbing a quick bite, studying, working remotely all day, it just hanging out. You can tell that the owner - a great community member - put a lot of thought into the space. There’s something here for everyone - in terms of food (vegan, gluten free), drinks (NA drinks), and space.
I especially like the idea of the speakeasy down stairs. You can rent it out with friends on the weekends.

Visited Milwaukee to meet family for lunch. We decided to meet at the North Avenue Market. What a perfect venue for a relaxed family visit! A refreshing dragon fruit boba tea, a rich mocha, a carnitas bowl and veggie sandwich were particular highlights for our group of eight. Everything was delicious. Highly recommend!!

Stopped by here on Sunday for brunch. Love the decor/design. I had boba, a cupcake, and a breakfast bowl. The downstairs is for desserts and they have more seating. It would be cool if they host music down there at night. Hope to see more food vendors added :)

What an excellent addition to North Avenue! I stopped in today to check it out and was pleasantly surprised at the variety and shops/restaurants and spaces. I had lunch at Farm Fresh Bowl (chipotle chicken and avocado wrap with fries) and it was great! Very generous size and enough for two meals for me. I didn’t get the woman’s name that took my order and served me but she was friendly, helpful, and professional, which made the experience even better! They even serve Sprecher root beer - thanks for supporting another Wisconsin business. I am looking forward to trying out all the food stands and don’t forget to go downstairs for some awesome looking desserts. 🙂

Darn good coffee and service! This is a place you need to check out. If you are in the mood for something to satisfy your sweet tooth, you will fall in love with the peanut butter cup latte. I also recommend sipping on some of the Brazil blend on drip any given day (or night).
Cheers ☕️

Lovely place. The main bar serves well made drinks. There are a lot of tasty food places in the market and all of the vendors were friendly.

Fresh Farm Bowls, the Deli, Taste of Java and the Bittercube Bar were all great!! The peach old fashioned was delicious, Ham panini, pork and mashed potato bowl and pilcrow coffee (from Taste of Java) were so good. We will be back, a lot!!!!

This place is great. Love the vision. Love the execution!
Had lunch here with my wife. Got the curry & Korean sesame chicken sandwich. Both amazing.
We also got to meet the owner & he took 10 minutes out of his busy day to share his vision for the hall and how it came to be!
Love the vision of bringing our diverse community together. Perfect spot at the intersection of 4 different neighborhoods.
We'll be back often!

What a great addition to East North Avenue! There is a nice lounge area along with table seating. Bittercube bar is the centerpiece, handcrafted cocktails with an atmosphere that doesn't scream, "I'm in a bar!". Coffee place (drive up is available) has a nice variety of bakery goods in a small case. Ice cream & desserts on the lower level & several food (casual) options on the main level.

An amazing place! A diverse number of vendors. Great food. Great space. Awesome spot to meet up with friends and hang out. Very welcoming and inviting space.
Highly recommend anyone looking for a casual place to gather with friends or meet new people should definitely make plans to come in and check this place out!

I had the pleasure of visiting North Avenue Market and was blown away by not only the wide selection of high-quality products, but also by the fantastic owner, Chris. From the moment I walked in, Chris made me feel welcome and went out of his way to ensure that I had a great experience.
Chris's passion for the market and its offerings is palpable, and it's clear that he takes great pride in providing his customers with the best possible experience. His friendly and helpful manner really added to the overall enjoyment of my visit.
But beyond Chris's great hosting skills, the market itself is a true gem. The variety of vendors they offer is impressive, and the prices are competitive. And the staff are all friendly and knowledgeable, making it easy to find exactly what you're looking for.
In short, if you're in the Milwaukee area, make sure to pay a visit to North Avenue Market. You'll not only find great food & drinks, but you'll also be treated to top-notch hospitality from Chris and his team. This place really brings Milwaukee together as a community!

Can't say enough good things about this place. A bunch of options inside and the owner is one of the most friendly people you will ever meet. This is not only a place for great food from small local businesses but also just a great place to go. It's truly a community space and that is fully represented in everything from the owners attitude to the murals on the walls. Be sure to check out the lower level and if you have a small group book out the Vault and you won't be disappointed!

Very nice facility with multiple venues, the only complaint was the extremely long wait we had waiting for our meal to be prepared. I will say that the place was very busy and I don't think that they were expecting that. They had live jazz music being played, and we met a lot of really nice people.
Mike Simon
Very cool offering of craft bittercube cocktails and food vendors under one roof, all on north! Stop in for a drink and bite.

Went there tonight for the first time with husband our two year old and three month old. It was nice that we could walk in with our strollers. We saw other parents and kids hanging out in the various areas with comfy seating.
We don't drink so we didn't have an opinion on the bar, but unfortunately we weren't all that impressed. We got there around 7pm and a few vendors were either closed or closing. We noticed that few of the stalls had visible menus and weren't decorated in a way that gave a clue to what their vibe was. Only one stall had a paper menu visible to grab but they were already packing up for the night.
Took the elevator to the other floor (a nice option when you have two strollers). There were rooms with seating which looked pretty cool but the two vendors up there were also underwhelming. One, am ice cream place that also had a popcorn machine, and then a cupcake place. I bought 2 cupcakes and a brownie and it was $14.50- yikes 😮
When we got home and ate them they were not good 😔. He had a GF caramel apple cupcake which he says pretty much crumbled and fell apart when he ate it. I had a cookie dough cupcake- which had no cookie dough features at all. Just yellow cake, white frosting and a mini cookie stuck on top. The brownie was ok. The lady at the cupcake place was very nice and informative. I'll try it again next time and see if the treats are better.
I really want to root for this place because I love the idea and right down the street from us. I'll try again in a couple months and see how it goes.

Firstly, this place is so cool! It almost makes me want to go back for another college degree just so I have an excuse to study somewhere with such immaculate vibes. I had boba and a fried chicken sandwich that were both well crafted! I unfortunately will be returning more often than is good for my wallet.

First time visitor to North Avenue Market. Food was awesome. Bittercube was crazy attentive. The bartender was the best. Wife bought more desserts than we'll ever consume. Will definitely go back again.

I enjoyed a falafel bowl from Fresh Farm Bowls, a turkey sandwich from Sam's Deli, and a coffee from A Taste of Java. All the food was good and I liked the atmosphere. I hope they switch away from having so many single-use plastic food utensils/containers soon.

The place has real potential. Inflation really hurts the experience. The atmosphere seems out of touch from the area and the economic hurdles facing the surrounding community. If the focus of the space was to build community, it could work. As a parent, I could see this being a place that kids could learn about building community... which is something we need greatly right now. Would you consider volunteers, apprenticeships, community building activities, or donations to increase interest?

What a uniquely delightful experience! We spent an entire evening relaxing with friends, sampling a wide variety of delicious food ~~ gourmet chicken sandwiches, a fabulous curry bowl, amazing boba tea, a lovely charcuterie board, made-from-scratch ice cream, and craft cocktails ~~ all within the beautifully reimagined space of a former bank, now this wonderful market. The celebration of diversity was revealed in the clientele, families with kids, folks in wheelchairs, young professionals, couples, groups of friends, and oldsters like us, enjoying the company of others out to enjoy a pleasant Friday night. Kudos to Chris and his crew for opening welcoming arms to the community. It feels like home!

What an absolutely beautiful space! I had the opportunity to spend the day there working remotely and was able to find a comfortable spot with wi-fi and an electrical outlet. The two of us were able to work comfortably, and find the creature comforts we needed relatively amenable. I started my day with a mug of coffee that offered refill for under $3, she started her day with a cold brew coffee. With only one refill/cup purchased, I was soon $9 into my day, meanwhile her cold brew sat nearly full. As an observation, I asked them to taste it and see if it was normally that acidic, to which they confirmed and stated, "I'm sorry you didn't like it." No worries. Slightly off-putting, but not my circus, not my monkeys.
Did a little bit more work, everything was spaced far enough that you could have indoor conversation without yelling over each other, but the speakers in the building did seem to feel directly overhead, so headphones were great. We made our way over to get a couple of fresh bowls for lunch. Convenient, settling, but not memorable.
We finished working throughout the night, the lights were dimmed and the ambience changed over to a softer evening glow. The bar became busier as people filtered in for their after work drinks at the bar. I did not have a drink, but will definitely come back and sit at that bar once my work day is done.
Both the market and the company I was with were phenomenal. Gorgeous, easy to work with and definitely leaves you wanting more. The food and the coffee were subpar, but certainly will do in a pinch. Check the space out!

Heard there was a soft opening today and decided I couldn’t miss it! We went to the boba place and had amazing food, boba lemonades and service. Overall, the space is welcoming and roomy, and I don’t doubt that it will become a staple in the mke foodie scene. Can’t wait to visit again and am excited to try another vendor.

My review is for Fresh Farm Bowls and the coffee shop.
The coffee shop was excellent. Super friendly and helpful service.
Fresh Farm Bowls: Just ok but mainly I think the service was lacking. Simple things like greeting your customers, SMILING and using manners such as please, thank you and you're welcome go a long way. I had come specifically to order a breakfast wrap that a well known Milwaukean posted and I ended up ordering the wrong thing (bowl instead of wrap) and was telling the guy and it was sort of off putting that he assumed that I wanted it for free when that was not my intent at all but he was quite unfriendly the entire time and it felt like we were burdening him with our business. I decided to not order the burrito because it felt like bad energy. Also the eggs were way too runny in the bowl.

Got the “Honey Gochujang” chicken sandwich from the boba tea stand, and it was excellent! Great quality piece of meat with a crispy breading and flavorful Korean sauce. Would definitely get it again

I enjoyed a good cup of coffee and great vibes. Can wait to make it back to this awesome new spot.

Great space. Java was a nice little coffee shop with a great chailatte + honey and chocolate chip cookies. Space is great to meet-up, study, work.
Had S'Blendid Boba and their Milk Tea w/ Boba is very tasty and their Honey Gochujang Chicken is a delicious spicy and slightly sweet.

This new space is beautiful and very inviting. There is a nice variety of food options and a full bar. Glad they have gift cards too!

Great place to hangout with friends, several different food choices. Atmosphere is more adult oriented with a bar and entertainment. Veteran friendly
Marco Briceno
I loved the space, the vendors, and the customer service. Went there to get some work done between meetings and loved it. Make sure to check out the downstairs area, they have some space to work down there as well.
Alisha Louise
This place is awesome. Lots of variety to be had, nice atmosphere. More things like this would be awesome around town. It's like the public market almost. Recommend almost all the places inside.
Rachel Gilbert Falkowski

I tried a sandwich shop and a coffee shop in the North Ave Market, they are in the process of going through new vendors. So a lot of the shops I actually wanted to try, we’re already gone. The sandwich shop was quick, inexpensive and pretty decent. The coffee shop was decent, but the morning bun I had was dry. However the staff and customer service was awesome. I’d definitely go back when they get the new vendors.
